Samefagging this early in a morning is fine
You spend a lot of time with Jal, she’s still suffering from morning sickness, so she’s avoiding strong smells or flavours at the moment. You manage to get her to focus on her studies and by the end of the voyage she can speak in true common, when she wants to. The occasional word of cant still slips in of course. You spend a lot of time with your infant dragon, answering her questions about...everything and ensuring that she doesn’t get into trouble. It’s clear that someone has told her that young dragons cannot be punished in Drache and she’s got it into her head that this means she can do anything she wants. When you’re not watching her she starts destroying things: chewing up objects, clawing her way through doors, things like that. How will you handle this behaviour?>Sternly, set firm rules>Explain that it’s wrong to destroy other peoples stuff>Bribery, reward her with treats when she doesn’t destroy stuff>Other

You make sure that you set firm rules for Ebonsong to obey, whilst explaining why it’s wrong to destroy other peoples things. It works, and she stops destroying things, but now that she understands the concept of owning things, she wants toys. There’s not much on an airship but you buy some ship repair supplies from the crew and Ebonsong is happy with a box of old tools and wooden planks, alternating between chewing on some of them, and trying to build things out of them. After several failed attempts, you manage to contact Isla again within her dreams.1/2>>34056685Happy to be of service
>>34056718You’re walking down a long, gloomy-looking corridor. Young children walk past you, their shoulders hunched and fear in their eyes.A palpable aura of dread permeates this place. You hear shouting coming from up ahead, investigating you see a door partially open. Peering inside you see a classroom, desks and chairs and children, aged 10-12 or so.They’re not working, their attention is at the teacher at the front of the classroom, who is shouting at a young girl, calling her stupid and useless, that she’ll never be worth anything, that her only hope in life is to find a man with low standards who will pity on her. She’s trying to write something on the blackboard in front of the class but is only making unrecogniseable squiggles. The man shouting in her ear seems less like a person and more like a caricature of a stern teacher: tall, imposing in black formal clothes, a face red with anger and a huge moustache, spittle sprays as he yells.“Useless, Wendmore, stupid, useless, girl!” he bellows “Can’t get the formulae right, can you? And you want to be a wizard, you’ll never be a wizard stupid girl, go home, I have real students to teach!”The other students start laughing at young Isla Wendmore, aged 10.What do you do?>Take control of the nightmare (and make what changes?)>Wait until it’s over>Act within the nightmare, confront the teacher with words>Act within the nightmare, confront the teacher with violence>Other

As you talk young Isla slowly grows older until she’s her true age and with a few triumphant strokes of chalk, writes arcane formulae on the board.“Ha!” she says, throwing the chalk at the teacher, who disappears when it hits him “Take that Master Durjum!”“Oh Sireyi” she says, an anticipatory smile on her face “At least the second part of this dream is going to be better.” As she speaks her school clothes are replaced by a dressing gown.“Actually” you say “It’s the real me again.”Her face goes white, then red, her clothes blur and are then replaced by her travelling clothes. “Tough time in school I take it?” you ask“Yeah” she says, her eyes losing focus as she remembers, and then shivers “Still” she continues, “That’s done with”“Do I often feature in your dreams?” you ask curiouslyShe blushes and looks away “I miss you” she says quietly, and doesn’t elaborate.“About your research into the demon lords” you ask, “Have you made any progress?”“Ugh” she says, throwing up her hands “Yes, no, I could tell you about dozens of demon lords, their cults, their sphere’s of interest, and just, y’know, YUCK” she says, sticking two fingers in her mouth “you owe me big-time for having to read all of that. But” she continues “I can’t really narrow down who this *Warrior* and *Ruler* are, I’ve just convinced the guild to let me look at some of the more restricted books, so hopefully I’ll have more for you in a few days.”“Have you, Jianxi and Matthias left yet?” you askShe shakes her head “No, 4 more days until we do.”“Something happened” you say “With Jal and Sofia” you explain about their pregnancies, how they came about, and a brief overview of the conversations you’ve had with the girls.Isla herself doesn’t react but the dream around you flickers through dozens of iterations, reflecting her emotional turmoil.“So” she says faintly “Are you two...you three, together?”“Not in that way” you say “Honestly, I’ve still not sorted through my own feelings about...anyone...really, I’m just too focused on my mission. Maybe when I’m not always rushing off to the next fight I’ll have a chance to think about it. Until then, all we’ve decided is that they want me to be a part of the children’s lives.”“Oh” she says, thinking “So...you think that particular magical accident could happen again?”1/2
For a brief moment in her dream she appears to be heavily pregnant, before returning to normal. You chat about a few more things, before the dream ends, but about nothing of consequence.Eventually you reach the airship port, it’s a little close to the town of Ravensport, you only have a weeks overland travel to get there.Eventually you come to the crest of a hill, overlooking Ravensport. The twon hasn’t changed, but just outside of it is a vast military camp, there are thousands of soldiers down there. This far away there’s no chance they’ll spot you, but you’ll need to be careful when you approach. Now you’re in the area you need to decide if you’re just going to go in openly and confront Lord Ninver, or maybe try and sneak in. But first...As you wonder what to do, Sofia draws you aside to talk to you privately.“I won’t officially be queen until I am crowned” she says “But what Ninver has done is high treason, I don’t want him captured when we take my kingdom back, I want him dead.”What Lord Ninver has done is high treason, though it might take a court months to decide that. What Sofia is doing is asking you to kill someone who may end up surrendering.>Spoken like a true Paladin of Konig>As you wish, your highness>I won’t kill him if he surrenders>Talk her out of it>Other[OOC Note: Killing Ninver in cold blood wouldn’t be approved of by your code, but neither is it against it, so you would have no chance of falling.Ninver has committed high treason, Sofia has the legal authority to pronounce him guilty and determine sentence, and he’s an enemy commander.]2/2

