>Introduction & Summary: You are Katja Hartkern, a former Disciple of the Kyokugenryuu style of "Full-Contact" Karate and right now, you're sitting under a gorgeous Sakura Tree reflecting on how much craziness you've gone through as the day starts to slowly fade... You started the day by butting heads with Hatsune Horikawa waking you up and making you breakfast, sounding and acting a bit like a younger, feminine Takuma Sakazaki and offering condolences to her daughter, Tsuyako for having to deal with this woman on a daily basis. You briefly considered kicking her out of your appartment simply on the basis that she was annoying the hell out of you in the morning, but decided against it after Hatsune explained that the two of you partied at The Pao Pao Cafe the night before and that Shermie had asked her to keep an eye on you in case you had missed your wake-up call.Begrudgingly accepting that, the two of you had ridden down to Sound Beach to attend and the launch of Shermie's new swimwear catalogue (The one you had posed for around 2 weeks ago) and sign copies of it for fans, most of them actually not too creepy considering your own warped view of your body and sexuality (Practically non-existent in your mind)... However, Chris (AKA "Justin Beiber" AKA "Orochi Christ Superstar") had infiltrated the signing and attempted to take your life, trying to shoot you (which had been deflected by Tsuyako Horikawa's Dropkick and Fiona Grave's tackle) but also hiring some extra "Mucsle" in form of notorious crime boss Ryuji Yamazaki.Thankfully, you had gotten the fight to spill outside of the shop, the traffic jam caused by the signing itself providing a pretty stable place to fight... However, despite the fact that you had battled back after a rough start, Yamazaki had basically trounced you and probably would've killed you if it weren't for Hatsune stepping in to finish the fight in your stead...
>>30755859Thanking her, feeling rather famished and wanting to get away from the rather pushy attempts of Jean-Claude Gabriel trying to hit you up for a date earlier than you had expected, you invited Hatsune, Tsuyako, Fiona & Mai Shiranui (Who had been present the whole time) to join you for some lunch at "La Illusion" (Using the excuse to meet up with your teammate King in advance of "The King of Fighter's: Infinite Match")... However, the loss to Yamazaki and the lack of power behind your new "Desperation Move" (The "Fuujin to Raijin no Tenshouken") weighed heavily on your mind and while the others tried to offer you advice and cheers of encouragement, you weren't having any of it today and launched into a "Froth-Job" of damn-near EPIC proportions...After ranting and raving about how you had felt that no one in the room could understand the amount of madness you've had to endure (Multiple Assasination Attemps, Hospital Visits, getting exiled from your Dojo and run out of your home TWICE, etc. etc.), Hatsune stepped up and offered up how she had to endure nearly the same amount of struggle and strife, though ceding that she had the edge in your so-called "Trauma-Off"...Fiona had also chipped in a little of her own sordid past of working for what sounded like the worst wrestling promotion EVER, though things went from bad to worse when Andy Bogard & Joe Higashi arrived; The Horikawas (Mother & Daughter) practically challenged him to a fight right then and there, their hostility stemming from an earleir incident where Joe had refused to fight Tsyuako on the grounds that he "Doesn't do Fat Chicks"...Quickly wanting to extracate yourself from this downwatdly-spirralling situation, you had quietly left after the commotion died down and everyone sans you and King had left for The Pao Pao Cafe, King coldly asking you to return only later tonight...
>>30756308Taking time to ride around town on your motorcycle, you headed down to Meadow's Park, running into Ryo Sakazaki as he had finished up a fight in the place you had normally done Tai-Chi sessions with "Slick" Sukihiro. Though a part of you wanted to fight him, you backed down and talked about how your lives had been going while doing a few "Cool-Down" stretches and exercises...>Out-of-Katja Summary:Interestingly enough, the players started out the Quest as Bizuki Iijima, helping her escape from her captors (Seth and "The Agents") her mind-controlling powers to take advantage of a pair of rookie agents to "Relieve some Stress" and go on a Lesbian romp at her mansion on the outskirts of South Town National Park... At that point, the players assumed control of one Jean-Claude Gabriel as he had flown in from Indianapolis, IN and got stuck in the traffic jam that flared up around "Fantastique La Femme".>The Rules:http://pastebin.com/Dj9z4r1t>Previous Thread:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/30608713/>Contact Information:https://twitter.com/WeaselThat>Stats Page:http://pastebin.com/eUELr1DM===>Days until "The Infinite Match": 10>Date: Sunday, May 20th>Time of Day: 4:05 PM===>Updates now Begin>You now assume direct control of Katja HartkernYou linger around the park for a little bit longer, reflecting on the day for a little bit and wondering if all of your problems regarding the Sakazaki's are down to Takuma not really accepting the ideas that you represent in his Dojo, then idly wonder why the stuff you were supposed to be getting at that one garage near your appartment for your bike hasn't arrived in yet, or why you haven't been called about it...
>>30756484Figuring that the day's starting to get long and that you've got nothing else to do, you start the bike up and let it idle for a bit, then ride the back roads around South Town National Park, fueling up at that quaint little roadside Gas Station halfway there before riding into the city itself, arriving at Wessel's Garage about an hour and fifteen minutes after departing from Meadow's Park, Hatsune Horikawa walking out just as you roll up and park your bike up on the sidewalk."Hey... How're doin'?" Hatsune asks you in Japanese, your helmet in her hand alongside her own."Not too shabby... How'd that fight go?" you ask, trying to sound friendly and hoping that you didn't juststep on an emotional landmine."Sox kicked his ass after the second round" She replies, a little bit of pride in her voice at how her Daughter fared against such a well-known Martial Artist, letting the sound of the roar of the crowd after she had made him tap-out from the "Onikawan Fisherman's Lock" ring in her hears for a second or two... "You like this place?" You ask, snapping Hatsune's attention back into place and looking to see what a woman that probably was a "Bosozoku" when she was young (Which is just a gut feeling, but a fairly strong one considering her background and her overall look)."It's pretty good, yeah... They specialize a little too much on the European Bikes, but I can't complain; They got me the right exhaust for my Moto-Guzzi back home for about a quarter of the price" she replies, then asks "You get something from them too?""Yeah, I was wonderin' when the stuff I ordered was gonna come in..." "I wish I could've checked for you earlier; They're closing up early and the owner's out of town... Said he was going out to "Indiana" or somethin" Hatsune explains as you get back your bike and start it back up."Hey, can I get a ride back to my place? Mai and the others are still at that Cafe..." Hatsune asks, tossing you your helmet...

>>30756815>>30756895>>30757074You catch your helmet single-handedly and reply "Sure... Hop on" before you slip your helmet on.Hatsune grins, then straddles your bike and hugs your midsection, tapping the back of your helmet to let you know that she's ready to roll. You oblige and ask "Where to mate?""3215 Sugarland Way" she yells as the two of you ride off, not quite sure where that could be, but confident that you'll get there fairly quickly... However, that doesn't seem to be the case as you get stuck in "Rush Hour" traffic, Hatsune a little irritated at your tardiness and pulling off into a parking lot at the first opportunity."Er... Y'know what? I honestly don't know where to go" you sheepishly admit, then ask "You mind if you ride?"Though you can't see her eyes, you can guess that Hatsune's rolling her eyes at you as the two of you switch positions, Hatsune taking the reigns as you gab onto her, really gunning it and pushing you bike as fast as it could go in certain stretches of backroad...Eventually, you arrive at a quaint, almost normal-looking block of clean buildings at around 6 PM, the traffic from earlier and getting lost contributing to your slow ride."Terribly sorry again fer gettin' lost... I never come out this way" you reply in earnest as Hatsune puts your bike up on it's stand and hops off, undoing her helmet as you slide into the front part of the saddle."No worries..." she replies, trying not to sound too harsh as she slaps your back and says "Take it easy kiddo" before heading up the steps and back to her daughter's place. You pause a little, wondering where to go and what you could do for a few more hours until you have to go see King...

