You were once a ghost of the Terran Dominion. AFter Arcturus Mengsk died and Korhal fell you defected from the Dominion. Now you fight for freedom and attempt to unify the fringes against a coming Zerg threat. The Dominion continues to hunt you, as do criminals and bounty hunters. Your task is impossible - and that's optimistic. The fringes are spiraling into civil war, losing planets to the Zerg and Protoss, and the Dominion is preparing it's ships to reclaim the worlds for the crumbling empire. Even with your skilled crew you're starting to doubt your mission is even possible. But you still have to try. You've just finished transferring the Adjutant A.I. to a newer model body. It should improve her calculations significantly, although you wish Henderson would stop making comments about her chassis. >Loading...

I was looking at the pastebin, and I saw that Daisy the pyromaniac firebat was on the list of lost crew. When did that happen? I don't recall reading about it, but I feel like she had enough screentime that it would have been mentioned.

Alright, lets go interrogate that enemy commander for all the information we can get on their ground forces.

>>26362291yeah, getting really tired of this
You head to the brig, to interrogate the enemy commodore personally. You briefly reflect on the hallway memorial as you pass by it. Several more names will be on it before today is over. The commodore has a cybernetic implant and serious scarring. He's an older man and you have no doubt that he's an extremely experienced veteran. He's wearing typical manacles and sits behind the table in the interrogation room. There's an armed marine in each corner of the room.>"Ah, the infamous rogue ghost. My briefing included you, but I did not expect to encounter you on a routine mission.">"What is the purpose of your mission?">"Officially, we are investigating the radio silence of this poor undefended colony. >>26362817what would your thoughts be on continuing to fight, but fighting for me?
>>26362839It is likely that he has other motives he is holding back, Commander. Social analysis suggests that he resents the Dominion for becoming what the Sons of Korhal fought, but he has not had an opportunity to properly manifest or admit these frustrations.

>>26362918There's nothing tangibly describable deeper than that, Commander. It's a fairly blunt observation.

With the changeling breakthrough I had a thought. Charlie has been wanting to make specters for awhile, but instead what if we just train normal people how to be competent special ops personnel? This way we can have a lot more than just us running around and if we actually find a "cure" we can make those who survive into actual specters.
did everyone die?

