Fires from both knocked out vehicles and collateral damage raged endlessly, forming pockets of light in the growing darkness as the the sun set. You were having trouble believing that ANYTHING could survive what you were seeing."Jesus, it's like the Kitty Hawk all over again..." Red mutters."Worse, probably." You say grimly. (cont)
>>30090263"Rescue Ranger Five, it's good to see you." You hear Rescue Ranger One's familiar voice, though it sounds much more tired and ragged than normal, no doubt from continuous flights. "Look, I'm just going to be blunt here. The whole line is a mess. We've got distress beacons and SAR calls coming in from everywhere, and we've to way too many units MIA. Our job is to pick up as many of the pieces as we can.""What about enemy resistance?" You ask."The Russians are falling back all across the line, and we basically have local air superiority, so there shouldn't be to much to worry about. However, there's still the chance you might run into stragglers, so keep an eye peeled.""Got it, RR1. Where do you need us?""I'm sending some locations we haven't gotten to yet on your tacnet.">FRONT LINE: Where the fighting has been the heaviest. >>30090276"Bullseye, head north." You say. "We'll check out the flank.""Roger that." You hear him say as the Pave Hawk banks to the left.Up ahead, you can see the dim outline of the castle on top of a large hill. You check your tactical map again, and see that the strongpoint was code named "Round Top". You suppose they decided to hold the hill since it had a commanding view of the surrounding terrain. Groundpounders just seemed to love hills."Hey, Captain, I'm picking some readings on the IR. HUGE readings." Bullseye speaks up again. "Looks like fires. Fresh ones."You then see aircraft running lights in the distance, headed west. No doubt NATO CAS birds mopping up leftover Russian forces. >>30090627"Doesn't concern us, Bullseye, maintain heading." You grunt. While you felt a little conflicted not checking it out, you still priorities to handle, just like triage. As you near the castle, you pull down your nightvision goggles. Unfortunately, the castle remains dark, and you really can't pick anything out."Bullseye, how do thermals look?" "There's fires and shit all over the place. I got movement in the castle though, but that stone is blocking any solid readings I might get. ""Anything on the radio?""Nothing."Well, things were getting a bit nerve wracking. You currently had all your running lights off so as not to draw any attention to yourself. >>30091225>>30091256>>30091269The way i read the post is that those aircraft were NATO craft, moving to mop-up some left over Russian Armor. We would've followed along and rescued any stranded troops the armor was/could be harrassing
>>30091288Then those soldiers should not be in too much danger.Compared to the strongpoint here which has been out of contact for quite some time, any wounded still surviving would be at much greater risk of death, requiring more urgent aid.The fact that survivors here are also more likely to be witches means that they are more valuable and more effort should be directed at rescuing any survivors here first.

>>30090990"Tarin, Janice, can you two scout the castle? We need to confirm if there are friendlies in there.""Roger that." Tarin says. "Moving in.""I'll keep an eye up top." Janice adds.Through your nightvision, you see Tarin wink out of sight while Janice hovers above the castle proper. "I see movement." Janice says."Yeah, I can see them, too." Bullseye confirms. "We got movement on the roof.""And I have contacts in the courtyard, too." Tarin adds in."Janice, challenge them." You say."Roger that, Captain." You then see Janice dip down lower. A lot riskier, but it would help make sure her voice was heard. "Texas!" She yells the NATO challenge phrase. You can't hear the response over Janice's radio, but the fact that she's not shooting means that's probably a good sign. Suddenly, lights all over the castle begin winking on. A few flood lights, but mainly flashlights. A couple of flares are also fired into the air for good measure."They're signalling to land in the courtyard." Janice says."Huh, that's pretty tight." You narrow your eyes. "Are you sure you can fit in there?" "Captain, I can fit my bird anywhere." Bullseye boasts."I bet that's what Nungesser says too." You hear Snips chuckle before you hear a loud WHUMP and squeal of pain.(cont)
