Notes on Rolls and Voting:

When I request rolls, each set of three rolls counts for one action. For example, a two-step plan would take the first 6 linked rolls. A particularly bad failure can stop your plans early.

When rolling 1d100, I will consider criticals within the first ten linked rolls. Only criticals that occur in the first three rolls will be counted as "supercrits". This is still the case even if you'd have plan long enough to require more than ten rolls.

When I roll 1d20, the rules are the same, but I only consider criticals for the first five rolls, rather than ten. Criticals in the first three are still "supercrits".

When a plot choice results in extensive debate, I'll try to weed out the most popular trains of thought, and then call a vote on them. When voting, please respond with only a link back to the post and the number corresponding to your opinion. Other votes are discounted.

Finally, note that this is not a democracy; it is a benevolent dictatorship.

Recent Events Summary:

You flew with Sir Flint to the mighty fortress of Archon, and met with the Archmage, Yi Fang, in person. In exchange for help with Abigail, and aiding him in seeking the Staff of Winds, he's agreed to help remove Flint's parasite.

Your friend, Abigail, is already twisted into a complex political situation. Fang requires his own trustworthy leader to succeed him, and he sees Abigail, his niece, as that leader. But unless she performs, her admission to the Archonium - a requirement for any would-be councilor or archmage - is in question, and while that is so, she is a target for those that would take a seat, or the archmage's tower, for themselves. Fang sees you as the "summon" that will ensure none question her abilities.

You've already destroyed a family that targeted her for their own political gain, but learned that they were only puppets of a greater threat - the councilor Hae Cheung, who seeks the title of Archmage for himself.

There are ten council seats - 9 currently occupied. Abigail requires a majority approval to be admitted to the Archonium. After securing the vote of Tae Wong, you were ambushed by Cheung's forces on the way back to the city.

With the Cheung family caught twice crossing the line, Yi Fang plotted revenge of an immediate and violent nature, but you convinced him to change his plans to that of a stealthy assassination. By replicating the appearence of Hae Cheung's favored nephew, Jun, who you've already killed, you've managed to sneak into the heart of the Cheung family household.

You met withe Jun Cheung's wife, Lanfen. You attempted to preserve the lives of innocents - including Jun's own family - but Lanfen refused to abandon you, and promised to stage a coup while you confronted Hae Cheung.

You managed to slay the councilor and his two sons. The manor below has exploded into battle. Meanwhile, you've gone to confront your shadowy counterpart - and he's even sneakier than you are.

-----------

>Last time...

You wait, too uncertain to move.

The shadowy figure behind you simply stays where it is. You're like statues, waiting for something to happen.

Another figure appears, moving toward you out of the dark.

And then another, moving from left to right across your field of view. And another, coming the other way.

There are shadows popping up everywhere!

The one headed for you is about to touch you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oU2cXCVuUY

The shadow in front of you moves forward.

You're certain it isn't real. You try to relax yourself in preparation for it to walk over you. Just a little longer...he's sure to get frustrated.

The shade steps on you.

BOOM

The shade detonates in an explosion of shadow and spirit. You're flung back into the shade that was sitting behind you!

BOOM

You're tossed forward, a flailing, smoking wreck.

>you've taken 7 damage (61/81)

You climb to your feet. Shades are converging on your position!

You draw back. There's five. No - ten. No - what looks like an army of shades, monsters of all shapes and sizes, is swarming down around you from all sides! Roars and shrieks and screams surround you!

What do you do?

>BRACE FOR IMPACT (block)
>420 Nightblaze it (assumed full power?)
>use Isolation to try and disrupt the illusions
>try to fly through a small gap in the shade army
>punch straight through the shades with Supersonic

>inb4 people bawwwing about how the mean shadow tricked us.
>>
>Knobwarnings right out of the gate
Well, that was damn fast. Still, might as well put my word in too.

After the end of the last thread, where SM basically confirmed that this shadow is unambiguously evil, there really should be no more reservations about killing it.

