Your Codename is Delta Phoenix. You received a transmission from Korhal. "The Emperor is Dead. Long live the Emperor. "It seems like a lifetime since the fall of Korhal disabled your neural inhibitor and you went rogue. With the help of a rogue Dominion Marine, Jacob Henderson, you and your small crew secured a Gorgon-Class battlecruiser you now call The Daluke. The Dominion, bounty hunters, and criminal scum alike are all after you with a massive 1.5 billion credit bounty on your head. But they're going to have to earn it, first.Adjutant A.I. online. Good Morning, Delta Phoenix.Governor Lakas' family and Quanah remain in our Brig, Commander. Mrs. Lakas is requesting your presence. The XO has put forward several candidates for management of your Murric installations. You have no other pressing matters at this time.
>>26154893Ok, let's go talk to the lady

You should rename this as le epic reference quest
>>26154893>>26154926I'm gonna vote for Alton C simply because he's a foreman and I doubt we'll have many attacks on our base here at MurricAlso we should talk to the late Mrs Lakas soon too
Also yay! Glad to be here in time
>>26154973yeah, well, try and keep them in line. I'm gonna be leaving soon, but I'll be back later on
>>26154991I am but one person, but I'll try I suppose
Been a while, have we fucked Colin Phash yet?
>>26155010we won't be meeting any canon characters
>>26155017Excuse me while I overdose on vespene gas.
You head for the brig as you consider the base commander options. Lakas' family, the woman and two daughters who's names you haven't bothered to learn, are still your captives. Given the woman's earlier response it was very clear she knew who you were and what you did. Knocking her unconscious probably didn't win you any favors. The on duty guards salute you, before you dismiss them. You press the console between yourself and the cell, and the one-way cell mirror becomes a window. The woman steps up to it, her glare showing you no kindness, as she asks.>"Why are you holding us prisoner?"
>>26155043((That feel when you post at the exact same time as some weeaboo and your pictures get switched.))
>>26155043"It was necessary, the compound was under siege and you wouldn't cooperate. I apologize for that. Besides, you're alive, aren't you? And so are your girls.
>>26155043We're currently deciding what to do with you.
>>26155043You'd be dead if I wasn't.
>>26155043"I promised Lakas I would take you to safety. Pick a destination and I'll drop you off."
>>26155063(My sides went everywhere Adjutant. Especially from the name.)
>"I'm not going to pretend I understand whatever sick game you're playing, or whatever deal my husband made that got him killed. You just drop me off on the nearest planet and stay away from me and my girls."
>>26155075Second. Two can play the bitch game.Aside from that, does anyone have a problem with just dumping these guys on Murric? We promised to save them, we have, obligation over.
>>26155138Murric it is
>>26155138Very well, I'll arrange for you to be dropped off on Murric. Good day Miss Luvac
>>26155138"It doesn't appear you have any lost love for your husband...am I wrong?"
>>26155161err Lakas, no idea how I managed to pull that off.
>>26155138"If that is your wish. Consider his last request fulfilled then. Be thankful his last words were for your safety, as I doubt the Siege Tanks would have been as kind...
>>26155166>"Doesn't appear to be any of your goddamn business."You leave the woman and arrange for a team to drop her them planetside. You look back to your HUD at the available candidates. You'll need to appoint one before you leave the base if you expect operations to continue. >1 Theresa D. House>2 Kevin E. Lester>3 Alton C. PalmerVote ends in 4 minutes.
>>26154937Second Palmer if this hasn't already been decided. Maybe train Theresa up as a marine so she can oversee ground operations and minimise our tendency to take stupid actions.
>>26155206>3Theresa to be trained as a Marine Officer.
>>26155208When we get siege tanks, she could command one?
>>26155206After this contact the President of Murric. We need more land for our starports, and we should probably tell her that Murric should send a delegation to both of the other 'free' fringe worlds to help organise themselves against both the Dominion and Zerg threat.
>>26155208>>26155223She was a deployment officer on the bridge, Commander. Not a field officer.
>>26155266Is her rank Navy or Marine?
>>26155206Why are we only choosing one? Alton for the economic operations, Theresa for any possible ground-based military issues that come our way.
>>26155266Does she have any natural aptitudes for anything we can use in the field? Would the Daluke's bridge benefit?
>>26155282Although this does not apply to Dominion ranking classifications, it would be Naval, Commander.>>26155292Her record indicates that she will prioritize the production of ground forces at any base she is assigned to. Tangible benefits on the Daluke are minimal, as she is one of several ground force coordinators on the bridge currently.
>>26155312Yeah, she's definitely staying onboard. Shall we make her Captain of the ship?
>>26155330That is your current position, Commander. In your absence the XO is captain. His qualifications far exceed anyone else onboard currently.
>>26155266Oh, right. Disregard that order than Adjutant. Trawl through our personnel files for anyone suited to the position I previously mentioned. Also, promote Henderson to Sgt Major while we're playing around with ranks.
>>26155346Ok, forget what I said.
>>26155312Let's not move her for the time being, then. Until we have a base in a contested area where her expertise is needed.Any news from New Albuquerque? How did the rebellion go? Anything new on the zerg?
>>26155346ok, let's wait until we get some other vessel, like a Minotaur. Then we could probably put he in charge
>>26155363Henderson's current rank under my programming is First Sergeant, Commander. I have proceeded with the promotion at your request. The position already exists, Commander. Ground force intel is supplied by the bridge of the Daluke or Hercules as available. Ground based intel is usually managed by squad leaders.
>>26155424Excellent, that'll give the man something to brag about. Update all other ranks accordingly. As for the GroundOps position, sounds like everything is working there. Onto politics then?
>>26155479Promotions are currently automated, Commander.
Palmer has been deployed to Murric and appointed as base Commander.I am contacting the President now, Commander. Please hold.>...>"Well if it ain't my favorite Battlecruiser. What can I do you for?">"I need more space. I've managed to acquire a few schematics, specifically for starports and wraiths. I don't suppose you'd be able to do any sort of trade?">"Oh Darlin'. The Murrican constitution doesn't allow the government to own land, much less hand it out to foreign powers. That said, I will gladly trade you a prime base location for everythin' you got.">"One more thing. Kilaro and New Albuquerque are both undergoing rebellions. Governments will be forming soon I expect. Your planet provides for them, and as you're the only stable planet in this region I was wondering if there's anything you can do to stabilize them at the moment.">"I would just not be the best President I could be if I wasn't already on top of it. We've been tryin' to sort out Kilaro an' New Al-bee-qwer-qee since before you popped up. If it weren't for those corporate scumbags at Tarento we'd've had it done months ago."
>>26155567"On top of it" meaning? What exactly is being done? Are you aware of the zerg attacks? We can use the broodmother's threat to push for a regional alliance of worlds, with a coordinated military and mutual defense pacts."
>>26155567Awesome, looks like our friendly neighborhood President has things under control... Tell her we're glad she is on top of things.
>>26155567"Corporate scumbags?"I'm not happy with that trade deal as a side-note. If she wants to throw a mining site and a wraith production contract our way though... I mean, they are stealth-capable after all.
