Rolled 14The initial survival hurdle has been passed now will you yet continue to draw breath or shall the world come crushing down upon you?Last time among our people(who still don't have a name btw). Successfully imbued their weaponry and armor with jungle power, slaughtered a bunch of zombies, and a run in with the infamous Syn Syndicate.Bandits were impressed and people got thrown up on. Overall a good day and thread.Right now your people of a bunch of odd cultists and zealots located in a overgrown jungle that has overtaken this section of the megacity. Your part is rife with all manner of threats and you seem to have few decent neighbors. Considering your 'best' neighbor is a bunch of no good dirty ass bandits that is saying something.
Rolled 94Now as for that major bonus...its pretty fucking big.Considering talk of civ plans I will say it DOES grant you the possibility of a new civ start or recruiting a large amount of another civ.So yeah...its that big.Like I said major bonux. Bump, while I work up actions.
>>33473976>Considering talk of civ plans I will say it DOES grant you the possibility of a new civ startWhy would we ever choose that Genie? It's like, after all these sweat blood and tears we would drop a civ we cared so much for before the inevitable driving it into the ground.>or recruiting a large amount of another civ. This on the otherhand. . .could prove interesting.
Rolled 23>>33473976And what is with the sudden interest in zombie? You DO realize that is mostly about them being so fucking stupid that there are side effects right?Which makes it easy for me to use them to their full potential because when you get down to it...well zombies are much more dangerous then they are given credit for despite the whole stupidity which while being their greatest weakness can sometimes even prove their greatest strength.
>>33474034How we never use our stupidity as a strength. . .besides, Zombies have and still are the most numerous foe we have ever faced, and they do not suffer from hunger penalties in fact they get stronger when they are hungry. They are also protected from psionic tampering by their god. . .She whom everyone knows by now.
>>33473976I would vote forJungle Loving - The Jungle just fucking loves us and will do damn near anything for us. Our forces and the Jungle are, pretty much, inseparable.Whoever comes up with some actions needs to include shipments of food and water to the bandits.
>>33474034"Seeker, tell us more about 'hearts'. Does the jungle that is not ours, the greater jungle, have one already? What does a heart do? The way we imagined our heart of the Jungle, we would feed blood and souls into the Pit at our temple, and the heart would pump the nutrients to the vines and roots of our Jungle."** Dialogue **
>>33474276Why isn't that autoarranged yet I swear. . .
Rolled 10>>33474032The reason why you should choose it is because it lets your civ survive and you don't have to bear witness to driving it into the ground.>>33474034Anyway still working on ghouls but these are the major groups I am pleased with and have successfully worked out. There ARE others but I just ain't happy with them just yet...Rad ghouls against popular belief don't just LOVE the places that are radiated to hell. In truth they actually have a fancy for any environment that is especially hostile. Its believed that this trait has proven so popular as to make this previously unknown and rare archtype among the most popular ghouls today. For some reason they gain strength from their environment at the cost of increasing hunger and degeneration.Cannibalistic Ghouls occurs when one takes part in the flesh of their own kindred. Its a disease that for the most part slumbers unless you keep feeding it...which will then awaken it for its full splendor. An addiction of flesh for their own kind, degenerated mental faculties, and tough form are their hallmarks.Interestingly enough this is also the hallmarks of the Zombie...REDACTED INFO EXPUNGED RECORDS DETECTED.Three primary categories otherwise known as the most common of ghoulish kind.RadCannibalMonsterThe three largest of ghoul kind.Rad are known for their favorite environments, accelerated hunger and rapid degeneration.Cannibals are known for those who take part in the flesh of their own kind. they are reviled due to them picking up the ghoulish disease which gives them a craving for flesh, unending hunger, and warped body/mind. What triggers the disease to activate however is a bit hard to pin down.If previous ghoulish info is posted I may deign to provide additional information.>>33474280"I do not know.""A heart of what you speak isn't actually a heart...and is dangerously similar to something else entirely."
>>33474323>>33474032It does deserve note that the last time Genie gave us the opportunity to switch civs we did kind of encountered a near-death situation very shortly thereafter.
Rolled 95>>33473911Last Threadhttp://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/33429740/>>33474381You ARE in a megacity.Density for nasty things is sorta of a given.Granted for some reason it HAS been strangely quiet around your area. Kinda annoys me no fucking reason it should be that way. Like fuck...Come to think of it anon might actually have a point in some way.
>>33474456I assumed it was because it's nigh-impossible for most civs to find the other civs what with all the overgrown-ness of the city. You mentioned that it would be difficult/nigh impossible to find other people in this shit when we first began.
>>33474381>>33474456Here I thought we wanted long civs...and this has the makings of a great one, we're just on the cusp of it or destruction I feel.>>33474323"Tell us seeker, what danger do you speak of?"** Dialogue **
>>33474323"If you know what a heart isn't, certainly you should know what a heart is?We know what the sun is because we know it is not the moon."
>>33474034It's because they are simple that I like them. We over do things and it would be nice to take a real break from that. But mainly because I'm on a undead binge.
>>33474565Depending on how we spend our boon I think we'll survive whatever storm has been brewing unbeknownst to us.And...what I want to burn the bonus on is pretty obvious to me. Might not be the best decision though, anyone who's been watching us will know the type of stuff we're into so this wouldn't give us an ace in the hole. Then again, anyone watching us might be caught off guard by our powers suddenly getting cranked up to 11 in effectiveness.