Driving and taking care of my errands took MUCH longer than I had anticipated... While a part of you had wanted to head down to the Pao Pao Cafe 2 and get some fight action in for the night, you had decided to take the "Sae" option and rode back to your room at "The Imperial" Hotel, taking side-streets and going through a few residential areas to try and avoid the crunch of rush-hour traffic.Thankfully, it seemed to work as you arrived at the hotel in little under an hour, only getting bogged down by traffic wihin sight of the building's parking garage entrance. You pull up in your usual spot and hop off the bike, shutting everything off and head upstairs to check in at the head desk. After finding that you hadn't recieved any calls, you rode up to your pad via the elevator and stripped out of your clothes, immediately going downstairs to the gym's heated pool and taking a few minutes to stretch before diving in, warming yourself up and realling pushing against the water, the stresses of the day flowing out of your body and being used to fuel your drive to complete your laps as quickly and efficiently as possible. You got through the 40 laps in record time, not even bothering to take a break in between sets as you continuously swam, finally resting your upper body out of the pool little less than 25 minutes after you had started...You quickly picked yourself up and dried yourself off before heading upstairs for a quick, hot shower, the warm water feeling good on your somewhat sore body, though honestly you feel like you could've gone down and fought at one of the cafes tonight if you were so inclined...

You don't know quite what compelled you to do so right in the middle of the spacious living room rather than go back downstairs into the gym proper, though you feel spurred on by the fact that your stomach just didn't seem to look as tight as you could remember it being (And almost getting shaded by Fiona Grave's "Six-Pack" Abdominals). You start to breath hard a heavily halfway through the first set, your injuries from the fight with Ryuji Yamazaki starting to show themselves as having a longer-lasting impact on your body than you had thought... Nonethless, you get through the first set and then stretch some more, trying to get the "Stiff" feeling out of your "Core" before doing a second set of 150 Sit-Ups."Shit, what's wrong?" you ask yourself, looking down at your stomach as if it'll answer you... And does in a way, as it gurgles back at you, the pangs of hunger flaring up yet again. You close your eyes and try to get through the last set of Sit-Ups as quickly as you can, your body's strength exploding off of each and every repetion, compelled to get through it after seeing Ryo Sakazaki do your "Usual" stretching routine without a sweat while you had to really dig deep to match him...Fnally, you finish up and collapse on the floor, a trickle of sweat running down your forehead, a river of it cascading down your tank-top... Still, you manage to finish it, though you immediately do arm stretches and towel off as soon as you drop down from the bar.Gasping for breath, you quickly head back upstairs and go straight to your walk-in closet, picking out a pair of sweat pants and an old shirt to put on before slipping into your motorcycle leathers for the first time since you had cleaned them, the warm weather drying them out much fast than you had expected and finding that they still have that "Worn-In" feel you came to love after a while... You then put on your boots and riding gloves as well as grab your helmet, wallet and cellphone before heading down to the lobby. After telling the head desk to hold all of your calls, you walk down to the parking garage and hop on your bike, slipping on your helmet and firing it up before leaving "The Imperial" at just about 8:45 PM, joining the hustle and bustle of South Town's traffic... Curiously, you seem to cut through the streets like a hot knife through butter, making it to "La Illusion" in just about an hour as you gently ride through that back-alley you had called Seth from earlier in the day, confident that no one's going to find or try to steal your bike back here...You then slip off your helmet and walk inside the bar itself, the place pretty full for a Sunday Night with King not even glancing at you as you take a seat near the back.
>>30765951You see the two waitresses Sally & Elizabeth (Twins that are STILL hard to tell appart in your eyes) practically dance around the fairly cramped bar, each of them aiting tables and pickingup serving trays as though they had choreographed it all in advance and unzip your leathers a little, the warm air in the bar feeling like a good contrast from the relatively cool night air of South Town' streets.>A.Say Something>B. Still, it was nice enough to relax a little and enjoy the jazzy soundtrack piped in through hidden speakers, "People Watching" for a little bit until you spotted Yuri Sakazaki timidly walk in, trying not to look too inconspicuous in spite of her oddly baggy-looking clothes and large sunglasses as she sits down across from you."Hey... Now imagine something along those lines happening to me over three solid months and you can tell why I'm not exactly in a good mood all of the time."King nods, acknowledging that your explanation held water as she then asks "What have you been doing as far as training?""Oh, just workin' out at home, gettin' into fights wile I can... I think I might cruise the Pao Pao Cafe tomorrow night if I can; I've been itching to fight all day" you reply."OK... Yuri? What about you?""I kind of haven't really been fighting regularly since Katja left" she reluctantly admits, explaining "All of my time has been taken up by teaching classes at the Dojo."King ponders her response with some disdain, though you can tell that her eyes are more focused on why YOU, of all of her patrons, have an untouched glass of beer next to you.You look up at her and tell her "Some guy at the bar ordered it for me... But I'm not sure how clean the drink is, y'know?"King nods and snaps her fingers, one of the waitresses coming over as she asks "Could you just drain out that glass on the center of the table and come back with a fresh one?""Sure!" she cheerily replies as King turns back to you and asks "OK... Lastly, do all of us have outfits for the dress ball tomorrow night?""Dress Ball? ... I DEEPLY appologise for not posting a "Send-off" update last night; Turns out that a tree feel onto some powerlines and cut electricity to my Internet Service provider... Fortunately, there are several spots in my podunk town that still have Wi-Fi Connections.>>30776128>>30771756>>30773916>Updates officially resume>You now control Katja Hartkern's psycheAfter that relatively "Formal" meeting, you and King had loosened up considerably, swapping stories back and forth for nearly two solid hours as the drinks began to flow as you found that she had basically the same kind of issues regarding her gender that you have... You can still imagine the face you had made when you learned how King had disguised herself as a man in her youth in order to learn how to fight and better herself in the art of Muay-Tai (As no one would dare train a woman in what's arguably a "Man's Art") as well as protect herself from some of the more unsavory elements the "Old" South Town had...Eventually, "Last Call" gets declared and King offers to pay for a taxi for the three of you and you agree with her, being FAR too drunk to ride home... You eventually arrive at "The Imperial" at just before 1 AM and fall asleep shortly after ward, changing into a set of older clothes instead of your normal pajamas just incase you wake up halfway through the night and have to vomit...===>The Dream Sequence Now Begins>New Thread Theme: You drearily wake up in an old, somwhat cramped-looking appartment, the neon of a nearby sign bathing the room in a slightly Orange-ish/Pink light, your cellphone buzzing on your nightstand. You reach for it and press the "Answer" button, a smooth-sounding voice on the other end asking "Hey... You get that thing I sent ya'?"You quickly say "Yes", your tone suggesting that you were instructed to say only "Yes" or "No" when talking to this man (Who sounds a bit like Kazunori Kazahaya, now that you think of it)...
