>>25323379There you are!
>>25323379The fun begins
Events Summary:You defeated and subsumed another Shadow, named Darkxis, who was working with the lich Magnock, and gained a second Shard of True Darkness. Auriel protected the party with some sort of Light-based barrier, but Magnock teleported them into his lair to work on cracking it open - after finishing the job of 'breaking' Adavan. You disguised yourself as Darkxis to infiltrate Magnock's lair within the Palthair Mines and find your friends - but when push came to shove, you were forced to kill one of Magnock's close accomplices. As he confronted you, a new threat appeared - a huge presence of Spirit even stronger than Magnock himself.Magnock rushed to defend his stronghold, and you took the opportunity to reach your friends in his laboratory. But before you could escape, the Spirit mage killed Magnock and pinned you into a corner. And on top of that, you sensed a huge army and what felt like several angels waiting above the mines.Your friends prepared to teleport out of the base while you held off the mage as long as possible. But the mage, Yi Fang, turned out to be perfectly willing to talk, rather than fight. You managed to secure a promise of protection for yourself and your allies, and he led you up from the room.It wasn't long before you encountered Sandalphon - the Most High, leader of the angels. While Abigail escaped notice, he honed in on you, demanding that Fang, who was pretending that you were his summon, turn you in for study. Unwilling to endanger your allies, you submitted to capture. The angel Michael, one of the greatest healers in the world, is responsible for your 'examination'. But a curse he received from a Demon Lord has twisted his mind into that of a psychotic madman.Auriel is working with him to restore her powers. You communicated with her telepathically, begging her for help and informing her of Michael's insanity, but you're not sure if you convinced her of the truth.

Hmm should we try to juggernaut our way out of this cage? Or shall we wait for the insane scientist to return for his revenge?I say try the juggernaut.
>Last time...<Auriel.>You send her an impression of Michael - a grinning, maniacal Michael, his face twisted in gleeful nostalgia as he recalls one of his freakish conquests.<It's hilarious, actually.> His voice echoes into her head from your memories. <Bringing them so low they beg for death. There was this one woman, you see - I cut off her arms. I brought her around my quarters - that's actually the upper portion of the entire tower you're in - on a leash. I kicked her around, made her eat from bowls. She begged me to die. I told her I'd kill her if she fucked me. Best sex I ever had. I buried her in the Great Gardens, under a tree. I visit sometimes, when I need a laugh.>You hear a stumble. A concerned Michael's voice rings out. "Are you alright?""...fine," Auriel mumbles. A scuff of a shoe as she picks herself up. "I'm fine. Caught my foot on the carpet."<I wouldn't lie about this,> you say. <If you don't believe in me...believe in Flint's trust in me,> you say. <Michael is poison. Find the body.>"...thank you, Michael," Auriel says. "I'll see you tomorrow.""Until then."The door opens, then shuts. There's a long silence. You feel yourself growing tense.>con't
>>25323502Fucking yes! Also don't get discouraged, SM, I love this quest no matter the bitching from the other players.
The magic shroud falls off your cage. Michael stands there, fists clenched. His bad arm twitches with the strain. "...if you had any idea of how awful I could make your life," he says, "you wouldn't have done that. Embarrassing me - in front of her. HER!" Michael hobbles up to the cage, his crutch thumping into the floor with each step. "I won't just take what I need from you, Shadow. I'm going to make you suffer. I'm going to make you pay tenfold - with interest. You'll beg me for death before it's over. But I won't give it to you. I'll just keep going, until you're just a little drop of black ink, too weak to move - and then I'll put you in a bottle and bury you in the earth, and there you can stay until the end of times!" Michael turns, and begins to walk out of the room. "Expect me tomorrow, Shadow. Bright and early!"You remain silent. Michael slams the door behind him without another word. You feel as though you have more to say to Auriel. You focus hard...you've never needed to see another person to speak to them, but you always had an idea of where they were.<Auriel. If you can hear me...you need to protect Flint. If nothing else, keep your relationship with him a secret. You cannot trust Michael. Please, help me.>Uncertain if your words reached her, you settle back to floating at the center of your cage. The confined space puts you on edge. You're used to shifting, warping, bending as you please. Now, you're curled into a tight ball. But it's barely afternoon. You have an entire day to break free. He was foolish to leave you alone.>con't
>>25323500The sword. The fucking shadow sword. It's a Shard of True Darkness, isn't it?Well trolled, SM.
...but your cage is made of solid Light. You don't feel very hopeful. But you don't have much choice.Something wavers in the corner of the room. You clench up. Of course, Michael wouldn't just let you alone. This is his guard.Steward steps out of the corner of the room. You're too surprised to speak."Shadow. I hope your current state is not too uncomfortable."<...how did you get here? How long have you been there?>"I stowed away on the airship. I've been here since Michael returned to the room a second time, after you, I presume, harmed him."Silence.<...so. Are you going to help me escape?>"I am here to observe."You slam into the walls of your cage, ignoring the buzzing light. <Steward, this isn't the time to -observe-! What's the point if I'm captured, or worse, dead!?>"If you can escape without our aid, truly, you would make a useful ally," Steward says. "This is the current thinking of the collective. You have more than met the standards we set for your morality. Now, you must demonstrate your resourcefulness."<Steward. If you help me now, I'll sign whatever treaty you want, be your ally in whatever way you wish. This is life or death.>"Your desperation is not becoming," Steward says. His robotic voice holds no pity. "I am here to observe. Though, in opinion seperate from the collective, I wish you good luck."Somthing floats up to the window.
You sit there a moment, baffled.Your wisp is bumping against the window, trying to get inside. You watch it struggle for a moment before you snap out of your amazement. <The window. Open the window!>"I am only here to - "<By the night and the moon, Steward, open the damn window!>Steward pauses. It feels like the longest moment of your life."...it is agreed that the wisp would merely gain entrance by other means." He opens the window. The wisp zips into the room and up to your cage. It throws you an impression of itself circling you cheerily, then follows through with its own image. Somehow, though you're cut off from more magic, your summon has survived.Did it fly all the way here itself? No. Maybe it hitched a ride on the airship, like Steward.<Can you get me out of here?>The wisp stops. You see a few images play out in your mind. The wisp touches the bars of light, then puffs away in a cloud of purple smoke. You see a picture of it firing a Shadow Strike at the bars. The spell glances off and dissapates. You hunch down and think hard. What do you do?>Send the wisp on a scouting mission. Have it tail Michael.>Have the wisp tail Auriel>Have the wisp find Flint, and let him know where you are.>Maybe Ila is in the city. Tell the wisp to track her down.>Have the wisp fire as much as it can at the cage anyway. Every bit should help.
SHADOW MASTER! Is the secret you've been hinting at that the sword shard we found in thread 6 is actually a shard of darkness? Along with those fragments of a shard we found later with the isolation shadow?
>>25323591>Have the wisp find Flint.Let's not risk its destruction by Michael.
>>25323576ok if we are able to break out what are we going to do next? Super Sanic out of ring city or stealth our way out?
Hey, could we... like... meditate on the Hunger Shard, and bring it to the surface? Use it to CONSUME a hole in the cage and break out? I remember we could move the two shards around while we were meditating.
