Snatched from the brunt of the wave, the young man faces an inhuman creature of humanoid form that strikes out his eye to deliver onto him the gift of magic by means of the followers.Praise be to Susej they say. These followers.Selfish in his means of survival, a young man rallies with these people for his own safety as the government seeks to keep the truth of the world under wraps, that magic exists and that people like the followers are throwing it into chaos.Sent on a mission to liberate people captured for conscription based on their awakening to magic, he journeys with others to meet with a woman planted for this very purpose, finding adversity on the way.Having left a trail all too easy to follow, he's been captured and taken to the very place he'd been looking to gain access, though not exactly on his own terms...Recently rescued by unknown allies, the young man takes on a new alias “Faust” to help him lay low.You are Faust, welcome to Over(human)Limit S2
The mirror lays black before you, a circle of dubious alchemical origin laid out before you with characters twinkling like stars in a midnight sky. The characters gleam as the man speaks through the threshold. His voice is old and wise though in possession of a certain kind of spirit, like that you might see in the eyes of an elder that's seen it all.Yet then he asks for you to introduce yourself.“I've started to go by Faust. Names Asher, but I don't know if I really want to keep that.”An amused laugh precedes, “So you felt a need to change it, did you? Why? And why would you choose my own name?”You tell him your story, laying it all bare. The recount is detached, an unwillingness to try to remember the vivid detail of all that's happened. The wave, the followers, Asherah and Lucifer. You figure it couldn't hurt. You haven't really been able to talk to anyone about it.There's Emilia, but she's too involved. There's Saph, but she's too unnerving for your taste. Too much like friend right down to the color of her power separated by only a few shades.Faust listens diligently, asking questions here and there. He's courteous without necessarily being kind. You can tell that he's prodding here and there for the parts that interest him but not with any insistence or demand. It's like talking to a grandfather or something. He's interested in the whole case with Lucia, “So in the end you stole fire from a god?” An uproar of laughter breaks through the communication. “And you flaked from an agreement with a devil!” He calms down from the high.“Are you trying to mantle me or something? With that eye I'd wager Old Odin would be interested. At least, if you were more inclined for wisdom.”Faust clears his throat, “So this is who my unlikely guest is. What did you seek from me? Entry to my library? Knowledge and power?”
>>35137232You shrug, playing it off as nothing especially important, “Pretty much. I'm being chased by a fallen angel that has sway with judeo-christian demons and I figure who else to turn to?” You steady your gaze on the symbols.“Not sure exactly where else to turn from here. It's been a while since I've even sort of been on my own... But I'm with a group called Zeitgeist now.” Thinking for a moment, you go ahead and ask...“Is it possible for a human to ascend into a god?”Faust is silent for a moment. “Zeitgeist. Spirit of the times. Sounds like a revolutionary group, eh?”There's a silence shared between the two of you.Broken by the real Faust's laughter, “Yes. There is a way to ascend into a deity. It can happen to places, animals of repute, and people. If you ask that question I must assume that you know that this is a time where legends can most certainly be made.”“What do you know about all this?”“More than we have time for. I have business to attend to and I sense that you'll be waking soon. Call for me at the end of the week. Goodbye... Erm... What should I call you?” The man chuckles, “Shame on you for using my name.”“Just call me... Asher. Yeah, Asher Faust sounds good.” You decide and the man seems to accept that. “Johann Georg Faust. Say that next time. Farewell young alchemist.”The image upon the mirror fades and you wake up to the comfort of Emilia at your back, one of her arms curled under yours, clutching at your chest. She must have moved at some point.
>>35137253 The fashion show is later in the week, you have time to devote to summoning, and practicing some other spells or speaking with Dorothy. You feel that the Witch has a number of answers that you seek concerning magic. And then there's the case of getting her to give you a portal bag... Reaching her is just about any door away, right?> Visit Dorothy. You've got questions to ask.> Train your magical talents. Might be able to invite others along to see their progress.> Practice ritual magic... Might as well jump into it feet first. You need to get a reliable summon after all. > Ask Saph some questions, you don't know enough about what's going on or even why a fashion show.> (Other)
>>35137312> Practice ritual magic... Might as well jump into it feet first. You need to get a reliable summon after all.We should either try Celtic,Greek or Norse.I guess since we're more neutral now we could attract something/one that isn't a complete dickbag
>>35137334>more neutral nowThis is true.
>>35137312> Practice ritual magic... Might as well jump into it feet first. You need to get a reliable summon after all.I want a new summon and Asmodeus isn't going to stop me
>>35137312> Visit Dorothy. You've got questions to askMaybe we could find a copy of Alchemy for Dummies so Faust doesn't think we're a total dumbshit when he starts to train us
What do you guys think of modifying the baby hydra instead of going for something entirely new?We need to get rid of it anyway, at least as it is now, and a new summon would be pretty ok, so this kills two birds with one stone.>>35137312How many days until the end of the week?
