Your Codename is Delta Phoenix. You received a transmission from Korhal. "The Emperor is Dead. Long live the Emperor. "It seems like a lifetime since the fall of Korhal disabled your neural inhibitor and you went rogue. With the help of a rogue Dominion Marine, Jacob Henderson, you and your small crew secured a Gorgon-Class battlecruiser you now call The Daluke. The Dominion, bounty hunters, and criminal scum alike are all after you with a massive 1.5 billion credit bounty on your head. But they're going to have to earn it, first. You have recruited, killed, or taken the remainder of Phoenix team prisoner. Using an MDF transport you return to the Daluke.Adjutant A.I. online.Autopilot engaged, Commander.
The flight up to the Daluke requires navigation through some serious ship wreckage. Burning halves of battlecruisers, and New Alamo station among them. Charlie regained consciousness at some point and sat up, but has yet to say anything. Whiskey sits at the back of the transport, half covered in darkness, and sharpens his knife. November appears to be playing some sort of game on his hacking equipment, and will occasionally curse in his thick accent. You radio the Bridge. >"Daluke Actual, this is Delta Phoenix. I'm in orbit and requesting clearance to dock.">"Clearance granted. Proceed to bay four."You can either talk to Charlie now, or give her some time to cool off in the Brig.

Several rounds hit to your left and send mud flying. >"We've lost Gamma! Oh god, we lost Gamma!"You reach the mound of dirt and duck behind it. Delta's taking cover to your left, Alpha on the right.>"Seven on the left. You feel Delta's hand on your shoulder.>"We're not leaving you behind. -I'm- not leaving you behind.">"Marines are inbound!"You look around the mound of dirt you're using as cover. You sit at the edge of your bed. You should be asleep, but you can't. Your bed creaks, Delta sat down next to you. You can't see her in the dark, but you can sense her before she whispers.>"You alright, Charlie?"You try to open your mouth to say yes, but nothing comes out. >"It's alright. Everything else is a distant memory compared to this. You step into the briefing room with the rest of Phoenix squad. Zeta and Alpha sit at the front. Commander Dyson stands behind his podium.>"Morning. I've got your briefings prepared. You're going to be on split deployments. The Zerg attacks have us spread thin at the moment so you're needed everywhere. You open the file. You're going on a solo mission to Umoja to assassinate a councilman, no support, the only team on the operation is already MIA. This is basically suicide...You look to Delta, she's already read your thoughts. "No, Don't do it, Delta!">"Commander, if I may, my mission's more suited to another member of the Team. Anyone can take out a rogue battlecruiser. You've got Charlie on a zero-support mission, though. I'd like to request a trade.">"Chhhhh'damnit, Delta. >>25954600d'awwwWell, I guess Charlie's probably going to be loyal then. Or there'll be a curveball at some point.
You are in the dark of one of the maintenance shafts. The only one you've found to not be bugged. This is where you've been planning your escape since you were kids. >"This isn't just about you, Charlie.">"Like hell it isn't. You don't think I can do this!">"Records indicate Migar might know something about who I am. Where I'm from. There's too much covered up here for someone with my access. They're -hiding- something about him from us.">"You're just being paranoid.">"It comes with the job. Just... be careful out there, alright? Once our missions are done we're too split up. I'll transmit Coordinates to you as soon as I can. We'll rendezvous and make for the fringe worlds.">"Is... is this really going to work?">"Might be our only shot."The memory flashes forwards. You're on the bridge of the Teron. Bodies of dissenting crew lay all around you. You sit at the comm center. You wait for those Coordinates. And you wait...And you wait...And it doesn't come. The message doesn't come. Delta doesn't contact you. >"Alpha to Charlie, come in. We've lost contact with Delta, but we're regrouping. Head to my location.">"All ships... prepare to jump to my Coordinates. We're going home."

I just thought- For all that time - I thought-"You draw your combat knife and cut her free.>"Even forgetting my promise doesn't mean I didn't keep it in the end."Whiskey comes in over the speakers.>"If you're done bonding we're coming aboard the Daluke now, Delta."You take your crew to the Bridge. You step past a few marines with combat scars over their CMC. The XO gives the new ghosts a suspicious look before he begins speaking.>"Sir. We lost 9 marines, 6 medics, and 6 firebats in total, across all boarding actions. No ships. Murric doesn't have a death toll for us yet, but they lost New Alamo. I have to admit, though, no one here knows your name, Commander.">Awaiting input...

