Hello and welcome to another edition of Succubus Lord Quest! Last session we decided to head to our new room as the Royal Mage. Upon getting to the tower, we discovered that we had a new personal maid assigned to us who has some interest in the occult, Linda. After grabbing a dress from her, we decided to head off to go see the twins. After deciding to head to the bath house, Brooklyn spilled the secret of him used to being a human and then offered the chance for the twins to become Succubi too. While Stacy was full on board, Katlin seemed to be somewhat nervous about the whole ordeal. During the conversations, we also learned that the Okarians and Miyians in Old TO are at war with one another. After all this, we decided to summon a Queen up, just for the twins to meet up with them and ask any sort of questions or concerns to them. And we now continue from where we left off! Also if you have pictures of Succubi, then by all means post them!

[1/2] The bath you have with the twins is both quite long and superbly relaxingly. To say that your life has been turned upside down is an understatement. You’re not a soldier or a person used to the constant stresses of the Battlefield. You’re a scholar damnit. You’re more at home studying lore and puzzles. Both the mystical arts and intense studying sessions have been putting a toll on you. If anything this bath session is just the thing you needed. Hell, you may check into having more in the future. You know for a fact the Langy nobles blow a ton here, and you’re damn well going to be spending just the same amount otherwise! Once you (reluctantly) finish your bath, you head out and get the ingredients needed for the summoning ritual. A bit tricky finding some new places. Most of the places you go to don’t believe that you’re the Langy Royal Magician. No surprise as everyone in town knows the royal magician spot has been empty for years. Still a little flexing of your suggestion power makes getting the required ingredients a snap. “Are you sure that these ingredients will actually summon up a Demon Duke?” Katlin asks as you close the door to the suite you rented Red Fox Inn. “Actually it’s more of an audience ritual, not an actual summoning one. Those are... far more complicated given the circumstances.” you say looking around the room. A fairly large two person bedroom with dresser, mirror, chamberpot, a basket full of fresh snacking vegetables such as carrots, and other things in the overly priced room. “...Yes this room will do nicely.”
[2/2] “Is there anything we can do to assist?” Stacy asks. “Yes, just move some things out of the center of the floor please.” you say as you roll up the rug. “And a little warning, it tends to be a little bit showy, but you’d be in no danger.” The twins help move some of the various around the room while you begin drawing the circle. When performing the ritual, the twins seem confused at first. Just like everyone else who had seen the ritual in addition to yourself. It is only when a small ethereal breeze begins picking up speed in the room before becoming a hurricane blitz that the twins seem to become somewhat frightened, then holding each other in terror as the dark violet smoke seems to stream out of the candles, pooling up into a silhouette of a winged shape in the center of the room with bright rose coloured eyes rising from the ground. Once the figure is out of the ground, it forms the shape of a Succubus with light pink hair that goes a little behind her neck. What does catch you off guard is that Roselle, the one you summoned, is wearing pajama pants. The twins just stare at the figure, their expected heart-attack level of fear inducement now stopped head on by slamming into a brick wall at full force. You yourself are just staring blankly at the succubus queen in pajama pants. Both mortified yet somewhat expecting it in some way. “...What? You expected someone to look different when you summon them at nearly 22:00?” Roselle yawns while pulling up the hips of her pajama pants.
>>24848150These two girls wanted some advice on what being a Geminie entails. I could ask [other queen] if you are too busy...
>>24848150"Roselle, meet Stacy and Katlin. Stacy and Katlin, meet Roselle. These are the twins I mentioned before. They have a few questions and I was hoping you could give them some answers."We might want to head to the shrine and speak to all the queens at once about the Succubus in-fighting. Get more details from the twins later.
Right, anyway these are the girls we discussed before. I figured it was time to let them ask a few questions to an expert before they make any final decisions.
>>24848150"You know, I keep getting feeling I should have asked when would be good times to call you guys..."Moving on though... Katlin, Stacy, meet Roselle. These two wished to know more about your clan and any details you think they should know. "I'm hoping you'll answer any concerns or questions they'll have."
[1/3] "Roselle, meet Stacy and Katlin. Stacy and Katlin, meet Roselle.” you say introducing them to each other. “H-Hello...” both the twins say nervously in unison. “Allo.” Roselle replies with another yawn and this time a stretch. Her wings stretch out to the point where you can see them phase through a chair nearby.“These are the twins I mentioned before. They have a few questions and I was hoping you could give them some answers. ...Or you know I could call Carine inste-” “Oh non non non! I’ll do fine!” Roselle says immediately snapping up to full attention. “...Your accent, do you speak french by any chance?” Stacy asks Roselle. “Oui. Je parle francais.” Roselle immediately replies. Stacy and Katlin seem surprised by this, in which the twins begin conversing to Roselle in the french language. You have no idea what they’re saying, but judging by the laughing the twins are having and the smile that Roselle has, it must be funny. “Uh... Sorry to be a buzzkill, but can we speak a language I’m familiar with? Please?” you ask. “On my home planet all anyone ever spoke was french...” Roselle mutters to herself. “Well first off the twins wanted to know more information about your clan. Specifically the details of it straight from the source itself persay.” you tell Roselle. “Absolutely. What do you wish to know first?” Roselle asks the twins. “How strong are the urges to be together with your partner?” Katlin asks. “Quite overpowering. They’ve got to be in a potential line of sight. You could be separated in a crowd of people, but so long as no opaque walls separate the Gemelli then they’ll still be fine.” Roselle says.
[2/2] “How long can Gemelli can separated from one another?” Stacy asks. “Such a thing varies with practice, as it is like a muscle in of itself. Af first you’d probably last no longer than... 20 seconds before your hands start to shake. This is the time that most Gemelli seek out their partner again. Most sane people will let Gemelli’s be with each other, as if you keep them part for too long then they get... violent. They’d only stop for food and sleep and try to displace anyone getting in their way by force.” Roselle says. “We’ve heard what happens to Gemelli after their partner dies from Brooklyn, is it true?” Katlin asks. Roselle’s face turns to one of pained sorrow. “...Yes it is. Many Gemelli will either enter an extreme depression or homicidal rampage if their partner dies, the latter usually against whomever murdered their partner. It is often regarded as a mercy kill against the lone stragglers, and the only joy I take in doing such a thing is that their suffering ends so they can once again be with their partner in the afterlife.” Roselle replies. “Then doesn’t that mean Gemelli are terrible in direct combat?” Katlin asks. “Non! Gemelli are very good in combat! The only thing most people expect from Gemelli is that stealth and deception are often pointless. Fighting as a team is one of the greatest strengths of the Gemelli, which with their natural abilities allows them to do so quite easily. You may think they’re vulnerable, but you will not say such a thing once you’ve seen them in action.” Roselle warns. “Also don’t discriminate on Gemelli in combat roles either. If the Gemelli groups are anywhere near as organized a few hundred years ago then they’d take quite the offense to being told that always having a partner is a disadvantage.” (Anything else you think that needs mentioning?)
Whatever the twins decide, we should tell them not to answer right away. Take some time to think on it and give us their answer next time they are in town.We should do this for a few reasons:1, We want to make sure they've thought this out and aren't rushing into anything they'll regret.2, They'll only be in town for another day or two. We'll want them to stay with us for a while so we can teach them how to be a Succubus. They can work something our with their Dad so they can stay with us next time they visit.3, Giving it to them before Amanda would really hurt her. Not sure how badly it would hurt our relationship with her, but it's best avoided.
>>24848768Except Amanda doesn't even know of the existance of the twins, nevermind that we are turning them.Ask maybe about their mental abilities. Being able to think as one should make them quite more intelligent than the average person But Is this so? (( like a dual core being better than a single core ))
Sandact6 is EGO.
>>24848720we want to mention that the Okarians and Miyians seem to be in a sort of gang war in old T.O. and that we suspect that the Pride Demons are using broken agents as agitators.
>>24848885I'm pretty sure they've run quests simultaneously before.
>>24848885...what does Ego run?
>>24848849If we start hanging around with two noob Succubi she'll probably be able to figure out we turned them. Also, even if we could keep hen in the dark, the other two reasons are still valid.
>>24848984That's proof they're on at the same time. EGO takes hours to write anything because he leaves himself lots of time to juggle multiple quests.
>>24848888>that we suspect that the Pride Demons are using broken agents as agitators.Get the feeling we shouldn't say this... yet. We really don't know what's going on beyond they're fighting. Yes, it is possibly but so are a number of others. Maybe ask if they're truly no way to tell a broken from non-broken or some such thing. But state out right that without any real proof doesn't sit well with me.
>>24849023EGO ran that FATE quest right?I hate the Nasuverse. The only thing I've enjoyed out of it is Battle Moon Wars and that is because I am a diehard SRW fan.Believe me, I ain't him.
>>24849119Yes, he ran that one fate quest. He also quit in a rage when people started calling out bullshit within the quest too.
>>24849158Well then clearly Sandact isn't EGO, as he's quite reasonable when disagreements happen.
>>24849158Yea I can't say I ever paid attention to that quest. I have no idea what went on in that quest.
“What are the mental abilities of the Gemelli like? I assume that something like two brains is often better than one.” Katlin asks. “Oui, Gemelli are very good at learning in general. For what our clan lacks in natural aptitude, we make up for it by being good generals. We can often do things like take shifts on learning new things, and often what one learns in terms of skills can be easily transferred over to another.” Roselle says. “So you’re saying that Gemelli have the knowledge and skills of both partners?” Stacy asks. “...In a way. You can send information about a skill or information. It won’t be as good as actually knowing it, but it still will be enough information in most cases.” Roselle says. “Magical skills cannot be shared this way unless in extremely specific circumstances. While you can often send your partner the explanation of how you use your ability, to the point where you can tutor someone, you’d need to spend your own time training to actually learn magical abilities.” “Then rituals cannot be done this way either, as one of the key things for magic in general is learning how to flow the aether through your body, correct?” you ask Roselle. “Oui oui! That is correct! This makes Gemelli very skilled in general. One should remember that while magic is nice, skills are of vital importance too!” Roselle says. “What about you Brooklyn? Have you been training up your mundane skills as well?”(In addition to answer, anything else you wish to be asked?)
>>24849246Yup. I should probably do more axe work though.
>>24849246Well, Yes. But not in the way that I have been training magic...My tea is Delicious though.
>>24849246"Would tea count? Joking aside, I'll admit there is some things I need to work on or train but my list of things to do as a whole is... well quite large."I can't think of anything really for her to ask. Most of stuff would be Oksana or Miyu areas.
>>24849246"A bit, but not nearly as much as magic. I still haven't learned how to fly."
>>24849246Suggest to the twins and Roselle that they coat themselves in tomato sauce and nest next to garlic bread.
>>24849246Well, If we're not going to ask any more queries, we might as well ask the twins to report on the succubus war and ask for advice. Prepare them for our visit so they can have time to think.
>>24849504I don't think succubi make nests.
"Would tea count? Joking aside, I'll admit there is some things I need to work on or train but my list of things to do as a whole is... well quite large." you tell Roselle. “I... still need to learn how to fly.” “...You... haven’t learned to fly yet?” Roselle just gives a small sigh to herself and shakes her head. “Sacré bleu... We all assumed you’d be learning that the very instant you were able to.” Upon mentioning this as well, you can see the twins whispering to each other and looking at you while giggling. “I’VE BEEN VERY BUSY LATELY!” you say defending yourself. “Oh! There is one more thing I wish to ask!” Katlin mentions. “If you’re a Gemelli, who’s your partner and where is she?” “Don’t have one.” Roselle replies. “...But you just said that all Gemelli’s have o-” “I’m unique that way.” Roselle replies. “...Really?” Stacy asks. “Yes.” Roselle replies. Ah crap she’s doing it here now even...
>>24849679"She's lying, her partners name is Carine and they're having a feud right now. Shit's Jokes.
>>24849679whisper to the twins that we'll talk about that when she can't hear us, touchy subject you know.then: >>24849508
>>24849679"Please don't try to misinform the potential new Succubi. You love each other and you know it."
>>24849718Perhaps we should wait until she's left to tell them this.
>>24849679"So we've moved on to the part where you pretend she's dead now? Cute. Though, I must ask, how many times have you two done this?"By the way Carine is her partner in crime. They seem to be feuding at this time."
>>24849764yes yes YES!
>>24849679"Well, not unique. Your parter also seems to do a good job of not having a partner."
>>24849919I like this one
>>24849796>Have we ever seen Roselle and Carmine together? Cuz I'm starting to wonder if they're alternate personalities...
>>24849964us no but the other queens have apparently
>>24849964I think we did once.
>>24849964Maybe? I really can't recall now.
>>24849919This. Then, if she doesn't try to kill us, follow up with >>24849764.
[1/3] "So we've moved on to the part where you pretend she's dead now? Cute. Though, I must ask, how many times have you two done this?” you ask. “Je ne parle pas anglais.” Roselle replies."Hu huh. I may now know french, but I know damn well what that means. You two love each other any you know it!” you tell her. “JE NE PARLE PAS ANGLAIS!” Roselle replies with a bit of anger in voice while starting to blush. “She’s lying by the way. Carine is her partner, but they appear to be having a feud at the moment.” you tell the girls. “...So Gemelli can hate each other?” Katlin asks. “Oui, they can. It is often a serious issue to have Gemelli with partners who hate one another.” Roselle replies. “How do you figure out whenever a Gemelli will like their partner or not?” Stacy asks. “I mean isn’t that hard to do when all Gemelli need to do is touch one another and they’re set for life?” “The correct answer is very early and very carefully. Gemelli is a new race as far as demonic sub-races go, but one thing common to all Succubi is that most magical maturity is suppressed unit puberty. This includes the Gemelli urge to be together. Often times clans have identifiers which can give an estimate on what clan a Succubus will be. If we determine it to be a Gemelli at around age six or seven, the parents go to work arranging a potential partner. Once a partner is found, the parents then take joint custody of the Gemelli children, who at the point spend all the time they can together. When a Succubus enters puberty, then all of their magical traits also awaken, but curiously if the two Gemelli have a strong personal bond, then the urge to find another partner will be put on hold for about a year until the other Succubus also awakens to her powers and the bonding is complete. Often a small party is held, and many Gemelli treat the bond date as something akin to a birthday.” Roselle explains.
