Hello and Welcome to Millicent Fauxly Quest. >For Updates on the Quest: @PesterHouseElf >Previous threads can be found here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=millicent+fauxMillicent Fauxly is am intelligent and good willed first year Hogwarts student. Housed in Ravenclaw and from a noble Pureblood family Millicent has a good understanding of the wizarding world, yet struggles with terms such as ‘mudblood’ and seeing house elfs as anything more than servants. request: can artfags work on a Millicent Fauxly wallpaper? Can be anything you like I'm using pic related as one right now.
>>24346062I believe we left off last time trying to tell Maud to run while grabbing the Trident and trying to escape the golems.
I like Millicent threads but are there any better examples of fanart?
Alright, time for more Millie.

(is everyone okay with this tight formatting?)“Surely there is something we can do?” you say, beginning to cry, holding your sister tight. Maud holds you tight then looks up at Dad who still looks idly into the window, an oblivious memory unknowing of what’s really going on. “I know I dissapointed you” she says “I wanted us to be together, to stay in the leaky cauldron, but I couldn’t see past my hate. I love you”“I love you” you say, as the world brightens all around you, sound fading, your embrace becoming soft.“Be careful” she says “I might not be the same”The world fades. The cavern comes crashing back to reality. The golemn ahead of you, the Trident limp on the floor, water rising. You turn to Maud who looks around with a confused expression as if she had just woken up from a deep sleep. 1)Run Maud!2)Run!3)Fend of the Golemn4)Take Trident or leave it
Goals (incomplete): Get out of this cavern and back to safety with everyone alive and not losing the TridentBreak Professor Trib's curseHelp our sister however we canMake sure the world knows what a colossal asshole Salazar Slytherin was
Okay I'm finally up to date from skim reading (gonna do a more in depth read through later). I'm in. Let's do this.
>>24346198>(is everyone okay with this tight formatting?)Makes things a tad hard to read, to be honest.>votesSame as last thread. Grab trident because it holds Maud's memories, then get out of there as fast as we can.1)Run Maud!2)Run!4)Take Trident or leave itIf we can shoot the golem while running, I'd be okay with that too.

>>24346282Can you add making sure history remembers Salazar Slytherin as the douchebag he was?Because I really feel as if that's something we should aspire to accomplish.
>>24346198"BOOK IT!"Maud might not even know her name, we don't know the exact damage the trident did. If she doesn't respond to that, just grab her and pull her out of the cave, trident in tow.
“Run!” you shout as you wrangle out of your robe and throw it on the ground using it to scoop up the Trident. Maud, in a daze, turns and runs into the tunnel. Wasting no time you bolt after her and descend into the darkness which envelopes you. Behind you the Giant Golemn roars as the smaller ones shoot inside and claw for you. Roll 1d100 – 75 or less to get away
>>24346355...I'm pretty sure we ran so fast we just traveled back in time.

You run as fast as your feet can carry you as the smaller golemns struggle to keep up as they bounce and knock against one another. The light at the end of the tunnel comes into sight and you make a break for it, you care hear the giant golemn battering the smaller ones out of the way as your run out into the light. It’s midday now as you, Maud and Nathaniel flee from the tunnel and back away to the denser trees of the forest. The giant golemn clambers out of the tunnel, it’s features turning to stone as it reaches for you. It isn’t happening fast enough however as it continues to claw it’s way out of the earth, his chest and waist already through. >Keep Running>Cast Lumos>Other

You continue running through the forest back towards the castle with your sister, Nathaniel and Charles who is way, way ahead of you after a decent head start. “LUMOS!” you shout as a beam of blinding light shoots from your wand at the Giant Golemn. It gives a squeal of pain as it frees itself out of the tunnel and bounding for you. Your beam of light causes the right side of it’s body to harden to stone completely until...the outer shell breaks to reveal more of the golemn’s flesh, smaller yet still very much alive. Like a Matryoshka doll a smaller golemn the size of a troll breaks out of it’s outer shell and continues after you. You keep running as fast as your feet can carry you until you arrive at the edge of the forest to the grounds of the castle. Ahead you see Olivia, Robert, Nigel and Joel standing there with Charles. >Run for it!>Cast Lumos for the love of all that is *breath* holy!>other

“Cast Lumos for all that is” you take half a second to catch your breath “HOLY” The others give a look of confusion before seeing the rampaging statue wildy swiping it’s way toward you all. You reach your friends, turn on your heels and together you all shout “LUMOS MAXIMA!” A resounding beam of bright pure light erupts from the wands of your friends, and Charles and even Maud. The Golemn continues to approach, each step sluggish as with every moment it cracks from it’s outer shell again and again, becoming smaller and smaller until it stops at your feet the size of one of the babys, turning finally into an immovable statute. You take a deep sigh of relief. “Well that was exciting wasn’t it?” says Nigel cheerfully. “Bloody exciting” says Joel, clapping him on the shoulder. “Why was it attacking us again?” says Maud In order of importance...>Go see the headmaster >Go to the tree and get the parchment>Inspect Maud

You look to your sister and grab her by the hand to find her looking down at you with a pleasant smile. There is little comprehension between her eyes, you could be a stranger to her. A memory stirs of your great aunt Gramilda who suffered from alzehiemers disease, remembering the way she would pretend to know who people were to avoid looking like a fool.“Do you remember me?” you ask with slow drawn out words as the answer already seems so apparent. “Erm, well” stammers Maud, looking to the others then back to you “Should I?”Your friends look to each other in confusion.>Yes, I’m your little sister>Please tell me you remember something!>hug>other>>24347570You still think I'm the fat kid don't you? :3

>>24347718way to action movie dialog for me.