>>34057065>love relationships would change the theme of this story quite a bit.As long as they are given the appropriate time to develop during calmer times, I see no problem with it, irregardless of numbers. The only fear I have is, if we do start a romantic relationship in earnest, especially with several people, its gonna conjure the dread specter of waifu wars on us everytime more than the core readers show up. Which could make the "taking it slow" rather impossible if people start trying to force relationships with random characters.
>>34057103Ugh don't remind me about the waifu wars. At least back than there was simply Isla. This time there's 3 (more like 2 vs 1) which means at least twice the conflict.
>>34057103>irregardlessRegardless, I would prefer to solve this by playing matchmaker. I still think Isla has more of a case of hero-worship than true love and Sophia and Jal, while infatuated with Siyeri, are not long-term prospective partners. And at least Jal doesn't even want us to be that.
>>34057065we've already got two girls pregnant bro, its like totally not going to stay platonic for long
>>34057103The only remedy to waifu wars is either not having any waifus at all (although that would mean sacrificing an important part of any story) or QM fiat. Not a flag system either, because that would result in outright deliberate sabotage.I'm saying that as someone who is fine with any romance, or lack thereof (although personally I have hoped for Sireyi to find herself a suitable male counterpart - perhaps a paladin with matching values, or a diplomancer wizard, something of the sorts)
>>34057124I doubt we're going to have waifu wars for a long time>>34057145>by accident
>>34057145I don't see any reason why it shouldn't. It was literally a magical accident. If anything, it means we are going to be planeshifting every few days to visit the kids. How will they even call us? Daddy? Auntie? Mommy? Sireyi?
>>34057192Sireyi sounds best.
>>34057144>I still think Isla has more of a case of hero-worship than true love and Sophia and Jal, while infatuated with Siyeri, are not long-term prospective partners. And at least Jal doesn't even want us to be that.Isla having Hero worship, doesn't mean there can't be genuine love here. But I agree that its something build on a soft ground.Jal and Sofia on the other hand definitly want to be with Seiryi, both of them. And I see no reason why they wouldn't be longterm-prospective partners. Jal and Sofias only problem was fear of being cheated on essentially, which isn't a problem here and they clearly want Seiryi.>>34057161I personally, would have liked a quest without any romance at all. But, given the pregnancie situation and since Sofia and Jal want to try having a relationship with Seiryi, it would be worse to completly kill the possibility in my eyes. Though that doesn't mean the marriage and such needs to happen during the story.Or at all, to be fair. But I see no real reason against it, as of now, and killing a character relationship just for sheer principle seems even worse to me.
>>34057208jal + sofia relationship forced though pregnancyisla built on hero worship
>>34057219>jal + sofia relationship forced though pregnancyIts not forced through the pregnancie at all. The two of them had feelings for Seiryi already before then, and nothing forced them trying to pursue Seiryi romantically afterwards. Nor is Seiryi really forced to do it, although there is no real reason against it, given that all involved want it, and it would be good for the children.
>>34057219They wanted to be with us before that was known, and nothing about the pregnancy forces the relationship to be romantic or sexual.A relationship with Isla would be partially based on hero worship, but that phenomenon tends to fade as one gets to know their hero and would likely be replaced by genuine affection.
>>3405720810 threads later: Waifu wars the quest aka pringles guard quest all over again.
>>34057241I don't understand the whole concept of waifu waring when we can simply practice polyamory.I mean SERIOUSLY, why even have waifu wars when we can have a harem?
>>34057145I don't know about you, but if I found out that some random girl I knew was suddenly pregnant, I wouldn't find that romantic at all. If I wasn't planning on becoming a parent it would be the opposite, really.>>34057208As I remember, Sophia considered it a challenge when we told her she didn't have a chance but she can decide whatever she wants. Jal just thinks Sireyi is hot and even plain said so. She would be okay with just Sophia but wants to get Sireyi's booty as well.>Sofia and Jal want to try having a relationship with SeiryiThere are relationship beyond romantic involvement. Given their pregnancies it would be slightly wrong to just abandon them. This doesn't give them free reign to force us into a sexual relationship.>>34057234The pregnancy was only brought up once by them. When Jal said Sireyi should fuck them as an apology. Which Sireyi rightly refused.>all involved want itOther than Sireyi you mean? It would go against her principles just as much as it would have been against them a month earlier. Not saying those principles are iron-clad, but what you describe has no effect on them.
>>34057241There isn't really a waifu war. As of now the only question is. Romantic relationship with Jal and Sofia, Y/N.Thats not really a waifu war. Sieryi accepting a polygamous relationship, could however open up the gates to future waifu wars when people try to have her slut around on the excuse that polygamous means she would sleep with everyone and anyone.
>>34057259It depends pretty strongly on what race the girl was, imo.
>>34057259>It would go against her principlesWhat principles ?Sofia already said she wants to give it a try.>This doesn't give them free reign to force us into a sexual relationship. And we made as much clear. There is no issue of force. The question is if Seiryi wants it or not.
“I'm not killing anyone who surrenders, especially if they can be thrown into dungeon to be judged.” You say “He is only a threat due to his political power. Once you are back home, he will be neutralized. And he will hang in due time.”Sofia scowls at you “I thought Paladins were supposed to fight evil” she says“Yes” you say “But we’re not supposed to execute people just because we dislike them”“Fine!” she says, and walks away, clearly finished with the conversation. So how to get to the Island?>Enter Ravensport in disguise, hire a boat>Sneak into Ravensport and steal a boat>Teleport to the Island, hope its magical guardian recognises you>Fly to the island, carrying your allies, flying high up so the army can’t see you of course>Go to another port, make a deal with the smugglers who supply the island (safer, but takes more time)>OtherIf flying, you can carry any 2 of your allies at once, except Bokin, you can just about carry Bokin on his own.Going alone or with some of your party has a greater chance of success, but you’ll be leaving some behind, and you might need to fight once you get to the island.Who is going?>Sireyi alone>Everyone>Only some (who?)
