Rolled 87/tg/ is slow today...
>>33945847I'll wait a few more minutes, hopefully people will show up
>>33945847Ok, you're the ruler. Now what?
>>33945662Seconding that we continue west for now. If we find a stream or river it might be a good place for an initial camp.

> I'll take seconding for nowUnder the leadership of elders Miekix and Nomia, the tribe moves from the outskirts of the Great Forest even deeper, deeper than any of the plains tribe has ever dared. The land remains pretty much unchanged the further west the group travels, though you -do- come across a river>Forgot one thing - Food- okay

Hey, sexy lady.Just posting here to say however many people there were before, now there is one more. Whoever is GMing: don't you normally state a magic-level and such? These tend to go smoother with a more dictatorial DM that states a few options as well as an 'other' option.
>>33946047Sorry, never done this before, stat report incoming with next post!
Let's scout around the area, a river could be a great resource.
Rolled 98Be back in 15 people. Have fun
Your people decide to stop for a moment by the river, see what is to be seen. Under the careful supervision of their parents, some of the children splash into the water, while the rest of the tribesmen look around. Running above the tribe, in the dense canopy, are dozens, if not hundreds of squirrels. A few flashes of movement from larger creatures can be seen as well nearer the ground>Stats- Stone Age tribe>population- 50 >25 males/20 females> 5 childrenResources: LOTS of wood, hides taken during exodusTools- basic stone axesMagic- undiscovered!
>>33946251Please let me know if I miss anything guys!Oh, and>VersatilityWhat should our extra perk be?
>>33946285Bonus to fighting and exploiting orcs. Inability to live happily in the same area as orks.
>>33946319We already have orc intolerance, but I'll take the bonus to fighting :)
>>33946348But not exploiting?
>>33946397how do you mean?
>>33946397Well, what is it you want to do? Do you wan to punch an orc in the face, or do you want to coerce teenage orks into having sex on camera?
>>33946251Let's get this shit moving. Use the wood to build huts around a totem pole to the god of ork-murdering.
>>33946475>totem poleSame guy again; if I name up and become the tribe's head zealot, can I describe what the god is like and name it?
>>33946475Using your crude stone and flint axes, your people begin chopping wood from the forest around you, and stretching the hides you brought, make some rudimentary huts in a semicircle. Your people also erect a crude wooden totem (basically a log) in the middle of the huts in the hopes that it will please whatever supernatural force may be out there>stone age50 tribespeopleFood- slightly below averageFood sources- none foundResources known- Woodtechnology- crude stone axesshelter- crude huts>What should we do?
Rolled 39How about we are exceptionally skilled at finding powerful objects/rescources?
>>33946602Sent out a hunting party consisting of 15 men.A foraging party of 10 women. remaining 10 men will gather wood for cooking fires, and not stray farremaining 10 women will maintain the camp
Create a hierarchy system, chieftains, farmers, whatever
>>33946602We should carve faces into the totem
>>33946602Praise be to our ork-murdering overlord!>>33946656Let's do that, but with a view to wrestling anything we find into submission so we can start a farm.
Now that we've settled by the river, the first priority is getting food. You send your strongest and quickest 15 men out to hunt for food. It must be nearby! Meanwhile, some of your children have spotted berries growing by the riverbank, and some of your women are sent to collect them. Finally, the rest of your men are sent to chop more wood.>Your hunting/gathering parties will return next turn. What should your remaining ten women do?
>>33946780Make the place look pretty
>>33946700We already have that, somewhat. We have a leader.
>>33946780Carve faces into the totem, then. Most of them should probably be really angry about the existence of non-humans. We can make it more elaborate once we have better tools. Maybe eventually clad it in metal and spikes, and make it breathe fire or something.
Rolled 64We should scout, see if anything interesting is around. Send 3 men in each direction
>>33946780While the remaining women work on ensuring that everything is clean, perhaps one woman can meditate? hoping to connect to our deity/ancestors/spirits?
