Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen to another edition of Succubus Lord Quest! Now with another snowy pic!Last time on SLQ, Brooklyn was in for a very rude awakening when an Angelic hit squad tried to kill him. They were beaten off, but since the angels vaporized upon their deaths no information could be gained. After a small guilt trip to the Old TO Pride Demon families, new temporary housing was easily acquired. After that, we went to the Okarian Library to learn about all the new classes that Brooklyn could go into. Also, due to me looking at the votes and going cross eyed and me fucking up the voting mid way, I’ll be using an online program to track the votes. It’ll be up after the story posts. Also the second post was an ugly post with lots of eyesore text, which is now all compiled here!https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Um4gk-JN4CHFJJdQrJjfbzg6Q8FHcmfxP8sRDhaf-FI
[1/2]“I thank you for the explanation Lady Red, but I’d like some time to think such things through.” you reply to Red.“But of course. If you decide to join us, we’ll be here waiting for you.” Red replies.“Until next time we meet.” you say with a small curtsy.“May fate smile upon you.” Red replies.“And I’ll be waiting here next time as well.” Ludo replies.“Until you die of starvation.” you reply as you walk past Ludo.“Not taking anything yet?” Wilhelmina asks.“Wilhelmina I was attacked by a hit squad this morning, so my brain is a bit rattled. You had your sights set on being a Battle Mage since near the beginning. I have no idea what I want to do, so I’m going to give it some thought later on while having a bit of tea before going to bed.” you reply.“Good idea. In fact those new rooms that were promised for us should be ready.” Wilhelmina replies.“Then let’s have a look at it shall we?” you ask as you head out from the library.
[2/2]As you approach your new temporary living quarters, you can see this is another example of the Pride Demons trying to show off if anything else. The castle you’re living in is indeed shared with other nobles, but an entire section of it is decreed your own. Impressive works of art line the halls next to the mirror polished sets of armour as your feet feel as if they’re on a cloud when upon the red carpet. The banquet hall appears to be easily the size of the Fort Hope Ballroom, while the bathroom is fit with a modest spring that could be mistaken for a small pool. All of this is protected by guards... A lot of guards. Including a ‘few’ Pride Demon Knights stationed here alongside with their demonic bodyguards.“So it was... Right here?” you ask Wilhelmina while looking for your room.“I think. Let’s just try this door.” Wilhelmina says as she throws open the door to a room.As you enter, you can see what appears to be a Succubi with her traits out, currently doing her best to make the bed of the room. She’s a bit shorter than you with soft brown hair and dressed in a maid uniform. She turns around to meet your eyes as soon as you enter. “Excuse me, are you Lady Brooklyn Browning, the Court Mage of Fort Hope?”“That I am.” you reply.“My name is Samantha Delph and I shall be your maid so long as you attend here.” the Succubus says with a small curtsy.Hm... It’s considered very rude to refuse such a gift as a personal Succubus Maid when you’re a mortal, even if it’s only temporary.
>>29663570"I see. Thank you."How long is Brooklyn supposed to be staying? Because I think its about time he "leaves"
>>29663570"I'll be in your care for the time I spend here then. Though I prefer to make my own tea, so I wish you will take it as an insult to your competence when I do."
OK, some people mentioned the other classes were too strong/weak, so I tried to balance them out.For joining Wizards, Brooklyn gains the unique skill of Wizard Magic [Spells are harder to dispell and have less negative backlash it has any], three free rituals spells of your choosing, and the ability to make a one shot stored ritual of any control or non-melee unique magic [This increases the power of the spell, makes it cheaper, and harder to dispell, but can only be used one one spell. Yes you can decide to change spells, such as storing fireball one day then Moonblast another day], and lastly a control can go from nothing to average or from Average/Good to Good/Great.For joining the Sorcerers, Brooklyn gains the skill of EN-Save and Unique Power Bonus. EN-Save reduces the aether cost for all spells by 20%, except for those that drain the entire Aether pool. Unique Power Bonus increases the power of all unique spells. The teachings of the Sorcerer's will allow Brooklyn to learn one additional extra for all his unique spells. Lastly a control can go from nothing to average or from Average/Good to Good/Great.For joining the Witches, Brooklyn gains: Chemistry/Engineering (Artifacts)/Physics to good (or to awesome if already good), items allow Brooklyn to use medium cost controls for light aether cost (Rituals are not affected by this) and to go to ammo based costs instead of aether based costs, and can select one control to go from nothing to Average or from Average to good.Bard school offers the unique skill Bardic Training [+10 to *all* skill rolls], two social magic schools from nothing to average [Or pick one good rank to make it great], and Persuasion and one other social skill go from nothing to good immediately, and lastly you get one social Ability upon becoming a Bard, due to connections. Now pick two classes mentioned on this poll and vote for them.Poll link: http://strawpoll.me/1051431
>>29663570So while we've gained a blingy pad, we've also lost secrecy. Great. Thank her and make sure that everyone is on their best behavior. I'm also guessing since we need to vote for specialization again, we also need to vote for DP too. My votes are Light Control to Great (if Sorcerer is chosen), Quick Learner, and Persuasion to Good.
>>29664134The DP spending voting doesn't need to happen again. It was pretty clear cut in the last thread compared to the amount of specialization votes.
>>29664164that entire vote operated under the assumption we didn't need to save up for Light anymore fyi
"I'll be in your care for the time I spend here then. Though I prefer to make my own tea, so I wish you will not* take it as an insult to your competence when I do." you say.“But of course Lady Brooklyn. Shall I bring you the materials for your tea now?” Samantha asks“No thank you. I’m just content of looking around the mansion for now.” you reply. “I’ll be back in my room at around 10 hopefully. Bring the materials then.”“But of course milady.” Samantha replies. You and Wilhelmina turn around, only to see Ada standing there in her Marina persona.“Lady Brooklyn! Lovely new place we have here is it not?” Marina asks you.“Yes, very spacious. Could get used to it.” you reply.“I hope you don’t my dear, because we’ll be moving out of this place as soon as we can.” Ada says taking out a fan and using it on herself. “Still the amount of powerful demons here is quite something, I’m sure no one could get in or out without them knowing about it. They seem to have eyes and ears everywhere!”Great, there goes your privacy while you’re here. While you can get away with something like a summoning ritual in Old TO, doing it right in the middle of a Pride Demon noble house is something completely different.*I assumed there was supposed to be a not here. Yell at me if I’m wrong.
>>29664369No, it quite fine.
>>29664369"Understood, milady." Play the role.
>>29664369"I suppose we'll just have to bear with it for now."
humm we should probably look into our dad and the church to figure out what the heck is going on. Also we need to be really careful as i suspect the maid s broken and that even though we are not in trouble yet their are probably spys keeping tabs on us now.
>>29664369"It's here for everyone's protection. We'll all bear with it while we find a new place to stay. I'm sure they'll at least have the decency to give us privacy in our rooms."
[1/2]"Understood, milady." you reply.“Still after the ordeal we’ve had today, a bit of relaxation for yourself isn’t out of the question isn’t it? At the very least you could enjoy yourself here while you still can.” Marina says.“But of course. I planned to use the bath tonight. It’d be the first time in ages I’ve had a real bath and not those tin cans they’ve got here.” you reply.“Exactly! The last ruler of Fort Hope didn’t know what he was missing out on! ...In fact, why don’t you take a bath right now!” Marina says.“Now? Lady Marina I-”“Oh no, I *insist*!” Marina says as she brings you to the bath house area once again.
[2/2]While smaller than the Richardson bath, it is still quite a large bath. The only people appearing to be in it right now are Leona, Erika, and Amanda (with Erika being shapeshifted). Brodin is in here too, but he’s currently napping on a nearby bench.“I’ve never seen so much water in my life in one place.” Wilhelmina remarks.“...Really?” you ask her.“Yes, back on Pandora water was precious. Those who had Water Control were held in very high regard.” Wilhelmina states before pointing to the bath. “Inquiry, may I.”“By all means.” you reply to her.Just as Wilhelmina begins to unbutton her leather armour, you can hear Erica in your head. (“Lady Brooklyn? Can you hear me?”)Yes I can. Is this place as bug riddled as Ada thinks?(“That and more. Sebastien warned her that there was an ulterior motive behind this, and Amanda thinks so as well. The most popular theory seems to be that the Pride Demons don’t believe that a squad of Angels would just randomly do a terror attack like that. I think we’re hear so they can watch us in hopes they can catch us when our guards are down.”) Erica says.So they’re going to attack us?(“No, I don’t think so. They just want to watch us to see if we do any overt displays of magic or overhear any conversations that could yield information. That still doesn’t make any of us less nervous, especially when we each have a Succubus Maid...”) Erica says.More like Succubus Spy.