For what it is worth, my position for all of the last thread was for caution; For us keeping Sneaky tied up until we could confirm one way or the other his motives. Too bad noone found the connection with Fang's words on the disappearances.

But everyone had to jump to action.

It was predictable that many would leap at the thought of a friendly shadow, I did somewhat. It's also rather in-character for shadow to do the same.

Third times the charm however; From now on all shadows are eat-on-sight unless there is clear proof of their innocence beforehand.

And because it keeps coming up so damn much:

NEW POLICY

Any time we run into a character, skim the last dozen threads for mention of them.
SM always gives a hint to these kind of things, even if it is incredibly minor or inobvious.

NIghtblaze, with just enough power to cover all the shades.

Conserving mana is important here, we need enough to finish with gaping maw, and a buffer for anything else we need for the fight.

Our health is still good, and I'm guessing that this shadow is of the glass assassin type.

The priority right now is locating the true shadow, and unloading with everything we've got.

Nightblaze bursts out from you in a sphere of negative energy. It strikes the illusions, and they explode in midair, leaving the sky silent. You raise a limb to shield yourself from the wind, then glance around, trying to see if your anti-magic revealed his position.

The battle behind you isn't dying down - it sounds like it's getting more and more out of control! You glance backward, taking in the clashing auras of the lesser elements. The castle sports plenty of holes, and one of the towers has outright collapsed. The grounds flash with magical energy.

The old spirit mage in the center of the group is ushering them away as fast as he can. He glances over his shoulder at the explosions with a grim look. There's a slight panic as everyone tries to get away, but no one is hurt.

A flicker of darkness catches your eye. It's in the direction of the children! But you can't pinpoint him...

You use Deep Focus, pointing all your awareness at the children.

The mage's head snaps up. He glances into the darkness, wide-eyed. He hasn't pinpointed you, but he's definitely aware you're there.

You see him.

The flicker of a shadow beginning to imitate a small child on the edge of a group - trying to blend into the crowd. It stops when it feels your power break its stealth. For a moment, you're looking at each other, gazes locked.

It sprints across the castle grounds at top speed, trying to flee!

You Blink, appearing directly in front of the retreating shadow! Your body forms a tremendous Maw -

But it Blinks around you! You feel a sharp pain as it lands a sharp blow on you! You stretch back the other way, trying to catch it -

But it Blinks again, evading your reach! Another slice of its limbs penetrates you!

>you've taken 3 damage (58/81)

The shadow leaps over you as you grab for it, continuing to run away. It's headed right for the battle! It must be planning to lose you in the chaos.

You keep at its heels, but things are going to get crazy, fast. What looks like a veritable army of summoned monsters is battling within a hurricane of earth, water, spirit, and shadow. Mages are leaping and flying around, launching magic, trying to gain an edge as their summons maintain the front lines.

You unleash your Bind! Tendrils of Spirit magic snap out from you, expanding into a wide net!

>mana: 1/34

The shadow continues to sprint. The magic catches it on the side, and, with a mind of its own, begins to curl about its prey!

The shadow trips, stumbles, but then vanishes! It reappears just a few feet to the left, outside its bonds.

But you're practically on top of it. It resumes running, but the gap is closing swiftly.

You're at the edge of the battle. Explosions of magic rock the ground.

What do you do?!

>jump him, and drag him back somewhere safer
>try to use shadow control, then get out of there
>some other strategy
>>
>>25696662
An interesting theory, but wrong. As a person who DMs, I just get very angry when someone fudges rolls, which is essentially what is happening here. I really don't want bad things to happen to Shadow, but if it would stop this kind of blatant idiocy, I would accept it.

You've had it with this shadow. It's time to end this.

You gather your aura behind you...and around you, shaping it and your body like the point of a long spear.

An idea strikes you. You remember great powers of your earlier experiences...rotating. Dynamos, rotating. The demon lord's shield, rotating. The Sun Call, a massive, rotating disc. Maybe there's something there?

You begin to rotate your aura around you, and it begins to chance. The faster your rotate it, the stronger it becomes. The point hardens from a soft nub into a dagger that splits the air before you.

