You smile at Russells- its nice of him to invite you tonight and it's amazing that he thinks as highly about your knowledge of tanks as he does, but you already know a way that you'll be far more useful to the team. "You know, I've actually got plans tonight!" You say, rubbing the back of your neck. Russells and Miho look at each other- that wasn't exactly what they were expecting. "I know, right?!" You say. "Don't worry! You guys can get some basic plans started and I'll do some research on my own and see if I can narrow down what they'll be using!" You smile broadly and salute them! You are Yukari Akiyama, loader for Oorai's PanzerKampfwagon Mk. IV and, unbeknownst to Russells and your Commander, you have volunteered for one of the most dangerous tasks in any war.Espionage. You'll need guile, intelligence and the ability to talk your way in and out of any situation. You'll need gadgets, disguises and nerves of cold steel. At least thats what all the spy books you've read say you need. You're pretty sure you can get a lot of that from you room, anyway. Also a few people owe you some favors."Guess I'll save some chili for you then." Russells says, shrugging. "With all the spices he puts in it, the stuff doesn't have a shelf-life so much as a half-life." You giggle a bit at the joke, but as you walk away, you have work to do!>We need a disguise.>We need gadgets.>Other.

Obviously, you can't just waltz onto Saunders' schoolship dressed in a Oorai uniform. You're going to need two things to even get on board- transport and great disguise. Luckily, as a plan forms in your head, the two go hand-in-hand. You pull out your phone and send a text to a classmate.'Calling in my favor- need to borrow your work uniform for the summer." You type furiously into the phone. Asuka had been having a lot of trouble studying for history last semester and, if not your your tutoring, likely would've done about as well in that class as a 5cm-armed Panzer III against a Model-1942 KV tank! But the really important part was that she had a job working in a convenience store over the summer. The same convenience store had stores on several carriers as well as transport ships to supply them.It takes a few minutes but you get a reply- "What? I guess..." You smile. Asuka was pretty close to your size too, so it won't look odd. This is already starting to come together! You swing by her house, only a few blocks away from your parents' house.Knocking on the door Asuka answers. "The uniform?" You say, curtly, already falling into the style of speech all the spies always used in your books."Bah!" She says, handing you the red, blue and white uniforum. "You can keep it!" She says, practically spitting on the ground. "I wouldn't work there again if they paid me!">Alright, now we just need gadgets.>Time is of the essence! We can acquire tools when we get there!>Other.

>>27835440So sue me for remembering it wrong.
Gadgets.Obviously you won't have access to laser-watches or dart-firing-cigerettes, but you've got a few things at home that you're going to need. "Mom! Dad! I'm home!" You call as you walk up the stairs besides your father's barbarshop. As you turn into the house, your parents are watching TV."How was school?" Your mother asks- you've learned she doesn't accept short answers to that question. She always wants specifics and she will hound you all night until she gets them."Great!" You say, pulling off your backpack and kicking off your shoes. "We found out we're going to be going against Saunders in the first round of the Senshado tournement!" You say, excited just to repeat it to someone. "They're really good!" You put on your slippers and head up to your room, and your parents turn back to the news. You've got a few things you're going to need in here. First, since this is going to be an overnight mission, you pack a wool blanket. Over this you carefully place the borrowed uniform and a book Russells recommended- Death Traps. You'd had trouble finding it even in English, but it was fascinating stuff. You also throw in a day's worth of MRE and some bottled water- you keep a supply of both under your bed. With the basics covered, you turn to your specialist gear- first the neat little button camera you'd ordered last year- it was tiny and blended right into most every day clothing. You also pack a tiny hand-held spy camera, again ordered from the same catalogues you bought MREs and tank models from quarterly. You'd need to take plenty of photos and video while you were there and you needed to do so discreetly."Where do you think you're going, young lady?" You father asks, standing in the doorway.>Hanging out with some of the girls from the senshado team!>Going over to Russell's house for dinner!>Other.
>>27835683>>Hanging out with some of the girls from the senshado team!SLEEPOVER TIEM!

>>27835683>Hanging out with some of the girls from the senshado team!
>>27835683>>Hanging out with some of the girls from the senshado team! Also explain it will involve a sleepover. I think the parents would go for that explanation for our overnight mission much more than going over Russels', regardless of how humorous their reaction will be.
>>27835683>>Hanging out with some of the girls from the senshado team!Technically, we're not lying--since we *are* gonna hang out with members of *a* Senshado team.

