Rolled 84Last time we built a magnificent temple upon the unhallowed grounds near/around the corrupted spring. There we sacrificed said spring along utterly curb stomped the very nasty hero genie totally didn't go through a ton of trouble to make awesome. When said hero went down quite pathetically as sacrifice our forces celebrated the opening of the majestic temple with a grand festival. Later on sadly comes the bad news that being when our forces were looking for materials accidentally pissed off a monster nest and zombie horde.also forbidden lore still needs to be figured out otherwise I am gonna choose and you may not like that or think it awesome.
Still suggesting Lore should be lore ought to be the secret of Bio-Nuclear power.Monsters, Zombies, Ghouls, and other factions serve to buffer the Jungle as much as they destroy it. As we continue to spill their blood and drive them out, the Jungle will need to be able to fill in the vacuum of their loss. We will need a jungle who can withstand chainsaws and fire as good as Monsters and as strong as them. Also we'd have all the power we need when we need it, could even sell some to the bandits.

Also does the Prophet have any idea what these rituals do, or is the limit of our knowledge on them their names and what is require for them?
Well, I like the idea of bionuclear power, but knowing about it doesn't mean we can reproduce it. I think knowledge of the world beneath our feet... wherever the roots of our plants go, we know what is there. I've heard so much about how the 'underdark' here is too dangerous to mess with, that seems like something worth knowing about.

Rolled 91Basic 1We found the holy grail of materials for several of our rituals (nat100) including jungle imbuing earlier, sadly, it was covered in monsters and zombies. We know that they are out for our blood, either each others or us.First, find ourselves a good jungly location we can segregate them and pick them off. A place where we could have our forestry skills shine, and where we can use the trees to our advantage. Their forces are vast, the monsters are strong, but alone or small groups we WILL slay them. Lay and ambush there, and prepare to spill much blood.Know that the more blood we spill and the more monster/zombie activity will come, so prepare to have multiple of such fallback points in case the fighting is too fierce and pick them off till we bleed them dry.Once the monsters and zombies have been sucessfully lured away from the resources and materials, grab anything and everything we can as well as as many corpses as we can and haul them back to base. This will be a good opportunity to test our Chosen Warriors and their "Special Potential". Let us see what they excell at, be it combat, stealth, coordinate, or what have you.---"Brothers, these monsters and zombies seek our blood. OUR GODS seek their blood."

While we did attempt to lure monsters into small groups or alone so as to ambush them...well turns out we severely underestimated the strength of the monsters. So when we attempted to fall back it turns out the zombies have caught on to what was going on and headed our way in mass. All the while monsters attempted to place ambushes on the paths our forces took on their way to the fallback points. Also they didn't hardly budge except for the monsters.Zombies still stood around dully all around the pile while monsters went after our forces. >>33320224Explosives have the unfortunate effect of being loud.
Alright, so we know how chainswarms work. One zombie yells to attract another, who attracts another, until we've got groups attracting groups and a whole heap of zombies coming our way.First and foremost we must stop and prevent the chainreaction. We're going to need a lot of good strong and brave warriors, some of our best, to go around through the forrest and get behind the swarm. We now know the monsters have a degree of intelligence to set up ambushes against our own forces, ill news, so be sure to keep in good touch with the Prophetess to avoid those by picking the right path.We also know that even with the jungle on our side and great bonuses we are not strong enough to take on a monster alone. At least, by ourselves. We'll need to be even more smarter about them and avoid them for now.Our warriors behind the zombie lines are going to need to start picking off zombies both in the hindmost of the swarm and preemtively killing zombies who might continue the chain through their noise. Once again, the Jungle is our shield and our strength, cut their heads off and slice their necks with a Mechette from behind a bush or above a branch before they have a chance to so much as yell a peep. Shoot them in the back of the head at point blank with a shotgun to muffle the noises.Prioritize your actions to those zombies with the most threat of spreading the chain. Flora and Jungle naturally buffers noise, so try to lure those zombies back into the forest (and not the ones where monsters are waiting in ambush).Witch Monika, if you could, make us a kind of brew or a spell of Silence to help us cut the chain by reducing or even hidering noise of the zombies, that'd be better.Alternatively if you, the Prophet, or any among our chosen have the ability to grow vines and plants quickly that'd be highly useful. Not only would we tied down the zombies and further dismember them, but the increase in plant life would dull or even stop the noise entirely.>con't
Rolled 68>>33320489At any time we CAN dull the noise we should. “Garbles, you still got those tarps?”When you see a group of zombies, leap down from the trees or high places and smother them in the Tarps to blind them and cut off their yells, and then take a machete and spill their blood so that the vines of the heart may aid us gods willing. Or if we have anyone or anyway to can control vines, we can drag them into the water and kill them there.---As for the swarm already approaching our base, lead them away from our base and into the jungles at all costs, no matter what. Bait them, lure them, use lure brew, lead them around and thin them out.“Remember brothers, the last time we fought zombies in the forest and blended away before they could struke back at us we beat them hard. We can and will do it again. Blood for our Gods.">>33320238"Prophetess, think you this is a good plan?"

