It's the morning of the third day. At dawn, tomorrow, you need to have everything ready for the Three River's attack on the fey of Tianna's swampland, and be present at Azure Lake for the strategy meeting. You already recruited Dancing Smoke, the island's volcano goddess; A court of water elementals; And two pirate ships for a total of about 50 people. One, the Bloodshark, is led by a Realm expatriate called Rubel Sareni, but the other, the Black Eye, is still captain-less (since the previous captain, Yagate White-Tooth, has been eaten by Tia, your lunar husbando)You also took in as a servant Regis, a dirty but adorable street urchin, by saving him from being stoned for theft and promising him a job, a uniform and three meals a day. Now, you need to plan for the day with Rubel and Tia's help. Here in the pirate haven of Freeport there's a captain you still haven't contacted, Iohannes Quint. There are possibly more allies and forces you can add to your ranks, but you don't have much time left. Mikahil is also somewhere around town, either busydoing his own brand of shady stuff, or catching up on sleep. What should you do first?>Check if the Black Eye has elected a new captain and bring them up to speed on the situation.>Talk with Rubel (about what?)>Talk with Tia (about what?)>Search for Mikahil.>Search for Iohannes Quint.>Try and take over the entire village.>Try and gather iron weapons for your men and ships.>Try and contact another spirit or god and persuade it to help you.>Immediately head back to Tianna.>Immediately head to Azure Lake.>Explore the sea and other islands.>Other?

"First of all." You state as you dismount the moored ship together with Tia and Rubel. "We need to find Mikahil.""Mikahil is that sleep-deprived-looking man you were travelling with, right?" Rubel asks. You nod. "He's very good at hiding, and he's... not really with me. He acts on his own a lot, and has his own plans. I lost sight of him yesterday, and I have no idea where he went. He's also very good at hiding and being subtle.""Sounds like a hard person to find." Notes Rubel. "Isn't it more likely that HE will find US?""I don't know, should we just walk around town calling his name loudly so he knows we're looking for him?" You wonder. "Or just ask around about him, he'd probably realize.""I'll send some of my men around to ask for someone with that name, saying that you're looking for him. If he's as good as you say, he'll get the message." The captain suggests. After about a hour spent looking for the elusive Eclipse, he comes and meet you at a carrot stall at the farmer's market, where you were asking people if anyone had seen him."You're up early." He points out. He looks a bit more well-rested than usual, though not by much. You wonder if it's just his face that has that naturally tired look."I was doing the last few things before heading back to the main island and meeting the others in Azure Lake. Are you sure you don't want to join us?" You offer."I'm not much of a warrior. If this were a diplomatic mission, my Caste's blessing would be really useful to keep the fey at bay, I imagine. But in war? I'll pass. I have other business to attend to off-island.""What did you do yesterday, anyway?" You wonder. As a response, he pulls out from under his cloak a large leather bag and tosses it to you.You catch it. It's heavy and noisy.(cont)
"I did some deals. Some trading, some barter. Just to keep myself busy while I wasn't catching up some sleep."You peek into it. Stuffed together without order or reason, you find a large amount of Guild-minted silver coins of various age and denominations, some of Tianna's domestic copper and silver coins and paper scrip, a few semiprecious gemstones, and several colorful cowrie shells. You give its contents a quick count. It's not a fantastic amount of money, but it's a nice sum. Rolled 7>>30829855Eh, we should still probably take back queenship of Gem regardless. But yes, if Dancing Smoke remains chief volcano goddess of both Tianna and Gem, we could easily communicate back and forth between temples in both cities, as long as Dancing Smoke is willing to pass messages.
Rolled 7>>30829855This is going to be fun making the ones who were were exiled for be our servants and butt monkeys from afar, without even bothering to show up in person. And all of this can be done nice and easy from the Island paradise we are in, without bothering to set up a permanent residence in gem, just the initial trip .
>>30829862>How rich are Lintha? Are they worth raiding from? There is only one course of action regarding Lintha, ever:Extermination.
>>30829856Let's not. We wasted way too much when we boarded Rubel's ship. Even with using MRE we have two sucesses here which might be enough to convince them. With MRE we would have four successes. We have this in the bag.

Also, the Abyssals use an airship, not an actual ship.>I've heard that Raksha are very rich, so how viable would a plan be where we finance our operations by raiding X-Com style.Extremely. The Raksha should have a ton of Gossamer goods, which is strictly better than just about every other mundane material. Even their commoners' tools should fetch a MASSIVE price in Tianna, and if we can find some gossamer boots/gauntlets (which will, aesthetically, look like arm-length gloves and high heels, probably) they'll be strictly better than the mundane ones from Tianna.
Rolled 5>>30829627>Conquering territory and carving a nation in the WestTrying to recruit pirates with the promise of conquering Gem and paying them in gems is like trying to hire mercenaries in central Mongolia with the promise that one day, you'll go to America and find the fountain of youth
Rolled 6On the topic of Gossamer.Gossamer is a material made of the dreams and emotions of mortals. Fair Folk mostly eat it (they need some every day not to unravel) but also use it to make things. You can have an armored dress woven out of the feeling a little girl got when her mom hugged her, or a blade edged in the panic of the moment right before waking up from a nightmare, for example.Gossamer items have a smattering of +1's to their stats (in the core system) and can further be made Exceptional for some more +1's. This makes them almost (almost) as good as Artifact items. Gossamer armor, on the other hand, has no Fatigue or Mobility penalty, meaning you could have a light, hooded robe that protects you as well as heavy chain swathings, or a gentleman's suit whose soft leather protects like steel plates. As I'm sure you can imagine, this is some valuable shit. It's borderline-artifact-tier stuff that mortals can use freely - cha-ching! What it also means is that, if we find any Gossamer boots/gloves while we're raiding them, we can probably use them as an upgrade to whatever we're using and look DAMN fine in the process. In other words, please throw us arm-length gloves and thigh-high heels that function as gauntlets and iron boots during our war against the Fair Folk, Exaltedfag.
Rolled 8>>30829627>Mounting an expedition to recapture Gem one dayCan't be a queen without a throne, and there's no reason to carve out new territory when we're already the rightful queen of somewhere.
>>30829911Quint might be a honorable pirate since he only goes after Wavecrest ships. I do not know much lore, but it has been mentioned that Wavecrest does human sacrifice. It might be fine mentioning our plan to go after the Abyssals and Lintha.
Rolled 8>>30829922Or could we take over some Fae?Could we mindfuck them into subservience to our glorious person with Husband Seducing Demon Dance and have a Gossamer production line?
Rolled 1>>30829941We have to push them off of this island. Probably have to find another infestation and take that over, if we can do such a thing.
Rolled 9>>30829941They'd still need the dreams and feelings of humans to forge stuff.I'm not sure if Maka would be okay with that.
>>30829974Pity they can't make it out of raw sexual energy
Rolled 5>>30829941>Or could we take over some Fae?Probably not, and just keeping them alive would pretty much involve sacrificing humans to them to have their dreams/emotions/souls eaten. There's only one way to take over the Fae and be able to trust them. You have to steal their Graces. You see, Fae don't have willpower/emotions/Virtues/souls like, you know, actual people do. They make magical tools - the Sword, the Cup, the Ring, the Staff, and the Heart graces - that serve the dual purpose of being a sweet tool and letting them run emotions basically as an emulator.Taking one of their Graces renders you in control of that aspect of them. For example, stealing their Sword means they can't hurt anyone except on your order (that's their Valor). Stealing their Heart means they cease having free will or personal drives of any kind (that's their Willpower equivalent). So, if we can find a Raksha and physically or trickily take, at the very least, their Sword/Heart Grace, we MIGHT be able to keep them around as a pet.But honestly, at the end of the day, we should just kill the lot of them, loot all their gossamer, and consider it a DAMN good day to be rid of these soul-eating lovecraftian monsters from outside of reality.
>>30829941>Or could we take over some Fae?Possible. Honestly if we could borrow Mikahil for a bit it shouldn't be too hard. I wouldn't try it without a eclipses protection though.

Rolled 10>>30829984Oh, and in case people are worried that Maka might not know all this? It's actually common knowledge. Not in so clear of terms, mind you, but people know that, for example, getting a fairy to surrender his sword makes him helpless as far as fighting is concerned. That stealing their heart makes them your slave, and so forth. It's included in basically every tale about them in the entire world, right alongside, "BITCH DO NOT FORGET SOME IRON. YOU WILL NEED IT." Mothers tell these stories to their kids as they fall asleep. But for real, just kill the fuckers. Unless we're given a PERFECT opportunity to steal a Raksha's heart, don't even take the risk. These tricky fucks can turn things around on you SO quick, you should never give them a chance.
>>30829984You could also bind them though eclipse oaths. It also might be a way to keep people from murdering and the likes."Don't kill on the lands of this exalt or the fae will have free rein over you!"
>>30829884"Well, lots of things. There's the problem with the Abyssals." You start, gauging his reaction., To your surprise, he just nods."...Yes, I heard about their attack in Tianna. Dreadful stuff. I take it it was you the one who helped stopping them?" Quint asks. You nod in reply. "Plus, you know, Lintha.""Ugh." He groans. "I hate the Lintha.""Join the club." You grin. "But really, my long-term plans involve two things." You extend one finger. "One: I plan to forge a nation here in the West."He seems very interested. "...Here in Tianna? Or are you planning on ripping some of Wavecrest from the Feathered One and the Realm?""I'm still considering it." You reply, noting his reaction. "Do you have any suggestions?"His gaze gets really serious. "Promise me one island of my choice as a fief and you will have my sword and my ship.""That sounds like a personal... vendetta?" You wonder aloud."Is it important?" He replies. "What is your second plan?""...I plan on returning to Gem." You tell him. "If I will have the chance to.""You're from Gem?""I was the queen of Gem. I wouldn't mind returning to that position." You understate with a smirk."Gem is far." He notes. "And hard to reach.""That's why I don't have any definite plans for returning there. For now, my battle is here, in the West.">Promise him his fief in Wavecrest if he serves you well>Ask him what his problem with Wavecrest is>Deny his request: He'll have to serve you on your terms.