>>24347632...Like hell we're dealing with this.Tell everyone to back away, back away ourselves to a safe-ish distance, and toss the Trident at Maud while saying "THINK FAST!".Time to see if Salazar Slytherin was as dumb as I think he was.
>>24347760>you'd best start appreciating action movies>because you're in one
>>24347777So you think that once in the hands of a Pureblood Slytherin, the Trident will automatically open itself to her? I don't think that's the way it works.
>>24347816Well I'm pretty sure it's not sentient, since Salazar Slytherin doesn't still haunt the Earth with his unrepentant douchebaggery. In my mind, the worst case scenario is nothing happens, in which case we're didn't lose any ground.
>>24347864>the worst case scenario is nothing happensWell no, the worst case scenario is that it automatically absorbs SOMEONE's memories upon being touched, and will drain even more of Maud's memories, effectively making her unable to function at even a child's level.
>>24347632>Yes, I'm your little sister. My name's Millie.>hug>What do you remember, Maud?
>>24347887That's a fair point I suppose.
“Yes, I’m your little sister. My name is Millicent. You’re Maud. And I love you”You give her a hug, still holding the Trident wrapped inside your robe, then step back and pocket your wand. You take Maud’s hand, her sense of unease clear as she looks close to hyperventilating. “I still don’t understand” she says “has someone used a memory removal spell on me?” Your friends seem to want to know the answer to this question too.>Explain about her betraying you, finding the Trident and escaping the golemn>Just the Trident and the Golemn>Tell her you’ll explain later and continue on to the tree
>>24347887>>24347864you guys suck a worse case senarios >worst case scenario is nothing happensworst case scenario is mutually assure destruction by nuclear winter through ghost controlled mecha shagohod.
>>24347970Triden and golem only. We're not rushed for time, are we?
>>24347970>>Just the Trident and the GolemnAnd continue on to the tree.
>>24347970>>Just the Trident and the Golemn
>>24347970>Just the Trident and the GolemnI really don't like the idea of her NOT knowing her mistakes or lying about this kind of stuff but it's of little use to her without the complete context and would just cause problems in her current state.
>>24347970>explain that she chose this >Explain about her betraying you, finding the Trident and escaping the golemni think it's easier to just be up front about it because in ever story ever they choose to pussy foot around until the person gets their memory back and goes ape shit
>>24347970>Just the Trident and the GolemnWe can tell her about the betrayal later, maybe.
>>24347970"The answer is yes and no. The good news is that your memories still exist, albeit not in your head. The bad news is that they're stuck in this Trident, because Salazar Slytherin sucks."
>>24348058Well... I'll go with this now.
>>24347970>Just the Trident and the GolemWe shall tell her about the betrayal in private, when she's got her mental legs back under her. But it IS important that we say how much of a dickbag Salazar was for creating the Trident, which is essentially a date-rape/memory-eraser artifact in one.
>>24348058We can be upfront later, telling her that she's basically a cunt isn't going to help her at all right now.We take the time to explain not only her betrayal but also her choice to keep our own memories safe later.
>>24347970Save the betrayal part until we know how much of what Maud ever said were lies and how much was the truth. For all we know, she just made up the whole letter forging thing to fuck with our head, and kind of reopen our wound on the subject, when it had finally seemed to scab over.Judging by what she said in the Trident, it seems that she legitimately did want to be the loving sister she pretended to be, but just couldn't let go of her hatred....Hey, so what are the chances that the Trident didn't force her to choose between her memories and ours, and she just said they did because she wanted a new start.
>>24348058Fuck that.Considering there's still a lot we don't know about what Maud did and how she did it, or why she wanted the Trident so badly, there's no telling how accurate what we say will be.At best, leave it vague.
>>24348168what if she wanted the trident because of what >>24348125 said?
>>24348058What if we don't go into her betraying us, but we do say that she chose this in order to protect us?That way she knows that it was her decision to have her memory erased, but not why, and we can tell her the why later when she's calmer and more emotionally stable?
>>24348125I agree with this. Also hello guys, I finally have a day off work so I can actually involve myself in the decision-making processes.>What are the chances that the Trident didn't force her to choose etc.Hmmm... Seems unlikely to me, based on what we know of Maud's character. She's not that mercurial.
