Okay, now back to our regularly scheduled VMQ!Archive (1 and 2): http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Valkyrian%20Mercs%20QuestPastebin: http://pastebin.com/6K5rjbC1Twitter: https://twitter.com/MercCommandDon't know what Valkyria Chronicles is? Check it out here! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyria_Chronicles or http://valkyria.wikia.com/wiki/Valkyria_WikiYou are LUCAS WILLIAMS, a student in the Sturmfuhrer Academy a graduate from its elite TIER ONE Program. You also found out that your squad sniper, Morgan, is actually a girl posing as a boy, for reasons still unstated. However, you agreed to keep the whole thing a secret from the rest of the your squad. You also found out in the middle of your training that you had a hidden dark side, a destructive bloodlust that triggers whenever you see someone you care about get hurt. Thankfully, you've been taking special training to suppress that urge, so it really shouldn't be a problem in the foreseeable future. You've now graduated from Tier One, and now are an official part of the Demons of Randgriz. Not only does this meant that your school days are over, but also that you're now expected to fight when called on.And that time came rather quickly, as you were called upon to eliminate a group of troublesome pirates, though it was a relatively simple mission. However, now you're being sent on an actual campaign in exotic lands across the Atlantic. And you're going to ride there in style...(cont)
>>27229977I hereby claim this thread in the name of me.
I've had a crazy idea. Just... just hear me out. How about... we spend some time... getting to know the other guys in our squad. Crazy, I know. Runaround needs some talking to, Edwin needs some character development, we need to talk to Simo and Bragg...But who am I kidding.
>>27230130You dare suggest we actually spend time away from our waifus?!It's about fucking time
>>27229977Is our ride going to be shot down by someone?Like say Tatiana Wisla and her wingwoman?
>>27229977Jaeger pls.I know Karla was your fiancee and all, but really, the giant blimp where you made up and broke off with her at the big finale of VMQ1?Where did you even get the funds? A really loud bird with no sense of volume?
>>27230168We've got four girls after us. Both Sturmfuhrer twins (possibly), Lucina, and Morgan. We need some friends of our own gender.>>27230198What're you implying? That I funded the construction of the Volume Control?
>>27230130I fully agree. I don't think Runaround has ever had a solo convo with Lucus YET
>>27229977CODEX ENTRY UNLOCKEDGNS Kestrel Megafloat-Class Mobile AirfieldWhile the Demons had enjoyed much success in using Gallian engineered weapons and equipment, there has always been a traditional limitation that hampered their efforts to act as an international mercenary company. Since the Gallian military was always intended to be a defensive army, logistics were never a priority because it was assumed Gallians would always be fighting on home territory. It was at this point the Demons realized the necessity in adopting foreign equipment, or even just creating their own in order to make up for the gap in capability. It was during one of these times where Jager complained offhand how he wished they had a "mobile airfield" of some sort. While accounts vary, Qyburn overheard this remark and allegedly cackled quite madly. The resulting Megafloat-Class Mobile Airfield is Qyburn's magnum opus. Using the salvaged remains of the Hresvelgr and Excalibur, the production facilities of the once defunct Hydrian Mountain facility in Belka, and six years of development, Qyburn finally achieved what was thought to be impossible. A flying aircraft carrier, that put the seabound ones developed by Emmeria and the Federation to shame. The secret behind the Kestrel's operation is the "Ragnite Reactor", a revolutionary new power source that Qyburn developed. However, knowledge on how this device was created or even works remains highly secret. The only known fact was that it runs off very rare and pure forms of ragnite, and that even a pebble of it could power the ship for decades. The ship itself is literally a floating city, able to carry several squadrons of aircraft as well as a small army for ground operations. However, having only recently been finished, the Kestrel and the Megafloat-Class as a whole remains untested. How it would perform in battle is anybody's guess...
>>27230253I was actually agreeing with you there, the waifuing is really getting on my nerves.Besides, I just watched Valvrave and am incredibly disappointed in Edwin.
