Rolled 68Well thanks to class getting canceled on me once more I shall start the thread earlier then usual.Last time among the Gearhead Garrison we have escaped monstrous plants, brood forces, and have now entered the borderlands known as the Darklands where the sun literally doesn't shine. Where even color itself seems to be drained away. There we are crossing barren deserted lands scattered with the odd ruins and occasional base of operations. We even noticed a few towns and what appears to be cities.AlertWe are being followed by who is unknown.Anyway will keep thread up for discussion.

>>31687152Ok, so, I missed the last three threads.Anyone able to give a quick rundown of the situation?
>>31687224The last three threads? Jeeze.Last Thread: We got some decent hydroponics working (enough to take care of our food/water needs indefinitely, judging by the stats). We got out of the agricultural area we were in because we almost got wiped by a bunch of plants and nasty brood. We also noticed an unknown mobile base following us. Bets are on it either being some of Warlord Slag's forces hunting Rizal, or the guys who got us our mobile bases trying to return our forces that were on loan. You know how this game is though, it's either the former or something even nastier. We also collected a lot of resources.2 Threads Ago: We got two mobile bases, one industrial platform designed for resource harvesting (a very very nice and powerful one at that...and our military base is wrapped around it like a hermit crab shell), and one 'Battle Support Unit' which specializes in supporting fleets of vehicles in combat from behind the foremost lines (it used to belong to the Paladins, before we stole it). This was at the cost of owing a bandit group a favor, and lending them some of our men and giving some tanks.3 threads ago: The Great Clusterfuck continued.
>>31687174>Basic 1Have Checho the Big head out in the Shades again. This time he's looking to see who's following us and looking for defensible places we could hole up in if those dudes are looking for a fight.>Basic 2Have the Gunny and the Azar Band (and whoever else thinks they can help) set up a booze making operation. Nothing helps morale like taking care of the men's thirst.>Basic 3Have the Gerz. Industry guys start looking into/converting some of our equipment so we can produce (mostly light and midrange) vehicles. We want to be producing stuff that's at least bandit tier, take their time if they need to.Training: Carry on with the Combined Arms training.Other:Ask Skeller and co. how they feel about us being followed. Any ideas on who it is?
>>31687533Have we tried radioing the base that's following us?
>>31687650No, we detected it right when we were also getting hit by the brood and plants...then we ran away into the area that we're in now. We kind of hoped we'd lost them among the clusterfuck of brood and plants fighting. We've only just now at the start of this thread detected them again. Here are current region stats:Bandits Above AverageFaction Density LowMonsters Below AverageZombies Above AverageREDACTED Extremely High
>>31687685We've also been considering switching onto the Foolish Civ for a time, because they need some love and our men might be better off without us.
>>31687685Also, welcome to Moldovania.Where everything is black and white.
>>31687710Oh yeah. . .I want to play them also. Not because I don't really love playing the gearhead, but because I really want to find out more with them.
>>31687747There's been somewhat a lack of inspiration as for where to take the Gearheads. Skeller has suggested picking up some Think Tankers (dunno how we'd do that) or nabbing some megacorp manufacturing equipment though.
>>31687803How can there be a lack of inspiration? We have so many unique members and individuals, stable resources, a base, and peace to carry out research and develop things. We're literally in the position we used to fight blood and tooth for.
>>31687844Our research facilities are very sub-par, discouraging us from research (we really ought to invest in improving those...but you know how these things go, they'd be crude-mediocre), our manufacturing facilities are non-existent (we're working on remedying that, we've determined that we need more (cheap) vehicles because the vast majority of our expert-tier Gearhead pilots go unutilized with our current small stock of elite vehicles...we also need something to shield those elite vehicles from getting destroyed when something goes wrong). We have all the stuff we need, we're just in the difficult stage of hitting our heads against the wall until we develop the stuff that we want and can build off of.
Rolled 37>>31687803and you to think I thought you were going to go on a road trip that is my setting. Crossing through the lands of darkness across mountains, coasts, Motherland, before going over the bridge and looking upon what the works of the Ghoulish Krulsade that it wrought upon an entire fucking continent before very nearly sweeping through another. >>31687929Actually with work you get them to be good...its just to make it beyond good is when shit gets hard and not just time consuming.>>31687726You haven't reached there yet.
>>31687929Looks like our only options are theft and trade. But at least, we are working on them.
>>31688005Development is an option*.*It's just that theft is so much easier.
Rolled 11>>31687644I'll support it.
Rolled 57There was also discussion last thread about stopping by some of the nearby ruins (after scout+exploring and bait+switching) for more resources since we're currently in the outskirts of the Darklands so things haven't gotten unbearably bad yet.
Rolled 42>>31688162Oh, and building chapels for the religious factions so they can do their worship things to ease morale tensions. Maybe a lounge/relaxation area too. Morale is a desperately important issue.
Rolled 72>>31687644Works for me.
>>31688173Pleasing the individual groups among us may have the unintended side effects of causing further schism and splinter among us.What we really need is a cause to get behind, a reason everyone can get alonge with, whether you are a holy-than-thou type or the most hedonistic violence junkie. Something that makes the Gearheads a gearhead.
Rolled 47>>31688320But what makes a Gearhead a Gearhead?
>>31688376Our love of vehicles and kicking ass in them. What we need is better production capabilities.
Rolled 9>>31687174In the interest of long term cohesion, I suggest the following instead of booz-making:>Basic 1: Meeting of the mindsElton, Gunny, Rothru, Ulmesu and all the other heros or proto-heros who are well respected by their respective factions sequester themselves for a few hours to discuss the morale problem. Bitching about each other is encouraged so long as solutions are also suggested, and Elton does his best to keep things from escalating too far. The leaders put their faction's most common complaints on the table and try to come up with compromises. This is really the only way we can turn a bunch of semi-hostile people working together into a new faction. We may want to RP this one, and I realize it's risky to roll for it, but that is one meeting I'd love to be a fly on the wall for. I'd also love to fluff for Ulmesu if Guide is all right with it, I feel like I've gotten to know the old girl a bit.
>>31688457We can't let rally everyone behi.d that though, we need infantry to support our tanks and salvagers to go get our equipment for us.Oh, we'll be want to use our spare parts for essential systems on our cheap vehicles, or make them extremely rugged and completely analog. Otherwise the first guys that come along with an EMP bomb will knock'm out.(I presume paramilitary equipment is emp-hardened).
>>31688871I immediately regret this suggestion.
>>31688871>>31688871That's an excellent idea. We'll do it next turn. Have at RPing it too.
Rolled 32>>31688871Who da hell is Guide? As for heroes and named characters I tend to have a profile written up for them most the time. Granted like 90% never sees the light of day but still.Ullmesu does have some stuff written up for her but for the most parts its largely a few stats that need some serious tinkering with(damn you dice gods) and very rough background that I am determining. Fucking stacks man have to explain it all...
Rolled 28>>31687644Let's get ourselves some alchohol. Rollan
>>31689097Sorry, I wrote that up last night so I could copypasta it quickly and wrote the name of a different GM by mistake. I meant Genie of course. If you already have stats made up maybe it wasn't Ulmesu I was fluffing after all. Is one of the heroes you mentioned a battle cultist who prays to weird gods and can perform battle manoevers that seem to defy the laws of physics? Otherwise I guess that guy managed to stay out of the medalling ceremony. Which was his intent after all.
