For House & Dominion: Home Front Questhttp://houseanddominion.wikia.com/wiki/HouseAndDominion_Wikihttp://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=House%20and%20DominionYou are Sonia Reynard, Attack Wing Leader and Knight of the House of Jerik-Dremine! When you were on the front lines you directly command the Third Attack Wing, the newer Fifth Attack Wing lead by Daska Rna also fell under your leadership. After 6 months deployed in Shallan space and the Pandora cluster fighting the Neeran Invasion you have returned home. Desperate to relax for a change you've been taking a month long vacation, exploring your property on Dreminth and seeing family for the first time in ages. Even your Father has returned home from his posting with House logistics marking the first time you've seen him in person for more than two years.Last time you took your younger sister Bekka and her friends out to the property for some hiking and and endurance training. Each spent some time on your small firing range practicing with stun pistols and the group took part in a treasure hunt. While it took them two days to find all of the stand-ins for parts of a destroyed probe they were able to find them all. You think they all had a fun time though you did have to take away one of their pistols after one of Bekka's friends were goofing off with them. The first large meeting of the 1st Expeditionary Fleet Social Club for the year was a success. The newly promoted Knights and nobles from the fleet got a chance to develop their etiquette skills yet still have fun with the following BBQ.Your eye implants have been powered down while work is being done on their programming. An encounter with an overly paranoid hacker or assassin revealed a number of system security loopholes that will need to be corrected before you fully trust anything they show. Your old Marine Intrusion expert Duncan is working on the project for you so the fix should work as planned.
>>31781336Oh boy, here we go.
>>31781336Things we should probably do at some point of time:-See what that weird error at the end of Versa's last transmission was.-Check if there have been any developments regarding our missing wizard.-
You've spent the better part of the past day touring the shipyards where House Helios builds their eponymous Medium Cruiser design. While at first it may have seemed like the yards were being under utilised due to mass production of weapons still ramping up, that's proven to be false. What was supposed to be a small moon sharing the same orbit at the main yard is actually a hollow shell. Girders, holograms and a few sections that might have once been cut out of the original moon itself now disguise a production facility within turning asteroids into mobile fortresses. The most affluential Houses in the Dominion are contributing to the project which will be used to fill the Super Heavy cruiser gap to fight the Neeran, and to counter the Terrans after the war. "I guess buying more stock would fall under insider trading until information about the forts has been released to the public?" you ask as the shuttle returns to the dock you first entered through."Not at all." The tour guide assures you. "More funding for this project is always needed. The return on such an investment however could take a considerable length of time.""How well would one of these vessel hold up to a Veckron Torpedo hit?" Asks an Admiral. "We don't currently know. It's hoped that the density and thickness of the rock will reduce the effectiveness of such weapons."The last area of the shipyard to visit on the tour is one of the R&D areas. "Here you can see the engineers working on the next generation of ships in the Helios line. The new vessels will have increased sublight mobility and, we hope, a more compact main gun. This ship has already been in development for some time.""How long until Houses can place orders for them?""We hope it will be within two years. Several Houses have attempted to place pre-orders.">Is there anything else you wish to investigate at the shipyard?
>>31781336FOR HOUSE AND DOMINION!
>>31782115No. Do we have any idea how long it will take before that heavy cruiser gets moved to wherever we're moving to.
>>31782115Did we take tourist pictures of the giant ship to show to the rest of the House with a gleeful smile?Besides that there is nothing I can claim to want to investigate.
>>31782115>Is there anything else you wish to investigate at the shipyard? Is there a gift shop? Can we take a photo of Sonia next to one of these cannons?Ask about their experiences when it comes to defending shipyards.
