http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Ghost%20QuestYou were a ghost operative of the Terran Dominion, under Emperor Arcturus Mengsk. Your Codename is Delta Phoenix. You received a transmission from Korhal. "The Emperor is Dead. Long live the Emperor. " That was a very long time ago. Since then you have lost crew members, killed innocent people, and for what? A battlecruiser the size of a moon and a small army? You lost your suit trying to help Rebels fight the dominion on Kilaro, and you're trapped in the Medbay until you recover. It's up to you to order your men around the planet, alone. You hope you can at least keep some of them alive...
>>25852526I'm noticing DP grow more and more depressed as we go along...It's like she knows half of her brain is retarded.
>>25852526QUICK HENDERSON, JUMP OUT OF THAT AIRLOCK AND FIGHT SOME PIRATES
We go to Mac to talk about the situation surrounding our suitBefore all else we find something to wear inconspicuously before we set out. Before we leave we call Dr.Lee to contact the XO for us and prep a team to the Jakibs installation.
You already decided on your orders. Time to carry them out. >Send a landing team to the Jakibs installation.>"Doctor... Page the XO, tell him to dispatch a ground team to the Jakibs installation. They need to find scientists, engineers, anyone that will join us.">"Sir."You lay in the bed. Unaware of the deployment. Unaware of the chances of success. Unaware of anything. The pain isn't the biggest thing. Your conditioning puts you well past it. Not knowing is something you can't stand. You sit up in the bed, You're dressed in typical patient gown. You see a nearby mirror, and decide to inspect the damage.>How do you look?
>>25852526If we can't even make decent decisions we can't keep these people alive.Ceed command to someone else, go off on our own to live in isolation.
>>25852573...you're asking us?Um...well I assume we look alright, despite our rough time.Picturing short brown hair, and green eyes, for the record.
>>25852573Like a ghost.
>>25852573well toned but not without a few scars here or there, be they knife wounds, bullet pockmarks or small las/plasma burns
>>25852573A battered and bruised woman whose face looks like the embodiment of regret
>>25852573were flat because we got our boobs chopped off during training
>>25852573Pretty thin and tallish, atheletic and flexible all that good shit.Doubt we have a very large chest or backside...
>>25852573Tall, short black hair, flat chest, wiry as can be. Would be considered cute if not for the mess of scars covering our body and face and the sunken emotionless look in our brown eyes.
>>25852599they did not, the dominion does not do this to any personnel, so stop pushing it, you are retarded
well toned, not too curvy. Brown hair and green eyes.
>>25852573>from one shitstorm straight on to anothershort blonde hair.green eyestoned body with scarslight skin.
>>25852573We have small breasts that definitely were not chopped off during training because that's retarded. Our face is... attractive, maybe? We've never been in a position to judge that kind of thing.
>>25852599Damn it anon, we're not an amazon!
>>25852611female ghosts tend to be rather attractive, purely because they win the genetic lottery to get psionics, good genes are a side affect
>>25852620I'm trying to shoot for something of a disconnect between DP's self-perception and the reflection she sees, as well as bias about it. But I suck at that so, eh.
I'm gonna say when we fix our suit/get a new one, it should look like pic
>>25852620Are you saying male ghosts aren't? Because Tosh was pretty damn good looking.
>>25852647...Huh, I'm game for that
>>25852647If we get a new/fixed suit.
>>25852649To be fair, we never see male ghost faces. Tosh was a Spectre.
>>25852647I'm liking this.>this probably is a stalling for time while adjy figures out how he/she/it is going to proceed.
>>25852647maybe minus the boob window... not that I don't appreciate it but if anyone shoots us there ouch.
>>25852649not saying that at all, they tend to be buff handsome 'quarterback' type physiquespretty much, to get psionics, you win the genetic lottery so you look good no matter what, whether time or individual history has an impact...
>>25852647Where the fuck are we gonna get one?The dominion doesn't exactly sell these suits at a premium and they're too advanced for some backwater nation to make
You look into the mirror, past the ghosts of the dead that haunt you. Your eyes are... blue? No, green. Your hair ... blonde... red... No, Brown. You're a brunette. You're tall. Taller than most men. Lithe. Dextrous. Training does that. You're not very... endowed. Are you? No, that wouldn't make sense. Are you attractive? You wouldn't know. But Alpha Phoenix, he always said you were... Part of you misses your squad. You wish you could remember... What did he look like?It doesn't matter. This face doesn't matter. It's not you. It's not what you are. You need your suit. You hobble over to the comm and page main Engineering.>"I need someone to get me Mac."
>>25852666we shouldnt be getting ourselves into situations where we would get shot
>>25852666Overly large boobs WOULD interfere with accuracy, I think. Probably
>>25852647maybe we should see if are new suit could get made with some toss help
>>25852662Former ghost, I doubt that going spectre would change his sexy level.
>>25852690If we do get Protoss help, pray that they include a shield with it.
>>25852688I can tell you that they do not, I shoot against 2 rather blessed ladies and they can usually outshoot me when it comes to accuracy competitions
>>25852694Oh, he was? Didn't know that actually.
>>25852690+1 Thats why I want the sabbatical to that DT planet. Get a protoss tech ghost suit? that'd be awesome. and now we have a reason to try it.
>>25852696o god we could us one
>>25852701As far as I'm aware, ALL specters are former ghosts.
>>25852701all spectres are ghosts... they are just rogue and undergo different procedures to become spectres
>>25852698Oh, really?Huh, I guess Amazons were crazy then.
>>25852710the entire cut a boob off was a myth.
>>25852701Spectres were a failed attempt at impoving ghost productivity/power.It failed because the spectres apparently had a sadistic homocidal streak after spectre training.
>>25852710thats dealing with a Bow and Arrow, very different to any for of firearm
We're kinda having a moment right now, Adjy, but I wanted to say when we got a chance, to assign certain low level decisions to our XO and maybe even Henderson, in certain cases.Goodness knows they're smart as we are at the very least. If not way more.
>>25852647Really bad idea.
