Excitement beats along the edge of your wings. Blood soaks the sand and is drawn into the sea. The distant beat of helicopter blades pales compared to the roaring and wounded monster in front of you.Your name is Tsubasa Campbell. For most of your life you were a wiry little girl pretending to be a boy for the sake of convenience. You died, bravely, and a miracle of the cosmos and science called you back to this world changed. Now, you fly above a beach, weaving through the slashing claws of an enormous shelled armadillo on wings made of the same black and red that saturates your being to the core. The scent of it’s blood makes the white pupils of your back eyes narrow and sharpens your teeth. You’ll feast on the source of this creature’s power. You rear back and rise up as your manipulated gravity directs you skyward before pitching forward in a dive.Roll me 15d6, best of 3, versus the above roll.

Anons...I'm starting to feel like I'm playing an RPG and stashing all my consumables right now. We're gonna beat the final boss with 999 of everything at this rate.
>>32314264We really shouldn't. We don't know what the government had in store for this thing. They could decide to use *that* on us instead if we hang around too much.
>>32314317I'm not a happy merchant, but there was no pressing need to use the points on something. If you have something good to use em on I'm all ears.
>>32314366we could always get a nice utility power, like adaptive clothing, or spend it on getting MAD CUHRAZEE STYLE when we go open
>>32314337No, even if they had countermeasures I can pretty much guarantee that they won't use them on us.
>>32314317I think we should just eat the damn thing already personally.Bigger boost if we go noming on the nanomachines
>>32314461Why? Because we look sorta human?
>>32314548No, because we're not rampaging around and don't pose an obvious danger, and countermeasures powerful enough to harm/restrain giant monsters are very expensive and won't be used lightly, in the same way people won't drop a nuke in their own country unless it's absolutely necessary. Not to mention if they're designed for giants, they might not even be able to use them on us, as we're still human sized.
Diving straight down past swiping claws, you slam your open hands wide into either side of the bleeding wound in the creature’s shoulder carried by natural momentum and directed gravity. Pulling wide on either side of the wide pierced gash you let more gore spill around you, cracks begin to form on the surrounding sections of it’s armor plating. Plunging your head forward you gnash your teeth and tear a chunk from it’s flesh. The bloody mess melts against your tongue and gives you a tingle of conductive energy. This feeling, you can taste the errant bits of it’s bonded colonies and meat slide down your throat, not enough to know it’s powers but enough to give you a quick boost. Your hunger is piqued, and you wouldn’t mind enjoying more of this subject’s “raw materials” either. It isn’t human, just a beast. No moral dilemma. Besides, it was going to try and eat you.Still is. It’s body shudders and you leap back just in time, laughing and covered in it’s metal heavy blood. It’s mass expands out as it draws a deep and rushing swallow of air before surging forward to try and pin you beneath it’s bulk. Electricity crackles along it’s frame. That’s right, you remember when you witnessed it at sea, swallowing air so it could float despite it’s shell. Who knew it could try to weaponize that ability. Is it a natural function of it’s biology or a nanite power?
>>32315026You momentarily consider such an ability useless to you, remembering your appearance after your oceanic binge. No, being able to puff yourself up isn’t the same as actually getting bigger or stronger. It’s cheating. Your brow creases, your laughter turns to a growl. This thing is pissing you the hell off.The Coast Guard helicopters maintain their distance over the water and circle. To the south the joint military assault helicopters draw nearer. From somewhere behind you in the town, you feel the rumble of heavy engines and the smell of burning diesel. What to do?>What is your Offensive Action>What is your Defensive action, but really what can it do while it’s all puffed up and bleeding, exhale on you with bad brea- wait...given it’s probably weight and that of the shell then it would take an extreme amount of sustained pressure from the inside to do- oh hell.>You can choose to double up on either at the cost of the other.
>>32315053Double up on defense. Fly away from it and close our gravitic wings around ourself like a shell.
>>32315053Double defense, yeah. No reason to take risks. Try to circle it to make Tsubasa hard to aim at.
>>32315053Double up on offense. This thing might harm innocent people if we let it be. Charge into its wound at full speed and destroy it from the inside before it can do anything. If anything a deep enough wound might cause it to deflate like a balloon.
>>32315053Double Offense, Rip and Tear
>>32315053Double up on offence. Come on guys, the quicker we end this the less risk there is. This thing can't do any real damage to us anymore unless it has some self destruct thing, and it would probably take a few turns to get ready. Time to dive into it and take dem nanites. Finish it.

You’ve had enough fun. As much as a thrill it is to feel stronger than a titanic mutant monstrosity, you’ve dragged this on long enough, and you won’t risk it getting a chance to try anything else. You fly forward as fast as you can manage and as hard as you can force yourself. You catch it’s own arcing discharge and through linear induction propel yourself even faster. Fists forward and wings folding back you dive into the wound, and into the warmth.Piercing into it’s core, you feel the rush of explosive decompression and the peal of thunder around you as your impact drives it into the ground and it creates a trench as it is driven back into the water. The pressure unleashes out in all directions, through the spaces between the overlain plates of armor as fissures open across it’s body.Water rushes in to fill the empty space and it chills the warmth that had enveloped you. Red and black spikes out from every exposed bit of your surface and snakes into the veins, nerves, and tissue of the beast, drawing the colonies supporting this creature. You are aware of the world beyond as you enjoy the first part of your feast, as you locate and codify the nano colonies supporting this creature.

Your tendrils snag each colony and draw them down their length into you. They converge upon your core and you learn where you can allocate them. As you make your decisions and your feel the beginnings of changes overtake your body, the first peppering of bullets falls upon the the half submerged shell beyond the succulent meat your extended form is threaded through. The process of consuming the heavy metal nanites distracting you from noticing they had begun to open fire. Radio chatter crossing your senses, blurry and difficult to hear. It isn’t much of a problem as you hear the cockpit quite clearly. They’re testing the creature to see if it’s moving. They have no confirmation on what happened, no idea how this monster died.Whoever was on the bridge saw the initial exchange before you made them want to leave and stop paying attention to you. You’ve no idea what the coast guard helicopters were able to see.You shiver, not from the cold water filling what was once a warm space, it feels good. Integrating these nano machine colonies feels good, it makes you feel more. Your body twists and surges as you’ve drained the beast of the source of it’s power and leave it as rapidly cooling meat, withdrawing your tendrils.Meat. Muscle. Sinew. Bone. Cartilage. Nails. Teeth. With snap you take another savory taste of you kill, a memento and snack to curb the gnawing sensation of want. If you stay here, you’ll risk exposure, and as much as you’d like to exalt in the attention your flawless form would garner in your tight second skin it would be better not to make anymore of a show. Folding your wings close to your body, you push your way through the flesh and shell and head into the water. The sea cleanses you of blood, and you swim south for a time before breaking the surface and staying low in quick bursts from cover until you return to the hotel. Waiting a moment for the roof to clear out, you touch down and return to your hidden clothes. The changes running through your systems settle and you feel exceptionally empty.Letting the red and black recede into your skin, you get dressed with some difficulty. The loose blouse now fits comfortably. The shoulders of your jacket pull much more snuggly. It is slightly more difficult to button across your chest, and your sleeves and cuffs seem a tad too short.
