OPENING>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F468us4qCUEPreviously: A young rocket suffers through feverish nightmares of weighted guilt and a conscience twisted. The phantoms of the metal mission haunting her ever failure. Those that she could have saved, those that she had promised to protect, and those that had not desired war brought to their door.Awoken with a start, her panicked psyche urges her to attack the shadow of a friend, only for her evolution pains to erupt.Coming to her senses, she found her comrades, the brave and musclebound ranger, and her old friend promoted urging information from a senior trainee, the one with secrets and a strange accent. After an embarrassing moment with her strapping friend complimenting her, she's whisked away into a world of fashion magazines only to come out of it when she realizes that those things don't much suit her, being more for civilians after all.Bidding that girl-time its own farewell, she goes on to visit her friend in the hospital only to find that she's been twisted by her surgery in ways that the Young Rocket could not have imagined. How will she react to this most grave cutback on medical care?Stay tuned Rangers!Known characters>http://pastebin.com/k2xnqqvBMonster Index>http://pastebin.com/wxwgrCqbCharacter Sheet>http://pastebin.com/7CJx3gq1Twitter:>https://twitter.com/AoPHquestLore>http://pastebin.com/vy0a6Z9r

>>30378512We can be her moral compassShe'll end up developing a warped sense of ethics wherein everything that Cerulean approves of is absolutely correct no matter what. It'll be fun. Remember, Lilac, "What Would Cerulean Do?"
>>30378499Keep her on Ceru's leash until her implant side gets used to walking around without eating passersby or something.
Something tells me that not much is going to happen this thread. It's gonna be an anticlimactic end to a couple week's wait.
>>30378631"I keep trying to hug them but they keep running away!"
>>30378648I don't expect anything more than a usual non-mission session.
>>30378674Non-mission sessions are usually cool. I just don't see this thread encompassing more than staring at Lilac being unconscious, maybe talking to someone once, and complaining about how our arms hurt. Maybe a nightmare later.
>>30378648>>30378674We'll probably learn about our next mission.I wonder how that will work with lilac. She is new, so we cant take her to mission, teamwork is essential for missions and she needs training for that. But she is our responsibility now and we cant just leave her be.Probably Boss will somehow ensure that she will be safe and looked after till we return.
>>30378744>Probably Boss will somehow ensure that she will be safe and looked after till we return.Yeah. It's called sleep powder induced coma.
>>30378763She needs to be trained.

You're escorted from the secure recovery area by Professor Hemlock. On the elevator he's silent for some time after his last words about what would happen to Lilac. He could place Lilac under your care as a “handler”someone tasked with keeping some of the more dangerous rangers from going out of hand, helping them integrate into the program and overall reigning in their less than savory behaviors. You were kind of bothered by the whole thing honestly. Aside from the relocation the man hadn't really spared much more thought or given mind as to the fate of the nurses- people. Even now, he only seems to be silent in this chrome tube they call an elevator to spare your own feelings. Why is it like that?“If it's any consolation, others have been through the program before.”You don't say anything, just staring ahead listlessly as he goes on, breaking the uncomfortable silence of the elevator's hum.“It doesn't often take long for rangers in this circumstance to regain or form cognitive function of how they should be acting as soldiers. If Giovanni approves, she'll be in your care. That is, so long as you are willing to take up the responsibility.> "Yes sir...">"That's it? We just treat her like... a monster?"> Stay silent. You kind of look down, into your own blurry unrecognizable reflection in the chrome. “Yes sir...”Yet something still weighs upon your conscience.“The nurses...”“What about them?” Hemlock looks back down to you with his rather condescending glare.“Is Remedy okay? She helped me during my own surgery... I remember that she held onto me.””Remedy lost her arm during that incident. She's retired.”“Oh.” You resume your downcast stare as the elevator carries on.“Are there a lot of rangers that this happens to?” You grip the fur of your arm affectionately, recalling Lilac's sinister red eyes complimenting her own ambers.“We witness them now and again. It tends to be more prevalent with monsters that have a disposition for thoughtless carnage. Do you recall a time where you've had any such incidents? Since your surgery we've deduced that the Crytten family does have its own tendency to...” He trails off at that point, falling back into silence. The two of you return to the professor's office, though he deals with some aide's questions on the way back.“If it doesn't fit in their body, then break it apart, it'll catalyze the surrounding cells.”“A low M will require less invasive procedures as their healing and adapting factor is lowered.”“That's an interesting color, send me biopsy details by this evening.”At the office, you find yourself too held up by your anxieties to take a seat until told to. You sit in a plush chair, curling your tail around out of the way as you stare at some of the trinkets upon the desk.Hemlock gets on the phone, speaking to Giovanni about everything in a bunch of adult terms about Lilac. After a bit, the conversation shifts to you.“Ah, Cerulean. Giovanni wanted to know if you've made your decision about your evolution. Would you like to permanently become a water type?”

“Yes sir. They've served me well. I'm happy to keep them.”Hemlock nods,”She's keeping them Giovanni.”He spins around in his chair, facing away,”Well, she is Lorelei's child, likely she wants to follow in her mother's footsteps. Indeed, Surge would destroy her as she is now. The Ice attribute should be worthy against Erika and Pewter's Brock at the least. So, with Subject #8010, Lilac, you'll formally immerse her into the Rocket program by virtue of being 'uniquely skilled,' yes. All that's left then is...”Hemlock looks to you, and taps something on his desk.“You are being recorded for a vocal contract. Subject#8010, otherwise known as Lilac will be taken into your custody as a Handler. You will thus be responsible for any unlawful behavior she exhibits while under your supervision. You will be compensated with the equivalent of 20% of whatever she makes on future missions once she's acclimated for a period of 5 years.I am Professor Hemlock, of Research Bureau. You recite everything and state that you'll take care of Lilac. It's sufficient for Hemlock and he jots some things down while he's on the phone,”We'll let you all know when 8010, Lilac is stable enough for conditioning. We'll require biweekly psych-evals with Cerulean in attendance.”He hands you a piece of paper to sign and goes over a few other things.“She'll be outfitted with a Volt Collar, and you'll have a tether remote. If she distances herself from you, she'll receive a tingling sensation before an outright paralytic charge. You can also deliver as such by holding down the button of the device for two seconds. A tap will deliver a warning charge and a one second hold will deliver a more stunning shock. None of this will endanger her monstrous physiology will keep her life from being in danger from this treatment. It is to be used to keep her from hurting others, not as a toy.”“Yes Sir.” You nod to the professor as he finishes the paperwork up.”You're free to leave now. Return tomorrow for examination. Oh, and incidentally, this program exempts you from away missions that exclude your charge.”You leave the office, finding your way back to the lobby. You leave the bureau, at once considering what you'd do with the rest of your free day, what-with your growing pains. At the Tram-line you're surprised to require your electronic ID scanned and confirmed by the system.“You're approved to go to Veridian, Cerulean, Fuschia, and Pallet. Our recently reactivated security terminals will require you to confirm your ID before entering the platform. Forced entry will autonomously alert the Civic Guard.”You get on the Fuschia line when it arrives, figuring that it's been a while since you've seen Janine. She might have a good word for all of this, though you might not want to use Lilac's name. You look outside of the window as the city-scape of Pallet slips by at a breakneck pace. The people for this ride ignore you, keeping to themselves.Out of all the citizenry, you'd probably say that Fuschias are the most respectful of all rangers with a unique pride in their own. It's likely due to the fact that Fuschia's such a small quarter literally founded by the Koga clan as they've gone back quite a ways. Toxicology and ninjutsu weren't thought to be necessary aspects of the dome, yet it's proved worthy in reverse-engineering poisons. Turning them into anti-venom, medicine, and other useful drugs that gives Celadon a run for their money. Then again, Celadon is the shoppi- Eh?You're restricted from Celadon...“What the distortion...”

