For House & Dominion: Home Front Questhttp://houseanddominion.wikia.com/wiki/HouseAndDominion_Wikihttp://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=House%20and%20DominionYou are Sonia Reynard, Attack Wing Leader and Knight of the House of Jerik-Dremine! While you directly command the Third Attack Wing, the newer Fifth Attack Wing lead by Daska Rna also falls under your leadership. Both are elite units of the House, composed of fast hard hitting Cruisers, Frigates and Corvettes. After 6 months deployed in Shallan space and the Pandora cluster you are returning home. Relief units from the House have arrived to take your place and help hold the line. You've lost some people but you've also met new allies. Overall you hope that the contribution your people have made will make a difference in the long run.The Wing's repair and salvage barge has been handed over to the other House units along with the Marauder. Starships on loan from the Factions Alliance not bought out by the House have been returned and crews are being shuffled to provide transport for everyone. Refueling and resupply will take a few more days as ships leaving the front have less of a priority than those headed towards it.While you have the time you decide to contact the Terran AI Versa as there is some information she might be able to help you find. "My communications and off ship influence are now being traced." Versa informs you. "I may be able to help you, but more than one request would be dangerous. The Captain knows about my attempts to divert funds from criminal elements to the war effort but has chosen to ignore it for now."Do you wish to help the South Reach League's search for personnel transfer records or try to find Recon Power Armor that could be bought or acquired by other means?
>>31492284FOR HOUSE AND DOMINION!I would say it's time to help the South Reach League in searching for the personnel transfer records. What choice won for it anyway? I was partial to the sneaking mission myself.
>>31492284South Reach League's search for personnel transfer recordsWhile power armor would be nice I think it would be a better long term goal to deal with the SRL both for ourselfs, the House and the war effort as a whole.Also.FOR HOUSE AND DOMINION!
>>31492348>What choice won for it anyway? I was partial to the sneaking mission myself.Votes wereCall in some favours: 2Ask Versa: 4Recon Power Armor mission to steal allied records: 2Updates from abroad. The refugee housing project on Tourta is progressing at a steady pace. Your business partners on Surakeh are able to have 1 block completed every 4 days thanks to staggered production. Currently Zone 4, Aka Site 1, has 45 buildings completed, 40 of which are now occupied. Construction of foundations for 38 more buildings at the site are underway with completion estimated at 5 months time.Planning has begun on Zone 6 or Site 2 with some funding already secured from the Governors of Tourta and Surakeh with additional relief funds provided by the House. In Zone 5 Aries has begun construction of the foundations of a factory with engineers now working to reinforce the surrounding hillsides. Mr London has a man keeping an eye on things to make sure any changes they make don't just divert landslides into the refugee housing sites. >Any news on how that criminal organization we robbed is doing? They starting to ask questions? The Triads figured out within a month of the robbery that their stolen cash had been given to a Shallan relief fund. They also traced the rest to the dead drop but were unable to follow it further. There are signs that they've been looking into the Terran Military by using bribes to see if they had any involvement.House intel reports that Triad activity within Dominion space is on the rise with increasing attempts to secure a foothold. Some cells are attempting to infiltrate via the conquered South Reach territories Should that happen gang warfare is expected to either explode into a long drawn out conflict, or suffer a short burst followed by peace agreements with local gangs once the Triads have proven they cant be disposed of easily. If successful its not out of the question that they might learn of your involvement within a decade.
>>31492284>Do you wish to help the South Reach League's search for personnel transfer records or try to find Recon Power Armor that could be bought or acquired by other means? The South Reach things is the bigger problem right now, unfortunately.
Well if Versa can't help us with the South Reach stuff maybe she can fish around and see if there is power armour for sale? That shouldn't get her into trouble. Our first set of Recon armour was granted from a favour, do we have any of those laying around? That isn't top priority though, we should focus on the SRL stuff. If Versa can't help us out maybe the Errant Knights can do some poking around on the Dominion side of things? For Alliance records we are kind of on our own.And we should stamp our the Triad problem at some point before it grows bigger. Shouldn't be too hard to convince the locals that they don't want them as neighbours. Plus the planetary governor can always call down the military on their asses.Oh and where is our evacuation transport?
>>31492284FOR HOUSE AND DOMINIONI FORGOT IT WAS TUESDAY EDITION
>>31492599I do believe we should share with all the nobles who want to hear how bad it would be to let organized crime into our territory. >>31493479As crude as the Dominion is I do think there is law's against deploying military against civilians. Even if it would make for an interesting sight seeing Triad underlings trying to fight off tanks, Fighters and power armored kill squads.
>>31492284>Do you wish to help the South Reach League's search for personnel transfer recordsAsk our Baron before doing anything about it. This is a political minefield.
Sorry for the delay, there were some last minute calculations for the RSS revenue stream. Good news! You guys have way more money than I thought you would. Bad news, you'll need to pay taxes on some of it even with the donations you've made. Yes there's that much.Company assets before Bonds and the deductions related to the Ancorage are 1.5 billion. So most of the plans I had to bleed RSS to death are now more or less irrelevant.>>31492348>>31492495>>31493050>>31493479Versa promises to look into the personnel issue and will send you the data once she's had time to look into it without causing too much more trouble. There is an odd flicker when the transmission ends.>Our first set of Recon armour was granted from a favour, do we have any of those laying around?Yes actually you do. You recovered enough Rovinar ships that you payed back the assistance of storing your salvage at the Rovinar base and moving the Medium cruiser with plenty to spare. You also still have a Rovinar battleship in the RSS salvage inventory. If you wish to use some of that debt to acquire a suit through the Rovinar you can do so, but you'll not be able to get more than 1 from them for an extended period. If you still wish to get another suit for Valeri Fusaro you can wait for the request to go through channels, approach the Terrans directly or visit Republic space in an attempt to get one from them. Since you have a limited period of time on leave you may want to consider using your Excalibur class Battlecruiser if you plan to visit the Republic due to its faster sustained FTL speed.
>>31493772That favor is more valuable than for us to waste it on renting power armor, or did you mean we can only get one and then we would have to wait for an extended period? As for the Terrans and the Republic, could we not send a mail instead of spending a few more weeks in FTL? Seems like it would save us time and free us up for other things, since we got a LOT to do in these six months. Exposing sabotage within the Alliance, toppling rival Houses, securing our prototype for sale etc etc. Also why did you plan on bleeding RSS dry? Did you feel that the huge influx of money due to lucky rolls imbalanced stuff?>There is an odd flicker when the transmission ends.Oh god we are screwed....But on the flip side.... SONIA IS A BILLIONAIRE! Suck on that... mean girl from school who's arm we broke in that one flashback!
>>31493942>Suck on that... mean girl from school who's arm we broke in that one flashback!I thought we made up with her at some point afterwards?
>>31493772>Good news! You guys have way more money than I thought you would. Bad news, you'll need to pay taxes on some of it even with the donations you've made. Yes there's that much.Ooooh, can we earn some favours by deciding where we'll pay them?
>>31493772>So most of the plans I had to bleed RSS to death are now more or less irrelevant.Hah! Incidentally, how is the anchorage doing? I want to finish with it and move on to that heavy carrier
>>31493772Does no one care into how much trouble we get Versa into with our requests? I don't think her trying to transfer internal military records to an unauthorized outsider will go well. Especially, if the intent of acquiring that information is to work against the the very policies we want to have information on. One could even construe it as granting restricted access of documents to hostile factions because we want to give it to the former pirates. In other news: I finally caught up! Your spelling has improved quite a bit, TSTG. In the future, could you include more details on how much time things take/are going to take? Particularly now that there are going to be more time-skips, this would be important. When reading through the archive I was often surprised by how much or little time had passed.>>31494068I would also be interested in how much money we have put into it and continue to put into it. I also don't think we have been told what capabilities the shipyard will have when completed, though I may have missed that.
>>31493942I feel we should try to get one from the Terrans and maybe before the end of our leave take a trip over to the Republic to see about getting one from them.Mostly because this is a chance to try make "friends" with people from two other factions.>>31492599>If successful its not out of the question that they might learn of your involvement within a decade.I have the strange urge to go Triad hunting when we have some time to help make sure they know it's not safe for them in dominion territory.
>>31494068ooh, I want to know this as well. Primarily so we can show up to a meeting with the Baron in a heavy cruiser. Running gag you see
>>31493942>That favor is more valuable than for us to waste it on renting power armor, or did you mean we can only get one and then we would have to wait for an extended period?Counting that Battleship you've got enough favour with the Rovinar for 6 suits of power armor. To maintain some modicum of balance you're not allowed to ask them for more than 1 suit of Recon armor as it would take them a long time to get hold of more.>Did you feel that the huge influx of money due to lucky rolls imbalanced stuff? That. And to provide a challenge.>>31494030>Ooooh, can we earn some favours by deciding where we'll pay them? Not really, the House just needs cash. Then again I suppose you could just buy another 10 million in Warbonds if you wanted to get more of the admiralty to like you. But that's money used to fund the war effort, not pay for everything else the House needs to operate.>>31494228>Timeskips/passage of timeIn earlier threads, especially in the Smugglers Run everything took very little time in game, especially once all of the ship sensors were upgraded. It made sense as it was a very restricted area of space. In your 2nd tour in the Neeran war I ran into the possibility of this happening again with raiding missions, which needed to be avoided or we'd spend 30 threads at the front. Given the voting average spending time at the front seems to be one of the least popular options. With this in mind I intentionally left it vague, though I was trying to keep it to one attack every 24 hours so the wing would have time to complete their repairs via the Barge.>I also don't think we have been told what capabilities the shipyard will have when completed, though I may have missed that. You haven't really. Some notes went missing which I'm in the process of rebuilding, with upgrade options for the ship now that it's been repaired. What you guys plan to do with it will directly affect it's final cost.