>>30830048On the other hand we have alliances with Lunars so thinking on it best not to try. Lunars have a habit of hating them.
Rolled 9>>30830052Good compromise! Dual kingdom, first here, then back home. I really like that middle ground, and it fits what we were saying with Dancing Smoke commuting.
Rolled 3>>30830052>Ask him what his problem with Wavecrest is
Rolled 2>>30830048Eclipse oaths only matter when people are afraid of breaking them. Fair Folk will eat the botches that oathbreaking gives simply because it makes a better story.
>>30829982Who said they can't?
>>30830052>Promise him his fief in Wavecrest if he serves you well
Rolled 5>>30830052>Promise him his fief in Wavecrest if he serves you well>Ask him what his problem with Wavecrest isHe can have it, but I'm curious
Rolled 4>>30829982The pity is more that, in doing so, some of Maka's raw sexual energy would actually be literally taken from them. It's not a no-loss process.
Rolled 5>>30830052>>Promise him his fief in Wavecrest if he serves you wellseconding >>30830077
>>30830073It's honestly not all that hard if you are smart about things and manipulate things right. In general though I suggest not doing it unless it's a special case.
>>30830093Implying Maka's sexual energy is a finite amount
Rolled 5>>30830052Shouting over the railing is not the most civilized way of doing a deal, you know?So now that we have established that we are both civilized why don't we get go for a cup of coffee or tea and talk more about this island you hate. It might be the biggest thing in the Archipelago or the most far away or some other thing. But if you want a fief that you will have, the rest is still a bit well undecided so we have to hash that out some more.So are you going to invite me to a cup of something or are we going to keep shouting from dock to ship?
>>30830110So Maka's sexual energy is so great it enters MacGuffin territory? Seems reasonable
Rolled 2>>30830141We've been banging pretty much any fancy supernatural we found. We are probably worse than Scarlet.
Rolled 7>>30830150>We've been banging pretty much any fancy supernatural we found. We really haven't actually. So far we've only fucked three people in this quest and been fondled by some elementals. But the other Lunars, Samiel, Mikahil, Dancing Smoke - the list of 'supernatural badasses we haven't fucked' is longer than the list we have.
Rolled 2>>30830167That's only because we could not fit them in our schedule.
>>30830167Dancing smoke's on orderSamiel's a juicy target, and shall not last longZaan seems to be down with casual sexlist goes on
>>30830230I'd rather not screw Sam or Zaan. Actually, I'd like to keep our list of lovers to just women. If Tia ever notices, we just respond 'they wouldn't be you'
Rolled 9>>30830217>>30830230The point is, we haven't yet. We might someday, but so far, we've had a decent level of self control. Aside from the queen we already had as a lover before exalting and the Lunar mate we recently acquired, the only person we've been with is the princess.Despite Maka being supposedly all about sex and violence, there's actually been very little of either in this quest compared to diplomacy and alliance-building of all kinds.
>>30830250Well the violence quota's about to skyrocket. So we need to work on having more sex.
Rolled 8>>30830241/u/boat sighted
>>30830052>Promise him his fief in Wavecrest if he serves you wellHe seems ambitious and determined. Don't know if he'll settle for less (unless we make an awesome social roll). If we're promising that much, though, I'd REALLY like to know why he wants it.I don't know how they're currently inhabited, so we might have to say that we can't step on any toes in doing so. Maybe one of the Lintha islands after we exterminate them? Also,>Ask him what his problem with Wavecrest is
>>30830295not wanting /u/ just saying Tia's is the only cock we need
Rolled 6>>30830305the only one we'll 'need'but we'll have plenty of others
>>30830241Way too many /tg/ quest heroines are lesbian, so many that at this point even I am starting to get put off by the 'girls only' diet.We should definitely break new grounds by going after men. It would be revolutionary.A female PC actually going after men? Scandalous!
Rolled 7>>30830305>not wanting /u/ just saying Tia's is the only cock we needCocks. Plural. She has an entire library of them - she was real excited to try out Yagate's, if I remember correctly. She's like one of those chicks who collects exotic dildos, but these are actual penises.
>>30830241>>30830295>>30830305>>30830318Hey, as long as we don't forget to take maiden tea we'll be perfectly fine going full omnisexual.Just don't want this to end up like CoC where even in a pure run you have 1000 kids.
>>30830230Zaan maybe, if we talk to him more. But no Samiel, he's boring as hell
Rolled 1>>30830353Tactfully now that you mention it, as long as we do not birth them, that is a good way to star us on our godblooded army.Plus we have to start getting our own cock collection to at least show Tia a good time as well. Shaping.
Rolled 6>>30830353I'm pretty sure we haven't been using protection with Tia, and Exaltedfag described her as being anything but careful when it comes to not knocking us up. We might already be pregnant.>>30830369Solar Shaping stuff is all Twilight. It ain't happening.
Rolled 3>>30830369>Solar>Shapeshiftingyeah no
>>30830384How high level would that be? We have 2 in Twilight. I am just curious...
>>30830354Maybe a good hard fuck will make him less boring.
Rolled 7>>30830421Do you really want to waste hard earned Xp on that?
>>30830386>sorceryThough I don't want to imagine her going for that. Or figuring out the spell to do something like this.
Rolled 6>>30830421Pretty fucking high, and every last thing we invest in Twilight are points not-spent on things that actually matter.
>>30830469>Twilight >Important lol. If we want something twlighty done we can go find ourselves one as an ally. Instead of wasting xp.
Rolled 3>>30830499Definitely. Unlike Zenith and Eclipse stuff, craftsnerding is something we can outsource - we can even get a DB to do it just fine.
>>30830052>Promise him his fief in Wavecrest if he serves you wellThat and be a landowner up to our standards. Don't abuse your serfs, don't throw anyone into any volcanoes, etc.>Ask him what his problem with Wavecrest isIf it has to do with their habit of throwing people into volcanoes, he'll get points.
>>30830499>>30830510We already have a DB who can craftsnerd just fine, and we're sleeping with her. We're good.
>>30830702>If it has to do with their habit of throwing people into volcanoes, he'll get points.>Caring about the volcanos
Rolled 3>>30830702>That and be a landowner up to our standards. Don't abuse your serfs, don't throw anyone into any volcanoes, etc.Definitely that.
>>30830712Honestly I would go looking for a DB or celestial with sorcery. Just so we have someone to fill in that niche later on.
Rolled 10>>30830746Zaan has sorcery
Rolled 1>>30830746Agreed. A DB craftsnerd with some Terrestrial Circle Sorcery is an ideal lieutenant for us.
>>30830712For now, she's still part of the Tianna royalty, though, so we'll need to pick up a fulltime crafter eventually since she's needed there.
Rolled 1Is OP gone?
>>30830891Once we take out the Fae, Lintha and Abyssals I'm pretty sure Amata will be willing to lend her to us indefinitely.
>>30830914She probably wants to travel with us already, especially once we make it clear she gets first crack at any unknown or First Age tech we find.
Rolled 9>>30830914>I'm pretty sure Amata will be willing to lend her to us indefinitelyThe problem with that is that Tianna's defense and infrastructure is Irene's personal mission. I don't think she has any desire to leave her home, despite being into us. And I'm fine with that - girl knows where she wants to be.If she wants to come with us, awesome. If not, that's fine too - we can find some other craftsnerd sorcerer DB somewhere, I'm sure. An entire plot arc around finding and recruiting our ideal lieutenant would actually be interesting.
>>30830969As wonderful as Tia is, I actually miss Irene. That first date we had was really cute. I hope we can manage some more time with her after the Fae business is concluded.
>>30830894Sorry, got a bit swamped with work. Will post very shortly.
>>30830969Or we could end up finding an actual Twilight in hiding or trying to scour a dangerous tomb-vault. Maybe his own.
Rolled 10>>30831010Eh. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not too into trying to form a circle with other Solars. Or, rather, I don't want to rely on that. I want someone who's a proper lieutenant.Dealing with other Celestials - aside from our Lunar mate - should be seen as more of an alliance of nations. They do not work for us, they work with us, and we should be self-sufficient without them.
Rolled 3>>30831036Then we'll have to live with TCS, because I don't think Tia wants to become a sorcerer
>>30831036Eh, even then, Solar circles happen because the complimenting abilities make all of the cooperating individuals far stronger than they are on their own.
>>30831036I hear you. Maybe we'll get situation like Mikahil, where we help each other when needed but otherwise are independent. An alliance, like you said.Although EF has been shown able to make characters that really appeal to people.
Rolled 1>>30831053So? Even TCS is normally something that requires Essence 3 normally. What's more, CCS spells are RIDICULOUSLY hard to come by. CCS is pretty much outside of our range of options anyway.>>30831089I'm fine with that. I just want to try to get a lieutenant instead of NECESSARILY relying on other Celestials. We can actually count on subordinates consistently; circlemates are people we get to help is in a sort of 'cooperation of the nations' capacity.