You start to think about what Lilac had said about Geruteena or whatever it was called when the tram's belt lights come on for the sudden stop. You head through the simplistic traditionally minded quiet grounds of Fuschia with the occasional silk and bug farms. You could go for some roasted cicadas... You remember the one time a few years ago that mom brought some to you. So good... Your mouth waters as you wipe away a sliver of cold drool with your furry arm.The Gym's grounds are wide and intricate as always. You bow to the guards, stating your purpose and get directed to the Dojo. They tell you to be mindful and quiet. As you near, you hear the sounds of training, and the lightest steps that these highly trained Rangers take. If it's louder than the pat of a rattata they are scolded by an instructor and then whipped by a bamboo rod.You patiently wait for the match to be called to a halt before sliding open the door whilst kneeling and stating who you are and requesting entry.“You may enter.” You hear Janine's voice state before you enter fully, looking up at what's going on inside.Haru and Talse are inside with Janine, all three of them blindfolded. You notice that Janine's sporting Zubat ears and her fingers have turned into deep scarlet claws, the rest of her hands and arms covered by bandages, her sleeveless Kunoichi uniform preserving her modesty while keeping her movements unhindered.Talse's ears flick to you, larger than you recall, his horn longer and prouder as well,” We're continuing, right?”“I could use a break...” Haru's retreated to a part of the room to get himself some much needed water, keeping his back to everyone while his bat ears move like a radar.Other students shift about idly, awaiting their turn. Similar augmented ears adorning their heads.> "What're you guys doing?"> "Hey Janine, do you have time to talk?"> "Can I join?"-Just don't use your guns.> I'm sorry if I interrupted... I just wanted to get back to training.
You change into a gi and don the blindfold, entering a world of darkness which is actually quite strange to you considering the fact that you can see quite well in low-light conditions.Janine explains that there are situations where you may lose your eyesight or be faced with absolute darkness. “This exercise is to prepare us for when that happens. We'll be using basic strikes for this without feints due to your level. We'll be doing full-force training due to our enhanced constitutions. ”“Wait, full hits Janine?!”“Yes, Koga training philosophy. Practice as though it's the real thing. Then treat the real thing as though it's practice.”You hear Janine step away, lightly on her feet, barely touching the floor.”This is also an exercise in how quiet you can be. Talse will face you first.”You take the stance that you'd learned from your practice with Fuschia over the years, as soon as you set your foot down, you hear a sudden shift and a fist drive home into your stomach, pressing firmly through the fat of your flesh and into your hardened rock-like abdominals, forcing you to slide back without being winded. You toes claw against the protective mats upon the floor, the noise of the tear a precursor to a second strike to your face and then a backfist blow to the side of your head causing you to reel as you fumble to defend yourself against the Talse.Your ears pick up a shuffle, and you move to block, but it's wrong. Your legs are swept, sending you sprawling into the mat instinctively upon all fours. You hear another move, and put yourself into a forward tumble, suddenly hearing silence from the other end.You get up, and realize that you've lost your orientation as your ears flick, trying to pick up something, anything. The squeak of the mat hits your ears. Behind? The Side? You turn to face as you throw a reflexive punch, yet you catch nothing and eat a hard knuckle to the chin, forcing you to clench your teeth as true darkness takes over.
===A short time later===Your eyes flicker open, taking in the paper-filtered light of the Fuschia aesthetic.“Ah, she's awake.”Dimly aware, you move your hand to your jaw, feeling just about how sore it is. That was a hard hit. You thought you trained your jaw better...Janine kneels beside you, having donned an elegant yukata woven with a story to tell.“Sorry about that Cerulean, my knuckles were harder than I thought.” Talse speaks from outside of the room, a shadow behind the screen.“We'll have to do this again sometime, you seemed a bit troubled by something...”> “Yeah, I'm evolving and well.. Meeting all these Zubat rangers has reminded me that we haven't talked to Peri in forever. It's kind of a bummer, because I like Peri.
>>30382362You like Peri's concept, you mean? We haven't really spoken to Peri at all, I think. I don't think she even has a personality yet? It's the Celadon Gym cadets all over again.
>>30382419>Celadon GymWho needs grass-types when you've got SANNA.Yeh, Sanna. Ooo yeah.Saaaaaannnnnaaaaaa.Sanna > Peri everehdai.san-Sanna-sama-senpei-san-chan.
>>30382516P-p-p-prof, you're not going crazy on us, are you?But no biggie. If you ever have plans to use Peri for anything, I'm sure you'd be able to bring it up well enough within the story.
>>30382362Er, whoops. Yeah, I like Peri's concept. Judging by the pastebin, there are a few other Rocket Rangers who we've never spoken to on-screen. It's unfortunate, but I think it's also necessary to keeping the plot moving. And we can always get to know her in the future. It doesn't help that I imagined Peri as looking like pic related.>>30382516I've had it with the Sanna bias in this quest! It's like Lightning Returns, but with Professor's tentacle-haired waifu. You take your tentacle wench and just get the fuck out!
>>30382583Whoops, responded to my own post. Meant to respond to:>>30382419

