You're Tammy Konstantin, an 18yo NEET/hiki of two years who've been forced to snap out of NEET-dom and get a job or go back to school within a month, otherwise you'll be kicked out from home by your parents. After dropping out of highschool due to a certain event, you've almost never left your room and haven't been outside the house for over a year, until earlier today with the help of the always diligent gentlemen of /tg/.There's still a long way to go, though, seeing as Tammy still have problems even talking with her family. And to go from that to having a job or stable education within the 28 days that are left is going to require some radical changes, and most likely a lot of awkward situations and stomach churning.Older threads can be found here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=NEET%20QuestWithout further ado, let's get rolling.
You're rushed back to reality by a sound that makes you sit right up with a gasp, your book falling out of your hands. The noise repeats itself, turning out to be someone knocking on your door. You brace yourself for the possibility that the person might enter your room, and the thought itself makes your insides curl up. From the outside rings the voice of your brother:"Tam, dinner is ready. Mom has asked you to join us." With that said, Kasper retreats down the hall to the stairs and further down to the lower level, obvious from the sound of his footsteps. You take your time to calm yourself, the natural rush of worried excitement that always comes when someone interrupts your sanctioned peace and quiet slowly dwindling to nothing. You pick up the book now lying open on the floor, and put a mark where you managed to read to before drifting off to the realm of dreams. With a not-so-swift move, you raise yourself from your makeshift beanbag chair on your bed and stretch yourself. You must've dozed off for a second there, undoubtedly because of all the things that's been happening today. You slouch your way over to your computer, and notice the time as you swivel yourself into place. 06:42PM. Going down to dinner now would mean facing your family, and worst of all your dad. Mom and Kasper would bombard you with questions for you to prove to dad that you're doing well, but the mere thought makes your throat dry up and you feel yourself having trouble breathing. Facing your dad after such a short time would prove immensely difficult, but there's no doubt that you have to at some point. The question is, what to do at the moment? You're not exactly hungry, and not really tired, and you definitely want to do something else than being in the same room as your family right now.>A. Play vidya>B. Lurk imageboards>C. From all that's happened, you're exhausted both physically and mentally, and dragging yourself onto your feet proves difficult. Nevertheless you pull through, and find yourself unlocking your door. Entering the hallway reveals a smell of food coming from downstairs; something tomato-ish, something cheesy, but you can't make out what exactly it is. Sneaking to the stairs and down every step, avoid the locations that make is creak and squeak, you're quickly confirmed in what's for dinner:You mom have, most likely out of old habit, left a plate of food for you on the dresser in the hallway. On the plate is a slice of steaming hot lasagne, cheese and meat sauce dripping out from between the layers of spaghetti plates. The sight of the dish makes your stomach grumble, and you realize that you've actually been rather hungry all along, your real hunger most likely being covered up subconsciously through the fear of facing your father. You're left with a maybe not that difficult dilemma; grab the plate and head upstairs, or grab the plate and head to the dinner table?>A. >>28289411Grabbing hold of the plate with both hands, you swallow an amount of bile that have built up in your mouth. The familiar feeling of anxiety, the ice cold ball of lead around your solar plexus, have returned full force. You know what is necessary to do, no matter how much you resent it. Facing your father is a thing you have to do at some point anyway, and considering the amazing lifestyle breakthroughs you've had already in these last two days, what could possible go wrong?Reality is quite different compared to what you wish you could convince yourself is the truth, though, as you're literally trembling from fear. From inside the living room you can make out the voices of Alice, Kasper, and Bob, having a light-hearted conversation about what they've spent the day on. For each step closing in on the door to the dining room, your breath elevates and your heart rate enters unhealthy levels. Rounding the corner, you stand completely immobilized, facing the cozy little scene that is your family dining and chatting. You stand there for what feels like and eternity, but in reality probably isn't more than 10 seconds, before Kasper spots you. At this point you're trembling so hard that holding onto the plate and managing not to spill lasagne on the carpet proves a challenge in itself. As he calls out for you by name and invites you over by pulling out a chair, your mom and dad turns around to face you. The sight of your dad as his eyes connect with yours makes you tense up, dropping the plate of cheese and tomato in the process.cont.