>>27230253And the Lion of Gallia. And our totally sweet ride. Not by choice.
>>27230276NEAT!Just like Last Exile with all those awesome huge airships launching vanships
>>27229977No Herbert, Vice, Nancy or that dude the red moehawk, this picture lacks.
>>27230276>While accounts vary, Qyburn overheard this remark and allegedly cackled quite madly.Oh, Qyburn.
>>27230130Honestly while I waifu the twins quite a bit I agree. I kind of want to get to know edwin better. He is great for our guy here and could make a fun friend.
>>27230481Agreed. We need a bro.
>>27230481Eh, I'm leaning towards Simo, at least he has good reasons for being a bit of an ass. That said, if we manage to turn Edwin into L-elf then this quest wins forever.
>>27230481He just needs to relax. Perhaps we'll discover he has a secret nerdish love for "DR MARVEL, ADVENTURER OF SCIENCE". You know those old 30's adventure serials that used to be so popular back in the day?
Rolled 17 + 4>>27230481I want Simo, we're kind of screwing him over since we're trying to Waifu Morgan (though honestly I like the Twins and Lucina a lot more) so I want to be bros with him if we can repair our relationship with him.Not sure about Edwin, too uptight
>>27230276Your farewell to the Academy and Castle Sturmfuhrer was quite an emotional one. Everybody's parents were present to see them off, including yours. Mom couldn't stop crying and Dad just gave you the proudest grin. Tarin gave her daughter the barest, nonverbal grin while Ramirez locked her in a tight bearhug. You could almost swear you could see the hardened veteran crying his eyes out, though he'd never admit it. Jager and Sam were there too, though there were hijinks involved as Charlotte and Falynn swapped uniforms in order to utterly confuse their father, much to their amusement. Even Alek and Elsa showed up to bid their farewells to Simo and Morgan.Heck, even Nemo showed up, since she was apparently tagging along to keep track of the Falcon's development. She had a brief but heartfelt meeting with Qyburn himself, now positively ancient and wheelchair bound. The old cooky scientist handed her a thick journal almost as old as he was and nodded before allowing himself to be pushed away. And just like that, you were all on your way to a land you've never even heard of, let alone seen.(cont)
>>27230591You still never got quite used to the feeling of flying. It was just the way the planes moved and tumbled in the air that always gave you this mild, uneasy feeling that the craft was suddenly going to drop out of the air at any given moment. It didn't help that the crew and pilots just LOVED talking about well known aerial disasters just to mess with the ground pounders. However, there were small mercies. The Kestrel itself was large enough that it wouldn't be buffeted and rocked by high winds or turbulence. In fact, riding the Kestrel felt far more comfortable than any ship you've been on. Unfortunately, the Kestrel wasn't particularly fast, and while a Skyranger could cross the Atlantic in under a day, the Kestrel would require almost four or five.Well, this was a new ship, and that meant new people to meet! Or, you could always just track down any other Wraiths and hang out with them...>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [specify]>Explore the hangar.>Explore the lab.>Explore the bridge.>Other
>>27230610>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [specify]Runaround. Let's finally talk to him.
>>27230610> Let's talk to some Wraiths! Edwin!we might hear something regarding his mom and this particular bird we're on
>>27230610>>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [specify]Edwin, perhaps
>>27230610>Explore the bridge.
>>27230610>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [Simo]Dammit, I want to hang out with Alek's son.
>>27230610>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [specify]Edwin. We need a bro.
>>27230610>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [Simo]
>>27230610>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [specify]Runaround. Poor dude needs attention.
>>27230610>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [specify]Simo, I doubt we're going to get anywhere productive with Edwin.
Rolled 12 + 4>>27230610>Let's Talk with SimoWe have a lot to talk about
>>27230610>>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [Simo]
>all these votes for talking with the other dudesHoly shit my mad plan worked.
>>27230610> Let's talk to some Wraiths!Edwin.