>>25323591OH MY GODYESTHANK YOU BASED WISP
>>25323591>Have the wisp tail Auriel
>>25323635>>25323628>>25323618Yes, yes. Give orders to the wisp, first, and then I'll give you your own choices. Essentially it can help you break out, if that's what you're going with, or it can act as your spy while you meditate on your shards/think of something else
>>25323591Can we take a look around the room for switches and such? We could tell the wisp to toggle any if we can see any. I know we're in a light cage that was made earlier but it seems prudent to look.
>>25323635we could try that but it's almost guarantied HP damage at the very least
>>25323591>Have the wisp find Flint, and let him know where you are.
>>25323576<You have my thanks Steward>Have Wispy find our magic. Maybe, if we can get that back, we can then use our anti-magic abilities to dispel the cage...While Wispy is on his hunt, we can meditate on the shards. Isolation might be a good one for a 'farewell' to Micheal... Though Hunger is good for eating attacks...Also, I assume that we can't regen health in the cage...
>>25323674We can restore HP damage quickly enough. It'd be worth it to be out of this damn cage.
>>25323691Our magic isn't gone, it hasn't been taken, it's just suppressed by the cage.
>>25323591>>25323613Next time we have a chance to meditate, we should focus on the sword shards, maybe try and reassemble them.>>25323618Seconding this. Trying to track Michael when he was able to tell that we were communicating is an exercise in futility. We could also ask it to scout around a bit.>>25323635We would probably end up breaking the shard, if it worked at all. We just used it to eat the light attack.
>>25323558.... can we try and eat the cage?
>>25323672Seconding looking around Michaels lab for things that our wisp can interact with.
>>25323713We already tried piecing the shards together, but we couldn't because we're missing pieces. My guess is those fragments we found could help to stitch the sword together.
We need to escape. Too bad I wasn't here yesterday to convince anybody of buying either Compress or Gaping Maw. Small auras can be hidden near big auras and no one would have asked the Archmage to hand over his shadowy armband even if it was noticed. The second would probably let us destroy the cage.>>25323591Ideas:1) Berserk. The incurred harm could most likely be survived and we regenerate fast. We would need to leave immediately (after eating some magic equipments) because there might be sensors.2) Have the wisp examine the room. Maybe something here can help.3) The wisp exists. We can not be completely cut off from magic. Maybe there is a way to use spells.4) Meditate on our shards. Have the wisp/Steward awaken us in a couple of hours because we will lose track of time. Might lead to:5) Combine Hunger Shard with Berserk.
>>25323379IT'S SHADOW TIME!>>25323591>Have the wisp find Flint, and let him know where you are.
>>25323635I'm thinking this is our best chance to get out. If both of the shards have a maximum of two uses before needing to recharge., then this would be our second use of the hunger shard.
>>25323591>Have the wisp find Flint, and let him know where you are. And, if possible, tell/warn Flint of Michael being with Auriel.
>>25323591Wait, I got it! If the wisp can impression as good as we can, why not give it a full recording of all of our interactions with Michael thus far? That way, if we send the wisp to one of our allies it can give them the information at their leisure instead of knowledge bombing like we did Auriel.
>>25323762We could even include Auriels interaction with Michael if we send it to Flint. That will get results.
>>25323762That's perfectly feasible. Who will you send your wisp to?
>>25323762This is a good idea. I say we send it to Flint.
>>25323792Flint seems popular. Is that a go?You can have it look around the room for a bit before it leaves.
>>25323804Yup, send it to Flint.
>>25323762A good idea if I say so.>>25323804Flint is confirmed.
>>25323727Maybe.Going over them and the True Darkness together might lead to something.>>25323747It's also possible that damage to the shards is proportional to the extent we use them.Isolation almost broke from blanketing the Vog, Hunger would probably break if we tried to eat out of a cage formed by the highest of the angels.>>25323804Yep, we seem to be sending it to flint.A little local scouting wouldn't hurt though.
>>25323804I'd certainly want to know if it can interact with anything in Michaels lab before we send it off, but when we send it off I think Flint and>>25323762>>25323785Are good bets.
>>25323804>Flint seems popular. Is that a go?Spike up his desire to help us!And let's look around the room too. See what else is there.
>>25323822>>25323827Check out the room first.
>>25323822We don't have the other shard, the one we found in a chest. That was in our little utility belt, which we left with Fang.
>>25323804Look around a bit before it leaves. There might be something in the room that we can use. Either as evidence to help convince Auriel, or something that can help us escape.
>>25323804First scouting then Flint sounds good.
>>25323847>SpikeSpark up his desire, I meant.
>>25323712ah. I misunderstood the situation then.In that case, While we, dare I say it, Trust Ariel to follow up on the Micheal lead, Get Wispy to give Flint >>25323762also, has anyone removed the blasted sheet? if so, see if Wispy can tug it off before he leaves...
You thump a shadowy fist on a shadowy palm.<Wisp. Remember this information.>You send the wisp a long impression, essentially your memories of your capture and conversation with Michael. The wisp sits quietly for a moment, the sends you a sort of affirmative.<Also remember where I am, right now. Before you leave, take a look around the lab. See if you can find anything interesting.>The wisp zips around the cabinets and starts throwing them opening. You peer at their contents.Roll 1d100
>>25323591Another bright side is that once we get out of this we should have secured Steward as an ally.
>>25323804What? No! The Angels are looking for an excuse to discredit/kill Flint if they can't establish control of him. Why in the hell would we send a minor shadow elemental to him when the darn this will probably be detected by the enemy?
Rolled 44>>25323879Weehee observe roll!
Rolled 13>>25323879Rolling for wisp-bro to find something awesome!
>>25323871>also, has anyone removed the blasted sheet? if so, see if Wispy can tug it off before he leaves...Michael removed it before he left. He didn't bother putting it back on.
Rolled 11I hope our observe is enough to boost that to something useful.>>25323879rolling a second time just because
>>25323890It wasn't detected before, so that's basically why we're trying now.It also somehow got here without being detected. To be safe let's also tell it to only contact Flint when he's alone or only when he's surrounded by our friends. That should be good.
>>25323908Remind me, does Focus or Deep Focus require mana?if not, since everyone know Micheal has a shadow elemental in his room, us doing a quick 'ping' shouldn't have everyone up in arms...
>>25323944well we did get balance. Might as well get some use out of it.
>>25323944We are also a little harder to detect while doing it thanks to what we bought last session.
>>25323908Anyone else felling like using focus/deep focus to check out our surroundings?
>>25323932Seconding telling wispbro this.
>>25323971It's out of range. We should tell Steward to make himself scarce again, we wouldn't want him detected in the meantime.
>>25324011Steward can simply make himself invisible again. He somehow managed to escape detection after all.
We are strong, can we punch the cage out?
If we do escape we gotta eat everything in this lab.
>>25324011We should also tell steward to close the window when our wisp leaves so Michael won't suspect anything.
>>25324011Pretty sure steward is absolutely fine. I think he's probably the best stealth character so far- if we gave him Obis's cloak he'd be the most OP assassin in the setting.
>>25324025This should be our first attempt at escape. Pop Berserk and try to bust our way out.
honestly if we can find a switch to turn the cage off it'd be best. But yeah either use Juggernaut or CONSUME the cage.
>>25324061I'd prefer we focus/deep focus first before trying anything, if it's an option.