>>25955815No..just no..Really though this is our shot to make some very big friends on this planet. Also a chance to get some highly trained people on our ship.Let's do our best to NOT fuck this up please?
>>25955815If we had simply taken down one cruiser, it would have been enough. If we had disrupted their ground operations, it would have been enough. etc.
>>25955793In return for a few things of course...All of dat political power
>>25955837Don't ask for it. We'll get it either way.Asking would be rude.
Don't tell them a name. I'm getting real tired of the moniker Delta Phoenix anyway.
>"My name was taken from me by the Dominion a very long time ago when I became a ghost. I am Commander Phoenix."You offer your hand. She takes it over-enthusiastically and shakes.>"Well how do you do, Mister Commander Phoenix!">"Miss, actually."The woman tilts her head, slightly, and offers you a coy smile.>"Well I'll be. Miss Phoenix. I have requested you here today for a couple reasons. The first is that I wanted to get a complete roster of the crew you lost. We're going to be constructing a memorial to the fallen in Nuyark square. The second is that I need to know who your commanding officers and heroes were, as we'll need to organize the ceremony of service.">"Ceremony?">"Of course! We'll be handing out medals like candy, darlin'. Your people are heroes here. >>25955882Man we really do need to work on figuring out our officers.
>>25955882Let's just keep standing
>>25955856Well see how the conversation progresses. If she doesn't offer anything, we'll have to ask. I think a statute of the Daluke with a memorial wall of the lost, plus a governorship of one of the lesser populated continents for ourself would be a good start.
My men would appreciate the medals. As for myself I'd have to refuse. The Dominion wants me for far more then the actions I have preformed today and letting my name and face go out will merely attract more of them.

>>25955939You are the CO, commander. You have an XO.
>>25955882Also, I'm thinking we should change our formal rank to Commodore, sounds cooler.

>>25955963That title is only for battle-cruiser commanders.

You remain standing, which you sense obviously confuses the president, but at no point does she reveal this. >"I'm a ghost. I don't get medals. But I'll have a list of the fallen and my men for you.">"Oh now, don't think like that. You're not a ghost any more.">"Trust me. You don't want the attention that comes with a rogue ghost.">"Alright, hon. Suit yourself. Now, there's the next issue I need to bring up, and I hate to do this, but without your ship we're basically sittin' ducks. >>25956012I am willing to stay here for a little while in return for pay and access to military schematics. It will give me a chance to recoup from the losses I suffered as well as help my people get some R&R.

>>25956012"While I haven't consulted my commanders in-depth, I personally see many reasons to stay here and assist you and the Murrican people Madame President. However, if you could provide additional reasons, I would be able to relate them to my men and streamline the decision-making process."

>>25956063'Some' land, pft. They can do much better than that. Also Adj. what other bodies are in this solar system? Maybe we can nab a moon or asteroid base.
>>25956035Yes, we'll do as much as we can afford to.However, my crew comes first.
>>25956040It is our responsibility too. With some transport ships and men, we could go to a few planets to mine minerals and gas and return with the cargo while leaving the battle cruiser behind to help defend.
>>25956093Good question...wonder if it's all mined up yet.
>>25956093Murric has one moon with no available minerals or Vespene. There is a barren rocky planet close to the sun with mineral and vespene deposits. There is a desert planet with no life, minerals, or vespene. There is a blue gas giant composed of Hydrogen, Caslon, and Nitrogen. It is visible at night from the surface of Murric. There was a listening station there that was destroyed by the Dominion assault.I am detecting no other relevant celestial bodies at this time.
>>25956073Adjutant, can we have a damage report on the planet itself? What assets does Murric still have standing, population and cities, all of that?
>There is a barren rocky planet close to the sun with mineral and vespene deposits. Is it hazardous to mine here?
>>25956135How close to the sun we talking? "Man that is bright" close or "OH GOD MY FLESH IS BURNING FROM THE INSIDE OF THE SHIP!" close?
>>25956135Hm...will we need shielding from radiation to mine that rocky planet?
>>25956147Murric authorities have yet to report total infrastructure damage and civilian casualties.Land-based Muric defenses are estimated to be at 82% of original garrison. There are zero orbital defenses at this time, with the exception of Screaming Eagles 6-10.>>25956153Solar radiation may pose a hazard to surface operations.
>>25956159"Terminal cancer in .5 years without proper solar shielding" close, commander.
>>25956135Hmm, I think we should ask for a base on the moon and mining rights on the rocky planet in return for a defence contract. The moon base will be ours, but if we add some bug-ass guns and a shipyard, it'll make protecting Murric far easier.

