You are Zhu Xing, from the city of Xu Chang. While spending time in Jing, you've partially schemed to get second son of Liu Biao as heir. Helping Gan Ning overcome a suicidal death mission given by Huang Zu, you've won the ex-pirate over to your side. Reuniting with an old friend, you wait for Lu Bu to return from his campaign.

As the blistering summer weather of the Southlands comes to a close, Lu Bu's army returns to the city of Jian Ye. His army, bolstered by new recruits and even some of the Shanyue tribes, numbers twenty thousand strong. Tales of his victories against the Bandit King Yan Baihu and the Shanyue tribes raises Lu Bu to a legendary status, and no doubt news of him conquering the South spreads across the land. Having helped Lu Bu conquer the territory west, your fame spreads as well. You await Lu Bu at the front gates of Jian Ye.

At the head of his powerful looking army, Lu Bu stands tall and proud atop his horse. From the last year of fighting, you notice in particular that Lu Bu has grown a well-grounded beard, seemingly having decided not to shave during his campaign. To his side is Chen Gong, smiling pleasantly as his plans of seeing the South conquered have gone well. The other generals follow behind in dutiful manner.

At the front of the gates, you and the others head out to meet Lu Bu. Lu Bu dismounts seeing you, and walks toward you with open arms.

“Zhu Xing! How great it is to see you once again, my good friend.”

>Greet Lu Bu with a respectful bow
>Greet Lu Bu in a friendly manner and embrace him

I think we should ask Lu Bu to make Gan Ning an admiral. He's a pirate, and no one else we have is experienced on the water.

If it was anyone else, I'd say respectful. But we haven't seen the Bu in over a year.
>>
>>33900226
We need to do two things.

1. We need to send a letter to apologise to Liu Biao about Gan Ning, to make sure Huang Zu doesn't slander us.

2. We should send a letter to Sun Ce praising him in the fight and that we're eager to fight him again.
>>
>>33900249

He's our friend as well as our lord.

Yeah, we need more naval generals. However, I don't want him to be limited to just naval battles. He's great at ambushes and everything else as well.
>>
>>33900249
>Greet Lu Bu in a friendly manner and embrace him.

It has been too long.
>>
>>33900261

And maybe he can help train some of the LT generals.

Song Xian or another general being good on water would be a good thing.

Bad plans are bad.
>>
>>33900249
>Greet Lu Bu with a respectful bow
Lu Bu feeds on praise
>>
>>33900285

No for the first, a letter to Cai Mao maybe in case Huang Zu tries to slander us.

Sun Ce, sure why not.

We should focus on getting our siblings married off and building up our navy.
>>
The first thing we need to do is visit Zhang Liao. He still isn't at friendly status with us, and that shit cannot stand.
>>
>>33900297
The problem is, is that in ROTK stealing officers from anyone SERIOUSLY damages relations.

If anything we should have Cheng Gong smooth over relations.
>>
>>33900285
>2. We should send a letter to Sun Ce praising him in the fight and that we're eager to fight him again.

I was thinking, could we try to play a meng huo type thing with ce? Meet him plenty, beat him plenty, but always let him go and act friendly and trustworthy and all.

A vassal might betray us, but a friend won't.
>>
>>33900285

Only the second letter with a bottle of wine, not for the first.

Honestly we should get that sent out soon. And I hope Raian-senpai doesn't force us to use a full turn to write a letter. That'll be silly.
>>
We really, really need to find our sister a husband before she becomes an old maid.

I suggest Gao Shun.
>>
>>33900299
We have to come up with it ourselves I think.

>>33900285
1. Nope, the whole point was to be discrete.

2. We should, and I'm partial to wishing him luck on avenging his father.
>>
>>33900362
Ce is not a friend. Ce is a rival, and one whose ancestral homelands we are occupying. Your plans are STILL terrible.
>>
>>33900376

Gao Shun is my first choice as well. If not, maybe Gan Ning? He's unmarried as well.

Zhang Liao is always an option, although sister would be second waifu.
>>
>>33900360

Huang Zu didn't even care for Gan Ning, would he report to Liu Biao about his retirement? Whats more Gan Ning's letter didn't even specify that he was joining us. By writing the letter, we bring attention to the issue.
>>
>>33900299

Some anon tried two threads back, he got shot down from a bunch of people saying "the name ain't right, pick another".

Sooo... who here understands Chinese better than that anon?
>>
>>33900384
But the fact is, is that Huang Zu will bitch to Liu Biao and disrupt the relations between our factions, therefore all the work we put in last thread WILL BE GONE
>>
>>33900410
Gan Ning sent a letter to Liu Biao informing him of his retirement. So he knows.