The wisp throws open more cabinets. Wood slams on wood. It knocks over beakers as it goes, sending them rolling around the lab tables. The wisp flies into the reagents cabinet and begins zooming around. Bottles of powers and liquids go flying."I would recommend caution," Steward says. The wisp apparently doesn't understand what caution is. It lands in a tub of white dust and then blows out of it, sending powder flying across the room. It lands on a stone table and begins hitting switches and levers and knobs connected to the large purifying apparatus.Liquids begin to flow. Black ooze drips out of one container. A spark flashes on one end of the contraption. The white powder ignites in a green-white fire!A beaker flies toward you like a little missile of magic. It slams into the side of the cage and explodes in a plume of flame. You flinch in alarm, but the cage apparently keeps everything out, as well. You are unharmed. But the cage isn't. One of the rods of light is bent at a sharp angle. You probe at it. It feels significantly weaker. The wisp hovers in front of you. You glance over the room. The lab is a wreck. Shards of glass cover the floor. The apparatus still sputters and heaves.Steward just looks at you. "Your summon has given itself away."<...could I ask you for another favor?>Steward doesn't say a word. He moves over to the laboratory and begins to clean up with robotic efficiency. In just a few minutes, he's restored everything to its previous position, even fixing up the apparatus with spare pieces from the cabinets. "Assuming the angel does not do an inventory of his glassware, your secrecy should be assured. I can do nothing about your cage, itself."You look at the cage. Maybe......you gasp the bent bar. It stuns your hand, but you ignore the sensation and bend the bar straight. It snaps back into position. You bend it out, then in several times.>con't
>>25324061Oh, yeah totally. LETS TAKE MASSIVE HP DAMAGE FRO NO GAIN GUYS.
>>25324025We should probably give Auriel a day to verify our story about Michael's victim before escaping. That revelation should solidify the schism between her and the empire, and we can use that to sow dissension within their ranks.
>>25324085It would be a roll for breaking anyways, but....>>25324079
>>25324079Put it back in place! We need to hide our escape route!
>>25324104>waitNo, waiting is never a good option; ever. For all games and for all time waiting while trapped is bad. It's a theme. It's been how it is since cages were a thing in stories. No wait'n in a cage.
You test a shadow at the edge of the cage. You're shocked, just as strongly as before. You flinch back from the contact.Well...maybe not -just- as strong as before. You're still still locked in...but.You look around your tiny cell. 1 bar down. 13 to go.<Wisp.> The wisp stutters to a halt in front of you. <Find Flint, and stay quiet. When he's alone - or only amongst allies - give him all the information I just gave you, and tell him where to find me. If he asks for you help, follow his instructions. Otherwise, report back to me.>The wisp zips out the window. Steward closes it behind him."I'll be observing," Steward says. His green core glows, and then he vanishes. "But you've had two favors too many."Well. At least you got a little out of him. What do you do?>Use your strength to try and damage the cage.>go berserk. You're getting out or bust.>Focus on the Isolation Shard.>Try to strengthen the Hunger Shard. It feels a bit worn down...>Meditate; rebuild your own strength.>Use Deep Focus to try and sense beyond the cage.>some other strategy
I agree if we can get out now we should seize the chance to do so.
>>25324141Oh, question. Does Snuff work on magic light?
>Use your strength to try and damage the cage.Lets do it!
>>25324153Focus on the Isolation shard. We're isolated - time to master this Aspect of Darkness.
>>25324153>Try to strengthen the Hunger Shard. It feels a bit worn down...
>>25324161Any light source, including magically-created lights. If the light is from a spell that is being actively maintained, then you'd have to roll for success, which would be dependent on the mage and the light in question, etc
>>25324173That'll do jack and shit.
>>25324171Seems like this would be a waste of time - besides, what happens when we only damage the cage moderately and Michael returns to find us all battered from escape attempts? He'll only triple-reinforce the bars.We need to continue weakening the cage imperceptably so that when we DO bust out, it's guaranteed we escape.
>>25324153>strengthen the Hunger shardDude save our ass, return the favor.
>>25324187lets try Snuff.
>>25324205I think Doom Aura would be better.>Doom Aura - Puts out all lights in an area at once. Large penalty to dodge if used during battle.
>>25324153>Try to strengthen the Hunger Shard. It feels a bit worn down...Can't have anything happen to our favorite
>>25324218Seconding doom aura attempt after strengthening our Darkxis bud.
>>25324205Premature, we need to take out a few more bars first. Or use focus to locat the external power source for the cage and find some way to attack it (preferably with Flint).
>>25324153Fixing the hunger shard back up seems like a good idea. We might need it to tear away more of the cage or survive another attack.
>>25324237I'll second using Deep Focus. we'll need to plan an escape route, and at least, should anyone investigate, we are still 'in a cage' and 'harmless'...
I think we should talk to the Isolation shard. That fight was one of our more dificult ones. Compared to Isolation Darkxis was a cake walk.
You decide to meditate on the Hunger Shard. You'll then test out Doom Aura and see if it has any effect on the cage.Roll 1d100. First three for the shard, second three for the aura.
>>25324245The power source for the cage is Sandelass, he's the one that made it? If I recall correctly.
Rolled 74>>25324281Watch me roll a 1.
Rolled 67>>25324281now for DOOM
>>25324079>>25324153So, Wisp-bro got detected and our solution was to send him straight to Flint? (no roll for success)... Great plan guys.
Rolled 22and a third roll just because>>25324281
>>25324290>>25324291>>25324293>>25324294>>25324297>>25324301Nothing below a 35. That's not terrible failure, at least.
>>25324300Our summon would only have been detected if someone came back and found the workshop a wreck.
>>25324320Shadow Quest: The bets at mediocre rolls.
>>25324281We have no plan for how to hide/escape after breaking the cage right? I wonder if Michael's going to pin this on Auri (last person besides himself in the room and she opened the window even if it was later closed). I think she'd make a great fall girl for the Highest.
>>25324346Our plan for after we break out of the cage is consume some shadows, or guards. Then find Michael and consume him. Then Mach 5 our way out of here.
>>25324346And hopefully, very hopefully, she's smart enough to try looking for a body.
>>25324367Straight to Fang, to get that fucking sword fragment.
>>25324377And then... maybe off to Geb?
You focus on the Hunger Shard. It's a tiny, glimmering core of black-purple light deep within you.It feels like you, but it's separate from you. Distinct.A voice floats up from the depths.-eat. Hungry. I want to eat. The robot looks tasty. Eat it? Eat the cage first-<Darkxis...is that you?>-me, you, you, hungry? we, hunger. Your hunger. I-It seems that the personality of Darkxis doesn't distinguish itself much anymore...<We need to fix you up.>-Eat. eat the world. eat everything. consume it-You focus your power on the shard. You run your essence along the shard, smoothing it out, warming it.It returns to the state it was in before you used it to defend yourself against Michael. You draw away, and the voice fades. You glance up. Gold light streams in through the window. It's late afternoon.A thought strikes you. You push your aura out...blackness, to counter the light of the cage.Your aura strikes the edges of the cage. It flashes white hot, reacting strongly to the darkest of your shadows! You manage to withdraw before it can do any damage. What do you do now?>use your strength to try and damage the cage>focus on the Isolation Shard>try to strengthen the Hunger Shard again>meditate; rebuild your own strength>use Focus or Deep Focus to try and sense beyond the cage>some other strategy
>focus on the Isolation Shard
>>25324377Do me a favor and check to see if our internal shards resonate with the sword before we Consume it. It would not be funny if we destroyed a powerful artifact because of a hunch based on meta information that has not been explicitly confirmed.