[2/2] “And this works? Don’t the kids protest this?” Katlin asks. “Usually parents seek partners that are compatible. Indeed such a process can take a year and a half, but that’s alright since the early start date provides quite a bit of leeway to scan for potential partners. While perfect matches are nice, ideal matches are often the most realistic, ones in where they don’t often fight. Some Gemelli prefer to both have children at the same time to avoid any issues of searching for people, but sometimes if one of the children is not a Gemelli than a search for a partner will begin again.” Roselle replies. “Even if the future is something completely alien to me, I’d imagine my clan still does this sort of thing.” “Wait, Succubi can be different castes than the parents?” Stacy asks. “Oui Oui. One of Oksana’s daughters is a Laminian, while Lamia herself has about three Belkarian, two Okarians and Ayarians each, one Gemelli and Aide, and two Miyians. Granted she has Laminian children outnumbering those. So while the mother caste does seem to have a priority on this, the effect is not absolute.” Roselle replies. “...Lamia has THAT many kids!?” you ask, completely bewildered by this. “...Oui... We’ve talked to her many times about this. But she is a good mother so we tend leave her be for the most part.” Roselle replies. “Only Janine has had more children, but that’s only because she’s nearly as old as the rest of us put together.”
>>24850349Can they be vanillas?
>>24850349Am I the only one to find it slightly offputting that the demon queen getting pregnant most often is the one that can't look any older then 12? I mean, good for her and all I guess, but at the same time... /facepalm
>>24850336I am suddenly very interest in how new demonic sub-races arise, but sadly this is not the time to ask. Before Roselle leaves we should mention that we'd like some more information on it the next time we visit her (don't say "the queens" out loud).
>>24850481Given that she's several centuries old I think I can safely not give a damn about her sex life. If she were actually 12, then I'd have issues.
>>24850481She's legal and knows what she wants, can't really begrudge her that. And might actually have the highest Sexual Arts skills of the Queens, or at the very least very close to it.>>24850349"That's a lot of kids, I'm guessing a lot of them ended up as her Vipers.I figured that the two of you were about as close as mortals get, loved each other a lot, and already spent most of your time with each other so becoming Gemelli wouldn't end up with the on and off relationship Carine and Roselle share. Oh, something you and the others might be interested in, the Okarians and Miyans are bickering, violently, in Old TO, something about the Miyans hating the witches and the Okarians hating the techno-geeks. I'll look into it in further depth later."
>>24850481Can't look any older than 12 is a somewhat vague restriction, she may not be able to appear as an older teen but that doesn't mean she always looks prepubescent. Given her age, knowledge of the general age older civilizations deemed appropriate for sexual activity, and knowledge of when kids start having sex in modern society and how careless they can be.Honestly I'm just not surprised, especially considering Lamia's personality.
[1/2]"That's a lot of kids, I'm guessing a lot of them ended up as her Vipers.” You say.“About half, perhaps a little less than that. The rest merely wanted to live out their lives just like other mortals.” Roselle replies. “That seemed to be the case for most Earth born high ranking nobles. It is only the children of long lived Succubi, such as Purple, Janine, and I who had Succubi who followed what we considered the more ‘traditional’ roles. ...As much as tradition meant when your race is 200 years old, which is considered a freshly born baby in terms of most other societies period let alone demonc ones.”“I figured that the two of you were about as close as mortals get, loved each other a lot, and already spent most of your time with each other so becoming Gemelli wouldn't end up with the on and off relationship Carine and Roselle share.” you tell the twins.“Hm... You do have a good point Lady Brooklyn. If anyone could handle it, I think it could be us.” Stacy says. “We’re nearly joined at the hip anyways.”“But even twins can spend time apart.” Katlin replies.“This is a big step yes. Immature Gemelli often spend the last bit of freedom they may have doing things that they would normally do alone. ...Whatever is a good idea for such young children, but still I’d suggest possibly making most of your last night where you two can be alone without any problems.” Roselle replies.“Oh, something you and the others might be interested in, the Okarians and Miyans are bickering, violently, in Old TO, something about the Miyans hating the witches and the Okarians hating the techno-geeks. I'll look into it in further depth later." you tell Roselle.Roselle looks at you for a few seconds as if you were mentally challenged. “...Quoi?”“Yes, in Old TO the magic Succubi and Science Succubi are well known for having a blood feud with each other.” Katlin replies. “They’re... quite violent about it too.”
[2/2] Roselle looks at the twins for a few seconds before sighing and running her hands over her face. “Sacré bleu... Miyu and Oksana are going to explode over this...” “Have they’ve always been rivals?” Stacy asks. “Oui, but not like this! All of the Queens were friends with each other. I’m not sure of the exact specifics, but they were known for having a friendly rivalry but never resorting to killing each other!” Roselle says. “I’ve... got to tell this to Oksana and Miyu. I don’t think they’ll be that happy about this...” “Good luck.” you mention to her. “Merci, I’ll need it. It was a pleasure to meet you both Ms. Stacy and Ms. Katlin. Now if you excuse me, I need to be off to tell Oksana and Miyu the bad news.” Roselle says as her figure fades away into pink smoke. “...How will this Oksana and Miyu handle such news?” Katlin asks you a few seconds later. “They care about their respective races, but they’re pretty chill. They’ll be angry but I doubt they’d be THAT angry.” you reassure the girls. Just as you finish saying that, the room you’re in shakes a little bit. Barely noticable but enough to be felt. “...Or not...” you then add to yourself.Upon feeling the earthquake, the twins now look a bit shaken themselves.
"They'll probably want me to fix it when I head to Old TO."
>>24851046...did Roselle really just out the Succubus Queens to the twin? Why, am I even surprised...Well, as much as I'd like to give Amanda some freedom to choose her sub-race, we're going to need a Miyan in tow when we head to Old T.O.
>>24851046"You know, the timing of this makes me suspect that this conversation is why that happened. But that would make my life too simple and straight forward, the universe just can't let that happen so something must've gone awry somewhere nearby. I'll check on it later if another earthquake happens. So girls, did this answer some of the questions you had? Assuage any fears about it? Did it help you come to a decision about what you want to do?"
>>24851046sigh "I will probably have to fix it, like always."
>>24851046So uh, what do you want do to tonight? Also, if you want to become Gemini do you have any idea how we could convince your father to let me train you guys long enough such that you can manage.
>>24851195We could always Suggest that it's a good idea...but since our mind magic wears off fairly quickly I suppose we should come up with a legitimate cover story. Like the twin staying to help coordinate contracts and orders pouring in to her father for goods and services to be used in the reconstruction of Ft. Hope after the destruction of the Langy incident. Incidentally, that would also give them an excuse to spend some time in the Langy estate and have access to us, the head mage (hey, we need reagents and equipment after all).
>>24851046"Was that as informative as you had hoped?"
>>24851046You forgot to clarify a few points. The pride demons PUBLICLY stop the worst fights. And a most likely broken Miyan from the official "training" schools in old TO told our friends that her favorite passtime is murdering okarians. So it might all be a plot by the Pride demons.
[1/2]"I will probably have to fix it, like always." you then mutter to yourself as you sit down on the bed. “The timing of this makes me suspect that this conversation is why that happened. But that would make my life too simple and straightforward, the universe just can't let that happen so something must've gone awry somewhere nearby. I'll check on it later if another earthquake happens.”“Are... you alright Lady Brooklyn?” Stacy asks as you can feel her hand on your shoulder.“Yes yes everything is fine just... a bit exhausted from the workload. Especially since I know what will be coming up next. But enough about me!” you say turning to the twins. “So girls, did this answer some of the questions you had? Assuage any fears about it? Did it help you come to a decision about what you want to do?"“Well you certainly know my opinion about this matter already.” Stacy replies before turning to Katlin. “This all depends on dear Katlin now.”Katlin looks at both you and Stacy for a few seconds before averting her gaze. “S-staying together forever is a stretch you know. I-In a way this is even a step above and beyond marriage.”“I understand what you mean dear sister.” Stacy says grabbing her sisters hands. “It does come with a cost, but nearly all clans do by the sounds of it. In this case we need to pick our poison, and hopefully it’d be the one we’re somewhat already used to.”You can see Katlin tightly squeezing her sister’s hands while looking away from her. “F-Fine... But only on the condition that you won’t be dragging me everywhere!”“But of course!” Stacy happily replies.“Including the jousting tournaments.” Katlin then adds with her face going cold.
>>24851424as in, they send broken succubi to fan the fued, not that the fued isn't real
[2/2]The happiness in Stacy’s face drains out completely as she begins to stare at her sister for a few long moments. The air being so thick that you can cut it with a knife.“...Fine. Under the condition that you keep your practicing down when I’m doing work for father.” Stacy replies.“Deal.” Katlin replies with a small smile before bringing her sister into a tight embrace. You give a small smile as you see the sisters hug each other, letting them have their own moment.“Lady Brooklyn, if you do not mind, could you give us a day? We’d probably like to spend the last day we could ever be apart doing some things that each of us normally enjoy doing normally ourselves.” Katlin asks.
>>24851453Take all the time you need.
>>24851424Correction, the Miyian they hired wasn't broken or from a Pride Demon Re-education and Refinement center. It was just a normal Miyian selling her skills in mathematics and entertainment.
Oh yes, what you want Brooklyn to do next if you please.Right now it is about 10:30 PM. Nearly Brooklyn's normal bedtime. His room should be ready now.
>>24851445We'll let Oksana and Miyu talk to the twins while Janette does a quick mental scan about the situation when we bring them in for the transformation. Til then no worries and start packing for the trip to Old T.O.
>>24851478there goes my conspiracy theory in flames :)>>24851467+1
>>24851467This, but add, "If you change your minds or need more information, do let me know".No need to make them feel trapped after the fact.
>>24851500We need to take care of the paladin still. Its kinda a priority. Are we going to try to transform Amanda and Leona before leaving too?
>>24851453"Of course." we should probably ask whether their father would be willing to leave them here if we can find a legitimate, lucrative and safe excuse for him to do so.
>>24851504I don't even know where you got that idea in the first place to start with...>>24851453"Remember, this is just an offer. If at anytime you want to back away from this, either of you, let me know.">>24851500I would say head back up to the room. Check out what's all in there in detail.
>>24851536If the time table allows. We probably are going to need a Miyan with us for this, so Amanda takes priority. We'll also need to herd some bandits or kidnap Blizzie's bodyguards without raising suspicions of Ada's involvement.
>>24851453Kiss them goodnight. Vigorously.
>>24851619>We probably are going to need a Miyan with us for thisWhy?
>>24851641miyans might not listen to an okarian and vice-versa.
>>24851641Because we are going to have to deal with the science clan agitators and being a magicky type succubus kinda makes it hard for them to take us seriously, despite our lordly status.
>>24851688>>24851692And makes either of you think they'll listen to her?
>>24851692because she'll have access to their Queen.
>>24851641We are going to need someone that speaks their language...incomprehensible super-science talk. We need a translator. But seriously, if we show up with a member of their clan there's at least a chance of things not devolving into outright hostilities.
>>24851630I approve of this. Give our little subbie twins a proper, aggressive goodbye.
>>24851726We can't detect whether succubi have been broken. You want to give an unknown entity access to a traceable line of communication to the queens?
>>24851605>I don't even know where you got that idea in the first place to start with...Officially by law all succubi must have a tamer and be graduates from the "school". And she was hired by a merchant in good standing presumably from some agency or another rather then randomly off the street. It didn't occur to me that she was an illegal unregistered succubi.
>>24851726Who everyone knows are dead, thus our Pride demon plot will be foiled by disbelief before it has even taken root.>I wrote that in the context what I expect their leader's most likely reaction to be. Local political propaganda etc.
>>24851790That law is supposedly under enforced in Old T.O. I guess the Pride demons want a hunting ground, like a nature preserve for succubi...
>>24851790There are LOTS of those in Old TO. It's been said a few times that over there it is less of an issue regarding the law, and more of the issue that the Pride Demons don't wish to put up the effort. Ada has said a few times that she and a few others think it is merely to keep tabs on how many 'wild' Succubi exist and possible information on their activities.
So what first? Do we finish off the paladin or gather Aether for Amanda first?>>24851692Supposedly the leader of the okarian is a lord as well. Also, we have no real proof of being a lord since we have only been recently transformed and thus lack the power expected of an adult lord.Attempting to let someone communicate with the queens is risky due to Pride demon infiltrators.Best thing I can think of is to get a Miayan to make a VCR and a data transmitter. Then have the queens create records from the "memory replay" system Miyu has to show how friendly and close the two clans and the queens were pre fall (it should be pre fall to avoid exposing the existance of the queens in this post fall world) and transfer it via data to the VCR out here, then spread that around the succubi in old TO.>>24851835Ah right, I forgot.