>>
>>33900396
If we help him kill that shit stain Huang Zu its not so impossible to become friends with Ce. Stop using meta knowledge that he wants to conquer the south to shoot down attempts to recruit him. He's a powerful warrior that would benefit our faction greatly if we got his clan to side with us and earned their loyalty.

>>
>>33900475
Stop using meta knowledge in an attempt to recruit him. All we know is that he's working for Yuan Shu and we kicked his shit in.

Your gigantic Ce boner is entirely meta.
>>
>>33900428
Huang Zu doesn't know where Gan Ning has gone either. Maybe he noticed the men missing but considering his opinion of Ning he likely thinks the guy just up and went to be a pirate somewhere.
>>

That means 'Heaven's will'.

That's just asking for it.

And that he wants Huang Zu's head. Its a reasonable assumption.
>>

>Tiān Zhì
If represented as Tianzhi, it can mean 'duty/vocation' or 'acquire' depending on the tone.

I think Tianzhi is fine.
>>
>>33900396
If our encounter taught us anything, it's that he, much like Xing, can respect a rival.

What are Gan Ning and Ling Tong? Rivals can exist under the same banner, you know.

All I'm saying is that there's an option available that isn't
>Kill him, he's gunna invade us someday, trust me
or
>Let's just recruit the cocksucker, he's super cool.
>>
>>33900589

Ling Cao was a recruitable general that we passed up.

Considering that Ling Tong's dad is still alive, the two might become friends if we recruit the father.
>>
Since Shu and Wei had their five elite generals groups, do you think Lu Bu will form his own with us in it? I like the name "Five Roaring Gales" or something else wind-related.
>>
Shouldn't our style name be Noodles in Sauce?
>>
>>33900530
Honestly, this will bite Huang as much as us if not more. Remember, the reason we got Gan Ning was because Haung was a glory hog even after sending us on a suicide mission. Sending an ally emesary who volunteered to help would be a big no no. Especially since that makes the Lu Bu Mad.

With a hearty laugh, you move to embrace Lu Bu and you both seize one another strongly. Lu Bu taps you on the back, as he motions for you to walk together.

"My good brother, I have heard you not only conquered Wang Lang's territories, but have also driven off that scoundrel Yuan Shu. Well done my friend, I knew that I could count on you. Soon I will announce my reign here in the Southlands, give titles to all my officers, and I will make you a lord over a city and give you households to rule. Name me any wish you want, and I shall give it to you Zhu Xing."

"You have given me far too much, Lord Lu Bu. Do you wish to boost my ego, and fill my head with so much air that I can no longer battle?"

"I have filled my heard with such arrogance long ago, and I can still kill a man a swipe of my halberd," Lu Bu replies as you both laugh.

As you walk together with Lu Bu through the city, numerous people swarm around to take a glance at the legendary lord and the general that conquered the South. Soldiers are needed to push some people away who cheer and attempt to come closer for a better glimpse of you two warriors.

"I have also received your letter concerning Liu Biao. I am glad to know you respect my authority, and wish to make no moves without my approval. However, I gave you the military tally of command because I trust you and have placed my faith in you. In the near future, if you think anything comes to my benefit, make no fear of deciding things yourself. You are my subordinate, but also a good brother of mine, Zhu Xing."

"Hmmm..." you reply, hands folded behind your back. "You put my in an awkward position. Should I make too many decisions by myself, people may begin to think I disrespect your command and wish power of my own. But perhaps you are right, key decisions must be made on the spot in good time."

Lu Bu waves his hand in dismissal.

"Take no concern of the opinions of chickens and shrimp. I am a dragon rising to the heavens, and you are a tiger growing wings. Hah, perhaps that makes Gongtai the fox with his little schemes and ploys. In any case, send me any one who would disrespect your honor by thinking you anything lower than a good general and brother of mine, and I shall have him thrashed."

Lu Bu stops, and taps you once again on the shoulders.

"I shall head back to the palace now. It has been far too long since I saw my wife and Diaochan. In a few days, I shall make an announcement of my reign here. Rest a bit till then."

You give a bow to Lu Bu, who departs.

---------------------------------------

The next day is full of gossip and people speaking about Lu Bu. You hear from them that among the people that joined Lu Bu, the famous Two Zhangs; Zhang Zhao and Zhang Hong have also joined up with Lu Bu. People begin to talk that your forces are unstoppable now.

Before you depart your household, you remember the fight you had with Sun Ce. He was one of the toughest warriors you fought, and he even gave you some trouble at the battle with Liu Biao's forces. Seeing yourself in some ways to the young man, you decide to send a letter to the young man praising his skills and announcing to him that you wish to fight with him once again.