"...You'll have your fief. I'll see that you can get it. But can I ask you what's your problem with them?" You ask him. You sense a story behind this."They exiled me. Well. I exiled myself. It was either that or becoming very dead." He explains succinctly."Did something happen?"He takes a deep sigh. "You'll find it boring. Besides, you don't really care about my problems. You're just curious.""I do care." You point out."They chucked my wife in a volcano." He explains. "Mostly because the god was hungry for some more sacrifice and the jails were empty. They accused her of being a necromancer"You hesitate a moment, before asking the next question. "...Was she?""Yes." He nods. "But I don't think that's a good excuse."His ship's skull-and-crossbones flag takes on an entire new meaning. "You want vengeance?" You ask."I want to go back home." He says sounding so, so very tired. "And I want to be sure that this sort of thing doesn't happen to anyone else." He adds.. His voice is about to break, but no other outward sign of distress breaks out of his hard, slightly-smug-looking face. "...And I want the head of that particular high priest on a pike and the god in question to be taught a lesson in some way, but I don't intend to go on a blood-soaked rampage beyond that.""What else?" he asks after a short pause, as if to challenge you.>I don't think I want you working for me anymore.>I'll give you your fief but I forbid you from changing the status quo.>I agree to your terms. Welcome aboard.>I like the way you think. Be loyal to me and I'll help you out.
Rolled 7>>30831158>I like the way you think. Be loyal to me and I'll help you out.Maka doesn't like human sacrifice, anyways, and Shadowland Necromancy doesn't necessarily mean you're evil
Rolled 5>>30831158>>I agree to your terms. Welcome aboard.non-Exalted educated anon here, could this be the same vulcano god we spoke to?
>>30831158>"They chucked my wife in a volcano." He explains. "Mostly because the god was hungry for some more sacrifice and the jails were empty. They accused her of being a necromancer"Okay, I don't think we have to worry about this guy abusing his serfs or throwing anyone into any volcanoes.
>>30831158>I like the way you think. Be loyal to me and I'll help you out.I think we can empathize with not wanting the people we care about hurt. And his story's like ours, though on a smaller scale
Rolled 9>>30831158>I like the way you think. Be loyal to me and I'll help you out.>>30831184nope, different vulcano
Rolled 10>>30831158I'll help you to your fief. We will see about the others later, but punching or cajoling gods out of human sacrifice is in my repertoire so its quite likely to happen in some way or another.
>>30831158>I agree to your terms. Welcome aboard.
Rolled 1>>30831198so each volcano has its own god/goddess? good to know
>>30831158>I like the way you think. Be loyal to me and I'll help you out.We are literally the best person to help him with this. As a holy emissary of the UCS it's our duty to fix shit like this.
>>30831184No. The volcano god in question would be the god of one of the volcanoes on the islands that are officially part of Wavecrest. The Wavecrest Archipelago has an agreement with the volcano gods stating that they perform human sacrifice when the volcano gods demand it (usually they throw prisoners convicted of capital crimes in, but when the volcano gods are really angry they'll grab anyone who's in for anything, or just accuse people on trumped-up charges just to get a sacrifice) in exchange for the volcanoes not erupting and feeding the soil and farmland they need to support themselves. If we want to stop human sacrifice in Wavecrest, we're going to have to figure out another way for the people there to feed themselves.
>>30831158>I like the way you think. Be loyal to me and I'll help you out.Besides, we could always punish a volcano god by giving his domain to another ally of ours, Dancing Smoke
Rolled 8>>30831219literally every rock has it's own god/godess
Rolled 5>>30831231I really need to remember to just leave that in the e-mail field.
>>30831184>>30831231Specifically, Dancing Smoke was upset because all the volcano gods in Wavecrest get human sacrifices, so she was upset that she's not up to the social standard/standard of living expected of a volcano god. It's a "keeping up with the Joneses" thing.
Rolled 7>>30831158>I like the way you think. Be loyal to me and I'll help you out. We're also adamantly against human sacrifice to volcano gods.
>>30831219Everything in Creation, down to the smallest blade of grass, has a god of some scale that makes sure it works right. Volcanoes tend to be major entities to island dwellers, so their gods are big and powerful.
Rolled 8>>30831255Dammit. I am made of fail this morning. Not that anon, >>30831246THAT anon
>>30831158>I like the way you think. Be loyal to me and I'll help you out.Oh, minor question, can we buy specialties like in Aberrant in this system?
Rolled 8>>30831298we can't even buy individual abilities, why would we be able to buy specialties?
Rolled 2>>30831231>If we want to stop human sacrifice in Wavecrest, we're going to have to figure out another way for the people there to feed themselves.Or we could beat and fuck them all into submission and induct them into our cult and reform them from human sacrificing to human sexing, as long as they don't harm the oomies
Rolled 1>>30831298In actual exalted? SureIn this extremely simplified version? Probably not
>>30831320"Beat them all into submission and bring them into line" would also work, yes. That's likely what will happen to the volcano gods if the Realm and the Immaculate Order properly take over Wavecrest. They'll get their designated festival days, and if they try to get more than their due (like, say, via human sacrifices) there'll be Immaculate Monks coming down on them to shove their heads up their asses. The Immaculate Faith is actually pretty good for the common people, they're just completely incompatible with us now that we're a Solar Exalt.
>>30831315In this case individual abilities would probably be the specialties. Lord knows I'd be willing to shell out for more lore just so we can stop arguing about what we do and do not know IC.
Rolled 8>>30831378much better to just get specialties in MA, instead of buying all of DawnNo-one needs all 4 combat abilities
>>30831393Probably wouldn't unlock charms though. Also, presumably you could only grab a specialty once/
No specialties in this system, sorry.
>>30831158>I like the way you think. Be loyal to me and I'll help you out. This is a cause we'd back even without him offering his service in exchange. We'll absolutely take him on. Then we'll go beat up some gods and give their volcanoes to Dancing Smoke (or swear them to similar terms with Mikahil's Caste Ability backing it up).
Rolled 7>>30831158>I like the way you think. Be loyal to me and I'll help you out.
Wait, wait... are we promising that we will go to war against a nation, conquer an island from it, and then give that island to this guy? What do we even know about this nation?
Rolled 1>>30831516They sacrifice all their criminals to volcano gods and trump up charges when their jails are empty.
>>30831516We're promisnig a small island off the coast of Tianna to him. Then we're gonna go beat up some volcano gods.Wavecrest is a pretty nice place to live aside from the whole human sacrifice thing, but that's a pretty big thing.
>>30831516We kind of do want a nation. So a little invasion here and there should be fine.
>>30831552>We're promisnig a small island off the coast of Tianna to him.>>30830052>"Promise me one island of my choice as a fief and you will have my sword and my ship.">Response option>Promise him his fief in Wavecrest if he serves you wellAre you certain we promised him an island off Tianna? Because it sure as hell seems we promised to give him a conquered island of Wavecrest, by the QM's given response.
>>30831590The Wavecrest Archipelago proper is three fucking huge islands, if I remember right. I don't think he wants one of those.Maybe we can get him one of the nearby smaller ones.
"Don't worry." You reassure him. "I have a definite dislike for human sacrifice and upstart gods. Welcome to the team. Heck, tell you what. If you'll need a hand with that and I'll be able to assist, you can count on my help. If things get rowdy or dangerous, I can probably wrestle a volcano god down.""You're either very sure of yourself, or very powerful." Is his reply."Or both.""Or both." He nods, shaking your hand. "However, my crew is not on board just for my personal reasons. They'll expect good work and either good pay or good loot.""For now I can't promise you anything. I'm not financially stable yet. But then, I've just arrived around these parts." You explain."If you can't guarantee a decent livelihood to my men, I can assure you that they will jump ship, figuratively or literally.""I'm aware of that." You sigh. "I'll guarantee I'll make things work.""Well, you're the one who can wrestle with gods. I'll trust your word for now, and my men will trust mine. The Fell-Star is yours. Your orders?""Stay in port for now. But be ready to set sail." You instruct him, pointing at the other two boats in the bay. "Together with the Black Eye and the Bloodshark. We have some business with the Fae tomorrow.""Fighting the Fae is pretty crazy." He mumbles. "...Will there be loot?"You pat his shoulder. "Only one way to find out is there?""Then it's not much different from regular piracy." He turns and heads back to the ship. "Keep me informed, missie."Well, now you have all three ships of the area under your order. That's nice. You stop and think about it: that's about a hundred and fifty men, all fairly experienced seamen and fighters, and three boats equipped for combat and speed. Not a bad force to start from, if you add a volcano goddess and a court of water spirits to the mix.You look at the sun. It's late morning, almost midday. You could stop with Tia for a quick meal at the open-air market, but what are you going to do in the afternoon?
>Check if the Black Eye has elected a new captain and bring them up to speed on the situation.>Talk with Tia (about what?)>Try and take over the entire village.>Try and gather iron weapons for your men and ships.>Try and contact another spirit or god and persuade it to help you.>Immediately head back to Tianna.>Immediately head to Azure Lake.>Explore the sea and other islands.>Other?
Rolled 4>>30831665>Check if the Black Eye has elected a new captain and bring them up to speed on the situation. And>Get Tia to gather iron weapons for your men and ships.we got some dosh now, give her some to get us some gear

>>30831665>Try and gather iron weapons for your men and ships. If we have free time after that we might want to grab another spirit.
>>30831665>>Try and gather iron weapons for your men and ships. We're really going to need this if we want to fight Fae.Of course, if we go back to Tianna they might be able to supply us with better-quality iron weapons I guess, but I don't know how much time is left.
