Mission archives:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Ghost%20QuestResource list:http://pastebin.com/MWbqjUDPTwitter:@GhostAdjutantYou were a ghost operative of the Terran Dominion, under Emperor Arcturus Mengsk. Your Codename is Delta Phoenix. You received a transmission from Korhal. "The Emperor is Dead. Long live the Emperor. "It seems like a lifetime since the fall of Korhal disabled your neural inhibitor and you went rogue. With the help of a rogue Dominion Marine, Jacob Henderson, you and your small crew secured a Gorgon-Class battlecruiser you now call The Daluke. The Dominion, bounty hunters, and criminal scum alike are all after you with a massive 1.5 billion credit bounty on your head. But they're going to have to earn it, first. You are currently organizing the rebels on New Albuquerque to keep the bloodshed to a minimum once you kill Governor Lakas. The invitations have been sent and you're awaiting your arrivals.
The first arrival is Aixa Centeno Heredia, leader of the Shipbuilder's rebellion, by dropship no less. She's accompanied by no one, as requested, but you clearly see a pistol at her side. She approaches you and Charlie but remains silent. Soon you hear the roar of additional engines. It's a police dropship, your contact with the police spies, Iselda Mejía Sánchez. Aixa pulls her gun out.>"You set me up! Fuckin' ghost!">"Calm down. It's on your side. Hopefully."Several more dropships, vultures, and a few ATVs arrive in the next few seconds. Among them are Berta Maldonado, the very large leader of the NAPA. Ettiene Munguia, leader of Los Rosas. Justiniano Valencia of the rogue bankers. Akira Esquibel of the firefighters. Concordia Cruz, the nun in charge of the Missionaries. Jessie Aranda, the tall dark stranger in charge of the mysterious guild. Karen Cortés, the vixen commanding the heartbreakers with her good-looks and scars. Major Thomás Rosales, commander of the Rogue Army Division. The leader of the Buffalo Riders, Adelmar Alemán. The scrappy leader of the Yard Workers, Dugen Lemus Vela. And lastly, Lemuel Baca, representing the rogue engineers. Once you're satisfied they're all here, you begin to speak.
>>26108954Alright, I called you all here today to settle a little matter regarding a mutual enemy. You all hate him as much as you hate each other, so it'd probably be more efficient to get him out of the way before you start whacking each other off. Though, I hope that you guys will actually talk things out so that there won't be so many whackings in the aftermath.
>"As you've all been made aware I am the party responsible for your anonymous schematics.">"Who are you, exactly?">"That's not important. What is important is my mission here. Governor Lakas is going to die. You are equipped to deal with any remaining presence he has." The banker's leader speaks up.>"What's the catch?">"No catch, just one difficulty. I don't want the colony to devolve into full on civil war."The leader of the Yard Workers responds.>"So what, we just sit back and let these Banker assholes do the exact same thing as soon as you're gone? I ain't workin' with them!">"You have a problem with me? At least I didn't vote for him like the Shipbuilder's unions.">"Yeah, you just stuffed his pockets and let him take over tha' whole fuckin' planet!"At this point it essentially devolves into a shouting match, pointed fingers, and the blame game. Nun insults whore, blue collar worker yells at white collar, military threatens criminal.Charlie raises her sidearm and fires into the sky. The resulting gunshot returns their attention to you.>"Thank you. Now I already know Don Javelito had agreements with most of you. However, I also happen to know that he planned to kill -all- of you once the rebellion was completed. Unlike him I have no desire to stay here, so you will organize yourselves and behave like adults or I will find rebels who can."Charlie gives you a sidelong glance. She didn't expect you to pull them together quite so forcefully.Karen is the first to recognize the situation and, thusly, the first to speak.>"What do you need us to do?"
>>26108954Inform them that we are the origin of the weapons schematics and shipments they've recieved. Inform them we have an interest in regime change and establishing a fairly elected, democratic government on New Albuquerque. Inform them we would like to discuss strategy and tactics for pulling off the coup.
>>26109040I'm going to take out Lakas. You are going to figure out how to form a coherent government that isn't a corrupt piece of crap.
>>26108954"The people you see across the table from you, each and every one of them is on your side, like it or not. Whatever political differences you may all have that can be worked out later, under proper channels and not at the end of a pistol or cannon head. That's what you all hate this man for, is it not?Good. I need you all to work together to take down whatever remaining force this man will have once me and my associate kill him. They will be scattered, but not harmless, so don't be foolish.Once that is complete, you will settle on having civil discussion on the sort of government that will replace his. How that discussion goes, entirely, is not up to me, but there must be, and will be, compromise, or no one will get anything they want.Do any of you have a problem with this?"
>>26109040"I will take care of the governor personally. You will coordinate your forces and protect civilians from retaliation by Lakas' loyalists. After the coup, there will be a summit where you can put forward your grievances in an organized manner and negotiate the planet's future governance. I can fly in neutral observers and legal teams from Murica if you want to set up a truth and reconciliation commission and a court of law to publically try Lakas' accomplices."