>>30091510"All right, I'm touching down."Bullseye then switches on the Pave Hawk's running lights and heads straight for the castle. You see waving glowsticks signalling where to land. Naturally, the fit was pretty tight since you doubted the medieval lords that built this castle ever imagined having to accommodate Pave Hawks. However, Bullseye manages to touch down safely. As you and Red disembark, you're met by a man in American combat gear, though the darkness prevents you from picking out any other distinguishing features."Well thank God, I was thinking for a moment there that we lost the battle!" You hear the man chuckle as the Pave Hawk's engines power down. "Good to see some friendly faces.""Captain Pierce, Pararescue." You say simply. "And you are...?""Ah, how rude of me! Colonel Chamberlain, Army Rangers." "Sir." You salute."Don't worry about the rank. Protocol is the last thing we need to worry about here." Chamberlain sighs. "I suppose you're here to figure out what's happened to us?""That's right." You nod. "Good to see you're still alive.""For now." Chamberlain motions for you to follow him to the main keep. "Tarin, Janice, maintain position over the castle. Red, you're with me. Everyone else, stick with the Pave Hawk. See if anybody needs first aid." Your say before following Chamberlain.(cont)
>>30091529"You couldn't have gotten here at better time." Chamberlain says. "We've been fighting off Russian assaults all day, and we're seriously short on ammo. Our comms center took a direct hit early in the fight, and sending a runner out in this situation is damn near suicide, which is why we haven't been able to get any word out.""Well, the battle's over. You shouldn't have to worry about more attacks." You say."You'd think that, but the Russians, at least the ones we're facing here, are pretty stubborn bunch. We're still getting the occasional probing attack or raid on our perimeter. Might just be barely a squad, might be a whole damn company out there. We don't know.""What assets do you have?" You ask."I have about two companies of combat capable men. Mostly my own and from a few scattered units that managed to make their way here. Got an Abrams platoon, too, but everybody's low on ammo. About a mag per man and a handful of shells for each Abrams. If the Russians attack in force again, we'll be in a load of trouble.""I see." You frown."Well, considering you're the one with the bird, you can help us out here." Chamberlain leads you to a map laid out on an ancient wooden table. "Follow me."Chamberlain leads you to a stone spiral staircase, which leads down under the castle. You have no doubt there are quite a few sublevels built into the hill itself. When he leads you to the dungeons, you're surprised as just how large the chamber is. You sort of wonder for what possible reason the witches of olden times would need such a large dungeon for, and then decide not knowing is for the best. What's even more surprising though, is the number of prisoners packed in the dungeons. There were easily at least 100-200 Russians sitting glumly in the cells."Jesus, Colonel, how the hell did you pick up so many prisoners?""Heh, funny story actually. Earlier in the day, during the Russians' last major push on the Round Top, they were literally banging at the walls. >>30092713>Thanks Red.It's just as well we didn'y go after the Russians first, or we would have blundered into Raikov and her super tank, gather intel first then you can figure out what to avoid in your outing.
>>30092713"Thanks, Red." You grin, patting your crimson haired subordinate on the head. "Hopefully it won't come to that.""Time's running short." Chamberliain coughs. "We'd better get going."Once you get back up to ground level and out into the courtyard, you can see the place is now quite active. You see your aircrew passing out some spare first aid supplies and some of their extra mags for their emergency weapons. To the side, you see Tarin hovering above the ground in her strikers. One of the Rangers seems to be trying to chat her up, with limited success."RAMIREZ!" Chamberlain barks. "Are you done relaying that recon intel?""Yes sir!" Ramirez snaps to attention and salutes."Good! If you've got time to flirt, then you've got time to put an extra set of eyes on the line! Move it, soldier!"Ramirez beats a hasty retreat."He give you problems, Tarin?" You asks."Not really." Tarin shrugs. "He likes to talk a lot, though."With that, you and Red board the Pave Hawk and it slowly lifts off back into the air."So Bullseye, what's the ETA on support?" You ask."Well, NATO forces are still a mess, and they're still trying to regroup. They're sending some Littlebirds our way, ETA fifteen minutes, with a relief column that will hopefully get here within the hour.""Littlebirds?" You frown. While they were decent air support platforms, they were really more suited as scouts, and in a situation like this you would've preferred something bigger like an A-10 or Apache. Hell, even a Cobra would do."Gotta make do with what we got." Bullseye shrugs. "They'll try to route additional air support if needed.""Alright, fine, let's get this over with." You sigh."Sir, if I may have a suggestion." Janice speaks up. "Perhaps me and Tarin should do the scouting while you concentrate on SAR? That's why we're here, after all.">Sounds good. >>30093098"Splitting up is too risky. We'll stay together." You say. "Roger that." You look at your map. According