You wonder if she doesn't actually just live in the office building. "Morning, Jenner." You."Morning, Producer." Jenenr nods at your arrival. "We have a busy day today. New staff, new purchase options...">Meet your new support staff.>Meet your new performance idol.>Go find your new combat idol.>Check the shop.>Other
>>30923294>Meet your new performance idol.
I think Cole and the new combat idol are going to be rivals and fight often, mostly for the fact that Cole has the ability to disable augs and the augs in question probably don't have military grade shielding. Things can potentially get ugly if Cole disables the other's leg or arm as a perceived joke. To some, that would be the equivalent to taking away someone's independence.
>>30923294>Meet your new performance idol.Merc, aren't you supposed to be watching Strikers?

>>30923737My ideal setup is 2 hummers, carapace armor for Julie, and upgraded armor for everyone else, and save for the next game-changing item.If we equip like a predictable military unit, then we still are going to be at a disadvantage because the DeRosa girls are probably well trained against conventional threats. Therefore, we need to gain serious advantages such as an overpowered Railgun or something that gives us a similar edge.

>>30923984I dunno bout that. If you look carefully at your barracks when you're off mission, you can see that mimetic skin doesn't turn off and fades in and out.Bad idea for an entertainer to have. Maybe good for a roadie, but not an idiol.

>>30924018Teenage hormones will kick in and they'll fuck like rabbits.

Inside you see a rather young looking man sitting down in one the chairs, wearing a doctor's coat. Next to him, you also see a young blonde girl in a nurse uniform, presumably his assistant."Producer, this is Dr. Stiles, formerly of the Caduceus Medical Group." Jenner says. "Dr. Stiles, this the Producer.""Pleasure to meet you." I need to get this off my chest:If we do stoop to the level as the competition and sabotage another idol's performance, is that implying we don't have faith in our lineup's ability to perform and we must make someone else look bad to make them look good in comparison; and can the girls' ability to capture the hearts and minds of the public improve when we merely hinder the competition's capabilities to the point where we don't need to constantly seek self-improvement? I will try not to involve "morals" in the following as it is already self-explanatory. I agree that the competition should at least respect us out of fear or admiration, but for me, sabotaging another idol's performance would only hinder the growth of our own idols as there is no challenge when we move the "finish line" closer instead of making them run the extra mile.Competition can be a good thing as it gives our idols a reason to improve their skills and it gives us a goal to aspire to and surpass. If we remove all of the competition, there would be no reason to improve on performance skills and we would just improve combat/sabotage skills which will make us more like guns for hire rather than an idol company. Sabotaging performances will also make us hated (which we NEED to avoid at all costs) and could cause rival companies to band together to take us down (this is a bad thing).Let's say we make it to the top of the food chain and we decide to sabotage anyone who tries to get our seat of power, this would cause our performance skills to stagnate and our fans decide to follow more entertaining idols. The problem is that we need to be feared. Sure we can go do a backstage op and do absolutely nothing, showing what we COULD have done to the competition, but we can't do that forever or else all of our threats lose their bite. This leaves us with a conundrum, how do we instill fear without being hated?(1/2)
>>30924368Ask about his reasons for joining, experience and his assistant, are we gonna pay her a separate salary or is she some sort of robot assistant?
>>30923294Merc, can we get a list of skills thr Producer has?
>>30924368>Ask them What brings them to Clover Entertainment>Ask about their experience and skill set>Warn them that our idols are a bit unique
>>30924470Simple. We make them fear us by showing them how devoted we are to ensuring that we give the audience the best quality performance, and annihilating any saboteur that dares fuck with our bread and butter. Every time our rivals come upon a pile of saboteurs on their doorstep, we are sending them a message: "Don't fuck with us, or else." Our rivals should fear what would happen to them if we are pushed too far. We can also flex our muscle in front of our rivals without being hated by doing the idol industry's equivalent to "military exercises". For example, put a girl in a marksmanship contest to show her skill with firearms, have some girls take part in a mixed-martial arts or something similar to show their prowess in hand to hand combat, or even put them in a marathon to show their endurance, etc. All of this being an elaborate showing of our "Big Stick". This won't piss off rivals directly, it shows that they shouldn't mess with us, and it can give us publicity.(2/2)
>>30924437>>30924446The vote was unanimous and I was complaining about arguing where there was none.
>>30924368>Ask"How familiar are you with treating bio-augmented and cyber-augmented patients? Not in installing augs, but in the differences of treating people with them from baselines in trauma situations. Especially one that could shortcircuit any machines you have and shock you through your scalpel."
>>30924598Seconding this. Our problem will not be installation of genetic mods or augs, but rather keeping a girl who is in severe pain from shocking everything in the room or breaking restraints.
>>30924509First we need to get to that point of strength, we are no superpower yet. We can still get cut down by black ops idols quite easily, given our low population.
>>30924470>>30924509While I agree with your sentiment, I fear it's too simplistic. There will always be some ambitious asshole trying to get ahead, or any other irrational producer that is more greedy than smart.I think it would be best to establish a cartel of idol groups to stabilize the market. Kinda like telecom or ISPs. Collude with each other and the government to create high barriers of entry and strangle any potential competition.
>>30924679>>30924470>>30924509Damn, this quest is making me read more Sun Tzu and Machiavelli.
>>30924488a pastebin of a list of all the skills and what they do exactly isn't a bad idea.
>>30924745Second this, good idea. And once we get our hacker, a intel report of the DeRosa girls and their producer will be useful.
>>30924368"Well, Caduceus is a pretty impressive spot on your resume." You say, eyeing the young doctor. "What exactly is your experience?""Well, I've been in a warzone or two, if that's what you're worried about." Dr. Stiles laughs lightly. "So I'm well versed in battlefield injuries, so you shouldn't be afraid. I've treated many soldiers like you before.""You're pretty sharp." You grin. "How did you know?""Oh, just the way you walk, as well as your arms. Veterans have a distinct stiffness to their stride due the training they're indoctrinated with, and the moment I felt your arms, I knew they were military grade augs.""Good, good." You nod. "Then you must also realize that it's not my own well being I'm worried about...""Yes, I'm very well aware of the realities of the idol business." Dr. Stiles sighs. "Then why'd you leave Caduceus to work for a lowly idol company like ours?" You ask."To put it frankly, I needed a break." Dr. Stiles sighs. "While highly respected, Caduceus' high standards means low membership. Getting shuttled around to crisis zones all over the world can get exhausting. I just... decided a change of pace was needed, so I took an indefinite leave of absence. I thought starting up a small practice in Delta City would be the change of pace I needed. By joining up with you, I don't need to worry about finding my own office."Heh, this was a pretty sharp guy."And your assistant?" You motion to the nurse."Ah, how rude of me!" Dr. Stiles chuckles. "This is my assistant, Angela Thompson. She sort of the one that gets me to finish my work!""Because he's a lazy bum otherwise." Angela grins and shakes your hand. "A pleasure.""You don't have to worry about paying her. She works pro bono." Dr. Stiles adds. "I, however, still have living expenses.""All right." You nod. Well, from the sounds of it, he seems like a capable doctor, and his references and letters of recommendation check out.>Ask him anything else?
>>30924798>Ask him anything else? How is he with unusual patients? Like electric shock abilities and potential combat augs? Also the mentally unstable? And does he know the nature of the Idol Business? It's rather cutthroat and our girls are going to get injured, as much as we can avoid it.
>>30924798"How familiar are you with treating bio-augmented and cyber-augmented patients? Not in installing augs, but in the differences of treating people with them from baselines in trauma situations. >>30924880This. We need to know if he is experienced with potentially dangerous patients.
>>30924798Obligatory, does Angela want to be an idol? We should ask Falynn this too. heheheeheh.
>>30924798>Ask him anything else?"if you already or could get access to bio mods or cybernetic augs, can you install them in others or at least repair them if they already have them?"
>>30924852>>30924869>>30924886Well, he did say that he's been in warzones before, and he identified our augs, so he's probably good with the cyber-augs. But bio-augs are probably still unusual enough in militaries that the bio-aug question is still valid.
>>30924798Ask him on his experience on unusual experience.Like Justice Girl and Cole, Rochelle is something he already has experience with.
>>30924798"So, I assume you have experience with patients with more 'exotic' conditions?" You ask. "Like with augs and genemods?""Augs have been covered in every standard medical curriculum for years now." Dr. Stiles sniffs. "Genemods are little trickier, but I like to think myself as a doctor that can work miracles on the fly.""Well, just for full discretion, we have one highly genemodded idol in our employ. She can generate electricity, so I'm not sure how that would affect your operations.""Thanks, I'll keep that in mind." Dr. Stiles nods."All right, Producer, we have many other appointments to keep up with. Let's leave Dr. Stiles and Miss Thompson here to get acquainted with their new surroundings.""Sure." You nod. "Now we check our hacker?""Yes, they're waiting in the data center.">Choose one!>INTRUSION EXPERT: Bonus to infiltrating enemy systems.>CYBERSECURITY EXPERT: Bonus to defending systems from enemy intrusion.>SOFTWARE ENGINEER: Bonus to crafting specialized support programs.

