>>27796848TRULY A MAGNIFICENT THREADTHIS WILL BE THE ONE TO BE REMEMBERED THROUGH THE AGES
>>27796848>reposting from last threadWould anybody be interested in a quest based in Deathworld?(http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Deathworld)Summary from the article: "Deathworld roughly follows our own timeline, up until the Second World War. The Nazis begin their invasion of Western Europe, just as in our world, but for some undetermined reason, Hitler never made the fatal mistake of invading the Soviet Union. This allowed the Nazi war machine to consolidate its grip on Fortress Europe, as well as successfully invading Britain. The uneasy peace lasted up until both sides invaded America which had maintained its glorious isolation during the war in Europe. The Nazis now control the Eastern Seaboard and the Soviets control the West, with a large No-Man's-Land between them, devastated by the war between them. These two super-powers are once again in an uneasy peace, but tensions are high. War back in Europe is mostly prevented by the massive fortifications both sides have built up. The real battlegrounds are elsewhere, in South America and Africa, as well as in the contested central United States.Worse yet, the Soviets and Nazis, despite their dehumanizing superscience and demonology, are amongst the only powers able to truthfully claim that they are ruled by humans. Their opponents, supposedly "free" are ruled by alien horrors, spirits, Fae beings, and the long dead, if not some combination of the above. Will humanity enslave itself to undo these evils? Or will it be obliterated in the fires of hell and atom?"I've really taken a liking to the setting, and think it'd be neat to run a quest in it.
>>27797114replace the worm with more hooks, and we've got a new OP
>>27796848Hey all, tomorrow I'm running my quest, Going underway, finding out horrible truths, and breaking our assistant!
>>27797133Fuck you, I've never read your quest but what the fuck do you think this thread is, the quest general or something? I hate you and your quest already.
>>27797130I've done the best I can.
>>27797292The fish need their own hooks too.
>>27797292it's a thing of beauty.
>>27797328That's beyond my very limited skills. Sorry anon.
>>27797292Well done, anon. Saved.
>>27797237Calm down spacemate.I wanted to discuss what players like and do not like about side characters/personalities.
>>27797402quicktip:Run. Flee. QTG will get thee.
>>27797261Currently running HPNQ for those of you who wish to join.>trashy fanfic general
>>27797426You mean ADORABLE trashy fanfic.
>>27797402I like characters with character. And is believable. And not pedo. Unlike Shadow
>Shadow is a pedo edition>meet little girl>spend short time with little girl>little girl moves to foreign country to attend boarding school>eleven years later, you visit her in her country>she's grown into a smoking hot woman>you fall in love with each other and return to your country togetherHow is that pedo?
>>27797690Someone actually fell for such obvious bait.
>>27797690Because she was a little girl then 24 hours later she was a grown-ish woman.
>>27797402The QTG is a center of anti-questfaggotry. The last thing the people here want to do is help a new quest.
>>27797690How about the fact that Shadow('s current consciousness) is actually younger than Abigail?
>>27797711It was actually 11 years or 2-3 months from the perspective of the characters in question, though.
>>27797709People actually believe it, though. Whether it's bait or not is irrelevant.>>27797711>24 hours laterExcept it wasn't. Abby lived in the Archonium for 11 years.
>>27797739It doesn't really matter if people believe it or not. It was a very weird and awkward thing that happened that could be considered pedo or not depending on how you look at it. Those who don't like it are calling it pedo. Those who are fine with it aren't calling it pedo. It's just a difference in opinion that's affecting how they see events of the quest. It's pointless to argue over whether it's pedo or not because that's not really the real problem. It's people liking or not liking things.
>>27797731>>27797739>11 YearsYou don't know that. You only have her crazy yandere love-spiked words to go on.It's pretty creepy how quickly /you/ can all go from seeing her as a little girl though.
>>27797728>there will never be porn of Shadow fucking loli Abby, then Abby hyperaging and /ss/ing Shadow
>>27797806It actually happened rather gradually. When she first asked we were all "I don't know, this is confusing" and she agreed and they decided to just wait and see what happens. Then 20 threads later something happened.
>>2779783124 hours is gradual?
>>27797806That and everyone else that's been through the Archonium and our own time-dilated experience.
>>27797856No, but 20 threads is.
>>27797856Did you not pay attention to what I said? They decided to hold off after getting out of the Archonium. It wasn't until after the whole thing at Xile and then going back to Archon that anything happened.
Salem Institute Quest is starting (finally)!>>27797888
>>27797806Ask SM for word-of-god. Then will you stop bitching?>It's pretty creepy how quickly /you/ can all go from seeing her as a little girl though. So if there was a normal, unambiguous eleven year time-skip, you would insist that Abby is still a little girl because you didn't have to literally read through eleven years' worth of story? That sounds like a personal problem, anon, and I highly suggest seeking professional medical help. Also,>implying I actually read Shadow QuestNope. I was curious about all the hubbub, so I just went over the relevant information to see if the cries of pedo were justified. They weren't.
>>27797806They are all pedos, there is no point in continuing this discussion.>Shadow gained his humanity through embracing pedophilia>Abby spent ELEVEN years unhealthily obsessed Shadow. The people left in Shadow Quests are not someone i would like to meet in person.
>>27797991Much too overt, anon. You need to be more subtle.
>>27797991You make several compelling points. She's spent 11 years lusting after a clearly autistic creature. What is wrong with the players?
>>27797928>normal, unambiguous eleven year time-skip,That would be fine because that's a lot longer than 24 hours.
Now I want to know how shoving a child in a magical Make-a-Waifu closet suddenly makes fucking her okay. She has been alone and unsocialized for 11 years, meaning the mentally she is still a child, if she hasn't degraded into full on feral child by now. In fact, wanting to fuck the not-child Abby is even worse, because she is literally brain damaged and insane now.
>>27798040Not to mentioned (as oft mentioned by the NO PEDOPHILIA players) she barely spent time with him. There is clearly something wrong about someone who spends a few days with a person and later spends 11 years lusting after said person. And even more wrong about someone who thinks, "I want to hit that."Anyway, we should not continue this discussion on /qtg/ is shits up the thread.
>>27798086Now you're just making assumptions that goes against established shit.
>>27798086I tried to warn them, Anon. They didn't listen. But! It's all okay! Because SM is going to kill everyone soon enough hopefully!