We got lucky there.Meanwhile we were able to successfully attract the attention of the oncoming swarm leading them away from our base. Against all odds those we selected for this purpose made it out alive...or more precise the sole person who had the guts to go out and lure them away. Rolled 30Basic 1Last time we underestimated the strength and the intelligence of the monsters severely. Not only were they capable of defeating us even alone, they showed the intellect to ambush us in the very place we thought ourselves safe, the Jungle. This must not stand. WE are the ones favored by the Jungle, not they.I suggest, we have our Chosen Warriors and our best make probing attacks on the ambush sites. The Monsters are learning from us, we need to learn from them. Test what ways are effective at escaping and avoiding them, ways to trick them and how to watch out for their tricks. If we can learn of any weaknesses from them now that we are no longer underestimating them the better. The more we learn from them, the better we can fight them. Our chosen warriors need to see what their special potential is, if they were found in combat perhaps they can be refined in combat.

Rolled 58>>33322349>>33322462I swear right when I try to catch up crazy rolls stroll in.Well when our forces sent probing forces they found out the monsters had were still there and yet were not there. Turns out the bastards of some sort of underground warrens that allows them to travel around so easily including ambush positions they had previously established. As for how to escape one is best off going above. They don't seem to like using the ruins for their warrens their nests though are something else. To avoid one first identify their routes and avoid them. To trick them is to use their stuff against them.Really though the big problem is...there are many kinds of monsters. Some are stupid while others can be downright devious. Problem is...there are no guarantees it depends upon what you are fighting the type and breed of monster in question. There is no strategy that works for them all...except for what we have seen among two types of figures. Those known as the hunters and exterminators seem to know something about it.Problem is monsters are built for...smaller amounts while the exterminators deal much better in larger qualities. So really even for they there is nothing that works for everything they themselves found a specialization granted it works for many but not all.Chosen by the way acquired specialty...two specs that you have to decide upon. The M Hunter Spec or M Exterminator Spec. You can only choose one.

>>33323507I guess hunter fits our vibe a little better, on second thought, changing vote. We need to get them stealth armor, and imbue it with jungle.
Rolled 21>>33323528That's bullshit, Genie. We voted for that AGAIN last thread and it got substantial support.
>>33323544Don't doubt, there will come a time when we do plan to exteriminate these monsters in great numbers, but now while we are still small we must act accordingly and have an elite force. We don't want to start the purge just yet.
>>33323550Chill dude, it's a game, we are doing fine, don't try to rule lawyer against the guy who makes the rules :3
Rolled 74>>33323507I don't think it'd make them /exterminators/ as in the factions. Those guys are more of a faction archetype than some gained knowledge.Exterminators would only be good for our OH SHIT situations (which happen all too often, to be fair), we can use Hunters any time in small operations that won't rile up forces we're too weak to deal with.Basically unless we're planning on picking fights with monster hordes then we'll get more use from Hunters.
Rolled 35>>33323600We voted to upgrade our Jungle Control to have jungle empathy twice, and we're doing fine right now but soon we will not be. When our shitty, backed-into-a-corner time comes I want to make sure we fought tooth and nail for every bonus we could possibly have so we might get out alive.
Rolled 61>>33323550It was a no go even before last thread. The boon list it was attached to had time limit you know.Unless it was a different boon in which case moi bad.Looks like hunter spec is winning so very well then.
>>33323610True, but later on when we've established ourselves properly we will need to be able to clear out a bigger swath of monsters.>>33323528Hey Genie, do we make actions right now? Kinda want to get our hunters or exteriminators and use them on that material pile we found and fought so hard for.
>>33323650So naive....you will never get out alive
Rolled 92>>33323683You can make up now its just I also needed specs figured out.>>33323688The only ones who have the rights to say that are the vets from the Memor days.
>>33323747>>33323688Oh yeah, not him, but the stuff that you guys have seen killed civ? Memor lived through that type of shit every other day, it was a playerbased disaster that killed them.Granted, they did have armies and mobile forts and a vast majority of the allied faction of the jungle and some of Genies best heroes etc. etc.
>>33323747Well, we REALLY want those resources and we'd like to act against the monsters sitting on them once we have the specs of our specialists.
Rolled 86>>33323793Splicers and bloodsnow also had some kick ass heroes.Just to tell you though supah special heroic units I will admit are rare. At the moment I have only showed case like four of them.Dr. VolkClora'ZelCray CrayGeneral ViczarThere are a few others I have hinted at if not outright stated but you never actually had them under your control.heroes are special its the only reason why some seem to be better then others is based on the amount of story and power differences between them.My personnel favorites among them are that weren't under you control BT, Rizal, Jenny, Slag, Cloaker, and Shara. Those last two...heheheh. Some of my best to date pity I never got to show them off. Ah...>>33323893Well the spec is hunters beyond that I am waiting on you.
Rolled 85Did we ever set up regular shipments of food and water to the bandits? Because that should be a thing that we're doing.
>>33323978I'd prefer we start gaining in an excess of food and water, and then ship it off, at least when we make sure our production exceeds our consumption.
Rolled 54>>33323972Slag was under our control with the Memor though. Also, wasn't Skeller pretty supah special?
Rolled 58>>33323994Our stocks went from Low and Low after we paid the bandits up to Good and Average within one turn. I think we're doing pretty good.Although I'm unsure why water is only Average when we burned a boon to get a brand new underground spring and our water hovered around average before.
>>33324058That's where we bring our waterlords, after we get these resourcs in I want us to be swimming in the stuff.Alright, let's make a plan to kill those fucking monsters and get those resources once and for all.
Rolled 68>Basic 1Send our Hunters and some forces out to grab the materials in that monster nest while all the monsters are still out following that brave soul.
Rolled 91>>33324118The Nest might be pretty empty right now, seeing as the swarm originated there.Alternatively if we want to be more cautious we could scavenge for resources this turn, and then use them to pay the bandits to assist us in a smash+grab on the Nest next turn.We might or might not get more out of it the second way. Prophet, what do you see from these two action plans?
>>33324125>>33324211Actually I think it's the zombies who were lured away, the monsters are still around in the same number as before. Otherwise, how could we have probed their ambush positions?
Rolled 5Basic 1We want that holy grail of materials. We mean to ensure every single monster sitting on top of it is removed by any means.Accordingly, as the monsters us tunnels to get to their ambush positions, we will need to move through the trees and tall ruins.Next, we will need to bait them away. We can do this by having our hunters tactically activate their ambush locations in a strategic fashion, and then fleeing up and through the trees away from the ground and their tunnels, slowly drawing the monsters away by using their own methods against them until the Material position is clear for our forces to pillage EVERYTHING they possibly can.If possible, find ways to kill them while you are at it, hunters.Either we have cleared it out, or the situation changes to the worse, we pull out and again, avoid the places we now know they use. Prophetess Guide us, and gods be with us.In addition, there are zombie corpses everywhere, once we've snagged all the materials and resources we can try to grab some of those monster corpses and bring them to feed the Heart as well.
Rolled 82>>33324255I dunno, it's unclear. Also it'd be 'relatively empty' at best. This is where the Prophet's sight will be particularly useful. We should also ask Marlowe how he's feeling. We probably did the ritual of plant sense and ceremony of atonement on Marlowe (seeing as he was the only candidate), and it would pay to know what abilities he acquired.Especially since Genie isn't giving us Jungle Empathy like we voted on, so we need some other way to talk with the Jungle.
Rolled 56>>33324000Actually no something like Skeller isn't. There are others like he.And you didn't see all of what Slag was capable of he held back.>>33323972Ah crap can't believe I forgot Slag's Wife...for that here have a showcase for her.Ravager Queen Eesha Rocika TraitsGrandMastery RavageGrandmaster Looter Specialty Ravager MASTEREDBonus Raid specialty Lightning Free Bandit action Specialty Raid Sub-specialty RavageAuto LooterBonus SorceryMajor Bonus CommandAbilitiesPassivesCompletely RavagedQueen of the RavagersEx Northern Raider Head MistressCold Balled CollectorActivesSweetieNeuterWitch GiftPilfering StrikeSkirmishRaidRavageNorthern WindSlick LightningBlack IcedIs a taste, because heroes may have stuff that for whatever reason you don't know about. btw they all were like that even those who were 'honest'.

