You are a broken cyborg on a mission to reclaim his stolen parts, and enact revenge on the harvesters who took them.Last thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/31040478/Twitter for updates: https://twitter.com/ReanimatorTGCharacter sheet: http://pastebin.com/Eg3hb16iLast time on Broken Cyborg Quest, we escaped from our captors and made it to the city of Cherol. We kind of killed the contact we were given, but we did find some of his friends. We managed to convince them that we're on their side.>"Where will they find the cyborgs to harvest?""Where are they going to find cyborgs to harvest anyway?" You ask. One of the men chuckles. "There's this bar not far from here called Black Flagon. Lots of those amped up aug addict tough guys like to hang around there and get into drunken brawls. Rolling drunken gearheads probably gives us most of our tech, to be honest." The man says, laughing. You force a weak laugh as well, effectively hiding how badly you want to shove your fist through this guy's face. "Alright, we'd better get going. Give Rich our best." The man says, and the two thugs depart. You lock the door behind them. You walk back over to the dead body behind the counter. "Now, what are we going to do with you..." You wonder aloud. It'll be nightfall soon, meaning you'll have a chance to hide the body soon. Afterwords, you should head to that Black Flagon place.>Take the body into the dumpster out back>Hide the body in the sewers>Custom
>>31058715The dumpster is a horrible idea, no matter what kind of hurry we're in to get to the Flagon. I say we wait until nightfall, put the body in a bag, and take it to the sewers carefully. Then we go to the bar.

But you can't stop the harvesters if you're jailed for murder, so your utmost priority right now is hiding the body and hiding it well. You peer through the blinds of the window and see that it's sunset, but not yet nighttime. It seems you've got a bit of time to kill before you go hide the body. You continue searching the room for any of Hayward's contacts. You also wouldn't mind finding a trashbag. After a bit of searching, you come across a stack of business cards bound by rubber bands. There are three business cards in the stack."Thomas Lowell - Criminal Defense Attorney""Joseph Roth - Mechanic""Terrance Kelso"The first man's job doesn't come at a surprise to you. Of course these guys would need someone to keep them out of hot water. The second guy is a little shocking. You got your leg fixed at that Roth fellow's shop. Could he possibly be involved in black market aug dealing? But this third person... There's no phone number or address listed, and it seems to just be a name written on a scrap of lined paper. You pocket the business cards. Checking the window once more, you find that night has arrived..........With the darkness of the night as your cover, you emerge from the shop with a black trashbag over your shoulders. As you walk along the empty streets, you come across a manhole. You place the body down beside you and lift it open, shoving it off to the side. You see a light shining in the distance, and the sound of footsteps accompanying. Shit. "Hey, what the hell's going on here?"Asks the voice. Even if he wasn't, you're not sure you can trust him. He did fold for you, so why wouldn't he fold against you? "So, what's your name?" You ask. "R-Ron. Ronald Parker is my name." He replies. "You got a family, Ron? A wife? Kids? Any parents or siblings you live with?" You ask him. Ron nods. "I've got a wife... And a... A baby girl on the way." He says quietly. "Well, Ron..." You begin. You jam your knife into his chest. "So did the people you harvested." You spit. He can't even speak as the shock surges through his body. "It's only fair that your next of kin should get the money from your augs, right? I'll see to it that it happens." You rip the knife from his chest, and his body falls to the ground in a limp bloody mess. You prep your jackknife aug again. This part is about to get messy.[ I'm going to take a break to get some food. Thanks for coming, guys. I'll be back in about an hour. Also, feel free to drop any questions or feedback in the thread. ]
>>31061635>>31061652Personally I'm imaging us as a cross between Adam Jensen and Oh Dae-su.
>>31061667We harvest now? We harvest now.
>>31061667Was there any reason behind the d10 rolls other than lending support? I mean, did they determine the success of our choice or not?
>>31061667Can we take his augments that we need/want?Now I feel bad he had a kid
>>31061667>we actually did itBased OP
>>31061686That's how I feel. Except that we did ask for this. Hell, we paid a lot of money for this
>>31061751We asked for it so hard that we're going on a murder spree to get our shit back. If anything we're JC Denton.
>>31061635>>31061652>>31061686Shouldn't there also be some of this guy in the mix?
>>31061725If he's got speed enhancement, we'll want it installed. So did the people he killed. At least his wife and kid will get SOME money from his death.
>>31061686I picked Marv because he started out as a nobody, met someone who actually cared about him, and went on a rampage to avenge that person. Replace that person with our augs and that's basically us.
