OPENING>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DL5Yc2ag0M8Previously: A team of young rockets deal with the enforcers of Kanto-City's law interferring with their deliverance of true justice.A schism forms within the team, allowing for a delicate operation to suffer a vital error. They split to chase the shades of past crimes. One borne of a human weapon, and the other of a monster's interference. The murdered lie in Veridian wood, and the rockets report to their glorious leader whom nearly bites his tongue at the news of this breach. They are to find the beast by tomorrow, and they are dismissed he would say.A tired young rocket retires for a nap to be awoken many hours later with her team snatched away by the guard for a flimsy violation of law.The hound reports back, and tells her that the beast lies outside of the dome. With child-like naivete, they gear up and leave the dome for the first time amidst the night. What they find is a village under control by a monster.A young rocket falls victim to the assailant's hypnosis, her last thoughts of her friends...A defiant hound blazes his way to save the young rocket, her captor turning her against her allies. As the ash is burned to cinders, the only ones wholly unscathed are these two as the hellhound purges them with his unholy inferno. All that stand against humanity will be burned from the world, be it monsters or humans.Known characters>http://pastebin.com/k2xnqqvBMonster Index>http://pastebin.com/wxwgrCqbCharacter Sheet>http://pastebin.com/7CJx3gq1Twitter:>https://twitter.com/AoPHquestLore>http://pastebin.com/vy0a6Z9rSorry for being late, had to get something new set up in my room. >>29354452Reporting for ranger duty!
>>29354452Kill maim burn .....hugs?
>>29354452>The FalloutSo Devon killing these is a bad thing.
>>29354587Not necessarily. It may just mean that it was inevitable that contact with these people would result in something unsavory.
>>29354646Our mind is most likely going to be fix by someone who is a esper and they will know what happened especially that they were victims.
Back!Aright.Where did we leave off...
>>29354790Devon was running like a scared little girl from a Heracross with a restrained Ceru on his back and really starting to feel a little the worse for wear because of the arrowhead in his kidney
>>29354790Sleep powder, running away from Heracross.Ring a bell?
He's going to fall asleep again. We are never going to leave the rapevillage.
>>29354833>>29354790we also contemplating blowing the village's repel techProf said we'd use the volt orbs we have now and then we asked if the old ones be enough to explode or have enough charge to get us back to the domebut you were busy counting sheep
Might want to tweet that you've started.
>>29354903Nah let leave some of them alive so other Rangers can capture them alive.
>>29354903You could use the old ones, yet they may fizzle out instead of detonating correctly. It's a choice of screwing over the village 100% or having the charge to make it all the way back to the dome.
>>29354957>It's a choice of screwing over the village 100% or having the charge to make it all the way back to the dome. Are we still playing as Devon?Because there's no choice at all if we're Devon.Fuck this village
>>29354957>Have the charge to make it all way back to the domeLet's not forget they have nowhere to go.
>>29355001Devon has shown enough discipline in the past to be expected to complete the mission.
>>29354957I don't really fancy our chances on pulling off blowing up the repel tech and getting back to the dome. And if we use the old ones they might fizzle, and without the distraction that blowing up the tech might cause getting out will be difficult as hell.Head home.
>>29355072exactly my point.I'm just working on a different definition of "the mission" from you.
>>29354957WHAT IS THE VILLAGE POWERING ITS TECH WITH?BLOW IT UP USING THAT!
>>29354957Just heading home seems to be the best option.
>>29354957is there enough charge left for our repel tech with old volt orbs? (probably not).do we need both our repel techs on? If we just kept Ceru on us the whole way and switched out the 2 orbs, could we make it to the dome?
>>29355104Yeah! They stole tech that runs on volt orbs. Use their volt orbs to blow it up.
>>29355101Er, the explosion wouldn't take out the village, mind you. Just the repel shield. The Hypno could totally survive. And he's the most dangerous one there.
Why do we have to blow it up? Devon's smart. Why can't he just break that shit or disconnect it?
>>29355112>>29355104Did you forget that Heracross is still chasing us?Devon is also carrying Ceru so slowing puuts them both in danger.
>>29355143Yeah, but if the village is gone, is Hypno gonna stick around? And if Hypno flees, Ceru might snap out of it. Which would be good, because Devon is flagging.
Ash and powder drifts through the night air, giving the resplendent visage of volcanic ash billowing through the wood from the hellfire that's begun to rage in the treeborne village. The harsh beat of your adversary's wings hums as it circles around to target you again, out for blood. Its hum draws closer as you lug the dead, stiff weight of your commanding "officer." The stupid cat muffles out protest now and again, gritting her teeth against her binding, the only thing keeping her from moving being her overly tired state."Shut up," You growl, breathing heavy, erupting flame from your maw now and again to burn away the pestilent powder that the moths have brought with them.Distant roars signal that other monster must have caught wind of the fire as well. This place won't stay stafe for long, yet that bug is after you. It's likely to catch you in the open, at the very least you have some sanctuary in cover.Damn that thing to hell, it chased you all over this damn village and now it's on you again, only this time it's beyond angry with those burns. Aren't things supposed to fuck off when you burn them? What a damn pest.It might make for good research material though, if that strength could be conferred to a ranger, right along with that ignorance it its condition, it'd be a powerful boon worth studying. Giovanni may even commend you for bringing it back in.There's hope that the powder gets to it, but its rapid wingbeats nullify the chances of that happening.> Run home with the cat, take the chance, the bug should let up or you could slip away. Smog could be a good cover.> Leaving the cat here for now could be just as well, so you can double back and detonate the repel tech. Volt Orb systems are unstable after all. doesn't take a genious to mess it up. Though you could get caught in the blast with how big this grid is.> Fight the bug, it's your only way out, and if you disable it, you'll have anm awesome present to offer Boss.> (Other)
>>29355154Hm... I suppose we can ask how long that would take and how effective it'd be.
>>29355143>>29355154>>29355129>>29355174All we have to do is get to the boss. At that point their village would be screwed.
>>29355178>[X] (Other)Spit fire at its wings as you retreat. If it can't fly its reduced to legs.
>>29355174>is Hypno gonna stick around? That's the question, isn't it? Why rely on an uncertainty like that?>>29355178> Run home with the cat, take the chance, the bug should let up or you could slip away. Smog could be a good cover.Let's vamoose!
>>29355178>>[X] Fight the bug, it's your only way out, and if you disable it, you'll have anm awesome present to offer Boss.>>[X] (Other)>its rapid wingbeats nullify the chances of that happening.Rip it's wings off?
>>29355178>[x] Run home with the cat, take the chance, the bug should let up or you could slip away. Smog could be a good cover.as much as I want to burn this place to the ground, we'll have to settle for later, when us and backup come for potential round 2 or at least look it over for clues on the hows and whys
>>29355178[x] Run home with the cat, take the chance, the bug should let up or you could slip away. Smog could be a good cover.Escape means victory
>>29355178> Run home with the cat, take the chance, the bug should let up or you could slip away. Smog could be a good cover.Cheese it, we're not in the best shape, and smog should help us.
>>29355182Volt Orb Systems are delicate.Outright unplugging the system will cause them to detonate due to overcharge. It'd require separating the orbs- however many. or however large they are, to shut off the power source without detonation. It's part of why Vermillion is a specialized quarter of primarily electricians with their rangers as a vanguard over those vital systems.
>>29355178I assume the Heracross is currently at 25-40% health. We are really tired, however, and we just don't have the stamina to take it out for good. It feels greedy to try.Leaving Ceru behind to take down the Repel Tech seems stupid, though, when the fire is doing the job already.I vote we book it double time, gtfo of here, now and get back. The information we have is too important to lose or risk losing.
>>29355214The Hypno is still around.
>>29355203I think the gust from its wings would extinguish our flames?
>>29355242Fair enough then. Seconding this>>29355244
>>29355213>>29355221>>29355229Terrible idea. The bug is specifically after us and only us with disregard for everything else. It's faster and has more energy.
>>29355256>>29355203Yes, it's been using the gusts to beat them down.Heracross is stronk.
>>29355201They'd probably evacuate but depending on their population size and how long it would take the Rockets to mobilize, we might be able to catch the tail end of the refugees or force their evac to be rushed and sloppy so they leave important evidence/files/etc behind.
>>29355275I think that's what the smog is for, hoping we'll evade its notice?I do agree that that thing is not going to stop chasing us though.
>>>29355178Geurilla warfare(2): (+2) to rolls made under cover of wood. How many ranks does Devon have?
>>29355302Also they might leave the repel tech itself behind? That stuff is expensive, if it's intact then Team Rocket could reclaim this village as an extra base.
>>29355302We have Sabrina who is insanely strong, capable of teleportation, and can easily track them down.
>>29355358we already have repel techsumming the don't practice scorched earth policy (or it doesn't get sufficient time to burn) new base could possibly happen...>>29355425remind me, how does she feel about the Rocket?
>>29355332Ah, Devon should have 2 ranks, though he'd need to get pretty close to surprise the bug. It's fairly good at fighting though, don't know if you'd want to hide behind a tree it might just smash down either. Sanna and Goldie woulda been good here.
>>29355491Wouldn't it also apply to using the wood as a cover? Evasion and the like?
>>29355474>remind me, how does she feel about the Rocket?Never specified. You know how she feels about monster-rangers though.
>>29355491Yes yes they would.Engaging without a crew was a bad move. For now, we're focused on getting back home it seems.
>>29355178[x] Run home with the cat, take the chance, the bug should let up or you could slip away. Smog could be a good cover.>>29355491So we had the perfect team for the job.
>>29355491But in a forest, Heracross might be grounded and not be able to get airborne easily. And we're crazy enough to burn the forest down.
>>29355532Heh, wonder what she would think of the "son."
>>29355547Sanna is the capture expert, yes. Restraining the Heracorss would have been easier with her.And Goldie is psychic. Always useful.
>>29355547Ceru as Sniper/gunnerGoldie to befuddle and confuse the heracross.Devon to burn it and have immunity to hypno's pure psi attacks.Sanna's sleep powder and vines to safely knock out the villagers and make the Heracross drowsy/ snare it.Yeah, you guys would've stomped this part.Anyway.I'm seeing a lot of pure running with smog and smoke as cover.Shall we get to it?
>>29355583Huh.I just realized, if Sabrina thinks RANGERS are mutants. Wait till she hears what this Hypno is doing with the Esper name huh?
>>29355624Please do. Already brought out my whiskey.God why did everything go so wrong...