Rolled 2>>30831665>Check if the Black Eye has elected a new captain and bring them up to speed on the situation.>Try and contact another spirit or god and persuade it to help you.
Rolled 5>>30831643>Check if the Black Eye has elected a new captain and bring them up to speed on the situation. Also, if we can delegate>Try and gather iron weapons for your men and ships. Are we going to need to bring the captains with us to Azure Lake? I believe you said that in the previous thread, EF, but I want to be sure since we're telling them to stay put and wait for order. Also, there's a trend of throwing several choices at you at once. You've been rolling with it great, EF, but would you prefer a single choice?
Rolled 3>>30831590thats why I voted to ask and know about his problem cause I didn't want to promise him the main fucking island and find out that the volcano god we spoke (and will fuck) to is the one who ate his wife
Rolled 3>>30831665>Immediately head back to Tianna. We need our weapons and to get our crews iron ones.
>>30831748It wasn't Dancing Smoke. It was one of the volcano gods of Wavecrest, since she was thrown in as a criminal. That's not something done on Tianna's island(s). Dancing Smoke was also complaining about not getting human sacrifices like Wavecrest's gods do.Tianna is part of the Wavecrest Archipelago in a geographical sense, but not in a political sense. It's a separate entity with its own practices.
Rolled 10>>30831665>Check if the Black Eye has elected a new captain and bring them up to speed on the situation. And once we are done get all three captains for a flight to azure lake and get the strategy session started.>Try and gather iron weapons for your men and ships. Some arrows and daggers/spear tips at least for start.
>>30831665>Check if the Black Eye has elected a new captain and bring them up to speed on the situation.>Immediately head to Azure Lake.
>>30831665>Check if the Black Eye has elected a new captain and bring them up to speed on the situation.>Immediately head back to Tianna.Send the fleet to Tianna and have them get the iron weapons there. Go ahead of them by air and inform Amata of their arrival before the markets close. Then we look for some more allies either around Tianna or where we are now.
>>30831747>Also, there's a trend of throwing several choices at you at once. You've been rolling with it great, EF, but would you prefer a single choice?Originally i disliked it because it made figuring out what you guys wanted harder, but the way i'm rolling with it now is that basically Maka's responses are non-binary whenever possible (i.e. you act as a mass of "voices in her head", or thoughts: she'll follow the strongest, but pay attention to all of them). When the option is not binary, if you post multiple mutually exclusive choices, i'll act as if that's you saying "any one out of these X is ok with me, you get to pick" and act accordingly.
>>30831846>but the way i'm rolling with it now is that basically Maka's responses are non-binary whenever possible (i.e. you act as a mass of "voices in her head", or thoughts: she'll follow the strongest, but pay attention to all of them).Well, that seems to be working out well. People seem to generally be pleased with the way Maka responds to things.
You hand the cash bag to Tia. "Tia, do me a favour."Your Lunar mate, who has been following you silently up to now, grabs it. "What do I need to do with this?"For a moment you begin wondering if entrusting her with this is a good idea. Tia is someone you can trust blindly, but is not what you'd call a "people person".Still, this is not rocket surgery. "I need you to find all the iron you can around Freeport. Have it turned into weapons. Swords, and tips for arrows and ballistas. Check with the weaponsmiths and blacksmiths, and offer to buy any iron tool off anyone to be turned into weaponry.""Will do." She simply replies, and turns around and walks off.Alright, you can only hope for the best now. Now you'll have to visit the Black-Tia stops, as if she had suddenly realized she forgot something. Turns around, heads back, gives you a kiss, and then goes back on her way.Alright, you can only hope for the best now. Now you'll have to visit the Black Eye and see who the new captain is.[...]"We haven't agreed on a man for the job yet, miss Maka." One of the misfits of the pirate ship's crew explains, clearly still intimidated by you."What's taking you so long?" You're on a timetable, and these people are stalling for time."It's that... well, captain Yagate...""He told you to pick a new captain, didn't he?""But... He was really afraid of mutinies, you see. So, well... There aren't many people who want to be captain now..."You sigh. So that's how it is: He got rid of anyone with leadership skills and ambition in his crew, and made himself indispensable while keeping everyone in line with brutal discipline. Not a bad system, but your crew only works well with you in command, and loses any initiative and ability to look after themselves. You're pretty sure they didn't immediately disperse only because you stepped in.You don't have time to let these people sort themselves out. And you don't have time to learn who among them is the best choice.
>I'll be your new captain.>Tia will be your new captain.>Regis will be your new captain.>Elect one. NOW.>I'll appoint one out of you, at random.>Fight among yourselves, last man standing is the captain.>I'll appoint a captain from you, from the Bloodshark's crew.>You're useless. You'll sit this battle out. Wait here for us to return.>You're useless. I'll split you up between the Bloodshark and the Fell-Star, you'll obey their captains.
>>30831486>(or swear them to similar terms with Mikahil's Caste Ability backing it up).EF, would Mikahil be amenable to helping that pirate guy fix Wavecrest's human-sacrifice problem?Or would that risk too much attention from the Realm, given that the place is technically a satrapy?
>>30832028>Tia stops, as if she had suddenly realized she forgot something. Turns around, heads back, gives you a kiss, and then goes back on her way.Aww.
>>30832040I half-want to give this ship to that crazy ranting guy from the Bloodshark, but I don't really see that ending well.
>>30832042>EF, would Mikahil be amenable to helping that pirate guy fix Wavecrest's human-sacrifice problem?>Or would that risk too much attention from the Realm, given that the place is technically a satrapy? You'd have to ask Mikahil, who has just left.In any case, messing with Wavecrest WILL draw attentio from the Realm. Maka is by nature a very high-profile Solar. Probably some people in the Realm already know about her.
>>30832040This look for a job for that guy we had not gotten the name of. Seems like a good time to get him.Captain Meno to the rescue!
>>30832040God damn it. Would be nice to have them beat the shit out of each other for the right of captain. But that would make it harder and moving them to the other ships would be adding unknown men.
>>30832073>You'd have to ask Mikahil, who has just left.Ah, well, we're not planning on doing that right now anyway.
Rolled 7>>30832040Get someone from one of the other ships.
>>30832072So do I, but he seems not that leaderish sadly. We do need to at least get his name before we leave however, that needs to be put on the top of our to-do list.
Rolled 6>>30832073The realm is also aware of the crazy Dawn Solar in the north amassing legions of DBs and killing all other DB children not born to his legions. That is probably why some people want a strong navy, so we can probably be to much of a force to take out like the crazy northern Dawn solar. That one is also not very subtle at all.
Rolled 9>>30832117Marching, amassing and camping legions are by default not very subtle. We however are one person and we are not very subtle. You are comparing the subtlety of a major warlord with a massive army to that of one girl.Somehow that just does not compute right in my head.
>>30832117The Realm does have bigger Solar problems than this one naive exile queen who's spending all her time trying to actually help people, yes.
>>30832117>Crazy Dawn Solar in the northI think you're thinking of a parallel Shard. This ain't Cannon Creation.
Rolled 2>>30832040>Elect that crewman we were talking about last thread, the one with dreams of a crusade against the storm mothers to fix women, and liberate the sexy water nymphs for our cult
Rolled 8>>30832152>The Bull of the North>Not canonWhat the fuck am I reading?
Rolled 7>>30832040>I'll be your new captain. At least as a temporary solution until we can get someone else
>>30832158I don't know that this is the best use for him. We'd need to train him into an actual competent captain first, and we don't have the Charms for that yet.Unless he turns out to have heretofore-unknown incredible leadership and command skills.
Rolled 5>>30832177ABSOLUTELY NOT. We know nothing about sailing, and are a magnet for the Storm Mothers. The captain needs to be a man.
Rolled 4>>30832040How about going to the either the Bloodshark or the Fell-Star, and asking the first mate to take over for a bit?
>>30832223>How about going to the either the Bloodshark or the Fell-Star, and asking the first mate to take over for a bit? This is probably a good plan. I'll back this.
>>30832152>Cannon Creation>CannonThere is a creation that is a giant cannon?
Rolled 10>>30832241Yeah, Gunstar Autocthonia.
>>30832270That is more a giant autobot.
Rolled 6>>30832283Creation in that setting was repurposed int a giant weapon platform, though.
>>30832293Really? Been years since I read it. So I wouldn't be surprised if I forgot this.
>>30832040>>I'll appoint a captain for you, from the Bloodshark's crew.Appoint the crusade-agaisnt-storm-moms guyReasoning: He has an opinion and is capable of and willing to articulate it.This basically puts him well above this whole lot who are scared of responsibility.*however* make it a brevet promotion - It's a trial period. If he doesn't perform well, then he can be returned to his prior crew without a black mark on his reputation. If he does well, the promotion sticks.
Rolled 8>>30832040>I'll appoint a captain from you, from the Bloodshark's crew.
>>30832089>>30832072That guy needs to be trained up to be a captain. And we need his name and all that.So my vote is...>I'll be your new captain.Because I'm certain we can find a sexy/slutty pirate captain outfit to wear...But it seems like everyone wants to appoint the chucklehead that no one knows his NAME yet.
Rolled 8>>30832368>>30832040The two captains should have a good choice for a captain. I mean if they get a prize ship they have to have a spare officer than can act as a captain for a while. If not we go with that one guy....
>>30832482Though, in all honesty, we could probably promote him to First Mate of the Black Eye, while we 'captain' it for the battle against the Fae to see how he does, then promote him to Captain afterwards...