ARMORED SUV - 2000The ultimate in VIP protectiong, armored SUVs combine both form and function. Its modifications are mostly concealed, making it harder to spot in a crowd. Seats up to 8.BALLISTIC VEST - 500Similar to the tactical vest, the ballistic vest is mainly composed of kevlar and other tough synthetic fabrics. However, it also contains pockets to insert armored ballistic plates to grant an improved amount of protection. CARAPACE ARMOR - 1000Carapace armor is essentially a ballistic vest designed to cover the whole body instead of the center of mass, adding improved protection to extremities and the head. >>30925838because it's one of the main things she was noted for on the show.
>>30925753"Alright, thanks for your time." You nod. "Also, a word of advice, our idols can get a bit... friendly. There is a very high chance of them attempting to kidnap you in the future in order to attend social events."You see Himawari pale slightly."I think I'll put some extra locks on the door."You just don't have the heart to tell her how ineffective that would be."Alright, what do have left?" You ask Jenner as you leave the data center."A lot more things." She sighs.>Check the shop.>Meet your new performance.>Go recruit your next combat idol.>Other
>>30925922>>Check the shop.Need an update.
>>30925922>>Meet your new performance.
>>30925922>Meet your new performance.
>>30925922>>Meet your new performance.I'm curious as to who the performance one is and how well she'd mesh with Rin.
>>30925922>Meet your new performance.>Go recruit your next combat idol.>Check the shop.In this order. It would be dumb to shop before we know who else is on the team.
>>30925922>>Go recruit your next combat idol.Slum fishing is a go!
>>30925922>>Check the shop.if we place an order now before we meet the idol, we might be able to get the armored suv before we leave for the tombs
>>30925940I hope it's the one of the two girls in front of the pic.
>>30925958I'm hoping we can mitigate most of the attention by taking Cole's and Julie's advice.
>>30925964my worry is the new girl upstaging Rin (our foundation of the group)
>>30925922>Meet our next performance idolOur next combat idol will need more time so let's see which punk/goth/rock/polka idol we got.
>>30925964Where is that pic from?>>30925985Spotlight sharing issues is going to happen anyways, we just need to deal with it.
>>30926018Idolm@ster: Cinderella GirlsThe two girls up front are Ranko and Koume. Here are some more examples:http://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/1336179http://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/1573216
>>30926018>Spotlight sharingor we can do the smart thing and have them be in groups and pairs, or have them alternate in the middle like they do in the game, and show.
>>30926055I'm under the assumption that it's going to be like 30 Rock, with egos fighting each other. Or it can go swimmingly well, but I'm assuming the worse.
>>30926064I want both.
So will they ever translate an idol master game?
>>30926054some more info: it's a mobile game with a lot of idols, which means tons of variety, "quirks" (such as a certain teenage cow farmer/girl), but not as much depth as the original cast.
>>30926103Not likely as it'd be very niche and Namco isn't known for letting other companies localize their stuff.Though this reminds me of a story of Victor Ireland (working designs head) having an insane idea of making a US idolmaster which would be Idolmaster in name only.
>>30926134>Idolmaster in name onlyWhat would be so hard with making a US version? It's a girl band and you're their manager. Make sure they sing well. That's it.
>>30926096The hell are up with her sleeves?
>>30926113true, many of the idols are 'focused' on one trait or personality quirk as a gimmick.
>>30926096koume is love koume is life
>>30926153>>30926134I just love micro managing and rhythm games, and idol master sounded like a perfect game for me.too bad i can't read moon.
>>30926153the reason why I called it insane was that it would focus more on US stars such as boy bands,etc.>>30926160Great for doujin fodder, though for those are fans of the originals, they might feel upstaged/etc. The other side games aren't much better with the DS game having a Trap idol (gotta appeal to the closeted crowd!)
>>30926193Dearly stars is fantastic and Ryou-chan is love.
>>30926153probably harder than you might think. Japan takes their Idol industry seriously. For us in the U.S., we focus more on the whole band than just the lead singer for the most part.
>>30926185it has that elements in it, but it's also like pokemon. You have to buy or get cards to play it on the systems.
>>30925964I like Kaede Takagaki but that might bring trouble
>>30925922>>Meet your new performance.oh man. I suggested getting a Punk idol last thread - its high time to put cyber and the punk in the title - and I'm glad you guys decided to back it and not get princess peach or whatnot.i wanna see whom we got! Also:>meet perfomance idol>Introduce her to the group! making sure everyone plays along nice is gonna be crucial!
>>30925922"Let's go meet our new performance idol." You say."Sure thing." Jenner nods. "Now, just a fair bit of warning, I couldn't find an ACTUAL punk idol, since, generally speaking, 'genuine' punks consider idols their antithesis.""Yeah, I sort of figured that."""So, well, I had to take some liberties." Jenner shrugs. "But I believe she's still a solid choice."She then passes you a folder. You open it up to see the profile of your new idol.Niko Yamada, 18, a Japanese immigrant. Has a record of minor juvenile delinquency and had some rather outspoken beliefs about recreational use of augs and genemods. However, other than some slight liberal and anti-establishment tendencies, she seemed solid enough."Well, she certainly is a world apart from Rin." You concede. You then enter the meeting room where Niko is waiting. As somewhat expected, she's messing with a tablet with her booted feet resting on the table.Kids."Yo!" She says, setting her tablet aside and waving.>What do you say to her?
>>30926326Tell her the truth about the idol business and ask if she wants to back out after hearing it all.
>>30926326...She seems to act like Cole for some reason or is that just me?Well anyway, introduce yourself and maybe test her skills
>>30926326So an audition? We do need to hear her sing.
>>30926326"Sup, tell me 'bout your cred...... or something like that."
>>30926326Greet her, ask her why she wants to be an Idol. Then Full Disclosure of what it entails.
>>30926369They're comparable, but Cole is clearly lower class while Niko is middle class.
Oh yes, when we find our combat idol, we need to upgrade her augs to have military shielding. We don't need EMP taking her out of the fight (or Cole pulling pranks on her).
>>30926326Ask about what made her want to be an idol, i guess
>>30926426That should be doable. Falynn + Stiles should be able to do something.
>>30926326Oh wait, the Transformers girl? This might just work!Well let's first ask her about her criminal record and her stance on biotech. Then maybe we can move on to a little bit of an example of her singing and dancing.
can we have a infodump/skill roll about Japanese history and politics (from 2010 to today)?
>>30926326>Niko YamadaDoes anyone recognize this character?
>>30926398I find that the difference is that Cole is the true punk while Nico seems to be the activist. Not sure if good thing but should be given a chance
>>30926494Hiroshima was nuked again, an Apocalypse class Invader tore through downtown Tokyo, and (more recently) an old Jap battleship was raised off the bottom in an attempt to threaten Pacific shipping lanes. The good news is that they've recovered from their economic depression and are on the cusp of taking over the world with cheap electronic goods. Any day now the dollar will be replaced by the yen. Any day now...
>>30926326>What do you say to her?"you worked in this industry before? let me see what you can do."
>>30926326I think this might work. Enough punk to convince the jack offs that she's punk, but not enough to alienate anybody. Cole is already true punk, but I don't expect her to play well on the camera.
>>30926531She is from the latest transformers series, transformers prime. Jenner is right, she is not true punk, but I think this can work, as long as she maintains her appeal.
>>30926531She's the spunky human girl character from that show Transformers Prime. Aired on the same network that airs the show about the little pastel colored horses. Was a pretty solid show--they got Peter Cullen to do Optimus, though they kept the Bayformers Megatron design.
>>30926724Meh, I was perfectly happy with the Bayformers designs. The terrible scripts from the second and third movies is what I have issue with. Thank God Shia Lebouf has retired at least.
>>30926747The show has little in common with Bayformers, they only kept the design.
>>30926717is that so? so then, what shows did our Idols we have so far come from then?
>>30926804I think Rin's from some sort of Idolmaster gameCole is named after the Infamous MC, dunno other than that.No idea where Julie or Rochelle is from.
>>30926804Cole's design came from Coppelion.Julie's design changes from RWBY to a fanbook of Call of Duty.Rin is from the previously mentioned Cinderella GirlsRochelle is from Tari Tari, I believe.
>>30926804Sorry, I'm not so familiar with the references of the other characters
>>30926724man, i must have missed out on a lot. I stop watching when beast wars ended.
>>30926840You've basically missed nothing.