You explain to the group everything that happened within the cavern, including Maud losing her memory, you decide to leave out her betrayal for the time being. Charles, who has stayed silent since the Golemn attack, chooses to remain so and doesn’t interrupt your story. “I’m sorry we weren’t there with you” says Joel, “We should have come sooner, we’re horrible friends”“Yeah, sorry” says Nigel “I...oh there’s no excuse for it” The hold their heads in shame as they look at you. >It’s alright. You’re here now and there’s still work to do>Apology accepted, just give me time to sort this out in my head>other

>>24348207"There will be plenty of time to make up for that later."It seems like Maud only forgot her personal details, considering she knows what memory charms are. That seems kind of weird, given what the Trident is ostensibly supposed to do.

>>24348193I don't know, I kind of got the impression that Maud was trapped near the end.Like she just couldn't let go of her jealous hate, but she also couldn't stop caring about us at the same time....I suppose we won't know for quite a while.

>>24348527We aren't Slytherin, bro. And Maud chose to lose her memories over ours, completely different. It's probably why she hasn't lost her knowledge of magic. It was meant to steal other people's knowledge, it probably just wiped her memories because she wasn't worthy.
>>24348590Huh, that's a good point.Plus it might be that the Trident wouldn't bother stealing a bunch of basic spells that it already knows?

Our ownership of it is so natural its silly. Maybe if we touch it we'll talk to Salazar too? always wondered what he looks like.
>>24348646I thought the only reason that test triggered was because Maud and us were both touching it at the same time?
>>24348546ironic that they are out hunt a witch that episode.
>>24348667>gift to Ravenclaw...Are you a fucking moron?
>>24348578is robert a pure blood? we dont even know his last name.
>>24348618Still not sure what the status re: being disowned is.That last letter at least seems difficult to forge.
>>24348667It was a fake gift to steal Rowena's memories.>>24348669Doesn't mean there wouldn't be a different kind of test.>>24348697Plus the crystal ball vision seems to be 100% true now.
>>24348695Well... he's in Slytherin isn't he? I'd say there's at least a 90% chance he is.Plus I'm pretty sure his parents were in the same gossip circles as our parents?
>>24348683I don't question the will of the dice gods, without their hand in this we'd have just been put in slytherin.(why does my name keep dropping)
>>24348667>A piece of Slytherin given as a gift to Ravenclaw, much like the tridentI'm not sure, but I think you've vastly misinterpreted the intention of the Trident. It wasn't a gift, whatever it said on the haft; it's a mindraping artifact meant to rip memories from unwilling minds and make those memories available to someone as ruthless as Salazar Slytherin. It is an artifact of betrayal, not of friendship.
>>24348711>>24348727maybe we're ment to be her redemption.
>>24348711Plus given that we're making friends with half-bloods and muggleborn, and are even learning to value house elves as people, getting kicked out of the house kind of seems like an inevitability regardless.
>>24348721the dice gods did what they were told on that occasion we wanted to be ravenclaw and we got it.
>>24348741take the weapon that broke ravenclaw and make it a symbol of our triumph.
>>24348650How do people feel about this?
>>24348777I'm pretty okay with it.
>>24348777sounds good to me
>>24348765No.We're making it a symbol of how much Salazar Slytherin sucks. We are going to find a way to give our sister her memories back, and are going to shove at least most of them back in her head. We're then going to drain the rest memories of the Trident into Pensieves or whatever. And then we're going to throw it into a volcano.
>>24348777i dont think we should let other get the parchment and potion. I think we should do that so if we need to give charles and nate a talking to then tell them to wait for a minute while we school these fools
>>24348715voldermort was in slytherin and he was a half-blood, so was Snape. Robert's surname is Huxley. His parentage hasn't come up yet.
>>24348765Look, touching that shit all willy-nilly when we know that fucking Wizard Hitler is going to be in there ready to judge and mind-rape us is not a good idea.We still need the thing to save Maud but we're not just gonna wield it around like an idiot. We're Ravenclaw. We research first.
>>24348777Meant to type 'misconceptions' instead of 'preconceptions' but yeah I still stand by that.

>>24348798Trench, volcano's periodically throw up.
>>24348809Don't we also know that his parents are in the same social circles our parents were in, therefore making it very likely he is a pure blood?
>>24348798and what better way to defile his legacy than to make a symbol of his domination a symbol of Ravenclaws triumph?>>24348810i concur. We need to prepare.
>>24348809oh yeah it was everyone else that doesn't have a last name.
what was bergles brother's name? crispin?
>>24348777Fine with it.
>>24348866Sounds right. Someone check the archives.
>>24348837If we throw it into a trench, we'll wind up accidentally awakening the horrific Deeplord....Is it wrong that I suspect that the history of the wizarding world is filled with terrible awful things?
>>24348777Okay with it except the letting other people search for the parchment and potion. We should go and get that because we're the ones who actually saw where it's buried. Fine for them to wait for us there, though.
>>24348866pretty sure it was Crispin
>>24348832Apologies if I sounded grumpy. Speaking across the internet takes away the meaning of what you're trying to say sometimes.
>>24348959You ask Nigel to go to the castle and retrieve both Trib and the Headmaster and bring them to the potion master’s study. With a diligent nod Nigel hurries off. Turning to the others you tell them to run ahead and search the tree whilst you talk with Nathaniel and Charles. They too leave at a brisk jog, Olivia kindly taking Maud by the hand and leading her in the right direction.“So” you say, looking to a sour faced Charles and the wooden featurelessness of Nathaniel. >Tell them how things should proceed
>>24348970i think first we need to sort out with nathaniel what he wants to do with himself now that he has a body. And also what we're going to tell the papers. Not sure what to say to charles. The little piss pants is most definitely terrified of us, but i don't think that's going to keep him from blabbing to anyone who pressures him about what happened.