>>30832482we can't be captain-we don't know shit, and we bring down hell via angry gods
>>30832314It's tasty. I was just reading it the other night. Anon was right in that Creation gets turned into a giant cannon if you consider Creation to be where all the Exalts are (who lost the Primordial War and are now fleeing into the Void). In truth, they're all living in Autochthonia (which is comparable to Creation in size) and have been re-purposing the Great Maker into world-weapon. True and proper Creation is called the Spiral now, and is a tiered constellation of worlds more fabulous and terrible than vanilla Creation. Oh, and TUS is now the Tyrant Sun hunting your asses down for his master, Theion. So, anon was right in that it was a creation turned into a cannon. Just not Creation with the capital C.
Rolled 9>>30832522huh?WTF are you talking here? I understand the words but the sentences do not form. Its just a string of nonsensical words man. Please explain this drivel and where it came from.
>>30832522One of the mirror realities.
Rolled 10>>30832547He's talking about an alternate setting Shard from the Shards of the Exalted Dream book. In it, the Exalted Host lost the Primordial War, the Unconquered Sun surrendered to Theion - the dude who would become Malfeas in the main timeline - and the exalts booked the fuck out of there in Autocthon. They are now turning Autocthon into a hyper-weaponized spaceship while trying to keep one step ahead of the Primordials in a Wyld that is outer space. It's Battlestar Galactica in Exalted.
>>30831643>"If you can't guarantee a decent livelihood to my men, I can assure you that they will jump ship, figuratively or literally."We should find and recruit a good trader in Tianna to manage our funds. S/he can manage the trade aspect of our little fleet, unloading privateered goods, hiring them out as mercs (or caravan gaurds), giving them merchandise to transport between locations, etc.We have the seed money that M gave us plus what we looted off that sharkman, ideally though the merchant will provide initial money and we provide the 150 sailors + 3 ships. (plus more sailors and ships later on, when we finish shanghaing the rest of them)
>>30832028You have 3 ships, get someone from the other 2 ships as their captain. Actually, might want to split these guys up between the other two crews (or not, consult your other two captains on the idea)
Rolled 3>Appoint new captain from the Bloodshark's crew.We don't know shit about sailing, we'd be deferring to a first mate without leadership skills the whole time.
>>30832687aside from that, we keep on going to do OTHER STUFF. the captain needs to stay with the ship all the time. We aren't ready for this level of commitment
>>30832368Who is that? I don't remember this guy.
>>30832822We never got the dude's name, but he was in last thread.
"You know what?" You raise your voice to be heard above the din and chaos aboard the Black Eye, and everyone falls silent and turns to face you. "Not to violate your pirate traditions or whatever, but, as your new employer, I kind of need you to be battle-ready in less than twelve hours, and don't have time for this. How about I appoint a temporary captain from the crew of the Bloodshark? He'd lead you for the duration of the oncoming operation, then step down for whoever you chose to vote - unless you pick him, of course."Silence."...Well?" You urge their reply. They murmur in assent. It's weird looking at this mass of burly, muscular, testosterone-laden brigands being so confused and indecisive without their leader. You do hope they get over it quickly, though. You head back to the nearby Bloodshark and explain the situation to Rubel."Do you have anyone who could take that position?""Well... I thought the Black Eye's crew was a mass of murdering lunatics, but if they're as pliable as you say without leadership..." He scratches his head, thinking about it."Someone who knows how to handle a ship and a crew, with leadership, personality, initiative." You explain. "Your first mate, maybe?""Alexei?" He wonders. "You know him?"You try and recall details about him. You have to admit you haven't paid a lot of attention to him: you mostly dealt directly with Rubel, and never had much time to spend socializing with the crew anyway. Was he the guy ranting about Storm Mothers yesterday? You have some vague memories about it...The captain goes and fetch you a men from his crew. Evidently this Alexei, his first mate. Not being dressed as colorfully as Rubel is, he mostly blends in the background when he's around, but now you give him a better look. (cont)
He's young, or looks young in any case, and for a moment you're almost fooled into doubting he might be a woman in drag (something that happens from time to time, if some of the stories you've heard about the West have to be believed). But then you convince yourself that he's not... or, if he is, she's amazingly good at it. Or isn't he? She? Whatever?...Given that you have your doubts, you decide it's just best to default to the assumption that he's male, being on a ship and all."Uh, you were asking for me, miss Kama?""Her name is Maka, Alexei." Saren slaps him in the head."Ow. Sorry... Maka. We didn't-""Yes, we didn't have a chance to talk before now. I'm sorry, I'd like to get to know every one of you, but that takes time we don't have right now." You decide to cut short without being impolite. "The Black Eye doesn't have a captain. We need someone to lead it for now. Once our campaign against the Fey is over, you'll return to the Bloodshark, unless the crew of the Black Eye accepts you as your new captain and you're willing to stay.""...A chance for a command? For me?" He seems surprised. He looks at Rubel, who nods in assent."Do your best, Alexei. I know you're a good deckhand, a good navigator, and a good first officer. You know all the tricks. And while you lack some experience, you'll make it. I'm sure you'll be a good captain.""...The crew of the Black Eye scares me a bit." He comments. "But I'll take the chance.""Excellent." You congratulate him. "Now go take care of it! Ah, and spread the word to all three ships: Tia is trying to scrounge iron weaponry around Freeport. If everything works fine, by tomorrow all ships and crews will have a complement of weaponry effective against the Fair Folk.""That's good to hear. I think every ship has its own little stock of iron weapons for emergencies, or, at least, mine does." Rubel nods as Alexei leaps offboard and runs across the docks to his new command. "But every bit helps."(cont.)
Rolled 4>>30833010With the amount of money we got from mikhail we could arm not only our pirates but the three rivers most likely as well and even pay for wages if we had to.

>>30833140A few days from now is not that long term...I DID mean it for after we deal with the fae.Over the last few threads it came up several times that maka has no idea how to pay them, even outright TELLING their captains that. This is awful for morale and probably why we lost that captain who retiredIf we agree to do this (after the fae) then next time someone asks we can assuage their fears with "oh that, here is how"
Rolled 3>>30833204>why we lost that captain who retiredlearn to read, pleaseTia murdered that guy and took his form

>>30833229>>30833244nevermind, you are right. Tia impersonated sharkguy retiring. I thought the retiring captain scene was a different captain from a different ship. That being said, we SHOULD, in the future, when asked by a subordinate how we plan to pay for it, have something better than "it will work out"
"Oh, by the way." Rubel says to you, uncorking a small glass flask full of a suspicious-looking reddish liquor and gulping down a mouthful of it. "I've been showing that new kid around, that Regis. He's a sharp one. Learns quickly.""Does he." You mumble, gesturing to him to share the drink. He hands you the bottle."Well, he certainly learned very quickly that no one on board likes pickpockets"You take a sip. The liquor warms you heart. "You didn't hurt him too much, I hope.""Nah. Been treating him as an adult, so just a cane hit. First offense and everything." He takes the flask back, closes, and pockets it. "'Sides, I don't really blame him. I've been on the streets too as a kid. There's a level of survival instinct in that. The mind understands, but the body sometimes just moves on his own when it sees an opportunity. Should be cured by now.""You took him down to the village with you shopping for supplies, I heard." You say. "Anything good?""Little shrimp really wanted a 'uniform'. Said he'd need one to be your butler." He gives a short grin. "Maybe just an excuse to get some decent clothes. Can't blame him for that either, considering his old rags. And after seeing your, em, 'fancy' outfit he probably didn't want to look bad next to you.""...You didn't get him anything coordinated with my outfit, I hope." You both laugh out loud."No, no, 'course not. Besides, where would I find it? Anyway, Yer husband or wife or whatever took care of that?""Tia?" You wonder, surprised."Yep, we met each other while we were in the market and had a chat. Didn't know she was shopping for iron back then, though. Girl's a bit weird, if you'll let me say so. Don't talk much, mostly just about you. Then again, It seems you do that to people. Anyway, she said she'll take care of getting a proper outfit for your new little errand boy.""I hope she'll not dress him in a wedding suit or something coordinated with HER outfit then." You joke.(cont.)
Rolled 9>>30833291If the Fae raid is successful they'll never question how we're going to pay for all this again.

You leave the Bloodshark and go look for Tia. It doesn't take long for you to find her, walking aroudn the marketplace area of Freeport with that bag of money slung over her back. You're surprised that no one thought of trying to pickpocket her, but then you remind yourself that she also has a pretty huge sword made of an obviously supernatural metal and she carries it openly with herself at all times. But you're also a bit surprised to see she's carrying a backpack or rather, a woven basket meant to be worn as a backpack, full of coal. She's all dirty with coal and soot herself. She stops when she notices you."...Tia?""Yes?""...What the heck are you doing?""Helping!" He points in the direction of a nearby house, a blacksmith's shop judging by the noise and smoke and hammering. she heads in and drops the basket to one side. You follow.Inside, there's a lot of work going on. Master craftsmen, apprentices, laborers working bellows and carrying stuff left and right. They're working hard. You're pretty amazed. "...How much did you spend to get this kind of response?" You ask, glancing at the barrels full of (badly-crafted, but it's what you get for a rush job) swords and spear and arrow tips cooling in water. She rummages in the bag. You hear it clinking. "I have absolutely no idea. About half of this stuff?"Of course she has no idea how money works, you think to yourself. It's amazing that she didn't get scammed somehow. Maybe... "...What did you tell them?""That everyone should help because there's about to be a Fair Folk attack." She replies with a large, winning smile."...A Fair Folk attack?""Yes! As in, there is going to be an attack, and it will involve the Fair Folk!"You don't know whether you should facepalm, or scold her, or praise her.(cont.)