>>35137312> Practice ritual magic... Might as well jump into it feet first. You need to get a reliable summon after all. What could possibly go wrong>Johann Georg>not HeinrichIt would have fitted better
>>35137312> Ask Saph some questions, you don't know enough about what's going on or even why a fashion show.We need to ask what the deal with Marcus is. Our divination session showed that Saph thinks he's the biggest fucking monster ever, but we haven't seen him do more than be a cranky asshole. I don't want to get blindsided by some crazy shit out of nowhere.
>>35137425Which day is it again? How long until Halloween? We either need to have a bunker or ride the flow
>>35137410>What do you guys think of modifying the baby hydra instead of going for something entirely new?Lava. Lets turn it into a lava hydra dragon thing. We can totally do that.
So when's Dagda gonna show up Dran?
>>35137362Inb4 Asmodeus keeps hijacking out summonings.
>>35137312Since it looks like we're about to try to summon something,CIRCLES, MOTHERFUCKER. CIRCLES AND RUNES AND BINDING WARDS ON WARDS ON WARDS.Make them recursive fractals and incorporate the seal of Solomon a few times because I'm fucking paranoid.
>>35137544Agreed with this anon. This time we use a fucking circle
>Faust confirming the eye thing is a blessingOdin drinking buddies here we go
>>35137610Odin's probably a cunt and I don't want anything to do with him.
>>35137561Use the fancy ass one solomn used, that shit is top teir
>>35137610No thanks seriously.
>>35137635For demons. What if we don't get a demon out of the astral slot machine?
>>35137610>dran scared us away from gods forever with luci and shitbitchwaterqueenI'm starting to think dran is a Jew, no man should be able to lead us by our noses this easily
>>35137232It never occured to me how poetic Asher's life has been. >He's interested in the whole case with Lucia, “So in the end you stole fire from a god?” An uproar of laughter breaks through the communication. “And you flaked from an agreement with a devil!” He calms down from the high.
>>35137669To be honest demon are some of the most useful summons we could get.
>>35137669Multiple layers of circles, circles in circles in circles>>35137685>we pulled a Prometheus on Prometheus She really did a good job making us into her
>>35137711Not anymore. At least, not the judeo-christian ones. Demons like Donner would work, but we don't want anything that could be influenced by Luci.
>>35137720>She really did a good job making us into herA bit too good
>>35137720She picked her champion a tad too well, it seems.
>>35137711Nigger donneth is useful as shit and he ain't no demon, I kinda wanna get a Minotaur now, big fucker that can tank hits while we play artillery, actually a non shit hydra would be good for that, they are nigh unkillable bastards
>>35137711If we ever do summon demons the contract needs to explicitly state that they are never to speak of their time in our service to any but those we explicitly tell it to. >critical eartheommCaptcha says we should summon a big earth thing.
>>35137733You do realize there is a demon for dealing with demons?
>>35137767>he ain't no demonYes he is. He's not a Judeo-christian demon, but he is a demon by this setting.
>>35137810NO A STRAIGHT UP FUCKING DEMON!Hell it even does hits on other demons.
>>35137767>a non shit hydra would be good for that, they are nigh unkillable bastardsI really want to do this.
Remember to get something that's not weak to fire or cold iron(this includes steel here) this time. Both Donneth and Morgan have some overlapping weaknesses and we don't want all our summons to suffer from the same things.
Guys I know you don't want to do it now, but can we please agree to ask Saph about Marcus later? I really, /really/ don't want to get surprised by something with him once missions actually start.
>>35137863Everything that's not fae or Frankenstein, got it. Fae Frankenstein here we come
>>35137928No ice or plant or general undead either.
>>35137911Just google the devouring flame and any variations of that you can think of.
>>35137940Frozen undead flower fae Frankenstein?
>>35137944Then it's metaknowledge that we can't act on in quest if we find anything at all. You're also disregarding that the problem might be with Marcus himself at a more fundamental level than what powerset he chose. A crazy fucker with a shotgun is just as likely to kill you as a crazy fucker with a bomb. Finding out the history of Marcus' weapon is less important that figuring out what flavor of crazy he is.
>>35137994>we can't act onAnon do you know how much meta bullshit we have acted on so far? You can't even count all the shit we've acted on that was meta as hell
>>35138190We can still pick the choices based on meta knowledge, but what Asher does will be different. If we figure out what Marcus is OOC vs IC, what happens will be very different.
>>35138319>one type of shit inner monologue is different from another in any important way
[x] Practice ritual magic... Might as well jump into it feet first. You need to get a reliable summon after all.
>>35138373We're not his inner monologue, we're a tiny tiny subtle little astral thing that pushes his actions down different paths which he could have ended up taking on his own. Asher's knowledge pool is separate from the players even though there is a lot of overlap in terms of content.