Rolled 65>>33474565The reason you think your on the cusp of gratness or destruction is because your playing with fire. That 'greatness' is actually an adrenaline rush which helps dull you before the pretty 'lights'.Blinding you to the actual threats and dangers.Sure it might seem fun at first but...your sorta beating around the bush being unaware of actually how dangerous said bush is but you want the power...but only a little bit. Problem is said power even a little brings a whole lot of danger.Normally this is dealt with by being cultist as the forbidden lore chosen can nicely deal with it. Yet all your boons...were dancing around it hard to get a bead on it all. That is risky even by Cultist standards your getting much greater risk for lesser reward.>>33474526The area your in is downright nasty even by megacity standards.>>33474565"The danger that is jungle but not. Rather it is of something more.">>33474634"what your after isn't a heart..."
>>33474679Seems the boon allows us to recruit past civs...I wonder who would work best in our situation.Tectus? Grow Corp?
>>33474737Well Tectus would bring everyone down on us instantly for having Memor-types in our midst, also our members are fanatics but they're humans so they'd dislike being mixed in with mutants.>>33474711Could our great boon be a second Forbidden Lore?
>>33474711>Heroes are being abstract again>Fuck shit fuck>Where the hell is No-Mad the Sane or General Vizier when you need them, they always got to the point.

>>33474828>>33474793Remember, we can use one lore to tie up all the rest. We need to be smart about this one.
>>33474793Could we use the bonus to gain favor with the gods? One god in particular has a talking plant friend that could be very useful.
By the way, didn't we get that third 1 for searching Materials/Resources last thread?
>>33474711... Don't tell me the "jungle heart" is a brood hive or something.
>>33474901 thread died before it could resolve, also STFU
Rolled 64>>33474860Well we've got ritual knowledge coming out of our ears, we sacrificing to improve the jungle's power, we've got weapons/armor that draw power from the jungle, we've got jungle control, and then semi-randomly we withdraw people's souls whenever we kill them.We do need to be careful, but this might be one of those where the answer is kind of staring us in the face.
>>33474966Grr, where is smartanon when we need him.
Rolled 17>>33474929There have been a good number of pretty strong hints dropped that...whatever the Heart of the Jungle is we may not exactly like it when we find it. I haven't scraped the archives to get a good idea of what it might actually be though. I get this feeling that the screen hiding it is gossamer thin though.
>>33474966I figured we just install our jungle heart into the jungle, like a DVD player, or carpeting.
Rolled 19>>33474966I think the best thing I think can take right now is:>Favorable Empathy of the JungleThe Jungle (prereably all types of Jungle, not just "ours") favors us, knows us, likes us, adores us with the same love we give it, and no matter what heinous sin we commit against it it shall always love us, seek to aid us and work with us we ask or need it.Vines wrap around us when we go into hiding, experiments in laboratories seemingly go well revealing new info, hungered scouts always find fruit, and our crops grow as never been seen before.
Rolled 94>>33474982He's around, but I have things that prevent me from scraping the archives for clues for hours like I used to.Here are my notes, not really many comments in this one but I copy+pasted various stuff. http://pastebin.com/Wbh0fhiR>>33475060Genie commented in a past thread that he expected us to take "Forbidden Lore: One with Jungle or something like that so you'd tie all your bonuses together."The one above has the advantage of giving us tons of lore and such about the jungle as well as amplifying our powers and such because the jungle is 'ours' (and we are its).
>>33474996Then with the boon lets turn this jungle or our area in to our jungle. Let there be no iffy bits. The jungle's love for us makes it become whole with us or something.
Rolled 26>>33475109And it'd be pretty silly of us not to take something that came from the GMs own mouth.Heh, although suggestions from Genie do have a tendency to sometimes not turn out well. RIP, British Tribalvivors.
>>33475116Or we can just break the setting.
Rolled 89>>33475146>>33475109Now I've got to pop out, but good luck. Just don't be stupid, don't let Godzilla roll for anything, and we'll make through. The new pop mechanic should help significantly with civ resilience.

Rolled 18>>33476281That sounds interesting. Do we want to accept the info or tell them that we were actually going to take another crack at the Holy Grail soon and would like some assistance in that.

Rolled 87>>33476179Supporting wholeheartedly.>>33476281Sounds like a fine deal to me. Tell them they can keep their resources though, we'll be calling on them for some help with something soon.
Rolled 45StorytimeSo..we got captured dragged along luckily they grabbed the wounded guy while me...I got to look forward to having a gun pointed at my back the entire time. Took us a little awhile but eventually we ran into a crude fort. Broken pieces of building and welded heaps of vehicles, metal scraps. There was a crude gate that was opened. First thing I noticed was smell followed everyone who there was packing. That was when we went our seperate ways and i was dragged off. Past the crude open aired kitchen where I noticed a few cooks and guards as well as chained and or collared women attempting to work. that is when they weren't bent over and fucked right there.Usually this didn't happen in the kitchen as the cooks would get pissed about them 'getting in the way' about outside in the mess hall it was fair game. Not uncommon to see a full blown train ran through them.Quite vile after all me however I was passing through these ruined crude areas off to a certain ragged structure...one that had at one time been a pharmacy had the look to it. But we weren't going there next door to it in even more ragged and somehow bloody shape there was a blinking neon sign crudely stating it to be a 'clinic' the other parts of the sign was nonfunctional. There i didn't go through the big door unlike the wounded but was instead taken around to the side and up the stairs.