>>31494465In light of this new information I am in favor of useing part of our favor to "buy" one set of power armor from the Rovinar so if we do not find any in Terran or Republic space we will at the very lest have one set for our body double. Also I will agree to hand over the Battleship to the Rovinar, I like them and gaining more favor from then is always good.
>>31494228Well I'm sure the terrans don't want the alliance to break apart because of a possible conspiracy. There are worse reasons for AI shenanigans. And it's not like the Terrans are giving up information about themselves in this case.Anyhow I second the notion of getting a second recon armour with our favour. It has to be an identical set in terms of type and size if it's going to match Rufaro. As for Valeri's suit, that may have to wait or just go through regular channels. If we have time we should pursue the Terran/Republic angle. Or maybe we could spend part of our favour to FIND another seller?
>>31494465Say, how much thought have you put into the monetary things in general? Obviously, the relative value of goods is very different to what it is IRL. Am I right in assuming that one [whatever currency the Dominion uses] is worth far more than one Dollar/Euro is today? Is the civilized part of the universe a post-scarcity society?
>As for the Terrans and the Republic, could we not send a mail instead of spending a few more weeks in FTL? Seems like it would save us time and free us up for other things, since we got a LOT to do in these six months. Exposing sabotage within the Alliance, toppling rival Houses, securing our prototype for sale etc etc.The Republic doesnt like to admit to what sort of equipment they keep around for their special operations command. People know about their heavy jump jet power armor program which keeps being reactivated then shut down due to lack of progress or funding. It usually draws attention away from their other projects and they claim that's their only Power armor system save for cargo and ammo loading gear on bases. To see about getting hold of any equipment from them would require an actual visit. Also I just remembered parts of their secure com networks are still being rebuilt following the civil war.As for the Terrans feel free to submit a letter you feel would convince their Intel people to sell you a suit.>>31494228>your spelling has improved quite a bit, TSTGAlso thanks.>Buy some stock in civilian shipyardsYou currently have 40 million in spending money with plans for 20 of that to be spent on your bodyguards. You can also draw more funds from RSS if necessary.>Oh and where is our evacuation transport? In the Pandora Cluster. They're waiting for permission to head back into Shallan space again to pick up more refugees. Speaking of things going on in the Pandora cluster, several groups of Nobles from a number of Houses have arrived in the region with intention of hunting Warrels. The invasive species have been responsible for attacks on civilians on a number of worlds and are threatening the agriculture and livestock of less developed areas. You, Mike and Alex each have a small personal stockpile of splinter ammo which could be of use to such individuals.Do you wish to take part in a hunt?
>>31494908Could we send a trusted representative to the Republic? Maybe Rufaro herself, it is her who is supposed to receive the suit after all. This would of course require her to shave of several weeks from her vacation.>40 million in spending moneyI dislike that most of our money is bound the the company. Are there legal ways to move money from the company back to our private account? Could we, for example, hire ourselves as an employee of the company and pay ourselves a couple of million per year?
>>31494648I can agree to that.We should also check up on Knight candidates since last time we did slightly drop the ball.I wouldn't mind seeing how our Krath "Friend" from the front is doing. They still have him there or has he been able to get some time off. With the hint he gave I had an idea to send him a little something. An apple on a clear pedestal in a clear glass case with one of those portable stasis units configured to keep whatever is inside in perfect condition.Just a idea I had.
>>31494908>Do you wish to take part in a hunt?Nah, we hunt a better pray. We hunt Neerans. Besides, where is the fun if the prey does not shoot back at you? Or at the very lest has the ability to?>Buy some stock in civilian shipyardsBetter to spend company money on that. Another block in the Reynard franchise? Rey-yards? Get it? I think it was clever at the lest.>>31495101Way I see it that money is ours to use but we have to use it with a bit of responsibility towards our company and use it in ways that will mean money for the company. Like buying a yard to make us free warships but which can also be used to repair salvage and make ships to be sold. And if we buy power armor with money from the company it will own them but that does not mean the users can't buy them out of the company for a reasonable price.>>31495179You are not ambitious enough! We'll send a whole fruit basket with sweet juicy fruits! Which reminds me, silencer for the X-Ray rifle we must buy.
>>31495101Think of it this way.We get a cut of whatever the company makes for our "Personal use". That large chunk that is left we can "use", but it's for expanding the company and funding projects.>>31494908I wouldn't mind going ourselves since we are relatively close at this moment in time (I think)>Power armor program keeps getting restarted and shut down>Needs fundingDid someone say funding?
>>31495338>Did someone say funding? If their military industry is even remotely similar to today's, even 1.5 billion won't get very far.
>>31494908I'm still waiting for the carrier stuff. I want to spend time visiting family, politicking, helping our company and rearranging military procurement again
>>31492284FOR HOUSE AND DOMINION!
>>31494648Given how big a favour is still owed and how often we increase that favour, I'm fine with that.Does anyone have ideas for other things we could spend the favour on? I think getting a cloak for the Devourer was on the table some time ago.>>31495338I don't think the 40 Million came from the company. As far as I remember, we have had about 30 Million when we left for the war half a year ago and got another 10 Million from one of the missions. On the subject of money: What happened to those roughly 700 SP torpedoes we found? I didn't find how many we took to the front and other than the 50 we gave Saputo I have know idea how many we used. When people decided to take most of our stockpile to the front I expected them to sell or donate at least *some* of them, but nothing was done in that regard.
>>31495315I can get behind the civilian shipyards thing and I thought the name was rather clever. Which reminds me how is the House that is doing the armor thing going along? If I remember correctly we pushed more funding over toward them as they were planning on doing some research or something. Also wouldn't mind sending Mr. London a message that we are on leave and will be heading back that way no doubt. It would be nice to see how our station is doing and the company in general.
>>31494908>Do you wish to take part in a hunt?Depends on who else is going. It could be a nice chance to bond with some of our fresh knights and esteemed colleagues, and Daska.
>>31494787>Say, how much thought have you put into the monetary things in general? Not as much as I would like.>Obviously, the relative value of goods is very different to what it is IRL. Am I right in assuming that one [whatever currency the Dominion uses] is worth far more than one Dollar/Euro is today?Yes. Considerably more. I initially used the price of Corvettes and some small starships in Star Wars as a rough guide at first. >Is the civilized part of the universe a post-scarcity society? The technology is certainly there. It doesn't always work out that way in practice though. In many parts of the Dominion people can apply for food rations if they're desperate, and fresh water is effectively free except for the taxes spent on keeping things running. Much like Star Trek where people prefer to eat fresh food over replicated if possible, most avoid food rationing if they can help it. A topic of conspiracy theories is that free civilian rations are made to taste bad as added incentive for people to get out and get a job.>I wouldn't mind seeing how our Krath "Friend" from the front is doing. He got back just after the battle of Apsis. After finding out your Wings were being rotated out he has wished you well and apparently is now working with local intel on attempting to recover data from the crippled Scorcher."I'll see all of you next season. With luck I can pick up a few new tricks by then.""Like what, Neeran mind tricks?""No. You'll find out when you get back... You may be a bit disappointed now, it's not going to match that."You send off a fruit basket to the Apsis system when the Devourer docks.>>31495567>When people decided to take most of our stockpile to the front I expected them to sell or donate at least *some* of them, but nothing was done in that regard.Yeah I was a little surprised about that too. Not counting the SP's you gave to the salvage escort teams you have:180 Mk 40 SP (down from 390)298 Mk 41 SP (down from 311)
>>31496597Have the Terrans released their stockpiles yet? If not, could we sell a couple hundred SPs while we are still near the front and the price is high? I'm sure we will be fine with just a one or two hundred SPs for a long time and when our supply runs dry we can just buy more (or find more if we are lucky).
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8PX5FJ6>Could we send a trusted representative to the Republic? Maybe Rufaro herself, it is her who is supposed to receive the suit after all. You could, or send Valeri, either or. Option added.>>31495514Career or carrier? The EBON is going to be headed towards the homeworlds where it can finally undergo a proper refit. With the plasma cannons removed there should be room to give it the engine upgrade it needs. The reverse thrust engines will also be upgraded with a more powerful thrust vectoring system that will allow the engine wash to be pointed away from the launch corridor for the fighters. When redirected however the ship will only have 30% of it's maximum reverse thrust available. If the captain ordered maximum reverse for a reason that could be compromised. Still it could be overridden in an emergency.>We should also check up on Knight candidates since last time we did slightly drop the ball. Most of your pilots are at elite levels. After asking you find that several of your squadron commanders have identified newer pilots that could easily command squadrons of their own. Most have as much or more experience than you, Daska or any of the others did by the end of the Smugglers Run campaign."You're telling me we need more squadrons?" You ask Drake after she points this out at a staff meeting."It would be a good start sir."Rah'ne speaks up, probably for the first time at a meeting since she was last shot down. "The distribution of ace pilots in 3rd and 5th is too high. Command will probably disband or redistribute both Wings entirely and build new units with the next batch of trainees. We lost so few ships that there will be corvettes and crews to spare."More attack corvettes probably. It would be nice if they were more survivable.>What say?