>>29356371You mean for Ceru or Devon?Cause Crytten's final form will make Ceru flight-capable.And I half expect Devon to pick up a charmander and take it up to charizard sometime.
>>29356371>>29355790Oh hey. This reminds me. Do Psychics count as flying when they're floating up in the air?
You languish for a moment as you take in the smells of this place. The fire, the ash, the smoke, the embers, the blood, the smell of cooked beetle. Like roasted almonds actually. You'll eat a whole cup-full from Fuschia when you get back to the dome. This whole ordeal's given you a severe craving to eat them out of spite. The cat knows a person right? Or maybe that newbie Bat's good for something?Taking a deep breath, you let your inner fire roar and emit a thick poisonous smog, ripe with your pain inducing toxins to intermingle with any flames it comes across. The important part is that the smoke is dark as a shadow, and covers your escape as you run through it with your useless commander. She'll be fine once she stops convulsing in pain from the foul stuff. That is, if she breathes it in. Better that than dying to some indignant rape-beetle that's out for blood.Your body reacts to the path you've already plotted out, trotting along the dirrt path of the village dipping past a house, your eyes take in a snap of the area, the traitors throeing water from a pond to smother your flames. They reel with fear as they see you, screaming things like "Monster!" and "Outsider!" at you. Initially one pokes at you with a spear, another throws water at you.The water pisses you off more than the spear as you shift to the side, slipping by the point as though it were a charging nido, blasting embers in the peasant's face, and advancing upon the water bearer, using him as a stepping stool as your canine claws tear into his flesh, giviving you the lift to kick off for extra ground. The man screams in agony, as a woman calls for the guardian. With a retch, you spew more smog to silence them into a hacking fit. The convulsions will take them soon. Who knows if a human'll last? Or how long.
The hum of that monster's wingbeats draw near, and you slip around a tree, spewing more smog to hide your path, and casting out a halfhearted flamethrower top the side to give it a false lead. The sound of a tree being torn from the ground is heard some ways back, and then a frustrated, hissing roar as it smashes its new toy around. THe insolent things stupid beyond words. How is that thing supposed to be a "guardian?"This place is starting to go down, though the fires are coming back under control.More people you pass seem to be getting lazy from breathing in the powders, your burning breath the only thing defending you from its influence, yet your vicious still blurs, and your body begins to feel like lead.Your mad dash eventually takes you out of the village, and into the rest of the wood, yet with no bearing on your location. You snarl and keep going forward even as other monster draw closer to investigate the fire.Shifting, you trigger your index, and interface it to turn your repel tech on as you sleep around them, breaking sight and effectively disappearing.Your vision blurs again and you leg misses a push for a jump, unresponsive where it should have been.
You fall forward, crashing into the ground and you instinctively try to roll it off, the foliage cutting and snaring you with whatever little cuts they can manage through your uniform.Ceru tumbles away from you, her horn getting stuck in a tree even as she groans with frustration against her brace or whatever that damn cheat-device is.You rise and y0ou find your arms starting to fail you, your body refusing to respond to you. With quickening breath, you panic. No, not here, you can't fall asleep here, why won't your body move? What could it be? Why?You feel the squelch of your wound as it stains through your uniform, the bleeding having only quickened from your mad dash. It's not enough to do this though, so...Could you have been poisoned? That's the worst thing, that's the worst thing that could've happened, you need to neutralize it.No antidote, you'll need pecha, leaves or berries, some kind of herb, even if it's bitter.. Damnit, damnit. That whore, that stupid whore must've done it. You bet she prepared that arrow in silent resolve to screw you over. Or those moths, damn things came for you, to make sure you wouldn't leave here alive.
Screw them. Screw them all.Your arms tremble beneath your weight as your vision blurs once more, cold sweat beading upon your brow from the illness. You need to make it back, you can't be another dead ranger, a rocket no less. Boss would write you off as another one for the obituary, no one would visit you at the damned Grave Spire. That's if they recover your body too.You claw at the ground, swallowing hard as you grit your teeth, pushing the tears back. You fought, and it's hard. Why the fuck should this need to happen to you.Water slips from your eyes, and you look over to Cerulean as she barely struggles. She's only doing that to break free from that thing. She's going to kill you as soon as she does. She's a traitor now too, just like the rest of them.If you're going to die here, she'll need to die as well. For the rockets, for Kanto City. You could leave your index, they'd find it and they'd know what happened there.> Don't give up, there might be pecha, or some other way to neutralize the poison...> Kill Cerulean, she's a threat now. No going back, she has to die or she'll kill others for that.. thing.> Speak your eulogy into your Index. Time for some final words.> (Other)

You grit your teeth and growl with all of your fury and desperation, your inner flame rolling black in the back of your maw.No way.Now way in Reverse are you going to just die here like some kind of whelp. Screw this stupid brain of yours, killing Ceru won't grant you anything, she can be saved and so can you. Even if she ends up putting a half meter of ice inside of you it doesn't matter, you need to save her. You'll save her and be a big damn hero of the rockets for saving this suckling babe that's become Boss's favorite.Damn straight.A fruit falls from the tree that Cerulean crashed into, a berry small and round, hard too from the looks of it, and it rolls toward you, almost as though Arceus himself has presented it to you.You grab the fruit, squeezing it hard. You don't recognize what it is, and it's green. Not Pecha or Oran... not even Cheri. It could just make you worse, or it could do something for you.No time to experiment with it, down the hatch!Gnawing into it, its juices explode into your mouth as a medley of flavors, that nearly overpowers you.You feel the weakness continue to set in due to the advanced stages of the paralysis. You can only hope that the thing did something for you as you lose consciousness.______________________>Early Bird! You awaken a short time later, the Cat bitch still stuck in the tree, barely breathing from that thing she's wearing. You feel the numbness subside, and find yourself able to stand already, your monster physiology already metabolizing the berry. It goes so much slower for humans, one of the perks of being a ranger, or even a candidate.
Your numbness, sleepiness, and whatever other poisons might've gotten into your systems have subsided entirely. Your wound's even healed a bit, no longer bleeding. Your index confers that ten minutes have passed, and you've got about an hour and thirty-four minute's charge left on your R-tech.You'd need to check the cat for hers, though it's likely that "brace" is draining her Volt Orb something fierce...> Swap out your Volt-orb.> Swap out her Volt-orb> De-activate her Macho Brace> Carry on as you are back to Kanto City> (Other)The fire from the village still carries on through the night, the sounds of nocturnal monsters having ceased in the area. You're in pretty excellent condition.

