Previous thread>>25764480You are currently on the bridge of the D.S.S. Junkworthy, a Dominion cargo transport loaded with minerals and vespene. Your team of firebats, marines, and medics has boarded successfully, but the bridge is fortified and unarmored marines with shotguns have their sights trained on you and your men.Not wanting an incident and seeing an opportunity, you speak up.>"You do not stand a chance against our forces. Stand down and you will not be harmed. Any of you who are tired of your lives struggling under the Dominion are free to join us. Those who don't will be left here, unharmed."A few seconds pass, you fear your speech is for naught. Finally one of the men lowers his weapon and steps forward.>"Resume your post, private! That's an order!" >"Hell with you, captain, I don't get paid enough to get shot!">"Damnit you get paid EXACTLY enough to get shot!"The captain fires on the man moving forward, who lets out a rather pathetic screech as his leg is shredded. Your men raise their weapons instantly, and you fear a bloodbath, before one of the Dominion marines fires on his own captain, then rushes to the wounded man.Without your order your Medic, Gary, rushes to the wounded man. The remainder drop their weapons. The ship is yours.>Loading options, please wait...

As you review the personal files of your new recruits, you hear your marines at the bridge. Corporal Henderson seems to be giving the new recruits some background on just how many hundreds of thousand of Dominion officers you - "The boogeyman" - have single-handedly killed. Meanwhile, Private Jenkins radios approach vectors to the Hercules, and prepares to release all of the ships Cargo. You make for the engineering bay to see what objections the two remaining brothers have. >"Bloody 'ell, didn't think Johnny-John was serious when he said it was a rogue ghost... You, uh, you ain't real, are you? Oh! Oh! What color am I thinkin' about!"You scan the surface thoughts of the brother your HUD identifies as 'Bob'. >"You aren't. You're thinking of the number seven.">"Well butter my biscuit.">"Why do you two wish to remain with the Dominion?"They look at eachother, then the other brother, 'Dick', responds:>"We've served on ships all over the sector. Dominion, Confederate, Kel-Morian, you name it! We're in it for the long haul, buddy. Ain't much life expectancy in your line of work, you know what I'm saying?">"Besides! >Registering Consensus. You have Mia drop you off at one of the patrol locations, to set an ambush. Before long you see the dust clouds, and can make out the shimmer of vehicles. As they come closer you can identify the force. An APC escorted by 3 Hellions. You stand ready, stealthed, and the vehicles approach the entrance to this canyon. There's only the one way past, and they're coming right for you. You mark your target, the leftmost Hellion, it's closest to the rear and will be the hardest for your opponents to see. It approaches you, perhaps close to 30 or 40 miles per hour.Slow enough. You begin running in the same direction, taking off as much speed as you can, pushing the Cirus suit and your own psionics to the limit. As the Hellion passes your side you jump and grab on. You open the cockpit, extend your wrist-mounted combat knife, and kill the operator. The hellion swerves, and would nearly hit the APC if not for your reflexes grabbing the wheel. You dump the deceased hellion driver out and assume his seat, lower the cockpit, and disable your stealth. The patrol is none the wiser.Minutes later the gates of the Dominion security base are in front of you. The convoy slows down as the sensors scan for any abnormal signs. Your luck doesn't hold out. A klaxon sounds, red lights spin, the door begins to close. You won't make it in time. However, mineral-hauler debris to your right poses a very rough makeshift ramp. You floor it, jump the closing gate, and find yourself in the base. The alarm has sounded, your Adjutant calculates remaining mission time. Several marines open fire, but the hellion is far to fast. You make for the sensor suite.>Remaining time: 19:52.>Detonate hellion to destroy sensors: 1:31 (100% chance of hellion loss)>Overload sensor reactor: 2:29>Hijack nearby anti-aircraft cannon, disable sensors: 2:02 (50% chance of hellion loss)>Cannot order Banshee Strikes with sensors online.

I just realized something. The reason why we haven't even looked at any of our crewmembers is because we're a robophile.
You drive the hellion to the nearest anti-air emplacement, and fry the operator. You open the cockpit, take control of the cannon, and blow the sensors apart piece by piece. You take as much time as you can, the sensor has to be beyond repair for as long as you'll be operating on the planet. You exit the emplacement, sensors significantly damaged, and find your hellion intact. You quickly board it and prepare for your next objective. >Remaining time: 17:50You may order banshee strikes on one location and travel to a second location. >>25771848What do the guys in the powersuits do when something begins to itch?
>>25771841>Acquire large-processored slut body.Um. What's our rough man and resource count?
>>25771841Excellent job Mia, Adjutant, couldn't do this shit without youOur next Objective: Prepare for mining operations. With the sensor towers down and chaos about, we should be able to set up undisturbed and mine happily away, correct?
>>25771857Note: CMC-660 Operators register itch complaints 24% more often than standard CMC operators.
>>25771844We need to give her the highest five.
>>25771857why do you think the vast majority of firebats are crazy resocc'd guys?
>>25771841Well now time for mining. Also the Dominion will be hunting the Banshee in full force so we might want to hide it inside the Hercules for the time being.
>>25771848Oh its second gen. Come to think of it combine that with the grenade launcher specs we got. And if we find ourselves an engineer we can build ourselves some marauders. Their based of the same armor except marauders use grenade launchers instead of flamers.
>>25771841Personally thank Mia for the extraction, make her feel appreciated, good for morale, will keep her from defecting. High fives and verbal acknowledgement are in order, perhaps even a thumbs up. Hugs are not warranted at this juncture.I think the Security Network is down now, if not please correct me Adjutant, in which case begin Liberation of Mining Camp A-JK-10, it gets us more SCVs which we well and truly need in order to repair the Gorgon, and keeps our crew happy which leads to better work from them.>>25771857They cope.