You gather in your power.

BOOM

Faster than a heartbeat, you've crossed the distance. You slam into the shadow, and pierce through it, blasting the revenant away.

It's left impaled on your aura, your speed such that it can't even move. You continue forward, past the battle, past the castle grounds, smashing through the retaining walls and into the hills beyond.

A cliff rises up faster than you can react - !

You slam into the rock headfirst. But like a drill, you grind through the slate. The friction is so great that it begins to burn your armored skin.

But the sudden stop allows you to release your power. You stand back, at the end of a tunnel bored into the rock. The shadow rests in the dead-end at the end of the cave, half-shredded, feebly trying to stand.

What do you do?

No chances. Not today.

You grasp the hunger shard.

~can I eat it? hungry...always hungry. consume...consume all of it. all the things. everything~

You can hear Darkxis's voice, a little weaker than normal, but more than ready to answer your call for power.

You roil over your enemy. It panics as you fall over it, but there's nothing it can do. It's too weak. Your erasure of its existence is...inevitable.

It fights back, but it doesn't have much left. It wasn't that strong to begin with - just good at hiding, good at bluffing. Those illusions gave you pause, but it ran out of magic quickly.

You subsume it.

Its power condenses within you...it's a familiar feeling, now. A shard appears deep inside of you spinning with darkness.

Silence.

>You've gained a Shard of True Darkness!

Shards of True Darkness: 3

Either way, we will definitely need water, so if we get it first and it unlocks we don't have to waste EXP on abilities we won't use.

To be fair, most of your enemies don't last that long. It's also hard to see the benefits of the poison and disease you inflict when you can't see enemy damage.

Poison/disease would be more relevant if you went with more magic as your build, and only used physical attacks as a method of kiting your foes. It's also more relevant when your opponents last more than two turns.

For reference, you did actually infect Chen Cheung with disease, which stopped him from patching his severed arm with magic - but you killed him real fast, so it didn't matter.

And looking at this, poison is more a bonus for the magic types.

We can fill it out when we have spare EXP, and aren't actively working toward a super upgrade.

Another thing is that it is highly unlikely there is a magic power hidden in the tiny remaining portion of poison, given that the only abilities unrevealed are elemental fusion ones.

Water works toward both mighty regen, dark blizzard, and likley a magic power as it is a pure magic tree.

>>25697756
We are trusting fang because he is integral to our plans, both with abby, flint, and the prophecy about the staff of winds.
>>
>>25697776
In other words, PLOT!
>>
You've had enough diplomacy, and spying, and killing, for that matter. And frankly, you're feeling exhausted. The Cheungs will have to fend for themselves. With no evidence of Bal, Chen, Hae, or Jun left to go on, they'll assume Jun used his trump card - and that it trumped all of them.

You feel a small smile creep up your features. Ironic - but that's exactly what happened.

You fly across the grassy highlands back to Archon, landing as needed.

As you land within Fang's tower, the sun peaks above the horizon. Today is the day of the big teleportation. You could probably fly back, but maybe Adavan or Fang could teleport you back? Flying around at supersonic speeds isn't exactly subtle, and you don't want to draw attention to yourself. But then, you'd have to tell Fang the location of your allies...and he'd immediately want to know everything, and probably refuse to help until you told him.

What do you do?

>fly back
>report to Fang with the results of your mission, then do something else
>consult with Fang
>consult with Adavan
>some other strategy
>>
>>25697756

This is true, but until Abigail is powerful enough to look after herself, we need a stable Archon with Yi Fang at the helm.

Letting these people know we started the civil war by impersonating Jun, the guy we murdered, their husband and brother, would be incredibly retarded.

We have already made a point to him that his way of going about things is stupid and he relented. And now he's overheard that Abby wishes he wasn't doing them and wants him to stop. The future ruler of Archon that he is doing all this for is completely on our side, is against his methods, and NOW he's aware that his actions aren't even helping her like he intended. We have plenty of damn influence, you're just ignoring it because it is in the form of a 9 yr old.

well, while we are waiting shall we argue about xp expenditures some more?