>>26109040First any and all information they have on the exact whereabouts of Governor Lakas and whoever else we will need to take out to make the transition smoother.
>>26109085Hopefully Murica will still be on talking terms with us when we get back.
>"The people you see across the table from you, each and every one of them is on your side, like it or not. Whatever political differences you may all have that can be worked out later, under proper channels and not at the end of a pistol or cannon head. That's what you all hate this man for, is it not?"Several of them seem to agree, but you can sense dissension. >"Good. I need you all to work together to take down whatever remaining force this man will have once me and my associate kill him. They will be scattered, but not harmless, so don't be foolish.">"Once that is complete, you will settle on having civil discussion on the sort of government that will replace his. How that discussion goes, entirely, is not up to me, but there must be, and will be, compromise, or no one will get anything they want."You scan the assembled, reading them for disagreement.>"I can fly in neutral observers and legal teams from Murric if you want to set up a truth and reconciliation commission and a court of law to publicly try Lakas' accomplices.">"Do any of you have a problem with this?">"I do."The police spy's leader stands and kneels her knuckles heavily on the table. >"I've been preaching to kids my entire career about taking candy from strangers. I'm not going to agree to work with criminals because you tell me what to do. I need to know what you're getting out of this or I'm walking."
>>26109113>I plan on using the space ports. Simple as that. That's all we're after right? Except schematics that is.
>>26109113"You want me to be honest about my motives? I'm tired of seeing frontier worlds exploited by petty dictators like Lakas, or insane tyrants like Mengsk. I'm tired of corruption, of squabbling, of lies and deceit when the threat of aliens looms large and the UED may decide to pay us a visit again. And to be perfectly honest with you, my long-term vision is to forge an alliance of free worlds that can work together to stand against the Dominion."
>>26109113what I want in return is a safe haven and recruits in the future as well as schematics for starports and starvessels. If you want to be more specific, some people I trust didn't sit well with rebels here getting killed when we could have done something to save lives.
>>26109113"What I get out of this is simple, a friendly planet that won't try to screw me over, and as much technology and units as I can carry, the question you should be asking is, what do you get out of this? Do you like the existing corrupt government, that would pay me a lot of money to bring all of your heads to them, or do you want to take this chance, and build a government that this planet deserves?
>>26109113"What am I getting out of this? I don't quite see why you care, but if you must know...I don't like Tyranny. Or Dictators. Long story, really, but if you must have the whole story, I can tell you. It's not like you can look at me and have no idea anyway."They surely recognize we were once from the Dominion.
>>26109138"But for the moment? I need free use of your starport facilities, free access to tech schematics, and as many SCV crews as you can spare."
>>26109113"What we get is simple. A place where we can trade and resupply. I do not create things. That is a skill help by others. All I am trained in is death and destruction, so I shall kill and destroy that which is corrupt in the hopes that those who can build will do so and create something better. If you do not wish to partake in this undergoing, feel free to leave, As once the Governor is dead, Me and my Colleague will be taking our leave. If and When we return, I hope it is to a world better than how we will be leaving it. If not, then we will just keep doing what we do until something sticks..."
>"I'll be getting what I need. What I need is to crush every petty tyrant. Every dictator. What I need are ships, spaceports, and recruits for this mission. What I need is a unified fringe, able to resist incursions of the Dominion. What I need is for you to stop killing yourselves so that when the Zerg or Protoss invade you'll provide more than 5 minutes of resistance."The woman relaxes, then sits in her chair. She thought you were a Dominion operative up until that point, as did several others.Charlie speaks up, next.>"We have information on every major installation and the likely attack points when the government declares martial law after Lakas death. Each of you will be responsible for the control of you own city."The engineer speaks.>"So we won't expect any more help from you two once Lakas is dead, then?"
>>26109216Tell them that we can get the ball rolling, but once it starts, it will be up to them to keep it going and up to them to keep it on a good path.
>>26109216"Well what kind of help do you need?"
ok guys, I'm out. see you tomorrow night, hopefully.
>>26109216What kind of help are you expecting to need? Any particular fronts or flanks that are weak to attack? You may need to coordinate with each other, stronger groups protecting the weak.
>>26109257>>26109247Before you even vocalize the question, you sense Charlie in your head.>"Military support. We're two ghosts, we can't provide any."
>>26109216Let's not say no as there might be other targets that we can get out of their way to help the process along. Make sure they know we aren't going to help put their government together, but anything before that we could maybe help with.If we are going to help this rebellion it's we better not half ass it.
>>26109216I've already provided schematics. We're not exactly rolling in resources either...but you be sure to let me know if there's a particular installation, defense grid, or leader giving you trouble. We are ghosts, after all.
>>26109274I like it!
>>26109274ya this is really the best we could do with what we have on hand
>>26109216The various groups need to coordinate their forces and work together to fill gaps. Also, if they need time to build up forces and make use of the schematics we provided, they should inform us now.
>>26109216"I have already given you all the schematics you need, If you cannot take control and clean up after Lakas is dead, then maybe you don't deserve this planet?