>>29665496"I'm sure we'll live, even though it's a setback at least I know who I have to watch for. It's almost relaxing really."
>>29665496We'll just have to be careful from this point onwards, then. Or make it look like we're complete novices at magic. Although, there might be a way of jamming them?
>>29665552This should be thought, not spoken, as anything in parenthesis is considered telepathic communication.
>>29665615So far, I think simply hiding our auras is more effective then anything else.
humm sounds like we will have to put our plans on hold. lets observe the situation (keep an eye out for magical and mundane spying) for a while and assume that we are being watch 24/7.
>>29665760forgot to specify this is internal musing and mostly directed as an possible approach to the situation not actual dialog
>>29665552mentally only.Mention to Wilhelmina out loud that we maybe kinda want to know if she can borrow a few mortals for dummies books from the Okerain library because those idiots would never let us in. Should give them a mental pidgion hole to put Wilhelma in.
>>29665760 ("I don't think that will be a problem Lady Brooklyn. They're hoping to catch us inside of the building, but Master Sebastien says there are ways around this. We could go out and hire some Succubus to shapeshift as us is one of the things Master Sebastien suggested. I'm sure there are others. Before I came in under the guise of Amanda's Bodyguard, Master Sebastien was searching for a new private location for us. Just... Don't expect it to be cozy knowing him.") Erica tells you.>>29665552("Yes but the security worries me... The fact there are also broken Succubi Maids helping us also seems to smear things in.") Erica says.
>>29665939right. Lets go to bed and head out to the Laminians in the morning.
>>29665840Since even enlightened mortals on only use rituals, we may ask her to borrow a few basic ritual books based on what we'd need as a court mage. Could bring up a few more interesting things, and act as a cover for us.
>>29665939>>29666018We should plan on what we're going to say and assume we'll be followed. Also, remember that if Celestia found out about our helping the Belkarians (among the others we've helped), it would be best if we hired body-doubles immediately to fool the Pride Demons. Also, we should develop a second identity (we should have done this immediately, but I think school took it's toll on our organization) so we can continue to do more work in succubi politics.
>>29666018Still only 4 or so in the afternoon
>>29666018We should inform someone in our study group about probably not being able to attend for a while. After that the people that need to know about our situation are likely aware of it already so it's better to let them contact us should the need arise. We might want to see if the place has a library so we make the most out of our stay.
>>29666283meant to quote >>29666157
>>29666283("I think it's a good idea to be cautious like this Lady Brooklyn, but I'll leave it up to you whenever or not you should call off your study group. I mean they seem like good friends.")("...Sorry but you tend to... 'think loudly' when you're asleep.")>>29666140("Sebastein suggested the body doubles as well. I think it'd be a great thing for community service, as any Succubi would love to be pampered after living out on the streets... assuming they're not wetting themselves in fear over being in a Pride Demon noble house. As for the identity, I've already made one. My normal one isn't that good nowadays... Most of the Langy Nobles don't trust me even though I came back alive... In fact when I did go back for a brief stint I sort of wished I couldn't read minds at all.")
>>29666582Cool. Lets finish our bath and then make tea or something. We're basically in a holding pattern until tomorrow.
>>29666582humm think the body double would work best problem is since our house got destroyed exel will not be able to move in with us. could offer to pay for both them to get a better apartment? perhaps one with 2 bedrooms instead of one. (need to also make sure exel does not compromise our body double's cover, probably try to make sure they don't meet and a little prep in case it does happen)
>>29666801OK so holding out until tomorrow? Anyone seconding this?
>>29666986Sure, seconding it. Just relax like we have never relaxed before, just mildly observe our maid to examine how broken a sucumbi can be.
>>29666986We should have Erika talk with Leona. She's probably shaken after the attack.
Well the only thing to do now is just to sit back and have a nice relaxing soak in the baths before continuing tomorrow. Hopefully Sebastien will have something by tomorrow....Wait a second, how did they let both Wilhelmina and Erica into here?(“Succubi are tolerated in Old TO remember. Succubi bodyguards are allowed, even in places such as this.”) Erica tells you.Ah, no wonder.Taking off your clothing and getting into the baths, you take your time and enjoy a nice long soak. The feeling of water being all around you and being able to stretch yourself out feels like pure bliss.“It’s just like back home...” you say going deeper into the water.“Hmph, hardly.” Amanda sneers.“Eh?” Leona seems puzzled.“The salt content is *far* too high. Natural spring water is supposed to be the best, but here it seems like they’ve overdone it.” Amanda says.“At least it makes the skin smooth.” Wilhelmina says rubbing some water into her arm.“...You’re a shapeshifter. Why do you care about that?” Amanda asks.“Taking care of my original form is considered to be a step to purify the body. Besides, I doubt I can have skin as fair as Leona’s.” Wilhelmina comments.“Oh please, I assure you it’s nothing.” Leona says blowing it off.“Seriously. A single noblewoman at your age. I’m surprised you don’t have a husband yet.” Wilhelmina says.“Well... My mother is trying to look for them right now. I’m only 15.” Leona says.Wilhelmina pauses, giving Leona a long look from head to toe. “You’re lying.
>>29667748"It is the honest truth, 'Helma. It shocks everyone when they find out."
>>29667748"She isn't. She looks like that and is a sweet and innocent 15 year old girl. It's completely unfair to everyone around her, and she doesn't even seem to notice."
>>29667748"Doth the shapeshifter weep over the purity of skin of a noble born human? Rue the day!"
“She isn’t. I know as I’ve seen her time to time around the castle as she was growing up since 12. She looks like that and is a sweet and innocent 15 year old girl. It's completely unfair to everyone around her, and she doesn't even seem to notice." you tell Wilhelmina.“I’m still having a hard time believing that. I’ve known Succubi who are not that developed.” Wilhelmina says.Leona just seems to continue to fidget uncomfortably at the discussion."Doth the shapeshifter weep over the purity of skin of a noble born human? Rue the day!" you reply.Wilhelmina looks at you for a few seconds. “...Maybe you should lay off the cream in your tea. I think you’re getting muffintops.”“What!?” you reply.“Muffins!” Brodin says raising his hand up into the air. “Muffins... are a good idea when I wake up...”(“Lady Brooklyn, the other thing I wished to talk to you about is how my sister behaved in front of an Angel that... was quite clearly trying to kill us. Her Aide defense and her Wind magic blocked most of the damage, but she still took a bit. She even carries that Celestia cross with her even though it burns her all the time now.”) Erica says.Even in here!?!?(“Goodness no! Even Leona had enough sense to leave the cross in a dropbox before heading here. Still I worry about my sister...”) Erica says, but she’s trying to play off her distressed thoughts by laughing along with Wilhelmina’s joke.
>>29668191You should worry about her tastes. Sounds like she's into masochism.
>>29668282no.>>29668191"I know, I worry as well. Perhaps we should encourage her to investigate the church of Pamilla or something."
>>29668191I feel for her, everything's she been taught is going to hurt her now. Give her time to think this event through, and then apply some more subtle pushing if need be.
>>29668528("Yes. Though my sister's body may be able to endure almost anything physically, I fear that the pain this fallout would cause could devastate her.")>>29668423("I'd... save the church as a last resort. I don't know how Leona will fare when confronted with the very ideal of Anathema to her.")Compared to Celestia seeing us as Anathema?("Well... It wouldn't hurt. Leona wouldn't dare hurt anyone unless they were going to harm others. I know of her that much.")(Anything you care to do before you head to bed? As a reminder, you only have 33% aether in your pool right now)
>>29668801>33% aether in your pool2low4meGet Brodin to lead us to a bar. Soak up some juice. See if he can actually tell us where to get that scythe for our sister now.
>>29668841>to get that scythe for our sister now.that's a good idea. I know people said to spend the day relaxing, but we might as well do this.