>>24851726I would avoid letting any other succubi in Old TO know about the Queens and their present state, it may very well backfire and end with us dying. >>24851790It's a lot of work to deal with all of the 'wild' succubi and dropping the hammer on them would make Succubi, some of the best social infiltrators and so on go underground and be impossible to find or keep tabs on. Instead they keep an eye on them, let them do their own thing, and keep the threat of dropping the hammer around to keep them from doing anything disruptive or complaining much about them kidnapping Succubutts and breaking them.>>24851630I can't help but agree with this. Give them a kiss and then head back to the Castle. If anything is still open we can pick up necessary tea making supplies on the way back and if our Maid is up we can talk with her about some of what we talked about earlier over a cup of tea.
>>24851954Pretty sure they aren't going to accept a recording as proof, but bring it up next time we see the queens. The lord thing is actually pretty meaningless to us right now since it just means an accelerated growth rate. We're still a pretty small fish in this ocean, and the queens can't really back us with political clout while they're still locked away.
>>24851954I might be over-thinking this. Since any queen revelation is potential game over and very unlikely to actually solve it. We really should just focus on traditional means.... like getting the other clans to apply pressure on them, taking out ring leaders, assisting moderates within each clan to rise to the top, etc>>24852038I totally agree, that was my point really>>24850349>Succubi can be different castes than the parents?>Lamia herself has about three Belkarian, two Okarians and Ayarians eachIt just occured to me what a big implication this has to the old TO feud.
[1/3]“Remember, this is just an offer. If at anytime you want to back away from this, either of you, let me know." you tell the twins.“We will Lady Brooklyn. Do not worry.” the twins tell you.“I’ll swing by here tomorrow at 8:00 PM if you two still want to undertake this thing.” you tell the twins as you pick yourself up. “If you want another day to yourselves, then by all means go ahead. I won’t be upset at all.”“Well it is that and... We’re not leaving tomorrow or the next day, but rather the morning after that.” Stacy says. “We figured it’s probably best to get a day’s lessons from you at the very least.”“True, but don’t worry about such things for the time being. Just take some time to do things you both want to do.” you say taking a stretch and a yawn. “I’m getting rather tired myself, so I’ll be heading to bed pretty soon myself.“Very well. Have a pleasant night Lady Brooklyn.” Stacy says to you. You give a small smile as you reach down and give the twins a gentle hug, pulling them both towards you. However what surprises you most is that when you lean in to give Stacy a gentle peck, she pulls you deep into her face to give you full blown french kiss! Your eyes growing in shock as her tongue pierced into your mouth. After a few seconds, the shock wears off and is replaced by a smile as you vigorously kiss Stacy back as well. “STACY!” Katlin yells in surprise. Stacy purposefully kisses you for a few more seconds before pulling away from you, a thread of saliva running between you both with a large grin on her face. “What? Lady Brooklyn said that we can do anything we wished for the next day right? Do you want a kiss too dear sister?”
[2/3] Katlin fumes to herself, blushing from a mixture of both jealousy and anger. Without a word she gets up from her seat and walks over to you. She places her hands on your shoulders and in one deft movement sweeps you up and off your feet, giving you a deep and forceful kiss. Even without your emotion tasting, you’d be able to taste the jealousy coming off from this girl. You’re actually quite surprised as the girl is far stronger than she looks, that or you don’t weigh nearly as much in this body. As with Stacy it takes a second to recover, but soon enough you have your arms wrapped around Katlin’s neck, eagerly returning the kiss to her as well while you sink into her arms. After a brisk make out session, Katlin pulls away from you, putting herself back upright while she wipes her mouth and begins to push you out. “Alright that’s it for tonight! Now go on and leave us alone for the night!” “We rented this room for the night~.” Stacy teases. “GOODNIGHT LADY BROOKLYN!” Katlin yells as she pushes you out of the room, but you believe she is more angry at her sister than you. You give a happy sigh as you begin to walk down the stairs, the sounds of two siblings yelling at each other behind you. “Ah... If I was a male then I’-...” You stop in your tracks as you realize something. You’re a female now, which means... “...Welp... Guess I need a new pair of panties...” you mumble to yourself as you walk out of the inn. ****** As you head back up to your tower in the room of the castle, you can’t help but feel the same fear as before when coming around that bending. Sure once you go around and see nothing is thing it feels as if a weight is lifted off, but still once always seems to come back on...
[3/3] The real surprise however is when you enter your room once again, seeing that now it is nearly spotless. All of the alchemy bottles appear to have been vigorously cleaned by Linda. The bedsheets appear to be very thick and comfortable appearing while your bed appears to be easily a queen sized bed. There is a single bookcase in the back, in where it easily goes up to the ceiling and the top row containing more than a dozen books. The frosted glass window clearly shows the night sky while the fireplace can be seen in the reflection. Linda herself can be seen dusting off the top of the cobblestone fireplace while humming to herself. “...Wow...” you say entering the room and looking around. “Oh! My apologies Madame Brooklyn! I didn’t hear you come in!” Linda says turning around and giving a bow. “I... I honestly admit that I didn’t even think this room could be salvaged...” you say turning around. “N-No offense to your skills of course!” “Not at all Madame Brooklyn, I understand your intent clearly.” Linda says giving a small bow. “By the way, Lady Marina Langy has sent your gratulatory letter in addition to the Head Magician responsibilities in detail on your desk. She has requested that you read it over at your earliest convenience.” You glance over at your desk, noticing the ‘letter’ in of itself is nearly 10 pages.
>>24852273Oh shi- Info dump time!
>>24852273Read it, its important.
>>24852273Think back wistfully to when the pair of them let you take the lead in the relationship. Then resolve to capture that feeling. Then read the letter.
>>24852392Agreed, Make a note OP to have Brooklyn be much more sexually dominant with those two. And everyone really.
>>24852273"... joy. I suppose I better get on that.Linda could you be a dear and get me the various accouterments needed to make tea, pot, leaves, water, strainers, mugs, some milk and sugar, I would love to make a pot of tea and was going to offer you a mug. Steal or acquire it from the kitchens if need be, I'll get my own equipment soon enough, but haven't had the time to pick out some good china. Not a cup of tea mind you, most people don't know the subtleties of making it correctly so I prefer to make it myself."Start reading it, when the tea stuff gets here make some for the both of us, we'll talk to her about her education over a cup of tea before we go to bed.
>>24852420Agreed. Them actually treating us like a senior was what I liked most about them. They've seemed to change a lot.
>>24852531This except change "most people don't know the sublrtirs of making it correctly so I prefer to make it myself." to "I've always found the ritual of preparing tea to be quite soothing and it is a habit I intend to keep in my new role." Also, we're making her a cup of tea.
>>24852689>>24852531Sounds a bit pretentious. Why not just "I prefer to make it myself"?
>>24852741I think Brooklyn is allowed to be a bit pretentious about Tea, I mean it's at Awesome! that's not quite beyond mortal ken, but it's getting close.
>>24852741I'm trying to hit that weird sweet spot at the intersection of the hats we wear in front of Linda (government official, magician, scholar and school teacher) while layering in some shades of stress and exhaustion and keeping in mind that she seems to like playing the role of dutiful maid. But yeah, hoping another anon (or Sandact6 if he decides to use some variation of my proposal) will clean it up if I sound too out of character...
>>24852832Wait until we learn the tea potion ritual.
Idea for future, Linda as battle mAide. Yes/No?
>>24853119I don't really have a strong opinion on it. If she turns out to be incredibly competent, loyal to us, not loyal to the Langys but to us personally, driven, and so on, sure we can put her on the backburner otherwise why bother? We've got plenty of available targets for Succubutting. Now as a research partner and general helper, I'm all for that. If she's sharp and a quick learner having her help us with stuff as well as educate her would be a good thing.
>>24853119I thought we'd replaced the goal of turning Leona with helping Linda become the best mAide possible.
Water control - Control the currents in the tea to maximize flavour. Make Ice Tea if desired.Fire control - heat the water uniformly to the exact right temperature, heat the water quickly. Also render self immune to being burned, allows self to drink boiling hot tea.Life control - infuse life into the leaves to ensure they are as fresh as the day they were picked.Light control - Tea tastes better when a butler serves it.Earth control - Adjust the mineral content of the waterDarkness control - Tentacles and gravity manip to physically manipulate the stuff (technically the butler could do it)And that is all the ideas I have on how to use magic controls to make tea.>>24853119Sounds good, although she is fascinated with occult so okarian works too.
>>24853167>plenty of targetsTrue, there is also the fact we can just recruit succubi and any succubi in town can reproduce naturally.
>>24853177Hell no. Leona shall be our Aide.
>>24853277water control already controls liquid temperatures so fire is unnecessary
[1/3] “...Wonderful... I’d best get on that before heading to bed then.” you mutter to yourself. “Linda could you be a dear and get me the various accouterments needed to make tea, pot, leaves, water, strainers, mugs, some milk and sugar, I would love to make a pot of tea and was going to offer you a cup. Acquire it from the kitchens if need be, I'll get my own equipment soon enough, but haven't had the time to pick out some good china. I prefer to make it myself. No offense.” “Not at all Madame Brooklyn.” Linda says giving a small bow. “Is there anything else you wish me to fetch while I’m down there?” “...Probably a bit extra on those ingredients. I may need a few cups for this.” you say looking at the letter. “At once Madame.” Linda says bowing before heading out of your room. You sit down at your desk and begin reading out the official statement of the Royal Court Magician. It mentions at the very beginning that the document lists everything you can do as a royal magician in addition to your responsibilities to the Langy Family and Lord Articus. The document is quite long and filled the legalese, and indeed it takes you more than one cup to get through it. Pride Demon hierarchical structure lives and breathes by these contracts, so you want to make damn sure you get it. While there are tons of minor clauses and other things, the major things you pick out from this document are:
[2/3]1) You have freedom to do as you wish, but your interests are towards those of House Langy and Lord Articus. Your ‘rank’ (see two for details) is that of a midway point between the first and second generation of the Langy family. So long as the orders do not cross the interests of House Langy, Lord Articus, or Demon Duke Valvatosa then you must attempt to carry them out if they are within your capacity. Assassinations of people or any sort of supernatural power which alters a person on a conscious or subconscious level (which includes things such as Psionics, Magic, Charms, Alchemy, Relics, and other sorts of things) must be with a rank, at the very least, of the current head of the Langy Royal family. Demonic Knights can also request and authorize these services, and in such case override the Langy Family Head as it is a mortal house. Ada was mostly right as the spells you do have to perform are mainly just small and minor things.2) As a Royal Magician of the Langy family and are not related by blood, you are technically not a part of the Langy family. Rather you are employed by the Langy family. As mentioned in one, your rank is between the first and second generation of the Langy Family. This means while someone directly from Langy (Like Leona) could give you orders that you cannot refuse without asking Ada, you can refuse the orders of everyone below your rank without any sort of official retribution.3) In terms of supplies you are funded by House Langy. You are authorized to use the Langy Family budget, but large purchases that meet or exceed 25 platinum must be submitted and processed through the Langy Family Budget and Planning department. Anything less than this is usually given to you unquestioned.
>>24853308Maybe, but I get the feeling that she'd probably end up as Ada's or even Erika's instead.
[3/3]4) Any objects which may be considered unstable or dangerous cannot be brought into your room. You must secure an additional workshop for things of this nature. If you wish for a facility to be constructed, you must contact the Langy Family Budget and Planning department.5) While you are free to pursue anything you wish in your spare time, you cannot cast, summon, or develop spells/relics/anything supernatural which can be considered unstable. Again, such things would require the additional workshop as listed in four.6) Your services also include protecting the Langy family from any magical or supernatural related threat. You are not expected to stop such things by yourself, but if the Langy family (or anyone above it) is considered in peril then you must do everything in your power in order to assist, even if it conflicts with your own personal interests.7) You must spend at least two out of every five years at Fort Hope. Failure to follow this results in immediate termination of your position and benefits. It doesn’t matter when you spend the required time in Fort Hope, but you must follow it somehow.8) The last point is a personal note from Ada. She tells you that most of these things are rather self evident, but that if you have any questions or concerns then you’re free to contact her. She’ll make time for you as this is a rather important position. “I read poetry easier to follow than this...” you sigh throwing the last page on the table. “This is certainly very good tea Madame Brooklyn. Certainly one of the best I’ve had!” Linda says sipping the cup of tea again. “Drink up. You earned it after cleaning this place up.” you reply as you sip your tea again.
>>24853308Isn't it more appropriate for her sister to be her master? The idea is someone trustworthy who can be relied on to NOT abuse their power over her. Also, when voting in first thread everyone though Aide is bad due to needing a master... However it occurs to me that we could have had one no of the queens as a master who is hands off or find a trustworthy person and then enjoy the fact that Aides with a master are nearly impossible to break. Aides are the only breaking resistant succubi
>>24853356Ada? Hell, no. Plus she promised us that these are our minions. If she tries to go back on that she loses the damned town.
>>24853402>MinionsI prefer friends, family... some of them are actually lovers.
>>24853398Because we need a meatshield. And she trusts us.
>>24853432That's what she promised us though. And minions is a catch all term for "subordinates we care about personally"
>>24853360Yeah we need to ask Ada a question. The question is "You don't actually expect me to follow your orders, at all right?" because we need to make that absolutely clear.
>>24853360Doh, nobody made a suggestion after that.Ok, go to sleep now, first thing morning we talk to Ada about disposing of the paladin.>>24853575She IS our boss, we can always quit and get another job.
>>24853441Ah, how soon they lost interest after your unfortunate injury, Mina. But on a more serious note, we're their any plans for when we meet Brodin's boss tomorrow?