Okay sorry about just now coming back in.You guys are set for summoning. What Asher knows>Get a fucking protective circle. Shit can save a life.>Sacrifices increase potential and how amicable they are.>Dorothy has some tools or reagents you could use.>Location also might matter a bit. That said,> Contact Odin. Knowledge and wisdom equate to power. Might as well speak to one of the more humane gods.> Modify the Hydra summon. It's been useless and a sideliner for too long. (You can also see about figuring Magma here though the burn could be pretty heavy.)> Something else from greek mythos, perhaps a Cerberus?> You'd like to contract a real dragon. (open up your dragon catalog and give me a name! Has to be from world mythos and mind that size can matter.)>>35138430>>35138319This is very true. Asher acting on something he might not now about will be met with clear ignorance or educated guessing.>
>>35138430I meant whether Asher knows IC or ooc it doesn't matter. It's gonna end up the same, it's just gonna be written differently
>>35138546I'm sorry anon, but you're wrong. It matters quite a bit.
>>35138532> Modify the Hydra summon. It's been useless and a sideliner for too long. (You can also see about figuring Magma here though the burn could be pretty heavy.)
>>35138532>ODIN ODIN ODINAnd when that loses by a landslide>magma hydra is a go go

>>35138532> Contact Odin. Knowledge and wisdom equate to power. Might as well speak to one of the more humane gods.Faust recommended. Asher approved. Also, this was like one of the first things people wanted to do in this quest, so might as well..
>>35138532> Contact Odin. Knowledge and wisdom equate to power. Might as well speak to one of the more humane gods.I just can't resist. If it loses> Modify the Hydra summon. >>35138649Actually I know plenty about it.
>>35138532> Contact Odin. Knowledge and wisdom equate to power. Might as well speak to one of the more humane gods.I wonder when that one got sidelined.Must be somewhere around thread 9
>>35138628That sounds badass, but I think I'm going to go with the hydra.>>35138532> Modify the Hydra summon. It's been useless and a sideliner for too long. (You can also see about figuring Magma here though the burn could be pretty heavy.)

>>35138532>> Modify the Hydra summon. It's been useless and a sideliner for too long. (You can also see about figuring Magma here though the burn could be pretty heavy.)
>>35138632>Norse mythology has the worst summonsWut>>35138689>Hydra>Any redeeming qualities in its current form.
>>35138532> Contact Odin. Knowledge and wisdom equate to power. Might as well speak to one of the more humane gods.I hope we get to drink with the frosty fucker, can we compare eyepatches while our ravens talk?
>>35138689Or it doesn't lose the regen skills at all and has even better regen from being able to assimilate the ground around it for material. It's not like we ever use the thing anyway or have ever once seen it regen at all. It got taken down by a single spear the one time we used it in real combat.
>>35138532 End vote.
>>35138724Oh right, I remember why we stopped caring about it now
>>35138728By the way, I will allow for a grace period of no voting after a post to allow for some discussion. It was recommended so I want to see how it goes.
>>35138740What, for the next vote where we pick exactly what summon we want or what?
>>35138754I said that he should let people discuss important decisions instead of jumping right to the voting, but I don't know what he's saying here since he obviously didn't do it for this vote.
>>35138804>dran>being a dumbfuck since 1836
>>35138804You guys had some time to talk prior.
>>35138850It doesn't work unless you actually say "No votes for x minutes after this post will be counted" because people just start slinging votes at it and not discussing.
>>35138850Everything you do is wrong. Is that so hard to understand?
>>35138850>>35138875Or "Voting starts in X minutes, please discuss the choices during the time you have".People immediately started samefagging hardstyle after the prompt as indicated by having three times the number of votes as the previous prompt.
>>35138850You kinda need to tell people that's happening beforehand... Informing people of the discussion period after it's over and nobody used it is just all my why.
>>35138850I'm starting to think dran is a woman, no man on earth could fuck this much and this often
>>35138931I'm saying that it'll happen next time. And before the last question you guys already talked about some things.I'm writing now. Odin wins.
>>35138979>Odin wins.Based. Inb4 anon bitches about how Odin is going to screw us over.
>>35139033He is.And I voted for him

>>35139171Asherah spoke English, I'm sure Odin will too.
>>35139195He will speak YE OLDE ENGLISH just so that dran can write another anoying accent
You guys do realize that Odin's summons aren't going to want to do contracts, right? They're even less evil than Luci's ilk.I refuse to have uncontracted summons. It will be a disaster.
>>35139219Do you also think that Seelie Fae would deny a contract?Contracts are how shit is normaly done in mythology.I suspect that angels are a bit too proud for that
>>35139215>write another anoying accentAll written accents are annoying. Unless an accent is so thick that the character can't understand it, writing out an accent is just an eyesore for readers.
>inb4 really shitty and annoying SoL tier romance
>>35139251we just know that we have to get shit together when we draw up the first contract so they can't screw us to hard when they find a loop.
>>35139339Now I wanna find someone from Louisiana that speaks with an accent so thick it sounds like gibberish
In before Dran genderbends Odin
>>35139413I will find and kill him
What in the fuck are we even going to be summoning? I don't know dick about Norse stuff. The only things I know about are either to high-tier for us to summon, related to Loki (and thus Luci), something like Nidhogg which Odin wouldn't recommend to us unless he hates us, or are those ravens and if that's all we get out of this then I'm going to weep.
Guise prepare for shadowruns, but what are the chances that we knocked up Luci in the Astral layer?