"Oh! Just going to hang out with the girls from my crew over at the hanger!" You say, looking at him reassuringly. You don't like lying to your dad- he trusts you a lot- but he'd never allow you to do what you have planned. "I'll probably sleep over!" You say, hoping he believes you- it's actually a plausible story, which means you just have to sell it."Oh?" He says, looking at you. "Will there be any boys there?" You blush with embarassment. "No! No way." You say, waving your hands in front of you. "Just the girls from the Panzer crew. No boys at all!"He smiles knowingly. "Sure." He says simply. "I thought you had practice in the mornings." He says, testing your story. You nod. "We all do! We're going to practice together in the morning!" You nod again, emphatically. He looks you in the eye. "And you're sure there's not going to be a boy there?" He says- he's really testing you on this way. You nod- you're sure. "You're really sure?" He says again, cocking his head."Really really sure, Dad! There will be no boys! Just girls. And a panzer." You say, as he finally seems to believe you."Alright. If you want to come home just give me a call." He says, pulling back from the door. You blush in embarassment- it had only happened once at your first sleepoever when you were seven and he never lets you forget how you couldn't sleep without your panzer toy with you and you had to come home.>Commense mission!>Did we forget anything?

You think you're ready- short of some lockpicks (You'd learned to pick a lock with a hairpin long ago...) and Chloroform. (The last time you'd attempted to make it, your dad had to ventilate the kitchen for three days!) You've got all the basics, you've got all the specifics. You're pretty sure you're ready.Well, as ready as you can be not knowing exactly what's in store for you. It's not a long walk to the supply docks along the side of the ship- most of the time Oorai was anchored a few miles off the coast- keeping a huge ship like it moving cost a terrific amount of energy, with a steady stream of smaller supply boats and ferries coming and going. You simply wait for the next ferry heading back to town.A few hours later you're hiding among some crates on the docks- it's odd how steady the ground is beneith you on dry land. You look down at your phone- you'd gotten all the supply ships' schedules, and found which ships would be going to and from Saunders' school carrier and when. The ship in front of you is just one of those supply ships.>Change into your first disguise and bluff your way on.>Try to sneak on with the cargo.>Other.

It's getting dark, so it's easy for you to slip through the shadows of the dock, moving among workers and avoiding lights until you finally find a large, partially full shipping container as you slip inside, you close the door behind you, making it appear from the outside as if it were properly locked and secured. It takes about an hour for you to feel the workers attach chains and hooks to the container, allowing it to be lifted up onto the transport ship and before long you're set down in the boat's cargo hold. As you wait in the darkness, you open your bag and remove the wool blanket- it's already getting cold. You feel around in the pockets for your little LED penlight and fumble with it until you're able turn it on and look around the container- you're standing in a hollow about eight feed deep from the opening- the wall is made up of dozens of boxes marked for delivery to Saunders' Academy.>What's in the boxes?>Leave no trace of your passing!>Let's get out of here and out onto the boat!>Other.

>>27837850Look on top of the box; there should be a label with delivery information that would be helpful.
Your natural curiosity compells you to open a box and find out whats inside, but you supress it- you need to keep the evidence of your presence to a minimum and suddenly-opened-boxes would certain draw attention to a potential stowaway. You bite your lip- just look at the manifest, Yukari. They won't know if you read the outside of the boxes! You shine your light onto a sticker on the side of the box- it's definately clothing- you recognize the brand as the same brand that makes Oorai's school uniforms. Having a Saunders school uniform would be really useful later on, but you'll have to cross that bridge when you come to it.Instead, you set your pen light into latern-mode and pull out your video camera. You've got a few hours before the ship gets to Saunders' carrier, so you might as well start your log of the mission. You set the camera down where it points up at you.You take a breath and speak quietly into the camera. "Yukari Akiyama reporting! I've infiltrated a transport ship heading to Saunders' University's schoolship." You take a breath, thinking of what to say next. "My mission is to gather intelligence on the numbers and disposition of Saunders' panzers. To do this I will daringly infiltrate their school and, if all goes well, sneak into one of their senshado club meetings!"You nods and salute. "I hope you'll wish me luck on this dangerous assignment!"