>"Once Lakas is dead, we cease to exist. If a random defense grid goes down at a lucky time, just thank someone up above. Coordinate your forces. Build everything you can with what we've given you, and good luck."You and Charlie leave the gathering and head to the dropship. Now it's time to go Tyrant hunting...
>>26109216"This is your planet. You are the one's suffering under his rule. We will cut off the head, but the body is something which only you all can deal with. As I stated, I have no personal stake in your planet. If I were to return with a fleet and an army, do you think that other Ex-dominion forces would let you have control of your planet? Most of the other units out there are self-interests. If they remove your current government, they will set up shop themselves. I offer you not an easy option, but the opportunity to take control of your planets future. We have provided Schematics for various units and production facilities, and we shall be removing the Governor. If there are other HVTs which you could provide the location and reasons why they are vital to the Governor's forces response, then I shall see about removing them as well, though apart from the Governor himself, I offer no promises."
The planetary capital is Mescal, home to about 0.9 million souls. It's where the capitol building of the New Albuquerque government resides. It's there that you'll find the information you need.>Full ghost gear.>Plainclothes espionage.
>>26109334what are the local sensor systems like, are they able to detect us if we are stealthed?
>>26109334Delta in plainclothes, Charlie in full gear providing sniper support
>>26109334>Full ghost gearHell, we'll get a lot more done with the suit on then without I figure.
>>26109334>Full ghost gear.I am petty sure we have the recon hand in so we would stick out if we went plainclothes
>>26109334>Full ghost gear.stealthed all the way, we can read minds or hack if we need to
>>26109342There are weapons sensors at the public entrance.Other entrances are locked with biometric scanners.
>>26109334Lakas doesn't suspect we're out to get him. We could just set up a meeting with him under the pretext of getting more work cleaning out the cartel.
>>26109334>>Full ghost gear.
>>26109360The cartel's operations have been reduced by 71% since your intervention, commander.
>>26109367Surely Lakas is aware of all those other rebel groups and may want help with them? Of course, we can't let him know WE know about them.
>>26109378While it is possible, he has put forward no official request for mercenaries or bounty hunters. It is incredibly likely that due to the nature of these rebels the government is attempting to keep their existence secret. In fact that is the reason one or more of these rebel groups even exist.
>>26109387All right. Is the Governor's building accessible from the outside? Could we climb its exterior while cloaked? Any detection systems?
>>26109399The building is several stories tall. Entrance can be granted either by the roof or destroying one of the multiple windows.Scanners indicate no detection systems at this time.
>>26109387Well, we could still set up a meeting with him, under the pretext of negotiating starport access and buying ships from him.
>>26109407Do we know guard patrol routes inside the building? Any civilians that could come under crossfire? Does the governor have a wife? Children?
>>26109421All levels of the building are occupied by a large number of civilians. The governor has a wife and 2 daughters.>>26109409I have attempted to contact the company for a meeting. All dealings are done through intermediaries on Lakas' behalf.
>>26109433Sounds like we're gonna have to sneak it, and take him out, nice and quiet. He's just a backworlder tyrant, I doubt he's ready for...us.
>1 Ghost gear. Infiltrate Lakas' offices and assassinate him.>2 Kidnap family members, force Lakas into the open and eliminate him.>3 Plainclothes infiltration, assassinate Lakas while wearing flipflops.
>>26109433Proposed plan: infiltrate via roof, access governor's office, have him confess his crimes over the planetary network (threaten wife and children if necessary). This will hopefully reduce public support for Lakas' loyalists and increase desertion, putting less pressure on the rebels.
>>26109462Adjutant, please consider a modified option:>>26109463 + >2We kidnap his family, force him to confess, then eliminate him.
>>26109433Hmmm, Based on what he has done, I get the feeling that we will want to get his family off-world as certain factions are liable to try and have them punished and/or killed for what he has done...Also, i propose that all future contracts we actually do some research into the behind the scenes play before killing them. Just so we don't get caught in moral debates after killing a rebel leader who was fighting a corrupt tyrant... who we were unaware of the tyrants corruption...
>>26109462Also>Assassinate while wearing flipflopsDamn, maybe we can go to the barren beach afterwards and enjoy the salt winds.Still the image of DP in a giant sun hat is hilarious.
>>26109488After killing Lakas, we can extract his family... possibly to Murric...Though we should get his reasoning behind the atrocities he committed...Turns out the nuke plant was in dire need of repair when the workers went on strike, he tried getting engineers in to fix the shielding but the workers thought that they were sabotaging it....In Before 'With the Best Intentions'...
You suit up with Charlie and head for the building. It's relatively open, as he population comes and goes, and you have no trouble reaching one of the windows and scaling the building. While tall, it's not exactly the farthest you've had to climb. You reach the roof and are disappointed to find that the door up here also has a biometric scanner. Paranoid bastard.>1 Break into his office by window.>2 Ventilation system.
