We've got things to do tonight, don't we gentlemen...Faefnir continues his quaint little tale..Thus far, his time in Florin has found the family learning more about themselves and what they enjoy other than killing, they've bonded and grown closer as they approach nearly a month of being together.. Morgan has found a method of turning the forces of Crimson against themselves, along with a way to secure the young akuma and nurture their growth. There is a tide to turn in this war against God..And you are now standing at the forefront...We last left off with Faefnir, Morgan, and Madeleine examining Fonso, a Gypsy with a strange mark upon his right hand... What could it be?First, Faefnir's stats and abilities!>http://pastebin.com/CuLptHELHis naughty family...>http://pastebin.com/1XTzrHiRAnd the Scoundrel's tale so far!>http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Akuma%20Quest
You wave your hand at his suspicions, no need for any of that here after all," "My friend Fonso, if I have led you into the lair of witches then your hand must proclaim you a devil." You say with a sweep, regarding the two lovely ladies that now have their attention on you. Morgan with a raised eyebrow to you, and Maddie with a sharp glare at Morgan before looking to you with a relaxed, yet haughty expression. You carry on," All of us here have reason to avoid the eye of the church, and indeed the church very well may call all of us here heretics, heathens, witches, but none here are bad people.. Well, save for myself." That gets a chuckle from Madeleine from the irony of the situation."The saucy one is a contact of ours, she listens in taverns among other things, and while she is an eccentric tart she is quite sweet once you get to know her.. If you catch my meaning." Fonso looks over at her, only to receive a wink from Maddie."He's right you know... I'm quite a.. warm person when you get to know me.. Speaking of which, I've heard little about you from Rick here."Fonso sours his expression a bit, almost trying to hold back a smile, or perhaps his overall expression," Ah... I'm... Sorry. I'd lose my family if I found comfort in a woman that's not of the Romani... Rickton, Though, I can see where her place would ... come in with all of this.." He seems to concede at that."Good for you to calm yourself mate, all's well after all.." You take a swig of a wineskin, before raising it to Morgan,"Well then, you going to have a look at the man's mark or no? Fonso go on and show her."The Gypsy removes the red cloth and reveals it to Morgan, whom looks upon it with an identifiably keen interest. She runs a few tests, intermingling her own magics with the mark, requesting approval and explaining her actions to the man, keeping his fears properly dispelled.
>>26197322Yay, you're back. Good to see you. Hopefully we'll meet Maashima after we do our thing with Fonso, get more info on his hand, and hopefully turn him to our side.
As Morgan works, Madeleine scoots over to you, where you've taken to sitting upon a table, and places her head on your shoulder. The two of you make further smalltalk and the like right up until Morgan finishes her.. ahh.. assessment. "You have met a demon in the past, and its claw pierced your hand, yes?"Fonso says nothing to that."It reacts to the power of evil, you have felt it throb before in Rickton's prresence, yes?"Still nothing."It's throbbing hard right now isn't it?"Fonso blushes, and hard."You want to take it out, you want us to see its... power."Fonso loses it, as does Maddie. He's the first to get coherent however. With an accusing point at the Noah,"What the hell is upo with the way you're saying that?! It's... it's not throbbing it's just.."Madeleine comes out of her fit, snickering," Hard?""Shut up!" The gypsy yells, throwing the marked hand to his face, the lines of the marks glowing a deep and deadly red.."I'm feeling a power gather... Usually I use it to break something before it starts to hurt too much... It rarely gets like this.. and right now.. No, lately.. theirs been a lot going on.. And the power's... Built up? I guess you could say."Morgan smiles madly at the man... Obviously she appreciates this turn of events...>Anything you'd like to add?
>>26197482Good to see you as well, anon.
Aww yuh, Akuma quest. So have you decided on a form for Denis's L2 yet? I was still flopping between a scorpion, a "wyvren" that spits spikes, and a deformed-looking Knight with 2 shields that also are crossbows.
>>26197554A deformed looking wyvern knight with a scorpion tail and Wing-shields!That fits the bill for most Akuma L2 forms. And it's PERFECT.
>>26197322"edgy anime quest" & the duke are backbe still my heart>captcha .double-edged hatxpans
>>26197584>"edgy anime quest"Still gives me a chuckle..
>>26197501"I'm slightly worried about you if you get throbbing, hard, and built up in my presence instead it being due to these lovely ladies. I kid, I kid. Fonso, could you tell us about the event that led to your hand becoming as it is now. You were attacked by a demon right? How did you survive? When was this? The more we know the more we can help. Also you might want to show us your hand when you aren't holding it all in anymore, that could help us. I'll leave the judgement on that up to our expert in these matters and yourself of course."
>>26197582I'll sketch one up right now.
>>26197623Make it crawl instead of fly.. hehe..
>>26197602i support this
>>26197602A bit assholish but very in-character. Sounds good.
You stifle a chuckle in the back of your throat at the string of innuendo that Morgan just blurted out. "I'm slightly worried about you if you get throbbing, hard, and built up in my presence instead it being due to these lovely ladies..." Though you wave that off,"I kid, I kid. Fonso, could you tell us about the event that led to your hand becoming as it is now. You were attacked by a demon right? How did you survive? When was this? The more we know the more we can help. The gypsy sighs and seems resolved to tell his little tale."It was a long time ago, as I had said. Ten years ago actually.. I was a boy then, though almost a man by the Romani's way. My Father was the only thing that me and my brothers had left of immediate family. And then Plague took him, though it had spared us.I remember it clearly.. Black sores shaped like pentacles grew across his flesh, , and wherever they were.. he seemed weaker for it. It was a bad time for the Romani.. many had been struck ill by it.. yet those that cared for the dying.. They did not die themselves."Madeleine seems somber during Fonso's telling likely remembering what it's like to lose someone. Doubtful that she pities the gypsy man though... Morgan seems distant, or rather as though she's trying not to give away her real emotion in all of this. Her face is a mask.>You yourself?
>>26197623Hulking knight with "Claw shields" that are actually rapid-fire spike launchers, a horned, dragonlike helm, Scorpion tail that fires spikes too ("Tracer arrows"?) and dragon/insect wings used for a speed boost and hovering for short durations. Wings fold into a "cape" of sorts for the knight. It seems like while Denis is somewhat agile, he also can take a beating, so a heavy knight that can also move quickly is what I made. Maybe make him move like a slow, heavy knight until he needs to dodge or get a better vantage point, then he shows his true speed.
>>26197635Sorry, hadn't seen this until I was mostly done. Also, as far as I know noone has cannibalized the Centaur akuma's armor, maybe make Denis be the one who did.
>>26197886That would actually be perfect for an L3 form.. Absolutely perfect..I was imagining something a bit more.. monstrous for the L2. More on the Dragon/Scorpion side. This is DEFINITELY the L2 though. Bravo.>>26197918I can't quite remember what the consensus had been on who got the armor.. I recall it being between the children and Schwere.
>>26197983It is a bit human, but I just can't visualize him being able to use the claw arms effecctively as ranged weapons if they were any larger, so I stuck with that. Besides, the first Akuma we see in the original story is a humanoid Jester with exaggerated features too. I'll make a full drawing now, and I'll try to dehumanize it more.
>>26198057Indeed.. and only the dead can know rest from this evil...Oh... Wait.. That's a lie...
>>26197983.I can't quite remember what the consensus had been on who got the armor.. I recall it being between the children and Schwere.just a quick review, and it looks like Schwere took the armor
>>26198113Hell's yes Akuma quest.I wont be able to participate much because I forgot the mouse for my bloody laptop but I will be watching
>>26197884I'd say we are just looking at him, intent on listening. we're smiling on the inside though.
>>26197983Didn't we lose the armor scraps and centaur body when we fled Florin?
>>26198268Lost the body, though the armor scraps could be presumed to have already been assimilated.>>26198257Going with this unless there are any objections.
Ended up having to rush this because something came up, but this is a general idea. "Bones" for the upper legs and arms make it sufficiently monster-y, yes?
>>26198321i believe Schwere got the armor scraps.
>>26197884Keep a sympathetic expression, let him keep talking. If it looks like he's going to slow down or stop give him a reassuring gesture like a hand on his shoulder and telling him that we're all friends here and asking what happened next.
>>26198359Quite!Nice and heavy! Perfect for Denis. Thank you as always my good drawfriend. I do hope that the urgent matters aren't of an ill sort!Do well to take care!
Smiling on the inside, an intent and sympathetic listener on the outside. This human's sorrow can only be fuel for you and your family. Why would you bother caring about these organics anyway? Especially so with this one, he's a filthy gypsy.. Not even a gentleman barkeep like Frank.. Wait, was his name Frank?Your face squeezes into a sour expression as you can't seem to remember, or was it... Fred? Indeed, must have been Fred.. Oh wait, yes, the gypsy is talking, this demands that you listen..."When my Father passed, the Romani, the family that we traveled with all mourned.. I.. I didn't know what to do. It's a father's duty to teach his son how to be a man, how to be a part of the Romani.. A man came to me.. Wearing a Doctor's mask.. Normally the Romani never ask for help from anyone outside of the tribe... But I..." He holds both hands up to his face as he takes a seat, breathing deeply." Morgan's face still a mask, she makes no move, so you're the one to do it.With a hand on his shoulder,"It is alright, go on and tell the story.. We are all friends here."Fonso nods in his hands and pulls them away, his cheeks wet," I asked the man to bring back my father.. He said that he could.. So I asked him, and he did.. But when he came back, his body was not his own. The man ordered him to kill me, as a Father should be with his son.."Something in you stirs... You've seen the process before.. And none of the mourners ever had a chance against the newborn Akuma.. Why... What..."My father.. His will. It was strong.. So strong. He cut my hand.. Giving me this mark. He then told me.. He told me that I must destroy him with this curse.."He looks to the hand with the scar, the red lines gleaming with energy, the star in the center turning black and pulsating as he clenches a fist."It burned. It felt like my flesh was on fire.. And then I destroyed him.. with the power of this hand."Morgan nods, rising to stand before him, indeed," That is... quite interesting."