>>24348970"Charles, Maud badgered you into assisting, and all three of us finished the mannequin. We turned it over to Nathaniel, and he led us to the tunnel. Everything in the tunnel happened as it did, and your wand was broken as we fought the big golem off to escape. "That's the story, and you'll stick by it, understood?"
>>24348970"Before you start, there's a good reason why I didn't tell Maud about what she did. And that's because, at the end of the day, the only thing I know for certain is that she was a damn good liar.Which is why you two are going to graciously fill in some of the gaps. Charles, when did my sister ally herself with you, how did you two steal my things, and why would she share the credit of discovering the Trident with you. I'm pretty sure she wasn't planning on killing you and leaving you where Nathaniel was, so that means she must have had a plan. You're going to tell it to me."
>>24348970"Keep the thing with Maud to yourselves. It's a family matter and I'll discuss it with her in private later."Also, apologize to Charles about the the wand and pain-curse.As for the Trident. I dunno. We definitely want to keep tabs on it since it has our sister's memories but I'm uncertain on what should be said about it.
>>24348970thug millie activate">Tell dem bitches how things should be, dawg i just realized i missed my chance to make the Usain bolt joke that I've been wanting to make.
>>24348970"So, I've won. I got the trident, and I'm going to be the one turning it in to the headmaster. It is a wicked tool, unfit for use. I don't want either of you telling my sister or friends what happened, I want to be the one to tell them, if they ever learn.Charles, you're a cheating bastard and I will give you none of the credit. You can take it or take it after a beating. Those are your only options.Nathaniel, I'll give you credit for leading me to the Trident, but I expect you not to mention the mess with Charles and Maud."
>>24348970Tell Nathaniel that Bergle murdered him and obliviated Trib and Crispin to cover it up and the location of the Trident. Might provide closure or whatever
>>24349053>>24349073Both of these. Are we going to let anyone know that we actually got the Trident, or should we let them think it was lost in the cave in? If the staff finds out, they may take it. If that happens, we lose the chance to research it (which might prevent us from getting the memories out of it).On the other hand, they might help us fix this. We don't know.
>>24349078Yeah we should apologize about the wand breaking and the crucio thing. But I still think that before we tell them to keep the thing with Maud to themselves, we need to clarify what the thing was.I mean why would she anything with Charles?Still have no clue where he fits in.
>>24349146I disagree with apologising for the wand breaking and the Crucio. He got what was coming to him.He gets into a duel, he needs to be ready to take the consequences.
>>24349135Even though we're the genius who figured out how to let ghosts interact with the physical plane (which should make us rich, unless it was already discovered and the government somehow managed a complete coverup) I think figuring out the Trident on our own might be too much.Plus we need to provide proof that Salazar Slytherin was a terrible person.
>>24349184He does stupid things and gets disproportionate retribution in return. He's the harmless buttmonkey and I'm honestly beginning to pity his existence.
i wish there was someone who could show us how to use the trident for a good purpose, is it capable of other stuff besides mid-raping people?does it give bonuses? can it be used as a wand? im really curious as to what all it can do, they never cover this stuff in the books.
>>24349236Headmaster, bro. Headmaster always knows about the mysterious shit, but they're prone to explain it in mysterious ways.
>>24349268Sounds like a plan, lloyd does seem exactly the right person to talk to about it.
“Charles, you will not say anything about my sister to anyone, understand?”“I understand” he says solemnly. “Nathaniel, can I count on you to do the same?”“Yes, miss Fauxly, however I do not believe this body will sustain me for much longer”“How come?” you say, reappraising his body, noticing the way the crystal ball in his chest faulters like a dying light bulb. “Oh”Nathaniel gives a tired sigh “It was nice while it lasted, I may have several more hours before it is over, thank you for that Millicent, truly”>You’re welcome. I’m sorry I couldn’t build you something permenant. >Maybe another crystal ball is needed>move on to discuss the fate of the Trident
oh, right, don't forget to pick up the little stone golem. Might be useful for something, later. At the very least it'd be interesting to study its workings.
>>24349380>Maybe another crystal ball is neededThis is an actually interesting project, that I'm sure should be worth SOME extra credit.
>>24349380"What's gonna happen when it runs out?"
>>24349380>You’re welcome. I’m sorry I couldn’t build you something permenant. >Maybe another crystal ball is needed
>>24349380"So Charles, before you don't say anything about my sister, can you say things to ME about my sister? And Nathaniel, unless you're going to pass on to the other side, I'll be able to make you another body in the future. I mean... I threw this together in three days, and I'm only eleven years old. That means I'm not even as close to as smart as I can be, and I'll be able to do better in the future. And don't say any nonsense about 'violating the natural order', because if that were the case, I wouldn't have been able to get this far."
>>24349380>Maybe it just needs to be recharged? We should talk to one of the professors about it.