"By tomorrow at dawn, working all night, we'll have enough to arm all three crews with melee weapons, and a large stock of arrows and ballista bolts. "Let's see. Tia?""Yes?" She asks, patting some of her dust off her beautiful dress. You notice it comes off cleanly."...How many people can you carry around while flying? Can you lug around me, Regis, Rubel, Alexei and Quint?""Probably." She responds nonchalantly. "We're going to the moot?""The moot?" You lift an eyebrow, unfamiliar with the term."Sorry, you don't know. A moot is just Silver Society slang for a meeting. A council. What we're having at Azure Lake is a moot.""...Silver Society?" You cock your head to the side."Lunars." She explains succinctly. "Well, those Lunars who go to moots and socialize with other Lunars.""That seems a rather recursive definition." You comment. "But nevermind. Let's do this, then. I'm sorry to ask you to carry all this weight...""It's nothing, really.""We...we're going to fly?" Regis seems to be having trouble to wrap his head around the idea."Tia is. She's going to turn into a bird and fly us to the main island where we'll meet other people." You briefly explain to him, and he gives you a definite "are you serious?" look. You try not to laugh."Sure am." She smiles at him, and waves a hand slowly in front of his eyes. The hand and arm begins to cover in feathers under his amazed eyes, before she snaps her fingers and it all turns back to normal. "You'll see.""Do you think I should find new clothes, too? Get a change of look? Wear something fancier?" You ask Tia, unsure of how a moot works. She looks at you for a few seconds. "...Maka. A moot is very, very informal. Your dress is probably way too fancy for it." She shrugs. "Not like anyone there's going to care all that much."Feeling a bit cheated out of the chance to have a wardrobe change of your own, you nod in response. "Well, let's round up the captains and get going, then."
We can close here, which is a good point, and i'll give you the XP and we can discuss about how to spend it and any questions you might have.Or, we can continue for as long as this already-autosaging thread has steam, but we'll probably have to stop right in the middle of things.Indicatively, tomorrow i'm free and at home all day, so unless something comes up i might be able to run a solid thread.
Rolled 3>>30834551PROMOTIONS.JPGI think we should manage to at least fly up and get to the 'moot' before the thread dies. Also a full on game day tomorrow. Most fortuitous. I will have to wake up early to go to work and get back home for this. That is if you start at the usual hour.
Rolled 4>>30834551Now's a good enough stopping point. We're on Page 6 and in autosage, so it would give us a solid chance to buy Dawn 3. Er, I mean, vote on what to buy....we're buying Dawn 3.
>>30834493>Feeling a bit cheated out of the chance to have a wardrobe change of your ownI am amused by this part of Maka's personality. She likes looking fabulous.
Rolled 8>>30834609Who doesn't? Seriously?>>30834597You know if we get 4 xp this session we might have some choice decision between Dawn 3 or some Zenith Charm...
Rolled 6>>30834551>Or, we can continue for as long as this already-autosaging thread has steam, but we'll probably have to stop right in the middle of things.this, if it's okay with you.We can spend our XP after the meeting
Rolled 4>>30834625>You know if we get 4 xp this session we might have some choice decision between Dawn 3 or some Zenith Charm...We should really get Dawn 3. We already got Hardship Surviving Spirit, and we're about to start a tactical meeting (Dawn) and improving Dawn will give us access to new, better combat charms. It's the best choice.
>>30834660Makes sense to me.
>>30834660And of course, the most pertinent question:Will Dawn 3 open up access to dance-fighting Charms?
Rolled 1>>30834746>Will Dawn 3 open up access to dance-fighting Charms?Probably. We also already know it opens up access to Tiger-Warrior Training Technique, alongside actual combat charms. It's a pretty sweet level of Dawn, all things considered.
>>30834551We don't have any more choices left, do we? We could just go until we're at Azure Lake and bed down until morning. Though I would like to know what's opened up for us with our new XP.
>>30834551>>30834660>>30834625>>30834597Generally speaking, I want to go down this route: D2->D3->D4->Z5->D5 which would give us access to all the best combat charms and protection charms. It is not particularly expensive either, just about 38 xp, which is the cost 4-5 charms.EF said in thread 4.5 that with Z5 we could get a charm that would permanently give us 2 damage per attack.
Yep, Dawn 3 would see us through the best for the next 1-3, maybe 4 forseeable sessions. We going to be discussing how to best beat the shit out of fairies, and then executing said fairy-beating plan while directing troops and punching. We need Dawn 3. Also a couple iron knuckledusters.
Rolled 10>>30834783>EF said in thread 4.5 that with Z5 we could get a charm that would permanently give us 2 damage per attack....I'm going to need an actual citation on that, because that sounds like bullshit.
>>30834799I like the iron knuckle dusters idea.
Rolled 2>>30834820>I like the iron knuckle dusters idea.Good, because we've already commissioned arm-length gauntlets and thigh-high high-heeled boots and greaves from a place in Tianna. The downside is that they're probably made from the finest bronze. The plus side is that we can probably get the knuckles, toes, and heels tipped in iron easily enough.
>>30834764>We also already know it opens up access to Tiger-Warrior Training TechniqueOh, hey, we need that too.I'm all for Dawn 3 then, if it means dance-fighting and tiger-warrior training.
>>30834803>http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/30466032>Ten Ox Meditation is around the upper limit of what a charm in an ability at 2 can do: it's vastly useful and greatly increases your power, but increases damage only for one attack, and has limits in time and essence cost.>A permanent, no-essence-cost version, with a prerequisite of ability at 4 or 5 and a prerequisite of having ten ox meditation itself, would be legit.>Alternatively, a version that enhances only the feats of strength (no extra damage), but for a single feat puts no upper limit to strength (can lift or break ANYTHING) would be 5 because it's really outlandish.
>>30834799>>30834820>>30834838I'm still pushing for just covering our entire forearms in chakram-bracelets eventually, but that can probably wait for when we learn how to dance-fight.
>>30834803I believe he said Dawn 5 would give us a scenelong damage booster. I think Dawn 4 was a permanent Ten Ox Meditation noncombat booster.
Rolled 10>>30834862Okay, first of all Ten Ox Meditation is a NIGHT Caste charm. Super-strength is a Night Caste thing, because they have Athletics.Second of all, I think only the Feats of Strength effect is permanent, not the damage effect, in that example.
>>30834890I think that would probably be overkill, but we'll see when the time comes.
>>30834941We could just wear two or three bracelets on each wrist, and then do the same with anklets. The "cover your whole forearm" thing is more for blocking, but then our flesh is basically iron anyway.
>>30834838Don't forget knees and elbows.
>>30834977That's for minion-leading and performance Charms, but we could absolutely do that too. That's just a War application of dance-fighting.
>>30834928Well, now we now our tertiary build goal, then. Punting people into the sun is awesome.
Closing here then.2 XP (base)1 XP (recruited Iohannes Quint)Given 7 XP, you can buy up any one ability you have at 2 and bring it up at 3.Since that seems to be the discussion at hand, yes, Dawn 3 would give you the option of buying War charms, including Tiger Warrior Training Technique. As a matter of fact, since you didn't fight much (except a scuffle with Yagate and a night with Tia, and Tia was definitely rougher), I think that, if things keep going on the trainy/planny/commandy side, your 3 charm picks for Dawn are going to likely be War-type charms.Of course it's also true that you're not likely to gain 10 XP BEFORE the campaign against the fae is well underway, so your choices are either save up to 10 now and buy a War charm soon, or buy Dawn 3, unlock some higher- grade War charms, and get them when you hit 10 Xp again (likely after the fight). If you're curious, i'll put up the charms that you might have available for purchase.Remember that they're dependent on a combination of thread contribution and what you did recently, though, so they might change over time.
Rolled 8>>30835094let's get dawn 3
>>30835094Dawn 3 would still assist us with War in general even without dedicated War Charms, yes?
>>30835094Put 'em up. Dawn 3 potentials, too.
>>30835127Yes. Leadership rolls are Social + Dawn. Military planning, tactics, strategy and logistics are Mental + Dawn.
>>30835137By the way, still voting Dawn 3. Just curious about available charms. We need our fighty and tacticool up.
>>30835194>tacticool>exalted>not rule of cool
>>30835170Will erfworld style dance fighting be an option?
>>30835170I am now sold on Dawn.
>>30834493Maybe we should look into something more practical for brawling. Like some chest wraps and shorts, at least, and take care of the tabard for we we do priestess-y stuff.
>>30835277It wouldn't matter at. Exalted works pretty explicitly on rule of Cool.
>>30835326While this is true, I'd rather not get our current getup destroyed while fighting.
>>30835277We don't need practical, we need something we can describe that will sound cool and get creative about.Kicking ass in flowy dresses is worth Stunt Dice.
>>30835346I'm cool with an anime style marital arts dress.