>>25956493we don't do that
>>25956447"Yes ma'am.Moving on, are you fine folks doing anything with that moon or interior rocky planet?"
>>25956504Why not? Do you want us to lose?
>>25956447After reading the dark templar series which perfectly explains how resoccing works I kind of don't want to do that. We could look into psionic reversal of our own resoc process if we have time when we are a bit stronger psionically.
>>25956516We only resoc for training, not for personality alteration.
>>25956135Murrikans should look into bases on the OH GOD IT' SHOT world, and so should we.QUIETLY. If we are going all in, may as well leave some hidden assets to assfuck any dominion forces that arrive.also, we need to send both valkryies to the city world we helped lioberate and see if they cna help-They still had an orbitla platform, a battlecruiser, and a bunch of cpatured dominion assets on hand when we left, as well as excess population. They need food and space for refugees, murrika needs industry, hardware, and new workers to replace the millions of dead-And we've got two jump capable frigates to provide escort/patrol duties, a hercules, good relations with both planets, and a match literally made in heaven.
>>25956516Because we agreed to>No resoc, no zerg, no children. When we recruited... whiskey?
>>25956537That was a terrible thing we agreed to. Not worth it at all.Just resoc.
>>25956447"No. I don't do resoc.""About that spaceport... can it construct orbital sattelite turrets and mag mine launchers? We need to get a defense grid in orbit as soon as possible."((I mean the shit in the mission "With Friends Like These" in HoTS))
>"I don't plan to use Resoc for anything I don't have to. Just the POWs who are going to go rogue.">"Ahh, I see. Darlin', ain't much to this, but your ship only engaged the battlecruisers. Any Dominion who went rogue got off this planet a long time ago. Most of those POWs are resocced, and we're going to be undoing the process once we've used the tanks for training our own marines."
>>25956558Oh, hey, time for us to practice psi on undoing resoc
"No, I won't be doing that. Applicable POWs will be given a choice. Serve under my command, or continue towards their fate in you and your government's hands. To face whatever punishment you and yours see fit. Now, onto other issues. I'm going to require your planet's moon. In addition to 'New New Alamo', which is a terrible name, by the by, I'm going to be constructing a shipyard and adjacent facilities on the lunar surface. With additional defensive batteries, this will increase your planets, and the system at large's, stellar capabilities."
>>25956558"I see, mind if I talk to them after the process is done? Some may wish to help me out instead of stay here."
>>25956548>"Don't you worry about the defenses we're building, none. I've got backing to cut everything from healthcare to education to get it good enough that this doesn't happen ever again."
>>25956565no your scum
Adjutant, are there any asteroids in the system that we can tow into Murrica orbit, hollow out and turn into a defense station?
>>25956582>"Sure, I bet plenty of them have a bone to pick with the Dominion. But just remember, most of 'em are gonna be criminals."
>>25956565if you want good reasons why not to?Resocialized soldiers possess little or no initiative, often react poorly to changing battlefield conditions and tend to lack the depth of personality one might find in an ordinary human. Unique talents and expertise are largely wiped away.
>>25956535To add ot this:Escort skilled workers fleeign form NOT CORUSCANT to NOT AMERICA with valkryies, arrnage for one smaller jump capable ship to remain in either system.Establish mutual defense pact, if one world is attacked the BC form the other comes to assist.MURRIKA gives refuges land, sends food supplies, and any surviving orbital control personnel to help with the whole ACCIDENT EVERY SIX FUCKING MINUTES deal.Should work nicely, and provides us with another cruiser for backup if we get hit again.Volunteers form both worlds, too, i'm sure.
>>25956586And your a pusy that doesnt do what needs to be done.Stop trying to sabotage the quest and resoc them
>>25956593Murric does not have significant asteroid fields.Debris of the Aeron, Teron, and Phoenix One are still in orbit, however.
>>25956597does not brother me