>>24853345I think you missed a word in 1.>must be with a rank, at the very least, of the current head of the Langy Royal family.>>24853360We should probably get a workshop made sometime. Take off a few layers of clothing, go into full lounge mode lying on a couch sipping a cup of tea. This is our room, if anyone cares to bother us at this hour they can cope with us being in our skivvies. "You mentioned earlier that you had an interest in occult theory. If you're interested in learning more and are a quick student I would like to cultivate this. While I am a scholar and magician I have always loved teaching. Are you interested in learning occult theory, history, demonology, and so on? I want you to be honest, if you don't want to learn tell me so.I might not always have the time for constant 1 on 1 tutoring, I have duties, responsibilities, and other things I have to do. But I will make time for you where I can, suggest books for you to read, answer questions you have to the best of my ability, and should you prove able ask you to act as my assistant in most probably a research capacity."
>>24853614Yeah, no She isn't. Our only boss is the queen. If she thinks she can actually order us around we need to either set the record strait or quit IMMEDIATELY.
>>24853575Of course she does. We just agreed to be her minion, loosely controlled, but still a minion. If you have a problem with that you should work to make Brooklyn ludicrously stronger and more politically connected than Ada.
>>24853575If we're in public yeah, we follow her orders, we have a charade running right now. She needs to look like the head of the Langy family, we ought to look like the Royal Magician. If we're in private we're equals, but when people are watching we don't break character.
>>24853575Yeah, we don't follow her orders. We'll make nice for public appearances sake, but behind closed doors if we ask for an exemption for whatever stupid order some 1st rank noble gives the answer damned well better be an automatic yes.
>>24853705Personally, I calling us equals is overstating her power a bit, but I suppose it will have to do. For now.
Ok, a couple of things we need to think about, just so we remember; We need to check back in on Amanda, Erika and Leona tomorrow. What are we going to tell our scholarly friends when they inevitably ask how we got to be Head Mage? We should expect those demon bodyguards to pay us a visit.
>>24853671I think you're getting the wrong idea. Ada is our boss for our day job not anything else
>>24853708>And screw the political ramifications! Yeah, it's not going to be an automatic pass if Ada values her position as ruler of this town.
>>24853708I personally see no problems doing our job, some people are having control issues on a matter that isn't a problem until we make it one
>>24853360Am I the only one amused that (5) read: do not engage in activities x, y and z. If you engage in activities x, y and z, do so at a location such as specified in (4). Ah, the blatant assumption that the rules will be skirted...
>>24853765No, it is an automatic pass. The only person who decides if we want Ada to overrule anyone when it comes to ordering us around is US. She can provide reasons in private why it is a bad idea, but the final decision is always ours.>>24853764No, she is our pretend boss for our day job.
>>24853708Following the orders of someone who pays you your salary does not mean never questioning them or quitting if they demand you do something you disagree with.>>24853730Technically we are appointed by the queens as the ruler of earth... But it is entirely up to her whether she wishes to abide and respect such an appointment. If she refuses our options are to violently overthrow her or accept her rulership of this town.Going up to her right away and making demands is not how you lead. We have tremendous respect from her thanks to how we have helped her thus far, our position with the queens, and the fact we killed Langley. So we leverage that and act like a proper leader. And honestly, I think we should basically limit our "ruler of earth" position to making sure each town has a proper ruler rather then micro managing things.
>>24853816Makes sense. Too much to gain to always hold to those rules. Even for mortals.
>>24853812No, some people simply want to ensure that Ada properly understands our relationship. I actually like Ada a lot. I'd much prefer not to have to smack her down if she gets uppity.
>>24853832>No, she is our pretend boss for our day job.no she's our actual boss for that day job, and frankly it's worth it. the amount of benefits we get outweigh the down sides. we didn't need to take the job
>>24853838I am not saying we make demands. I simply want to ensure that Ada understand what this job actually is. A farce to allow her to fund our activities.
OK, writing next bit now
>>24853764>Ada is our boss for our day job not anything elseExactly, she doesn't get to order us on succubi matters. She is our real boss of our day job, she is our underling in the secret society.>>24853816It is just a safety rule. It says "don't do dangerous things in the home of your boss, do it in a safe lab that will be constructed for you".
>>24853812Pretty much. Most of this can be avoided if we simply take the time to talk to Ada and worded properly so it doesn't like we're being a little bitch of 'my way only waaah.' >>24853816More like just don't do the stupid things with city limits.
>>24853872So let me get this straight, our current relationship is that Ada provides us funds, political cover and legitimacy as a mage in exchange for our services. And we want to refuse those services without her considering that a breach of contract and withdrawing those protections and resources we agreed to work for. Am I understanding you or, if you vocal anon on this issue, that other anon, correctly?
>>24853907She is our fake boss in that she has no actual authority over us. And she doesn't see herself as our underling yet because nobody is willing to talk about it to her.
>>24853896And if, under those conditions, she decides that we aren't worth funding?
>>24853969>And she doesn't see herself as our underling yet because nobody is willing to talk about it to her.probably because she's an Ally and on a subordinate/minion/underling.
>>24853969It's more that she doesn't want to be an underling, so that conversation is pretty much guaranteed to go bad.
>>24853964Your thinking of this the wrong way. You think that because we bailed her out of her mistakes in her plan to save the town twice, and assembled the group of Spirits that made this possible, that when she gives us a lesser reward than what she gave herself we actually have to listen to her?
>>24853969Agreed entirely. The sooner we talk this issue out the better.
>>24853969No, the's the real boss of the job. She's just also an ally. Not a servant. We are equals outside the job.
>>24854034No, no we are not. Also, fake boss.
>>24854007that should read not an a subordinate/minion/underling.>>24853969she's our boss for the job and an Ally out side of it.>>24854046not fake boss
>>24853969She is our fake boss for the job yes. But outside of that she is our friend/ally. Not an underling. So that is why there is no reason to talk to her about it.
>>24853969>>24853969>And she doesn't see herself as our underling yet because nobody is willing to talk about it to her.You do realize this kind of attuide will only make more enemies for us down the road, right? Make people start plotting against us for being a compete tool and jack ass.
ensure that Ada understands that we do not work for her. In any fashion.
>>24854046Real boss; real job.But it's not like we can't just quit whenever the hell we want.
>>24854015I'm saying that us frequently getting away with flouting her authority will make her look weak to the rest of her power-hungry, blood-thirsty subordinates, and that will undermine her authority and destabilize her rule. Why instill her as the ruler of Ft. Hope only to personally undercut her? Because we're too vain to roll up our sleeves and do our part to maintain all the deceptions that provide us some measure of safety and security her as we grow our power base? Having trouble understanding exactly where your coming from here...sorry for that.
>>24854091I think we just need to lay out respective cards on the table as soon as possible. I've advocated it from the beginning, and speaking personally, I find those that insist we can all just be friend and everyone is equal to everyone far more annoying than the more abrasive supporters of frankness.
>>24853969She's not our underling/minion, she doesn't want to be our underling/minion, attempting to tell her that she's our underling will not get us anything good and may alienate our ally who wants to rule over some stuff. There's no fucking point in trying to convince her that we rule over her, it's stupid. >>24854096Currently we do, not in a we're her minion way, but part of our official job is working for her. Outside of that we're friends, allies, equals, but when we're on the clock we're not going to fuck ourself and her over by being a bitch by saying "You're not the boss of me."
>>24854015In all fairness, she did spend years digging up enough dirt on the Langys that once the first domino fell, rulership fell bloodlessly (mostly) into her lap.
>>24854104You don't understand. I mean that she should never give us an order publicly without talking to us privately before hand and if another 1st rank noble wants to give us an order that she'll automatically countermand it for us if we ask her, regardless if she thinks it is a good idea. We obviously don't publicly undercut her.
1.Ada is an Ally not an underling2.she's our boss for the job we chose as a cover, not following her orders pertaining that job undermines both her power as the ruler of fort hope and our cover
It is very simpleShe is the real boss of our day job which we may quit at any time for any reason. She is our ally and friendShe is possibly technically our subordinate (ruling succubi lord of earth) in the "secret society" (official succubi hierarchy from pre fall) which she may choose to leave/declare independence of at any time.Oh, and I am pretty sure we never actually INFORMED any of our friends and allies that the succubi queens gave us rulership of earth. Also, I am not sure if the contract means rulership occurs when we conquer it or immediately. If we go "our way or the highway" she will fire us from the day job, stop being our friend/ally, and disobey our supposed authority over succubi of earth. Heck, the average succubus wouldn't even believe the whole "oh the mythical queens of succubi whom most succubi living today think are only a myth and were never real have assigned us as the ruler of earth". The amount of stress we must subject her to for her to do that varies based on how loyal she is to the traditions her mother taught her (obey the succubi queens). That is the ONLY hold we have on her.
>>24854096Then why did we accept the job?
>>24854131Yes, yes we are in this fashion. >>24854160
>>24854160I support this. Also, she's our minion.
>>24854172>Oh, and I am pretty sure we never actually INFORMED any of our friends and allies that the succubi queens gave us rulership of earth. Also, I am not sure if the contract means rulership occurs when we conquer it or immediately.we only get that reward upon completion, so it really isn't too relavent
>>24854118And some of us would like to let Brooklyn naturally surpass Ada instead of having a pissing contest with her.
>>24854160I support this.
>>24854141This. She worked for this for, what, a fucking decade? Where is this batshit sense of entitlement coming from?
>>24854160Decent terms. Not enough in my view. But I'll settle on them. For now.
>>24854201She's not our minion. At what point was that declared? We are a less experienced succubus who didn't plan this for over a decade. We just walked in and provided some brute force to finish it up.If anything, she should see us as the minion. But she doesn't and neither should we.
>>2485416I agree with this.>>24854226Reread previous threads. This is a longstanding argument.
>>24854255a sorry. meant do link to >>24854160
>>24854201She's not our minion dumbass. She's her own person, she hasn't agreed to be our underling, she doesn't want to be our underling, we happen to be friends and allies who share common goals, but she isn't our minion. >>24854160That works, but I'd avoid doing that and making Ada countermand orders just because we don't feel like making a stupid love potion or teaching some brat. We took this job and we ought to do it properly unless following an order is against our morals or goals in an extreme and damaging fashion.
>>24854172Actually when you think about it, the reward is actually quite ephemeral. IF we conquer the earth we will be officially recognized as its rulers. We already conquered it!Then again, the main religion of the succubi is the worship of the queens who gave us this authority.>>248541601. There are minor day to day orders she should give2. Getting her to counteract random orders with no explanation given to her is being a dick and a control freak and undermines her authority.3. There are emergency situations when she should give us orders.4. The orders she gives us are to establish succubi dominion over this town and maintain her authority.5. We can contest any order she gives, either with a "you don't need a yes man" or with a flat out "I would rather quit".6. She pays us for the explicit purpose of giving us orders. We don't have to take her money for that. You are saying she should pay us just because.>>24854226Yea, she does deserve this.
>>24854118Personally, I've been wanting to talk to Ada for a long time. But I'm not about to try and borrow beat her into being underling/minion. Rather just work, not 'yeah friends' but on a professional level, with her. Our goals and her goals mostly align no reason to get everyone's panties in bunch about this. To move our goals closer we need to make it clear what was agreed upon with the queens. If she can't deal, well figure it out at that time. Not have some bullshit pissing contest here and now when we don't even know what she'll say.
>>24854160So, we propose that we are exempt from all our contractual duties...whelp, we needed to her to T.O. soon anyway, not sure why we bothered having Ada announce us as head magician if we were just planning to quit right away.
[1/2] “Ugh... The day has been so long...” you mutter to yourself as you put down your tea and begin to take off your dress in order to let it fume a bit. Being in a winterized dress in a room that is now rather warm is getting a bit too stuffy for your tastes. “...Shall I... leave the room now Madame Brooklyn?” Linda asks, being somewhat confused for the current moment. “If you want, but I’d like to have a word with you if you do stay. I’m just feeling dreadfully hot and stressed out lately and need some time to relax... In fact I was hoping to spend the next day or so just doing the things I find relaxing. With luck nobody will bother me as they run around like headless chickens.” you say until you strip down to your lingerie. It is the typical maid underwear that all of the maids in the castle wear. “Besides if people bother me at this hour than they should not be shocked to see my dressed in my undergarments.” “Do your garments fit you milady?” Linda asks you. “Oh yes they do, perfectly.” you say. They fit you perfectly now after you shapeshifted them. "Anyways, you mentioned earlier that you had an interest in occult theory. If you're interested in learning more and are a quick student I would like to cultivate this. While I am a scholar and magician I have always loved teaching. Are you interested in learning occult theory, history, demonology, and so on? I want you to be honest, if you don't want to learn tell me so.”
>>24854285It would still leave discretion on when to use it in our hands.
>>24854314No it isn't Sandact, that's a lie.
>>24854181We did so because it was convenient cover and allowed us ligament access to stuff.Relay I think view Ada as a friend. Friends are a far more valuable resource i would argue. Also Ada is providing us all the advantage of control of fort hope (informal power) without us having to spend all our time dealing with whinny and haughty nobles/bureaucracy.relay my view of the situation is don't break it if it is not broken. If it becomes a problem we will deal with it but I really don't want to babysit fort hope.
[NEW 2/2] Linda seems shocked by the offer. “I-I’d be honored milady and gladly accept, but the last thing I’d wish to do is to waste your precious time.”“I might not always have the time for constant 1 on 1 tutoring, I have duties, responsibilities, and other things I have to do. But I will make time for you where I can, suggest books for you to read, answer questions you have to the best of my ability, and should you prove able ask you to act as my assistant in most probably a research capacity." you tell her as you put do your empty cup of tea. “One reason being is that I can probably count the number of eligible people for this job in Fort Hope on one hand, you being on that hand.”“By all means milady, I’d be honored to have such a position!” Linda happily says unable to keep her excitement down. “Whenever milady is ready than I shall eagerly pay attention to anything you teach!”