>>25852731((It's almost like removing the suit adjutant forced you to do that. But that would be railroading and I'm an American.God bless Jesus.))
>>25852701The spectre program, Project Shadowblade, I know cheesy name, was an offshoot of the ghost program intended to enhance ghosts.
>>25852680>"Sir, uh, yeah, heard you called for me?">"How is my suit, Mac.">"I, um. Well, I'm not an expert at this sort of thing and you -reaaaally- need to understand that, but...">"Mac. Suit." >"Right. Well I've repaired what I think are the psionic muscle fibers. Think I've repaired. Think they're psionic muscle fibers. The HUD is damaged, we can repair it with some more advanced interfaces, but I don't have it right now. Then, the uh - I'm not sure actually. It's like... do you have some kind of Psionic capacitor?">"Stealth reactor?">"Maybe. It's cracked. I can seal it but I don't know if it will work.">"And the Adjutant connection?">"There's a-... I have no idea, Sir."You end the communication. Not as bad as you feared. Not as good as you hoped. What that conversation means... you don't know yet.>Waiting...
>>25852749Oh boy. Here we fucking go again.
>>25852749Heh, well I wanted to do it more permanently anyway, even after we get a new suit....we are getting a new suit right?
>>25852749It isn't railroading to assign consequences to horrible ideas.
>>25852769((Hey, you'll be so used to it by the time it happens that you won't even remember the days you had to hand-pick marines and they were more than just numbers to you.))
>>25852762>Waiting...For fucking what?
>>25852762So maybe...50% broke. Well...it could definitely be worseWearing it...might be dangerous. We don't know if that suit leaks radiation or something else nasty...so let's not put it on for now.
>>25852777((The world to change.Me to type the next part))
>>25852762Whelp! we're going to have to find a Dominion Ghost training/research facility, assault the fucker and steal all the schematics and data now...Also, Did our Rifle survive?
>>25852762I miss our Adjutant. Can we... go to the bridge for a... a hug? Please?
>>25852775Well I still want them to be more then just numbers for sure...which is hard with RTS elementsWe should probably stick to picking out the ones that stand out, and celebrating their accomplishments and sacrifices....Sorta what we've been doing so far?
>>25852797I'm vetoing this straight out of the gate. We're not invading a base with shadow ops with a broken suit.
>>25852798We really need a hug now, of all days.
>>25852526((Hey QM I know this is OOC but if you care to give me a toss away email I have a second 4chan pass that I bought if you would care to use it.))
>>25852797>Getting into a dominion ghost academy. Like hell we are.
>>25852811forgot to delete my OP name from another thread.
>>25852762You can't do much in your current state, but you're still in command, and it's still your ship. You need... Your Adjutant. You hit the Comm again.>"Doctor. Bring me a hazardous environment suit.">"Planning on going on a spacewalk in that condition, sir?">"No. I just - Just bring me the suit."You go back to the bed and wait, eventually a nurse enters the room and brings you the suit. It's full-bodied and will hide your face, but it's nothing compared to your old one. You don it, and slowly limp your way to the bridge. You walk past several marines, who offer a brief "Sir" and salute. Barney watches you pass, solemnly, as if he feels somehow responsible for your condition. You make it to the bridge, then reach your Adjutant's platform.>"Do you require assistance, Delta Phoenix?"
>>25852797If there's a Dominion Ghost Academy around, it's going to be in the middle of heavy ground-based defence. Is it worth assaulting such a place just for a suit? Knowing you faggots, you probably would
>>25852811((You would save my life. Let me go figure out my throwaway's password real quick.))
>>25852825Find us a place to fix our damn ghost suit. Also fuck you. Fuckin AI.
>>25852827then we train a bloody ground assault force for the sole purpose of getting us a new suit!Unless of course, you know another way to get new ghost equipment...
>>25852825Report on the groundside ops Adjy.
>>25852847All that for a suit? No. Fuck no.
>>25852825Hold out your arms Adjutant.
>>25852825"How's...how's the crew doing, Adjutant? I need to know. I feel so...naked without my suit."
>>25852825Hug our Adjutant, then slap her in the face for letting us do that
>>25852847Black market would be a better place, and we don't exactly want to pick a fight with the Dominion until we get a bigger fleet and crew.
>>25852847Kill a fellow rogue ghost of course!
>>25852845>>25852847No. You know what? Just no. DP has been depending on her suit's statistics and taking care of everyone lately. She needs to be disconnected for a while, so she can see that her crew CAN handle shit.
>>25852866Chances of the suit surviving intact?Chances that they will even be wearing a Suit? after all, the last two weren't...
>>25852834All good. Just tell me when you have it and i'll toss you my spare. I just love this quest so much.
>>25852866>implying the retards won't get us into trouble voting for fighting a hostile Ghost without our own suit>implying we won't just blow him/her up in the first place
>>25852874We need that suit.
>>25852886What are we? Drug addicts? Suit addicts?
>>25852825Find me a dominion ghost academy
>>25852890Considering we put on a hazard suit, yes, suit addicts.
>>25852845>"Hold out your arms Adjutant."The A.I. complies. You lean in for a hug. The bridge crew doesn't appear to notice as they are monitoring the ground team.>"I need to know if it's possible to have my suit repaired or replaced, and how the ground operation is going."The Adjutant appears to register your request, and takes a moment before responding.>"I have no available information on Psionic repair facilities or production facilities within our range of operation.">"And outside of our range!?">"Missions in Dominion space are available. They would be extremely dangerous.">"What about my gun? Was it damaged?">"No, Commander. The C-20-A is in storage in the armory.">"And the ground team?">"Corporal Winston and the Helldog Mercenary team are on the ground with medic support. They have reported no hostilities. The Jakibs installation is reported as 'relatively untouched'.">Waiting...
>>25852890seeing as while we were under dominion control we were keep running with various cocktails of exotic drugs and mindraep therapyyes, yes we are
>>25852890nah, just a robophile who is in love with her cruel uncaring monster of an Adjutant... she wouldn't even give us a hug!
>>25852874I agree with you. On the other hand, irrationally misplaced blame-giving is a very human reaction. And our Adjutant can take it. She understands us.(But seriously dudes, stop blaming the AI)