Rolled 67>>31689170I'm surprised riots didn't you break out a long time ago if we've been without even the most basic abusable substances for this long.
>>31689242Aye.We ever get to the swamp and on good terms with Tabula, we should see about aquiring the recipie for Memor Mojo and hopefully finding and managing to subdue those carniverous hops plants.
Rolled 2>>31689242Gearheads are adrenaline/racing junkies. Figured that was pretty obvious...>>31687644Checho didn't find anything. Whoever they are their good but he did notice flyers who were with them up there.Crude distillery has been established much to the rejoice of many those who don't like booze were reminded of their other possibilities. Morale BoostGerz. Industries has descended upon the stockpiles, scraps, materials, and resources. We await to see what it is they are up to, but considering the ruckus they claim they can bring back wrecks online again so long as senstive systems are not a problem. They are however as they explain lacking 'blueprints', also its a bit of a mess there.
Rolled 29>>31689276We'll do the fucking shit out of that if it's at all possible.Remember though, mutants could barely handle the stuff. All the bandits we sent it to refused it because it was so damn strong (and nasty...at first).Heh, remember how we tried to use ut as a trade good when we were sitting on warehouses and warehouses full of awesome biofuel?
Rolled 32>>31689361Sorry, could you clarify a bit on what peoples reaction to the booze was?

Rolled 19>>31689452Aw yeah, i was waiting for this. Time for SCIENCE!>D: researchThere have got to be some curious sciency-type among the 1300 people in here. The bar opening up will have given them an opportunity to post flyers so they can set up some interdisciplinary brainstorming. I suggest they join forces and study the weirdness in this place, taking photographs with natural and artificial lighting, putting rocks under a spectroscope, seeing how photosensitive materials react to the light... and see whether anything [redacted] occurs to them. All in a friendly atmosphere of course. Science brings people together!Oh and we should try to survive whatever is happening too.
Rolled 50>>31689521Who was the minority, by the way? Were they just small groups within several of the religious factions?

Rolled 82>>31689452Well, my roughneck's instincts are telling me we should either try to shut that thing in or put some distance between ourselves and the blowout. And I don't think we can shut it in. (capture a little bit maybe though? Madness in a can for later? via forbidden knowledge perhaps?). What say the cultists?
>>31689838Well, that was more along the lines of asking if you guys could come up with cool vehicle ideas.Like, how about the "Gear Shredder", a single wheeled motorcycle meant for one man. The wheel is a large piece of metal in the shape of a gear, and made of the most durable steel we can get our hands on.On it's sides are claws, which once the Shredder gets on top of an enemy light vehicle or monster, digs in and then the driver revs up to full speed, shredding into it with the gear. When it's chewed in deep enough or it's time to get out, the claws release and the vehicle is sent hurdling away from danger. It is also equipped with dual machine guns to the sides.>>31689878>The Crusader is the one talking about that sorta thing he had spent most his life in this area and along the coasts before his temporary retirement.Does he suggest bunkering down where we are right now, or findnig a better place to hide?

Rolled 19>>31689993Actually, Basic 2 would probably be better if replaced with this idea: >>31689815

Rolled 93>>31690914They offered crazy vehicle patterns. So if you got the basic models you can turn them into CRAZED variants.Crazy vehicles are odd you can upgrade one ability of the vehicle while decreasing another AND something random will happen. They are known as crazed because only crazies are insane enough to use much less build them. Mostly because each vehicle is specially built off of madness, crazed imagination/user/design and unpredictable things will pop up that the sane can't/wont deal with. Only bandits are noted to using them and even then its only the crazy ones. Regular bandits prefer their looted models or customized.Mad Prints meanwhile allow you to design something that will be effected by MAD. In other words say you put down jeep. The plans will warp/change and the outcome may be that vehicle now has rocket boosters and sings kiddie songs in addition to what was previously done. Problem is MAD PRINTS are very hard to produce.>>31690930Actually the volunteered for those who took part in the competition...it just drove many of them insane.>>31691073To be fair they were in a staring contest...

Rolled 18>>31691300Crazies usually end up being bandits because their parent civs kick them out.Now in addition to all of our prior issues we also have a group of proto-bandits thrown in the midst. That's how we fucked up.
>>31691380Man even when we decide to not go bandits the game always tries to nudge us into their way.
Rolled 84>>31691415So long as we stay not-evil enough that Skeller and Rizal don't leave, I'm fine with straddling the line with these guys.
Rolled 36>>31691516Well, and that our members don't riot. That's going to happen anyway though.Hopefully this blowout will pass over us soon. That way we can try to get everyone to love and understand one another. And realize that we're going to need all the help we can get AND a little crazy to make it to where we're going.
Fluffing>"Oh hive mind of little insanity causing spheres - a bit of a misnomer as they're looking pretty big right now - let your wild acolytes enjoy this day and forgive us our sanity as we forgive those who hold our insanity against us. Let not our inspiration be turned to evil deeds, but only to the cause of fun, especially in the presence of our many enemies...">"Are those guys praying to Yog-sothoth?">"Excuse me! I don't call your chosen divinity by its common name do I!?">"Er, sorry. Um. Could you... ask it not to make us too insane while you're at it?">"...And those boring guys who pray in public (which admittedly I'm doing too at the moment) would like to donate their share of your blessing to us, which we shall seek to turn into the utmost finest of creations and not waste one glimpse of..."
>>31691516And honestly, it's a shame Rizal is so young not to have inherited the Memor's "We can still be good guys, and be bandits and reavers while feeding our enemies to ghouls and zombies at the same time" ideology.
Rolled 22>>31691380If it makes you feel any better a lot of gays and even trannies end up the same.Basically if you rub against the grain, do something wrong, or piss the wrong person off one of three things will happen to you. Suffice it to say a surprising number of bandits actually started off as not being so bad and being thrown out soley for being gay isn't unheard of. Some argue it may even be common.DeathPunishOutcastBasically people can't afford to do any of the usual resources for punishment and prefer either killing you, throwing your ass out, or if your lucky some kind of punishment. Old luxuries such as prisons and stuff to help the insane don't really exist anymore. Hell even being against the norm can EASILY see yourself being in deep shit.>>31691415Honestly didn't see that coming. For some reason though I notice you fuckers like doing that lately.>>31691516Only bandits are known to employ crazies due to them being the only ones willing to put up with them. At least for the vast majority of the time.
Rolled 5>>31691575That made me chuckle.
>>31691578Really?I always felt that the Post Apocalypse bar Paladin and relgious group led to much sexual freedom.I mean, sure there are practical reasons to promote heterosexuality (I.e. increasing population of the state) but even in the Memor where baby making was an outright civil duty we didn't care who or what you did, species or sex be damned. We know as a fact Didrickson didn't mind Alexis and Ramona's bouts of consensual wombatting, hell bet he did everything he could to get in on that.
Rolled 29>>31691661Yeah...surprising number of bandits are fags.Basically a lot of stuff that made that shit excepted/liberated dried up real fast along with a lot of other stuff. Sure there are a few groups who still don't give a shit but ignorance, lost knowledge, and such did a real number.Things got tough, shit was lost, things went to hell, ect. You didn't conform and you'll find yourself in deep. Thus a lot of sorry bastards ending up getting thrown out and ending up bandit. It was a mix of things that allowed it to go that far.Basically for most civs look down upon such things a lot of the time. While the rest ignore and fewer still actually care. Really what it comes down to is ignorance and such. Critical things like medical stuff tended to be preserved much better of the time.By civ I actually mean population as in a whole. Obviously civs with a good knowledge base are much more liable to not care as much.