>>24854353do this now >>24854160Like right now.
>>24854369No, countermand that. If something becomes a problem, we'll talk about it...but we chose the job. That means we should act like it.
>>24854341I agree with you.I view Ada (and Mina/Erika etc) as our ally/friend, same as the queens view themselves.
>>24854369Agreed. We've been lax about this situation.
>>24854369Not right now. There is no need. I think she understand sthat if we get some compromising order from up high, that she will talk to us first.
>>24854353Good. Dismiss her and go to bed. We'll deal with the Ada shitstorm in the morning. I'm kinda hoping she fires us now...
>>24854369unnecessary at this time
>>24854369Agreed>>24854378Better to deal with it now. Plus, I voted against that job. I'd prefer to help Amanda gain control of her company and use that for funding rather than rely on Ada.
>>24854369Not in our fucking underwear you idiot!
>>24854369Do it Now! we might actually have the votes to do something effective about the Ada situation for once.
>>24854428>Better to deal with it now.there's nothing that needs dealing with
>>24854353Good on her. Grab that space control book go over some of the basic stuff it has then hit the bed. /TALK/ with Ada in the morning. >>24854415With the way some are acting most likely to happen.
>>24854369No, that's very stupid. We don't need to...and we have no power to order her about. She's an ally and an equal.
>>24854353"Excellent, we have a bit of time before I'm planning on going to bed, I plan on sleeping in tomorrow."Start by testing her knowledge, talking to her, getting a feel for how much she actually knows, where she has any holes in her knowledge, test her on occult theory, history, demonology, math that standard gamut of things she should know.Grab a few books that cover the fundamentals and will fill in the big basic holes in her knowledge, run through what we want her to read when she has time, let her know if she is really struggling with a part to look it over one or two more times and if she still doesn't get it to write down what she doesn't understand and bring it to us later.>>24854369We're in our underwear relaxing before bed, it's not the time. And it's not even a fucking problem, for fuck's sake people. She knows what's up and if it comes up we'll talk to her.
>>24854448>effective about the Ada situation for once.there is no situation
I don't understand what all this paranoia about Ada is. So far she has been very considerate and accommodating. She hasn't asked us to do anything we didn't want to do. She's come to us for advice and protection. I think she views us as more of a friend and ally, than as someone to exploit. I don't think we have to worry about her trying to leverage power over us. To those who want her crushed under our thumb; why? That would be counter-productive by making her resent us. It would be much better to have her as a friend.
>>24854428Really? You think Amanda would be easier to control than Ada? Oh god that's funny!
>>24854369Do it now. While we still have the chance.
>>24854448What situation?>>24854474That is hilarious
Ah, see I don't paticularily care if Ada thinks she's our boss at the moment, honestly it seems to me like everyone is panicking over nothing. Mainly because at any time we can simply ignore her or any other noble's orders and disapear into another form. She's also given us pretty much a carte-blanch to do what we want.
>>24854472^ what this anon says. Exactly that.
>>24854369Please dear god do this. We've let ada walk over us for so long.
>>24854369I think it would be insulting to her that you think it's necessary. she know better than to ask something we wouldn't do
you know how about we learn how to fly with Mina?flying should be relaxing and besides i think we put it off long enough.
>>24854369No, just no. There is no need!
>>24854513>. We've let ada walk over us for so long.what how? Are we reading the same quest? Can you name the times she did ?
Oh my god all these fucking samefag votes to charge off to Ada this instant.
I am positive a single guy is blasting those extra "votes" over and over to immediately declare to Ada that she is our minion and must do what we tell her.A ridiculous notion. What agency do we have to exert any kind of authority over her?1. We could attempt to murder her - wont fly with any of our allies2. We could claim to be the chosen of the succubi queens - she can reply with "suck dick"3. We ... thats it actually. We have absolutely no power over her.
>>24854369We knew what we were getting in when we took the head wizard position, are you retarded or something?
>>24854369Please dear god yes. We've been trying to do something for so long.
>>24854472I agree with you. But;>paranoiaBecause /tg/ runs on nothing but paranoia in quest anymore. Which simply put, too much ruins quest. And this one drove right off the cliff.
>>24854448>>24854369There is no fucking Ada situation. Don't do this, it's dumb. >>24854513What the fuck do you mean walk over us? When has that ever happened? We've asked her for some favors on important things, we've done some favors for her when it's important to her. She got us a job with authority that keeps us out of scheming politics and lets us requisition whatever we want pretty much. She did us a fucking favor by getting us this job and now you people are bitching that we might have to keep up appearances.
>>24854558>What the fuck do you mean walk over us? When has that ever happened? Yeah, I've been kinda wondering that myself really...
>>24854518>Learn to flyThere are 3 ways to fly, they stack1. Wings2. Wind magic - most effective magical flight3. Dark magic (gravity) - second most effective magical flightI propose we learn how to fly with dark control first because this allows us to fly silently, to fly other people, to fly without our wings (shape shifted).
>>24854553>We've been trying to do something for so long.Do something about ada? There is nothing to do about Ada, she is not a problem..jeez talk about misplaced priorities.
>>24854369I've been a supporter of this concept from the beginning. I voted against trusting Ada any more than necessary this entire time. Its depressing that everyone seems to consider her so damned perfect when she openly admits she's ambitious.
>>24854369Hell no, that's stupid. We aren't a power-hungry asshole, and Ada isn't the leader of the world. She rules a city, we currently have nothing, and doing that is literally antagonizing one of the few people we can trust, while simultaneously looking more prideful than an actual pride demon.
>>24854580"Oh sure you can have the town. NO we can't ask for anything for saving her ass again. No, we can't tell her we're a demon lord, it might scare her."
>>24854587>I've been a supporter of this concept from the beginning. I voted against trusting Ada any more than necessary this entire time. Its depressing that everyone seems to consider her so damned perfect when she openly admits she's ambitious.Everyone that will follow us are ambitious, if they were doormats they wouldn't care to begin with.
>>24854369No, don't do this, it's retarded and will either accomplish nothing at all or alienate our friend and ally.>>24854587Ambitious does not mean she has backstabitus. She's smart, she's friendly with us, we can trust her, she knows that she stands so much more to gain from being with us than against us, knows that we're working for fucking Lamia, the Queen she admires most and seeks to live up to. She isn't going to betray us, she has no motivation to betray us, betraying us goes against her character and her motivations.
>>24854587>Its depressing that everyone seems to consider her so damned perfect when she openly admits she's ambitious.you say that like ambition is evil and that it guarantees her stabbing us in the back.
>>24854582All we would be able to do is float i saw we learn how to use our wings first than use the gravity control to augment our flight capabilities
>>24854369Please dear god do this.
>>24854513When? We've been on her payroll for...one day. And nothing was required of us in that time. Plus it seems like Langy's death legally transferred his demonic title to us, so Ada's actually ruling in our name here.
... Now I agree, its a samefag going around and around trying to sway the vote.
>>24854619No, but when a majority of player react to doing anything that smacks of contingency planning with horror it tends to radicalize people. I don't agree with everything that's been said, but >>24854369 is a decent compromise.
The relationship between Brooklyn and Ada is different than the relationship between Brooklyn and Marina Langly. There, solved it.
>>24854610"Oh sure you have the town. We can ask for reasonable things because she's our ally. We can tell her we're a demon lord but we don't know if she'll believe us since we are pretty weak."
>>24854610The town she put lots of work into conquering, which we don't want to rule and would be not good at ruling, that we helped her out a bit with at the end, we didn't take control of this town, we just helped a bit. If we need a favor from her we can ask for it, when did it ever get said we can't ask for anything from her?Dear god stop being retarded.>>24854369No, bad idea, stop being dumb, some samefagging for it.
Um, guy's?I think we've kinda buried Sandact under a shitstorm...He's probably all sorts of confused about what the fuck to do right now.
>>24854610>"Oh sure you can have the townBecause we don't want to micromanage it, when we have bigger things to go after. And having her manage it, will support us in the long run.>NO we can't ask for anything for saving her ass againhuh I don't remember that, But again it seems to be just rude to demand favor for a favor.>No, we can't tell her we're a demon lord, it might scare her."That was never an excuse and you know it. It's just it's pointless to tell her? It will acomplish nothing but impose false barrier. And after that I KNOW that it's just one (or two) guys spamming for this
>>24854612>Ambitious does not mean she has backstabitus. In fact we were explicitly told this is one of the core tenants of the vipers and was drilled into her since childhood.>>24854633No, langly ASSUMED we were an empowered mortal seeking his position due to us being the largest magical signature in town.In fact with his death the nobles, and the guilds, and the mercs all politicked on who to declare the succussor and that was ada due to over 10 years of work by her planting suggestions in the minds of every single mover and shaker in town.
>>24854610...What are you smoking? That isn't her walking over us, that's us being secretive about the truth that we're a demon lord because if that info got out every demon with a name that sounds like a DBZ villain would be after our head.
>>24854648Yeah, no shit. I'm going back other quest. This shit is just sad on all sides.
>>24854587Not really though. Her ambitions are to rule openly as a succubus, not wage a long, asymetric war against the pride demon authority and take back the planet. Just to be accepted for herself by her community and to have the self validation of being treated as a smart, capable and respectable adult despite her outward appearance. She isn't "back stab my friends without any legitimate justification" power hungry.
>>24854656Its not a compromise at all, it states we should immediately go to ada right now and "lay down the law", the law being "my way or the high way", there is absolutely no compromise in doing it.
>>24854679>>No, we can't tell her we're a demon lord, it might scare her.">That was never an excuse and you know it. It's just it's pointless to tell her? It will acomplish nothing but impose false barrier.it's not like she believed us when we did tell her
>>24854369I'd just like to formally note that there is in fact more than one person supporting this. Not sure how many though. There has long been a faction of the player base that has wanted to take a more proactive stance with regards to dealing with Ada. For christ sake throw them some sort of bone people. This showdown has been brewing for months.
>>24854656>decent compromise.except it isn't a compromise, it's an ultimatum.
>>24854725... you are deluded. There is no showdown to have.
>>24854744Its a compromise between what some players want, which is to do absolutely nothing, and what others want, which is to try to lay down the law. Which this isn't doing.
>>24854353Dear god.Do >>24854464 or just go to bed and do >>24854518 in the morning. Or both. Not >>24854369
>>24854353Just go to sleep/rest. Grab the space book for some reading before bed.We can decide what to do in the morning.
>>24854760Um, I'm seeing an angry showdown in the thread right here.
>>24854725it will utterly ruin our alliance to make a baseless ultimatum while assuming she intends to backstab us and when we have absolutely no leverage on her at all except perhaps a threat to murder her.Furthermore, there is not going to be a showdown with her.IF there ever IS a showdown with her when she acts up THEN we can act on it...The problem is that the 2 sides of the argument are:1. Put an ultimatum to her right now before she turns on us (as if making such an ultimatum will in any way shape or form strengthen our position)2. Stating that we don't think she is going to backstab us or start acting crazy (and if she does we can deal with it when it happens)
>>24854760This is pretty much a classic definition of an angry showdown.
>>24854764it not a compromise because it's completely one sided. only people who want to alienate our ally over non-existent problems get anything from it.
>>24854725What showdown? There hasn't been any showdown brewing. This isn't a "this town ain't big enough the two of us" this, we're friends with Ada and we respect each other, neither of us are each other's underling and that's just fine. If a situation crops up we'll deal with it, but this preemptive showdown, laying down the law bullshit is fucktarded.
>>24854725Not really. Either the conversation will happen and Ada will give us an ultimatum or sack us outright, or we will actually use our cover identity of being the langy's human (the important bit here) head mage as intended.
>>24854791Its not an ultimatum, its clarifying the actual terms of our employment versus the lies we are telling the pride demons.
Jesus fuck where did all this paranoia come from.
A true compromise would be asking Ada if she has any plans for us by us being the Royal Wizard. Then discussing calmly with her that whether we can agree with that or not. Not going to her and laying down a 'law' that comes straight out of left-field because some samefag is paranoid that shes going to decide she wants to take our place as the head honcho... which she doesn't even believe we are.
>>24854725To clarify since some people are confused. I meant the pro versus anti Ada faction showdown not an actual fight between the two in character
>>24854826"If you make me work, I'm not willing to do the job." sounds like an ultimatum to me though...
>>24854826There's nothing to clarify, we are the head wizard of the langly family we'll have to do small things for them unless someone directly related to langly or a pride demon ask for it. What were you expecting when the job was accepted
I've been reading all this since I've eaten my meal.Typing now.
>>24854842Welcome to /tg/quest where everyone is out to get you! Even if they're not!
>>24854826Well, there are certainly exponentially better and more tactful ways of getting that clarification than barging up to her in the middle of the night in our undies, and demanding she she spill her intentions out to us on the spot.
>>24854826But there's no need for it. If we got an order that we didn't like from a noble, went to her and said "could you belay this?" she would do it in a heartbeat. "Laying down the law" is hamfisted and would give away our ambitions of rule, making her leery of trusting us.
Jesus guys, I highly doubt Sand has set Ada to be secretly working against Brooklyn, just waiting for an opportunity to backstab us.I am pretty sure he made her as an Laminian ally Brooklyn can have. Like the other character we have in our party.