“I think I’m going to head out after this. Feeling like I want to get a drink at the pub.” you say.“But you’re going to soak first right?” Amanda asks.“For hours, yes.” you reply. You take a few of your friends to the bar, but make a note for Brodin to tell you things before he gets absolutely smashed. He claims that he gets most of his scythe work done here by some Sloth Demon in Old TO. He sells weapons at varying prices, but since Brodin is a Reaper he just passes the scythe to the Greed Demon and his ‘company’ sorts out the rest. The place is closed now though, so you’ll need to head there tomorrow if you want anything.“...God damnit it’s impossible to get any aether here at this bar.” you mutter taking a sip of your drink.“That’s why Succubi here are regarded as loose.” Sebastein says.“Eh?” you reply. “Too many Succubi in one place, all of them trying to compete for Aether? Does work out that well for them. So tell me what’s a shapechanger going to do when they can also absorb by direct contact with a person?” Sebastein asks you.“...Attempt to gain their attention by flirting.” you reply.“Bingo.” Sebastein replies. You give a small sigh. “I kind of miss Fort Hope and it’s easy bars. There has to be nearly a dozen Succubi in this bar alone.”“Two.” Sebastien says correcting you.“...Two dozen!? That’d be nearly every single female in here!” you proclaim.“That make a difference for you?” Sebastien asks you.
>>29669673"Well, yes. You know my flirting preferences."
>>29669673"Guess I'm going hungry tonight then."
>>29669673We could always ask Nalika for a rematch "debate". That filled us up last time.
>>29670003Actually, I have a few ideas for that. We can do that, but not with Pride Demons around.
>>29669673We could provoke a different emotion. Start a brawl or go up there and perform a song.A song would get the emotions pointed at us, even if we are not provoking lust while a brawl would start the emotions flowing free.
>>29669673It's times like this I miss my hyperweapon.
>>29670146a brawl would cause attention.
humm... how about going to a dance. physical contact is a must and usually some emotions are evoked during a dance.proably others have thought of the same thing but at least we can get some aether.
actually just realized could be expensive but could just buy regular mana potions (not aether royal). should ask first because their may be side effects of doing so.
>>29670590Probably going to see our family and just feeding passively while telling stories and stoking up strong emotions would work best.
>>29670687Yes, this a good idea.Brodin meet family. Scythe talk with sister.
"Well, yes. You know my flirting preferences." you reply.“Always going for the seafood.” Sebastien says with a gulp of his drink. You have a few dances with the ladies, but it’s a bit tricky. There are only four normal women in the bar. Two of them you dance with go on until their decreased Aether levels make them weak, and the third you only take a bit for worry that the other Succubi here would catch on or if anyone is spying on you. Going to bed in the Pride Demon’s place, you can feel the soft matress and pillow seeming to pull you into a sleep faster than you thought possible. While you like your room in Fort Hope, your bed is absolutely terrible and something you’ve been wanting to fix.******“Oh Brooklyn, you’re sssooo manly~.” Mina coos while curling up to you in your large bed in Fort Hope.“I don’t think I’ve had an experience like that before...” An adult Ada says next to you.“But to have all of us at once...” Leona says snuggling up next to you.“All but a matter of course for a Demon Lord like me.” you say using your large, overmuscled arms to pull all the women closer.“I’m... I’m sorry I just can’t handle this anymore...” Rebecca says while sitting atop your dresser....Wait a minute, why isn’t she in the bed next to y-“Because I’m in your dreams you masochistic moron.” Rebecca replies, sitting back on your dresser and looking at the scene. “After I heard about the Gemelli news that was recently released on you, I thought I’d best check you out, but this... this is something. So were you going to tell me you were a male before or after I found out that your father is training a Celestia hero?”
>>29670928Before, no really!
>>29670928I was going to tell you when it became relevant.why don't you join the harem for a night? It'll be fun.
>>29670928"Honestly? Probably before. I still have to sort out how I feel about the fact that my father may just have tried having myself and my friends killed. I never thought he was that...pious...sorry for needing a distraction. Augh, and now it's probably going to turn out that someone's listening icon this conversation because my luck is just that horrible."
>>29670928Well SORRY for going to bed hungry...
>>29670928Please suppress your insatiable desire for my MAN ABS at once.
" I was going to tell you before of course and i was going to investigate why the hell he is working with Celestia as it is something he would not do normally. considering that me and the rest of my family believed he died years ago, and i have only been made aware recently this is not the case."
>>29670928why would i tell you that?
“Honestly? Probably before. I still have to sort out how I feel about the fact that my father may just have tried having myself and my friends killed. I never thought he was that...pious...sorry for needing a distraction.” you reply. “Why don't you join the harem for a night? It'll be fun.”“Unfortunately I’m not a lesbian.” Rebecca replies.“...What do you mean? I’m a-” you stop as you hear your voice, looking down to see that you’re now in a teddy nightgown with purple fur.“All these lingering doubts about being male... I wonder, should I get rid of them all for you?” Rebecca asks.“OK! You’re good with mind magic! But I’m telling the truth here! I had no damn idea my father was working with Celestia!” you reply.“Then how can you prove that?” Rebecca replies. “For all I know you could be a Celestia Special Agent sent to investigate us and the Pride Demons.”“The angels tried to kill me!” you point out, manifesting some of your attackers next to the bed to show Rebecca.“Proves nothing. You have no idea the extent Celestia goes to gain trust.” Rebecca replies.
>>29671590>prove a negativeYeah, sure, that's gonna work. Maybe ask her for a suggestion?
>>29670928"I would have told you when I met my father in the next few days and found out what was going on. I only knew that a hero was in the area and that my father had apparently decided that contacting HIS CHILDREN was less important then playing priest at the Church of Celestia! If you want to talk about business, lets go into another room, one where I don't have to deal with the various insecurities of my life."
>>29671590I haven't seen my father in [x] years. My uncle raised me.""Search your feelings, you know it to be true."
>>29671590>"You have no idea the extent Celestial goes to gain trust.""You're right, I don't. And from the tone of your voice I'm guessing I'd sleep better in that ignorance."
>>29671590"If you want proof, you'll get it face to face and with a simple communication ritual. I'll come alone, under any list of restrictions. But right now I'm under watch by Pride Demons, I have to deal with my 'father', a man who wont even contact his daughter who lives in the same city as he lives. So, please, let's decide on a time and place where we can meet once I slip the tails the Pride demons will have on me."
"You're right, I don't. And from the tone of your voice I'm guessing I'd sleep better in that ignorance." you reply.“It’s best you learn of such things yourself.” Rebecca replies."I would have told you when I met my father in the next few days and found out what was going on. I only knew that a hero was in the area and that my father had apparently decided that contacting HIS CHILDREN was less important then playing priest at the Church of Celestia!” you reply.“Too late! Most of the Succubi who were interested in that village meeting were interested, but since this information has come to light a lot of them are upset that this was made known to them. You’re lucky I showed up, because the only thing the Miyian diplomat would do is try to slander you, and with that information you gave her a sledgehammer.” Rebecca replies. What? Son of a bitch...“In fact the only other leader which still seems bent on supporting you is Mary Subota. I could just say Okarian nepotism which you Okarians are famous for, but I think something is... very off when a person with diplomatic powers would vouch for a person who's possibly committing crimes against Succubi-kind.” Rebecca says. “I’m running a war, and I don’t like it when a possible fallback positions for civilians could be compromised, so why don’t you cut the bullshit with me Brooklyn and just tell it to me straight?”
>>29672159"You talked to a queen of demonkind and you're still suspicious? Can't help you, get out of my head so I can get some real sleep now."
>>29672159Fuck off and let me enjoy my harem for the evening.
so our father being the deadbeat cunt he is just undid all of our hard work, yeah we are going to beat him senseless when we find him
>>29672194no do not say that.. what the heck are you saying she has not even talked to a queen.garr why does everything always turn for the worst. will have to pull the queen card.
>>29672159this is maudlinwhy werent we showing her the communication ritual again?just say "You wouldn't believe me if I told you. I have to show you. We need to set up a communication ritual in a secure place. Nobody you don't absolutely trust should know about this. Other than that you have complete control of the location."
>>29672159Alright. I was turned into a succubus by Oksana herself. Yes, she's alive. So are all the other Queens. There's a communication spell that I know that will allow you to talk to them. I can perform it, under whatever precautions and security measures you want.