Dawn 3 bought.Your available charms right now:[dawn]Tiger Warrior Training Technique (Permanent, trains followers increasing their Physical, Dawn and Zenith scores by one dot per week of training, up to a maximum of either 4 or your score, whichever is lower.)Mob-Dispersing Rebuke (1 Ess. Say something threatening or make a show of strength, roll social + dawn. Unless a unit has a heroic leader who can beat your roll, the unit immediately routs and disperses.)Heroism-Encouraging Presence (1 Ess, Scene. +3 to all rolls related to mass combat and troop leadership.)[zenith]Husband-Seducing Demon Dance (1 Ess. A performance you give causes anyone seeing it to instantly gain a positive feeling for you (love, respect, starry-eyed admiration, etc))Respect-Commanding Attitude (1 Ess, Scene. Interrupts everyone and anything going on, in order to deliver a statement that will be heard)Tireless Hero's Soul (Permanent. Vastly increases resistance to tiredness and fatigue)Terrifying Glorious Presence (upgrades Majestic Radiant Presence: on top of its effect, all social attacks have 1 automatic success)[twilight]Judge's Ear Technique (1 Ess, Scene. Can tell when a person lies knowingly)Courtier's Eye Technique (1 Ess, Can tell someone's backgrounds)[night]Graceful Crane Stance (permanent, gives you supernatural balance and lightness of step)Lightning Speed (permanent, vastly improves your running speed)[eclipse]Sea Wolf Style (1 Ess, add +3 to all ship-handling rolls for the scene.)Merchant's Wisdom (1 Ess, Scene, add +1 to all commerce, economy and bureaucracy-related rolls for the scene.)
>>30835326Kind of. I mean you wouldn't want to fight a realm legion single handily with no equipment or charge one with no planning. So it isn't totally being cool. Also why do so many people who play exalted go to Tvtropes? The exalted Page is godawful.
>>30835382Qipao time? Will we be horning in on Tia's style if we wear long boots with it?
>>30835351I don't believe stunt dice apply in EF's system, but it may recover us a mote.
>>30835396Er, Merchant's Wisdom is +3, not +1. sorry.
>>30835396How many hours per week does it take for Tiger warrior training technique to be effective?
>>30835396>up to a maximum of either 4 or your score, whichever is lower.Evidently we're gonna need Physical 4 and Dawn 4.
>>30835406I was thinking something more like this. Panties are optional.
>>30835399Rule of Cool as a term has long since escaped TVTropes.
>>30835423They don't, nor does stunting recover you motes. Sorry, but you'll have to manage your resources in this system. Besides, it's hard to value "stunting" in a quest thread. However, whenever you hit essence 0, you will recover your first more of essence with just a short rest, as opposed to the rather lengthy recovery time of the other motes.
>>30835475That's clearly our Fair Folk doppelganger.
>>30835396Ooh. Heroism Ecouraging Presence is nice, too. Tiger Warrior First, though.
Rolled 4>>30835396what use is Zenith for mortals?
Honestly after tiger warrior I'm tempted to go for Judge's Ear Technique. Just because being able to tell if someone is lying or not can be absurdly useful in deals.
>>30835522>Tiger Warrior First, though. It depends on how many hour per week it takes. If it takes us full time then, we would be better off leaving it aside for now.
>>30835396Does Tiger Warrior Training Technique have any age limits? Warrior butler time
Rolled 10>>30835396>Tiger Warrior Training Technique (Permanent, trains followers increasing their Physical, Dawn and Zenith scores by one dot per week of training, up to a maximum of either 4 or your score, whichever is lower.)One dot in one of the three or one dot in all three per week?
>>30835475Previous threads have toyed with the idea that Maka never wears any (nor any bra) as a sort of signature style, which is an idea I wholeheartedly support.I think she's firmly in a "I'm a Solar Exalted anyway, also terrifyingly hot and I basically use my massive sex appeal as a weapon in social combat, what do I care" mindset. The way she acts (wearing what's basically an extremely short and narrow towel for days, flashing people without a second thought, climbing out of the sea naked with completely no sense of shame) seems to reinforce that.Granted, it's mostly our fault. I regret nothing
>>30835488Does Tiger Warrior train the three stats in parallel or is just one per week?
Rolled 3>>30835548Leadership. Integrity.Things like that.
>>30835461Eventually. Downtime may be at a premium, so we probly have plenty of time before we cap out. One week makes our pirates elite as hell, though. Peak of human strength and endurance, anyway.
>>30835548>what use is Zenith for mortals?Stamina, endurance, pain threshold, charisma and ability to inspire people. You know, same as you.>>30835565Not full time but you'd definitely have to spend at least half a day on that, every day.>>30835576None. Also the way I handle it is that you can use it to train a single person, and the speed at which he gains dots is days, not weeks. If you're training a lot of people, it works as normal, but if you're putting a single person through a training montage you train him or her up much faster.
>>30835680Lost your trip?
>>30835680>Physical 3, Dawn 3, Zenith 4 thirteen-year-old butler boyTerrifying.
>>30835592>>30835596One dot in one of the three per week.>>30835654Downtime will partially depend on how Maka acts. You will always have chances for downtime sooner or later, though. Up to now things have been fairly frenetic, but it won't probably be always like this.
>>30835654Can just imagine Maka trying to train a bunch of burly pirates on how to fight. Moving her arms back in forth in the stereotypical martial arts training poses. Mean while all these pirates are looking wondering what the Christ this broad is doing.
>>30835693blast, sorry. yes. Posting in another thread, forgot to put it back up.>>30835680>>30835713this was me.
>>30835680Regis, drop and give me twelve hours of pushups. You're gonna be Ahnold tomorrow.
>>30835708>Zenith 4 thirteen-year-oldHe's gonna be a little pimp.
>>30835713We should put off buying Tiger Training right away then. Increasing our pure melee fighting capability should make us a lot harder to kill. Without charms, buying a single point of Dawn today increased our killiness by 20%. Even with Hero Style the increase is not inconsiderable.
>>30835680>12 hoursThat's not all that bad. Once we get the lunar situation decently taken care of we should buy this and train up our pirates.
>>30835708The best part is He's young enough that he could easily be a terrestrial exalt just waiting to sprout.
>>30835728Remember, Maka's combat style this far has been a lot more brawling / street-fighting / wrestling than fancy martial arts.Meanwhile have another drawing made by the artist whose art I've shamelessly stolen for the thread image. I'm sorry for the panties
>>30835728"Just... keep your eyes on me, okay?""We assure you, that will not be a problem."
>>30835778Okay that is amazing in oh so many ways. Just need to go one on one with the kid. Then give him say a knife or something to defend himself with if he needs too. Then laugh our asses off when some thug picks a fight with him.
>>30835396>Physical, Dawn and ZenithWe can give our followers Zenith 4 this way?OH FUCK YES. Zenith 4/Dawn 3/Physical 3 navy incoming!
>>30835796I thought we were using Solar Hero Style martial arts?
>>30835818>Then laugh our asses off when some thug picks a fight with him. He'll kick the thug's ass and then steal his girlfriend. And then have no idea what to do with her because he's thirteen.
>>30835801I'd say it wouldn't be all that hard.
>>30835456Eight hours per week by default.
>>30835828Solar Hero Style is/can be street brawling.
Rolled 5>>30835782and then not get any charms because he starts with crippling Xp debt
>>30835828That's a brawler style.
You know who else we need ti give dedicated one-on-one Tiger Warrior Training?Captain Nemo. And then we get Irene to build him a sub.
Rolled 5>>30835858>Eight hours per week by default.not according to EF
>>30835828Solar Hero Style is boxing/kickboxing/wrestling/luchador.
Someone raised an issue earlier with conquering wavecrest in regards to getting a wild hunt called on us.It occurred to me that we don't have to let the people know they were conquered by a solar. We find and convince someone ambitious in their government (or who has some moral objections, or whatever) then help him/her stage a coup. That would be a low risk low reward approach. That being said, the rewards of personally ruling are greater, and just think of all those artifacts we can loot from a failed wild hunt.>>30835396>Heroism-Encouraging Presence (1 Ess, Scene. +3 to all rolls related to mass combat and troop leadership.)This seems to be better idea to take BEFORE taking tiger warrior. It is the equivalent of 3 weeks of training with tiger warrior, but added instantly and not capped by our own (currently low) stats. In the long term tiger is better of course.
>>30835828Which consists mostly of punching people through scenery and into his buddy you just threw a hundred feet in the air.
>>30835892That's fair. I was just talking about the default way it works in the core system.
Rolled 6>>30835858EF says its more than that here: >>30835680
>>30835841Clearly Maka needs to teach him that too./ss/>>30835828Yeah, that. My interpretation of Solar Hero Style is 30% kickboxing, 30% street fighting, 30% full-on WWF-style wrestling. 10% Saint Seiya
>>30835796>Remember, Maka's combat style this far has been a lot more brawling / street-fighting / wrestling than fancy martial arts. Our signature moves thus far have been1. uppercut an enemy to the sky2. Smash weapons with our bare flesh3. Wrestling... and I like it!
>>30833902>That shota outfithaha. I love Tia
>>30835902>This seems to be better idea to take BEFORE taking tiger warrior. It helps mainly with leading. But not so much with the troops skill level itself.
Rolled 9>>30835923>Solar Hero Style is 30% kickboxing, 30% street fighting, 30% full-on WWF-style wrestling. 10% Saint SeiyaBetter than pic related interpretation....
Rolled 8>>30835396>Judge's Ear Technique (1 Ess, Scene. Can tell when a person lies knowingly)don't you think 1 Ess is a bit much, when compared to how much it costs in normal Exalted? Also, can this detect half-truths too?
>>30835920>EF says its more than that hereI meant half of a "waking" day. Er, think either "train all morning, do w/e afternoon" or "do w/e morning, train all afternoon". Less than core.>>30835902The way Maka is shaping up to be, she seems to be rather bad and also kind of uninterested in this kind of subtle rulership. That can be changed, but first you'll have to persuade /g/ about it.>>30835868Mortals don't get XP debt in my system.