Rolled 79>>33324453>>33324308>>33324125Let's hold back until our Prophetess weighs in on this plan, it could go very poorly.

Thing is, it just affirms further what your players already knew: that we never want to fuck with her or her forces ever.

>>33324683Technically the third vote with roll, because above was voting for a combination action.
>>33324683*haven't seen Slag's wife that muchWas she a major character in the Memor campaign?
>>33324780Nah, she's only ever been hinted at and seen briefly in flashes involving Slag. The Tribals/Survivors almost got sold into slavery under her though.
Rolled 70>>33324683Hahahah no.You ain't getting Jenny's list nearly so easily anon.Kicker is though you actually have had people who could of given you parts of it or even the whole thing.PUWAHAHAH.>>33324308Troops dispatched to bait the monsters. the hunters work quite will killing a few until numbers get too much...which they did.Could of been worst though.Meanwhile the rest of our forces moved through the trees(hard) and ruins(harder). It wasn't fast going by any means, but somewhat safe thanks to the local zombies recently being cleared away.Only problem is...the monsters as in many of them never bothered leaving the nest. While others took the bait many seemed to stay put despite how tempting we made it look, but the ones who left luckily ended up staying that way.So our forces are unsure what to do.Now I am gonna get something to eat.

>>33324862We are SO CLOSE dammit, the freaking monsters I swear to the gods we'll bleed them all out one day.Alright, the way I see it we have relieved some of the pressure from the nest. If we can figure out a way to keep the most of them we've batied away to stay away, and pull out the hunters to help deal with the ones in the nest we'll have exactly the opening we need.
>>33324862>>33324889"Hey Bandit buddies, you help us hit this nest and get the materials out of it that we want and we'll enchant some of your guns and armor so that they're more powerful when you're around greenery and plants. We're in position for raiding it, but there's still quite a few beasts in there and we figure your expertise would let us get more out of a raid. Sound fair?"
>>33324958Ugh, we fought so damn hard to keep it all to ourselves but at this point sharing with our allies shouldn't be so bad.Better than fucking it up alone and then having no resources and dead people.
>>33324942We can either call in the bandits to keep them out, call in the bandits to help us out with the actual insertion/raid (which would be good because they're bandits and have badass raider units, so they'd pull more materials out than us alone), or call out some more of our military forces to keep the monsters currently lured out in check while our hunters circle back to assist in the raid on the Nest.
>>33325011Yeah, the deal should appeal to the bandits too. It's like the cooperative raids we had with the Outcasts, except these materials are going to be mostly unappealing to the bandits so we'll get to keep them.In a sense, instead of 'splitting the materials' in the way it'd normally be done we're 'splitting the materials' by using what materials we need to use to enchant their stuff afterwards. And it should be tempting to them, even if their home ground isn't particularly green, they come around this forest to operate often enough and they're looking for raid targets around here.

