>>32549509... hm. Undead-Elfs / Forest
>>32549509Skaven in swamp.Pretty please!
>>32549554>>32549616>>32549633Alright, that's 1 vote for each one of those. Anyone else care to vote, or change their decision? The sooner we reach a consensus, the sooner we can begin in proper.
>>32549668Undead elvs, forrest
>>32549668I'd go with undead in forest, I guess.
>>32549686>>32549732>>32549750Alright then, intro coming right up.
>>32549668Undead elfs inna woods
>>32549668Undead elves in the forest because arming them with axes and wooden armor sounds cool and cheap, plus manpower for building the area, elves would have to be nearby or allied for growth though
>>32549792What are the specifications of an undead elf anyway? Why not just regular undead? Elves are gay.
>>32549829Elves are better at ranged and magic, both of which would be very good for the undead, than humans who are technology and diplomacy (the last of which is probably useless to us)
>>32549829Elves are in fact not gay, writers just suck in modern times(unfortunatly for all the awesome that is Tolkien he started the sue elves)
>>32549829>>32549852That's not to say we can't always convert some humans we kill if we find any
>>32549829I was thinking we could be the ghost of elves that died as their town was burned. We came back to hunt down our attackers. Or maybe we could be an experiment from one of the druids going down the path of the dark arts.
>>32549871Well yeah, but i liked that it was specified elves rather than just generic undead, numbers are numbers
>>32549871>>32549852Starting with a hybrid and picking whichever abilities we find most usefull sounds a bit too easy to me though.
>>32549888Fk this is cool, spirits of the dead bound into their bodies once more rather than a mindless horde under a crazy dude
You were dead. You remember dying. They attacked in the dead of night, taking your village completely by surprise. Your small tribe fought to the last elf against a raiding party of vicious satyrs, and you remember turning to defend your friends when a blade impaled you through your chest. The last sight you remember seeing with your mortal eyes was the village priest, Maltheon, praying on his knees, desperately invoking some ancient deity when all seemed lost. And then, darkness. But your eyes have opened again, and now you are awake. Maltheon made a pact with some dark force that annihilated the satyrs and then raised you all into undeath. You have all been given a second chance at life, along with a new purpose, whatever it may be … but at what cost?Your village is located about some ancient ruins deep within the forest. You number at about 40, all raised into undeath except Maltheon, who is not quite living or undead, but something else ...What shall we do first?
>>32549920Seek Maltheon for guidance, and give praise to our patron god.
>>32549892id figured the leader was the only one good at magic/ranged, and perhaps training more, going off the druid theory it could easily be a druid trying to rebuild his people that where killed and have thus lost much of who they are and where.
>>32549920Give thanks and explore for what remains here. Weapons, armor and etc.
>>32549920Have Maltheon teach magic to a third of the undead. Have one third scavenge the ruins and the dead satyrs, and have the last third scout the area.
>>32549920Defenses, we need them more than food, what if these dicks have friends, then start raising them
>>32549920Search the Satyrs bodies. Make sure more aren't coming.
>>32549951>>32549969Oh yeah, we should see what happens if we raise our enemies. If the Satyr's come back still trying to kil us, that clears things up a bit
>>32549920>>32549945lol this was a hilarious post while i was still typing mine
>>32549999Raise 2, if we raise one they might freak out, raise two and they have a buddy
>>32549951>>32549969>>32549999>>32550030Perhaps I should have clarified, the Satyrs were reduced to ash following Maltheon's invocation. We shall have to find others on which to practice our dark crafts.>>32549936Maltheon is currently meditating, communing with our new patron, whoever it may be. >Give me some ideas for what you want our patron to be like, guys>>32549967>>32549949You gather your weapons and armor, some damaged from the attack, and start to rebuild your small village. While we want not for food now, some more raw materials for our equipment and village would be nice.>Perhaps we should scout around?
>>32550099Scout away! And let's leave Maltheon to his meditating. Guy must be tired.
>>32550099A bit random, But has a darker goal in mind.>Scout Hopefully someone is still alive to question.