>>30835959So? the end result of both is +diceHeroism-Encouraging Presence+ 3 dice bonus immediately with no training of troops- Have to be present to give the bonusTiger warrior+ can increase dice further+ increase remains when we are not around- takes time to upgrade the troopsThe end result is that Heroism-Encouraging Presence is better in the short term while tiger warrior is better in the long term... and the two stack
I just wish we had access to integrity protecting prana. Getting total shaping immunity for a whole day is pretty balling. Lets you wade through fair folk like they are nothing.
>>30836029I thought we already had resistance to that as a Solar.
Rolled 8>>30836025that's not how it works, because these +dice aren't to the same thingadditional dice for commanding troops isn't the same as additional dice for your troop's attacks
>>30835973I'd say we would get the same effect by knocking the shit out of people we found out lied to us until no one dares.
>>30836003>The way Maka is shaping up to be, she seems to be rather bad and also kind of uninterested in this kind of subtle rulership. That can be changed, but first you'll have to persuade /g/ about it.Good point>>30836065can you explain the difference?
>>30835899>Solar Hero Style is boxing/kickboxing/wrestling/luchador.>Solar luchadorguy GUYS
>>30835973I think core underprices it. being able to tell when someone lies is very powerful. pricing it this much means you have to be smart and use it on a statement that really matters, which is sort of a minigame in and of itself. It can detect half-truths to the extent that you can tell how much the person in front of you is being honest or deceitful. People who say the literal truth in a misunderstandable way, or that say the truth but omit critical facts, don't ping as lies.If they mix truth and lies, you get a "he's mixing truth and lies" response and with a roll (soc + twilight) you can understand what's the truth and what's the lie.
>>30836116Having just played guacamelee I have to agree with your implied awesome.
Rolled 10>>30836091>can you explain the difference?I don't know how exactly EF is going to handle it, of course, but I imagine bonus dice for the commander help him keep his troops from routing and makes them follow his orders faster and helps him come up with better tacticsThe troops having more dice probably means they do more damage, dodge and parry better, can take more damage before they die etc.
>>30836116You may know Saint Seiya better as Knights of the Zodiac.
>>30836072Not that useful when your in say a diplomatic meeting with a Lunar who says he'll be there to help you in 5 days time. Then in five days you get jumped by fate ninjas and no help arrives. Sure it would be possible to come back but you're probably dead.
>>30836049Unless he said so somewhere and i didn't notice it, which is possible, only tattooed lunars have it canonically. as well as immunity to most buffs from sorcery. but EF's system might be different. But yeah if we had Integ Prana we would be straight up immune to fair folk assuming they worked like in there book. they could be different tho
Rolled 7>>30836165You can disbelieve most fair folk stuff or disspell it with iron
Rolled 5>>30836128It's also very in-theme for Solars, though. Being able to pierce all deception and being a ruler and judge that can't be lied to or deceived is incredibly solary
>>30836128Can we retroactively check statements? Like someone says something in the middle of a update then we want to check up on it after he already said it.
>>30836091>can you explain the difference?Training your troops makes them more skilled and powerful even when you're not around. It's also not a purely physical training, as in increases NCO-equivalent leadership and self-confidence. Basically it makes them into an effective, powerful combat force that can also operate fairly effectively on their own.It doesn't increase Mental nor Twilight (which is general culture, knowledge and occult), Night (stealth) or Eclipse (travel and logistics), so it can't also improve high-level officer's planning and strategy skills, magical/thaumaturgical support, black ops-type skills, the ability to manage supply lines, or in general all high command level stuff. (There's a separate Twilight 3 power for that)Improving your own War score makes you a better, more skilled, more charismatic, more effective commander, but it does nothing to improve your troops in and of themselves. It doesn't make them stronger or less likely to tire or sturdier or more skilled with their weapons, nor does it make them better at managing themselves or acting independently.Basically: Tiger Warrior Training Technique if you want elite troops that can fight under you but also carry out actions on their own. Heroism-Encouraging Presence if you want to be an amazing battlefield commander whose troops can rely on.(Both if you want to assrape any armed force the universe might toss at you and forge a mighty empire on the bones of your enemies.)
>>30836297So, first Tiger-Warrior, then later Heroism-Encouraging. Got it.
>>30836297>Imagines the anal rape from Physical 4+Dawn 4 forces lead by Dawn 5 Maka using Heroism Encouraging Presence.Jesus. That is like rape.
>>30836240It is, but again, I'd like it to be a powerful charm that is to be used carefully.>>30836262Of course you can.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uay7HEob1os
>>30836297>increases NCO-equivalent leadership and self-confidence.Okay then. I was wondering there for a second why increasing discipline wasn't mentioned.
>>30836297Thank you, but that doesn't actually answer the question (due to the context)Namely, if you are personally leading a troop into battle who had 3 weeks of tiger warrior training, vs leading a troop without said training while using Heroism-Encouraging Presence. What is the difference then, mechanically. Don't both just add +3 dice to the encounter in such a situation?
Rolled 4>>30836358>>30836350>>30836297And than add to his the Twilight Charm to train officers in the more specialized stuff for multiple armies for greater strategic blitzkrieg.
Rolled 1>>30836457Clausewitz and Sun would both be proud.
>>30836450No. One adds a +3 to Maka's ability to lead. The other is a total of +3 to the troops' actual personal rolls.
>>30836450That does answer the question. Read better.Heroism Encouraging Presence adds +3 dice to your leadership rolls temporarily.Tiger Warrior Training + 3 weeks of training would permanently add +3 to your troops' Physical, Dawn and Zenith scores (separately, you pick where each +1 goes). These two charms improve different things in different ways.
>>30836495I know, the +3 to troops own personal ability means they keep it when she isn't around. And the +3 to leadership means she provides it to fresh troops. What I am actually asking is, IF she is personally leading the troops, is there any effective difference between the two.Aka"Maka leads the untrained troops with heroism, roll Leadership 3 + Troops 3 + 3 from heroism charm = 9"vs"Maka leads the trained troops without heroism, roll leadership 3 +Troops 6 = 9"effectively making the results identical in that specific situation. Where it differs is when1. The troops have to act without her around2. She leads random untrained troops she just recruited
>>30836573I think successes rolled on a leadership roll provide +1 dice to the troops. That means Maka's +3 is the equivalent of +1.5 for them.
>>30836573Think of it this way. One means that your troops are awesome. The other makes your opponent suddenly realize that you managed to hide an airship behind a small tree.
>>30836573Heroism also costs essence/use, so Tiger warrior is more cost-efficient.
>>30836573Your troops' scores are not a dice-adder to your own scores. What made you think that I'd be doing that?
>>30836626Yes. YES! this system doesn't make armies pants for the exalt to wear thank you God in heaven.
>>30836622Rommel is that you?
>>30836675I've never liked that assumption in the corebook Mass Combat system. I can see why it was made, from a game design point of view, but I still don't like it personally. Besides, the system itself was a valiant effort, but it ended up being clunky as hell. Unfortunately.
>>30836626My mistake then. How does large scale combat work then?>>30836622Fluff with identical end result>>30836624And tiger cost weeks of training.
>>30835902We don't strictly need to RULE Wavecrest, we just need to change its relationship with its gods. Which is what Zeniths are for anyway. At least, assuming our main goal is just stopping human sacrifice.
>>30836785Rommel is close to a real life Creed.
>>30836809>At least, assuming our main goal is just stopping human sacrifice.ahahhahah. Main goal so far given how we have voted seems to be building up power in the west until we are large enough we can march into Gem.
>>30836626>Your troops' scores are not a dice-adder to your own scores. What made you think that I'd be doing that?I was NOT thinking that we add their dice to ours, I was thinking that we add our dice to theirs. That is: "Troop performance is a sum of troop quality and the leadership bonus we provide". Thus a +3 leadership seemed clear to me that it indicates +3 to the effective score of the troops under our command for the sake of THEIR performance (not our performance).
>>30836297>or Eclipse (travel and logistics)We might need to get Nemo this stuff too.
>>30836809Well..1. We have judged the current rulership to be corrupt, the penalty for that is removal2. We are a queen, we want a kingdom to rule. And they are the ideal candidate (we want to exterminat the lintha, we are allied with tianna and three rivers. this leaves wavecrest) 3. We could have them ally with tianna and three rivers for the benefit of all three. While it MIGHT be possible for us to convince their gods to stop accepting human sacrifices or convince the rulers to stop giving human sacrifice, where is the JUSTICE in that?
>>30836830Yeah, but I don't know that that's necessarily going to be accomplished by knocking over Wavecrest. We CAN, if that's how we want to go about it, but the only specific thing that's been mentioned re: Wavecrest is "fuck human sacrifice".The amusing thing is I'm running a game where the players are a Terrestrial Brotherhood sent by the Realm to stop a self-styled Solar pirate king from taking over Wavecrest and using it to mount a major military offensive, which is almost identical to what you're proposing for Maka now.The Terrestrials are also expected to punch volcano gods in the face until they stop demanding sacrifices in the process.I am amused by the symmetry here, considering I've been planning that game since long before this quest started up.
>>30836896Wavecrest aren't exactly pro-Lintha either, from what I remember. It's mostly the fact that we're removing their right to self-governance (while Wavecrest is technically a satrapy, the Realm has almost no influence there - as evidenced by the fact that their volcano gods can still demand human sacrifices without getting beaten senseless by Immaculate Monks).