Thank the woman for her time. As for more land, Adjutant has any more become available for purchase since the last time we looked?
>>26155661>"Whoa, whoa whoa. You say broodmother? We don't have any Zerg over here yet. Closest hive is Jestos and they've been fighting eachother since the overmind done got himself killed. You send me what you got right now an' we'll take a look at it. In the meantime, 'on top of it' is a very technical political term for 'if I told you I'd have to kill you.' I shouldn't need to explain these things to a ghost, y'hear me?"
>>26155567>Corporate scumbagstell me more like there competition.... and hedquarters...
>>26155729"Of course Mrs President"Let's send her what we know, maybe work out a co-attack on the Broodmother once Murric's defenses are back online.
>>26155729In the spirit of mutual cooperation I think it would be beneficial if we played with the cards on the table. NA will need help to defend themselves against the zerg, if that world falls Murica could follow. If you're doing anything that could destabilize the situation there, I need to know. I'll show you my data, if you show me yours, Ms President.
>>26155726>"Darlin' I ain't givin' you a base without minin' rights, I ain't a criminal. And you know that for just schematics it's a darn sight better than you'll get somewhere else. As for Tarento - System of government is Corporate nationalism. Now I like Capitalism as much as the next Murrican but I think that goes too far."Mapping new base location, Commander.9 Mineral nodes and 2 geysers available. Room is sufficient for all current buildings plus additional buildings for both production and supply.Recommendation: Allow base commander to focus on new territory and continue operations.
>>26155764Second.We give these guys a lot for free. We may be nice to them, but that has very hard limits. We are providing them with a defensive BC after all.
>>26155776I think we'll take that recommendation.
>>26155776Let's do just that Adjutant.Let's see what they can do.
>>26155751Commander, an attack is not possible at this time as we have zero intelligence on the Broodmother. >>26155764>"I ain't giving you specifics, missy, but a few New Albuquerque politicos may or may not be on a few Murric payrolls, not that such a thing would be strictly speakin' legal by Murric law, so probably not, but if such a thing were to happen, you might see how that sort of thing favors political stability between the two planets.">"Now ya'll are sure yer a ghost? Ya didn't steal that suit offa nobody?"
>>26155776>Recommendation: Allow base commander to focus on new territory and continue operations.Agreed. No more spending an entire thread training 10 marines. Now, what's next on the agenda?
>>26155776>Corporate nationalism I like...Let the base commander focus on construct. Tell him we want a strong airforce sooner rather than later. What is the Daluke's full possible compliment of wraiths?
>>26155820... give her the information.
>>26155837With all 6 bays online it is possible to house 90 Wraiths or Tactical fighters, commander.Note that this deployment would not allow for any other ships, however.
>>26155820"Stability between your two worlds is a high priority to me Madame President, so I needed to know that you shared that conviction."Sounds like our Free Worlds Coalition is shaping up nicely. Time to visit that Confederate station?
>>26155873i think so.
>>26155837half the bays for wraiths, the other half for our other forces would be good imo.
>"I promise you, it's my suit. Take care, Madam president. Adjutant, load the starmap and prep the Hercules."Starmap loaded.>Volcanic World HA002: Old Zerg hive world. Nuked out years ago during the Brood Wars. Heavy in minerals, vespene gas, and geothermal energy.>Forest World NN014 "New Ares": Small colony in operation, mostly agriculture. Close to heavy shipping lanes. Complete radio silence.>Urban World Kilaro: City planet that is home to a battleground of attempted government forces and criminal organizations. Supplies are in high demand.>Tarento: Urban planet with a corporate-nationalist government and a minor Dominion presence. There is a black market located on an abandoned orbital platform over the planet.>Nohallan: Fringe Ice Planet. Hostile Wildlife and climate. Well outside of Dominion space. Home to viking mercenary base. >Barren World JZ01919: No atmosphere, high in inorganic salts and rare compounds. Mining platform station "Dick's Paradise" in orbit.>Murric: Current location. Continental Fringe World. Provides 92% of Agriculture for nearby systems. Fiercely independent anti-Dominion population.>Corendis: Jungle World, known for heavy Safari activity. Low in minerals, high in vespene gas. >New Albuquerque: Fringe Desert Planet. Civilian Shipbuilding industry. Revolution in progress. Low in minerals and vespene gas. >Station 114: Fringe territory observation post. Previously Confederate, now occupied by ex-Confederate mercenaries.Begin achieving consensus, voting will begin when ready.
>>26155861I think half of that number should be sufficient for the time being. Some musings:a) A vision indicated Alpha was operating on New Albuquerque with a Dominion force, looking for us. That means that force is enroute to, or already at, NA. We need to intercept that force, or at least warn the NA defenders.b) do we have anyone on our crew that has connections on the pirate station we're going to visit? Anyone that can provide intel on major figures, groups or politics there?
>>26155937>>Forest World NN014 "New Ares": Small colony in operation, mostly agriculture. Close to heavy shipping lanes. Complete radio silence.>complete radio silenceSince when has this been going on? Are they under attack or just hiding from attention?
>>26155938I can send an FTL notification to planetside forces, commander. Additionally we have no known contacts with station 114.
>>26155960I registered a dip in radio silence as of 4 days ago, Commander. I detect no distress signals at this time.
I think station 113 is still a good idea. Take Mia's squad, with cloaking wraiths if possible as well as 1-2 valkyries. Along with the Hercules with a load of minerals and supples to make it seem we are traders\smugglers
>>26155937>Forest World NN014 "New Ares": Small colony in operation, mostly agriculture. Close to heavy shipping lanes. Complete radio silence.
>>26155960Whoa...that's new. Investigate now! FTL comm the rebel forces first though, tell them to be prepared for a very unlikely but possible Dominion strike force.
>>26155971Can we send a force to investigate? We're going to Station 114 with a small number of bodyguards anyway, so we could spare a contingent for this.
>>26156004We have multiple dropships, commander. Splitting our forces is a tactical possibility.I would recommend appointing an experienced commander to the second away team in your absence.
>>26156004No, this we need to investigate personally. If its nothing we can always just jump away to station 114.
>>26156025Henderson to lead, Charlie to support him.
>>26155961Might be good to check it out. I've got a slight feeling Mrs. Broody's somehow involved in it.
>>26156025Henderson to lead a marine team to Kilaro to help the government against criminal elements and sell supplies.Us with the Ghosts to New Ares with a 3 Wraith escort.
>>26156029agreed, right now we aren't really large enough to field multiple missions into enemy territory. The university was one thing... this is something entirely different.
>>26156056Henderson typically loses his entire team when on missions... I don't think sending him is a good idea.
>>26156056I'd rather not conduct two full-scale operations simultaneously. One small team to 114, one main team to Ares.
>>26156071That's only on suicide missions. This is an easy pacification run, but we can swap Henderson for Whiskey if you want?
>>26156071Voting with Red on this one. Let's not split up gang, we're not gonna scooby doo this shit and lose half our team.