>>26198621Well we got a regular fucking Allen Walker around here, do not let the Exorcists give him an Parasitic Innocence that replaces his eye, that'd just be silly.Hmm, he's still got all that pesky morality intact so it'll be hard to use him for our purposes, but he's still an interesting enough specimen for Morgan to have fun with.
>>26198678who's to say he doesn't already have a parasitic Innocence?
>>26198678He still hates the church, that can be used to our advantage. >>26198621Now that's interesting, the curse gave him a weapon strong enough to kill an akuma? I wonder if innocence was involved somehow.
>>26198772I'm pretty sure we, or at the very least Morgan, would have noticed that.
>>26198823maybe it's dormant... I mean, what else besides Innocence and Magic can destroy an Akuma?
Morgan rolls her own hand in the air, her black fingernails catching the lantern-light of her suspiciously clean lab," Interesting indeed. You mean to tell me that you killed your own father after resurrecting him?"Fonso gives a nod as another tear rolls down his cheek," Yes, I did.. The last thing he had said to me.. 'Take care of Bo and Boiko.. I love you, my son.' " He gives a hard sigh, before looking up to Morgan."So, what can you tell me? What is this? And why does it hurt? Especially now?"Morgan's head snaps to him, her eyes affixed like a feline with a keen interest."What was the power you used? Can you.. Show us?"Fonso looks down to his hand and sneers, his features distorting along his right arm," I will show you... If you... Betray me... I will.. Kill you..." His voice comes out in growls as his flesh taints into a black with red veining, the Pentacle upon having released the power.Tendons snap as they readjust, muscles swell, and finally his arm completes its transformation into a hideous black claw with pulsating red power.Morgan's smile splits her face in a wide crescent," How... interesting.. Very interesting indeed. I see it now.. It's not unlike what I've studied..."She turns to you and Madeleine,"This Young man, it seems that the curse has infused Dark matter into his body.." With a swirl of her fingers, she goes on," He's feeding off of it along with the radiant mana.. Which, if you don't already know, is rather difficult form most humans to contain in their bodies.. Which leads to why they use talismans such as Swords, Shields, those dreadful pieces of paper.." She sighs.Fonso turns his head an eye taking on some of the black, yet it seems that the spread has stopped there."You seem to.. control it?"
>>26198781I'm thinking the curse made him something akin to an even more sloppily made second exorcist. You know the guys who come from those of the black order who don't really understand that implanting bits of Akuma in their operatives is a bad idea.
>>26198886Akumas and akumas accessory, but thats irrelevant.>>26198923MANA!So he basically has a reverse anti akuma weapon? He's a human infused with dark matter? We must study and weaponize this.
>>26198923ruh-roh. it reached his eye. I think he can see us.
>>26198996>We must study and weaponize this.this has my vote
>>26199021Probably not that type of Pro-Akuma weapon. (What it's the opposite of Innocence which is Anti-Akuma weaponry) If anything this looks more like an infection that will slowly warp and twist him into something very close to but not entirely like an Akuma.
>>26199078Which is totally awesome. Man I bet Morgan is just thrilled that we brought her such an interesting specimen. Also he does seem to be a lot angrier with it unleashed, maybe Morgan should try commanding him to do small things that he wouldn't think about, see if she can pull the Noah Command on whatever he is.
>>26199080Third. It gives us something to give to the Earl's human minions other than money. Suddenly it's a pitch about how now you too can match those bastard exorcists. It gives us a third class of infiltrator with some power and not major appearance or personality changes like the skulls or Akuma up until they activate the weapons.
Fonso nods, and pushes the corruption back, staying it at his shoulder," It's tough. But.. I can.. I can also..." He shifts his hand, palm up as if he were to hold something. His nails glow and a sphere of violent red energy appears at the center," I've had time.. and I've been bored more than once.. I've also had to stay this hand in the past.." Seems he doesn't seem to want to speak further on that part...Morgan smiles," Boy.. this... Gift of yours allows you to control mana.. And effectively at that."Fonso pushes the transformation all the way back, though gradually," Mana? I've heard of that before.. Sorcerers and witches manipulate it, right?"Morgan nods, and gives the man a wink, much to your irritation. With a finger raised she struts around her "humble" lab and explains," Mana is a latent force that dwells in all things in the world. Very few people can control it from birth, others must spend years of learning and still can only dream to obtain the power to wield it freely. However most people are capable of using objects infused with the power.."She looks to you and Morgan at this point.Your first thought is of the Crimson Order.. there was always something odd about their arms and armaments aside from those accursed talismans.. Could that be it?Morgan looks back to Fonso," If you would be a dear, I'd like you to stay so I can get more relevant information.. let's see exactly how much Mana you're eating up with that power, hm?"Morgan looks back to you and Maddie once more,"You two.. may leave now.. I've got work to do."Something stirs in your mind... a thought.. If you.. If you were the one to take this man.. You could likely figure something out about his power yourself..Will you leave this to Morgan?>Yes, I trust her after all.. And this is good for all of us.>No.. This find is mine and the family's. I will be the one to own it.
>>26199143leave her. we have things to do. she can handle herself.
>>26199143>>Yes, I trust her after all.. And this is good for all of us.and if everything goes very well, we might possible gain a agent that could build support for the duke among the gypsies
>>26199143As much as I'd like to kill and eat this guy, I choose>Yes, I trust her after all.. And this is good for all of us.we can do more tests with that and after Morgan's done, we can still eat him.
As always, any other input or dialogue is welcome. However I'd think that you'd want to know of this... branch.
>>26199078Which ironically is what we are in a fashion and it's what Morgan wanted to create. If we can find a way to reliably create these, lets call them Damned, we could get a fighting chance against the church. Remember that in their war against Akumas, the church didn't make many friends among the people.>>26199143>>Yes, I trust her after all.. And this is good for all of us.He's no threat to her anyway.
>>26199143>Yes, I trust her after all.. And this is good for all of us.Before we leave Morgan give her a kiss on the cheek and whisper into her ear "Have fun dear. I expect your findings will be quite interesting and I'm eager to hear them once you are finished."
>>26199207Shit. Now I'm curious about what WE could do. Maybe we could take care of this project personally, guys?
>>26199218>lets call them Damned i was kinda thinking something like sin, but damned could work.>>26199207"well then with your leave, we shall be off"
>>26199207"Very well, Morgan, Just be careful. Come along, Maddie, let's leave him." and after we leave the room, let's turn back to our Jacob form, as long as no one is around, and then talk to the priest.
>>26199143To extend what I said, >>26199207>>Yes, I trust her after all.. And this is good for all of us.We should give it to her as an olive branch to the Noah. We don't want them to pissed at us any more than they already are. Morgan is probably better equiped to deal with this anyway. >>26199299Damned also makes for terrible puns. Lets call the recipient of the curse the Damned and the weapon itself the Sin.
>>26199284An addendum to this; Fonso could be considered a cousin of out's. We might want to treat him like family. I don't know, this just seems like it could be related to our dream.
>>26199207We should quietly ask if she knows where her sibling is, I'd like to meet Maashima so we can go over things with him/her before the funeral.
>>26199358This gives me an idea. Lets give him a piece of black bread and look at his reaction. I am curious as to how he would react to the bread.
>>26199369this, knowing more would help greatly.>>26199342>Damned also makes for terrible puns. Lets call the recipient of the curse the Damned and the weapon itself the Sin.Going to be such a downer if damned never come to be. (not that we would blame you good duke)
>>26199399Go for the cake not the bread. With any of the breads if he responds as human then we are in all sorts of trouble. Most amusing to see would probably be the healing bread as it simultaneously puts healing into overdrive and opens old wounds if my theory is right.
>>26199399Later maybe, but not now.
Very well.. Seems you'd like to leave dear Fonso in Morgan's very... capable hands..Any more for a parting comment? Here I am, throwing you bones for very nice things and none of you can stand the price of having them... What a treat! <3
>>26199485>Here I am, throwing you bones for very nice things and none of you can stand the price of having them... What a treat! <3must be our gentle baker's soul getting the better of us again.
>>26199143>>26199485I know this is unrelated to the task at hand, but can we take Morgan aside and pitch some research ideas at her? I've been thinking on this for a while now, and I think Morgan can make this a reality. We already brought forth the notion of using the skulls as teachers and leaders, but what about incubators? What if we were to change the akuma making ritual by having a skull take the place of the mourning sucker who took the good doctor's deal. Have the newly born akuma forego it's own disguise and initial freedom, instead hibernating inside the skull. This would allow the fledgling to be moulded by the skull's superior control of dark-matter and mana. It would allow the akuma to learn all the essentials of blending in and being an effective hunter without giving itself away.Just... food for thought.
>>26199485Why settle for bones when an entire buffet can be obtained by waiting?