>>27798086But it's fiiiine, I mean really, it's just fine. What in the world is there to even argue about? It's just a story m8.
>>27798141What does posting screencaps from a clearly obvious troll out of context prove?
>>27798161It's worrying when a troll's dialogue is better than 99% of player suggested things.
>>27798161Exactly that people should treat it as a story and stop taking things on the internet so seriously.Because it's honestly very silly.
>>27798180I like you, anon. You're hilarious.
>>27798040>Tfw you remember that Abby could make anything real in fantasy-matrix world>Tfw you realize that she made a lifelike copy of shadow to keep her company>tfw you she made it plow her>Tfw she rationalized it by calling it "mastrubation"Every day for eleven years.sometimes she would get kinky and summon several Shadows at once.
>>27798161Do you know it's a troll?
>>27798216Well, if he isn't then he's harem protagonist-tier dense because everyone yells at him when he starts that shit and his typical response is basically "y u mad tho?"
>>27798212>anything she could imagine became real>she probably experimented with nipple-fucks and cum inflation and all that other hentai shit that cant happen in real lifeSQs dialogue is on par with your average hentai as it is.
>>27798239So, your average questgoer.
>>27798251>and all that disgusting shit she did with all those beastmen
>>27798251>Shitty dialogueI keep saying this, but every time I hear about this quest, goddamn. bad dialogue in a character driven quest? Fuck that. Though sadly that limits me to bromquests.
>>27798284>she NTRd ArchoniShadow, just to make him want/love her more
>>27798293Shitty compared to regular fiction maybe. Considering that it's in a thread on 4chan, being written on the spot, it's pretty high quality.
>>27798067The anon I quoted was referring to the players' perception of Abby, not Shadow's.>>27798086>alone and unsocialized for 11 years>mentally still a childPretty sure that's not how brains work, anon. I'll give you that she's probably a little crazy, but you'd have to be at least a little off your rocker to love an eldritch god.>>27798107>And even more wrong about someone who thinks, "I want to hit that."But crazy girls make the best lays, anon. It is known. Falling in love with them, however, is generally not a good idea.It seems to me that the people crying about pedo see Shadow as some kind of self-insert wish-fulfilment, when they should really see him as a character in a story. As a random example, Fight Club's relationship between the narrator and Marla was super fucked up on so many levels, but it made for an interesting story and a believable, sweet romance. Writing it didn't make Palahniuk a bad person, and enjoying it doesn't make the readers bad people.
>>27798293He's making shit up. I'd put SM as one of the few QMs who actually knows how to write decent character interaction. Player suggestions can be terrible but SM doesn't take the bad ones.
>>27798311Comparatively, this shit over there is indeed less shit than this slightly shittier shit over here.Let us celebrate the almost not but still shitty, for all we have is shittier.
>>27798317>Pretty sure that's not how brains work, anonTheyre not, which is why I said it was the BEST possible outcome of her being shut in a vacuum for 11 years that you could hope for.
>>27798317But you are not controlling the actions of Narrator and the whole point of that relationship is how fucked up it is. Meanwhile, the anons in SQ seem to think theres nothing at all fucked up about the Abbey situation.
>>27798351I think you're forgetting the magical world part and the fact that the device is literally designed to make a person come out of it without any internal conflicts holding them back anymore by pitting their different desires and such against each other. It's a magical grow up device in every sense of the word, not a magical mind fuck vacuum.
>>27798385But there IS nothing wrong with it. You're just exaggerating nonsense to bait people that MIGHT take you seriously. Lost cause.
>>27798393>It's a magical grow up device in every sense of the word>B-but it's totally normal and healthy!k
>>27798393Okay, so she is a child who has been shoved into a Magical Girl Pitfighting Arena against herself and has been doing this for 11 years with no one else around. Thats MUCH better.
>>27798385Look, I know it's a messed up relationship. But everyone in this thread is pretending it's a different kind of messed up just because they're mad about it.
>>27798418>>27798442>this relationship is supposed to be fucked up, it fits the character!>theres nothing wrong with my waifu you slut!Make up your mind.
>>27798317>It seems to me that the people crying about pedo see Shadow as some kind of self-insert wish-fulfilment, when they should really see him as a character in a story. For me reading stories and watching movies usually involves a great deal of empathy. I get lost in the story, for a time i become the character. I assume this happens to other people as well. Each time i read shadow quest i felt with Shadow's decisions. they were all rational, to a point. That point were the pedophilia shit.I can enjoy watching movies about people being crazy and shit. Because they are believable. In my case i couldn't read Shadow Quest anymore because i could empathize with Shadow anymore.>>27798418Stop baiting.
Let us reflect that while, yes, this is a bit fucked up, it's not as fucked up as shoving (season 1) Nanoha into a time warp to fuck (season 3) Nanoha. Goddamnit, MSQ.
>>27798385Two incredibly damaged people falling in love isn't pedo or wrong. It's just fucked up.
>>27798450What I'm saying is that you're exaggerating. She has problems, but they aren't nearly as big or even the one's you're claiming them to be.
>>27798450>>this relationship is supposed to be fucked up, it fits the character!>>theres nothing wrong with my waifu you slut! It's not like these two are mutually exclusive.
>>27798442Ding ding ding, we have a fucking winner.
>>27798442Or possibly its both kinds of fucked up, but you are okay with only one of those types so you try to rationalize the other one away.
>>27798393>the device is literally designed to make a person come out of it without any internal conflicts holding them back>kills 90% of users and drives the rest insaneWAY TO GO, WIZZERDS.
>>27798458What if it's three such people? It's a watermelon.
>>27798492Abby isn't mentally a child or some kind of insane feral person like that person was claiming her to be. There's evidence that contradicts that. Fuck, she's more mature than fucking Shadow is.
>>27798519She's more mature than SM is, for that matter.
>>27798515>implying watermelons don't make the best romantic partners
>>27798534Oh come on, even I'm not that bad.
>>27798466Yeah, man. Being a child and all? Pfft, that's not a problem.
do you think we get a SQ thread today with all this arguing???
>>27798548He occasionally has the players help him with dialogue, as well.
>>27798566Eh, who knows? Abby has been put on a bus, anyway so it's not like this matters to the thread.>>27798570Everyone hated that response and you know it.