>>29672303Huh, you're right, I had misremembered.>>29672159change >>29672194to"I don't trust you enough to provide any evidence you wish to have, your off-handed remark about re-arranging my mind just goes to prove how little I can trust you.""Go away now."
>>29672359no, dont do this, this is retarded why would we throw away everything weve been doing for the past several threads
>>29672329Yet again, no. Just saying it is a bad thing. Show, don't tell.
>>29672329>>29672318>Telling someone who just threatened to re-arrange our brain anything.yeah, no.
>>29672377We aren't throwing away anything, she is, and she's not trustworthy, which is why we didn't show her the ritual in the first place.
>>29672159Yeah, just can't shake the feel that this is one of the Pride demons' pet succubi routing around in our mind. Whatever."Tell you what straight? That I'm planning to kill my father? Because I don't know if I can bear to do that having just found out he's not dead. That my proposal was made in good faith? You're in my damn head dear, you ought to know that answer yourself. As for Mary...I suppose I'll have to find that out myself. Thank you so much for suggesting she's been compromised. I'm sure I'll bee having nothing but nightmares once you've leave...assuming I get any sleep at all..."
>>29672385>putting yourself into shit instead of clearing up the situation because your feelings are hurt and you want to mopeyeah, no to you
>>29672410no reason why we did not is because she might be to volatile.
>>29672377The succubi village project we were working on is basically useless for us, we won't be in charge, and it'll be full of spies, I'm not saying we shouldn't do it, since the living conditions for succubi in old To are atrocious, but if they're backing out it's their problem, not ours.
>>29672421Yeah this. It's a trap.
>>29672466we need it to establish infrastructure so after we kick out acturus things don't go to hell because of pride demon scew you lock down.
>>29672425>Somebody who wants something from you leading off with a death threat. And yes,, I consider being a mind controlled slave equivalent to death.Yeah, they aren't an ally I want, she can go fuck herself.
>>29672359Yeah, no. We didn't do our homework with most of the succubi leaders. This wont help things.>>29672159"...Thank you for at least being...more reasonable then many would be, and giving me a chance to give proof. If you want to meet with me at some point, have an appointment for me within the next day or two. I need this time to get several succubi to impersonate us in front of the Pride Demons.I'll come alone, and I warn you that I'll need to perform a ritual, possibly two. I only ask that my friends aren't harmed if you aren't satisfied, and if you are, that the village is ONLY used for civilians. I've already created enough of a stir and...ugh, I'd rather not have innocents die."
>>29672421if it was then we would already be screwed as they would not bother with this and just break us.
>>29672523We did do our homework with most of the succubi leaders, we talked it over with Arum and Mary, Rachel was deemed likely to go full rebellion
>>29672545But we didn't plan out how we'd convince Rachel or use a false identity, so Celestia got involved. Hell, our real name what is registered at the Okarian Library.
>>29672492We don't need it on the scale proposed. Maybe a few more miyians and okarinas hand picked by us and Amanda. And a few other friends (not necessarily just succubi) that are dissatisfied with the current power structure. Enough of a base to build from but a small enough population of daemons and enlightened that we can actually keep on top of them and effectively police them for spies? That would be better than a full fledged colony is all I'm saying.
>>29672595Yes, and? I fail to see why us almost being killed is her concern. I also fail to see any reason to give in to damands like this, either she's an ally, and doesn't need to make threats, or she's an enemy, she's currently choosing the latter course. Why does nobody understand that this is played for keeps, and that caving to these threats is going to get us either swept under the rug, or killed?
>>29672545Yeah, that was very dumb. It's like the players don't think the pride demons have spies in the library for some reason.
Whoops, >>29672642 should link to >>29672595
>>29672642I'm mostly annoyed that we keep saying 'walk all over Brooklyn, she'll cave."
>>29672632If she's our enemy, it'll make the quest a LOT harder. We came to Old TO to get the clans together, to STOP the infighting. If the Pride demons knew this much, we'd be dead. She's only asking us because the Sabutas are so supportive, and she wants to know the secret we've been hiding. So we need to show her. But that requires a communication ritual.
>>29672678Except that still doesn't change the fact that she started off with a threat, until she recants and apologizes, she can go fuck herself, we don't actually /need/ her assistance, things just may take a little longer.
>>29672632This is her deciding whether it's worth the fallout to burn our brain out. That kind of psychic spike has to leave a big enough trail for the pride demons to follow (or sic their hounds on) and is probably pretty draining, but it might be worth it to eliminate such a sinister threat.
>>29672740With the distance we're at and our spatial control, plus her projection to focus on right in front of us? we'd likely actually win this fight.
>>29672740So, we probably should calm down, if someone wants to burn our brain. Think rationally, set up a meeting, get the Pride Demons off our tail, set up communication with Janine, and then, well...things should work themselves out.
>>29672702>apologizesthis isnt a fucking hugbox, she doesnt need to apologize, the fact that as she said she is fighting a war is enough for us to be understanding about itseriously, there is no room for hurt feelings here
>>29672702Why the fuck do we care about her attitude or opinion? All we need from her is compliance until the inevitable betrayal. She isn't going to be a friend or an ally, just a crazy fanatic whom we happen to share an existential threat with.
>>29672771and there's no need for an ally who's as dangerous as our enemies at our throats, which is all she is right now.The apology isn't for hurt feelings, it's to prove that she'll bother to actually work as a team-member.
>>29672754uh no she is way above us currently.while it gets tireing to being endlessly threatened she does have reason for being paranoid and we have to deal with it. politics is not always conducted from a point of strength.
>>29672754You have to be able to hold a coherent thought to use magic.
>>29672798she's stronger than us, but she's forcing her projection across a long distance, which is far harder, vs us being able to hit her as if she's right next to us, because for all intents and purposes, she is.
>>29672795> which is all she is right now.yes, and we are trying to get her away from there, except for you who wants her to apologize insteadlol
>>29672795Except she isn't a team member and had never planned on being one. She just planned to funnel non combatants our way while continuing to wage a guerilla war with the pride demons. The whole point of our arrangements was that we were not going to be connected so Ft. Hope could act as a massive succubi safe house.
>>29672824And you think she doesn't have the psychic equivalent of Space Control because?
>>29672847What works better at keeping an angry dog from your throat? beating it with a brick? or feeding it steak every time it goes after you?
>>29672884placating it with what it wants, obviously, not growling at it to piss it off
>>29672876Because according to Sandacts list of psychic powers, it doesn't exist..
[1/2]"Tell you what straight? That I'm planning to kill my father? Because I don't know if I can bear to do that having just found out he's not dead. That my proposal was made in good faith? You're in my damn head dear, you ought to know that answer yourself. As for Mary...I suppose I'll have to find that out myself. Thank you so much for suggesting she's been compromised. I'm sure I'll be having nothing but nightmares once you've leave...assuming I get any sleep at all..." you reply.“I understand that, but our clan founder was the person who managed to convince the Old World to have a one world government with her as the first President of Earth. Saying you’re going to do something is nice, but the main thing I want right now is results and hard information. Right now I’ve got confirmed proof that your Father is training a hero, and that is more than enough cause for alarm.” Rebecca says.“I can see the problem of a hero being Articus then having to deal with Celestia yes...” you reply.“At least the Pride demons *have* honor, to Celestia we merit no more moral consideration stepping on an ant. A literal ant. When it comes to an enemy, I’d rather deal with an enemy who spares the children and sick rather than one who burns down everything.” Rebecca replies."...Thank you for at least being...more reasonable then many would be, and giving me a chance to give proof. If you want to meet with me at some point, have an appointment for me within the next day or two. I need this time to get several succubi to impersonate us in front of the Pride Demons.” you reply.“What you’ll need to do is prove the rumors spawning off of that fact about you wrong.” Rebecca says.“And how do I do that?” you reply.
>>29672798We barely made contact with her. All she knows about is the village. She smells something else from the Sabutas, so she's digging. She's actually being pretty rational. So we should take a moment and consider: She wants to know why the Sabutas trust us. So she's giving us enough time to rationally explain ourselves. This is why I suggest using my post here: >>29672523 . It gives us time to think, time to get our friends time away from the Pride Demons, and possibly get the Ayarians on our side. The Miyians wont be able to destroy our plans with this political support, and if we can find out who killed the Miyian Lord, we can even get them on our side.