>>26364658"I was in his mind. He'll fight for us because its better then fighting for the Dominion and he didn't want to die. Though I have to be honest he doesn't really care about our cause. Only surviving to fight the next battle."
>>26364658"each and every one of you had the exact same chance, to renege and run away at the first chance, but you stuck with your chosen path, you stuck with me"also >>26364706 is good>>26364723thats not exactly confidence inspiring, which is what they need right now...
>>26364658Turn to Henderson and say "Henderson, what would I do if I thought that he was going to be a threat and/or betray us by just "jumping back".He is no doubt going to indicate that we would have killed him faster than you could say "dam".We also are a ghost and his mind didn't lie about his intentions.
>>26364706>"You really think I would have let him take the reigns back if I thought he'd betray me Mia?I'm a ghost, I could tell what he was thinking before he even did."Henderson, ever faithful, chimes in to your defense.>"Boss is right. Probably knows more about him than any of us do. And she took a chance on -you-, remember.">"That was different. I didn't just kill half of her wraith pilots.">"Only 'cause you didn't have a battlecruiser.">"I'm just saying, you've made mistakes before, Commander.">"Not in judging character I haven't."You can sense that she's angry, but not at you. She still feels like justice hasn't been served for her wingmen. As long as you keep her distant from McCarthur it shouldn't be a problem. You continue on past the bar to the adjacent Mess Hall. The remaining members of the Helldogs, Barney, and Jessie are at a table with your cook.>Loading...
Rolled 14>>26364750Also adding to this, for that I'm grateful especially after the 'mistakes' I made you're still standing behind me. If it worries you, I'll see if their will be any volunteers to moniter them for awhile
>"Well the Re-hydrated mashed potatoes aren't much to work with, but a bit of spices, maybe some green chile, some cheese, I might be able to make 'em edible. Next time we have some shore leave I'll see what I can do.">"Daisy used to like chile."Barney sulks. Jessie pats him on the back.>"It'll be okay, big guy. She's burning things where-ever she is now.">"Ain't sure that's the best way to describe it."Jessie shushes Rio, before they notice you and offer their own nods.>"Commander. Looking forward to New Albuquerque. Hopefully we can make sure it's stable this time." >Awaiting input.
>>26364932"Just checking over my crew. How are y'all?"
Rolled 13>>26364932I do too, I do too.
>>26364932These >>26365035>>26364999And pat Barney on the back and ask how he's doing. Poor guy.
>>26364999>"Uh, we're good, Commander."You decide that your infantry isn't particularly concerned with anything yet, and continue on. You hear the familiar sound of someone boxing one of the combat dummies in the training room and investigate. Charlie is sparring in close combat with one of the drones. She waves you over to her when she notices you.>"C'mon Dee, we've got time before we blow up the Commies from orbit. Spar with me a bit."
>>26364932"We'll look into some higher quality supplies next time we have a chance. No promises - space board food is hard enough."
>>26365137That dream we had the other time? It's going to happen here.
>>26365137If it's all the same, I'd rather not - bad dreams. I need a nap. Sorry.
>>26365137......fuckNow is a perfect time to explain our rage problems.
>>26365137>Spar with meNoooooOOOOOOOOOOO DON'T DO IT STOP
>>26365137Sure why not. This isn't going to end up like the dream.
>>26365190we've been having potentially prophetic dreams. Just going into it blindly won't help.
>1 This is totally a good idea. No way anyone's going to end up with broken arms, and it'll give you a chance to learn how she feels about what happened with the rest of your squad.>2 Dreams are scary. Better make up some half-assed excuse.>3 You should probably explain the rage problems.
Rolled 1>>26365137Space Commies! Will we kill Space Stalin? Though let's spar though explain the dream to her and you feel hesitant about this/
>>26365221also tell her about the dream
>"I don't think I should, Charlie. I had a dream about this.">"You dream about me beating you up? That's pretty sad, Dee.">"The other way around.">"To think I missed a perfectly good 'in your dreams' joke, then.">"I'm serious. Ever since the terrazine treatment I've been having these... dreams. They're turning out to be partway true. I've also had some anger problems."Her demeanor changes as she approaches you. >"You okay on that stuff, Dee?"
>>26365320"Not sure anymore."
>>26365320"I don't know. The doc says she may have found a way to...cure the side effects. Something the zerg have been doing, apparently."
>>26365320Ask her to watch our back for our sakes and hers. We could probably explode with rage if we get to angry, figuratively or not.
>>26365320"I don't know, though the doc seems to think there might be a way to take care of the side effects. That just means though I have to hunt down some zerg and keep up the treatments.
>>26365320So far? Yeah. No other issues.. yet. Maybe I just got the rage end of the stick this time. Who knows? Do me a favour and keep an eye on me, though. Just in case.
>>26365352>>26365386>"I don't know. The doc might have a cure if we can reverse-engineer whatever the Zerg are doing to counteract the terrazine's side effects.">"Yeah, 'cause, y'know, Zerg are the pinnacle of good health. Just look at Banelings.">"No joke. Just keep an eye on me. I'm not sure if I'll lose control or something.">"You always were high-maintenance." >Awaiting further input...
>>26365441Said the girl who painted her nails and brushed her hair a thousand times before bed each day. Anyway. Maybe I shouldn't. I.. need to go to bed.
>>26365441Let's laugh and thank her for her support. We've been going through a lot and it means a lot to use that she's standing by our side through...all the bad decisions.Also...I wanted to ask her why she mentioned Spectres a few days ago.
>>26365441I can believe it. Instead of sparring why don't we go to the practice range. We can see who can shoot more holo zerg.... Thanks Charlie I really do appreciate the fact that you've stuck around.
>>26365441Ask her if she thinks we should get a 'special' helmet considering all of our decisions lately.
>>26365476I would like to ask this as well. She does seem to bring them up ever once in awhile.
>>26365484Practice range might be a good alternative.
>>26365467>"Hey that was when we were undercover. I have to keep up appearances.">"You also mentioned spectres. Any reason in particular?">"I know there's a lot of problems associated with the treatment, but it's the best shot we have at a full compliment of special forces. Right now all we have are marines. With the Chameleon suits it might not even be necessary, but... well, imagine doing what we do without the psionics. If there -is- a better way, and doctor 'don't use explosives I need a sample' finds it, then obviously we'll go with that instead."
>>26365546right, we'll ask for volunteers
Charlie goes back to her training and you resume your rounds. With no one else to speak with you wander the halls.((I'm going to end the thread here tonight. I'll try to resume it tomorrow but I don't know if I can. Stay tuned to the twitter.))
>>26365546Hm...we really need to find the cure for Spectre ragism.
>>26365691D'aw. We had a decent thread today...I'm really upset we lost Volcano World though. That resource bonus is really going to hurt us later.
Rolled 9>>26365716Couldn't be helped we had huge losses against the swarm, any more fights with them may be bad for our health.Let's try again once he have a huge battle fleet.