>>27798566After concluding that Shadow is a pedo and Abby is yandere but some people think that's okay?
>>27798570That wasn't even used.
>>27798595It's not like this exact conversation hasn't happened plenty of times before.
How would you guys enjoy a Blatant Magical Realm quest?
>>27798684Depends. What is in your magical realm, anon?
>>27798684Not into watersports, so I'd best enjoy it filtered out of my sight.
>>27798684I liked Plump Grabbable Ass Quest so I guess if it was like that over BFQ I'd enjoy it.Though PGAQ kind of had the problem of too often fighting it's magical realm nature.
>>27798472Anon who referenced Fight Club here. I was going to bring Saya no Uta up originally, but SnU's pedo-vibes would have been too low-hanging a fruit for anons.>>27798548>>27798534But that's half of what makes SM such a good QM.
Looking at starting up a quest. Would anyone play a Jagged Alliance 2 inspired quest set in a slightly alternate 90s universe?Command mercenaries, travel the world, fight other people's wars for profit, get tons of loot.
>>27798684establish your magical realm quickly, after the second thread you'll bust or have a following
>>27798715But Ass Quest was probably the most interesting setting of any recent quest. Oeople love to wank on Lamia Quest for being traditional adventure, but Ass Quest did that aspect so much better. >inb4 people call this post baitIts fucking true and you know it. Even the relationships were more well developed than all recent quests.
>>27798906It was a good quest, it's a damn shame it died.
>>27798700It's the magical realm to end all magical realms. It lacks nothing. There is not a single thing from monstergirl les mindrape dom transformation circuses to forced eating various bodily wastes and fluids to guro fixated shota demons fighting BDSM fixated pure moe angel lolis to humanized animalia fighting for territory and dominance with irrelevant kingdoms and empires founded on virtues of deviant sluttery that fight with engineered diseases and godly levels of magic that reshape peoples and parts of the world into festering sicknesses that invade the body and mind in terrible ways while the gods of the setting embody only the best of the worst aspects of all these things and compete in the central world by divine proxies while sometimes the pure psychological aspects of these matters infest lands so deeply and the world responds in kind and everything otherwise and inbetween that I can't state cleanly in one post. The MC would be just some random joe forced into the world from a much saner place....Dare you enter my magical realm?
>>27798906go on. You've claimed it's a great adventure story.Tell me why.
>>27798944I'll believe it when I see it, anon.
>>27798906Woah, man. I like Ass quest to and sort of agree with you but don't throw around absolute statements like that. You knew people might consider what you wrote as bait and you just went right on and declared it better than other quests instead of just detailing it's own merits over comparison.
>>27798959the only reason he mentioned other quests was to troll. you can tell by how he used "wanking".
>>27798944Is there a secretly village of deviants who only do it in the missionary position, lights off, under the covers for the sole purpose of procreation?
>>27798953The good ones always die. A good quest rarely gets more than ~30 installments.
>>27798990>it's good because it diedThat's a terribly terribly unconvincing argument.
>>27798974Two, actually. However one is just that with an edge of fire tricks, and the other that is inbred cannibals.
>>27799007Even most of the completed quests worth reading rarely make it to 30 threads.
>>27798974That'd be the equivalent of waking Cthulhu. A forbidden ritual that rends reality asunder in an apocalyptic calamity.
>>27799027Is this also the same effect that /a/ talks about when mangas go on for much longer than they should?
>>27799027you're failing to convince me, and instead just repeating a claim that I disagree with.
>>27798973Nah, its just my opinion. I don't give a fuck what you think of it or Ass Quest, though I do feel slightly bad about souring Ass Quest for you guys by being a bit of a jackass. I needed to get that off my chest all the same, though.
>>27799034This begs the question, woould cthulhu be seen as a sex symbol in this world?
>>27799057get what off your chest? that assquest is bestquest? Rude.
>>27799040Most likely. Take Lamia Quest, for example. The second act dragged on like fuck since it was clear that Echo was just in it for the attention at that point. Or MGNQ. MGNQ is just a clusterfuck that doesn't know what to do with itself.
>>27799034No most certainly not. Apocalyptic calamities from forbidden rituals (generally) take much more "fluid energy" than those kinds of methods would be able to provide.>>27799060One of the lesser deities comes close.
>>27799083I guess the king in yellow will take on a whole new role in this world.
>>27799081Why must you speak in half truths, anon?
>>27799053Not that guy but I'll give an attempt at why I think the quest is good. The theme of the quest is "it's not about change, it's about choice." The main character grows to like the changes to himself, or at least some of them, and becomes comfortable with his new life since, as an adventurer, it's not all that different from the one he wanted. However, the cursed artifact he's got keeps trying to force more changes he wouldn't be comfortable with on him. It's kind of a fight between magical temptation and legitimate desire for something.
>>27799115Because they force you to seek the whole truth for yourself instead of relying on others.Fucking 4chan image fuckery
>>27799081I miss zeon quest, no waifu, no downtime, only heroism and teacup, it even ended instead of dying.
>>27799137well, for the sake of that then, LQ slowed down mostly because of trying to switch playstyle from an adventure-y type thing to an empire building type thing. It sped right back up and then finished when it switched back to adventure.
>>27799122Also, the more erotic bits are either sectioned off in pastebins or in "could have beens". I think only twice did the dress get what it wanted. Maybe three times.
>>27799122I have no idea what even the premise is man, start over.>>27799169I think I had that on my list to read. Wasn't it like a billion fucking episodes long?
>>27799205I think it's two year worth of threads.
>>27799184It never really recovered, though, and the narrative was really lacking for the entire second arc. Maybe Echo wasn't phoning it in, though, and his writing was just legitimately that bad.
>>27799221yeah, I'm not complaining at its length, it's just... you know... eesh.I'm sure I'll appreciate how long it is once I get into it.
>>27799225things like "phoning it in" and "he's legitimately bad" are really not helpful criticisms for people trying to learn from this, anon.Things like "Changing style of play mid game may be damaging to your pacing" might be more useful.