>>30926962Doubt it, I feel the sniper will be the pink haired girl from Akame ga Kiru, Morgan, or maybe Suo from Darker then Black just because I like her
>>30926992Maybe Morgan and Falynn won't get along as a throwback to the previous quest.
>>30926923Oh derp.Anyway, let's see that fail.
>>30926992>Suo>just because I like her
>>30926981Do it now, I dare you.
>>30927031Obviously for our first male idol we need Chinese Electric Batman, just to serve as Cole's male brooding counterpart.Oh God what am I saying?
>>30927031Suou, My bad.and that' is my wishful thinking if we get a sniper
>>30926326"So um, what made you want to be an idol?" You ask. Might as well start with the important question first."Oh, well, you know, I sorta thought it'd be cool to get into, and I was also sorta hoping I could piss my parents off in the process." She says a bit quickly and with a big enthusiastic grin on her face."Wait, can you run that by me again?" You raise an eyebrow."Oh yeah, well, my parents are actually still back in Japan. They sent me here to 'improve my educational opportunities', but I was like, 'screw that'. I thought it'd be cool if I could get into showbiz. Seemed way more exciting than trying to study to be a stuffy old engineer or doctor or whatever the hell Mom and Dad want me to be."Oh, well, you should've expected to be dealing with a spunky, rebellious teen. However, she was over eighteen, so she had the right to make her own choices. "All right, about this criminal record you've have...""Oh, that, yeah, I sorta got mixed in with a few gangs. Mostly just did small stuff, like vandalism and graffiti. Got picked up by the cops a couple times, and my parents were PISSED when they found out!" Niko chuckles. "But yeah, that was in high school. Now I sort of need to look for a job, and lo and behold, I see you guys are hiring!"(cont)
>>30927068"You understand, that in order to get the job, you have to have some experience in both singing and dancing." You point out. As you say this, you scan the notes Lillith added in to Niko's file. Apparently, Lillith classified Niko as a typical middle to upper class psuedo-punk. They were attracted to the punk lifestyle, but were unwilling to make the sort of commitment to be a "true" punk .Usually they just adopted their fashion and resorted to minor crime to make themselves feel like proper punks.Lillith also added in a note that she suspected Niko's punkish behavior was merely her way to try and attract her parents' attention. Delinquency, after all, was one of the most common methods children resorted to when dealing with neglect.Well, you suppose it could be worse. She could've been a murderous psychopath with superpowers."Okay, yeah, I can do that!" Niko nods rapidly. "I've like, done soooooooo much karaoke and DDR that I can literally memorize most of the stuff by heart!">Haha! Time to choose Niko's themesong! Post your suggestions and if I really like one of them, well, we'll see what happens!

>>30927280i guess we could call it 'faux punk' 'spunky' or just plain 'Tomboy' appeal.
>>30927302Basically what the last session of DAQ amounted to and it was glorious.
Also, to everyone else that hasn't watched Transformers prime, despite her rebellious nature and tendency to disregard orders, she is actually a very nice, sweet, and brave person that values her friends, so we'll be hitting the sweet spot fake-punk and getting well with our other idols, except maybe Cole but that's not saying much.
>>30927280Oh, I'm not disagreeing to not pick her up (Unless she can't sing or dance).it's just I imagine her following Cole around learning on how to be a punk. Or try (and fail) to up punk her