>>35139446>picIs that Boner Robin dressed as Shinji?>>35139451Not very high.

Guys are on fire today.
>>35139482Nah, this is just what dudes raised by single moms are like. Especially when they don't have brothers.
>>35139525How long until Lucifer mind breaks Emilia into his sex kitten? We all know its coming
>>35139577Emilia is muffbuddies with Gaia. Lucifer trying to mess with her is like a one-way trip to an eternity locked away.
>>35139577>ntrI wouldn't be surprised
>>35139600>muffbuddiesThe fuck does that even mean?
>>35139627the muff refers to the vagina you uncultured swine
>>35139627Come on, anon. It should be really damn obvious.
>>35139674That doesn't explain anything>>35139682Fuck you it's not obvious
>>35139745It obviously means they friends and also have generous amounts of lesbian sex.
>>35139745Man, you are dense as fuck.Have you never once in your life heard someone jokingly call two close male friends "buttbuddies", which insinuates that they're gay with eachother?Same thing here. Anon called Emilia and Gaia "muffbuddies", simultaneously pointing out that they're close enough that Lucifer wouldn't want to mess with that overtly and making a joke gay joke about them.Fucking hell.
Everyone should take the time to look up Samhain. Specifically in regards to morrigan and Dagda. This is knowledge Asher should have with his Celtic mythos focus
>>35139905>Emilia is an impure whore>and a filthy dykeI'm not surprised, I am disappointed, dykes are scum
>>35139963Do you actually think she's a lesbian?
>>35139963>Not sure if trolling or genuine turbospergI guess you could be a different anon making a joke, but the guy who had to have "muffbuddies" explained to him seems dumb enough to make a serious post like yours.
>>35139963Are you going to get bored of this sooner or later or am I going to have to watch someone only pretending to be retarded all night?
>>35139949>Celtic mythos focusAs said before, that book in the dream wasn't determining his focus. Asher should still know about Samhain, but Celtic still isn't his focus. The book only determined which mythos would be more attracted to us in the short term
>>35140043I'm already bored. Not stopping though>>35139995Dykes are scum, what don't you get about this?
Did Dran die or something?

>>35138532 After breakfast you knock on the door. Three knocks for the rule of three, three moments and then, “Blessed Be.” The door opens and you're in Dorothy's shop.Solace stares silently at your passing from his pillow upon a stool, something of a knowing air about the feline. He's not as testy as before, wonder why?“Welcome! You came again! How are those focii treating you?”You scratch your chin a bit, thinking about exactly how to word this, “Well, incidentally, it seems that the amulet was a bit too ripe with sexual energy and it confounded my senses-” What the hell is coming out of your mouth? You can't help but to keep smiling. “- and I ended up sharing more than just a bed with a significant other. The dagger-” You look down at your arm, Hydra stitched it up good and used her blood to accelerate healing. It still stings like a bitch. “Seems to have a penchant for killing.”Dorothy seems thoughtful for a moment as she brings a nail to press lightly against painted violet lips,”Such a shame. Perhaps they were not meant for you? Well, more the dagger really. The amulet worked wonders.” A knowing, coy smile draws itself across her lips.“What do you come here for now?”“I would like to know about runes, Norse ones, if you're privy..”Dorothy smiles, stepping from behind the counter, she moves a curtain of beads into another section of her shop, “This way, my dear...”She offered runic stones, a book of runes translating their meaning and descriptions, and finally a small effigy of a raven cut from Ashwood. All of this in exchange for one service.“So about these services if I might ask... Is there any restriction on what you would demand of me?”
>>35140174>raven effigyOh my, I do like the sound of that, I don't like this nice talk though
>>35140216Meh that's the one favor she used.We are always utterly polite in her shop
>>35140248Yes, and it's written really odd
>>35140393Ehh, it's fine.
>>35140393>Yes, and it's written really oddWhat do you mean with that?Dranzy waking up never
>the hydra will never be useful
>>35140528It just seems off, it's not badly written, it's just off, I don't know any other way to explain it. It feels plasticy I guess
>>35140559I think that's the intention. Asher's only speaking that way because he's contractually obligated.
>>35140559I meant for it to feel like that because it's not Asher's intention, he doesn't even like it.
>>35140559Probably because Asher can only fake politeness as well as any mediocre politician. We may be polite, it doesn't mean we're genuine.
>>35140559It's not supposed to sound natural, we're being magically forced to talk like that
>>35140174>not saying that the wand was awesome and we love itOk, then.
>>35140574So dorthys contract can't even write good dialogue for its mouth puppets?I'm not sure what I just wrote but it held meaning to me less than three seconds ago.
>>35140624It's not the contract that's speaking. Asher's the one coming up with this shit, he's just being compelled to come up with it by the contract.
>>35140654So Asher can't into politeness at all?
>>35140667He's a douche. The only time he's been even remotely polite was the first time he met Asherah, and that went out the window fast as fuck.
>>35140689I think he was kinda polite with Faust. It's hard to be a dick to cool old grandpa.