>>29672901that is a very very lose list mostly applying to our abilities
>>29672884Sorry, too tired to work out this metaphor. You think she cares enough about personal pride to give a shit about rattling off an insincere apology (making her apologize is the brick right?)? Or are you saying that Ft. Hope (steak?) is off limits to any of her people?
[2/2]“Assume you are a special agent of Celestia. To reinforce your cover, having some of your own men try and kill you is something that is standard protocol. What you need to do is some sort of action that will give Celestia a serious kick in the ass.” Rebecca replies.“...You want me to kill my father?” you ask.“No, you made that conclusion yourself. It doesn’t matter what the action is. It just has to be something which’d make Celestia angry... aside from you being a living demon.” Rebecca replies.“Then my cover as a human being is blown.” you reply.“Only if you use your Brooklyn Browning name. Most operations I can think of would just use dummy throwaway identities.” Rebecca replies.
>>29672938no, the brick is nuking her with magic, the steak is information.
>>29672946No, fuck this. Why would we beat around the bush when we can just set up a communication ritual and have her vouch for us.
>>29672946"Thank you for at least hearing me out. I have a few ideas in that regard, one of which is crazy enough that it just might either work or get me killed." If she asks what it is: "Getting my father to speak against the Church should do it."
This entire argument made me think of something, why the hell aren't we dumping points into will? this mind reading/control shit has got to stop.
>>29672964I see. So why do we want to reveal ourself as a demon by using our powers overtly with so many other demons around?
>>29672990Why indeed? It isn't an ultimatum on her part. Only a suggestion. If you want to go another route, then that'd be fine by me.
>>29672990Well, she would blow their prison wide open tonight if we did so...I don't think this one is very discrete.
>>29673045So are there other acts involving demons that are verboten to celestian believers?
>>29673045It wasn't really a question or you. I just want to do the communication ritual with her and avoid a ton o headaches.
>>29673079Yup. For that, you guys will need to use your own noggins.
>>29673071she isnt insane either, like you make her out to beshe knows perfectly well how useful waiting for the right moment to strike can be
>>29672990Because she may not want to at this point. Although you raise a good point. I'm getting seriously stressed having to deal with all of this in-fighting, and I think my ability to RP is compromised.>>29673045Lets get Rebecca in contact with the queens, the other half my my post should work for this.
>>29673108Exactly. All of this is getting way too annoying. She would certainly be willing to do it if it was on her turf with people she trusted there.
>>29673105Is fucking a demon verboten? This seems like something that would be in character knowledge, but not being our character, I do not know.
well one way is to kill the hero or turn him from Celestia by showing him how evil they are. keep in mind that we are so low level the hero's ability probably won't trip badly for us. but everything that can go wrong will go wrong.rather like to turn hero if we can as it would get around all the nasty habits of hero and be a huge return to sender for Celestia
>>29673161Mainstream Celestia seems like it carries quite a few of the flaws/crimes of Protestant and Catholic Christianity.Being good isn't good enough. Being loyal to their little empire is, however.
>>29673161For widespread Celestia? Yup.For Celestia special forces to maintain cover? Nope.Key things would be massive disruption of important plans, destruction of what is considered to be key installations, abduction/assassination of key personnel. Basically anything that can be considered an act of High Treason by a state.
>>29673230so to meet her ultimatum, we'd need to start an overt war, or publicly become terroristsyeah fuck that plan
>>29673269its not an ultimatum, it was a suggestiona bad one, because she doesnt know how extremely easy it is for us to show her what were doingjust put her in contact with the queens, its that simple
>>29673230Time to learn a ritual that will allow us to destroy a building... then get rid of a church I guess.
>>29673291yeah, thats what i'm leaning towards
>>29673302They'd have protections against this most likely. And honestly, Iskunder's Orb already allows this.
Ok, so how about abducting our own dad to debrief him and have a nice family gathering. Would fuck up their hero training, their little church, and get us some quality time with dear ol' dad.
>>29673326He's training a hero. Said hero will also be a problem.
>>29673349We aren't that strong so the Hero should get a boost too big
Part of the problem is that we have a succubus who is actively a Celestian.
>>29673365Yet another reason to avoid celestia as much as possible for now. We have other things to do. And a very handy out with Rebecca. Do the damn ritual.
actually another way to get celestial is find undeniable proof that they are in charge of the collage and get them raided my pride demons. (pulling an inquisitor who uses pawns to do dirty work)
I agree with >>29673302 It's only repayment for our last apartment. Destroy their hideouts, leak their agents name, loot their supply.
I'm going to head to bed, update when I wake up, as per usual. You're all welcome to discuss plans in the meantime.
>>29673924Seeing as the church is an underground movement destroying their HQ even if successful is likely going to do little. We need information on their fallback positions and ambush them there when they are forced to retreat after we give their HQ position to the pride demon. Before that we'll have to leak the black flame huntress identity to the Gemelli in exchange of their help in curbing the rumors, though I'm pretty sure even then we'll have to bring back either our father's or the hero's head back as a proof.
>>29673680Actually, >>29673384 may be the best suggestion here. We could get the Pride Demons off our back, hit Celestia, help out the Ayarians and...yeah.
>>29674117While hitting Celestia at some point is an idea, we need to be careful about this. Stealth is currently our main ally here and we're already not perfect at covert action. We need to focus on keeping as low a profile as possible, gathering allies (Rage demons, Kyon might be someone to talk to, human could help too depending on what happens), and freeing the Queens.
We just need to expose the Celestian pedophile ring. They'll lose all credibility afterwards.
Well, we could make the weaknesses of paladins, priests, clerics, saints and angels public knowledge and tools to kill them publicly available for affordable price of 9,95$Come on guys, you're humans, if there's one thing we're good at it's coming up with new creative ways to blasbheme against gods and nature AND make a profit in doing so. Hell, we can twist the rumor in such a way that instead of people thinking we're working for celestia, people are thinking that arranged the terrorist attack in order to increase demand for our new line of affordable anti-holy crossbow bolts and whatnot. Instead of people thinking we're a celestian agent, people will think we're a ruthless war profiteer. We just need to pick up witch or a bard and figure out a way to start mass producing these things within legal limits allowed by the pride demons.
>>29675733This "War against Terrorism" is also a brilliant way to flare up the human emotions, making the overall aether output of humans higher.
>>29674227>>29675733>>29675594>>29675762acting directly against celestia is against our best interests, i strongly suggest we dont do any of these things
In my opinion we should try to think if we can come up with a relatively harmless way to twist this scandalous rumour into another direction without turning into as previously mentioned. If people want to believe one lie, that means they're willing to believe another if it's properly served.
>>29677407whywhy not just do the communication ritualwhy are we complicating things with unnecessary distractions
>>29677451Because we're currently being tailed.
>>29677884that's not much of a reasonthere are ways to make the location secure, especially considering we are doing it with one of the succubus leaderssure, any agent of celestia tailing us would know we had dealings with rebecca after we did it... but they already know we had dealings with rebecca anyway
>>29677884>>29678031Aren't we talking to her securely right now? Tell her to enact the ritual somewhere secure.
>>29678317yeah, pretty much, she is probably about 50 times better at giving us a secure location than what we would come up with anywayas long as she understands how important secrecy is well be alright
“...Yea I think I got a few actions in mind to piss them off.” you reply. “I just need to find out some information about the Celestia special Forces and their Modus Operandi to get a better picture of things.”“Good, hopefully that’d be enough to clear out any doubts.” Rebecca says jumping off of your desk.“...Wait, you’re helping me?” you ask.“Yes, I am. Because if this village plan succeeds, we’ll have taken a first step to helping get groups of Succubi out of Old TO.” Rebecca says. “It’s nearly about time you woke up again, so I’ll be taking my leave.”“...Can I have the macho body back?” you ask.“Na, I think your ass looks better as a girl anyways.” Rebecca says as she leaves through the door nearby.******You wake up on top of your deluxe Pride Demon bed, groggily coming to as you get up, looking down at yourself to see that you’re still a well endowed female wearing a black frilly nightgown.“Stupid chest.” you say giving your breasts a small punch.“...Lady Brooklyn? Are you alright?” you see Samantha standing at the entrance to your room. “Is the bra I supplied you with last night too tight?”