Why hire this girl?
>>30927328Is Cole completely punk? Yeah, she's rebellious and streetwise, but is she punk?
>>30927198Well, you have to admit, for somebody who was basically self taught, Niko wasn't too bad. She even adds in a few dance moves, despite the relatively cramped confines of the meeting room. You make sure to record what you're seeing and broadcast it over to Ushiyama. "So what do you think?" You ping him."Hmmm, she's certainly a bit rough, nothing I can't salvage." He sniffs. "At least I won't have to start from scratch, unlike the combat idol you're going to be hiring soon.""So much confidence." You say sarcastically."But yes, I believe I can train this Niko up to Rain's standards, assume she sticks with the program.""Oh, I'm sure she will." You assure him. Finally, Niko's impromptu audition ends, and she stands panting."Well, how did I do?""Not bad." You say. "We'll take you in. If you do well, we'll consider making the position permanent.""YESSS!" Niko fistpumps. "Thank you!""Now, there's the matter of accommodation...""Well, I have an apartment my parents are paying for, buuuuuut, if they find out what I'm doing the might cut me off..." >>30927365She appeals to market demographics not fully explored by the existing idol industry and therefore represents a significant growth opportunity for our business. When 'real punks' call her out on not being a real punk and accuse us of being bullshit shysters the 'realer punks' will point to Cole and call those punks fags.
>>30927376>>Well, you're free to stay here in the dorms if you want.>OtherWarn her about the dangers of being the idol, this can't be half hearted.Rin at least showed she was willing to take the risk
>>30927386Punk is a very specific subculture. To outsiders like you and me it's like the difference between goth and emo, but to insiders it's serious business.Niko could get along with Cole, but I don't think they're in the same subculture. Oh shit...I just made a dire epiphany. With Cole and Julie out of the Tombs for this long, was there a power vacuum during their absence?
>>30927432This. This is good.
>>30927441That's what we're here to find out.
>>30927441What, it's not like things are going to get worse.>INB4 things get really worse.
>>30927439Yeah, but only means that what we consider punk is mainstream and in order to really rebel you have to either become a reactionary conservative (like straight edge punks) or go all out.Even so, the culture of the Tombs probably has some subtitles that Niko's brand of punk might notice and look down on (or possibly look up to for being REALLY hardcore). But my original point remains. I don't think Cole and Niko are in the same subculture.
>>30927441Probably.Maybe a state of war.Which is why an armored car delivered now might be a good idea.
>>30927441We should take our combat idols with us. All of them.
>>30927474Hopefully, the most violent ones were offed during the initial stages of the potential turf war.
>>30927471Not same person, but I totally agree. Which is why we need to bring Niko with us in the tombs to fix this gap.>>30927474Better to not attract attention, which Cole and Julie will help us with.
>>30927471I don't see that as a bad thing. Now we can appeal to both.
>>30927491Well, I think just talking to Niko and Cole about the subject might be an easier approach. We want these two to become friends so we should probably shanghai Cole into becoming Niko's mentor. I think she'd like the responsibility (and maybe get her morale back up to 8)
>>30927441>With Cole and Julie out of the Tombs for this long, was there a power vacuum during their absence?>new leader rises from the ashes>we recruit them>gradually skim the cream of the crop into productive members of society>underworld experiences a pop culture revolution as their teammates get seen on tv, and they realize idoling is a way out of it>reform tombs over the next few years because that's where our audiences are.
>>30927485And we run into one of the WHYs of getting the car.Not enough space for all of them in our vsn +jenner + the new girl.
>>30927376"Well, you're free to stay here in the dorms if you want." You say. "Most of our own idols stay here too.""Nice!" Niko grins. "And I do have to warn you, competition in the idol business is pretty cutthroat, in the literal fashion." You warn. "Yeah, well, isn't that what guys like you are supposed to be for? To keep us safe?""That's true." You chuckle.>Take Niko to visit the other idols.>Consult the shop.>Go recruit your combat idol.>Other

>>30927534Get her to promise to not make trouble i the dorms like graffiti, loud music or whatever>>Go recruit your combat idol.
>>30927534>>Take Niko to visit the other idols.>>>Consult the shop.>>>Go recruit your combat idol.In this order.>>30927545>I'm mostly expecting Niko to irritate the shit out of Cole, but hey, they can surprise me.Cole actually got along pretty well with the other girls! they bonded over things once they started talking. If anything is going to be a point of contention between those two, its going to be her Intelligence and Wealth. She's obviously smart and nerdy, but more importantly her parents are giving her a free ride to life/college - which is something cole never had.
>>30927441It's a shame we can't just get the Tunnel Snakes to establish some form of outpost to fill in the void of Cole and Julie.
>>30927573I'm more afraid that Niko is going to try to be punk and imitate Cole, which will really irritate Cole because she is just some middle-class wannabe that has no respect to the conditions in the tombs. Which is why I'm pushing for the visit to the tombs.
>>30927573Hopefully Cole takes pride in her spartan lifestyle.
>>30927601Which is why we need to start a marketing scheme in the tombs and take over that district. We need to get promotional AK-74s and ammo from Marcus and give them out in raffles to loyal fans.
>>30927534>Go recruit your combat idol.
>>30927605Spartan...Hah, it's probably filled with Junk food wrappers, textbooks (forced by the producer), and a hidden snack stash
>>30927603Reminds me of the Batman comic: Fortunate Son, in which a rock and roll star starts having a hissy fit over "selling out" and being from a non-impoverished lifestyle instead of living as a person born into poverty.
>>30927626That sounds like an extremely bad idea
>>30927601To add to myself:>>30927626We also need to stage death tournaments sponsored by Marcus and Hyperion so people can start dying for entertainment instead of stupid reasons.
>>30927649I think you severely underestimate how bad the tombs are. AK-74s are probably cheaper than bread, we're just making sure our gang, I mean loyal fanbase has guns with our brand.
>>30927654As mentioned in a previous thread, let's hope that there are no superpowered gangs running about or the whole city will be in deep shit.
>>30927603So what, you'd bring Niko into the Tombs like the Griswolds brought their children around the bad side of St. Louis?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwBoa-NbNL8
>>30927654That sounds like something Hyperion is already engaged in. At least, in so far as the basic concept goes.We could kick it up a notch by having our combat idols hunt death row inmates in the Tombs.
>>30926981>>30927032>>30927263Oi, faggots. I said it and I meant it. >>30927677Sorry for hijacking your thread Merc baby, but some of these posters get under my skin.
>>30927603I fear this too. Bringing Niko to the tombs is a bad idea.Just talk to Cole and Niko about how their cultures are different. If they're different. I mean, what music does Cole listen to anyway?
>>30927534"All right, Niko, how about we introduce you to the other idols?" You say."Cool!" Niko grins and nods. "Lead the way!"You, Niko, and Jenner make your way up the stairs to the dorms. However, when you open the door, you are greeted with a somewhat surprising sight. There, on the floor of the recreation area, you see all of your idols plus Falynn all fast asleep, arms legs and bodies all tangled in an unrecognizable mess. Pizza boxes and empty soda cans lay discarded everywhere and the TV was still on.This was a little more than embarrassing."AW MAN!" Niko groans. >>30927776Morale hits annoy me.I'm still vexed that we lost Cole morale because, of all things, we kept our communications gear on during a mission. What if she'd been attacked while dancing? Or we'd needed her to break off and go kill someone? Her getting pissy over that was entirely unreasonable and I'm not sure we've ever even explained to her why that was.
>>30927815We chose to spy on Cole during a private moment with a boy. The morale hit was well deserved.Teenagers have privacy issues just as much as they have independence issues.
>>30927815Relax, these things happen
>>30927815It was totally IC, though.
>>30927815>I'm still vexed that we lost Cole morale because, of all things, we kept our communications gear on during a mission. What if she'd been attacked while dancing? Or we'd needed her to break off and go kill someone? Her getting pissy over that was entirely unreasonable and I'm not sure we've ever even explained to her why that was.We actually haven't talked to her about it, yetWe should. There's a chance to make her understand, and forgive us - and maybe not gain morale, but recover the loss .Anyway:have jenner wake people up while we go to the store. They're not gonna be in Tactical Exercise shape at all like this.
>>30927815We were in 100% overprotective dad mode, it's not even a question. There was no legitimate reason beyond shot-in-the-dark paranoia to leave the line open and eavesdrop. Not to say shot-in-the-dark paranoia isn't a generally positive trait in parents within reason, since with teenagers it's often fully justified, but it also pisses said teenagers off something fierce since they're 15 and invincible and infallible.
>>30927835No, we chose to keep our communications gear on during a potentially (but not actively) hostile situation. The fact that Cole chose to have a moment with a boy while she was on the job isn't terribly relevant to the fact that we absolutely must maintain communications with one another at all time while working.I know teens gonna teen, but ugh.
>>30927858It's already been a month or a few weeks since then.
>>30927858don't know if we can get the van up armored in time. but maybe we can snag that armored SUV.
>>30927871Open lines of communication are not the same thing as eavesdropping. You don't keep your comm line constantly open if you're not using it to talk, that's dumb.
>>30927871Go back and read that scene again. We were trying to see what she and her dance partner were saying. You can justify it with paranoia, but we were being a helicopter parent all the same
>>30927880I don't think its been that long. that was *last mission*, and we got the call to go on TV next day.It was like literally yesterday.Real Life weeks are not In game week
>>30927909It has been a couple weeks since then considering we went through the pick your training choice. Also the fact that Cole's video has been trending for at least an entire week.
>>30927903>helicopter parentAnd suddenly i can't stop imagining P-san as inspector gadget
>>30927726Not wanting to miss the chance, you decide to snap a few pictures with your augmetic eyes for... reasons. It was just too funny of a scene not to. Rochelle and Rin seemed to have fallen asleep side by side, with their tilting heads leaning against each other. At their feet, Falynn was clutching Rochelle's N64 close to her like a teddy bear. Julie and Cole looked as if they had gotten into some sort of brawl and just passed out in the middle of it. Or maybe they were sleep fighting, you weren't sure. All you knew was that they were tangled together in a very compromised position that you probably shouldn't describe."Heh, maybe we should do this some other time, Niko." You chuckle. "You'll have to go back to your own residence to handle moving arrangements, right?""Oh yeah, I probably should!" Niko nods and shakes your hand with both of hers. "Anyways, thanks for hiring me, Producer! I'll make you proud!" "I'll show her out." Jenner says as she follows the hyperactive pseudo-punk down the stairs. You take one look back at your sleeping girls and sigh. You then channel your inner drill sergeant and produced the highest pitched whistle you can manage. The shrill noise jolts all five girls awake. "WAKEY WAKEY!" You bellow. "COME ON, LADIES! IT'S TIME TO GET UP!"They all groan and wince in the morning sunlight as they slowly get up. Cole and Julie blush furiously when they see the position they're in and quickly untangle themselves."M-morning, Producer." Rin mumbles."Morning, sir!" Rochelle snaps to attention and salutes you.The other girls, still a bit zoned out, just kind of mumble their greetings."Come on, girls, get this cleaned up and get dressed. Today's still a workday, you know." You tut. "Rochelle, Julie, Cole, once you're done get into your tac gear. We're going out today."You get a few tired grunts, which you take as affirmation.>Check the shop.>Get ready to go recruit your combat idol.>Other