>>26199485I happen to like Morgan, and honestly as far as I can tell she is far more suited for tasks involving research and the effects of Dark Matter on things than we are.As I stated >>26199273 I advocate for a smooch before we go and making sure she knows to pass on what she learns to us. And also asking about Maashima and where to find them, call me curious but I like knowing about any Noah who are involved in our situation.
>>26199485>>26199485The price could be greater than the benefits. The Doctor is already very warry of us. We don't want to make things worse with him, as we need him to make Akumas. The Noah are our only ally anyway, so lets not betray them.
>>26199485What we will probably do nothing but get in the way and can ask Morrigan how things went later. As is the cost to benefit appears to be make fools of ourselves in an attempt to look tough and independent of the Noah in exchange for one possible ally that we have to lie to constantly. Or getting sweet Pro-Akuma weapons for our side of the conflict that will catch the church rather off guard and give us plenty of extra allies of use and possible family friends.
I just thought of something... what do you think happened to the soul of his father after he killed him?
>>26199711The only way to purify an Akuma is through innocence. No other way. It's possible that his soul and the dark matter are inside the cursed arm now.
>>26198426I'm back now, but I'll just be lurking from my phone as I leave for work in a few minutes. If the thread is still up when I'm back (3 AM probably?) I can draw some more concepts.
With a shrug, you push that haunting feeling aside... though it does not subside.. a gentle stigma still there as with a glance at Madeleine, you know. She doesn't want this man to be with Morgan.. You know that much about her to gather that without words."Very well then Morgan, we shall be leaving then. No need to waste our time here as you know far more of the subject than she or I."The Gypsy looks from Morgan, and then to you, a scowl crawling about his face even as the last of his corruption recedes,"No. I am not staying with her. I came here with you, Rick. I am leaving with you. She is not my friend. You are. I told my story to you, she listened." He looks to Morgan as her eyes go wide in an incredulous surprise.. However you feel the contention she's holding back within her features. She shakes her head quickly at that," No, No, I don't believe you will be leaving.. We have so much to do.." A dangerous smile breaks upon her face, as she stares at him"Fonso spits at her feet and clenches his fist, the corruption quickly spreading, his arm changing back,"I already told you, I will not stay.." His glare catches you," Rick, are you my friend? Tell me you are my friend and we will all leave together.">"Why, of course I did. You are among monsters.. " You flash a chainsaw smile, and move to restrain him.> "Morgan here jests, we'll be leaving now, the three of us, come on then Maddie, Fonso.> "I just brought you here for money man, Sorry. I'm out of shit's about to hit the fan." Take a drink and leave with Maddie.> (Other)
>>26199950Let's go for the second option, since I'm still advocating that we do something with him ourselves. And now we've got more reasons for why we should go with that option:We can probably beat down Fonso, but we don't want to cause a commotion hereFonso has siblings, who might also cause a commotion if their brother doesn't come back>Let's get out of here, buddy.
>>26199634Going from the latest post, it seems as if there is a very real possibility of us actually being able to do something about Fonso's ability.
>>26199950[X] "Morgan here jests, we'll be leaving now, the three of us, come on then Maddie, Fonso. We can always find her another mage, but this one is a good addition to our forces as is.
>>26199950> (Other)reassure Fonso that we will be back for him after we escort maddie home.
> (Other)Do you not want to take revenge on the church and the people who persecuted you are your family? The lady over here is possibly the sole person in the world that understands what is in your arm.Who knows, she could help you refine this weapon or perhaps free you from the curse. You could go back to your family and continue to endanger them with your very presence, or you could turn this curse into a blessing.
>>26200018let's do this, and whisper to Morgan as we leave. "Let's wait until the day of the funeral. then we can capture him without any extra commotion"
>>26200090was meant to quote >>26199950
>>26200103Gypsies are naturally suspicious. Let's not do something that obvious.Just give her a quick look while he's turned away from us.Anyways. As long as we have him, we might as well try and explore that feeling we (Faefnir) had earlier about being able to research/cultivate Fonso's ability ourselves.
>>26199950"Fonso, I am your friend. Now please, calm yourself and stop swinging that claw around." Try to put some Command into our voice, see if that works. "I am your friend. But Morgan here is also my friend, she may be overenthusiastic but that is merely because of how unique your case is, and she can do quite a lot to help you if you let her. She can come understand the curse, or perhaps blessing, that you have been given and help you control and understand it yourself. If you do not wish to stay with her we can come back at a later time, in the meanwhile I'll see if I can find anything through my own methods. Is that acceptable Fonso?"
>>26199950I say just try to talk him into staying with Morgan. Stick around if necessary. Perhaps get Madeline to go get some "sedatives" from the Nunkuma. You know just a clear fluid that when ingested helps keep patients nice and still and calm while Morgan works with them. Probably only as a last resort but still there as an option.
>>26199950>morgan here jests.A fight here would only draw attention to the lab
Seems to have shifted from leaving with him to talking him down....Ah, very well. let us see where that goes..
>>26199950I dont think we are going to be able to talk him into anything you guys,We allready had to convince him to stay just because maddie was standing there. He is a gypsi with a cursed arm, He is going to be way too suspicious to convince to stay on his own
>>26200253Actually, counting them, it seems to be 4 to 4 currently. A tie breaker is needed.
>>26200303And if you DO ask for one, I'm voting that we leave with him.
>>26200253If its a tie I say we let him go
>>26200199This sounds good.
>>26200328I'd say lets take him with us too, then we keep him with us. That way we get the treat, without the price.
>>26200303Why not a compromise between both. We talk to him as suggested then give him the choice to leave.
>>26200352Thats what I ment sorry
>>26200355also i'd think we should sell it as a short stay, and that we'll bring him back to his family before nightfall or something like that.
>>26200355Personally, I don't want him thinking we're all that invested in having him stay here with the apostate. His suspicion of strangers has been played up, and I'd rather not tip-toe the line. We have no immediate need for him to stay with Morgan and it is in our best interest to keep him friendly with us.
>>26200355It's pretty clear that he doesn't want to stay here with Morgan alone.
>>26200253Voting talk him down"I apologize for Morrigan she doesn't get out much and tends to get a little obsessive with whatever oddity has her eye this week. Don't worry though she is very good with magic and should be able to help you with your arm quite a bit. As it is you seem to demonstrate massive mood swings while it is in use. Morrigan will hopefully at least be able to straighten that out."
>>26200397I have an idea. Let's have Morgan show him her Noah form. If we want him to trust her, we got to show him that we trust him
>>26200436>Calling him an oddity>Yeah there's no way this can go wrong
Has the Duke actually already started writing? Are we locked in already?
>>26200479>Here's an idea. Let's have Morgan show him her abomination against all that is just and holy form because that will totally make him trust us more.Really showing him that form would probably make him rock hard and throbbing heavily.
>>26200479Dude He got attacked by the demonic remains of his father, How do you think he will react to a very demonic looking morgan wanting to "examin" him?
Rolled 17>>26200590she only looks demonic if you know about the noah
>>26200610If we're not sure how he's going to take it, from what we know of him, don't do it at all. Safety and caution, gentlemen.
>>26200590If anything, we can say she was cursed (by which we mean blessed)
>>26200625That sounds boring
>>26200648We may not want to lie until we can't help but do it.
>>26200610She turns blue and gets a ring of markings around her head.He will totally know something shifty is afoot
>>26200677Dude, in his cursed form, he looks worse than her. I think he can take it
>>26200696Wanna ask for a vote? We're democratic people, after all.
>>26200648>>26200661He's not a stupid fellow. He's allready dead cautious even though he thinks everyone is full human, and he has something we apparently really want.Sometimes you have to handle things in a carefull boring way.
>>26200714Vote for it ala shadow quest?seems like the sensible thing to do right now
Might not even be an option, though, seeing as how the Duke hasn't checked up on us. He might have already wrote the next update without seeing our continued discussion.
>>26200696I think it's a bad idea to complicate the situation even further by having Morgan show that she's not what she seems to be and turning blue. Just overall a bad idea. We don't need to complicate an already difficult situation.
You scratch your head with a bit of a smile on your face, thoughts turning, and that nagging.. GREEDY feeling coming back into your mind.. This human call you a friend.. It's a ripe laugh, for sure. However.."Fonso, I am your friend." As you say, you put command into this next part," Now please, calm yourself and stop swinging that claw around. It's making me nervous man.."You notice that some of the corruption recedes at that, though not by much." And not a lot actually makes ME nervous.." You roll your eyes and gesture towards Morgan with a roll of your hand," That is, of course. Except when this dear lady gets angry." Morgan's eyes are locked on you, expectant of you to convince him. Madeleine stands up as you go on."Morgan here is also my friend, a friend of a friend if I may.. Sure she's a... bit.. overenthusiastic.. but she's a good woman and knows about this sort of thing, you heard her after all.""Yes, yes, yes Rick.. But she is not MY friend. To the Romani, that is a difference that you do not see." Fonso clenches his fist, red energy crackling from the force.Morgan seems equally entranced and wary at the same time..Madeleine walks over to Fonso and touches his human shoulder, causing him to retreat, pulling away from her abruptly," Do NOT touch me."