>>24349380Can we try re-casting the ghost binding enchantments on the ball?
>>24349380>>Maybe another crystal ball is neededCould build you another.
>>24349380>what can we do for you nathaniel?>anything you can tell us about the trident? where'd you find it and do you remember what happened to you?
>>24349380Oh, and we really need to find out how Maud badgered Charles into working for her, how they got the mannequin from the Room of Requirement, AND WHERE THE FUCK IS TARA?!
>>24349592Oh yeah.Where the fucking fuck is our fucking cat.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t build you something more permenant, perhaps a new crystal ball is needed”Nathaniel raises a hand, the wooden hinges creaking. “You needn’t bother, the reason for it’s failure is with me” he says “Whilst this body isn’t causing any pain, it is not like having a true body of my own, I feel my spirit rejecting this body the way a foot wishes to be free of a shoe”For the time being you return your attention to Charles, telling him to tell you everything about what he and Maud were up to.“You may have already guessed” he begins, a tired snootiness in his voice “that I was the slytherin contestant. When I myself had looked into building a body for the ghost it proved too” he searches for the right wording “challenging, I needed a crytal ball, whilst talking my way into getting one in the divination room Maud asked me about it. She knew what I was up to from the start but led me on to believe she was none the wiser, that she could get one for me, ultimately she said she would only give it to me if I told her what it was for. Then she told me you were also a contestant and that she had ordered your house elf to redirect all your parent’s mail to her, and that he was forbidden to tell any wizard about it”With a sulky roll of his eyes he finishes his little monologue. “That enough for you?”>You were the contestant all along? Trust a slytherin to steal another’s hard work>That’s why my house elf sent Soup>Thank you for telling me this, now I hope we can move on from this and stay out of each others way from now on>ALSO WHERE IS MY CAT?!
>>24349651"Almost. Where's all my stuff, especially my cat?"
>>24349683Your school stuff is in the RoR, sorry if I wasn't clear about that.
>>24349651> That’s why my house elf sent Soup...>ALSO WHERE IS MY CAT?!>Thank you for telling me this, now I hope we can move on from this and stay out of each others way from now on
>>24349651Huh, using Pester to redirect all mail? That makes sense I guess, though that means that our parents apparently never talked to anyone in person the past several months.
>>24349651>ALSO WHERE IS MY CAT?!"And you know what will happen if you make me angry. Don't make me angry, Charles. You'll regret ever being born if you make me angry."
>>24349651"I swear to god I will stab you if you don't stop with that attitude, now."grab him by the collar"Where. Is. My. Cat.
>>24349717"Also the trident belongs in a museum!"
>>24349651Ah, so ghosts don't want to stay there permanently? That makes things difficult, but I'm pretty sure there might still be some market for it.
>>24349651>Anon:"There's no way someone could intercept all that mail without the government or school officials intervening!">HPQuest: i think you underestimate my..>*sunglasses*>*noodle arms*>~TACTICAL GENIUS~"
>wake up after a good night's sleep>expect to read HPQuest from the archives>quest has only just begun!FUCK YES.>>24349651>Thank you for telling me this, now I hope we can move on from this and stay out of each others way from now onEmphasis on 'stay the fuck away from me'. Sorry, Charles. Also,>WHERE IS MY CAT!?!??
>>24349651>she had ordered your house elf to redirect all your parent’s mail to her,Well, that's acceptable to me.
>>24349666its a witch with spewing fire and holding a trident like staff :D
Anyone wanna draw a depressed Millie with her chin on the table staring at a glass of scotch? No tears, eye bags, frown, scotch.Yes I know she's eleven.
...If the issue comes up, lets just say that Bergle pressured her into making Pester redirect our mail and convinced her that he had accomplices so she wouldn't stop doing it.
>>24349651>she had ordered your house elf to redirect all your parent’s mail to her, and that he was forbidden to tell any wizard about itShould we try to reconcile with our parents? Sure, they're racists and apparently they believed that letters are enough arbitration rather than face-to-face meetings to talk important issues out, but they do represent a source of money and resources.
>>24349737Add this too.
>>24349653I understand now. Sweet.
>>24349818I think it calls for firewhiskey
>>24349651>Thank you for telling me this. I hope that in the future I won't have to threaten you into cooperating, ok? *fake smile*>ALSO WHERE IS MY CAT?!
>>24349754But was that last mail a forgery, or a result of us not following whatever instructions we didn't receive from our parents.>>24349793Crystal ball seems to indicate we're getting disowned anyway and I don't really want to deal with the kind of environment that turns an 11 year old girl into a socially isolated and paranoid wreck and her 14 yr old sister into a spiteful manipulator who can't look past her jealousy to be the big sister she honestly wants to be.
>>24349782With Soup as the bartender pouring the drink
>>24349749Was there any other fallacies in the story I'm missing to explain?
>>24349782I've seen that flash.
>>24349844>Crystal ball seems to indicate we're getting disowned anywayMost likely from casting Salazar Slytherin in the worst light possible. But I think the effort should at least be made.
>>24349844No idea now..
>>24349885The letter we got this morning
>>24349904I don't remember that.