>>33476457birthday thread>>33476281"That'll do, though really we would like another whack at the big Resource pile, but as you know the chainswarm horde is there.Bar obliterating all of them, seems the only way to get rid of them is to get them to chainswarm somewhere else. Unless you guys had ideas."
Rolled 52>>33476561Well yeah, it's in the birthday thread somewhere...?
Rolled 24>>33476561If our forbidden lore passes and our powers attain their fullest I want to sacrifice some of our own and just descend upon that entire nest like a wave of blood and thunder while the bandits deep strike in and extract the materials/resources themselves.
Rolled 43>>33476539Upstairs and through the door...I noted what appeared to be a library along with a work bench. There a person turned around who I assumed to be the doc considering the unease and the fact that is was the first clean female hear who wasn't chained or collared."Got you some medical help doc and a one with a dick at that.""I wouldn't need to be some damned picky if it wasn't for what you dumbasses needing your dick wet no matter how filthy the hole.""Eh what can be said nurses ARE rather hot after all.""Yes piss off those who have medical training not to mention you never once brought in an actual nurse yet no matter how much they lie or the outfits you give them.""Ah well you see-""Get out.""Uh doc this one ain-"Do you question by ability to defend myself? Besides we have his friend hostage and considering he was willing to stay behind to save him well I'll be just fine."With that the bandit left and I found the doc appraising me."Training?""Uh...""What do you know?""Well basic first aid training, hands on experience, and reading whatever medical texts I can.""Well that certainly puts you above most and in many circles we see these days you'll be considered a doc. Alas we actually have standards here.""And what makes you better then me?""I was a medical student.""Oh wow how impressive!""I can notice the sarcasm granted stuff happened before i could graduate properly but i by far have better know how then 90% of those today being considered a doc.""So there is 10 percent who are still equal if not better then you?""If you weren't such a smart ass and i didn't need the help you would be wishing you were dead.""Oh well considernig their lack of interest in men I could expect torture and death.""A good chunk of those bandits are actually gay.""Oh...well shit.""Anyway I require your assistance.""For what exactly?""Saving your friend's life."

We're getting ahold of someone who doesn't care if they live or die, now tell us the rest of the plan eh?We were thinking we would hit the nest from the outside to draw the fuckers out, then use our man to draw the inevitable chain-swarm away (with our guys funneling them along to him or smacking their shit). After the center has been thinned out by those actions you guys could insert in by air, nab the goods, and extract out.

Look that place is crawling with zombies and has a bunch of monsters lurking all around. said place also has a bunch places for the zombies to find themselves as to make for a nasty surprise. There are a lot of twists and turns no real open places of good hallways to set up places to kill real well. A single guy who has a death wish can't do anything about that. Say you are effective only within your base area you get one action. You expand to include your homeground area that is another action. You expand to your local region that is yet another action. You expand to multi region scale. Yet another action.Continental another action.Planetary another action and so on.
>>33479274That sounds very biased to the type of terrain, and also having population=actions is a staplemark of your games, a longheld tradition that would be missed.
Rolled 54>>33479274Said 'actions' represents putting together ALL your resources and spare time doling them out together in mass. Thus an 'action'.Stuff may of course be automated or become self sufficient. To basically represent in loose terms the amount you can put together every 'turn' each action represents in total what can be scrounged together in a possibly overarching plot or focus.you start of with your HQ will is the only settlement that is guaranteed to offer an action no matter how badly things go against or for.settlements and pop alone will and cannot make certain of an action. An example for you to understand is the following. The memor. As they globe of influence expanded they were able to put together more and combined with the efficiency the hivemind could offer...Another example this time as canon and not player.ghoulish Krulsade vs Red Army.>>33479348Manpower is always needed. Remember to really consider your globe of influence your own your gonna need settlements to serve you. Really though I had to figure something out for larger scale civs this FINALLY offers a solution.Acquire resources.Produce manpower.Protect your interests.Population will still be VERY important.
>>33479436I would like to expand and add more settlements, but I wouldn't feel safe until we've at least reached Memor starting population of roughly 2500 before we do any major expanding like they did. Base Burk had 2000 people in it alone, and it still wasn't entirely secure. no way we could set up a second base with mere hundreds.Basically we really should get our population to those levels before we start emulating their expansion.
Rolled 10>>33479436At first appearance Ghoulish Krulsade should of won. They were seemingly a continental power against a multi regional such as the Red Army.Except for one the following. They hadn't actually had the entire continent under their control. They were fighting in Red Army lands. They were not a professional force fighting to protect their land, people, families, belief ect.Action wise they were equivalent but when you factor in the other stuff it became lopsided.Yet still they hung on.Why?>>33479436Those actions offered by the way?ARE SOLELY GENERAL ACTIONS.ANDThere is no longer an action cap. That means you can invest in such as to acquire 'free' actions of certain kinds as well as stuff offered by heroes became that much more important. Those actions offered? Are soley your basic actions. There is no longer an action cap.in exchange however those that offer 'free' actions and to allow automation or specialized stuff will of course become more expensive but harder to acquire. This allows for specialty to arise where you can truly flourish in and crush competition...if your willing to invest in it enough to get those returns.>>33479514It includes a bunch of other stuff as well anon basically combined it offers such.
Hmm, actions actions actions what to do. We have resources at least, and I know we did some planning last thread. Lemme go back and see.