Oh right, I kinda just assumed that we distributed the SPs at some point. We haven't done much with them other than personally melt faces and swap some with Sylvan.

>>31496721we literally made the subwing system with that in mind. Did we ever finish that formal report that people wanted to do?

>>31496721>favour with the RovinarHow many of their cloaked ships could we get? Is the upgraded version that can fire while cloaked available yet?
>What say? That seems reasonable from a larger perspective. Too bad squadrons will be torn apart by this, but I'm sure some of our Pilots wouldn't mind no longer being in an elite unit. People do expect us to do the most difficult missions after all.I did suggest a slightly different approach though. [Mention subwing system]>>31496721Regarding the Survey: How confident can we be that Terran suits are not bugged / that there are no back-doors for them to hack the suit? >>31496721"It really depends on if the house is planning to commit more forces to the fight or not. Within a few hours the pain killers have faded and so has the pain itself. While the fleet is still waiting in line for gas you contact the Rovinar in call in a favour. Rufaro needs her own suit of Recon armor, one that's identical to your own. Maybe you can pull a bait and switch in the future, or bring her along on infiltration missions. Valeri will have to wait a little while. Or maybe he could visit the Republic on vacation?
>>31498966nah, he can wait
>>31498966>Or maybe he could visit the Republic on vacation? That would definitely be interesting. Are the xenophobic in a more Japanese way, or more Nazi Germany?
>>31499368>Are the xenophobic in a more Japanese way, or more Nazi Germany?Closer to modern Japan overall. Alex plans to sell them some ammo and offer a sales pitch for the company.Arthur, Sam and Nytoria are all interested in going but they're all experienced enough to have seen some shit."Ask some of your potential future Knights along." you suggest. That gets you a half dozen more people coming along. Here's the vote for the hunting trip:No, they can go get themselves killed 2Sell them some splinter ammo 3Yes, lets go big game hunting 4So, looks like big game hunting is in order. >Other: Go with Recon Armor, save someone's life and get owed.Anyone up for this?
>>31499657uh, looks to me like 5 people aren't interested in going. I'd really rs there do something else with our time
I'm kinda ambivalent on the hunting trip. (I voted for sell ammo). It's a real shame we don't have one of our rifles for this, although that would be total overkill and you'd have to bring back your trophy in a soup can.If we do go we definitely take the recon armour. If we want to be sporting we can always turn off the stealth stuff.
>>31499657Well I have to run now since I've been up for about 27 hours straight just so I could join this for a while. If we do go then obviously we take the best possible gear, no half measures. Then again I find this hunt a waste of time for us. We do have a financial empire in the waiting, a plot to weaken rival houses and save the Alliance AND a rather powerful crime organization to take care off.
>>31499657>Anyone up for this?Definitely bring the armour. I'd rather get laughed at and be the only survivor, than being the bravest Warrel food in the sector. Can they be domesticated, btw? I'm still entertaining the thought of keeping one as a pet.Maybe we'll can have their name changed to land sharks if it works out.
>>31499657If we come across some nobles having trouble we can help them and as one of the two that voted for ammo selling we can do that to any we meet!>>31499800I agree it would be great if we had our rifle. (While bagging us a trophy of course)
>>31499657I'd really rather visit family and do things that gets our ptsd under control

It would not last long were it to come under attack by Neeran ships.Upkeep cost not listed.Nikolov has defended her 100 million S purchase of a "kitbox" as the company will be able to use it in the future for jumping out damaged medium cruisers and potentially even heavy cruisers. What would an Exodus production license allow us to do?And I like the idea of cloaking the Devourer. I don't think we would use it to sneak around undetected in the traditional sense. Instead it would help us get the first shot off in a fight, and given the size of our weapons that would be a big alpha strike.>>31501441I agree with that list of upgrades. Gotta protect the investment. I would suggest getting the heavy tractors instead of the mediums, unless we can upgrade the mediums into heavies later. Torpedo armour would be great because the biggest threat is going to be SPs, but it's rather expensive.
>>31501213If you guys can think of any other upgrades you might want (like things you'd like the ship to be able to build) please suggest them. I ran out of room for more text at the same time as ideas. Two of the ship's 3 industrial module slots are currently filled. Nikolov decided it would be best to get a metals refining/processing module to help deal with all of the leftover scrap that tends to be recovered in the field. The basic Exodus license allows the production of strong structural frames and girders to assist in construction of stations and recovery scaffolds. You have data on how to construct several station types mostly for industrial purposes and to assist in terraforming projects. Nikolov bought this one knowing you wanted to go after the Terran Heavy Carrier at some point and because it had a good cover given the House's prevalence towards terraforming projects.>What would an Exodus production license allow us to do?You'd be able to build stations on par with those the Nav guild uses for their relays. House Lat'tham used one such station as a repair yard. Keep in mind that such projects usually take years especially for a single ship. You'd also be able to produce their Journeyman drive modules, though you'd need to secure the FTL components on your own.>>31501341You already have the kitbox you'll need. I'd recommend tractor beams and perhaps some defenses. Anything a ship might need for a protracted stay since you don't want to be making multiple trips into the region and risk destabilizing things.>>31501402>Can we get a list of licenses we can unlock? It's easier to work towards something if we know it's available.Still trying to think of some honestly but many require their own production module. >>31501441>inform Nikolov and anyone she has to defend the kitbox purchase to that we don't think she has any reason to defend it.She's used to working with a small budget and fairly severe oversight. Considering where you started that's probably a good thing.>>31501642>unless we can upgrade the mediums into heavies later. You'd be swapping them out. The ship can only support 1 type or the other at the moment. Power system upgrades = 10m>>31501441>And External cargo bays would allow us to carry what, specifically? Industrial goods? Damaged ships? Modular Station modules?Bulk cargo, industrial goods, metal and ore stockpiles. Most of this can be stored in the main bay too as long as you're not using all the space for repairing ships. Cargo can also act as additional armor, especially if you're carrying say bays full of armor plate to repair starships.
>>31502367>You'd be swapping them out. The ship can only support 1 type or the other at the moment.is there any real difference between medium/heavy tractor beams beyond the size of things they can attract/push?
>It's more a question of what you want to build.SP torpedoes problem, terrans? So lets see... This would be the ideal upgrade situation as I see it. This list doesn't include torpedo armour because that would cost more than all of the other upgrades combined.Point defense batteries= 6 m (particle beam AND mass driver?)Torpedo Batteries = 30 mHeavy phase cannons = 16 mBattle Station Shields = 50 mWarship Armor = 150 mAdvanced sensors = 5 mHeavy tractor beams = 16 mExternal cargo bays = 1.6m for 16Starfighter hangers = 20m for 2Forward Base Hospital = 4m (LVL 2)Industrial module = 10 m one more to make a full set.Power system upgrades = 10m318.6m in totalThe only other things I can think of are missile batteries, maybe ECM, and emergency teleporters if it doesn't have them already. The advanced hospital would be nice, but if we get into a situation where we actually need it, the shit has truly hit the fan. Maybe if we find ourselves operating at the front a lot we can get the upgrade to a level 3 medbay. The phase weapons are there for general defence in case of navigation hazards or hostile boarders. Missiles and torpedoes should be enough to fend off most threats, especially with SPs. Having launchers on board would also mean having magazines for warhead storage, and it can use these to rearm other ships.
>>31502895That seems way to much. remember ongoing costs. Don't try to turn it into a heavy cruiser
>>31502895My main concern with investing in starship grade weaponry and external upgrades is if they'll conflict, such as weapons being useless because cargo modules are blocking the majority of their fields of fire.
>>31502895>>31501441I like both lists but I want to add the Advanced Med Center. Not because I expect us to get into a lot of situations where we will have hurt crew, but because I want best healthcare technology for our people.
>>31502895Okay, I got a crazy idea. We need to pay a lot of money in taxes, right? Plus, we're looking to get a lot of political influence, right? Why don't we take our Anchorage-class vessel, and gift it to Earl Jerik?
>>31502895weapons and starfighters cost money to run. drop the torp batteries and one of the starfighter hangers.
>>31503026Well the problem is that the more you think about it, the more vulnerable this thing is. If we DON'T stack a bunch of military grade defences onto it then the first fight it gets into could be it's last. And hell, someone already tried to steal it. The guns and shielding aren't there to turn it into a combat vessel, they are there so that the captain can FIRE EVERYTHING while running for friendly territory.
>>31502895dude, this isn't a warship. Think minimum neccessary to do the job.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/7DHNJKKIt's survey week! This vote on upgrades for the Anchorage will remain open overnight, and possibly longer. The other survey will also remain open for the moment.>>31502476Heavy tractor beams have a longer range.>>31503040External cargo modules and weapons are usually designed so that they'll not get in each others way. You could probably add more cargo modules over areas weapons would normally be present.
>>31503358and we were Flat out told the current defenses would probably suffice. I'm for upgrades, but not that much
>>31503299>>31503243Think about it. This would be akin to Sherman gifting Savannah to Lincoln. The nobles would shit their royal britches in gratitude, we'd get rid of an unnecessary millstone, the reputation of the company would skyrocket (We salvaged an Anchorage-class!), and the House would probably just accept it in lieu of tax money. Whenever Earl Jerik looks out across at his shiny new Anchorage-class in orbit around Homeworld, he'll think of Sonia. You want to talk about favors? That's the mother of them all right there.