>>32550099Half scout half cut down trees for lumber for defenses
>>32550099>Give me some ideas for what you want our patron to be like, guysIena - Godess of Eternal LifeThose who worship Iena believe that the key to Eternal life is the halting of the bodily processes that cause age. Even the ageless elves, immortal and fair, come to a time when after so many millenia their hairs grow white and their skin wrinkles or they simply fade away altogether. Both more often, as evident by our town and the satyr's, they die from war or are subject to brutal injury, imagine a life of a thousand years having lost your limbs. Those who follow Iena believe that the key to true immortality is through Necromancy, to kill a being in their prime and raise them up so that they live in their primal glory and pinnacle forever, than rot away to age or disease. Those who are "blessed" by Iena find that injuries which would have killed them can be simply shrugged off, an arm reatached, a severed head kept safe and alive until the body is found (and it always seems to know where it is), even an eye which has been crushed to pulp can be gathered from the earth and placed back in the socket to grow anew.No longer need to fear starvation, or death by bloodloss, or extreme pain. Those who are blessed find their diseases cured, their pain gone, even those born with no arms and limbs can be reattached with new ones. the only thing her followers have to fear is an injury to the brain or magic. Even then, those who are truly truly empowered by her magic can survived the destruction of their brian.Unlike other deities of death, Iena does NOT seek to convert or extinguish all life. In fact, the true perfection is a world where every living being grows to adulthood, sires new airs, and then in their prime having contributed their seed to the world are blessed with eternal life and eternal youth fearing not hunger, or disease, or pain, or death. Her Dream is to create a world without death, or as little of death as there can be.
>>32550129>>32550160>>32550210Your scouting party explores the immediate area - your are surrounded by forest on all sides. To the west of the village lies a small river that cuts through the forest, running from north to south. To the north are where wild deer make their home. You remember hunting them for food, once ... already, the memories of your past life seem distant, like a old dream. The world now seems dimmer, as if everything were a bit more grey. But it matters not. More importantly, your scouts report satyr tracks leaving from the village somewhere to the south-east.Your laborers have gathered a moderate supply of wood from some of the larger trees directly south, with which you may do as you please. What next?
>>32550321Send a group to the south/east path. Lets see what we find.
>>32550286this, it sounds to me like shes related to the earth, with the ability to turn enemies to dust(not incineration, think like weathering, keepig with the earth theme)
>>32550367Fk forgot to add a bit about using the earth to heal people
>>32550286So... we aren't following an evil god?
>>32550321Don't follow the trails yet. If Maltheon is finished, have him teach magic to undead. Else, increase our numbers. Also, have a small search party follow the river downstream. Civilization sprouts around rivers. There's bound to be a village out there.
>>32550321Fix up the village then fortify it, Or just fortify it? Other do something else?
>>32550286>>32550324>>32550367>>32550382So, I take it we're all in agreement about this then?
>>32550433Who says necromancy has to be inherently evil
>>32550433nope, willing necromancy
>>32550470Alright then!Maltheon has awakened from his communion with our new Goddess, Iena of the Eternal Life. We are to be Her disciples and mission Her word throughout the land and bring immortality in our wake!>I like this, lots of potential here. It's either noblebright or grimdark, depending on your point of view.>>32550450>>32550441>>32550351We take the lumber and fix our dwellings, with enough left over to build some rudimentary palisades around the perimeter. We are in disagreement on whether or not to follow the trail, so further deliberation is needed. Finally, one of the more curious undead elves sees a patch of noonday sunlight breaking through the thick canopy of the forest. He decides to step into it. What happens?>Roll 1d100 for faovred result
>>32550584Good roll, but what do you want to happen?>Also, sorry for the kinda slow pace, I'll try and speed it up
>>32550563he sparkles*murder old self* his skin gnarls and hardens, though he still moves
>>32550627This was a troll post damnit(just realized didnt want to troll
Rolled 96>>32550619I wanted chimichangas. but ... Lets get some magical cloaks that will make it easier for us to move among the living.
>>32550677Okay, cloaks sound cool.... BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE ELF STEPS INTO THE SUNLIGHT?
>>32550677wait like we go into sunlight and darkness clings to us?
>>32550704going to be fun convincing people we arent evil if thats the case
Rolled 78>>32550704Lets go with this. Sorry. As they step out the darkness and earth wraps around to make a shell to hide our true selves. We blend into the back ground ready for the world of light.
>>32550760HOLY FK INSTANT ARMOR JUST ADD SUNLIGHT!
>>32550812>>walk up to a city in the middle of the day>>noone notices us cause we shadows>>HEY GUYS WANNA TRADE>>city shits pants and thinks its under attack by golums
>>32550704>>32550760>>32550812Iena has certainly blessed us, for when the elf steps into the light, the earth itself envelops him in a protective coat of earth and bark. Through concentration, he finds that the armor can be worn when not in sunlight, though if not in sunlight for too long, it will begin to dissipate back into the earth. Our new armored troops will be called Dryads. Iena is with us.What next? >FUCKING AWESOME IDEA WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THIS
Rolled 51>>32550878We must fine the camp of our attackers. They must pay for what they did.>With this blessing scout for the enemy's camp and near by people.
>>32550878find a way to bottle up, store, or put in a gem sunlight, we need it for fighting.
>>32550933find the camp*
>>32550941This is a good idea
>>32550993perhaps tattoos that hold it in till the warrior calls on it?