Guys, Lum trees have 1-5 berries depending on whether gen 3 or 4. Getting any others would be vital considering how both Devon and Ceru are exhausted and we are in the middle of hostile territory.
>>29357473>Turn up the shadowruns. It isn't over yet.For the love of godWe realise that we fucked it all up. Don't kick us while we're down. We've learned our lesson. Maybe it could fix the cat?You glare at the tree for a moment. It's worth a shot so that she'll stop being a useless piece of dead weight. With a jump, you hook your claws up onto the branches, snatching around five of them and shoving them in the pocket of your jacket. You clamber down from the tree, stopping only briefly to take another picture of the idle beetle as you take another note under the file."Inactive at night. Haven't seen it in the day. Grows large and can tear a tree from the ground."You set on the ground, and pull the cat out, letting her fall to the loamy ground of the summer wood."Exercise caution, they can develop advanced combat methods on par with rangers, and may exhibit hyperaggressive behavior when threatened. A class when under duress, otherwise it may be docile enough for D as it'd take an idiot to mess with this thing."You cast a backward glance to the thing. Might be worth capturing for the Cinnabar labs. An autopsy would definitely be appreciated by the monster labs.Looming over the cat, you see that her breathing is indeed quite shallow, her chest barely moving.Taking her pulse, proves difficult as she struggles against her tech-induced lockup, veins bulging beneath her fatty cold flesh."Calm down you fat bitch, I'm just seeing if you're alright.""M-nstr." You hisses between her teeth, her breathing a bit harder now, though forced."M-nster, klld thm. wy..." She flexes her claws, almost catching you in the hand as you withdraw at that, hands raised."Hey now, settle down Ice Queen. You get hit in the head or something or have you always been this stupid?" You begin to sneer,"I killed them because they're traitors, and I heard your transmission. They're a bunch of brainwashed dogs that need to be put down."She growls through her teeth again, straining to open her mouth to shoot you, as you leer closer, shoving a berry into her mouth and chopping her mouth closed, tipping her head back so that she swallows reflexively.
>>29358112But we don't want to kill her? Also why not swap out the battery?Or not feed her a berry?I think we only had the idea to feed her a berry after the QM told us to panic.
"There you go, get over it and let's go."Checking her Index, you see that her power's running low, ~20 minutes left vs yours that lies at just about an hour and thirty. That brace must be a pretty cruddy drain on her battery.> Replace it.> Wait for the berry to take effect.> Pick her up and start running.
>>29358179Wait for the berry to take effect? She's still hostile.
>>29358179>> Wait for the berry to take effect.> Pick her up and start running.

I find it rather hilarious. Professor wanted us to use Shadowruns. But we're using them on him, not the situations.
With the cat squirming from the berry you just forced down her throat, you unzip her Ranger's Jacket, minding her disgusting fat. You see the Volt Orb casing pulsating right at at her sternum, resting in that little spot, a small direct reading showing that the power's running low.You unlock the mechanism holding the orb in place and sealing it off from the elements and reach into her bag for the other, eyeing her carefully, as she tries to gag, regurgitate the berry that you'd just forced her to swallow."Just a sec, fattie. We're gettin' you back to the dome."You grab the volt orb, its induction interface tingling across the surface of your skin from its activity, pulling it out, you force the other one in as your system shuts down briefly, jumping back online in the next moment with the new orb. That's all it took though, for her to bring her hand to your throat, locked point-blank, and snarling as her body locks up again, claw pressing as her palm-gun spasms dryly. She just tried to shoot you. This close, that would've been it, wouldn't it?You smirk at that and pry her fingers away from your neck, rubbing at the cold traces of blood that the cat's claws left."Really want my blood that bad? Save it for the dome you stupid piece of crap. Hopefully an esper can fix you, or else we'll need- I'll need to put you down myself.""M-nstr..." She hisses through her teeth with a spite unlike her.A swift backhand puts her back in her place, and you hoist her sorry body over your shoulder, setting you a little off balance due to the compensation.Swapping out your orb with a wider delay, you set off once more, wasting no more time here. It's time to return to base.

So now this horrible experience is coming to an end. I'm expecting a lot of shouting and humiliation to come out of this. Something this big and long term is gonna be a PR nightmare for the Rangers. Now that I think about it, what do you think are the chances that Sabrina or even Agatha knew that Hypno infiltrated the dome?
Rolled 556499767484955137===================================It's a tiring 2 hour run later, and getting lost for maybe another half at the ashen perimeter of the dome. Repel-tech's so strong out here that it's hard to even look for it properly, that is, given how large the dome is.It takes a solid effort to move forward until you touch the glass, and following from there until you find the entrance.Normally rangers take a neutralizing device with them when returning to the dome, a Silph Scope as it's called, but the Cat forgot to grab one from requisitions. Likely couldn't tell them that she was going to leave the dome. Figures as much. The Ashen Plains out here don't really offer any cover, nor do they really harbor any monsters.Firestarters are a bit rarer than most unless it's one of those damn wild-fire bugs, or your own species that lies a distance away as you've been told.Eventually you find the opening, and get let in by the guards standing inside at their approval. The cat's come around, though you still don't trust her not to be a bit kill-happy after the previous stunt.Decontamination sprays you down, sparing the dome whatever bacteria you might've brought in from the outside.Man, fuck the outside. The guards eye you over, and you're eventually processed. being made responsible for a report at Giovanni's word should you return.Question is, what will you initially tell him?>Cerulean's a horrible squad leader, I should've led.> We found the monster, though it got away/> It had a village of traitors, we need to purge it.> There's an unidentified beetle near there, really strong.> Found some awesome berries.> (Other)

>>29359529> We found the monster, though it got away/> It had a village of traitors, we need to purge it.> There's an unidentified beetle near there, really strong.> Found some awesome berries.

>>29359529>>[x] A village of traitors, it has multiple high level hostile espers and their thralls. It's a fucking mess out there, boss.
>>29359529> We found the monster, though it got away/Mission first, mention that it is an Esper, we found its parents, a monster and its human wife, and the one who did the stuff in town was their child. Bring up that the Hypno messed with Ceru's head. Then the rest of the stuff about the village. This place needs a purging.
>>29359529>[x] We found the monster, though it got away/>[x] It had a village of traitors, we need to purge it.>[x] There's an unidentified beetle near there, really strong. Objectives, mate.Always focus on whether the primary objective is complete before bitching. We are professional.

>>29359529[x]All the above + there maybe useful information in her head.
>>29359612This. We need to sell this thing as a shitshow in order to get approval for a real stomping.
>>29359609Cue the rampaging Heracross enter from left stage.
>>29359617I like this....did we ever actually see the half-breed that was sneaking into the dome?
>>29359529>>Cerulean's a horrible squad leader, I should've led.>> We found the monster, though it got away/>> It had a village of traitors, we need to purge it.>> There's an unidentified beetle near there, really strong.>> Found some awesome berries.