Rolled 94>>31691803Civs with a good knowledge base can probably afford losing members a lot less too.Think Tanks are going to be a lot more tolerant of deviancy than a survivor group is, because they aren't going to exile a god-tier scientist over wanting the D in the B.
Well, I suggest the following>Basic 1: Batten the fuck outta them hatches!>Basic 2: Party/mad scientist contest continues into phase 2: BUILD! You've got blueprints, you've got spare parts and genius, start making something! It's an orgy of creativity and possibly the other kind too>Basic 3HarvestThis is possibly a really, really bad idea and if anyone wants to veto it they should. But we're riding a wave of good luck and crazy here, and we may be able to build some very cool stuff using crazy components. Gunny could stand by and shut down the harvester if it looks like we're just letting the crazy in too much. We wanted a think tank, we got a crazy think tank. Which makes tanks. Mad tanks.
Rolled 24>>31691862That certainly helps quite a lot too. I try to at least use a realistic base/inspiration for things.
Rolled 36>>31690930I thought this was consensus already.
>>31691978Oh was it? It's a good list certainly. Hehe, we wanted a think tank, we got a crazy think tank. That makes mad tanks. Just in general, I'm thinking the crazy forces, given how they were born, should stay in their own corner innovating and forming the nucleus of our new think tank. Or is the general feeling more towards shock troops?
Rolled 47>>31692080It depends on what they were before they went crazy.I'm all for giving them a corner of the base/garages to make their own with the Mad Scientist serving as defacto faction leader though.
Rolled 62>>31691578>>31691661>>31691803I mean sure its not nice but that is just how things can end up also leads to some mighty interesting flavors of bandit where normally they are...really really dull and stereotypical. That shit doesn't fly or make sense everyone tends to focus on the raider mentality or insane sociopath...but ignores just about everything else.Makes for some damned boring shit while everyone else focuses on the 'good' groups. Sure 'nice' bandits are big exceptions but that doesn't mean they are all super evil for the 'lulz'. Many of them were dealt with a really fucking shitty hand and did what they had to. Hell despite all their depravity and evil they STILL have standards even the worst of them. Those with the highest standards tend to be the new guys aka usually outcasts.Anyway rant over. Yes i wont argue evil exists but if anyone thinks its evil just for the sake of being evil I can't tell you your gonna be wrong most the time. Evil for the sake of being evil isn't the most common form of evil>>31692080aw damn it you fuckers realized that they were a variant of the usual insane.
Rolled 6>>31692159Well with a description like "YOU GUYS ARE EVIL, WARNING WHITE KNIGHT CHOICES WILL BE VETOED" you're not going to get players doing a whole lot of "yeah, we're super evil but we're also kinda good guys."
>>31692159Actually, after this long, I wouldn't call many of the bandits we've seen stereotypical. In fact the opposite, we've seen a wide range of bandits.Sure, I mean, you did have the Skullfuckers and the Adero Bandits who you could call the stereotype "I WILL FUCK YOUR ASS THROUGH YOUR MOUTH" type,But then you've got the good guy bandit paramilitary factionThe pseudo rape god cultists bloodsnows with diplomancer capabilitiesThe friendly and cordial bandits from V101The accepting and brotherly outcasts from Grow corpThere's probably more I'm missing here.
Rolled 81>>31692346The Witches the Bloodsnows included in their number were pretty non-standard (if DEFINITELY EVIL) too.Hey, you guys want to play a Robot Bandits civ when we die? I'm so down for that.
>>31692434>RobotsMehhhhh, not in the mood for EXTREME IMPOSSIBLE MODE anytime soon.
Rolled 58>>31690930Production for Crazed vehicles and Mad Prints(kinda shit is hard as balls to make). Has been set up once we got the basic patterns we can churn out CRAZED variants.Special event engagedCrazies have bestowed upon us a blueprint...Acquired Screaming Watcher a vehicle type specializing with powerful detectors, sensors, and to the horror of many has a fuck ton of sonic weaponry. All of which are required upon it as typical of crazy tech its not uncommon for other shit to arise....Noted to be basically a giant floating 'eye' vehicle that can either roll around, bounce or even float.Screaming Watcher is a classic type of crazy vehicle. Denoting the madness of their members when it comes to being SPIED on and the VOICES. Channeled properly creates this crude type that is a true classic among Crazy forces.A party has commenced...MADNESS increase.Additional forces has been converted into the Insane. Well done yet again on the plusside shit was one crazy ass party and thus immensely awesome. So awesome in fact sanity damage was not only expected but encouraged.wtf you guys trying to do?According to Gunny its stealthy mind layer type meant to lay around all matter of clever mines while staying out of the way. Nothing much more beyond that as for improving it...that was something he debated over until having the brilliant idea of MORE EXPLOSIVES.SpecialGunny has refused to write it all on paper stating he no longer is an engineer anymore.>>31692283I installed that there for a reason because the cold hard fact is bandits are not by any means nice people or to be more precise those who are like that don't last long.>>31692346Exactly how I wanted it.>>31692434Robot bandits...the horror. You wouldn't believe how thankful i was no one realized a certain something about a little detail, because holy shit talk about an op combo.
Rolled 62>>31692453We'll put'm in a wasteland. Come on man, I know and share your misgivings about robots but they've got potential. Just look at all the robots we've seen/collected in our civs who did perfectly good for themselves.
>>31692434Oh god imagine robo-paramilitary
>>31692491>wtf you guys trying to do?I did warn em.I thought that party was meant to keep us sane though, not the opposite.
Rolled 3>>31692491>wtf you guys trying to do?Well no one can object to being insane if we're all insane, CAN THEY GENIE?Or if they make up like half our forces.
>>31692491The V101 bandits were nice.Smile and stab you in the back kind of bandits, but they were nice.
Rolled 46>>31692497No no, Robot+Bandit is more overpowered.Auto-Upgrade ourselves after every battle because of Bandit perk, No worries about the Bandit penalty of not being able to make our own supplies because we don't suffer the weaknesses of the flesh and need resources to reproduce anyway, also bonuses to looting for our gatherance of resources. To top that all of the stats themselves combine well.

Will using the boon help keep people in line?
Rolled 77>>31692619>We are sorta falling up into the sky.You guys want to set our mad scientist to fixing this?
>>31692619>Gravity has been reversed...so we are sorta falling up into the sky.Shit that's not good, what's going to happen when it turns back on again?Do we have any sort of thrusters or jets or hell even some canons we can aim at the sky? Or more preferably some anchors and winches to keep us tied to the ground. We need to cushion the suspension as best we can.
Rolled 60>>31692713We could try and set our jets and choppers to pulling us down and to the edge of the affected region. (hopefully it would taper off gradually).
Rolled 67>>31692746However if gravity has actually fully reversed itself and not just sorta deactivated with a slight reversion then them trying to tow the bases would be as ineffective as trying to drag them over a massive chasm with normal gravity using a few jets.