>>34057259>Other than Sireyi you mean?Seiryis principles aren't in question here. Absolutely everyone agrees. And we have made it clear, that any klind of romantic relationship would have to take time and may culminate in marriage before any kind of sexual relationship starts.
>>34057270But what if Sireyi seriously loves those people too? You act as if slutting around is the only option when polyamous relationships can simply be based off multiple loving relationships. Also since when does having a poly relationship equal sexual content? We're not choosing to fuck, we're choosing to have a relationship.
>>34057297Teleport and Everyone.
>>34057297>Enter Ravensport in disguise, hire a boat>Everyone
>>34057270The thing is, sleeping around fits Velya's doctrine. Champion of sluts and all that. While I don't know why Sireyi decides to keep her virginity, I imagine avoiding that reputation might have part in that.>>34057296Her principle of wanting to safe herself for marriage. Them being pregnant has no relation with Sireyi suddenly abandoning that plan. But their pregnancy has been brought up several times as a reason to start a sexual relationship. And so far it has remained the only reason to do so.
>>34057297We're sorry for so much discussion on relationships Pally if you're annoyed anyhow>Teleport to the Island, hope its magical guardian recognises you>Everyone besides gendric, barrier against demons and all that
>>34057318>We're not choosing to fuck, we're choosing to have a relationship.I would have no problem with that. But in reality I have little faith that it will actually work out like that. I already said, I fear people will use it as excuse to try to make her slut around. I have no issue with involving other partners over time with Seiryi, as long as all of her then partners agree and its understood that Seiryi does not have physical relationships outside of marriage. Which requires to spend some significant amount of time to get closer to that person.>>34057297That response kinda contradicts the majority tone of "You can kill him if you want". And since this is a pretty big deal, I find that a bit problematic. Literally no one choose the "ttalk her out of it" option, which she just now did.In either case:>Enter Ravensport in disguise, hire a boat>Everyone
>>34057339You need to work on your reading comprehension. We talked about a ROMANTIC relationship, not a sexual one. Literally no one here has ever said anything about Seiryi having to sleep with them because of it. The question is to start a romantic relationship that may culminate in marriage.
>>34057297Guys... you do understand gendric is a demon right? The barrier whilst weak protects against demons...>>34057297>Enter Ravensport in disguise, hire a boat>Everyone if Gendric can pass barrier, if not than everyone besides Gendric
>>34057297Last time, Bokin made an ice raft. Can he do so again? Would be better than stealing a boat.>>34057318What kind of relationship do you propose then? And regarding the slutting around: Several people have proclaimed romantic interest in Sireyi. Currently, there is no reason for Sireyi to prefer one over the others. If she is known to have several romantic partners more wannabe partners will present themselves (she is highly attractive after all). This is enough to get a reputation as a slut.A question for you all: Why would Sireyi want to start a relationship with Jal and Sophia?
>>34057406You've said it yourself, don't make us repeat it.Also >This is enough to get a reputation as a slut. That is completely missing the topic point and came outta left field.
>>34057318>Since when does having a poly relationship equal sexual contentSince the definition of the word:>Polygamy is the state or practice of being married to more than one person at the same time>Polyamory is the practice, desire, or acceptance of having more than one intimate relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved.>>34057339That isn't part of her doctrine, Velya's just more okay with it than other gods. And it was brought up as a reason to start a romantic relationship, which might one day evolve into a sexual one. After marriage.
>>34057297Thought we voted to say Sofia can kill him if she wants, oh well good enough.Ice raft if possible, otherwise>Teleport to the Island, hope its magical guardian recognises you>Everyone
>>34057406>A question for you all: Why would Sireyi want to start a relationship with Jal and Sophia?Because all involved have shown interest in wanting to pursue one. Why would Seiryi not want to give it a chance to have a closer relationship with the mothers of her children ?> If she is known to have several romantic partnersBut she is not, nor would she. She is open to the possibility of having a marriage with several people, provided all these people love each other. She could imagine a romantic relationship and possible marriage with Jal and Sofia because Jal and Sofia love eachother in addition to (maybe) Seiryi. Any addtional partner tot hat, would need to be just as loved by those two (or whatever other partners Seiryi might have) as by her.Seiryi and Veyla is open to polygamy, not Harems. Veyla is explicetly against relationships with a power imbalance, which a Harem would be.
>>34057406>Bokin made an ice raft. Can he do so again?Yes>>34057375>That response kinda contradicts the majority tone of "You can kill him if you want"I'm sorry if it came off that way, I read the voting more as Sireyi saying she wasn't going to kill Ninver herself but without trying to push Sofia towards killing him or not killing him.The extra dialogue was Sireyi explaining her position to Sofia, not trying to convince her not to kill him. Sofia still intends to execute him.
>>34057457>definition games whilst not addressing the pointThe point of the matter is that a poly relationship does not necessarily mean in this context that Sireyi will "slut around". Its perfectly fine for Sireyi to have a harem built on love without sexing them all up.
>>34057486>The extra dialogue was Sireyi explaining her position to Sofia, not trying to convince her not to kill him.It heavily sounded like that, but as long as you don't have Seiryi object to it when it comes, I see no problem.