There are several reasons why I want to finish the poison tree. The first is because we aren't always going to facing squishy mages who can't take a hit.

The second is the completionist in me. We've gotten this far, just 3-5 more abilities. They are all pretty cheap as well.

The third reason is for Mighty Regen and Hydra.
>>
So anyone else think that the Angels are going to attack Archon? The shit that happened has most definitely been linked to us and we in turn were said to be an Archon summon and have been spending the last 2 weeks confirming that story to them. Depending on how good their intel is, Abby may even be their main target for her lineage and the fact that we're specifically acting as her summon.

In other words. The Angels have always hated Archon, but tolerated them for helping with the Black Lady. We just gave them an excuse to go to war with them. Now the Black Lady is open to do whatever she wants with front against her divided and fighting amongst themselves.

We may really need to speed up our plans for Flint and Obis to get their thrones back.
>>
>>25698071
Furthermore, we should also make a good effort to get in touch with our neighbors after the teleport and the construct city.

We just ripped a damn stalemate wide apart. We need to take responsibility.

13 points worth of EXP viable, anywhere from 12 to 25 hidden, guessing off of the cost of other border abilities.

Speaking of border abilities, we would need to get the whole top chunk of the spirit tree to get them, so the total cost goes up even more.

Even if we are going to finish the light green tree, I would rather go for analyze first, it's less of a situational ability, and it works toward completion just as surely.

>(cont)
>>
>>25698134
Very well.

Poison is shit tier, the XP can be better spent elsewhere, and where the hell did you get the idea that it, rather than the water tree, would lead to Mighty Regen and Hydra?

tl;dr Fuck. Off.
>>
>>25698156
He's getting it from Darkness Withing, which took all three physical trees completion to unlock. This is however, not sound logic, as it also required a skill from each tree to unlock as well. Mighty Regen only requires a water skill.
>>
>>25698156
because we needed the entirity of ALL the physical trees to get Darkness Within. Not just the skills leading up to it. Otherwise it'd be unlocked ages ago when we got Diamond Barrier.

As for shit abilities... I disagree.
>>
>>25698123
I think we have done some amazing things, but I can't help but wonder....where are the "higher" elements? For some reason I seriously doubt that just disappeared. AND if you remember when we cracked open our first dynamo an angel was talking to "someone" through a portal.
>>
>>25698184
regen started at the poison tree.
>>
>>25698071
>>25698115
Regarding this. We might want to try and convince Fang to let us leave with Abby for a while. Being seen in Archon is only going to confirm the Angel's suspicion and getting the young heir out of an attacked town is just common sense.
>>
>>25698187
Regardless, the Water tree probably has another Magic Power hidden in it, which is of much greater importance than a bunch of abilities that are only powerful enough to stop our regen rather than actually hurt us, aren't even guaranteed to work and probably won't work period on the targets we really need it on.
>>
>>25698149
>(cont)

Water tree on the other hand, links into the middle darkness obviously, could easily have the space to hold a magic power like the other magic trees, and gives us an element that is more effective than spirit or shadow against Shadow Elementals.

>>25698187
>>25698200
The counter argument is that it's possible that we only have to fill the tree connected (the color blotch) to unlock it.

Additionally, even if we do need poison, we would need water as well, and water is a lot less situational a tree than the poison/observe/general tree.
>>
>>25698149

I'll second Analyse.

Would we spend the remaining 2 or save it?
I vote for Saving it.

Though if spending it, I would go for Kindle on the premises of completing the Shadow tree for Darkness Within.
(this is Assuming that just getting Puppet Master will not unlock it...)
>>
the next magic power is 20 xp. Even if we unlock it we aren't going to get it right now.
>>
>>25698255

Its unlocked, there to buy when we have the XP.
>>
>>25698054
I had assumed the Hydra Train was at full speed. Tao is pretty high up there, as well.