>>31782218>Do we have any idea how long it will take before that heavy cruiser gets moved to wherever we're moving to.The Carrier that RSS is working on? No idea. Nikolov instituted radio silence to prevent anyone from giving away their position.>>31782264>Did we take tourist pictures of the giant ship to show to the rest of the House with a gleeful smile?Have you? No, some anons seemed to be against that last week.>31705127>can I take pictures of it?>dear god, don't say this.>>31782269>Can we take a photo of Sonia next to one of these cannons? That you can do, since they're fairly well known. When the shuttle gets back to the main yard you hire one of the locals to take the image since they'd know what things are allowed to be photographed. You ask the guide if Helios has much experience when it comes to defending large shipyards like this one. Apparently it's only been attacked a handful of times since it's founding. The first two attacks were the most damaging, once in the Expeditionary Wars and another by the current Ruling House in the early Faction Wars. After that the number of siege cannons held in reserve were increased and all subsequent attacks on the yard were near suicide missions. "Defending yards like these are always a pain in the behind." states Admiral Wallace. "There are ways to slip in a few ships through the defenses even if you spend ridiculous amounts of manpower and money to fully protect them. This yard is a good balance.">We should attend a starfighter race.It should be possible to stop off for one on the way back to House space. Do so?
>>31782668>It should be possible to stop off for one on the way back to House space. Do so?Nah
>>31782668I don't have enough faith in Sonia's Starfighter abilitys to do such

>>31782668Can we ask Admiral Wallace a bit about himself and possibly exchange contact information? He is from the Ruling House, correct? Sounds like a good business contact for RSS and a good personal contact due to our actions during the Lat'tham debacle
>>31783312The Admiral has just come out of retirement and is currently doing high level requisitions work for the Ruling House. This is primarily because a number of groups needed convincing that the Ruling House was actually serious enough about acquiring certain equipment that they'd send a flag officer to get it. "Convenient for me as it means I get to spend half my time on high class liners getting places. Ha!">Sounds like a good business contact for RSS and a good personal contact due to our actions during the Lat'tham debacle."Yes I overheard some of your little tirade at the check in. Good to see that some of the younger people from the smaller Houses are taking an active role in requisitions. It takes some time for people to realise just how much work goes into getting proper equipment for those on the front lines."You ask him a bit about his career."Nothing tremendous. I took the long way up. Systems and operations officer, transferred to a Heavy cruiser at a good time. Knew when to report the right people and when to let things slide. That's the hard part for most people, that and timing. I think I only actually commanded a fleet in two battles. Those were both cases of letting a temporary ally take the brunt of the damage, and knowing which of my subordinates were skilled enough to handle the situations I finally committed them to. I transferred to logistics command for ten years after that and retired." The return flight to House Jerik-Dremine space is uneventful. Lorraine finds the small casino aboard and manages to lose a year's wages in ten minutes. She swears off gambling ever again. You briefly catch a news article about Kal Matheson winning one of the big starfighter races and apparently a lower placed racer making all the way up into 3rd. It seems to have been quite an upset to a few of the Nobels on board.

TSTG, what happens when Veckron torpedoes are shot at a planet?