>ACTUAL New Thread Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK8QMUT3piE>>30778592"In Reading gaol by Reading town there is a pit of shame, And in it lies a wretched man eaten by teeth of flame... In burning winding-sheet he lies, and his grave has got no name. And there, till Christ call forth the dead, in silence let him lie: No need to waste the foolish tear, Or heave the windy sigh: The man had killed the thing he loved, and so he had to die. And all men kill the thing they love, by all let this be heard; Some do it with a bitter look, Some with a flattering word... The coward does it with a kiss. The brave man? With a sword!"THe voice on the other end hangs up as you recall that he had just recited the last part of "The Ballad of Reading Gaol" by Oscar Wilde, one of your father's favourite poems...You get up and do a few stretches, not bothering to check what time it is as you amble towards your closet off to the right and get into "Wardrobe": A White Bra and Panties to start (As you had been sleeping in the nude yet again), a Black T-Shirt and a pair of Faded "Acid-Wash" Blue Jeans to tuck them in... Lastly, the Coup-De-Gras of your ensemble: A Faded Purple "Letterman's Jacket" with a reversed "K" on one side and an odd, almost Superhero-Like Luchadore's mask that you had recieved as a gift from one of your employers. You slip on the Jacket, put on a pair of Boots Riding Boots and Gloves and keep your mask in your jacket's only pocket before heading out of the appartment and walking down a rickety old staircase that lazily You fish around a dumpster out behind the building and find a Semi-Automatic Pistol, fully-loaded and with a few extra clips of ammuntion next to it... Though curiously enough, you had almost expected them to be there and grumble a little about the kind of "Hardware" your bosses seem to be giving you as you open up your coat and put the gun in a holsert you had on the inside of it.
>>30778974Finally, you walk down towards the external parking garage out near the dumpster and find what you can see is your motorcycle, though it's not a Triumph Thruxton; Instead, it's the Norton F1 that you had come across quite a few times in the past, looking almost menacing sitting in the low light of the garage. You hop on and grab the handles, going through a somewhat elaborate start-up procedure before yyou fire up the engine, hearing it's unusual exhaust note and revelling in it for a few moments before you put your head down and ride off, beginning your "ob" for tonight...>A. Begin your "Mission" and play through the dream as Katja Hartkern, stopping at the first crosswalk to think over where your current location should be in relation to your "Target".>B. START!" as you slowly walk up to the bar near the back, putting through the dance floor as you look around and try to spot your target... And catch a glimpse of "Him(/Her?)" walking out of the bathroom hallway. You can't quite tell if it's a guy or a girl, though "He" (As you decide to call this androgynous-looking fellow) is around 5'10" tall and rather skinny, with pale skin broken up by freckles and piercing green eyes... Most notable are his rather elaborate nails (Impeccably manicured and done with rather pretty art), the VERY femminine Platnium-Blonde Hairstyle and "His" rather odd-looking Red Leather bodysuit with black trim and a rather ridiculous-looking belt and White "Platform" shoes (With HEELS, you note).Somehow, in this setting and looking at your target's clothes, you don't feel too out-of-place in your current get-up as you try to decide how to go about killing him/her.>A. >>30781477>>30782183>>30782533You briefly consider getting off of your stool at the bar and turning him into paste with your fists and feet, but decide against that as you wait around for a few minutes, looking for the right opportunity to strike... When a rather attractive Asian lady that looks a bit like Mai Shiranui with Tsuyako's short hairstyle walks up to you and asks "Wanna dance big guy?"You look at her, taking in her beauty and the seemingly scandalous dress she's wearing and shrug, saying "Sure" in a deeper, darker voice than normal (If only to play along with the fact that she thinks you're a guy) and escort her to the dance floor, slowly starting to get ennaptured by the sway and sights of her figure dancing along with her...Though you also keep an eye on your target, subtly moving towards him like an old professional at heart as you dance, quietly waiting for that one perfect moment to grab that switchblade you keep in the sleeve of your jacket and use it to end that andro's life.Whether through sheer impatience or panic, you take the first opportunity to strike and make a stylish turn towards his chest, using all of your strength to try and force the knife to go through the leather outfit that he has on...When you feel your knife pierce through his outfit and sink into his chest, you hear a loud scream asyou start to twist it's hilt, truly intent on ending this man's life... Though you then a look up as a bright, white light fill your vision, a voice in the back of your head telling you "Well done. >>30784654It's part of her masculine charm, after all. Part of the original idea was how both men and women would be attracted to her, assuming they could even tell she was a woman, and that she could pass convincingly as a man. Basically, if Katja weren't so emotionally fragile, she could literally not keep the bitches off her.
>>30784654>>30784978Her vocal chords got raised up about half an octave after getting self-electrocuted a while back though... So yes, she's still got that masculine charm, but it's slightly harder to try and hide her gender (Mirroring what had happened to King, basically). Also, I think a re-cap thread might be in order, if only to face the kind of craziness that's been going on in her life... You then keep tailing her for a few more minutes as she stops at a crosswalk, waiting for the light to turn red and the "PEDS XING" sign to flash, the smell of fresh rain on your nose as you lie in wait, part of you wondering if this woman's the next "Target" you have to take down...You take a quick breath, then get ready to "Cock the Hammer" and step out of the shadows... Only to get hit by a flying kick, not unlike a higher-hitting, slightly more "Wild" take on the first hit of Ryo Sakazaki's Hien Shippu Kyaku as you try to Ukemi, only to get tripped up by a slide that knocks you over and leaves the other woman behind you somehow..."Shouldn't scum like you know not to strike the real deal?" she asks you, taking off her coat to reveal that she's wearing a set of Motorcycle Leathers much like your own, though much more stylized with extra belts, buttons and zippers eveywhere with a slightly red hue to the suit overall... She licks the blood trickling from her cheek, trying to psyche you out by yelling "You fucking bitch, my suit got like this from all the blood that got stained from killing weak copies like you!", running up to you with a glowing hand of pure electricity... However, you zip past her with the Raijin Sprint", then try to attack her with a Hien Shiipu Kyaku of your own, only to find that she had somehow slid past you with that sliding move again. The two of you traded blows for a little bit, similarly attacking each other yet with very different movesets as you ready a Ha'oh Raijinken, only for your doppelganger to cancel it out with a more stylish version of her own, the force of two seperate-yet-equal sources of electricity pushing the two of you back to a more neutral space."You're a lot tougher than the others... Mind if you fill me in 'ere?" you half-joke as you halfway expect her to try and fling another ball of electrified plasma at you...Instead, she says "Why should I tell anything to a dead woman?" with a sneer, then launches at you with another flying kick, though you jump and clash with her with your own jumping Hard Kick, your feet touching for a few brief moments in-air before the two of you start to fight once again on the ground, "Not-You" catching you off-guard with an awkward-looking high kick that feels like it took your head off... However, you were able to brush the kick off and counter her next attack with a Hien Shippu Kyaku, knocking her down right in front of you as you ponder whether to continue this fight or not...===>Your Health: 80%>"Not-You's" Health: 49%>Your Ki: 33%, No Bars>"Not-You's" Ki: 49%, 1 Bar of Ki===

Fortunately, you manage to hop back and dodge the sweep attempt and start to defend against "Not-You's" attacks, some of them looking pretty sloppy inspite of their strength as you ask "C'mon, not even a pet name to call you by?" while you block a series of wild-looking kicks, feeling no restraint from her attacks at all but not being quite fast enough to try and counter her."OK, call me "Katherine the Bitchslayer" she yells as she tries to rush in, but backs up a little and throws a pair of sunglasses out of her cleavage at you... You hold up your guard a little longer despite fighting a strong temptation to seize the opening and try to attack her, which thakfully get proven as she lunges forward with an odd-looking double-fisted punch....Her recovery on this attack is rather tardy though as you blast her with a Raijin Lightning Rush, knocking her down HARD onto the sidewalk... Though you rush to her aid and help prop her upright when she struggles to hold onto her "Push-up" pose. "Easy now... I don't want any trouble" you tell her, helping her sit up as she feebly pops her chest back into her bodysuit."Why're you helping me?" she asks you, her voice sounding like a MUCH more feminine version of yours with an easier-on-the ears accent. "Maybe I didn't get the memo on why I should fight you, I'dunno..." you reply as you squat down near her and eye her up, then ask "Speakin' o'which, I wouldn't mind if ya' filled me in before I decide to turn your lights off...""Katherine" takes a look at you and sighs, mumbling something about you being "One of THOSE types" before explaining "Well, what can I say? As far as I know, 94 were made and I've personally killed about 30, maybe 35 with my bare hands..."You feel a lump in your throat and a part of the scenery starts to twist and turn, warping your consciousness for a second before you shake it off and everything snaps back to "Normal", Katherine laying back down as she heaves a little, unzipping her suit again as she tries to get more freedom of movement in her chest..."You're different though. You don't have that... That edge the others did; I could feel that you were holding back the whole fight, that there's something inside of you that wanted to just..."You hold onto Katherine like she was your fallen lover and tell her "It's OK; I'm used to 'earin' bad news...", trying to comfort her in spite of your dark choice of words as you ask "D'you know how many are left?""... Two. You, and a girl that's just like you that lives a quiet life out in Oregon..." "Katherine" replies as she coughs up some blood."Got a name for me?" you ask, your curiousity piqued as a sense of dread rises up in your stomach and a tightness grips your heart, your body not really taking this well as your mind seems to be... "... She wouldn't tell her name, but she's Asian..." Katherine replies as you grab your cellphone and call up 911, calling for an ambulance and asking her "What street is this?"She replies not through words, but moves up to kiss you instead. Strangely, you don't try to stop her and lock lips with a sexier version of yourself as the world around you starts to twist and disort...