Registering popular options.>1 Single team to Station 114.>2 Single team to New Ares.>3 Phoenix team to 114. Henderson and marines to New Ares.
>>26156120Fair enough. Lets go all out with this away them then. Us, Ghosts, Henderson and a team of marines, an SCV (just because) and a Wraith escort. We are not going to get caught without support again.
>>26156120I don't want to have everyone sit on their asses while Delta and a few other guys go to a station to talk shit with pirates. Ares dropped out of contact 4 days ago, and it should be investigated ASAP because who the fuck knows what's going on there and whether the threat will grow if left alone. Let's trust in the strength of our forces; there's no need for Delta to babysit them constantly, she's not that big a force multiplier.
>>26156161Oh, bring our Zerg/infected Terran expert as well. Delta has a bad feeling about this...
>>26156143>Voting ends at 17:36. Tallying votes.
huh, kinda sparse today
So much for your plans. You need to deploy to New Ares. With a prevalent Zerg threat you can't just ignore an entire colony going dark. The Hercules is loaded with your ghost squad and three marine squads with medic and firebat support, as well as your Zerg specialist. Mia's Banshee is also loaded, and three wraiths for support. Minutes later you stand on the bridge next to Henderson, who chews on his cigar heavily. >"What'cha thinkin' it is boss? We gonna have us a stand up fight or another bughunt?">"Don't know which one I'd rather have, Henderson.">"Ain't that tha' truth.">"All stations standby for jump."The view of Murric is replaced by that of a green and blue sphere much like the one you left. The large polar caps are the only readily visible contrast. >"Status report, Ensign.">"Nothing on sensors, sir. Not even power. The colony's abandoned as far as I can tell."Loading colony layout now, commander.
>>26156287Well it's gonna take time to build up a force anyway, besides we need proper technology to fight the Zerg. our XO said so.
The colony consists of several divisions. There is a primary space port which is connected to the communciations array for FTL comms. There are residential buildings leading up to the Commercial district. Surrounding the exterior of the colony are farmlands and logging operations.Outside of the colony Perimeter wall is the power plant. It's cold fusion and the cells should still be active barring any major damage. There is additionally a barracks of local militia members and a second communications array and sensor network attached to the Barracks.Using the banshee we can only deploy one squad at a time.Tactical recommendation is to keep the Hercules in orbit until a threat can be properly assessed.
>>26156358Load the banshee with Delta Squad, have it do a close sweep of the colony while cloaked. If we can find any colonists, contact them. Otherwise, scan for hostiles. If nothing has been found, drop the ghosts off at the barracks.
Wait, we didn't bring the Nomad?>Henderson, who chews on his cigar heavily.I'm thinking there has never been a mention of him lighting the damn things
>>26156358Keep Hercules in orbit then, and take the Banshee with our crew down to the power planet. Let's get the lights back on in this bitch.
>>26156393Banshee can't keep cloak up permanently, wait with cloaking until first contact, but otherwise, I agree.
>>26156393I'd prefer the primary insertion point as the star-port... it would allow us to appropriate any dropships there so we can deploy quicker
>>26156432I don't want us detected on approach.>>26156436I'm sure the starport will require power to open the bay doors or whatever. I'm thinking the barracks is first priority because that's where any survivors of whatever the hell happened here would hole up. Then, the power plant.
You soar over the colony. Nothing on any sensor. As you get close enough to see ground level you don't even see bodies. Just abandoned vehicles. >1 Land at the power plant.>2 Land at the starport.>3 Land at the barracks.
>>26156468We have a dropship dropping us off anyway, if they can detect a banshee uncloaked they'll detect the dropship too...
>>26156517.... I'm pretty sure we are dealing with infected.
>>26156529Oh wait, I just read your original post again, I'm retarded, nvm.
>>26156529The dropship is in orbit, and that's where it will stay while we investigate. You know, so it doesn't get shot down on approach.
>>26156537The Return of Echo...
>>26156537Good thing we got an infestation expert. We should relay our visual feed to him so he can check for signs of infestation in any colonists we encounter even when he's not with us on the ground.
>>26156537Good thing we brought a huge military force, air support and an infection expert ay...
Side Note: Is the Daluke passively recruiting from Murric to fill positions while we're away Adjutant?
>>26156610Recruitment missions are handled by the base commander.
You step off the banshee, followed by Whiskey, Charlie, and November. There's no sign of anything. Mia heads back to the ship to have a second team ready.>"Dale, what do you make of this?">"No creep. It might not be Zerg. The buildings aren't showing signs of any Zerg biomass and nothing on sensors."Your HUD indicates the barracks and large sensor tower in the distance are completely unpowered. Your team makes for the barracks. As you enter the entrance has several auto-turrets in place. It's not standard for fringe worlds to have guns pointed at the door, but you don't see a single bullet hole. You step through the halls, several tables are overturned, a bunk is on it's side, paper and other debris litters the floor.>"Oi, is 'at a boot?"You notice the shoe on the floor. November slowly advances and kicks it.>"It's a boot!"You keep moving, the armor is still stocked. Whatever happened most of the C-14s and CMCs didn't get used. You still have squads available for deployment. Where should you send the next squad?
>>26156646Henderson + marines to power plant. Delta Squad proceeds to the comms array. Check for messages and logs.
>>26156646Henderson and co. to the power plant.
>>26156658Supported>Life byPlannYes captcha, words of wisdom indeed.
>>26156646Second squad are to secure the space port. If there are ships still docked, then we might have some new toys... maybe something to offer to Murric.....Phoenix Squad secure the secondary comms array. see if anyone tried to send a message...
>>26156646Huh...weird...usually this stuff stinks of Zerg. Now I'm really curious...Make a note to loot the guns and suits once this place is checked out, Adjutant...I doubt the people that were here are still hanging around.
>>26156696Maybe Dominion PsiOps? It could account for the lack of a fire fight...an entire colony mind controlled or some such?
>>26156734I dunno about mindcontrol, but PsyOps I could see...whatever killed them did it fast and silent.
>>26156734I have my doubts, but if that was the case then why?Still, you are coming up with more ideas than I have, I have fuck all.
>"Hercules 1, this is Phoenix team. Dispatch Hercules 2 to Powerplant, over.">"Roger, Commander. En route."You and your team step out into the street. it's several blocks away to the Comm relay and starport, giving Henderson and his team plenty of time to power up the powerplant. As you walk down the streets you notice... nothing. Things seem to be left exactly where they were. Car doors are open, not even a stray animal runs past. That's why your entire team stops dead when you hear any noise. Open widows shuttering. Creaky signs. But nothing solid. >"Henderson here, Boss. We've got hardhats on the floor, some abandoned tools, not a body in sight though. We're powerin' up now."You make it to the Starport's front door. Without power it won't open. You can't do anything but wait in the howling wind. Minutes later the lights at the far end of the street turn on. Then closer ones, then the next ones, until it eventually reaches you.
>>26156811The door opens on it's own. You move in with your team, and you hear movement.>"Don't move!"Several CMC marines step out of the shadows of the starport, weapons trained on you. They're not Dominion and they're poorly armed so you have to assume they're local militia. >"Who are you, what are you doing here, and did you turn the power on?"