>>24854826When the town was taken she called us friend, ally, and pledged to support the cause of the succubi queens (not us).She ALSO offered to us 2 jobs IF we desired them. Those jobs are real, not fake. If at any point in time we decide we are unwilling to actually do the job, we may quit. As long as we aren't an asshole about it (ie: give out an ultimatum stating that she is our minion or must not ever make us actually work) then she will likely still be our friend, ally, and support the succubi queens (not us).>>24854848correct, that would actually be a compromise. Although I see no reason to compromise with an extremist when we can just take the position of:If she ever asks us something unpaletable we contest it and quit if she insists.
>>24854899People are just having a rectal ragnarok because she's "in the way" of our goal of ruling the planet. While that is true, they're also too shortsighted to see how poorly giving her an ultimatum and declaring ourself the boss would be.
>>24854848This works for me. IF and only if we clearly state that our interperitation of the deal is what has been previously discussed. Which is we don't actually have to do anything for the first rank families we don't want to, because we actually outrank them in this city.
I've been pushing for talking to Ada about where we stand for a while. I voted to turn down both the jobs because I didn't want her to be our boss. And I have to say, this argument is fucking retarded. It's late, we've had a tiring day, and we're not wearing any clothes. What part of that makes you think we must suddenly march down to her office right this instant?
>>24854999>People are just having a rectal ragnarok because she's "in the way" of our goal of ruling the planet. No she isn't, she is ASSISTING us in achieving that goal, she pledged her support to the succubi queens (not us), using her resources we could further succubi cause across earth, should we succeed the succubi queens will appoint us ruler of earth and at THAT point ada becomes technically an underling since she is only ruler of a town while we rule earth... IF this ever happens.I might be your boss one day if I successfully conquer the world is a horrible justification to making stupid ultimatums to someone who is actively assisting us.
>>24855012But we technically don't, sure we killed Langly but regicidal bastards are rarely welcome as overlord.
>>24855035Huh, guess I don't have to finish writing that post since MrTT laid out my view so succinctly. Support.
>>24855026Probably because the think they might actually have the votes to get something done this time?
>>24855012"We" out rank them. Brooklyn the "Human Mage" does not. Does this not compute?
>>24854898Hell, I haven't even considered Brooklyn as all that ambitious. We want to rule the world not for the sake of ambition, but so that we can make the planet we grew up on and call home a better place. We care more about tea and knowledge than we do about ruling the world.
>>24855035The point remains that she is unaware of our ambitions, and while we both have the same boss in the end she holds more power than we do, hence she is both an ally and an obstacle. That said I still agree 100%, we don't need to overtake her, we don't need to lay down any sort of situation, we just need to continue working with her. She put in most of the work taking this town, so it should go to her. Now that we're here and doing legwork, the next plan will leave us in a much more prestigious position than Head Mage of The Langly Family. We'll beat her as a rival, not an enemy.
>>24855126Agreed. Especially since we plan to delegate most of our authority anyway.
>>24855126Yeah, that's the exact opposite of how I've been playing this character.
>>24855141fortunately for us your a minority.
>>24855035I disagree with everything you are saying.
>>24855079I doubt there will be a significant shift in playerbase by the morning. In fact it would probably be morning already if Sandact could have been writing updates instead of reading a hundred posts of shitstorm.
>>24855133Look, our ambition is more about winning back the planet that all the administrative headaches of ruling it. But if you're really worried about Ada, just blast her to smithereens once we no longer have use for the cover identity she gave us.
>>24855126That's pretty much how I voted for Brooklyn so far.Main goal is to gain as much knowledge as we can (and make perfect tea)Oh and get as many hot succubi i̶n̶ ̶l̶o̶v̶e̶ following us.
>>24854369I support this.
>>24855177>than dealing with all the administrative headaches...
>>24855191dude it's too late/stop it. Sand is already writing the next part.
>>24855139>>24855141...I just realized I've been playing Brooklyn as Uncle Iroh, Queen of the Succubi. And now I can't stop laughing at the images in my head.
>>24855141Soooo... You're completely ignoring almost everything brooklyn has said and done, in order to act out your own OOC ambitions?
>>24855126Agreed.Which is why I think our "rulership" (should we ever reach that point) should be limited to firing evil/corrupt/incompetent/etc local rulers and replacing them with someone good.Oh look, ada, competent, and loyal to the cause and just usurped power from the pride demons after decades of hard work, and has decades of experience more then us as well as specialized training which we don't even want to bother with.Mission succeeded!
>>24855211great now I want Fire control and Wind control(lighting)
>>24855211You know. That's too good of an image. Thank you for that.
>>24855139>>24855141He is ambitious though, just ambitious for liberation, not conquest. There's a big difference there.
>>24855260Viva La Revolución?
>>24855260Absolutely. For example, we have planned and taken steps to exterminate the entire population of bandits near Fort Hope, but we have made no effort and intend to make no effort to fill the power vacuum we are opening up. Just a thought.
>>24855231>Soooo... You're completely ignoring almost everything brooklyn has said and done, in order to act out your own OOC ambitions?>Brookly has always cared more about tea, tea, ladies, and books (in the order) than ruling anythingSomeone's head is up their ass, and it's not the guy you're talking too.
>>24855313Nah, I'm Brooklyn's more ruthless persona from the first few threads. There are so few of us left now. Its sad.
Oh my god. I leave for a few hours and come back to find out the plan is to piss off the friend that's done the most to make the queens orders a reality? Beautiful. I mean, while we're busy telling Ada that we plan to do every thing in our power to make her life more complicated for doing us this favor, why don't we just tell her our plan is to be a complete bum and do nothing for the next century but leach off her hard work? I mean, I'm sure that will go over well too. How to make friends and influence people 101, /tg/ style...
>>24855313...Except Brooklyn has cared more about tea, tea, ladies, and books than ruling? Even back when we first took the deal, it was less "Sweet, I get to rule the world" and more "Fuck yes, I'm not going to die!".
>>24855313I don't think you've actually been reading this quest
>>24855347Not totally true since I was there too, I just nap ever cared about politics and probably will continue to not give a damn unless the utter shitshow succubus society in Old T.O. promises to be warrants me holding my nose and rolling up my sleeves to get that shit sorted. If I do I might as well state that I'm fine with breaking other succubi behind our allies' backs.
>>24855313I really don't think you've been reading the quest that much. Most of our priorities have been acquiring allies and friends, reading books, drinking tea, and fucking bitches.Ruling takes time out of our busy schedule.
>>24855373Honestly, if you are at all surprised at this you have been paying zero attention to previous threads. There has always been a faction that plays Brooklyn as significantly less trusting and more ambitious than others like.
>>24855427There's a difference between being less trusting and more ambitious, and this current train of thought based on actively trying to destroy and mutilate our friendly relationship with Ada.
>>24855427I'd be less bothered by their ambitions and distrust if it wasn't for the fact they think that shitting over an ally you have no leverage on at all will make then your loyal minion for no reason at all
>>24855422Remember when we were plotting to break the queens? fun times. I no longer play that Brooklyn, but my version of Brooklyn has immense loyalty to the queens. And precisely 0 towards his absent empress. In his opinion she long ago abdicated any right to her title.
>>24855427Hey, don't confuse less trusting with power hungry. I will usually advocate withholding sensitive information until we can verify someone is trustworthy, but I'm against alienating our allies just because we don't like taking a support role (that we agreed to) in public.
>>24855469There logic is actually incredibly easy to follow. Its "Ensure that Ada doesn't start thinking of herself as our boss, so we don't have to forcefully point it out to her when she tries to act like one." I personally disagree with their tactics, which are admittedly extreme. That said, I agree with their basic premise.
>>24855475Yep, didn't weigh in on that conversation because it was stupidly long term and I didn't feel like wasting time shooting the shit. Not really worth the responsibility inherent in rolling a multi galactic empire though. Too much paperwork, not enough fun.
>>24855503Umm... no one has advocated changing how things work in public.
>>24855559See. To me, that is fun.
>>24855427There's ways and ways my friend. If this was the appropriate response we should have never taken the job. Now that we have the job it AT LEAST makes sense to wait until there is something to complain about before we complain. I mean, it's not about being untrusting. It's about not saying "Thanks for the favor, now screw you and the pony you rode in on." I don't expect a lot of social.. understanding.. on 4chan, but I really don't see why anyone thinks randomly running into Ada's room out of the blue and "laying down the law" is a good or even remotely reasonable thing to do here.
>>24855527Ada knows we work for the queens. She works for the queens. But her roll is to build a stable power base in Ft. Hope, while ours is to get powerful enough while exploring the world to crack open the queens' prison. How would this lead to her thinking we are in the same chain of command as her, let alone below her in the chain of command? Seriously, I'd like an explanation please.
>>24855583The fact that we should never have taken the job is another issue entirely. I'm simply trying to salvage as much as possible.
>>24855581Which is why I let you have your conversation in peace. That made it more fun for you, right?
>>24855611Because she is our sole source of funding, which gives her tremendous influence over us.
>>24855475To be fair at the time we had a grossly distorted view of what demonhood is and assumed the queens are trying to screw us over because demons are evil.Turns out the succubi are downright nice and self sacrificed to defend humanity, while refusing to resort to certain weapons even if it meant their defeat.I have nothing against power mongering and distrust. I am the one who keeps on advocating we stop revealing the queens to everyone and their dog.But the "go to ada's room and throw fit on your first day on the job" is merely an act of stupidity rather then an act of power-lust or distrust
>>24855625Not the way to do it. That's all I'm saying.
>>24855503I'm honestly surprised we even took the job. I remember us discussing it 3 times or so in previous parts, and each time it was a resounding "If it ever comes up, decline! We don't want the publicity!". Then finally it did come up, a couple of people said "alright" and "sure", and that was that.
>>24855625>The fact that we should never have taken the job is another issue entirelywhy not? we needed a place to stay, money to fund our activities, and a cover story that allows us access to all sorts of magic resources.
>>24855640Right. And how you've reciprocated by indulging those who want to play the politics game and not leave everything to Ada.
we had this argument when presented with the job choices, now we're having it again and noone has realised we already sorted this outI just wish you would all shut the fuck up and let the thread get back on track
Turns out the publicity wasn't bad. The rules given were acceptable... and we got a place to live and gold to play with.(Cause our house is kinda rubble and we have no money to get a new one.)
>>24855625We are a registered Mage now. Suddenly we will be an unemployed mage of enough note to have been offered a head mage position, even if in a backwater. Either Ada destroys our reputation to preserve our anonymity, or we can expect a bit more attention since people now know our true name...
>>24855668It's a great job with awesome perks and payments and minimal actual work needed and declining would have been insane paranoia. Also, shapeshifter.>>24855716Fake death/disappearance. Head mage went exploring and didn't come back, got terminated as per the 2 year clause. We are a shapeshifter.
>>24855625It's a damn good job to have? It gets us somewhere to stay, piles of banned books on lots of stuff, being able to get most magic stuff we care about without a problem, money, clout, and access to as many pretty dresses as we fucking want. For the low price of reading books all day, doing some magic things, and teaching some kids.
why is everyone arguing like Ada is now our enemy? do they not realise there are 2 sides to these characters, the public and political side/ the succubi side
>>24855668I wasn't there. It was fucking stupid. >>24855655Because I don't want to throw a fit. I want to walk in say "So this is what the contract officially says. Now lets discuss what it actually means between the two of us. The official contract is obviously not worth the paper its printed on."
>>24855753Because they're fucking idiots.
>>24855652Or we convert our favors from the noble girls to currency, or kill some bandits, or Suggest a wealthy noble give us money and housing...she isn't our only source of funding, just the easiest.
>>24855753Everyone is talking like she is a potential threat. This is not a new thing at all.
>>24855756We're the head mage, what are you expecting for us to laze around all day while still getting all the benefit?
>>24855760but no one is willing to secure those sources because that would be "a betrayal of Ada's trust."
>>24855787But she's so weak compared to our coming enemies and allies?
>>24855756>I wasn't there. It was fucking stupid. No it wasen't. We have it set, for now.
>>24855787>This is not a new thing at allno it is not, but it is fucking stupid because she is not a potential threat
>>24855745>>24855756The contract is awesome, it states that in the entire town, you can count on one hand the number of people who can order us around, while we can order around anyone else.It states we get massive payment and budget, and are required to do very little. All the terms of the contract are perfectly acceptable. Any magic we would need to do for ada would be worth the money as well as advanced the cause of the succubi and as such our own ascension to the throne of earth. Any power she gains advances our goal of liberating earth from pride demons (and thus being appointed ruler of earth... and honestly what we really want is the bitches and tea and books)Her alliance with us in support to the queens is an unrelated thing to us working as a head mage. But there is no downside to us working as her head mage.If we didn't work as her head mage we would have been providing the service to her anyways since it advances our goals, as the stronger she is the more powerful the succubi are on earth.
>>24855813Bullshit. We are allowed to work for other people while under her employ, nothing I suggested (except the Suggestion, whatever) is as ethically questionable as that.
>>24855806You haven't been reading what anyone has been saying, have you? People simply want an understanding that Ada won't put us in the incredibly awkward position of ordering us to do something in public without clearing it with us ahead of time. And her automatic support if we decide to decline a noble's request, which obviously does not mean declining every request.
ok this is going in circles now. Why don't we just wait for Sand to post?
>>24855813More like we don't want to lose access to the Langys' library. Though now that we have the space control book that is less of a priority.
>>24855859Oh, its utter horseshit. Doesn't mean people haven't said that in previous threads.
>>24855889Cuz we're impatient and already in autosage.
>>24855891How would Amanda basically agreeing to giving us stock in her company in return for helping her with her brothers and turning her into a succubi lose us access to the Library.