>>26200794Oh, don't be so uptight. I mean, what are the gypsies gonna do if he doesn't come back? Tell on us? I think not
Madeleine looks back to you out of the corner of her eye, and folds her hands behind her back," Well well, I won't be, not unless you tell me to. I for one am ready to leave, Rick had promised that we'd be sharing a bed together for the rest of the evening after all.."Morgan sneers at that and struts up to Madeleine even as Fonso backs off from the two, inching around to get near you and the exit.."What's this of the two of you sharing a bed? No.. Agh..." Her hands shake with her anger and aggravation," I want to know more about.. " She seems quite distracted now..Madeleine clucks her tongue." Indeed, we share a bed together.. Can't see why he'd ever be interested in a woman with such small tits. Hanging about in a basement all the time doing the devil knows what." Seems Maddie's Tart factor has kicked in.."That's enough Madeleine!" You roar at the blonde. Her response, is a single look back and,"Not quite enough for what she's meant to do to us. After all, I can't trust this ugly brooding bitch as far as I can.. Oh, come to think of it, she might get some distance being so thin and pasty.. Prolly couldn't find her in the snow though."Morgan grits her teeth and delivers an open handed slap to Madeleine, who takes it without a flinch," Oh yeah? Is that it? You got any more to give you bleed'n sow?" She smiles at that and turns away from Morgan's wrath, strutting haughtily over to the door. You notice now.. Fonso's gone amidst the distraction. You hear Morgan scream and conjure a sphere of flame in her palms.. You can only guess at her target, she's staring at Maddie's turned back.> "Morgan! Enough!"> Stand in the wave of the spell.> Let it go through. Madeleine's gone too far.> (Other) I run auto update as I write, I see all conversation up until I post and implement whatever I can. /spoiler]
>>26200850Does Gypise curse meen nothing to you man?
>>26200864>Stand in front of the spellWe've got some....minor protection against fire.
>>26200850They DID refer to killing you in your sleep..
>>26200864> (Other)ENOUGH! BOTH OF YOU!
>>26200887An addendum; Fonso may still trust us a little. I doubt we can get him to go to Morgan again, so if we get the chance to, let's try pursuing our other option instead this time.
>>26200864How in the hell did all this happen?
>>26200940 Tart Factor. You brought her here.
>>26200883>>26200888WE FEAR NO DIRTY, STINKING GYPSIES.besides, they only know our Asher form. we'll be fine.
>>26200864[X] Stand in the wave of the spell.Really now? Just because she was insulted is no reason to attack her. Good thing fire does jack squat against us.
>>26201027hopefully this will make both sides come to their senses
>>26200887Make sure to transform a bit; we might be more durable in our Akuma form.>>26201027Noah have killed Akuma for lesser reasons. We're the only one Morgan really respects.
>>26200955I was wondering why the hell we brought her here. I was wondering why the hell we thought bringing anyone here with us was a good idea actually
>>26200864And this is why I was against bringing Madeleine with us. God damn it people."Morgan! Calm down right now! I somehow doubt fighting among ourself is going to solve anything. If you haven't noticed Fonso wandered off.Madeleine! Apologize now. Morgan is hot, you're sexy, you're both drop dead gorgeous and acting like fucking children, except the children are better behaved and don't bicker. Now the both of you, stay here and calmly and peacefully sort out your differences like adults while I go fix the mess the TWO of you made. If I come back and you're still at each other's throats or one of you is dead I won't be sharing a bed with either of you."
>>26201027you kidding? for an Akuma to be so insulting to a Noah, it's more than enough reason for them.>>26200864stand in the wave of the spellI knew we shouldn't have brought Maddie...
>>26201054I have been saying we are a bit too trusting of the woman who told us to kill our selves
>>26201085was probably the duke who gave her the order.
>>26201085hey, this might actually have nothing to due with the fact that Maddie is an akuma. it might have to do with the fact that they both are female. surely we know that women can't get along together.
>>26201085That was over fear. Now, she's just angry.WOMEN AMIRITE.
>>26201128Do we get to tell them to kiss and make up after this?
>>26201107The duke is a man.If he wanted us dead he would have done it him self. And we would be really fucking dead
Things were easier when we were killing towns.
>>26201122Not just any women. Madeleine is tart of epic proportions and Morgan is almost autistic.
>>26201138Never stop dreaming for that fantasy, my friend. That's what all men dream for.>>26201146Yep.Well, I can't see us staying in this town for any longer after the funeral.
>>26201122I dont know about you guys but when the women I know start fighting it doesnt usually end in fire throwing.
>>26201171Looks like you know some exceptionally boring women.
>>26201141sorry, i meant in the regard to investigate the extent of our deviance from normal akuma.
>>26201171do the women you know have magic? I think not.
>>26201171Let's not seriously argue about this. The women we know are crazy (and that's how we like it). Let's leave it at that.
>>26201146We brought it on ourselves dragging people who we know dislike morgan directly to morgan
>>26201185Technically Maddie isn't even a woman. She's a sexless robot wearing a woman's skin.
>>26200864Stand between Morgan and Madeleine to stop any fireballs and do this >>26201067Be sure to emphasize that they're both being immature children and that we are unlikely to spend time with either of them if they keep this up.
>>26201200The drama started when the Noah came into the group.
>>26201177They do the best they can with what they have. There were several broken noses afterwards I recall.Good times
>>26201217Let's not do that part you're suggesting. Let's stay professional about this; it would be demeaning to emphasize any other aspect of this argument.
>>26201231To be fair, Morgan was exactly responsible for getting jailed by the church and our shitty battle plan that lead to Ivan's death.
>>26201217crazy enough to work!
>>26201231I hate to continue this argument any longer but I'd say a lot of the drama started when She ordered us to blow up.Its just a good thing Ivan wasnt there for that. He would have been sooo pissed
>>26201254Your first reason is invalid for obvious reasons and her second reason, we've already dealt with.We (by which I mean the majority) all wanted to attack Florin. It's unfair to transfer blame after the event in question and only when some anons moods towards Morgan started to sour.
>>26201254made a typo here, wasn't*
Your body reacts before your brain, and you dart in the path of the fire spell just as it's released. You burn away some of your human flesh and trigger your Blast Furnace's redirection of heat. The concussive force peels away your scales like butter, leaving a raw wound that exposes your inner structure..You've got Madeleine in your arms, rigid as a board. You hear a shaky whisper from her, "Faefnir, I've sassed Schwere before and she's never done this. Do you understand now? She is NOT family.."You hear Morgan's exaggerated breathing come to a finish as she recomposes herself," Faefnir.. I.. I am sorry.. I... I did not mean to.. You must understand, she.. She antagonized me.. She dared to.."You groan and absorb a Binding Baguette directly from your oven, causing the wound to patch up.. If you didn't disperse the heat, the damage... would have been far worse.."Morgan... You need to stay calm.. Fighting amongst ourselves is not going to solve anything. In the case you haven't noticed, Fonso has run off during this folly..."> Tell Madeleine to apologize?> Or is she right?Whichever it is.. Will you..> Pursue Fonso>Or let him go for now?
>>26201280We were arguing?
>>26201306Let's leave it at that for now.Tell Morgan that we can talk about all this later, but for now, we need to get to Fonso.Have Madeleine leave to resume her duties at the tavern while we try to pursue the gypsy man and try to repair his trust in us.
Are we still go for trying to go full skinwalker on the body of the lord's wife and using it for some happy Funtime massive despair causing mindgames with him followed by us seeing what's so great about this tart off thing in the next town?
>>26201306> Tell Madeleine to apologize?> Or is she right?we dont care who started it, but we did end it and we have work to do
>>26201280That is actually a fair point...If Ivan were still here.. Would he have not been saying the exact same things that Maddie is saying?
>>26201306Tell them they are both wrong and then we can go track down that gypsie
>>26201306"Maddie, apologize to Morgan. she isn't used to your sass yet. And you are right, she is not family. I never said she was. she is our ALLY."
>>26201356Quite likely. From the beginning, we were the only ones who had any real love and loyalty for the Noah. Ironically, we are also the only ones who could choose to defy them, if we so wished.
>>26201327Since we were on /tg/ and had diffirent oppinions I assumed we were arguing. Not a heated one or anything. Sorry about that
>>26201387The way I see it, feelings are a bit too high for us to do any proper mediation. Calling Morgan an ally would just make Maddie even more angry at how Morgan hurt us. And Morgan might feel hurt; she undoubtedly feels bad for what she just did to us, but treating her coldly may have a bad effect.Let them simmer a while and we can come back to fix it all up. Just like baking bread....you can't rush these kinds of things....
>>26201393Maddie and Kama showed a good amount of love for the doctor after Temes. They just got preoccupied with their developing egos.
>>26201450We could just be like: we will talk about this later we have a qypise to reassure now.God damn it if we loose wha ever that gypise had Im going to be moderatly pissed
>>26201522We might not have lost it; just had it more difficult to attain.
>>26201549Worst case scenario we just pick him up before we leave the city.
>>26201549maybe the nuns stopped him? because seriously, this is ruining our plans. let's just forget about him for now and go back to the plan.
>>26201581worst case is that the gypsies leave and we cant find them again.
>>26201306They're both wrong, though right now Morgan is being more wrong.Keep our voice calm and level."Morgan, I want you to apologize to Madeleine, not to me, to Madeleine. And do learn to hold your temper, none of us are to be treated in such a manner. Is that understood? You were pushed but were I not there you would have gone too far. I will talk to you later in private. Madeleine, you knew very well that you were pushing her further than you should have, you knew very well that she is not Schwere, you are neither blind nor deaf. I am not excusing or justifying what she did, but focusing on your actions. She is not family, she is an ally and I would rather we not start losing our rare allies and friends because you're insecure. If you keep on starting fights like this I will reconsider sharing a bed with you. Now apologize for being antagonistic. Now my dears, you're both pretty as can be, try to get along while I fix this. I don't want to come back to a warzone."Then go after Fonso.