>>31503347>>31503384Noted. Alright lets see... Downgrade the phase cannons from heavy to normal. (we do want at least some basic batteries if we plan to fly this thing into debris fields). Nix the torpedo batteries since we have starfighters to launch them instead, more flexible too. We won't need warship class armour if we have the battle station shields up. (except for SPs but you can't plan for those).Point defense batteries= 6 mPhase cannons = 8 mBattle Station Shields = 50 mAdvanced sensors = 5 mHeavy tractor beams = 16 mExternal cargo bays = 1.6m for 16Starfighter hangers = 20m for 2Advanced Med Centre = 15m (LVL 3)Industrial module = 10 m one more to make a full set.Power system upgrades = 10mNew total: 141.6mThat should be more reasonable. I still think we should add some missile batteries because those are dirt cheap and relatively effective.
>>31503529It's also the mother of them all potential money maker. With the right licences we could BUILD our own modular stations. Imagine building and slowly setting up our own stations around planets that we "convince" the governors that its the right thing to do.Hell, once we help the South Reach guys they might be interested in some infrastructure to help their rebuilding.
Finished the survey. Went with the loadout I detailed in >>31503544 . I was considering reducing the number of fighter bays to 1, but then I remembered that we ALSO salvage fighters too, not just ships. While we can just strap them down in a cargo bay, an actual working hangar would make it easier to repair these fighters and return them to service.>>31503842Seems like a good long term plan. Modular stations are always in demand.
You get Arthur, Sam and Nytoria on the line and tell them to play it safe if they're going hunting and keep their pilots alive. Preferrably the other nobles too but that's less of a priority. "Alternatively you could swoop in to rescue a few of the nobles at the last minute to really impress them. I was thinking of doing that with my Recon armor if I did go down.""We'll keep that in mind sir."Arthur makes sure to have a faster ship from 5th Wing wait behind when the Wing departs so they can catch up at FTL later. With that taken care of and everything in the Pandora cluster seemingly taken care of the Wings finish their resupply and head for home. While in transit you discuss permanant employment for both Rufaro and Valeri, get some practice in with small arms and hand to hand, then start writing papers on engaging Neeran. Specifically it's a paper intended for special forces, especially those with Recon suits like yourself. There are still some tips that should come in handy for anyone. It's not always possible to prevent the Neeran from reaching their armory but knowing tricks for finding it is still useful. Different markings to look for should suit translation equipment fail. Always have weapons ready to counter regular troops so that heavier munitions can be held back for actual Neeran. Half way into the flight most of it seems polished enough that you run it by the Marines for additional input. Their own experience has show how to use less powerful weapons to get the job done. Splinter ammo is high on the list as are mass driver rifles, Shallan Fusion Guns and anti-tank plasma guns. One on their own is rarely enough. Some performance notes for your own rifle design are thrown in at the end comparing it to the others. Hopefully they won't be brushed aside.
>>31504291We have a Terran carrier that could already take care of starfighter salvage, along with just about every ship having space for starfighters in come capacity.
Your return to House space and Dreminth is not met with anywhere near the same level of fanfare as the end of your first tour of duty. The fleet still does a victory orbit before arriving at the main station and there is applause and greetings when everyone comes aboard but there is no parade on the planet's surface. The streets of the capital remain busy as people continue to go on about their lives. There are vehicles waiting at the spaceport for the officers and nobles and a banquet is being held by the Earl in honor of the recently returned. There is plenty of time for everyone to make calls before hand and talk to relatives. Everyone remains dressed at their best except for a few unfortunates who are later escorted off and loaned suitable attire. For once everyone seems to make it through an evening without people of importance rushing off to deal with an emergency at the front. The Earl eventually makes a proper appearance late in the evening, officially welcoming back the staunch defenders of the House the Dominion and now the Factions as a whole."We are committed to aiding in the defense of the Shallan people, not just as a House by ourselves, but as a part of the larger Dominion. You have all proven yourselves to be among the best, brightest and most determined to win, and fight to see another day. In the seven months since you once again set out for the front a full ten Houses have proven that they were not made of such stern stuff as they once thought. House Jerik-Dremine is once again close to the middle ranks of the Royal Houses in terms of our military and economic power, though it has come at a terrible cost to our current allies."The Earl pushes on to avoid the somber mood falling over the assembled officers. "Your efforts have caused the Neeran invasion to grind to a halt. Soon it is the enemy that will be driven back. So for now rest and enjoy yourselves, all of you have earned it several times over."
Promotions are given out following the speech and you're delivered a case filled with medals with which to elevate several of your Knights and officers. There's also a message that a few more individuals are to be Knighted the following day. So much for the day off. There is a long list of pilot's stars being awarded as well.It looks like you've picked up another Special Operations Service Medal for stealing that ship and another blasted WIA medal for the same mission. Just about everyone has picked up a Medal of Valor or Bravery for that decoy mission, which you admit was pretty crazy. If the fleet had continued on deeper into enemy territory you're sure several of these would be medals of Honor but at that point a lot more of them would have been given out posthumously. Before you departed the Pandora cluster there was time to send messages ahead to buy and have gifts delivered in time for Christmas. What did you get everybody?>See you guys in the morning.
Are we going to give actually useful gifts or just prank everyone?>>31506149Still it's nice to have some redundant capacity in case of emergencies. In any case a hangar with nothing in it can still be used as a cargo bay.

You're once again thanked for allowing their engineers to study the Mk 1 since so few have been recovered. When you see them in person House R&D are more willing to talk about some of the equipment you may have access to in a few months time. Specs for new prototypes for the modular power cell armor system are now available. Previous versions were very crude and had a host of flaws, the next batch seem like they'll be much more refined. Design work on the Repulsor armor version is also rumored to be progressing though they have no hard data on them here. The Factions have completed their early high maneuver mod for the current generation of assault corvettes both Terran and Dominion. Both Factions are now in something of an arms race to rush high maneuver drives and appropriate hull modifications into production. You have 6 points to spend on Faction R&D. Electing to walk the last few blocks to see how the neighbourhood is doing, there are no signs of the sort of urban decay present in Mike's home town. There are signs that a couple of buildings have seen better days but anything in view of the street is kept clean, no signs of graffiti. "Have you followed any of these streams?" Asks Dad."No, I haven't had time before.""We have time now."The better part of the day is spent tracing one of the larger streams up into the higher altitudes until you find a pond at the bottom of a small shallow valley."All of the precipitation from this valley must pass right through here." your father points out when stopping to rest."I'm surprised there isn't more erosion if that's the case." you reply."It's not that big. The pond is only 30 feet across.""Are we near the tree line yet?" Asks Bekka when she catches up, still breathing hard.Dad shakes his head. "No, this section of the mountain range doesn't go high enough for that by the looks of it.""Which means more trees if I ever needed to sell a few." you respond. A good emergency fund, though one you might get some flak over using if it came to it."Try not to go overboard, this soil isn't very good. >>31530362same anon here, for clarity>>31530759I agree completely that this purchase request is too fishy and that we don't need the cash that badly.Keep the Errant, despite the crazy offer. Stopping by the Devourer to transfer your armor to the lodge you notice there's a priority intel update from Baron Winifred received a few hours ago."Knight Captain, I'm departing for South Reach, There are too many things for me to keep an eye on to remain here for long. I thought you would want to know that the Terrans and the Kavarians have finished construction of their secret project. They're calling it the Alliance Expeditionary Carrier. They've finished one so far and have already begun construction of a second. This is what data I've been able to get hold of. I trust you will keep it safe."Alliance Expeditionary Class Super Heavy Carrier / Alliance Expeditionary CarrierThree times the weapons compliment of the modified Mega class ships used by the Terrans, Rovinar and the Republic. It's rumored to be equipped with a new advanced armor system which is backed up by the latest Iratar armor layer system should that fail. Combined with the highest rated redundant shield generators ever deployed on a mobile platform, the Alliance hopes this ship can weather direct hits from Scorchers.Estimated FTL rating of J-28, the fastest of any known Faction super heavy cruiser. It should be able to keep up with or overtake anything the Neeran have.2 carrier bays each with internal storage capacity of 12km x5km x1km. The bay doors have been intentionally designed to be small, with Battlecruisers being the largest ships they can provide field repairs to. In theory it could support two thousand Terran Assault corvettes, but will probably be closer to 1500.There is a last note from the Baron. "The report specifically lists Terran Assault corvettes as its primary cargo. If you encounter this ship in the field attempt to take detailed scans. The Terrans could use ships of this class against us after the war and we may have no effective way to counter them."
>>31531223... is the first one named Vieona?
>>31531223That thing is a BEAST! I just hope the Neeran's don't get one of their own, what with their Corvettes lacking FTL and all most of the time.Return message!"You know me Winifred, I scan everything even when I am not suppose too. Perhaps I'll meet you in South Reach when I get there. Maybe we'll talk business as well, not sure yet but not doubt that will happen eventually. Also there will be other matters that may or may not be of great advantage to the House should things go right. No doubt I will have to send you another bottle of painkillers.PS: You don't happen to have any Recon armor just laying there collecting dust?Knight-Captain Reynard"
>>31531506we really need to be more careful about what we send to Baron Winifred. She is playing the game of thrones, and there are forces that see her as an obvious threat already. a simple response wishing her well should suffice.