This time let the bandits take the brunt of the fighting, but pitch in where you can. The gods favor those who let the blood flow. Then, we grab the loot and split it with the bandits. Take everything and every corpse you can lay your hands on and pull out.
Rolled 18>>33325543Our hunters better come back with some nice monster skulls after this. Apart from that we're holding them an honorary feast or something, they deserve it.Don't forget to extract our hunters via air support if our bandit friends have it.Vote
>>33325543Voting.>>33325654Yeah, we need to treat our Chosen properly. Both because they are serving greatly and because that won't be the only Combat of the Gods we ever have. I think that we should use a Combat of the Gods whenever we want to sacrifice people for the boon of the jungle.
Rolled 22>>33325543"HEY WE AIN'T GONNA BE TAKING THE BRUNT OF DA FIGHTAN DIS IS YOUR GIG."
Rolled 32>>33325869Bandits are not amused as they are expecting to serve as support if you want them to be primary its gonna cost you a lot more.

Rolled 80>>33325901Our mistake.>Basic 1Hunters continue to bait and pick off monsters while running away from the larger groups to relieve the pressure, bandits can help with this if they can.Main forces surrounding the nest, expect heavy bandit support. We're going to try to hold the line around the materials ourselves, while the Bandits do what they do best (loot) and support our defenses in some capacity.Once all the loot is extracted or the place gets too hot we'll extract with the Bandits. If you guys wouldn't mind, pick our Hunters up with your aircraft when the time comes.Prophetess, how do you see this going?
Rolled 72>>33325980Finally done with work and this seems good.
>>33325980Dammit why us, US! They're the fighty paramilitary bandits. Do they really think we're better fighters than they are?We did most of the work to get here. . .
Rolled 22>>33325901>>33325869"On another note, we intend to start those regular shipments of food and water to you guys soon. Separate from that though, we hear you guys are looking for some good raid targets in our surrounding areas (and boy we bet you'll REALLY start looking once we imbue your gear) . If we happen across some promising targets, would it be possible to get some exchange for that information?>>33326042We're not better fighters, though this particular situation DOES cater to our strengths (unbreakable morale). It also plays to their strengths because they're BANDITS and they're going to be looting/stealing shit during a firefight.Eventually we'll get to where we've given them enough advantageous deals that they'll start to actually like us and do things for free. We're still in the trust-building stage right now though.

>>33326165>>33326218"Consider it a gift, but if you must know our gods are pleased with blood and body and bone.I have a way that could suit all our needs. Rolled 10>>33326441"Brother, the gods DO care for who's blood is spilt. Why else would our Gods work themselves into such a frenzy whenever we give from ourselves?"No problem with holding regular slave fights, but really the Gods WILL respect and expect more powerful offerings. It was terrible especially for our bandit allies who discovered the wretched truth the hard way when they were about to tear stuff apart to loot revealing them.Bandits did their best to withdrawal with an organized retreat covering their forces with suppressing fire alas the terrain wasn't exactly for them so they set up kill zones with turrets and withdrew running like hell the entire time. They did try to hold out for our guys so while they DID grab a number of our forces they didn't exactly stick around for too long.>>33327252Super Soldier went to confirm whether he was dead or not. He has yet to return with news of it though. Thing is though even he doubted it and he was in direct pursuit.>>33327390When the hell was that ever a motif?