>>26201592Let's not.His power is triggered by evil, it seems. And it's hard for him to control. We're planning something of a massacre tomorrow.Let's not forget about him.
>>26201592You dont want to mess with nuns bro.But seriously if the good doc felt it would be important to let us know about this then its safe to say we want what ever he's got
>>26201629I said let's forget about him FOR NOW. we need to get this plan off the ground soon. the sooner, the better.
can't we just plan a nice, fun massacre and worry about the gypsy later?
>>26201648But if we leave it too long the Nuns might catch him!
>>26201453Yes well the Doctor is a different sort than Morgan. She is a constant presence while the Doctor comes and goes dispensing compliments and goals as he pleases. As they say 'familiarity breeds contempt.'
>>26201713i'm worried the gypsies might skip town after the massacre.
>>26201716your point being?>>26201734which is why we go after them DURING the massacre.
>>26201648Stop worrying about time. We HAVE time. Let's focus on immediate concerns.
Also whisper to Morrigan on way out "You have to remember that Madeline is really just a little girl in her soul. She's actually had less than you before Ivan and I killed her."Also I suspect that the forcefield is not the full extent of Madeline's special ability. Yes that is the initial phase whenever she transforms but it was also the initial phase for her innocence back when she was alive. She probably has to invest experience to unlock the additional forms though.
>>26201750A dead gypsy is no use to us.
>>26201771We have like a week or two dont we?More than enough time
>>26201306Madeleine is right one of the family would never attack just for a slight. As to Fonso try and find him and escort him home. Build up that trust.
You let out a groan as you revert entirely back to your human form," Enough is enough." You look back to Morgan, who still wears a shocked and almost hurt expression,"I'll speak to you later Morgan.. I need to find Fonso.. This has turned into a real mess after all.. Oh, and could you.. Ahh... Contact The Pity? I'd like to speak to him about his involvement with the funeral.. Tonight would be a good time."Back to business, as always. It's the only thing you CAN do in this mess after all..Morgan scrunches up her face, right before recomposing herself once more, biting at her painted black nails,"Yes.. Yes.. that can be arranged... I'll.. I'll be here. Alright?"You feel Madeleine grab your shirt," No more Faefnir, let's go." Pulled by the demon's oppressive strength, you spare Morgan one more backwards glance as the two of you disappear into the afternoon light streaming through the church's interior. Taking on a multitude of hues from the stained glass..You start about on the prowl for Fonso, Madeleine speaking with you during the search."I don't like her." She says. "She would hurt me so easily. And she would hurt you.""It is.. It's not like that Madeleine.. You crossed a line and hurt her pride.. You should expect her retaliation.""She tried to KILL me Faefnir, and would have if you hadn't risked yourself. How far are you going to go for the Noah? What would Ivan think of this?"You turn to her on that point, even as the sparse people go about their business on the street," You DO NOT bring Ivan into this Madeleine.I've already told you that it was NOT her fault."
>>26201771not really. we have to take over the baking for the funeral, lace all the baked goods with tranquilizer's, make our plan of attack with the rest of the family, and other such things.also, chasing after him might bring unwanted attention to us. especially from the exorcist in town.
Madeleine looks away from you, her voice a whisper" I meant.. If Ivan were here.. What would he have thought of her ordering you to die? Wouldn't he stand before them, Noah or no?"She throws her arms to her sides," Wouldn't he have said 'You will not harm my comrades so long as I draw breath?' " She finally starts tearing up, she puts her hands to her face to hide the oil tears."Will we let them hurt us now that he's gone? We don't have to bother with this.. this.." She sighs,"Jacob.. I'm a mess. I'll be going home to clean up.">Any parting words?>Walk her home...
>>26201870Tell her that you're happy that she cares so much about us and that we need her to trust our decision on the matter.
>>26201870"What happened to Ivan was due to the Asher and the people like him. If it means killing those like him, I would gladly work with those who do not trust me, but never assume that I would risk the family's lives for this goal."She should walk home alone to give herself time to think.
>>26201931An addendum; say that we're doing what we think is best for our family.
>>26201870Give her a hug and a few kisses."Did I let her hurt you Madeleine? No, I didn't, and I never will. I want you to understand that, no matter how much time I spend with her I will never turn on you.Our position is a tenuous one, we are Akuma but we are different, we need not listen to the Noah's commands nor can the Doctor see through our eyes. This obviously leads them to distrust us, and we are not strong enough to fight them should they turn on us. Perhaps the greatest reason why they have not done so is because they are losing against the Crimsons and they need us. But I would much prefer to have the Morgan, the who thinks of me as a rescuer and hero not have any reason to think ill of our Family and instead to have every reason to speak in our defense and for our loyalty. So I am going to ask something of you and I care not how difficult it is for you. When next you see Morgan apologize for goading her, and try not to antagonize her further. I don't care if you mean it or not, but try to be friendly towards her. You don't have to obey her, but do be friendly. Is that understood dear?"
>>26202059> I don't care if you mean it or not, but try to be friendly towards her. You don't have to obey her, but do be friendly. Is that understood dear?"in many ways like we wear put up masks around the humans so to should we wear masks around the Noah to protect ourselfves.
>>26202059this. also, I think we should let the gypsy go for today. the funeral is in 2 days. and I think we should give the gypsy some space for now.
>>26202059I missed a word. "But I would much prefer to have Morgan, the Noah who thinks of me as a ..." I forgot the word Noah. She needs to know that we do not go and antagonize the Noah, we do not act as their tools and slaves, we act as their friends and allies and as such we do not insult them needlessly. We pick our battles with care and fighting them is a terrible idea most of the time. We get them to like us, we get them to respect us, and we don't start fights with them. Make it clear that she is to bury that fucking hatchet between them or at least act like it is six feet under. Also tell her that Morgan seeking our attention and affection is a very good thing and to not get in the way of it.After this I think we should look for Fonso, it'll give Madeleine time to think and we should at least talk to him.
>>26202059I vote this. We are on the side of the Noah, but on the other hand we are not so loyal to them that we are willing to let members of our family to fall by their sadly ignorant hands. We really ARE loyal to them, in our own way. If they misunderstand and declare us persona non grata we WILL resist. The family will live on, it will evolve, it will turn the tide, if only they let us do so.
>>26202139Gonna have to say no to that, and the majority of us have already voted to follow him. Also, from the update, it seems we're locked in, so it might be time to drop the issue, man.
>>26202216Gotta disagree. His curse can kill Akuma. Not as bad as Allen's curse, which was a real game changer as he could see RIGHT through a disguise (which is pretty damn bad from our perspective even if he has no Innocence. Pair him with a General. Can you even count the amount off dead Akuma if that happens? Because I can't). But it still makes him quite an X-Factor. Thankfully, it's an X-Factor that can potentially work for us. If we can get him to turn against humanity we should.
We'll always have more opportunities to male Slulls. There's only one Fonso (for now).
>>26202313Agreed, let's let it simmer for one day and find him tomorrow. I would try to argue more, but I can't type fast on my phone
You put your hands on Madeleine and pull her into an embrace, her body shaking against yours.. You realize that you've come quite far from when you had to even remember to "breath.."You've come so far, and yet.. you're still so young..You give Madeleine a kiss on her forehead, calming her down a little as he run your fingers through her hair."Faefnir.. She whispers so only you can hear before burying her unseemly face into your chest.. It was a moment, however her slitted eyes showed.."Have I let her hurt you Madeleine? I would never, nor will I. I want you to understand that, no matter how much time I spend with her, I will never turn on you..You whisper to her affectionately,"Our position is a tenuous one, with being what we are..We need not listen to to their command, and that sows distrust. Yet we are not yet strong enough to defend ourselves should they turn on us. Perhaps the greatest reason why they have not done so is because they are losing and they need us. But I would much prefer to have Morgan, who thinks of me as a rescuer and hero not have any reason to think ill of us and instead to have every reason to speak in our defense and for our loyalty. So I am going to ask something of you and I care not how difficult it is for you. When next you see Morgan apologize for goading her, and try not to antagonize her further. I don't care if you mean it or not, but try to be friendly towards her. You don't have to obey her, but do be friendly. Is that understood dear?"
She shakes her head in your chest at that," I'm not. I won't.. She hurt you. She hurt our family. There's no apologizing for that. I only did that to see if she would and she did." She wipes her face off on your red shirt and pushes out of your embrace, looking at you with sheer stubborness," I'm going home now. I'll see you later."Without another word, she leaves. You look at your now stained shirt with a bit of disappointment... It had been so rich too..You start off to find Fonso, heading back to the Lakeside where his family stays, however as you turn to an off-road a hand catches your arm and pulls you fiercely into the shade of a building. You nearly snap into your demon form before you see that it is Fonso, staring at you with eyes as stoic as Armbrust's.. yet so much deeper," You. Rick. My Friend." He enunciates that last part."You're going to explain to me what that wicth had said about Dark matter. You knew something, I could see it in your eyes. What did she want with me? Tell me what this is about..."He's gripping you with the cursed hand...> Play the fool, be glad that he's alright and leave on your merry way.> Spill what's going on. Tell him the truth. the whole truth.> Tell him what he needs to know.> (Other)
>>26202613THIS IS WHAT I WAS TRYING TO AVOID. Nice going, guys. sorry if I come off as angry, I'm just really pissed off that this storm knocked out my power and now I have to type on my phone slowly.