>>31530759>Also when we got back the Earl said that 10 houses are out of the running, essentially raising JD's rank by 10 spots. What happened to them? Many Houses that had poor commanders managed to deal with them over the course of the Warlords campaign, either transferring them, or getting them killed. But only half of the Houses in the Dominion took part in that campaign. Several Houses that did not sufficiently prepare their military have suffered more severe losses against the Neeran due to poor leadership than they would have otherwise. >TL;DR some idiots got themselves killed.>>31531455The name of the first one has always been a bit of a problem for me. For a long time I've simply referred to it as the "Expeditionary" as it was the first of its class. However it's not really a good name for a warship. I considered going the route of "Battleship X" like the USS South Dakota in WW2 and not really giving it a name but that just seems like a cop-out.Vieona would seem like a logical choice. But I may yet return that ship to action.Other names currently under consideration: Endurance, Endeavour, Erebus. The second ship of the class will replace the Big E after it was used as a fire ship in the decoy operation. Even if it hadn't been destroyed there it would have met a similar fate.>>31531506>I just hope the Neeran's don't get one of their own, what with their Corvettes lacking FTL and all most of the time. The default Neeran Super Heavy Cruisers encountered before they began to deploy their Scorchers were carrier types, each of which deploys 1500 corvettes in addition to another 200-300 HLV's. Huh, that was actually unintentional that the AEC would match the carrying capacity so closely. The one at the Battle of Apsis launched 20 full strength wings of corvettes, while smaller carriers brought in more.>PS: You don't happen to have any Recon armor just laying there collecting dust?Nobody does.

>>31532659>1st Exp. Fleet Social Club. What are your plans there? Any events in mind?I was doing some reading about ‘social clubs’ in 19th century Britain, and I think I’ve found an excellent way to expand our social networkGiven the rigorous demands of Empire! Military and naval officers, lawyers, judges, members of Parliament and government officials tended to have an irregular presence in the major cities particularly London, spending perhaps a few months there before moving on for a prolonged period and then returning. As our House currently commands territories in more than one cluster of space, it would be reasonable to assume that over the next decade or so (especially with this war going), people within our Social Club will be jetting around quite a bit. Therefore, as staying on a military base can be quite pedestrian and because the majority of our social compatriots are within the nobility and therefore do not wish to slum it in a common hotel, I propose that we buy or build a string of semi-residential ‘club houses’ across the worlds owned by our House. We already have a good start with our high security resort. We just need to expand this network.

Maybe they have trouble buying a ship because of their bad reputation.I also wonder if refusing to do business with a dispossessed knight would be interpreted in a certain way. I'd like to make certain that there are reasons other than the dispossession Sonia is not selling the ship (it's shark themed, we try to build up an escort for our big ships, whatever).>>31536455Good idea.
Rolled 17, 15 = 32>>31538259>>31536455Agreed on both counts. This is what was really needed to get our club going and if this new knight comes up relatively clean and down on his luck it may be a good way to expand our clubs ranks outside our own contacts and gain a very deep favor as well.

It was upgraded in the Faction Wars and then lost in battle in South Reach.>Has it sentimental value to the knight?Possibly, though this seems unlikely. The House it was from was conquered after the wars.>Does it have collector's value because it's from an early or special production line?Yes, any of the ships of its type are of value to collectors. The older the ship they more rare they get.Your people look into the individual and it seems the offer was supposed to be a generous price to secure a quick sale, or one suitable for a bribe to keep quiet about it. It's a bit too high though and the reason soon becomes obvious to you once RSS gets better data via the Tourta info brokers. The young Dro'all attempting to buy the ship is far younger than he is representing himself to be. The records on the Knight in question list an age of 47, belonging to one of the Houses that once had territory in South Reach. After their colony worlds were lost the remainder of the House back in the Homeworlds was conquered 10 years ago. Supposedly some of their remaining Knights kicked around for a few years and the last of them seen alive were reported to have been fighting in Shallan space 10 months ago.If he's impersonating a noble, even one dispossessed of their holdings, that's a serious offence.[ ] Report him[ ] Talk to him[ ] Other

>See if one our Knight Errant buddies can stop by for a 'drink'.It seems that none of them are in South Reach at the moment to talk to the other Knight, but might consider depending on what information you can get on them. They do prefer to recruit nobles or at worst people from the middle class. One of your people at RSS sets up a call for you to talk to them. While reluctant you inform them that you're not parting with such a rare and valuable ship without talking to the person you're selling it to. As the info broker's report had stated the Dro'all who appears on screen is certainly not in their forties. Even Dro'all nobles who don't burn through their lifespan as quickly fully mature long before that age and this kid has not.He introduces himself as Eshik Medel of the former House Medel. A very distant relative of the former head of the House. "I hate to be the one to break it to you but you're not fooling anyone by pretending to be an older Knight. There's no way you could have been Knighted by your House before it fell. Perhaps the son of one of those knights?"It seems your guess was spot on. Eshik is his parent's designated successor but while the few remaining Knights from their House might have recognised him as one of their own he lacks legitimacy. His father still retained a Light Cruiser after the fall of their House but he was killed in Shallan space and the ship lost last year. Eshik still has a corvette and the remains of the family fortune but will not be recognised by any of the larger Houses as even a Knight Errant without owning something of suitable grandeur. The ship he was attempting to buy would certainly do the trick. Most nobles would not want to be seen aiding such an individual, especially given his lack of a combat record. The data recovered on him shows no signs that he's ever seen battle. Even the other Errant Knights unit would be hesitant to recruit him at this point.
So at this point while Eshik might certainly be rich and have a small ship, he has nothing that would be considered property within the Dominion. Neither was he Knighted by any House. You're left with the basic options of simply ignoring the purchase offer and sending him on his way, selling the ship to him to allow a measure of legitimacy but likely endangering him and the ship in the process, or report him as impersonating a noble. >Your orders?
>>31549880if the problem is his lack of experience couldn't we arrange something for him that might give him the experience he needs and prove himself before giving him a ship?
>>31549951We do have that Heavy Carrier recovery operation which probably needs escorts.
4chan pass is in use by another IP bullshit. Hate it when this happens. Takes forever to clear."You wish to test me to see if I'm worthy? And if I'm successful will you agree to sell me the ship?"
>>31550169I wouldn't mind testing him to see just how he handles himself.I mean if he can somehow against all odds win against us in all our elite glory it would be impressive. That is of course doubtful but we can at least see how competent he is.
>>31549712 >>31549880 So under dominion law, what is he actually considered? middle class? Does owning a light cruiser suddenly make him an Errant knight, or simply hide the fact that he is an imposter? I'm wondering if he can provide certified lineage papers or have a Knight confirm that he is in fact his father's son, just as a gesture of good faith, considering he lied to us from the start. Get him into a simulator and see if he has the right stuff. If he does, we'll consider a plan to get him combat experience and possibly recommend him to our Knight Errant friends or possibly the Faction Alliance. If he doesn't have the right stuff, we should have a talk with him about other ways to continue his father's legacy instead of getting himself killed. And I still would like to keep the Errant, just because we're unlikely to ever get another one to re-complete our frigate/cruiser/battlecruiser shark hand.(Damn it, who broke captcha)

Damn captcha has been broken for a while now, i've been trying to post this for ages.>>31550102>>31550186I wouldn't mind giving this guy some kind of leg up, but the cruiser is out of the question and I'm wary of letting any other house have a look at our salvage ops. Even a minor house like this.
Bloody captcha! WORK!I do not like the idea of him joining us. We know nothing about him besides him having lied to us already. He could reveal the location of the Heavy and his impersonating a noble will reflect badly on us. More so since we are trying to impress the house enough to reach the rank of Commander and eventually Baron.Just sell him the ship and send him on his way.
And it looks like I was suffering the auto update glitch too.>>31518487>Could we keep it in hyperspace like those sleeper ships on top of that? This would be difficult and incredibly expensive. You have some of the data necessary to modify the FTL drive cores in such a manner but would require some experimentation. >>31550252>So under dominion law, what is he actually considered? middle class?Upper class since he is rich, but not a noble.>Does owning a light cruiser suddenly make him an Errant knight, or simply hide the fact that he is an imposter? It would make him a noble but not a Knight since he was not made a Knight by a member of any House.Getting an Errant would not change this either, but would very effectively hide it.>I'm wondering if he can provide certified lineage papers or have a Knight confirm that he is in fact his father's son, just as a gesture of good faith, considering he lied to us from the start. This he can do and the papers do check out.>Get him into a simulator >>31550186>I wouldn't mind testing him to see just how he handles himself.>I mean if he can somehow against all odds win against us in all our elite glory it would be impressive. You won't be in South reach for some time by the looks of it. Is anyone else for this if it should turn out he kind of sucks?>And I still would like to keep the Errant, just because we're unlikely to ever get another one to re-complete our frigate/cruiser/battlecruiser shark hand.Noted:>>31550403Anyone that doesn't like Helios or your House since you guys salvaged plenty of guns.>>31550526One vote against sending him with the salvage team.