I also had to commute home; Appologies for the delay.>>30807337You ignore your hunger and go on a rather complicated route through the city, heading in and out of several abandoned residential districts and project housing blocks before you arrive at the last point on your route, making a left onto an expressway and riding it for a few minutes until a Black Sedan cuts out in front of you, recognising it from Seth's instructions as one that you should follow (The key being it's unique license plate).you follow it for a few more miles before you head off of the highway you were on and into an old industrial complex on the northern part of the city, struggling to keep the sedan in sight before it stops in front of a seemingly-abandoned brick building, "Probably a Wareouse" you think to yourself as you keep the bike idling before you kick up the stand and turn the engine off.You hop off the bike and wait for the doors on the unmarked black sedan to open, wondering if you had followed the right car or not as your stomach rumbles some more... Eventually, Seth gets out and greets you, asking "You can put your ride and gear inside; It's a storage house we use for our civillian cover-cars."You nod, then drop the stand and wheel the bike inside the garage-like front door, putting your helmet up on the saddle as you run a hand through your hair, then ask "Hey, when we get back to base d'you mind if I order some food? I'm STARVIN' right now...""No problem. Now let's get moving alright?" Seth asks and you oblige, following him out to the car as you hop into the back seat, the door already open for you.You buckle up and look at the guy up near the front seat with Seth, eying him suspiciously but relaxing as Seth explains "This is Agent Calloway; He's our surveilance expert that'll help you get bugged properly for tonight."
"Harshest" sorry... I also should't have used ";" where I did and restructured the sentence wholesale but whatever.>>30808471You nod at him, noting that he's an older man with sandy blonde hair and a handlebar mustache, looking a bit like the kind of guy you could envision on a ranch out in the middle of West Texas or back home in Austrailia as you feel as though you're getting pinned to your seat as Seth hustles this barge of a Sedan through the back alleys of South Town, thankful that your seat is an actual "Seat" rather than a "Bench-Seats" most sedans you've riden in have."We'll get you into wardrobe after the mission debrief, then go over a few checks and double-checks to make sure everything's in working order" Calloway tells you, your suspicions proving right as he has a slight drawl to his voice as you feel your stomach flip upside-down and back again, a queasy feeling starting to creep up into your thoat..."Er, could you slow down a bit mate? Yer' makin' me feel a bit sick n'all" you reply, your body jostling back-and-forth as you try to handle the G-Forces pressing against you.Seth complies and slows down a little, admiting "Sorry about that; I thought somebody was tailing us, but I think it was just a Fast & Furious looking for something to do.""Hell, how couldn't he be? Boy was drivin' a flippin' piece of rice that lit up like a strip joint underneath" Calloway replies to Seth as you start to breath slowly and deeply, doing everything in your power to concentrate on NOT throwing up in this car...Fortunately, the ride seems to stop before you know it as Seth tells you "You OK back there? You can open the door now to get some air..."You immediately unbuckle your seatbelt and getting out of the car, taking a few more deep breaths that come across as dry heaves more than anything as Agent Calloway ribs Seth a little, overhearing him say "Sure she's up to this? If that rung her bells who's to say field work'll be peachy?"
>>30808871You stand up and turn around, truthfully telling Seth and Calloway "Nah, I'll be alright; I just stayed out a little bit too late last night.""If you say so" Seth replies as Agent Calloway rolls his eyes, then mutters something about leaving you into Seth's hands before going off to what youo assume to be this building's tech-lab."... Sorry about Calloway; He's not too kind to 'Part-Timers" like yourself" Seth tells you as you walk with him through the parking lot and into the building itself."I understand; He doesn't know me or trust me... Prolly thinks I'll just wreck one of his gadgets trying to get the bloody thing to work"."He's like that about EVERYBODY when it comes to handling his equipment though; I swear, if he didn't know the codes backwards and forwards he would be pushing a desk job somewhere..." Seth admits as he leads you into a small room, Vanessa & Ramon inside waiting for the two of you."You feeling alright honey? You don't look so hot" Ramon muses, though Vanessa shakes her head as she grabs some measuring tape that tailors use, Seth gathering up some notes and declaring "Alright! Close up the doors and lock the windows, because this is how operation "Thor's Bride" is going down!"Ramon offers to lock the door and Vanessa closes the blinds in the windows the small office room has as you feel your nerves start to get to you, Seth asking you "Before I start this brief, do you have any questions?" >A. I really, really hope this goes better than our last encounter with a 'god of thunder'.Raiden had bullshit tier defense....ah, I should probably relax. It's probably just called that because of us, with our electric ki and all.Yep.Nothing to do with our horrendously amoral sociopathic egomaniacal puppeteer chessmaster of a date at all.Nope.Okay! >>30809676>Pic Related>>30809664>>30809717>>30809909"Uh, yeah... Where's the bathroom Sir?" you reply, trying to hide a belch that doesnn't sound to good as Seth nods, Ramon trying to hide a snicker at your seemingly fragile nerves."Down the hall, take to rights and a left" he replies as you nod, the quickly exit the office room, undoing Ramon's locks on the door and putting whatever's upsetting your stomach out of sight and mind as you race down the hall to the restrooms.Finding the ladies room quite easily, you spend the next ten minutes or so puking up whatever you had last night and cleaning yourself up afterwards, the nerves and tension still thick in the air for you as you wonder "Why'm I so bloody nervous? The fact that this guy's out to kill me, or that I'm actually going out with a guy?" You pause at that question, not really thinking of an answer that springs to mind as you try to calm yourself down, splashing water in your face to try and psyche yourself up for this as a mantra pops into your head: 'Think casual, act casual and It'll all fall into place."You look at yourself in the mirror, eyeing your face in particular and fighting every single urge to break the mirror with a punch, one of your bad habits from when you were younger still flaring up in times of stress every now and then... Still, you keep looking at yourself, the scar on your cheek, the shape and width of your jawline and how it frames your THICK neck muscles and ponder "Who'd ever want to date someone like me?", knowing fully well that you're getting worked up over the fact that this "Date" isn't really one at all...You think about the ideal partner you'd want, starting with girls first and feeling your nether rehions starting to tingle, then transitioning to men and really getting into "The Mood" as a genuine smile breaks out onto your face. You stare back yourself making that smile and think "THAT'S what I've got to do tonight"...