>>26202613[X] Tell him what he needs to know.Well why not? Also Madeleine seems to be developing her ego nicely seeing as she refused something based on her principles.
>>26202613"Fonso, do you want to live in ignorance, or do you wish to know the truth? There would be no shame in running away from this town today with your caravan. However, if you truly wish to understand what you have become, you must face it head on. Choose your path and stick to it."Gauge his reaction, then reveal ourselves a little. Not our true form, but just enough for him to see what we are.
>>26202752I don't understand your reaction; this isn't bad at all. He still retains a measure of trust in us. It would have been worse if he was given more time to become more paranoid.
>>26202866Because we either: A. Tell him the truth and he becomes horrified, or B. tell him a lie that he will probably see through
>>26202613Damn it Madeleine, you stubborn tart. Also she's got some quirk having to do with family, protectiveness, stubbornness or a combination of them."Fonso, my friend. You don't get into a situation like mine without learning a few things. I would hardly call myself an expert but I should be able to help. Now let go of me and allow me to explain.I'm sure you're aware of the Crimson Cross and their Exorcists who wander around with holy weapons. Such weapons are made from Innocence, Dark Matter is its equal and opposite, or perhaps they are two sides of a coin, but such differences are philosophical and not really relevant right now. It's a source of power and can be expressed in numerous different ways by Demons and other dark things.Morgan was interested in you because Dark Matter is generally not good for people in the least, and a human having Dark Matter infused in their body and the Dark Matter allowing them to feed off of radiant mana and control the Dark Matter is unprecedented. It more closely resembles how an Exorcist's Innocence works than how Dark Matter usually works. She wants to understand why it worked this way for you, she's a curious woman, and possibly to replicate such a thing in order to give people who desired it strength. Strength enough to protect what's dear to them and fuel her understandable vendetta against the Church."
>>26202915Draw anon here, phone typing ughBasically say the truth but in the woods or somewhere safe in case he turns on us. Maybe call the doctor and have him tell fonso our side?
>>26202990Onto something here drawfriend, however it isn't quite what you think..
>>26202915Postponing the meeting would have made things worst. Don't whine like a child just because things didn't go your way; keep it inside.
>>26202990I don't think dragging yet another mysterious stranger into this will endear Fonso to us. I mean seriously, he had a bitch fit about Morgan, a guy showing up in a Plague Doctor's mask will not go over well.
>>26202990Why do people keep forgetting about how suspicious gypsies are? Going out somewhere remote is the last thing we should suggest.
>>26203035Hey, he wants to hear the truth and who better than Adam?
>>26202990That is actually a bad idea, because he has already met the doctor. Let's just say that he didn't exactly enjoy that meeting
>>26203179He trusts us. He would certainly not trust the Doctor.Come on, guys. How hard is it to rely on ourselves rather than on NPCs to take care of a problem?
>>26203285Well, the guy does have an arm that can kill us easily and is currently throwing a big wrench in our plans. So I'm going to say very. Also, where did everyone go? There doesn't seem to be a lot of discussion

You hold up a hand," Hey, easy now.. easy there Fonso. We're friends right? Let me go, I won't run.. Alright?"Fonso stares into your eyes intently before throwing your arm out of his grip. "Talk now."You wipe off your sleeve and gather your words with a breath,"Fonso, my friend. Wouldn't you rather live in ignorance?"He stares at you. An obvious answer of no."Geeze, tough guy here. So.. " You take a seat on a nearby barrel," You wish to know the truth?"A curt nod, he remains standing," That is what I want from you right now."You sigh and scratch your head, stalling to figure this all out," Well, if you wish to understand what you've become, you'll need to face it head on."You take a look around, raising eyebrows, checking to see if anyon'e around before you lean forward a hand cupping the side of your mouth,"Say, you really want to know?"Fonso clenches his fist at that for an answer."Well, to start with.. You don't get into a situation like this without learning a few things. I'd hardly call myself an expert... But you know.. I kind of am. And I'm the exact right guy you should be speaking to."You touch the shoulders of your tunic and adjust the fabric," I'm sure that you're aware of the Crimson Cross, and the exorcists running around and generally oppressing smallfolk like ourselves.. Yes?"
He looks at his hands thoughtfully," Yes, The Crimson hunt us when they think there's an apostate among us... I've been hunted more than once.. This is my brother's fifth caravan..You nod, and clap your hands onto your thighs, and point to him," Right, that's exactly what i'm talking about. They run us all into the dirt at the slightest suspicion of anything they disapprove of. But, what I need to get at is that their holy weapons... They're called Innocence.. It's my understanding that it's the polar opposite of dark matter.. or something. Which is indeed, what Morgan had mentioned is in you!"Fonso looks to the mark and fleshes the black energy that seems to permeate it. "So.. that's what it is... And where do you fit in all of this?"> Well me? I'm a demon!> "I don't much I'm afraid, just someone who's been kicked out of church for squeezing a few asses too many and enjoying my drink a bit too much!"> "No, the better question is, what are YOU?"> (Other)
>>26203498>>26203512" I ... well I was part of the hunts and I left because of reasons that I don't want to talk about. And now I try to forget all of that with loose women and strong drink."
>>26203512>> (Other)show him our heat magic without changing into akuma"I guess you could say I'm more then I appear, just like you"
>>26203512>OtherFirst, we should ask him of what he knows about the Crimson. We can build around what he knows. Better to gauge his understanding of the war between the Noah and the Exorcists (which should be minimal).>>26203594We can do this afterward to reinforce his trust in us.
>>26203512"I'm on the side that the church is really after, the side they don't want anyone to know about. All those they call demons, apostates, witches, even simply folks like us that the Crimson tries so hard to sweep under the rug. While they fight for there god, we fight for those like us"
>>26203512[X] "I don't much I'm afraid, just someone who's been kicked out of church for squeezing a few asses too many and enjoying my drink a bit too much!""Unfortunately for me, one of these asses was of the demonic variety. Thus my title as a heretic." Try to inject some humor.
>>26203512"Me, I'm a lot like you now that I think about it, in more ways than one.All I want is to make my way in the world, protect my dear family, bake the perfect loaf of bread, and most everything else can burn for all I care. Oh, and I have some personal reasons to consider the Church and the Crimson Cross utterly vile and worthy of nothing but death. Such a goal leads me to work with people like Morgan. The rest, the rest isn't all that important."
>>26203643I'm for this
>>26203643Voting for this.
>>26203643>>26203594this with the magic part afterward to bolster trust>>26203512
>>26203731Actually, I change my vote to this
>>26203512I left the crimson cross because I no longer believed I was doing something good. The church has sunken lower than those they hunt, willing to slay the innocent and the defenseless to suit their own agenda. Fonzo, you cannot help what you are. If the church discovers what you can do, imagine the horrors they will visit upon your friends just to get to you...This is why I brought you to Morgan, I can't stop the church from hunting you- but I sure as hell can give you a chance to fight back. You're a good man, Fonzo. I just don't want to see you die for something you couldn't control.
You smile at that.. And you.. really consider that question for a moment. It's been... strange since you've realized your independence.. Stranger still that it'd be a gypsy that you'd be confiding your personal truth in.. but you look at him..The same man you've been playing cards with for well over a week. The rest of his caravan spared you a glance now and then once the glaring subsided. However it had been he and his brothers that actually humored you in your reconnaissance."Me? I'm a lot like you now that I think about it.. All I want is to make my way in the world, protect my dear family, bake the most magnificent bread.. " You scratch your head," Hell, most everything else can burn for all I care."Fonso seems to relax a bit at that and sits across from you, his expression softening some," But it's just not that simple for us... Is it?"You hold your hand out and conjure a small flame," No... It really isn't."His eyes catch it and he looks to with what seems to be a new understanding, "So, that's where you fit in this.. isn't it?""Yeah. I'm an apostate.. To tell the truth? I was never even with the church. But I tend to say that I am to protect myself.." You look him dead in the eye for this one, this is the clincher."I'm on the side that the church is really after. The side they don't want anyone to know about. All that they call demons, apostates, witches, or even simply unfortunate folk such as you or I are being swept under the rug by the Crimson and the Black orders.. While they fight for god.. We fight for those.. like us.. "
He seems thoughtful on that.. The two of you share a moment of silence, until he finally rises," Rick.. You are still my friend. I want you to know that.. Though I can't get involved in such a fight while I have my brothers to take care of.. and my caravan to be a part of.. I am not a person like you. I am Romani.. and we must deal with our own problems.I... thank you for your honesty.. I'll be going now."As he leaves, you've got Rickton making a stupid sort of grin... You see a man walk by the street in a cloak, a little odd, but what hasn't this day?You return to The Lady's Rest until nightfall and pick up Andrea from the bakery.. You have a meeting with Morgan... and perhaps The Noah of Pity if he indeed did come...>Will you be bringing anyone else for the meeting?-Madeleine-Schwere-Armbrust-Kama-Wendel-Kralle-Edward
>>26204187Bring Schwere. Her cool head will be useful if things go south again.
>>26204187Not Madeleine, for the love of everything unholy and sinful in the world not Madeleine. Honestly just go alone, if the fecal matter hits the rotating impeller device it won't matter if we have another person or two with us and bringing the whole gang is just plain impolite.
>>26204187What happened to meeting with the priest?
>>26204187Schwere. Of all our family members, she seems the most reasonable and least likely to lash out.
>>26204187Well, since this is a planning meeting we might want to bring Schwere and Armbrust for being in the lord's employ and the guards respectively; they might have heard something. But with tensions running high alone might just be best.