>>24349885That the idle rich that our parents are likely still have at least some circles of gossip, and would thus hear via the grapevine or Charles's furious parents about the kind of things we've been up to, in which case they'd realize that someone was blocking their mail due to not receiving anything from the headmaster?
>>24349898I honestly think THEY should be making the effort, not us.If they can't, fuck them.
>>24349904Also, our parents not showing up when we almost died. Maud not letting them know that seems unlikely given what we know about her now.
>>24349885don't worry about addressing that now, just make a note of it and drop it in a later thread.
>>24349952Also considering the severity of us casting an Unforgivable Curse, and no attempt at a coverup being made, I'm pretty fucking sure the Headmaster would visit our parents in person to make sure they knew.
>>24349952I have the answer to that but I'm not sure how to answer it in a reasonable way in the story. I could have Millie have a revelation, but it might sound trite.
>>24349982I say save it for whenever it's appropriate.
>>24349982Well it's either that or pulling the memories out of the Trident.
>>24349952Letters also intercepted by houseelf I assume
>>24349982Nah, just bring it up if you get a chance later. Maybe when we see our parents again. You don't need to shoehorn it in if it doesn't fit.
>>24349982Is it something that the parent's themselves could answer? If so, we could just wait until they show up; I mean they have to eventually.
>>24349920Like are you telling me that Charles's undoubtedly influential parents wouldn't try to sue our parents for everything they're worth?
>>24350010Still requires them to become complete recluses.
let the folks explain it when they show up. No reason to make a big stink about it now, more interesting things are about to happen imo :D
>>24350064Yeah if we're going to find out about it.But honestly I'm having a hard time roleplaying about being excited about having parents again. They don't seem to be good people.I guess OP's building up to something with them?
>>24350030Apparently yes? Wizarding world rules don't work like Muggle world litigation rules. I'm not sure if you can even sue anyone in the Wizarding world.
>>24350092Please just assume I have a plan for everything, the amount of times I want to discuss the story with you guys is killing me.
“Thank you for being honest with me, I think we can both agree to stay out of the others way from now on”Charles’ jaw tightens but he makes no attempt to say otherwise. You think back to the forgery that you received earlier this morning telling you that you were disowned. You remember putting it in your...“robe, my robe!” You unravel your robe, carefully putting the Trident aside, and searches the pockets to find the muddy letter. This will come in useful later; you make a mental note to find a sample of Maud’s handwriting.>Head to the tree>Head to the castle
>>24350140Yeah alright.I can roll with it, since I can see how the Millicent betrayal and losing her memories thing was planned out from the beginning. But I'm keeping my eye on you.
>>24350147Can we clean the letter with magic, without also getting rid of the ink?If not lets go to the tree.
>>24350147>Charles’ jaw tightens but he makes no attempt to say otherwise. We should tell him we didn't intend to use that curse on him. No apology, but make it clear it was an unfortunate accident he caused, nothing more.
>>24350147Tree.Apologize for his wand. I doubt its the crucio he's upset about: That isn't a crippling loss.
>>24350147>>Head to the tree
>>24350147Head to the tree.But where's our cat?
>>24350169>>24350174>>24350177>>24350180>>24350205>>24350215None of you are concerned with how we still haven't been told where Tara is behind held?
>>24350240Oh right, the cat.I assumed she was still in the Room of Requirement based on what OP said.If that's not the case, then yeah, where's our cat.
>>24350240I asked, but HP apparently isnt answering.
>>24350147>Charles’ jaw tightens but he makes no attempt to say otherwise. We can apologise to him later. His wand might be fixed with Reparo, but that would require him to still have the pieces.>>24350174There's a spell for that. We may not know it (yet).>"Where is my cat?"After finding out, grab Trident again with the robes and head to the tree.
>>24350240Yeah... Ask about Tara.
>>24350240Oh, yes. I almost forgot. He WILL tell us where Tara is, or else.
“I want you to know that it wasn’t my intention to use that unforgivable curse on you” you tell him. He cocks his head to the side, his face subtly contorting in a way that shows a new appraisal of you. “OH YEAH” you say, remembering something of vital importance. “WHERE IN MERLIN’S NAME IS MY TARA?!”“The cat?”“YES”“Oh, we put it in a broom cuppard across the hall”“YOU WHAT!”You manage to calm yourself enough to realise that things could have been a lot worse considering the way of things. You make getting Tara back your second or third objective. You bundle the Trident up in your robes again and head off. When you arrive at the tree you find everyone sitting around Robert who sits on the root with the scroll in his hands. >You found it!>Can I have it, please>We better get to the castle>Does it say anything?>other
>>24350366Does it say anything?Ask Maud how she's doing as well, might have been a mistake to let her go without keeping an eye on her.
>>24350366>You found it!>other"Did you also find the potion?"Also, I suppose it's true that we didn't intend to use an Unforgivable Curse on Charles; we only intended to use Petrificus Totalus and then kick him in the ribs.
Rolled 30>>24350366>“Oh, we put it in a broom cuppard across the hall”Why?