You must survive the attack; damage great enough to kill you outright will still do so. You can still be bashed, stunned, thrown, etc; does not help against other types of attacks.
...Actually looking at it, Hydra isn't really that good. It only works against blades, literally nothing else.
>>
>>25698260
my point is we could finish the poison tree MUCH sooner then we could the water tree.
>>
>>25698255
Ice Strike is still a much more useful ability than what the poison tree has to offer, both becuase poison is confirmed to not fit our build and because it's a new magic power that isn't as similar as Spirit and Shadow are.

Analyze if probably going to be more useful in the short term, and the main benefit to getting ice strike is exploring the water tree, which we will definitely need.

We are going to need to get the whole shadow tree before we can work towards pure darkness, which will take a long time.

It's only been two weeks since we ripped the floor out from under them, and beforehand Archon was strong enough to oppose the empire.

Guys, how do you all feel about buying the Sense from the Servant tree?

I know we discussed how it would give Adavan a huge edge in protecting Abigail, and now that we're leaving Archon, it might help to have an extremely talented observer in Yi Fang's headquarters.

If and when Yi Fang decides to betray us, Adavan will have a good shot at detecting some of his bullshit via our (really really good) detection powers.
>>
>>25698390
They still have evidence that it was an Archon summon responsible for it. Which means they at least will be coming to investigate. I think at least this post >>25698222 is still worth discussing regarding this. Since it makes it harder for them to confirm anything and mount an actual attack in the future. They don't have an airship, so it will take them long to get there, they don't have a spy network, so they must check themselves. We should really get us in Abby out for the time being.
>>

>>25698546
How exactly? The only thing I can think of is to change our teleport destination to fuck with her assault. You decide that the first thing you need to do is report in to the Archmage.

As usual, you find him in his study, this time busy with paperwork of a more mundane variety. He glances up at your entrance, then sits back and folds his hands together. "Well?"

<As it so happens, Jun Cheung was personally against antagonizing you. He staged a coup to overthrow the leaders before they could force the family to throw itself against you in an assisted suicide. Hae Cheung, Chen Cheung, and Bal Cheung are dead. Unfortunately, Jun Cheung himself didn't survive the coup, but his father-in-law appears to be handling things in the meantime.>

Fang slowly smiles his evil smile. "Excellent work, shadow. This may be better than my original plan."

<I try.>

"I'll be sure to speak with Zhang Cheung, soon. When families suffer such catastrophes, we all must come together to help heal. My aid will secure their vote; they will be desperate to realign themselves in my favor, now that they're weakened. Abigail's ascension is secured. And even better - the Fangs didn't have to lift a finger to make it happen." He looks at you. "I expect her entrance to the Archonium within a few weeks, once the formalities are taken care of. After that...the staff. And then, Sir Flint."

<...Archmage.>

"Yes?"

>Parasitic - potential for a larger heal after consuming something

it is not far fetched considering we it was two abilities related to consuming. And I believe is unlikely hat the last ability to be a super poison went the Shadefang Poison already fits that bill.
>>
Has anyone considered asking Fang about that area of desert so that he thinks that's where Haven is?
>>
Rolled 286

>>25698885
I say summoning 1 because it is the least expensive. My idea is in order to speed up looking for magic power we get one really cheap power and then save the rest for a more expensive power. At least until we get the abilities that cost 2 xp out of the way
>>
Just noticed that Analyze completes a separate tree from the one in the green area that connects to water and spirit.

IS IT SOMETHING???
>>
>>25698885
Seconding but without mentioning the camp. Even if he knows about it, I'd like it for him to not know where we're going.
>>
>>25698949

We may as well buy it so we don't have this discussion again.
>>
>>25698914
True, but that line already built up to spirit siphon, there is no guarantee that the other branches have connection to that part.

>>25698932
There is no point buying cheap abilities just because they are cheap, it spreads us thin and puts points into tenuously useful powers that we may never use, rather than big powers we know we will use.
>>
>>25698951

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'd even like to see Shadow fly out at a 90 degree angle from Archon, rather than fly directly there. Haven's greatest strength is the fact that its secret, and we can't risk compromising its location in the last 12 hours that our people are in the area.
>>
>>25698960
I would second buying Analyze.