to the map Chamberlain's scouts provided to you, most of the obvious approaches to Round Top were heavily mined. You're pretty sure the Spetsnaz didn't have the equipment needed to clear those, which narrowed down your search area considerably. Bullseye keeps a close eye out on thermals while you and the rest of the aircrew use your nightvision goggles. "Sir, I found something." Tarin announces."What?" You ask."Popping an IR flare."You then see a bright white light appear up ahead of you. Looking down, you can see the IR flare illuminating what appears to be the still smoldering wreckage of a fighter plane. However, you don't immediately recognize it. However, it suddenly clicks."Vampire." You mutter."What?" Red turns to face you."Anderson briefed us on this before, Red. Some sort of Russian superplane, like the Wyvern." You explain. "Tarin, do you see anything else?"Canopy's gone. The pilot must have ejected. Can't get any closer due to my strikers." Tarin says. You bite your lip. On the one hand, you were on a mission. >>30093437>it might be a trap, laid down by Spetznaz to try and bait substantial NATO forces into the area.Yeah, but it's still a genuine Vampire airframe down there. And I want that CAS here right the damn hell now.""Got it." Bullseye nods."Come on, Red." You say as you rope down from the Pave Hawk."Right behind you, Cap." She says. The moment you and Red are down on the ground, the Pave Hawk immediately pulls away, lest it make itself a target. However, you can still hear it orbiting the area, so you know you've got eyes on the area."Cover me, Red. I'm checking the wreck." You say."Got it."You hustle up to the crashed Vampire. Looking it over, you can tell it's fairly intact. One of the wings is completely sheared off and the engines are completely torn apart by cannon fire and shrapnel. However, the basic frame seems to be intact, more or less. You then look into the cockpit and see that the ejection seat is definitely missing. You look at the console and frown when you see the place where the flight recorder should be is empty. Somebody beat you here. It's then that you notice odd stains on the Vampire's hull and the ground around it. Filtered through your nightvision, it's hard to tell exactly what it is, but you've got enough experience to know yourself.Blood, and quite a lot of it. Your best guess is that the pilot punched out, was either already injured or got injured during the landing, came back to recover the flight recorder, and bolted. But, judging from the blood, he couldn't have gotten far. You manage to trace the blood trail into the trees. You frown. Going into the trees was risky, since it would limit your air support's ability to cover you. But, you couldn't just leave a downed pilot out there to die, even if he was the enemy. You're going to have to keep a real close eye out for ambushes. Got that?""Yes sir!""Come one." You motion for Red to follow you as you enter the trees. It's deathly quiet, but thankfully, you don't encounter any hostiles. Repeated check ins with your air support confirm no major heat signatures. "We're picking up a reading about twenty meters ahead of you." Bullseye warns. "Looks like one or two contacts.""Thanks." You motion for Red to approach more cautiously. The both of you creep up to a small clearing, where you see two figures sitting around a makeshift campfire. One of the men is wearing a Russian flightsuit and is leaning against a rock, his abdomen stained with blood. The other, however, is quite obviously American. Both men are just sitting around the campfire, casually chatting and sharing a cigarette. "Hey!" You yell while still safely in the cover the trees. "Pararescue! Identify yourselves!""Whoa, hey, Captain Hiller, 3rd Marine Air Wing!" The American pilot stand up and raises his hands."Viktor Raksova, Russian Air Forces." The Russian pilot grunts. "I suppose you are here to rescue us.""You owe me five bucks." Hiller grins. "My guys found us first.""I suppose a bet's a bet." Viktor grumbles. Slightly banged up, but still intact and usable."My people's superior engineering has proven to be my undoing this night." Viktor sighs sadly."Okay, Red, see to Viktor's wound here. Stabilize him, but don't heal him up fully. I don't want him running off the first chance he gets.""Got it." Red nods."Anyways, good job, Hiller." You nod. "How'd you get here, anyways?""I was tangling with this bastard. We both expended our missiles so we went into a head on gun run. Shot each others' engines out." Hiller shrugs."It was a fine battle!" Viktor laughs weakly."Okay, let's get you guys out of here-""Captain!" You hear Bullseye yell over the radio. "I've got a contact about three hundred meters to your east and moving fast! >>30094687>>No. You're more valuable in the air than on the ground. No, no, no. We need all the air support we can get, especially since the Littlebirds they promised are taking their sweet time.