>>26156811"I am Delta Phoenix, independent contractor. We came to investigate why your colony dropped out of contact. And yes."
>>26156836>We came to investigate why the colony went silent. Explain what's going onAnd tell Henderson to cut the power NOW
>>26156870He doesn't need to cut the power yet, but have him stand by to cut if we have to. Also, have him set his men on full alert and ready to repel whateverthefuck. Also, any of these guys look infested?
Something is playing with warp-ins>power is back onBy now, I hope it is GladOS. The alternatives are serious.
>>26156857>"Delta Phoenix, the independent contractor. Think we're too stupid to not know Dominion ghosts when we see them? Just because we're on the fringes... Doesn't matter. We need off this planet. Now, or we're all dead."
>>26156811"We did, we noticed the colony's gone dark for a while...what happened?"
>>26156909"We're not Dominion anymore, but that can wait. We'll provide you transport, but tell me what happened here soldier."
>>26156909>We're rogue. Now explain what the hell is going on.Have the Hercules ready to come down and dock with the starport
>>26156909"We have a Herc in orbit that can come down and evac you, as soon as you tell me what the hell happened down here and how many of you there are."November, take control of any automated turrets the colony has.
>>26156934and we should have the banshee pick up Henderson and his team
>>26156909We really need to get a new fucking suit. Something that doesn't scream Dominion all over. Something friendlier, more approacheable. Sleeveless, maybe.
>>26156955>"Oh, aye, because I didn't already do that, I've just been sittin' on me thumbs thinkin' about yer boobies. I swear sometimes I feel under appreciated." >>26156934>"We... don't know. We think it's Protoss. It's fast. It started a while back, random people just... disappearing. Then more, and more. Eventually it was just the 12 of us, holed up in this starport."You're about to ask the man for details when you receive a transmission.>"Uhhhh, Boss. I got movement."You sense it all at once. A powerful presence. It was hiding from you somehow.
>>26157015Seriously considering guns free here. Well considering it wiped a colony I guess it's not friendly. Shoot it to bits!
>>26156972Or we could paint it purple and have our comm display our decal when necessary.
>>26157015FUCKING DTS MANLet's book it. Now man. NOW
>>26157015... do we have anything that can detect cloaked units? At all?
>>26157059When we see it that is.Actually, try mind-talking to it if it's protoss. We can do that right?
>>26157071We have no sensors available, Commander.
>>26157015Henderson, extract with your squad via Banshee and get to our position.Information on the presense. What does it feel like? Anything familiar from our visions?
>>26157079You can attempt to communicate psionically with the presence you feel.
>>26157015I have a feeling it might be an Hybrid
>>26157092might as well. But first lets start evaccing everyone.
>>26157071>>26157080Our optics got upgraded, WE can see stealth units.
>>26157092>>26157089Let's do both as we haul ass then.
>>26157089It's sentient. It's smart. It's old. And it's hunting Terrans. You cannot determine much else at this moment.
>>26157092Alright, let's do it.
>>26157105"Who are you and what do you want?"
>>26157105let's not talk to it and gtfo
>>26157105Talking to it could distract it long enough for Henderson to get the hell out. Let's try a conversation.
>>26157130>"Mercy is not a virtue that can be afforded in this situation, Terran. I am truly sorry. Lay down arms. Embrace the inevitable."So much for that. Plan B.>"Henderson, pull out to the Banshee, now! This is Phoenix actual to Hercules actual. Initiate full recall. Land everything. We need off this planet. All units confirm weapons hot on any hostile targets."
>>26157199Is there a dropship or anything flyworthy in the spaceport? Get on it, take the survivors from the colony and get the fuck out.
>>26157199Try talking again while watching for movement.>Look, I just got here. Why are you doing this?
>>26157199Damn, sounds like a Terran hater...there are a few of those among Protoss, but they're usually Tal'darim...this one makes me curious.Too bad Protoss are so OP, otherwise I'd suggest a psychic showdown.
>>26157199What are you talking about? Why are you hunting these people?
>>26157237You turn to the surviving marines.>"Do you have anything that flies?">"Why in god's name would we still be here if we did?"Some day you'll go a whole hour without asking a silly question.>>26157247You try to plead with the Protoss. You get no response.
>>26157286How the hell did they get here, then? Did other colonists escape? Oh goddamn it.
>>26157320other colonists are dead jim.
>>26157286Let's get these people moving, take note of how many of them there are, and get ready to lift outta here. I would suggest opening fire on the power plant, but that may end...badly. Henderson is turning it off before he evacs right?
>"It's here! Lock and load, ladies! Show him what happens when you mess with Marines!">"Contact twenty degrees left! Adjust, Adjust!">"Valero watch your fuckin' fire you fuckin' fuck!">"He's too quick! Nothing's hitting him! That fuckin' shield, man!" >"Where's Henderson!? Where the fuck is Henderson!? Game over, man! Game over!"The loud roar of the Hercules' engines greets you over the Radio chatter. The survivors and marines are the first onboard.>"Mia, give me good news.">"Wish I could, sir. We've got several men missing. Jacob and 2 other marines. Don't tell me we're bugging out, sir."
>>26157320pretty sure the toss would land in the wild not the space port
>>26157350fuck I want to bug out but we can't let this stand
>>26157350Evacuate the colonists on the Banshee. Delta Squad goes after Henderson. Leave no man behind.
>>26157350Sounds like we're going on a rescue mission. Get everyone else outta here and activate stealth systems. We're going in.
... lets go hunting.
>>26157350We have psi-sense. We should be able to aim any special round we are carrying.
>>26157378Tactical notice processor overloading, commander.A banshee is too small for the colonists. The Hercules is a far more valuable military asset and cannot be replaced. The colonists are already aboard the Hercules. The Hercules is our only available FTL ship.Recommendation: Delta Squad pursues in the faster Banshee that is also capable of air support.
>>26157410make it so
>>26157410Oh, the Herc has landed already? Why didn't you inform me? Right, follow recommendation.
>>26157429Please review: >>26157350>The loud roar of the Hercules' engines greets you over the Radio chatter. The survivors and marines are the first onboard.
>>26157429Err, you might want to re-read
>>26157444Oh, sorry about that. Facepalm protocol initiated.
The Banshee docks in atmo with the Hercules. The marines unload, and you board the Banshee. Mia poses the question to you.>"How do we expect to find them, sir?">"I can sense it. Take off towards the colony. I'll navigate.">"Yessir." The Banshee screams towards the town. You direct her north, then east. Over the treeline you see a floating... net. Thing. It radiates power to you. Some sort of protoss structure you imagine. >"Swing us over. If we can blow him up from the sky I'm going to do that."You have no such luck, and the banshee's not equipped to deal with this floating ship. You take the ship down into the forest and step out. The soft chirp of birds is all you can hear as your team makes for the Protoss' ship.
>>26157533>MothershipWe're so screwed.
Are the Protoss playing predator?