>>25956602That was six accidents every minute.
>>25956606commence salvage operations
>>25956600We don't need humans, we need soldiers.Who gives a fuck if they have no initiative? They just need to shut up and follow orders.
>>25956606Tow those onto the planet's moon to be used as raw materials in the construction of our moon base.
>>25956600They also have no judgement skills at all."DP IS A TRAITOR FIRE" isn't a conflicting order to one of them. Immediate superior said it, time to start shooting. Also we're stupid and can't handle having stupid underlings.
Should we mention the AI we have that might be able to be repurposed to harvest resources on the planet close to the sun?
>>25956643no one trusts AI.
>>25956627you don't know a whole lot about warfare
>>25956621Exactly.And it's not like we need our Valkyries to do anything else right now, so- fix them, load with diplomats and a marine detail, and off they go.Also send mia. That cruiser crew loves her.
>>25956643No. Why should we tell everyone all of our secrets.
>>25956643Not until we actually have done the repurpossing. Also, we don't need to bother with resocced or desocced marines, we can just train new ones or recruit from the MDF. Or the marine contingents from the Aeron. Also, we need medics. Those can't get resocced.
>>25956627Soldiers need initiative, they're literally useless without it. A lack of it is a huge part of why arab and african armies are so easily smashed.
>>25956652The fact that you said that shows that YOU are infact the one who doesn't know anything about warfare.

Must be a lack of initiative. They probably got resoc'd by the warlords. If you actually believe that, get help...
>>25956682but we'd need money for that....
>>25956668>initiative>not lack of technology and infrastructureYeah, I guess it takes no initiative to go into a village and cut arms off of people. Initiative and will is all they have. If they had numbers and technology, the western world would be fucked.
>>25956715Loading relevant audio file:>"No Resoc. I need to remember. No children. No using Zerg as a weapon. You order any of these and I will put you down personally, Delta."
>>25956718>He thinks our soldiers would be doing line battle
>>25956718((Can I be a smartass and use bronze-league bioballs as an example?))
>>25956711Why? It can't operate in deep space or fire on other ships. The reason the Valkyries are going is so they don't get jumped by pirates. They may take the time to FIND a pilot, however, or any recently disposed pilots that ejected after the battle over the city world, and bring them back. They'l liekly be there a bit.We need murric government representatives on board, mind you. this can't be done unilaterally.Don't' forget video of us rushing the siege tank line+ testimony form the BC we saved to convince them we're FUCKING awesome and worth working with.
>>25956760Fuck that guy. He wants to hold us back? Cut him loose
>>25956760Yeah, it's clear the "No resoc" applies to HIM ONLY. Anyway, do we need to bother with resocced marines? They're second rate.
>>25956794Oh yay, people are being greedy again...This is my favorite part of Ghost quest.
>>25956729the Murric Gov could help with that
>>25956785......read that post again, he was asking the moron who thinks no-initiative is a good thing to show him modern tactics\strategies that favor that mindset.
>>25956831the whole "You order any of these and I will put you down personally, Delta" bit makes me think it applies to everyone, and I'd want to ask him to be sure about it
>>25956804>>25956831No, fuck no. Get the hell out. Being greedy is what fucked us over many times in the past. We aren't going to be greedy with this.
You decide you'll vote on it when it's actually an issue, and depart from the President's office. The Black Earl returns you to the bridge of the Daluke.Repairs are currently underway, but all Valkyries and Dropships are jump-capable.Which options should we consider at this time, Commander?>Donate resources to Murric's reconstruction.>Send teams to new Albuquerque for pilots or schematics.>Send transports and escorts to Kilario to bring back skilled workers.
>>25956721Which is why multiple nations have attacked israel with technology that was on par with, or superior to, theirs, along with overwhelming numbers, and been utterly crushed due to doctrinal differences on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS.You're stupid. We're having Mac look over it. Hopefully his engineering prowress covers software as well as hardware.
Engineer Guyver's report on A.I. SCVs is ready:>"They're slower, but they can mine, and they don't have to worry about cancer or extreme radiation. I might have a better solution, though. We can use the Nomad to drill underground and have a base in one of the planetary cave systems, and use those for mining. It's... kind of risky, though. Too much mining and the whole thing can collapse."I have November Phoenix's report ready:>"Lot of old code here. What is this, Broodwars tech? Yeah, we can do it. Any pilot that gets near enough to drop them off might have a bad time though. I suggest we wait for solar shielding or mine somewhere else."
>>25956975>MiningHow much can we SAFELY acquire?
>>25956975Can't put them in a drop pod and fire it at the planet?
>>25956975Could we remotely send a dropship to drop them off? Doesn't need to be AI, just remote controlled. In regards to the cave system thing, what do you propose we do if we did mine there? Could we have an early warning system in-case?
>>25956975Let's not risk it. There's plenty of resources elsewhere, we just need to find them first.
>>25956994>"Couple thousand units of minerals, maybe."