>>31550632>Who to sim him againstPreferably, I'd like to see if a Knight like Kim or another person we've served with would be willing to let the kid act as part of a group simulation's aggressor forces or perhaps have one of the Merc groups working for us include him in a few of their training sim groups? The most important part isn't his ability to duel, it is his ability to work as part of a group. I'd have to say that Sonia seems like a person that would try to help the talented heir of an Errant Knight follow the family tradition, but would go out of her way to try to keep an untalented one from going after an early grave. We need to assess the guy like any other trainee, really. And the possibility of him training with RSS-hired mercs reminds me that they were attempting to recruit and rebuild their numbers. Have we received any status updates on how they're doing with that or requests from them?
I've been going through the list of requests for different production licenses people might like to get for the Anchorage. There was a lot of interest in modular stations and yes, you can get them. Exact costs for all of the license are not falling into place for me atm, as I'm lacking in sleep. See you in the morning.>Power armor foundryControlled technology atm, sorry. Unless you throw money at the Warlords for power cell armor that is. A lot of it. >DHI license if possible. Fairly easy for you to get as a shareholder, just remember that you wont have access to their afterburners as they dont produce many of them and they're all built at special locations. This license would allow you to build fusion reactors and sublight engines for ships and stations along with other power sub systems.>GM, depending on the costs.Quality comparable to DHI but with slightly better parts commonality than almost every other producer.>Aries if they don't jack the prices through the roof. You'd be able to get some for sublight engines, phase and pulse cannons but all of their really good stuff is only built at their factories. You can still buy their equipment they just dont like other people building much of it. They're your best bet for basic weapon systems followed by Iratar and Tarketta.>transport ship liscenses to help aid house logistics, Dominion single module transporter is the fastest.Iratar Y-type transport is the most popular and can be converted for a number of jobs.Tarketta U-Haul is more expensive to build but has more military upgrade options and higher engine power than most.Molominious class is the most expensive main tranport ship but with highest capacity.Warlord Medium transports carry 50% more than the Moli but suffer from design flaws. Only the desperate or foolhardy use them.
>>31550632>If he doesn't have the right stuff, we should have a talk with him about other ways to continue his father's legacy instead of getting himself killed.Could he provide more detail about his father / House. I mean, if the House which conquered the land owned by his former House were to ever become our rival, I'm sure having someone like him with some kind of legal claim to the lands would be useful, politically speaking...
>specialist frigate typesAs in worker Frigates or for fighting? There's the Standard/Factions Frigate. It's frame is fairly versatile and can be used in place of HLV's or heavy tugs. >REPUBLIC PLASMA ANYTHING. Anti-tank guns. You're locked out of everything else.>Helios Siege Gun ships. Only produced by House Helios. They'll sell ships not the rights to build them. The Rovinar have an equivalent siege gun on their Heavy cruiser but it's unlikely they'd give you access to those. The Terrans used to employ a few such weapons but they've largely been superseded by SP weaponry and their access to Republic plasma cannons. For all of these keep in mind that the Anchorage can only support 3 industrial modules at any time. If you get rid of the metals refining module you'll need to keep shipping in a steady supply of finished metals for any construction projects.
>>31553058I'm voting for Moli/Y-type transports for the final module, both if we could swing it somehow without dumping one of the other modules. With transports in short supply and the entire Dominion's worth of shipyards accelerating into wartime production for mainly warships (I hope), we stand to make a VERY tidy sum supplying the already stretched market for supply and logistics. We're striking lucky so far with salvage vs. expenditures and a solid money maker like that can't be overlooked for a reliable cash flow. Not to mention that RSS could use a couple more transports itself for internal supply duties as well.
I like the idea of being able to build trade/logistics ships to boost house/our trade capability. Even better if we can somehow use the same frame to build heavy hitting attack cruisers and fast salvage-op cruisers. So one of the modules is for refining metals and raw resources? That's good, cause there's always a bunch of scrap after battles. Can we have module which boosts our repair capability? I mean, allows us to repair highly complex systems ect.And finally, what do you guys think, should we focus (choice of modules) on producing more common stuff needed everywhere (batteries, basic ship weapons ect.) or more specialized stuff to niche out a little. Also, is producing stations a good/asked for endeavor?
>>31553776>>31553848Supporting these. Great way of boosting trade, supply and logistics capability, and like said, the market for such should be great!Even better if we can modularize them somehow for attack and salvage duties too!
I see voting has been closed. Damm, was going to throw my vote for the transports.
I agree with the Molly/Y-type. Molly for high capacity, Y-type for versatility. People are going to need plenty of both.
>>31553776>>31553848>>31554054>>31554180A ship that builds ships, I like it. Besides simply useing them for logistic transports we can also convert them to salvage ships. However to build all these ships we are going to need supplies I can imagine. While scrap metal that we recover might work for some I was thinking we use our substantial landholdings on Frostback for some mining along with our rocks in space. I just we aren't taking water over our head with this. Also, yay for captcha working again!
>>31554430Was also thinking that we might be able to just 'scrap' extremely badly damaged ships for tasty metal and other spare parts.. perhaps even neeran ships. Breaking larger hulls down to make a bunch of smaller ships.Though I wonder if that is economial in this setting?I also very much like your idea of asteroid mining operations, it's like going full-homeworld right here (oh those memories). This Anchorage hook is really making this quest more interesting (for me at least)
>>31550632>That wannabe knightI say if he is more than just hot air we help him. It's the nice thing to do, doesn't cost us much and there is a lot to gain (favours owned and all that). My suggestion for how to go about this is as follows:>Test his skills to find out if he is more than just hot air.If he's at least mediocre:>Offer job in RSS as pilot of a light cruiser or bigger. We need pilots, he needs experience flying those ships. Battle experience is optional but we could also offer training (all our crews should be combat trained. I don't want our warship crews to have rusted skills just because they see combat only every couple months. After a year or so:>Send him off with a warship and a written assessment of his skill. This should give him a lot more legitimacy than just owning such a ship. I wouldn't give him one of our shark-shaped ships though, I'm sure there are other suitable warships. I'd also give him a discount for his work.>>31553058How big are those industrial modules? Could we build similar modules with the ship? That way we can use the Anchorage just for salvage and build a shipyard somewhere else if we want to expand.
>>31550350>Did you have anything else in mind beyond that, and is everyone else okay with this plan?If he doesn't see action with RSS we should probably find another way to get him at least some combat experience before we let him go wherever he wants?Sell him the ship for 17.5 million and have him sign a 6 month contract as a mercenary in a low to medium danger area of a faction of our choosing?>>31550350>Did you want to try and use you influence to get additional support on any projects? If so who did you want to contact?Would the relative of Lord Harmen be able to gather some support for the Repulsor Armor design if we manage to convice him it's a sound idea?>>31550632>This will be kept in mind. Is anyone else for this if it should turn out he kind of sucks?Yeah, no sense sending that guy off to die.>>31552804>I've been going through the list of requests for different production licenses people might like to get for the Anchorage. Can we a license for something from the allied Neerans?
>>31550350>this would quickly find out if he can keep a damn secretLet's not immediately give a random guy who wants to buy one of our ship access to secret information. He can escort normal salvage operations or help with that one once the cat is out of the bag anyway.
Guys, maybe we should consider that the Anchorage would be better off as a specialist station production ship, and that we could just have it build the frame for an actual shipyard (maybe one we could make semi-mobile, if the Anchorage showed up to move it?)We've already some capacity to build stations due to the Exodus module, so why not double down to increase build speed or get a module that allows us to make stuff like improved station systems for the stations we build?I'm sure the good Baron would see the potential in setting up a shipyard or two in her holdings, and possibly offer some measure of assistance. And supplying a mobile shipyard is likely beyond our practical means, in regard to workers and supplies.
>>31557072Production is expensive and I believe we can more quickly gain money by useing it in large scale salvage operations base. Where instead of snagging a few wrecks and flying them to some far off base we just plant it in the middle of the graveyard and claim all of it in one go. After which we will have much closer to pull in ships from further away so we do not end up like befor where we had 4 hours drive to go from the graveyard to the Rovinar base and back. However a regular shipyard is something I am not against as that seems to be possibility for large amounts of money during this state of total war that we are in. A Cruiser yard would be very good indeed and we may even get to use them ourselves if we can get the house to buy from us. Something that kinda was my plan for getting a Fighter factory. The House buys equipment from us so that they can equip us with said equipment. A situation that we can only win from. Sadly that did not go through but hey!>>31556201>Let's not immediately give a random guy who wants to buy one of our ship access to secret informationYes, let's just sell it to him and ask if he wants a job along the mercenary's as an escort? It's like he'll pay to work for us! And if he does not want a job then we still got 25 millions out of it.>>31555670>17.5 millionSince when do we give discounts to people that aren't the House? Even with the 6 month contract it isent even close to make up for it. I mean with our Knight pay it would still take like 200 years to get up to 7.5 millions.
I'm against selling the Errant to a kid with no experience or references. He's got a corvette. Offer him a job as a merc, and then after a few months of satisfactory service as a guard dog for RSS we can recommend him to the Admiralty for enlistment. Maybe we will reconsider selling him the Errant at that point.Sound good?>17.5 million>Since when do we give discounts to people that aren't the House?Yeah, also that.As far as licenses go, we should try for the Moli/Y-type. We already have some of those in the RSS fleet, so being able to build more/overhaul them at will would be incredibly useful.