With that done, you decide to pay a visit to Zhang Liao who has fought along with you the past year. You respect the man for his might and skill as a general, and you feel like you should become friends with the man. You visit his household and the servants quickly allow you in. At the living room, Zhang Liao is reading over some books and he rises to greet you with a bow when you arrive.

"Greetings, General," he says with a bow and a nod of acknowledgement.

"A good day," you reply with a bow back. "I was hoping we could have a chat, as fellow warriors serving under our lord."

"But of course," Zhang Liao says motioning for you to sit down as he sets aside his books.

Sitting down, you take a glance at the books Zhang Liao set aside. You think it is a good topic to bring up.

"Were you studying General? I hope I have not interrupted anything."

Zhang Liao nods.

"A general must be knowledgeable on tactics and warfare. Though I am a warrior at heart, I must also lead my men as they have entrusted their lives to me. And well..."

He takes out one of the books, looks at it with a slight sigh.

"I was reading upon my ancestors as well. One of my ancestors was a disgraced general, and long before my family name used to not be Zhang. We changed it to save us the disgrace from his failure."

You can see some of Zhang Liao's resolute attitude has to do with this disgraced ancestor. Sensing her may have some personal problems with this, you decide to dissuade Zhang Liao of any doubts.

"General, without your help, I think that the my campaign may have gone worse. Have no fear of your ancestors, you have done much to contribute to Lord Lu Bu's cause and I am certain he trusts you."

Zhang Liao nods.

"In one way, I feel I must make up for my ancestors as part of their blood and line. However, I will not let them dictate who I am here. I will not allow the failures of men from the past to prevent me from obtaining true might and serving my lord."

Zhang Liao smiles.

"But I thank you for your counsel and help, General."

"Hmmm... It is said that even a small game such as that is integral to strategy and knowing tactics. Very well," Zhang Liao replies, calling for a servant to bring a board and some stones.

You begin to play your game. Along the way you decide to discuss the lords of the land with Zhang Liao.

"What would you say of the current lords of the land? Are they a match for our force?" you say placing down a stone.

"The other lords? To be frank, I am not concerned much with them. I follow Lord Lu Bu, and his path is my only concern. Of all the lords, I do feel Cao Cao and Yuan Shao are our biggest concerns however. They have conquered sizable territories of their own, and I believe they have talented officers under their belt as well. For those like Yuan Shu and Liu Biao... Your match goes evenly for a while, but at the end, Zhang Liao manages to win at the game by a few points. You both respectfully attest to each others skill at the game, and talk a bit more before toue visit comes to an end.

"It has been a pleasure speaking together with you, General Zhu," Zhang Liao says with a smile.

You bow in return.

"Let us get us a few drinks next time, and perhaps even have a spar. I am afraid my wounds prevent me from doing so today."

"I would be glad to match blades with you. Farewell, until next time General."

The next few days, Lu Bu calls for a gathering of officers at the center of the city. Crowds and throngs of people gather to see. Lu Bu steps forward as people murmur amongst themselves excitedly.

“People of Yangzhou!” Lu Bu calls out. “I, the Flying General, have take it upon myself to govern these lands and lead the South to crush rebels and traitors filling this land. I ask each and one of you to serve me faithfully and help me bring prosperity back to these lands long ravaged by barbarians and bandits. I have killed Yan Baihu, and subjugated the Shanyue that have plagued your territory. I now look upon to kill rebels like Yuan Shu who scheme and plot to usurp the throne. With my elite army, my officers, and the cavalry that follow me, I have no doubt those who would oppose me shall me crushed beneath me. To those that have the courage and bravery to earn yourself a name, follow me to pierce the skies and heavens. To the others, I ask that you follow the law and follow your daily duties in earnest. Follow these simple rules, and I swear that you will live a good life under my law. I also make strict laws that my men shall not take or pillage the people of the Southlands. Those who do shall meet the law.”

The crowds of people cheer and raise their hands. Years before, Lu Bu used to pillage the lands and people for his army. You can see that as a lord now, he has changed some of his policies and character.

“Now, my faithful strategist Chen Gong shall announce titles and ranks for those that serve under me.”

“In light of his merits and efforts, General Zhu Xing is enoffed as Prefect of Wu and given the title of Inspector. Along with his title, General Who Manifest Might, he shall have control over a fourth of the army and has command over military and political affairs. Zhang Zhao, who has served to being stability back to these lands and has helped with developing our territories shall be enoffed as Administrator of Hui Ji and Senior Consultant. He shall have the greatest authority when it comes to managing these lands and enforcing the law. General Zhang Liao shall be given a hundred households, with the title of General of Tiger Courage...”