>>25956999How would we get the minerals back...? Could we rig remote AI up to the Nomad? That could mine and then return the minerals to us.
>>25957037We are not able to remotely control dropships at this time.
>>25957037If anything, we could drop them off when it is 'night' on that planet and send them off to mine in the baking sun.
>>25957017could we make him aware of them and provide feedback on the plan?

>>25956975could we put an AI in a dropship to ferry things between the dead planet and a relay station a safe distance away?
>>25957049Repeat exposures to complete solar radiation at that distance would cause significant damage to the Nomad's sensitive systems.
>>25956975Alright I think we can do the automated SCV idea. As for transport remote controlled dropships.

>>25958333that... doesn't actually answer my question.
>>25958304Have you no sense of adventure? Clearly this is a resourceful man and we should get to know him.
>>25958346Because LAWL TREASURE I guess?I stopped trying to understand.
>>25958346We apparently already met this guy. we are apparently very brand loyal.
>>25958358he tried to kill a space station full of civvies. No I don't want to get to know him.
>>25958368last time we tryed to kill him
hmm, I wonder if Kilaro is offering a bounty on him.
>>25958368His crew defected to us, btw, surely they have some input on who the fuck he is and why they were in such a hurry to defect?
You, Whiskey, Charlie, and November make for the coordinates - a small, dingy Saloon in the city. You see the mentioned captain sitting alone at the bar in an otherwise populated and noisy establishment. >"Captain James Raven."He turns around, and looks at the four ghosts in turn. He then offers a big smile.>"Come to collect the bounty 'ave ya? Well I surrender. Won't even give you an ounce of trouble. I am woefully repentant for all the wrongs I have-">"We're here for the job."Whiskey didn't seem too interested in double-crossing him, and you hope he's paying more than a bounty would.>"Ah, yes! Treasure abounds, mates! Riches undreamt of! Mineral deposits so vast and blinding that they will... blind you... vastly, I suppose.">"Wot's tha' mission, lad?">"Right. Let me throw you a hypothetical. Let's say these treasures are... locked away. We don't have the key, so we can't open whatever it is we don't have that it unlocks. So what purpose would be served in finding whatever it is need be unlocked - which we don't have - without first finding the key what unlocks it?">"So we're going after a key?">"You're not making any sense, love. No! We're taking a Dominion encryption expert hostage, comprende?">"We're attacking a Dominion target?">"You lot have the craziest ideas. No, no. He's gone rogue. He's hiding... here... in this... very... bar.~"You look over your shoulder, there are a large number of individuals present. Any one of them could be your target.>"What's his name?">"Dunno, love.">"What's he look like.">"Actually, not sure it's a he.">"How do you know he's even here?">"I have ways! Now, how do we go about catching our rapscallious encryptologist?">Awaiting input...
Also would someone mind checking the Thread page we're on? It's been a while
>>25958421Consult the Black Earl's crew

>>25958443Telepathy, start scanning minds.Have the other ghosts watch the exits, especially the exits that are good for a quick or subtle escape, in case the encryption expert gets cagey and bugs out.
>>25958443"If you know he's here, you have some way of detecting his activity. Probably some tracer program. Give it to November and he'll pinpoint the target for you."
>>25958505IF HE TURNS ON US, I WARNED YOU BROS.I WARNED YOU.
>>25958443You'd think that we could just use November...
>>25958533I think he might be talking about November.
>>25958533That's plan B
>>25958443Wait, Dominion encryption expert gone rogue? November?
>>25958533He does seem like he would fit the bill.
>>25958443Gotta hand it to you, QM, you've nailed Jack Sparrow down perfectly. He's just the slimy, evasive, irritating bastard I remember from the movies.
>>25958494You search his thoughts, first. He has no intention of betraying you but his thoughts are incredibly scattered and erratic. The Dominion has a bounty on him and it's much smaller than yours, so you don't think trying to collect is a good idea, although bugging out is always an option. You signal the rest of your squad to block the exits, and you sift through the crowd, filtering out the thoughts of multiple drunks, pickpockets, mercenaries, and other generally pleasant folks. You make your way up the stairs to the second floor, slowly. You detect another Psionic, curiously enough. A fat-ish man with a mustache furiously working at a computer terminal. You sense a few thoughts about some sort of ghost program, and inbound dominion specialists, when he senses you back. He makes a break for it and jumps - tumbles rather - over the railing to the first floor. >1 "Whiskey, stop him!">2 "Charlie, stop him!">3 "November, stop him!"
>>25958612"Everyone, stop him!"
>>25958612Jump on him.