You kick off the air conditioner's shielding. The vents are slightly smaller than normal and you find yourself immensely frustrated by being forced to squeeze into such a small space. You're able to still move relatively quietly. Your HUD guides the way and you drop down into his office. He's looking out of the oversized window and talking on the phone.>"So just get more boys to the Starport and tell them to keep at it. I can't have them on strike now, we don't have enough vikings for the contract."He blows a loud plume of smoke as he listens. You and Charlie slowly sneak up behind him. You start to feel slow with all this sneaking, why haven't you killed him already? You prepare your side-arm and take aim.>"What, you think I'm just going to let that Broodmother have this place?">1 Stop and listen.>2 Take him hostage. Have him confess his crimes publicly.>3 Kill him. You came here to kill him. Everyone needs you to kill him.
>>26109631Adjutant, you magnificent bastard. Also, I admire how many ghost pics you have.
>>26109631>>26109540Can't stop thinking of the air duct scene in boondock saints.
You stop in your tracks. Why does everyone have to not be just pure evil. Just once you want to stab someone and go "Yep. Deserved the shit out of that.">"Two mining stations in the last three days and you're telling me it ain't a problem? No one's gonna help us out here, Honcho. Murric got wrecked by a half-a-dozen battlecruisers. Nohallan's a bunch of drunks. Kilaro's rolling around in it's own shit. Between you and me if we can take her out I bet we can unite them all. I know right? Emperor fuckin' Lakas. Look, just keep the patrols up. You get any of those goddamn mutalisks, or hydralisks, or any other kind of fuckin'-lisk coming too close to the perimeter you let me know."He hangs up the phone and continues to stare out the window. If you want to act, the time is now.>1 Take him hostage. Make him apologize.>2 No excuses. He has to pay for his crimes.>3 Both.
>>26109701What does "both" mean? We take him hostage, make him apologize, then kill him?
>>26109701>mfw I was thinking "Sometimes I wish dudes were just plain evil." tooHeh
>>26109701>4 "Why not just tell them about the Zerg?"
>>26109743Included in 1 or 3.
>>26109750Wouldn't mind using this to get info outta him about the Zerg, by the way Adjutant. They can be a real problem if we ignore em
>>26109701Adjutant, I would like to note that I want the chance to talk to him. He needs to order his forces to stand down and not resist the rebels. Whatever happens on this planet, whether Lakas is alive or dead, it can't waste manpower and resources killing each other when there's zerg out there that needs killin'.Also, for that "emperor" comment, dude just lost my sympathy. No fuckin' emperors. Never again.
>>26109771He'll probably want something in return for telling everyone to step down, we could offer him the safety of his wife and daughters. Possibly promise him his own life too, then go full "I lied" and drop him off the building.
You sneak up behind him and put your blade to his neck.>"Governor Lakas. I have spent the last few hours cleaning up the mess you had me make.">"Whoa, whoa. Hey now. Let's not do anything hasty."Your rage momentarily rises but your aggression inhibitor kicks on.>"I don't do hasty. I'm a ghost.">"Then listen to me very carefully, alright? Those people were criminals. Selling stimpacks to kids kind of criminals.">"And the various rebel groups I've armed and organized against you? The workers dead at Jake's Forge? The squalor and poverty they live in?">"All part of a bigger plan. If we're not equipped this entire edge of the fringe is going to burn.">"And you'll just happen to end up as Emperor of the unburnt sector? I've heard that speech before, you might recall a fellow by the name of Mengsk."Your inhibitor beeps away as it's overloading. A feint thought at the back of your head tells you that you shouldn't be this angry. You realize you're drawing blood with your knife.>"Just a joke, ghost. I'm doing what I have to. Everyone is. We don't have a choice. We can't do better on this ball of sand. Everyone has to work the shipyards if we want to stand any chance at survival.">"Then you're going to tell them. All of them."You turn the man around. Charlie enables her visor to record.>"You're going to tell them why you committed your crimes. And then you're going to die for them.">"You can't do this. I have a wife and kids. Lots of people are going to die.">"Lots of people have wives and kids. Lots of people die every day. I have no sympathy for you. Start talking.">"I won't do it. You can't make me."Awaiting input...
>>26109845We don't need to kill him. We can just hand him over to the rebels and then THEY can kill him.
>>26109862I think it's time for some psychic torture. What sort of nasty things can we do to his unprotected virgin mind, Adjutant?
>>26109886Horrible, Terrible things, Commander.
>>26109888My favoriteLet's see if we can't make him experience a few nightmares come to life really quick...nothing to render him into a gibbering monkey, of course, we want him to talk still and admit stuff...but enough.
>>26109888Can we make him our friend and have him cooperate?
>>26109888I say we start with some subtle stuff, no need to make his brains spill out his ears yet, lets get as much info from his brain as we can, then go to work
>1 Unleash psionic torture.>2 Promise safety of wife and children if he complies.>3 Lie, promise safety of him, wife, and family, if he complies.
>>26109862Does he have a psy-shield? If not;"Have you ever had a Ghost in your mind before? I hear it is a strange sensation, the feeling of having your mind poked, prodded and read like a book... Even molded like clay, or crushed like a bug... You will explain to the populace why they have suffered at your hand, or I shall make you explain in a way that you will most likely beg for death from...