There is an off chance it might unlock something, and it also provides a means of scouting that does not break our cover like the Focus powers do.
>>
>>25698962

It could something like Soul Siphon
>>
Thanks to the fight with Silence, we now know that Shade links with Shadow Bomb to give the Shades 'Explosive Personalities'. Is this something that we would be interested in acquiring at this time?

<I'm glad things have worked out. I hope we continue forward as allies...for her sake.> You feel no need to specify who you mean.

He nods. "Of course." He stands, peering at you for some time. "...when you first told me your motive in protecting her...sheer emotional obligation...frankly, I thought you were lying outright. It didn't make any sense. But...now..." He stops, then shrugs. "As you said. For her sake. I'm glad you're with us."

<By the way, that shadow I felt arrived at the battle - likely to pick up a few scraps. I took care of it.>

"Good. One less problem to deal with."

<I've been thinking,> you say, settling a bit more flat on the rug. <The Ring City is sure to link my escape to you, Abigail, and Archon in general. Do you have any fear of an attack? And if the angels do react with war, what of the Black Lady?>

Fang closes his eyes a moment, then opens them. "The angels won't attack, not with winter setting in. Months yet. That should be enough time for Sandalphon to cool his head, though I expect some new trade restrictions - more pressure from Atlantis, too. But he needs me against the Black Lady, and he knows it.

"When Archon was pressed from all sides before, we didn't save ourselves - the Black Lady did. Her encroachment forced us to work together. The angels couldn't afford to destroy us then, and they can't afford it now."

>con't
>>
>>25699043

>Takes best of 5 rolls rather than 3
>best of 5 rolls rather than 3

>>
<How do you feel about her? The Black Lady?>

Fang shrugs. "She doesn't own any formerly Archonian territories. I care not what she does. She's never attacked or threatened Archon - only defended when we launched our joint war alongside the empire. I've actually never met her in person. If it were not for the Empire on my back, I'm sure we could come to some profitable trade agreements."

<...and the stories of her nature?>

Fang waves a hand at you. "Yes, she's a vampire, the evil empress. So? I'm a lich, for Elements' sake." He gives you a knowing look. "I've a few spies, here and there. Only her most honored nobles and generals, and few mages, are actually vampires. Her people love her. She singlehandedly united a land torn by war for hundreds of years. To them, she is the harbinger of peace and prosperity, and the rest of the world a bigoted mass of ignorants. Giving her blood is seen as a tremendous honor. Forty or so noble families provide her with blood when she needs it, and they jump at the chance whenever she hungers."

<Why so many?>

"So she spreads out the burden," he says. "You see? Not so horrible, when you get the whole story. As long as she'd agree to control the spread of vampirism - which she already does within her own borders - I see no reason why we couldn't coexist. But then, I couldn't very well knock on her door without the angels sniffing me out. It's just a bit too risky. And...well, I've got problems at home, as you can very well see. Abigail is safe for now - for now. Archon, and the Fang family, will always be a target."

What do you do now?

Soul syphon drains mana, isn't terribly efficient, and only needs spirit lash as a prerequisite now, not any of the poison powers.

>>25698993
I would like those too, but we can get them later.

Multishade would be more useful to get first, given that it synergises with our fighting style.

>>25699029
Fast blink is a burst of blinks, not a faster recharge time.

Those might branch off of it, but are not included in the power.

Also it costs 12 exp, we have 9.

>>25699038
If we are aiming for the next magic power, go water. It's more likley than banking on one of the border abilities for poision being that rather than spirit/soul poison, and water is a prerequisite to a lot of things.

Oh Hell no, Spirit Siphon is perfect for dealing mages.