>>26204258He'll be there. You're meeting at the church.
>>26204187Fuck no we arent bringing anyone. We dont need to difuse anymore bullshit right now
>>26204284Very well then.Bring Armburst and Schwere. I am confident that they can stay professional
>>26204269Remember, Denis (Armbrust) already said that the guard won't be present for the funeral. The Crimson are suspicious and taking care of security themselves.>feweest TemptationBut captcha, more temptations are always a good thing!
>>26204187Bring Schwere and Armbrust.
So, it's my understanding that Armbrust and Schwere can be agreed upon?Surely the two family's stoics can maintain face in the presence of the Noah... Right? Right?
>>26204394Im calling it right now. Someone starts an argument. We should have left the kids at home
>>26204394I have faith in there self control. Now, show me how extremely ill-placed that faith is.
>>26204431Oh? Would you like Wendel and Kralle to come as well? We could definitely do that. Not sure why you'd want them to come.. but of course, we could always do that as well.
>>26204394I was against it but it looks like I'll have to find a way to salvage it when everything goes tits-up.>>26204470No. No no no no no no no. NO!
>>26204394Voting no on bringing Denis with, please. He's seemed to have filled in for Ivan, and like Maddie said, won't view the Noah's actions in a particularly pleasant light. Stoicism only goes so far, and we've seen bits of his personality leak through before.
>>26204470Sorry I meant all the Akuma but us as the kids.I can Just imagine all of them in a car on a road trip now, and us shouting about turning the car around

>>26204520Bastard laptop double posts
>>26204394Lets go with just Schwere. We should always bring someone with us to help keep the family at ease
Positive that you don't want to bring Armbrust?Really sure? Extra sure?
>>26204590i want him, dude is bro
>>26204394The thought occurs that taking the most stable of them away while Maddie helps pass along the previous events may be quite interesting. And we really should talk to the others about it very very soon. They are Family, after all. And working out the balance in how our Family defends itself while still sharing goals with those who are unsure of how to treat us isn't meant to be an easy thing.
>>26204590personaly I think its in our best intrest not to bring anyone with us, since we can be assured we wont cause an argument out of no where

>>26204590Yes, I'm sure.>>26204733Probably our patron devil, I think, based on the little description we had of it when it nearly ate the bakerwoman.
>>26204777I'm not sure if that is better or worse
>>26204590Dennis is all about Duty, if anyone keeps a cool head besides Schwere I'd say him
>>26204801Better, obviously. The dear fellow has done so much more for us than the Asher has.
You swing back by The Lady's rest, filling the family in on the meeting that you'll be going to with Morgan to make adequate plans for the funeral.Armbrust offers that he should go as he has some possibly new information to bring to the table, and you pick out Schwere as her analytical mind could definitely prove useful in the planning stage..Denis shows you the way around the nightly patrols on the way to the church. Ducking and weaving away from lantern lights. Schwere sticks close to you and Denis the entire time, keeping up exceedingly well. Andrea still requires some guidance here and there, however she follows well all the same.Upon arrival, you notice something... "off " about the church. As though the place is "off limits" or that you'd feel an aversion to entry...Fighting off that strange feeling, you knock at the door, only for it to be quickly opened by the Priest, James, whom looks at you with fear and then suddenly a brilliant smile," So good of you to come Jacob! We have a nightly service just for you and your.. oh.. hmm.. family, right? Come in, come in." He ushers the three of you inside, and there you see Morgan flipping through a book by the altar, and a man in sitting among the pews, seeming to pray.. Only you notice that his hair and skin hold the same color as Morgan's own Noah form... you haven't met this one yet... Morgan looks up from her book, regarding you and your family in something of a greeting.James leans in beside you," Have no fear of raising your voice here. Humans are made to stay away and the church has been soundproofed. The doors are also sealed now unless opened from the inside. Well, let us see if we can't improve upon the Lord's funeral, shall we?"The lot of you sit among the pews. Akuma to the right, Noah to the left. Priest James at the podium.
Drawbro returns from work. Any suggestions for art?
"Now then! As we are all assembled here, We have a funeral to plan! Many funerals at that!So far as we have shared..The guard will not be directly attending the funeral, It is open to the townspeople. I myself will unfortunately not have a direct hand in it as someone higher up in the church than myself will be taking care of the proceedings... Ah.. to my knowledge it will be a Cardinal of the Black Order.. Which does indeed bode troubling!"You not that the man's enthusiasm for this sort of thing is impressive, if not fanatic..."It will take place along the lakeside... Say, have I missed anything else?"Armbrust raises his hand, is waved up and stands," I am Denis, A guardsman under the town's guard. A member of Faefnir's family. I have found that the Crimson will be the primary guards for the funeral.. and that they will be escorting the lord around the Lake for his lordship's attendance."Denis sits back down and James thanks him for the tidbit," Ah, with this is seems that we could indeed attack earlier than the proceedings. of the funeral..Morgan raises her hand and rises," I'll be ready to deal with the Cardinal's innocence should the need arise, along with Maashima.. We'll have Lisa and Jacqueline patrol the frozen waters of the lake to search for an opportunity.. If not during the escort, then upon the docks for the ceremony. I, myself will blend in among the townsfolk.. Maaashima will do the same.""I can speak for myself," A sad voice whispers out from the Noah as he rises in turn," We will be the knife in the back that they least expect to send them to their early demise... We have no fears of that." He looks to Morgan and onxe more sits, assuming the pose of prayer.>Anything yoi'd like to add or suggest?
>>26205169When exactly will people be eating? I assume it would be after the funeral. Also, we should ask Schwere what her special power is. I'm more than certain it could be useful
>>26205169Bring up the idea of using Jacqueline's poison inside bread and drink, the priest can "bless" the water/wine. Using that to make them sluggish or unconscious to give us an edge in taking the Mages alive for Morgan.Ask Morgan and Maashima about their powers so we can better plan with them in mind. Inform them that we'll store up enough loafs of bread for everyone to eat before it starts. Buffs are useful. If we can draw up a rough map of the area do so and use that to plan placement of people so they're near the right places. See if Schwere has any ideas to add.
>>26205169AND I JUST GOT THE BEST IDEA.Have Armburst get a bit of Javquelines venom so he can coat his arrows in them. With that, he can hopefully take out the crimson mages without killing them.
>>26205169Ask about any spells Morgan and her Skulls can prepare. How large are the docks? Would it be possible to collapse it, so as to drop everyone standing on it into the water? When will the people eat? Before, during. or after the ceremony? What time will the funeral be held?We must be careful that the Crimson Cross and the Exorcists have not already made preparations against attacks from the water. The Cardinal may have noticed the amount of disappearances on the lake. Have the Skulls sweep the area for any signs of magic and, if possible, twist it all to our end.
Before the funeral, we should go into the woods and make plenty of ash, and make a full loaf of each bread type for the family, the nuns, and the Noah (Assuming it works on them)
>>26205169How long does the Skullification process take? Can Skulls Skullify other Mages?I'm trying to ask if turning the mages into Skulls midbattle would be a viable tactic.
>>26205313I like this idea.>>26205326To add to this: barrier spells are available to us, correct? How about those explosive talismans? These may be the sorts of traps that have been set up. Is there any way to detect them? Can we set up our own?
>>26205338It should. It says "Dark Matter-Empowered Beings" or "Dark Matter Beings" on the Breads, that would include Noah.
>>26205354Also, what kind of magic can Morgan do? Is sympathetic magic available to her? If she could somehow channel the effects of our bread mid-battle, that would be a good boon....Really wish we knew more about how magic works in this setting. Now may be the time to ask about it.>>26205169Also, shall we get this thread archived now?
Say Duke, if we gorged ourselves on Regen Baguettes before a fight, would we have a passive heal for the duration of the battle? Or would there be annoying side effects?
>>26205338I already asked about this; the Duke said everyone in our family is already stocked up on it.We may not want to consume the buffs before the battle begins, however; we could save them for when we need them.
I'd like to say that we haven't spent any time with either of the kids in a while, maybe we should go on a hunt with them tonight if there is time and chat. Also I need,>L2 forms for both>General description of their fighting style IE speedy and dodging, tanky, etc>Any personality quirks that may have formed that we could easily notice>ideas for special abilities
>>26205521Kralle's claws are growing out, she's got insect wings, and her frame is pretty light.>Kralle has gained an incredibly light and quick frame with the beginning of Insect-like wings upon the back, and her claws have sharpened into viscous talons.May as well make her some kind of insect.Wendel's got a horn with rings around it. I suggested a Kirin (or Kilin, if you prefer) a while back; think of it as a unicorn, but with shaggy fur all over its body.>http://www.allaboutunicorns.com/ancient-history.phpThere's a picture of one here. From looking at it, it looks a bit draconic. It'd be interesting if, because of our influence, all our family members got slightly reptilian features because of us.
>>26205602I mean, Klaire is a weasel-shark thing, but I don't think it would be much of a stretch to say that her slightly elongated form is due to her body shape mimicking our dragon body a little.I don't know. It just seems like a cool idea. Also, all this speaking about our family reminds me that the pastebin for our group has not been updated to take note of Klaire's level 2 form, Kralle and Wendel's level 1.5, and our new additions.
>>26205521For Kralle, some sort of praying mantis type with a couple pairs of wings. Very light and speedy, and sharp. She's absolutely batshit insane, absurdly excitable. Girl has ADHD like a motherfucker. For special abilities, she'll already have absurd amounts of speed and sharpness, I think something that lets her make more of her or something that lets her phase through things would be interesting.I kind of what to introduce her and Alice to each other just to see what would happen.