>>25852886Not in our command position. We could spend some time out of the suit and experience the weakness felt by the common man
We need to find the DT. he can help
>>25852909We need to go to that installation. It's the only gamble we have for equipment to fix our suit.
>>25852925This is a good idea.
>>25852909Find me a scientist and an engineer within the installation who has dealt with Psionic technology
>>25852909You head to the bridge, and look over the shoulder of a crewman who appears to be watching the shoulder-mounted camera of Tyrone Winston.>Continue to watch.>I have other things I need to do...
>>25852942Continue to watch
>>25852909 Ignore the Ai here in the latter part. I'm still voting of going back to the protoss planet and ask for help/training/teaching there. We are psionic so we have a higher chance of proper communication than the average human. We could ask Henderson to lead the battlecruiser here and take the wraith to there alone.
>>25852925HA, he might as well teach us how to bend light around ourselves and use psyblades
You know of all the relationships I've seen roll across the depths of 4chan this is the most amusing. >I have other things I need to do...Lets sell what we can and buy what we can.
>>25852942>Continue to watch.
>>25852909D'aw...well now isn't that sweet.Good, see? Henderson and the gang clearly have this. We don't gotta be there for all of it. That's part of what being the Commander is good for.Of course, I still like being there for certain things...but I'd rather not spend 2 more threads deciding EXACTLY how many marines to build...I'd rather spend one vote deciding whether we blow up the enemy stronghold from the front or back. Or both
>>25852942>Continue to WatchJust for a moment, to see what Tyrone is doing. Then it's off to brood more.
>>25852909Adjutant may not love us any more, but at least we can hug now.>>25852942Continue to watch. And yeah, definitely not going to any dominion base or ghost academy for new suit. Surely even the dumbest of voters cans see what a fucking terrible idea that is, right?
>>25852976thats exactly why they are voting for it.
maybe with the 300k credits we have incoming we can hire someone to look for Ghost Suits on the black market.
>>25852976>Surely even the dumbest of voters cans see what a fucking terrible idea that is, right?Oh Anon.
>>25852942((Just toss me that email when you're ready OP))
>>25852982I think we should take a backseat for now, guysnot permanently of course, but...DP has seriously had a bad case of "I CAN DO IT, JUST WAIT" lately. I think she needs to be a real commander: By delegating, and sitting back in the comfy ship.We can look for a suit while we handle the other major decisions that need to take place.
>>25852976you are so naive
>>25853000yeah...I just miss the suit.
>>25852976They got us into this predicament and they'll happily dig us deeper and deeper until we finally receive the blessing of an inglorious death. Probably when they decide that trying to make a Thor fall over by wrapping wire coming from the back of a vulture around its feet to make it fall over is a good idea.
>>25853020That's a fantastic idea though!/sarcasm
>>25853020At least Henderson will be our main character, if those idiots don't accidentally him first
You continue to watch and listen. The squad is moving through the pathways of a rather nice looking university.>"Aww. No sign of her anywhere around here.">"Talking about your Auntie, Tyrone?">"You know it, Bossman! I'm startin' to think somethin' bad might have happened.">"This place isn't so bad, and you said it yourself, she's a tough old lady.">"Yeah, I guess.">"Speaking of tough old ladies, my friend Keith's grandma used to run C-14's for the Blackmoon consortium back when they ran weapons, right? Of course back then they didn't allow anyone to use ->"Elliot, baby, you gotta stop doin' that."No sign of the woman, that's unfortunate. But you have your own problems. >Wander the ship, lost and aimless.>Head to main engineering. See just how bad your suit is.
>>25853020Why did that make me picture AT-ATs and Star Wars?
First see our suit, then wander.
>>25853047lets instead do what we came here to do. SELL THOSE SUPPLIES!
>>25853042But Henderson's the kind of larger-than-life character that doesn't work as well when they're plot-important IMO. Plus, too attached to DP now for that.
>>25853047>Wander the ship, lost and aimless.
>>25853047>Head to main engineering. See just how bad your suit is.I've got to go now, I sincerely hope we don't die while I'm away.
>>25853047>Head to main engineering. See just how bad your suit is.
>>25853047>Head to Main EngineeringMay as well see the damage for ourself.
>>25853047Wander around the shipWe have never fully explored our own ship in depth before
>>25853047>Head to main engineering. See just how bad your suit is.coming to terms with it is a bitch but needs to be done.couldn't we just copy the ships adjutant?
>>25853071Chances are, the retards will make us eat the suit to somehow merge with it.
>>25853060((Sent off QM)) Enjoy
>>25853086It's the perfect plan. You probably thought I was serious. Acting.
>>25853087((I have defeated the Captcha. I am not unstoppable. No system can keep out the Adjutant, ahahahaha!))
>>25853047head to main engineering.push comes to shove, we salvage everything we can from the suit and install it on a CMC chasis....
>>25853124((Not sure if you meant Now* instead of Not....))
>>25853124our consciousness has gone insane, swell.
>>25853137Welp, time to strip naked and start streaking though the ship.
>>25853148>i'd like to point out that your sudden name change messes with my catalogue filters.>i had to MANUALLY sticky it. Preposterous!
Not knowing is terrible. You decide to head to main engineering. Odds are you know more about it than anyone else on board. As you approach main engineering you pick up speed, less worried about your physical wounds and more worried about the suit. You open the door and step through. One of the fabrication tables has your suit spread out on it, and Mac is standing over it scratching his head, oblivious to your presence. The suit's been ripped and repaired in more places than you count. The backpack is misshapen, it likely took the blunt force of the blast and saved your life. The entire right arm had to be reattached at the shoulder. Burns cover the once-shiny surface. The front mask's left eye is cracked down the middle in three ways, dead and lifeless without the light you know it once had. You reach out a hand to touch one of the damaged legs, and Mac lets out a startled, girlish scream. You glance at him briefly, before looking back to the suit.>"I'll be honest with you, sir. This thing is... it's well ahead of anything I can do.">"It's more than a thing, Mac.">"... Sorry?">"Nothing, just... Do what you can. I'll see what I can do."You leave the engineering bay and head down a hall. It doesn't matter which one. You stare intently at the ground, trying to piece together the parts of your psyche that you can. You remember your dreams, your... possible memories. The longer you stare the more you wish you were just an automaton. You bump into Henderson who, unlike the rest of your crew, upon noticing you wandering aimlessly stepped in -front- of you.>"You look like a tall order of crap, Buddy. Need a drink?">"I have work to do.">"I could use a drink."