>>28289805"Oh, Tammy dear," your mother exclaims as she sees the mess. Getting up from her chair, she walks over and gives you a quick hug before guiding you to the pulled out chair, you facing the floor and blushing so hard from embarrassment that your face matches the red stain on the nylon carpet."Don't worry, I'll get that," your mother says as she dives into the kitchen for cleaning supplies with an aura of effectiveness emanating from her like only a true housewife could. Your father, after concluding that his wife is doing her job, turns to you with an inquisitorial frown on his face."So, Tammy," his deep threatening voice rings out, "I hear you've been making progress. Care to tell me about it?"You freeze thanks to the tone in his voice. Your father have always scared you, but even more now after you've become a NEET. >>28289908Your mom dances over with a clean plate, knife, and fork, and cuts out a big slice of lasagne. Placing it in front of you, it somehow manages to shift your focus from the fabric of the table cloth to the fact that you're still damn hungry. Grabbing onto the cutlery and cutting yourself a bite, feeling the odour caress your nose, you chomp down on the fork and almost shiver from the taste of your mom's cooking. As always, it's amazing as any other thing she manages to scramble together in the little kitchen of hers. Pleasuring every inch of your tongue with the perfect consistence of pasta, meat, and cheese, you swallow and savour the warm feeling the food provides in your body as it travels down and settles in your stomach. You feel a lot more encouraged after providing yourself with a bit of homecooked love."Well?" your dad asks, obviously getting annoyed by having his question ignored by his prodigious daughter. You assert yourself, inhale, recall the talk you had with Kasper, then try to say something. But, nothing comes out of your mouth. The ball of lead have manifested itself again, this time in your throat. All kinds of thoughts emerge from your subconsciousness; what if he expects me to have found a job already? What if he gets angry that I've only managed to break my silence? What if he will want me to chose something tonight? What if he will be disappointed? What if he will be angry?Pearls of sweat start forming on your forehead, as you massage your throat and try to let out coherent words instead of sounds such as "hm" and "um". Suddenly, you feel a hand on your thigh. You turn to look in the direction from which the grab came, and is faced with Kasper. He's sporting the same serious expression as he did when you were having a fit in his room."Don't worry, Tam," he whispers in a soft, comforting voice, "I'm here should something happen."cont.
>>28290497You take a few deep breaths, relieved by the presence of your brother. Suddenly your father doesn't appear as scary, and you manage to form a few words. "W-well, I did clean my r-room, and, um, uh, I-I've spoken with Kasper, who, um, w-will help me as far as I know...." your voice fades off and becomes a barely audible whisper as your eyes bolts around the room, trying to avoid the gaze of your father. Hearing this, Bob contemplates for a second, then close his eyes and sighs."Well, it's a start. Continue improving yourself." he exclaims, then returns to his dinner, apparently satisfied for now. A wash of relief runs through your body realizing that there won't be more to it than that, and you restrain yourself from jumping out your chair and instead nod slightly and turn your attention towards your piece of lasagne. Kasper, obviously satisfied with both you and himself from the way he's smirking, squeeze your thigh and digs in himself. Your mother, sitting next to your father, turns and pecks him with a kiss on the chin and whisper something in his ear that makes him give off a satisfied grunt through his moustache. After dinner, you help mom carry the plates to the dishwasher, as dad turns to his chair with a paper and a cigarette and Kasper retreats upstairs. As everything is put in their right place, she bends down and hugs you once again and with a smile send you off to your room. And boy, was it needed. The hours tik by, and you find yourself ensnared by the dynamic combat of the Free-to-Play MMO. By the time you're level 15 having made your way to a low Woodland place, you conclude that it must be enough gaming for today. Quitting to desktop, you see that the time has become 11:34PM already. As you snuggle up under your cover, letting the heavy, comforting feeling of sleep seep into every fiber in your body, your last thought before turning yourself over to your subconsciousness drifts to the faces of the guys who you saw earlier, and a tiny smile shows itself on your sleeping face.—You wake up due to the sharp sunlight of a clear winter sky banking in through your window and reflecting off your walls. Mulling about in your bed for some minutes, you finally stretch yourself, bending your back like a cat who just woke up from its midday nap. I hate to be negative but how come she hasn't considered suicide yet?I was heading towards NEET and my parents retaliated with 'get yourself together or we will kick you out' and I had suicidal thoughts for months while I slowly got myself together.