Rolled 20>>31692619...Goddamn it.Our forces have been caught floating inside the zone of madness while it ripples, shifts, and then disapears all the while we are floating upwards.Next thing we know we find ourselves getting spat out and sent crashing into a pile of...something. >>31692798No dammit genie, just because we think playing a civ might be cool doesn't mean we aren't interested in the one we're playing.ESPECIALLY considering all the things we're going to see if we don't end up falling out of the sky and dying upon impact

>>31693533Us using the madness didn't help. We still have the goverment boon to try for every one else. But that is a ... unsafe bet. We can try to roll with it or get them killed off some how.
Rolled 67>>31693557Say, would it be possible to get a secret meeting with Skeller?
>>31693557Not sure any more. I want to ask the people what they would like other than a bar or gym. Maybe a theader.
Rolled 5>>31693800"Yeah what do you want?"
Rolled 28>>31693880So were wondering your opinion on the crazies. We know that you and your guys are more than capable of taking us all down and conquering these bases if you felt like it...so we know you're not threatened by them or anything, but what is your opinion of them in a more general sense? You have any big beefs against working with them?
Rolled 84>>31693931"Crazies are hard to work with and a potent/unpredictable opponent. As for working with them...you sure you can pull that off?"
Rolled 100>>31694060Guys, feel free to veto this if you'd like.I'm sure you've noticed our morale problems of late. I was less concerned about us being able to works with them...and more about you'd be able to work with them. A lot of them.
Rolled 51>>31694114Everyone can see where I'm going, right? Our population is 40% crazies already...and we're in a zone of madness still...Skeller has the OBEY ability and we still have windows.
Rolled 47>>31694170Sorry, 20%
Rolled 2>>31694114>>31694211"...You want to go bandit? Insane ones at that? I can deal with that question is can you?Fuck that goddamn 100.
>>31694240We're not going to go bandit, Skeller! When did we say that? We'll still be good guys, just a bit more off our rockers than we used to be. Are crazies automatically bandits, or will people just assume that we're bandits?
Rolled 28>>31694279"so...bandits."Yes, they are almost always are thus why everyone assumes they are.
>>31694309"Um..yes I guess bandits..but not the faggy or rapey kind if that helps"
>>31694309Would our actions all have to be evil, would we be evil ourselves mandatorily?I'm relatively fine with being regarded as bandits (we're on the move so we won't be staying anywhere long enough to make any friends anyway) but if we actually become bandits and have to act evilly then I'm not okay with it.Honestly I'm surprised that people didn't considered us bandits/crazies when we announced our destination.
Rolled 29>>31694350"Uhuh not sure how well that will work out having a bunch of damn crazies.">>31694379Its because you didn't bear the usual markers of their kind.
>>31694396You didn't answer the OOC questions. (Which are fine because they deal with OOC issues).ARE crazies always rapey and shit? We wouldn't be content to stay among ourselves and play our The King in Yellow and stuff?
>>31694396"At this point I really don't know how to describe us as a whole, and I really could care less what other people want to call us. do you think it's safe to keep the crazies around?"
>>31694240"Who's saying we have to go bandit? We've got a base that harvests its own resources and a mad scientist culture that celebrates building cool shit. so long as we keep a small group of normals around to do the talking with other factions, we could do fairly well for ourselves, given what we have to work with".
>>31694444>>31694486Yeah, I want to be a NICE bunch of crazies. Imagine the plays we'll have the Natko Remnants write as propaganda for our cause! Imagine how much more potent everyone else will be!
>>31694532And fortunately, we have a small group of normals in the form of Skeller/Rizal and crew!
>>31694556They'll even be with us for the duration of the trip.
>>31694486Well, Genie did kind of compare how crazies are treated to how gays are treated. If we have the moral fortitude to work with the latter I don't see why we have to be biased against the former. How many people have really tried it anyway that we know if? I'm guessing not many. But I'd be against having crazies be the majority. I think there's a lot to be said for setting up a 'lab' area where the crazies go and do their crazy inventing and have a crazy culture that celebrates crazy, but have them not be too obvious to the other factions we meet. Crazy can be exhausting to maintain after all, and despite what a lot of people think people do default to sanity. 20% crazy think tank, 80% sensible builders, soldiers and diplomats, seems like an ideal build to me. And let people move between the two when they've had enough of one culture, so that it stays a smartie crazy lab for the touched, while if you want sanity and structure you can come to the rest of the base and follow orders.
>>31694710No no, see. It's all or nothing. Either we all go Crazy except for Skeller+Crew, or our civilization self destructs itself from infighting.I guess we could try booting the crazies out, but I feel that's just as likely to cause us to self destruct. That's the way it's going to go.
Rolled 20>>31694444Crazies are fucking INSANE so it varies...but yeah.>>31694532The insane tend to be rather obvious.>>31694536eh...that could work. A group of insanely nice people...not sure how you can pull of that kind of crazy.Bandits Above AverageFaction Density LowMonsters lowZombies CRITICALREDACTED Extremely High>>31694768>>31694710There is a reason why civs kick the crazies out.
>>31694629>>31694536>>31694532"Oy I gots un idea! Ows about we take all dem loony's and gib em their own bus, or ratha a "Crazy Train"?
>>31694710I forgot to add: let the crazies test their new vehicles before handing them over to the normals. This will not only weed out the unlucky ones, but it will get them out of the base regularly. Trying to cage crazy seems like a bad idea.
>>31694800Still strains faction relations, whereas converting to entirely crazies means morale problems are pretty solved (they may be crazy, but they know they have to stick together).Isn't anyone interested in seeing what Crazy Cultists, and Crazy Survivors can pull off/do?If not, I can't think of any way to save this civ from its impending doom.
>>31694795OH SHIT!!!! You guys are starving and don't have any rubber duckies! Take these 2 RESOURCES worth of rubber duckies! And some food/water and medical treatment too.
>>31694876Rather, come back a turn later and give them the rubber duckies. All while blaring Norwegian Deathmetal. Then we follow them in secret...and when they're in trouble we save the shit out of them.
>>31694768Do we know that though? I mean it's being hinted but we weren't exactly cohesive to begin with. And again, if we go all crazy I think we're likely to burn ourselves out or rely on crazy.Just suppose we partition the base as follows: A lab area with 'crazy' rules of conduct (AKA anarchy) and the rest of the base with 'sane' rules of conduct (AKA paramilitary command structure). What would you see being the major source of conflict?
>>31694974The problem I see with crazies is that they might freak out when we are trying to do delicate work like diplomacy or using stealth tactics, but seeing as there is an unknown mad scientist in their ranks I would just use them the same way we would use the think tank we wanted. Firstly we need to identify the mad scientist, then have him train all the crazies to be his assistants/test subjects/whatever.
>>31694974You can give it a shot if you like, I'll start trying to come up with fluff for those bandit-robots.
>>31694859The metagame problem I have with that idea is, can we actually think up things for them to do that won't get us killed? Crazy is fun, but I don't see it as being sustainable. Here's how I think of it: we're a bunch of cave people with an ember. We've seen some of what fire can do but we don't really understand it. We have three choices:>1. snuff it>2. feed it everything we have on hand>3. feed it a little while we try to understand it better. I vote for option 3.
>>31695145Suit yourself, it might even work...but if it doesn't I won't have a clue how to fix it.
>>31695096That's exactly what I was thinking - use them as a think tank. A very dangerous think tank.I feel like this is where genie got his name - we wished for a think tank and we got one. It just isn't at all what we were expecting.