Rolled 43>>33479576and with pop fixed...well and this finally determined.Welcome ladies and gentlemen to large scale civ potential.NO longer shall we be held back utterly by pop.NO LONGER shall we be held back by actions.NO LONGER SHALL we be held back away from large scale civs.and this ties in perfectly with my previous working in the two types of gameplay.Where players can either each control their own civ OR each play as a special unit sharing a common civ.Truly a grand breakthrough...so many in so short a time.Population.LARGE scale. What more is there to determine?
>>33479576This is a very radical change in one of the basics of playing of your games, I'd like to take a closer look at it but for now I'm just so used to the old system.>>33479688I'd like to help you with large scale population.Getting the pop back to 2500 has been a goal of mine in every civ yet, it's a huge dissapointment and humiliating that we're stuck to hundreds and are so easily killed when they were capable of losing 3 Times as many population as any one of our civs and bounc right back. I swear one day we'll see it again.
Rolled 29>>33479730It is rather radical...Still though this is something I have been trying to figure out since the Memor. And now i have it down.Population basically serves to grease the wheels so to speak.Makes everything easier and god help you if you have too little. It is still VERY much important to an incredible degree.I have been thinking about it the wrong fucking way about it this entire time because I thought it should be all about the pop with only a smattering of the other stuff or possibly settlements. I was thinking of the actions that way because I was ALSO trying to figure population at the same time. Now that one was completed I was then able to look at the other with new clarity.sure that is important...but overall it is not everything.Actions basically equal that everything you have to put together to pull it off or at least try to anyway. Thus it isn't solely pop, settlements, resources, or the ground you can cover. Its all of that and more coming together to complete a single purpose/action.That is what they are.
Rolled 25>>33479901Though it seems like my rambling has killed the thread...shit.
>>33479999No, just working on actions that is a lot to absorb by the way. It's a major game changer too, so don't expect it to be implemented soon.

That was when the Prophetess brought up match making stating that while yes that does result in greater population gain problem is there is less attachment and further draw on resources due to lacking quality. Amazingly enough Witch agreed with her the Seeker for his worth just muttered something about 'hiveminds' and 'family' fixing those so called problems along with how much fun it would be.It was also brought up that currently we don't really have any gods.We COULD ask around to see what crops up or go digging around in the library to see.>Turn 41>>>>>>A. Rolled 49>>33483225Good point.Name:Sir Richard Didrickson the 3rdLineage Age: Fairly new, but still given due respectSpecial Magical Beasts (Digger Moles, more of a construction unit than a fighting unit though they've got some nasty natural weapons)Special Footmen (Unbreakable, possible magical armor?)Badass SnipersElite RangersBasic Grunts
>>33483363Special: Golems made for building with earth.... :( I want undead. But Footmen Spartans would make good special.
Rolled 16>>33483402Yes, those golems would probably work better than the Digger Moles...but would we need a unit of warlocks to go with them?Name:Sir Richard Didrickson the 3rdLineage Age: Fairly new, but still given due respectSpecial Earth/Stone Golems (for manipulating earth)Special Footmen (Unbreakable, possible magical armor?)Badass SnipersElite RangersBasic GruntsAah, this good? I kind of want to get to playing.
>>33483402Undead Knights would be awesome, but maybe not for noble advisors.not yet at leastFear not though, we have opened the Bloodgates to Genies Pre-Apocalyptic Fantasy Civ Quest!
Rolled 24>>33483479you do realize you could always hide your undead out of the way yes?>>33483466to be fair anon troop choosing is very important but unlike before people seem to be slower in this one.
>>33483495It is rather late, and we're thinking this stuff up on the fly.
>>33483495New stuff makes us think. Did you get that thing I sent you?
>>33483363Digger moles? Really? How about dire elephants? We need some kind of shock troop, or cavalry.Maybe celestial hounds?Or drake riders?
Rolled 2>>33483534Like I said false info and that name happens to be quite common hence why I picked it. Also tend to use other info but never my own.also thanks for the money.>>33483536Considering the options that is magical beasts plus required upkeep make it simple.
Rolled 35>>33483536I was leaning towards these guys being more defensive. I wanted a unit that could help us enhance our fortifications.
Rolled 84>>33483620Basic troops and not so complicated choices.
>>33483620True, But i wanted to be sure. I view it's better to say something then nothing at all.Any ways should we finish pick now or move over to a new thread to finish?
>>33483682If we're going to be advisors, it means we're going to be getting other people to do the fighting for us (hopefully) we need a charismatic something to get them on our side. Now I'm not saying a succubus or a suave demonic lawyer or something like that, but. . .something like that.
>>33483682Ok let's do this>>33483466God I hate chargen
>>33483698Why not both they will be a tag team. But I main person should have this down.
Rolled 94>>33483698An Advisor's first words would be "First ensure you are beyond defeat, for that is within your power. Then you may wait for the enemy to give his the opportunity to defeat him.
Rolled 12>>33483698sure you can get a charismatic outsider but they have the bad habit of tainting bloodlines.>>33483720It is swinging back and forth. From what I can tell...Well not much honestly.so just make your votes and decide upon your options.
>>33483822Oh right, blood purity. It's late for this anon, kinda wish we could sleep on the decison so we're not voting tired. But I'm gonna get some coffee and get right back to thinking up something that doesn't get us killed.(psst, can our Advisor give us advice on what heroes he'd of picked if given the chance?)
>>33483466One day undead one day. But other wise we should be good. Just make the best walls ever and we should kill a lot of things.
Rolled 10>>33483866He is available for advise as we speak.Considering current lack of available resources he suggest investing in troops who are cheap to maintain. But it is torn between quantity or quality.