Rolled 37I think we need to research some Druidic magic(Transforming into animals, Restoration magic)Call upon our ancestors to give us this magic
>>33946795>>33946835Maintaining the campsite is easy enough work, because there isn't much there in the first place. So the women fix their boredom by taking some of the crude tools left behind and start to carve a face in the totem. When they do, it lets out a guttural roar and shudders>Cont!
>>33946866forgot my name
>>33946891>>33946914I don't know, that sounds pretty... non-human, guys. Can't we research something a little mor homo-sapiens? A little more bipedal? I'm all for subjugating foolish bears and wolves to do our bidding, but shapeshifting sounds pretty heretical.
>>33946968We should start harvesting the world of all it's natural resources and kill every other race other than humans
Rolled 16>>33946968Maybe control of animals?
Rolled 97>>33946968Im willing to compromise so we have a good nature attunement where we could basically be native Americans with magic.
>>33946891>I'll add this as wellFrightened, the women turn around to face a large, hulking man, tan skinned like he is of the plains, but smeared with war paint... or is it black blood? > The spirit appears miraculously as the rest of your tribe returns (more on this later) he is a spirit of vengeance, as his people were slaughtered by fierce green men he calls 'Orcs'>he offers his aid- do you accept? He's also seemed to have forgotten his name.
Rolled 48>>33947035Agreed. I'm 'feelin the nature.I don't like him. Kill him. (Also 'feelin sadistic)

>>33947017>>33947035Make it so>>33947039I vote that we immediately prostrate ourselves and declare eternal devotion to Vez'gul. Also ask how we too can get so ripped and make such war paints in his image.
>>33947039Accept his aid. We need all the help we can get >>33947061Vez'gul sounds good, nice and ominous.
Rolled 63Eh I killed a bunny and got the sadism out of my system.Make Vez'gul (cool name) our friend. Don't make him leader though, perhaps a Shaman?
>>33947060>he just hates orcs>>33947061>>33947102Your leader immediately strides forward, names the spirit Vez'gul, and offers him the worship of the tribe. Vez'gul smiles toothily, and in return, teaches the tribe how to make their axes a bit more sturdy. >your tribe has returned! The river-berries have been plucked clean, and your hunters report a small deer herd making its home nearby. Food is now at 7/10>Tell me if/when you all want an update
Rolled 10Inquire about the spirit realm, capture the deer.
>>33947229>how are we to capture the deer without any way to hold them? *hinthint*
>>33947229Will we have deer rider cavalry
>>33947189Alright, I immediately start bulking up in the image of Vez'gul. Get some deadlifts, bench press going with boulders. Probably make some protein shakes out of ground up deer.Let's send a couple of groups of scouts out. If we have any green neighbours, we better find out about them before they find us.
Rolled 26>>33947266Nah. They be petz.>>33947261Touche. Build pens
>>33947289Yea lets get some pens
>>33947189>Build pens>Capture deer>????>Profit
>>33947289Using our new improved axes, our men start chopping some trees down for their wood. Unfortunately we have no way of improving them, so for now, the pens are just crude boundaries, though they would hold a few deer.>Scouts are also sent out. Which direction? (does not count as a turn)
>>33947362To the north for the deer
>>33947362Do we have a vague idea of our surroundings already? What exactly is the difference between the different directions?
Rolled 71>>33947362I say we send them deeper into the forest so i guess north? which ever leads further in.
Rolled 43>>33947389Eh, preference, temperature, etc.
>>33947389Except for the river, it's all the same (we're deep in the forest)>Your scouts head north, with explicit instructions to capture some deer. How many and what's our next action?
>>33947362Also, we have a fair few guys. Can't we just send pairs north south east and west? Only 8 people Used.
Rolled 9Zhremar, quick thing. If your making this a one off (Hope not), and you leave (cause you said only 2-3 hours) I'd be glad to continue for you. Unless you plan on continuing. Just thought I'd help out :D
>>339474214-10 DeerAttempt to improve the pins.