>>27799186Well, that exhibitionism in the bathhouse was sort of the character and the dress both getting what they wanted at the same time. Though the MC beat down it's influence to be assured it was him making the decision.>>27799205MC wants to be adventurer. Gets cursed by erotic artifact that gives him crazy magic powers at the cost of transforming him into a girl and doing even more crazy transformations if he lets it. Goes on an adventure to get rid of the curse. Decides the circumstances of his adventuring career aren't that bad as long as he can find a way to get the voices in his head to stop.
>>27799234The only downside is that there's a lot of Meta going around, but apologized did a good job challenging the players at every turn.
The funniest part about all the people getting buttrustled over Lamia Quest is that the original writefaggotry was typical /tg/ drivel, and surely no better than whatever the quest was.
>>27799324the writefaggotry was pretty good for /tg/the quest was pretty good for /tg/I generally like the things I see and am happy with the state of thingsIf slightly bored between interesting threads
>>27798856That sounds awesome.
>>27799324The writefaggotry was cutesy and shortThe quest was pretentious, angsty, and drawn out like fuck
>>27799370>>27798856I'd have been way into it a long time ago, but I since then discovered silent storm, and now can't play strategy games that don't involve wacky nazi science and maybe mechs.
Any quests worth mentioning that have original settings and are new and currently trying to get started?
>>27799406>worth metioningAh I have->that have original settingsOh, well, There's still some I li->and are new and currently trying to get startedhm.
>>27799406Lost Empire isn't totally dead yet. Search it on Foolz, I have it on good authority Lost isn't, well, lost.
>>27799398There's wacky non-nazi science in Jagged Alliance 2. No mechs, though.
>>27799467>I have it on good authority Lost isn't, well, lost. But he is EGO, and EGO is notorious for dropping quests, so do be careful. He also might get abruptly banned for trolling his own quest.
>>27799467I tried to jump in to save it when the QM came to the QTG to complain that all his players had left him, but it was so dull and uninspired that even in the middle of a battle scene I couldn't care what the outcome was and left/
>>27799406Entity Quest has just gotten started.
>>27799533Thank you, I'll take a look. Though you should know that I only asked because I feel the need to break something innocent.
>>27799505battle scenes are always the least fun to me, even in quests with the better battles.
>>27799545Favorite Battle Scene in any quest thus far has been in one of the Fanfic quests.Ichigo vs Harribel from Bleach Quest
>>27799545This seemed to be something along the lines of "You're best friend is bleeding out, you should do something to save him!" Then four equally unappealing and uninspired radio buttons.
>>27799573I haven't read Bleach Quest, that being said my favorite fight scenes are probably from Joker Quest and Totemist Quest.
>>27799603I always fight the fights in Totemist to be so incredibly dramatic. It's like TTGL but in a magical world where choices make power. I like it.
>>27799581bleh, that's one of my less favorite battle types even.Though, I don't like battle even in tabletop. These types of mechanics just aren't fun to me unless you pass the majority of it off to a computer.

>>27799786And Im pretty sure anyone who cares is glued to his twitter, as >>27799734 >>27799739 and >>27799743 proves
>>27799786Someone was talking about how the thread was cancelled. I was just proving him wrong. He already announced his own damn quest when he made the twitter post, numbnuts.
>>27799786Someone literally just posted to gloat that SM was a no-show. It's delicious come-uppance.
>>27799786What has me worried is "laying down the narrative dump," that just reeks of CHOICES and CONSEQUENCES.What on earth could he possibly mean?
So, what quest would people like to see? Sadly, I am not really a good enough writer to run a quest.I, for one, would like to see the following:>Reboot questWith the possibility to play either a guardian, a virus or some net mutant.>Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne questThat would basically run itself.>Final Fantasy Tactics questYou are an actor in the war of the two lions. Betrayal, betrayal, more betrayal and cheesy speeches.
>>27799792I dunno, his depiction of pedophiliac autists is pretty spot on.
>>27799827...more fanfic quests?
>>27799826We were finally going to see the Elf Queen and figure out some of that shit so that's what we'll be figuring out I'm assuming.
>>27799816>Someone was talking about how the thread was cancelled.Where? I don't see it, and you didn't quote it. All I saw was the same shit posted three times. I don't care whether SQ is good or not, I'm tired of hearing about it and it being the only subject around here.
>>27799853This guy.>>27799687He deleted the post.
>>27799827>Reboot questShit.>Nocturne questmite b kool>FFT questAll the roles in that story have been cast. There'd be no way to write a quest for it without shoehorning in a Gary Stu or hijacking an established character.
>>27799827robot defense quest. You are the protectron 3,000. It is your job to defend the local humans from harm. strangely enough, the more I hear about BFQ, the more I want to read it.It's like the opposite of the standard QTG effect on a quest.
>>27800123Indeed. The only explanation is that it's not nearly as exciting as people make it out to be.
>>27800123>>27800150The times when things actually happen are interesting. Most of the time, things didn't happen. The QM ran it while they were working, and it was slow as everloving fuck.It could be compressed down very much very easily. Much bloat from stupid arguments and slow pace. But the QM was actually pretty ok at dialog. Not the best, but far from the worst.
>>27800123There's really not much point reading it now that it's over, to be perfectly honest.A good deal of the fun was dealing with the other players.
>>27800202>heart of power
>>27800224>pain sack>nuclear stomach>wendigo farm>trapify main rival
>>27800253>rock engine>blood rats>feed catfood to our daughter
>>27800275>grenades with legs
If a QM is having trouble with their main quest, is it acceptable to run some one-shots to blow off steam and get their mojo back?
>>27800278>Weaponizing fork-minds by driving them mad through torture
>>27800296That usually backfires when people actually enjoy the one-shots and the QM becomes more motivated to do them over their main quest and turns one of them into a full-time thing. It'ss better to just do some regular writing or play a game with some friends. Get away from /tg/ a while, you know?
>>27800224>>27800253>>27800275>>27800278>>27800304For all of the crazy shit that guy came up with, I think the best one was when he referred to the MC's dad as an 'it' in the contract we had to write until people started bitching about it.That one was like actual autism instead of just hilariously insane
>>27800296Go for it. I'd say it's pretty standard procedure.

>>27802180My choice of waifu didn't win.
>>27802180Someone submitting tryhard suggestions, even if they aren't voted for.
>>27802180Is poor formatting minor? If so, that.
>>27802243All of them.