>>33484013Golems and Death knights! or golems and maybe dryads.
>>33484013Can we have a fully construct army? Very little upkeep for a decent 1 time investment.
Rolled 43>>33484055I'd be down for a fully construct army.It might be subject to 'hacking' by magical enemies though.
Rolled 18>>33484097Indeed or going berserk.>>33484055No.You could burn 4 stuff on golems and 1 on basic but that is max.As elite/badass can be either or thanks to being an advisor.
>>33484013>Troops who are cheap to maintain>With some Quality SpecialsOkay, so here me out here guys. I suggest, if it were possible, we forgo the Badass units and go for Elite Ranger-Snipers.These men will, as Rangers, be able to forage for food and water more easily, thus decreasing our consumption of fod and water. As Snipers, they will also be highly effective stealthed units at range and we will be able to train more of them and they will be very cost effective. Thus, even with our small size we can still prove an efficient and capable force. Is this acceptable Genie?
Rolled 21>>33484134>Medieval Operating OperatorsI like it.
Rolled 9>>33484129Hmm, good thing I intended for the earth golems to just be construction agents anyway.
Rolled 33>>33484134hm...So bad ass rangerelite rangerbasic sniperThat still leaves your two specials anon.or you could swap the ranger/sniper mix it around. You still got specials which could easily go quantity or quality for cheap if you choose it right.
>>33484134I say we make the special a builder and a tanky defender. The way the rangers can do stealth missions and the basic can help fill in.
Rolled 94>>33484051Dryads could be an option under Special.>>33484134Basically anon I specific make up of your forces.Once that finalized it would indeed be acceptable.>>33484153Actually yes come to think of it a bit on the lighter side of things though.>>33484173Just because they are earth doesn't mean they can manipulate it right away.Just realized i forgot to place mages under the basic option...whoops.So that is indeed an option and will take the place of grunts.>>33484202That would be acceptable as long as they are both considered special unit types.
>>33484177>So bad ass ranger>elite ranger>basic sniperThose would all be lopped into one cohesive Ranger-Sniper person, with the capability to train more of them yes? I'm planning for them to be our mainline troops, not the grunts, but certainly a sizeable number of them. Say out of a force of 100 you'll find 20 or 30 Ranger-Snipers
>>33484134Eh. I liked the defensive concept we had. But I would like to work on it.>Earth GolemsAwesome walls>snipersFeel meh, but good synergy with the wall building golems, sentries in my mind.>rangersWe need then for scouting That leaves us with one more advanced troop slot. Might i suggest >siege engineers Ballistas are really awesome to have when you live in a place with giant killer fauna.>basic footmenObligatory
>>33484228Would clerics or paladins work? Healing knights for the kingdom of the sun! With Golem builders, Sniper/ranger teams and Footmen or grunts to fill in the meat of our troops.
Rolled 37>>33484282That's pretty good. It should go thusly though:>Special: Earth Golems>Special: Siege (Castle?) Engineers>Badass: Rangers>Elite: Snipers>Basic Footmen
Rolled 8>>33484237Uh...doesn't work that way for basic, elite, or bad ass units.Specials get to go solo unit due to them being well...special.>>33484295Clerics would be under mage or special.Golem builders...possible but expensive.everything else would work fine.
Rolled 23I'm tempted to suggest a based Tercio build.>SpecialCannoneers>SpecialMusketeers>Badass+EliteRanger/Snipers>BasicPikemenVirtually indestructible to anything but excessive ranged fire and not being in formation.
>>33484353Love it! But upkeep not going to work well. Main reason I keep the golems in the no need to eat.
>>33484353Messing with gunpowder in this setting is probably like messing with psy crystals, except more likely to Literally blow up in our faces :3 If it's legal then I'm down
Rolled 49>>33484353The issue is expense, those are all very expensive...especially the cannoneers and musketeers. And we're broke.
>>33484380Oh, right, we are broke...Back to backing this>>33484332
>>33484409Yeah, a great pity.
Rolled 44>>33484336Well Here is what adviser whose name i still don't know(please don't make it a blunt rip off I want this to be its own thing).Adviser suggestion because fuck you all for choosing an adviser who would actually know his or her shit."Considering dangerous war torn lands everywhere with us being in the borderlands by the narrowest of margins with wilds before us.""When one also deigns to consider the settlement that will be ours. Here is my suggestions."undead KnightsOutsider SpiritsElite SniperBad ass rangersBasic Footmen"They would be damn cheap and pack one hell of a punch. Spirits offer us magical support undead knights a hardened cavalry force and heavy troops both. Elite snipers for guarding and the occasional offensive. Ranges to screen our flanks and get the lay of the land. Basic infantry for boots on the ground. A balanced mix and damned cheap besides the basic footmen but ah well no real easy way to avoid that but at least we will have only 1 force costing us instead of many."
>>33484332Yeah this will work. Engineers and golems team up to make the best things ever.
>>33484448>(please don't make it a blunt rip off I want this to be its own thing). Was only suggesting it as a possible ancestor to Wil the V, but if you want a different name so be it.
Rolled 91>>33484448Supporting the Adviser's advice then. His name? Stanislaw Vraum.
>>33484448Aw and I liked Richard. Sir Jeffry of the mountains.
>>33484490Second advisors advice>>33484515Sir Richard Jeffry the V?