>>25771875Notice: We do not have schematics for Punisher Grenade launchers, or punisher grenades. Only A-13 Grenade launchers and flares.Addendum: It would be possible to create a 'flashbang' support CMC-660 utilizing this technology if we acquire some engineers.
>>25771866poor Adjutant can't even feel what an itch is like, why won't you lets us upgrade you?
>>25771883Can we stick gauss rifles where the grenade launchers would be and make it into a bullet-hose suit?
>>25771876Liberation of Mining Camp A-JK-10 will likely result in additional SCVs and operators. It will increase the loyalty of our civilian population an ex-dominion marines as their friend is re-united with his family. Please note that the mining camp will be defended by Hellions and a very small marine contingent. Hellions currently pose an extreme risk to our infantry forces.
>>25771893a DAKKArauder? this warrants further explanation...
>>25771876Well, we could use the attack as a diversion. Say if a Dominion patrol comes too close to our mining op, we hit the camp and steal stuff. The patrol comes running after which we'll have escaped with the loot and have mined enough material to repair the Gorgon-class battlecruiser.
>>25771876I agree with everything here. We're only repairing the Gorgon to the bare minimum required to move it to somewhere safer, yes?
>>25771899We should go in for a stealth mission then.Don't need to lose infantry on this expedition.
>>25771893It is possible to modify the C-14 Rifle with Bayonet Affix to be used with CMC-660 suits. Please note that no resoc program exists for training units to this role.
>>25771899That is what the is banshee for. Have it wreck the hellions and then have our infantry advance.
>>25771899re: the Hellions, is there something near the mining camp that we could use as a distraction to draw them away and then lure them into a trap using our aircraft?
>>25771909We won't need one. It will be "Think you're using fire, but with bullets."
>>25771909Ah so we don't have access to any heavy machine guns? Damn gonna have to put that on the shopping list.
>>25771907Current mineral estimates are for complete restoration.Crew compliment is currently too low to man weapons. Engines, navigation, and life support are the only subsystems available until more crew is acquired.
>>25771899Can the BOSUNFN92 rifle penetrate the windshield or the Hellion?
>>25771899Does the camp have anti-air forces? If not what about using our air forces to strike the hellions, then have out infantry run in, grab the families, and leave ASAP?
>>25771899Just banshee it, hellions can't do shit and between cloak and maneuverability, a few marines wwon't matter either. It's like I really am playing WoL ca. 2010!
>>25771899Use the banshee against the hellions. Cloak and snipe the marines. Can't give advice with more tactical detail than that at the moment.
>>25771916The mining camp is located at the edge of a Dune sea.It is the only Dominion installation within 26 miles.A civilian town is located 5.3 miles to the west of the location. It is only 43% likely that Dominion forces would respond to the town if we were to threaten it.
>>25771940Do we have the capability to make combat shields yet?
>>25771899How many hellions are there? What level of stealth detection do they have? Where are the Hellions kept and maintained?Possibilities, lure hellions away with a distraction and throw a banshee at them, should they lack sensor capabilities there is no need to even lure them away.Alternative, sneak in ourself, ruin Hellion support prior to attack.>>25771940In event of threat on town what forces would respond? Would it be a full contingent or just the hellions which are faster than everything else?
>>25771922BOSUNFN92 Rifles are capable of penetrating the armor of all mechanized Terran ground units.
>>25771940Air raid + Stealth it is thenwe need to disable the hellions as fast as possible so our marines can get dropped off without melting
>>25771945Combat shields are currently in production and will be available in future deployments.
>>25771952>In event of threat on town what forces would respond?we aint attacking a random town that is less than likely to draw a response...
>>25771955Information on number of Hellion units? And we should have our sniper (Who's name I'm forgetting right now) take some of them down.
We should probably scope out the area to learn their patrol paths and schedules. Also possibly doing per-attack sabotage.
>>25771962I was curious, information is good. >>25771958Also, Adjutant, are there any environmental features of note around the mining base? If there's high ground we can use than our job becomes much easier.
Banshee is the obvious choice.Maybe up whatever we pay Mia a little since she's definitely been MVP since joining, and a combo of 2 successful raids (assuming this works) and a bit more credits should do wonders for morale.
>>25771940Marines can create a ruckus in the town. Say a bank robbery or a hit on anything important to the Dominion. The banshee will be waiting for the hellions between the camp and the town. We will be stationed near the mining camp so when the hellions leave and get attacked by the banshee, that will be the signal to liberate the camp.
>>25771968Hey we can also snipe its just everything that doesn't directly relating to killing that we suck at.
>>25771952Scans indicate four squads of three hellions patrolling the camp, and one squad of five marines with marauder support. Anti-aircraft is limited to 3 conventional flak emplacements.Mia's combat effectiveness puts estimates at her ability to destroy any 3 objectives before cloaking fails due to energy concerns.
>>25771952if they send in just the hellions we could get them in a turkey shoot with are banshee
>>25771962It is likely to draw the attention of 1 hellion squad and 1 marine squad, if any.
>>25771958does this base have physical Adjutants we could 'evict' from their bodies, we need to get you something you can call home that also looks rather fetching
>>25771975Seconding a little pay increase."Maybe a few more credits your way will convince you not to cut it so close this time, eh?"
>>25771969Scans are currently mapping Dominion patrols. Information will be available as necessary for mission deployment.
>>25771971 The mining encampment is on flat terrain with no fortifications. Dunes to the north range in height from 6 to 10 feet and will provide minor cover from sight.
>>25771981We could have her hit the hellions then and snipe the mauader personally. Would we need to drop the anti-air turrets before she can attack?
>>25771986Not really interested in attacking the town, even a mock attack won't make our crew too happy. The civvie ones anyway.
>>25771995How many units can we get combat ready to deploy and what type?
>>25771987As this base has no command center physical Adjutant bodies are unlikely.