>industrial module setup. We should get an appreciation for these things for our own shipyard. The Helios yards are a long established facility. They don't use many of the same modules used in smaller stations intended to be redeployed. As a permanant fixed installation they can build parts manufacturing lines to better supply each slipway, or the drive section production lines. They have fifty assembly lines each eight kilometers long just for constructing the sublight drive sections. This pic really is a fairly good representation. >Also, see if they're willing to source any production component to us?If they set up production in South Reach they'll give you a call but no promises about awarding any contracts. >Our Anchorage is just sitting there collecting dustIt's currently being used to construct a structural framework to stabilise a Heavy Carrier enough to make it possible for the ship to make an FTL jump. It's also supporting a large percentage of the RSS fleet on that same operation. >and we could put it to use building drive components if we acquired a contract for it.Certainly possible. There's also nothing stopping you from using industrial modules on any of your stations for the same purpose.>>31784497A lot of bad things mostly. I don't believe any have been fired at planets yet by this point in time. While I don't like to put down hard figures for the higher end weapons I will say it would make the Tsar Bomba look like a firecracker. On return to Dreminth you and Lorraine go your separate ways."Try not to lose too much more money placing bets." As a weapon based on subspace technology detonating within the gravity well of a planet might reduce the damage. Going off within an atmosphere would probably make things worse if nukes are any indication. The construction work on the lodge to put in the trophy room is finished. Having all of the models made of scrap from captured ships and other items put in will take some time still, but the holographic projectors are all installed. They still need some programming as well, but it's looking good. The back wall is carved into the rock slightly, while the slightly curved window looks out on the flat patch in front. Everything is built to match the rest of the lodge perfectly. You decide to get some sleep before dealing with what are probably a list of calls from people while you've been away.Five hours later your alarm clock is going off, once again using a randomly selected starship warning sound. The second person catches him and pulls him back out the door and out of the way. Your subsequent shots are all absorbed by the first's limp body. The barrel of a pistol sticks out around the door frame near the top of the door and fires off several shots striking the sofa. If they're scared we have more leverage to make them want to bail since they've lost the element of surprise and we're presumably going to tell them hat a strikeforce is already inbound. You know I was thinking...that one person recomended guard post locations for our property. After this I think it is the perfect time to look into that. I want guards at our property 24/7, our special safe installed, and we might also want to look into getting bodyguards to protect our family as well.

Switching the pistol to your left hand is no problem as is putting down a steady stream of covering fire through the doorway. You're a bit more nervous about unbalancing or exposing yourself to return fire by dragging the sofa along with you. Once close enough you let go and rush past the flames that now engulf the lower half of the bed. Face burning from the heat, lungs and eyes rebelling from the smoke it's all too easy to get back down to floor level. Next up you disengage the safety limiters on your right arm, grab hold of the far end of frame and lift, hurling the bed towards the doorway as hard as you possibly can. The frame breaks from the hit scattering flames everywhere. Next up, escape. The window was beginning to warp stuck from the heat. Six full power pistol shots followed by a cybernetic fist prove enough to break the shatter resistant glass. Glancing over your shoulder confirms that the doorway is still blocked and the fire showing no signs of stopping so you get to work knocking away the glass shards.Climbing through the opening is a bit awkward but you get through and are faced with hanging down from the sloped roof. Glancing around there's no sign of anyone else around save for an aerocar partially obscured by a tree."This is going to hurt."Letting go you slide down the slope of the roof, partially catching and tearing out the eavestrough on the way down and hit hard on the concrete pad. Rolling to the side with the impact is partially successful but it still hurts. A couple of bones might have been broken were it not for that upgrade.Resetting the arm safeties and putting the pistol back into stun you limp into the garage, manually unlocking the door on the way. What is your top priority?[ ] Recon armor[ ] Plasma pistol[ ] Camo[ ] Other

Majority vote for armor. >>31791874Better to lock the door. With the power and systems overloaded there's one way to be sure to buy time. A trio of pistol shots heats up the metal door frame enough that it should be hard to open, this buys you plenty of time to get the crate open and suit up. It seems like a short minute but you're soon suited up and armed. Camo active. Pulse pistol, extra ammo and stun grenades. Good enough.A swipe with the HF blade cuts through the damaged sections of the door and you're let loose. "Good news sir, we got them!" "Dead or alive?""Alive. We used the recovery tractor beams to snag them once they get into the open. They were trying to pass themselves off as a normal ground level repulsor car.""Good work, now get back here ASAP my lodge is on fire and I can't get an ETA on the fire crews."It turns out that the understaffing problem the emergency services in the region are suffering isn't limited to police. It takes time for the volunteer fire department to mobilise and get out to the area. Meanwhile you make sure Amello is looked after with the medkit properly before grabbing a hand extinguisher. Oh shit. The Fire spread through the open room a bit faster than you expected it would. The trophy room is easy to lock down and isolate but everything else not in the bunker is going to be a problem. One of the Marine technicians rush inside in full armor once they land to try and help you get the extinguishers working but it looks like the power feeds to all the water pumps were screwed over by the little EMP. The open kitchen area has a chemical extinguisher system present which you're able to manually trigger. Soon most of the lower level is covered in white powder helping to contain the damage.Fire crews do eventually arrive and put out the remainder by which point you've evacuated outside. Damage estimates are heavy. While the structure is still stable enough that it did not collapse much of the wood sections did take heat or fire damage. The marines secured their communication devices once captured."Have they made any calls?" You ask after heading back upstairs."There's one tagged around midnight local time then it looks like they turns their coms off.""Probably so that it wouldn't make extra noise and wake someone up." >>31804773No, no, what we want to do is throw him into the container then wait outside. If someone shows up, they might just shoot whoever's in the container, and that's not a lot of space to dodge in. So we wait outside, with marine drop-team on call. When someone shows up and opens the container, then we call in the team and make our own move.