>>26109888I back with 100%We can threaten to do it and once he doesn't budge we can go through with all the "fun" stuff.
>>26109908Hm... well I wanna be reasonable...but it's 7 am and I want to hear some screams
>>26109862"I can, and I will. I can guarantee the safety of your wife and children. I can save them from the zerg who will inevitably overrun this backwater if you allow it to fall into total chaos."reposition the knife"Look, do you even CARE what happens to this world? You want it to be able to repel the zerg threat, you want your plan to work, then you have to come out and tell the people what's going on. At least have the decency to die like a man."
>>26109908Voting ended at 07:19. Tallying votes.
>"You seem to care about your wife and children so much. How about we put your money where your mouth is.">"You wouldn't.">"I have before, for individuals far less deserving than you.">"And how can I trust you? How do I know you're telling the truth?">"Because you don't have a choice. I am a trained ghost operative. If I have to keep you alive and systematically remove each organ from your body as you watch on life support I will do it twice."He goes pale, realizing that you're probably not lying. You're not.>"Look into the camera, Governor. And remember to smile..."
>>26109985Man, DP really earned herself a set of lady balls today.
>>26109985Question, what is the extent of our psionic healing ability?
>>26110025I do not have data on that at this time as you have not yet attempted to use it, Commander.
>"People of New Albuquerque. I am Governor Lakas. Many of you suspect or have suspected that corruption runs rampant within our system. I am... being forced to tell you today that it is... partially true. The system that demands so much of you in return for so little is by design." >"The truth is that our military forces have discovered a brood mother operating within our nearby systems. Multiple zerg contacts have threatened our operations for the last 5 years, and we have kept this information from you to prevent any sort of widescale panic. Everything that has been done, everything that I have done, was to protect you."The man's voice starts to crack. His thoughts shift from logic and reason and into the incoherent fear that plagues the minds of men about to die. You know it all too well.>"Girls, remember that daddy loves you. Cheryl, I-"You snap his neck. You didn't promise him a goodbye. >"I've forwarded it to our rebel friends. They'll know what to do with it, Delta."You nod, but you aren't satisfied. The man's husk brings you no respite. You leave the building as quickly and as silently as you came and make for your dropship.
>>26110069Damn it, I told myself I wouldn't care about the asshole. I TOLD MYSELF
>>26110069"Welcome to Anger Management Volume One. Repeat after me: Anger does not dictate my life.
A single man sits on the dropship's cockpit. His dark clothes and signature hat tell you who he is before he even speaks.>"You have done it then? You returned to free my people?">"Your people will free themselves. I did what I needed to.">"And... my son?">"He is aboard my ship, with his grandmother.">"I see. You have done more for me than I have done for you."The man slides down from his high perch, and offers you a bow.>"I, the humble Enrique, offer my services to you. You have spared my life and that of my son. For this I am eternally grateful.">"Good. Let's go."You break atmo and start your orbit. As the computer calculates the jump back to the Daluke you can hear the rebel yell of the New Albuquerqueans. >"We've got tanks on the high ground, let 'er rip!">"That's a lot of chunks.">"We've got a few boys holed up in the station, say that they wanna surrender.">"Mescal flag goin' up. We're free, boys. We're free."
>>26110069Man...always gotta pull at the heartstrings don't ya Adjutant. So the Terrazine has side effects, huh guys?
>>26110118((YOU ALREADY SAID THAT YOU STUPID - NNNUGGHH!))
>>26110069I still think that we need to evac his family lest they take the brunt of the more un-ethical rebel factions...Also, we now have a new objective; Prepare the sector for large scale Zerg Defense & Assault on the Broodmother.
>>26110127Well damn, how about that...shoulda figured he'd come back. I'd call that a pretty successful mission. We should...uh...keep an eye out on this place. For the future. If that zerg problem doesn't get cleaned up properly, well that could mean bad news for everyone.
>>26110127Cool, what kind of hero unit is Enrique?
>>26110152Whoa large scale? I don't think it's THAT serious yet... I mean, I'm all for fighting her after we're done at Murric, but there's no need to rush. the guys on that planet have held it for 5 years, they can probably handle a few more weeks or so
>>26110176As in getting the local systems to fortify and build up their fleets. Not pull a 'level 1 ASSAULT THE INFESTED BATTLECRUISER' plan...
The jump is prepared for a hasty escape. Charlie has calculated the location of the Governor's family. They've been recalled home to the Lakas compound as soon as the fighting started. the compound has a sensor network that can detect you, and a handful of personal guards and automated defenses at the perimeter. You will have to disable the perimeter to rescue them.>1 Abandon the mission. Make the jump. You've done enough.>2 You made the man a promise. Slimy though he was, his children shouldn't pay for his actions.
>>26110176Should have pulled more info out of the dude's head about the zerg when he was still alive.
>>26110152>>26110176Agreed, let them build it up themselves, and we focus on protecting Murric and our base there
>>26110207Hacked New Albuquerquean signal that they have no idea how large or advanced the brood is, or if it is even operating in system space.