>>24350366>He cocks his head to the side, his face subtly contorting in a way that shows a new appraisal of you.Seems like we just gave him an idea what our talent might be. Let's just hope he's not a complete dick.
>>24350524Well, we need a new rival now that Maud's lost that status.Wait, I think we already had a second rival or something at character creation.
>>24350520I second asking him why
I'm going to stop a tad early tonight. See you guys next time.
>>24350553>we already had a second rival or something at character creation.Yes. We rolled up a Bitter Enemy. Someone who'll actively go after us with the intent to kill.>>24350582See you next time.
Hopefully the Maud thing makes a little more sense.
Wanna give Nathaniel a wand and see if he can cast spells in mannequin form?Like he said his spirit is rejecting his body like a foot rejects a shoe, but people wear shoes all time.So so far it seems like a ghost will just get tired of the mannequin after twelve or so hours. And it's currently unknown whether they'll never want to use it again.
>>24350601A little.A couple things confused me, like would Nathaniel really have turned Maud away if she came alone because she wasn't a first year? But the rest has either been cleared up, or I have faith that they will be cleared up in the future.
>>24350591...Wow.Well I guess we have that to look forward to.

Godspeed, HPQuest
>>24350705The Trident is designed to be wielded by Pureblood Slytherins that Salazar considers worthy to steal the knowledge and memories of other people.Maud was tested to see if she was worthy by Salazar with the Ultimatum of either mind-raping her sister like or losing her own memories. She chose to lose her own memories.
>>24350705Apparently the Trident only took all Maud's memories of her personal life, and left knowledge of spells etc.Still kind of suspect that she erased her own memories because that was the only way she could see to be the sister she couldn't let herself be.
>>24350520hahahha that picture that filename
>>24350582thanks for running it cya HPQ
>>24350601i trusted you to make it good.
>>24350652Ah, correction to the Enemy trait."You have pissed someone off. Your presence drives them to rage and plots ofmaking your life suck. How did this happen? Are they in a feud with your family? Do theythink that you do not deserve the luck you have been having? Whatever the reason, theyhate your guts and will constantly go out of their way to make your life and the lives of yourfriends a nightmare."So they may not actively try to kill us, but they'll likely come close if they think they can get away with it.
>>24350582Sleep well. You've earned it.
>>24350825...Are we sure Maud wasn't our Enemy after all?Because she went past the point of crazy.
>>24350757HA HA! Now my revenge against Millicent is complete!>That's cool, but you're going to have to eat her memories.WHAT!?>Or I eat your memories. I'm eating SOMEONES memories tonight, dammit
>>24350825...actually, that sounds like Maud. So, who's our rival? Joel?
>>24350845>>24350858Here's the description for Spiteful Rival:You have a rival who is spiteful and will go out of their way to show you up.Your success stings when they hear about it, and being even just is not enough for them. They will strive to outdo you, even going as far as making trouble for you and making youlook like a goof. The Enemy wouldn't have hesitated in eating our memories.
>>24350856It seems like while she couldn't stop hating us, somewhere along the road she also started caring about us.Like when that boss golem appeared, she was genuinely concerned.Poor insane sister.
>>24350887I don't know, the fact that she was able to pretend to be on our side for a long time, while secretly brimming with resentment and ill-will still sounds more like an enemy.
>>24350908Honestly she could be either or; enemy makes sense because I can think of ways we've pissed her off but it's possible that the enemy is someone from our past we haven't met yet. Our Enemy maybe even be our Voldemort.
>>24350887I see what you mean, but what she did went far beyond "outdoing us" and "making us look like a goof." She made our school year a living hell.On the other hand, she didn't eat our memories.So...horrible Rival, or reformed Enemy?
>>24350705You're too right that I'm getting paranoid about you.
>>24350908>>24350923Either way, we know that there's still one more person out there gunning for us, aside from plot arc bosses.
>>24350942Right now I hope she stays neither.Having her as an antagonist is emotionally exhausting to say the least.
>>24350984Without a doubt. Luckily, I'm pretty sure that our conflict with her has passed.
so who is super stoked for next thread!?
>>24350893Here's my interpretation. She blocked our letters, which led us to not following our parents instructions, which led to them getting pissed off enough to not show up when we were hurt and disowning us after the unforgivable curse.Maud knew of their intentions to disown since the incident with Bergle and was actually trying to set up a way for us to live together, since it partially her fault that we were being disowned and she was trying to take responsibility. The letter this morning was real. But she was still pissed off at us enough to lord it over heads when we discovered her ploy.
>>24350945As if you needed further proof that paranoia is always right. As for Maud, I'd say she was an enemy, but after the mem-wipe she could be a reformed rival or even a friend.Maybe we can pickup some other hindrances for next year
>>24350705Maud had a vision of magic-hitler, and he told her to either suck our memories (knowledge) away from us or the trident will suck out her own. She decided to do the latter rather than the former. Good older sis', mang.
>>24351046>As if you needed further proof that paranoia is always right. You're so right about that.
>>24351038>We see the letters Maud blocked>Turns out they're even harsher than the ones we sawLike "Stop associating with people of such low breeding"
>>24351059Though why the Trident apparently let her keep her technical knowledge I don't get....Still, lucky break for us.