>>30810279Holding that thought, you walk out of the bathroom and head back o Seth's office, knocking on the door before you ask to head inside."That was quite a wait... You sure that you're feeling alright Outback?" Seth asks, not entirely accusative since he had a sinking suspicion that his driving earlier might've caused this to happen."I'm OK now, really... But some Chinese would be fantastic right now" you tell him as you close the door behind youand lock it, sitting own onto a chair in the center of the"OK, let's start the briefing then..." Seth"I actually had one more question Sir.""OK, shoot.""Why's the mission called "Thor's Bride"?" you ask, not wanting to step on anyone's toes over this and mindful of the gap between hos rank and your possible one."Well, if you must know we heard about your electricity powers and that was the best one we could come up with" Seth concedes."Besides that, we have a habit of naming certain missions after mythological figures for filinig purposes" Vanessa chips in, standing at attention as Seth clears his throat, you, Vanessa and Ramon looking at him as he prepares to speak."OK, let's ACTUALLY start this briefing on-time for a change..." Seth then begins the explanation: "Over the last year or so, our agency has been dutifully tracking the business dealings of one Jean-Claude Gabriel and his so-called "Paragon Group", specifically Arms Dealing and Private Protection services through Stonewater LLC & Greystone Ltd., respectfully. However, he has ALSO seemed to have dabbled in many of our agency's previous cases, dealing in some way or another with everyone from Ron, the traitor to the Hizouku Clan and his search for the so-called "Dragon Power" to the NESTS Syndicate; This is where we come in to try and get to the bottom of this."You bristle at the name "NESTS", but try to hide it as Seth asks "Any Questions before we begin to go through the mission itself?"
>>30810817Elaborate on NESTS itself.
>>30810817>Seth says, though you stop him with a raised hand.Fixed.===>A. Ask about this "Ro" fellow and what the Hizouku Clan is; You feel like Shen Woo or Kazunori Kazahaya would know of them (And no, it's not because both of those guys are Chinese)... >C. Ask him "Why's this Brief going by so fast?" and see what he says.>E. Say nothing and continue to the play-by-play of "Operation: Thor's Bride"; You want to know EXACTLY how it should play out, if only to give you a guideline to stick to in case shit gets WEIRD tonight.
>>30811031>>A. Ask him about what the agency knows about the NESTS; This might be your only shot to find out who they were/are and what they've done (Though you should keep the wole "I saw them IN A DREAM" shit to yourself unless asked)...here we go. Buckle up, gentlemen. This could get dicey.
>>30811029I'll count that as a Vote for Option A in >>30811031, mainly as I didn't get the voting field up before you could respond...
>>30811029>>30811107"What's this "NESTS" thingie you're talkin' about?" you ask, preparing yourself forSeth looks at you, then to Vanessa (who you catch nodding to him out of the corner of your right eye) and sighs, explaing "Well, the "Cliff-Notes" Version of that answer is that they were a world-wide syndicate with designs for world domination; They had a BIG influence of financial markets at the dawn of the Millenium and allegedly were the source of the infamous "Y2K Crash" on the New York Stock exchange when they collapsed due to internal politicking."You nod at that, slowly digesting the information "And the full version?""Classified" he replies, though Ramon"Come ON man! That shit's so old it's almost up for declassification, right? Besides, you'd have to be living under a rock not to know about some of the crazy shit they pulled off..."You watch Seth glare at him for a moment, though Vanessa backs him up by quickly adding "Considering that the Intel we have on The NESTS suggests that many of their finacial advisors and marketeers splintered off into what's now known as The Paragon Group, I think it would be for the best for our hire here to get at least SOME detailed background on what we're up against here..."Seth sighs, ceding "fiar points from both of you? I think they're putting something in the water dispencers..." before turning to you and asking "WHY do you really want to know about theses clowns?"You take a long pause at his question, trying not to go into the whole "I HAD A VISION!" kind of rant, but politely reply "Because it has to do with my father."Seth looks at you quizically, then asks "OK... What about him? What's up?""Well..." you close your eyes, trying to think back and retrace your steps on this as you explain "you said that this syndicate, The NESTS, have been gone since the year 2000?""Well, 2001 is when they ceased almost all of their opperations, but yeah... Why?" Seth replies, pressing you for a hard answer.
>Preparing yourself for the worst.Fixed.>>30811377You keep your eyes closed for a few more moments as you tell him "Because my father dissapeared just after my 16th Birthday, a day before the city we currently stand in got partially destrowed by an Orbiting Laser Canon", opening your eyes as you add "And I don't think it's a JUST a coincidence, either. He was an Athropologist who had been tasked to chart Human Evolution over the various tribes of West Indies, Australia & New Zealand and how they had stacked up to this chart that had been made for him in advance."Everyone in the room goes silent at your explanation, yet another sinking feeling filling you up with dread as Seth breaks the silence. "... Fair enough. But the info we're going to share doesn't leave this room, understood?"You nod at that, ready to face the past of what your father might've been tied into as you watch Seth take a seat on his desk, looking a bit like an older teacher trying to act "Hip' and "Cool" for a class of students as he begins to explain what his agency knows about The NESTS: "OK, well, as far as we can go, NESTS had been around for at least one full century, though they didn't really start to flex their muscle until the 1940's after WWII ended, just after the Geneva Convention had been establish.""From recent reports, we're heading towards a scenario where NESTS were actually trying to prepare the world for some kind of cataclysmic event from outerspace that they felt was going to happen and focused on advancing humanity through technological and scientific means" Seth adds, Vanessa grabbing a chair to sit down next to him."From what our sources say, the whole "Science Fiction" Boom of the 1950's and the eventual popularity of that genre as we know it today was all part of The NESTS propoganda to drum up support for it's plans" Vanessa explains, sounding scarcely believable to your ears, though you shrug it away all the same...
>>30811684"Now, sometime during the Vietnam War, NESTS turned violent and became the Syndicate that most of us and South Town can remember" Seth tells you. "Seems like they stopped focusing on trying to get people to like their cool new toys and tried to take over the world with them instead" Ramon chipps in, adding a little bit of insight."Did they try anything like genetic engineering or cloning?" you ask, trying to lead the discussion to the dream that you had two nights ago...Seth nods, sighing as he admits "Yeah.. They had thought that if they could gather up the strongest, most powerful humans on the face of the planet and splice their genetics into everyday people, Humanity would evolve enough to tackle whatever they thought was going to threaten the world.""The amount of atrocities they committed, no matter how much in good faith, CAN NOT be underestimated or ignored though" Vanessa adds, then explains "They started out with kidnapping people off the street and turning them into guinea pigs, using Kyo Kusanagi as their lynchpin until he fought his way out and escaped...""Then they started cloning that poor bstard" Ramon laments, comically adding "And it's bad enough to go a round with just him, you know? The dude's won more King of Fighter's than anybody in history FOR A REASON... But going up against a THOUSAND human flame-throwers, each of them looking like and acting like they're the same little shit that he was?""Talk about a real nightmare, huh?" you reply, a weariness to your voice as Seth picks up on it."It was a hell of a deal just trying to FIND all of the clones that they made, let alone hunt them down and pump them for information before The Ikari Warriors started killing them all off..." he elaborates, taking a breath before adding "Out of the 10,000 or so that our documents claim that NESTS made, there's probably still a good tenth of them alive somewhere, not counting the other things they ended up making of course..."