>>30094687>No. You're more valuable in the air than on the ground.if anyone should go back it's US! we are not leaving her alone
If Tarin does not go in on foot, we need to get Janice in the air covering us as we go in, we need more than just Red in there

They're engaging those contacts right now!""Goddamn-"At that moment, you see a person striding out of the trees. Squinting, you see that it's Red and... she's definitely seen better days. Her combat armor is literally torn and shredded to pieces, and she's pretty bloodied too. You're guessing the only reason she's still standing is that she had to use her own healing magic on herself. Also, she's not alone.Behind her, you can see Red dragging Raikov's body, though you can't tell if the Russian witch is alive or dead."Hah... see.... told you I could do it." Red coughs before falling over."Damnit!" You sprint over to Red. "Bullseye, land the Pave Hawk right now! I need help here!""Heh, should've seen it, Cap, it was a pretty badass fight." Red chuckles weakly. "Had my own finishing move and everything.""Shut up, Red, don't talk." You scowl, working to disinfect and bandage Red's wounds."Better save those for her." Red groans. "She's going to bleed out soon. D-didn't have enough magic to heal her up too."You look over and see that Raikov had a very nasty slash across her torso which was bleeding rather profusely. You make a note not to end up on the receiving end of Red's sword.Meanwhile, in the background, you can hear the Pave Hawk touching down and Rex comes sprinting over, extra medical supplies in hand.>Patch up Raikov. >>30095134That was my point. The Pave Hawk is here, we don't need to worry so much about Red. The challenge is going to be egress from the landing zone, if any of those Spetznaz are still around.
>>30094963You sigh. Part of you REALLY wanted to just leave Raikov do die, but you had a duty as a PJ to help anyone and everyone."Rex, patch up the Russian witch. Make sure she doesn't die." You say as you pick up Red. "Tarin, keep an eye on her. If she so much as breathes the wrong way, take her out.""Roger.""Janice, keep an eye out for enemies.""Yes sir."You carry Red to the waiting Pave Hawk. You see that Hiller and Viktor are already inside as well. "We ready to leave?" Bullseye asks. "Littlebirds will be here in five.""Almost." You say."Sir, I got a contact. Single person. Spetsnaz." Janice warns."What?" You turn around. "What's he doing?""I think he's surrendering. He's unarmed, and waving a white flag." Janice says."Keep an eye on him, I'm heading over there now." You say. You reluctantly leave Red in Hoskins' care and sprint to the other side of the clearing, where you see a lone figure standing."I suppose you are the one in charge?" The Spetsnaz asks in heavily accented but surprisingly fluent English."Yes. Captain Pierce. And who am I talking to?""Lieutenant Letedev." The soldier responds simply. "I will be blunt. You have something we want and we have something you want.""Really, now?" You raise an eyebrow.(cont)
>>30095174Letedev then turns around and gives a sharp whistle. At the treeline, you can see several more Spetsnaz hiding in the trees. You then see three Army Rangers marched into the clearing."We are here to evacuate critical personnel. I believe you have a similar mission. I have no wish to fight, so how about we trade and go on our separate ways? Give us our witch and our pilot, and we will release your three men.""How do I know you're not trying to trick me? You could've just took some uniforms off some dead soldiers and put your own guys in them." You narrow your eyes."Very sharp, but not true. I will demonstrate." Letedev waves at the prisoners to come forward. "Private Cogswell.""Private Jennings.""Corporal Mills."Well, all three men SOUNDED American, but you had to make sure."Texas." You challenge."Football." They all respond instantly."Satisfied?" Letedev says. "Again, our men for yours. Simple as that.">You're in the position of strength here. "And we have air support arriving in a few minutes. Once that happens, you're pretty much screwed. Just give us or prisoners, and we all go our separate ways.""Well, I was afraid of this." Letedev sighs. He then says something Russian in his radio. In the distance, you can hear engines powering up and a pair of Hinds slowly rise up from behind the trees. Bastards must have been hiding them this entire time!"I applaud your bravado. But, we cannot return empty handed, and if we are left with nothing, we will fight for everything, and I doubt you want that." Letedev continues. "So how about this. One concession for three men. Keep in mind that Tarin and Janice are in the air, and we're on the ground with Rex, Red with no magic, two prisoners, a downed marine aviator, and a transport helicopter. It is very much in our best interest to not give the Hinds any reason to open fire, regardless of whether or not the witches can bring them down. If they get one good missile off, we're all fucking dead.