>>31558573An interesting point. On the other hand, people use stations for a bloody reason. Its horrendously inefficient to use a ship to build other ships. I really think we should stick to our core competencies with RSS. Salvage.
>>31557278>shipyardI was actually thinking we could start the shipyard building transports, then switch it up to a 'freeware' cruiser design like vengeance types or maybe those Terran Polaris light cruisers. Our house and company would likely benefit from the lower crew requirements of them.As for the production of stations, we could do that between salvage deployments, as we have to consider the economics of actually deploying the massive anchorage on anything but the largest of salvage ops.>it's like he'll pay to work for us.No, he would end up paying us less for the ship after we paid him, unless he contracted for no pay, and would get>discountI agree. The kid presented himself falsely and shouldn't get a discount on anything we decide to sell him.
>>31558914>I agree. The kid presented himself falsely and shouldn't get a discount on anything we decide to sell him.yep, I agree too, we can give the kid a chance and offer him some work and he can get experience, but he ain't getting a discount or that ship
>>31553015I wouldn't mind picking up the licenses for the station modules from the Royal Drive Yards or at least trying to.But I agree that we should get the ones for the Moli/Y-type
>>31558891Stations are permanent and a pain to move. Allowing the Anchorage to rebuild our main salvage vessels in the field, and even build replacements, would allow for really extensive deployments. I'm not really keen on setting up a permanent installations just yet, not until we clear a few more salvage fields. Then we can use our big pile of money to just buy a shipyard outright.
>Build ships! One thing to keep in mind is that the large-ish asteroid you got the rights to. While you did want to use it for the R&D base it could also serve as a production site for things you wanted to build but lack space aboard the Anchorage. You could also expand one or more of the modular stations in orbit of Surakeh to do the same. The Governor would doubtlessly be happy to see more shipyards. >Can we have module which boosts our repair capability? I mean, allows us to repair highly complex systems ect.A module to produce power systems and shields so that the main production module didn't have to slow down would be a good idea. The most efficient balance would be a refining module paired with a ship building and a power systems module. With those three you could build entire ships much more quickly. The down side is that you can't put any other kind of module aboard the Anchorage then.Or since you have a DHI module on the station you could just ship in power system parts.>Also, is producing stations a good/asked for endeavor?Usually, it's just very time consuming even with all the right gear.>was going to throw my vote for the transports.Much bigger survey coming up.>>31554999>we might be able to just 'scrap' extremely badly damaged ships for tasty metal and other spare parts.. This was Nikolov's plan.>perhaps even neeran ships. The technology to do this is still under development.>Breaking larger hulls down to make a bunch of smaller ships. Though I wonder if that is economial in this setting? It depends what you're scrapping and building and how long you're willing to spend. At the moment the Anchorage is much more efficient at repairing recovered ships in the field.>>31555667>How big are those industrial modules? Could we build similar modules with the ship?>Exponential growthYou'll have to keep buying industrial modules, sorry.
>>31557278I think this a is golden opportunity to get a friendly knight who owes us big. Do you want to ignore that?I'd love to be able to create stations that can be as versatile as what we could do with the Archonage. While I agree that there is a lot of money to be had by sending it into graveyards, some graveyards are big enough for year long operations. I'd rather spend a month building a station module and salvaging choice ships and then have a station that can generate income for years (and can later be transported to the next graveyard) than just have the single Archonage. It's not the best if you want to make money in the next year, but down the line this seems like the more lucrative option.>>31558914>switching modulesGood idea! How much effort would it be to switch modules later on?>>31558573I say we configure our mobile shipyard for salvage and salvage related tasks. We can do all that other interesting stuff at those other places.
>>31559229I think we should hold off major purchases until we know how the Heavy Carrier will go down. Hopefully that will give us a better idea of where we are politically and financially.
>>31559169We could build stations for planets or factions. Like replacing the two 'depot' stations above Surekah that the governor demanded we supply modular station modules for, or improving Tourta's orbital infrastructure, or helping expand an existing shipyard like the one in smuggler's run we invested in.Our salvage/repair stuff will let us refit our ships, but the ability to build stations opens up a way for us to make profits and help friends & allies by improving orbital infrastructure between the big salvage jobs. We can't loot 7 faction wars sites all the time, and we still have to make money with the ship between them.We could probably produce and store the structures of stations sort of like erector sets while on salvage ops, too. Just show up and assemble the skeleton from prefab parts, then finish it out. What about getting production for modular station cores?
>>31559315A knight in name only who has already tried to deceive us and has absolutely nothing what so ever to bring to the table for us. No combat experience, no money, no contacts and not even a House. At best he is a buyer of a ship for a good price, at worst he is a problem. You make a valid point. I can't go into a full argument here since we do not actually know how much money a station would generate. We do know that salvaging generated 1.5 billion, enough to buy a third of a super heavy if we are to go by that one guy that tried to buy that one Super heavy we crippled. Not to mention power armor, SP's and other juicy objects of our desire.>>31559323True, don't want to go throwing money on every fire we pass do we?
>>31559315He's not a knight. He's a wanna-be trying to buy his way into knighthood. Think about what Sonia did to earn get knighthood and the Devourer. I'm for giving the kid a chance to earn his knighthood, but I'm against letting him buy it.
>>31559469I think just selling him the ship would be even more risky. We would practically give him legitimacy and may give us a bad reputation soon.I don't want hire a worthless knight-wannabe either. That is why the very first step is to test whether he is actually a capable flier. We need to train or hire crews for our ships anyway and currently have more ships than crews. This way, if he is terrible we send him away and report him. If he is average, we have a new pilot and can use one more ship and might gain a life-long ally.Worst case would be if he is a good flier but decides to betray us for some reason. It's less likely this would happen with him than with a normal captain though. He has a lot to lose by betraying us wants to become a public figure (a noble).>station vs salvageWell, apparently we can do both! Salvage with the ship, everything else on our stations and maybe asteroid base.
>>31559229Question: how feasible would it be to produce a Knight class light cruiser design with personnel reduction techniques copied from the Polaris?
>>31559229I think the modular stations we have should be in charge of any ship production we have. The reason I think the Anchorage would be good for building the modular stations is because it is a mobile platform. We could build them, jump somewhere, set them up, and BOOM Sonia Class station. It also wouldn't get in the way of repairing stuff since we would only be building with the Anchorage if we needed another module or station.
>>31559776Bonus points if its an easy refit like the attack corvette mark II
>>31559229>>Build ships! One thing that might be an idea worth researching is modular ships. There could be 'blocks' that you swap out for different pieces. So if we went to construct a modular battleship, it could have, for example, 6 slots. You could put three offensive weapons in those slots and three shield slots. Then on the frontline swap out modules as needed. Probably too mechanically complex and expensive though, and the ships would likely be pretty flimsy.
>>31559819True, then we could get people to pay us to change over their knight cruiser stocks.
>>31559229In that case, I vote that we get the Aries module for the Anchorage instead. The ability to produce our own armor/weapons to outfit the ships we salvage will save a us a ton of money in the long run and dramatically cut down on the number of runs our logistics ships have to make for supplies, likely just for drive plates and other high quality parts, meaning that we can keep our current fleet equipped with same amount of ships AND get far more efficient work quotas. As for the transport building idea, lets purchase several modules and attach them to our Surakeh station. This can only work out well for us as it is near a well travelled planet that will make parts acquisition easy compared to getting them to the Anchorage, and makes our station much more attractive to businesses and visiting customers. We can even get modules for support frigates and tugs to branch out into vertical service integration. Need your ship fixed? Come to us! Fucked it up so bad that we can't fix it? Buy a new one at our affordably priced in-station shipyard! Dolla dolla sen y'all
Pic related if you wanted the Anchorage to be able to operate on its own without much support.>>31555670>Would the relative of Lord Harmen be able to gather some support for the Repulsor Armor design if we manage to convince him it's a sound idea?Troy or Baron Archivald? Neither would have much need for it.>>31559404>What about getting production for modular station cores?Station cores are much more expensive and complicated to build. They normally require a Battleship grade slipway and cost just as much. I doubt you'd be able to get a license to produce them.>>31559315>switching modules>Good idea! How much effort would it be to switch modules later on?Not much effort. Shipyard technology has changed since the MDY ships were first built so Exodus refit them all to carry the newer modules that can be swapped out.So did you guys want to get some spares and have them docked with one of the stations or the asteroid when not in use aboard the Anchorage? Because those production licenses will still expire eventually even if you're not using them to build things. On that note, production licenses are usually good for 10-20 years depending on the type and who you're buying from.>>31559776>>31559819It would not be an easy refit. The Knight is an old design and the interior would need to be reworked extensively. It's possible to upgrade it and skeleton crew it but when it takes damage it will still face the usual penalties of having minimal damage control personnel. Developing a complete redesign would give better results overall but at that point odds are good you're going to want more engine power. While a good all around Light Cruiser it's age is now starting to show when fighting the Neeran. It's likely the Houses are already at work attempting to design a replacement that remains more cost effective than the Royal Guard cruiser.>>31559856Most ships are modular to some degree. Weapons, engines and armor are easy to swap out.
>>31560177I think we want to hold off until we've recovered the heavy cruiser and sold it to the house. Hopefully at that point we'll have a better idea of our financial position and be politically secure.
>>31560257Yeah, this seems like a good idea. Also I am rather confused as to what we are actually discussing here.