>>33947421Get 12 deer
>>33947457> I do have the other thread in an hour, but I can still DM this one.Instead of just north, scouts are sent in all directions, save for east- after all, you came from there. The remaining people at the camp attempt to enlarge the pens, taking their axes further to the woods around them. The pens grow, and any gaps are covered up.
>>33947527>Or at least try. Hope I'm doing satisfactorily, guys and girls!
>>33947552Doing great 9.5/10
Rolled 29>>33947552Indeed, you're doing great.
>>33947461>>33947492I guess this mostly depends on GM whims, but an arbitrary and small number of deer seems pretty pointless and also deep woods isn't the best habitat. Surely we should do some deforestation, or set up mushroom/berry farms in the meantime? Or just dedicate a couple of hunters to the job and get to the more important task of eradicating all the orks inthe name of Vez'gul. That and making awesome ewok-style treehouses with bridges between them.
Rolled 87I'm forced to go on mobile so I can't contribute any more art and will be posting in this thread less :(
Rolled 83I say we find Horses and set up a special mounted fighting unit called the Dothraki. I transfer my leadership to there.
>>33947576>If you want to attempt something that your tribe hasn't ever done before, research it! That goes for everyone.Scouts return next turn
New here could anyone give me a quick recap on what has happened so far
Rolled 10>>33947621We are forest humans. We found a river, met a spirit, and captured deer.
>>33947610Why horses when you have deer
>>33947576We're going to breed them, but it would be a good idea to weaponize our axes to help our preparations to bring glory to Vez'gul.
>>33947633Pretty much>Dig the new name
Rolled 1>>33947642Cause were Dothraki.Doi.In all honesty I'm tempted to just write in Dothraki
>>33947610No, horses aren't of much use in the forest, hunters/rangers are just so much more practical
>>33947648>perhaps I should be more clear- Vez'gul is not a spirit of war, he's a spirit of vengeance. Perhaps your people could meditate to find more spirits though!>Continuing with the scouting update
Rolled 78>>33947699Fine...I'll run a Dothraki game another time.Buzkill...:)
>>33947699The Great Stallion is disappointed in you.
>>33947620Can we subsist happily for now with our current deer farm? In that case, we should probably get some other things up to scratch. How about that nature magic? Let's pray and find more spirits.
>>33947726Not when The Great Antler Lord is pleased
>>33947733Nature Magic could have some huge benefits, I'd say we go for it
Rolled 60>>33947733Yeah this. Do some dances around the Totem, carve more faces.
>>33947711I misspoke. I meant bring glory to him by destroying those who had killed him.>>33947737Heathen
>>33947763Alright so we have one face which is a really angry guy with a tan. Like Hulk Hogan or whatever. Next one should be like a an bearded guy that wears an antler crown and smokes a pipe.
>>33947793We got hulk hogan why don't we get macho man randy savage here to
>>33947793I'm down for that>>33947811or this
>>33947825We should get both
>>33947811Because we want a Nature Boy instead to get druish magics.
After a few days, your scouting pairs return with news! And deer, though they seem to be out of it.The pair that ran southward hit the coast, but were stopped by a massive, unscalable wall. The northern scouts didn't make it very far... they encountered a forest fire and were retreating, when one of the men was hit on the shoulder by an arrowhead. He's badly injured. The pair that headed west, however, hit it rich. They followed the river, and came to a waterfall, leading down to a large valley, teeming with wildlife- also inhabited, by what look to be men made of the very earth. With these discoveries, the tribe, named 'Doth' for 'Forest', celebrate by carving more faces into the totem, but nothing happens
>>33947865Meditate for spirits
Rolled 58>>33947865Thanks :)So let's send Vengence to scout. He can probably convince these guys to let us in. Then we kill them in their sleep. Humans and Spirits and Animals ONLY
>>33947865I say we better our axes in any way we can to make them more fit for battle.
>>33947895>Vez'gul is a new GOD, my friend. I don't think he'd like being ordered around by his worshippers.