>>25853208((I'll do it from time to time, same trip though. Don't know if that helps.))
>>25853215Yes. All the drinks. We will need to make more.
>>25853215Yes I'd like a drink Henderson
>>25853215>"I could use a drink."
>>25853215>"I have work to do."
>>25853215>I could use a drinkWe deserved it, damn it.
>>25853215>"I have drink to do."
>>25853215"Will a drink sort out this whole operation? Will it fix my suit..."Allow Henderson to drag us to a bar...
>>25853215Time for drinkan. It's terrible for our wounds I'm sure but Henderson overrules medical advice any time,
>>25853252with out enhanced physiology, drinking won't do shit to our wounds, unless we trip and rip some stiches
Am I the only one who doesn't like Henderson? He is too much like a power-fantasy character to me.
>>25853261with our*, that should be
>>25853261I think you fail to account for the sheer scope of what drinking with Henderson is.>>25853269Ouch, right in my propaganda.
>>25853269Nah, Henderson is the muscle of the crew. As explained in a previous thread he's just Tychus but better
>>25853269I'm not crazy about him but i don't dislike him either. he might be the distraction we need to get over this whole suit thing>not sexually.
>>25853293ya tychu without the killswitch
>>25853305He has Mia anyway, I doubt we would need to worry
>"I'll probably need a couple.">"That's the spirit, Buddy!"Henderson places one large, burly arm over your shoulder and begins to navigate the both of you to the Bar. He talks as he does, but you don't quite have the strength to respond.>"Y'know when I heard what you did - took control of a 'viking' to shoot down Dominion boys - I couldn't believe it. That took gumption I did not think you had. Regular steel grit. The rebels planetside are hailing you as a livin' Martyr, you know that? The purple ghost, terror of the Dominion, captain of the Daluke!"Henderson moves his arm in a grandiose motion, signalling the importance of such a title.>"Why I feel like these people're going to like you more than they like me at this rate."He pushes open the Bar door, and sits you both down at a table next to a head-down Mia and a bunch of empty bottles.>"Fuggoff.">"Now is that any way ta' speak ta' yer commandin' officer an' the love of your life?">"Fuggoff, hunk. Fuggoff, sir.">"There's tha' level of mutual admiration an' respect I deserve!"Henderson puts a strong drink drink in front of you.>"Somethin' soft for the lady."You realize you'll have to remove your suit's current mask to drink.>Not... quite ready yet.>Need alcohol. Just a little open.
>>25853293That was how I felt at first, but between the lucky race roll (couldn't be helped admittedly), the way he keeps being described as a huge badass after missions or when Adjutant mentioned his background, the way he's conveniently just right for Mia and gets a waifu immediately, I just find him annoing now. Tyrone superior muscle.
>>25853328>Not... quite ready yet.
>>25853328Just a little open. Possibly with a straw.
>>25853328>Need alcohol. Just a little open.
>>25853328use the 'Emergency Induction Port'.
>>25853328>Need alcohol. Just a little open.straw time. we had kinds aboard at one time so we should have some lying around, right?
>>25853328Just fucking open it
>>25853347((That feel when you want to give smartass adjutant advice, but can't.))
>>25853328Take off the mask mouth. One step at a time.
>>25853328>Need alcohol. Just a little open.Screw the mask, its not OUR mask anyway
>>25853328We have to at least take an uncomfortably long time to 'open up'.
>>25853334Well, he's the Over the top guy. That's sorta his thing. Someone has to be reasonable around here.
>>25853354((You could do it as talking to ourselves."Emergency indu- what the hell is wrong with me"))
>>25853354the Adjutant has 'rubbed' off on us
>>25853354HaHaHa! your frustration pleases me...Now, if only adjutant had a mobile platform...
>>25853334((I honestly didn't intend for any of that to happen. It just lined up and I kinda went with it. As your first hero marine Henderson was just a Tychus ripoff who was supposed to die 10 threads ago.He just legitimately... Is Henderson. And I feel like that's great, because eventually his luck won't hold out, and some random pointless enemy will seem like a god.))
>>25853401when Henderson dies, our Psy rating goes up to 11....
>>25853401Wait, but I thought he was suppose to be our hero marine turned all sorts of other badass?I mean, I find his attitude endearing in a way, and antics funny. I don't want him to just be killed off because "Need somethin fresh"
>>25853328You lift up the environmental suit's mask as little as you can, and take a probably-used straw from the table.Mia slowly raises her head up, blinking her eyes out of unison. She's clearly had a long night. You sense her thoughts why as she sees you. She was the one who lifted you out. She thought you weren't going to make it.>"So, boss. What's the plan for your suit? Going to get you a goliath now, I reckon? Maybe we could see if the BMC can't help us out with some Thors? Stealth Thor - think about it. You'd be all the rage.">You consider your response...
>>25853423((He will die when he dies. I will do my best to prevent it, but when it happens it happens. When I realized his pseudo-potential I rolled with it.He's basically your Lieutenant, so I might just save rolls for big bads. He's the hero-hero unit at this point.))
>>25853426"I'm going to try and take it easy for... a little while."
>>25853426Just have him get us a keg.
>>25853423I sure hope he does. Can't wait for it to happen so anons can stop wanking to him.
>>25853441I think on a scale of 1 to 10 you need to scale your edginess down by 10.
>>25853435Exactly. His death would be a big blow, I feel like, as he was our first 'party member'. OoC speaking, he'd make a great "Shit's gotten real" Trigger.
>>25853426"Just get me a regular old Cirus suit, the shadows are where I belong, not out in the open"