Rolled 47>>33484474hm...fuck.How the hell did someone figure out my settings are all in the same setting?Fuck I had thought my stuff on the whole multiverse thing was so damned hard to notice...Fine you got me anon and you get a free bonus for being a clever git and figuring it out.fuck.Choice can be a single stat booster additional unit of your choice but can't be badass or elite but may instead be a basic/special. Can also take the form of...resources or in this case money or materials.Structures stuff like that.Hell you could even choose to power up one of your units.Because my bonuses are VERY adaptable.
>>33484448Erik Von Goldenlichtinsteinsky
Rolled 57>>33484526In fact make it two bonuses or a greater one if you use them on the same thing....because i his legit impressed also disappointing in myself. So never mind name is JUST fine.
Rolled 31>>33484547>>33484526So fucking disappointed in myself...and damn you smartanon. Here i thought it was so damned obscure.>>33484571You could basically upgrade anything in that stat page or something else like units.
Rolled 1>>33484525I will coin flip 1 Stanislaw Vraum / 2 Sir Richard.>>33484526I kind of want dryads to help with growing of plants and water finding. If we go with advice we get a cool life and death thing going.
Rolled 18>>33484614So burn the boon on a dryad unit? That would be acceptable. Also still means you still have another average boon to burn.
>>33484644If people are down for it. Water well so we can have some water income for the base and not just river water or what we been drinking.
Remember the Cultists guys. Whatever we pick, it's got to tie all in together or we're left with a big mess to clean up.
Rolled 20>>33484644Unless you burn both in which case you get THAT kind of dryad...
>>33484595Double awesome construction golems? Eh..In our initial stats it says we have a >fallen keepCan we use the bonus to help the keep redeem it's self in the eyes of its gods?(Fix the keep)?
Rolled 97>>33484714You could indeed.
Rolled 93>>33484714Perhaps fixing the keep as one boon and having an internal spring (if we have a castle we should have this anyway, so really it's an upgraded).
>>33484687I was thinking if we go with advice we got undead protectors at night, Dryads that help farm at day and well water for the town. We could even base the towns religion around life and dead both needing to coexist.
Rolled 33>>33484730Would also work.>>33484697Btw upgraded dryad results in dryad not being an immobile force which is the biggest boon.Basically they ride around on trees often enough they are treants of whom their bound to.
>>33484769I will not lie that is kind of cool. But dam so much to pick from.
Rolled 57>>33484769yes that is exactly as badass as it sounds.Hence why they are classified as a bad ass dryads.Elite ones don't get the mobile boon but their boosts are much stronger.
Rolled 50>>33484803Anyway you still got two boons to burn.Adviser suggests...Well either additional cheap units or stat boosts including potential infrastructure upgrades or construction. Cash may also be good.
Rolled 1>>33484871What would Herr Advisor think of upgrading the keep and its internal spring?
>>33484803I'll bet that double upgraded anythings would be badass. What would double upgraded unicorn cavalry look like? Or double upgraded dire bears?
>>33484899I think you know.
Rolled 39>>33484886"An excellent choice both boosts security and makes us not a clean internal water source.""Only problem then would be food and additional security.">>33484899Unicorn cavalry double upgraded results in dire unicorns with spirited maidens. As for double upgraded dire bears...>>33484924Pretty much also super as well.
Rolled 95>>33484951Herr Advisor, you are more familiar with the land around our future castle than we are. Would it be possible to establish agriculture for food with our clean internal spring?
>>33484951Well that will be or next things to work on. But I will back >>33484448 Advice and >>33484886castle spring. Now we need a faction name ... Forever knights? ... Rangers of the forgotten keep? ...
Rolled 1>>33484994"That would mean somehow taking it outside the keep."
Rolled 94>>33485194Are irrigation canals not a thing here? Like, once it fills up our aquifers it just kind of flows out.
Rolled 98>>33485237The keep in question is built inside on an outcropping of rock.
Rolled 44>>33485347Oh, neat.Well...I figure we can't have everything so perhaps we should leave getting food up to the gods?
Rolled 44>>33485393I say yes. But lets check with the dice.
Rolled 36>>33485415>>33485393The dice, aah, agree.
>>33485440Big time.Choose your bonuses.Noticed its torn between dryads or keep upgrade.
Rolled 89>>33485455So...non badass dryads would just be invested in stationary trees that would (presumably) be around our base?Would they help with the fertility of the ground or anything like that?
Rolled 18>>33485568They would have magic at their command and other powers.
I guess we will pick this up Tuesday or are you down for tomorrow Genie?
Rolled 39>>33485614Then I'd vote:>Dryads>Improved Wellspring
Rolled 4>>33485773And otherwise I vote for the advisor's suggestions for troops. And we know what his name is.
Rolled 50>>33485740Don't know will depend on how things work out as i am currently moving. It would appear my only belongings fit in a bare handful of boxes, a cot, and a dresser is all what I will have left.I don't really wanna wait till Tuesday though so I will see what I can do either tomorrow or this weekend.
>>33485773>>33485881Sounds good to me. But that make only two of us.>>33485897Nice, I know that is not much fun.Cool well see you then. Night people.
Rolled 19Sleep bump.
Morning bump, let's see what sort of consensus can be reached
Rolled 30Another bump bites the dust.

>>33490174I believe we only got to boons. Which it would be Dryads and well, Castle and well and so on.I believe the well will be the best thing we could get starting out. Probably will have to put that thing on lock down. Undead will be a pain but thinking if we use them at night or maybe cover them with a plant the Dryads could make to help hide them would help. Spirits not so sure on. I want to think people of this time understand they are here in the world and more people except them.
>>33490300>except... dam it Accept. Wow sorry for the spelling errors.