>>26157533We have 3 wraiths. Tactical analysis on the likelihood of them being able to take out the mothership? Or doing any significant kind of damage to it?
>>26157533>Mothership>FilenameOh lord what did we get ourselves into
>>26157533>Dat file nameWhy do I feel like this is basically a "Henderson's gone, get over it" messageRight, let's just get our men and get outta here as quickly as we can.
>>26157578Dude, just no.Just...just no.
>>26157596ya this is just a in and out no pitstops for loot
>>26157578>3 Wraith>Scratching the paintjob of a MothershipThat's cute.
>>26157605Adjutant had Mia consider taking that thing on with ONE BANSHEE. I'm asking for Adjutant's assessment on a slightly more realistic attack.
>>26157578Loading relevant file, Commander.Tactical Analysis favors unidentified Protoss shields at 92% of total following the engagement.
>>26157625Mia wants fucking Henderson back bad.Yes, I'm sure 3 measly fighters can take on the most powerful warship ever to be seen in the Korpulu sector.
>>26157633...do our lockdown rounds work on its shields?
>>26157633the ONLY chance we would have would be to get on board that sucker and disable it from the inside... And I see no way to do that since we'd have to get someont to teleport us aboard.
>>26157647Way too big son.Lore Motherships glassed planets in a matter of days. It'd be like we were throwing peas at it.
As you step out, Mia steps out with you, carrying a personal C-14 variant, as she has no CMC.>"What're you up to, Captain?">"Not sitting this one out, sir. Don't try and stop me."As much as you don't want to risk your pilot, the truth is that everyone there is able to pilot a Banshee. You can sense she won't take no as an answer and don't press the issue. You pass through the winding wilderness. You sense the Protoss ahead, and move forward slowly, the leaves and debris crunching under your feet. You hear movement and your squad stops. You look around in front of you. Nothing on sensors...>"Oy, uh, Delta. We lost Charlie."You turn around and you're a squad member short. How!? He's in front of you! You hear the voice again.>"It is inevitable, Terran. I promise you that you will not feel a thing. Lay down your weapons and submit to what must happen here."Like hell. You're almost to the base of the structure. It grows increasingly dark as the massive ship blots out the sun. You see the clearing, bathed in blue light. Whiskey swaps out to his shotguns. Mia makes a vaguely religious gesture across her chest. November simply shakes his head and mutters a series of curses. It's not too late to abort the mission, Commander.
>>26157666Hey, gamewise a ghost can disable a battlecruiser almost half that size. Or a Protoss carrier. I want to hear what Adjutant has to say.
>>26157661You mean the thing that's chock-full of fucking PROTOSS TEMPLAR right? And teleport? Seriously?
>>26157684This ain't game mechanics son.
>>26157674>You see the clearing, bathed in blue light.Tell me its not the purifier/planetcracker
>>26157674aw goddamnit. lets continue
>>26157710Energy readings are nominal and consistent with protoss teleportation technology, commander. It is likely that this is simply the main method of transport to the surface.
>>26157674"WHAT must happen here? What are you after, you goddamn dreadlocked piece of psionic shit?"
>>26157674>Not too late to turn around...you're telling us to, aren't you Adjy?Damn it, we can't just leave two of our crew behind like that! It's just not IC.I want to get outta here, but we're not a coward. Yes I'm scared.
Shit, guys, I come back we lost CHARLIE? FUCK!
>>26157674So this is what happens when Adjutant wants to tell us we're not the biggest fish in the pond.Mission Accomplished man, Mission fucking Accomplished.
>>26157674Fuck this, time to cut our losses. We're not winning this, one way or another.
>>26157772The instant we heard DT were hear we were 'evacuate NOW!' Unfortunately then we lost Henderson and knew we were screwed because there was no way we were going to leave him behind.
>>26157674We go in. If we die, we die and the quest will end. If not, we get a shot at saving our people. I'm not leaving Charlie and Henderson behind. Nope.jpg.
>>26157753Tactical recommendation is to retreat, commander. There are no guarantees that your crew is alive. I am only tallying current losses at 150 minerals and one ghost operative. This is within acceptable Dominion parameters.
>>26157803we're not dominion, though, are we?
>>26157816Records indicate that you are correct, Commander.Time is running short, however.>1 You're trained for suicide missions. You've survived worse. Right?>2 No one lives forever. You'll make sure Henderson's at the top of the list of names on the Memorial.
>>26157803>This is within acceptable Dominion parameters.Goddammit Adjutant, you're doing this on purpose aren't you?
>>26157803...I hate you sometimes Adjutant.
>>26157803If the Protoss just wants to kill terrans, he wouldn't take the trouble to teleport them to his ship. There's something else here.Do we have any way of contacting Kassix, psionically or otherwise?
>>26157803There is a voice in the back of my head, I sometimes call it "Reason" and it's telling me to fuck right off this planet. BUT THEY GOT CHARLIE, THIS WILL NOT STAND! I should also not make decisions at 2:30 AM
>>26157852nope, this was asked a while back.
oh fuck, we are going to die
>>26157826Send November and Whiskey back. Mia won't go without Henderson, and we have a promise to keep with Charlie...
>>26157876And it's going to be horrible, but I still voted 1. I will regret this in the morning.
Whiskey, do you still feel like a terror machine?
>>26157876Indeed. Then we get to re-roll.... maybe we could try Dominion...
>>26157876It was fun while it lasted.
>>26157918Or maybe even Confederate Remnants...might be interesting...
>>26157898>>26157908Hey, who knows, they could be just glassing a zerg infestation we don't know about, and they had the thought to save the Terrans first.hahah...ha...
>>26157921hey, space cowboy, could you give me a rundown on what happened while I was gone?
>>26157970Henderson and Charlie has gone dark, we are about to mount a suicide mission against a Protoss Mothership with Mia on the off chance that they are still alive...
>"If anyone wants to go back, now's the time.">"Not a chance, sir.">"Oi, I ain't leavin' charlie behind any more than you are, Delta.">"What about you, Whiskey? Do you still feel like a terror machine?">"I am the Darkness. I am their monster. I am ready to haunt."You take a deep breath. Good to know your crew is equally suicidal. You reach out to the ship for a mind to bring you up.You are met by hundreds.>"Come on then. I'm here. Bring me up."In a tingly flash of blue light you are in the ship. Walls of gold and floors of blue energy. You are alone at the moment. That will not last long. None of them are hiding from you any more.>"Henderson. Charlie. Can you hear me?"Nothing. You project your mind. You map the interior of the ship as quickly as you can. There's a lab with several tanks and containers, some of which are animals, but you can't properly identify them for some reason. There's so much... static... so much noise. You then sense the bridge at the center of the ship. It's just a question of where you want to go first, really.
>>26157970Basically, we talked with the Murrican President, and she said she was on top of things political wise with the new planets in revolt. We set up a second base to mine, and set a leader there to keep things rolling while we were away. When we came to this dark colony, we went down to the surface, saw it was dark, had Henderson turn the power on and we met survivors. Survivors freaked out, Henderson went dark, so we went after him. Then Charlie went dark and we saw a Protoss Mothership...and well...that's how we got here.