>>32551019Could always try biology, maybe some variant of photosynthesis
>>32551019>>32550993>>32550941Such arcane agicks could possibly be done by Maltheon, but it would take time to study. Shall we launch the attack now and bring Maltheon with us into the battle, go without him, or simply wait?
>>32551059Wait, Study them and then with light gems attack.
>>32551059Have maltheon in the back using his abilities on anyone that makes it through, so we can see what he can do without risking him, unless he also gets the armor
>>32551050i like tattoos because it makes it less we change what we are(we are corpses), and making them have to have sunlight on them to charge up would be pretty cool. Also i propose we go for throwing axes, still ranged but avoids the bows for those that are tired of elf bowmen.
>>32551272Was that a vote to wait or to attack?
>>32551362Attack for now, these fuckers dared to attack us.But axes later(or now if we already have them)
>>32551174>>32551272>>32551397WE MARCH.At first light, we arm our war party with the rudimentary weapons we possess - spears, bows, and throwing-axes - and follow the satyr trail. With our natural elven tracking skills not eroded by undeath, we easily make it to their village, located in a forest clearing. As we step out into the sunlight from the forest, Iena blesses us with Her armor of nature. A volley of arrows into the village is followed by a squad of Dryads charging forward!>Roll 1d100 for how the battle goes, everyone
Rolled 89>>32551504Maltheon smites some bitches to dust, and the satyrs get shit in with half their warriors gone
Rolled 84>>32551504May your blood aid in the rebuilding of our people.
>>32551570>>32551619>Those rollsOur attack is a great success! After the initial assault, Maltheon calls upon Iena for aid to help back up the Dryads, and Iena answers!>New spells learned: Wrathbolt and Mend FleshThe satyr encampment is razed, with 15 satyrs raised unto undeath to serve as our thralls. There are 10 more satyrs who survived the attack; what shall we do with them?
>>32551726Convert them to ever life.
>>32551753Before we do so, can we have children?I know we age to our prime but what about birth? If we cant birth perhaps save and protect them? Give us a steady population(satyrs like fking right)
Rolled 79>>32551726Get all the info we can out of them. Like any others, Friends, Resources and tech we can use. Then they can chose live as slaves to repair the damage they did or do it in death.
>>32551818Stars like fucking but not giving birth.
>>32551753>>32551818>>32551839We elves who have been raised cannot sire progeny, but the still-mortal satyrs could. The newly-raised satyrs attempt to communicate with their still-mortal kin, but the communications do not seem to go well - the living satyrs take their lives once the opportunity arises. Attempts to raise them as well do not work. Perhaps Iena does not bestow her gift upon those who have taken their own lives, or perhaps it was because those satyrs simply did not want to live again under Her wing.Such are the mysteries of Iena.Your initially-raised satyr thralls, however, are happy to tell you what they know, and they can share their knowledge (the gift of Iena brings with it a common tongue, it seems). They know of no other tribes around here, but there is a mountain range further east from the forest. Their tech is no more advanced than ours.Furthermore, our satyr thralls are not granted the armor of Iena like we elves are. Why, we do not know. But they shall serve as our laborers in the forest and nocturnal guards - small roles, but important. Iena finds a place for everyone, it seems. What next?
>>32552132I say send a small group to check out the east. The rest meditate in the sun and earth.
>>32552222A good idea.Any others?[spoilers] sorry I'm so slow with this [spoilers]
>>32552375All good with me. I'm slow with turns as well when I run.
>>32552222Your scouting party travels further to the east, where the forest starts to thin and the ground becomes more uneven, until they arrive out of the forest onto the foothills of a tall and imposing mountain range.>Find a way up the mountains>Go north>Go south>Return to the village>Other
>>32552609find a way up the mountains, then use them as a natural fortress while staying near the forest
>>32552375you are a new dm. assuming since you started as a anon for this thread.
>>32552645Oh forgot, if we can start teaching other elves maltheons abilities, and look ibto finding some kind of digging spell
>>32552609>>Find a way up the mountainsbe a good place for the middle of our ?empire?/what ever we are ding. Also be a good vantage point to see the land.
>>32552669No, I'm actually not new. Just kinda slow at times.>>32552700>>32552645You start climbing up the foothills into the mountains to get your bearings. After some way up, you turn and look around. The ancient forest stretches out beneath you like a sea of green, with the river visible in the distance - that is where your village lies. Near the horizon, far across from the river, you see plains and a faint blue shimmer. Perhaps a trick of the light, or some great lake or sea?To the north and south, the mountain range stretches on. You see what might be a valley to your south, and highlands to your north.
>>32552609Channel the power of the earth to make a cave in the side of the mountain.