>>30382651Oh shit. Shit shit shit.Peri is like alt-color scheme Selene from BFQ.
we got Brock and Erika at a type advantage in Ceru's favorPsybeam should help with KogaGiovanni is still ground type right?Blaine is still around right?misty is a stalemateSabrina...we got some evil moves...still not so confident with that one.so any ideas on dealing with Surge? the only thing I can think of is the previously mentioned Seaking's Lightingrod ability (what is Prof's stance on hidden abilities?)and I'm pretty sure he's got a magnemite graft or two on him (steel fucks up ice).unless Bruise move tutors us a fighting move or dig or something (is that even a possibility?) I can't think of a way for Ceru to hang with Surge.
>>30382716Rock smashes Ice and Grass is still supereffective to water.Think about their skill levels as well anon. Assume that Koga is canonically right before Elite Four status with Giovanni being satisfied as Rocket Leader.
>>30382716Water types have access to a lot of the Mud moves, like Mud Sport (elec resists), and Mud Shot/Bomb.
>>30382716We could also try and collect some weapons? FINALLY a use for crafting.
>>30382783>Use the bident like a lightening rod
>>30382764That reminds me, how does the whole "water is weak to grass" thing work? Even if water is effective against grass, there is no reason grass would be very good against water.
>>30382868Absorption, I guess?
>>30382868Grass and plants soak up water?
>>30382716According to google, Ice is fairly nonconductive, so we could try and shut him down with that. As for Misty, I think Ice would work as well as it would let us neutralize her water attacks and she has no insulating fat like we do.But Giovanni... that Ground thing. Yeah, let's not make assumptions there. Brock is probably like Ultra-Bruise, and Erika is probably like Sanna, so we're probably in more trouble there than we think.Yeah... this is not gonna be easy. Unless some of them are setting us challenges or noncombat tests, we're in trouble.
You're silent for a moment, looking up and into her stern gaze.“Can we go somewhere that no one will listen in on?”Janine removes a small white bone from her brassiere that she promptly places in her mouth,“A moment.”Her ears flick shut firmly and she blows, sending a piercing screech that worms its way into your head, giving you a splitting headache. After fifteen seconds of agony, she puts it back.“What was that for?” You whine, your eyes just about spinning from the supersonic noise.“Anyone that would've been listening has left. Tell me of your friend, you're safe here Cerulean.”You bow your head, tugging at the cloth of your gi through your gloves.“I can't tell you everything, because it wouldn't be right, but...”You recount your tale of Lilac, not using her name, but telling her about the surgery, how she's changed, and how you're going to be- and feel responsible for her.Over the course, Janine eventually closes her human eyes, nodding now and then and asking questions where appropriate and where you might be willing to disclose.“That is a unique problem Cerulean,” She sighs and relaxes some. Janine, the heir to Koga fading into just Janine while the two of you are alone. You look down, avoiding her gaze,” Yeah, I know. I'm not sure exactly how I should feel about it.Mom's told me that taking life is hard, and we're supposed to protect people from monsters but...”“When your allies act as monsters and are forgiven, it's hard to know who to protect, right?”You just nod to Janine, sniffing a little bit, trying not to cry in front of her.

You feel her hand plant itself firmly against your shoulder as her human eyes open, staring into yours with her own purple eyes. “Indeed my friend, this is quite the burden that's been placed upon you. I would say that you must do what you can for the ones that are still alive as the dead only have voice in the spire. Here in Fuschia, we are taught at a young age that we are to defend the dome with our lives. If we must die to accomplish this, then so be it. Your friend sounds like she goes against this and yet she could also do so much potential good if she proves to be strong and you are able to guide her in what is right.Trust that you're doing the right thing Cerulean. If she won't lie to you, then you must be very important to her.” Janine gives you a reserved smile, and your chest heaves at her kind words. You feel emotion welling within your heart.> Throw your arms around Janine and thank her for listening.> Thank Janine politely and bow out.> “You're important to me too Janine.”> (Other)

>>30383186Ah, missed that one. That's not a bad choice.>>30383191I'd be down for Cryogonal. We'd probably get some kickass crystal spikes and end up looking like we have ice armor.>>30383254CHRIST NO. She's already a man-eating, ghost monster. If we give her stealth, she turns into a fucking slasher movie villain....but really, if she gets to the point where she's not an unstable psycho, then yeah, I think ninja skills would pay the bills for Lilac. We've already got some knowledge of them, so we could do ninja stuff together.
>>30383324Considering Cryogonals live in Poke-America, Delibird would be a better bet.
>>30383324She could be worse.
>>30383324Lapras also learns Sheer Cold, sing, confuse ray, and the water absorb ability.
>>30383324>If we give her stealthShe's already stealthy. She walks through walls and can turn invisible and ghost cloaking shit.

PLUS invisibility, phasing, and stealth. Like I said, if we can get her stable, let's get her some ninja training, because she'd be a beast at it. But let's wait until she's stopped eating people.
>>30383469>That picHuh. Didn't even notice.

Throwing your arms around Janine, you pull the Kunoichi into an impropmptu embrace, feeling her chest press against your own as you bring your fluffy face pressed against hers. At once Janine arches her back, and slides her face away from yours.“Ceru- Cerulean. Stop-”She begins to push you away, but you won't have that, and cling to her- full on hug!“Ceru- don't-” She pushes you more firmly now, shoving you away, yet you still overpower her.“Why? Why can't I-” Your face starts to feel numb, and in short time your vision begins to blur, the room slowly churning and spinning into a medley of colors.Your stomach drops and you feel kind of sick, your grasp weakening and Janine finally pushes you off before pulling out something from a under her yukata.“Sorry Cerulean, you forgot that I'm poisonous, didn't you.”Oh. You slowly nod, grinning like an idiot as your vision continues to worsen. Lots of pretty colors. The walls are starting to melt too. The color's coming right off and dancing like water over your head. You feel the sharp prick of something enter your neck, and in a few minutes your condition clears up.“I should've reminded you. I sweat poison, and I'm laced right now. My hands are the only thing that don't collect it.”She presents her crimson claws. Sharp and chitinous with odd little openings near the tips and at the palms. She presses a claw to the center and draws form a silken thread.“It's not Venonat, so it's okay. But you need to be wary.”“Sorry Janine...”> Take your leave, time to go home. That's enough for one day.> Ask her about Talse and Haru. (Ask what about them?)> (Other)

“So how are you doing with Talse and Haru? I didn't even know Haru still came to Fuschia to train.”Janine's mouth upturns into something of a frown as her eyes look off at nothing in particular,”I'm not really sure what to think of the two of them. They're both useless in their own ways and neither have really put forth a lot of effort to try to claim me. Also, despite their most valiant efforts I always put them down to the mat.”Janine crosses her arms with a troubled look,”I have no idea why Honorable Grandfather Koga would choose such weak men to be considered for the role of my husband.”“Are you serious? Talse knocked me out you know...”“Talse's been doing Blindfight training working on four years now and he wasn't holding back the way he should have. >>30384515We really don't all know that much about the two, aside from Haru being shy and openly infatuated with Janine while Talse is more straight forward and like Bruise (but without the joviality or goofiness).
“What about who they are? Anything there?”Janine stares at you for a moment, her purple eyes meeting yours with a squinted stare before turning away,”I don't see how that's really relevant. I'm judging them by how good they are. Talse tries too hard to be noticed while not respecting what he should be doing as a member of Fuschia while Haru, despite being part of the rockets never really seems to try hard enough. He looks at me a lot too, it's weird.”She sighs, and leans back, breaking her usual posture to look up at the ceiling. “So... Is there ANYONE you're interested in? Anything good about those two?”Janine seems to mull over the first question a bit. At first her face is placid with a thoughtful expression. Then it flushes with a little bit of rid, next a big grin that's hastily corrected into a calm little smile.“Wh-why... I guess it'd have to be that guy from our Veridian Forest test a couple years back.” She withdraws into something of a show. >>30385082Easy enough. Aside from telling them about what they're doing wrong, we can give them tips on what Janine expects of them. Going by her attraction to Bruise, she definitely thinks highly of professionalism.
>>30384998> Call Bruise. Right now.(Put her on the spot. Set something up)Ceru, relationship genius.