It fits her doctrine (maximizing love), but it is not necessitated by it.You know what? I'm not even against starting a relationship with someone. I just think the idea of a chaste relationship does not fit what Jal and Sophia want, there is absolutely no special reason for Sireyi to start any relationship with them instead of with other prospective lover, and Jal and Sophia see Sireyi as more of a hot challenge than an actual long term lover. And becoming married to someone bound to her people is not the best choice for such a frequent traveler.
>>34057576>A relationship of love can exist without sexual tensions. With /tg/ ? Haha. No saldy it can't. I would consider that the optimal option. But its just not gonna happen.
>>34057578>And becoming married to someone bound to her peopleSofia has still not decided if she wants to keep ruling or not. The whole thing is still kinda in limbo. And no one said Jal and Sofia want a chaste relationship. We are saying that Seiryi might oone day marry them and then she will feel free to fuck their brains out. But that requires a long time of romantic relationship before she would marry them. If they aren't interested in that, and only want a hot challenge. Then so be it, thats exacty why Seiryi wants romance then marriage then sex. To prevent being a hot challenge.

>>34057578There's nothing about 'maximising love' in sleeping around. There's no love involved in one night stands, it's just seeking pleasure for sake of pleasure. Maximising love is better done with mouth and tongue, and Sireyi has done pretty well with that. Now, if you meant the fun and pleasure aspect of the goddess, yes, sleeping around could fit that - as long as someone's feelings aren't hurt in the process.
Gendric is staying behind, he says he’s going to try spying on the army to see what he can learn, you arrange a regular time for him to get away so you can return to get reports from him.Gathering everyone else around you, you cast your spell and focus on the Island of Storms, aiming for somewhere out of the way where you won’t be noticed. You feel some resistance from the spells guarding the Island but they appear to recognise you (or Sofia) and let you in.You appear just outside the castle walls, on the edge of town. There doesn’t appear to be anyone in your immediate vicinity. You have a brief look around, its midday so there is plenty of people in the town and the castle is guarded and the gates closed. The guards on the gates and patrolling the walls appear to be bored, having settled into a dull routine. If you’re going to put Sofia back on the throne, the castle is where you’ll need to go, but you don’t know what’s happened whilst you are away, perhaps talking to people in town will shed some light on recent events.>We’ll just walk into the castle, Sofia is the heir, the guards can’t stop us>We’ll sneak into the castle>Jal will sneak into the castle and look around>I’ll wander around town in disguise and talk to people first>Other

Using your magic you disguise yourself and your companions and spend the afternoon wandering around town talking to people.Lord Ninver is in charge of the Island and is married to Sofia – and he has an imposter that is seen in public every so often giving speeches. No one you talk to gives any sign that they believe that the imposter is anything other than the real Sofia.Lord Ninver is unpopular with the common folk: he’s given the nobles back many of their old privileges that Sofia’s grandfather stripped them of. Whilst he is disliked, it’s more grumbling than talk of rebellion. There is also talk of Ninver making some sort of deal with the Drache, what deal he has made (or is in the process of making) is unclear, depending upon who you talk to, he’s skilfully fending off the Drache using diplomacy and misdirection, offering the Drache some sort of bribe to keep them at bay, negotiating for Hanse to join the Empire as a province of its own with more freedoms than other provinces, or he’s looking for a way to take down the magical protections so the Drache army can walk in unopposed. The people of Hanse do seem to love their princess, though her reputation is somewhat tarnished by her marriage to Ninver. The general consensus is that many were expecting her to be a good ruler but she made a mistake “Forgiveable in a young lass, eh” and married Ninver. The rumours do agree on the fact that a human envoy of the Drache has visited the palace a half-dozen times in the last month alone. It’s early evening, what will you do?>We’ll just walk into the castle, Sofia is the heir, the guards can’t stop us>We’ll sneak into the castle>Jal will sneak into the castle and look around>Get some rooms at an inn for the night, well sort something out in the morning>Other

Late that night you all cautiously approach the castle. You wait for the patrolling guards to turn their attention elsewhere and you all make it over the wall. As soon as you are over the wall you feel the familiar force of evil pounding into your skull, you are stronger now, and prepared for it, so it’s merely distracting rather than overwhelming. Sofia tells you where the guardroom is, and that there should be 10 on duty in the guardroom, with a further 5 patrolling the residences all night. You do not encounter any patrols on your way there. You approach the guardroom and can clearly hear low voices through the door, guards chatting, playing dice, and drinking. You decide the direct approach is the best approach, you and Sofia enter the room together, she has her hood down, her face in full view, and you have your wings and halo visible.“Soldiers of Hanse!” you proclaim “You have been deceived by Lord Ninver, he parades an imposter before you. This is the true Princess of Jalweyen!” There’s about 30 guards in the room. All the guards jump up and start asking questions, some shout accusations. After several minutes, Sofia has answered their questions. These are the palace guards and they know her well enough. A few hold out, loyal to Lord Ninver but are shouted down by the others, and in one case, where a soldier reaches for his sword, knocked down by the others. One of the soldiers, an old sergeant asks Sofia “But what’re we to do your Highness? We’re just the night guard: the full palace guard is 200 men.”Sofia looks to you for ideas, you hadn’t planned this far ahead.>All of you go and visit the other guards individually and tell them what’s going on>Wake up the other guards, we’ll convince them too.>Don’t worry, we’re going to deal with Lord Ninver, by the time the other guards wake up, it’ll be over>OtherThe guards confirm that Lord Ninver has moved into the Royal Quarters, with the imposter, and that Master Hafness is locked away in the dungeon.