The ranks and titles go and on for some time, with additional speeches followed. At the end of the day, you are given jurisdiction over the city of Wu and have been granted additional privileges and titles. As the cheers subside, you meet with Lu Bu and the other officers once again.

“Inspector Zhu, which officials do you wish to take?” Chen Gong asks as he looks upon a parchment.

It seems you can request some officers to go under your command and be with you at Wu. It would be wise not to be too greedy and take all the talented officials however. The other territories will be needed them.

I'd switch out Lingqi with Song Xian if that's the case.

Song Xian was pro-looting and the Gan Ning, being an ex-pirate, is probably a little loose as well.

Gao Shun's the strong moral compass we need to keep other officers in line.

Your presence is always a reassurance on and off the battlefield. If it's not to your tastes then I leave our lord in your and master Chen Gong's capable care."

As the other officers depart from the meeting, you wait on the hallways for Lingqi. It takes a bit of time, but you see her coming out soon enough. You quickly walk next to her, and take a few quick glances to make sure no one is around.

"Lingqi."

"Yeah? What is it?"

You rub your chin, slightly a bit nervous. Why was this woman of all people so hard to talk to?

"I was wondering. We've done well together in the past, and I believe we can work together well again. Do you want to stay in Jian Ye? Or would you like to come with me to Wu?"

"Huh?" Lingqi says looking at you with a frown. "If you wanted me at Wu, why didn't you just ask at the council?"

"Well.. You got angry with me last time..."

"Oh." Lingqi slightly blushes, and she scratches her chin in response. "Yeah sorry about that. To be honest, I'm sort of embarrassed by that little outburst. Kind of make me feel stupid and petty thinking about it... Ugh." Lingqi scratches the back of her. "Well, if you really want, I wouldn't mind tagging along. But why do you want me there?"

Roll 1d100. Anything less than 90, and Lingqi cuts your dick off and game ends here.

Just kidding.
"Well to be honest... How can I put it without making a full of myself..."

Lingqi looks at you with a brow raised. Your clear your throat.

"I've grown quite fond of you Lingqi. I was hoping we could get to know one another better. I would be happy, and content, if I could know you would be my side. Not just for our future battles, but for our daily lives."

...

There is a bit of silence, and Lingqi stares at you absentmindedly for a while. After a few seconds pass by, she flushes and raises hands midair.

"W-Wait a minute... What? Did you just... What... Damn it be all!"

Lingqi fumbles on her response. Before she can reply, the sound of footsteps in the air being both of you to a stop. Lu Bu comes out of the council room.

"Ahh..." he says with a smile seeing you both, and coming alongside you both. "Are you two getting along well? I have heard you distinguished great service on your campaigns."

"Uhh... Yes, about that Father," Lingqi says stammering a bit. Lu Bu looks back with an odd looks.

"I was hoping I could head over to Wu. I think my skills would best serve over there, since you already have Masters Chen Gong and Zhang Liao by your side. Would it be fine for me to be there?"

"Hm? Of course. I think I have given up long ago on reigning you in," Lu Bu replies with a slight sigh. "Do whatever you wish. I am certain you would do well leading your men with Zhu Xing."

"Everything," you respond with a serious look. "Your ability to fight. Your bravery. The fact that you decide to fight in a men's world. Your guarded, hard exterior, but your kindness deep inside. And I think you beautiful as well.”

“U-Uhh...” Lingqi spits out, gritting her teeth in terrible embarrassment.

You arrive at the city of Wu. The city seems regular, not as rich as Jian Ye or Jing province. It seems there is much work to be done, in improving the markets and farmlands. You are in command of 5000 soldiers, who are still green and a bunch of recruits. You need to make sure to train them and raise more troops for future battles and campaigns. For now, there is no set goal, but Chen Gong informed you that Wu should focus on raising some troops and focusing on battles. It is likely for this reason that you were assigned at Wu, since it is close to the mainland and Yuan Shu's forces.

It is the Fall of 195. You should begin your task soon...

City: Wu
Administrator: Zhu Xing
Defenses: 40/100
Safety: 50/100
Support: 40/100

>>Siege Rams: 100 gold for 1
>>Siege Towers
>>Ballista: 100 gold for 1
>>Warships: 100 gold for 1

http://pastebin.com/BSVQuD83 <--- All the information you need for kingdom stuff.