>>30385432I'm considering Bruise/Kitty.Goldie is too submissive and Ceru's too shy to try anything.Lilac freaks out everybody except Ceru, who's still getting used to her freaky shit. But Bruise is bold enough to try things to get attention, even with someone as dangerous as Kitty, whether it's for training or poon. So I like that pairing better, if only because it'd be a lot more humorous.

“Excuse me Janine, I should be getting back now.” You bow before your friend in her home, a and she reciprocates, coming out of her little uncharacteristic daydream. “Ah, right. I need to return to my training. A Kunoichi's work is never done after all.”You leave through the sliding screen and double back around some of the facilities as you're leaving, running into Haru first. He seems kind of distracted by something as he usually does. Daydreaming and what-not.After a brief interruption to his thoughts you tell him quite tactfully of how Janine just thinks of him as a slacker and how he'll need to put forth real effort to win her eye.“Ah, I kind of figured as much...” Haru seems to trail off, troubled by something he doesn't exactly seem interested in telling.>Roll 1d20 +4C +2 RDC 18

You aren't really too interested in pestering him any more about whatever he doesn't want to say and start to move on to find Talse when you hear Haru call you from behind.“Hey Ceru, Haru's back at the Dojo if you're looking for him.”You blink back at him, a bit dumbfounded that he'd give you the location of his apparent rival. When you get to Talse, he's in the middle of sparing with another Fuschia. After a brutal series of blows, the other nin is blown away, rising up with a groan as he flashes his surrender.Talse gives you a quick little bow in greeting.“Sorry again about before.”“Yeah, it's alright, look...”You relay the same thing to him and he listens intently, nodding through the fact that Janine doesn't like him showing off and would prefer he act more professionally.“Huh. I wouldn't have guessed it was like that. Thank you, I'll see what I can do about that...” He seems a bit disappointed, yet at the same time heartened by the fact that he's got a better grasp of what's running through Janine's head. After changing into your normal clothes, you leave Fuschia's Dojo. All's well in a day of work after all... >>30385842>>30385843the nightmare makes me lean towards the dead side.Ceru at least thinks she killed her
>>30385861Well. She didn't. Ni'abras just got angry at Ceru for attacking her. Probably didn't punish her as harshly as he said he would if he saw that his wife was fine after all.
>>30385863is he aware of the concept of death?
>>30385866Nightmares are nightmares.