>>31804846That works, though I'm worried about the container being moved with the automatic systems, if I understand the facility correctly.Outside it is

I'm not as familiar with the camo systems.""Don't worry about it." You urge him. "Just cover the entrance for a vehicle leaving with a container marked with that number."Heading inside its easy enough to find the drop off and pickup locations. There are coloured lines for the drivers to follow into the approach lanes depending on the type of vehicle they're driving. The code guide posted seemingly on every available surface. All the loading points you can see are near the main entrance and have conspicuous frames extending out over them for the cargo mover arms to work with. Decidedly low tech but more than adequate. The shuttle crew call in."Sir, there's another two or more container loading points at the back for damaged containers. "Hack the ones at the rear pad. Its easier to fix than physical damage."The second shuttle arrives and sets down, four marines carrying an ammo crate large enough to put a person inside. A fifth one is wearing Slag's jacket and has messed up his hair enough to pass for him from a distance.Climbing to the top of the loading arms you watch them summon the container you rented and toss the stunned body inside. One of them climbs up and marks the top of the container with nearly invisible IR reflective paint. They make it out of the depot and less than twenty minutes later one of the repulsor trucks that are pulling in summons the container. Sliding down from your position you land on top of the truck and secure yourself.Once loaded the driver, a rather gaunt man in his 40's, gets out and sticks a scanner to the side of the container."Morning Tim, what you up to?" Asks one of the depot technicians."Just checking for stowaways. You know how it is. Looks clean, I'll see you later." "Don't forget you still need to pick up that other container for the box company. It's going to cost you extra if you keep it here much longer.""I'll get it later."The vehicle leaves the depot at which point your sensors detect an outgoing call from the driver."It's me. I'm bringing in that delivery to the second point. Your boys can clear it."The next four hours are spent in transit to one of the minor cargo ports in the region. While technically rated as a small spaceport it's only used to ferry goods from the surrounding 2500km out to the major cities on the coast. A Frigate converted for atmospheric cargo hauling is currently taking up the main berth. The repulsor truck stops at one of the terminals at which point the container is detached to be moved inside. "Follow the truck driver. Get his image an license plate into the database."You meanwhile follow the container as it is lowered into the depths of the space port. There's enough of a gap between the loading arms that you don't have to hang off the side or do anything else excessively dangerous. After being shuffled around the facility for a few minutes the container arrives at a security scanning station that looks to be closed off.Several people dressed like mercenaries or a poorly equipped black ops team are present, armed with a mix of silenced ballistic weapons and phase rifles."Bring it down nice and steady." Orders the team leader, a human whose hair has gone completely white. "Weapons ready. They were supposed to hit her with a sedative but we're not taking any chances given the size of that bounty." "If you're worried why don't we just blast her?""The family will pay a lot more for a living body than some pieces of crap from South Reach will for a dead one. Not wanting to let the one at the control console become a problem later you drop down to floor level while the others open the container door."One body, not moving.""Dren?""Moving in." Only one of them steps into the container, the others ready to fire or duck out of the way if anything unusual happens. Not quite as you planned. That's fine, you have options. The first of which is readying both stun grenades."It's not her!" Shouts the one in the container."Shit." Everyone begins to back away, looking everywhere. The leader is about to hit a button on his helmet when you throw both grenades, one into the container, the other in front of it.Grabbing the collar of the one at the control panel you shoot him in the back with your stun pistol while taking cover. The entire bay lights up from the stun grenades going off and your sonar picks up the distinctive sound of a metal grenade rolling across the floor. The flash bang goes off relatively close to your position but your suit is able to handle the worst of the