>>30927983Seems fine to me as long as we get to the shop.
>>30927983You have my support
>>30928007Uparmoring the van is fine, adding a gun turret seems a bit much. Let's be careful with the budget guys

>>30927956>Check the shop.
>>30928012Also, I want to upgrade the armor of the girls. Also as a point, can we get a ACOG scope for the rifle and give it to Rochelle, so we have a designated marksman?
>>30928043Still think we're better off uparmoring the van first.Gives us two usable vehicles.
>>30928056She has a submachine gun if i recall, Armor seems fine, I guess but let's not break the bank since we're considering another car
>>30927956>Check shopThey'll get prepared and eat while we are on the phone and stuff.
>>30928065>Still think we're better off uparmoring the van first.Actually, our first upgrade should be a Hyperion Mining bumper sticker.Gotta deliver on that endorsement!
>>30928071Believe me, I do not want to break the bank.I still want the railgun, but no one else seems to support me so we might as well upgrade or girl's armor.
>>30928083I though you said bunker at first. It will be awesome if we can get a BNK3R in the endgame.
>>30928091Railgun is overkill, We should spend money on weapon necessary for the mission. We needed the Ak-74 and the Riot Shielf since it was needed for Cole who didn't have a weapon and Julie who needed a shield for her defensive perks.Since we're going into possibly hostile territory, uparmoring our ride and maybe our girl's armor should be sufficient. The Tomb hold no real indication of advance weaponry, so we might expect at least 9mm and maybe an assult rifle at most
>>30928133Well I'm thinking for the long run. Railgun will be both an equalizer and a terror weapon against experienced and hardened idols.Armor is always essential.
>>30927956"All right girls, let's get some breakfast." You grin as you head over to the kitchen. Thankfully, it's well stocked with Instant Breakfast, so you don't have to do too much cooking yourself, which was good since you weren't too good at it. You just popped the package into the microwave and after a minute or two you would have a full, hot breakfast ready to go.Ah, the wonders of modern technology. You also take the time to brew some coffee. Unfortunately, science hadn't yet advanced to the point where instant coffee didn't taste like rotten motor oil.Now dressed and cleaned up, your idols slowly filter in as they start filling their plates and eating. Most of their conversation is focused around last nights performance, as well as browsing the net on the phones to see public reaction to the broadcast.Meanwhile, you access Marc's online store app, and you see a few new items added to the list.>CURRENT UPKEEP: $2200>CURRENT TREASURY: $10300SHOP LIST: http://pastebin.com/XPUw1euc>Do you make any purchases?
>>30928133If at the most we're expecting small arms, the suv is already proof against that.We can skip that upgrade for now.
>>30928133Yeah. Armor seems like the most important thing right now. I feel like carapace armor for Julie, and Ballistic vests for the others. We should probably get 3, so we have one for the new girl as well.

>>30928309>I think the ACOG should be given to Rochelle,But Rochelle is using an SMG. Would the ACOG really be that much better with the M66 SMG?
>>30928316We don't need to.Cole already has electricity, no need to upgrade her weapon.>>30928321Yeah, I know. Seems opposite. Julie is close combat specialist, Rochelle is ranged.>>30928331Rochelle will have the training to use it better. Both Cole and Julie prefer to fight closer.
>>30928331we should be using holo sights on SMGs anyway, and acogs on midrange weapons like an assault rifleMerc: does 'firearms 1' training cover ALL guns, or will we have to train people up on snipers if we buy any?
>>30928331Also, to add to myself, Rochelle should have the rifle. That way we can make her an impromptu designated marksman, and Juile is better at close range, especially with the carapace armor we are giving her.
>>30928354>Rochelle will have the training to use it better. Both Cole and Julie prefer to fight closer. So switch the SMG to Julie and the M55 to Rochelle, and equip the M55 with an ACOG and the M66 with a Holo Sight?
>>30928354>We don't need to.>Cole already has electricity, no need to upgrade her weapon. We're falling back into this trap?Even after the high school mission showed she will get splashed with water?
>>30928385If anything she should get her something that works well without electricity and even better with it.
>>30928242>I know everyone is going to disagree with the RailgunLul truth. This minus the railgun.>>30928385Cole doesn't need her weapon upgraded, she needs to learn to use it.Look at her sheet: no firearms, no armor proficiency.Basics first.
>>30928385Then she has the reliable AK. The point is that we have to use our money effectively, and it will be better to invest ranged weaponry of Rochelle rather than Cole.
>>30928223Let's not spend much.If we need to buy new guns, we can do it when the mission calls for it. Besides the trip to the tombs does not need a sniper
>>30928366Typically more advanced weapons will require a higher firearms skill to reliably operate. I'll add that on later.>>30928381You can switch them if you want.>>30928160Okay, so the most voted options I'm seeing here are:Armored SUVBallistic Vest x3Is this acceptable?

>>30928418Can we add 1 carapace, for Julie. I think most people will agree with that.
>>30928418>Is this acceptable?+ Carapace armor.we want our heavy riot cop to get better at heavy armor and be a point man. That means she needs heavy armor.
>>30928407Yeah. If anything we already got Cole one of the best potential guns for her. If we don't want to splurge on a railgun and take advantage of the fact she can power it, then the next best thing is a reliable gun that she could accidentally hit with lightning and it would probably work just as well afterwards.
>>30928418throw in the carapace and it's a deal.