>>32552772You turn back towards the mountains and try to channel the powers of Iena to make a save, but fail. It would seem as if her power is greater when around life and its remnants, such as trees and rich soil. The rock and stone here does not respond to you.
Rolled 41>>32552805We must go to the valley. There are always fun things to do in valleys.
>>32552805Let some of our peoples armor grow and try it again. Plant our selves into dirt if need be.
Rolled 19>>32552839Changing to this, lets plant some niggaz.>Would it be possible to shapeshift into trees for security/surveillance purposes?
>>32552839>>32552861An idea strikes you. You head back down to the trees and soil, and call forth Iena's blessing. Even though it is cloudy right now, the Dryad armor forms around your party. With great concentration, you continue to call on the power of Iena and try to encourage the growth of roots into the rocky stone before you.>Roll for success
>>32552973>>32553065>Average of 80.5Iena hears your prayers this day, and compels the roots of the forests trees to grow up into the bottom of the mountain. Within a few days we'll have a nice outpost here. What next?
>>32553166Begin walking up the mountian.
>>32553166hunt for more elves
>>32553333>>32553434It's decided; we shall move forward. We leave a small guard at our growing outpost and continue up the mountainside. We soon discover two paths in the mountains, one heading west further up, and one heading south into a mountain pass.>Which way do we go? and no, don't pick both, I''m already typing slowly enough as it is
>>32553512Block the west path with some bushes and plants, go south.
>>32553512south for sure
>>32553584>>32553644You decide to head west through the mountain pass. The air grows cold and harsh winds bring snowstorms, but it does not bother you, the tireless undead. After a short while, you descend from the other side of the mountain range, and behold a forest to your northeast and a large plain directly in front of you in the east, with rivers and settlements in the distance.
>>32553728Go towards the settlements, time to grow our numbers.
>>32553728Let us regroup in the forest and get some water for the plant armor. Then I'm thinking we check out the settlements.
>>32553728These directions make no sense, if something is north of us then wouldn't that make it behind us? I'll roll with it and head toward the settlements
>>32553728Fuck, I meant we headed south
>>32553786>>32553790We headed south into the pass, which then opened in the east.Anyways, we decide to descend down the foothills and go towards the forest before heading across the plains. As we approach the forest entrance, we feel a presence about it. Familiar, yet ... haunting ... >Enter the forest>Go across the plains>Turn back across the mountains
>>32553899Into the plains of course
>>32553899>>Enter the forest
>>32553899>Go across the plainsalso Is my map kinda right?
>>32554006Eh, not quite. Gimme a minute to draw something up.>>32553955>>32554006Into the plains it is!
>>32554006>>32554051Here's an awfully-done map, with the dotted line marking the path we've taken so far.>>32553955>>32554006Anyways, we head east into the plains, until we come across a small farming village in the middle of the plains, populated by humans. What do?
>>32554309What kind of tech to they have, if little to none in the way of weapons then attack them outright.
>>32554373Not more advanced than us outright, but they use many metal tools, and have a supply of metal and weapons, a rarity back in our forest.
>>32554309Greet them with food If they are not ok with us. Then I guess we will need to come back later.
>>32554514Ask to meet the chief, and try to talk in private.
>>32554579>>32554573We have no food with us, but we walk into the village and ask to speak with the leader.Sorry for the late reply, had to go take care fo something real quick IRL.>Roll for outcome
>>32555151he was advertising for that thread.
>>32555280>>32555151Average roll of 72.5We introduce ourselves to the village leader, whose name is Hallgrim. We let the Dryad armor uncover our faces so that he may see our grey skin and pointed ears. He is shocked at first, but maintains his composure. We tell him of Iena and how we bring her gospel with us.Hallgrim tells us that our religion would not be welcome here in Imperial lands, but he is willing to let us trade for supplies so long as we keep to our own business.>What next?
Rolled 100>>32555398Ah.>>32555442Cool. I guess let find a place to make camp.
>>32555442>>32555565camp sounds good to me
>>32555442what are these imperial lands?
Rolled 35>>32555442Ask if we can talk in private, once there murder and turn him.
>>32555565>>32555611>make campSo, do you guys still wanna have rest and sleep be necessities for us undead? Also, I thought this posted 10 min ago, but it didn't go through.I'll brb for dinner, then we can continue. Thanks for all who are staying w/ me here
>>32555863the purpose of the camp is a safe perimeter and congregational area
Rolled 98>>32556024Camp is dumb and your dumb for liking it.>>32555863Lets go to the forest and hunt travelers and hunters.
>>32556169>your dumb for liking it
bumping for OP
>>32556440yer still dumb
I'm late getting back from dinner, sorry.Due to the lateness of the hour, our quest will be continued tomorrow at 3 PM EST. Have a good night, everyone!