>>26110207I doubt he knew all that much. All he knew was "Zerg bad, zerg over there, we shoot zerg, they bleed."
>>26110203If we start going back on our word, we will be no better than the tyrants we are fighting.also, we might be able to grab a couple of units as well...Schematic Stealing HO!
It's fortunate for the Lakas family that you arrived when you did. Several of the New Albuquerque People's Army tanks are sieged up in position and about to open fire by the time you arrive. If you disable the perimeter the compound will be over-run with rebels. If you leave it, you'll have to deal with Lakas' guards and sensors.
>>26110270Extraction first, then disable defenses. They'll think the bastard was lonely I suppose.
>>26110248We ARE going to the Lakas compound, no? We should be able to find some nice loot in the ex-Governor's office>>26110270If we disable the siege line, we're wasting our time and rebels will be able to rush the hell out of the compound. I suggest we sneak in, offer the opportunity to escape to those willing and kill those that decline. I assume the compound has a transport or secret exit
>>26110270Contact Lakas' guards, tell them we're here for the governor's family, offer the men to join up with our crew if they don't want to die to the rebels.
>>26110220He was talking to someone who had intel on the zerg. He also knew they'd taken out three mining stations. We need access to all information on zerg attacks in the sector.
>>26110308We'll need to evac them somehow, and we can't let the rebels find out that we have their targets or it'll strain our relationship with them, and make acquisition of Starport/air unit schematics harder to obtain. Also, loot Governor's room for intel on Zerg
Hey guys. That broodmother Lakas is talking about... could it be connected to the zerg presense on that mineral-rich volcanic world?
>>26110317Well that's hardly secret information. Secret from the public, sure, but it's probably logged on his computer knowing that guy. Should be easy to access once a proper government is set up.
>>26110331Broodmothers are essentially weaker cerebrates, so it is possible.
>1 Disable Perimeter. Kidnap family, acquire schematics and intel, and escape in the chaos.>2 Leave perimeter active. Kidnap family, acquire schematics and intel, and escape before rebels destroy the compound.>3 Radio ahead, offer to take the family and any guards that will join you.
Man, if this is what politics in the Korpulu sector is like, then I'm starting to understand why Mengsk snapped. Fuck, we're just a ghost trying to make the world a better place, and all we do is cause clusterfucks wherever we go.
>>26110396This planet is actually reasonably stable politically for the sector, Delta Phoenix.
>>26110406Does that mean... we...we were actually successful here?!
You radio the compound. >"This is Black Earl to Lakas security. Do you need extraction, over?">"Negative Black Earl. Protocol is to protect the Governor's family and wait for our own extraction. We can't take rides with strangers, over."In retrospect you have no idea why you thought that would work.>1 Disable Perimeter. Kidnap family, acquire schematics and intel, and escape in the chaos.>2 Leave perimeter active. Kidnap family, acquire schematics and intel, and escape before rebels destroy the compound.
>>26110421Define 'success', Commander.Personal note: I don't think so.
>>26110428>2 Leave perimeter active. Kidnap family, acquire schematics and intel, and escape before rebels destroy the compound.
>>26110436Ah Adjutant, always keeping my feet on the ground and my face in the dirt. Good times...good times.
>>26110428What part of >offer the men to join up with our crew if they don't want to die to the rebels was unclear? Are they stupid or something? Do they want to get overrun?
>>26110441Illegal vote, Format should just be >2
>>26110428How about we disable the perimeter, then restate our offer?
>>26110469It is possible that extraction is on-route and we are not yet aware, Commander.
>>26110476Time until rebel occupation of the entire compound after the perimeter is disabled does not allow for intense negotiations, Commander. It is 67% likely that you will be hit by a siege tank round. Without viking armor it is 98% more fatal.
Rolled 1Registering conflicted consensus.Rolling to resolve.
>>26110494looks like we're getting hit in the face by a siege tank again...
>"Fine, they don't want to sign up, they can get blown up. Enrique can you pilot a dropship?">"Since I was 16, Señorita.">"Then hold us over the compound. We're going in."The dropship flies overhead, unable to be touched by the various ground-based defenses. You and Charlie jump off and land. The ship takes off to circle overhead until you need extraction. The HUD registers two possible ways to disable security.>1 Disable sensors in main security office. While this is more difficult, the main weapons will remain online and slow down the rebels.>2 Disable power. Easier, but will disable all lighting, automated defenses, and sensors.
>>26110503wasn't the last time in the back?>>26110521Maybe we can get some security schematics while we're in the office...