Only 140 replies this thread, huh?Well, he's the next part of Sheilas and Sentinels>last timehttp://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/27749631/#p27755632- - - - -After the storm had cleared up somewhat, recovery vehicles had come to collect the "killed" tanks, as well as the final survivor. It had been a surprise to everyone when Danielle's sentinel tank had appeared from the rain and dispatched the Cromwells with two quick shots to each of their rears. Danielle and her crew had found a disused iron and wood bridge that hadn't been on anyone's maps. Unsure as to whether the bridge could take the Sentinel's thirty one ton weight, Danielle had gambled and told her driver to go for it. They made it. After that, they had managed to catch a position update while listening in on the radio, and caught up to the team just as they ran into the enemy. It was a close save and a once in a lifetime opportunity.Danielle hid her grin well as the teams were riding the bus back to the warm confines of civilisation, but Alysha could see it in her eyes. She decided to have some fun with it. She leaned over the back of her chair and stared at Danielle. "You look pretty smug.""I have no idea what you're talking about," Danielle replied, but the dam burst and she let her grin out in full force."Don't worry Danni, you're allowed to be proud." Alysha shared in her grin. "We were burnt toast when you showed up. To be honest I completely forgot about you when we got to that point; I thought we'd lost the moment our tanks got hit. But then, kaboom! The Crommies have gone up in smoke and the radio's saying we win! And out of the bloody smoke and rain you guys come out and it's like the Armoured Angel of Death. Real cinematic or something."Dannielle laughed. "I had help, you know." >1/?
>>27839484Her gunner, Reese, who was sitting beside her, piped up. "Danni was yelling and screaming at me to get a move on. I had to wait for Rob to load another shell after I got the first one, which thankfully he did in record time. It was pretty scary when the other Cromwell realised we were behind them. The turret began turning, and that 75mm is /huge/. We nailed them before they could get us, but it was pretty nerve-wracking and everyone was yelling.""It was the same in our tank," Alysha replied. "But much worse. Vin Diesel over there drove our tank into theirs at a bloody hundred miles per hour, and I bashed my head against the front of the turret.""Ouch.""We were only going thirty, you foul woman," Vincent piped up from a couple seats away."Anyway," Aly continued. "I smacked my head, and saw stars, and while I was out of it Ellie and Sarah took de facto control of the tank. They did a horrible job." She got glares from her crew mates and rolled her eyes. "Okay, they did alright. But we were all too surprised to react accordingly to two tanks appearing out of a storm and everyone just kinda panicked. And then bang! We were out of the game.""'Least it was practice," Danni said. "Wouldn't want that happening in a real match.""Too right."The crews of both teams all sat or stood in a rough semi-circle facing the team captain, Josh. He was the commander of the lead Cromwell on the team, and the team commander during matches when the team wasn't practicing against itself."Good match, guys. Aly, nice work getting out of that ambush we set up for you. I feel like one day you'll be a better commander than I am, but you /did/ fall for the bait in the first place, so you got a little while to go.""Hmph," She waved him off dismissively. "Not that long 'til I'll be team captain and doing your job.""Good. Means you get all the paperwork.""Eugh!" Everyone laughed.>2/?
>>27839495Josh clapped his hands together. "Anyway, I reckon that was good practice for severe storm conditions. We'll go over tactics for next time when we meet again on Monday after school. Again, good job everyone, and have a nice weekend. I gotta talk with the sentinel crews though, so you guys stay behind."Half of the team filed out of the clubroom, chatting with each other and saying their round of good byes. Only the crew members of the Sentinel platoon stayed where they were."Right Josh, what's this about?" Aly asked, being the leader of "Two Platoon"."We've gotten a pretty good offer for overseas competition. They're offering to pay something like fifteen thousand dollars in order to have our crews play over there.""Wait, who wants us where?" Murrie asked."It's a Japanese school with a Tanking team modelled after Australia. They call themselves the "Koala Academy" or something."Aly placed her head in the palm of her hand. "What bloody dickhead would call themselves the... Wait, you said Japan, right? Ain't the Japs the crazy bastards who put their all girls' schools on super carriers?""Yep. And they're paying a shitload of money for /us/ to join them."Aly paused for a moment. "There are too many questions to ask!" she cried exasperatedly.>3/?
>>27839503Murrie raised her hand. "They want the whole team, Josh?""Nope. Only the Sentinels. The school's captain wants to keep it 'authentic'.""Why us?" Danielle asked, breaking her silence. "Why not the current champions, Sydney College? We haven't exactly been hot shit this year.""We still made it to the semi-finals. Besides, before this year, we were national champions two years in a row and we're on a five year streak in state and interschool. In addition to that, James Cook Academy also has the highest scores in Japanese in Queensland, so it's not like none of you can speak the language. And the school's Senshado captain might also maybe be my long-distance-internet-pal-slash-girlfriend-not-that-it-matters."Everyone in the room stared at Josh. Josh stared wildly back."Um. I didn't say that." Silence. "Yeah so you'll be going up there and you'll be playing for the Koala school for a full season which is like four months or something and you'll be staying on the school's carrier and stuff. And before you ask, yes this is allowed. Apparently the British school recruited a tank and a crew from Yankeeland, and now everyone's been scrambling to get their hands on an edge of their own. And for the Aussie school, why not get a bunch of Aussies?"Alysha slumped in her chair, and everyone else reacted to the news in their own way. "Bugger me," she muttered.>4/?
>>27839511"So what'll it be?" Josh asked. "The school is fine with it since you'll be studying over there anyway, but of course we gotta send notes and get permission from your parents and all that. But I wanna hear you guys' opinion first. So?"There was silence for a moment. "Hell fuckin' yeah!" shouted Murrie. There were similar if not as boisterous choruses of agreement from the crews of all the Sentinels until only Aly was left, still slumped over and staring straight up."Aly?" Josh prompted."Well it's not like I can't go after everyone else's said yes, so fuck it." She looked back to Josh and gave him a thumbs up. "I'm a yes, so that makes it all for one and one for all; the fourteen musketeers! Yaaaaay!" She was joined by other half-hearted whoops and yells, the sarcastic kind, and everyone laughed at their own silliness."Righto everyone, just take these forms back to your folks and have a chat with them about it. The forms have got all the info and a permission slip, and itinerary and all that so you should be good to go. I'll see everyone on Monday."Josh caught Aly at the door as she was leaving. "Hey Aly, let's walk home together, it's been a while.""Sure.">5/5Until next time, guys.