>>28291915He probably asked her to come over because he likes her and he thought it would help us to talk to someone else.First front: good going baby bro, this deserves the highest of fives.Second front: nomononononono can't deal with this without forewarning "K-Kasper!" >>28291962We dunno what happened during the two-year stretch, but what with all that's happened in the past few days, there hasn't been much time for depression.Hopefully, this will remain true.
This story bothers me since I'm still not out of the NEET phase. I've regained enough of myself that I can go drive myself to the store and buy things and converse with people and whatnot but I worked a nightshift job for one week and got so overwhelmed that when I told my boss I had to quit I was sobbing and shaking.24 and only had that one job. I'm surprised they haven't kicked me out yet, though I do help around the house as if I was a maid in order to keep them from doing so.
>>28291995Yeah but one of the most likely times for people to consider suicide is when they start to feel better. During the worst of times people go with "It's too much of a bother" when they consider suicide, once they get some of their energy back is when they actually get themselves together enough to plan a real suicide. I feel like she should be showing more internal negativity beyond 'fear'. It would be a disservice to the plot and story if you shy away from this aspect of being a social outcast.

Faced with this girl, who in a brutal way looks the complete opposite of you, have first of all made you surprised to the point of your heart skipping a beat, and secondly made you incredibly scared of her intentions. There's something sinister about this overly pretty girl. For some reason, her aura makes it feel like it's all a facade to make up for a grim soul within. Call it girl's instict if you must, but this is the definite feeling you get from her. In any case, seeing as you're stuck between a rock and a hard place, you natural instincts makes up its mind about what to do before your mind has the chance of saying anything. So you scream.“AAAAAAAAHHHH, K-KASPEEER!!” you wail at the top of your lungs, stunning the girl before you in the process. The walls resonate with the wavelength of the massive sound you expel, and somewhere in the neighbourhood a dog starts barking madly due to picking up your angst-laden roar. The door to Kasper's room flies up with a force that when colliding with the wall makes a vase on a table down the hall fall over and land safely on the cushy carpet.“Tam, what's going on!? Are you hurt!?” he asks wildly as he tries to locate you and the reason for your scream. Looking down towards the staircase, he sees the mysterious girl standing with her hands in her sides, making an unmistakenly annoyed expression, and you lying curled up on the floor surrounded by a mess of formerly delicious breakfast. From your location on the hallway floor, you point at the girl with a crazed look of fear and surprise, and yell at Kasper:“W-WHO IS SHE!?” you demand to know with a trembling voice, as Kasper makes his way over to you with an look of resign on his face, shoulders slumped. He sighs.cont.
>>28302733“Chris, meet my sister, Tammy. Tam, meet Chris. She's... a friend, who sorta follows me around.” he says as he extends his hand to help you up from the floor. Reluctantly, you accept and in one swift motion he pulls you to your feet.“Kaspy, that's rude!” Chris says with a tone of overly exaggerated fake annoyance., puffing out her cheeks to appear angry. She turns to you, who is now hiding behind your brother, clutching on to his clothes as if it will make the meeting with the stranger any less horrible.“Anyway, I'm Christine. Christine Petalwood. I'm Kaspy's girlfriend.” she says, and sports that same heart-meltingly sweet smile as before. With a heavy frown manifesting itself on his face, Kasper replies with a calm, stern tone not unlike your father's when he's angry:“Chris, we talked about this. We're no such thing. It's you who continues to insist we hang out all the time.”Tilting her head to the side with an innocent, questioning expression, Chris calmly replies in the same overly sweet tone:“Oh? But I thought it became official last week, you know, with what we did after the match against Fleetsborough where we snuck into the coach's office and...”“A-alright, be quiet!” Kasper quickly interrupts. “Okay, so we're maybe dating a bit, but again, it's not offficial at the moment...” Kasper looks behind him to address you, only to find that you're long gone.Leaning against your securely locked room door, gasping for air after the impressive showcase of sneaking combined with athletics that it took to get to your room without being noticed by either of them, you put in your whole body weight and try your best to burrow your fingers into the wood of the door to ensure that absolutely no one will get inside. That girl, for some reason, freaks you out immensily, and that's not just because she's a stranger. Something about her is wrong, very wrong, and that puts Kasper in trouble.cont.