>>27802180Excessive samefagging, even if it's voting for the same things I am.It's like, why even bother if one person alone is going to drown out everyone else who's involved? It completely defeats the purpose of playing a collective game. The samefag might as well be playing a one on one RPG at that point.
>>27802243Guess.Hint: The QM is still around, and there was a continuous shitstorm for months while it was happening.

>>27802303I have absolutly no idea. The only quest I was heavily invested in just ended.
>>27802315>>27802324Yes.I still feel dirty when I remember that I actually followed that quest.
>>27802348So... You would have been perfectly find if your choice of waifu HAD won?I don't think that's a justifiable position to take, anon.I wanted Summer...
>>27802348Yeah, that waifu war was awful.Which is strange following up SorQ which had the most civil waifu war ever and VaQ, which had a pretty standard waifu war.Well, AscQ hasn't had any waifus at all yet. So that's something.
>>27802348I still find it funny that /tg/ got NTR'd.
Which quest do you follow outside of /tg/?
>>27802348>>27802315Incidentally, its that same issue that instantly turns me off to any quest run by Exabyte. >>27802372>>27802348Well, at least I've learned what NOT to do.>>27802394That's because I make every different quest different. Some are waifu-heavy, some don't have anything. And some are shit, and filled with bad decisions on my own part.

Very strangeVaQ: Standard waifu war.PsiQ: WARGHBLARGLBLARGLBLARGAscQ: No romance options, no waifus. Yet.
>>27802442Your waifu losing is why you haven't read any of Exabutt's quests? What?
>>27802442>And they got so butthurt about it they tried to rewrite time to make their waifu less of a slut.Wouldn't you? I mean, god, who likes sluts?
>>27802508I tihnk sluts is a pretty cool grill. Seh sucks all the cocks and doesnt afraid of any position
>>27802505Not quite. The whole waifu wars/NTR drama thing surrounding psion quest is why I avoid Exabyte. I didn't even participate in that quest, so I didn't have a waifu to lose.
>>27802473Psion Quest was a perfect storm of bad decisions which drew a bad audience, creating a spiralling feedback loop of atrocity. You could literally link a newbie QM to the archive and say "Don't do that" and it would be really good advice. Psion Quest was *bad*.On the other hand, Cyborg Quest was pretty good. I actually quite liked that one.
>>27802508>who likes sluts?/tg/, if psion quest is anything to go by.
>>27802442>its admittedly a pretty petty reason to ignore the guyYeah, it is. That's like deciding you're done with a book series because the author killed a character you like. Actually it's like deciding you're done with anything that author has ever done and will ever do because he killed off a character you likeIt's dumb and so are you. It's a story. It's a FICTIONAL FUCKING STORY.
>>27802442>And they got so butthurt about it they tried to rewrite time to make their waifu less of a slut.thingsthatneverhappened.jpgJust more /qtg/ lies.
>>27802538Putting that aside, nobody likes sluts. QMs, if you are ever in any position to write a female into being a slut, put that notion aside. Forever. Those are terrible people and you've done yourself a disservice by even thinking about it.
>>27802574You are never obligated to give anything to your entertainment. The moment it stops being fun, you are entitled to stop.
>>27802560The protagonist was the slut. The only thing stopping her from casually fucking anyone she considered a friend was the fact that it might hurt their feelings.I think every other character acted pretty reasonably given the circumstances. Except for the thing that made the timetravel retcon shenanigans occur in the first place.
>>27802400From the outside looking in, I can imagine it was fucking hilarious.I was at ground zero. I had tried to pull the quest away from waifuing, at the start, but at that point it was too late and I could only watch as autistic neckbeards raped and burned something I enjoyed reading.
>>27802544PsiQ is honestly Exabyte's worst work. Sorceress Quest, Cyborg Quest and Vale Quest were all much better.Seriously, it's a blot on his otherwise spotless record.I highly recommend that you read his other work and try and participate in Ascent Quest. It's really well done and has an interesting combination of mystery, combat and shenanigans.
>>27802626>I think every other character acted pretty reasonably given the circumstances. What kind of bizarro world do you live in?
>>27802574Read my post again, I never invested myself in psion quest. Its more of after hearing about his quest and seeing its fanbase in action, I decided to have nothing to do with either. Using your analogy, it would be more like seeing some author write some kinda shitty bodice-ripper love novel and decide theyre not worth my time.>>27802584An earnestly proposed idea that gained a lot of traction was using the time chamber thingamajig to stop Slutbones from cheating on the MC. It took Exa telling them no to get them to shut up, but they still wanted to do it. Bad.
>>27802584That one actually did happen. It was a legitimate plan at one point.
>>27802618Sure, but you owe it to yourself to be mature enough of a person to make the reason one that doesn't make you sound like a petulant kid. It just doesn't matter enough to get that upset about.
>>27802634>>27802544I really liked PsionQ's opening. It just sort of quantum devolved into waifuing after a few threads.
>>27802634>Seriously, it's a blot on his otherwise spotless record. As someone who enjoys Exabyte, that's a hilarious joke. Did you even read the beginning of Vale Quest?
>>27802626>The protagonist was the slut./tg/ always plays a slut. This comes as a surprise to exactly no one.
>>27802588>nobody likes slutsBut...but I just said I do, anon.
>>27802656No it didn't.It was mentioned ONCE in the irc as a joke, once in the quest itself, then shot down by Exabyte.
>>27802657There's no maturity or immaturity concerning whether or not you like a piece of entertainment. If you found it disagreeable, you can stop at any time and nobody has the right to tell you otherwise. It can be for anything.
>>27802688>/tg/ always plays a slutReally? It seems like we either lock down a single waifu or go for the harem option.
>>27802699And then exaggerated to hell and back by /qtg/

>>27802685I keep forgetting about that.
>>27802685Or that one quest that only got 2 threads. At least he let that one die when it wasn't working.
>>27802700No there's maturity about WHY you like or dislike something. If I say I like MLP because I enjoy watching it with my daughter as quality time, that's a mature reason. If I say I like MLP because one of ponies is mai waifu, that's an immature reason and I should probably be shot.

>>27802787NFC is excellent.
>>27802790Yeah.I don't remember what it was called. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't going anywhere and everyone knew it, so it was dropped.
>>27802808That was a really good decision on his part.