>>29359529> We found the monster, though it got away> It had a village of traitors, we need to purge it.> There's an unidentified beetle near there, really strong.> Found some awesome berries. The boss won't listen to anything bad about his favourite stupid cat, he is like all the rest we have to prove that she was terrible as a leader and take her spot by showing why we are the top dog
>>29359648still on fire
>>29359617I agree with this, Ceru is a liability right now and needs to be looked over
>>29359529>> We found the monster, though it got away/>> It had a village of traitors, we need to purge it.highest priority firstall of it should be reported though, including ceru sucking and devon's self-promotion, because lolDevon.maybe he'll get dressed down if he is disrespectful enough
>>29359529>> We found the monster, though it got away/>> It had a village of traitors, we need to purge it.>> There's an unidentified beetle near there, really strong.>> Found some awesome berries.
>>29359609Godfuckingdamnit the diplomancing wasn't the problem.Splitting the party was.
>>29359685I'm sure Devon can point out both of these tactical errors
>>29359662Note she get the most shit done.
>>29359529First and foremost>Mention that Cerulean probably had an esper mess around with her head
>>29359685going into the fucking village was the problem
>>29359529> (Other)Espers are a fucking menace and we need more Evil type rangers to deal with them.
>>29359709This is important, also TRAITOR VILLAGE, fuck huge beetle, awesome berries, hypnotized got away and could fucking speak
>>29359717You mean Devon's "let's leave right now in the middle of the night and not tell anyone?"Pretty sure he was so strongly in favor of that course of action, that he got a 20 on his persuasion roll.
>>29359706However, remember that diplomancing resulted in us getting information that prevented from hanging ourselves by directly killing the esper cumdumpster. We wouldn't need diplomancing if Devon was with us.
>>29359717The problem was the rolls, really.I mean, I swear. Back in the forest, if the rolls had fucked us over at the bee drill nest, everyone would have been pissed off and some idiots would be mouthing off at everyone that we should have ignored the beedrill nest. The decisions were sound enough, the results were just unlucky.
>>29359744Yes, this too.Ceru's going to get slapped with "Bad Decision Maker" and Devon's going to get slapped with "Poor Impulse Control".
>>29359744at that point, the village was an unknown we assumed the killer acted alone....lets just stop this now. its over, we're back in the dome and both Ceru and Devon are not dead, and Goldie and Senna have a good enough excuse to get off the hook
>>29359753i think Devon would blame the diplomancing, though.
>>29359744He wanted to go into the village you numpty.
>>29359753Agreed. Nothing we did is something I would call an outright bad decision. Splitting the party was probably the worst thing we did, and that had decent reasoning behind it. Other than that, everything that went really wrong (Failed Mind probe, fighting Hypno, fighting Heracross) was all shit dice.We failed that ghost dream thing way earlier too. It wasn't super important, but goddamn did we fail every fucking dice roll or what. The only thing we really passed well was the double-crit on our run from the dome.
>>29359781He doesn't even know about that, though. We only managed to switch on the radio part way through. We weren't even attempting diplomacy at that point. We were asking the woman questions of what we could get away with, then we got attacked by the Hypno who, after disabling us, offered us an ultimatum.
>>29359781He didn't know about the diplomancing. Therefore, we cannot say anything about it until during or after debriefing.
>>29359822>split had decent reasoning...You lost me there. Confronting the lone esper was also a shitty choice.
>>29359822It's almost funny, you know. The rolls we didn't crit fail? We had to burn T or C to fix so we didn't.Man, the dice really hate this quest don't they?
>>29359858The woman? It wasn't a shitty choice. She wasn't aggressive at all, which meant that it was a clear avenue for us to gather information. Speaking to her allowed us to glean information on what had happened. It was risky, but it had its rewards.
>>29359865This whole mission would've been way more fun if we hadn't crit failed at every. God damn. Turn where it counted.
>>29359883...we did not know that when we were spying on her, bud.
>>29359529Where exactly is the fat cat right now? Are we still carrying her chunky ass around?
>>29359858>>29359883It even had the chance of freeing her from mind-control if it wasn't for that crit.
>>29359914The worst part is, these are d100s.I mean, god damn. Crits aren't suppose to be this against us.
>>29359883>She wasn't aggressive at allShe was psychically stabbing us in the brain the entire time. Sure she wasn't getting up in our face or being physical, but she was not non-aggressive.
I hope the boss takes it easy on us>argument for praisefound hostile villageDanger epser monstercrossbreeding (RAPE)learned about the killer's originnew speciesDidn't sellout her teammatethis mission went WAY above our payscale fast>arguments againstgot half of squad arrested under-prepared last minute expedition going into the villagegetting mind fuckedprobably just be swept under the rug to have EXTERNAL ENEMY FORCES CONSPIRING TO KILL YOU AND STEAL OUR WOMEN! pro Rocket propaganda
>>29359883>She wasn't aggressive at all>she tried to mind cuddle usAdmittedly she didn't try very hard but still.
>>29359904We didn't realize she was a esper either.
>>29359930>new speciesMultiple. Both the beetles and the esper monsters were unknown before.
>>29359930Basically. We did good, even if it was coupled with bad.
>>29359904Know what? That she was a source of information? She lived at the village. A good a source as any.Or do you mean that she was not aggressive? That's even easier to reason out. She didn't attack us immediately and she actually communicated to us what she was going to have to do.>>29359927You misunderstand. When I say aggressive, I mean the 'killing' variety.
>>29359930Time to get Duke Nukem
>>29359930>Above our payscaleTHANK FUCK SOMEONE REALIZES THISShit man, this was our first mission outside the dome. Talk about unfair as shit.
>>29359883>She wasn't aggressive at allI distinctly remember her first reaction towards us was clouding our minds and thinking about killing us.
>>29359946She decided against killing us.
>>29359946>You misunderstand. When I say aggressive, I mean the 'killing' variety.Whether or not they're going to kill you shouldn't be the deciding factor when you're dealing with psychics. She basically told us right to our face that she was going to reprogram us to go lie to the dome.
>>29359930And for Devon pluses are not dying and not letting Ceru die.Not sure how to score "killing a bunch of brainwashed civilians, but not the dangerous Esper pokemon and its super-strong guardian"
You submit your initial report to be forwarded directly to boss for review prior to your actual arrival. You mention Cerulean being compromised, the village you found with Esper threats and the identity of the infiltrator/murderer as a human/monster crossbreed. You omit the giant insect that impeded you in the initial report, that detail is unnecessary, boss needs the important points. The killer esper was not alone.Traitors have been living outside of the dome.A human traitor bred with a monster. The metals of the mission were not specifically found.Cerulean may in fact be in league with them. Or under Esper influence. -get her looked at.With that, it'll be you seeing the boss first as the guards call for an Esper's assistance in fixing the cat's head. You and the boss. Just the two of you, and you can say whatever you want about this mission. You bear a kind of smirk when you realize that. Last 24 hours have been shit. But this? This is delicious.====================================
>>29359964>>29359966Yes, fine, but she didn't. She showed hesitation. She was non-aggressive in that respect.>>29359982And what was our objective in speaking to her? Not to "diplomance" her, but to gather information.
Cerulean biggest problem is that she overworked herself. She tried to get too much done in too quickly.
>>29359958This was our first mission PERIOD.Can we give props to Lilac, since she really got the ball rolling?
>>29359958Yeah, this shit got really, really serious, really fast. We were just supposed to investigate some stolen metals, and then we started running into bodies, and the mind-rape victims, and that was all before leaving the dome. Our opposition for most of the mission was a incredibly dangerous esper and an unbelievably strong bug monster. Heracross threw a fucking building INTO THE DISTANCE. Hypno had literally dozens of victims....we never did find that half-breed though.
>>29360001I can think of 10,000 ways to say "This entire mission was complete bullshit, and you should be happy we're even ALIVE after that shit" but hey.Go for it Devon
>>29360005yes but if push came to shove and the Hypno told her to stab us repeatedly she'd do it.She drank the kool-aid anon. It would take years of therapy and conseling, not a hug and brief heart to heart conversation.
>>29360001>"Ceru a shit, I'm the best. Me. Devon. Stupid fat bitch got rekt by some slavebitch while I was going toe to toe with Fury in the form of a giant Beetle. I should lead."
>>29360041I like to think that was his report verbatim. written in crayon
>>29360030>She drank the Kool-aidEveryone there didEVERYONEEVEN THE KIDSThere was absolutely no civilians at that village. Each and every one is hostile.
>>29360041Hey it's not just us.You don't think he has some choice words for Sanna using sleep powder on a guard and then... failing to do anything else of importance? And Goldenrod being such a shit Esper he literally got arrested for it?
>>29360077crude drawings, with glaring factual inaccuracies
>>29360041>Devon conveniently forgets that Ceru actually wanted to leave the village to report back>Instead of his stubborn ass being the only reason we went inside because of crits>Forgets all that bullshitI hate Devon again.
>>29360030Yeah, but.....we weren't trying to counsel her? It was information gathering.
>>29360097for some reason, I think that Giovanni isn't going to believe everything Devon says 100%
>>29360097Also forgets to mention that he and Sanna didn't find all that much information, us and Goldie pulled up a fair lot in our investigation.
>>29360097Considering that if he's irritating, Giovanni will bust him down a few chops...
>>29360097When did Ceru claim she wanted to leave?
>>29360097You hate the anons who want Devon to act like that.
>>29360097Esper are going to be our mind they'll know everything...
>>29360113All the more reason for Devon to exaggerate like fuck
>>29360126she initially wanted to go backthen Devon said nothen we pussied out cuz he rolled well
>>29360126Did you forget anon?We voted to report back to the dome after some VERY LIGHT recon. From a tree I think. And Devon got a crit to say "Fuck no, I smell humans"So we just went with it.
Oh god, he's never going to shut up about this. Everyone else messed up or got messed up, and his only error (leaving those fucking kids alive) was something that no one else saw. His ego trip is going to be unbearable.>And that's when Squad Leader Cerulean, full of cowardice and mind-control, turned traitor and attacked yours truly. Luckily, I'm good enough that I not only subdued her traitorous butt, but also performed a stunning tactical retreat from the village.
>>29360134One wonders why espers aren't used to handle debriefings?>>29360138We never did that, though. We were rolling while deciding what to do. Since we all saw that his roll was better, everyone pretty much just voted to go along with him into the village without voicing any sort of protest.
>>29360089Something like this
anyone else think that Ceru might gain slight crush on Devon due to Devon saving her or is it just me
>>29360155>One wonders why espers aren't used to handle debriefings?Wouldn't work with Devon anyway.
>>29360138>>29360139Can you find me a quote from the previous threads?
Rolled 76>>29360160Just you hopefully.
>>29360155I'm fairly certain Ceru voiced protest. But Devon just said "Nah I'm goin in" And she said "O-Okay, b-but only for a minute!"
>>29360160She currently believes more than ever that he is a complete monster, thanks to a combintion of brainwashing and Devon being a complete monster
>>29360172I'm way too lazy to go get it, but I'm fairly certain it happened.
>>29360142Not necessarily. Devon may be arrogant, but that doesn't mean he's not honorable. At least, whether or not he's a guy who tries to undermine others through words or if he's more pragmatic and lets results speak for themselves hasn't been established yet.>>29360158Oh god. That'd be adorable.>>29360160You're just shipping.>>29360181She didn't. That is to say, we didn't.
>>29360160no, because he is going to be a huge dick about it and make it impossible to be grateful.
>>29360191We initially just took some pictures of the village. Then Devon told us he wanted to investigate it further and we accpeted. We never told him "no".
>>29360190Which is to say, normal Ceru might understand Devon's actions, even if she didn't like them, but thanks to Hypno's work, she sees the monster-fuckers as actual people.Gonna take a long time to sift through that mental damage.