>>30928510Not the anon, but this business is cutthroat. One should always expect betrayal from this highly competitive industry. We have no way of making them keep their word as they probably have allies, while we're the bottom bitch.
>>30928436Has it occurred to you that trying to brute force power a railgun with a power source it wasn't designed to handle a bad fucking idea?Because it's a horrendously bad fucking idea.
>>30928486Well that's the point of the Railgun. Heavy Armor might stop Sniper bullets. Nothing stops a railgun from a mile away. It's value as a terror weapon and as a strong deterrence will make even the most experienced idol group think twice from attacking us. Even if they did think of a way to nullify it, it will cost them resources that will lessen the main attack.>>30928510Judge a man by how he treats his inferiors. >>30928549But they know we won't use it to kill or else we'll destabilize the entire damn city in civil war.
>>30928549You know killing enemy idols is in completely bad taste
>>30928466The deal wasn't great. We'd be doing them a tangible service (fighting their competition, who wouldn't take kindly to that at all) in exchange for a nebulous "favor" which would be contingent on us staying out of their turf, and we want their turf because it contains delicious fans and dosh.If we were larger and more influential, to the point that they couldn't risk fucking us for fear of direct retribution I would have considered it, but it felt too much like a one-way peace treaty that would have made us their buttbuddy.
>>30928486>I'm just wondering how a railgun won't kill the DeRosa idols.>>30928549>Well that's the point of the Railgun. Heavy Armor might stop Sniper bullets. Even if they did think of a way to nullify it, it will cost them resources that will lessen the main attack.FYI killing idols is Against The Idol Business.Actually DOING what you intend to is a 100% guaranteed way to get ALL the other companies to come down on our heads. And we've survived by NOT sticking our heads out.The way to use a railgun is as a Tactical Asset doing Property Damage.Nailing idols? badNailing their transports? Goodtaking out their robot support? Good.Blowing their cover away? Good.Sniper-trailing to blow holes in their heavy weapons, but not their operators? Good AND showey, which is doublegood in this biz.
A railgun is really more firepower than we need right now. We've only been on a single live fire mission.
>>30928586General rule of thumb: Make allies with those equal or below you. Never make allies with those above you.
>>30928588As always, we can use the money for things we need now (armor and transportation), we don't need a railgun now, until we really made enemies out of rival companies and go on the offensive.
>>30928588To be a devil's advocate: That is a good idea, but can be abused. For example, that idol just so happened to hold an assault rifle I was shooting at. The bullet just so happened to penetrate through it and kill her by accident.

"She's kinda famous down there for being undefeated in the Pit, the Tomb's unofficial fighting ring. A real mean motherfucker.""Yeah, well, that's who we're going to try and recruit.""Um, how bad is the Tombs?" Rochelle asks."It's a fucking hellhole." Cole spits."Yeah, pretty much what Cole said." You nod. "A hellhole. That's why we got new gear so we're better prepared to handle things down there.""Okay." Rochelle nods. "Resistance?""Mostly light. You say."I'll keep that in mind."And with that, your small assault force heads back to the Tombs...>And that's it for tonight! We're back to the regular schedule, so PJ Witches on Friday, Cyberpunk Idols on Saturday, and Magical Girl Hunter on Sunday!
>>30928601Well, only make superior allies only if you have them by the balls.See Israel and their extremely well funded and organized lobbying group to the US.>>30928588I think if it as a nuke. >>30928639See you next time! Thanks for writing today!
>>30928639BEST TUESDAY EVER!Thanks Merc.
>>30928639>"Oh, I think you're talking about Melissa." Julie raises her hand. "She's kinda famous down there for being undefeated in the Pit, the Tomb's unofficial fighting ring. A real mean motherfucker."Sounds like a job for a tsundere electromaster!Good night, Merc!
>>30928642True, but the only thing holding it back is M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction) The moment we fire it, all bets are off and it's full blown war.
>>30928642>I think if it as a nuke. An unstoppable weapon of terror and deterrence. Best weapon is one that prevents the attack from happening from the first place. The power of fear. Then you don't properly understand the power the Big Time Idol Corporations actually *have*.All those words you used? They actually HAVE access to those things. We have -one- corporate backer. They have *tons*, and this is a *cyberpunk* quest. You do *not* piss off The Big Dogs, or they all come down on you like a metric ton of pain for shitting in their pond.
>>30928639>Julie raises her handPolice Brutality-chan is the best girl.
>>30928639Thanks for running merc, looking forward to the other quests.
>>30928689>They actually HAVE access to those things. And more, we have barely even scratched the surface of what the top of the food chain has.
>>30928678>it's full blown war. When it comes to that, the companies with the most equipment, experience, and manpower will win.You know who that is?Not Fucking Us.ESPECIALLY when literally every other idol corporation has a vested interest in taking "The Idol Killers" out of business permanently, either for revenge, or proactively. That railgun is nothing but trouble, because I don't trust anon - especially lol its a nuke guy - to use it responsibly. Also, before talking about 'deterrent weapons' you -seriously- need to take a look at the -other sides' deterrents before entering into the cold war.
>>30928689All the most reason to stalk up on nukes, even the playing field.
>>30928671Should she disable her augs, or fight fairly?
>>30928727If you can't use the word "stock," right you're not allowed to play Thermonuclear War.
>>30928732She should win. There is no fairness is the Tombs.
>>30928732Actually, it will be cool if the producer wins against her. Show these girls who is a bad ass.
>>30928742>>30928745Okay, now what kind of tricks do you think she has in store for us?Chainsaw in the arm? Shotgun as a leg? Hidden blades? OH, the Possibilities!
>>30928639>A real mean motherfuckerMaybe we should have asked Cole and Julie if this girl is even going to be cooperative. If she's a real mean motherfucker, how much work are we going to need to put into her so that she gets along not only with the other combat idols, but also the performance idols who are the ones that actually make us money?
>>30928745>Idols sing "It Has to Be This Way" while the Producer and Melissa fight
>>30928709>And more, we have barely even scratched the surface of what the top of the food chain has.>>30928722>Also, before talking about 'deterrent weapons' you -seriously- need to take a look at the -other sides' deterrents before entering into the cold war.I feel these are good points to consolidate.>>30928727>All the most reason to stalk up on nukes, even the playing field. You realize this situation is a little bit like Iraq trying to out-arms-race the USA, right? You can't 'stalk up' far or fast enough to compete with superpowers. and furthermore, you don't even want to try because thats the kind of attention you don't even want.Let me put it this way.If we use the railgun to kill another idol, we should expect to lose everyone involved in the action in a retaliatory strike.Just straight up dead.and then the rest of the company buried in legality and bad media. The railgun is unique for us. For the corporations, its mass produced.
>>30928757Lets hope Melessia isn't based on Strength.