>>30095543Right, we need to offer something. Granted, they could still reject it and we'd be back at square one - but hopefully, it's good enough that we can get out of here without those Hinds opening up.
>>30095513>>30095502The Russians were willing to admit to 27 lost to MANPADS, but the final tally for total losses was 79.
>>30095298"Fine. You can take the wreck." You motion to the Vampire debris. "But that's all you're getting. Deal?""Acceptable." Letedev nods at the three prisoners. "You are free to go."The three Rangers grin and dash over to the waiting Pave Hawk."I didn't expect you to take us up on our offer." Letedev muses. "I would've thought you'd fight us to the last.""Well, I'm a medic first, soldier second." You shrug."Yes, I have heard much about you 'PJs'." Letedev chuckles. "I suggest you get clear of this area."With that, you beat a hasty retreat to the Pave Hawk, keeping a wary on the Spetsnaz to make sure you don't get shot in the back. However, nothing happens, and you board your helo safely."Bullseye, get us out of here." You say."Roger."However, as the Pave Hawk pulls away, you see one of the Hinds land in the clearing while the other orbits above. That was... very odd. The Hind then lifts off, and seconds later the Vampire explodes in a massive fireball. You frown. If those Hinds were fuly loaded, all they had to do was fire their rockets and missiles."Tarin, can you recon those Hinds?""On it."As the Hinds pull away, Tarin reports back."Sir, the Hinds aren't even armed. They're full of Spetsnaz and wounded personnel." Tarin reports. You just laugh. Those fuckers actually managed to bluff you with unarmed Hinds that were nothing more than hastily retrofitted medevacs. You had to admit. Those Spetsnaz had some serious balls."Bullseye, you got their heading and speed?""Course I do, sir." "Tell Command we've got two Russian medevac birds headed out. If we're lucky we can get a bird out to intercept and force them down.""This is Rescue Ranger Five to any birds in the area, we've got two Russian medevacs eastbound on grid thirteen. Anybody that can force them down?""This is Gold One. I am intercepting." You hear a German accented voice respond.(cont)
>>30095634A couple of minutes later, you hear the sounds of a jet screaming overhead. You're sure that the Spetsnaz wouldn't be so suicidal as to try and pick a fight with a fast mover in unarmed Hinds. And then you see two explosions in the distance."What the fuck." You breathe. "Tarin! What the heel happened!?!?""A Luftwaffe bird just flew by and splashed both the Hinds." Tarin reports. You can swear that even she sounded a bit shaken at what happened.""Any radio traffic?" You ask."None. He just shot first and flew past."Now you're rather glad both Raikov and Viktor were put under with anesthetic. You'd hate to see either of their reactions to what just happened."What the fuck." Bullseye breathes. "It's... it's my fault.""Bullseye, you were just doing SOP." You say. "There's no way you could've known-""We come across some of the first fucking Russians I've seen that don't have the 'shoot first' mentality, and actually acted like fucking decent human beings for once, and because I called it in, they got plastered by some fucking German asshole!" Bullseye roars."Bullseye, there were just-""Don't give me that 'they were the enemy' crap!" Bullseye spits. "Those were fucking medevacs! I even called it out like that! What we had traded one of our prisoners to them, or if they took their prisoners with them? They would've been wasted! It's the FUCKING PRINCIPLE OF THE MATTER!""Bullseye. Calm. DOWN." You say. >>30095642>>Otherget on the radio to Gold One and congradulate him on killing 40 odd wounded personnel who were retreating, and make sure to do it over a public net and get his details
>>30095674So why mention it?Regardless, I'm going to base my knowledge on documented reports, and not the word of some anonymous guy on the internet, if you don't mind.