explosion. "This is Reynard, I've stunned five hostiles. Contact building security and home in on my signal.""Copy that sir." Responds one of your men at arms, their voice sounding quite a bit scratchier than normal. Rushing back to the container you grab one of the stun grenades, reset it and hurl it through the open doorway. There are a few cracks of weapons fire before it goes off by which point you've retrieved the second grenade from inside and are headed back to engage them. Setting it for a double pulse this time you set yourself near the entrance and wait until you detect movement from the squad preparing to rush the doorway. A flashbang bounces off the door frame landing at your feet and you barely have time to kick it back into the hall before it detonates. Following through with the stun pulse grenade the rest of the squad are caught mostly by surprise with the sudden one-two combination. Checking them with your pistol drawn it looks like they were getting ready to switch to slightly more lethal ordinance next given their lack of other flashbangs. Alarms begin to blare and the sounds from the cargo movers begin to speed up."All security personnel, we have reports of weapons fire in the lower levels. We are beginning lockdown effective immediately." The soud of heavy blast doors slamming shut begins to echo through the facility and the cargo movers come to a halt. "Guys what's your status?" you ask."We're talking to building security right now sir. The people in charge of the spaceport can't be certain who might be cooperating with any armed mercs in the building and want's to keep them from escaping. Especially since no one has been officially authorised to deploy armed troops on the property.""What about unofficially?""That's where the problem might be sir. We're working on it. You might be down there for an hour or two. Is there anything you would like us to take care of?"At this point you detect a communicator belonging to the Merc leader going off. You lack sufficient voice samples pull off the voice modulation trick again. >Your orders?

Hopefully the Marines will have intel attempting to track all com traffic coming out of the port by now. Either way you're out of time as the com is on it's 6th ring."Has the package arrived yet? >>31811975Can we get the owner of the space port on the phone? Maybe we can make up a story that he was so kind to provide us with his facility for a training scenario, and things went slightly out of hand.
>>31811975Contact House Intel immediately, secure line."Plan B" is likely going after a family member, a knight in our wing, or one of our crew.We need security details assigned immediately to ranking crew and specialists. Then RSS needs to be put on high alert, as well. Mr London or his family could be plan B.>Mediadeploy that jamming gauntlet and casually walk past them.
>>31812067I agree. We still have a guy to catch and I get the feeling we will be working with Intel on this one. Also got to think of some good names for that security company that we are going to build after this incident. On another note I have the strange urge to see if there are any "jobs" available.
>>31812067>>31812183>No statement, get the police to institute a blackout while we continue our investigation.2 for this.>>31812070She's currently busy talking to police and the spaceport operators. There are accusations of corruption and smuggling being thrown about.>Maybe we can make up a story that he was so kind to provide us with his facility for a training scenario, and things went slightly out of hand. You leave this message with the secretary along with contact information.>>31812177>deploy that jamming gauntlet and casually walk past them. It's in the bunker being checked out and even if you did have it on you its range is quite short. The sensor array in your arm could cause far more damage or more limited effects of a similar sort. Do so?>Contact House Intel immediately, secure line.>"Plan B" is likely going after a family member, a knight in our wing, or one of our crew.>We need security details assigned immediately to ranking crew and specialists."Knight Captain I'm going to help you as much as I can with this in the short term, but do keep in mind there's only so much House intel assets should be used to help any one person. You are going to have to develop your own contacts and assets to look after your businesses and family without our help. But don't worry, until then we'll help you keep an eye on things..." He looks off to the side at another screen then back to yours. "Captain Reynard have you spoken to your family after the initial event took place?"