Rolled 73>>33327418You know what the worst fucking part about this is?It was completely un-fucking-necessary. The action was already voted for and had decent rolls for it, all we had to do was fucking wait for Genie to write that shit up.
>>33327418>When the hell was that ever a motif?Vass?Warlord Slag? The outcasts who killed Grow Crop? Those other bandits who V101 asked for shelter but ended up activating some stuff.A number of other people we've indadvertantly pissed off in the past
>>33327458yep, though sometimes in the past stuff has been clearly voted on and Genie would still ask "what's consensus"
Rolled 79>>33327440>F. Explore in a direction/something.Look for resources and Materials we can get that isn't a death trap. Once we have some again I stay we do a round of training for fighting zombies and go at it again.
Rolled 78>>33327458If anything at least now we're finally dealing with the stuff that lurks under us before it gets to powerful to overwhelm us. If we survive and deal with this, we can feel safe for a long time. This is our Fall Relic, our Heart of the Brood, and our Mt. Smokey monsternest. We see it now.>>33327494Vote
Rolled 87>>33327494Go at it again? We've tried to go at it twice and gotten our asses handed to us both times. Just leave it be already.
Rolled 82>>33327530This isn't even the stuff that's under us, this is the tip of the iceberg's veneer.
>>33327531We've spent too much effort, to many manpower, to give up and the prize is right in front of us.Plus, we can't just well let an endless horde of zombies so close just sit there forever.Maybe not now, maybe not for a few threads, but we will eventually have to deal with this.
>>33327531Have faith this boon was found here for a reason bother, let us not give up hope.
>>33327563Then get your pickaxe ready anon. We have a long way to go and we're going to have to start sometime. We've been killed by the underground so many times, let's see if just one civ we can reverse that.
Rolled 89>>33327579Too late, this brother thinks the Gods have shown us that we're not equipped to deal with this right now.
Rolled 10>>33327430...I don't follow and to be fair Vass WAS a reaver. Warlord Slag was never actually against you ICC.Outcasts weren't fucking heroes. Those bandits were wanting to loot your fucking vault.>>33327600The dice gods may in fact be onto something...is possible they KNOW?
>>33327600Obviously not right now. But soon. In any event, we need resources.
Rolled 11>>33327598There are reasons why we're afraid of the dark, anon.
>>33327600Well yeah that is way we train our skills and test our faith. So we may grow and show the gods we are worth their time and gifts. For if we can't do this why should they give more to us later.
>>33327646And it is overcoming fear that we achieve strength, and succumbing to it that we falter.Remember the words of Genie:>Every successful civ had one thing in common the plans they used that lead to greatness required big balls.>Because the dice pool rewards such things the most.>My SYSTEM rewards such things the most.>My SETTING rewards such things the most.We beat the zombies twice now, despite overwhelming numbers on their part. We did it before, we can do it again. Just not now and not for a while.>The potential losses don't mean shit compared to what happens if you have some success with a plan requiring balls. This civ is suppose to be a test of that. If we fail then I guess we really are better off going back to being careful as fuck.
Rolled 83>>33327731Bah, fine. If we're going to do this then we're going to do it right though. We'll get resources, imbue our weapons and armor, then we're holding another Combat of the Gods and coming at this fuckers with jungle-empowered arms/armor AND with the fury of the trees at our backs. Then we'll still split some of the loot to the bandits, or at least enchant their weapons because they were kind enough not to blame this failure on us.>>33327494Vote.
>>33327731We have accomplished some amazing things in the past 2 civs using this method, but the first civ died in thread two and this is barely past thread 3.I guess the really question is does it really give us longevity? We know that being careful normally did.
Rolled 42>>33327809Splitting loot/enchanting their weapons also shows to the bandits that helping us is no-risk. They'll get their fair share no matter what.
Rolled 4>>33327646I love the fact I was REALLY able to really reaffirm that. Especially considering thanks to turns I can't really show how bad night time can be but underground...its always dark.>>33327809They actually don't blame you for the failure that happened in fact they even refused payment. Granted while they were flying out we DID note them throwing people off including our own because they were 'infected'. Apparently it was quite chaotic and vicious as they forcefully stripped everyone and threw whoever was suspicious off.Hardcore but effective they prevented an outbreak in such tight quarters.
>>33327996Nobody doubts the underground is scary Genie. There never was a time since Memor to here we didn't.But we are trying to get over being crippled by it, too many times we left it alone for too long and it overwhelmed us. I'd like to actually follow your advice and try deal with it before that happens.
Rolled 43>tfw this time we will wait until time ends before adding another roll onto that action.
Rolled 84>>33328212No one is around anymore anon...I think anons wised up figuring it best to vanish on the Genie's birthday due to Genie's shitty life afraid that it will eventually spill over.

Mostly because I am one of those people who are highly incenvitzed when offered money.Thankfully I have an actual group now for playing tabletop so having my hobby morph wont be too painful for me.Question is conversion and playtesting.I have for the most part the the framework done just got some kinks to work out regarding population mechanics...then well. That is when things get interesting as the next step is framework which isn't nearly so easily(fucking unit types and shit like lists of heroic archtypes and abilitie/trait lists its gonna suck so much ass).So far i have been able to use /tg/ for basic crude playtesting but eventually I need for detailed stuff especially once things get advanced enough. At the moment i have two modes for tabletop. All players either share a civ playing a special unit and or hero who grant a bonus action.OReach player gets their own civ to command.
Rolled 51>>33328719It's really more of a "Hey Ede, thanks for letting us have all this fun and pain for so long. You just have to make some serious changes but it can actually work.>>33328647>>33328719Uhm...fuck.Which...which time frame as selected again?>>33328779I will grant options for both and leave it up to the gm and potential playtests. Its just that those are the two formats I figured could work.Problem is though I may have to change around the dice pool mechanic a bit.>>33328785If it does I will. Sadly I is no mathematician or even a writefag.Cold hard truth is I am naught but a write fag who learned the hard way the horrors that is a circle jerk.So...there is only so much I can do by myself. Rolled 21>>33328821Yeah, you really underestimate how much you enrapture your players, Genie.
>>33328849>In fact one could argue I lost popularity based on upvotes. That's because nobody really cares about suptgvotes anyways. >>33328954No clue things that stop me are work and that has been it. I need me some stable days to keep things up.
Rolled 67>>33329042Posting it right before the thread derails is just a paranoia measure though, that way only the veteran players who stick it out and read the archives will know where to find it/what it is.

>>33329080>>33329042A steam account is a lot safer and easier.

>>33329143No, though you can share emails and conversations through steam a lot safer.
Rolled 60>>33329169Aah, I see. Yeah, that's actually much better and a lot safer. Do that, Genie.
Rolled 44>>33329181Does one have to purchase a steam game to make a steam account though?
Rolled 16>>33328975Problem is anon I grant them two of those three.Yet still they breakdown.Do you have ANY IDEA HOW MUCH I WANNA PLAY A POST APOC CIV AS A PLAYER.Well...guess what?According to dice you get a heroic unit...and not just any lousy hero either.Oh no you get the offspring between the union of Slag and Eesha.so...well......problem is said offspring would be considered a 'born bandit'. Your not playing bandits...Not to mention they do have quite the selection of children granted a number died or worse.the official ones that i have stuff down for are.a child who was sold by her very own mother(yeah...) to a witch coven.Raider who took up mother's abandoned legacy in the cold north.Ravager who many belief to be her groomed replacement. Leads her old personnel ravager pack.Warlord who suffers Daddy issues ended up becoming a notor-oh.okay.uh.Ahem.I has it nows.>>33329096I do have one of those but due to immensely shitty laptop i don't really use it anymore also being poor as shit.>>33329181The email I have for it is actually a new one I created specifically for future Genie operations.