The important things to note are that 1 turn of action takes 1 month. You are given an income of food/gold every three months based on Pol stat and the obvious city stats. Your troops must be paid and fed #/10 every three months which I will automatically add/deduct. Officers are paid 50 gold every three months and can take one city action or you may make them train on something (Stats will not be given because it furthers meta, but a generalized detail of their skills will be given if requested) No, you may not embezzle money, but you may add your own money to the treasury if you so wish.

To move things along further, we can do three actions three months. I need 6 rolls for these three months. On request, we can do actions slower or faster.

15 mins of Q/A on kingdom building, and discuss amongst yourselves before we actually begin kingdom building. You are starting on the 7 month, Fall.

Get at least 10k troops, with 2k cavalry

Search for talented officers.

We might want to start with improving lands and infrastructure for the first 3 months.

>>33904893

Gu Yong should be the administrator, Cai Yan and Yu Fan as his main assistants.

Yu Fan is far too abrasive to be the main administrator. Gu Yong's gentle nature will be much more valauble as the lead administrator.

So a plan like:

Month1
Zhu Xing: Build Defenses
Gan Ning : Raise Safety
Lu Lingqi :
Gao Shun : Train Troops
Song Xian : Train LDR
Cai Yan : Recruit Troops
Gu Yong: Improve support
Yu Fan: Improve Farmlands

Would be how you want this layed out?
>>
>>33904876
>>33904877
>>33904893
>>33904903

Since each of our officers can take a city action, let's not have Zhu Xing personally do anything that involves Pol besides Searching for a Talented Officer.

Zhu Xing should raise safety or train troops.

Our administrators should definitely improve our economy though.
>>
>>33904929
It'd REALLY help if we knew the relative strengths of our officers.

>>
>>33904848

Lord Gu Yong is immediately in charge of administration. 100 Pol after all.

Lingqi:
Raise Safety (War)

Gan Ning:
Recruit Troops (Cha)

Song Xian/Gao Shun:
Train Troops (Lea)

Cai Yan/Zhu Yang:
Raise support (Cha/Pol)

Yu Fan:
Improve Farmlands (Pol)

Zhu Xing:
Search for a talented officer (Cha/Pol)

This is my idea for our distribution of work.

If we can get more generals, we can get more done.
>>
>>33904980
On of them should become the official administrator. Let Lingqi train the troops. Gao Shun should raise safety since he should be popular with the civilians.
>>
>>33904980
Yes. And three of your own actions. You do 1 action a month, officers do 1 action every three months. I'm going to try and do three months an update, but that can be lowered or raised depending on how things go. Events may happen, etc. I need 6 rolls if you are doing the 3 month an update.
>>
>>33904832
>>33904848
>>Markets: 40/100

According to the pastebin, that means we only get 40 gold every three months. That can't be right, can it?
>>
Yu Fan is higher rank. He should be admin. And he's abrasive to those above him, but that doesn't necessarily mean his pol is low especially to underlings.
>>
Our first priority is to start recruiting troops and raising support. Our administrators will focus on improving the farmlands and markets, while our generals will help raise safety and train the troops. There, I propose:

>Yu Fan: Make administrator
>Zhu Xing: Build defenses
>Gan Ning: Raise safety
>Lu Lingqi: Recruit troops
>Gao Shun: Train troops
>Song Xian: Recruit troops
>Cai Yan: Raise support
>Gu Yong: Improve farmlands
>>
>>33904989
We yeah best Pol should run the city. We can do the war actions and probably the training.

>>33905011
We got good people right now we need to work on making more money and food. Then we train to fight.
>>
>>33905012
Honestly I think we should have Gu Yong search WITH us, at this first venture.
That way we can really get someone good
>>
>>33905012

Add in Gu Yong to 'Improve Markets' and we'll make use of everyone.
>>
>>33905019
Officers taking one action every three months is ridiculously stupid. Unless they are getting shit done three times as hard as one of our action that is crazy
>>
>>33905012
Who builds defense? Also we get 3 actions.
>>
>>33904848
For the first three crucial months, we should raise safety, train troops, and build up defenses in case of war.
Cai Yan can help increase support, Linqui with safety, Gu Yong On the markets, Yu Fan the Farms, Gan Ning for troop training, and Song Xian for safety as well.

A strong core is needed for our army, and Gan Ning could do well in teaching them how to handle naval battles. If we get some good men, we can gear them up properly with good quality armor, spears and horses.
>>
>>33905012

We need two more Zhu Xing actions, those look fine otherwise though.