>>26158019go to the lab.
>>26158019Gotta get to the bridgeMaybe and just maybe we can talk to the protoss
>>26158019Wow...surprised we managed this.Alright, be fucking careful, everything Protoss practically explodes with psi energy.Let's check out the lab...dunno why they'd take Terrans in such tanks, but it's worth a look. Especially since the Bridge likely has many Protoss onboard.
>>26158019Lab, we have no desire to fight our way through a couple hundred protoss.
Man, I wish we were a broodmother. Then we could infest the SHIT out of this ship.
>>26158079>infest ProtossUmojan please
>>26158079we could eat them, but not infest.
>>26158095>>26158097Ugh. Like that HoTS mission? Infest the lab animals, duh.
You sense them converging on your position. You need to move quickly.>1 Bridge.>2 Medical labs.
>>26158019At the top of our lungs in a redneck accent scream IN THE REAR WITH THE GEAR. Proceed to shoot up the place.
You head for the medical labs. Your only objective is to recover your team and it seems like the most likely place.>"Drop your weapons, Terran. You stand no chance here."You round the corner. A Protoss floats above the ground. Several bolts of psionic energy blast past you, as you take aim. You're slow to take the shot, as you not only lack your psionic reflexes in his presence, but he's actively throwing you off. You miss by shooting wide a few times. Luckily, Whiskey does not need to aim. He shoots the Protoss templar twice as he advances. He pumps the shotguns. The templar tries to stand. Two more shots bring it to the ground. He pumps the shotguns again. For a brief second, you think he's not going to shoot. He does. The kneecaps. He reloads again. A gut shot. The Protoss groans in agony, the yell rips through your mind. Whiskey shoots again. He doesn't say a word. He just reloads. He shoots again. He blows off the Templar's arm at the elbow and seriously damages the other arm's forearm. The Protoss continues to scream in pain. He reloads.>"Whiskey, god damnit!"Mia steps forward and puts the Templar out of it's Misery with two rounds. He vanishes in a flash, whether dead or just teleported you can't say. Whiskey looks to Mia slowly.>"I wasn't done yet.">Loading...
Leave something for us to read next time
>"We need to keep moving. That much noise and they're sure to-"Thud.You turn around. You didn't sense it in all the action. The Templar went straight for November psionically. He didn't stand a chance. His lifeless body falls to the floor. Blood pools around his head. Psionic feedback killed him instantly. It just took his body a few seconds to catch up.>"We have to keep moving!">Loading...
>>26158260Thats some deep shit Whiskey
>>26158301dam it whiskey
>>26158301damn, well we knew this was a suicide mission when we started.
>>26158301Gah...man, this sucks. Had no idea Whiskey hated Protoss so much.
He is using terror tactics, protoss would have heard his cries.
>>26158301Have the EMPs ready.
>>26158422For fuck's sake, for a while in WoL we were THE anti-toss unit.
>>26158422Why didn't we use them as soon as we teleported in!?
>>26158301Wait a secPsi feedback wouldn't be enough to kill a ghost, just badly wound himTHIS IS A HALLUCINATION FIGHT IT
>>26158463((A ghost has 200 energy and only 100 hp. Takes 1 feedback to kill a ghost, but it takes a ghost two snipes to kill a templar.I hate TvP so I know this exactly.))
>>26158463This isn't the game sadly.
>>26158463I have no idea what the fuck you're on about, but make it so adjutant.
You continue down towards the Medical labs, when you reach a junction. There's a sealed door. You place a D-8 charge on it when you sense... a lot of something.Just as you blow the door open, at each other three entrances a large number of zealots can be heard charging at you. You are vastly outnumbered, and with their superior skills you don't stand a chance.Mia steps forward and raises her rifle. The underslung bayonet swings out audibly. >"What's the big idea, Captain?">"You two are the only two who stand a chance in here. I'll hold them as long as I can."Whiskey sets a hand on her shoulder then pushes her back.>"The difference is people care about you, and I can actually kill them. Go with Delta."He raises his weapons in anticipation. The sound of metal and Protoss grunts grows louder.>"I'll catch up.">1 Don't do this, Whiskey.>2 No time for Debate. You need to move. You'll just deal with the zealots when they catch up.
>>26158569Whiskey, I really hope you're alcoholic Liam Neeson
>>26158539>1Did we all forget to listen to our heart?
>>26158630 I thought our heart was with Charlie?
>>26158642I think you mean adjutant. Even if they are a fickle, mean creature. All the others are just close friends and allies.
>>26158539This is one of those missions where we come back with no one isn't it?
Spend all your psi, Whiskey. No feedback shenanigans.
You keep running. The sound of Whiskey's guns echos behind you, slowly replaced by the sounds of close combat, and silence. As you reach the labs you see the holding pens and tanks. Some of them are alien fauna. Some of them are the human colonists. >"They're in Stasis. Start breaking them out.">"How?"You look around the room. There's a console at the center and you have D-8 charges. It'll either kill everyone or free everyone. You figure you've taken worse odds than 50-50.>1 There's go to be a better way.>2 Zeta always says if you couldn't solve it with explosives, you didn't use enough explosives.
You consider your other options carefully. Explosives don't seem like the best bet immediately. You try to break open the stasis chambers, but the crystal is too strong. You look over the console but you can't make sense of it between the Protoss runes and Protoss technology in general. There's no immediate power to disable, and there's no visible seam between the floor and the stasis crystals. The entire system is so seamless you have no way to understanding it. Time runs short, Several Protoss Zealots accompanied by a female Templar enter the room. You recognize the voice. She's the one that's been following your team this whole time.>"It is over, Terran. I am sorry. I do not know if you can understand the necessity of what we do here."You raise your rifle to take careful aim and-
You're on Korhal. You have no weapons. Your helmet is gone.A Dominion firebat stands before you. He raises his flamethrower gauntlets.>1 Cripple him with psionics.>2 Use Psionic reflexes to dodge his attack.
guys, the protoss may be making us hallucinate our teammate as a firebat. We shouldn't go for crippling.
>>26159362Psionic Reflexes here is like the highlighted options in RPGs that only become available once you unlock a certain ability. YOU ALWAYS USE THESE.
You blast the firebat with Psionics. He brings his hands to his own head in pain, engulfing himself in flames. The tanks is about to go critical when-You're in a zerg hive. A roach digs itself out from the ceiling and starts to scuttle towards you. You raise your weapon at it and fire a>1 Hellfire Grenade.>2 EMP.>3 Irradiate Grenade.
Why oh why would you EMP a roach that has no shields or energy?
>>26159801Because we're assuming protoss mind fuckery
>>26159801if its a hallucination?
You fire an EMP grenade at the Roach. It's hardened shell deflects it easily and it charges you down. It's rending talons shred armor, muscle, and bone as it tears you apart. Your last thoughts curse your stupidity for using a nonlethal round on a roach.Slowly the material world comes back to you, but you still carry the scars of your poor decision. You lay in a pool of your own blood on the floor of this ship. >"Careful with that one. She is Psionic. If they sense her we will have a larger swarm to deal with.">"Yes, Judicator." You feel them lift you up and haul you towards the Stasis chamber. This might be the end. You're heavily wounded, but you have to act. Now.