>>30385892...What? No. Hell no.
>>30385892No need, seeing as how Sabrina is there.>>30385908>HE KILLED PEOPLE.It's interesting to note that this is the current issue Cerulean just finished discussing with Janine.
>>30385892Don't have to. They've got dozens and dozens of espers to counter the one lone esper.
>>30385883>>30385880we have no real concrete confirmation one or the other over psychic rape victim mom is dead or alive. (at least one to satisfy me. She'd need to turn up alive, the hybrid or the dad flat out says she's alive, or Prof himself says she's alive)the nightmare leads to believe at the very least, Ceru thinks she killed her.
>>30385912>>30385923>>30385928I trust him more than Alexis AND Sabrina. And anyone trained by Sabrina. Much more. It is pretty clear where we have him. He is predictable. And that makes him trustworthy, in his own way.
>>30385953We rolled to harm her, not kill her.
>>30385958You remember the last thing he did to the Hybrid right? He is not at all trustworthy.
>Devon rapeficGood work anon. I like it.
>>30385992>trusting the cold-blooded murderer child who killed despite being told not toAre you talking about the Hybrid or Devon?
>>30386007Disregard that post, I suck cocks and have no reading comprehension at this time of night.>>30386004Thanks.
>>30385986I just REALLY don't trust Sabrina and Alexis. I have this strong gut feeling they are up to something. Something bad. We should at least notify someone that we are going there. Like Bruise or Goldenrod or Giovanni or something. So if we disappear for a long time they will know where we went.
You rush on over to the Saffron Quarter, finding your way to the gym with gusto after replying that you were on your way.You meet with Alexis out in the front and she guides you inside, walking the eerily empty halls of the sinister gym and its metallic red inner walls.“What does Sabrina need me to do?”(The Hybrid has been locked away in a psi-kill chamber to hamper his abilities. We require a non-psionic for interrogation as he shuts off his mind when we try to remove him and force entry. He's bad at covering his hypnosis, but he's a highly trained Esper.)You swallow as Alexis teleports you through a series of chambers until you're standing before Sabrina and another adult with a note and paper ready. A pin of a Golden faerie reveals this person to be a member of Silph Co.“Good of you to come, Cerulean.” Sabrina's emotionless glare is betrayed by her stayed, condescending tone. “Right this way...”You begin to say what Alexis filled you in on until Sabrina cuts you off with an “I know.”“We require you to provoke the creature within however you can. It's mind is strong but it's naive and spiteful. Its disgusting parents have not yet been captured.” Her grim outlook breaks through at once before the mask reforms.“Pester it with questions and taunts in the psikill chamber. Make it know who you are.”You just nod to the woman but then you wonder...“Because it knows you hurt its mother and were an accomplice to the burning of the village.”You start to ask about the village...Her voice is impatient yet practiced.“We haven't been able to find everyone that's lived there. Most of all, not the yellow monster in your hound's report. Any other questions?” > (At all?)
>>30385975That's not really a lead pipe cinch for me, anon. Maybe she bled out, maybe the wound got infected, does Ni'aras have the means and know how to treat the wound? Did it just wound her?>The door opens, and you fall through, into the arms of a woman with flowing blonde hair.>She looks down to you, her eyes glassy and dead like Chuck's.>Ni'aras's wife.Ceru is convinced she killed her and until I get some evidence that satisfies me that says otherwise, that's the side I'm rolling with.>>30386050dude bro chill out. Alexis is still our friend and Sabrina is a professional. You're packing Devon level paranoia dude
>>30386085Not to her.
>>30386085Ask if it matters whether or not we make it angry. Would an outburst of any sort be enough to make an opening in the hybrid's guard?
>>30386085Nope. It's interrogatin time.
>>30386085LETS GET EVIL ON HIS ASS
>>30386085>[x]How will pestering him help, exactly?
>>30386085>>30386112This. Charm is Ceru's specialty, after all.And we might net 1 more point if we succeed....
Tell him his Daddy is a kidnapper and a rapist and Mommy never truly loved Daddy
>>30386112The problem is that they can't mind-break it unless it's out of the psi-kill.When it's out, it resorts to shutting off its mind, becoming unreadable. It's naive and kind of stupid though as you've seen from its actions. It's likely that it would let all sorts of things slip given provocation.
>>30386085Oh man.>>30386125This is a good idea. While making it angry is fine and all, having that extra +4 help on a roll would be good.
>>30386139>>30386125I assume Charm will apply to making it pissed as well because it's still a social action.
>>30386137Ah well, that's fine.Let's see if we can't provoke the little guy. I've already got a few choice words for him, like how it's his fault for killing that one accountant (unlike what his parents told him to do) that his home was even discovered. Guilt trip that guy.
>>30386085>I woke up with white stuff in my vagina after the visit to the village. What happened that Devon isn't telling me?
Why don't we just "snarl" at him?
Did Chuck have a family? if so, guilt trip him over taking away someone's Daddy
>>30386137What if we were to share our mother's message with him?
>>30386129This>>30386172This too>>30386167Also an option
>>30386176Sabrina would hear.
>>30386172And tell him how his own daddy just wanted to live peacefully. And he ruined that.
>>30386167Because Ceru doesn't use intimidation.>>30386172I like this. Rangers, moreso the Rockets, are more mature for their age. I'm pretty sure we can treat him like a child and guilt trip him over this.>>30386186This as well.
If this really was all about just making him lose his cool, Devon would have been the best choice for this."Your mother cried when she read my mind.. she said you weren't supposed to kill. WE FOUND YOUR VILLAGE, I BET SHE'S CRYING EVEN HARDER NOW, ASSUMING SHE'S STILL ALIVE!!"
Without any further questions you're set forth to enter the psi-kill chamber.Within there's a black velvet material lining the walls, and a strange absence of sound all around as something comes in through the speakers positioned at each corner of the room embed in the ceiling. To you, this room just makes you suffer what feels like a dull humming sensation in the back of your mind... But to the Hybrid that's beyond a a layered screen of glass and impromptu speaker? It must be a lot like that whistle Janine blew earlier, only you can't hear it.The hybrid... the kid sits there looking miserable and pale with his left shoulder patched up yet soaking its way slowly through the bandages along with puss as the burn tries, works to heal.He looks up at you, his face just about flawlessly human, more so than most rangers.Cerulean, the rocket comes into play. How do you start?> Tell him why he's he.> Tell him who you are.> Lie to him about how you tore out his mother's guts.> Tell him that you didn't mean to hurt his mom.> (Other)
>>30386237But you cant teleport him around or delete unnecessary info from his brain when he leaves.
>>30386266> Tell him that you didn't mean to hurt his mom.Start off with this. We should build up the image that we're nice and innocent first before we try to guilt trip him over how he RUINED EVERYTHING for his parents.
>>30386266>> Tell him who you are. We'll open with this, then go on to 2 and 4 and write-ins depending on how this plays out.
>>30386266>[x] Tell him why he's he.
>>30386085So I just realized somethingAll the Fairy ranger work for Silph Co. don't they?
>>30386266> Tell him that you didn't mean to hurt his mom.And then>> (Other)Tell him that this is all his fault. That none of this would have even happened if he wasn't such an idiot. It's his fault that Devon killed all those people in the village. It's his fault that we shanked his mom. It's his fault that he's never going to see them again and they hate him for it.
>>30386266> Tell him who you are.REMEMBER ME?
>>30386266>>30386280Makes sense.> Tell him that you didn't mean to hurt his mom.
>>30386280>>30386301indeed, nothing hurts more than the truth.
>>30386291>implying Kanto City classifies monsters under the Fairy typeFairy types would be considered normal and/or psychic types pre-gen 6.>>30386298We want to guilt trip him, but we want to do it over the fact that he killed someone, not focusing on how he's an idiot for killing someone.Treat him like a child or a puppy who needs to be taught what he's doing wrong.
>>30386280>>30386298Yep. Starting off all friendly and then pinning it all on him and just keeping on relentlessly about how it's YOUR FAULT AND YOUR PARENTS HATE YOU FOR IT seems like the best option.I can't wait to get a pudding cup and watch the emotional breakdown unfold.
>>30386266>>30386298> Tell him that you didn't mean to hurt his mom.Let's be more subtle about it, though. Don't DIRECTLY tell him it's his fault. That just might make irascible. We gotta work up his trust first, then we need to>imply implicationsAnd make him think that he's at fault. Make him bawl his eyes out of guilt. Make him confess of his own free will to try and absolve himself of that guilt.
>>30386266This sounds good to me.>>30386324
>>30386266> Tell him who you are.
I guess we're going with ceru: pin the blame on this other kid
>>30386266> Tell him that you didn't mean to hurt his mom.>>30386336Of course.
>>30386324Why don't we tell explain to him what kind of situation we were in before we pulled that.
>>30386336Seems kinda OOC but okay
>>30386319I dunno. His dad was big on the whole "the mind is the only thing that matters" so attacking his intelligence may as well be attacking his entire self-worth and could make convincing him that his parents hate him far easier.
>>30386266> Tell him that you didn't mean to hurt his mom.You know, I'm pretty sure we didn't mean it, but this approach matches pretty well with the crytten's description as a monster that looks cute and innocent; until that's no longer useful to it.We'll make Giovanni proud, damnit.
>>30386319>We want to guilt trip him, but we want to do it over the fact that he killed someone, not focusing on how he's an idiot for killing someone.Eh. At this point, it'd be harder to make him feel bad for killing some people than it would be to make him feel bad for having killed those people in the first place and causing this entire situation where he's imprisoned and his family's home is gone.
>>30386360Alright, alright. I rescind my previous vote and I'll go with> Tell him that you didn't mean to hurt his mom.