>Spirit Siphon - Spend 5 to 15 mana. If successful, does minor Spirit damage, and gain 50% chance to drain all mana from enemy (guaranteed at least 1 mana gained this way). (note that the 50% chance and "all mana" denote base values, which vary depending on battle conditions and the target)

<Well, as fun as it would be to keep doing your dirty work for you, I'm afraid I've got some of my own affairs to settle elsewhere. If you've got no objections, I'll go speak to Adavan for a bit then take my leave of Archon for the time being. I'll be back in a few weeks at most if things don't go amazingly catastrophically wrong, hopefully in time for Abigail's entrance to the Archonium.>

pastebin summary:

Natural Vampires:
>created by Archon in Archon-Empire wars in supersoldier experiments
>physically strong, and technically immortal, but very weak against magic, very easy to detect for mages; basically useless in war
>some few escaped; wild vampires are exceptionally rare because they're easily destroyed by magic or sunlight; no mage ever got infected for the same reason

>and then the Black Lady. Strong mage + vampirism = crahaaazeee shit

If you had to fight a vampire, and all it had going for it was that it was a vampire, you'd wreck it easily.

Im not saying we go for them but the most likely way to find magic power upgrade, apart from poking around, would be to focus on earth or summons since we haven't touched them yet.
I would also like to say that we did unlock the last magic power up grade from a random ability (fear)
>>
>>25699139

Atlantis is very independent, but has strong ties with the empire. In any case, Atlantis has a "I do what I want" attitude and freely trades with both Kan-Abar and Archon.

The Empire, though, could leverage its influence over Atlantis to restrict trade with Archon.
>>
>>25699164
Which is why I said to make a trip there and see what's what.

We could pretend to be a powerful shadow mage recently freed from Ringed City.
>>
>>25699171
>>25699124

So...are you going to just carry the construct around with you, or something? It doesn't stealth/autotravel with you, like Wisp does.
>>
>>25699156
Fear was in the Spirit magic tree. It was not a random ability. And judging from that it is very likely that Ice Strike leads to it.
>>
>>25699125
It's a bit of a gamble. Like poison, it takes a roll to hit with, then has a secondary roll for it's effect to even trigger.

It's amazing if it works, but quite a risk and expensive to get.

Still, if we are buying base spells, i would be up for getting Spirit Lash and Ice strike, for exploration.

>>25699156
The random upgrade link for magic power looks like it is either near the beginning or in the middle of a magic tree.

It's unlikley that a magic power upgrade would be the final on a tree, given the possibility of it being the first that is run into, and thus underwhelming, not to mention unthematic.

You walk up the stairs to Adavan's quarters and knock. The door opens.

His own suite consists of orange-themed wooly carpets and dark oak furniture. He's sitting at his desk, reading. You see a large stack of books filling the remaining space. He shuts his book, "A Brief History of the Empire", and greets you. "Shadow."

>How do you think Ila and Auriel got on while we were having 'fun' in Archon?
Well, I like to think that they put their differences behind them and then fucked.
>>
>>25699585
sad to say that will probably never be a thing. Auriel is too straight for it. Not sure about Ila though.
>>
>>25699585
Well, Flint is either gonna be really happy or really sad about that.

>Surge - Form a powerful wave of water to manipulate the field of battle and disrupt enemies (5 mana)

>Frostbite - The power of frost. Freeze doors shut; create slick floors; turn enemies into popsicles. Can be used as a shield to help negate heat-based attacks. (8 mana. Note: may be resisted if used direct on enemy mage)

>>
>>25699577

>>
>>25699623

Yes, it could take longer to fly anyway right?
>>
You know. I'm half convinced that Hyperion(who was revealed to at least know what was going on when we Eclipsed) isn't really involved with the Ring City's stuff, or at least not directly in the loop. I really want to talk with the fucker. I know he attacked Erebus out of paranoia and brought him into the war but it seems Ring City is more on the fucked up side without him than because of him.

and check in with flint. see if he has a message for auriel.
>>
>>25699648

Don't forget Flints message! Auriel will kill us if we return without either him, or a message...
>>
Surge + Earthforge sounds like a fun way to just completely own the battlefield.