>>29679391"Good morning Samantha, I simply had a bad dream. Can you bring me breakfast and a change of clothing, today will be busy."
>>29679391"No! No! It's fine! I'm just...a practical lady, and I find my overly large mammary glands often impede my own comfort."
>>29679391"Just a dream, don't worry about it."
"No! No! It's fine! I'm just...a practical lady, and I find my overly large mammary glands often impede my own comfort." you reply.“Yes, as a mortal woman you are quiet well endowed.” Samantha replies. “Can you bring me breakfast and a change of clothing, today will be busy." you tell her.“But of course. I already have your breakfast here milady.” Samantha says putting down the tray, showing it to have toast, eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, a small set of things to make tea with, in addition to a large glass of orange coloured liquid you’ve never seen before. “I’ll prepare you clothing right away milady.” Hm... You are somewhat curious to talk to Samantha about questions on what it’s like to be a Pride Demon pe- I mean Maid. But you can also use this time to plan out the days events. Like how to shake off anyone who may be following you... On the bright side, Imps can deliver messages and you’re clear to cast that even as mortal Brooklyn.
>>29679718Best way to shake a tail is to prearrange a swap. We just need to break their sight for a second and we'll be good.
>>29679718If they tail us in the mundane way we always have 360 degree vision. We could wait until we have our body double and abduct them, extract everything useful from them and get Rebecca to modify their memory before releasing them. If they tail us in the magical way our only mean of evasion will be finishing that book we borrowed.Otherwise: "Samantha out of a sense of 'perverse' curiosity what is it like to work as Pride demon servant?"
>>29679923>"Samantha out of a sense of 'perverse' curiosity what is it like to work as Pride demon servant?"no
>>29679718Take especial care towards what they give us. Be prepared for aether in the food, both positive or negative, or poorly prepared food that may have be aethericly bland.Prepare tea, making sure to prepare a bit for the maid, and set aside enough of the food for a light breakfast.
>>29680001And this isn't to say I expect Sand to be NECESSARILY that devious, but it helps to be prepared.
"Samantha out of a sense of curiosity what is it like to work as Pride demon servant?" you ask as you cut into your eggs.“What do you mean?” Samantha asks. “Well it’s not often you see demons in Fort Hope, much less in roles such as maids. I’m wondering small things such as how you got to have this job and other such things.” you say as you dunk your toast in egg yolk.“My life has been a fairly standard one milady. I was born in raised in New TO, and was sent quickly to a re-education camp. When I became an Aide proper, I finished the rest of my training and was shipped here to be working ever since.” Samantha says as she goes through your wardrobe for your clothing. “Your clothes were damaged in the attack milady, but I should have them all restored by the time you leave.”You swallow your egg on toast. “Thank you very much Samantha. How long ago was that since you left the maid training?”“8 years since I’ve left. I’ve been a full maid for about five years now.” Samantha says as she hangs your dress on the side of the changing curtain. “Since you are new here, please keep in mind that the Laminian maids here are fully trained. Their uniform is just that of trainee maids.”Hm... Food doesn't taste poisoned so far...
>>29680157"Thank you for the information Samantha it would have been careless of me to insult them by inadvertence."
>>29680157finish up and head out.
"Thank you for the information Samantha it would have been careless of me to insult them by inadvertence." you reply.“Not at all milady. Do you acquire anything else?” Samantha replies.“No, that’d be all.” you say dismissing her.“Of course milady.” Samantha says leaving the room. You finish up your breakfast, greatly enjoying the orange colored drink as you’ve never had anything quite like that before. But as you get dressed, you wonder how to prepare yourself for a switch with a body double. Mainly who to call... Or if you should just grab a random Succubus Aide off the street and ask. God knows they’d love to be pampered and as an Aide they won’t be able to break if worse comes to worse.
>>29680400Maybe we should talk to Ada about that?
>>29680400I'm thinking we have our Ariyan do some telepathic recruiting.
[1/2]Given that you could be watched, you decide it’s best to do some recruitment. You ask Erica mentally to see if she if she can do some recruitment for Succubi to swap places with you while Leona heads out for shopping. You plan to stay behind at the Pride Demon Palace and catch up on your reading a bit.It takes them several hours to return, as you can see them walking into the study room you’re located in.“Hello Brooklyn! We brought you back an apple!” Leona says handing you an apple.“Thank you. ...Oh my it’s a fresh one too. What’s the occasion?” you ask. Fresh, unsalted or uncanned fruit is an expensive treat up here.“Oh this store had them on sale so I figured why not buy everyone an apple!” Leona says in a cheery tone while holding a basket full of fruits up.(“Lady Brooklyn, I’ve managed to find a group of Succubi who’ll agree to swap places with us. Four Aides, two Ayarians, one Miyian, and one Laminian.”) Erica tells you.Wow, really that many?(“When I told them they were going to live in a castle with all their needs met, they didn’t seem to mind all that much. The plan is that we’d just switch identities with them for the time being.”) Erica says.
[2/2]How well known are they?(“I just literally picked them off the streets at random. The Ayarians and Miyians are jobless, the Laminian wants to hide from gamblers, and a few of the Aides are on work breaks right now.”) Erica says. (“They’re in a location in Old TO waiting for us now, one place where they think the Pride Demons won’t follow us into. If we need a place to stay, Master Sebastien has his place all ready for us on the outskirts of Old TO while Sir Alex and his group have another place out for rent.”)Alex isn’t here? You thought you noticed something funny.(“They didn’t want to risk the Pride Demons finding out there were originally Celestia trained heroes, so they pulled the ‘I was only a mortal witness’ card and got their own rooms until Lady Ada can find us all some new ones.”) Erica says.
>>29681025We shouldn't head over there all at once, or even staggared. We'll head over there first, and arrange for replacements over time at different locations.
>>29681025>>29681136Gradual replacements sounds like a good plan
Gradual replacement is a better option here. Going into a building all at once is going to seem a bit fishy, so we’ll do it bit by bit.(“Very well then. Any order you want to do this in particular?”) Erica asks. (“Everyone seems to be to be going first apart from Ada, who wishes to do some diplomatic efforts while here in the castle.”)...Oh lord, she isn’t trying to undermine the Pride Demons here isn’t she?(“Could you blame her for trying?”) Erica asks.
>>29681598"Not particularly. I just hope she is careful, though."
>>29681598You'll stay for a while to help coach the others if necessary. Wilhelma gets replaced last because we already know she's a succubi so her blowing her cover isn't really an issue. We go first to coordinate the rest of it from our end. 1. Us (we've got to coordinate everything from our end2. Leona (can't lie worth a damn)3. Twins (seperation thing)4. Mina (Bad at lying)5. Amanda 6. Ada7. Erika (she can telepathically coach the others8. Wilhelma. (she doesn't have a cover, so she can't break it)
>>29681714Wouldn't the twins make it nine?
>>29681747I count them as one because they need to swap together because of twin thing.
>>29681747umm not sure if the twins were with us at the attack. thought they hung out with us but lived with father.
>>29681820Yes they were with their father during the time of the attack.
>>29681846Hey, once we change identities we can pull the I'm Brooklyn gag again! That will be fun!
>>29681714so1. Us (we've got to coordinate everything from our end2. Leona (can't lie worth a damn)3. Mina (Bad at lying)4. Amanda5. Ada6. Erika (she can telepathically coach the others7. Wilhelma. (she doesn't have a cover, so she can't break it)Any objections?
>>29681987Who's going to pick the short straw and be the Laminian?
>>29682034Ada. She can't properly impersonate someone else anyway.
>>29682034>>29682042I always wanted to be the little girl. Problem is that the laminian can't impersonate us.
>>29682073u wot m8she does the impersonation of others all the time
>>29682096All of whom are children.
>>29682133eh, many of the others are young teens too, there shouldnt be that much of a problem
>>29682090Only one she can impersonate is Ada. So ada gets stuck with the short straw. Fortunatly, she's also the best prepared to deal with gamblers.
>>29682034Ada. The laminian can only impersonate her.>>29682158>Laminian>Impersonating the various racks of our studentsPick one.
the lamia could inpersonate erika or amanda they are still teenagers if i recall.
>>29682184>no bra padding allowed!