Rolled 12>>31695168Me neither! Fun isn't it?So I suggest the following:>Basic 1: Set up a CRAZY labThe five rules of the lab:1. The crazier person is always right2. The crazier person is not always the louder person3. If you built it, you're the first to use it4. If you leave the lab, leave your crazy behind for someone else to use.5. Be nice to the normals
Rolled 7>>31695257Heh my name was originally something my players called me a most fitting tital so to speak. It amused me and I realized it would make a good warning/name while doing my thing. Unless i need to I prefer going anon or namefag that fits.Anyway what is consensus nad don't forget to look at the regional stats I posted.
>>31695424I am so sorry guys
>>31695424Eh, not so much fun when the fate of a civ with a destination like we have in mind is at stake. All the sights we would see...
>>31695495I'm not gonna argue though, because going full crazy is possibly as dangerous as trying to tiptoe our way through with the crazies. Really though, you'll want to call the meeting you suggested at the start of the thread ASAP. Don't think you can let this problem lie, it's going to get much worse every turn..
>>31695424Maybe we can suggest that the "forbidden knowledge" cult try and "save" the crazies
Rolled 19>>31695495I would definitely like to see them too... what if we kept that madness mojo on hand in case it looked like we did need to convert wholesale? or had gunny rig it to aerosolize through the air vents where skeller can dose us all if it looks like the only way to prevent civil war?>>31695551That's an excellent point. And I suggest we don't dawdle here, this place is crawling with zombies. What do you guys think of >Basic 1: scout the area and try to find a safe path through the hordes/bandits>Basic 2: meeting of leaders to discuss issues factions have with one another and how they can be resolved>Basic 3: Set up crazy think tank area so sane and non-sane factions can stay out of each other's way as much as possible
Rolled 16Waiting for consensus...
>>31695096heh. I imagine this must be how you felt at the end of the splicer arc.
>>31696058Who said this is it for the gear heads? I like randomness and madness in my civs. I would rather vote on something awesome than something smart ANY day.
Rolled 8>>31696234Then you'll end up with something like the Bloodsnows.
Rolled 16>>31696260or the splicers again come to think of it.
I guess my suggestion isn't actually that popular, and tbh I'm not looking forward to the I told you so's... any other ideas? >>31695551I'd support the all crazy plan if you're still for it after hearing my doubts...
>>31696234I don't think this is it for gearheads, but I keep coming up with cool but risky plans and rolling terribly in support of them ;_;
Rolled 22>>31695735I really don't like that action 3. . .but even if segregating might make the problem worse by a degree, the sane will at least be spared.Vote.
>>31696373Notice how I have stopped making plans entirely and am just throwing suggestions? Please Just be careful with your dice, I know there is all of 6 of us here, and it's just a game, but killing a civ sucks. Feels bad man.
>>31695735I'm cool with this. I mean who says crazies can't be good. Also during the meeting let's talk about allowing all people, gay or other wise, to join in. Let people be people. They will help all the same
>>31696467Yeah I wasn't sure about that one... maybe replace it with a double action on the meeting to increase chances of success? How to deal with crazy/normal dynamics could be one of the topics for discussion there. We can always build a normal lab later and see who gravitates towards it, resources is one thing we have.
>>31696468For what it's worth, your plan was awesome and I don't blame you in the least for trying to capitalize on a temporary advantage.
Rolled 5>>31695735Finally....well we found a way to avoid everything BUT the zombies and even then the zombies are super dense...which is a good thing or should be one anyway.A meeting has been declared between the different factions...including a crazy who appears to be having a philosophical conversation with a rubber ducky involving baths, dicks, and rivets...yeah its a weird one.The 'think tank' area has been established to sperate the sane and not so sane. >>31696744I knew I shouldn't have put dice. I knew it would get voted down and reworked. Honestly that post was meant to be a joke, an ironic way of saying that we could have done more with the bonus. Boy did that backfire.
>>31696785Make sure to give the think tank some resources. Maybe a hover apc or something. Got to put some toys in the daycare center...
>>31696842On that note, now that we're out of the madness blowout place, we should be using the harvester feature on this mech pretty much by default. The only downside to using it seems to be a slight reduction in speed. We could give the lab whatever it churns out and tell the madboys to go nuts. Since it seems to put out pretty much random stuff the results should be... interesting.
Rolled 85>>31696468if one does suggestions one needs to not attach dice. It used to be in the beginning all you had to do was remember to include A. listed action(s) with dice or it wouldn't count otherwise but players ended up changing that around. As they wanted proposals without the other A. or D. declaration for whatever reason. Thus it changed.>>31696785NEWSLooks like just about everyone has taken notice of us by now and its not pretty. For whatever the monsters are sniffing around, the bandits are coming here, and seems like the other factions are taking notice. Most strangely of all the zombies are staying out of it.
>>31697024"Elton, you ever see anything like this before?"
Rolled 44>>31697063"Nope if I had to guess its because we interupted the balance though I doubt the Zone of Madness helped much but it seems to be on the way out."
>>31696785Do we RP this? >>31697087"Well, I suggest we boogie. If you know the basic direction we're heading for, I'd say we head that way. I'd love to use that harvester, but maybe we shouldn't advertise that we have one right now...."
>>31696992We are on a sightseeing tour, speed isn't all that important, we just have to enjoy the ride. Think about it, we have gotten to see a THE GRAND BATTLE ROYAL(new name for it, open to suggestions) between all of the most powerful known beings on the planet, we got to chill with the legendary party animal General Viczar, who hooked us up with some of the most badass mobile bases we have ever seen, we picked up a bunch of hitchhikers and two especially bad ass ones, had to run from some pissed off plant dudes, sucked, but we made a lot of bros by going through it together, then we ended up in a crazy ass place that tripped out half our crew, told gravity to fuck itself and launched us over into now. Also when we were tripping we made the best scouting vehicle I have ever heard of, hope we don't forget about that.
Rolled 76Get out AND use the minelayer to discourage pursuit.
>>31697087"Why would there be a balance in a zone of madness?"Or did we paradoxicalyl create a balance, thereby causing net imbalance.
>>31697299Disregard the speed not being important part. I think we may have landed in a more "ethnic" neighborhood
>>31697299That is true. I had kind of forgotten what incredible shit disturbers we are. We pretty much directly caused that giant battle right when our civilization was first starting out. We caused another huge battle because we wanted to see what was hanging around what we thought was an abandoned hydroponics facility we wanted to loot. It's unlikely anyone will ever know the chaos we caused, but we've directly had a pretty major impact on the future of this world.
>>31697441You could say, we move the gears around here. We're like, Umbra, causing shit under the other factions noses, except completely oblivious to the fact.
>>31697441Viczar and Elton know, if we complete our mission survive long enough to hook back up with our Legendary General then we are basically assured "total badass" reputation.
>>31697441Then again, it might now necessarily be us.remember we're in a PALADIN base.
>>31697425I think we should be aiming more for tortoise than hare all the same. We do have a shell after all, we won't be winning any sprints without redlining anyway. I'd be for using the harvester as we go, like "You gonna stop me? You look too smart to try that"
Rolled 2>>31697246Yeah you got a rep there after all.
Rolled 96>>31697576That actually explains a lot
>>31697576We covered up all of the paladin stuff last thread.
>>31697627Yeah, but you know, paladins just naturally attract danger. They're like living mini-crystal machines.