>>27802766>Bizarre Slime AlternateI'm not going to follow a QM who purposely avoids labeling his quests to spite others. I'm sorry.
>>27802787NFC is pretty solid. Asshole is a one shot, but the guy has done other one shots in that setting.BSA died, probably more sci-fi anyway.'M'GQ is more sci-fi.I know there's at least another two that I'm forgetting.
>>27802787NFC does get pretty sci-fi near the end, and goes balls deep into soft sci-fi in the sequel (Space Cyborg Quest)
>>27802799Just because you're free to do something doesn't make it a good idea. Just because you have a reason doesn't make it a good or just or even valid reason. And if you share your shitty reasons - which you are also free to do - everybody else can tell you that your reasons are shit and that they make you a shit person. They're free to do that too.
>>27802588Tough shit, holmes, I already have some female characters sketched out and you'll like exactly none of them! Ive got a slut addicted to always having the latest and greatest cybernetics, a paranoid shadowrunner who cant into romantic relationships due to her semi-codependent relationship with a giant insectoid alien, a mildly clingy humaboo alien who is literally venomous as well as poisonous, and a former battlewhore, just to name a few.Basically, it will be impossible to form a healthy relationship with anyone ever.
>>27802823It might be my opinion, but I believe that the sheer volume of enjoyment that I get out of reading his work far outweighs the dickishness of his manner on the boards. It's somewhat similar to Ogre Civ in the way that reading through the threads just puts a huge grin on my face and keeps it there for the rest of the day.
>>27802845Their disparaging claims are equally invalid and pretty pointless. All this summed up means that giving a shit about whether or not someone liked or dropped something is fucking stupid.
>>27802860I'll keep an eye out for your quest and shit it up, just because of your incredibly petty attitude right there. Is it petty of me to do so? Yes! But I don't give a fuck.
>>27802868The difference is Blorp is a legitimately cool guy while Bromont is a massive faggot. His writing is cringeworthy and awful, too. It relies way too much on LOLSORANDUMB and LOL, LOOKIT DEM TITTAYS.
>>27802699It was mentioned several times in the quest itself you lying slut.
>>27802180A little girl gets involved.
>>27802916I can see entirely where you are coming from. However I think that the 'poor' style of writing, while technically terrible, forces a strange pace on the reader that makes the whole thing a lot more 'fun' to read. For me, anyway. And yes, Blorp is a pretty legendary guy and Bromont is a faggot. But thankfully I don't have to pick between them.
>>27802926Several times within one thread before getting shut down by Exabyte, maybe.
>>27802860You know, there's a certain level of deliberate contrariness that something can handle before it just becomes stupid. The basic outlines you have posted are already beyond that mark.
>>27802914>>27802957How is it petty for me to want to include maladjusted individuals in my quest? I wouldnt be doing it to spite /tg/, but rather because I find them more fun to write than pure maidos who only do what /tg/ wants em to do. Besides, Ive had these niggas planned out long before your post and I will probably never make the quest anyways, so hah! Wait...
>>27802972For me, your concepts just look like they wandered out of middle school (not in that innocently terrible way) and you should be ashamed.
>>27803013So they're on par with the average quest, then.

Stay with me here: What if a quest written simply for the enjoyment of the QM and his players? What if fun things were simply fun and nobody would get offended by it?
>>27803138The /v/ theory has proven that fun things are not, in fact, fun. Fun is a myth.

>>27805383Well…There WAS a QM who said he'd be killing himself a few QTGs back and he was advised to do what is happening right now. Make of that what you will.
Hey at least don't post pastebins on Ground Crew, Magical Industry and Gunpowder Quest. I really liked those.
>>27805381this is like 90% spoilers. This kills the quests.
Huh.So I only just got back, are you quitting QMing forever and this is you just wanting to get everything out of the way?
Oh, uh, please don't be so dramatic. I'm not suicidal.
Man Lord of Sass was entertaining.Horribly cheesy, but I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed that side story.
>>27805515No, but you are throwing quests away. It's understandable for something that died like Sick Quest, but to kill every single quest you've run in one night? Well past /tg/'s, and your, peak? It's clear you're up late, troubled by things.Don't fuck yourself over because of a bad night, is all I'm asking.
>>27805515Then it's fine. Please proceed.
>>27805515/qtg/ thrives on drama. It was pretty obvious that it would jump all over this gesture. You're not suicidal? So get over your shitty writer's block and don't spoil every single goddamn quest you've ever tried to run. You'll just regret it later. Kill off most of them, fine, so they don't hang over you. But leave a couple of your favorites. Your personal favorites, not whatever the crowd likes to read, but what you like to write.
>>27805515Keep dumping! I want all my notes! All of them!

>>27805515Like an earlier anon said, theres no need for you to burn all your bridges, going back to past works after a pause or indefinite hiatus is not showing a weakness of character, if you enjoy running them, keep them, let people know that you can't or don't want to run them and maybe one day you'll feel like running one again and will, but don't run them into the ground because you don't want to string /tg/ along. Talk to your players about it, let them understand your position and they'll understand. It may seem melodramatic, but I'd hate to see you throw away all this and then one day go, "man I wish I didn't kill that and could still run it".
>>27805515Give us the notes. Forget all those people telling you not to dump them. They're just clinging to quests. Go for it, get it off your chest, and just let it all out. You'll feel better eventually.

>>27805515That's reassuring, though makes me feel the need to point out how shortsighted you're being./tg/ never forgets a quest worth remembering, and breaks, no matter how long, is one of the few things /tg/ DOESN'T flip out about.
>>27805515Give us the quest notes. All that you can. God, everyone here is just taking this far too seriously.

You will be missed, Twen.May your future be bright, and your memories of this place warm.
>>27805598So what if the quest dies? You think he won't regret leaving an audience hanging? No, he'll likely get more closure from actually closing them and then he can come back later.
>>27805607This sounds like a typical writer's episode. He'll be back eventually. I want him to do new stuff with a fresh mind.
>>27805612What the fuck do you mean come back later? That runs contrary to the whole point of what he's doing now, doesn't it?And /tg/ doesn't give a shit about being left hanging. In most cases, they prefer it to closure. It's the only thing this board has patience for.