>>31061816Do you really think they will pay his family. If anything they'll harvest there augments or organs because there is no one protecting them
>>31061798Damn, you're right.> capatcha: stayahb thecapatcha shows no remorse.
>>31061881>Do you really think they will pay his familyWhat? No, we're the one who's going to sell his augs and anonymously give the money to his family.Baker's Harvesters won't have a chance to go after Ron's family because we'll be hunting those Harvesters down.
>>31061798Hell yeah. We're just as ruthless in how we deal with criminals, and damn do we get the job done.
So we're an unholy amalgamation of the High Plains Drifter, Marv, Frank Castle, Adam Jensen, J.C. Denton, and pure, unadulterated thirst of vengeance. That about right?
This thread made me remember how great the original Deus Ex was. Didn't HR have actual tech harvesters in China?
>>31062092Sounds about right.
>>31061926What? No fuck that, his augs are ours. The family's just getting an inheritance. However, we should leave a note on him saying that we're coming for his family next. That way the cops should protect them.
>>31062092Pretty much.>>31062095Yeah. Invisible War had some, too.
>>31062095Yeah, HR did actually. Also, thanks for reminding me, off to buy the original DX and see what all the fuss is about
>>31062133>his augs are oursThey're not that great nor is there much that's new for us. And I don't want to leave behind any more evidence than is necessary.
>>31062176Ugh, fine, but at least keep some of the credits for ourselves. We need to be able to make money here.
>>31062176Also, I think part of the reason we even want our augs back is because they're OUR augs. It's like a personal vendetta thing; we like our augs, yeah. But the reason we want them back so badly is because they were taken from us, and by taking them back we're kind of taking back our dignity.
Don't forget, we need to reload both armguns. Some extra mags would certainly help. And so would specialty ammunition, if we could get it.At some point, we're bound to face someone with heavier augs or an armored vehicle that we would need armor-piercing rounds to penetrate.
>>31062133> we should leave a note on him saying that we're coming for his family next. That way the cops should protect them.Problem is, his kid's not born yet. the stress on mom wouldn't be good for the two of them.>>31062176>They're not that great nor is there much that's new for us.Does he have the speed aug? The speed we need?
>>31062286>because they're OUR augsWell, that, and they're fucking HIGH CLASS augs, close to mil-spec, from what we were told about them in the first thread.More likely than not much better than the stuff we're pulling from Ron here.
>>31062336>Does he have the speed augAs one of Baker's men, he should have the enhanced movement speed aug. All of his men have handguns and the speed aug.Though now that Baker knows we're after him, they might be upgrading their firepower.
>>31062376For one guy? Nah. They'll just be on alert, and actively searching for us
>>31062425We also shot Baker. He didn't like it.>AAAGH! SHIT!" Baker yells, clutching his side. Looks like you got him. He begins to slow down, but a car begins to pull up to bail them out. "No way," you say, aiming your guns at the tires. Click, click... ...And nothing. Fuck, you're out. Baker throws you one of the dirtiest looks you've ever recieved as he climbs into the car. "You're fucking DEAD, motherfucker! Sleep with one eye open! We'll fucking FIND YOUR ASS!"
>>31062458Yes, but he's not gonna order a comete overhaul and upgrade on his guards to find one guy. He's still gotta make money, and that shit costs it
>>31062525>order a comete overhaul and upgrade on his guards to find one guy. They all already have the speed enhancement aug.To increase firepower, he just needs to get a crate of assault rifles through whatever arms dealer contacts he has to upgrade from their handguns.
>>31061720When I started the quest, I didn't expect many people to participate. In other low-traffic quests I'd seen, often only two people would reply to a post. If they selected different options, then the quest would be stuck going nowhere until someone bit the bullet and samefagged just to move shit along. I didn't want that to happen, so I decided to make people roll when posting so that if there was ever a stalemate in votes due to lack of people, I could just move along. It actually did end up breaking a few ties for me early on, but we picked up steam, so there's not much of a reason to use the system. If an option ever did gain extremely high rolls, though, I would usually make sure it worked well.Writing next entry now, stay tuned.
>>31061667You stand above the dismembered body, stripped of its augments. You flip your jackknife shut. Your work here is done. "You know, you aren't really a whole lot better than them if you're just doing the same thing." Someone says behind you. He sounds familiar. You turn around to see Bill, the man you saved from the harvesters earlier. "Someone has to help his family eat now that he's dead. That's what these are for." You reply, stuffing the machinery into your bag. "I guess." Bill mutters."Thank you for your help in the bar, by the way. I'd be dead if it weren't for you." He says, offering a small smile. "I could say the same to you," you reply. "Unless I made a really lucky guess, I take it your name isn't Bill?" You inquire. The guy laughs a little. "Kyle. And how 'bout yourself?" He asks, extending his hand to you.>Shake his hand and tell him your name>Shake his hand, but give him a fake name>Custom
>>31063127>Shake his hand and tell him your name
>>31063127>Shake his hand, but give him a fake nameIt's safer. Also tell him he'd better go to ground until we finish taking care of Baker; Baker and his crew saw his face, and might come after him.