>>30095697because it was anecdotal evidence in a random conversation, jesus General Armchair, don't get your panties in a twist
>>30095642>Yes, it was messed up, but we'll worry about that later. That Luftwaffle jock's gonna get burned for this.
>>30095695Now, now. I'm sure he'll hear enough from his commanding officer when word of what happened gets out.
>>30095642>Yes, it was messed up, but we'll worry about that later.
>>30095642>>Yes, it was messed up, but we'll worry about that later.WTF hans.
>>30095736CO hell, He'll be hearing it form a Tribunal.Or the Gestapo.
>>30095642>[x] You and me are going to write him up for war crimes when we get back, right now focus on Getting Back.
>>30095736those kind of incidents get the attention of the media and result in serious jail time and war crimes tribunals
>>30095760Did I say it was going to stop with his CO?
>>30095651Final tally by the Soviet Army. 27 via MANPADS, with another 52 lost in combat with no cause listed that I've seen. But it isn't like the Mujaheddin had fighters or helos of their own, or anything remotely resembling an AAA net.
>>30095784"No cause listed" often means "oops, we made a mistake but we don't want to admit it." At least with countries like the USSR.
>>30095784Lost in combat with no cause generally means ones that have made it back to base but then been stripped for parts due to damage. So some effect, but not really shootdowns either.
>>30095803'no cause listed' mostly means non combat losses like worn out and retired airframes, frames scrapped because of damage, overuse and stress or used for spares or to hard to fix
>>30095784Damaged beyond being worth repair, or crashed because Red Army pilots flying Glorious Revolution Tractor Factory helicopters inna mountains.
>>30095642"Yes, it was messed up, but we'll worry about that later." You sigh. "Just concentrate on getting us back to Ramstein."All of you are silent for the trip back. You make a brief stop at Round Top to check up on them. Thankfully, the Rangers there had already received relief in the form of supplies airdropped by Chinooks, and with fresh ammo, they could afford to send out patrols to hunt for Russian stragglers and MIA personnel. You drop off the three Rangers you picked up in return for picking up some of Chamberlain's wounded for the trip back to Ramstein. However, the moment the Pave Hawk touches down on the landing pad, Bullseye leaps out of the cockpit and starts storming toward the base. "Bullseye, what the hell are you doing." You scowl, not wanting to leave Red unattended,"I'm gonna find Gold One and I'm gonna THROTTLE HIM." Bullseye growls.>Let Bullseye go. He needs to vent steam.>Try and talk him down.>Show him who the boss is around here.>Other
>>30095832>>Try and talk him down.Dude, don't get yourself court-martialed just because that other guy deserves one.
>>30095832>>Show him who the boss is around here.he needs to ask permission for that kind of shitpermission we will happily grant after he asks
>>30095832>>Try and talk him down.We need to handle Gold One's crucifixion properly and by the book. Flying off the handle at him could invalidate much of the prosecution case.
>>30095832>Try and talk him down.We have a way to do things, and we should get the base commander on our side first. At least organize some backup and make sure that other pilots don't come to Gold One's rescue.
>>30095832>Show him who the boss is around here."Stand down. That's an order."Him going off half-cock isn't going to solve this. If he wants to vent, he'll need to find another way that doesn't involve 'throttling' a pilot.