>>25772003How well do Hellions handle the dunes?
>>25772003hrm, we could have Mia in Knife hit the base and run, drawing away some hellions, and have DP and Henderson in the dunes waiting for the marines + marauder to come out, snipe them, and then move our marines into the camp.Once in the camp, it should provide ample cover to use against the hellions when they return
>>25772014Do any markets sell sex bots? Do any have the capability of housing an Adjutant?
>>25772008we don't really need to attack it just get whoever is in change to say they are under attack
>>25772010Resources are as follows:Marines: 4 Firebats: 3Medics: 2 CMC Vultures: 1 (Qualified pilots: Delta Phoenix, Corporal Henderson, Kyle Julian.)SCVs: 8Hercules Class Transport (Unnamed.)Planet-Hopper class Dropship (Unnamed.)Wraith (Dolphin 13, Pilot: Mia Rodriguez)Valkyrie (Unnamed, Pilot: Dave Jonesy. Copilot: Carol Theon)Banshee (Unnamed, stealth reactor, no pilot)1 Command Center1 Barracks
>>25771980Sure we can, but then we can't do anything else really.>>25771981Is pre-mission infiltration possible? We could sabotage the AAs to explode on use.Hellions use fuel correct? Can we destroy the fuel dump with a timed explosive?
>>25772015The ATV body of the hellions can navigate the 6% gradient slopes easily. Slopes will only provide visual cover and cover from small arms fire.
>>25772021Town records indicate the current Marshall is a Dominion loyalist.Cooperation is only 11% likely.
>>25772022wasn't the banshee named Knife?
>>25772022Voting to name Hercules Class Transport "Mumma"
>>25772018I know, right? Shouldn't be that hard to find something that can at least look nice and move about. Or perch on our lap and confuse everyone later. I'm sure there'd be a market for it.>>25772022And we're going up against four hellion squads, marines, and marauders? Doesn't look that great for us. Waiting for someone to suggest something wise.
We have access to lockdown correct? We can use that against the hellions. Basic Strategy:Mia hits one patrol around a flat ground while we hit another in the dunes. I bet the third patrol will turtle up with the marines at that point. At that point we ghost in to disable the anti air and start picking off marines.Once the marines are gone our other air can pick the final hellions off with impunity.
>>25772045We could snipe and act as support for our marines, medics, and firebats. Could also use the vulture as a recon unit to alert us when any patrols are coming back.
>>25772017I'd like to suggest a tweak to this plan. We get Henderson to go in with our vulture, shoot a grenade to get their attention then move back to our ambush site. We will be taking out the AA once they take the bait.
>>25772046>lockdowndo you mean lockdown rounds? if so, what are their capabilities
>>25772046We only have access to one lockdown per deployment.
>>25772063disables machines for a period.
>>25772046This all sounds reasonable. Has my vote.
>>25772066>>25772065Use it against the patrol we ambush, in my opinion.
>>25772077agreed, maybe we can get a hellion after all heh.
>>25772046Seconded. May as well do this and improvise once we hit some bumps.
>>25772080Why do we want Hellions again? I thought we were going to pretty much stick to what is immediately useful to ship-to-ship combat and boarding actions?
So I see you guys are against sabotage?>>25772030
>>25772099oh, didn't see you post, if this is possible, then it looks half decent
>>25772094Well while hardly a priority, hellions are still useful for on-site transportation and scouting. Then again, we have a vulture to do that with as well, not like that's much more useful (spider-mines when?)
>>25772046>>25772022I wonder... can we bring the wraith along as well? It would be helpful .Or does Dave and Carol only pilot Valks
>>25772046We have a Vulture, we put someone in it, probably Kyle, and he leads a patrol of Helions on a merry chase, it'll buy us time, he ought to go as fast or faster than them, and has better range, so he either run if they chase, or chase if they run, keep them from doing stuff. Also, we have Recluse mines, if we're hiding out in the dunes we should plant those down to fuck over incoming Helions. If we can do pre-mission infiltration and sabatoge, which I'm not sure about considering that it's pretty fucking flat between here and the enemy, we should do so, either take out their flak cannons with explosives so that once the marines are dead the Mia can kill everything at her leisure, or take out the Hellion fuel to render them unoperational or something, maybe both.
>>25772112this sounds good
>>25772112I kinda like the idea of having our Vulture lead the third patrol on a chase. Using mines and his range\speed advantage he might even take them out.
We really should just leave it. Air patrols will let us keep an eye out for Hellion patrols, assuming they even notice us at all while we mine.
>>25772112It's risky though, certainly he's not at a disadvantage in speed, but they'll know the lay of the land far better AND can split up for pincer-attacks and the like. Considering Mia is at literally zero risk against patrols and very little against the base proper I'm not a big fan of the plan.
>>25772104I just don't see any reason to grab stuff we don't really need. A vulture will do the hellions job better, and with a more obvious get-the-hell-out-of-here escape option. We're after as few feet on the ground as possible, and for as shot a time as possible.
>Registering Consensus. You deploy yourself and your infantry in the dunes, as well as your vulture. With a quick salute the vulture pilot, Private Kyle Julian, heads to intercept his patrol. With the Dominion's sensors offline there is not chance of you being detected. The Dominion patrols are clearly mapped, so you set up an ambush easily. >"Rodriguez reporting. I am in position.">"Fire at will.">"I read you."You wait a few minutes before you see the dust clouds. The hellions zip by quickly. You take careful aim and fire your lockdown at the frontmost hellion. It siezes up, turns to the right, and starts to roll. The other two hellions slow to a halt, almost exactly in your kill zone. Your marines rise up from behind the dunes and open fire. The hellions are taken by surprise and one is out of commission almost immediately. The final hellion attempts an escape, but has a tire shot out and flips. Barney, the purple firebat, is the first on the scene and eagerly roasts the driver. >"Rodriguez, status report." >"I've taken out the second patrol. >"Private Julian, Status report.">"Third patrol eliminated, sir."Scans indicate they are following your plan exactly. The remaining patrols have fallen back to the camp. >Loading second objective...