>>30811920You think back to what Lee Pai long had told you about the rash of Kyo Kusanagi-Wannabes burning themselves to death, but don't mention it as you ask "What other experiments? Real-live monsters, or more ridiculously powerful humans?""Pretty much" Vanessa says, then adds "From what I can call just off the top of my head, there's at least 3, maybe up to 5 NESTS relics fighting in this year's KOF alone."Your eyes widen at that as Seth concludes "Ultimately, NESTS fell short due to politicinking and in-fighting amongst all of the bits and pieces that made them so strong in the first place...""Well, that and something that backfired so badly it destroyed their home-away-from home into deep space or something, I'dunno... The whole thing's fucking crazy to me" Ramon says to no one really in particular, more comtent withh voicing his thoughts than trying to start up a conversation."Now, are we done playing History Teacher for you? Or do you have something ELSE on your mind?" Seth asks as he gets up off of his desk and gathers his notes once more...>A. Tell him "Yeah, I'm good. THnks Sir" before going through "Operation: Thor's Bride" step-by-step.>B. Ask about this "Ron" fellow and what the Hizouku Clan is; You get the feeling that Shen Woo or Kazunori Kazahaya know of them (And it's not because both of those guys are Chinese either)... >C. Now, Operation: Thor's Bride is basically going to go down like this: An undercover opperative""Me""Yeah you, will be assigned to infiltrate and gain the trust of Jean-Claude Gabriel. Normally, we'd have a more seasoned veteran on this, but most of our best opperatives have already tried to go after this guy and failed, though none of them have died yet..." You wonder why, not thinking of yourself as being attractive in any way, shape or form as Seth continues explaining "Nonetheless, it's imperrative that you get suited up in a specially-made dress fitted with cameras and external microphones to pick up on as much of your conversation as possible...""As far as what to talk about besides a few of our key intel bullet points, it's all up to you, but keep in mind that if you say something REALLY cringe-worthy our staff'll probably imortalize you for eternity" Vanessa matter-of-factly adds, thinking about that one video that went "Viral" around the office of Ramon suplexing some guy at the annual christmas party..."Right... Is that all Sir?" you ask, waiting for your food to arrive but trying not to exceed Seth's authority or something...
>>30812846"... Yes it is. So, do those always go that quickly, or is it just because I'm new?" you jest, trying to break the perceived "Ice" between you and the other two agents in the room.Vanessa smiles and says "Seems like it... I think he just really wanted to get his paperwork dout of the way before we got down to business tonight.""Yeah... You do something to him though, because I don't think I've ever seen him smile like that in a briefing" Ramon adds, his arms behind his back as he stretches it a little."He's married though isn't he?" You ask, noting the small indent of a ring on one of his bgloved hands."Yeah, but that doesn't me he dislikes you" Vanessa replies, then asks "Now, do you actually have any other questions? Because I'd like to do some training with my coach before I go back to my desk..."You take a few breaths, thinking of the first thing that comes to mind, but not immediately asking it out loud right away; Instead, you reply "Yeah... But it's kind of personal... "I think the biggest thing in the back of my mind is that "This is the guy who's hired people to kill me and make my friend's life a livin' hell... And I'm trying to act friendly around him? Seduce him even?" you point out, your honesy showing a bit as you hear a knock on the door, the smell of food on the other side of it reaching your nostrils and making your mouth water..."Sounds like you food's here" Vanessa says as she gets up out of her chair and opens the door, an agent in a three-piece suit and a shaved head handing her a small bag full of Take-Out from "The Rising Dragon" before giving her a quick salute and closing the door."I can understand how you feel though; I had to go through the same thing when I was just starting out in this too" Vanessa starts to elaborate a little before handing your food over to you. "You just got to think about it like you're acting, then get inside of your target's head and dote him on with what he wants you to be... Usually, most guys'll I've met will melt when you do that, which'll allow you to pump them for information.""That's ALL?" you sarcastically reply in between bites of your Sweet & Sour Pork. Because my guys in the SWF could use somebody like you..." he says as you turn around and look at him"Yeah, I heard that from friends of mine too..." you reply, pausing for a bit before asking "Hey, d'you know where I can get fitted into some clothes for tonight?""They probably already have your disguise in the tech-lab" he replies, the explains "It's not very far from here; You take the third right down this hallway, two lefts then follow the stairs down to the door marked "Danger: High Voltage.""Thanks mate" you quickly tell him before heading off and following his instructions to the letter, walking down the steps into a slightly darkened area compared to the rest of the building as the windowless door looms large in front of you...You spot a small button and press it, a disorted, muffled voice over the loudspeaker stating "Come in when the door opens Outback."You stand clear of the door as a hissing noise precedes a large, mechanical noise as the door opens and you quickly hop inside a treasure trove of high-tech gadgets that only emphasize the feeling that you're James Bond walking into his first day at work...
>>30818714"You ready to suit up?" Agent Calloway asks as you spot Vanessa and another woman fiddling with a dress that looks like it'll fit you..."I wouldn't be here if I wasn't" you tell him as you walk over to a small, marked spot on the smooth, speckled floor and stand on it, holding your arms out and standing as straight as you could, not quite "At-Ease", but close enough as an older woman with glasses and slightly graying hair start to measure your arms and legs, Vanessa eying you a little bit as Calloway heads back to fiddling with "I think she'll fit in one of my dresses" she tells your tailor before turning to face you, holding your arms out and asking "Well? Pretty impressive right?""It's like I'm in a cheesy spy movie..." you truthfully reply, quickly adding "I like it though.""Yeah, you get used to it after a while" she replies as the other lady brings out three dresses, one of them looking like a plain, Black gown with fairly thick shoulder straps and a modest cut to it, another being a Deep Green Cheogasm that you swear you wore when you worked at Lee Pai Long's shop that one time... Though your eye catches a bright red dress that's backless, with a fairly deep cut in the front of it."Thanks Audrey" Vanessa says to her older commerade as she holds the dresses out and places them on a chair near her. "She's just a secretary that's been here a long, long time... Mute, I think.""Huh..." you reply, looking at the dresses and wondering aloud "You sure that any of them will be able to be wired properly?""You kiddin' me? Shit, we've got cameras and microphones small enough to stick to African Wasps" Calloway replies, clearly prideful about his work as you look them and idly wonder which one to wear?"One thing though; If you pick that Red one we'll have to REALLY get in and wire it just right to make sure nothing shows or sticks out" Calloway adds, breaking your train of thought for a moment or two...
>>30819037>A. Go with the conservative Black Dress; The last thing you want to do is feel uncomfortable getting leered at tonight by Jean-Claude Gabriel (Or anyone else, for the matter).>B. Ask Vanessa for her opinion; You can't really decide between these three... >E. >>30819083B. Let's see what happens when Katja legitimately pulls off sexy.
>>30819426Imagine the dichotomy of a chiseled, rippling, scuffed-up woman in a racy red dress that she clearly would never be seen in otherwise. Talk about bold. This'd be on par with the swimsuit shoot, and she managed to get through that. Another test like this should really help blossom her sorely-stifled courage and confidence, especially with the tournament a little over a week away.If only there were an Australian wildflower to pin in her butch-cut hair.

Can we keep the dress afterward? At least we'd get to say "I wore this, and it was GREAT."