>>26205602For Wendel I was considering a head, torso, arms, and legs connected by storm clouds and lightening forming the rest of the body, his ability could be to passively be intangible in the non-solid parts of his body, and the active would be moving the "storm" of his body independently of his body to make different forms or to scout ahead as a sentient cloud. Also, dragonlike head because reasons.
>>26205693Reasons are perfectly acceptable. And stormclouds are always cool.
>>26205693That's a pretty cool idea, actually.
>>26205326>Ask about any spells Morgan and her Skulls can prepare."We'd need a proper talisman or focus to prepare a spell in advance. Any other spells of ours will need to be performed on the spot.>How large are the docks? Would it be possible to collapse it, so as to drop everyone standing on it into the water?General knowledge. The docks are rather large, yet not big enough for everyone to stand upon.>When will the people eat? Before, during. or after the ceremony?James," Late Morning, before noon. the ceremony will take place.. Likely they will be eating after".>What time will the funeral be held?Above>We must be careful that the Crimson Cross and the Exorcists have not already made preparations against attacks from the water. The Cardinal may have noticed the amount of disappearances on the lake. Have the Skulls sweep the area for any signs of magic and, if possible, twist it all to our end.Maashima," In all likelihood, they have. it's something that we expect.. We need only beat them at their own plan...>>26205395Diminishing returns.>>26205381Morgan," My magical talents are mostly of the offensiove sort when it comes to such things.. Sympathy is more Mashima's area of expertise.. As for Magic, it works with Radiant mana that's infused into the very air. It's rare for humans to control it freely, and this is more our domain save for the Church using objects suffused with the mystic power.Mana can be used to alter the status of pre-existing conditions, tempor materials, heal, and so on. Magic that dwells in the realm of the mind and ether tend to be governed more closely by Dark Energy given off by dark matter and its opposite, Innocence.Among those two forces, Mana could be considered the neutral force.
>>26205346Morgan,"That is something I have already considered. THey can indeed begin the process, however they require proper treatment by a knowledgeable Noah to complete their form lest they crumble into a pillar of salt, or dust rather. It taks time to treat them, not something that can or should be done in open war.
>>26205663For Kralle... Hmm.. I'd think a short range dimension door could be appropriate? She phases between realities temporarily, even if just for a moment at times. It would fit my own idea for her L3 as a "Claw Fairy">>26205693Something less abstract and perhaps a touch sillier... Hmm.. I like it. To be honest, I had planned for him to have something concerning Clouds and a sake gourd by L3... Though you'd all have to have been to japan before then.>>26205622Apologies for my lack of update, it simply slipped my mind, along with everything else... I intended to update it after the funeral.
>>26205874So yes, we need to get Armburst some of Jacqueline's venom so that he can coat his arrows in them and then use them to get the mages out of the way.Meanwhile, we can team up with Schwere and together make the rest of the Crimson's armor and weapons very heavy and hot
>>26205874Does anyone here know anything more about the Exorcist other than him having a sword and being a Cardinal? We're going to want to drop the docks into the water, between Jacqueline and Lisa in the water, and Edward making it absurdly cold nobody who calls into the water is going to be able to do much. If Morgan and the Skulls can whip up some talismans or foci beforehand it'll be useful as we can set those up beforehand and utterly wreck the docks. Schwere will weight down all the armored fellows, and if my guess is right she has control over magnetism or metals or something like that, which will utterly fuck up most of their fighters, and once they're a ball of stuck together knights we just heat it up until they bake.Armbrust does need some of Jacqueline's venom for the opening strike on the mages. They won't be eating before the funeral, but there may be ceremonial wine, they may drink water or wine to keep hydrated, we can have James poison those with Akuma Virus or Jacqueline's Venom.
>>26205929James," This is indeed a plan to go in the hat! Any objections? Any objections at all? Very well! This is now apart of the capture portion of our plans! The rest of the Crimson will be so hindered that they won't possibly be able to fight!" The Priest laughs maniacly like some sort of mad villain, much to your amusement, yet no one else seems inherently amused..."Next order, will we be ambushing them during the transport? This is an important one as doing so may alert the rest of them, however it'll be the ideal time to secure the lord!>Ambush on the lakeside>Get them all on the docks>>26205963This certainly seems well thought out! Nothing I can see wrong with this! Any objections?
>>26205963Can Schwere make people levitate yet? If so, kill enemies by lifting them all up and just dropping them. Maybe open the battle with that, have her lift everyone at once if she's strong enough and let Armbust fire at them when they can't dodge.>Schwere L5 ability->Permenantly reverse the effect of Gravity on a target completely, making them repel from the Earth and eventually leave orbit, forcing them into the Void
>>26205998How much guard is expected on the transport?
>>26205998You say nothing can go wrong. But I think you mean something can go very wrong. But no objections, get them all at the docks
Would it be possible to snag a few individuals from the procession into alleys or something? Lessen their numbers by a small amount before the battle? Seems unlikely that we could pull it off.
>>26205998I'm worried that the taste of Akuma Blood Poison might be overly noticeable. How does blood poison taste? Does Jacqueline's taste different?
>>26206025> Schwere speaks directly to you..."My magic is gravity.. It's been improved a great deal since reaching L2.. My special ability.. Well.. It makes use of that... Though I haven't found much use... It pulls things from around the area into a sphere.. I can control the size, and the pull... But I can't seem to pull people with it yet..">>26206031Armbrust informs you that the detail is something that the guard's been left in the dark about... in all likelihood it could be a trap, or it could be the most opportune time to take the lord and a part of their contingent.>>26206053>Morgan Akuma Blood Poison tastes like death. Jacqueline's venom however? Well, she needs so little that it'd hardly be noticeable... however the effects take hold quickly. Not everyone would have their drink after seeing the first set of people go to the ground.
>>26206103A funeral might have a toast or a special time when everyone takes a drink. It's not uncommon in religious stuff.James would know if there was an event like that, if there is that's our opportunity to hit as many as possible.
>>26206103>"My magic is gravity.. It's been improved a great deal since reaching L2.. My special ability.. Well.. It makes use of that... Though I haven't found much use... It pulls things from around the area into a sphere.. I can control the size, and the pull... But I can't seem to pull people with it yet.."Explosive talismans.Lots and lots of explosive talismans.
Well, I must turn in for the night. Have fun with the rest of the planning session
>WIZARD POSE!I figure have Wendel move like a cloud with metal pieces suspended in it rather than a single entity, with the arms, head, and legs existing for enhancing spell casting and the core being the only part really essential to his health. So twisting limbs, unnatural poses, and rotating body parts, etc.
>>26206103Okay, can't pull people, and I'm guessing by extension she can't pull people's armor instead.Have her pull dock from around her, leave gaping holes so the dock falls apart around her. Also after compressing a sphere of stuff can she make it explode or throw it at someone.I'm extremely wary of the transport, it feels like the trappiest trap ever. If we can send someone to recon it and come back quickly it might be worth setting up and ambush on the offchance that they were stupid enough not to make it a trap.
>>26206136>MorganWe could get to work on making them... Harlequin and I will get the two other skulls and make as many as possible, however the idea is to capture the mages... Faefnir.. Unless you plan to doom the rest of them with force akin to that of a bloody siege..>>26206122>James"I'll try with all my heart to bless the wine for my dear brothers and sisters in this fight against god, however it would be the Cardinal or the lord to call a toast.. and it would need to happen early, before anyone else takes a drink.Oh, and to my knowledge, the Cardinal's Name is Ser Arthur of the Holy Round.. If I recall correctly, he's known for wielding the Holy Blade, Excalibur.. Stories among the order tell that it embodies the blades from several legends..."
>>26206186Poses make my think of Jojo's bizarre adventure... I-I may throw in some eccentric poses for the young Wendel.I also like the overall concept.. just needs one of the L2 faces that only the second-time deceased can know peace from... Which begs the question... If two poeople call a soul back at two separate times after an Akumas has been purified and sent to God... would that soul be available for Akumafication a second time? That would simply be the worst luck...
>>26206315>I-I may throw in some eccentric poses for the young Wendel.well he is the lovable drunkard of the group
>>26206315A creepy face eh? I'll see what I can do.
>>26206258Capturing the Crimson Mages is a definite priority, that's why we're hitting them with poison arrows, and hopefully poison drinks, so we can drag them off. But having those in place means we can get the mages, capture them, get as many people on the docks as possible, and then collapse the docks into the water, it'd make it easy to eliminate a lot of opposition. For the toast, I can't think of any clever ways to make someone call for a toast. I wouldn't be surprised if there was one, but I can't guarantee it. In absence of a stroke of luck where Arthur calls for a toast to celebrate this town's hospitality or something like that what should be done with the poisoned drink is have a lot of cups poured beforehand and delivering them to the important people first.
>>26206346he might make this canonjesus_christ_how_horrifying.jpeg
>>26206429I think I may have turned up the creepy to L4 levels by accident...

>>26206540...And turned up the Jojo levels too. Hm.
>>26206540>Level 4 Wendel

>>26206994Well I figured have the metal body parts equal that of a small teenager or a large child, just because his disguise is that of a child, doesn't mean he is. His soul is an adult, after all. His storm body can be just about any size.I was going to suggest his face be still, but have him able to drink and eat anyway simply by cramming it into his face humorously. Where does the food go? who knows. Also, body is copper/brass color.