You direct the guards to convince the other guards of your and Sofia’s identities and head down to the dungeons to free Master Hafness. You find him in a magically warded cell, asleep on a pallet, as you approach he twitches “Hmm, what, is it morning yet?”He’s putting on a show of being drowsy, you don’t think he was asleep at all, just faking it.When he catches sight of Sofia he climbs to his feet and approaches, careful not to touch the bars of his cell.“Your highness” he says, a smile of joy on his face “You’ve returned, well done. There’s some things I need to tell you about Ninver.”“First we need to get you out of there” says Sofia, a fond smile on her face.“Ah yes, good point” says Master Hafness, patting his rumpled clothing until he pulls out a metal key. He inserts it into the cells lock and unlocks the door, letting himself out.“What?” says Sofia “Why?”“As long as I was in a cell” explains Master Hafness “Ninver thought I wasn’t a threat, but guards gossip like old women, come, I’ll tell you on the way.”As you climb out of the dungeons, by Velya you hate being underground, Hafness explains that Ninver has been negotiating with the Drache for the Island to become the province of Hanse – administered by Lord Ninver of course. He’s also been allowing the more human sorcerers of Drache to study the Heartfire, looking for a way to beat the Islands defence, and to free the Sorcerer.“I don’t know how much progress they’ve made” confesses Master Hafness, as you approach the Royal Quarters “But I believe it would take them years before they found a way to completely deactivate the Islands defences.”The two guards at the doors let you pass with a nod and a smile. You open the doors to the royal bedchamber, your halo illuminating the room clearly, Sofia at your side. There are two forms slumbering in the bed.1/?
>>34059312“Lord Ninver!” you say loudly “Your false reign is at an end!”The two forms in bed shoot upright, it’s Lord Ninver, and a young girl who could pass for Sofia, to people who don’t know her.“What is the meaning of thi-” sputters Lord Ninver, before catching sight of Sofia.“Hello traitor” says Sofia, a grin on her face “Ready to face the headsman?”“Guards! GUARDS!” bellows Ninver “Intruder in the palace, an imposter!”“No one is coming” says Sofia gleefully, her hands on her hips “Yell all you want.”He scrambles out of bed and approaches Sofia, who simply raises her sword and waits. The two glare at each other for several minutes before Lord Ninver slumps slightly “Alright” he says “But I’ll not be found guilty, everything I did, I did for the good of our kingdom.”“Take him down to the dungeons please Sireyi” says Sofia“Gladly your highness” you respond, clamping your hand on Lord Ninvers shoulder.“As for you” snarls Ninver “burn in Hell!”He pulls a pouch from his pocket, crushes it in his hand and throws an orange-coloured powder in your face.It irritates your eyes a little, and tastes somewhat spicy. From Ninvers confused look it was supposed to do something else.“Hhm” you say “That would go well with venison I think.”“What are you?” he asks in horror “That’s a deadly poison”“I’m the one escorting you to the dungeon” you respond “After I wash this off my face.”Several days later...
You are now in control of the Island of Storms, Sofia is ruler once more, and her coronation is due in 3 days. The nobles loyal to Lord Ninver fell over one another professing loyalty to the Princess. Master Hafness pointed out those who knew they were dealing with the Drache.Ninver is in the dungeon, awaiting execution. The imposter princess was a young girl forced to play her role, including sleeping with Ninver – something she found disgusting. However the military build-up on shore is obvious, and from Ellahi’s estimates you have 11 weeks before they’ve enough forces to attack, and 20 weeks before they have enough forces to overwhelm the islands defences. You have enough time to do several different things before any attack is imminent, but let’s take things one at a time, what do you want to do first?>Figure out the Huroni superweapon>Breach the planar barriers>Collect the other Elemental Nodes (2 are in very difficult to get to locations)>Build Magical Power Armour (to help retrieve Nodes)>Build other magical weapons/armour>Convince Sofia and Jal to let you accelerate their pregnancies, so they’re not heavily pregnant during the battle>Discuss evacuating everyone via planar travel with Sofia>See if Velya or Konig can offer any military support besides the Heroes of the Horn>Do something else (what?)