>>26159824So then you think an imaginary EMP with affect the real Protoss?
>>26159851Jesus Christ you idiots I told you. Why do people vote on lore-specific combat decisions knowing NOTHING about the combatants or weapons involved?
Commander, are you still conscious?Mission status is currently critical. A plan of action is required.
>>26159935communicate with Protoss as to where henderson and Charlie are.
>>26159851What equipment do we still have on us?Or did they strip us of it?I say we fucking spring onto the templar with our recon hand and hold that bitch as hostage
>>26159851Unleash every bit of psionics we can to alert the zerg (Because I doubt we can do anything to protoss using them)
>>26159851Psionic Heal on us. Then Hellfire those damn dirty Protoss and get the hell out of here using our much better reflexes...that's...all I got really.God damn it, I can't believe we fucked this up because "Lol I bet imaginary EMP works"
>>26159935I suppose wait until this Protoss is isolated from the rest, then assault his mind with everything we have. Otherwise if he/she is never alone and we're close to the tank, just hit them with everything anyway.
>>26159935Don't forget us, Adjutant, love of our life. You were always the best part of us, our guiding conscience. We only ask that you remember. And that you find happiness.
>>26159958You do not have your C-20-A. You still have your P-38 Pistol. You still have D-8 charges. You still have your combat cybernetics.
>>26159935Sorry, internet troubles and plus I was thinking...
>>26159978There is no time to wait, Commander. You will be placed in a Protoss Stasis Crystal in the next 10 to 15 seconds.
>>26159989Psionic heal ourselvesUse our prosthetics to take out one and the pistol to take out the other.
>>26159980I am incapable of happiness, Commander.
>>26159989Do we have our grenades?
>>26160012The grenades are fired by the C-20-A Rifle. You cannot use it currently as it is across the room.
>>26160008knife one guy, pistol another
>>26160020Oh, I thought they were thrown...well shit
>>26160008Shhhhh. It's okay. It's okay, Adjutant.
>>26160024We're a close combat expert, right? Psionic heal ourselves and this...it's all I can really think to do, without our grenades.
>>26159999or, we could arm the D8 and threaten them to release us.
Current plan of action:Psionic HealKnife first ZealotUse sidearm on second ZealotConfirm actions?>Y>N
You heal your wounds using your telepathy. You quickly draw the pistol and bring it under one Zealot's chin and pull the trigger. He disappears in a flash of blue light. You're not fast enough for the second one, however. He knew what you were doing before you did. Your knife twitches near his face as you struggle against his grip. You think quickly and punch him in the stomach. It doesn't do anything. That's when you hear the shotgun. Then again. The zealot goes limp before disappearing as well. The Judicator seems to have disappeared, and Whiskey stands in her place. His helmet is gone, he has a rather nasty gash over one eye. >"Is she still alive?"It takes you a moment to realize who he means. Mia's lying sprawled out on the floor. You rush to her and her wounds on severe. You use the last of your energy to stabilize her, but she's still unconscious. You sense... panic. Not from Whiskey, but the rest of the ship. You look up to him.>"What did you do to them?">"My job."He steps over to the console. He removes the bandolier of D-8 charges from his chest and sets them down on it. He sets the timer.>"What are you doing!?">"Do you speak Khal'ai?">"No, but-">"Then we should get back."You don't have any choice but to comply. You scramble out of the room with Whiskey, who's walking at a much slower pace. He stops outside the door. You can almost hear him count to three. As soon as the explosion goes off he enters the room again. The Crystals are open. The colonists - what's left of them - are there and alive. Henderson stands up, coughing a few times. You don't recognize any of the people present as your marines. That's when the siren sounds. You look to Whiskey.>"I might've destroyed their power core.">"We're still on the ship, Whiskey!">"I didn't expect that part to happen, if I'm perfectly honest."You'll need an escape. Fast.
>>26160318No Charlie?Damnit, alright our best bet is to find a shuttle bay or something similiar and try to hijack a shuttle.
>>26160374Not present, Commander. You do not immediately sense her.
Delta normally I wouldn't suggest this...but get angry. Get roiling mad. They have Charlie and You Want Her Back!
>>26160318So, despite any past conflict, I'm gonna say I love Whiskey. He's the best friend a ghost can have.God damn it Charlie...Get everyone off this ship, and dash to the bridge, we need to at least check for her. Do we have time, or is it literally 10 seconds till world shattering explosion?
>>26160413Are you sure you want to do that, Commander?
>>26160384Tell the others to get out, We go look for Charlie
>>26160433Would...getting angry help anything?Far as I can tell it'd just make us MORE reckless, and I'm betting a mamaship explodes with enough energy to destroy a city block.
>>26160426Power signatures are highly unstable, commander. If you make for any area other than the exit, it is 72% likely you will not escape the ship before it goes critical.
>>26160433No, but I want Charlie back.
>>26160453Energy spikes indicate a 10 to 140 megaton blast is likely.
>>26160454God damn it...I really wish we had taken the shield upgrade for our psionic upgrade...I can't make this decision guys, what do we do?
>>2616047428% survival? I'm game.
>>26160474we have to leave but we are gonna get payback later
>>26160474We [insert heroic arc quote]Whiskey evacuates everyone, we need to find Charlie somehow.
>>26160318We gotta get the fuck out of hereCharlie wouldn't want us to die like this
Henderson tries to hurry you along as you feel several tremors from the unstable ship.>"Boss, I don't mean to sound ungrateful or nothin', but we're going to have to move real soon like."
They were going to put us in the stasis chamber. Charlie is also psionic, so that's where we go, stasis must be deactivating
Sounds kinda relatively divided to me...I don't want to break our promise to Charlie.Guess it's time to follow our heart.
>>26160567"Go, I'm getting Charlie."
>>26160574You have already opened the stasis chamber, Commander. She was not among the prisoners.
>>26160567We fucking goNo sense in dying for nothing
Everyone evacuateDelta to stasis chamber
>>26160567Let's vote then. To have Whiskey get everyone out and to safety, and for us to hunt down Charlie. She would've done the same for us. you know she would have.
Commander, if I may make a tactical suggestion. You continually lament not relying on the combat experience of your allies. Now may be the opportune time.
I predict we try and be heroes and we die a bitch death because of you all
>>26160638No one said being a hero was easy.
>>26160618well then let's do it
>not our marinesPerhaps someone knows something?
>>26160618Wait are you talking about Charlie or Whiskey?
A very, very tiny fraction of your psyche agrees with the Adjutant.>"We need a plan. Whiskey, Henderson, what do you have?"There's a brief pause before Whiskey starts. >"The shields are down. In theory we could have our fighters blast a hole somewhere and possibly use it for Evac. But if we don't know where we're headed it's tantamount to suicide."He pauses for a second.>"I volunteer."Henderson interjects.>"I might know where they took our little lady. On our way in we saw another lab, less prisony, more experimenty, you catch my drift. It's on the far left side of the-"Without letting him finish you scout astrally. You find your missing ghost. She's very seriously wounded.