You head to the compound's entrance. It's guarded by two CMC marines, but they don't stand much chance against two ghosts, even with sensors online. It's when you open the door and the auto-turret on the floor opens fire that you have a problem. Then the additional six marines. Those are also a problem. Then there's the siege tank blowing a huge hole into the skylight above you and raining glass down. It doesn't hurt or anything but it's kind of annoying. You sense the location of the six marines with your psionics. You draw your sidearm, and keep your C-20-A in your mainhand. You round out to the right from the pillar you were behind and take careful aim in the half-second you can. The first marine takes a canister shot to the shoulder, then through his visor. You chose him first specifically because he was the only left-handed squad member and you don't want an oddball screwing up your game. You head for the stairs to the left quickly. The marines are slow to respond as they were all expecting you to head the other direction. The second marine goes down. C-20 through the chest cavity. Nothing left. You feint towards them, jumping into the air as you do. Your sidearm eliminates one of the marines, the rifle another. You kick the fifth to the ground and round both weapons on the sixth marine. He drops his gun and holds up his hands.>"I, uh, I give up."You shrug, then wave him away with your weapons. He runs out the front door. You move through the halls of the oversized house before you make it to the security room. You sense another squad of marines, about half a dozen. They've taken up defensive positions and are aimed at the door.>1 Flashbang.>2 Hellfire.>3 EMP, disable lights.
>>26110646Could we get any information on the marines visors, like say if they are resistant to flashbangs through mindreading?
You open the door and hug one side, Charlie on the other. You place the C-20 through the room and hear the signature noises.Thunk.>"GRENADE!"Bang.You both enter the room and are started to discover them still aimed at you. Apparently the visors these marines are equipped with are shielded against flashbangs. You duck behind one of the nearby consoles reflexively, and are able to kill two marines before they even begin to return fire. Charlie ducks behind a different console, taking significantly more fire. You vault over two consoles, not only leaping your own cover but also leaping onto one of the marines behind their own. As he gains his bearings you have a flank of his entire squad and empty an entire clip into them. There are no survivors. You point your weapon at the marine you're currently standing on. He doesn't register that your weapon is empty. You're not particularly sure you need a prisoner.
>>26110752Commander, the Clip-Magazine wars of old Earth are over. The clips have won after billions of deaths.
((Looks like I only have 1.5 people playing. I wanted to end the thread after you rescuemurder Lakas' family though.))
>>26110731Find out where the happy family is, along with security positions, defense points the more intel the better, then kill him.
>>26110789im still here, didnt see a 'what do' and thought you were continuinglets see what info we can get from the marine, if he proves useful he might get to live
>>26110789Don't stop, I'm lurking and liking.I'll start voting and shit if it'll make you feel better.
Charlie heads to the security console to deactivate the sensors, but not before finding the location of the family. Naturally there's a panic room in this house's basement. Additionally, the location of an armory and Lakas' study are found, though you will only have time to visit one of them, if either.>"She's already found our target. We've disabled your security. You don't seem particularly useful to me, marine. Why should I let you live?"The man looks around in a panic before he responds shakily.>"I - I can sing?"Apart from the distant boom and shaking of siege tanks shelling the compound, everything goes silent for a moment.>"You.. can sing?">"I can sing! I'm a great singer! And I can cook, too! I'm a mean chef!"You make a point of things to reload.
>>26110825((Don't care about votes as long as stuff's alive in the archives, so you should probably do that in case I get trolled by the 20 odd people it would take. I just want to make sure my game has players.))
>>26110869Tell him to elaborate.
>>26110816well, he gets to take his chances with the Siege Tanks outside...
>>26110869hero chef?I say we take him, he can keep morale up
>>26110878>"Elaborate."The man seems dumbfounded that it appears he hasn't died yet.>"I- I spent 2 years at culinary school before this. The economy got so bad I had to quit and do this! I don't even know how to aim those C-14's! But I can make you anything! Beef Fajita Salad! Roasted Vegetable Orzo! Orange Pecan French Toast!">"I could go for some pancakes, Actually.">"Charlie, please. Just... Don't encourage him."What do you do with him?
>>26110907keep him alive, disarm him and bring him along, also, remember to get charlie some pancakes after this is done
>>26110869"What is the sound of one hand clapping, private?"
>>26110907Direct him to the dropship of course. Chef GET!
>>26110907"You will come with us and the Governors Family. Then upon arrival at the Daluke, you will make Charlie Pancakes as and when she wants them... And cook for the others as well I suppose...head to the panic room via the Armory. Use our new friend to get though any bio-metrics...though, what is the probability of interesting equipment & schematics in the Armoury compared to the Study?
>>26110929It is likely that the armory will have schematics on ground operations, while the study will have information on the zerg and aerial or orbital schematics.
>>26110907Fine, but only cause Charlie wants pancakes and I hate what they serve in the mess hall.
>>26110939>Info on zergOff to the study we go.
>>26110940I now remember where I saw your name. BRONZE LEAGUE HEROOOOOOOOOOOOS!
>>26110939Into the study then!
>>26110939Then we route through the Study instead then.We can always play in the armory once our objectives are completed...
>>26110961Yes. "Play" in the "Armory".
You step off the marine.>"Get up. Follow us. Don't make a move for a weapon or you're dead.">"Wh-where are we going?">"We're going to rescue Lakas' family, and you're going to make Charlie pancakes and work in my mess hall.">"Score! So sick of that gunk that the Chefbot puts out.">"I - what? I'm a slave now?">"I mean, I could still shoot you."The man doesn't object further. You need to decide your next course of action.>1 Armory>2 Study>3 Panic Room
>>26110959Woo, you got the reference.Have a cookie.