>>25324408Meditate, heal ourselves. We don't want low HP for what Michael may have planned.
>>25324346Plans:1) Surprise attack Michael. Consume, purchase some stealth abilities, sneak out. 2) Burrow out, we are strong enough to easily rend stone, harder than mundane tools, don't tire, don't need to see, don't need to eat.
>>25324408>>focus on the Isolation Shard
>>25324408Ping Deep Focus, then meditate
>>25324408Hold on just a sec... Can we blink out of this bitch? Or does that cost mana that we don't have, or does the cage prevent that?
>>25324408Did we burn any mana just now? >meditate on the isolation shardSee if we can use it to block pain or put up a shield or something.
>>25324408>focus on the Isolation ShardI know we can use the feeling of "Isolation" but maybe it has other powers? It did have that insane regen ability.
>>25324408Try to use the Hunger Shard like a knife to cut the bars.
>>25324481We have no magic, and Blink is magic. Doom Aura is not magic.
>>25324408Use Deep Focus to see if we can get a feel for the immediate area, make sure their aren't any unpleasent surprises outside on the off chance that we escape in the near future.Afterwards, or if Focus fails, time to meditate and do some reflection.
>>25324481Supposedly we have mana, but I don't think we can blink out (I thought I suggested it yesterday, but then again my visual of the cage was very different then than today).
>>25324481Worth a try? We should be able to blink to wherever we can see within range.
>>25324499>We have no magicDid you not read what SM wrote earlier? or what everyone else has been saying? We have our magic, its just that the cage is suppressing it
>>25324489It will break. Bad plan.
>>25324515The phrase "we have no magic" was meant as in "we have no magic available" not "our magic is gone".
>>25324408Focus on the Isolation Shard. We need to find out how to utilize these shards properly and we're getting closer to understand how to use them properly.
>>25324517It's our best chance of getting out. Unless you want to meditate on the hunger shard again and make it even stronger. Which will almost assuredly land us at the mercy of Michael again.
>>25324515I think he meant it in the sense you meant. To clarify, you don't have access to Blink.------------------------You'll meditate on the isolation shard. You'll then 'ping' Deep Focus.Roll 1d100

>>25324636so, so, so much irony.
>>25324636Clearly, the dice gods enjoy our pessimism.
And it turns out when disconnected from everything, Isolation (who I suggest we call Solitary) opens the cage for us.>in before nothing happens...
>>25324632I wonder what it all means.Maybe we should start striking out on our own after all.
>>25324636you know had we suggested that we do something that could/would have gotten us out, it would have been 2,1,6...
>>25324636i am in love with the fact that this is the most alone we have been since the escape from jacob's landing. we are in a better posistion to understand isolation than we have ever been before
>>25324683>dat insightI bet that's quite a bonus.
>>25324694>dat bonus...If it wasn't there before...
You push your way into yourself once more.Isolation glows with a sickly green light. It hums deeply. You've never felt more alone than you have right now, trapped in a cage in the tower of angels that could destroy you with the flick of a finger.A deep, terribly sound resonates from you. Green power ignites around the Shard of Darkness. Cracks of green energy spark from your form, striking the inside of the cage. The light flares in an attempt to contain it. Three of the bars twist sideways, bent at odd angles. The shard sits there, vibrating. Silent. Ready. You test yourself on the cage. It looks the same, but it's effect on you is noticeably weaker. With a bit of jostling, you bend the bars back into their proper place. <4 down, 10 to go,> you think to yourself.Outside the window, night has fallen. You know nothing about your surroundings. You use Deep Focus.A static haze clouds your senses. The cage resists your power. But your awareness expands past it. You thank Isolation for the help.Things are indistinct, but you can sense a few things. A great light that must be Sandalphon takes residence in the highest tower. Hundreds of smaller lights rest in the city itself. Seven bright, burning pools sit below, in the foundations of the complex. Four of them are Light; one each is Fire, Wind, and Lightning. You can see lines of power running up through the buildings and structures from the source of mana.Your awareness continues to grow......and something grabs your attention. Small, but concentrated. A bank of both Light, and Shadow...it's several stories deep in the earth, far below the fortress.Another light, just a story beneath you, is bright, but quiet. You assume that might be Michael. What do you do now?>use your strength to try and damage the cage>try to strengthen the Hunger Shard>meditate; rebuild your health>use Focus or Deep Focus again; look at something specific>some other strategy
>>25324822>use your strength to try and damage the cageI think if we focus on the 4 damaged bars we might be able to bust out.
>>25324822now would be a good time to try Juggernauting the cage...also, I suspect the bank of Light and Shadow is where they keep the souls of the Shadow mages. The question is, if we eat the bindings, do we also eat the mages? If so, then we should just run a 'smash&grab' on them.At least that way, we're not Kiting Geb to the city as a distraction...
>>25324822Meditate and regain health, we're going nowhere right now with less than 1/3 of the bars weakened and we'll need all the strength we have to resist Michael when he returns with his revenge boner.Pun possibly intended.
>>25324822>regain our health and break outor>break out nowHmm..
>>25324822>try to strengthen the Hunger ShardWhy not?
>>25324890Because time is of the essence.
>>25324886Seconding this indecision...
>>25324822>meditate; rebuild your healthTHEN we break out.
>>25324903>>25324886When in doubt, 1d2.
>>25324822>meditate; rebuild your health

Rolled 2>>25324916Sure.1 - Meditate2 - I'm the juggernaut bitch!3 - this poster goes to get lunch.
>>25324923and then we can be at less than half health with an incoming Michael, if he senses/hears us in his sleep.Although that would be semi-bullshit considering everything that's happened so far and he still hasn't noticed.
>>25324905but it is night, we want to be gone by morning...There is no time to be lost...Also, I want to try and free the shadow mages. Angels are dicks, and do dickish things to them. So that is why they are not allowed nice things...that and it's harder to pin 'evil' on shadow mages when they don't have any to do said evil under their orders...
>>25324954Ok, so I was thinking before, elemental spells get a bit more powerful if you turn them into a whirling vortex instead of just chucking the energy as is right? Well, we don't have to worry about getting dizzy, so anyone else interest to see a tornado of shadow star rampaging?
>>25324965The only way to get them out safely would be super sonic into the distance if we... could free their souls and then also somehow put their souls back in their bodies and then somehow take them to the surface to escape.
We should keep trying to weaken the cage as much as possible. Use Doom Aura ( Its not an spell so it most work) and shadow eater to make the room darker.
--------------------------------------You've decided to meditate and rebuild your health.Roll 1d100
Rolled 20>>25325031Guh. I hate this choice.
>>25325024Wouldn't shadow eater remove darkness from the room?
Rolled 65>>25324882This. I'd feel more comfortably with busting out with 8 or 6 bars, but with the bars in position but weakened and Wispbro fucking with Michael's science equipment, we have an excellent shot at escaping tomorrow night flawlessly.
>>25325043Then we can try strengthening hunger again and letting him have a go at the other bars first? Any other ideas as to how to weaken them quickly would be nice.
>>25325041If their is no light the darkness will some return and we could have our strength back. We will have to eventually overpower the cage with physical force.