Rolled 17>>31697646I have no idea where you got that idea from...
>>31697693You actually. You stated paladins tend to attract evil in so much much as they get rid of it, and get into fights very very often.
>>31697601We would need Elton to do that>>31697608Do we actively control(can make plans using) Elton? How about Rizal?
>>31697608Meeting RP! I was looking forward to this. Hope Silvertogue's been lurking...>"All right, I guess I'll start. The religious factions need to work out a way not to pray over one another. Now I'm not pointing any fingers (Ahemdawnbringers!) but some people have been invoking their deity where it's impossible for the rest of us to ignore, and the kami I sing to don't like that kind of ostentation. I bet mr. Ducky doesn't either, do you mr ducky?">Quack>"There you have it. I can appreciate a god liking his ego stroked, but surely the rest of us don't need to be involuntary voyeurs to your relationship"
>>31697816The impression I got is that we can make suggestions but he's ultimately controlled by Genie.
Rolled 12>>31697774Ah thought i had meant they sought it out and did battle. Problem is your gonna make enemies but its rare for someone to do the attacking instead of being on the defense. Paladins are the good guys/white knights who actually manage to survive. Your average paly to give an idea of power is equivalent to a bandit Ravager. They do of course have support personnel and initiates but for the most part they are expected to prove themselves BEFORE trying to enlist and THAT only gets your foot in the door. Those who go after paladins instead of the other way around are quite rare. At the point that someone reaches paladinhood its not typically worth being on the offensive against them. Better of going for oppertunities and defense.Really what i meant with that was it is a popular misconception due to how paladins are always in the thick of things people belief they take it with them. Truth is that is not true and what does follows them is not nearly as bad as what they focus on.>>31697816At the moment the one representing those interests is a super soldier and bioborg. Elton and Rizal are elsewhere.>>31698046You have yet to prove yourselves once that happens you will get control.
>>31697911RP time! Hail the now-aware-of-us bandit factions."Oy! Any a ya faggots got any funky pimped out bandit vech's for sale?"
>>31698104It's not that evil goes out and seeks to hunt them down, it's that they aggravate and attract evil and there's a difference. Like you said, they usually do the attacking, enemies who are bound to fight back.Evil doesn't stalk them, but they actively go and get in the thick of it anyway, and lord help whoever is nearby. In Adero for instance, one single sword blow was all it took to unleash all holy hell and everything around it.Paladins are like guys who go and kick bees nests, they often attract bees. Not as if the bee's actively try to hunt them, but still.
>>31698104I would assume that the super solder and bioborg have names right? We need to get out officers in order, honestly the only one I remember is "big" the midget pilot.
>>31698181Ooh, I like dis.
>>31698282And you don't want to be around a bunch of guys who go and kick bees nests

>>31698576"Joking is fine but don't be mean. He is a great pilot."
>>31698609"Fair enough, I won't tease him about the size of the guns on his tank nor will I question wether or not he is compensating for anything"
>>31698656You'd better not, he seems like he's got a short fuse
>>31698366On a more serious note. We need to disable the crazies com system. NOW.
Why is everyone so peeved at the crazies? They just drove off a horde or three of bandits all on their own.I'd throw them a party or give them a reseaource point. Maybe the Crazies can actually become a unifying point for all of us, because they're equally distant in beliefs from all the factions. That waay everyone can complain about them, and it gives the rest of us common ground to stand on.pRovided they remain useful (or we cultivate a culture where we're responsible for taking care of them ) they might actually be a constructive part of morale.p
I was thinking. What if gunny's wife went to go find us more tanks and what not. From our fluff we found this place. Which belonged to the gears. We even found gunny here sleeping. For all we know the gears had a think tank working with them for R&D. Maybe even a mega crop for building the vehicles. I was thinking as more fluff for us the think tank could be called Cog. They were set up to come up with ideas and better weapons for a vehicle specialized unit called gears. Gunny's wife works with them, because she is still a engineer. Gunny use to be one but got kicked out and moved to gears. So he could keep working with what we loves. As well as add here and there to them. So after our ragtag group shows up. They were not sure if we could be trusted so they waited. Even had gunny chill and work with us. But after the fortress. Gunny's' wife did a coin flip with him to see who goes back to gets some upgrades and new works for us. Now that we shown we can hold our own. Any thoughts ?
>>31698832Oh waaaiiiiit>fleeingI thought they were COMING at us.Actually, hell yeah, go crazies!we still want to draw a fine line though, what if they didn't run away?
>>31698832Wow..that's..kinda valid. I think we need to play up our ability to intimidate (possibly have Elton teach us) so that even though we won't be liked, nobody will touch us with a 10 foot pole.
Rolled 46>>31698832They had vehicles like rubber ducks.RUBBER DUCK BANDIT VEHICLES!Now we'll never get to see what they are like ;_;
>>31698832I can get behind giving them a resource point or three. I notice we have blueprints for some pretty neat vehicles that haven't been built yet, if they'd like to do the prototypes that would be cool. Of course, we're more likely to get a giant scary rubber duck. But that is not something I would dislike.
Rolled 94>>31698867Think your getting his wife confused with his sister anon.>>31698932>Not believing in the magic that is insanity.
>>31698932Where I do like the hermit crab motif. Rubber duckies are charming as fuck
>>31698998Yeah. But she did do the coin flip if i remember right. The sisters could be the one working for cog and his wife could be off trying to aid us in some way.
>>31698932there there don't cry... we'll make our own rubber duck bandit vehicles, and they'll be SO much cooler than the ones that ran away from us.I don't know where this theme of rubber ducks came from, but I like it. We could make a burrowing vehicle that can stealth attack from underneath the ground, and is foreshadowed above ground by a giant rubber duck. Eventually we'll just need to display a duck and everyone will flee in terror.
>>31699078sister* or he could have more.
>>31699078could be one of them had to do merc work for viczar. We did lose very little population in exchange for these bases, it makes sense a hero left as part of the deal.
On that note, who else Doesn't want to be here when they eventually DO come back with badass rubber duck bandit vehicles meant for us>"goddam crazies, they want rubber duckies eh. We'll show em"
Rolled 59>>31699099The fact he even had a sister caught many off guard and lets not go into his wife. Many STILL can't believe that actually happened.>>31699142His wife is the one who stayed behind along with those other troops. Still waiting for someone to figure out who his wife is.
>>31699142True. Main thing was trying to fluff the gears up more. >>31698998Just in case we needed to do this. Till every one what gunny said about the hydroponics "that one doesn't tamper with the valves and only plucks the harvests on weekends during the day or week days at night." Maybe even time lock the doors. But can be overridden by gunny.
>>31699220tell*>>31699188Was she the one in the jeep?
>>31699088In the short term, we can tell the crazies that "enemy" has a box of perfectly good rubber duckies and are going to destroy them unless we can stop them, if only there was a mad scientist that could cook up bad ass vehicles that could get us there faster, or we may be too late.
>>31699283I like that idea.Maybe some kind of shredder vehcile so even a few of our guys are capable of tearing into their base
>>31699151It will be a rubber duck arms race, with both sides trying to make the scariest rubber duck themed vehicles to make the other side give up their own rubber ducks. Eventually it won't even be about the rubber ducks, but about proving a point. And with every over the top rubber duck that appears on the horizon, our mutual respect for each other will grow. When we finally reach the memor swamp and find ourselves at loose ends, the bandits will appear in a giant trojan duck and ask to join forces.