>>30928767hhahahahahaaha.Oh hell yes.For an epic 1 on 1 duel though, isn't The Only Thing I Know For Real perhaps more appropriate?
>>30928862Female Elward Elric
So which song do you anons think was picked as a character theme?
>>30928639>There was another girl down there. Augmetic arm and leg. You know her?">>30928883>Female Elward Elrichaha more like Adam Jensen!Though, uh, pic related may also be appropriate.
>>30928768I am not advocating using it against idols. I'm fully against having to use it in the first place. That's the point in deterrence. To prevent hostilities in the first place.
What does augmetic mean again? Add-ons or complete replacement?
>>30928926I believe in this context, it means fully replaced like a prosthetic, but more.Come to think of it, what is the difference between an augment and a prosthetic?
>>30928926Augments are both implants (like a brain implant that might help you concentration or automatically translate moonrunes) but can also be a prosthetic.Producer only received implants. It is fairly safe to assume his limbs were not amputated and replaced.
>>30928942His shooting arm was auged. When meeting Cole for the first time, he mentioned his arm's EMP shielding absorbing her attack. I also think he said something about losing control temporarily.
>>30928919A weapon that an enemy knows cannot be used is not a deterrent. Many Producers are not as considerate or caring for their idols as Mr. Producer. Sure, they may lose a combat idol or two, maybe even a performance idol. But in exchange, they can get the sympathy and support of every other idol company, even the AAA megacorp-backed ones, and all the resources they need to wipe Clover Entertainment off the map. It's a deterrent that, once actually examined, has no real deterrent effect at all.
>>30928959Not the anon, but I fear what would happen when we meet a complete rookie who's new to the business and kills and idol. Or someone who is so desperate, they will resort to murdering the competition by making it look like an accident.
>>30928942To make the distinction, Augs are powered while prosthetics are not. Both of Producer's arms are augmetic due to his role a marksman.
Did any of our staff mention what would happen if fans of one idol attacked a rival idol?
>>30928969>what would happen when we meet a complete rookie who's new to the business and kills and idolThen we'll get to see how the idol industry deals with an idol-killer, and why threats of killing idols is not acceptable in the business.
>>30928959So the railgun really is useless as a deterrent and as a weapon cause of consequences. It's probably only good for revenge strikes, which means we can just buy it at that time. Unless for some reason we get oneshotted at home then we really wish we had it.
>>30928995I assume that there would be no body to bury....No pun intended.
>>30928978Powered by the soul of a forsaken child's body heat?
>>30928992It also raises the question of whose to blame if a fan kills a rival idol, but not under the orders of their waifu.
>>30929004>Unless for some reason we get oneshotted at home then we really wish we had it.If we're getting oneshotted at our HQ (which breaks the standards of the business and will likely bring down the ire of the AAA's for letting the ugliness of the industry get seen by the masses), then we'll have wanted all of those automated turrets, area-denial shotguns, and a whole mess of things besides the railgun.
>>30929042I hope we installed those roadblocks that can be raised or lowered into the ground automatically just in case someone rams a truck through the front door.
>>30929039Presumably nothing as long as they denounced the act, nobody can prove then incited it, and it doesn't happen frequently enough to make it obvious that it's deliberate.
>>30929042>we'll have wanted all of those automated turrets, area-denial shotguns, and a whole mess of things besides the railgun.Decommed ED-209 that Falyn repaired and re-equipped with extra weapons, and that Himawari upgraded the OS and firewall. There's a lot of stuff that we'd wish to have besides just one railgun if our HQ gets attacked.
>>30928992>>30929039Generally fans are not very competent, so if your idols get killed by some random guy, you obviously don't deserve to be in the business field at all.Organized attacks by enemy fans are exceedingly rare, Sure, there may be coordinate attempts at harassment, but assassination is not something they would consider.
>>30929070>but assassination is not something they would consider.I'm guessing kidnapping is, though
>>30929080Green is the danger!
God, what happens if rival corps decide to use organized psychological warfare by mailing hatemail to us or something. We covered physical, and electronic threats, but it is harder to deal with psychological and emotional threats.Things like hatemail being sent to Cole and Julie for being from the Tombs and to crawl back into the hole where they belong.
>>30929099We have Lilith to help, as well as contracting an investigation service to track down the senders.
>>30929099and that's why any sane company has a PR person that reads fanmail and passes the *relevant* stuff along
>>30929099Good thing we filter that shit out when we hand them the fan mail.
>>30929099Well thats why we screen fanmail.
>>30929117Or they break the firewall and flood the server with annoying spambots.Good thing we got the human recluse or whatever.
>>30928959By your reasoning our idols cannot defend ourselves. DeRosa already attempted to attack our girls once. When is the next time it's going to happen again? The obvious solution is to have a bigger gun
>>30929117Thats us.You notice when we got the fanmail, we were the ones who let them know.
>>30929099It could be as bad as companies hiring groups of people (regular people, mercs, etc.) to walk up to our girls and verbally abuse them.
>>30929080Assuming you could get away with it. Again, if you let the fans one up you, you are doing a poor job as a Producer.
>>30929133But we can't kill them or the Big Dogs will sell our organs on the Black Market.
>>30929137You know that's why we have Cole. Hell, we'll probably get more fans that way.
>>30929115>>30929117>>30929123>>30929124Or worse, they spread rumors on image boards online and photoshop images.
>>30929144I really hope there's a Big Dog idol group out there.Steriotypically evil moustache twirling oil and wall street execs, etc.
>>30929158Made me laugh anon. Nice one.
>>30929158Ah yes, let the internet do the fighting for you for free.
Just to clarify, the unspoken rules for Idol combat are thus:1. Targeted assassination is highly frowned upon, especially during sanctioned events.2. Killing in self defense is usually justified.3. Lethal force is considered a viable option if the enemy idols are engaging in "unsanctioned activity". These would include surprise/guerrilla concerts or attacks on other idols .Basically, engage other idols in combat, expect to kill or be killed. However, you're discouraged from blowing an idol's head off while she's performing on stage.
>>30929194Discouraged as long as the street team and PR crew were making a big deal about it.If it's a surprise...
>>30929194So if we see them with guns, they are dead to rights?
>>30929194You know, instead of the railgun, i think i want the teleconference with taser rounds now.Its a beautiful subversion of 'the rules' to take enemy idols alive when you have to engage them combat, like merc said - and then sell them back to their parent company.Don't go for a bodycount. Go for being a total pain in the budget to go up against.
>>30929237>You know, instead of the railgun, i think i want the teleconference with taser rounds now.Ooh! I think i see where you're going with tihs.Or the shotgun. It can also take specialist rounds.
>>30929234>So if we see them with guns, they are dead to rights?I think they have to shoot first. Combat idols are a known thing, and if they're not attacking you, you can't say it's in self-defense.
>>30929234Basically, yes, as long as you keep collateral damage to a minimum, unless a patron megacorp is willing to foot the bill for damages.
>>30929278Things to buy: silenced sniper rifles x5.
>>30929237>>30929248Yeah, I guess nonlethal methods would more flexible. I'm still more partial to using fear. If you try to fuck with us, have someone on over watch with explosive rounds, but I see your point.
>>30926158Is it wrong for me to want to have a YOUNG idol like Koume as a sniper combat idol? Maybe pretend to be lost, draw the enemy near, and shank them when they're close.
>>30929292Just remember, it goes both ways...
>>30929305Budget fears.Their snarling faces of the finance dept reps will be their nightmares.
>>30929305It can also be abused like everything else.Capture an idol, sedate her, install a Harbinger aug, and send her back for ransom. *BAM* Instant sleeper agent.Too bad it can be done to our girls too.
>>30929305The only problem is that using certain methods opens us up to having them used against us by idol companies with deeper pockets and less scruples.
>>30929310guys lets not get on mercs bad side
>>30929336and lets not be gun crazy retards. Guns are not the solution to every problem.
>>30929326I will take this suggestion.
>>30929326You'd think a harbinger aug will be a rather easy thing to detect. They scan down the poor girl once she gets back to them and it come up.Then imagine the PR disaster when they release news of it.
>>30929310>>30929336Filled with tranq darts*,
>>30929292He just said no targeted assassinations. And we don't have that many hands to put them all on over watch. Best and cheapest way to prevent attacks is obvious, overwhelming firepower.
>>30929356firepower we dont have and cant acquire in a timely fashion without bankrupting our company.