What are the chances we'd be able to steal Ilas soul away from the angels, along with a few others. Possibly by hiding them in our pocket dimension?
>>25325087As far as we know, the cage itself is the only light source in the room right now though... I expect there are more that haven't been pointed out though.
>>25325149About as good as us buying pocket dimension anytime soon?
>>25325149Considering we don't have the XP at the moment, zero.If we had it? We don't have the slightest... complete hint... that we know how to take souls out of living people, take them out of wherever and however they're held, or how to put them back in. I'm also gonna guess that it's not exactly common knowledge.
It's dark, but you aren't regenerating.Maybe if you focused inwardly...You fall into yourself.>you've healed 12 HP (41/52)Time passes as you heal.Being alone...is lonely.Isolation throbs slightly. It knows. It understands. It wants to be unleashed at the source of your frustration. You think on your situation. How did you get here? You trusted Fang's plan. He seemed to be in control. But was that your mistake? Maybe you were meant to be the sacrificial lamb the entire time, to distract Sandalphon from Abigail. Maybe he has no intention of coming to your rescue. Maybe he played you like a fiddle.Even if it was simply bad luck, how would he help you now? Why would he - what could he possibly leverage to secure your freedom? Maybe he's even glad for this turn of events. Maybe you were a potential problem that needed removal.Did you make the wrong choice?...your friends escaped without harm. You took the hit, but in that sense, you succeeded. Abigail is safe. Adavan will keep an eye on her, at the very least.Abigail.You've tried to help her. To be there for her. To protect that innocence...because you cherish her easy acceptance of you. But people......people.They're a liability. They slow you down. They walk when you could fly. They run - but you could outpace sound itself. These grand figures you mingle with come burdened with problems, and they attract yet more like dust sticks to old books. And look where it's gotten you.You feel fed up with the world.Abigail is the only person who didn't flinch in terror, or examine you with revulsion, or spit on you in derision. Abigail. She's halfway across the world. You feel so alone.Isolation rings again....there was another. Ila, the shadow mage. Auriel looked at her in the same way she looked at you. Like a bird eyeing a rotting worm it doesn't really want to eat.But who knows where she is.>con't

Flint. He's stood by your side. He gave you a chance. That's worth something. That's important. He's more -human- than any of these other humans you've met.But the rest of them couldn't care less about your existence. Most of them immediately despise it. Humanity, at large, doesn't want you around. It would prefer you gone. Dead. Forgotten. If that's the way they feel...then perhaps you don't want them around, either. You're bothered by the hardness of your own judgement. Are you no better, if you label them all at once, unequivocally? But you can't deny that you feel persecuted. No - you ARE persecuted. No one in this world seems to care about what's right. The leaders of men are concerned only with their own ambitions, their maneuverings, their one-sided arguments and petty disagreements based on something as superficial as the color of magic they were born with. How can you convince people to abandon their old prejudices while you're ground between stones of power too great for you to move?Maybe you can't. Maybe the fact that you're bothering to try is the problem. For the first time in a long time...you feel unsure of what you should do.But your worries will have to wait. You're still caged. It's getting light outside the window. What do you do now?>use your strength to try and damage the cage>try to strengthen the Hunger Shard>some other strategy

A team of angels enters the room, lugging heavy equipment. It looks like a bigger, nastier version of the thing he tried to use on you the day previously. They drop everything off, throwing you suspicious looks, then move out of the room.A crutch thumps across the hallway outside in a steady, even pattern.Michael enters the room, closes the door, and locks it tight. "Good morning, Shadow." He waves a hand. The machinery assembles itself around your cage. It forms a square U-shape around your head. The inside is bristling with rods and diodes and sharp sparking parts. You draw yourself away from the bars, glaring at the grey-green steel."This," Michael says, knocking the metal, "is adamantium, internally lined with an aluminum-copper alloy of my own design meant to channel away any offending magic." He grins, then leans casually on the machine. His bad arm dangles like a limp fish. "But I brought something better, today. Mage! Get in here!"If you had a throat, you'd gulp hard. He's called in extra help. But who could possibly help him?Ila walks in through the door. Her eyes widen when she sees you sitting in the cage."You know, I was thinking," Michael says. "I've been fighting fire with water for a hundred years. Why not try some fire on for size?" He runs a finger down Ila's shoulder, letting it linger. She either knows better, or is still too stunned to react to his touch. >>25326128oh please he already had her most likely as well as more than half the other female shadow mages.
>>25326164That wouldn't accomplish anything, we'd just be weakened from the effort and at Michael's feet.

>>25326304When we see Auriel again we send her an impression of this and say <I have no idea why you would ever want to be an -angel- again.>
>>25326329It would be more apt to say exactly what we are telling/communicating to her, rather than just "telepathy."
>>25326077Look very closely at Michael.<"I thought the live human sacrifice offering was another one of your human anecdotes...">
>>25326354>>25326354Thats probably a really bad idea. She might be forced to turn over any information she knows about usShe might already be under orders from michael to relay all of our communicationsShe completely obeys the angels. It doesn't matter if she doesn't want to. Until shes out of their influence, im going to veto this as hard as i can
It occurs to me that given Michael's underlying mental state, blasting him full force with the Isolation shard, in much the same way we did those hivemind creatures in the tunnels, would probably destroy his mind outright.
>>25326445It may be a good thing to try after we're free from the cage, so the cage won't be a factor in containing it.
>>25326474>>25326445Break out Isolation combo.
Were we planning to rescue Ila or not?Because if we do, who thinks using servant on her might be a good idea?
Assuming that all the shadow elementals running about have their oh shtick (hunger and iaolation so far), what do yall think OUR shadow embodies?
>>25326445Preferably right before we're ready to break out, to keep him from interfering. Then once we're out we consume him, whispering to him that he'll never be alone again.

>>25326509I would assume we are "Reason" or something like that. It would explain why we're a sentient being while the others were basically animals.
>>25326509Logic, reason, justice, something to that effect. Something that requires higher reasoning.
>>25326537Darkxis was sentient. He was just a stupid hugry dick.
Rolled 24>>25326509our actions say justice. but i like inclusion. but it is to close to hunger. but i like the idea that we are the part that welcomes all things into the darkness. no matter what, the darkness will always welcome anyone who seeks it. and it is never far away
>>25326554>>25326528>>25326563>lel they think we're justice or reasonWe're Pride. No way we aren't.
>>25326570If we were pride, we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place because we would've ran to save our skin.
>>25326570Nah, pride wouldn't sacrifice himself to be an angel's slave.
>>25326570...Considering that pride gets buffed from those who adore it and dislikes anything that condescends to it, you may be onto something there.
Guys, I just had a thought. What if the sorta-orange color we need to unlock Shadow Totem is actually fire? I think that would make more sense.
>>25326509We might have been a simple shard, but we are more now.For the more we keep in contact with loneliness and hunger the more they become apart of who we are. What was once three shards will combine to make one singe being. The shards have shard edges because they are a puzzle that needs to be solved.
>>25326603We didn't think of it as a sacrifice. Most people expected to live, and the one that felt dying was a possibility considered it an ego stroking hero death. In character, Shadow didn't feel like this was a certain death.Pride isn't always being a selfish asshole only.