Add a social visit (Lingqi or Gao Shun for marriage to sister), and WAR or LDR related action.
>>
>>33905044
We get three actions. I say Raise Safety, and Improve markets added to that.
>>
>>33905049

That is a good point.
>>
>>33905046
agreed, we need to make a solid foundation here first. Yuan Shu got pretty bloodied and should be cautious about attacking with Lu Bu back from his campaign. Now's the best time to focus on infrastructure. Once we've got that laid down we can start whipping our troops and defenses into shape.
>>

>>
>>33905230
I think we may want to try every possible action this time, to see how effective each is. That way we can make more informed decisions in the next 3 month turn
>>
>>33905216
Personally, I'd rather just do what I usually do in RoTK11.

Call a council, have the strategist lead the meeting and execute all of the plans offered by the council. 9 times out of 10, the plans are sound (though the construction layout is arsed and stupid) and usually executed in the same method that players use.

That said, I believe voting should be executed in phases instead of everyone just going BLEH and dumping their ideas like a bucket of slime all over their nana's living room floor.

>>33905235

>>
>>33905210

>>33905154 here and I forgot Gao Shun under train troops. Also, switch Gang Ning to Recruit troops and have Song Xian build defenses.

Income: 40 Gold per 3 Months

How in the fuck is this sustainable.
>>
>>33905278
I don't think markets are a 1:1 with gold earned per 3

We really need to just use every action with someone who isn't terrible with the requisiite stat so we know how much each action does.
>>
>>33905275
Wait, we need naval capabilities, Gang Ning needs to train the troops and Gao Shun needs to recruit troops.
>>
>>33905278

I think this might work.

We split the officers/administrators and the jobs into differing pools.

Unless otherwise tasked to the Special Duties pool, the leaders go into either their civil or military duties pool.

Tasks are the divided as such:
Civil:
>>>Raise support (Cha/Pol)
>>>Improve Markets (Pol)
>>>Improve Farmlands (Pol)

Military:
>>>Build defenses ( Int)
>>>Raise safety (War)
>>>Recruit troops (Cha)
>>>Train troops (Lea)
>>>Gather intelligence on enemy (Choose what type of information you are seeking and on who, Int)

Others:
>>>Train a stat (choose)
>>>Visit an officer (choose, people outside your city and within your own force is fine, Cha/Pol)
>>>Search for a talented officer (Cha/Pol)
>>>(Write-in action, though try to refrain from doing this too much)

And the we assign piriority for civil and military projects by 1, 2, 3, etc.
>>
>>33905556

Recruit troops should be in the Civil pool as well, administrators can recruit troops as well since it's a CHA based skil-set.

Alright. Looking over how much discussion was needed just to do this, and seeing as how I am expecting to do this for a year's worth of game time, we are going to simplify these procedures. The procedure I made would be great and fine if I was just working with one guy doing all the actions, but with like 10 other people, it's going to be disastrously long and boring runs with people arguing and getting angry. Number crunching will also make things last much too longer.

Every officer is going to be expected to do typical jobs: generals are patrolling and training, admins are doing paperwork and the like. Instead we'll pass the time like we did back when serving Dong Zhuo, with monthly turns and just a general description of what's going on with the city (The markets are average, the people are angry, etc etc [This is just an example, not how Wu is])

Officer events, city events, and the like to keep things up. Zhu Xing gets to do free-form actions based on what he thinks is most needed at the moment.

Is this fine? We're going to use this thread to discuss, and I will run another session tomorrow. I think things have transpired enough to warrant a thread end anyway.
>>
>>33905548
He can, but he never has and I doubt he will.

Plus, the bickering we have is pointless. We have no idea how effective any of these actions will be, so any plans are at best guesses. Just get this started so we can see how things go and make informed decisions next turn.

Raian, its a great idea. If you ever run a three kingdoms tabletop with your friends, use that system. But you gotta understand. Its too much for tg without an outside aide like strawpoll or something.

Truth be told I was excited for this phase, but yeah it seems it'll grind to a slog if we do this every time.

I'm fine with switching back to how it was during Dong Days. Maybe we'll get another kettle.

Q/A?

What would have happened if we'd told Lingqi that we wanted her along for her prowess and stuff?
>>
>>33905593
Yeah I'm good with this. There are too many people in this thread to repeat this multiple times.

Yay, thread tomorrow.
>>
>>33905593
Good solution. Might want to add a focus for the officers. Like focus on military, focus on domestics, or balanced. And then three special actions for us.

Raian take some advice from someone who saw Nazi's in fantasyland die a slow & painful death.

SIMPLIFY THE HELL OUT OF THIS OR THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN
>>
>>33905593

Could we also have a "City Objective" like they do in ROTK 10?