>>27230610>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [Simo]>>27230577To be honest, I've been having thoughts about setting him up with Sparky somehow. It'll be fucking hilarious.
>>27230610>Let's talk to some Wraiths! Fuck you guys, I vote for Bragg. Gunners4lyfe
>>27230610>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [specify] Runaround>>27230712Believe it or not VMQ actually cares about teambuilding.
>>27230712We suffer from an affluence of estrogen. We need manly testosterone!
>>27230610>Let's talk to some Wraiths! [specify]Simo.
>>27230712The waifuing has been killing my brain.
Rolled 2 + 4>>27230738Edwin must get Mary-kate no negotiations!
>>27230768... I'm not sure about that. Isn't Mary Kate more inclined to the womanly persuasion?....Not that there's any problem with that.
>>27230768I like this idea!>I only care about useful people!>Falls for the worst (initially) female soldier in the squad.
>>27230577Main reason I like Edwin is because he is uptight. He is like the opposite of our guy in all ways.Which is really interesting and I always say the best friends are the ones you bitch with and no one knows why you are friends.
>>27230768I speculate anyone with a penis isn't MKat's type.
>>27230768Sorry, I'm batting for him being with Charlotte.
>>27230789>>27230799Huh. Kinda forgot about that. Though she did just say her type wasn't us. Could be taken both ways. Definite leanings though.
Rolled 3 + 4>>27230765Well what have you expected when the female to male ration is like 3 to 1.
>>27230789>>27230799>>27230828Just pointing out, she only said she wasn't into Lucas.>>27230610You decide to go track down Simo. You've got a good idea where he might be, considering he was pretty much the quintessential sniper. He's most likely be in the highest part of the ship, with the best view.Sure enough, you find him sitting in the open air observation deck on the very top of the ship's main tower. He's just staring off at the distance, his eyes darting from one cloud to the next, as if he's subconsciously trying to judge their distance from him."Hey, Simo?" You announce yourself as you approach."Huh? Oh, hey Lucas." Simo sighs. Well, he doesn't seem annoyed and angry any more, which is a plus. But he's still clearly troubled.>What do you want to talk about?
>>27230808>2013 year of our lord.>Not wanting to get with Jager's kids.>Not wanting to see Father in law Jager giving us the evil eye.
>>27230936I was expecting waifuing to be sure, however, leading on 3 girls leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.
>>27231008Oh fucking please, we already have Falynn crushing on us, and threesomes are not a thing here.
>>27230994Thinking we should talk about how he has been feeling? Since all the chaos of last time we wouldn't want him to get stressed out.
>>27230994Feel like we owe him an apology
>>27231010i say influences of msq which is also running atm>>27230994just sit beside and wait till he talks. guess we dont have whisky for MANLY PICKNICK
>>27230994"Something troubling you?"
>>27231027....I feel like we have the wrong twin but whatever. Also considering it wasn't exactly his fault for leading them on since 2/3 were childhood friends so treating them nicely was natural for him.So it should't be too blamed on him, entirely
>>27231027>>27231027>Raw Raw Fight The PowerThough yeah I can see it now. Thing is I like Charlotte more then her sister. Even though both is great.Anyway enough waifu talking for me. It's a little too early for me to make up my mind and too early in the story to really tell.
>>27230994>Just pointing out, she only said she wasn't into Lucas.Hmmm, Bragg?
>>27230994Ask if Morgan's alright.
>>27231083No I don't, I blame that on the players since they knew EXACTLY what would happen during the infirmary sequence.
>>27230994>So, why exactly did you want Morgan to keep her gender secret? Also c'mon, Merc. Don't ruin it. We almost had a girl free from the pairings nightmare.
>>27231111True, I really like the speech though, but I felt that we should have gone for. "Of course, we're best friends afterall" since it seems more natural.
>>27231127Agreed. Simo's known her a LOT longer than we have. Plus, he's probably a bit sweet on her already.>>27231145'Twas a fine speech.