>>25853426>"I'm already being too reckless, don't think replacing a stealth suit with a mobile fortress is the way to improve on that."
>>25853426need to get some people who know how to build or fix a suit like this, if it is to far gone we'll need to aquire a replacement.but I will not endanger my crew by going in to dominion space just so i can maybe get a new suit.

>>25853529Nah, I trust Adjutant to make things... comfortably excruciating, if that makes any sense.Ironically we may weather it more ably with reduced personal agency.
>>25853552That's part of what we were arguing about earlier, delegating decisions and junk so we don't get greedy, which is sorta our main problem.

>>25853885scroll on back, see the projections the scientists have made.
>>25853885excellent, I say we wait for this persons return before putting anyone who has a name we recognise in it

>>25853892Yes it is. Just not our engineer's life. And I want to test this for more than just our suit.

>>25853904Request our Adjutant run the names.
>>25853903Agreeing with this.If he okays it then I have no problem.Guys at the end of the day he'll know more about this machine than we do.
Adjy, you better get that certain red button ready
You read off the names to your Adjutant, who tells you that all of the scientists were returned to Dominion space and summarily executed for treason. It's possible that the Dominion knows the machine is still online and wasn't deactivatedYou order Mac down so he can see the risks first hand, and you can know for sure he's alright with it. You review the logs in the meantime...
>>25853912Thing is, this is an untested procedure. A single fuck up would ruin our guy and damage morale... unless it works and he becomes pic related
>>25853927We're leaving this up to Mac. We aren't pushing him into the pod. He's going to look over the data. If he okays it then it's up to him.
>>25853931any other volunteers?
>>25853933It's too bad we aren't ultra-hax with our psionics or we'd be able to help mitigate at least some of the risks.
>>25853948I don't think we're going to get any others.
>>25853931Logs mostly go over your head, but the scientists seem optimistic. You wish you could read their minds... If you had to guess you'd say they had already tested it without Dominion consent. It doesn't seem like the scientists were particularly ethical in their research.
>>25853948>"I have no other volunteers at this time, Delta Phoenix."You never do. Goddamn adjutant...
>>25853954Ha...they totally did unauthorized tests.
>>25853961throw the Adjutant in it
>>25853931I'm still against it. It just isn't safe, and this whole thing REEKS of 'mad scientist' to me.Of course they THINK it worked, they're crazy
>>25853970((Vee haff created zee perfect engineer!))
>>25853970Remember that thing about letting our crew decide things?Let Mac decide. This is his life and his choice. If he decides not to then that's that.
>>25853961Throw mac inHAHA TIME TO BE AT THE MERCY OF DICE GODS
>>25853970Mac is more qualified to review the logs than we are, frankly.
>>25853970>they THINK it worked> If you had to guess you'd say they had already tested it without Dominion consent.>but they don't know the first thing. It works. I know it works. Everyone here -knows- it works. He has all but told us explicitly it works, let Mac decide, as an engineer, he would know more about it than us
>>25854000Exactly. Mac's the brains of the operation here.
Mac lands, you give him access to the logs. He spends a few hours watching them, the rest of your crew seems tense. Eventually he reaches a decision.>"Yeah, I mean, I don't understand parts of the resoc process, but... I'll do it. It's just training. I'll still be me. At least, according to them, but they built it, right?">Final vote>1 Do it.>2 Don't do it.
>>25854000>>25853981I wouldn't mind that either, really, but...I'm a little worried about subtle insanity. That could be dangerous on its own.