Remains to be seen what he really is, but he's strong, fast, and vengeful.Harwin - Ally in Beric's Brotherhood without Banners. Feels guilty at not being able to protect Ned. Wants to help what he thinks is Robb.Beric Dondarrion - Very tired, honorable man, leads the Brotherhood without Banners. Has nearly forgotten everything of his time before he was with the band. Seeks death. Tries to put on a brave face.Thoros of Myr - Friend of Beric's. Feels guilty for Beric's condition. Follower of Rh'llor. Aware that there is something very WRONG with the King in the North, but doesn't want to antagonize it for fear of putting Beric and his friends in danger. The crunch was what did me in here. I wanted to make a full fledged RPG system that was a solo game. I had a set where you had playing cards to draw, leaving only face cards and aces to determine the villains. Hearts were public opinion (Depending on setting, this could mean churches or PR reps or whatever), clubs were military (Blackwater/ashigaru/whatever), diamonds were money (Banks. Can't think of examples, too light headed), and spades were political power. You would draw from three to five to seven of these cards, depending on length of game to determine the conspiracy that brought you low. Aces were hidden solos, Jacks were public solos, Queens were hidden leaders, Kings were public leaders. By profile, jacks could fight you toe to toe, aces would be supreme assassins lurking in the shadows, queens would be hard to find as the string pullers, and kings would be surrounded by legions. There were three stats, and three talent trees based off of them- Form would determine physical abilities and allow you to learn legendary combat arts, mind determines smarts and allows more traditional magics, and soul would determine charm and allow rituals you could teach followers.

>>27806103Oh.Okay. I'll do that. Probably tomorrow night. Sorry. But don't take on a burden like this unless you want to. I really liked your pictures. >>27806040I didn't have many notes on that one. Vizier#CordobaI just really like arabesque fantasies. It's my favorite thing that I don't see enough of. I really like reading about Muslim Spain. I thought I'd make it in to a fantasy quest. The Lamb Tribesmen, the Kahin, Al-Sihar. I didn't go on with that one because I didn't get enough interest. And I still felt a vague sense of irritation at taking up the front page with quests. I collected a lot of pictures for it.All of my notes are story bits. Another resource I used was on 4chan archive- I can't link it but it's a /tg/ thread. And I just looked now and I think it's gone.>>27806155Good. I'm sorry about that. I'm unreliable. Good luck. I think I'm going to stop tonight. I'll make pastebins for rest so it doesn't drag out like this next time. Except WQ. That'll go to decu.I think you guys were right. Oh, real quick note for Tax Quest I forgot- "As above, so below," was actually from Hermetic philosophy. It really amused me that you guys didn't get that one.
>>27806203Are you a sociopath or just an asshole?Don't encourage a meltdown.
>>27806209Actually, never mind. I'll post the pastebins to the IRC next time. I don't want to hog another thread. good night.
>>27806212>Are you a sociopath or just an asshole?
>>27806209Maybe people just didnt bother to mention it.It's the kind of phrase that sort of stands out.
>>27806209We don't really want a next time.Or for a filler ending. We'd rather wait for you to feel better. And you will feel better. At the very minimum don't feel the need to continue tomorrow based on any pressure from what you've done tonight. You don't owe us anything after all you've provided.
>>27806209Well it was the first quest I ran, and it was unique. and it already has a small following though I don't know if any of them are around currently. So I think it'll go well.though I won't reveal my other name/trip, unless someone guesses it. Godspeed where ever you tred you magnificent son of a bitch
>>27806209>>27806217>I'll make pastebins for rest so it doesn't drag out like this next time.or how about you stop self destructing, get some sleep and fix your state of mind, because right now, the thinking I'm seeing you display in your posts, that ain't healthy, go take a break, from posting, from questing if you feel you need it, but stop doing thiswhat >>27806230 said, get better, feel better, don't worry about us, we'll be here if/when you decide to startup another wacky ride or continue a previous one.
>>27806245>all this coddling
>>27806252What is WRONG with you?
>>27806252Lots of people like his quests
>>27806262Yea, I like his quests too. I don't feel the need to make sure his feelings are okay. I want him to keep running his quests. If he doesn't want to, fine. He doesn't need anyone to tell him that he is not obligated to do shit for anon. Stop treating him like a little girl.
>>27806279...Are you literally autistic?
>>27806279You must be a real joy to be around
>>27806209It won't be a burden, and I was a fan of the WQ since it began. Still am.Feel better, Twen.
>>27806289>>27806282>>27806279For fuck's sakes, stop fighting. That's always the god damn worst part.
>>27806294I can't wait to see what you do with itany plans for when you're going to run it?
>>27806300Dude, Twen's still planning at least one more thread.Don't you think it's way too fucking early to say stuff like that?
>>27806310I'm simply curious.
>>27806282He is posting pastebins explaining things about his quests. He said that he is done with those quests. I don't understand the concern.
>>27806300I'm really hoping I don't have to. I will if Twen does decide.>>27806310Sorry. I do hope he keeps running it. I'm just telling him that it's not a burden in case he decides to.
>>27806315I'm pretty sure his plan is to do nothing, because he hopes Twen will feel better, and either continue the quest or take a hiatus, which, and I cannot stress this enough, is FINE.
Damn, apparently a lot of good quests are being canned. Also apparently one man was secretly running a lot of quests.
You know, I said I wanted more tumbling down with quests, but I mean INSIDE of the quests. Not the quests themselves.
>>27806338A whole lot of not fanfiction.
>>27806359All or nothing bb.
>>27806363m-maybe I should run one of those quests I've been thinking about. With my terrible, terrible amateur DM skills.
>>27806373do it, you never know how it'll turn out if you don't
>>27806359You brought this upon us.I hope you're happy.
>>27806384IR is Shinji.
>>27806384I had no way of knowing that what happened in the game happened in REAL LIFEThread theme:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmZBOY6Mczk
>>27806389That's an unfavorable comparison.
>>27806381but I've never run a game, and I have a pile of ill developed potential game concepts, and I'm afraid I can't worldbuild properly without getting a gaggle of /tg/ folks to help me with it and and and
>>27806412Try your lest favorite idea as practice, and move up from there.
>>27806412>and and andAnd quit bitching, man up, and run it.If it fails, it fails, if its successful, then hooray.