>>33490300>Which it would be Dryads and well, Castle and well and so on.Can you explain? I thought the two boons were were after are Dryads and a better water well

Rolled 68>>33490174>>33490300urk so sick today anyway here is what I am gonna do.You can have the indoor spring and the badass dryads if it pleases you. While the keep is in disrepair that isn't really all that big of deal.
>>33491211Oh yes, then do that. Getting dryads would normally be harder than repairing the keep
>>33491211Cool. Then we can add the base repair to the story. Like found this place or it was a family fort the went down from lack of repair and we came to reclaim it.
Rolled 57>>33491211Works for me
Rolled 98>>33491211Alright here you go.stat info for troops.Undead KnightsTrait UndeadOfficer Jargens a death knight odd fellow as not 'quite' dead or alive for that matter. Commands the undead knights under him are about two score.Gear are mounts and their equipment. Bit on the battered side but still quite serviceable.Upkeep costBare minimum they only need their gear taken care off of and on. They don't even require much pay but in exchange there are certain things their interested n.Outsider SpiritTrait SpiritOfficer known as Genie odd fellow who your forced to deal with for the sole fact its the only one who can take a humanoid form and is willing to deal with others. Noted to best not ask about personnel life or wishes.Gear...is nothing at the moment depends upon the individual.Upkeep cost is regular odd payments. Stuff is weird with what they request Genie brought up a different means of payment but it has yet to be investigated. So far their not expensive but more weird.Elite Snipersyou have about a 50 of them. Top quality snipers where they lack in everything that rangers due besides accuracy and ranged they more then make up for in those two things. They wield crossbows and prefer lighter mail and leathers.Officer Kandace leader of the elite snipers possesses a rare magi weapon as a reward for being the best of the best.Upkeep cost is less then expected as they are pretty good about taking down the occasional critter which helps it not hurt as much. Still require pay though and unlike the rangers they don't regularly bring in stuff to help offset it.
Rolled 9We able to do actions?>>33482928>>33483354Because we need food bad.
>>33491710Well I guess our first goal will be raiding a mineshaft or mage tower. But what do the dryad want? as well as the foot men.>>33491846I assumed we would do it in a new thread.
Rolled 36>>33491710Bad ass rangersFor when you need someone to cover ground quickly, effectively, and behind enemy lines while still making it out intact these are your guys. Not including their duties at screening, covering flanks, and acting as skirmishers. They seem to be flourishing out here in the boonies its the damn near perfect environment for them.Upkeep bare minimum thanks to their skills they like the undead knights you don't really suffer that much. Hell often enough they downright supplement you and your forces with what they manage to bring in regularly.Officer Joyce the one ranger who you can actually reach regularly unless there are some wounded recovering. Unsurpisingly also serves as the officer/liaison between you and them. Commands about 50 guys. Unlike the other rangers his other duties prevents him from going on real long trips regularly. So instead he tends to be much more thorough with his 'explorations'.His rangers hate him for it but he has to do something to stay sane and make up for it, also a fabulous trapper.Gear is hides, carapace, and light metals along with bows, and light melee weapons.Basically they like their armor light and their weapons light besides their bows.Upkeep...is actually a positive as in they bring up much more then they cost.Bad Ass dryadsOfficer Cecilla connected to a treent known as Cracks to everyone but the dryads. To be fair though its actual name is a bitch to pronounce.A bunch of badass dryads who are unlike many of their brethren not limited in mobility or distance. Suffice to say they are well worth it though you are rather uncertain how to deal with them as while the spirits are certainly unusual at least they are not Fae.Upkeepwell it doesn't cost anything to maintain them but they still require payment. At the moment you have been rather inventive about it so far but they ain't exactly cheap if you pay them in classic means.
>>33491710>>33491877Cool the rangers will help with some. But the dryads will be the hard part. I hope a place of land to call their own and basic needs helped with will be ok with them. I assume they will not be happy with us cutting down a lot of trees. Well thanks for the info Genie. Can we take this as your willing to run while your sick or do you want some time to wake up?
Rolled 16>>33491877Basic Troop Footmen numbers 100Gear breastplate and leather. Short Sword, spear, and shield.Hardened veterans thanks to these wartorn lands their officer is Captain Rainheart who started off as bottom barrel and worked his way up to being an officer without any help, bribes, or training. Not even a noble but a commoner of all things.Him and his boys are veterans and well trained.Upkeep is the general unlike your other forces who can supplement it or require/want different means of the usual these guys are classic. At the moment despite being an adviser who decided to strike out on your own and establish your own territory. Simple enough captured this keep and acquired troops to serve you. Problem is things are quite skewed there aren't exactly many here besides your troops and they may end up getting antsy with lack of...company. Potentially useful depending on how you wield it.Your family isn't exactly all that happened you decided to go this route they expected you to either return and help out the family or join up with some other force not strike out on your own as an adviser of all things. So it certainly caught people off guard but alas who cares about them once you graduated you pulled your strings, packed up, and then left.At the moment i am uncertain as to HOW you managed to acquire these troops of yours exactly. Fluff will be rewarded and Iam trying to figure out how to do introduction. Work in progress so until then make suggestions/ask questions whatever.
>>33492047Fluff eh? Let me think of something.