>>25854029not a proper vote, gotta be >#or wont count
>>25854016MISTER BONES WILD RIDE. IT NEVER ENDS.Oh god I hope this works out.No bitching if this doesn't work out. Mac said he'll do it. This is still his choice.

>>25854016First, give him a hug before he goes in.
>>25854016We're near a university anyway. Chances are there will be engineers to recruit

>>25854098Oh god...we fucked up. That's why our consciousness left us.It's ogre.
>>25854114We're going to tear ourselves apart at this rate. This was his choice. Oh god, Mac.

You eventually agree.>"Do it.">"You heard your orders, Helldogs.">"I don't like this one bit, Bossman.">"If you liked your job it wouldn't be a job, Nick."The marines work the equipment, bringing the tank down. Mac steps up the stairs, several electrical wires connect to him, several diodes to his head, a re-breather over his mouth, and they put him in the tank. It goes up. He gives a thumbs up.>"You... sure, sir?">"Do it."Loud engines hum. Sparks shoot across the tank, full of nearly-fully lightning. The various electrical systems start to smoke.>"It's too much. Shut it down! Shut it down!">"I can't, nothing's responding!"Engines hum at higher pitches, Mac convulses in the tank, electrical arcs shoot out from it, hitting equipment and blasting one of your marines to the ground.>"Back up! Everyone get-"Too little too late. An explosion rocks the room. Black smoke and resoc fluid touch every corner. You stand up, coughing. In the middle of the room is a nearly naked Mac, his hair blonde from the shock. He's hunched over on his knees.>"... Mac?"You ask, and step towards him cautiously. Your hand shakes as you reach out to touch his shoulder. He slowly starts to stand, you pull your hand back.>"I know... everything.">"Everything?">"I can build... anything."He looks at his own hands as if some world-shattering revelation has hit him. Then back to the Lab. Your marines are helping eachother up.>"Everyone alright?">"Yeah I'm fine.">"Real Peachy.">"I feel better, actually. This reminds me of this one time me and my friend Jerry went to the ice cream store, now normally Jerry likes to get a pecan but-">"Looks like the equipment blew, hadn't been used in a while by my guess. I could rebuild the machine but the training would be gone. I think you're more interested in other repairs though, am I right?">"Let's go, everyone. Back on the Daluke."
>>25854153Fuck...We need our glorious QM to come back. I'm dying.
>>25854169MAAAAAAAAAAAAAACHE FUCKING MADE IT.WE ARE NEVER TAKING A RISK AGAIN.

>>25854195DO THIS.HUG HIM.
>>25854189we he didn't roll a 100, otherwise the gear would still be intact and we could have unlimited geniuses
>>25854201((Hard-drives got hit by lightning. Now I'm no rocket surgeon, buuuutt....))
>>25854201The training isn't built into the machine. It's loaded. The entire fucking rig blew up.>>25854197DAMN YOOOOUSOMETHING HAS TO BE WRONG RIGHT!?FULL MEDICAL.
>>25854201Data banks exploded or some shit. He can repair the mechanics but the software is shot. It makes sense.

>>25854169Ho shit. Get him to the medbay, test him for abnormalities and interview him
Yes definately get him to medical.

>>25854277Both if possible. Weapons and schematics if not.

>>25854277Get DP on the recruitment mission since she's a hero to the resistance and word about her probably spread around. But then again, schematics are rarer and more valuable as of now, so go for schematics. If any case, we'll just assign Henderson and/or Mia to buy them in our stead
>>25854277>>25854299oh SHIT THE BEEPING. CHECK IT.
>>25854277Go for it Adjy, you got all this micro junk.Voting for all, with supplies first, so we have money.
yes definately find out what that beeping is.

>>25854332>>25854325While I agree with this, I think we should always do a scan of new recruits, even if it's just for when they first come aboard. Can't risk spys now can we?

>>25854345Oh of course. They can get them ready for us though.