>>25772145Aye, Mia is the better choice.Which is why we're paying her shitloads more after this, right guys?
>>25772148Barney should receive an anonymous donation to be put towards upgrading his personal firebat
>>25772148That went well, good. Only makes me suspicious of what we'll find when we get there though.
>>25772161No instead she gets a one time bonus. Gotta save up our money you know.
>>25772148You activate your stealth reactor and make for the base. The dominion had an idea, though. They knew what was coming. The civilians have been gathered at the center of the camp, and the one remaining hellion squad has their flamethrowers pointed at the civilians. What you gather to be the squad leader has a megavox and starts to speak:>"We know you're here! You open fire on us and we'll set all these nice folks right on fire! So you just pack up an' get the hell out of here!" The civilians are too close to the hellions to call in a banshee strike.Hellion cockpits are polarized against your flashbang rounds. No suggestions available.Awaiting orders.>...
>>25772177Can we kill the driver or disable the flamethrower with one shot without it going off/exploding?
>>25772177Call up our sniper. The both of us will take out them out. Seeing their leader's head blown of and one of their comrades as well. Should send them packing.
>>25772170So, we pay her like comission, except it's coMISSION. As in a bonus that's mission-to-mission, geddit? :D
>>25772177can we use our psionics to get into the Hellion drivers minds? if so how many?also, there is 3 hellions in a squad right? we can have Henderson snipe the driver of on, we can do another, that leaves 1, as long as we can mind control him we should be right
>>25772188their is more then one
>>25772177How many Hellions are there again? Three? That's gonna be tough... Are they lined up? Can we psy shot straight through all three at the right angle?
>>25772177Huh. Well, if we can resolve this, the civilians won't be very Dominion-loyal at least.
>>25772194>>25772197either of these would work.
>>25772190Nope. Odds are more likely the last guy will fry the civilians in a panic. How about we let them leave alive if they let the civvies go?
>>25772177>>25772194This, is the hellion driver REALLY comfortable killing civilians not only innocent but entirely unrelated to us? Invade their mind for things to use while stalling by trying to reason (pretend we took hostages to ransom perhaps?).
>>25772213I agree with this.If we can signal Mia to get into position to smoke one of them at the same time, all the better.
>>25772188Current estimates of Delta Phoenix's abilities render her able to kill 2 hellion drivers before they are able to fire if she disables her cloak for psionic rounds.>>25772194Delta Phoenix's abilities are limited to reading thoughts and memories. Mind control is an impossibility at this time.>>25772197Hellions are in triangular formation.
>>25772177Hmm, no flashbangs or banshee, that's annoying.Don't take any actions quite yet. Attempt to read the leader's mind, see if there is anything there to exploit, anything he cares about, if he has a family, close friends, anyone who's life he cares about, perhaps we can tell him that we have that person and if he plays nice we won't spend a month torturing them.In addition do a mind scan if either of the other two pilots are willing to burn all the civilians. There are three hellions, correct? I'm guessing the civilians are roughly in a circle shape and the hellions roughly form an equilateral triangle. Possibility, if Plan Threaten to Murder the Leader's Family won't pan out we can open private communications with the ones unwilling to shoot civvies, tell them they will be spared if when we shoot the leader they stand down.
>>25772224Then we need our other sniper and some really good synchronization to be able to disable all 3 hellions.
>>25772224so we take out two and Henderson with the other sniper rifle takes out the third? Sounds workable.
>>25772224>Current estimates of Delta Phoenix's abilities render her able to kill 2 hellion drivers before they are able to fire if she disables her cloak for psionic rounds. So DP can take out 2 while Henderson takes out the third? If so, my vote if for that.
>>25772224What about the marine with a sniper rifle? Would he be able to get into effective range without being noticed? Perhaps using the dunes for cover. In addition, can his rifle penetrate the hellion, if yes we can use him to either take out a third, if absolutely necessary, or to make sure we get the second without any problem.I'm >>25772227 by the way and I would prefer to have to deal with less of them, but if practical have contingencies set up to eliminate all three simultaneously.
>>25772224Stall while checking the drivers' minds, if one can be convinced to not fire, try to do so and take out the other two. Otherwise have Henderson take one out.
>>25772234But the hellions aren't the only ones there. How many marines are hanging around? We should mind scan and pick up on who is and isn't willingly to mow down civilians right now.
>>25772224Get Henderson to talk to this guy. He thinks he is in a position of power. He's not of course but we need him to think that he is. We need to go in and stay near a hellion so that after sniping the other two hellion drivers we can immediately kill the driver of the hellion we are near.
>>25772232>>25772234Yep. Do a quick mind probe of the hellion pilots if able.
>>25772227You delve into the marine Sergeant's mind. >"Fuckin' hate ghosts. Not even supposed to be here anyway. 'Least I might get to fry these whiny goddamn civvies before I go out. 'Nuh, these minerals are too heavy.' 'Nuh, this vespene gas rots my lungs.' They hear me bitchin' when I gotta use stims? Hell no, I love stims! Oh, right, keep an eye out, gotta shoot me a rogue ghost."Deciding the sergeant is perhaps your worst choice for a negotiation, you scan the hellion pilots.>"Don't try and run. Don't wanna roast ya. Please work, don't wanna die...">"I really think that Korhal metal has gone down over the years... can't really say I like it less than Tarsonis bluegrass though, but- Hey! Looks like he's gonna run! Oh, try it buddy. Fuckin' try it. I will buuuurnnn yoooouuu.">"I love the Dominion. The Dominion is number 1. I will follow my superior officer's orders without question. I love the Dominion. The dominion is Number 1..."It seems as if only one hellion will resist the order to fire.