>>30929348Just wait till someone controls Cole, and decides to wreck up the place, take some...pictures, and post them all over the image boards.
>>30929356Are you not reading for fun, or can you not?If a girl has a weapon in her hands she's cooked like a turkey on Thanksgiving.
>>30929356I'd go for obvious, overwhelming publicity, post live feeds or something so our fans can monitor our safety, put it as the Daily Lives at Clovers or something.
>>30929372Hopefully, they won't be able to access her powers. If they do... Mercy take us all.
>>30929372Eh.We still need to USE our harby for something thought.I think it could be a fantastic tool to, say, put Rin in command of someone else doing a solo. Like, if they'e not confident they can do it, they can intentionally 'tag out' to a teammate they trust.Someone else also had the idea of P-san being able to jump into the cyberwolfs body. Sure, he'd have to learn to control it, but he'd be able to *help directly* which producers aren't normally allowed to do - but harbingers are mostly undetectable/untracable(except for oddities like cole).
>>30929410No, harby's mind-control should be a last resort, to command frenzied personnel. Anything else will abuse the power and lead to mistrust.
>>30929410What I fear is that they sedate her, and immediately go into direct control the moment they finish the operation, never even letting her get the chance to fight back.
>>30929431Get a load of this faggot.
>>30929410how about no
>>30929326Except those aren't hard to detect with proper equipment as far as we've been told, and logically the one of the first things you do after getting a hostage back is check to make sure nobody shoved them full of nanomachines. The Harbinger sleeper agent plan falls apart the minute your targets have any reason to put the subject through a scan. It's not the kind of thing that will ever work against a well-equipped group unless you can sneak your sleeper in without giving them any reason to suspect they might be compromised.
>>30929467Well it's a good thing we hired a Doctor and his Assistant.
>>30929443>>30929431Why not?Everyone says no, but they don't understand how it actually works. We can't actually mind control anyone because we never set it up.and anytime it ever comes up, people spam no and don't bother investigating at all. There's way less to be afraid of now that we have a cybersecurity expert, anyway, and any potential trust issues are easy to assauge with simple teamwork and exercises using the device. Its a team asset, but you're not thinking of it as anything but a big evil threat when its not really any of those things.
>>30929489Now that we have a real doctor on the staff, if an idol gets wounded during a fight, then we could ask another to tag out and have the doctor tag in to provide first aid to stabilize the wounded idol for transport back to him and his specialized equipment. That is one of the uses of the Harbinger system, and none of our combat idols have any first aid training or experience.
>>30929489It is set up, we can take control of the girls at anytime right now. We also recognize the system and clearly we know in-character what its about and its uses. Also, you can't build trust and teamwork if you pilot the girls and force them what to do. I dont think you understand what those words means.Just because its a big shiny red button doesn't mean you should push it.
>>30929542good luck getting through, this is /tg/ where big red button pushing is a complusion usually. And the picture reflects the usual "thinking"
>>30929542>It is set up, we can take control of the girls at anytime right now. We also recognize the system and clearly we know in-character what its about and its uses. Also, you can't build trust and teamwork if you pilot the girls and force them what to do. I dont think you understand what those words means. No, we dont. The harbinger is set up, but the entire thread freaked out about it, and if we push the big red button it wouldn't do anything because we didn't set up THAT feature of it.Its a battle radio right now, but that its.>Also, you can't build trust and teamwork if you pilot the girls and force them what to do. I dont think you understand what those words means.I do, actually.I'm not talking about US forcing anyone or anything.I'm talking about letting the girls cover each other's advantages. Telling them about it, how to use it, getting them comfortable with the idea of helping each other out - THAT is teamwork.Producer has nothing to do with it, forcing has nothing to do with it. and trust has everything to do with it
>>30929613We've decided against using the mind control feature and that's that. The decision is past, and it isn't going to change just because you keep harping on it.At this point it just comes off as you being suspiciously fixated on someone getting mind controlled.
>>30929613I'll be interested at least in showing the girls how it works.Say we set up a show and tell session with doctor stiles, and show how he sleeves us and performs some practice surgery on some meat slab.As a form of disclosure as to what the platform is capable of.Its better they freakout about it now rather than at a worse time in the field.
>>30929641>We've decided against using the mind control feature and that's that. When did that get determined definitively? Because in-character, Producer knows of the benefits of the system, and even had a friend saved because the Harbinger allowed a doctor to operate on a buddy that got shot when they were in the field.
>>30929532>Now that we have a real doctor on the staff, if an idol gets wounded during a fight, then we could ask another to tag out and have the doctor tag in to provide first aid to stabilize the wounded idol for transport back to him and his specialized equipment.>That is one of the uses of the Harbinger system, and none of our combat idols have any first aid training or experience. So much this.>>30929641Its not just me though. I don't care about it for 'lol the mind control', i care about it because its an amazing way to shore up our weaknesses.Jenner's suggestion to mix combat and performance idols instantly becomes irrelevant if we have both sides able to back each other up in the right situation.>>30929674>When did that get determined definitively?Quest flipped as hit and overreacted and its been a sore point ever since.>>30929665>I'll be interested at least in showing the girls how it works.Agreed on all accounts. Everyone freaking out about how evil it is hasn't bothered to even see if our staff is ok with it.
>>30929665These things are for a much later date, we don't need either the railgun or the harbinger anytime soon. Better to spend time and money on growing then preparing for war. Once we have a clear hostile company sending combatant our way, then we'll discuss railguns and harbingers.
>>30929674And that's a different situation entirely. If it's a choice between Harbinger and death we'll use it, but using it willy-nilly not only sets a terrible precedent, it'll also make the game boring as shit by reducing the cast to one amorphous stat-blob as the ideal person just bodyjacks into every situation. I'd like to keep my characters as individuals, thanks.
>>30929720If you keep being in denial about the harbinger, it will be too late to set up by the time we need it.nobody has the brain aug or temporary injection to establish the network link anyway. Except maybe jenner, since she's also ex military.
>>30929749Its like you're afraid to explore the cyberpunk future, and making any excuse to not even try broaching the subject.>>30929665This is actually really reasonable.
>>30929720Well its not about whether we need it now, its more about revealing what we have available to the girls. Its a time of peace now, if we show it to them, they'll have time to think about it. Better now rather than revealing this trump card and shocking them during a time of crisis.
>>30929701>mix combat and performance idols instantly becomes irrelevant if we have both sides able to back each other up in the right situation.Actually no, since there's still the problem of properly developed muscles and toughened bodies, and that having numbers is still an advantage.>to even see if our staff is ok with it.Jenner seemed ambivalent to it when the system and its benefits were explained to her. But then again, Jenner is very pragmatic and does from a military-style background, so she's the one to most readily accept it when it's explained as a means of providing specialist (especially medical) skills when needed.>>30929720>Once we have a clear hostile company sending combatant our way, then we'll discuss railguns and harbingers. We've already sent our girls into a combat situation where they could have required immediate medical attention. Or we completely forswear any combat missions until we're ready (having given the combat idols first aid training).>>30929749>And that's a different situation entirelyIt's still using the control feature, and the post I was responding to said >We've decided against using the mind control feature and that's thatThere was no distinction or exception made in the statement.
>>30929788Precisely. Its an option we make available to THEM.>>30929826>>We've decided against using the mind control feature and that's that>There was no distinction or exception made in the statement.Thats just you being whiney though. The threads not talking about 'us/we using the mind control'. Its talking about NPCs using the feature.
Goddamit, we're back to this argument again....Well the only question I'm wondering is if an Idol Group sends someone to attack and harress us, and we beat and capture them what do we do?
>>30931219Ransom them back. And if the company refuses to, we offer them a job.