>>30095832>>Try and talk him down.
>>30095832>>Try and talk him down.'Show him who's boss' is the backup plan. Which I REALLY don't want to do, because it'll damage the squad's unity, but he can't let himself lose control.
>>30095832>Try and talk him down.We need Bullseye, having him storm off in a fit of rage to go do something stupid is going to end badly.
>>30095832>Try and talk him down.If by THROTTLE you mean write up a detailed incident report and pursue the matter through the proper channels, then yes.
>>30095832>>Show him who the boss is around here."Calm the fuck down. If you want to blow off steam, go have a quickie with your girlfriend."
>>30095832>>Show him who the boss is around here.Stand down soldier.
>>30095879"Interesting definition of 'throttle' you have."
>>30095832>Try and talk him down.
>>30095832>>Try and talk him down.Flying off the handle at this point will do more harm than good.
>>30095832"Bullseye. Stop. Breathe." You say, putting a hand on his shoulder to stop him. "Think about it. What happens when you track down Gold One and assault him? YOU'LL be the one getting court martialed instead of him! Look, we'll report to this Anderson. He'll handle this through proper channels. All right?""....fine." Bullseye sighs.----"These are some very serious allegations, accusing a NATO pilot of war crimes." Anderson frowns after you and Bullseye tell him our story. "Sir, we have the evidence to prove it." You say. "We've got Gold One's IFF, radar data, and even an eyewitness account from Tarin.""Yes, it's troubling." Anderson nods. "The only problem I see is the Luftwaffe trying to interfere in the process.""Why the fuck would they cover something like that up?!" Bullseye bursts out.Anderson just glares at Bullseye."Um, apologies for the language, sir." Bullseye says meekly."Because unfortunately, this is a problem that's particularly endemic to the Wehrmacht." Anderson sighs. "Right now, with the exception of Poland, Germany is taking the brunt of the damage this war. A lot of Wehrmacht soldiers know at least somebody who lives in Eastern Germany. The mental and emotional toll on them must be staggering.""Doesn't give them the excuse, sir." Bullseye growls."No, it doesn't, but I hope you can at least understand where that behavior is coming from." Anderson rubs his temples. "I'll file the relevant reports. It's not like I'm getting any sleep tonight, anyways.""Thank you, sir." You nod."It's my job." Anderson shrugs. "Good work today, though. Two prisoners and a flight data recorder? You made some boys in ISR extremely happy.""Just doing my job."(cont)
>>30096093"Anyways, both of you are dismissed. Get some rest. Bullseye, you especially. I believe Nungesser is just getting off patrol, too.""Wait, sir, how do you know-""Please, neither of you are exactly subtle about it." Anderson chuckles. "After today, I think both of you could blow off some steam."While sweet, you were also pretty sure Anderson's ulterior motive was to have somebody keep an eye on Bullseye, though you couldn't blame him. Bullseye was seriously letting his emotions get the better of him. As the both of you exit Anderson's office, you see Nungesser waiting outside, still dirty and grimy from her patrol mission. She doesn't say anything, though. Most likely she heard about what happened. Bullseye just stumbles forward and hugs Nungesser, burying his face in her chest. Nungesser just looks at you sadly and nods to you, signifying she's got this handled. You leave the two to their own devices. Now you're left wondering what to do, yourself.>Head to the dorms. You really need the rest.>Head to the hospital. Pay a visit to Red.>Other
>>30096102>>Head to the hospital. Pay a visit to Red.But check the dorms first.Round up the girls.

>>30096102>Head to the hospital. Pay a visit to Red.See how bad the injuries were.Though since she's a healwitch, feeding her full of calories so that she can use magic to heal herself is probably the best course of action.
>>30096132No, Frank must waifu Ghost.
>>30096102>>Head to the hospital. Pay a visit to Red.Red Letter Day.
>>30096171dude, Rex is already waifu'ing Ghost, lets be bros about it
>>30096182I take it you didn't read the end of thread stuff of, I believe, the last SW89.
>>30096102>Head to the hospital. Pay a visit to Red.support!