>>25326603Pride isn't selfishness it's self-respect. We've kinda got a lot of it-but at the same time I don't think pride is the answer even though pride compels protection for things (like our ideals) that give us pride/self-esteem.
>>25326629Nah, I think the reddish-pink color that's part of the summoning tree is fire. Then Earth is the dark brown in the top left corner. Then spirit is the orange in the bottom left. So the orange-ish color is probably some kind of fusion, or something else entirely.
Rolled 16>>25326077See Ila, remember everything Michael has said about women, take all that emotion (steal it from humanity and temerity) and crystallize a fucking Wrath Shard out of it.
>>25326657That would kinda make sense. It seems like the Fire folks do know a lot about summoning.
>>25326682inb4 that's the solution to getting Darkness Within
>>25326682Yeah this guy was to pay, not for the things he is doing to us but for all those he made suffer and so that no one else is hurt by him.
>>25326703And Isolation had some crazy regen.Maybe we just need to tap into him for Mighty Regen.
Rolled 35>>25326657nahh earth is the top right corner. everything that we can see that crosses into it fits with earth. Reinforce>increased durability for objects. seems earthy for mePocket>a mixture of shadow for fucking with the nether, and earth for physical object manipulationShadow Totem>it even says it makes the totem out of a mixture of shadow and earth. and references another talent in what i assume is the earth tree that lets golems be programmed. the top left is simply strength
>>25326741Oh god was that the hint?
>>25326507Obviously. But first we'd probably need to get her a shit load of therapy to deal with all the godamn trauma that her life has been. Otherwise she's going to cause a lot of collateral damage lashing out once she gets her freedom and the PTSD kicks in unrestrained by external, unbreakable controls.
>>25326771Given that he hinted that we "had the key for 25 threads" last thread, and thread 6 was where we got the sword shard, I'm guessing it has to do with working with the Shadow Sword.
>>25326794There's also the problem before that. The knowledge we need on how to transfer souls, break soul containments, what not to do, etc.
>>25326771Who knows. There's no sense in Schattenkrieg being unlocked (unless we are the shard of swiftness, projectiles or something along those lines) if the shards are actually involved.
Rolled 48>>25326751ahh here it is>Machina Loquiit says it lets us program the shadow totems. so i guess that implyed that there is a golem programing ability. that we havent seen yet. but that seems to me that it would be in the earth tree. probably on the other side of whatever abiltiy unlocks shadow totem>I have to say SM, i love this talent tree. very well laid out, and with the background colors being useful. the only thing i dont like is the trees that have no start. like the water magic tree or summoning. we had to bumble our way into getting those.
>>25326815Oh right, that thing we left with Fang.>lol
Rolled 60>>25326830alright lets look at what the difference betwen schattenkrieg and darkness within. the main difference? we have filled out the entire tree that leads to that one. and SM has said he has a thing for completly filling out trees. something about he is a completionist
>>25326815Which does us no good, considering that we don't have it anymore and it's unlikely we'll ever get it back.
>>25326794>Otherwise she's going to cause a lot of collateral damage lashing out once she gets her freedomThat might not be such a bad thing, depending on where she is when she gets free.Like, if we managed to free her here in the angels' city, for example. They deserve whatever she could do to them.
Next time we have a glut of XP I want to get all these little things taken care of. Like soundless, and twisting gloom. Just for completion's sake.
>>25326824That is potentially surmountable with auriel's help (spirit mage with potential angelic allies? she could probably invoke her authority to get a personally complient spirit mage for a project...) though you are probably right. What I'm saying is that if we manage to free her, we shouldn't just empower her to make bad choices before we're sure that the influence of her experience in captivity is not going to be the driving force of her decision making process.
>>25326894I disagree. If she's likely to harm the tripe civilians and nobles that's... that's GREAT!If we get free from here we could possibly upgrade our stealth and then go around eating all the citizens! A city can't function without citizens! It's a lot of temerity and out of character but damn would that be spitefully interesting.
>>25326911>before we're sure that the influence of her experience in captivity is not going to be the driving force of her decision making process.I honestly don't know how it couldn't be. Imagine freedom for the first time, in a long time, or perhaps ever as far as your memories are concerned. That's a strong feeling.
>>25326894>They deserve whatever she could do to them.I think her first concern will be getting out safety instead of getting revenge immediately. So don't worry about that.
>>25326931Even aside from the obvious out of character issues, I really doubt we could eat enough citizens fast enough to actually disable the city in any meaningful sense.Besides, SM has already stated that we get a diminishing exp return from eating low level enemies, so I don't see much point in slaughtering civilians even if they're working for our enemies.
Yknow I bet we're not pride. I'd put my money down on justice or maybe something like freedom.Anyway this would be a good time to set out our long term goals. SM said two threads ago that in this world we are either a cog or mechanic - the duke and Yi are mechanics, because they scheme and they control their world. We haven't shown anything of that magnitude even though iit's within our power. We are cogs.If anyone has some goals here for ring city lets voice em. I for one think we should consune the dynamo of that warping airship they have- cripple the angels power over the rest of the world..
>>25327056I think disabling that airship would be great.I also think establishing a base of power somewhere where only we can reach easily would be a good idea. A place easy for us to defend. A cave within a chasm inlaid in an isle or some such thing.
Rolled 76>>25327056humm. just thinking about the airship. that is some major force projection abilties. a huge troop carrier/bomber with the ability to appear anywhere at any time. the only way you can feel safe is to make them not use that force on use, by allying, have a high enough troop densety that no matter where they appear you could beat them, have a fast enough reactionary force to get to anywhere you consider important only a few hours shy of instant (and that only works if they arnt looking to pillage and burn and then get the fuck out), or make it to where they know that they could not escape the attack alive.
>>25327106We don't need to breathe and we can fly faster than sound. How about we fly up where there's no air and make a shadowy space station.
>>25327056Ideally we would preform two main acts of sabotage.1 - enjoy a delicious Dynamo.2 - Free the enslaved mages.
>>25327128Might need to get some better blinking to get there fast enough, before the sky sever rips us apart.
>>25327133Sky-sever is now CHOO CHOOO tier.
>>25327128>>25327133Makes me wonder, how high and how far does the sky-shred go anyways? As far as there is air?
>>25327056I'd rather like to destroy whatever apparatus they're using to separate the souls of enslave mages from their bodies.I mean, freeing Ila is great and all, but imagine if we could break them all free at once. Hundreds of mages suddenly free, with a desire for revenge against the angels. The angels would be slaughtered.
>>25327128...How would we make a shadowy space station?
>>25327128I was thinking about just hanging out on the moon but then i realized the sky sever would fuck us up
>>25327133I know about SS. But if we can get high enough fast enough it can't do anything. Thin air hurts less, no air doesn't hurt at all.
>>25327162Only if we didn't get to spess fast enough.
>>25327154They probably have a back up plan for such a thing. It may be better to just carriage them away if we actually wanted to help them.
>>25327138Actually, I wonder if Steward would be willing to help us steal a Dynamo.
>>25327162Hijack an airship, fly it to the edge of space, blink from there.
>>25327187He's already got the dynamo he was after. I'd imagine he wouldn't give a fuck.
>>25327179Oh shit that may be a thing. If we get particularly high, even 80,000ft, the damage of the sever might be mitigated.
>Go to top of mountain>Make manapool>Stack shadow turrets on top of eachother endlessly>Climb it to avoid sky severWe space shadow now.