>>29360190>She currently believes more than ever that he is a complete monster, thanks to a combintion of brainwashing and Devon being a complete monsterShe doesn't believe anything. She's just been brainwashed.>>29360191God.>>29360172>You give Devon a slow nod, looking him deep in the eyes," Alright, we'll go inside. If there are humans." You look away, squinting to see through the hazey field of the repel-tech. "We need to know what's going on in there.">You avert your eyes and take a look at the large shiny bug from before. "Can we take pictures of that first though? We haven't seen it before.">Devon blinks and follows your vision," Right, that thing. I got a bad feeling from it earlier. It's strong. really damn strong. I snapped a shot of it though, archived that it likes to suck the sap from trees. Don't worry about it.">Devon rears up and leaps onto another tree, closing in on the village,"Let's go. They should be less aware if it's from above.">You thought that you were giving the orders here, biting the inside of your cheek softly, you taste a bit of copper in your mouth Your teeth are way too sharp.>Following after him, you enter the village at its upper level.Ceru never protested.
>>29360158Giovanni's thoughts:CERULEAN: Probably useless as anything but a "face".DEVON: Completely insane. Only unleash when you need everything on fire.
>>29360142I think the boss is smart enough to separate fact from fiction.Ceru might get interviewed when her brains get fixed>>29360160more like severe guilt complex for failures/night terrors of psychic rape monster
>>29360220I guess that would be dice scaring us then huh?Man that's shitty...
>>29360254>CERULEAN: Probably useless as anything but a "face".She's useless for that as well because she opted for the full monstermode rip n tear implants errywhere.
>>29360237Was definitely a dice scare then. That's a shame.
>>29360254Honestly, he's probably pleasantly surprised at how well this mission has gone so far. No Rangers have died so far, they got good intel on a pressing matter and dealt some damage.
>>29359939>>29359930And the berries
>>29360267Yeah we let it cow us into just going with the flow instead of letting Devon beat us in a debate.
MISSION COMPLETEXP: 0+2 Tenacity (battle to the end vs Hypno)-4 Tenacity (Struggle to stay alive with the Macho Brace while nearly dead)-2 Charm (MUH TRAUMA)+1 Ingenutiy (Learning to ghosts)-1 Ingenuity (This whole thing made everyone dumber.)
>>29360277Not necessarily. She's a good speaker.
>>29360073Buh-buh-buh muh libral feelings!Really though, the idiots who want to diplomance everything are also the idiots who don't realize that the world doesn't abide by Western standards of civilization, rules of war, or morality. They're the ones who scream about collateral damage and killing kids in Vietnam/Iraq/Afghanistan when the Gooks/Hadjis were hiding in civilian buildings, using kids as walking bombs, using child soldiers, and blowing themselves up because it would kill a few Americans. These diplomance wannabes literally cannot wrap their head around the fact that EVERYONE in that village, including women and children, were not only hostile, but trying to kill us.The universal language is not empathy...it's not understanding...it's violence.Everyone, and everything, understands violence and pain.Everyone understands power and displays of power. That's why when we go the diplomacy route with Iran or North Korea....we don't get shit done. Because it's seen as weak. It's seen to them as us showing that we're not strong enough. It's a fundamentally different world view.
>>29360254More like lacks the experience to be useful.
>>29360330Pretty sure Macho Brace can't reduce Tenacity.
>>29360338Er, are you angry that people tried to speak with the woman?
>>29360338The only one they tried to kill was Devon.
>>29360354We had to spend tenactiy to train with it on. I deducted tenacity to continue to breath with it on while already exhausted and covered in stun spore / sleep poweder.
>>29360338>Implying I was upset about killing kidsNiggah I don't give a shit. They're the ones that picked up the bow and arrow. Fuck them straight to Reverse
>>29360360I think he's bothered that Devon didn't stick murder the family before they stuck him in the kidney
>>29360381And I'm pretty sure that's after he started lighting them on fire.
>>29360382>We had to spend tenactiy to train with it on. I deducted tenacity to continue to breath with it on while already exhausted and covered in stun spore / sleep poweder.then I call bullshit because she was quick enough to try and skewer Devon in the jugular despite that -4 tenacity
>>29360336Any of the unmodded espers would be better for it. They don't penalties for monster implants and they have mind fuckery to fall back on.
>>29360394But it wasn't compassion, we thought they were already choking to death or were generally beneath our notice.
>>29360415why are you even arguing this?
>>29360415She tried. She failed the roll, as would be expected of someone with incredibly low tenacity.
>>29360338Now it's a party.
>>29360417To bad nobody want to go for Milotic.
>>29360432pretty sure it wasn't tenacity.actually i don't think tenacity would be counted for a hypnotized person
>>29360338>Buh-buh-buh muh libral feelings!>>>/pol/Leave the politics, or get out.
>>29360417Yes, but remember who trains all the espers. And how they come out afterward.
>>29360432We've had to burn enough stats during all this.I really don't think we deserve to lose more. Also, 0 XP? I call bullshit. That was a fucking experience if I ever saw one.
>>29360451Yes, just look at Alexis. She's a delinquient
>>29360457damn straight. Next time we're calling for a tactical orbital laser strike and fuck the civilian casualties
>>29360457I think Ceru should be about the same for stats. but she should definitely get a load of XP. Experience isn't just successes.
>>29360457Ever heard of learning from your failures.
>>29360477>space laser is fired>Deoxys notices and decides to establish contact>space virus kills everyoneThanks, Devon.
>>29360465He's saying Alexis has all the charisma of a dead frog.Goldenrod isn't much better. Possibly worse.
>>29360484Completely agree. I mean ,we burned a lot of stats (and personally I think Ceru should have gotten a ton of T for staying conscious this long, battling on Empty)
>>29360330Maybe we should wait for the OP to actually post what we got instead of you deciding based on what you think we should get
>>29360484>>29360457I don't recall us ever getting negative stats except from critical failures, so I don't think there's anything to worry about us losing any stats.
>>29360451It's still less of an impact. Their shit social skills would only come into play once they start talking enough to show it. They don't have the immediate negative reactions even before the conversation begins that Ceru gets from being 70+%. They also have psychic powers, so they could just redo the conversation when they fuck it up.
>>29360526Just realized it's been a bit since OP said anything....I hope you're still with us Professor.
Rolled 22I wonder if Ygg fell asleep on his keyboard again.
>>29360537Cue RPG conversations of going back over the same conversation again and again.
>>29360537With an esper around us, we could subtly influence people to be more receptive. Problem solved.
>>29360545>>29360558God i hope not.
>>29360571...damn you anon.Damn you.
>>29360580Wasting the esper's stamina to fix a problem they wouldn't have if they just acted as the face instead of having Ceru do it.
>>29360580>implying Ceru is going anywhere NEAR an esper voluntarily for some time
>>29360613>Implying it's not espers, but esper monsters that she'd be afraid ofGoldie is literally her main squeeze after all.
>Esper is going to root through our head like an amphetamine-fueled chimp picking bugs>They find the part where Hypno offers us the monster's deal to ostracize Devon and betray the dome>Sees we didn't do it>He feels a tiny little bit bad about the things he said.
>>29360602The solution to this problem?MILOTIC
>>29360602Why wouldn't they do that in the first place? Is the question.>>29360663Devon should know that from listening in on the radio.
>>29360664dude, drop it.
>>29360663I'm pretty sure Devon heard Hypno make the offer on the radio, since Hypno was speaking out loud. And given that the next thing he heard is Hypno telling Ceru she will pay, it follows that Ceru didn't take it.Preeeetty sure Devon just doesn't give a shit.
>>29360652>implying Ceru isn't going to freak out the next time Goldie tries to speak to her telepathically and yell before curling up in a ball on her bed.
>>29360708well, he kind of did save her fat ass
>>29360718Attack on Pokemon Hunter: PTSD is Magic
>>29360708Or rather, he wasn't thinking of it before because the circumstances didn't permit it.Right now, he (or rather, we) can choose to have him react to that, if an appropriate time actually comes up for us to make such a decision.
>>29360664Milotic isn't going to do SHIT. We have nowhere left to put milotic parts. People would still see all the other shit. We wouldn't look pretty with milotic, it would just add more flesh to the clusterfuck. If you wanted to whine about hypothetical implants that would be good for social things but won't actually work because of what we already have, FAIRY TYPES. Specifically Sylveon. The thing that exudes an aura of good feelings. But we aren't going to do that.
>>29360718>implying she isn't going to kill him with some evil type moves
>>29360747Milotic actually exudes an aura that calms other people and relieves them of stress. So probably an internal implant from Feebas.
>>29360681>Devon should know that from listening in on the radio.>>29360708He was sorta fighting with big bug at the time. Doubt he was listening to the creepy esper talking on the other side of the room over the sounds of the bug throwing houses, him spitting fire, people screaming, trees getting thrown etc.He also kept talking about how Ceru might have gone traitor or be in league with the monsters. If he knew that she turned them down, he wouldn't think that.
>>29360761i'm pretty sure there isn't a "happiness organ" and you have to implant the whole thing to get the bonus. we arent doing that.
>>29360613>>29360652>>29360718>>29360755Ah, but seriously you guys. That experience wasn't all that different from what we've already gone through. She'll probably be fine.>>29360777That was because of the anons clamoring to have Devon act like a jerk.
>>29360777devon hears Hypno offer Ceru a dealnext time he sees Ceru she's shooting ice at him.
>>29360747>Supernatural beauty>Not doing shitOkay you're being retarded especially since Milotic has a similar ability.
>>29360808>YOU WILL PAY
Rolled 44Oh christ Ygg stop falling asleep while running.
This is fucking sad.
>>29360831That's what it's looking like.Geez, is he that tired when he runs these days? Something's goin on.
>>29360795Er, what reason do you have to think that at all?Specific parts of a pokemon have specific functions. There's no real reason why Prof wouldn't explain Milotic's aura being caused by some sort of gland within Feebas that matures when it evolves. It might not even be an aura, but pheromones it exudes, in which case it's even more appropriate to have it be caused by an internal organ. It's just like how he explained the impeccable aim of the remoraid implants. It's all perfectly in keeping with the setting.
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-sr-dZE9qE&list=PL616C409141684A9E>CeruleanYou're head's murky, and everything's dark. You fell down from that coin, in its spinning and metronome-like movement. Everything just kind of fell from there. It's kind of a good feeling to just kind of rest in this black sea, not thinking of anything in particular. It's kind of nice. Just having nothing to think about for a while, no one to look at you and judge you as a monster or expect anything from you as a ranger. There's a few flashes of violence here and there, and that makes you frown. You kind of want to kill something. To squeeze it inbetween your claws as it suffers lacerations from your cold cutting grip. Unfortunately there's nothing here to do that to.Devon? Devon would do. It'd just take wrapping your digits about his throat and sinking your claws in, shredding his supple, tenuous neck until it was nothing but bloody shreds.Who's Devon again? You feel a disturbance as the dark waters pulse with lights, shimmering among the surface of the waves, giving rise to an amorphous blob, giving presence to something existing here.===This is your punishment===It states, ringing out through this world. You're dragged under the dark waters by hands reaching and clawing at your body. You open your mouth to scream, only for water to sink into your lungs. This was when you didn't have gills. You choke and gasp as the water pours down your throat, mercilessly choking you as you try to cough it up, to take a breath only to find more water coming on board and the surface to drift further and further away. You see a hound, he walks into a room with boss and you fire at him, ducking behind cover shortly after as you'd been trained. He paints the room with fire and you douse the opposition before returning your own high pressure water to knok him back, launching an icicle at him as water bursts at the apex of your frozen claws.