>>31811975Say nothing. We don't want the kidnappers to know their whole operation was compromised.
>>31812379>"Captain Reynard have you spoken to your family after the initial event took place?""No, my parents are on vacation and my sister is staying at a friend of hers. I thought it would be better not to contact them in case somebody was monitoring my comms."
>>31812379I understand of course and...I haven't contacted them since the incident.[Paranoia_intensifies]
We need to find Bekka. The parents always pay and she is vulnerable at another friend's house. We need to get House Intel to focus their assets on her. The real brains behind this op knows our weakness for our baby sis.
"No, my parents are on vacation and my sister is staying at a friend of hers. I thought it would be better not to contact them in case somebody was monitoring my comms.""If you know their whereabouts I would suggest sending teams to their locations immediately. There was an incident at a school your sister is registered as attending a little over an hour ago. Several students are missing. No nobles officially attend so the local police didn't flag it as a usual high profile kidnapping at first. I'm going to have one of my people verify the headcount and get back to you with relevant data. We'll talk again Captain." With that the channel closes.>Your orders?
>>31812679>>Your orders?Call fucking everybody. Alex, Mike, whoever.
>>31812679Get in a damn aerocar and blitz over to where her school is.
>>31812679You know those guys we just handed over to the police? We'll be borrowing them again and working our way toward the leader until someone gives a name. And one of them will give us a name.
>>31812679Get the one named Adler and start interrogating.
>>31812874>You know those guys we just handed over to the police?>We'll be borrowing them again and working our way toward the leader until someone gives a name.>>31812901>Get the one named Adler and start interrogating.Which would be great if they hadn't just been arrested. The Dro'all Noble who owns the port also wants to know just what the hell was going on and how they managed to get an area set aside for their little operation. They're also slightly unconscious still due to being stunned multiple times and will take a bit before they can be woken up.>>31812766>Call fucking everybody.Everyone?>>31812870>Get in a damn aerocar and blitz over to where her school is.This or wait until some of the mercs can be woken up at the police station? Also what do you plan to do with the other 2 conspirators? The truck driver Tim, and Mr Sledge back at the bunker. Arrest them too?
>>31812766Seconding this...kinda. I want our bodyguards, men-at-arms and all loyal marines on station ASAP.Put the Devourer into lockdown mode and contact Mr London to inform him that company asserts may soon be under attack and to take all necessary steps. Calling Alex and Mike and grabbing their respective forces would also probably be a good step.
>>31813192The guy played his hand. Plan B was to kidnap Bekka.Either she and her squad went to ground thanks to the street gang one, or they're captured and we'll have a ransom demand soon.We should get our marines and ourselves to her school area ASAP, however. We might run across our sister or witnesses.
>>31813258We can't assume that's the only part. Putting a call out to all of our loyal forces on the Homeworld to help secure our assets is just a smart precaution. But I do agree that we and the marines with us right now should proceed to Bekka's school with no delay.
We've hit autosage, btw.
>>31813086Everyone.Start with Alex & Mike and then have them spread the word that someone is picking a fight with the boys and girls of 3rd and 5th Attack Wings. Their preferred method: Kidnapping.I want it known that we will do anything for our family and we would do the same for any of our people under our command.CALL.....EVERYONE.
>>31813480That seems excessive. Asking Alex and Mike for possible help seems fine, but we should just have them pass on a warning to the rest of 3rd & 5th wing.Hopefully some people will ask to help on their own.
>>31812379>Knight Captain I'm going to help you as much as I can with this in the short term, but do keep in mind there's only so much House intel assets should be used to help any one person. You are going to have to develop your own contacts and assets to look after your businesses and family without our help. The fuck do we pay several millions in taxes for each year?
>>31813660That was actually what I wanted to do though I was trying to channel Sonia into my writing if that makes sense.
>>31813764I think that was his way of saying "you should have hired security forces that probably would have been bribed to do the kidnapping by us so we can have a bigger budget"
>>31813822Which funnily enough I think is the next thing on our to do list is create a security force through our company. That and getting this bounty off our head though i'm pretty sure that has jumped to the 1st priority after this.