>>31063127>Shake his hand and tell him your nameNot like our first name's going to do any harm.
>>31063127Shake his hand, let him know we're one of the nine divines.
>>31063165Or he could join usOp, how well augged is he?
>>31063148>>31063165>>31063171>>31063175>Real name: 3>Fake name: 1You shake his hand firmly, metal hand meeting metal hand. "Talos," you introduce yourself. "It's a pleasure, Talos." He says, releasing the handshake. "I kind of need to get back to the whole dead harvester thing. So if you don't mind, I-" "Oh, no problem. I get it." Kyle says, beginning to turn and leave. He stops himself. "Actually... You're fighting back against the harvesters, right? You're trying to stop them?" He asks. You nod. "Then... If you need any help, I'm your guy." He offers.>"You can start by helping me get rid of this body.">"Thanks, but I'm better off going it alone.">Custom>>31063203You can see that he has fully mechanical arms. You don't know anything else. [ I might have to stop again soon, just got a bit of an alarming text. Personal shit's getting real. ]
>>31063447>"You can start by helping me get rid of this body."
>>31063447>"You can start by helping me get rid of this body."But we want to be careful that the police don't get mixed up in this.
>>31063447>"You can start by helping me get rid of this body."Instead of a "party member", I envision we should use this guy as more of an informant/gopher, just going around and doing shit that we need done for us. He'll be cool in combat, too... But I think stealth would generally work better as a one man thing.
>>31063515>>31063498>>31063485>>31063588>Ask for help: 4"You can start by helping me get rid of this body." You suggest, gesturing to the bloody mess of a person behind you. "Sure." Kyle says, walking over to the corpse. He lifts the guy up and hoists him over his shoulders. "Where were you planning on putting it?" "The sewers, probably.""Not a bad idea."You check to make sure the coast is clear before signaling for Kyle to follow you out of the alley. You find a manhole, and lift it for Kyle to take the body down. As Kyle begins to take down the body, you can hear someone approaching. "God damnit, every time you try to hide a body in this city-" you begin to rant, but Kyle stops you. "Just meet me at the Flagon tomorrow morning and we'll talk. See ya, Talos." Kyle says, disappearing down the manhole. You close it up as he disappears. You see a police officer pass shortly after Kyle has left. That could've been bad.You leave the town's inner city. It seems your business is finished here for the night. You walk into the inn to get a good night's rest after all that fighting. "Welcome." The manager greets you. "A room for the night is 75 credits." >Pay the fee>Leave and sleep outside
>>31063894>Pay the feeAsk for a room on either the ground or second floor, near the emergency exit stairs.
>>31063894>Pay the feeDo we have a house or apartment?
>>31063971Nah, we just came into town.
>>31063971We were living by ourselves out in the desert as a hermit, with mil-spec augs, because we were afraid of tech harvesters coming to take our precious augments. It didn't turn out too well.
>>31064036>>31063971>>31063924You buy a room at the inn and decide to head off to sleep. But before you do, you take another look at the strange augment you found earlier in the pawn shop. You have no idea what it could be used for, but it appears to be a cerebral augment of some sort. You look out the window of the city, looking out at the night sky. The harvesters of this town have another thing coming. You'll get your parts back, and make them regret ever taking them. You'll bring this city justice; and you'll bring this city vengeance.[ That's all for now, folks. ]
>>31064547Didn't we get a bunch of our augs back when we killed that pawnshop guy?
>>31064609yea, but there are a ton of others still out there.
>>31064609Yeah, but in the first thread it was stated that most of our augs were shipped and sold elsewhere already. The pawn shop only had a handful.
>>31064547Thanks for running, OP.
>>31064547If you're still here, any idea of when next thread will be? Will there be a thread tomorrow?
>>31064756There will most likely be a thread tomorrow. I'm just too busy to run until late tonight again like I did yesterday because of some personal shit I have to attend to. I'll go ahead and say you can expect a thread tomorrow at 11 again, and if not 11 then probably around 1. I'll let everyone know ahead of time on the twitter.
>>31064791Cool. Thanks for keeping us updated.
>tfw missed the threadit was good tho. looking forward to the next one.