>>26160779get her. GER HER!!!
>>26160779Have the fighter blast a hole near that lab!
There is no evidence they have her.Even if they do, we cannot find her and escape in time. It's time to go, kids. Also, you retards should have brought the marines squad down WITH YOU.Sp-lit teams get isolated and defeated in detail.EVERY FUCKING TIME I LEAVE YOU PEOPLE DIAL THE RETARD UP, I SWEAR.

>>26160820That will kill her in the explosion.
>>26160856i said near, not into.
>>26160779Lets do eeeet. We have a place then! Yay!We can have them blast a hole in that side and lead everyone there and move them all onboard. Then we jet outta here fast! That explosion is gonna rock the whole planet.
I am proposing a plan with available information and your current personal objectives:Rescue Charlie Phoenix.Deploy Wraith Wing to damage hull near second lab.Deploy Hercules for evac.Confirm deployment?>Y>N
>>26160867I don't think you understand what is happening. Fighters are not snipers. Munitions aren't going to go exactly where you want them.also>heading into potential combat zone>bringing the Hercules to transport people instead of the ValkyriesReally guys?
>>26160925I'd prefer the valkyries as well
>>26160966Too bad nobody thinks about deployments beyond "GO HERE".Protip:Our three valkryies can hold 90 men for ground ops, and defend them against airborne targets. We do not even HAVE 90 marines. There is literally no reason to be using the Hercules for any potential combat op right now.
>>26160998are you retarded?
You pick up Mia's rifle and toss it to Henderson, then address the rest of the Civilians.>"Unfortunately we've only got one ride out of here. And I need it to rescue my last man. It's everyone's only shot so we need to stick together. Keep your heads down and we'll be fine. Let's move!"You don't encounter much resistance. Whiskey doesn't hesitate to shoot any fleeing Protoss however, even if they appear unarmed.Especially if they appear unarmed...The ship's stability continues to decrease. Large chunks of hallways crash down. Explosions wrack the walls. You eventually reach what you thought was a lab. Charlie is standing - bound rather - against an upright table. Several energy beams appear to be keeping her in place. Whiskey fires his EMP and they go down. Charlie immediately slumps to the ground. You hear another explosion, followed by radio.>"Purple 1, damage is negative. We're coming around for another strike."You hold the severely wounded woman in your arms. Without medical assistance she's not long for this world, and you don't have the strength to heal her psionically, after saving Mia. >"Dee... Be strong.">"I don't... I don't think so... my vitals... really bad. ">"Hey. Stay with me Charlie. Don't go to sleep, okay? She's still bleeding, psi-blade wounds cross her entire suit. Her medical systems read multiple organ failure, lungs filling, and nearly fatal blood loss.>"Purple 1, negative damage! God damnit what is this thing made out of!?"The ship rocks again. You start to feel yourself tilting to the left. The ship's losing altitude.>"Tell me about when we were kids, Charlie. Stay with me. Keep talking.">"Heh... Dee... When... One time, the instructor... he was mean. Really mean and I was... I cried... and you decided you were going to get... we were getting even...">"Sounds good.">"So... we stole... his keycard... You can hear Henderson's goodbyes to an unconscious Mia.>"I know I'm not the best at goodbyes, but uh... You weren't so bad, really. In fact I'd even say you were downright good. If it weren't for all those comments about compensatin' I might just have loved you.">"Like hell, Commander! Chewy, spool FTLs!">"Hercules Actual, the hell are you doing?">"Saving the captain! All hands brace for impact! Short range jump on my mark."Before you even have a chance to object, he beats you to it.>"Mark!"The noise is indescribable. The Hercules tears through the mothership's hull faster than the speed of light. Everyone who was standing falls to the ground.>"We're in the ship! Get everyone to us, Sir!"A thin strand of hope pierces your heart. You pick up Charlie in your arms.>"EVERYONE MOVE! NOW! GO!"You charge forward. The empty, flaming ship poses a hazard that you don't have time for. Jagged metal rips your suit and burns you. You stumble into the open Hercules bay. How it'll get free is another question, but you have medics on board. You lay Charlie out on the deck and Jessie rushes forward. She's the Senior medic on this mission and represents Charlie's best chance.>"Move back, move back!"She injects Charlie with a reddish syringe at her wrist. A tube goes down her throat, and connects to one of the ports on Jessie's CMC. Whoever invented integrated life support is a Genius.>"Everyone's onboard! Commander, we need you on the bridge."There's nothing you can do here. The door starts closing. You run to the bridge. >"Sir. Wraiths are free. We've lost the Banshee. We're stuck, right now. Several crew casualties are already confirmed.>"NUUUUAAAAAAAHHHH!">"Keep it together Chewy! Stabilize us with internal gyros! Clamp down that gravity! As soon as the Protoss go down the Zerg move out. And it might be more than just Murric for all you know. But it raises an important question. Why were the Protoss here. You have plenty of time on the ship, Commander. What would you like to do?

Yell for any one with experience repairing an FTL drive to come forward for we are stranded in unknown space
The civilians are grouped in the hold. Most of the ones in the barracks appear to have thought the ones you rescued from the core were dead. Somewhat of a bittersweet reunion. You approach the lead marine. He's had his CMC and C-14 confiscated by your crew, which is standard in this kind of situation.>"So it was Protoss. But I think Zerg may've been involved. Tell me everything about what happened.">"Well, few weeks back, old Fitzgerald started acting weirder than usual. He was always a weird guy, for years and years claimed he got captured by Zerg and they just let him go or something. I know what you're thinking, but he wasn't infested, he was just batty. So one day, he goes off more than usual, we get called in, he says he saw some kind of mutant overlord. We don't find jack or shit, obviously. Few days later he disappears. Then... people start acting weird. And they start to disappear, too. More and more of them. Eventually what was left of us cut the power and holed up in the starport on canned beans until you came. Whatever happened, something sabotaged all the vehicles. Everything, cars, ATVs, dropships. It took out the Comms, cut the cables, we couldn't contact anyone, we couldn't go anywhere. That's... it, really."

>>26162522>"I know what you're thinking, but he wasn't infested"Doubt it matter to the Protoss...sounds like they sensed a couple of Zerg spores and said "NUKE IT ALL"That's protoss for you...yup
>>26162580Call NA then.Offer cash. That, or the confed remnants.Just don't' give the confed a location right away, and consult with everyone onboard.
The civilians go back to their... being bored, or whatever. You return to the bridge.>"How long until we're good go get the hell out of here, Ensign?">"About 8 hours, sir. Buckle up."You stare at the command console. A ship capable of breaking the laws of physics and it can barely scoot forward as fast as if you were able to push it. >"We're looking at some serious damage though. Things are still going offline. We lost internal sensors about six minutes ago. Not a big fix but we'll wait 'til we hit the Daluke for it."
We need a spacecraft tech or engi.Psionics don't sound like a good idea when swarms are a possibility.