He locks you down, using your own mechanism against you, a sad man appearing at your door, a man that only had plan to mourn his weakening life."You are a failure, the beast will take you."The world distorts into a fog that parts away, revealing that you're looking up at a blue sky devoid of glass, something warm and wet enveloping your legs, looking down, you see a giant serpent swallowing you whole as you're unable to move, unable to resist. It works its way slowly up, swallowing you slowly. You fall then, into its stomach and before a gallery of your peers. They are all of various yellow pigments, with golden almond eyes staring down at you with stoicism."By this council's decree. Ni'aras of Eubrana. You are exiled from our people. You may never return, nor will you ever remember how. Repentence for your crime shall be your eternal absence, and your nonexistence to us shall be your sentence and execution.Begone"Your entire world fades, and you feel hot sand shifting beneath your feet, the harsh sun blasting down upon your flesh, threatening to sear your skin from exposure alone. You can't tell where you are, only that you don't know which direction is home. You walk thousands of miles without a home...===Wake up Cerulean of the Rockets======You are safe now. Wake up.===No, I need to travel, I need to remember what I've forgotten. Even if I can never remember. You think to yourself, focusing on the journey ahead, the lifetime of wandering.
>>29360889Er, it's fine if there's logic to it, anon. Why wouldn't there be a "happiness organ", as you say?
===Wake up. Boss wants to hear your report.===Boss? Boss wants to hear my report. You find yourself back at the courtroom. "I need to report to boss." You say.You climb from the maw of the snake,"Sorry, I need to report to boss. The mission is done." You apologize to the thing. You're shooting down Devon, stopping to help him up,"We need to report to boss."With a nod from him, you find yourself choking back the dark waters, swimming up through the viscous sea.Thrashing at the surface against the hands, you shrug them off,"I need to report to boss! The form standing upon the water made of water offers you its hand, as you take it, you see the Boss reflected in its featureless visage. "Boss?"You wake up to Giovanni holding your hand."Good morning Cerulean, with us again?" His intense stare upon you makes you feel incredibly meek. THough, him holding your hand? You could just about die happy right now, he's sitting right next to you upon your bed, concerned for your well being. You nod,"Y-yes, yes I am."Taking stock of your surroundings, you see that indeed, it's your room, and you're surrounded by spoons. Alexis meditates before you, floating upon the air with her spoons floating gently around her, light casting off of them like some kind of lightbending work of magic. Her usual somber expression upon her face, your gaze lingers upon the inverted star for one reason or the other."Glad you're with us again. It took a while to undo whatever put that spell on you. It was woven with layers and layers of detail. Meaningless and intricate mixed with meaningful and simple things. Odd to work through." She sighs, a finger rubbing against her temple."Boss leans a bit closer to you,"We were worried about you Cerulean. Devon's given his report. Goldenrod and Sanna have been released back into our custody, and we're setting up a strike team to erase that village... I'm concerned that the monster suspect has not been discovered."
>Your answer?-Cerulean does not know of the beetle, or anything that transpired after losing to Hypno...
>>29360900>a man that only had plan to mourn his weakening life.So the guy is letting us know that he was just planning to live out the rest of his days peacefully in his village?
>>29360960OH GOD PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!!!!!
>>29360960>>Your answer? What was the question again?
>>29360960mention the half breed, the forced cross breeding, they have repel tech
>>29360960The monster was a psychic type, it was fathered by one with a coin and lots of powerI messed up boss, sorry
>>29360960The monster suspect was the child of the woman I found and that Monster
>>29360960"How long was I gone?"
>>29360935Start from beginning where we met the and explain everything leading up to the Hypno.
>>29360960The suspect is actually the child of hypno and a human girl.It can pass as an human esper and killed against the will of its parent.
>>29360935>>29360960tell him about the half breed
>>29360960One little detail... does Cerulean still have her Index?
>>29360988These seem like the most pertinent details
>>29361015and does the index record?
>>29361015Not on her.It was in radio mode, not record.Fatal error in evidence-acquirement.
>>29360873>>29360900>>29360935>>29360960Welp, shut me up. Damn Professor, that was...oddly relaxing. Some sort of uh...'lover' he said. It was...I remember..."Something to that effect sound nice?I'm happy you're not asleep, Professor. It's good to be Ceru again.
>>29361009>>29361002>>29360988And they've been here for years.
>>29361041Less concerned about what mode it's in, more concerned about what the Hypno could do with the information on it if it took it from her.
>>29361041Nah man, that mind maze Alexis just saw? That was all the evidence we needed really.
>>29360960"There are more of those things. They threw this one out of their village. He called it Eubrana..."
>>29360960I feel as if the reason why it gave us a peek at its memories was to garner some sympathy for it, perhaps?'Course, we're totes devoted to the boss.First off, let's start with the intruder to the dome (and I think we can automatically assume that it's fine to speak of the mission details in front of Alexis). From what we've surmised, it was likely the half-breed son between a psychic monster that possessed human-like intelligence and an esper woman who he had taken from the dome and presumably brainwashed into loving him. Then we can go into detail about what we've learned of this monster, such as its name, its capabilities (it managed to lock out our evil moves), and of its presumed origin from a monster village. We can go into detail about what we just dreamed if we can remember it. The monster was apparently banished for some sort of crime it committed against its kind and it presumably established the village with the stolen technology to live out the rest of its life peacefully. It's unlikely that it'll share news of our repel tech with its kind, depending on how rigidly they adhere to their laws, but....
>>29361055Its safe to assume that the hybrid is a very normal looking human esper with a somewhat crooked nose and a strong beard. We can expect him to be extremely skilled at hypnotism and memory manipulation, furthermore, he probably hypnotised and altered the memory of a very large amount of people.
>>29360960"I was unable to find the suspect, but I was able to gather some information from his parents. The mother was an Esper who had been abducted and repeatedly hypnotized by the father, an unknown and extremely powerful Esper monster named Ni'aras. Apparently they had forbidden their son from killing anyone, and the mother was quite distressed to here that he had become a murderer. Was unable to properly gauge Ni'aras's reaction.Unfortunately I was unable to gather more intel before Ni'aras made me the ultimatum that the only way I was getting out of their village alive was to delete all the information from mine and Devon's indexes, and agree to have my memory of the village erased, and have impulses to strongly discredit Devon implanted.I resisted, but was overpowered.Sorry."
Of course, a relevant question is, how much of that information would Hypno have left infact?
>>29361041I guess we figured record would be useless if we wouldn't leave alive.Though you'd think they'd do both at once.
>>29360960>>29361084>>29361123If we can mix these two, support.
>>29361093He wouldn't have a beard, though. He'd have hair legs. Kinda like a satyr. He definitely smells like a monster, though, so a team of trackers and espers (to detect any mental activity) would be recommended to capture him.
>>29361093has claws too.
check hymen after everybody leavespretty sure Ni'aras didn't do that though
>>29361176i don't think that the half breed was banished.though it is possible that the hypno was banished out of a village of espers
>>29361093Prone to headbutting.
>>29361190So we are looking for someone wearing pants and gloves.>>29361177Not sure about how it would work. If he's mature enough, he could have a beard instead of leg hair.
>>29361177>looking for a guy>mite have a beard>and hairy legs>smells like a monsterINCREDIBLE WORK
>>29361217Neither of those said the half-breed was the banished one. They both said it was the monster that was banished and that the dome intruder was the half-breed
>>29361225Don't forget he can also manipulate others memories
>>29361241said the girl with a horn
>>29361225Devon still has his scent, doesn't he?
>>29361225It could also be a girl.
Cue the transfer ranger kid from Jhoto!!!
>>29361249welp, I'm sure that will make him much easier to identify. So long as he's not manipulating other people's memories or anything
>>29361177So, looking for a half monster, extremely powerful esper. capable of mind control, memory manipulation, implanting instructions/urges. Physical details are shaky - We know he has yellow fur, possibly an overly large nose. May use a coin in battle.
>>29361260I'm pretty sure the mother said it was a boy.
>>29360935>>29361272Oh yes. We should definitely tell the boss of the equipment the monster had. He was using a coin on a string as a focus for his mental attacks. He was also physically strong.
>>29361217That seem to be likely. The hypno probably got banished for producing an half breed.
>>29361272The monster had brown hair. What did we do with it?
>>29361330The infiltrator had brown hair, and we gave it to Devon.
>>29360960"I'm sorry boss. I messed up, didn't I? The suspect is the child of a monster Esper named Ni'aras, he was exiled from his home community, Eubrana, knowledge of how to get there was removed from his mind as part of this. He kidnapped children and psychically altered them, his 'wife', a human Esper, was his favorite. I'm not sure of her current status, I got her with an Ice Shard, but it was likely not fatal. He uses a coin to hypnotize people and is experienced in hand to hand combat. He claims he wants to live his life out in peace.I didn't notice any inhuman footprints other than Ni'aras's, so I would guess that the culprit looks reasonably human due to being a hybrid."
>>29361328Wait there are two villages?
>>29361359It look like the esper monsters are much more organized than the regular monsters. They probably have villages or even cities hidden deep into the wild.
>>29361328Or perhaps for another crime? Perhaps the only reason he fell in love with the esper woman was because he was lonely from being cut off from his kind? He finds humans disgusting, after all. Maybe desperation was what made him reach out to the woman?>>29360960Also, I think the woman told us that she had, had dreams of the man with the crooked nose taking her away from the dome? We should inform the boss of that. It may mean that she possesses the ability to see glimpses of the future.
>>29361328What? Hypno made the rapevillage after he was banished.
>>29361379>Or perhaps for another crime? Perhaps the only reason he fell in love with the esper woman was because he was lonely from being cut off from his kind? He finds humans disgusting, after all. Maybe desperation was what made him reach out to the woman?Maybe she wasn't his first human woman.
>>29361359Hypno twice relayed to us that he was from a place called Eubrana, though all the information we have regarding these circumstances come straight from him (including what was imparted as part of our reprogramming) so I don't see how it could be treated as trustworthy.
>>29360960>>29361379This is important tactical information. If the enemy possesses the ability to see the future, they might have already foreseen the team Giovanni has sent to the village and have already fled. In which case, they might have left a trap behind....>cue Devon adding in that the guardian of the village is an enraged giant beetle>that is, if he can connect it
>>29361402That does not matter. We must relay it to the boss all the same.
>>29361402its all we have on the matter I'm afraid
>>29361411>>29361379I'm pretty sure that means that Hypno has been to the Dome multiple times and implanted hypnotic suggestions before he ultimately kidnapped her.Not sure where the fuck you're getting precognition.
>>29361434That was what I thought as well, but Espers are capable of seeing the future, so it is just a likely.
>>29361434>Future Sight>Lv57-69 (depending on the game and gen)fuck, I hope it doesn't
>>29361434Espers are capable of Future Sight. And also>Out the other children he'd taken, he loved me the most. He admired my dreams, even if I could no longer remember them. There may have been a reason why the Hypno liked her dreams the most....especially if she was capable of seeing the future through them.
I hope Devon suggested that Sana should go out and bugwrangle up some nice new research material for the good of mankind.
"The intruder was half-monster, half-human. His father was a monster." You rise from your bedside, taking back your clawed hand from the boss, noticing that his hands took on white pigmentation that quickly vanishes once he's out of contact with you."He was the one that had been committing crimes here in the dome, his mother confessed that he was here, and was sad that he hurt people." You clasp your hands together in our bed, Alexis closes her eyes, going somewhere else in her mind via meditation, only the Boss's eyes remain on you as he awaits your further report."Devon and I left to find the monster and found a village, that's where we found an unknown monster and the mother. We didn't find the metals, or the intruder, though we found those two."The boss nods for you to go on as you glance for his approval, swallowing yourself."The monster said its name was Ni'Aras Cast from Eubrana. I just had a dream where he was exiled," You touch your head, only vaguely remembering what transpired," He walked for a really long time before he found us, and started kidnapping people.Maybe to make a home?"You tug at the sheets of your bed, kind of relieved that you aren't in a hospital bed."Sorry I couldn't do more boss, I really tried, I did."You breathe with a bit of hesitation, feeling the pressure of tears in the back of your eyes now that you've recounted your overall failure to complete your objectives.
Should we start compiling what we came up with?