Rolled 33>>33329373Eh okay maybe that is bit too hi-tech and out there for me.In my setting that would ended up creating black holes in all likelyhood unless (MAD) Science! was involved.I wont deny however there being blackhole guns...or anti matter blasters.Hell I will even admit there are actual facilities devoted to mass producing anti matter.Admittedly many of those places are either gigantic craters or blown to bits but still.
Rolled 45>>33329312Don't forget that Warlord turned out to be one of our prisoners who was watching us before the invasion ever even began.
>>33329408It was partly a fantasy civ though, so what they thought "would throw the stars themselves" might've just been little balls of plasma or something. It was cool anyway so that's what's important>>33329411Shit, I forgot about you. You were one of the controlled player officers who did the side actions.
Rolled 35>>33329408Fantasy setting, Genie. Magic, so they ain't gotta explain shit. Did you miss the part about Dark Elves?
Rolled 17>>33329408Didn't think I would did this, But why not. Yes they had a hero unit help with it and a mass of boon to future tech. But what they fired are shells that held plasma and magic infused. So long story short they turned a battery into a bomb.
Rolled 84>>33329411Ohh how it burns us.Now I am even more butthurt...sounds like that game is much more out there then mine.I at least commit to the facade of it being somewhat reasonable.Of course the 'unreasonable' I just put under something like 'Mad', 'super', 'magic', or 'psi'.which are optional rules and i keep limited.Mad stuff is oft considered tier 5 BLACK aka REDACTED and for good reason.>>33328695It went average as to be expected. Even in my setting plasma weaponry is some of the hardest hitting shit in existence sadly it tends to be a gigantic energy hog and range is shit. Its raw power however is hard to say no to especially considering how little there is that can shrug it off.hm tempted to share how plasma tech works in my setting and its evolution...
Rolled 38>>33329555Not to mention being an utter bitch to store which really hampered its usage for range and anywhere but mighty space vessels who could afford to wield it.Eventually a breakthrough was made...a huge breakthrough bringing plasma tech to usable planetary level. >>33329610It seems me poking my head out for a sec killed you thread, Sorry about that Genie. Well ether way it is a bit late so take it easy and happy late birth day.