I think micromanaging all the officers is too much for /tg/, but returning to just Zhu Xing being Zhu Xing doesn't give enough gravitas to our position.

The officers will do their own thing, but they could spend more time on things.

For example: Civil: Focus on Markets/Farms, Military: Focus more on training

if you do first response, no bickering just regret
>>
>>33905593

Unrelated but did we get any stat ups for this session? Or stat decreases
>>
>>33905593
I feel that this will be better. We honestly don't run often enough for this to be viable.
I am honestly having a difficult time processing all this information
>>
>>33905725
Spaghetti -1
>>
>>33905596
My problem is I'm not a NEET, which I would love to be but cannot. Work + Quest is already 12 hours off a day. Other general activities also interfere.

>>33905619
Yes.

>>33905657
Did fine on interactions. As with previous thread advice given by Wang Can, a lot of problems you guys made yourself from being too afraid to do things. And no, other areas will be fine. It wouldn't have been if you took Zhang Liao, Taishi Ci as well.

>>33905679
Then you guys just stay friends until you get the courage to confess.

>>33905694
The objective will be when Lu Bu announces a campaign might start, warring with another faction, etc. For now, what is expected is for you to make sure troops are prepared and make sure the city is decently maintained.

>>33905725
No.
>>
>>33905739

7 PM Pacific tomorrow like usual?
>>
>>33905739

I think things would be fine if you just removed giving orders to each general. If all we did was direct Zhu Xing's actions, plus buy equipment for the army, that wouldn't be too different from normal actions.

It's a great system, I'd hate to see it get scrapped entirely.
>>
>>33905778
It's very micromanagy and not actually great. Once we figure out what officers do what actions best, we'll just have them spam those actions over and over until the city is fully upgraded.
>>
>>33905767
Yes.
>>
>>33905739

Since she already agreed to give dating a try, what would have happened if we confessed while 'friendly'?
>>
>>33905790
This is how I do it in ROTK X, should be fine here.
>>
>>33905739
I'd can't wait to see the paste bin get updated to see our reputation and relationship statuses

Also I'm really impressed by how Lu Bu is changing. How did that come about? It was the beard wasn't it?
>>
>>33905790
>Once we figure out what officers do what actions best, we'll just have them spam those actions over and over until the city is fully upgraded.

That's why I suggested we remove that part in particular and keep the rest.
>>
>>33905739

For the guys under our command, can you give us some rough indication of ability? Like A, B, C, etc.

So that we dont have to keep looking up rotk stats.
>>
>>33905810
It's unnecessary. All Raian has to do is assume we're spamming the officers doing their best actions and 90% of this micromanagement disappears.
>>
>>33905810

Video game and quests are different beasts. We have a limited number of quest hours per week.

Things might be different if it was like Hellborn Quest where it runs every other day.

We should make the best use of these quest hours while we can.

>>33905739
Raian you should just cut out Micromanaging the generals it's what is ultimately going to congest or even kill this thread.
>>
>>33905826
Now I think this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiJWCJc4Oec

His bread will end us all.
>>
>>33905842
Which honestly might be for the better, the micromanagement aspect can a be a little tough without something like a good UI to keep track of things.
>>
>>33905739

How close are Lu Bu and Chen Gong? Are they bros yet?
>>
>>33905890
It would have been nice to have gotten to know Chen Gong better. I hope there's a chance in the future... before we fight Cao Cao.
>>
>>33905866
Lu Bu has mastered the ultimate weapon; the halbeard.
>>
>>33905802
Refused but flattered.

>>33905837
Don't get in to the stats too hard. They are more important for you and are there for you to have a mechanical side to improve on. For all other officers, just think of their generalized abilities.

Obviously you can trust Gao Shun to do work. Song Xian is an okay dude, but facing off against Sun Ce alone, he will likely not make it unless he has overwhelming troops or something.

>>33905890
Friendly. Their relationship is slightly complicated. But they trust each other.
>>
>>33905969
>Song Xian is an okay dude, but facing off against Sun Ce alone, he will likely not make it unless he has overwhelming troops or something.

Like I keep saying, this nigger needs to go back to LDR college until the next big fight happens.
>>
>>33905969
That's good to hear

So it was Chen Gong's influence that lead Lu Bu to start maturing as a lord then? Or was it more him stepping into the role on his own?
>>
>>33905969
Has our wound still not healed? I recall last thread you said it'd probably be healed by the time this thread started.

Hope you aren't discouraged by the bickering today. Its still a fun quest.
>>
>>33905988

I'm fine with keeping him a decent general. We don't need to grind every general. Raian just said to not get into stats too hard.