>>25772234Note that this will remove Delta Phoenix's cloak, and render her open to marine fire.
>>25772270Snipe the firebug and the resoc. these guys.>"I really think that Korhal metal has gone down over the years... can't really say I like it less than Tarsonis bluegrass though, but- Hey! Looks like he's gonna run! Oh, try it buddy. Fuckin' try it. I will buuuurnnn yoooouuu.">"I love the Dominion. The Dominion is number 1. I will follow my superior officer's orders without question. I love the Dominion. The dominion is Number 1..."
>>25772241Corporal Henderson would be able to move into position and eliminate 1 unit per 6 seconds at 90% efficiency. Likelihood of detection is only 12%.
>>25772281can we get into some cover that would mean we won't die immediately as soon as we decloak?
>>25772270Can we open up private communications with the one who doesn't feel like shooting? Can we get the other person with a sniper rifle into position without him being noticed? If yes to both of these here's my basic plan.Tell Mr. Not-A-Dick Hellion Pilot "If you do not shoot on the civilians you will remain unharmed, do not move or act abnormal."Then we uncloak, kill the two hellion pilots, the sniper blows the sergeant's head off at about the same time. Also, you said the civilians were too close the hellions for a banshee strike, are they too close to the enemy marine contingent as well? If not we may want to bomb those fuckers.>>25772286Snazzy!
>>25772282makes sense and could say that any that stand down will be spared
>>25772299You are already in cover. The camp is sparsely covered and the metal plating available only provides 12% protection from C-14 rounds. It is 72% likely that you will sustain wounds.
>>25772282We still have that marine sergeant to worry about. Wait for this >>25772286Right before we fire we should send a message to the first hellion guy. "[Name], don't hurt any of the civvies and you'll get out of this alive."
>>25772301You are capable of Psionic communication. I have taken the liberty of pulling records on the squad stationed here. All marines are under invasive resoc.
>>25772312What's the chance of lethal or permanent injuries?
>>25772301Sounds good, if we can talk to the pilot
>>25772301>Tell Mr. Not-A-Dick Hellion Pilot "If you do not shoot on the civilians you will remain unharmed, do not move or act abnormal.">Then we uncloak, kill the two hellion pilots, the sniper blows the sergeant's head off at about the same time.>Also, you said the civilians were too close the hellions for a banshee strike, are they too close to the enemy marine contingent as well? If not we may want to bomb those fuckers. This man has plan. Plan is good.
>>25772312Would said wounds be critical?Y/N
>>25772326It is 12% likely you will suffer fatal injuries. It is 33% likely you will suffer irrecoverable injury and require cybernetics. It is 27% likely you will suffer minor flesh wounds.
>>25772312>>25772326Make Corporal Henderson fire first
>>25772301if the marines+marauder are far enough away from the civvies to hit with the banshee, then this gets my vote
>>25772346Any way we could get into better cover or protect ourselves better?
>>25772346if Henderson took his shot first, would they fire on him or us?
>>25772351flak turrets are still up.
>>25772346nnnghgh, those odds aren't great. Can we kill one without deactivating cloak? Stall while Henderson gets in position, try to time one shot with his and talk down the third if so.
>>25772301Good plan. If we add a marine/firebat charge immediately after the snipes, the enemy marines will be forced to attack us instead rather than the hostages.>>25772312That's what the medics are for.
>>25772301The marines are close enough to the civilians that it is 43% likely civillians will be hit by shrapnel. Although this is unlikely to be lethal, it will harm morale.
>>25772360problem is if we don't kill all three of them simultaneously they WILL fire upon the civvies.
>>25772346Is fire support from Banshee against marines available?
>>25772370Well, one might not.
>>25772346Hmm, are odds improved with Banshee support bombing marine+marauder forces?Addendum, additional plan if Banshee support isn't sufficiently helpful. If we can control Recluse Mine target acquisition we plant one, hell we can plant 3 if it'll, near marines+marauder, have them blow up the enemy forces right when we snipe the hellion pilots. >>25772366Would Recluse Mine usage lower risk of collateral damage?
>>25772358Henderson's rifle allows for him to fire at a range of over 2,000 meters, outside of C-14 operational range. He will not be a likely target.
>>25772366gonna downvote banshee strike for now.
>>25772346I am not liking those odds, seeing as we have a plan for the hellions, we need to deal with the marines & marauder now...How far from the civvies are the marines? Also, what specialist rounds/gear do we have with us?
>>25772370We can probably convince one not to fire.
>>25772382if we hit the marines first the hellions WILL KILL THE CIVVIES.
>>25772353Better cover is only possible if you were to use a marine as a shield. It is not possible to do this and remain undetected long enough to kill two hellion pilots. It would reduce the likelyhood of injury to 13% and render you able to kill only one hellion driver.
>>25772376dam, was hoping he could wither the fire while we kill the marines...Where is Henderson and how close could he get?
starting to look like there is no good option
>>25772390he was saying we need to come up with a plan to deal with the foot now
>>25772376If our marines dropped into the enemy marines and at the same time we kill the two asshole Hellions, would that improve mission success odds?
>>25772390I know that, I meant that we need a plan for dealing with the marines IMMEDIATELY AFTER WE KILL THE HELLIONSstop being such a retard red
>>25772382EMP, Flash Grenade, Irradiation Grenade, Hellfire Grenade, Sticky Grenade. Scope includes complete detector suite. 3 recluse mines.
>>25772409will the sticky grenade work on suppressing the marines?
>>25772398Henderson is currently with the squad at ambush point alpha. No orders have been issued yet.
>>25772396>only one hellion driver. So, hows this for a 'hellion' plan?We use a marine as a shield, psionically communicate with the most susceptible hellion driver to cooperate, take out 1 hellion, Henderson takes out the last.Would this work? Also, what nades special rounds do we have?