>>29361849Yeah but he could just be psychically suggesting we all see him as Giovanni despite him being a seven foot tall cat monster.
>>29361856Ditto are failed Mew clones.
>>29361868they are left over pokemon from the old world, it was not Giovanni or his scientists that failed, they do not even know it is a failure.
You feel a hand upon your head, rustling up your hair a little."Ranger, it's alright." His expression softens just a little from his usual, a subtle curve of smile upon his lips. "I'm just glad that you returned safe and well. I do so hate it when I lose a member of my family, especially one with such promise." He closes his eyes for a moment."I am disappointed that you failed to capture the suspect, though we will find him. Him and the people that harbor espers outside of our own perimeter. Worry not about that, my Cerulean. You did however do as asked- Finding the truth of the error, and getting to the bottom of this after I had adjusted the order.""You've done quite well indeed."You can't help but to blush beneath your fur at that," Awww, thank you boss.." Your face feels a bit colder than usual at that. The man stands up at your bed. "Having heard your report however, I'll be having a word with Devon about this absurd Giant Beetle he found. He's making claims that it can lift one hundred times its body weight. Then there's this about some kind of miracle berry that cured him when he was in the field. He's an excellent ranger only... " Boss looks over you," He lacks a certain humility that really makes a ranger." The boss adjusts his Uniform, and you give him a salute, as he raises a hand for you to ease yourself."Only in Uniform Cerulean, " He reminds."Ah, yes sir." You nod at that. and he walks off..."Ah, boss." He halts, yurning, looking to you from only the corner of his eye."Yes?""The woman, the mother. She told me that she dreamt of the future from a very young age. So, um. The enemy may have an edge in counterattacks.""Noted, thank you trainee." The boss leaves, and you are left alone, just you and Alexis.
"Devon's a hard read, but that's an amazing story Cerulean. I'm surprised that the two of you made it back as you did."You nod, clasping your hands together and leaning back into your pillows."Yes, but here I am! Coming back like a trooper." You giggle though Alexis doesn't."He didn't even remember why he was cast out. It was kind of sad."You lok down, kind of somber," So. You saw too?"Alexis nods,"Yes, sorry if it was a secret. Couldn't help it while making you stop trying to hurt people. That Monster's Hypnosis is strong. What will you call it?"You think for a moment," Hypno. Let's call it Hypno."Alexis grins just a little," I suppose that's polite, though not quite what I was expecting... Take care Cerulean..."Alexis and her spoons vanish, leaving you wholly alone.Well, what now?> Check on Goldie when he gets back.> Check up on Sanna, she missed a lot.> Check on Devon, who know what he's said?> Chase Giovanni, drop Lilac's name.> Visit Mable just to bug her.> Go to sleep.