>>31699395As long as they have cookies I'm up for a trojan duck.
>>31699358I'd like to use our resource points to make some of these vehicles happen. We have plans for a sonic weapon hamster ball and ideas for a giant shredder wheel. Would you guys be up for using our resources build at least one of each of these things?
>>31699462I'd be up for it.
>>31699188Now why do I automatically think she's a brood queen?
>>31699188Is it Chief Pilot Enders?
Rolled 22>>31699283What enemy? There are monsters encroaching on us, and maybe a few factions too. >>31699462I'm all down for giving the Crazies some resources so they can execute more of their MAD PRINTS. They only just barely got started setting up production for one type.>Basic 1Give the Crazies some resources and tell them to keep on with that production of MAD PRINT shit.>Basic 2Assess the forces that are still encroaching on us using our Shades.>Basic 3Have the non-crazy Gerz continue work on some of our equipment so that we can make vehicles from scratch (and our parts) instead of having to refurbish wrecks.
So what's the plan of action guys? I hear ideas to tempt our crazies to figure out a plan not let the duckies get away and spend a few resources on vehiclesAlso are we moving again? I'd hate to think we've just been sitting here this whole time
Rolled 47>>31699615no. To be fair though its not as if name has been spoken though she has done some rather big stuff.>>31699551I don't know anon...

Rolled 74>>31699680I'm fine leaving well enough alone and not pursuing the fleeing guys. (why pick a fight when they're not interested in one? Also, chasing them risks giving away the fact that we're mostly not crazy and so makes us a target.)
>>31699752I meant, like, out of the plains of madness and the random warp rifts. Hopefully also avoiding the monsters and things.
>>31699672Should we have the people keep talking with each other?>meeting of leaders to discuss issues factions have with one another and how they can be resolved
Rolled 79>>31699672Voting, but I'd word it like this:>Basic 1Give the Crazies some resources and tell them to keep on with that production of MAD PRINT shit.>Basic 2improve production facilities with the aim of being able to produce whatever vehicles come out of the 'lab'>Basic 3: Keep a careful lookout for approaching danger as we move across the landscape.
>>31699810If we do this maybe have 3 get aided by Crusader Rhothru, He has been here before. If i remember right.
>>31699787I'd like to and I have some ideas of what might be said, but I'm not sure who all it's ok to speak for. There are a LOT of factions present. Do we only speak for Gunny, while Genie talks for everyone else? We'd kind of have to play straight man in that case...
Rolled 37>>31699787Beats me. Might be beneficial, as they try to outdo each other, might not be beneficial. Who knows?
>>31699856Oh, true... and what would you guys think of using the 'harvest' ability while we're moving? Good idea/too risky/dickish to steal all the topsoil?

>>31699857Yeah. We could be the crazies and talk about making rubber duck wine. >>31699878With the zombies around probably to risky.

>>31699905Ooh, we could play the absolutely no nonsense gunny and the absolutely pure nonsense mad scientist's lackey with guide responding for the others who are just wondering what the hell they did to end up here.

>>31700276Any ideas for dealing with the monster horde that was so dense it nearly took down one of our Shades then?
>>31700073Well, we've got a mine layer and a good idea of where that monster horde is approaching from. I'd say the obvious course of action is to put down some mines to slow down pursuit. With fireworks, of course. I'm not sure whether the crazies just need the right motivation. I'd kind of like to try saying "You know those bandits that are going back to get their ducks? I bet they'll make fun of us if our ducks aren't a lot better. Do you think you can make a kickass duck that we can ride around in and show off how much cooler than everyone else we are? Does any on know what Cuzthians or Sulcha Kulbe are investigating? I don't remember if we asked.
So we've got nothing to fight them with.Nothing to slow them down with.Methinks it's time to go.Away.From here.
>>31700787Nah, they never told us. Just "peculiar matters" and "something" respectively.
>>31700410Ah, too bad I missed my cue. I kind athought the bringers of Morning would start, seeing as they're the unhappiest. Maybe Gunny was able to offer some parting words, now that I can imagine the setting a bit better:"Well, we've all got our reasons for going where we're going, and we've all got an interest in getting there in one piece. It looks like we're not ready to share what they are yet, and that'll have to do for now.One thing we should keep in mind is that while everyone's guaranteed to get pissed at someone, we're also guaranteed to have someone who had nothing to do with it. So the next time someone dings one of my vehicles I'm telling someone who didn't" - he shoots Elton a meaningful look - "And they can tell me whether I'm being a crybaby or whether I'm owed a new vehicle. If my snoring bothers you I suggest you all do the same. That's all for me. We gotta bring booze the next time we try this..."
>>31700764"Fair. Thought i would ask. You guys do like the good stuff after all."(grez)"Ah. I'm sorry for being ignorant of your ways then. Would you be willing to tell us?" (Believers) "Care to tell us of your governing style?" (Natko)Random note I feel we should do something for the remaining Azar band they took a beating for us.>>31700844I guess we should ask then.>>31700764"Cuzthians state, We have been with each other for a while now. Would you be willing to tell us of the matters you would like to investigate?" "Sulcha Kulbe, I would like to ask the same of you. If you are willing to talk."
Rolled 98>>31700924>BelieversOurs ways is simple to bring the morning is what we wish just as our prophet once said oh so long ago.>NatkoWe believe in the might of a single figure and a united nation a people so to say. >>31700983Worthy goals all. If you'll all answer one more question, what will you not tolerate among your allies?
>>31700983A pity none of us are Memor representatives. They believed in the single unified state with a single mind, and they were one of the indirect factors of the Ghoulish Krusade
>>31700983"May I ask how you would like to go about bring the morning?" (Believers)"I can agree, A single figure can go a long way. But your people still live with your group, With us. Together we can help find a new homeland and rebuild. If you are willing that is." (natko)""Fair. I heard stores i would like to see if they are true. Lets hope we find what we are looking for then." (Cuzthians)"Will you tell us what sustanance you would like perhaps? Tea, coffee, Beer or Wine. Maye beef, chicken or duck." (Sulcha Kulbe)
>>31701117...That were pretty much THE DIRECT FACTOR of the Ghoulish Krulsade. Getting all those bandits and shit united against us under Warlord Slag is what set it all off.
>>31701136sustenance you would*>>31701165Maybe the natko are a group from them.
>>31701192From the Memor? No way.
>>31701205Way not? People hide with in us all the time. Why would this be different.
>>31701223Everyone associated with the Memor has been being viciously hunted by Warlord Slag for decades, or was wiped out in the Last Stand, or was taken with Clora Zel to Fleshworks HQ.
>>31701244Why not have hope. Maybe some still made it. Small groups, But some still could have made it.
>>31701281God, I hope none made it out. The Memor were chillingly evil.Except the Tectus. If some Tectus made it out and then went Tribal or something I'd be okay with that.
>>31701311Have you never played overlord. Evil Always Finds a Way.
>>31701244>Everyone associated with the Memor has been being viciously hunted by Warlord Slag for decadesWat. How did I miss this. Why did he do that?>>31701311All the Memor were the same and shared one mind, except the Heroes. The Tectus were just as evil/good as the actual Memor, the Strongarms, the Octo, ect.One Memor, one Mind, one thought.I would imagine the Tectus even retained the hivemind itself, albeit in a lesser form without the prophet or actual original Memor.