Autosage. We've been moving along this week I guess. I'm considering running a second thread this week since I have a couple of short shifts for the next 2 days. Thoughts? Also it seems that suptg is alternating between being down and running so slow it's being mistaken as being down so it's taking me longer to archive. And it's down again.Hopping in the shuttle you ask two of the marines to remain and assist the police with their investigation at the space port. After that you head for the city at best possible speed to see what happened at Bekka's school. on the way you start making calls. Alex and Mike are the first ones contacted followed by the other squadron leaders in 3rd then Daska. You make sure all of them are alerted to the possibility of kidnapping attempts in the recent future. Alex asks if ransom demands have come in yet."No, but my parents are on vacation so they would be hard to get hold of and most of my lodge was damaged in a fire from the first kidnapping attempt this morning.""Do you have kidnapping insurance yet?""I'd better." you grumble, though you suspect that would require someone actively setting it up."How big was the bodyguard contingent?""Alex you've been out to my lodge it's in the middle of nowhere, and I figured if I assigned guards to look after the rest of my family it might draw attention to them."Your former wingman gives you a serious look. "Sonia your company has more cash at any given time than most of my family has assets. You have to take the possibility of this sort of thing seriously, I would have warned you if I'd realised you weren't."Daska is likewise disappointed in your lack of security measures. "I will try to maintain watch on the rest of the unit while you deal with getting your missing sibling back."Mike proves to be less concerned about the safety of his own family given the threats they face daily and says he'll be ready with a few volunteers within the day.
>>31814145you know, it wouldn't be shocking if Mr London had set up some form of insurance as part of the business. Probably doesn't cover Bekka, though.
>>31814145>Also it seems that suptg is alternating between being down and running so slow it's being mistaken as being down so it's taking me longer to archive.>And it's down again.I archived the thread. Aaaand somebody else was seconds faster.>I'm considering running a second thread this week since I have a couple of short shifts for the next 2 days. Thoughts? It's more of something I like, for free. You won't hear any complaints from me.
>>31814145I would be up for another thread.I'm actually surprised we didn't hire security also. It's come up a couple times but we just never got around to it.
>>31814562Another thread sounds good!I guess we just thought general anonymity would be a better guarantor of our security than a brigade of security officials
A few of your pilots can spare time to help out if you need them along with a dozen of their marines.Ecord is off world and is unavailable.Allied assets:11 Knights (9 Pilots, 2 Marines)40 Marines1 LST6 Shuttles5 Starfighters∞ AerocarsArriving at the school in the early afternoon there are already a few news vehicles parked within walking distance. A dozen camera drones are outside the property. With little room to park you rope down with a body guard while the others take the shuttle to secure an aerocar for better access. Police don't seem pleased that they have to deal with an irate noble in power armor in addition to everything else but do their best to answer your questions. An aerocar outfitted with a supercharged engine was sighted on the same street as the school where they were likely observing the sports fields over the course of the day. Shortly after lunch hour it took off and landed in one of the fields where a number of students were gathered, the occupants then used a grenade launcher to fire a pair of stun grenades into the crowd. They took as many as five young teens with them then escaped at high speed. Their vehicle was last sighted entering an underground service tunnel. Unfortunately it's a big city and it would be easy for it to merge with ground level repulsor traffic using connecting cross tunnels and drainage spill ways. Two of the missing kids on the list are Bekka and her friend Dan along with others you don't recognise. Bekka's two other friends are among those hospitalised."If its true that you were also targeted for kidnapping grabbing the other kids may have just been a cover to throw off local PD." Suggests a police sergeant.>Questions for the officers?
>>31814784We should call our parents."Mom, if you had a tracking chip installed in Bekka, now is the right time to tell me."
>>31814784>>Questions for the officers?-What can we do to help them?-How much will this cost us if we simply decide to play?-Why the hell is there a difference between "kidnapped teenager" and "kidnapped teenager from a noble family"?