You order the Adjutant to take care of remaining objectives. You stay on the bridge, looking out at the vastness of space, waiting for something to happen. Eventually, your Adjutant speaks:>"Commander, Specialist Cammac Guyver has been released from the Med Bay. There were no abnormalities following his procedure.">"Thank you, Adjutant."You are still wary of the news, but there's little you can do. He'll be working on your suit now, you imagine.Hours seem to pass before your next alert.>"Commander, Corporal Tyrone is reporting. He has located a black market schematics and munitions depot. He is reporting that it is run by his lost relative. I have brought available purchases up on screen."You look to the screen's readout...>Available Credits: 360,000 Credits>Civilian Stimpack Schematic: 100,000 Credits.>Spider Mine Schematic: 50,000 Credits.>Jet Packs: 50,000 Credits.>Mule Schematics: 200,000 Credits>Orbital Command Center: 200,000 Credits>Orbital Drop Pod Schematics: 150,000 Credits>1 Nuclear Missile: 150,000 Credits >3 Wraiths (No Cloaking): 50,000 Credits.>1 Valkyrie: 50,000 Credits.Interesting...
>>25854444>stim schematic>MULE schematic
>>25854444Adjutant how much money do we have currently?I'd really like those wraiths...Also spider mines. Maybe another valk...
>>25854444>Civilian stimpackWhat is the difference between this one and military grade stimpacks?
>>25854461MU WRAITHS INDEED BABY.
>Orbital Command Center: 200,000 Credits>Jet Packs: 50,000 Credits.These two
>>25854444Hm...What's so good about civilian stimpaks and how do they differ from 'military' stimpaks?Do we need Vultures to use Spider Mines?Jet Packs allow us to make Reapers, yes?Note: All of my hate for splitting up MULES and OCsNuclear Missile= for us to call down, or to load onto ship?
>>25854444DAT ORBITAL COMMAND CENTER. DEM WRAITHS.DAT VALK.
>>25854444Orbital Command Center
>>25854444>Spider MinesOh gods yes>Jet PacksDo those allow us to train Reapers?>MULE schematicsDo we need the Orbital Command to deploy?
>>25854465>"You currently have 360,000 credits, commander. We will have more once we sell the remaining supplies.">>25854469>"Civilian stim packs provide a 5% combat increase, military grade provide a 10% increase.">>25854477>"Mules must be constructed, Commander. They do not just fall out of the sky. The Nuclear missile can be launched by the Daluke at a target designated by your C-20-A rifle, C-10 rifle, or the Daluke itself.
>>25854465Yeah we really need to know our current funding.
>>25854499We would be able to train reapers.Mules would need to be deployed normally unless we have available drop pods.An orbital command center is not required, as the Daluke can target drop pod deployments.
>>25854444Okay guys. Orbital command. We need it.Wraiths. We could use some more fighters for space combat.Valk. Again, we could use some more shit for space.that leaves us with 60k and more coming soon.Does it seem like a good first buy?
>>25854514What would the Orbital Command get us as in, what can it do? How can we use the drop pod schematics?
>>25854520Yeah, considering that ships aren't going to be super easy to come by.
>>25854504I say we go to sell the supplies, then. Wanted to do that before we looked at this list...But I definitely want OCs eventually.
>>25854444>3 Wraiths (No Cloaking): 50,000 Credits.>Orbital Command Center: 200,000 Credits>1 Valkyrie: 50,000 Credits.think smart with the money people we need a bigger air fleet and the orbital CC is useful as well
>>25854514Any chance for us to undergo Reaper resoc? Our suit is still busted and being a Reaper would fit our GO FAST GO LOUD m.o.
>>25854532An orbital command allows for a scan of the planet, revealing stealthed units or unknown locations. Additionally it can be used to call down orbital supplies, drop pods, and mules.
>>25854520>>25854541Agreed.I kind of want those spider mines too, but we're not deploying any time soon I think.
>>25854520good man we had the same idea
>>25854544I'd like to point out that Reapers are insane, and require being injected with drugs constantly.
>>25854544No. No no no.
>>25854555ya let's never get them now using jetpacks is ok but reapers no
>>25854550Spider mines would be super damn handy. We need those ships though. Too damn good of an opportunity to pass up.We have a top notch wraith pilot on board too. She can teach the scrubs anything they need to know and then some. SHE'LL HAVE HER OWN WING.
>>25854548Yep, Orbital Command, Wraiths, Valkyrie and Reaper jet packs
>>25854444my vote is for >Orbital Command Center: 200,000 Credits>3 Wraiths (No Cloaking): 50,000 Credits.>1 Valkyrie: 50,000 Credits.
Guys, could we...Attack jetpacks to CMCs? Jetpacking Firebats firing fire everywhere.
>>25854572Yep. That's bout what we're going with for now.spider mines would be good but we need more cash first. GOTTA SELL DEM GOODS.Also contact the resistance. They're hailing us as a hero right now. Maybe they can get us a better deal on stuff. OR OTHER COOL SHIT.
>>25854504>Available Credits: 360,000 Credits>Civilian Stimpack Schematic: 100,000 Credits.Mmmm, not needed though we could start selling these on the blackmarket for a mint. Stims are pretty in demand.>Spider Mine Schematic: 50,000 Credits.Good for when we have Mac look over our vulture to reverse engineer it... but it can wait.>Jet Packs: 50,000 Credits.Maybe? Reapers aren't exactly the nicest of people. Maybe Mac can come up with something custom instead.>Mule Schematics: 200,000 CreditsI want these. >Orbital Command Center: 200,000 CreditsI also want this. All dem abilities>Orbital Drop Pod Schematics: 150,000 CreditsOrbital Deployment yay! >1 Nuclear Missile: 150,000 Credits Not needed at the moment.>3 Wraiths (No Cloaking): 50,000 Credits.More uncloaked wraiths damnit. Though a heavier spaceforce is needed>1 Valkyrie: 50,000 Credits.Again more spaceforce. We kinda lack pilots though.Overall I say The Orbital Command and Orbital Drop Pods