>>25772413Due to positioning, the sticky grenade can only kill 3 of the 5 marines, or the single marauder. It poses a shrapnel risk to the civilians.
>>25772409Hmmm...subtly launch a flash grenade to trigger right after we shoot? Should save us from injuries, but will force us to kill driver #3 as it's likely they'd panic from the flash+fire, and requires even better coordination.
>>25772409Is it possible to flash the marines and shoot the Hellion drivers before they open up on the civilians?Or other other way around, kill the drivers then flash the marines.
>>25772408Okay one sec1st (Dick) Hellion - Ghost2nd (Dick) Hellion - Ghost3rd (Not Dick) Hellion - Message, then don't fryMarine Sergeant - HendersonMarines - BansheeI'm willing to put up with non-lethal damage from >>25772366
>>25772439It is possible to launch a flash grenade to disable both infantry and civilians. You will only be able to shoot one hellion driver using psionic rounds following this action.
>>25772428how high a risk?Tentative plan: We take out the two hellions and the marine captain. Throw the flashbang at the marines and the sticky to take out that marauder.Henderson and us take out the disoriented marines.
>>25772427>psionically communicate with the most susceptible hellion driver to cooperateThis. Getting him to co-operate gives us the edge we need here. Something like:"You don't want to hurt these people. You help me, you get out AND them get out of this alive."
>>25772455Casualties of 1-2 can be expected.Note: Sensors indicate 12 civilians in total.
>>25772450this sounds good, as long as we can convince 1 hellion driver to not bbq the civvies
>>25772450Guys, I think we're gonna have to face it, not everything is gonna turn out peachy here.
>>25772455Henderson should target the marauder immediately after the marine captain. And unless we've won over the third hellion, flashbangs are a bad idea.
>>25772450This sounds like our best bet. Talk down one, us+Henderson the other two, flashbang to keep us safe from marines.
>>25772466we can handle the hellions, 1 seems to be susceptible to being a good guy, that leaves 2 to kill, we take 1, Henderson takes the other, with the flash grenades we can then take out the infantry at out pleasure
>>25772471>>25772473alright I think we have a plan. Hopefully the decent hellion bites.
>>25772450>>25772463Aye, I'm behind this. So, let's try and win this guy over then.
>>25772450Tempting. Message Not Dick Hellion to not fire, disable infantry/civilians with flash, shoot Dick Hellion 1, Sniper takes out Dick Hellion 2.Further questions. Sticky Grenade would lead to shrapnel, odd. If we drop the EMP on the hellions what would happen, or was that the Lockdown that we get one of? Also, Recluse Mines, are they usable in this situation, would they lead to collateral damage?
>>25772480>pleasureThat was meant to be leisure...only Adjutant gets out pleasure
>>25772488That me, meant to vote for >>25772473 and general things
>>25772455>>25772442How about using our firebats and marines to rush in so that whoever isn't dead or blinded will be shooting our firebats and those guys can tank the shots that the civilians can't take.
>>25772490our* goddamn I can't type tonight
>>25772489Why is sticky grenades leading to shrapnel odd?
>>25772497And then a lucky shot to the fuel tank.
>>25772497that would get all the civvies killed before we can take out the hellions...
>>25772501im guessing the marauder will go boom
>>25772497We're the only one really close enough to present an immediate target, especially with flashbangs in effect. No way we could get our guys anywhere close enough to present a target of their own without being detected and having the civvies shot.
>>25772489EMP on a hellion would have no effect. The systems are not complex enough.
>>25772518Personal Note: The grenade would go boom. The one powerful enough to kill a marauder in CMC-660 armor.
>Registering partial consensus. Moving on with partial objective. You decide the only way this'll end well is if you can talk down one driver. You make contact and hope he doesn't panic and squeeze the trigger.>"Remain calm. I'm the ghost. I don't want to hurt you. The other drivers won't cooperate, but if you do I promise you - and all of these people - will make it out alive. When the shooting starts, just don't do anything.">"Oh, oh god, I've gone crazy. I can't take this, I'm hearing voices now! Get out of my head! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!"Your sensors detect the pilot's flamethrower targeting random civilians. You are not sure if your plan worked or not.
>>25772542The guy's clearly not mentally stable, shit.
>>25772542"If you still want a head at the end of this, do NOT harm them"
>>25772542"You're not crazy, I know crazy, I'm psychic. You're just in a difficult situation, but there's a safe way out (name).I don't want to hurt you or to have the civilians get hurt. This is your chance to get out of this alive, please take it. Just sit there and don't do anything."
>>25772561*Sigh* What did we expect from a Hellion pilot.
>>25772542Whelp, here goes.Voting for us to kill Dick Hellion 1 and flashbang inantry, Henderson kills Dick Hellion 2.
>>25772569>>25772561Does he know Ghosts can talk inside people's heads? Maybe second try, I doubt he of all people will flip out and fry the civvies, he really doesn't want to do that.
>>25772542Hmm, this gives me an idea. Can we say into the mind of the resoc "The Dominion does not want these civilians killed. When the attack starts, you will open fire on the marauder." If we can say it into his head with the voice of Arcturus Mengsk, we might have a temporary ally
>>25772542Can we psychically tell the civilians, or at least the most leadery of them, to all get the fuck down on the ground once the festivities start?
>>25772586No, that will only make him more unstable.I'll vote for this >>25772569
>>25772586He's gullible, but (since they know a ghost is hanging around) I don't think he's THAT gullible. Especially with news of Mengsk biting it and all.
>>25772597He's talking about Dick Hellion number 2, not Not-A-Dick Hellion.
>>25772542Can we tell him one of the civilians will give him a hand sign and then have the closest one to him do it?