Rolled 80>>33492001I am fine i intend to use this thread to finish up the details. At the moment that is recruitment explanation(which gives you some interesting opportunities) I will try to help but sorta not exactly sure how you got these guys...Introduction.And I this will be your stat page now that everything is largely finished for it.>Turn 1>>>>>>A. >>33492047Alright. Foot men and snipers were troops we built up in our home town. We started to make our way to this untouched place and got lost. That's when we met the rangers who helped us out. They told us of ways to no piss of the forest people. We asked if they would be willing to help us to our detestation. They agreed for a price. Then as we made our way to the keep. That's when we saw the knights, Forever protecting the keep. We made a deal to help rebuild this place they call home and in turn they lets us live here. (They also wanted to have people to talk to. Begin alone for so long is no good to any one.) After some time of getting things up and running the rangers left for a bit. (The undead is not something they were use to.) When they were gone we got lay and cut the wrong part of the forest and that is when we met the dryads.

>>33492209The rangers coming back to see this. Well they were not happy and the dryads were about to bet us down. But then the adviser came up with a plan and made a deal with a Spirit (aka Genie). That we will fix our wrong doings if the dryads will show us way to fix this place up with our harming the forest. Dryads not liking more damage being done and seeing this as a chance to understand humans better agreed. The spirits stayed as a way of making sure the deal is being done and hell they had free time. That is if we give a little bit of faith here and there or offerings.
Rolled 57>>33492361hm...Genie card...Fuck. Fine.So thanks to your insight/identify ability you were able to acquire enough information as to turn the undead knights to your side.Your rangers, snipers, and footmen you acquired while you were basically growing up, going to school, ect. They came with you when you moved out.You encountered and successfully got the undead knights to join you.You had a run in with a Spirit known as Genie who made an interesting offer. Odd fellow but helps you out as long as you don't ask personnel questions and you were also smart enough to not ask about wishes.Dryad wise...hm.Encountered Dryads things would not have ended well but luckily for you the knights were away and you had the spirits along with the rangers with you. With a bit a work you were able to convince them to come with you thanks to one of them being an old childhood friend of yours. Sadly you were only able to take so many of them with you for obvious reasons and slowly added onto them.Bam.Details can be figured out later unless someone wishes to offer additional fluff? Now about that intro...any suggestions? Or writing must say I loved the anon who made up the one i have adopted with like the cultists much better then my original stuff.
>>33492494>>33492361>>33492209I'm writing my own fluff right now, hopefully we can come to compromise
>>33492521Cool.Also I hope we can make air ships later. They could be fun.
The Didrickson family, though neither ancient nor new, has a longstanding tradition of expert huntsmen and marksmen with few contenders, valuing accuracy, precision, and efficiency. Their ability to go behind enemy lines, scout out enemy forces and terrain, as well as perform excellent guerrilla and skirmisher tactics as highly mobile ranged forces, makes them a prized addition to any able bodied force and sought out as soldiers for hire. To the armored knights and swift cavalry, they can prove just as deadly, as what good will all the armor and swords and muscle in the world do if you cannot keep up with the enemy who constantly shoots at you and stays out of your range? Whom are as easy to hold down as an eel, and harder to find in the woods than a diamond in the sand? Maneuvering in highly skilled and small groups, a formidable formation can soon find themselves a pincushion of arrows and bolts. The Didrickson family have also taken a habit of churning out great advisors, who are able to sieve through the flood of messengers and gathered information to make good strategic and tactical advice to the many kings and barons and generals who hire their forces. One such advisor was Sir Richard Jeffery Didrickson the 5th. Taking with him some of the family rangers and expert crossbowmen, he gathered a force of his families hunters whom were loyal to him.He then used his familiar inheritance to purchase a decent force of footmen, and with this force, set out to make his way in the world, to find glory for himself or to expand the families honor? Only he knows. On their journeys to find themselves a place to call home, Richard came upon an odd spirit. Though there are many rumors all of conflicting nature, no one has deciphered why or for what intention this strange Djinn has decided to work with Richard, but few dare question why.
>>33492899Richard decided to go to one of the most war torn regions of the land, where surely such a place strife with war one who could tip the sides of battles with information could easily find employment. And as their rangers moved through the thick forests, avoiding the roads and their armies, they were not alone nor noticed.Dryads, creatures of the wood and realm, have long since been wary of the man races and interlopers of the forest. Used to seeing vast armies hack and burn down vast swaths of forests to trample roads of stone for wagons and machines of war, they were very surprised to see humans who did not do that. Instead they bobbed and weaved through the forest, leaving it intact, hiding their trail. Curious, they approached them and in due time were enamored by these rangers who knew how to live and survive in the forest like they did (to a degree, at least). With communications underway, it was all Richard could do to sway them to his side with the promise of gold, the metal which speaks to all races, even the dryads, but they would accept other payments than gold it was hoped.
>>33492920At last, they stumbled upon the ruins of a keep, a castle seemingly hidden and forgotten, but as they soon found out, not uninhabbited. Through means, not yet discovered, the ancient dwellers of this place still lived, and yet did not live. Knights who still guarded and protected their castle and its miraculous from ages past, not even death stopped them from safekeeping it. Years they fought backarmies who sought to take it, they prepared to fight these new invaders but were surprised when the usual start of battle was absent, and in it's place words and diplomacy which hitherto they had not experienced from the living. With the promise to help bring back life to their castle and keep it in their hands, not slay them to the last like many others, the Undead Knights agreed to work with this man who did not seem to care all to much for their living impairment. And so here it is you find perhaps, the most unlikely group of beings gathered under one roof. A small force who, in time and with wisdom, may yet be reckoned with.---And with that, I have to go to work. Darn