>>33947865Forest fires and random aggression doesn't sound good. Perhaps we should pray to Vez'gul for wisdom. He might recall where those murderous orcs did their evil deeds. We migh tbe able to summon more spirits by pleasing Vez'gul first.
>>33947865Send a couple of scouts to talk diplomacy with these guys. Did the scouts see who shot them?
Rolled 41>>33947940Ohhh I misunderstood. We will go there later then. More meditation, learn some magikkk
>>33947865Also forgot to mention that this new valley is rich in rock (some... different) as well
>>33947957the earth guys
>>33947983>>33948013I got the impression that the guy getting shot and the earth people encounters were nothing to do with each other. The question is, should we diplomatize the rockmen, or try a hostile takeover of their bountiful lands?
>writing- communing with Vez'gul
>>33948062Diplomize and get some allies
>>33948062Diplomacy, we don't want the nearest civilization to be our enemy
>>33948072>>33948094Do we have much to offer them? Hopefully they've also met these bellicose archers and we could arrange a military alliance to defend against them.
Rolled 5I simply don't trust 'em
>>33948133We offer them.... One deer
>>33948133It's a crapshoot. They might be completely indifferent to us.
>>33947941>>33947965In the wake of this attack, your entire tribe convenes at the spirit totem, calling out to Vez'gul, telling the newly minted God how they've been wronged. He appears, and the arrow that struck our scout is brought forth to him. Unfortunately, he furrows his brow, unable to discern the make of the cruel looking arrow. From the north, an anguished scream interrupts the ceremony, as everyone looks to the tribe's leader for direction>As the tribe's leaders, what will we do next?>Our wounded scout never received treatment for his ghastly injury. He is now dead.
>>33948133I say we just offer a nonaggression pact to start and gradually build friendship
>>33948204We ride the deer into battle
>>33948204>Food down to 5/10- average>knew I forgot something
Rolled 57Ask Vezzy to mask us. No way will we survive an attack. (Were under attack right? If not, ask Vez for a blessing, that we may gain vengence for our brothers death)
>>33948204More forest fires closer to home could wipe us out. We'll have to deal with the invaders immediately. Our axes have the blessing of Vez'gul, I say we form up a couple of skirmish groups and put them to use.
>>33948240>Not under attack as of yet. The northern scouts made it pretty far, just not as far as our southern/western groups
>>33948240>>33948260I like the combination of these two. They will pay for their insolence.
>five/ten minutes I will ask for final votes, just so it's more organized for me.
>>33948240Don't forget Vezzington is a spirit of vengeance, not hiding from stuff. If we get his blessing it's more likely to be a blessing of fucking shit up.
Rolled 46>>33948316I thought we were under attack :)
I say we send the scouts as one large group ahead 1st and if the rest of the fighting men are needed they'll be on standby
>final votes for everyone?
Rolled 66>>33948380Get a blessing, then go in as berzerkers getting vengence
>>33948399i guess we just do this
Rolled 17>>33948399This. The Khal has spoken.
>>33948399Your tribe's (now 24) men of fighting age huddle around Vez'gul's totem, crying out for revenge. They feel his smile upon them as they watch their axes, chipped from everyday use, restored in front of them. With a warcry that reaches even the stone-men's valley, the men rush off to the north>The battle will take place next turn. Anything to be done back at camp?
Rolled 44Pray for their success. Do it until they return
>>33948536Pray that we don't die
>>33948536Sacrifice a deer
>>33948551>>33948560>>33948579With nothing else to do, the women and children of the tribe huddle together to pray for the safe return of the men. One of the children, head bowed, hears a step near the edge of the encampment- looking up, he is startled to see a young boy, younger than himself, smiling at him. The boy watches the prayers for as long as they last, but flinches noticeably as the deer is sacrificed, watching it burn needlessly in the communal firepit.>Continuing with the battle! Would rolls make it more fun for you guys?