>>25772598We have to tell him that the other people are all traitors and have been lying to him about the death of Arcturus Mengsk.Or we can Hamlet this shit and tell him we're the ghost of Mengsk and that we need him to get us revenge.
>>25772586Neural Re-socialization makes it impossible for that driver to disobey a direct order from a superior officer.
>>25772615Oh, my bad then. Might actually work, or we can pretend to be a Dominion ghost sent to kill us, but that's getting over complicated.
>>25772629And Arcturus Mengsk is the most superior officer in the Dominion.
>>25772645It is impossible to spoof officer overrides for his aggression inhibitor with our current systems.
>>25772645you, I like you, but that aint going to work
>>25772619I really don't think we need to let him think the civvies are in on this.
>>25772645>>25772629Did you guys forget the opening to thread #1? It's entirely possible that Arcturus is confirmed dead by now, in which case that would backfire hard.
>>25772629Then command the resoc to hold fire, but don't pretend to be Mengsk, he's dead and all that. Instead pretend to be a major from planetary command or something. And then >>25772619 if possible.
>>25772629Okay, then scratch that plan.
>>25772661not gonna work then.I think we're going to have to take out all three hellions people and take our licks from the marines if we want the civvies to survive.
>>25772661Technically, we are his superior officer aren't we?
>>25772672why do you not understand how resoc works? it will not work unless it is from the direct superior IN PERSON
>>25772691(psst thats QM speak for 'not possible son')
>>25772672See >>25772661We're going to have to headshot him.
>>25772691You can attempt to use Ghost over-rides. However you do not yet know if you have been locked out of Dominion systems and registered as rogue or dead.Failure will alert the pilot that you are attempting to control him, and he will likely notify his superior officer.
Best course, currently is to go with >>25772569and hope we can convince him. If we can't, we are going to have to take out 2 hellions and take our chances with the marines.Adj, would we be able to throw the flash nade, then snipe 2 hellions?
Wait a minute, maybe we're over thinking this. amongst the three hellion drivers, one is nervous and going crazy, one is a firebug but sane, and the last is a resoc. Obvoiusly the resoc must die, but how about letting the sane one live if he turns on the marines. So we snipe the resoc and the nervous guy instead and the hellion driver turncoats so he lives.
>>25772688Well, we will get kudos from that.I think the Sergeant is a bigger threat to the civvies than the Not-Dick hellion
>>25772703Let's not risk it then, we can check later with equipment we find here maybe.I still say we try again with the paranoid driver
>>25772715not-dick is targetting the civvies at the moment.
>>25772709Not prior to the hellions firing on the civillians.Even one hellion firing would result in 100% casualties.
>>25772709He already said no to that.Tell the civilians to hit the deck the moment stuff starts. We throw the flash, take one of the Not-Dick Hellions, sniper takes the other, our forces take out the enemy marines, hopefully not many civvies get taken out. This being after we convince Mr. Not-A-Dick-But-Still-Crazy to calm the fuck down.
>>25772569Best bet.If it doesn't work, let's go for broke.
>>25772711This guy might be onto something.Whisper to the itchy-trigger-finger guy>Pssst, do you like money? I have lots of money, and you can loot the place after this is over, so how about you take a break?
>>25772725Whether he will actually open fire is up in the air, but the Sergeant is keen to pop off a few before he bites it.
>>25772725100% casualties. Vs a few.
>>25772755I think he just really wants to burn things. And civvies burn better than marines.
>>25772767I say try to communicate with him again. If we aren't pretty sure it worked, go with what you said here >>25772688.
>>25772780Oh, and message the civvies to get down when the shooting starts. That will protect them to some extent from the marines.
>>25772780yeah, this is starting to drag on too long, lets just pray the dice favor DP and the marines only do minor flesh wounds
>Registering Partial Consensus.Still your best hope, you make one more attempt to communicate with the third driver. >"You're not crazy, I know crazy, I'm psychic. You're just in a difficult situation, but there's a safe way out Alejandro">"Ooooh no. Don't call my name! Don't call my name!">"You don't want to do this. These people don't deserve this."You seem to get through, the hellion's flamethrower registers as targeting the ground in front of the vehicle. Although the napalm would still splash to civilians and incinerate all of them, he's not directly aiming at them any more.
Possible statement."Did you sign up to roast civvies [name]. To smell their flesh as they burn? No, I bet you signed up to protect them. Against the zerg, against the protoss. Not this. Help me protect them. All you have to do is not do a thing and the madman who gave you this order will be gone."
>>25772770Zerg also burn pretty nicely.>>25772727I don't completely remember what ghosts can do, so we have psychic powers and stuff, can we knock one of the drivers unconscious?
Well, our last good option is snipe all three hellion drivers and hope for the best with a firebat/marine/medic rush. It will guarentee civillian casualties but not 100 percent casualties. But this is our last resort.
>>25772797right, action timewhat was our plan again? lolI think we had agreed on a flash nade for the marines, then we take 1 hellion while Henderson take the other, then we kill the marines and marauder (i think we planned to sticky nade him?)
Welp lets hope it worked. If we think more talk will cement the deal finish up with this >>25772803then open fire and throw our flashbang.
>>25772805Adjutant already said we can't really do that in our current state.>>25772797Let's DO this. Tell the civvies to drop harder than Skrillex on a bad day.Henderson kills Dick Hellion 1, We kill Dick Hellion 2 and flashbang the infantry.>For chrissakes Not-a-Dick, don't let us down
>>25772819add on to that, we should call in our marines, firebats and medics ASAP as we take out the hellions
>>25772832They won't get there in time for it to matter.