>>27231071>>27231082Let's say these are both votes for asking him what's wrong. I second these. Merc can't post without any consensus, and right now there are only two votes for apologizing for nothing I guess.
>>27231145>>27231189I try. Thanks.
>>27231145The speech was fine, however I'm pretty bitter about what we did at the Infirmary. And the whole waifuing in general too.Did no one think what happened to Heloise last quest?
>>27231304This>>27231033Also kind of counts for asking that.
>>27231348>however I'm pretty bitter about what we did at the InfirmaryWhy?
>>27231348Stuff like that happens all the time in real life. So I don't really think much over it.To me it is far to early on to really make any decisions on this anyway.
>>27231348the waifuing was mild until the end in which I felt the last choice felt a bit forced
>>27230994"Hey, is something wrong?" You ask, deciding to try and figure out what was troubling him."Oh, well... it's just the whole Morgan thing." Simo sighs. "I was keeping the secret for what, six years? Maybe more? So long I've completely forgotten. Then, one day, she just comes up to me and says she doesn't want to do it any more." Simo sighs. "You spend your life trying to keep a secret, to uphold a lie, an then all of a sudden you're just expected to stop it? That's just... rough.">Yeah, it does sound rough. An idea why she changed her mind?>Actually, I need to admit something to you...>Other
>>27231379Because now we're leading on 3 fucking girls, and we have to break the hearts of two of them?Jesus Christ, do you idiots think before reverting immediately to your dicks?
>>27231398>Actually, I need to admit something to you...Well, we owe Simo this at least. And our honor isn't banking on this because the secret is out.
>>27231398>Actually, I need to admit something to you...Best to confess now, I suppose.
>>27231412No i find it amusing and thats all i need to make my choice. Like how others like channeling Natsuru
>>27231398>Actually, I need to admit something to you...We owe him this...i think that we've caused him a lot of grief
>>27231398>Actually, I need to admit something to you.Screw ellipses. We're being blunt and taking the punch like a man.
>>27231398>Actually, I need to admit something to you...He might get mad, but there's not really a reason to hide it anymore.
>>27231398>>Actually, I need to admit something to you...
>>27231398>>Actually, I need to admit something to you...Exact your punishment
>>27231398>Actually, I need to admit something to you...Brace for impact.
>>27231398>Actually, I need to admit something to you...
>>27231398>Other"Pretty sure she likes you, man. As in, likes you, likes you."
>>27231398>Other"Morgan made her choice. She couldn't possibly live her life out as a lie, it would have come out eventually, you must have know that.Unless you didn't want it to?"Pointed poking questions.
>>27231457Man, I guess my first impression of you is right.
>>27231511Changing my vote to this.
>>27231412>Three girls fall in love one one guy.>Innocent main. This can only end in heartbreak.
>>27231511[x] Dohoho. Do it.
>>27231524Not the dick part, definitely.
>>27231412Well, in theory we could pawn Morgan off onto Simo. She did admit to liking him. That does still leave the problem of Lucina and Falynn, though.
>>27231581We will probably just drag Char into the mix to make it up.
>>27231605I'm hoping Lucas ends up forever alone. He'll be the Knight that his father chose not to be!Or something... Actually, never mind, that sounds way too cruel
>>27231581But thats all three girls. Who would you stuff lucas with?Personally undecided between Falynn and Morgan.
>>27231605Sweet Jesus no.
>>27231629Between Lucina and Char, Kind of like Faylnn but the reason we kind of triggered her liking us was because due to the character development of the previous thread and sympathy to some degree. If we had done something like that to Char or even Sparky it might have gotten the same response
>>27231629Fire Emblem Awakening Morgan would be insta-pick for me. Tied between Lucina and Morgan myself.
>>27231656;_; damn it /tg/ why you always trigger flag for worst sister?
>>27231668Wasn't that the point? Some anons keep going on about letting the girls shine through character development before choosing and all that.
