Previous thread:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/29726362/In the distant future, man has spread out unto the stars. Planets get get colonized and mined for their resources. Powerful corporations compete with one another for economical dominance and glasses are still in fashion.Last time, you have claimed a small asteroid, with as of yet unclear worth. Beginning to take steps towards a self sufficient colony, you have built various facilities, but now, new problems confront you.The water filtration system is drawing almost all energy from your few solar panels, you could deactivate it, but then your water supplies would run out fast.Furthermore, the strange box dropped of by MinCorp, perhaps by accident, is still unopened.A signal from your communication array wakes you from your thoughts. The construction of the solar panel goes near perfect, even Herbert breaks hardly anything.Furthermore, a great pinkish slug-like lifeform is emerging from the crate. Martha calls over the comm for advice, she seems scared for her life. What should she do? Archibald is heading up as you speak, but with crane installed the way up is a slow process. 1d100 for Martha's reaction please.

Although Martha has no equipment to capture the thing at the moment, she miraculously manages push the beast down and wrestles it to the ground. You hear her screaming over the comm "This is not an optimal solution!"In the meantime Archibald has climbed up the roof and observes the situation with a mixture of amusement and horror. What should their next action be? Alright, this way of decision clearly is not working, so we'll go with >>30143677, having the narrow majority. We'll revert to the previous way of decision making with the next update.Archibald rushes forward, but to no avail. The slugs attack has already done its toll on Herbert, who falls to the ground. The thing itself immediately starts burrowing into the ground, most likely scared by the charging mercenary.Your contact at MinCorp is confused about your complaints - Apperently, no live cargo was scheduled to be dropped off at your location. It must be a misunderstanding, for which you most graciously will not be fined. The identity of the slug is as of this time unsure. On a different note he tells you that the 'Walrus' will come a day or two late, as there have been reports of space pirates in your area. With this disastrous business dealt with for now, it is time to turn to other activities. After a few days of hard work, Sally has installed a small turret atop the shuttle. With this, would the slug show itself on the surface again, you could make short work of it. After some observation, the encased in rock crystal turns out to be easily mined, the rock surrounding it being very porous. Unfortunatly, the crystal yield here appears to be quite low, though there are clues it is burrowed deeper beneath the ice. The main problem with mining either crystal or ice, according to Lev, is the lack of transportation to the surface. Also, you won't be able to mine both at the same time, for you have only one mining drill available. You also place another lamp in the mine, for more illumination. Also, you check out the crate once more, and it seems to keep releasing small amounts of toxic gas.Furthermore, the Walrus will be at your location in one day.Day: 61>Resources: 0>Crew: 5 (1 Engineer, 1 Mineralogist, 1 Expedition leader, 1 Mercenary, 1 Botanist)>Rations: 14 (max pop: 5)

Boris the Vries, captain of the Red Walrus, hails your settlement. The Red Walrus sends down its cargo, granting you 20 resources and 16 food to spend during the next 30 days. >>30145385Why exactly is it so hard to move the crystals up the mine shaft? The gravity on our little asteroid can't be more than 1/10 that of earth. The miners should be able to literally throw the crystals up to the surface if they wanted.
Rolled 89>>30145385Spend resources on a freight elevator.have Miner and miner bot mine deeper for crystals.
>>30145401Yep, let's go for this. Then we'll trade the crystal for lods of emone.
>>30145385send miners to take out the ice and free up yhe precious crystal, if we can process the ice for water or trade it with someone else good too. leave Archibald down there and Rute defendind the baseSally can build extra power sources
>>30145421It's a lot higher than you'd expect for some reason, as was explained in the first thread
>>30145411Damn, OP. Really liking this art.Looks like it could be a really fun DF-esque game.
>>30145458How many units can we mine of that little deposit we found?
>>30145474I know, right? OP's pixel skills kick ass.
>>30145474It really is amazing. I would love a game that even tried to replicate this shit.
>>30145525I'm not going to promise anything, but I'll be damned if I'm not gonna try.
>>30145525I know a game of similar style. Cortex command. Look it up and weep at the requirements to play it.
>>30145411Do we get a crystal counter on the "HUD"?
Rolled 37>>30145576Cortex Command is amazing, I just use crab bombs all the time and eventually the entire map is covered in gore and crabs.
>>30145576I've played it. But it just doesn't have quite the feel this does. If Cortex Command was more DFesque then maybe. To be fair nothing I've played so far can really compare with a well run Quest. Other than other roleplaying games.
>>30145585next time, yeah
>>30145621I do feel the same. I play a lot of 4X games to scratch the itch but they don't help much and rpgs feel like a waste of time because of plot railroads.
The entertainment room, which, under your careful guidance, has become a bit more of a lounge. (-1 resource) Furthermore, Sally starts working on the elevator in the mineshaft. (-2 resources)So far, you have mined 1 unit of crystal, but without more research it is impossible to tell how much is left in this vein.Day: 66>Resources: 17>Crew: 7 (1 Engineer, 2 Mineralogists, 1 Expedition leader, 2 Mercenaries, 1 Botanist)>Rations 25 (Max pop: 6)So, this was the last update for today, look to our twitter if you want to know when the next thread will be. https://twitter.com/MinCorpPixel
>>30145591>Tfw one of the devs is a friend of mine. >Tfw you've gotten to see the shitshow of a dev process for over 4 years>Tfw Data will never finish this game
>>30145656Cool, this is a really nice quest OP, I had tons of fun.
>>30145656This was fun as hell. Looking forward to the next time.
>>30145656Awesome thread OP. Have a good night.
>>30145641Yeah, at least sometimes they manage to make the railroading believable. Invisible or not the walls really kill immersion.>>30145656Okay, Ostrich. That was damn good. Definitely worth missing a nights sleep over. And your pixel art is AMAZING. Hopefully I'll be able to catch your future threads.
>>30145656Someone wanna archive this shit? I have problems with 4chan right now
>>30145707I'll archive it, no problem.
>>30145697Follow my twitter, dude, I'll keep you posted. Also, if you think thats amazing, wait for the other project I'm working on. I'm saying "I", but I have helpers for the written parts, so kudos to them.
>>30145733HA! A step ahead of you man. By about 4 hours. Or whenever you posted the link to your twitter. Anyway. I shall definitely be keeping an eye out
>>30145733Yeah I followed you as soon as I saw the twitter link. My twitter was literally made so that I could follow quests and nothing else.
>>30145656oh, last thing: that image is too small. bigger one here
don't forget to archive
>>30145786>My twitter was literally made so that I could follow quests and nothing elseHaha, same here
Btw Mathrian turn on your damn steam. I can't chat with ya otherwise.