>>34059648Ride the Worldstorm: You can teleport much farther, the cost of Ride the Lightning is 1 per 500 milesI think you guys are missing the point. Ride the worldstorm is quick a cheap method for fast movement to get all the storm nodes.
>>34059751Yes its very cheap, but its far more limited because A) it can't get us underground, which we need to to get several nodes. And B) Drachen can detect it.
>>34059732>Guy thinks he can argue with Autism Anon when it comes to efficiency of XP spendingLaughingwhores.jpg>>34059751>All the nodes>Except for three of them>Out of fiveTeleport is 100/2, which isn't that different.Face it, RTW isn't better than AM3, which is what we'd sacrifice instead.
You sit down with Jal and Sofia and explain that you can accelerate their pregnancies, so they won’t be carrying their children if (or when) the Drache army attacks, or suspend the pregnancies so they won’t progress until after this is all settled. After some discussion, they both agree.>Suspend pregnancies (10DE)>Accelerate (1DE/week)This conversation doesn’t take up much time, so please pick your next task from the listThe following options are also added to the list>Teach other mages on the island how to build magical power armour and stormwings>Ask Hafness what he thinks will happen to Heartfire after the planar barrier is punctured
>>34059739teleport is 20 AE for 1000 miles...Ride the worldstorm is 2DE for 1000miles...
>>34059738Well, you could ride the worldstorm to the general area and then scry+dimension door or teleport to the cube proper.
>>34059774>>34059739>>34059738are you guys autistic?Ride the worldstorm nearby than teleport under.
>>34059778>Suspend pregnancies (10DE)Having to take care of the babies would be a bit of a problem. They are far too vulnerable and we would have to constantly guard them.>Teach other mages on the island how to build magical power armour and stormwings
>>34059786Hey, guess what. It's also a spell *WE ALREADY HAVE* not one that costs 8 XP.There's a cost/value ratio which you are ignoring. The furthest cube is only 3000 miles and we can fly at 500 mph already.>>34059789Or we could fly/teleport combo to there and not get cripple our XP efficiency.>>34059805See above.
>>34059778>Have the girls decide>Teach other mages on the island the secrets of artificesounds cool as well as like something better done early than later.
>>34059812Fair point. I retract my objection.
>>34059778Since this is causing a crazy debate, can we get some details of the DIFFERENCE between ride the Worldstorm and teleport. Since it seems to be the main argument...
>>34059778Suspending means the DE is taken away from our pool until it starts again right?>Teach other mages on the island how to build magical power armour and stormwings
>>34059855This difference is written right there into the Rules. You just have to read it up.
>>34059855Ride the Worldstorm would let us leap to all the cubes in succession and be faster. It also costs 8XP and I can't think of any other time I'd really prefer it over teleport or RTL.Well, none in the immediate future, and it's going to be bought soon anyway, just not right now.Oh, and it'd need to be bought at exception of Angel's Magic 3, since I am completely unwilling to sacrifice Imbue Holy Magic Items.Teleport is something we already have, and can be supplemented by our 500 mph flight, but it's less efficient for long distance transport on it's own, though better for groups.Either way, we cannot get the volcano cube or the ocean cube until we have some way of surviving in those environments.
>>34059894No as in the differences in its application.e.g. teleport states that it can bring other people at the additional costs of 2AE per extra person that is brought along. How does bringing others work for ride the worldstorm or can it not bring other people?Does Ride the Worldstorm break the barrier if used? Can we just tele + fly to nodes?etc.
>>34059930Ride the Worldstorm only breaks the barrier if you use it's interplanar travel function.RTW costs 5 DE/person other than Sireyi.Yes, we can just teleport/fly combo to the nodes, it won't even take that much longer.
>>34059778>accelerate pregnanciesWe may need the maximum island defenses>teach how to make power armor>>34059543Seconding this xp distribution.
>>34059855Ride the Lightning (With Worldstorm upgrade)1DE/500 miles5DE per extra personDivineRequires open sky at current location and destinationTeleport3AE for 100 miles + 2AE/100 miles more2AE per extra personArcane>>34059875Yes, also the cost should be 1DE/week for eah of them, 2DE/week totalEither choice will tie up DE until birth (if accelerated) or until you end the effect (if suspended)
>>34059947I was asking Pally...
>>34059930>You can bring extra people with you at a cost of 5 Divine Energy each.It says so right here. Worldstorm is a upgrade to ride the lightning.
>>34059930>Does Ride the Worldstorm break the barrier if used?Yes, if used to teleport between planes, but no if used on the same plane
>>34059968Lemme seeLets presume that each node is 1000miles away from each other for convenience sake. Presuming soloWith AE: 21AE if teleporting straight to the nodeWith DE: 2DE + 3AE of teleporting to the node than underground or whateverThis means one cube per day if teleporting or 2-3 cubes in one day with Divine.Benefits of AE:-No exp cost-Can fly to mitigate costBenefits of DE:-Can get all cubes faster-Cheaper travel costs
>>34059778Sorry if that is again something that has already been mentioned: Is the pregnancy enough to count as a child for strengthening the barrier.>Accelerate>Teach other mages on the island how to build magical power armour and stormwings
>>34060040Benefits of ride the worldstorm is fast nodes however we do not know if the nodes will give us the knowledge we need.Benefits of AE that there is no exp cost means we can get angel magic 3 alot faster which does matter. Its basically cubes faster vs holy enhancements.
>>34060040You keep forgetting that Drache can sense our usage of Ride the Storm, which makes it vastly inferior as a option.
>>34059956Island defenses are already at maximum due to the fetus in Sofia's belly, IIRC.At least, one anon had the theory that it would be such.>>34060040You forgot to factor in our flight speed. All cubes are a thousand miles away from each other, let's assume the nearest to us is also 1000 miles away. That's a total of 6000 miles, which is only 12 hours of flight total if we push ourselves or less if we supplement it with teleporting. So it's more accurate to say that a NO-RTW approach would take only 1-2 days to retrieve all the cubes, especially since AM3 adds another 10 AE to our pool.
>>34060074Let's keep in mind that it may be that the nodes are required to be where they are to have access to their respective elemental energies. We should learn more about them before we commit to retrieving them, and that probably includes setting a few xp aside for Worldstorm should we take too much time doing that.
>>34060090Can we get a pally confirm? I thought it was just if we use it to break the plane's barrier.Could be wrong though
2 for accelerate, and 1 for let the girls decide, so I rolled a die - they want you to accelerate the pregnancies as much as possible.Although this isn't an ideal time to have children, they both want to fight, and even a suspended pregnancy could be lost if they were wounded. You spend a week teaching the dozen mages on the island who are skilled enough, how to build basic power armour and stormwings. They start making them.1 week used, estimated time until attack: 10-19 weeksYour Divine power is currently unavailable, being invested in accelerating both pregnancies. Please pick next option from the list>>34060046Unknown - it depends upon how the wizards worded the first spells that built the defences, and its never been tested to see if a pregnancy is enough.
>>34060120How long is Jianxi gone by now ?
>>34060040A point against ride the worldstorm btw is that it is divine and a high level power. It's entirely possible it could give off a large and noticable divine energy discharge.
>>34060118They can sense if: - It is used to breach the planar barrier (they can detect anything that breaches the barrier) - They (or other demons) are close by the arrival or destination point.Otherwise, Ride The Lightning is not detected any easier than other magic
>>34060120>Discuss evacuating everyone via planar travel with Sofia
>>34060120>Figure out the Superweapon
>>34060142Jianxi has just got on the ship to Kugan, Isla believed it would take 13 weeks (for them, 39 weeks for you) before they reached Kugan.
>>34060120>Your Divine power is currently unavailableRTW just became a non-viable travel option.
>>34060148There we go this is the part where I say I told you soDoesn't matter, our DE is tied up with pregnancies meaning Ride the Worldstorm is currently INFERIOR to AE so get Angel magic.
>>34060120>10-19 weeksSo if we're 'lucky' Jal and Sofia will be heavily pregnant by the time the attack comes, since it has a minimum of 13 weeks.
>>34060171wait what, what the fuckaccelerating was useless than
>>34060171By investing all your DE, they are due within 15 weeks
>>3406012010-19 weeks till attackpregnancy will take 12+ weeks...Guess we better hope it'll take 19 weeks or the barrier will hold
>>34060120>Ask hafness what he thinks will happen to the heartfire after the barrier is broken
>>34060120>>34060206what was the point of accelerating than?
>>34060206So we are fucked even worse, unless we can stall the whole thing long enough.Time to bunker down then.>Build Magical Power Armour (to help retrieve Nodes)
>>34060167No, it did not. I mean it did, but only until the babies are delivered. And we still have things to do before that.>>34060168The boxes are in secluded areas though. We'd maybe alert some random outcasts or some scholars on an expedition, not the army.
>>34060120>Unknown - it depends upon how the wizards worded the first spells that built the defences, and its never been tested to see if a pregnancy is enough. So they have no way to check their own defences? Interesting.>Build Magical Power Armour (to help retrieve Nodes)Should be done automatically by other mages.>See if Velya or Konig can offer any military support besides the Heroes of the HornWe should at least mention about when we are going to breach the barrier. Also that there is currently a demon lord that might be freed during the fight.>>34060206Could we invest HP to drop it to 13? We don't need full health and those two weeks might be important.
>>34060228To get them to pop the kid faster in the hopes it comes out before the battle and they can't lose the babies on accident during fighting.>>34060239Its only unavailable for this decision because we burnt it all on the acceleration. Its not unavailable until end of pregnancy.
>>34060217>>34059380>20 weeks before they have enough forces to overwhelm the islands defences.>11 weeks until they have enough to attackI think it's supposed to be read as (when they'll attack) - (When they'll actually get through)>>34060239Okay, let me rephrase it.Ride the Worldstorm now takes 15 weeks minimum to get the boxes.Teleport/flight combo takes however long it'll be until the first suit of magic power armor is completed +2 days.
>>34060228>>34060231The 10 week/19 week spread is that:At 10 weeks there are enough to troops to make an attack possible, and at 19 weeks enough to swamp the island defences (with massive casualties). The Drache could attack before 19 weeks, but would probably lose
>>34060120>wasted all divine shit>it doesn't change anythingwe better have some real good tech and barrier protection or we just wasted all our shiz on sofia and jal without changing nothin