We need him to work on recruiting and training troops anyway.
>>
>>33906012
>recruiting

no, his CHA is terrible.
>>
>>33906024
The QM just said not to look into the stats less than 5 minutes ago.
>>
>>33905969

Thanks then Raian.

3KQ is so much fun.
>>
>>33906048
Which of course means that generals have no strength or weaknesses and we turn Song Xian into the administrator.

You're retarded
>>
>>33906066

We were given no in-quest indicator that Song Xian had a below average charisma.

Only thing we know about him is that he's a decent general who was fine with looting and that he is prone to flattery.

You can assume that he would be a terrible administrator because he's a general. You can't assume he has a terrible charisma stat and would be inept at recruiting from that.

You are just justifying looking up ROTK 11 stats.
>>
>>33905969
I hope you reconsider abandoning the system completely. Take the advice here:

>>33905861
>>33905778
>>33905842

And give it a try for one three month period. This will remove the vast majority of the complexity, you could even give Zhu Xing one action for three months.

If we go back to the system from Chang An, it won't feel like we're in control all that much, which would be a shame considering how far we've come.

Either way, I appreciate efforts.
>>
>>33906089
Nope. You're just being fuckawful at figuring out people's character from descriptions.
>>
>>33906089
He also suggested abandoning our captial so he can panic more easily than our senior generals. Basically his a political animal that doesn't seem to have many strengths but is competent enough to use as a sub commander. Based on his actions so far in quest I'd question any movement to giving him more authority until he'd shown enough improvement to warrant it. I have no idea what his stats are like but in quest observation makes him seem mediocre and prone to cronyism but not useless or necessarily corrupt.
>>
>>33906124

Song Xian's advice has always had a sound basis. But it also show's he doesn't like to take risks or endure serious hardships in order to get a victory.
>>
>>33906098

This seems like a reasonable conclusion and I agree. Although I would wager his CHA is probably higher than Lingqi since he is a political animal and wants to advance.

>>33906098

Which Raian posts lead you to the conclusion that he has a terrible CHA?
>>
>>33906148
>"They have the advantage of the hills..." Song Xian mutters.

>"We bombard them for a few days, then commence an all our attack," Song Xian states. "We should be giving no rest to the enemy and make them surrender as quickly as possible."

>Song Xian suggests abandoning Jian Ye and moving back to Hui Ji, consolidating forces, and striking back together with Lu Bu

He's basically /tg/ pre-Wang Can advice.
>>
>>33906150
The fact that he's a toady and terrible at chosen method of advancement.
>>
>>33906148
>>33906150
>>33906162

Obviously we need to train him up.

I sorta see some affinity with him. We spar with him, train his leadership and get him to study books.

We'll turn him into a proper general.
>>
Speaking of Song Xian, we should remember his request that we allow him a few more opportunities for glory. Let him lead an opening charge or fight a duel with a commander that isn't too powerful he'd appreciate it and it'll help keep his loyalty so long as we throw him a bone every once in a while.
>>
>>33906186
If it doesn't take up turns, sure. Way too many generals and administrators to gladhand and he's fairly low on the totem poll.

>>33906206
This sounds good though
>>
>>33906230
It's kind of funny but the system in this thread would have been great for grinding scrub's stats up.

>important generals and admins focus on listed tasks.
>Scrubs focus on improving skills.
>Zhu Xing does one improvement action, one social action and one action to either help train up troops or scrubs/find talent.
>>
>>33906206
This seems reasonable
>>
>>33906206

We will make him into our Zhu Xing.

Shows promise but still low on the totem pole.
>>
>>33906273

Hopefully it wont take years for Zhu Yang to get in Cai Yan's pants.

Also, Gao Shun or Gan Ning for our dear sister? Gao Shun appears to be the one who will look after her more.
>>
Hey, can we begin training our younger siblings into useful people?
For instance, Yang could train to be a good administrator/governor/politician, and Yue could train in influencing people and ploys.
>>
>>33906303
We will have his head on a platter before the Liu Biao faction is done in.
>>
>>33906304
Have her meet with both, see which pairing is more compatible
>>
>>33906304

Gao Shun seems like a honorable type while Gan Ning is more of the rogue archetype. Depends on what sister is after I guess.

Little Gao or Gans would both make fierce warriors.
>>
>>33906318

I kinda liked Liu Cong. He wasn't the ambitious type and he was fairly humble. Even after we kick out the Cais, I want him to stay in place as prefect/governor of Jing.

Plus Lu Bu's daughter is happy with him, don't want to make her a widow if we can help it.
>>
>>33906340
Both sound damn good to me.