>>35140719He's also somewhat polite with Saph so Marcus doesn't fuck him up
>>35140174 Dorothy cackles out loud, like a witch you'd say, but there's something admirably attractive in tune of her voice. “Well, it's nothing that would endanger your life normally. I will not ask for eternal service or anything like that. I abide by the rule of three after all, and I'd have good come back to me- no. My services will be participation in ritual and spellwork, the possible collection of a non-contracted debt to be paid, the creation of circumstance for exceptional crafts and so forth. I run a business after all and your abilities are a commodity.”“But how do you afford...?” You look around, the shop's like an antique store filled to the brim with magic and furnished with simple yet exquisite displays. Running a charity couldn't possibly-“Sometimes I request a donation. Some of my clients are rather wealthy.”“Right... Well thank you Dorothy, have a good day Solace.”“Stay healthy Customer.” The cat says as he snoozes away, eyes pressed shut. You almost reach out to touch him, but his eyes snap open and a low rumble boils at the back of his throat, “Don't.”After waiting for nightfall, you take the dimension door out to the woods. You still don't know where this is. You pull your clothing a bit tighter, shivering with cold on your breath as a wind blows past. Emilia, Echo, and Hydra are with you to watch over the process. You know that you could never sustain the summoning of Odin... But you could always ask for a recommendation...
>>35140841 A circle drawn, runes set and the ashen raven placed in the center to be meditated upon. You take a breath and concentrate, slipping into the astral world, you see your boundaries set. Whatever will be summoned shall be contained by the intent of the circle. You inscribed runes for peace, law, protection, and balance. You don't want some psycho prick this time.“Hey, I want to talk to Odin!” You call out into the ether and your words carry on a great distance. After a while, a shadowy figure forms before you, a single shining eye. “Ye who doth not have entry yet to Asgard, what dost thou-”“Not even Asherah talked to me like this. Is that really necessary?”The figure smirks, “Nay. It is not. What can I do for you as a kin of sacrifice?”“I'm looking for power and friends. I was wondering what you could do for me.”“And it would be trade of what you could do for me.”Of course, you can't help but to roll your eyes here in the astral, always something... “What'll it be? I'm used to this anyway.”Odin offers a sly grin, “You've been touched by the gestalt of Loki and Lucifer, your Lucia. Honestly, I'm more interested that you've gone from them to seek me out.”“Yes?” You cross your arms. Where is this going...”“You've done a some foul things, at least by the purview of others. I understand their necessity and the cause for such action. I will not hold your past against you. However.”Always some catch. “I will ask that you have a warrior's decency. Do not desecrate the dead and have some dignity. This is no contract, but know that this is what I'd expect of someone requesting my patronage.”“That's it?”Odin nods, “That is it. We may drink another time. Though I will give you the gift of a companion.” “A companion?” You raise an eyebrow, “So long as I can form a contract.”

Probably volunteers at the soup kitchen and donated money to charity and read books to orphans.Marcus is a crazy fucker and an asshole. His worst may not be as bad as Tony's worst, but he doesn't really have anything going on except for the bad. It's just all crazy asshole all the time.

Landing upon glorious white sabatons, she salutes with blonde hair, blue eyes and a winged helm beset upon a young face.“This is a young Valkyrie that's yet to earn her steed, Legna.” Aron Nora“It Is good to meet you sir, I shall offer you my sword and shield!” Her confidence despite apparent youth is apparent.“This is it? A new recruit?” You say with a near scowl. You're ungrateful, and sure. It's a pain in the ass. You expected something... something more.“Don't you worry. She's plenty fierce for the trials you have ahead of you. Her youth and lack of legend lean her to be simple to summon. Her shield is strong, and her blade is sharp. With a warrior's spirit she lends herself to be swift as the wind and as flexible as a bending river. She will help you become a warrior of legend and aid your cause as you shape her into a true Valkyrie.”“If you would take her on, I will leave the two of you to discuss your contract."> Anything else you wish to ask?> "I'll take her."> "No."> (other)

>>35141573>man literally owning a woman>man being an ass to womanWe ded now
>>35141477> "I'll take her."I mean we might as well give it a shot. Not taking her is like spitting in his face. If she doesn't work out we can change our mind then.We can probably subtly influence/thoughtform her a bit since she doesn't have her own legend, so moralfaggotry warrior code shit shouldn't be an issue, at least in the long run.But for the record, I vehemently oppose waifuing this bitch.
>>35141667>waifuing summons>not going to blow up in our face
So what are we going to do for the contract? Standard "don't kill/attack me or my allies" and then tack on a bit about keeping things secret if we ask her to? Should we require that she not leave us to bleed out on the ground should we become injured? Could offend her some that we think so lowly of her, but I would like at least one of our summons to be obligated to save our dumb ass and not be able to just leave us to die if they want us gone and the opportunity presents itself.
>>35141667I concur, trust no woman, they are all evil and will be Asher's downfall
>>35141667Im with this guy, waifuing a summon is always a bad idea

>>35141691We probably need to include a clause about how when her honor feels violated, she can't interfere, and should just fuck off instead. All that depends on what her personality is like though. We definitely need to have a clause saying she can't fuck with Donner. I feel like she's gonna have a problem with him. Son't particularly give a shit how she feels about Morgan because I'd honestly like this Valkyrie here to keep an eye on her anyways.