Except you think about the dream you had last night, how seductive "Katherine" was and how deep down, you truly DO want to be that comfortable with your body and "Free" enough to not mind wearing something that could get you arrested in the wtong neighborhood..."Fuck it", you think to yourself as you grab the Red Dress, then turn to Agent Calloway and ask him "What do we have to do to get this thing ready?"Vanessa's eyes widen at your choise as Calloway eyes it for a moment, then explains "We'll have to line the straps with a very special wire I've been working on and hide the microphone inside of a belt-buckle, I think...""Do you REALLY want to wear that though?" Vanessa asks, telling you that "To be truthful, I think a suit or the green one would look better and be easier for you to move around in..."You pause at her words of advice, mulling them over in your mind before shaking your head "No", standing firm to your decision as you explain: "On the surface, it seems like I've got a guy that's drawn to me like a moth to a flame for the first time in my whole life... Sure, it might be just an excuse to get close enough to try'n kill me or somethin', but I'dunno... I just feel like I WANT to see this guy's tongue to come out of his ears when he sees me tonight. Vanessa starts to say, though you cut her off by throwing her words back at her."You read my case-file right? This guy's indirectly put me through sheer bloody hell for the last three months solid... Besides, it'll help me slip into a role a little bit better, yeah? You just said yourself that I've just got to think about this like I'm acting, then get inside of his head and dote him on with what he wants me to be... Right?"Vanessa starts to see where you're going with this as she nods, aprovingingly telling you "That's right... And NOW you sound like an agent."You give her a cheeky grin as you reply "I've been thinkin' about all day today. I mean, like I told you, "I'm pretty sure I still like guys, but I definitely don't like Jean. In general, at that."Vanessa nods as she tells you "Alright Outback, we'll let Calloway prep this get-up for you and then head for a fitting room, OK?"You nod and follow her on the way out, asking her "Hey, you think we could fing a flower to pin my hair so that we could hide the microphone? I don't think a belt would go well with that dress...""Possibly, but it would have to a pretty big flower; No offense, but the state department sort of cut our funding, so we really can't use the kind of microphone recorders you're talking about..." She repies with a slight weariness to her voice as she leads you out of the tech-lab and up to an old, seemingly-abandoned room."Shall we?" she asks and you nod, a part of you wondering "Why can't I meet guys or girls like her?", then dropping that thought out of your mind as you calmly wait for Calloway to complete your intricate wire-tapping dress...

>>30833024"Sure... I'd prolly end up blowing out the fuse boxes and wirin' or somethin', yeah? Plus I bet that this stuff's not that easy to replace..." you reply as a sense of nervous elation starts to overwhelm your senses, an eerie "Calm before The Storm" effect going on in the back of your mind."Yeah and it's FUCKING expensive too..." Ramon replies, then says "We're just about 10 Minutes away from the drop point... Traffic's REALLY light tonight, so I'm just flyin' out to the Tower."You nod and close your eyes, slowly inhaling and exhaling to try and calm yourself down as you listen to the sounds of Ramon driving and cranking the radio up to some Spanish-Language station (Partly out of boredom on his part, but also to keep up the act of him being an actual cab driver). "Alright, it's showtime" vanessa tells you as you open your eyes to find that your destination as arrived, Ramon pulling up to the imposing front steps of "Gesse Tower", what looks to be Jean-Claude Gabriel up near the top of the steps fidgeting with his cellphone."Good luck and god's speed Outback" Vanessa tells you as you take one last DEEP breath, then get out of the cab and grab a purse that they had supplied for you (That happened to contain your wallet, cellphone and the keys to your 'bike) befoe walking up the steps, taking your time as you aren't exactly used to wearing heeled shoes (Even though these are modest and more of a "Platform" Heel than anything else)...Eventually, you make it to the top and Jean looks up from his phone, greeting you by saying "I was wondering where you were", then does a double-take as hiseyes widen at your appearance, holding a hand out in front of his face to try and keep his toungue from hanging out. "I had to take a cab over here because my motorcycle's in the shop... Besides, it wouldn't have been smart to wear something like this and ride all the way out here" you deftly reply, grinning on the inside at his reaction.
>>30833421Jean takes a few moments to compose himself and merely states "My god... You're looking absolutely RADIANT tonight.""Yeah... You told me that this place was like a four-star restraunt, right?" you rhetorically ask, doing a slow spin-turn around for him as you try to keep your balance in your shoes, then add "So I thought it would be better if I dressed the part rather than make a scene in Blue Jeans and a T-Shirt or something..." "It's a pleasant surprise forsure... Though when you have money like I do, you can date practically anyone you want and not have others judge your taste in clothes" Jean replies as you see that he's taken those words to heart; He's wearing a Blue suit with a Mustard undershirt and a Black tie along with Brown dress shoes... Nice, to be sure, but vaguely European in your eyes, his face partially framed by a pair of red -frame glasses."I didn't know you had a perscription" you ask him, recalling that"Yes... i usually wear contact lenses, but I couldn't find them tonight" he explains as you do a quick neck stretch. Jean picks up on that and asks "Would you like a tour of my offices to try and stretch a little before we leave? It woudn't take too long and youlook a bit... "Stiff" from that cab ride" he asks as alarm bells start to ring in your mind...>A. Finally, you reply "It's all up up to you really."Jean mulls your response over for a bit, then says "I'll just make a quick tour then... Maybe offer you one of my coats for tonight? You look a little cold..."You shrug, trying to hide your fear of what Jean might try to do to you and merely tell him "OK", then follow him inside to a very large, well-furnished recption area, a series of elevators off to the far right and a group of chairs near a tall stand highlighting the layout of the building. "Pretty Impressive..." you tell him, admiring the archetecture and it's suitably imposing, castle-like motif."Well, we're involved in a lot of things around the world, so most of our clients expect a certain... Tone to our building" Jean explains as he leads over to a certain elevator off to the left."What kind of stuff does The Paragon Group do though?""It would be easier to tell you what we DON'T do around here" Jean muses as he fiddles with the elevator a bit. "We've invested in or outright own a Major Bank, a Car Company, Several Oil AND Solar Energy firms, a Diamond Mine, Countless Tech Stocks & Real Esate agencies, Patek Phillipe Watches... Honestly, I have so much that I couldn't give it away if I tried."You note the slightly sad tone of his voice as you wordlessly followhim into the elevator and ask "How'd this company get so big?""A lot of time, mostly... Also had a lot of contracts to help clean and rebuild the city after that Laser Canon destroyed it" Jean replies as you ponder if he's set himself up in a "Too Big To Fail"-Kind of scenario; That toppling him might end up destroying the city's economy...
>>30839393You hold that thought as the elevator continues to climb into the sky and Jean asks "So... What do you do for a living?""I'm in between jobs, mostly... But it's hard for someone like me to look for honest work around this city" you truthfully reply, talking a mile-a-minute as you're a little nervous about talking to him right now..."Ah... That's something that's been a part of South Town for a LONG time" Jean replies, then adds "I hope it'll change soon" as the elevator stops, the doors opening to what you assume is the top floor or close enough to it..."And this is my own, personal floor... My office is the door down the hall, with a few private chambers on either side" Jean Explains as he steps out of the elevator and walks down the hall, compelling you to follow him (If only to keep up your "Act").The mood of this place creeps you out a little, though it mostly your imagination running wild at what kind of depravity might go on here on a given day... You hide it fairly well though as you stop with him at the entrance to his office, Jean opening the doors to reveal the largest room you've EVER seen in your life, sparsely deccorated though posessing an impeccably red carpet that seems to stretch on forever, broken only by a series of gold & blue rings in the center of the office."And this... Is where I spend my time in South Town" Jean says as you walk around for a little bit, admiring the desk big enough to sleep on and the massive oil painting hanging on the wall behind it.Jean seems to note of you admiring the painting and asks "Marvelous, isn't it?""Hmm?" "The painting on my wall... It's of an ancestor of mine who fought in the American Revolution..." Jean remarks, then explains "Honestly, I dispaprove of his later actions, though some historians believe that his attempt to rule the world and force Japan to open itself up to outsiders began the kind of special operations agencies nearly every developed country has worldwide..."