>>30386319No, we just need to make him pissed off and agitated. It doesn't matter how. It doesn't matter that he feels remorse. The second he lets his guard down and starts tard raging, they're going to kill the psi-dampener and Sabrina is going to mindfuck him.
>>30386345Was about to say something about that. Here's your inspiration.>Mother's told you that not all monsters are bad.>Sabrina thinks Hybrid and modified humans are scum.>Boss wants you to do your best regardless of ethics.>Your friend's been forgiven for killing extremely nice and patient nurses.>Janine's told you to do what you think is right.>You know the kid is scared and still bears a festering burn wound that's NOT going to heal normally.
>>30386368>tard ragingThis makes me laugh for some reason. On an unrelated nose, the hybrid has got a pretty big sniffer, right?
>>30386373call Devon's cell, put him on speaker
>>30386373Welp. It's fairly obvious at this point that you're gunning to have Ceru take on responsibility for this fucker too.
>>30386373Yeah come on guys.Let's do our best while still being ourselves, do you really wanna suck up to Sabrina?
>>30386373>You know the kid is scared and still bears a festering burn wound that's NOT going to heal normally. There's an ointment to take care of that kind of stuff, right? If the interrogation proceeds as well as we hope it to, we could promise to try and do something about that burn wound....My god. What is it with Ceru and making childish psychic boys dependent on her...
>>30386373So we're being pulled in all directions? On the other hand it seems plenty IC to me for Ceru to want to blame someone else for this overwhelming guilt. I mean, she's a kid n' all.
>>30386392He killed Chuck!
>>30386392Fuck Sabrina. This is all about the Boss points.
>>30386377Human face. Might have a very sensitive nose for all we know.
>>30386390Just saying that there's some degree of sympathy. How far Ceru would take it is defining of her character.
>>30386396Technically we just let Devon be Devon.
>>30386402But we JUST heard the message from Mom.
>>30386396I blame Ni'aras
>>30386395I would imagine it would require surgery to get rid of the chemical preventing the wound from naturally healing.
>>30386373Easy enough. This kid is in a highly unstable situation. He's killed a couple of guys and he almost caused a horrible accident in the dome. He's our enemy, but we pity him. Any mercy we show him is fine, but it'll have to be within the bounds of our duty. And definitely AFTER following our duty. How's that for rationalizing the manipulation of a little kid's emotional state?
>>30386373I care about Lilac.I don't care about the Hybrid.
>>30386420Prof actually mentioned that there is an ointment to treat it? But I don't know how easy it is to attain, or how much it'd cost.
>>30386402The Boss didn't give us any orders on the matter, so there are no rocket points.Instead, there are "fuck you Racist Medusa" points, which is even more important.
>>30386423You =/= Ceru
>>30386373>>Your friend's been forgiven for killing extremely nice and patient nurses. That was because of implant and Ghost Sword.Ceru knows that hybrid is just a shit. His dad was a pacifist. His mom was a human. She knows that his murderous impulses are not anything but him.
>>30386436but he is still part monster, just like the rangers
>>30386421We don't actually have to do that. That's just what Sabrina told us to do.But Giovanni did not.We just talk to him, without manipulation as a goal.
>>30386429This isn't about Sabrina, it's about breaking the rogue esper. And fuck espers.
>>30386423It rather depends on whether or not we'll choose to favor mom or Giovanni in the future, I think.Giovanni would want us to attain results. Mom would want us to be as merciful as we can. In a situation like this, we can do both. We'll likely be faced with a scenario in the future where we have to choose one over the other.
>>30386436If it was all Blue's work, then there wouldn't be a problem.
>>30386441You're missing the point. His dad was full monster and less murderous than him. That proves to Ceru that they hybrid's killings were not the result of monster biology or whatever. He;s just a bad person.
>>30386451We'd choose Mom.
I've never seen a G rated interrogation before
>>30386421>>30386436Those are my view on this thing too.>>30386451Mother told Ceru to not go out of her way to kill monsters. The hybrid was mind controlling civilians INSIDE THE DOME
>>30386447Then why are you letting the bitchiest Esper of all have her way?
>>30386457True, but ceru may draw correlations between the him and rangers.
>>30386467Because we have no choice?
>>30386465whose killing the little shit? we're just rattling his cage so Sabrina can his tight little boy mind with her psychic dragon dildo
>>30386457>He;s just a bad person.Rather, he doesn't have a conscience like us. I'd wager that he's got a rather tribalistic mindset. Unlike how collectivist everyone in the dome should be, the hybrid and everyone else in the village were probably raised to care only about their own group of people. While his father and mother may advocate peace, it's mostly to keep themselves safe than any altruistic intentions (probably).
>>30386467Because.....we're a professional? Because it's our duty to learn what we can from the hybrid?
So consensus seems to be to fuck him over.
>>30386457>>30386436It really does not appear that that was the QM's intention, considering what he's been saying.
>>30386494Is there a table where we can do that?
>>30386487So "fuck you mom" is what you're saying?>>30386494I think we're just apologizing for hurting his mom first. Then we'll see where that gets us.
>>30386505silly anon, that is what the ground is for
>>30386457>>30386481More like undisciplined like his mother was remember his mother's first thought's were to kill us.
>>30386511>So "fuck you mom" is what you're saying?Mom said that monsters that just want to live in peace and not cause trouble should be allowed to do so.Ni'aras was a kidnapper. The hybrid is a murderer. They were not acting in self defense, they cam into the dome seeking to steal people and supplies. They were not the peaceful live and let live monsters that mom was talking about.
>>30386521Can we at least ask why he killed the first guy, and to make Chuck kill himself initially? For all we know, Ni'Aras mislead his wife and told the Hybrid that dead men tell no tales.
>>30386436>Ceru knows that hybrid is just a shit. His dad was a pacifist. His mom was a human. She knows that his murderous impulses are not anything but him.If you were Cerulean in the middle of monster territory would you:>A: Avoid and/or kill as many monsters as possible that may threaten your life or the dome's.>B: Try to make friends with the monsters of which you're rather certain at least 99% want you deadThe Hybrids POV?In any case, I'm tallying the previous and writing the first step of the interrogation.Honestly I'm less interested in the hybrid as a party member. I still want you guys to learn what he knows which is part of this scene.
>>30386538Ni'aras was, though. He kidnapped children to set up his village. And while that's pretty horrible, he didn't seem to have any intention of continuing that. Just steal supplies.
>>30386494I mean, if you want me to write that...
>>30386543most of the people here would choose B probablythe novelty of roleplaying Barney in the Gestapo is starting to wear thin for me
>>30386266>> Tell him that you didn't mean to hurt his mom.FINALLY caught up. I was scared I wouldn't make it to post this.Dunno if people still care about this, though.-Froslass head, because there's no way in hell I can draw a face and it's a possible option anyway-Crytten eyes, ears, nose, and claws(just photoshop some anime cateyes in)-Hardened cartillage spikes-Evolved remoraid giganto-arms-Crytten tail shedding fur and turning into shell. >>30386564I'd rather not destroy the character so you can get your jollies of being a nazi.
>>30386574we're already a nazi.
>>30386553Maybe Alexis practicing for Goldie on him. With Sabrina coming in and showing her how it's done.
>>30386543That is not an apt comparison and you know it.
>>30386582The Rocket Cadet's are Giovanni's Hitler Youth.
Quick question.Do you guys want to ask its name?
>>30386588It's probably how the kid saw it. He panicked, he's a kid.
>>30386588It kind of is, considering how people like Devon and Sabrina would gladly destroy him.
>>30386601Oh sure. But at an opportune moment.
>>30386601Yeah.May as well
>>30386601Yes.Also I'd like to ask why Ni'Aras didn't go in his stead, or at least supervise.I mean we know Hypno is humanoid enough to escape notice.
>>30386564Actually most people here would choose A>>30386588Unfortunately it's more accurate than you'd like>>30386601Yes
>>30386601Yeah sure.>What's in a name? that which we call a rose>By any other name would smell as sweet;
>>30386637"Here you go sweetie! I picked you a dozen red turdblossoms!"
>>30386595if the Hitler Youth were special forces
>>30386661And if Hitler was as grand and noble as Giovanni is.
>>30386651Yeah, roses doesn't even smell that good.
>>30386668He's a better dresser and I bet he better at painting too. No way the boss couldn't get into art school
You sit down at the little chair in front of the barrier as the hybrid slowly comes to acknowledge you, his face twisting slightly in a mix of anger and fear. You tuck your feet and arms into your form, sitting up straight and proper as you stare right back ahead at the hybrid from the other side of the looking glass.“Do you know who I am?”The creature glares at you balefully for some moments, refusing to speak until you begin to repeat the question.“You're... The one that hurt mama.” He sneers at you, his face haggard from his state of pain, aging him at least ten years. You shake your head slowly, treating this all very delicately. You're very well treading on broken glass. No redos here.“I didn't mean to hurt your mama, I was just trying to get away from your papa. He's been tricking your mama for a long time.” Things you faintly remember from before the hypnosis, it seems that he didn't bother to erase your mind. Ni'aras. The Hybrid shudders, some degree of monstrous rage welling within his body,”No! You hurt mama! She loves papa, you don't know anything you stupid eevee!”You're taken aback a little bit, blinking at that comment.“Well, I'm not an eevee...”“Shut up! Yes you are. Stupid E-eevee!”>You might need to push him harder on the subject or change it.> “Your mother was controlled by Ni'aras.”> “Did your mother really love Ni'aras?”> “Why did you kill those people?”>-You realize that it made us go to your home.>--You lead us right to your village.> Where did you come from?> (Other)