>>31560274I think the issue is that the decision process has be a bit divorced from the in character timeline. Like, we should be having this conversation at a company meeting, not in a different galaxy cluster.
>>31560177>Troy or Baron Archivald? Neither would have much need for it.i was thinking of Troy because he's with ground forces, but if it isn't something they're interested in then we won't have to waste time asking him.

The station we currently have is it generating any profits? If so how much?
>>31560329>I think the issue is that the decision process has be a bit divorced from the in character timeline. Like, we should be having this conversation at a company meeting, not in a different galaxy cluster.Good point. I should probably delay the vote on what additional modules and licenses you guys want the company to buy.>hold off until we've recovered the heavy cruiser and sold it to the house. Hopefully at that point we'll have a better idea of our financial position and be politically secure.Lots of support for this.People did vote to buy an extra industrial module along with the other gear the Anchorage needed on it's big mission so I will be including a vote on that one. Preferences? Or just ask Nikolov not to take it along, you just wanted to get it sooner rather than later.>>31560370.>if we do go down the route of building modular stations could we contact someone who makes station cores and see if we can get a contract of some kind?Certainly. You might just end up trading some regular modules for cores.>The station we currently have is it generating any profits?Yes it is. Heavy lifter and shuttle traffic with the surface has been increasing steadily. The Governor has been slowly expanding both of the other stations over the past few months.>If so how much? It's helping to pay the logistics costs for the RSS fleet and before that the repair and modernisation bills for the stations themselves.I haven't calculated it or the fleet upkeep costs which I dread the thought of doing. This seemed like a good way to solve both.
>>31560689>Industrial moduleIf the Anchorage is being sent after that other large ship, I'd say the Industrial Module should just be a 'sooner rather than later' deal. It will probably take weeks or months to even get our hands on it.>good way to solve boththat is actually a really good example of KISS. bravo.Speaking of those stations he is expanding... are there any station designs we could produce fairly quickly to replace/add to them, possibly built to later have modular station modules added or just plain have the station itself expanded?I just had a mental image of a Reynard Custom station that is actually a collection of smaller stations that our Anchorage can carry, with each connected to neighbors by a pair of modular station modules. Then again, a plain modular station would probably just be easier and cheaper in every way.
>>31560689>Yes it is. Heavy lifter and shuttle traffic with the surface has been increasing steadily. The Governor has been slowly expanding both of the other stations over the past few months.I thought those stations were supposed to be difficult/impossible to expand?
>>31560689Given that we can swap modules out, I vote for taking another industrial one for the operation.>Not calculating upkeepNo wonder we are so wondrously rich! Kidding aside, it might become a relevant figure as we expand. I suggest you think of a round sum that each employee and related expenditures cost each year. At 10k people (and we might just have more than that) and on average 10k per person that might mean another 100mil S in cost each year. no idea how much would fit there. There are some highly-trained professionals and overseers who visit dangerous sites and might easily earn 100k-250k IRL but probably also a lot of grunts. I also have no idea what the taxes per person and benefits we hand out cost. Repairing our ships might also cost something. Also, beware of autosage.

The Governor decided to bring in station cores, attached the existing smaller station to one side and mirrored it with additional modules on the other. >>31552916>Could he provide more detail about his father / House. I mean, if the House which conquered the land owned by his former House were to ever become our rival, I'm sure having someone like him with some kind of legal claim to the lands would be useful, politically speaking...His legal claim once a House is disbanded would be dubious at best. Usually any legitimate heirs are forced to renounce their claim to the House as part of the terms for surrender. Though you never know, wars between Houses have been started for less.
>>31561791Errant Venture for our new ship. Paint it red.
>>31561791I'm not sure what to check to make him just a normal escort for our salvage operations. I don't want to include him in our secret project. I don't want to ask him to do seemingly menial tasks, as he is likely to reject those as former heir of a house. Preferably, I'd have a job for him where he can prove himself in actual combat situations with professional escorts who could do the job if he is useless.
>>31561974If you haven't closed or completed it yet, try refreshing the page, I just added that option.
>>31561974I went with having him do 5 or more test including the escort things. If he can pass I said we should sell him the ship and send his name over to the Knights Errant.
>>31562124Yeah, that's good as well. The escort thing was meant more as an offer if he wants to gain actual experience with a cruiser without going directly to the front lines. Basically a way to earn a letter of recommendation if he's up to it. I'd just give him the ship (and warn him not to impersonate nobility in the future) if we proves he can handle it.
>>31562124I will be sad if bekka doesn't get the honor of breaking up our flight of errant vessels.Having 3 different classes of Errant is an interesting bragging right
So... are we going to have another "story" post or is this thread done?
>>31561791>Anyone want to archive?Done,.
>>31562716Thanks.>>31561317>Suddenly stations become the supply depose of this universe. They usually are, though for different reasons.Lets see, the botanist finally gets back to you having identified the plant."It appears to be a genetically modified form of Hemp, an old Earth plant. From the images I would say they're from a breed grown for oils and fibers.""I expected them to be drugs." you tell her"These breeds have almost no THC content, but if it's like other engineered versions of this type the CBD levels are likely incredibly high. This makes them valuable for treatment of rare medical conditions in humans.""That doesn't sound so bad.""Yes, it's unfortunate that Dro'all react poorly to it so it's largely banned in the Dominion. Some assassins are known to use it as a poison and it's rumored to sell well on the black market. Humans found to be carrying it are usually fined, but can't be criminally charged if they have a legitimate medical condition."It seems that the police arrested 4 individuals and confiscated a few of the plants. One of them claims to have one of these medical conditions which is being looked into. For the moment they've been charged with trespassing and illegal harvesting which will get them a few months. The police inform you that they lacked the manpower to do a proper cleanup of the plants in the area and you may want to destroy them yourself or hire someone to do so. As they were either brought in by the trespassers or were wild you have 2 months to remove them before you risk a fine yourself.>Your orders?
>>31562885>>Your orders?Contact medical companies producing drugs requiring these plants, farm it for two months, and then sell it to the highest legitimate bidder?
>>31562885Hire someone to do it.
>>31562923I'd rather just sell them.>>31562885How's healthcare in our House? Could they have been doing this because they cannot afford medical treatment?
>>31562885>The police inform you that they lacked the manpower to do a proper cleanup of the plants in the area and you may want to destroy them yourself or hire someone to do so.We should start bribing donating to the local police charities.
>>31562885Play it strait. Honestly, the tiny profit isn't worth the legal or reputation hassles.
>>31562885Do we have our ammo company make any plasma, incendiary, or phosphorus grenades?
>>31563010>>31562978Let's keep some seeds just in case we ever need to poison a Dro'all.
>>31563007Locale police was under-manned as far as I recall. Donating might actually help. But do we want to have well-staffed and equipped police near our home?
>>31562885Ha-ha! Offer Bekka and her squad a chance to make some money clearing it out with us. See if our men at arms would tag along for some pay/security, and maybe to give some weapons safety demonstrations and just relax.Endurance training, HO!
Well, seems like we're about to fall of the board. Thanks for the thread TSTG.Bekka was frighteningly D'aaaaw this time.
>>31563044>Do we have our ammo company make any plasma, incendiary, or phosphorus grenades? Not grenades no, mostly just ammo for rifles. They're gearing up one assembly line to produce your rifle at the moment.>>31562978>How's healthcare in our House? Could they have been doing this because they cannot afford medical treatment?Any diseases or conditions that might require the use of these medicines are usually treated by most Dominion Houses so that people do not have the excuse to have this stuff. The Healthcare is pretty good overall.>>31562923>>31562978Harvest/sell>>31562932>>31563010>>31563084Dispose of>Offer Bekka and her squad a chance to make some money clearing it out with us. Keep in mind that one of her friends is Dro'all. Then again I suppose you could rent some space rated suits and say that it's a hostile environment.>>31563045>keep some seeds just in case. You want a few put in the hidden section of the bunker complex?>>31563324Doing what I can. Hope you guys are enjoying yourselves. I don't know just yet what day the thread will be on next week. It may be a Tuesday thread as family will likely be pestering me to stop by on Monday.
>>31563402>Keep in mind that one of her friends is Dro'all. Then again I suppose you could rent some space rated suits and say that it's a hostile environment.Yes. Yes! YESYESYESYES!Bring a deckchair, a portable fridge, and watch them work. Maybe a whip too. It's time for our sister to do more than being adorable and causing diabeetus in Sonia.
>>31563402Nah, hire professionals.
>>31563402>Doing what I can. Hope you guys are enjoying yourselves.Definitely. I hope you'll have fun visiting your family.
>>31563402I only want to sell it if it is legal. Otherwise, just dispose of it. I'm indifferent to saving some seeds.Hire at least one professional to check that we found all plants and that they cannot do harm any more. Or go for overkill I suppose. Wildfire here we come. Thanks for the thread.
>>31563566Yeah, let's keep this legit and contract it out.
>>31563516>It's time for our sister to do more than being adorable and causing diabeetus in Sonia.I loled.>>31563675>I only want to sell it if it is legal. Not really.>Otherwise, just dispose of it.Okay.>>31563690Increasing support for proper disposal.Do you guys still want to take Bekka and Co out on that Endurance training one weekend?
>>31563814Offer it. It's their decision. I have no idea how useful it would be but it might be fun.
Thanks for running, TSTG.