>>30096102You decide to head for the hospital to see Red. It seems like Janice and Tarin had the same idea, as they're already at the hospital by the time you arrive. "How is she?" You ask as you quietly tiptoe into Red's room."Fast asleep." Janice whispers. "Most of the damage is just sheer exhaustion. Doctor Lindell believes she'll be ready for discharge in a day or two.""That's good news." You nod. "She did a real good job today.""She did. I didn't think she'd be able to take on a tank witch hand to hand!" Janice says proudly."I taught her few techniques." Tarin shrugs. "Not really that hard.""I'm not surprised to hear you say something like that, Tarin." You grin and shake your head."Anyways, me and Tarin are going to be heading back to the barracks. Will you be coming with us?" Janice asks.>Sure.>Nah, I'll just stay here a little longer.>Other
>>30096102>Head to the hospital. Pay a visit to Red.Must pat head.
>>30096229>Nah, I'll just stay here a little longer.
>>30096229>Sure.Not much we can do. She needs rest more than anything else sounds like.
>>30096229>>Nah, I'll just stay here a little longer.
>>30096229>Sure.>>30096214Stuff just before it. Started with Merc posting a pic of Ghost.
>>30096229>>Sure.Well, that was anticlimactic. I guess we should let her rest.
>>30096229>Otherbefore doing anything else, go give her a pat on the head (unless it's not medically sound to doso). She was awesome this day.
>>30096229>Sure.She needs rest, and we need rest, time to head back
>>30096229>>Sure.Staring at her while she sleeps accomplishes nothing.
>>30096229>Nah, I'll just stay here a little longer. We must also send our thanks to our smithy friend back in the states sometime. He did well with that sword.
>>30096229>Nah I'll just stay here a little longer.
>>30096229>>Sure.It'd be one thing if she was awake, but we're better off getting our own rest, etc.
>>30096263>Stuff just before it. Started with Merc posting a pic of Ghost. That was just Merc and Ghost joking around, besides, Rex and Ghost (the character) were spending time together when we worked with the Delta boys, and Ghost is attracted to PJs after being rescued by some early in the war, I say we let them have their fun.
>>30096308>Ghost is attracted to PJs after being rescued by some early in the warWhat? I don't remember that at all.
>>30096308>That was just Merc and Ghost joking around, besidesYes... as was my post. The point was a running joke from the last thread SW89
>>30096332People take their shipping seriously, mate. Can't be joking about that.
>>30096229"Sure." You nod.Like the helo ride back to Ramstein, the walk back to the barracks is supernaturally silent. It seems like none of you want to talk. However, you think that's for the better. You're afraid of the conversation drifting back to the incident, and none of you want to be thinking about that as well. Once you return to the barracks, Janice and Tarin bid you good night and go to their room. You run into Bree too. She tries to prank you, but immediately backs off when she sees the look on her face.Oh right, you should ask her how she fared in the Battle of Berlin. Maybe later, though. You enter your room and drop down on your bed. You then look over and see Red's empty bed. It was weird. You were used to sleeping alone all the time. But, with Red absent, you feel not only alone, but.. something was actually missing, incomplete. Jesus, was this what Red felt like when you were in the hospital? You're still wondering the answer to that question when sleep finally overtakes you.>And that's it for tonight! PJ Witches will return next Friday. Remember, we've still got Cyberpunk Idols and Saturday and Magical Girl Hunter on Sunday!
>>30096456So merc, how did we fare on the 'how much did you fuck it up' scale?
>>30096456Thanks for the run, Merc. G'night!
>>30096469Did pretty well, all things considered.
>>30096514What happened to the Vampire's remains?
>>30096456Thanks for running merc.Love you.
>>30096456>She tries to prank you, but immediately backs off when she sees the look on her face.>her face.Your mom's face
>>30096519Blown to pieces.>>30096537It's laaaaaaaate.
>>30096456Got to know merc, If we we're forced to fight would that have avoided the casualites
>>30097098It's more likely we'd have suffered some casualties in our own unit fighting the Russians... on top of having committed a war crime ourselves. Can't win 'em all.