>>25772845no but we want them here as fast as possible to help any wounded and the civvies
>Proposing tactical plan based on available consensus.Order Henderson to take out Re-socialized hellion.Disable stealth fields, snipe pyromaniac hellion, fire flashbang grenade.Order remaining infantry to engage dominion marine squad and protect civilians. Current plan propose an unknown chance of zero civilian casualties, depending on actions of third hellion driver. Issue order?>(Y/N)
>>25772851Yget our medics here and in cover ASAP, as we may well need them
>>25772851welp lets get this over with also op are you rolling in the background or is this an interactive storybook
>>25772871hes been rolling in the background. Hence the percentages.
>>25772871((I roll a d100 on all percentages with a 1 being auto-fail and a 100 being auto-success.))
>>25772851YIt's go time>>25772871I don't know if I want to know
>>25772879>>25772880Just making sure thanks for confirming
>>25772851Go for it, hope for the best. Keep an eye on Not-Dick's running thoughts if it won't interfere with the rest of what we're doing overly much, if it starts to turn to the burninate everything we may have a chance to plug him quickly enough to not kill everything.
>>25772851Fuck me but Y, its time to do this.
You wait for your men to get in position, your attempts to communicate with the third pilot taking place during this time. >"I'm in position, boogeyman. Paint me a target!">"Private Valero here, infantry in position.">"Private Julian en route, don't think I'll make it in time, sir!">"Rodriguez here. Can't get a good shot on anything but the air emplacements. I'll take them out when the fireworks start. You take a deep breath, and take aim. >"Open fire."In under a second the two hellions are dead, the flashbang lands at the feet of the marine sergeant, and the forces are all blind except for the rogue hellion. You're in luck, he doesn't shoot, instead he turns tail and drives off into the desert. Your squad charges over the dune, a unified warcry with the exception of Barney, sadistically singing children's nursery rhymes over his speakers as he incinerates marines. Taken by surprise most of the opposing squad is down with no resistance. Henderson takes his second shot, blowing the marauder's helmet clean off his head. >"This is Delta Phoenix to Dropship. Report in for immediate civilian evac, over."You step forward, inspecting the civilians. It appears as though they have escaped unharmed. >"Mission successful, boss. Can't say I doubted us fer one second."The corporal sets a heavy hand on your shoulder with a hearty chuckle. You know you couldn't have done it without him, and pensively remember when you were considering executing him to complete a mission. How far you've co-An explosion rocks your thoughts. Your reflexes suddenly seem slow. Sluggish. You turn around and realize the marauder wasn't dead. One of his punisher grenades just went off. You raise your rifle to take out the threat when a curious thought strikes you - You're missing your right hand. You don't notice it, struggling with the current revelation as you are, but Henderson finishes his job. Your memories fade to black at this point as shock sets in.
>>25773001Well fuck, that was our favorite hand, lefty was just never as good.
((Anyone want to continue or shall we pick up again tomorrow?))
>>25773001Well shit. Also, nice job with Barney OP, loving it
>>25773001After all that, and we only lost a hand. I'll take it.
>>25773001Ouch. Thanks man, good work.
>>25773023We seem to end threads unconcious. Why break tradition now. Plus it has been how many hours for you?
>>25773023we can continue tomorrow if we get a assassins creed hidden blade in our shiny hand
>>25773023I'm up for it (only early afternoon here), but you've been running for a while so not too bothered if you stop.
>>25773001I'm good for continuing if you are Op. Morning crowd probably will join in if you do.
>>25773023I'm up for continuing, alsoGODDAMMIT THAT WAS OUR FAVORITE HAND, how are we going to caress your body when we get you one Adjutant?hopefully the hand is intact or salvageable, and can be reattached
>>25773023cliffhanger?i kinda want to see what happens but if you need rest then i don't mind stopping at this point.
>>25773023Wait, continue?Hell yeah man!
>>25773001Can we get ourselves one of those sick cybernetic cannon arms like Warfield got? Cause that would be pretty sweet. Also OP I think we should leave it here for the night, get some rest OP
>>25773045Personal note: I will prefer the cold touch of cybernetics.
>>25773001I can continue if you can Adj, also, was DP's hand vaporized or able to be re-attached?
>>25773045Don't you see?She will BE our favorite hand!
>>25773047I can keep going, but I like to end on cliffhangers. Everyone seems to want to keep going, though.
>>25773057if it means we can get you a sexy cybernetic body, then it is worth the loss
>>25773057Does that mean that Adjuant likes to cyber?
>>25773053we are a ghost, I don't think we could get something that is larger than our torso as a hand...
>>25773067then that's fine by me, i wonder how they'll react when they get us out of our suit for medical treatment.
>>25773067Well you've run long enough to wrap around for the EU crowd by now, so that's not very surprising.
>>25773057our new hand better be the single most sexy thing in the universe, apart from your body when we get you one.
>>25773067You're basically asking an alcoholic if he wants another beer.If you want to end it you have to do it without asking. Also cliffhanger.

>>25773147sounds good, next session time?our robo-hand aint the only robo thing we going to be upgrading...
>>25773182I can live with that. But, seeing as we're going to be essentially space pirates, an eye wouldn't have been amiss either.
>>25773175You will have to determine between cosmetics and abilities sometimes.Cosmetics will make undercover work easier, and sometimes you just want a flamethrower hand. You will be able to change hand loadouts like other weapons.
>>25773177l-lewd etc>>25773147How are we so bad at not getting captured or blacking out? Did you secretly give DP the capabilities of an average marine?

>>25773192interesting, very interestingwe should ideally get 3 hands:- 1 for infiltrating, that looks like a normal hand, but we can go SURPRISE KNIFE IN YOUR FACE-1 for combat, that can EMP things and be rather versatile and strong-1 just for Adjutant so we can hold hands>>25773207hahaha, how did we think blowing up 3 firebats in a confined decompressed area was a good idea?
>>25773231My brain has a hard time registering fire and explosions in decompressed areas.
>>25773242its easy, just remember that when in a vacuum EVERYSINGLEFUCKINGTHING MOVING AT ANY VELOCITY WILL KILL YOU