>>33329848Publish it, I'd buy it.Nightall.
Bump. Might I suggest we focus on plant empathy, we will need it now more than ever.
Okay, here's what I think we need to accomplish in the next few turns.1. Perform the Ritual of Jungle Empathy/Find the Materials for it - Now more than ever we must not leave our faith in the Jungle to doubt, our every efforts to strengthen must ensure it won't turn on us when we need it most.We will need it to gain more resources2. In addition we'll need to strengthen our plant sense so we won't be ambushed in the jungle and always have a safe escape route3. Increasing our plant manipulation and plant growth, possibly through magic. The tall trees and ruins are the only way so far to avoid the ground and the monster warrens and zombies. We'll need to be able to manipulate vines to sprout up when and were we need it to easily reach those places. I had hoped the Heart of the Jungle would've spread out long enough by now.>We need our plant allies to act like our alliesIn addition we shall need it to segregate our foes, to divide and conquer. We cannot allow another chain swarm to happen4. Set to increasing the amount of carniviorous plants, especially underground (and of course, ensuring they don't attack us). If we can thin out the horde slowly over time without having to engage in combat, we should.
>>33333412To deal with the mass of Zombies, I also suggest another project: The Mouth of the JungleIt will be of the first of /several/ such places, connected via plantbloodstream to the Heart. As you all know, in the past two fights we have been effective at fighting the zombies using the Jungle to our advantage. The chain swarm was broken by one leading a large mass of them into the Jungle, where presumably they were either killed or led away.We shall create, after ensuring ourselves won't be eaten, a large massive garden of vicious carniverous plants and gaping biting maw pits with teeth on the floor. These places, with the right rituals, us and our allies can walk through freely while zombies, even monsters, are grabbed and ripped to pieces. With each we feed it, the heart is fed, and in turn the mouth grows wider. Able to eat more.
>>33333412>>33333635I'm all for these, but you expect us to do it within the next few turns?
>>33336156Because the actual actions we would take would be:>(Possibly look for the proper materials for the Jungle Empathy ritual)>Perform the Ritual of Jungle Empathy, to see what the jungle wants exactly(These being said, I'm going to explain to Genie exactly how his pop system should work so we might get Empathy as a bonus without needing this)(We also need to be careful, we have resources and food and water right now so we're an attractive raiding target, if we IMMEDIATELY imbue our weapons and armor with Jungle Power then it'll help if raiders come. If we do the paramilitary bandits' stuff afterwards then raiders are even less likely to pick a fight with us)>Research into the ritual of plant sense so that our forces (or just Marlow) can see/feel through the plants [this will take who knows how many turns]>Research into improving our plant manipulation [this will take who knows how many turns]>Getting resources as necessary to continue these research projects, at least our cult compound offers a bonus to this sort of research>Find carnivorous plants, including ones that like the underground>Cultivate groves of these carnivorous plants for a very long time using a lot of resources. It'd probably be worth it in the end though.(If we're going to cultivate groves of carnivorous plants, we'll also want to do so around our base to add to our defenses)
>>33336334This anon here has the right idea.
>>33336334We may also benefit from some biological efforts of Ron the Scientist, so perhaps after we finish up Empathy and improved Plant Sense we'll build him a laboratory or better yet since he is one of the Water Lords, a Hydroponics or greenhouse facility. In fact the other waterlords would likely be of great help to him in that.
>>33336334I wonder if, with research, we could incorporate the Ritual of Plant Sense in with the Ritual of Jungle Blessing. Apparently a person has to have special qualities to be a candidate, but given research we might be able to have people wearing blessed armor get weird feels whenever the jungle detects threats nearby. Also, now that I think of it more we would definitely need to perform some rituals on carnivorous plant defenses to make sure they don't eat out bandit allies whenever they come around. We wouldn't want to feed them ourselves though (except in dire straits) because if we did then they wouldn't be as vicious whenever an actual enemy attacked. Also if we're going to cultivate carnivorous plants we're going to need a chicken coop or something, some way to farm meat.
Rolled 77Just want to add we will need a clean room to keep the plants pollen from hinting every if we mess up. Other wise it will go every where and take over, if it's a stronger plant.
Rolled 45>>33336868Bug farms are way cheaper to maintain.
>>33336977Of course, we'll need a secure research facility.>>33337005Symbiotic bugs of course. I think any sort of monster that aids in plant growth should be spared.I wonder what is behind the "Forbidden Door"
>>33337072I took that to mean that our compound gate was enchanted.Though now that you mention it, it probably is something that we should ask about. We all know how Genie likes to give us awesome things and then not explain them.Oh, by the way, I think that we're in the Grow Corp Civ's jungle area. Or nearby it anyway.
>>33337142Gods help us if it turns out we're in the Mueke, but we would've encountered the Sa'al well by now.
>>33337142Meaning that if we find some slavers they might have some slaves that happen to know a lot about turning plants into resources. Some grow personel would make a great addition to the cult
>>33337238I would be surprised if there weren't at least a few Grow Corp Branches who did end up following some sort of plant cult. Maybe not us, but many others.
>>33337205I was looking through my notes, and you remember those 20 refugees 'blessed by the jungle'? They brought word of strange zombies that emit spores when they die, and others that guard strange plants.20 refugees blessed by the jungle. Bringing word of those particular type of zombies. And Genie cursed a bit upthread about us "Choosing the same time period".Just something to look into. Even if it Grow's tower IS around and reachable...it turned into some sort of giant plant when that civ died, so it probably wouldn't have much salvageable anyway. Then again, the plants obey our will.
>>33337273I'm going to come out and say it, I want growbots
Hey, now that we have ritual knowledge we should know exactly what the Ritual of Plant Sense (and possible the Ceremony of Atonement) did. We should ask about that next thread, or this one if Genie comes around soon enough.
>>33337310Then keep working on your bandito bot fluff.
>>33337310Then we'll need to get Ron his lab soon. Everything in due time though. On that glorious day we manage to triumph over the Zombie mass and reach our resource Holy Grail, anything we wish will be at our disposal.Be it to make a behemoth, or Plant-Borgs monsters. It's just a matter of staying brave, faithful, but above all, smart.
>>33337282The only plant from grow i would want to talk to is currently flying around with great train in the sky and it's band of merry rapists.
By the way, I forgot to ask but did we lose our 10 original Chosen Monster Hunters? We shouldn't leave them like we did those other splicers we left behind. At least confirm their deaths, and if possible retrieve their bodies and give them an honorable end as a gift to the Heart.
>>33337385Their tower became a plant, or are you too thick to get that?>>33337362I'm not sure where you think we're good at science, or where you think we're going to get scientific equipment and facilities from. I rather like playing as blood-obsessed cultists and playing with magic anyway.