>>31701344I haven't, actually.
>>31701372>>31701244uh...how much time HAS passed in game anyway?
>>31701374Fair. It's a good game if you like minions.
>>31701372He swore an eternal grudge oath against the Memor for us...you know, Tchaikovskying his bandits.I know, but i like the Tectus...that aside, they weren't 'that' psychic. Allow me my dream that some of the ones that 'died' on a scouting run actually just split off because they were appalled at the Memor. And if you allow me that dream then I might actually be able to write fluff that'd let us play as a group of them.>>3170138710 years from the Memor to V101. This is a good time post-V101, soooo who knows?
>>31701372I wonder if Clora's Memor continue to survive with their own segregated hivemind as well. Unless she just slowly phased them out through natural deaths and used their flesh for more fleshbeasts.
>>31701420A Memor mutant was spotted at the GREAT CLUSTERFUCK OOT (Of Our Time). So Clora kept them. According the Jenny though the Hivemind is not what it used to be. Clora is a singular, overriding voice in it.
>>31701415Well, it always bothered how even with a damned hivemind we had people die without a clue as to what happened. Snuffed out like candles simultaneously by the droves.
Rolled 19>>31701407I fucking loved Overlord. Second one was disappointing though and don't get me started on the Wii one. Sure the tropes it made fun of was fucking hysterical but goddamn was it too short.>>31701387From the Fall of the Memor...lets see here you had Aduro which was like half a year, but there was a time skip involved.Ah fuck it from the start of the Ghoulish Krulsade to its ending was almost a decade Mourning Day was a few years ago which ended it. Rizal's age to put it into perspective is around 10 years or so. Other civs tended to not last very long time wise. >>31701458It had a weaknesses that were exploited.>>31701372You stabbed him in the back and he has since held a grudge.Put simply he wants to commit genocide on the Memor.
Alright, so back to incoming monster horde.Anyone have a semblance of an action plan? Or do we have any more inquiries that might lead to promising information from our refugees?
>>31701492Any replies for these >>31701078 , >>31701136>>31701619Hm. Not sure what to do for actions. We probably got to fight a bit. We got zombies that are not hostile, yet. Bandits that ran and monsters coming our way. Maybe could ask skeller to obey some of the zombies to help fight. Make use of the mine layer and probably keep on the move.
>>31701649Right, a few more questions.>>31701492Ask our refugess what is their "no-go" line concerning things they won't tolerate.as well as >>31701136
>>31701078...Depends though to put it simply it would have to be interfering with our missions.>>31701136The night is always darkest before the Dawn we bring about that dawn."We shall see.""Who knows what we shall find if anything at all.""We are not picky.">>31701691Beyond their own goals they would not like going bandit and are rather miffed at having crazies in their presence.
Rolled 54>>31701702arg name dropped again.
>>31701649Sounds like a plan.Lure the zombies in as a buffer, as well as mine the path behind us, to keep the monsters away and make good our escape. Now to turn it into action format and apply appropriate groups and heroes.
Basic 1: Gunny fire work some bombs to hit flying targets. Plan paths and use the mine layer. Get Flabu the Earnest to aid with bombs. Fire should do great on the enemy. (maybe make this a double action.)basic 2: Ready all long range weapons to fire at the monsters incoming and fall back to switch out for close range if any get on bored or zombies. Use tanks if they will fit well. Officer Borha , Crusader Rhothru, Soldier Jeniece and Ulmesu will help man and order the defense.Start moving the base as needed. Should we make the last action scouting with shades and Checho the 'Big' ?
>>31701702cool got a word out of the Sulcha Kulbe."Mr.skeller, sorry to intrude, would you be willing to aid in the defense of the base. Maybe move some of the zombies to attack the monsters? Your friends are welcome to join in if they would like."
Rolled 52>>31701837"Those zombies are CRITICAL I would ignore everything else and GTFO. As is its disturbing as hell they haven't reacted and I know for fact that even I would have problems with them. Monsters are not a threat compared to the zombies."
Rolled 93>>31701767I could get behind that, and yes scouting is always an option.Vote
>>31701918Actually, in light of that, I'm gonna call back >>31701918Instead I'm going to suggestBasic 1 Checho and the Big scout out a pathway that will allow us to get away from the monsters and more importantly avoid the zombies as much as possibleBasic 2 prepare our weapons to fire in case they overtake us as we try to escape, but don't fire until it's evident they areBasic 3 Prepare and/or get moving.
Rolled 72>>31701917All right with the new info.Basic 1: Get the fuck out. Have Crusader Rhothru aid with what he knows of the land. basic 2: Ready all long range weapons to fire at the monsters incoming and fall back to switch out for close range if any get on bored or zombies. Use tanks if they will fit well. Officer Borha , Crusader Rhothru, Soldier Jeniece and Ulmesu will help man and order the defense.Basic 3: Scout a head on our way to the castle with shades and >Checho the 'Big'
Rolled 22>>31701964Voting this, but on the premise that basic 2 every precaution be taken to not get the monsters or zombies to attack us as long as possible
>>31701964Forgot to remove Crusader Rhothru for basic 2. >>31701991Agreed. But still not so close that the monsters are right on top of us. I want to kill as many as we can before they can hit us.
Rolled 22>>31701964ooh, actions. Alright, let's do this thing
>>31702060Well that could have been cool. Seeing what two 22's could do.
Rolled 54>>31701964We are on the moving exiting...or trying to zombies are literally everywhere. We can see the partial remains of a megacity being completely overtaken by Hives. Along the nearby mountains lay industrial areas still spewing forth their vile works including zombies. The entire land is quite dark but unlike before there IS light and thus color...just enough to high light how bad everything is. Contagion levels are critical and there are so many contaminants its impossible for our systems to register it all. In the distance though we can see the water."Ah yes the lost city of Neluz once upon a time this place was on its way to becoming a mega city then the Fall happened though that alone would explain the massive number of zombies. I just hope we don't accidentally rile them up more so then we already have."As we climb down the hills away from both the belching former industrial areas and the urban setting. Is when something peculiar happened as the monsters approached near the industry is when suddenly the zombies took action. Belching forth they rose an an unstoppable tide...as suddenly previously dead 'hulks' of vehicles came to live and begun to open fire."Oh shit. They woke up after all in fact they thought to use us bait which means-" began Rhothru as he looked towards the city. "Just as I thought their coming up but heading our way as well. Whatever you do it may not be obvious right now but they also lay below and in great number. Soon they will erupt forth from below as well. If you think the skies are wrong then you are a fool these bastards are more then happy to hurl themselves across the stars by force if need be and care not if they survive. As long as we can stay in the mobile bases they wont have nearly such an easy time slowing us down even from below. However if we go outside in our vehicles I can promise you that IF they make it back at all it will be as one them. Anyway you see that pennisula over there? That is safe."
Rolled 92>>31702177Scouts have been sent out to check out the way ahead to the 'safe' area. Sure enough it there was a great wall separating the peninsula from the mainland. We would have to cross a great bridge, risk a chasm, or go across the water. After that its a little ways there. Beyond the gates seems to lurk much light, structures, and at the tip of the peninsula stands a massive lighthouse.Zombies are on their way towards us.Battle has been joined between the zombies and monsters.>>>Turn 28>>>>>>>>A.