SHADOWS IN SPAAAAAAAACE
>>25327209Magical space elevator? Oh god how horrifying.
>>25327187I kinda don't want to use him anymore. He said he'll be our ally if we can demonstrate how capable we are. So he might just help us as soon as we escape and deal with Michael.
>>25327196One dynamo is nice. Two is better.
>>25327209>Make mana pool on moon>Coat in turrets>Death star
(if mana pools function much like a liquid, we could make it rain shadow mana)
>>25327209As stupid as that sounds it is an amazing idea.
If we could eat the dynamo of the remaining airship and get out it could be great.
>>25327209>make fortress and a mana pool>turrets turrets everywhere
Rolled 51>>25327228were capable after we bust out of this cage according to him
>>25327252First we force the crew to fly it over the capitol building of the angel's city, then we eat the dynamo so the ship falls on the building and 9/11s them.

>>25327258Whoooaaa man i just got an idea, like- we could totally just make mana turret dynamos and then like mana turret airships and then mana turret bombers and make mana pools in mana turrets and program the mana turrets to shoot more mana turrets and whoa.
Rolled 45>>25327272Hooray for terrorism
>>25327154Why nog instead of consuming the dynamo, we break out all of the mages and blink that shit away? Angels wouldn't be able to follow, and damn, we'd have a fucking army and a ship that can go anhwhere whenever we want! We could be shadow pirates. To this end, when we consume Mike, we should invest heavily in stealth. Prison breaks are not a obvious thing!

>>25327329Shit sorry I wasn't clear. I meant we could break out the shadow mages and escape using the airship's teleport.
>>25327385Airship already used teleport, it's down for another month.
>>25327412But don't they have two airships that can teleport?
>>25326850>>25326850They all flow into each other, starting from our base shadow powers, in a way that i find very satisfying
>>25327423We ate the other one, remember ?
>>25327412Some time has passed since it last used teleprt. The airship warped in to slay magpenis, and must have needed to travel manually back to the city. It would not be unreasonable to assume its warp is up again.
>>25327449Ah right, I'd forgotten about that one.If we keep this up, we'll herald a new dark age without powered flight.
>>25327508Giving Duke Vellik an incredible amount of logistical power if he actually manages to accomplish his dynamo research.
>>25327505One month for time for recharge, I don't a even a week has pass, so no.
>>25327508> If we keep this up, we'll herald a new dark age without powered flight.Good.
>>25327179>>25327185This is assuming we're faster than the Sky Sever. We're not.Whenever we've flown it catches up with us after a few moments. It's why we do the hop thing instead of outright flight.
>>25327508don't worry when we figure out how dynamos work we will bring forth a new golden age of flight
>>25327593You have a couple minutes before it starts up. It may be faster once it gets going, but we have the head start.
>>25327593Well, logically speaking the thinner the atmosphere is the less the sky sever would be able to do. If we rocketed straight up at Mach 5 it would only take 47 seconds to reach the mesosphere, and 58 seconds to reach the Karman Line. After that it's basically space.
>>25327544Then we could simply use the airship to fly out normally. It'd wreak some havok, but it could work. I just want to get out of this coty of angels with more than we went in with - the single most useful airship wouldn't be a bad find I don't think.
>>25327660...Huh. So this idea isn't as crazy as I thought. The question is, just how fast exactly is our supersonic? Also, keep in mind Mach is a variable, mach 5 is slower and slower as the atmosphere gets less and less dense.
>>25327680I hate to be a pessimist, but the airship probably has a large crew and several angels on board. It would be hard as fuck to hijack.I know we've grown much stronger since our fight with Raziel, but we're hardly omnipotent.
>>25327630The head start's handy sure, but its magic.>>25327660This isn't earth, who knows how high the atmosphere is, and 47 seconds is plenty of time for the spell to target us, and since we're still technically above the proper height, it may hammer us even in the atmosphere, it's magic after all.And this is all overlooking the massive task of reentry.
>>25327703We'd probably have to spend at least 2 minutes exposed to the sky sever before we got into the thin upper atmosphere.I dunno if we'd make it.
>>25327703Mach 5 at ground level is Mach X in thinner atmosphere, where X>5LessAtmosphere=MoreSpeed=QuickerEscape=LessAtmosphere
>>25327756Which is where the space elevator made out of shadow totems comes in.
>>25327660we don't travel at mach 5, I think. Just supersonic, not hypersonic.
>>25327756Nahh, what we know about the sky sever is that it uses the air to whip and tear at flying objects. It would then follow that if there was less air the sky sever would do less damage. If we were at full health, we might be able to accelerate faster enough that we got out of the atmosphere fast enough to still have a fraction of our health left.
>>25327660The main problem I see is that we don't know if our flight would work in space. I mean, we've always manifested wings when we fly. With no air, we might not be able to control our movement. We could end up drifting through the void forever.
>>25327721Yeah I get you mate. This is how ideas come together. This though is where our shadow mage bros would come into play - they're an army of slaves-turned-free which specialize is stealth. We could have our own army of shadow sneak aboard the ship and ice the stationed soldiers. They'd probably know how to fly too, seeing as they've been slaves and all.
>>25327808If I remember correctly, supersonic is mach 1.2 to 5.
>>25327814Our supersonic flight seems to function by coiling shadow energy behind us and then expelling it all at once, so explosive propulsion. Like a small scale nuclear pulse propulsion engine.
>>25327782How would this space elevator even work?As I recall, living and inanimate things at that height are still targeted by the spell, which is why the airship was torn apart.
>>25327814Shadow is the element of void.Maybe getting to space would let us eat the shard of the universe and gain ultimate power.
>>25327843Only if they are disconnected from the ground completely. Just make a huge tower of totems.
>>25327809And the fact that we can conjure up darkness is lost on you.The spell can probably conjure up the air it needs to whip our butts.
>>25327844Shut up snapple
>>25327822Mmm, and it was never stated what level of mach we are. And mach 5 is hypersonic.
>SM comes back>Reads spess shadow plans>Posts some laughing man reaction imageI have seen the future
>>25327822>>25327892I would assume we were just barely over the speed of sound. After all, we carried Flint in that state. If we were going too fast, he wouldn't have been able to breathe and would have died.
>>25327864Fairly sure trees are connected to the ground and there was some point made about them not growing too tall.I could be remembering wrong though.
>>25327868Riight, sure. I bet even if we got into a stable orbit a few hundred thousand kilometers above the surface it would totally still attack us. Hell, for all we know there are coils of air whipping at the sun and the other planets and the moon.I think it's more likely though that it just dissipates past a certain point that. That seems far more likely.
>>25327918Not being able to breath isn't the first thing that would kill you from going too fast, but yeah.
Rolled 9>>25327888he could be right you know space being shadow element was mentioned before
>>25327941Yeah I'd be more concerned about the G-forces squeezing all the blood out of his head and into his feet.
>>25327925I didn't say it'd go all the way to space, but within the limits of the planets atmosphere, it could probably still function. And once more, this isn't earth, we don't know how this planet functions. For all we know, this world is flat.We really should get some more info on that.
>>25327960G-force is more a function of acceleration than of speed. Provided we took like 15 seconds or so to get up to speed, our passenger wouldn't die.
>>25327844>The sky sever was all to stop Erebus from bringing all of space down upon his enemies
>>25327999Ah, right. My mistake.