>>35141760Too bad she is a member of the organization that wants to kill us
>>35141813Implying the Dragon wouldn't have been Glaurung tier smart and evil
>>35141844Doesn't mean she wants to kill us. Asher was actually fairly nice to her and while shit may have gone fucked up along the way, he is the reason that she's not living in that shithole apartment in niggerville barely able to afford to eat.

May you find some honor in your heart, and mind that Legna does have her own feelings.” The raven feathers disperse, one taking a shining eye as they melt into the ether. All that's left here is the beautiful Valkyrie that stares back at you with a mix of determination and appraisal in her eyes, “There is something I would first like to ask.”“What?”“I would like to be able to send the dead on their way during moments of peace. I guess it would be okay if it were only the ones that fell by my blade.” Her eyes shift and you get a feeling of what's going on.She doesn't respect you. >>35141990> “The ones you slay is fine. Anything else?> “Send all that die a warrior's death. Spare none from your touch.”Something in the middle of that?does she mean body or soul?

Can anyone tell me what the difference between the first two options are? Obviously the second means that she sends more people, but I don't really understand the implications beyond that.

>>35143487What would the magic practice be?I remember that you said Asher hasn't had much (any) practice with using Alchemy for combat applications, so could we do that? Or maybe see what the wand does for Hydro since it's supposed to boost that too?

>>35143646>Where would we gain the skills to improve current summonsWe already know how to do it. We improved Donner on our own, then Morgan offered to take him on the wyld hunt and that was a second change.
Sorry.Magic Practice will have a second vote and cover areas asked about and voted for. You'll also test out the wand.Turning the Hydra into magma will be messy. Real messy.
>>35143578I want a fire summon but i would rather upgrade Legna with a flaming sword once she has shown her worth or go salamander-dragon or phoenix-sun god
>>35143665>Real messy.Do you mean in terms of landscape destruction, magical strain, or it's going to attack us or what?
>>35143633Definitely gonna second a big fucking pit if we go through with Hydra transformation.>>35143665...I'll note that you tried to warn us.
>>35143665Would making it into magma really change its effectiveness much? Seems like a waste of time to me
>>35143668Yes you mongoloid she has geo. She can help with making a pit.
>>35143668Jesus Christ, anon. Stop being such a chode about things just because you don't like her. She's already here and she has geokinesis. If we need to dig a pit, she should help.
Isn't magma so hot that it will ignite anything within something like a dozen meters? And aren't we in a forest?
So our reasoning for a magma hydra is that magma is better than water? This seems like a shit idea to me.
Okay... so magic practice seems to have won.
>>35143657could you elaborate on that? Also we could upgrade Ravens to Crows apprently they are as smart as 7-10 year olds. Should be better to gather more information.andCrows are associated with war and death in Irish mythology. In Cornish folklore crows are associated with the "otherworld" and so must be treated with respect. In Australian Aboriginal mythology, the crow is an ancestral being. In Buddhism the protector of the Dharma is represented by a crow in one of his physical/earthly forms.
>>35143756>could you elaborate on that? It's exactly what I said. After we took the hex off Donner, we modified him. Changed him from "vicious animal" into "cunning hunter". Then afterwards Morgan asked if we wanted her to do a tad more to him, so she took him on the wyld hunt. When he came back, he was some kind of knight of winter / hunter hybrid thing.
>>35143756I'm pretty dure that ravens are about as smart as crow
>>35143756Crows a shitRavens a best
>>35143724I think the idea was that the hydra is useless as it is, and we don't really have a raw power / damage summon, and magma is better than water for raw damage and would fuck up most things just by its presence.
>>35143724I just want to... DO something with the damn thing, even if we get rid of it.>>35143734In a related note, it'd be kinda cool if we finally had some kind of contact with the waitress. I feel like it could make a good scene for Asher trying to stumble through that awkward shit, but mostly I just want to get it out of the back of my mind.
>>35143850>implying Asher caresShe's enlightened now, she should be thankful
>>35143850I think our baby hydra is doing just fine in astral limbo
>>35143871I know Asher wouldn't care, which is why I'm asking Dranzy to actually make an encounter happen against his will. I know damn well Asher wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole, but I think it would be interesting if he HAD to.
Anyone else thinking we should blow some ZG money on a summoning room? Metal circles inlaid into stone walls, circles in circles in circles, runes on runes on runes. Get the whole place blessed by as many religions and cultures as we can. Etc.
>>35143942Problem is that our main method for getting the summons out of the circles has been to just break them.So we'd need some switches to move the circle parts kinda like railroad tracks.
>>35143942We'd just accidentally summon another fallen angel and they'd break everything.
>>35143942Circles on all the i ward facing walls. Outside absolutely covered in protective runes and other shit. It could also serve as a panic room to hide from whatever we pissed off
>>35143982A hatch in the ceiling so that we can blink straight out up into the air in the event that things go completely tits-up.