>3Gotta keep what you promise. Then again, did we say "promise"?
>>26110976Err, to confirm. We can go to either the study or the armory and the panic room right?
>>26110995Yes.You have time for 2 with current estimates.Note that these are very rough estimates, Commander. I do not have schematics on the house's structural stability vs arclite tanks.
>>26110985"You are not a slave. Consider this.... Forceful recruitment."Get the family THEN the study. don't want to 'mission failed' because we got a bit greedy. The Study should still be there after we have the family..
>>26110995Or we could ditch them altogether and get all the schematics instead
>>26111008Shouldn't they be busy with shooting revolutionaries?
>>26111040The revolutionaries are shooting at -you-, Commander.
>>26111049Can't we send them a transmission, preferably video saying>I'm the ghost that gave you those schematics, can you stop shooting the arclites for 5 minutes.
>>26111049So much for leaving the house defences intact. Could we split up to look for schematics, then regroup at the panic room instead?
>>26111072yeah nah, that aint going to work
>>26111077I like this. inb4 losing charlie, but she a ghost so it should be groovy.
>>26111072they are random revolutionaries with a murderboner the size of jupiter in the middle of their coup, what makes you think they care about someone who does not exist who may or may not have helped their leaders?contacting them right now is just going to waste more time and make them want to kill us even more
The siege continues as you move through the halls, dispatching Lakas' remaining security forces. You finally reach the study and begin to upload schematics.>Starport.>Wraith.>Wraith cloak reactor.>BansheeThen you get to the important files. Those about New Albuquerque's defense. The broodmother was first sighted a few years back. They just thought feral Zerg were roaming around. The attacks have increased in purpose, focused on stealing minerals, gas, and personnel. They have no idea where she's operating out of and strikes apparently happen at random. You download the information to review it closer later. For now, you have to continue.Large chunks of the buildings structure are crumbling down and every other room is on fire. You don't have much time.>1 Panic room.>2 Armory.
>>26111078Dude, we did actually give them the schematics, kill the dude ruling the planet (Who's name I forgot) and are now assaulting from the inside. I'd think they'll listen to us at least a bit.
>>26111109We better not get there to find a room filled with meaty chunks...
>>26111109can we call our evac now? I imagine we don't want to stay around much longer...
>>26111109>Starport>Wraith>Wraith cloak reactor>BansheeJackpot
You run for the panic room. Most of the building seems to be abandoned at this point. The fire consumes most of the walls and large chunks of concrete routinely fall as the siege tanks pound away.Charlie opens the panic room's door and you step in. The woman's face goes white as she recognizes you.>"You... You're the one who did this.">"I don't have time to explain. I am here to save you. Come with me if you want your children to live.">"Like hell I will!"The girls hide behind the woman who pulls out a sidearm. You don't have much time to try and talk her out of this. >1 Try and calmly talk her down.>2 Explain that you-It's around this time when you realize the adjutant was offering suggestions. For whatever reason you've already punched her across the face and knocked her out cold. No time to think on it, however.>"Charlie. Chef... marine... Get the girls. We need to get out of here."You leave the ruined building as it shudders in on itself, on the verge of collapse. The large lawn, once green and well kept, is full of craters and parts of Lakas' security guards. The dropship lands at a slope and everyone barrels in. You leave the scene just as the rebel forces break down the wall and storm the mansion in waves. You make for orbit and warp drives are charged. Within a single jump you will be back aboard the Daluke.
>>26111184lets make sure the family is kept secure and apart from the general crew of the Daluke, but also treated fairly
((I think I'm going to end it here since the thread died down a good deal. I'm not sure if I want to do these earlier or later in the day yet so not sure when I'll be doing the next one 'tomorrow', so keep an eye on the twitter. I might do it around 17:00 4chan time, uh, today I guess, but it's the weekend so I also might actually play starcraft because mech terran is best terran and I need to practice.))
>>26111184confine the family to quarters for the time being. Introduce the new Chef to his place of work and leave Charlie to help him acclimatize to his new job...Then we can get a debriefing of how the work is going on Murric.
>>26111221alls good Adjy, was a long run today, and I gotta say, with my timezone, I prefer a later start, but whatever is comfortable for you is best
>>26111221((Will we get a chance to recruit more hero ghosts or spectres in the future?))
>>26111256((Yes.>>26111241Later's usually better cuz grownups get off work. Problem is that it doesn't last very long before people die off.))
So we've decapitated the leadership and thrown the planet into chaos. Let's hope they recover before the zerg invasion, eh. Also, the broodmother's seemingly random attack pattern intrigues me. Is she after something in particular? Also, what abilities does Enrique have?
>>26111498they are still on a war footing, so they should have the military capacity to hold off the Zerg. I doubt they will be bickering over who is in charge when the Zerg are at the gates....
>>26111585You give them far too much credit. Anyway, we need to crunch the data and see what the zerg brood is like in terms of size and capabilities.
>>26111817This makes me want to execute someone for treason with a Widow mine.
>>26111817Oh lawdy those widow mine fails