>>30386702"what was your mother's name?""she said sorry to me, sorry that you killed someone."

>>30386702"How am I an Eevee? Is it because you see me as domesticated?"
>>30386702I don't think we should go down the path that'd lead him to questioning his dad's actions, at least not yet, however interesting the reactions would be.Play it safe for now and make him question his own actions.> “Why did you kill those people?”>-You realize that it made us go to your home.>--You lead us right to your village.
>>30386755Very much. We can't turn him against his parents at this juncture. What we have to do is make him question his OWN actions.
>>30386702> “Your mother was controlled by Ni'aras. She still is.”> "If you ever really loved her, you'd tell us where Ni'aras took her. But you won't. Because you never really loved her. If you loved your parents, you'd have never killed those people and made us go to the village. They didn't want you to be a murderer, so why did you kill those people?"> "Chuck was someone's father. But you made him hang himself. Your mom came from here before Ni'aras kidnapped her. Did you know that?"
>>30386702"My name is Cerulean. What's yours?"
>>30386702> “Why did you kill those people?”And I assume the points under it are automaticly assumed?

>>30386841Would been better if you'd made one for Lilac
Time to change the subject,”Why did you kill those people?”The hybrid's lip quivers and he looks away, breaking eye contact,”I don't know.”You repeat the question for the same answer. Something about his face though, he seems a bit upset by it since you've brought it up.Something troubling him.“You know that if you hadn't killed anyone... Hadn't murdered any people, you wouldn't be sitting here here right now. We wouldn't have gone to your village. You wouldn't have lead us to them.” You speak calmly and clearly so that the words hit home. The Hybrid slouches,”To keep our place safe.”He doesn't seem to be particularly mournful of the fact. Something that you too would hate. It's the same situation where you wouldn't be about to negotiate your way out of the mess.“It.. all went wrong, didn't it?” He begins with sniffles before blubbering out. This is going to take some effort...>End ThreadOverhuman Friday evening 20:00 Server Time.
>>30386862http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/30378453/Thread archived, Prof. Nice session. Especially after we had a week long break. Also, currently slogging my way through Overhuman's archives. Pretty good. Hopefully I can catch up and properly participate.
>>30386862did we do it? is his mind vulnerable?
>>30386862great, now we have to interrogate this guy.
>>30386862Good thread. Now for another week of suffering.Have you read the smut yet? Thoughts on it?
>>30386862break the kid. no mercy
>>30386879 The goal is traditional extraction as forced extraction results in shutdown.>>30386870Thank you and thank you. I had to warm up to start with though.I can answer questions for either quest right now if you'd like. I just can't focus well enough on writing this late.>Image will be Overhuman's new OP. Still working on the color, I'm pretty amateur at this shit.>I did not draw this.
>>30386903I have, it's great. And Devon actually does wear a jacket. Made no mention of its fireproofing though.
>>30386914Ok. So for Overlimit I wanted to know if a transmutation type thing would be possible to add to the unlearned spells category. It should be possible. The Handler from the first Overhuman spliced animals together and edited DNA, so transmuting some items should be possible for Asher. It would branch off the Materia Firma, the justification / flavor text could be something like "Through greater study into the alteration of the properties of objects, you have discovered how to alter matter in ways that does not require constant magical input to sustain." or something.
>>30386914Nah, nah, it's fine to take a break. You've gonna run Overhuman tomorrow, right? Best to get a good night's sleep then. And I would prefer it if, when giving facts and trivia about either quest, that you kept them on their specific threads. Makes it easier to sift through for information.
>>30386914Did you draw this, Prof? I remember you stating that you were interested in drawfagging a bit for your quests. If so, it looks pretty nice.
>>30386929Also, I was wondering what the limits are on the kinds of legendary items are craftable with Marteria Firma. Like, could we make a Philosopher's Stone with Master/Divine rank? Getting immortality seems like something someone like Asher would try to do.And lastly, is it possible for Veins to do some kind of pseudo-lichdom type thing? It seems like something they might be able to pull off.
>>30386914So Professor...We're interrogating someone. Surely that means we'll get a point of charm for this...I really want to know what the hell 20 of a stat does.
does anybody else see Ceru wearing the Rocket Grunt cap even when she's off duty?
>>30386928I feel noticed by senpai.
>>30386969Gruntcap is fukin stylish
>>30386914>>30386930I agree with this anon. It's alright for you to give us a heads-up on the schedule of either quest in the other thread (as long as you post it on twitter later on), but you should refrain from discussing the lore and mechanics outside of the quest's personal thread itself.
>>30386928Hey, Professor. How're you doing?I know it's a weird question, but considering what you told us what happened recently, and the fact that 3 of the QMs of my other fav quests are suffering the curse and/or having troubles, I just wanted to check in, try and be friendly. So, yeah. How're you?
>>30386969of course she wears the gruntcap
>>30386929Yes. that's possible. It'll require LIMIT points to learn such a thing of course.I'd actually had something like that in mind.If you were to change lead into Gold, that's a change that's consistent with the natural laws of the world.>>30386948Materia firma leads into and can end up becoming more general or more specific enchantsRight now it'll only affect water magic. After leveling it'll become applicablt o some other realms of magic you know.A cantrip(Combination of spells that has overall reduced drain) will be necessary to make/summon enchanted items of that sort. Summoning/Enchanting is pretty much what it takes.Yes, Veins can achieve something like that as they grow in power. They're the ones that follow "different" rules.>>30386966I did not draw it. I'm just coloring it. I'm kind of okay at drawing. Going through some tutorials since I used to be alright.>>30386980>>30386930Alright, just this once then as it's already begun. I'll repost these answers in Overhuman.>>30386997I'm alright, kind of pissed about the dad thing though. Realized that he never would've come out here if it hadn't been for the child-support dues. He tried to act like a father and THEN ask if we could make it go away. You don't fill me with sugar and then expect me to wave away something that you'd decided and lived with for 20~ years.I was going to just let it be done too, but then he told me like 3-4 different damn stories. Doooon't lie about this shit. I don't respect that.So yeah, fuck dead-beat magician dads and I'm alright.
>>30387012>magicianI assume this has nothing to do with why Asher, a veritable "magic man", is a jerk in Overhuman. But seriously, that sucks.I've got, uh....a tangentially related problem myself.... At least you're well-adjusted enough to get over it, though, by the sounds of it.
>>30387012family ain't blood
>>30387019Nah, nothing to do with that. All player vote and this is something in like the last 2 weeks.Though the concept and fundamental behind magician tricks gives me some ideas.I spent most of my life being a dude with no dad. I can keep on going like that.>>30387039Fuck. When I saw that I cried like crazy. Already tearing up here. You guys are alright though, often you are. Gonna hit the sack, catch those of you that visit OverLimit tomorrow.(My tomorrow)
>>30387039Shouldn't it be>Blood ain't family?