>>29682219I'm not hearing a reason why we should do it other than some guy rolled some dice because he didn't care. I have actual reasons to not want to have Brooklyn stuck in a little girls body, like it getting in the way of finally seducing the Nitorin twins
>>29682205They both have large racks that a Laminian can't impersonate.
>>29682259>implying we won't finally win them over with an overload of cuteness. It's not pedophilia if it's a succubus
>>29682279Erika is flat as a board.
>>29682259you take that back, dice are the truest expression of caring
>>29682316she started increasing her breast size once she became a succubus. There was a scene teasing her about it and everything.
>>29682259>I'm not hearing a reason why we should do it I want to see a scene where Brookly draws the short straw an gets flustered.
>>29682034I vote Ada or anyone other than us.
>>29682341Oh, then fuck no. Brooklyn gets the short straw far to often.
>>29682374So what? This time it's legit.
>>29682341>I want to see a scene where Brookly draws the short straw an gets flustered.NO!
>>29682374That's what you get for not taking fate control
>>29682385>>29682404because its the exact opposite of the direction we've been trying to take the character.
>>29682399>>29682374why not? i always enjoyed those, and tis not like this is a zero sum game you know, its fine if something that you dont care about makes it in
>>29682437Because I want Brooklyn to be the one to get others flustered, not the reverse. And even when we vote to do so, we fucking lose continuously anyway without a roll, which is bullshit. I'm fine with someone getting flustered for getting the short straw, as long as that someone isn't brooklyn.
>>29682472What this man said.
>My vision of Brooklyn is better than yoursThe game, the movie, the quest
>>29682472but the whole reason why brookly is an endearing character is how he acts in those situationsyou want to just amputate character traits like that? why? brooklyn wont really resemble brooklyn if that happens, instead hell just be a faceless protagonist without a personality
>>29682472>Vote to tease sister>instantly lose with no roll even though the players are clearly trying to win
>>29682526Brookly got some strikes in on Excel, don't act like it was completely one sided.
>>29682512Because we've been told we can mold him, and A lot of people have been trying to mold him into a confident charismatic character and have been constantly nope'd even when we do get the votes on our side.
>>29682556It ended in a complete route. I'm fine with Excel getting hits on us as long as we get the last word.
>>29682472"Confident Charismatic Demon Lord" has been my goal from the beginning. I'm certainty frustrated at our "progress"
>>29682564Like we would have ended up as a bard if we listened to all the 'votes' in the last thread yet it's one of the least voted option behind throwaways vote.
>>29682564molding is one thing, but that sounds like the complete oppositeif you want brooklyn to be confident you should take the flustered moments in stride and work with that>>29682601>brooklyn has to automatically win no matter whatyeah, no, fuck this, this would be a lot worse than what we have now, which is a believable situation when you consider their personalitiesit only ended in a complete rout from the perspective of brooklyn, im sure his sister is nursing some wounds too, shes just hiding it
>>29682512Indeed.While they are good in serious situations, they are pretty bad in minor ones where they only loss is embarrassment.I enjoy seeing Brooklyn like that. It gives them character and is fun.
>>29682649Wizard has the most differential. Also wasn't referring to that in particular.
>>29682649Really? I had a feeling like almost every vote in the thread was for Sorcerer.
>>29682716Bard had the least votes.
>>29682219when a spy does our laundry, no bra padding is allowed
>>29682737I have nothing against Bards and that would definitely be my second choice after Sorcerer. It fits Brooklyn quite well.
>>29682814yeah, we wouldnt want a spy to find out we stuff our bra! they might give us funny looks or even pity us!...wait, stuffing bras isnt illegal or something, is it?
>>29682842when we aren't doing it originally, yes yes we don't
>>29682869see >>29682858The entire "replacing brooklyn with the Laminian" is a stupid, pointless complication.
>>29682842>...wait, stuffing bras isnt illegal or something, is it?Certainly not but if someone notices the bra stuffed from then on in company of pride demons we would need to reduce out chest size and stuff lest we be discovered. it's just needless extra work that makes no sense for us to make for ourself
>>29682887pointless complications is what gives a quest life
>>29682887It's not like we have to take the laminian spot right aways.
[1/3](“OK, so remember, the shortest string here will switching places with the Laminian.”) Erica says as she holds a collection of strings in her hand. You sure this is going to go over well?(“Ada said it’d be fine since Succubi change their body shape all the time. The Laminian will turn into Marina regardless. If pressed... Well the Laminian should be able to look like me. Master Sebastien ordered me not to use shapeshifting as wish fulfillment anymore....”) Erica says.Oh fine. One in seven odds, not like you’ll be the one to take it anyways. As you all look over your strings, you notice that you’re the one who has the shortest string.“...Oh son of a bitch...” you mutter.“Don’t worry milady, I’m confident that the bakers will have the croissants finished soon.” Samantha says, believing this is a guise to see who goes without a pastry. “...It’s the principle of it Samantha.” you say with a small defeated sigh as you toss your string away.(“What are the odds?”) Erica replies.Don’t tell me the odds!******Changing your identity goes under the cover of both you and Ada heading out under the guise of looking for ingredients or information of bolstering the magic defenses of Fort Hope. Well not a guise, as it’s partially truth too.“You sure this will throw them off our tails?” Ada whispers to you you while in the open air market.
>>29682915>>29682901It's not like the spies will be doing our laundry after we swap anyway.
[2/2]“Yes. As far as the demons know, I’m a mortal court mage who’s been at her job for no more than two months. Let them assume I’m making a mistake.” you reply. “Erica also sent out the two Succubi as one going out with her Laminian friend, and I can see why she’d change shape because half the time I hit my head on the doors in your village.”“Fine, let’s just go meet up with them.” Ada says as you leave the booth. You first stop for meeting up is in the basement of an abandoned Old World building a bit outside the bounds of Old TO. The official explanation of this is that you’re trying to set up a geomatic network to make a hostile weather node outside of Fort Hope with specific timings. You know it’s bullshit in all actuality, but it should be a smooth enough blend of ignorance, perceived inexperience, and fact to throw off anyone who does both to read it.Meeting up with the Succubi to change places with, the Aide takes your position while the Laminian takes Ada’s. You spend about a half hour explaining who you are, your personality details, brief history, and other bits of information. Likewise the two give you some brief bits of information in return. Kerrigan Hobbes is your new name, while Miko Tsubasa is the name of Ada’s personality. After your duplicates leave, you wait several minutes before deciding to leave. Looking up the stairs, they seem a lot taller than they used to be.“Ada?” you ask.“Hm?” Ada replies.“How do you get used to everything being giant sized?” you ask.“I satisfy myself with saying my ego is bigger.” Ada replies.“Huh...” you reply. “...Could we switch later?”“Possibly. I want to see that free back and wing massage I found in the Aide’s clothing will still work.” Ada says as you climb the icy stairs back up into the snowy winter world. Free to once again do as you please.
>>29682933Convinc Ada to swap places with you. Use magic if necessary.
>>29682956Change to a new form. We aren't dealing with this shit.

>>29682956Time for a new identity. An older one.
>>29683043Second, nobody suspect little girls ever.
I can't wait for Brooklyn to get one of those fake dicks to replace her lost hyperweapon. We could ask for like, an hour of private time, and then we'd emerge the single most confident person the world had ever seen.

>>29683005>>29683030>>29683059>>29683083Why would brooklyn do this, its not like he gets to be manly even if hes older? Wouldnt make much of a difference

>>29683150Man's got a point.
>>29683150Because we can likely blast them aways if they ever show up?
So what, before we needed to hide from spies so much that even bra stuffing was horrible, but now we're willing to throw away our cover completely over disliking the disguise?>>29683150>debt collectorsWe just call up our tentacles and tell them to fuck off. Big woop
>>29683179Which would attract attention, defeating the point of the exercise. Also, they'd be going after someone they know is a demon, so victory would be far from garunteed.
>>29683150...we would have that target anyway, if not on us then on someone we care aboutthis makes no difference
>>29683150We're much better equipped to deal with it that any of our students. It'd be kinda irresponsible to let anyone but Mina or Ada be the little girl. And hell, it might give us a new world view.

>>29683281Don't you mean fuck everything all the time.
>>29683304Well, I like brooklyn's sexual orientation, so there goes half the world. Sorry not to conform to you're image of me.