>>34060386>Build ArmourI see two votes for power armour >>34060261>>34060231
>>34060386Yes, the plan would be to make the armour *before* the acceleration from these votes goes through.Essentially, they'd be 12 weeks in when we make the anti-poison armor, they don the armor, and then we do all the acceleration. To avoid Sofia dying from poison. Is anyone opposed to losing two weeks to prevent possible horrible death?
>>34060433We can just as well make the anti-poison armor next week.
>>34060433We can make armour whilst accelerating the pregnancy though. They're not mutually exclusive.
>>34060462We just have to remember to spend the next week making the armor and telling the mages to make the second one.
>>34060433Can't Sofia just get blessed health of her own? Surely she got enough xp on our travels for that. She should get a power armor, but passive poison immunity is still good for her. She's probably not going to sleep in power armor.
>>34060462Yes, but this way takes the same amount of time for babies and doesn't tempt fate.Sofia was prophesied to die from poison when she was pregnant, it'd be better to make the sets of armor before accelerating her pregnancy at all.
>>34060478QM has been deciding exp usage for side char, her exp all used up

>>34060649>Environmental Protection Underwater>Environmental Protection LavaThese are the only two we need right now, and I don't want to spend too long on this. Can we modify the armor in the future and improve it?
>>34060649>Environmental Protection (underwater, 2 weeks)Then we have still a week until the babies come to spend on something else.
>>34060674>Can we modify the armor in the future and improve it?Yes
>>34060649>Spell (1 week per spell rank)The one that stops scrying and shows a false impression.Better to play it safe.
>>34060649>anti-poison armourCould that be anti-poison clothing instead, actually? The mages are making it, and they might actually know 'enchant sorcerous item', which I presume would govern clothing.
>>34060706We should have taken "make magic item" instead or armor,. then we could have taught them to make a ring or something.
>>34060706>Could that be anti-poison clothing instead, actually? It can, yes
>>34060646You can't sarcasm at me.I'm far too autistic.>>34060720Yeah, but then we wouldn't be able to make our own suit of magical armour. There were benefits to each, I was thinking more along the lines of which would work best with IHMI for screwing over the demon lords.
You bend your divine powers to accelerating Sofia’s and Jals pregnancies. In time the two give birth, on the same day, a week after Sofia’s 18th birthday. They’re in labour for most of the day, but there are no complications. Once it is all over, they are laid in bed, each holding their child.Sofia has a daughter who has blond hair, and gold eyes.Jal has a son who has silver hair and gold eyes, just like you.Neither has wings.“What are you going to call them?” you ask.“Milerna” says Sofia “After one of the first queens of Hanse.”“Erm” says Jal “Not really sure, hadn’t decided.”How about...>An elven name>A Royal Hanse name>A name of one of your gang>A specific name (what?)

“How about an elven name?” you suggest“Yeah” says Jal “Yeah, ‘cept I don’t know any elven names.”“Virukuen was a noted elven sage” says Master Hafness “How about that?”“Viviken?” says Jal “I like the sound of that”“No” says Master Hafness “Virukuen” He sounds out the name“Little Viviken” says Jal, cuddling her baby. You spend your time making a suit of armour that will cover you from head to foot, it has a removable backpack that fits your wings. You can have the backpack on to protect your wings, but would not be able to use them to fly, or you can take the ‘pack off, and be able to fly normally.Currently all your armour does is allow you to remain underwater, at any depth, for as long as you need to, it also makes sure you have breathable air.You can upgrade your armour with additional abilities.2 weeks used, estimated time until attack: 8-17 weeksPlease pick next option from the list

The mages of the Island upgrade your armour to protect you against lava, making it bulkier and heavier in the process. You can move in that thing, but not fight in it.You spend days with your elemental node, eventually you find the plans for the Huroni Superweapon, The Fivefold Death of Cities. The plans are amazingly complex to you, you’ve only just learned how to build some of the simpler armours the Huroni used. You spend days going over the plans again and again, until you understand it.The Fivefold Death of Cities requires at least 6 Elemental Nodes: 1 attuned to each of the Elements the Huroni believed in: Earth, Fire, Air, Water and Wood (or life). The final Node can be of any element. What the Drache know as the Lightning Cores were modified Elemental Nodes used as weapons, because they encountered these most frequently, they believed that all Elemental Nodes were like that.An Elemental Node attuned to an element gives the sorcerer great power over that element. If you have all the nodes, you can use them to build the Fivefold Death of Cities, it’ll take time, maybe 6 weeks if all the mages on the island help you.And it’ll be big, the size of a house.Once active, it can fire a blast of magical energy that can level a city, or a mountain, or kill a demon lord.It can draw power from the nodes that make it up – as long as they’ve drawn in enough power from their element – or it can draw power from another source. The Huroni had a power grid that spanned across their empire that could power it, you *might* be able to power it from the Heartfire. If it draws power from its nodes, it will (temporarily) drain 1 node per shot, meaning the node will have to be re-charged from the appropriate element.1 week used, estimated time until attack: 7-16 weeksPlease pick next option from the list, and feel free to ask questions about the Fivefold Death of Cities.
>>34059380>Collect the other Elemental Nodes (2 are in very difficult to get to locations)Better start collecting those then. What happens to the Heartfire if we use it to charge the FDoC ?