>>27231705but falynn is moecurious to see how she changes and improves might give her sister a run for her money
>>27231690Fire Emblem? This ain't no Fire Emblem, boy. You're in VMQ now.`
>>27231398"Actually, I need to admit something to you." You take a deep breath. "I actually knew about Morgan being a girl.""Goddamnit. I fucking knew it. Normally, I'd kick your ass for lying to me like that, but I'm not exactly the paragon of truth and justice either, so I'll let it slide." Simo sighs and shakes his head. "How long did you know?""Near the beginning of the year." You say. "Motherfucker. I thought you were supposed to be a terrible liar, Lucas.""Not when my integrity is on the line." You respond resolutely. "I made a promise to Morgan not to tell anybody, including you.""Figures.""I understand you didn't like the whole gender secrecy thing?" You ask."Of course not. I thought it was a dumb idea, since it'd just put even more pressure on her. Morgan's already got enough to worry about, you know?""Oh yeah, a lot." You nod. "But, I've noticed she seems a lot happier now.""Well, yeah, she can finally let her hair down, in multiple senses of the word.">Ask who came up with such a dumb idea.>Try to pry for more about Morgan's past.>Inquire about his relationship with Morgan.>Other
>>27231712Yeah. This. Honestly my first thought was char but I really don't care as long as the story is good. That's all that matters to me.
>>27231629I wouldn't stuff Lucas with anyone right now. I'd like to just be bros with Sparky and Mary-Kate and wait for some more characters to be introduced.
>>27231735>Ask who came up with such a dumb idea.
>>27231735>Inquire about his relationship with Morgan."You know, uh, she likes you."
>>27231735>Inquire about his relationship with Morgan.>Ask who came up with such a dumb idea.
>>27231705Because this waifuing shit has gone far enough already.
>>27231735>Ask WHY they came up with such a dumb idea.
>>27231735>Ask who came up with such a dumb idea.AND WHY?
>>27231735>>Ask who came up with such a dumb idea.>>Inquire about his relationship with Morgan.Jaeger.I fucking bet its Jaeger.
>>27231735>Ask who came up with such a dumb idea.>>27231784>Jaeger.It all makes sense now.
>>27231784Sounds like something he'd do.
>>27231735>>Ask who came up with such a dumb idea.
>>27231735>Inquire about his relationship with Morgan.I'm curious to see if we can get the number of girls following Lucas down to two.
>>27231762Caring about waifuing. Honestly I can never figure that out. As long as the story is decent I could care less what the guys here talk about. From fine wine to Hentai to the best season for hunting.>Ask who came up with such a dumb idea.
>>27231735>Ask who came up with such a dumb idea.If it's Jager, I want to punch him in the face next time we see him.
I see this as being a repeat of sorts of VMQ1: 3 girl stale mate until one of them breaks it.
>>27231867There was a stalemate whatYou sure we were reading the same quest?
>>27231843Because the waifuing also happens to affect the story, and breaks the hearts of characters I get emotionally invested in.
>>27231867Tarin barely showed and interest at all and Karla was missing for most of the story. How exactly was this a stalemate?
Merc is going for the full VC 2 experience isn't he?
>>27231882That would happen naturally though given how things are so far. I think the key thing is Lucas taking his mothers advice on this one.>>27231902It was fairly close early on to Lucas mom being a possible one. Tarin was also in the running and Karla was leading for a good while.Sam was basically the slow horse in a horse race only she started getting a lot of momentum as she developed. Until the end where she won.
>>27231882Whats a good story without a healthy dose of drama.A good story is one where characters you're emotionally invested in don't die or suffer bad things happening to them?I'm afraid anon, that your tastes are suspect.
sorry I am late I was having a crap night on war thunder
>>27231867Actually it was really the dice that decided it. Merc did a good job of using natural failures and successes to develop a romance that seemed natural, basically it came down to Same being the most obvious IC pick. That's what I'm praying for innVMQ2 instead of whoever waifus and samefags hardest. I'm pretty optimistic because that nat failure and getting plastered is a good example of what I'm talking about. Let it happen with the rolls, don't just flirt with everyone.