>>33948677They see me rollin
Rolled 90>>33948706THIS GUY...Is a genius.
>>33948677Maybe some kind of tactical control of the battle.
Rolled 43>>33948720I'm so fucking good
Rolled 79>>33948724Totally. Go left, right, etc.
>>33948720>>33948724As the men continue their journey northward, they feel reinvigorated, most likely from the prayers back at the settlement. But the more north they push, the harder it becomes for them to breathe; smoke chokes the air. They must be getting close. Khal Miekix peers over the ridge facing the men, to find.... twenty little green men, sadistically cackling as they destroy the surrounding trees. They aren't paying attention to your direction, but they each have a mean looking bow by their side, and from your experience, they are quite deadly with them. Looking behind them, he can glimpse the form of the little boy, now with a girl, their expressions a mixture of pain, anger and rage at the carnage.>>33948724What do we do?
Rolled 39Nod to the children, and sneak down. Form a circle around them, and attack, screaming to confuse them.
Rolled 2>>33948905This is the best we can do, tatics is beyond our minds
Rolled 13>>33948870Send half to sneak around then charge with the pincer maneuver
>my civ from last night is going to start up in a bit, guys. Still try to juggle this one, but if you'd like, you can come join me. It's a multiciv btw
Rolled 47>>33948967I'll be in both. It's fine if you slow down a tad, but let's make sure this doesn't die. Will you continue it tomorrow?
>>33948989>Yes I will! 4pm PST, or I could do earlierYou make eye contact with the twins and smile at them, telling them you don't mean any harm, though they look at your tribe with deadened eyes. You silently make your way into the scorched clearing, but one of your men steps on a twig and the resulting crack gives the goblins pause. It is enough though, for you to charge, and soon their forces have been cut down by half. But this doesn't stop the rest, who immediately take up their bows and start firing with deadly accuracy, immediately killing 6 of your men, and grazing 3 others. You finish off the rest of the goblins, when one steps out at the other side of the clearing, taking aim and grazing a forth with his arrow. He's about to re-nock, when the little girl looks at him, and with a nonchalant wave of her hand, the lead goblin is speared through the chest with a tree root.
Rolled 63Thank the girl. Instruct your men to tend to the wounded and loot the dead, while the Leaders adress the Children. "Spirits I presume?"
Rolled 84>>33949210Take the bows
>>33949249This, but with the more grateful, "Thank you. Are you spirits who guard these forests?

Rolled 76>>33949452It was dis
>>33949875>Once again, sorry :/ Your leader smiles warmly at the children, before nodding to his men to tend to the wounded. He cordially steps up to the children with a bow, and asks them if they are the spirits in charge of the forest. They say yes, and he thanks them for the shelter.
Rolled 22Ask them what they embody, and request their blessing. Invite them to our home. Have some men loot the camp.
>>33949988The children say that they are the embodiment of the deep forest, and that the tribe is welcomed. Time is taken to loot the bodies of the goblins (no camp, just bored, wanton destruction) and some bows are taken, perhaps to be reverse engineered later
Rolled 44Go home and introduce the Children to Vez
Rolled 52>>33950146what are the options?
>>33950146Anything you want. I'll give stats whenever you want as well
Rolled 48>>33950298We might as well take our supplies and head back to the tribe
>>33950338How about someone rolls a d20 to see how many bows we salvaged?
>>33950387Most of the bows were broken during the skirmish, but your tribesmen are able to gather nine of them, and they head back to the village, the Twins in tow. There is a huge celebration in the village of now 42 people, compiled with the fact that two of the children, a boy and a girl, are now adults! The Twins are brought to Vez'gal, who simply shrugs, saying that his only job is the protection of your tribe. A new day dawns in the village, accompanied by a few groans from the village elders, who'd made the mistake of gorging themselves in fermented berries.>Alcohol discovered!
Rolled 9Research the bows. Research Life magic (animals and crap)
Rolled 6>>33950495We need to research armor. We're took weak.