>>34061409>Go collect the elemental nodes
You teleport to each of the locations in turn and collect the 5 Elemental Nodes, your trip is without incident, but it takes days to extract the two that are under water and lava respectively.Having lain in their elements for so long, each of the Nodes is fully charged. You’re not sure how you can re-charge them though, as none of these elements are really your thing.1 week used, estimated time until attack: 6-15 weeksPlease pick next option from the list, new option added>Build Fivefold Death of Cities (6 weeks)

>>34061620They've made a dozon suits of armour, and a dozen stormwings, they're able to make them at about 3/week>>34061616This weapon has a very large area of effect, aiming it at the Heartfire would take out the palace, and a lot of the island.>>34061622>can we contact Ellahi using Dream during those six weeks?YesThe weapon is line of sight, or rather, destroys whatever is in its path. The rulers palace is thousands of miles away.I'm not saying it can't reach him, but you'll be shooting a big hole through the world to do it.>>34061690No
>>34061589So we got two shots if we use the energy thats holding sorc + the energy in the cubeswith it we can take out both ruler and warrior however it could possibly free sorc
>>34061668We still need the horn for the Warrior so we can surprise the ruler with the death ray.
>>34061703>contact Ellahi using Dream>Build Fivefold Death of Cities
>>34061709Each node is one shot.>If it draws power from its nodes, it will (temporarily) drain 1 node per shot, meaning the node will have to be re-charged from the appropriate element.>Each node other than our own is currently fully charged
>>34061712Are you people autistic?Horn + rebellion is for ruler.Death ray is for Warrior.Death ray can be shot twice if we use up hearth energy however thats a pretty big risk
>>34061733Once we shot the death ray against the warrior the ruler is going to bunker down behind massive protections and will be prepared for the death ray. The rebellion is useless againsat that. The death ray is the only thing he might not see coming.
>>34061733>>34061729My bad.Still deathray is for warrior.Horn + rebellion for ruler unless we can move the 5death city shit.
>>34061757How stupid are you ? How are you going to get those troops near the ruler once he is forewarned ?
You and the mages on the island spend your time building the Fivefold Death of Cities. It’s not an easy task, and you make mistakes along the way, but eventually it is complete. It sits in the castle courtyard, seeming...malevolent...somehow.It is a vast construction of metal and stone, shaped like some sort of cannon.6 weeks used, estimated time until attack: 0-9 weeksNo attack comes that week. Please pick next option from the list, new options added>Wait 1 week for attack>Contact Ellahi via Dream (takes no time)
>>34061782>Contact Ellahi via Dream (takes no time)
>>34061782>Contact Ellahi via Dream (takes no time)>Contact Gendric to get info on the army camp and when the warrior is expected
>>34061780How exactly will we beat warrior without deathray again? Remind me how can we beat someone who has more experience with war than us, more troops than us and more powerful troops than us (demons vs humans).Best bet is to beat warrior though pure power using death ray.
>>34061749He's not much of a ruler if he shuts himself off from his subjects then. We would then have to deal with his troops and officials, something I think a rebellion and army of heroes could handle.
>>34061806With the fucking horn, thats what its there for. To summon a army of the greatest heroes to take him by surprise and exploit his unwilllingness to back away.>>34061809We already know thats his modus operandi, we were literally told that is what he is going to do. And we can't just leave him there as a constant threat.
>>34061806>>34061809 Where the hell do all these new people come from that didn't even read the strategie of the two Demon Lords a few threats back.
Does anyone else here get the 'good intentions gone awry' feeling from the superweapon?
>>34061866We are going to have to take the nodes with us and dismantle the weapon once we leave. Or leave the nodes with Sofia, if she chooses to stay.
>>34061860>cus we totally had a deathray a couple threads backstrategies are ever changing
>>34061925We already knew about the city buster back then.
>>34061925At least read the rest of the quest before you start arguing here, thanks.
Ok, writing Ellahi DreamYou asked for this....
>>34061782Have the smiths and mages construct Stormwings for the troops.
>>34061941Yeah, but back then we thought we'd actually be able to fire it at the ruler from wherever we wanted. If he hunkers down, we reconstruct it elsewhere and level his fortress.
>>34061990But we will have lost the moment of surprise and allowed him to devise counter measures to it. Using it when he doesn't expect it is the entire pointz. You can't beat a guy whos entire stick is it to be over prepared by using a old trick.
So we have the Big Bertha, but it's use is limited to line of sight. Meaning we can take out the Warrior with ease, but using it on Ruler or Hanandirac is out of question without further modifications. How about portal magic? Could we set up a portal for the cannon to fire into?Pic related.
>>34062059>but it's use is limited to line of sightIt doesn't actually say that anywhere.Pally, how far is the range of the city buster ?
>>34062059Could we set up multiple portals so the target would get hit by the beam from five different directions?
>>34062012Okay then, remind me, what was your plan for dealing with an army of thousands containing powerful wizards, clerics and warriors and led by a demon lord? And don't say 'the horn', our goddess said we could defeat *A* demon lord with it, it says nothing about the army he's with.Relying on the barrier is out of the question too, since if they overwhelm it, which they would, there would be a huge number of casualties. The superweapon is our best bet.I also really don't think he'll be able to develop a counter-measure for the weapon faster than we can rebuild it.>>34062106Learn to Read: >>34061703>The weapon is line of sight, or rather, destroys whatever is in its path. The rulers palace is thousands of miles away.
>>34062124>or rather, destroys whatever is in its pathMaybe you should follow your own advice ? It explicetly says it isn't restricted by line of sight, it smashes through everything on the way.
>>34062124Could we scry the Ruler's palace, then point the beam at the ground, and shoot the palace through the Earth?
>>34062164Reading is power: >>34061703>I'm not saying it can't reach him, but you'll be shooting a big hole through the world to do it.You really wanna destroy the planet?