>>33337422It wasn't stated that they died, and hopefully Genie would state if a force like them died.
>>33337385Next civ we should do an offshoot of the bloodsnow, a bandit/cult to the rape train. So obvious, we should have done it sooner. Rape train is our greatest ally, also let's give madness another go..
>>33337282Sadly I am not exactly sure where previous civs fit time frame wise puts me a in weird limbo.Memory Lane is basically SPHESS edition.Green Growth is when its been long enough things have largely recovered but that also means a lot of stuff has been tapped out big time even the hard to reach stuff. On the plus side big time threats have also largely died down.Chaos is around the Fall lots of risk but lots of reward but just as its name states it truly is utter chaos.Blight is after chaos where things have calmed down...slowly decaying among the hulks of the old. Risky but still most rewarding.Darkest Hour is after blight and before Green Growth. Its referred as such because most stuff has been tapped out while the threats are still managing to hang on. Its basically NIGHTMARE mode due to lots of danger and little reward. Not exactly sure where Pre Timeline civs fit into things.
>>33337498Hey, so our Ritual Knowledge let's us know exactly what the Ritual of Plant Sense and Ceremony of Atonement did the Marlow, right?
>>33337498Could use suggestions.I am torn between blight, darkest hour, and green growth the most though.>>33337549Ritual knowledge...if you have the information on the rituals then you have the know to to decipher them including what they do and the risks involved so yes.btw the jungle who adore so much?Doesn't share the same feelings.AND your powers only really work for a jungle that is 'yours'.The current one is not.As for what it did atonement basically made you pay a price for forgiveness very powerful ritual but very costly.Plant sense merely enables one to sense things...in strange ways. Most useful for identifying with plants and their views as well as how they look at things(which is very alien).
>>33337703Why do you even let us take bonuses when they're not going to do anything?
>>33337785I mean, you wonder why your civs die so often and so fast, but then you let us take a ton of bonuses related to the jungle...that don't have an effect because it's not 'our' jungle or something like that.
>>33337703How is this not "our jungle" we defended it from corruption, we have lived here for god knows how long.Is there a ritual of ownership or can we pledge fealty to the jungle?
>>33337802Don't get me wrong, I'm a player and I didn't have a hand in creating this civ so if it dies it's a disappointment and it dies...but with the amount of work you put into every place that we play it just seems odd for you to let us make such an obvious and deadly mistake.
>>33337916That's kinda what I like about it, we are just 200 some odd dudes, if we don't think of what to do, or use what we have it's because our dudes, and by extension us, are incompetent. Just like real life.
>>33337960Discovery is part of what makes it fun, but not bullshit discovery like "Your powers all do jackshit because this jungle isn't 'yours'."
>>33338039Maybe we have to earn the right to call the jungle ours, we haven't done much to get the jungle on our side or anything...
>>33337426Why not Magi-Science anon?
>>33337785because i figured you would of chosen a bonus or something that tied it all together.>>33337802What are rituals for?>>33337876It needs to be 'yours' in order to take full advantage of your powers.>>33338039Your abilities do have affect just to a lesser degree. For full affect you must make the jungle 'yours'. I figured you would of done forbidden lore One Jungle or something.>>33338149Not knowing this the 'excuse' for why your abilities haven't been quite up to snuff as you would expect.
Rolled 11>>33338367** Dialogue Request **"Prophetess, do we have the necessary materials and subjects to perform the Jungle Empathy again? What is the differences between "our" and "not our" jungle?"
Rolled 76>>33338039I for one look forward to making this Jungle ours and only ours, in due time.if there is anything to be said about Genie's civ, it's the challenges. Sometimes they feel likehorseshit and sometimes I agreeothers they provide a very rewarding experience, but they are there. That is one of the things separates his quest from others I'd say.
Rolled 74Oh darnit, I just saw we're past the 300 mark sometime ago. Oh well, we could squeeze some turns in today or wait until tuesday.Speaking of which guys, we've been minimally stealing souls to empower our magics and we ought to get about using our lore's we chose to the best of our abilities. Next time we get slaves to fight, we'll remember to steal the souls of the ones who are defeated first and then throw the empty body.
>>33338367We DID choose Jungle Empathy, TWICE.
>>33338439"You have to either make the jungle yours or create your own for maximum benefit.">>33338606So you know how the jungle feels. It wishes to spread and survive.
Rolled 29>>33338647"Prophetess, do you mean that makng the Jungle "ours" would maximize the effects of the ritual of Jungle Empathy? So we have the necessary materials and subjects to perform the Jungle Empathy again? What is the differences between "our" and "not our" jungle?">Hopefully those last two will be answered this time
>>33338709"The difference is a matter of possession and acceptance. If you possess the jungle the power will reach its its full potential."
Rolled 55>>33338751"Ah, very well.So if we were to properly1. Mark this jungle as our Possession 2. earn its acceptance, whatever that would requireThis Jungle would be "ours" and it would be empathetic and sympathetic ally, telling us what it wants and how we can help it?"
Rolled 96>>33338751>basic: grow our own damned jungle fully equipped with water slides and a laser light rock show. sorry for destroying the civ
Rolled 31>>33338835>>33338751** Dialogue **I want to delve into the exact steps we need to perform to gain the same favor and adoration we give to it, so I can set up an action plan we could follow.
Rolled 79So who's up for opening the forbidden door and let our jungle god free? ... Do admit it would be nice to make friends with the jungle. But got to find out what it wants other than gardening, water and food. Probably the removal of the zombie spores.
Rolled 38>>33338939In due time, if we stand, we shall see our god.The Bloodsnows required mass worship of Rape to summon their god, we'll require something a bit different. We already have the Heart of the Jungle.Soon we will work on the Jaws of the Jungles. With hard work and patience, we shall then make the Eye of the Junglethe Mind of the Junglethe Body of the Junglethe Soul of the Jungleand then bind it all together, with the very first heartbeat of the avatar of our god.
Rolled 59>>33339006Soon the end of and age will be apron is. We the true believers will soon be apart of this day. As the blood and souls of our gods' enemies fall. They will be closer to this worlds door. Prophet be praised.
Rolled 66>>33339182(Wow thought I fix the errors dam phone texting.) an age* apron us*
>>33339214The day will be a prawn us
>>33338751>>33338751>>33338751"That doesn't mean it will like you though. Basically you must either 'acquire' this jungle or start your own.">>33338900Dice gods approve which I don't no.>>33338909"That I do not know. I sense the presence though...of something that could start our own or deeper in we might have better lucking communing with the current one."
Rolled 93>>33339410"Will "aquiring' this Jungle and catering to it ensure it likes us?"
>>33339410... I know it would waste resources to do both. But maybe we grab the baby jungle and then go deeper to see what waits for us.
>>33339788Maybe we can summon a certain train god to come and forcibly impregnate the jungle. Then we raise the product of twisted steel and jungle as our own, never sharing the horrible secret.