>>25958692It's too bad the crazy people wanted to murder him.
Charlie is a sniper, so her build isn't really for quick takedowns.Neither is November, he's our hacker.Whiskey is simply the best choice by default I guess.

>>25958811EfficientI like itPersonal Note Adjutant: Do not call Charlie Phoenix a bitch in the future.
Also note Charlie is still slipping into Mission Mode. We might wanna help her with that.
>>25958857It was one of the bar patrons who did that.
>>25958856Yes, but for once adjutant decided to let smart people have our way, since we virtually ALWAYS lose votes.

You continue down a back alley for some ways until the noise dims. >"Well done, love. Regular knockout. Now, onto business."Raven saunters over to the man and kneels down.>"I can assume you are Big Daddy Bison one three three seven, yes?">"Raven, you got all you'll get out of me, you slimy backwoods pirate. I knew you'd turn me in to the Dominion!">"Slimy and backwoods though I am, Dominion Lapdog I am not. These fine apparitions are but mercenaries in my valuable employ. Now I need the codes to the station, and you are going to give them to me.">"Fine, they're on a disk in my front jacket. I hope you get what's comin' to you for thinking this is a good idea, Raven..">"Of course I will, it -is- a good idea! Ciao, Bison. You might need to get that leg looked at."The man hobbles off in pain. You look to Raven.>"Well then, laddies and ladies. To my ship!"You follow behind him, but the urge to ask about your mission overwhelms November.>"What exactly are you after, Raven?">"Oh, some Minerals, a bit of Vespene gas, some training schematics. It's all rather mundane I assure you."He's clearly with-holding something. You sense bits and pieces, but he doesn't seem to fully understand it himself. Just that it could be worth a lot of money to the right people.Eventually you come up on a guild-wars era dropship. >"This is your ship?">"No, my ship was commandeered by a mutinous crew and their pirate compatriots. I had to eject before they killed me so mercilessly in the depths of space. Instead, we are heading to a cloaked platform in orbit around this silly planet for a very, very important starmap.">Loading...
>>25959008Oh yes, I remember that.
>>25959008Out of idle curiosity, what's the bounty on Big Daddy Bison? And would he consider joining up with us if we don't choose to turn him in? We could send some of our ground force to round him up easily.
>>25958938We told everyone to do it you retard. she just happened to be closest and acted first.
>>25959045Use of excessive force on operative Beta Bison means it is unlikely he will join us at this time. The Dominion offers the bounty of 1.7 Million at this time.Tactical Advisement: It is unadvised we accept Dominion bounties at this time.

>>25959073Would it be possible to do a proxy acception of a dominion bounty?
>>25959073>Tactical Advisement: It is unadvised we accept Dominion bounties at this time. That would be an awkward conversation at the bounty officeHeres a thought, if we go bounty hunting, and get a lowly crewmember of ours to hand in and collect the bounty, whats the chances of the dominion catching on?
>>25959093bad idea. Baaaaad idea.

>>25959116agreed, offer medical care.
>>25959106((You didn't. People said tell everyone. You told everyone. She was closest. Why do you even care it's like 12 posts ago and the outcome would be the same any which way, it was just a chance at some characterization for your ghosts.))

>>25959073We could take him into custody. For his own protection, he'd understand. There's a high bounty on him, and it would be a shame if he were to be dumped in front of some Dominion marshal's office. We could even heal his leg with one of our medics, and offer him opportunities to hide from the Dominion on a well-defended, independent planet. If he won't accept, well, we can keep him in a cell til he rots. No biggie.