>>27231982Or you know, players deliberately encouraging it like they did with Falynn.>>27232012I'd be a lot more appreciative of it wasn't caused though the players' stupidity.
>>27232046>SameHaha, man, I mean Sam.
>>27232047Stupidity?Oh no anon. I'm pretty sure we did it knowing exactly what would happen. For the Greater Story.
>>27231735"Honestly, who came up with a dumb idea like that?" You ask.Simo laughs. "Oh man, it's great to hear somebody else think the whole scheme was stupid. I actually don't know where exactly the idea came from, but I have a strong suspicion it was from Elizabeth. I mean, she's a good spy and I'm sure she had good intentions, but I think she sort of forgot the person in question was a kid who didn't even hit puberty yet.""Well, I guess even the best make mistakes." You nod. "Like you wouldn't believe." Simo nods. Well, at least the both of you found some common ground, and at least got rid of that gulf that had previously existed between the both of you. You feel that the conversation has run its course, but then again, there's always more things you could try and glean...>Try to pry into Morgan's past.>Ask him how he feels about Morgan.>Let's go do something else. >>27232047So you would be perfectly fine if all the girls just fell for lucas due to unrevealed stuff like him trying to jump over a high jump repeatedly as a kid? As long as it wasn't the players choice?

>>27232084Suuuuure.>>27232161No, what I'm saying that I'm sick of anon's mentality that we must pick up every single goddamn girl we see. Pretty much all the people we associated of our own choice before this were female, though the high female to male ratio did influence this.

We're not Emmerian, and .45 ACP for military use is a very American thing, historically.

>>27234126>Kick him the shins while his guard is down.Your fault
>>27234293>.38 SuperDo we use the normal rounds, or do we user hte hotter +p rounds?
>>27234317Recoil Compensators, or "comps" work by taking the hot gasses used to propel the round, and redirecting them upward as the round leaves the chamber. .38 Super is a good round to use with them because it fires the same bullet as .38ACP, but uses higher pressure loadings to fire it at a much higher velocity. More gasses for the comp to redirect, making it more effective. Really good synergy.>>27234327Technically, the +P headstamp on .38 Super doesn't actually mean anything. It was just added in '74 to help further distinguish it from .38 ACP (which the cartridge is dimensionally identical to).

You point out."Yeah but... this was a vehicle that was meant to run FREE! So what if it takes a bit of damage in the process? It's built tough for that reason!""Not tough enough, apparently." You nod the freshly welded on armor plate on the rear of the vehicle."Ah, she still runs fine." Runaround waves it off. "Anyways, you came in just the nick of time.""Huh? For what?""Well, she survived her first battle, so we gotta name her!""What... the Viper?""Yes, the Viper! How are we going to tell her apart from the other ones?" >>27235389Erusea is the bloc controlling South America>>27235366CODEX ENTRY UNLOCKEDThe United Republics of EruseaThe United Republics of Erusea is a relatively young coalition of nations, formed mostly in an attempt to deter Emmerian expansionism.Erusea's history starts in ancient times, when refugees from the Darcsen/Valkrur conflict fled Europa and scattered to the four corners of the Earth. While some of the refugees settled in what would eventually become Emmeria, others sailed further south in what would eventually become Erusea. Up until the 1800s, Erusea only existed as various squabbling nations fighting each other over territory and resources. However, that all changed when Emmeria invaded and annexed Tenoch, which was literally a stone's throw from the southern nations. Alarmed, the southern states banded together to form the United Republics of Erusea. However, "Republic" was a bit of misnomer, as the majority of Erusea's member states are in fact military dictatorships. Internally, Erusea is still just as divided and wracked with infighting. However, what all of these individual dictators can agree on is that Emmerian expansionism into their territory had to be stopped at any cost. With the Emmerian supported rebellion and secession of San Salvacion and the construction of the Salvacion Canal during EWI, Emmerian and Erusean relations have been at their lowest ever. Both sides stand ready to fight each other, with San Salvacion being the fuse to the massive powder keg...