>>25327981Let's supersonic through the water and see where we go. ...Just pick an ocean and see if we arrive on the other side of the world. Or stay over water and be like a supersonic skipping stone of shadow.
You know, this thread is probably going to fall off the last page before SM gets back. Is it archived yet?
>>25327844Void is pretty seperate from void really.Shadows happen when you have a light. Darkness happens when there's a complete lack of light.Void is absence of everything.

Why not use adamantium to help protect ourselves from the Sky-Sever, as the airships do? We can probably find an empty suit of armor somewhere, and if not, we can just take one that is already occupied and remove the occupant. Then we can test its effectiveness.
>>25328127I bet Earth Magic can give us admantium-like protection.
>>25323379Yessss! Get out of the hospital just in time for Shadow Quest.
>>25328127I think it was the adamantium PLUS the magic of a dynamo shields the ship with the metal as a conduit, but your suggestion is good anyways because the metal is strong and valuable. Let's keep our eyes out for a chance to nab some.
>>25328054It's archived. And as usual, the anti-questers tried down-voting it to get it removed. What baffles me is that they do this but don't even up-vote threads that aren't quest threads.
>>25328199Could be eight downvotes, could be one angry munchkin and seven proxies. I think everyone judges quests more on what's actually being said in the threads, how the QM interacts with the users and how the threads are progressing. If there's little to no one in the actual threads voicing their dislikes then the votes are as meaningless as they are on any website.
>>25327290Due to extensive research done by the University of Scholomance, Mana turrets have been confirmed as the hardest material known to elementals. The research is as follows. 0 Mana-blinded mages built a wall of Adamantium and crashed an airship into it at 400 miles per hour, and the airship was unharmed. They then built a wall out of airship and crashed an Adamantium mana turret into it at 400 miles per hour, and the wall came out fine. Then they crashed a 0 mana binded Joey made out of 400 plates of Sir Flint's spagooti into a demon lord and there were no survivors. They crashed 400 succubutts per hour into a doorknob traveling at waifu airship. Western Venia was powerless for hours. They rammed a wall of wisps into a 400 shards of darkness made of lolicon liches, and the resulting explosion shifted the world's orbit 400 million miles away from the moon, saving Venia from a Shadow Master the size of Auriel's Hyperion blessed tits that was hurtling towards mid-western Palthair at 400 billion sky-severs per hour. They shot a Shattenkreig made of Shadow Servants at an ignorance potion moving a 400 mana pools per hour, and as a result caused over 9000 wayward Michaels to lose track of their armless rape victims, and make a F.A.T.A.L. crash with over 9000 lost princes in Downtown Kan-abar. They spun 400 Shivas at Scruffy knob gobbler into uncaring spiteful dicegods per MagCock. The results were inconclusive. Finally, they placed 400 Yi Fangs per Shel'Kath in front of a Dynamo made of human copulation traveling at supersonic per Nether, and the result proved without a doubt that mana totems were the hardest material of all time, if not just the hardest material known to elementals.

>>25327272>>25327258>>25327232>>25327660>>25327844>>25328282You guys. YOU GUISE.Holy shit, I haven't even considered space. I totally want you to do this. Mobile Shadow Satellite of DOOM.However...the Sky-Sever is a problem. A big problem. A really, really big problem. You'll have to deal with that first.>>25327914You know me well, anonymous.>>25328713I'm so proud.----------------------------------Time for writing!Next post in a new thread.>>25328802.........I can only respond to this in anger, so I'm going to use the golden rule, just like mom said.>>25328843NOW WE'RE TALKING
>>25328813We've only ever heard about her from people whose nations are at war with hers. She might not be all that bad.I mean, we've killed hundred of people and eaten their souls, we've summoned a demon, we've destroyed two airships, etc. and yet we're still more or less a good guy. It's all a matter of perspective.
>>25328830>That file name.Holy shit I don't know why I laughed so hard.
>>25328843>replicate Auriel>shove tentacle up arse>blast isolation>punch his dick from within>ink into him from mouth>explodeconsume from veinsIt's a plan.
>>25328815Vog waifu movement originator here. You've done well my son, soon we will crush these other inferior waifu scum and rule this quest with an iron fist.
>>25328843This isolation, crawling in my ass it will not heal.
I don't know what tried to eat half of Michael, but we better finish the job.
>>25328874That's actually an interesting plan.Take on Auriel's form, and call for help saying the Shadow escaped and locked us in the cage. Then reveal ourselves and kill Micheal in a slow and suitable cruel manner.
>>25328895Not proper haiku form. This isolationWrithing about my assholeIt shall never heal.
>>25328874I love you, anon-kun!
>>25328901Or maybe we can just poison the other side of his body and leave him a crippled, bed-ridden wreck for the rest of his light-extended life.
>>25328933That's what I was thinking. CONSUME his good limbs, and the pretty half of his face. Then just leave him there. Maybe CONSUME his tongue, inner ear, and eyes as well.
I'd rather CONSUME him completely. He's the type to never learn.
>>25328909Well we should've thought of that before he burst in with his Adamantium death trap and Ila in tow. If we survive this current buttfucking, we'll revenge buttfuck him by enacting the Auriel replicate plan.
>>25328933He's a superb healer. I don't think our poison is potent enough to do that. Also, let's tactically remember to keep him away from any mana pools or give him time to heal.
When we escape, could we try to summon and let it fail horribly, in the center of the city?
>>25328949>Leave him a deaf, blind, paraplegic, mute.God damn, that's harsh. He probably deserves it though.
>>25328968I wasn't thinking actual poison, but whatever shadow damage scarred him, if we can figure out a similar curse, that'd be awesome.
Rolled 85, 87, 16, 78, 63 = 329>>25328970oh dear, demon lord time
>>25328895To the tune of Linkin Park's "Crawling in my Skin"CREEPING UP MY ASS, THIS WOUND REQUIRES SOME ICE!
I'm okay with our more...angry demenor these days. I like to think we're still JUSTICE but maybe we enjoy kicking someone while their down a little.
>>25328984Probably up there on our magic tree. I hope.
>>25328990We're a shadow elemental Judge Dredd.Michael betrayed the law. The sentence is death.
>>25328970That reminds me: SM, can we forcefully break our own control over a given summon, or do we have to fail a control-break check when unsummoning?
>>25328990> I like to think we're still JUSTICE but maybe we enjoy kicking someone while their down a little.Justice is not nice.
>>25328990we're full justice, but we aren't beyond hurting people who truly deserve it.
>>25328933Personally, I want to grab him and perform the legendary 3 mile supersonic suplex as a finisher.
>>25328990The pain he has inflicted on all his victims demands justice in retribution.>our face when we break out of the cage
>>25328978>>25328949That's a great idea. He can heal but Auriel told us that it's near impossible to regrow/replace limbs when we discussed healing with her.
>>25328984>if we can figure out a similar cursehes like that because of a deamon lord, im not sure if having that ability is even possible
>>25329026>the legendary 3 mile supersonic suplex
Whatever we do to Michael, I'd wager it won't be anywhere near as bad as what Illa would do to him if she could.
>>25329050Eating his good limbs, eating his eye-balls, eating his tongue, eating his pretty side, eating the rest of his hair. Even a super healer won't be able to fix all of that.I'd like to see ANYONE top that.