>>30387012>SpoilersMm. Yeah, I actually know that feel, though I never had the chance to really talk with my dead beat of a dad. He was leaning more towards the asshole type, and abuse type, so I was more thankful not to have him around, he was a scumbag. I've had the old 'lie to my face' type stuff too, along with the buttered up technique. It's an odd sort of sour feeling, or at least it was for me.Still. I'm glad to hear you're not too bad, all things considered. What little I know about you, you seem like a cool guy.
>>30386862So are we gonna keep being a jerk to this guy or what?Because I'm pretty sure we'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar. And it'll bring pride to the Rockets that we didn't need any fancy psychic powers to get information, if that's the only value judgment you guys have.
>>30387012>Yes. that's possible. It'll require LIMIT points to learn such a thing of course.Of course, but it can still get added to the unlearned section with Aerokinesis and Photokinesis, yeah?>I'd actually had something like that in mind.Neato!>If you were to change lead into Gold, that's a change that's consistent with the natural laws of the world.Things like that is exactly what I had in mind.>A cantrip(Combination of spells that has overall reduced drain) will be necessary to make/summon enchanted items of that sort. >Summoning/Enchanting is pretty much what it takes.I'm guessing that we'd need to summon something up that is almost a PS and then Materia Firma it until it's a true PS? I guess thoughtform might work. Maybe. I dunno. Fuck. I'll just have to think on it when we actually get summoning and MF high enough.>Yes, Veins can achieve something like that as they grow in power. They're the ones that follow "different" rules.Ok. Cool. And with that, I think I'm done with ranting about BONES OP PLS NERF from now on.
>>30387052Night Professor. Glad to hear you're doing alright.
>>30387064We'll see how things develop.
>>30387064lets play this one by ear>>30387061eh, they both work. the gist is understood regardless
>>30387067To go the same course of the Magna Opus, I'll need Asher to learn and get acquainted with the four cardinal elements before Alchemy is available. That's some powerful shit. One of my earlier ideas had Asher binding a thoughtform based off of Leviathan into Alchemy, creating an entity that literally caused chemical and magical reactions simply by locomotion. Living Alchemy. When everyone's OP no one is.
>>30387112As someone who has yet to join in on the quest, can I ask for a brief summary of what Asher is capable of and what the players want him to learn next?
>>30387112>One of my earlier ideas had Asher binding a thoughtform based off of Leviathan into Alchemy, creating an entity that literally caused chemical and magical reactions simply by locomotion. >Living Alchemy.>>When everyone's OP no one is.
>>30387112>To go the same course of the Magna Opus, I'll need Asher to learn and get acquainted with the four cardinal elements before Alchemy is available. That's some powerful shit.Trying to make sure I got everything straight. That is referring to the making of PS and other really high-end stuff and not more basic elemental transmutations?
>>30387125Asher is currently capable of sensing the location of and manipulating water and only water. He can initiate state change to shift it into Ice and Steam along with casting superficial images into the surface of the water-bodies.Aside from that he's also capable of summoning creatures from mythos along with thoughtforms and either giving them a simple action to perform or binding them through a negotiated contract. His abilities coming around next thread are going to be improved summoning and the ability to enchant water to become solid without a state change.Wall of solid steam, orb of hardened water. The idea behind it is that it it allows him to begin the bending of physical properties.Next I think the players might be going for water or aerokinesis.>>30387167Fire>Water>Wind>Earth=AlchemyAlchemy= basic transmutations and eventual PS.You need to learn the basics and the mythical theory behind alchemy is the manipulation of the cardinals.Oddly enough, an Over might start with Alchemy while needing to learn the cardinals in reverse if they want to use them effectively.Alchemy could = Create steam from water! But it would lack the water manipulation to control it after that.In this case, you need the magics to learn the Alchemy. The question is- are you going to strive for alchemy while forgoing the more advanced states of 1-2 elements?>Water becoming akin to life and death and no longer requiring the physical components.>Fire equating to destruction incarnate and even purification and rebirth>Earth equating to metals within aging and wisdom...The way I've set it up, you could focus on one thing and still be about as effective if you focused in several and combined them in new ways.
>>30387212I kinda wanted to take on an Oath of Blindness to boost up hydrokinesis, and just use small summons and the water sense to see our surroundings. But the other players don't really like that so it's whatevs
>>30387212Ok. Well, we still need Air, Earth, and Fire to unlock Alchemy.Air is currently in the unlearned list.Fire is unlocked through more steam. (or should it be in unlearned already?)And I assume Earth would unlock from getting more ranks in Ice? It seems right.l Learning to manipulate solids and all that.
>>30387212Don't forget the Oath of Defense or whatever name you decided on for Ice.
>>30387212Well, here's an idea. How hard would it be to make raindrops as hard as bullets? Because I can see Asher creating a literal shower of bullets from manipulating rainclouds and having them drop their payloads on enemies from up above. I'm not sure of how fast they'd be going, but they'd be able to easily reach terminal velocity before landing on anything or anyone, right? And if the water droplets could be manipulated to be as hard as bullets, that would really cut down on the drag forces. Maybe even shame them into more streamlined shapes to make them fall down even faster. Bullet showers. Could be useful. I don't know.>captcha: pledge moeovedeCaptcha is saying that Asher should take an Oath of Moe, Prof. You know what to do.
>>30387212So what exactly is the difference between alchemy based around the cardinal elements and alchemy that is based around the principles of Materia Firma? I'm just having a bit of trouble wrapping my head around how alchemy branches off of elemental control rather than the ability that's based around altering the properties of matter.I mean, if you just want to say that it's game balance and magic I don't gotta 'splain shit, then that's cool. But it's a tad confusing.
>>30387212>>30387310OR HELL. Alchemical rain than transforms everything it falls on into liquid. Or solid. Or gas. OR MAYBE RANDOMIZE IT ALL SO THAT EACH DROP DOES SOMETHING DIFFERENT.Pure chaos.
>>30387310I don't think that would actually be useful. Lots of overs develop ways to defend against bullets and bullet-like projectiles because they're so damn common. This is canon. The bullet clouds would also take a ton of energy to do because we'd be doing constant magic input to maintain the MF on the cloud after you whip up the storm with weather manipulation. So it would be a massive energy drain that would be relatively easy to defend against. You'd be better off just transmuting the whole cloud into deadly acid.
>>30387351As I've said, I know nothing about the quest aside from it being MAGIC and from what Prof has said here.
>>30387361Well, if you decide to join be sure to read the archives and hit up the question time discussions and stuff. And this whole conversation is way higher power level than it's at right now anyway. This is like hyopthetical thread 100 shit. Right now Asher is nearly knocking himself out every time he does a spell that doesn't suck ass. The only useful thing he has in comparison to everyone else is that he can keep himself dry in spite of the quest thus far taking place in a flooded shithole and where everyone else at his level is wet and miserable. His ice banshee summon thing is pretty deadly, but he can't sustain it for even a minute before he almost passes out.