>>35143999An alarm that we can trigger near by to let everyone know Asher fucked something up
>>35144032RUN MOTHERFUCKERS! I DON'T KNOW HOW I DID IT, BUT I SUMMONED CTHULU MADE OUT OF SWAN DICKS! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
>>35143942All of it needs to be reinforced, and the circles need to be deep as hell, can't have the summon melting off the top layer and waltzing off
>>35144071We could probably set it up deep deep underground with only a portal door leading to it if we got Dorothy to help, shit she could probably rent it out to other people when we aren't using it, get dat sweet favors
>>35144032Get a sprinkler system installed, except instead of water it sprays out grains of stuff with binding runes constructed out of atoms with some alchemy bullshit.
>>35144102>runes on an atomic levelMuh dick
>>35144100That sounds kewl.
>>35143734Does learning science shit count as magic practice now?
>>35144197TO THE ZEITGOOGLE!
>>35143942That would be one giant fucking room, good thing we've got a near infinite cash sourceThink we could do shit like Faust did so we could make the place hate other people? Maybe have it be a black list instead of a white list. Maybe have a code word have to be said to break the circles, maybe have some magic dickery going on in there so only we can hear the key word being said
>>35144212Now I kinda wanna turn this into a full fledged lab and shit, not like money is a problem
>>35144233The second we get Alchemy to Adept, I was planning to call for us to go pester Saph about a lab. We'll need one anyway.
>>35144233>giant lab built inside a giant room of full on top of the line magic securityFund it
>>35144260>grandpa Faust getting grumpy that our lab is better than his
>>35144212>not having it linked directly to our will>wave a hand circles broken>wave a hand doors sealed>wave a hand, bitch 2332 added to get the fuck out my lab list>wave a hand corpse you were working on is incinerated
>>35144346>give the whole thing a British butler magic aiWant
>>35144388>It's a thoughtform / alchemy lab assistant that vaguely reminds you of Dr. House.
>>35144346>multiple access levels>Da baws Faustmaster>Cheif whatever>lead whatever>mook ass fuck>PabloPablo cleans the place up, doesn't ask questions, good guy.
>>35144428>inplying XIX doesn't get her own access level
>>35143487 The next few days you deign to practice magic, taking the wand in hand, you practice with Emilia, and Echo in the woods, Hydra not too far, just watching at everyone do their own thing. You head down to the river as a means of strengthening your connection with the power of water. In short time you find that any water wielded by the wand blackens as though polluted. As you turn it into ice it's frail and brittle, crumbling with the slightest contact.Conversely, it explodes into superheated steam when you deign to heat it. A whiff and you can tell that it's kind of noxious, the slight smell of sulfur and smoke...The effects the wand has on Fiend are... Wild to say the least. Once the first fiend is cast it rampages out of control. Without a target it ends after 3-5 detonations. When you turn it on a tree it passes its flames around it leaving it unharmed. Yet then you turn it to a stone and it continues until it's destroyed. The Black Wand is dangerous, almost as though it has a mind of its own- for the destruction of everything but plants. You're hesitant to tamper with whatever energy's effecting it. Who knows what other effects it could cause? Over this time you train your alchemy skill and the others join you: Henry's out here practicing with a bow enchanted with the power of his soul. Arrows flying far and deep, Saph instructing him on alterations such as homing arrows, rope arrows and more.Emilia's started to test out new methods of projectiles. Shards of frozen blood no smaller than a bullet shed and thrown impacting trees and stone with deceptive force. Splintering wood and shattering even the river stones. She's constantly improving.
Saph is just gonna kill Asher when he asks for all this shit.
>>35144540 Echo's taken more to controlling the will of her spiritual flame. Lacking heat she's been able to use it to block, grab, and even shoot out in short bursts.Near the last day she sees you attempt an alchemical variation of lightning and immediately sets herself to try replicating it to some avail. Short bursts of sparks here and there, though she quickly grows bored with it, instead trying to do other little tricks.By the end of the week you're more than a little confident in conversion methods and everyone seems ready.
>>35144540Who the fuck is Henry again?
>>35144589Archer fag donneth rekt I think
>>35144589That one dude that Donneth put in the hospital during the training exercise
>>35144540Updated the wand description if you can copypaste this into there sometime.>-Blackened Poplar wand: Bears the memory of a forest burned down and the rage of old lands. This wand serves as a focus for spells involving fire and water. Causes use of Fiend to chain multiple detonations until the target is destroyed, though it will avoid plants. Fire is blackened and turns smokey, water polluted, and steam more violent and noxious. Ice formed using the wand is far weaker than normal.
>>35144560>Near the last day she sees you attempt an alchemical variation of lightningHow? I thought all we could do is transmute between fire/water/air/earth.
>>35144664Fire/air/waterIt wasn't successful.
>>35144675>waterIs Asher dumb?
>>35144675I don't think I understand how alchemy works, at all
>>35144766I understand so little at this point I've just stopped voting when magic is involved
>>35144686Vapor friction like with clouds.Heat to apply it.Air as a medium.