>>27806417Maybe that warframe ripoff I've been meaning to do then. It's not got much to it.
>>27806430Well to be honest, I have no idea what I'm talking about and that's probably terrible advice, but, y'know, whatever works.
>>27806440I dunno anon. I figure I'll be able to do quests once I stop making excuses and get over my terror of being committed to things in any way.
>>27806373> DMYou ran games before? Fucking go for it then.
>>27806463well, sort of. I ran a few one shots that were supposed to be longer that people reviewed highly, and each time I deleted my email and chat account and abandoned that IRC name.Much worse results in person, I need time to think with a keyboard, otherwise I start tripping over myself and shit gets videogamey.
>>27806478Eh, Quests should be ideal for you then since there's only one PC at a time.
>>27806389>IR is Shinji. If anything, he's Gold D. Roger. His notes are the One Piece.

Would a super deadly quest based on Terra Formars be any fun?
>>27807185I can't really see it work. Everyone's going to die either way, so what's stopping the players from going horrible murderhobo Batman on some Johj ass?Wait, that sounds fucking awesome.
>>27807308In space, no one knows you're a murderhobo
>>27807185What's it about?
>>27807185You're not the first person to ask.
>>27806060>Please fucking don't. The Twen/IR fics are bad enough.Heh, I assumed you wrote them.Feel better, KQQM.PS Were you the one posting the "fate of all gimmick quests" screencap all the time?
>>27807320That's because you don't leave witnesses behind.
>>27807185>/tg/ gets new waifu>she dies 5 minutes laterI like it.
>>27807512>Terra Formars"With the space program attempting to travel to Mars, 21st century scientists were tasked with warming up the planet so that humans could survive on its surface. They came up with an efficient and cost effective plan of sending cockroaches and mold to the surface so that the mold would absorb the sunlight and the insect corpses would serve as a food source for the mold. It is now the year 2577 and the first manned ship to Mars has landed on the planet and the six crew members are ready for their mission. But what they find are giant mutated humanoid cockroaches with incredible physical strength. The crew members are easily wiped out, but not before sending a transmission back to Earth. Now, humanity will send elite warriors to exterminate the mutated bugs and claim back Mars."That mite b cool.
>>27799169Zeon Quest's romance was mostly channelled into trying to hook Jolyne up with Zolomon.
>>27799221>>27799234Zeonquest ran on too long and you could tell fatigue was setting in eventually. Near the end it was clear everyone just wanted to get it overwith. Before that it was excellent, though.
>>27807544They also get injected with bug genes and stuff to be better at fightan. Weapons are banned for everyone except the top fighters, because the cockraoches mimic shit they see.
> tax quest is kill> waifu quest is ???> HQR is kill, azure dead> SQ is semi dead> MGNQ hiatusEverything is falling apart
>>27807680PredQuest is kill too.On the upside ABC is back.inb4 something about fetishes and edgy.Net outcome is still negative. Guess I'll start lurking Akun although what >>27806774 said is really off-putting.
>>27807680>tfw your favorite quest is never talked about in QTGIt's fucking great. You drama queens are never going to touch it.
>>27807724For House and Dominion?
>>27806774>whiteIsn't it mostly grey
>>27807781It's still shit. You practically have to be blind to read the text.
Shit, I missed the Twen meltdown. I wanted to ask him if I could run a spinoff from Ground Crew Quest.
>>27807796You probably could, he said something about posting the rest in the next QTG.
>>27807781Too fucking bright nevertheless, I don't care what the hex code is.
>>27807680>the only quest I actually follow is about to be taken over by DecuNo offense to Decu and all, but I just don't care for his writing and the MGNQ fanbase grates on me. I would rather Twen just kill it if he is done running it than hand it off to someone else.
>>27807522The players will probably figure out that everyone will die and won't give a crap about anybody they meet. The far more likelier outcome is that they'll attempt to save everyone they meet only for the bugs to kill them off, which'd cause ginormous butthurt.
Tanihara Shosuke, he voices Matthew in the moviehttp://archive.foolz.us/tg/thread/27796848/#27807850Everyone check in here if you wanna resume discussion after the thread dies.>>27807834>I would rather Twen just kill it if he is done running it than hand it off to someone else.I, for one, like it simply because it's done so rarely and I'm curious how it'll go. The other alternative would be archelon but he didn't offer and has enough bullshit to deal with quest wise as it is.
I'm noticing something QMs are doing a lot and it needs to stop:If you say "First three rolls" or "First five rolls", you DON'T get to count a critfail that happened eight rolls away. Or one that happened when you didn't even ask for a roll. That's a huge dick move, mr QM.
>>27807899>If you say "First three rolls" or "First five rolls", you DON'T get to count a critfail that happened eight rolls away. Haven't seen that happen yet.> Or one that happened when you didn't even ask for a roll. It's okay if you state that it will be counted.
>>27807920>Haven't seen that happen yet.I see it happen ALL THE TIME, mostly from QMs who think the failure is funny. If it's only first of X rolls, then it's not acceptable. If it's three-highest like some people do, then it's acceptable, any other time it is not.
>>27807938It's annoying, yeah. Lack of clarity is annoying in general.
>>27807899>Or one that happened when you didn't even ask for a roll.Ive seen QMs do this to get people to stop randomly rolling, since if those people get a 100/20/whatever, they will try to circumvent everyone else and claim that their vote is the only one that should count and that it should autosucceed since "the dice gods will it" or whatever. Questers can get pretty scummy when they want to win.
>>27807968This is actually a good point.
>>27807968This. If you allow players to get away with bullshit you will only invite more bullshit. Always, with no exceptions.
>>27807802>>27807792You have the same problem with nytimes arstechnica wikipedia google etc?
>>27808019Not same guy. It's not the color that bothers me just the entire thing. It's so untraditional. Like it should be read on a tablet. Doesn't really matter, anyway. The stuff there is really /a/-centric. Not my cup of tea.
>>27808019Wikipedia makes it work but I'm not fond of it. Nytimes I don't read too often but the layout works in its favour. Akun is just way too much un-used white space for me.>>27808047I actually like /a/-centric stuff because I like character focused stories. It's just that it's hard to enjoy the site with the aforementioned flaws.>It's so untraditional.I like that in fact, it's a nice change of pace. I also like that you don't NEED to register.