>>27235665Basically, for those of you who don't get it...Emmeria = Essentially a US-dominant NAFTA.Erusea = South America if Bolivar actually succeeded in uniting them.San Salvacion = PanamaTenoch = Mexico
>>27235696>Tenoch = MexicoHuh, I though it was Texas.

>>27235741One's a country, the other is an admittedly fat slice of a country.
>>27235715Probably what happened was exactly like real world history except when the Mexican War ended, the US just decided to take the whole of Mexico, likely with the intention of using it and Panama as a staging ground into South America
>>27235665"Wow... so Emmeria and Erusea really don't like each other.""Unimaginably so." Menendez nods. "And all that resentment and hate is focused on poor San Salvacion. While neutral on paper, San Salvacion has very close ties to Emmeria, and even gives their ships discounts to pass through the Canal. Erusea has been making a big stink about retaking San Salvacion for decades, but it seems now they're actually backing up their threats.""So... what's their capabilities?""I'm sure you'll be told when you're ready." Menendez says. "Besides, we're already at the bridge."Menendez gives the two guards standing at the door a nod, and they both salute and stand aside to let the both of you in. Inside, the bridge itself didn't seem all that much different from one you'd find in a regular ship. A bit anticlimactic, sure, but you guess it was understandable. And there, sitting in a chair in the center of the room, is the man who is presumably the captain of the Kestrel."Damn it, Raoul, what did I tell you about dragging kids into the bridge?" The man sighs."Lucas, may I present to you Captain Jonathan Jurgens." Menendez nods to the other man. "Such hostility, John. I haven't seen you and years, and all you can think of is complain!""Damn right. Nothing but trouble happens whenever you're around!" Jurgens grumps. "So kid, what's your story?""Private Lucas Williams, sir!" You stand to attention and salute. "Part of SOF Team 6 'The Wraiths'!""Ah, one of those SOF kids." Jurgens nods, looking at you and Menendez. "Well kid, better get ready, because Raoul here is going to put you through all kinds of hell in those jungles. From what you can glean from Erusea's military history, most of their experience in war was spent fighting each other rather than any large scale conventional force like Erusea. In fact, in some ways, Erusea's military was just as inexperienced as Emmeria's when it came to full scale war. However, you note that if the Eruseans had any specialties, it was their jungle fighters. They were pretty much nothing like regular military and didn't act like them, either. After several skirmishes with them, the Emmerians figured that it was too much trouble digging them out of the jungles and held off on pushing into Erusean territory. After all, the jungle fighters pushed north, they'd lost their defensive advantage, and if Emmeria pushed south, they'd be walking into a meatgrinder. It seemed this stalemate is what maintains the current status quo."Huh, that was pretty helpful." You say. "I'm impressed that you actually finished it." Edwin responds simply."Yeah well, it wasn't that difficult. It was for dummies, after all.""You know, I guess you're not that bad." Edwin sighs."Whoa, was that at COMPLIMENT you just gave me?" You gasp."Don't get used to it. It just means I trust you enough to watch my back." Edwin says a bit too quickly."So... I'm basically your friend now.""I did NOT say that.""But you were totally thinking it!" You grin.Edwin then tosses another book at your face."This one's a bit more advanced, so sit down, shut up, and start reading!" Edwin shouts.Yeah, he was totally cracking. But, you decide no to press to hard and continue your reading. You had a lot to learn, after all.>And that's it for tonight! Next thread will be Sunday night 7-8pm PST!
>>27236715He wants the FRIENDSHIP.

It's just lots of random little things you wouldn't miss at first.>>27236820I don't remember him being a cook or anything like that. He had a really screwed up sense of taste, though.
>>27236754So? We just drop a few Daisy Cutters into the brush with a dash of napalm and a heavy sprinkling of white phosphorus.. After that, we scour the ground for tunnels. Are we destroying an intricate ecosystem? Yes. But will it allow us to win the war? Probably.