>>24855869You are the one who hasn't been reading.1. She can't clear every order with us first2. We are not a yes man we are the royal mage, we can argue with her in public citing our "expertise" in the field or magic.3. There is nothing awkward about keeping up appearances4. Unless she orders us to do something immoral like rape or some such then any order she gives benefits succubi cause and thus benefits us. Unless the order is DUMB in which case see #2
>>24855869>>24855939plus the phrasing of it was not going to achieve what those people WANTED. It was only going to ruin our friendship and alliance.
>>24855896No, they wanted to bank the favors for influence over the girls farther down the road. Having sources of income outside Ada aren't a "betrayed of trust", just a waste of time since we're leaving town within two weeks.
>>24855939Okay, then we say clear it with us in private if possible. Happy now?
>>24856005there is nothing to clear up.
>>24855992They explicitly said it was a betrayal of her trust.
>>24856018Yes their most certainly is.
>>24855939Isn't this more or less the oral agreement we established with her before signing the actual contract?
>>24856005Next time we talk to her, sure. I'm going to object to storming into her room in the middle of the night no matter how things are phrased.
>>24856005I think this is a good compromise. I have no problem doing our job. Knowing we have her support when dealing with idiot nobles is very important though.
Too bad we found something like consensus after the writing started...
>>24856082Too bad we found consensus like 3 threads ago and have been pointlessly arguing
>>24856104Too bad you were doing something else when the vote happened.
>>24856082What I find amusing is that the consensus is just basically a reworded version of what everyone hated, with a sheet anchor thrown in in case something isn't practical.
>>24856120umm i was there when the vote happened and i was for it, i don't know what your trying to get at, but whatever it is, you're wrong
>Find SLQ>Oh shit 370 posts did I miss it?>Drama>Drama>Drama>Drama
>>24856125There is no consensus as there is nothing to explain, everything that is asked from us is in the contract I don't even get why we're doing this.
>>24856125I wonder if Mina will stick with us if we start to deviate from the cause of Justice! as our lust for power and dominance grows?
>>24856152It's an old argument. And one side repeatedly telling the other that they are stupid has only inflamed matters.
>>24856170Because the contract is obvious bullshit? We aren't going to actually follow it at all you realize.
so its been more than an hour since Sandact started 'typing', does it usually take this long?
>>24856055Yes, IIRC she even told us that if one of the very rare few nobles actually higher ranked then us gives us an unreasonable order to come to her to counter it. (which is one of the two things they want us to run into her room in the middle of the night to demand; the other being that she personally brief us in private on anything she intends to say to us in public which is absurd).>>24856125Nobody was against refusing unreasonable orders or threatening to quit if she makes them. What people were against was the idea that we run into her room in the middle of the night to "lay down the law". Which was first argued as "explain to her that she serves us" and later toned down to "explain to her that we refuse to any any work ever, she just gives us free money"
>>24856174Don't worry. She will once we break her to her new cause... US!
>>24856170Because some anons want to rule Ft. Hope despite the logistical difficulties, and feel threatened by strong allies because ambition always leads to backstabbing apparently...not really a concern in this setting, but whatever.
>>24856195>Because the contract is obvious bullshit? We aren't going to actually follow it at all you realize.Wait how is it bullshit? People knew what was expected from the head mage when it was voted on.
>>24856198That's not what people are saying at all and you know it.
>>24856230except that is what people were saying
[1/4]“Very well, but for now... I am...” you sigh as you close and rub your eyes. “Dead tired and need to head to bed...” “Yes... Master Langy said the same thing before she went to bed early. She explicitly told her royal door guards and maids, ‘Do not bother me for the rest of the night unless all of Fort Hope is in flames.’ She’s been literally been signing documents for all day.” Linda says as she puts down her cup and begins to take away the dishes. “Yea she earned her rest. For the moment I’ll need to be heading to bed now myself. I can barely stay awake anymore...” you mutter. “Do you need anything else milady?” Linda asks you as she finishes putting everything on the serving tray. “No that’d be it Linda. Thank you very much for bringing up the tea supplies.” you tell her. “But of course milady. If anything I should be thanking you for such a delicious cup to tea. If you need a maid, please pull the rope next to your bed. I too will be retiring shortly, but rest assured another maid will be glad to help you. Goodnight milady.” Linda says as she leaves your room. Taking one quick look around your room, you make a small groan in realization in this new room lacks one of the features of your old place. Working indoor plumbing. “...Thank god I don’t need to use chamberpots...” you mutter to yourself as you crawl into your bed and fall fast asleep in record time. The fact that your new mattress feels far more comfortable than the last one in a plus. ****** After taking a very long and well deserved rest, you wake up at 10:00 AM the next morning. Linda brings you a traditional Fort Hope breakfast of toutons, fish, potatoes, and milk to wash it all down with. Nice to have some home cooked meals for once. Usually you’re used to going out to the market for breakfast.
>>24856195You reallise that the plan is to leave Fort Hope for a couple years as soon as our loose ends are wrapped up?
>>24856226Because it has all sorts of provisions about being loyal to the pride demons and following their laws.
[2/3] While you eat, Linda gets out a fresh pair of clothes and underwear for you, in which after getting ready for the day and thanking her, you walk on downstairs to meet Ada inside of her private study. “Miss Langy. The Court Magician is here to see you.” the royal guard who escorted you into the study room says. “Very well. Leave us be.” Marina says to the guards and maids next to her who promptly exit the room. “How do you far Madame Langy?” you say doing a small curtsy while people are leaving the room. Marina puts down her quill and begins to rub her wrist. “I’d honestly never thought I’d develop carpal tunnel syndrome so soon...” You wait until the door is closed before speaking the next bit. “Aren’t you nearly 50?” “Yes but for our kind it is quite young. My statement about getting it so early still stands.” Marina replies as she shakes her wrist a few times. “Given how long that is, true. But about why I came here. I wanted to you talk to you about those job requirements you gave to me last night.” you tell her. “Just to be clear, I didn’t make those up. I had to get an archivist to find me the job requirements of the last Royal Mage. I think the only reason Langy didn’t burn the document and declare any court magician illegal is because he lacked that authority.” Marina replies. “I’m pretty sure why you took that job Brooklyn. Besides being a cushy job with a lot of freedom, it gives you certain rights normally not available to mortals. I sent you that so that on-the-record, you appear as a normal court magician following normal rules.” Marina says. “And off the record?” you ask.
>>24856230>That's not what people are saying at all and you know it.no he's right that's exactly what was argued for
[3/4] “Off the record you’re welcome to do as you please. Nobody here actually knows your powers. If anything they’ll be coming to you to ask for information on magic and the supernatural in general. If you wish to make yourself known to not have any sort of magical powers, than by all means treat any request you receive to cast magic as you do so. Just throw some of the higher nobles a bone about magic once in a while if they ask for it. If they sign a petition where two thirds of them want you out, then you’re gone.” Ada says. “Can’t you veto it?” you ask. “Yes, but if two thirds of the people originally signed it than a veto can really only purchase time in that case.” Ada tells you. “As for the me being your boss description, unofficially I’ll let you continue as you were before. As in you help me I help you sort of favor system.”“Even with the spending budget?” you ask.Ada makes a small sneer as she flicks her wrist. “Please. Trivially easy to get that much if you’re a social infiltrator. I’ve seen Ayarians and Miyians pull in nearly five times that amount with far less restrictions for their station. If anything I feel unfair only giving you that much, especially considering the people you’ve introduced me too. But just remember there are a few other major tenants you must follow. First is you cannot go against the Langy Family or Articus openly. This doesn’t mean you must blindly follow orders. As an expert on magic you’re allowed to voice any concerns, but I don’t think such a level of concern will ever be reached unless someone higher than me forces my hand. This also means that you cannot strike any Langy family member unless you have permission from that member with eyewitnesses, an order from me, or in self-defense. Lastly you must defend Fort Hope if the magical attack clause comes up. Given that most of our problems are ghost related, Brodin will be a godsend when he heals.”
>>24856260Well yeah, if a demon knight ask you to do something you do it because demon knight have more authority than Ada, this isn't new.
[4/5]“How often does that happen?” you ask. “Not often. Though one of the reasons I wished to take over the Langy family instead of a new non-Langy leader is that the Forest of Regret has a treaty with the Langy family. Officially they will not attack us so long as we send three people a year to within the forest.” Ada says. “Refusal means we’d be neck deep in vengeful ghost spirits.” “...You know Erika and the rest of the group fought off a Necromancer from that place, a rather powerful one, who wanted to take over Fort Hope right? Like actually said it himself.” you tell Ada. “Unofficially they send out whomever they want, say ‘Oops, crazy ghost person! Not our fault! Sorry!’ and we can do officially nothing, as there are ghosts so crazy that they have lost all common sense or reason.” Marina says. “...But... This one was intelligent! He made an entire town of people into super zombies!” you say. “Crazy ghost.” Ada replies. “AN. ENTIRE. TOWN.” you report. “Crazy. Ghost. I’m aware what utter nonsense this agreement is. It even states that no military force, mercenary/adventurer/etc belonging to Fort Hope can enter those grounds without the treaty being broken unless they are sacrifice escorts. Personally I’d never make such an agreement, but for now we honor it as if we break it then we’d be flooded with spirits, and now is not a good time to be attacked by them.” Ada says. “Honestly? I think unlike Articus who we can feel, we will not fool the spirits to the Forest of Regret. They honestly don’t care who we are other than vermin living in a place they wish in inhabit.” “Did you mention such to Brodin’s boss?” you ask.
>>24856263Wrong, they are arguing for extra authority, in case they need it. That is different from flagrantly abusing the authority once given.
>>24856260Which is the price of being a publicly recognized HUMAN mage (apologies for caps, sorry). Our status gives us access to all kinds of restricted information, that's why the juice was worth the squeeze.
[5/5] “Yes he came by this morning. Nearly giving me a heart attack in the process. He said he’d look into it while he’s here but such matter do not fall under his jurisdiction. Given that he’s far stronger than Blizzarios... Nay even the Poseidon we fought, we could probably get some answers from him soon.”(As for the part numbers, it's hard to predict this. Anywho, I'm off to bed now. I tried to nail down most of the questions and concerns raised earlier. Post what you want to do next and I'll do it first thing next thread)
>>24856315> Post what you want to do next and I'll do it first thing next threadwe totally need to meet brodin's boss and have tea with him
>>24856297I'm arguing that we were already planning to completely ignore half the contract, given that we are planning widescale rebellion and all.
>>24856315next thread when?
>>24856340Next week as per usual. One on friday if I have free time.
>>24856334And she knows that, but don't take my word for it. See above.
>>24856332I agree. It's time to meet the boss, and maybe put in a good word for Brodin while we're at it.
>>24856359damn, i really liked it when a thread or two would last 2-3 days
>>248563151. work on our magic(water to average so we get immunity to cold)2. borrow the water reservoir cavern for flying practice/ learn to fly with Mina3. find out about making/getting a workshop
>>24856315Push for stronger protections against the nobles. Specifically, covering fire from Ada if needed. Also bring up our actual lord status, she deserves to know the stakes she is actually playing for. Oh, and ideas for how we can help Erika reintegrate back into the Langley family once the pride demons stop paying attention, and dealing with the paladin.
>>24856409We have immunity to cold already.
>>24856275The total is just a guess. That happens multiple times per thread.
>>24856409I am ok with this. Except replace water magic with space magic. As we already have immunity to cold.
>>24856315Go shopping and pick up a superlative tea set, really good tea leaves, and all of that. Meet with Brodin's boss, offer him tea, tell him what a good job Brodin's been doing, if he doesn't mind we can learn some more about souls and the like from him.Start educating Linda and lend her some books to read. Learn to fly with Mina.Get a workshop and start picking up Alchemy so we can make tea potions.>>24856409I'd rather not spend even more time on Water Control and instead focus on getting our Skills like History, Occult Theory, Demonology, and the like up to par as well as keeping up work on Light/Dark Control and Space Control.
>>24856449I've always been a fan of spirit control, but in this case learning more magic is a bad idea. Because we just received a pretty heavy handed hint to work on our nonmagical skills
>>248563151. Find out what it takes to get a workshop in order.2. Erika, how we can get her back in the castle without too much drama.3. Make a good outline for Linda. Books to read, things to look to for when reading them, etc etc4. Brodin's boss. Should have a chat with himDon't like planning much after that.
>>24856461We are already pretty good at those. Better to up our combat skills and politics. Since we are at court now.
>>24856441>>24856449I wishLast thread>It is not different from Ada's. You get resistance at basic level. Immunities kick in from Average level>>24856461know that we have basic it will only take a Day to upgrade to average
>>24856507We took the Magician job to stay out of politicking, our main job is knowing stuff and that's what we should focus on. Sure we can do a bit of combat stuff as well, but politics are annoying.
>>24856518some other things to think about getting>Fire Control: Gain immunity to mundane flame, resistance to supernatural flame.>Earth Control: Cannot be crushed by earth. Even in the middle of a landslide, you'd still be buried and unable to move, but you won't be crushed to death by the pressure and always have breathable air. You also gain a sort of tremorsense which allows you to detect if underground caverns (natural or manmade) exist below your feet.>Wind Control: Immunity to mundane electricity, resistance to magical electricity and wind attacks.>Healing: Gain complete immunity to mundane illnesses and poisons. Gain resistance supernatural illnesses and poisons. Life Control offers similar benefits, but the Healing versions are more powerful due to the focused nature of the magic.
I think we should get our axe skill up a bit. Some of the combo moves are killer. Literally. Plus flying will be cool.