>>28302739At the moment you have nothing besides your gut feeling to go on when it comes to proving this, and Kasper seems fond of her so there's nothing you can do at the moment. Maybe its just because you're jealous of her in some way? You shake away that thought as you stand against the door with an ear pressed against it, making sure that both of them have gone to his room before you open the door sligthly and peek out. The mess you made from dropping your breakfast is still located on the floor near the staircase.Closing the door again, you're faced with a choice: brave the hallway and clean up your mess, perhaps making a new, simpler breakfast again, but risk bumping into the girl you're convinced is a succubus, or stay in the safety of your room until she leaves, without food, and risking the Wrath of Mom from staining the carpet. Having confirmed that all threats are gone from the hallway, you allow yourself to relax a bit, lock your door, and sit down stiffly in front of your computer. You have no idea how to handle this stranger, her intentions being good or not. Sneaking out without making a sound proves as easy as always, and before you close the door behind you, you take a look at your room, pleased with the state of cleanliness. This only helps motivate you to clean up the mess you made. You can't help but feeling incredibly nervous having to do this, due to the situation you might be put in if Kasper or the she-devil decides to go out. Doing a round at Kasper's door to make sure they're occupied, you can hear them talk and laugh on the inside. You try your luck listening in on the conversation in hopes of hearing something incriminating to the succubus, but before you're able to catch anything important the conversation stops and the music is raised to a point where hearing anything from the inside would be possible. For a second you wonder if it might be because they knew you were listening in, but shrugs it off as mere coincidence.Reaching the spot where you flailed bacon everywhere, you find console in that nothing is broken. You thank your mom for her love with thick 70's carpets for this, and start gathering food scraps on the plates. After gathering everything, you carry it downstairs and discard it in the trash can under the kitchen sink. Doing your absolute best to prevent any sound to be made, you manage to place the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Sneaking out to the utility room, you grab a bucket that you fill with water and brown soap, a washcloth, and a rough sponge. Carrying the bucket filled with water proves to be tough, and you need to use both hands to lift it making you look rather silly. Despite this, you manage to get upstairs and remove the stains without much of a hassle, and after putting everything back in the right place you make yourself some toast, cereal, and a cup of instant coffee in the kitchen before retreating to your room.cont.
>>28302999Heading upstairs, you can still hear loud music coming from Kasper's room. Chewing on a piece of toast, you shrug and head for your room, but before entering you hear what can only be some kind of yell over the music. The yell was definitely Kasper's voice. Chills run down your spine, and your blood rushes to your feet as your brain process every kind of possible horrible thing the she-devil could be doing to your brother. She could be torturing him for information, castrating him, beating him to a pulp with a chair, or beat him up in a fight where he refuses to fight back because of the gentleman he is.You're certain that you have to do something to ensure the well being of your brother. But your steely resolve in ensuring the well being of your brother overpowers your fear, and you make your way, slowly and shaking, to the door of your brothers room. The music is still booming from the inside, making it hard to make out what's actually going on. Teen sex will, and always have, happen, you of all people should know this. As you dig in to your breakfast, feeling the instinctual pleasantness that comes from eating when you're hungry, you manage to calm yourself and focus on other, more important matters. 27 days, that's what's left, not including today, until you need to have a job or be undergoing education, and while the thought is still scary as hell, you've started to be less worried about it and to be more constructive when it comes to figuring out what to do.Running your fingers across the list of potential jobs and schools that you've formulated in your notebook, you come to the conclusion that at least you need to get a part time job of sorts. Education cost money, this kind of specialized high school education even more so, and you can't expect your parents to pay all of it. And you might end up being forced out of home to live on your own in any case, so you'd need something to live off. After a quick googling, you learn that the key to getting a part time job is the unsolicited job application; a piece of paper which is in essence a concentrated Curriculum vitae combined with a motivational letter, usually no more than one A4 page, which is meant to convinced a potential employer to hire you or give you some trial shifts.Looking through some examples, you notice that a standard layout is almost always used, of course tweaked for the individual: A heading describing what the paper is, name and contact information located to the right underneath the heading, a text body describing yourself shortly, then what kind of job you're looking for, and then some personal strengths that go well in a job situation.cont.