>>30840205I just noticed something, so I went and had a look at the SNK wiki.We know Jean is descended from Golba, correct? The portrait on the wall?Golba, amongst other things, is known to have founded a group of assassins, only one of which ever became notable to the storyline - pic related. Seem familiar?Take note of the androgynous facial features, general build, flexibility, and - is that a lightning bolt on the end of her weapon? Even the fighting style bears some resemblance, with a tendency towards short ranged attacks and full body charges. The character exhibits mental blocks in the form of memory loss following a traumatic incident. The death of her sister, to be specific, which normally wouldn't raise many flags; after all, memory loss is fairly common after trauma. But... then I think about the last dream Katja had, and the alarm bells start ringing.Yes, it's all fairly minor, but... I think I may've found the source of dear Jean's interest in our Katja. The whole sodding thing's genetic.Or, maybe I'm just imagining it. I've gone off on a few of these trails tonight.Thoughts?
>>30840205"Fuck me, my cover's blown" you immediately think to yourself as you try to take a few steady breaths, hoping against hope that "Are you OK?""Yeah, I'm fine... Just never been up this high in a buildin' before; Sorry..." you quickly tell him, adding "It's an impressive painting though; I think it stands up, even without the history behind it."Jean quickly replies "I thought so too, though I'm not one to hide my family's rather spotty past; I use it..." he pauses for a fairly long while, looking for JUST the right words, "I use it to inspire me, to push myself to ascend above and beyond it."You nod at that, thinking about your own troubled past a bit as Jean clears his throat. "Enough of that though; Would you care to take at look at my weapons collection for a second before we leave? It's a bit of a hobby of mine...">A. Tell him "Yes" and hope that he won't try to do anything questionable to you... Though you should be on guard just in case.>B. >>30840743>>30840906>>30844047Though everything in your mind's telling you to stay away from this so-called "Weapon collection", a part of you also seems to sense that he's almost sincere about it, or at least faking it well enough for you to belive that he is... However, you pause for just a moment too long and you hear Jean ask "Something wrong? Or is your your Vertigo acting up again?""Huh? Oh, nah... I was just looking at this bit of carpet here" you fib, then point to the rings in the center of the room."Oh... Well, i practice a rather old, very intricate fencing art that revolves around them; The rings are supposed to be symbolic of the natural space you're supposed to keep between yourself and the opponent... It's actually half of the part of the basis for modern fencing, actually.""Huh... But what's to stop somebody to advancing forward, like say in a lunge?""Well, Destreza teaches you that you should NEVER directly advance towards an opponent; Only to move from the side and "Try to beat the Straight Line with a Circle", so to speak..." he explains, adding "Though unlike Asian arts, it's more about mathematics than pure "Feel"..." "Hmm... Well, I remember that you were almost stading straight up with your sword pointing at that one bloke in the Pao Pao Cafe" you start to think out loud, though Jean cuts you off with a bitter reply."I HATED that I had to cast my sword aside and just pummel him that night... Though in truth, I thought he deserved it; He comes to me, says he wants to put on an exhibition of swordsmanship for the crowd, THEN gets crazy like that?"Jean pauses at that, seemingly to gauge your reaction... And you truthfully reply "Yeah, that IS really low of him... But c'mon, I want to see that collection you've got before we miss our rservations.""That's right... I nearly forgot about them" he admits, though he tells you "To be fair, they ARE a bit flexible; Like I said, there isn't much my money can't buy in this town."
>>30844700You nod, then follow him to a hidden door on the far right of his office, leading you into a treasure-trove of rare and rather brutal-looking weapons of all shapes, sizes and types: From a slender Katana to a lage Axe, woth several guns and swords, daggers and everything else in between... "Well, I know it's not as much as I'd like it to be but... What do you think?" Jean asks as you look around the room with a curious expression on your face, two weapons in the collection stand out in your mind in particular. The first one is a long staff with two different weapons on either end of it (A Sickle-like hook on one end a small blade shaped like a Lightning bolt, respectively) made out what looks to be silver, or some kind of otherworldly metal you don't recognize that almost glows to your eyes...You feel as though you're in a trance as you slowly walk over to it, spotting it in a padded case that's hung vertically on a wall off to your left and stare at it for a second, Jean following"It's beautiful, isn't it? Found in Austrailia about five years ago... No one knows what it' made out of, but I think it's a legitimate weapon; The blades are sharp at either end" He explains as you study it for a little longer, looking at the intricate markings on the polearm and swearing that you've seen this somewhere before..."It's... Unbelievable, really" you say, more to yourself than him as something deep within you resonates with this weapon, then ask 'What's it made out of?""... I honestly don't know either; The seller told me that it was unlike any other type of metal hrhad ever handled before, but couldn't tell meEXACTLY what it was" Jean replies, equally perplexed as you are. You crane your neck around and raise your arms up a bit, inadvertedly pushing your chest out a bit before you look over to the other end of the room and stare at the weapon under glass and velvet rope, spotlit as well though you wonder why...
>>30845181It's a sword that's almost as big as you are, but it looks a bit like a five-year old designed it compared to the polearm off to your right; Even from the distance you are away from it, the hilt looks to be overly-designed and made of gold, the Glaive-Edge design of the sword almost smooth-looking to your eyes as you slowlywalk towards it, pointing to it and asking Jean "What's up with that thing there?""Oh... Well, it's something that's been in my family for a long time" Jean replies, explaining "Hoestly, it's history's a bit long and boring for such a mediocre weapon... But I guess you could say that it's something that's more symbolic than anything else."You take a look at it for a little while onger, but drop the sunject and ask "Kay, I'm good for some food right about now...""Indeed..." Jean replies as he seems to be relieved of having to tell you about that sword as you follow him back through the hidden door and out into his office, making a quick couple of turns before walking down the hall to the elevator, Jean taking control and sending the two of you back down to ground floor without a word...You ponder if he's mad at you for bringing that weapon up or something, though he whispers to you and explains "Honestly, I shouldn't even have that weapon lying around; The fact that it even exist is a bit of a touch-and-go situation, mainly because some clan out in the middle of nowhere claim it's THEIR sword and that mine stole it from them at around the time of my amcestor from the painting...""Gotcha... Pretty wild that something like that could cause that kind of reaction" you reply, all that-unimpressed by it and idly wondering how stupid people were back in the old days and "When did the art of swordsmanship die out anyway?""Tell me about it... " Jean darkly replies as the elevator opens up back onto the ground floor and you follow him out, hearing him tell you "But that's all ancient history anyway... Shall we get going?"

Jean the stops and gets out a set of keys, though he asks "Step back a bit please", then sets off the alarm as the lights on the exterior go off and on for a few seconds. "Just the usual procedure to keep the alarms going off" he explains as he opens the doors, your eyes widening as the raise skyward like the wings of a seagull or something as you gingerly climb inside the rather plush interior and starp yourself in, though it takes Jean a bit to help you put on your five-point harness before you close the funky-looking door."You know, a friend of mine used to race these for sport and money" he quips as he starts the car up. "I never got into it like he did though; I always felt that I never really had the time... Plus, my eyesight's probably not good enough to make a serious go at it" he admits before putting the car into reverse, then accelarting at a rate of speed that's much higher than you anticipated...

However, Jean slows it done to a MUCH more "Pedestrian" speed as you start to wonder if he didn't do that on purpose to try and keep from asking him anything... "Sorry about that; I guess I got a little carried away, eh?"You shrug, then tell him "I've rode my 'Bike around town and hooned it sometimes", then ask him "But what's got you down in the dumps all of a sudden Mate?""Well... I'm just trying to put some of the pressure I have working out of my system" he replies, admiting " And to be honest, I'm not really interested in talking about my work all of the time; Nights like this are getting rarer and rarer to find for me..."Alarm bells and the whole "Coincidence?