>>31814784I'm tempted to go to the news cameras, ask for a moment of their time, and say something along the following:We're Knight Captain Reynard, 14 men just failed to successfully kidnap us, so they kidnapped our sister and 4 other children from this school. To the kidnappers and the persons they're handing the kidnapped persons off to:You have two hours to drop off all 5 persons, alive, at a police station or medical facility and we'll forget that we should find and deal with you in most unpleasant ways.During those 2 hours, we'll be hunting. If those 2 hours pass and they're not released, we're certain that many more people will be hunting you.
>>31814784Don't really know what to ask him. What are the normal procedures that happen in cases like this?>>31815310Not sure if I want to do that as it might inflame the situation and give them a heads up that they are going to pay for what they did.
"Mom, if you had a tracking chip installed in Bekka, now is the right time to tell me.""Your father used to joke about getting one for you when your were younger but we figured if we did it would result in us stuck in an old age home with similar tracking monitors later in life. We're okay by the way Sonia thank you for asking.""Sorry. Are you really okay though?""A few of your friends from House intelligence showed up and have provided an escort. We're on our way to pick up the baby now. Find your sister, then I'll say that I'm okay.""That goes for me as well." Your father adds.>-What can we do to help them?"Not antagonise the kidnappers if you can, but it seems you may have already done that. Follow the instructions they give you. In most cases it works out safer for everyone to pay the ransom. People like yourself are just as likely to take matters into their own hands and complicate things.">-How much will this cost us if we simply decide to play? (pay?)"From the information we've been given normally you'd be insured at a minimum of 20 million, so start around there and go up.">-Why the hell is there a difference between "kidnapped teenager" and "kidnapped teenager from a noble family"?"Kidnapping multiple people can mean a number of things. Could easily be a slaver ring if they're lower to middle class, though they don't normally risk hitting middle class schools if they can help it. For a Noble that almost always means ransom. Assassination would have been far simpler for someone seeking revenge since you can't count on wounding or disabling someone permanantly with modern medicine. All of that means we need to change where we're looking."
>>31815672>"From the information we've been given normally you'd be insured at a minimum of 20 million, so start around there and go up."So, was somebody so nice to get Sonia one of these policies when she became a noble? Or will we have to pay out of our own pocket?
>>31815672You know...I feel that everything after this is going to consist of 100% work. This is probably why the Baron keeps herself busy and has taken to drinking....I think i'm going to make myself a drink as well.
A quick check of your personal funds after the sales of 100 SP Torpedoes to the House shows you currently sitting at around 90 million. You should be able to afford a good sized ransom if you decide to go that direction and those repairs to the Lodge.Mr Amello is less than pleased about the damage done to the place and the threat on both your lives. Which is to say that he's tempted to shoot the remaining prisoner, take a cast of their face and mount the resulting model someplace appropriately. Like as a knife rack with multiple knives stabbed through it.>>31815815>So, was somebody so nice to get Sonia one of these policies when she became a noble? Or will we have to pay out of our own pocket?Well normally you'd have to set it up with your insurance company. You're covered against death by military insurance which is such a small amount it's barely worth mentioning compared to the rest of your funds. Kidnapping insurance is a civilian problem and one that nobles and their families usually deal with or ignore themselves. Some don't take such insurance, instead investing in more guards and protection. You've done neither, though there has been discussion about the guards.Mr London has received your message and has already been at work for the past week or two attempting to get a company intel framework into place. It is proving to be hard work. No surprise. With the current heightened state of alert he has spent some money ensuring that PDF and military will have enough personnel aboard the stations for the time being to fill any gap left by most of the mercs being away on salvage jobs. "It's difficult work as I'm trying to balance different backgrounds of the various people that would seem to be most suitable for the job.""Is that because you don't trust them?""Exactly."Thread has just about fallen off the board. I cant believe I didn't link the thread from the wiki main page again.I will be starting the next thread after 4PM EST tomorrow.
>>31816221Thanks for the thread TSTG!