>>28303613This text body is always started with "To whom it may concern,". Under this text body is located a short and easily readable list of skills and prior job experiences, so that the potential employer can get a quick feeling of the applicant. The whole application is often inspired by some fancy, modern design to make it more appealing overall.Generally, creating such an application doesn't appear to be such a hassle. But then again, you've never really been good with words. You'd need to create some sort of draft, then swing it by someone with experience, be it online or in real life. The person you know that would most likely know how to do a good job with an application would be your dad, but even though you'd be bothering him with something like this, you fear speaking to him about anything and shudder at the mere thought. Your dad still scares the heck out of you.Opening Open-office Writer, you sit and stare at the blank document, not really knowing how to start. You type the words "Unsolicited Job Application" and make it look good both in size and font. But other than that, you're drawing a blank. Taking your notebook, you scribble down some notes on what could be listed as prior experience; Paper route, girl scout, track team, chess club, experience with Microsoft Office, experience with computers, and...That's it. You don't know what else to write. You can't think of any strengths to be listed, and even if you did you wouldn't know how to write them in a way that appeals to a future employer.>How should the application be formulated, /tg/?Disclaimer; I'm in a solid job position myself and have 7 years of part time job experience and the job hunting experience that comes with it. I'm not looking for someone to do my resume for me. Just roll with it and do it for Tammy, ok?Generally, let's get down to fucking business. Enough muckin' about for now.
>>28303624And yes, I'll put together a full job application from what you guys come up with, so that future NEETs who read this thread will have something to follow when looking for a job.
Honestly, what does Tammy know about applying for a job. We should ask dad. Let's call him so we don't have to confront him in person.

>>28303737I agree with this. I don't feel that she would be capable of doing this on her own. Does her mom also work? We could ask her for help.
Alright Tammy... first problem is that we need a specific job to apply to. Generic letters get placed in the generic garbage bin.So... you need to talk about your appreciation for the company. Demonstrate that you know who they are and what they do. From there... dress up everything. You had a paper route as a young girl, so you've got a foundation in responsibility. You have "data entry" and "typing" experience. Overall, you need to tell them what you can do for them. Be confident, Tammy. Finally, leave your home number and a professional-sounding email below your name, maybe even your address.God damn it... I'm giving job advice to some non-existant NEET girl... with the chance of helping some present/future NEETs...
>>28303737>>28303866You're not actually APPLYING to the job yet, you're just formulating the application following some guides online, which as I recall is what's been suggested a couple of times before during these threads.

I guess?Do unsolicited applications even work? That's not how I've gotten the few jobs I have...
First create a nice sounding email like firstname.lastname@example.org. Set the name up and everything, maybe even (and don't go shuddering at the thought) fill up the Plus profile associated with it.

>>28304291Japanese culture, reading, taking long walks.>>28304339Don't go and reveal your stuff dude, what are you doing?!
>>28304291>Hobbies & Interests
>>28304291What did Tammy like to do before the "incident"?Present-day Tammy... Reading, writing (the go-to introvert answer), volunteer counseling (/r9k/), research (internet), cooking (coz why not?).
>>28304349>Don't go and reveal your stuff dude, what are you doing?!I thought it was blindingly obvious. I've tried to imply it as such.>family tries to give her all the help they can to become normal>she doesn't accept>a year goes by where she degrades more and more>the ultimatum is made>Tammy shows instant signs of bettering>family softens up, becomes happy, even father somewhat approvesI mean, come on.
>>28304339Man that's too bad. Still IC we shouldn't disregard the notion completely. I'd love to read a day-to-day journal of a NEET coming out of her shell, so I think there's some profit to be had from it.
So, we still need some kind of text body.
>>28304407>implying I will ever give advice when I never completed a single resumeDon't worry, I'm lawfully employed.