>>25854576Attach. I mean't attach.
>>25854548>Additionally it can be used to call down orbital supplies, drop pods, and mules.>drop podsI'm assuming we need teh drop pod schematics for that ability?
>>25854580>"Resistance forces are currently overjoyed that they have barracks, cmc, and c-14 technology available.">"They have no technology that they can offer us."
>>25854598Shit.>>25854572Yeah let's do this and wait on cash.
the choices seem to be >Orb Comm Base>Orb drop pod schematicsVS>Orb Comm Base>Wraiths>ValkMy vote is for the second group
>>25854585We'll get to it Redaeth. We need time though. People could buy those ships out from under us. Can't have that. You know how in demand ships are.
>>25854598Not something like a... Siege Tank we could buy off them?
>>25854631>"They are not any more willing to part with irreplaceable equipment than you are, Commander."
>>25854618Yeah, after we get the second option we should get the mule schematic. It would be handy for orb comm base. With the valk we can bring our boys down to the planet without too much trouble. I'm sure we can get drop pod schematics later right?
>>25854644Alrighty.((time to put up a vote. Pretty sure we know what we want to get. Orb Com base wraiths and valk for first buy.))
>>25854655We can't afford all 5 yet though.
>>25854675We're still selling goods.
Confirm Purchase:>Available Credits: 360,000 Credits>Orbital Command Center: 200,000 Credits>3 Wraiths (No Cloaking): 50,000 Credits.>1 Valkyrie: 50,000 Credits.Remaining Credits: 60,000
>>25854686>>25854680>>25854682Oh, thought it was 50k PER Wraith not all three for 50k.
>>25854686pity we kinda like pilots for these things
>>25854713((it made me lol so I left it))
>>25854711we can check if any of are crew are any good/go hire some
>>25854686Since I already voted...Guys the mule and drop pod schematics would be stupid handy. Wouldn't have to use SCVs planet side anymore. If we can get both those and the spider mines that would be great.
>>25854723Pretty sure Mia can train them for us.>>25854724yeah no point getting orbital command without em really.
>>25854724I don't think we're getting another 250k unfortunately.
>>25854724What if we could build enough buildings to make Terratron?
>>25854739We can hope. Sell off some of our minerals maybe?
>>25854739we could seeing how much stuff we have to sell
>"Purchases accepted. I am receiving a transmission from our ground team. Recruitment mission complete. We have recruited 12 men and 15 women.">"Thank you, Adjutant."Tomorrow you'll have sold off all your supply and you'll be done here. You'll gain 114,625 credits from the last batch of supply and be ready to depart. What supplies to you buy next with your 164,625 credits, if any?
>>25854770Is it possible to buy love? If not, set aside 1k for adult toys and entertainment.
>>25854770I dunno guys...I'd at least like to get the orbital drop pod schematics...mule schematics might be easier to find.
>>25854770... hmm Orbitals, frankly they are more useful at this moment as we are still primarily a ground force and instant deployment is needed.
>>25854794You know...I hate agreeing with you. Thankfully you weren't the first to say it.
>>25854770orbital drop pod schematics
>>25854770>Orb drop pop schematics
>>25854770((so seriously though...mac's 100% okay? No serious health effects?))
Adjutant are there any local jobs being offered?
>>25854820As far as you or anyone else seems to be able to tell...
>>25854839((I will not have this again. You have 7 other planets to explore.No.Bad.))
>>25854839seconding this, while it may not be the LAND OF OPPORTUNITY, there has got to be some work being offered, the place has just had a revolution
>>25854848hah, alright if we are done here pull up the starmap
>>25854848not even some easy cash supply runs?fine finelets go chill with out Dark Templar bro
>>25854848((Alright. Guys we just got told to fuck off. let's but the shit and fuck off.))We have no god damn suit anyway.
>>25854848Would the crew be okay with a "Fun" room in the battlecruiser?
>>25854858We should totes go chill with dark templar bro.
>>25854858I agree, Jungle World DT. Mine a bit while we study with him if we can
>>25854869Whoa...ask him if we can mine first. Don't wanna piss him off. We'll basically be guests.
You sell your supplies and gather your orbital drop pod components. You'll be able to insert to planet surfaces straight from the Daluke. Or other, more creative, uses.>"Commander, I have loaded the starmap."Starmap loaded. Additional options have become available. Unnecessary or dangerous locations have been removed. Recommendation: We are low on Credits. Look for Financial Opportunities.>1 Jungle World XTYU003: Edge of Protoss space. Ruins on planet, inhabited by friendly Protoss Dark Templar Kassix. >2 Volcanic World HA002: Old zerg hive world. Nuked out years ago during the Brood Wars. Heavy in minerals, vespene gas, and geothermal energy.>3 Forest World NN014 "New Ares": Small colony in operation, mostly agriculture. Close to heavy shipping lanes.>4 Nohallan: Fringe Ice Planet. Hostile Wildlife and climate. Well outside of Domninion space. >5 Barren World JZ01919: No atmosphere, high in inorganic salts and rare compounds. Mining platform station "Dick's Paradise" in orbit.>6 Murric: Contiential Fringe World. Provides 92% of Agriculture for nearby systems. Fiercely independent anti-Dominion population.>7 Corendis: Jungle World, known for heavy Safari activity. Low in minerals, high in vespene gas. >8 New Albuquerque: Fringe Desert Planet. Civilian Shipbuilding industry. Low in minerals and vespene gas. >9 Station 114: Fringe territory observation post. Previously Confederate, now occupied by ex-Confederate mercenaries.