>>35144824Nah, I have literally no idea how alchemy works, is it just SCIENCE: the magic?
>>35144845Seems more to me like mixing different aspects of the elements together to create a desired effect
>>35144877So pseudo science?
>>35144905Yeah that's my take on it at least. We still haven't seen much alchemy actually performed yet though
>>35144560 “We'll be taking the place of models for Eloc's company.” Is the first thing that Saph says during the debriefing.A million questions run through your mind concerning the implications. She gets to the “why” quickly enough.“They'll be showcasing prototype models of various new fashions, technology, and textiles that are set to be mass produced or the government and private sector. These pieces will be vital in enhancing our performance and making a part of us known. This does not mean to show your faces. The equipment will feature full coverage. In the final showing you will all walk off stage and Eloc will declare you thieves.”“So we're procuring equipment illegally to avoid him being affiliated with us.” You say, stating the fact for everyone else.”“Exactly.” Saphira confirms. You can't help but to smirk a kind of smug grin, “What in the world would be worth stealing when we have magic?“A suit that makes a burning building feel like a spring day, armor that can stop a bullet dead, an augmentation that can increase a normal human's agility to beyond human level, and those are just a few.”“So?” You're really failing to see the point here.”Saph's eyes lock on you, smiling, “It's good for nerves especially.”Right.So you're going to be up on stage... Really, what's the worst that can happen at a fashion show? >[End Thread]Sorry about the slow rate, gonna do another thread sometime late during the week and at a regular time on Friday. Had some issues during this run aside from the typical clog up during a summoning thread which really didn't occur this time.
>>35145196I still fail to see how any if those are good.
>>35145196>A suit that makes a burning building feel like a spring dayWell that's kinda useful I guess. Should be really useful when/if we try to mod the hydra.
>>35145219Saph seems to think we are gonna do anything ourselves. Summoning and long range magic somehow gave her this impression. I don't like the idea of her being a god
>>35145219Think of all the raw materials that are in these things that we can use in alchemy
>>35145242Considering our track records on engagement, I'd rather have this stuff than not have it. We've not been too good at not getting into close range shit.At the very least, it should stop us from blowing ourself up again like when we tried to use Knight in a room full of methene.
>>35145257That was my first thought. If we can figure out how to make more of this stuff, then that's fucking amazing.Copy, improve, incorporate into our biology, add more shit on top of that.
>>35145263No it won't, fire proof isn't explosion proof, we are still gonna crack our head open
>>35145275You miss the part where it can stop bullets like nothing? If it can't stop explosions, the I'll be surprised.
>>35145273>everyone's cool gadgets go missing>Asher comes out of his lab and gives it back>he has no need for your foolish mortal toys any longerLearn, adapt, grow
>implying the real prize isn't the LIMIT we'll be getting from the inevitable fight when things go to shitThe suit is just a cool bonus that makes it so we don't die from a stray bullet or accidentally lighting ourself on fight or something.
>>35145196Oh. I guess The Clothes person works for Eloc?
>>35145196>sometime late during the weekSo like Wednesday/Thursday or are we talking more Sat/Sun?
>>35145196>all this hassleI dont think our lab/summoning room idea is gonna be viable when we have do shit real roundabout like
>>35145352It's more to the point of giving an answer to, "Why do they have our gear but BETTER?"And keeping suspicion at a minimum.
>>35145352What? The only reason we're doing this roundabout is because these are suits made only by Eloc and we're going to be wearing them for missions where people will see them used. They don't want the suits, and this Eloc, being associated with Zeitgeist. That's totally different from a secret lab that nobody but Zeitgeist and our test subjects will ever see.
>>35145352>completely missing the point
>>35145381>implying the zeitgeist gets to see our labThey don't need to know what we're doing
>>35145374So I guess we're never gonna get wizard robes then?
>>35145352Buying raw materials is far less suspicious than buying top of the line military grade hardware
>>35145409Hydra's likely going to see the lab while it's operational. And Eloc's goons are going to have to at least deliver the equipment and materials to the place and probably install it for us because fuck moving 2 tons of salt by ourself.
>>35145440>not Mage contracting the workers so they can't blab about shit and they get memory wiped after they finish>inplying hydra counts as zeitgeist
>>35145467Asher is just gonna live inside the summoning room isn't he? Luci couldn't touch that shit if she wanted to. Which reminds me, if we ever do it, we need anti-scrying runes EVERYWHERE no one can see the madness that is Faust jr's lab
>>35145374Thanks for running Dranzy. Was a great thread.
>How ya doin', eyepatch buddy?
FUCK. I forgot to post this idea during the thread when we did magic training. If anyone else thinks this is a good idea and wants to try to set it up, try to remember it for next thread.Anyway, here it is: One of the main benefits to using summoning for spell programming is that it can detect things in the astral. It's how the hypothetical Wisp programs would work; they'd target astral signatures and chase them. I figured that we could take advantage of this and make an early warning program. Something that scans the astral around us and beeps at us if it sees a spell about to go off near us. Something like an astral spidey sense.