>>29362288Bad souls make excellent fuel, anon...
>>29362288The Litwick feed upon spiritual energy. Cerulean feels a little tired whenever she's at the spire.Having so many present helps draw nearby souls to the spire, ensuring Rangers that die within a certain range find their way there. It also acts as a means to collect deceased monster souls so that they don't become inherently vengeful spirits. The Mediums' and more so Agatha's great power allows so many to exist in one place without a significant drain upon visitors there. They also cooperate in assisting the channeling of the dead, and Honedge may be wielded so long as permission is asked from it.

You might've visited them all in person, but hey, you're still a bit tired from the mission, no sense in walking if you don't need to. Your body's still really sore at that."Sure, I'll come for a team meet, sorry I was kind of crap on the mission, Cerulean." Sanna sound apologetic over the line, yet you assure her that it's alright, that it could've gone better on all ends. She doesn't seem all that convinced."Yeah... Sure, I'll come... Is Devon going to be there?" Of course! You tell Goldie and he immediately shrinks on the other end."I-I don't want to come, it's fine.""Goldie..." You growl into the phone," You're coming to lunch since we were all on the team. You did a good job. I'll deal with Devon, okay?"Goldie concedes,"See you at lunch."Now for Devon..."Hahahaha! Hey fattie, hope you know I saved your sorry ass. Giovanni tell you that?! I'm sure boss went into all the detail!" He rants on and on about how he saved you from yourself after you got brainwashed. You kind of shrink back on your side, letting him talk and get it all out."So, what did you want anyway?""I... Uhm.. Nothing.""What? You serious? You went out of your way to call me and won't even confess your super not-secret crush on me after I single-handedly recovered that mission from being FUBAR? Huh. Well this is boring as reverse. You know he's taking all the credit for finding the village and everything?"You blink at that," No, I haven't heard that from boss,"Goldie frowns, his short Golden mustache framing his mouth," Well that's what I heard, went on about you messed up too. Granted that you did-Sanna slams the table, silencing him,"Yeah, let's not talk about that, gonna make the food bad."Looking over to you,"You did fine, I wish I coulda done more for ya. I just wanted to work out a list of stuff to talk about (namely apologizing to Goldie about making him do something he was uncomfortable with, AND causing him to fuck it up (though it was partially Devon's fault that time too)))Sanna was not much help during all this as I recall, but mostly because she got dragged off early.Next time, when we visit Devon, I say we sit him down, and force his stupid ass to accept our thanks without letting him twist it. He is a huge asshole, but he saved us, and ensured the mission succeeded, for the most part.
Honestly after that particular spiel from Devon I can't see her asking for him to be on her team. Sorry Devon.

>>29362649Nasty Plot + Gunning and environmental control with Icy Wind is a good thing.
>>29362635>>29362649Yeah, we should really start amping up our other moves. We could make all sorts of trick shots with our ice forming capabilities.
So tell the truth professorThat Beetle Devon saw on the way out of the forestIt was a fucking trap, wasn't it? >>29362669We should really start powering up Icy Wind until we can do miniature Blizzards centralized on our position.I seem to recall Icy Wind helping to disrupt esper concentration before, so.....it would have been really useful in this mission.
>>29362673I thought it probably would have called it's big brother.
>>29362673It would have thought Devon has its mother and we would have gotten special episode ending where Devon retires to be a full time mommy towards it
>>29362684Yeah. It's hard to guard against an attack when the attack is cold everywhere. Also leveling it enough would make it so soaking people with Water Gun would result in even more movement restriction. Water instantly freezing with Icy wind turns the area into a winter wonderland.
>>29362684Prof already said that Icy Wind gets upgraded into blizzard when it reaches a high enough rank.

Or at least exaggerated it. >>29362725>dat spoilerI wish for wilder and wackier things, Prof.Also. Ceru's naming sense. I can see why Alexis would have been disappointed by that. Is that going to be a one off thing or is it going to be a character trait now?
>>29362725>Failed combat roll...so the lum berry most certainly DIDN'T cure her Hypnosis, and us taking the Macho Brace off was a terrible idea and should have gotten our skull blown off?Good to know that I was right...I guess.Sigh.I don't even care anymore.
>>29362218>Cacturne>THE DESERT IS BARREN OF LIFE.>We will keep it that way.>roving gang of sentient Cacti.Yeah, I don't know, Cacturne might scare me the most because I live in a desert.
>>29362725How does the whole leveling Icy Wind until it's a Blizzard thing work now?You said that's how it works back before you implemented stamina. But now with stamina, you've confirmed that Blizzard will take way more than Icy Wind. What if we upgrade Icy Wind enough to get Blizzard, but we don't want to use Blizzard in some instance because it costs too much. Are we just shit out of luck there or can we use the max level of Icy Wind below Blizzard instead when we want to?
>>29362725>He thinks he made up the super-strength up. Or at least exaggerated it. The lum is a lot more believable as you wouldn't see its effects unless you were suffering a sort of paralysis or a burn wound, so there's that. Was this because of anons suggestions earlier? Could we have made him more believable somehow?>>29362760Er, it didn't cure her hypnosis. Immediately. We don't know if it did help her recover or not, but seeing as how Alexis had to work pretty hard to help us out, it probably wouldn't have snapped us out completely if it did help at all.
>>29362770>Yeah, I don't know, Cacturne might scare me the most because I live in a desert.I keep a pet cactus in my room. It whispers to me now. It's telling me that.....they're coming for you, Prof.

>>29362725>Ceru violent the whole timeNo way you expected us to use the Macho Brace against her. That had to have been a lucky ideaIt had to be.Jesus that entire mission was way closer then it ever needed to be everWhy did it go so badly, Professor? Why did everything possible go wrong?
>>29362770>Cacturne might scare me the most because I live in a desert.whatAlso speaking about pokemans:>3. Gourgeist>It enwraps its prey in its hair like arms. Well, the pumpkin that died so you could enjoy that turned into an evil pumpkin ghost that wraps its appendages around living beings and SINGS JOYFUL SONGS as whatever poor creature dies a miserable death. I would never wish "strangled to death by a ghost-plant who was humming Katy Perry songs" on anyone.
>>29362787Er, yes. All that I was saying is that we don't know if it had an effect on us or not since we didn't wait long enough to observe any changes in Ceru's condition.
>>29362772I think we unlock Blizzard as a secondary skill thing like we unlocked the Rest while running.Like, we have Icy Wind (X) where X is the maximum level of Icy Wind, but then when we buy the next level we unlock Blizzard (Y) instead where Y is equal to X+(ranks bought above X) and can choose to use that or Icy Wind.So lets pretend that Icy Wind unlocks Blizzard at level 15 and we bought 20 levels. We'd have:Icy Wind (15)Blizzard (5)
>>29362817I didn't want to wait around because>A: The way it was worded (using the term waste time for example) highly suggested waiting was a bad idea>B: I didn't want Heracross to find us>C: I didn't want Ceru to get super stronk from the berries and murder usI just wanted to go home.
>>29362817>>29362836I didn't want to wait around because I wanted the fucking mission to end already.

And I'm glad to see how much development he's gotten. He's pretty bad ass (although, now that the mission is coming to a close, some of the things he shouted while killing the villagers sounds pretty embarrassing now), but he's kinda awkward as well. He'll probably get a cool down from the spotlight for now as we explore other characters (and we've been neglecting Bruise lately), but here's to hoping for more of the D.
>>29362883I'm pretty sure Sabrina will have that covered.
>>29362883I want to level the shit out of Icy Wind.
>>29362883Some things I learned>Don't even leave the Dome with just one partner>Don't mess with Espers, seriously, just don't>Refer to lesson 2>Always have a full set of gear with you.>Do NOT leave the dome without at least 75% Stamina>Do NOT split up on missions (That's why we have Espers, for recon)>Rely on teammates, especially when they have a specialty. Devon was the lynchpin here, it was the only reason we lived.>The dice will always fuck you over. Prepare for that. Don't leave things to chance.

>>29362930Can someone make this a Copypasta?Seriously, this needs to be remembered.
>>29362907I wanted him to come off as a trained professional while also having a bit of an awkward teenager side to him. He's a badass, but only when he's on the mission, and he'll kill humans if he's paranoid enough as seen when he gets wrapped up in a fury.A nerd, a badass, and a psychopath. They're all still just children with their flaws. Even Ceru still suffers from self esteem issues to some degree.Heck, you could spin it story-wise that she works exrra hard to make up for her fatty look. Her own way of compensating for her looks.>>29362952>Pls no more Shadowruns.Danger will be far more upfront on the more traditional missions. The rare metals > Village mission were meant to appear innocuous at first and unveil something above "paygrade" yet still manageable- with a full team.Getting split twice was the thing that wrecked this encounter.Ni'Aras is still in the area.