>>24856260>>24856280If we openly disobey Pride demon knights and she doesn't immediately sack us then we risk the pride demons finding out that succubi took over this town and this massively harms our plans. If a pride demon ever comes by and start giving orders we would have to either obey, or come up with a specific solution (like how we did with blizzarious).>>24856288We can learn magic from Brodin if we want to, that could be useful in fighting spirits.>>24856547The nice thing the immunities come at average skill, which IIRC takes us 1 or 3 days of practice to get to.And those aren't really combat min/maxing but quality of life stuff. Fire control prevents you from ever feeling "too hot", with fire immunity the desert feels comfortable. And we have no supernatural disease resistance at the moment. Also, levels above average increase resistance to magic attacks of that kind.I think we should get healing since there is not a single magical healer in the ENTIRE TOWN. Furthermore, we could claim our human mage focus is on healing and avoid most of the request to do things for nobles while still not pissing them off to sign the petition (since hey, only magical healer in town).
>>24856568We should also try to get Endurance to 'Basic', and dodge to 'Good!'
>>24856568I wouldn't mind if we took up artificing, also there is still the armour to deal with
>>24856623How would you even train endurance? Stand there and let Mina punch you for hours?
>>24856315Things to do (in no particular order whatsoever):1 - Teach Brothen a lesson if his lessons have resumed2 - Secure an off site laboratory3 - gather aether4 - Test Linda's aptitude for the occult5 - Ask Ada if she can think of a legitimate excuse to keep the merchant around for a few extra days (in a positive way for him, no criminal charges for example) since we could use a little more teaching time with the twins.6 - Learn the tea ritual and let the nobles think we got hired for our potion brewing skills.7 - meet Brodin's boss.8 - deal with the Paladin, or plan to.9 - deal eith Blizzy's bodyguards, or plan to.10 - requisition a wardrobe.11 - check in on the injured (Mina and Brodin).12 - check in on the reunited (Erika and Leona). 12b - Let Leona know that the transformation option could be on the table if she wants to go for it, but we have no intention of pressuring her into anything and don't have the resources for a transformation at the moment anyway.13 - check to see if the doctor has been given clearance to set up an alchemy lab yet. If so, contract the twins father to supply us with reagents.14 - see if we can get the bone armor identified.15 - see the twins for their decision.I think that will fill most of the day, but try to squeeze in some space control studying if there's any time.Come the weekend (assuming most of our allies are heals and the twins are still around) we hunt bandits for the queens.Tl;dr, a long, unsorted To Do list for tomorrow.
>>24856607What I was saying was that those provisions about things like not fomenting rebellion are utter horseshit. Essentially, the contract was for public consumption only.
>>24856651>How would you even train endurance? Stand there and let Mina punch you for hours?we've got just above peak human strength so I suggest marathon running and sparing
>>24856568I'm still wholly against the axe skill. We shouldn't be putting ourselves into those type of fights and we have spells to get us out of those fights.I'm for other combat skills like Dodge, Willpower, and even Endurance. Though it be nice to have the whole list of skills we could have. (SAND!)And yes, flying would be cool.
>>24856683>>24856693Oh, I figured it was toughness endurance not stamina endurance. What do we even need that for?
What do:1. Deal with paladinThis should be our number 1 goal at the moment.Everything else is stuff to do afterwards, which includeS:2. Learn healing (never be sick again! eventually could regrow mina's arm, could heal allies, could sell healing services or do it gratis for good will of townies)>>24856500 +1 to all of those>>24856518 +1 to taking 1 day to get average water control for immunity to mundane cold (we live in an eternal snow storm, quality of life!)>>24856461 +1 to learn to fly.>>24856666obviously.
>>24856568I agree. If only for our sologram clones.
>>24856651Lengthy flight exercises.Kill two birds with one stone!
>>24856688>I'm still wholly against the axe skillI'm 50/50 on this. on one hand boosting Axe will make our solidiograms more dangerous and help when we get dragged into melee, on the other we don't want anything to do with melee combat and the time could be better spent learning more magic
>>24856688Just improving axe skill will not force us to be a melee fighter. In fact it will improve our soliogram soldiers, who will be doing the fighting for us.
>>24856651Aerobic excercise. I am not kidding.Mina excercises daily and was willing to show us how.
>>24856657When we talk to Leona about the offer, mention her True Faith, how it protects her, and how that will effect her sister.
>>24856758I am all for improving Axe skill, improving skills is awesome. I am against prioritizing it over a dozen other skills that are more valuable to us right now.
>>24856288I am wondering why the ghosts of the forest wants sacrifices?Would be funny if we had enough aether to convert the ghosts of the forest of regret into succubi. But that is probably unfeasible
>>24856753>on the other we don't want anything to do with melee combat and the time could be better spent learning more magicNot just magic even. Other combat skills that /are/ useful to us. Like Dodge. That would be time better spent.>>24856758>who will be doing the fighting for usYou mean exploding. Because I'll never suggest just the base ones. If they get hit, they go boom.
>>24856793aren't the ghosts basically food for us?
>>24856753>help when we get dragged into meleeAlso, we have a spell to get us out of melee and are learning space control to get another move set I imagine to get us out. The only way we get stuck in melee is if some drops an anti-magic field in which case, we're just fucked.
>>24856800>You mean exploding. Because I'll never suggest just the base ones. If they get hit, they go boom.if we raise our Light control they will be able to shoot lasers
>>24856832>Also, we have a spell to get us out of melee and are learning space control to get another move set I imagine to get us out. The only way we get stuck in melee is if some drops an anti-magic field in which case, we're just fucked.remember the dream sequence with the light balls removing all the shadows?
>>24856832The issue is assuming that the other guy can't follow us. A melee fighter...or worse, a grappler who knows a little magic to help them move could ruin us as they can chase as far as we can run.
>>24856814Undead aether is poisonous to us.
>>24856857>Enemy grappler is following usThats what our allies are for. Also, how does axe skill help with him? at all?We should get dodging.
>>24856800>If they get hit, they go boom.Except, the higher the axe skill, the longer they last and the more damage they do before exploding. Thus; more Aether efficient than spamming what is basically just a more costly version of Annihilator shot.
>>24856814Nope. They're Undead and if they're anything like Brodin that means that their Aether will kill us dead.
>>24856856>are learning space controlI don't think that's going to need shadows and something we should be working on. Also, another control we'll need to look into would be Time because time h4x are the best.
>>24856894>>24856866Thank you for clarifying
>>24856866Unless we learn death control or necromancy, right?
>>24856891We should improve our shadow porting so traveling doesn't require line of sight.
>>24856837Which means I would still not want axe skill. If they can shoot lasers I want them away from combat and if someone manages to get to them and hits them then boom. Assuming the boom version gets lasers as Light control grows.
>>24856907Maybe, but I doubt it.It says for Brodin's entry that they're poisoned unless they're undead, learning necromancy/death control doesn't make us undead AFAIK, though at higher levels it might let you count as undead, so maybe.>>24856926If we get Space Control we can actually do that. But yes, we should keep on upping Darkness Control, but Light Control first, we want to keep them in sync with each other.
>>24856892Also, the harder they are to kill, the more enemy soldiers will be forced to cluster around them when they do go "boom."
>>24856926If we get space control to basic our line of sight is 360 degrees and through walls.
>>24856950Agree with upping light before delving back into darnpkness, but I would also suggest that after we get a Light Form we should develop a Light/Darkness hybrid form. Think about it.
>>24856907Check it out yourselfhttps://docs.google.com/document/d/1jIfmmTHbwrujeLZ9CkBeVoTEs6_uJPpo7CW5EKKTj_8/editReaper Aetheric Affinity is what gives it, its a reaper unique ability.Death control does not give it.
Hey, I wonder if we can make 'hard light shields' with Light control? We can already make soliograms, which are basically hard light constructs.
>>24856950>we want to keep them in sync with each other.Agreed. I would like to see that Light version of the Darkness Form and if we can combine those into even better transformation.
>>24856972If we can jump a mile in one port I'll be satisfied.
>>24856997Soliograms don't have to be people. They're just solid illusions. I see no reason we couldn't make a shield. But it would be a pretty crap shield, seeing as Soligrams vanish or explode if you hit it them too hard.
>>24857014With decent Space Control, easily. Especially if it's to a location we know.
Am I the only one worried that nobody in the entire town/party knows healing magic?>>24856972To name just one of the awesome things it does.I want to use it to scry our old corpse and try to teleport it to us for annihilation
>>24856994Hmm, ok death control (at least as a low level passive ability) is out. Guess I'm still hoping for a non-time consuming way to expand our feeding options. And prevent our enemies from forming ghosts when we kill them.
>>24857034Maybe something like temp Light Screen. Just something to tank one hit for us would be nice.
>>24857052You are not, but we've got too many priorities and not enough of a starting point to make a move on healing control at the moment.
>>24857052I support learning healing magic for the disease immunity so we don't start a new AIDS epidemic with all the slutting around we're doing.
>>24857034What I'm saying is we should try to find a way around that, where if it gets hit, instead of just vanishing, it just takes more Aether to maintain it. Maybe we could hybridize light control with space control, to make it more physical?
>>24857065Light shields weigh nothing, why aren't you proposing layering shield on top of shield so incoming weapons can't make it thought to us?
>>24857014If I understand space control correctly.Jumping 10 feet to a place we have never seen before should be harder then jumping across the ocean to a place we lived in for years.Jumping back would be impossible since you are unfamiliar with the location...Basically, it is a "town portal".>>24857063>prevent our enemies from forming ghosts when we kill them.Kill them via consuming their soul? It doesn't poison you since they arne't ghosts yet.>>24857094:). Yea I actually was seriously considering our ever growing number of sexual partners which I came up with that idea.>>24857089We could self learn, we self learned water control. Also there are the queens to ask questions from.
>>24857052Anyway we could turn Leona into the party healer? I think it would suite her personality a lot better than being an Aide.
>>24857138Actually, I thought Ada helped teach us water control, other wise it would have taken significantly longer.
>>24857229turning her into anything is going to be a long term plan with dealing wit h her faith and whatnot, and it would be better to not rely on a healer we don't even have yet, even if the party does get a healer, it is always handy to be able to do it ourselves
>>24857249Talking about combat/dedicated party roles, not our capabilities. I agree we should learn some healing, I disagree with it becoming a specialty.
>>24857229Erika is already the party leader. She's already got Leadership and Support Attack, can attack at melee or range to fill in where she needs to be and always get Support Attacks off, and with her psychic stuff, like seeing the future and being able to set up a psychic tactical communications network, she is obviously the best suited for commanding battlefield strategy as well as leading in other situations like dungeon crawls.
>>24857229Well, if she becomes a healer she'll probably be using holy power. Sebastian and the boys would appreciate it, but it just burns us. When we reveal ourselves to her as a demon, we'll also need to talk to her about her faith. How it works, how it protects her, how it effects us and her sister, and what her options are. No lies, no half truths.
>>24857310>Well, if she becomes a healer she'll probably be using holy power.the damage is an additive that doesn't need to be there. churches literally tack it onto existing spells so that it will damage demons
>>24857300Erika is the combat commander, we set party objectives (I hope). Not seeing how that relates to acquiring a healer though?
Here's a question - if Brodin is a type of angel and used to be human, could something similar happen with Leona? We'll need to ask his boss about that.
>>24857310Oh right, we haven't actually told Leona that. We just kinda got distracted, though I'm surprised that she hasn't worked it out herself, she's not the sharpest tool in the shed.I mean seriously, a beautiful woman who knows magic and can throw it around who turned someone else into a Succubutt, it's not a hard guess.>>24857361That's because I'm an idiot and a bit tired, I misread healer as leader and was confused. But yeah, Erika generally does battlefield command, she's good at it. We're the combat artillery and the main goal setter of the party.
>>24857375>We'll need to ask his boss about that.no we shouldn't pester the badass angel
>>24857375It could, the question is whether she'd be subject to the laws that most other angels seem bound by. We want her to be able to keep working with us without attracting an archangel to chew her out for insubordination and kill us for being in the area.
>>24857383I think it's more likely that she thinks very highly of us, and still isn't used to the idea of a demon being a decent person.Considering her experiences with Pride and Greed demons...
>>24857383>she's not the sharpest tool in the shedShe is actually really smart though. She just doesn't see things she doesn't want to see. Too much Faith.
>>24857383Ok, we're on the same page then.Good night and good luck all still lurking here.
>>24857419>>24857411We've done everything short of literally waving a neon fucking sign in her face saying "I'M A SUCCUBUTT!" But I accept that it's probably Faith keeping her from noticing. At least us revealing we're a Succubutt will probably go better than Erika's reveal as we have kinda ripped apart Paladouche's credibility by now, and by we I mean Brodin, broest bro to ever reap souls. We'll educate her out of her faith eventually, or at least make it functional faith that isn't blind to the world.
>>24857468>functional faithThat's my best hope for Leona right now. I think we could do it by shifting her focus away from the Church of Illysia, and directly with Celestia instead.
>>24857522Celestia isn't better, they too preach that all demons are evil.
>>24857538Well we preach that they are all poopyheads.
>>24857522Isn't Celestia the head of the Church of Illysia?
>>24857538Well obviously not all demons are evil. There must be some angels that aren't inflexible.Maybe angels are just too far removed from the dirt on the ground, except for those who regularly interact with mortals like reapers.
>>24857579That is correct.
>>24857579The Church is like a subsidiary. There are other organizations, I think. It would be interesting to see if there are any doctrinal conflicts between them, and Brodin told the Paladin that the Church was not only full of shit about death and souls but that his angelic superior would react badly to such misinformation. It's also worth remembering that Celestia burned the Vatican to the ground.
>>24857647its also worth remembering at all times that celestia is full of douches