>>29683304>>29683297well sorry, i just hate this big trend against the whole reason i like brooklyn as a characterbrooklyn gets flustered, is believable and established as a character that way, sand is good at presenting a flustered brooklyn and must enjoy it seeing how much it was done in the past, AND its right on the character sheet for okarians to be emotional like that
Alright, emotions seem to be running a little high right now and I need to head to the store, so I think I'll just call it here tonight.Plus there's only 17 or so posts left before thread death left
Im against ditching our disguise. If we're being followed then its a sure way to get discovered.
>>29683297What this man says.>>29683347>AND its right on the character sheet for okarians to be emotional like thatNo its not. That's been retconned precisely because it causes shitstorms like this.
>>29683347Meh it's the same arguments that run every other thread>My vision of brooklyn is the best>Why don't my vision win even when I samefag all the time>Ablublu
>>29683354thanks for the thread>>29683357no no, brooklyn being a bad motherfucker that always wins and never shows emotions is the way its supposed to be, even, no, ESPECIALLY when it doesnt make any in story sense for it to be that way
>>29683347This big trend started at the first thread.
>>29683393>>29683392Oh, look. Strawmen. How cute.

>>29683447No, I meant its always been pretty vocal. I should know, I've been vocal about it.
>>29683421>implying there is no samefag playing the questWhen activity jump up by 100 to 150% after sandact post and gives us option instead of letting us write in yes, I'll say there is someone who samefag.
>>29683447>you know what i mean, when the people whining about it got vocal enough to start pushing brooklyn out of characterNo, they've been continously trying to push Brooklyn in a certain direction for ages. Don't claim its OOC when people were trying to move in that direction literally from the beginning.
>>29683499well im not, there has been at least two other people agreeing with me about actually liking emotional brooklyn
Oh yes! With the poll still here, it seems the official result is... Sorcerer Brooklyn!
>>29683516it is OOC because brooklyn has not been like that for most of that time, then the character trait started changing>>29683535good, but not much of a surprise
>>29683529I'm one of them. Brooklyn is very fun when emotional and not in complete control. Sandact6 writes a very enjoyable petty Brooklyn while letting them still be good in serious situations.
>>29683529I never said anything about emotional Brooklyn though.>>29683535>implying we didn't have that discussion the first time we met with our study groupSandact, pls...
>>29683546>it is OOC because brooklyn has not been like that for most of that time, then the character trait started changingNope, he's been changing since the beginning. People have always wanted Brooklyn to gradually become more confident and we've been slowly moving in that direction from the beginning.
>>29683582>is not OOC because *OOC reasons*you really dont know what OOC is, do you
>>29683576I don't mind him being emotional, I don't like him being the buttmonkey, and there certainly is an aspect of that in him.
>>29683582>People have always been fine with Light/Dark/Fate/Space controlUntil some retard went and gave us water control for no reason.
>>29683607Okay, then he's slowly gaining experience and confidence through is adventures and maturing as a person.>>29683634Don't blame me for that. I argued against that rather strenuously.
>>29683634Water control was to give us better Tea Control. Since Brooklyn is ALL about Tea.
>>29683609i wouldnt say brooklyn was ever in real buttmonkey territory, more like just a bit dorky or something>>29683634rounded out skills arent so bad, and its not a big investment
>>29683663Santa Claus. Also, a couple of the worse social incidents get much closer than I'd like.
>>29683655Would have been cheaper to buy an extra level in tea brewing.
>>29683692Cheeper to buy an extra two levels. Though to be fair, that was before we went to DP.
>>29683689The Santa stuff never really came off as buttmonkey to me.
>>29683689>Santa Clausseriously? you're counting that? come on, dude>>29683692but with water control we also get resistance to the cold and such, and we are in supernaturally-colder-canada
>>29683729>but with water control we also get resistance to the cold and such, and we are in supernaturally-colder-canadaAmanda can make us a coat. Or we could pump endurance and get tougher.
>>29683729We could have bought cold resistant items at a later date.
>>29683748and a ton of other bonuses that come with a magic controltheres a reason they are more expensive than other skills
How about we talk about DP instead. lot of people have a ton of it so we might manage to do something productive.
>>29683765The only useful bonuses at basic is water breathing and the resistance which are both situational. Fate has far better bonuses along with a boost to our general abilities.
>>29683774I want us some more levels in space control. You can do some nasty shit combining our amazing little grenades and spacial distortions. Like making a bunch of shaped charges surround a poor sod from all sides, and detonating them.
>>29683837but basic is pretty cheap, i dont see why this is such a big problemactually, we could stand to get some more basic controls, theres no need to overspecialize
>>29683847How about we grab another level of space control, Seduction and Persuation (we have a meeting with a racist Belkerian eventually, our social stats need to be good). Also, lets grab some of our combat skills a bit too.>>29683884Oh god, not this again. Compaired to skills its very expensive and much less useful.
>>29683919that really depends on what we needskills are useful in very specific circumstances while controls have many different uses even at basic level
>>29683919>>29683847I'd prefer get fate for the bonus it would grant to our aether gathering actually.>>29683884Not this shit again
>>29683972If its a specific circumstance we use all the time, Like dodge, persuasion and seduction its probably.>>29683977Space would allow us to port back and forth from an easy aether spot.
>>29683972>that really depends on what we needright. And we don't need water, or any other basic control
>>29684036you may as well say that we dont need anything if youre gonna say thati mean, the quest will progress even if we never use DP again, wont it?
>>29684020>Easy Aether spot>TOI'm not saying that I'm against upgrading space Though I don't think there's anyone with space at average so I can't compare but at this point Fate gives us a decent access to food.
>>29684118Space teleportation is by familiarity with the spot, not distance. Moving back and forth to say, Amanda's workshop is easy.
>>29684118Maybe there's a way to use space for food too. Like an easy aether spot that's not in old TO.
>>29684147The problem is if teleportation is accessible at average or if it's a good or great spell.
For something concreteSpace to Average (160DP)Seduction to Good! (75)Persuasion to Good! (75)Dodge to Great (45)Willpower to Great! (45)(400/510)Thoughts?
>>29684228wait, arent we getting a control to average for free pretty soon
>>29684190we could always ask.
>>29684247We could. If we didn't want to get light to Great! for some strange reason. (Considering the DP value of the Great Upgrade is literally twice that of the Average upgrade we really have no reason to.)
>>29684285oh yeah, thats right
>>29684228Fine with me.
>>29684228That doesn't sound like a bad list. Supporting.
>>29684228If teleportation is withing average I'm fine with it, otherwise swap for Fate at basic
>>29684434yeah, this, i somehow doubt average space would let us easily teleport over a continent all the timeso probably fate
Weren't we waiting to destroy the draugr before giving more power to Brooklyn?
>>29684474Seeing as the Draugr isn't the only thing that is out to kill us this is retarded, don't forget it's alone and we're usually in group.
>>29684493Why not? It's just going to get stronger versions of what we have. Do we really want it teleporting all over the place or screwing with chances even more than us?
>>29684474From what I remember, the only way to kill the draugr is to kill whoever made it, and the dude who stole our corpse is the king of despair. I don't think we're going to be rid of it for a long time.
>>29684539Actually, that demon Duke might be able to kill it with her soul stealing sword.
>>29684539No, we worded that ritual really oddly if I remember right. The King of Despair is the person who was ultimately responsible for that happening, at the top of the chain of events. It's very probably that someone else was working for him, willingly or not, when they made the draugr.
>>29684539If rebecca win the opposed roll against his creator to prevent him from reincarnating it would be permanently dead too. But Sandact clearly want the Draugr to be a recurring vilain that level as we does.
>>29684434>>29684450We could swap for fate at basic, then have one of the twins or Leona learn a ritual that lets them take us back and forth to fort hope so we can fill up on Aether.
oh remember we need to increase axes so we can get more special attacks.
>>29685291Or we could keep creating our own that don't need weapon skills.
Anybody want me to do stuff for other characters?
>>29685419This, I wonder if we couldn't apply the soliogram beast casting ability to be given to our explosive soliogram and give them the annihilator beam. If we can mind control them, reduce the soliogram size and give them basic prediction ability through fate magic in addition to our ability to make mental maps of areas we'd have decent supports unit.