>>28304403The more money, the better. I'll make a mental note of it. It might also be a good way for Tammy to deal with her emotions in this whole ordeal. But I'm not gonna start a blog and actually fill it out. I draw the line somewhere.
>>28304407I wish to be employed by* you. YOU FUCKING NON-NATIVE SPEAKER, I SWEAR. I kid. But still, so many grammatical mistakes.
>>28304469I would in all honesty feel insane from writing an imaginary blog about an imaginary girl coming out of imaginary NEET-dom.>>28304497Is it really that bad?
>>28304407This might just be cultural differences speaking, but resumes in my part of the globe tend to look a little different.1. General data (name, address, etc.) tends to be in-line with the rest of the letter, with a similar format as your "education" section but placed at the top, below the header.2. The box on the upper right usually contains a 2x2" ID picture.3. "Unsolicited" has a negative connotation. Now I'm not telling you to change anything! Just curious on how different countries formulate resumes.
>>28304521i think it'd be hilariously awesome but i imagine it'd be a huge amount of work in itself
>>28303332I was busy working
>>28304521>Is it really that bad?Not really, it doesn't make your writing undecipherable, but you do quite a lot of them. Especially with conjugation. Like 'you...has'. I think maybe sometimes you forget the subject of the verb.>>28304557Help us up with the resume then, you working man! I'm sure at least you have completed one before?
>>28304557I was busy working out
>>28304521Think of it like the r9k thread though. Also I had a moment where I imagined this would go way off base and you would have a bunch of websites, some describing her story and some being actually run by 'her' and you'd have ads and shit.>>28304605>Help us up with the resume then, you working man! I'm sure at least you have completed one before? No I meant working around the house. I'm a Pseudo-NEET only had one job, lasted a week, live with parents etc but I can go outside without wanting to die and reading this with mild interest.
>>28304557I was busy working >>28304615 out.
>>28304543>2. The box on the upper right usually contains a 2x2" ID picture. We still need a body text! Just something that sounds fancy. Also, I'm hungry as balls. Gonna order a pizza, so might not respond right away at some point.
>>28304642Also this is what I used to get my job, if it will help. It was apply online so it was a resume not the application itself.I left intact anything that wasn't identifiable don't laugh, I'm mostly NEET so I made most of it up, like the work experience
>>28304703There's going to be a serious shock between seeing that 2 yo picture and the Tammy now.
>>28304703That actually looks funny to me, because it's like a cover letter mixed with a CV.
>>28304777Oh yeah, it'd basically be like that sponge bob gif, the one that also in 4chan banners
I essentially copy-pasted this from my own application, except for, you know, translating it to English. What do you all think? Would you hire Tammy?
>>28304841Maybe scrap the "which always lead to great success in everything I undertake". Maybe "which gives an edge in everything I undertake".
>>28304841Not after she assumes fetal position on my office's floor
>>28304841Depends on what she is applying for. Stocking shelves sure, until she spoke.>japanese culturemight be a red flag though
>>28304855>>28304841Yeah, I think Tammy would know that putting that up is a big red flag to anybody with half a clue, especially coming from a teenage girl. Better not take any chances.
>>28304863>>28304855Yeah don't put that down unless your story ends up having her apply to something relevant like a local /tg/ game store or something with asian imports.Anything with 'normal' people that's a no-go
>>28304948Make it "when it comes to taking on new challenges"
>>28304852>>28304855>>28304863>>28304890Like this, then?
>>28304985Sure lets move on with the story
>>28304998You have no idea how much I agree. Though we might need a new thread.I'll get writing as soon as I finish this here pizza.Bet'cha never made a job application in a role play before, huh /tg/?
>>28304985I'm motivated and* analytical? Spelling errors are a bad thing.
>>28305027Next will be a targeted job application, a prep/tech school application then maybe a college application!
>>28305027At least it's realistic to a job application since it made me feel uncomfortable and irritable.
>>28305027>Though we might need a new thread.Yeah, we're about 10 posts from autosage.
Can some one drop a link to the next thread? My mobile doesn't have catalog.
>>28305179It should have if you use the website from a browser, but sure. I'm sure NEET Master will do it himself.
New thread here:>>28305262