>>24351038Sounds plausible. I just wonder what the whole cousins visiting during break was about. Family politics that involve us perhaps?
>>24351137we'll know when it comes to bite us. We'll probably have to defend Maud in front of our parents, defend ourselves and all of that jazz.It could be made easier by the fact htat "oh mom and dad I'm so sorry and oh but what's this in my pocket it looks like the MOTHERFUCKING SECRET TRIDENT OF MOTHERFUCKIN SALAZAR COCKFUCKER SLYTHERIN THAT IF OUND and by the way you are both dicks"
>>24351214"that I found". I'm still asleep.
>>24351129Maybe it'll become a uh... what was that trope called? Something-gun? Like, it isn't visible clear that it'll be use in the present, but it will, like, save the day in the future.
>>24351214Defending Maud is relatively easy.Seeing as Bergle apparently was nuts for keeping people away from the Trident, we can just say that he made Maud make Pester block the letters, and cast some kind of spell or whatever that made Maud not take it back after Bergle died.Because who can prove us wrong?
So, is Charles now respecting us now and not out right fearing us? Would be nice for once not to be feared.
>>24351242Thank you, bro.
I suspect Maud has a Jason Bourne type amnesia. You remember all your skills, like you can play chess if you already know how, but remembering personal details is impossible.
>>24351251Actually, knowing that we didn't mean to cast it probably only means he fears us less; I'm not seeing any respect. This will probably just make him more ballsy.
>>24351230I don't think that's right, because it's very VERY useful right now.Like remembering how to cast magic means that hopefully she won't be kicked out of Hogwarts or permanently sent to St. Mungo's and thus won't be completely dependent on us, which is something I don't think any of us are ready to handle. If anything it's the opposite of that, where it'll seem really fortunate but bite our ass in the future.
>>24351275Hopefully she'll be able to make new memories in the future.Like the crystal ball indicates that she might permanently be forgetful, but I really hope it's not to the point of Alzheimer's which, again, I do not have faith in our ability to handle with the weight it would deserve.
>>24351259No problem. Here have some short stories(which he revolutionized the concept of) from the man himself.http://www.ibiblio.org/eldritch/ac/jr/index.htm
>>24351246What, and lie? Preposterous!>>24351251> tortured him on a whim> dragged in a golem infested cave> prohibited him from running away> destroyed a golem in front of him trhough the radiant power of friendship (possibly also Pelor)> told him he's gonna die if he speak of what's happened> "ah, btw, I didn't mean to curse you in the first place"> subtext: "it's just that i curse people all the time, lol, kinda forgot"yeah we're pretty much boss now
>>24351289Knowing that we instinctively cast unforgivable at people will make him fear us *less*?I think he'll be terrified of our power, but not as terrified of Millie as an individual: He knows we can wreck him, but doesn't think we'll do it just for the hell of it.
>>24351368Survived an attack from a professor. Gotta have that on the list.
>>24351466remember that it was a nat 100, anything less and we would have just fucked up someway else,.
>>24351514I wonder what our Wild Magic would do if we Nat 1'd.
>>24351514Bucked up our break and time with Olivia and prehaps doing girl stuff.
>>24351550I don't think the break has passed, I think it just messed up our ability to plan and set up the break with Olivia.
>>24351550It resembles real life in that way, plans are made then go out the window at the drop of a hat. >>24351528A nat 1 would've likely led to verbal humiliation. Like a rap off or something.
>>24351275You'd think that that's literally the opposite of what the trident would normally do.
>>24351690It was just punishing her for not measuring up to Salazar's standards, not doing it's intended purpose. Or at least that's what I'm going with. It also could have been something like a "muscle memory" kind of deal. Like she knows how to cast spells but if you asked her "what does Lumos do and why?" she'd draw a complete blank.
I'm looking forward to year two, what's everyone waiting for?
>>24352010New living arrangements, hanging out with Olivia, Wild Magic lessons, mischief and adventure.
>>24352010i cant wait for some chill times. we have a lot of up and not alot of down. Hanging with olivia is gonna be legit i want to see how HPQ deals with explaining the stuff not covered in the books like a normal wizards home and other parts of hogwarts.
>>24352010Learning about the muggle world with Olivia (still hoping to bring Maud with us)Making sure the future we saw in that crystal ball comes trueDoing more divination in general (but as long as it remains vague foreshadowing)
>>24352010well we have to wrap up this year first, and that's plenty space for TWEEEEEESTS.I wan to go on a summer of Adventure Lawyering, but I'll be content if it's done by some random dicerollan.i want to go on on our second year, and proceed with out hitlist.
>>24352418i wonder what its gonna be like to read about witches doing shit outside of hogwarts HPQ has gonna break that ground with some adventure lawyering. How will we get shit done with out using magic?
>>24353259Considering we likely won't be going home we might end up staying at Olivia's for a bit since I can't see who else we could turn.I can't wait to see Millie try to figure out a computer
>>24353306we don't know that we wont be going home for sure yet. we just know at some point we will be staying in the leaky cauldren.
>>24353259> implying we won't use magic exploring ancient tombs or some stuff like thatOn that note, someone puts on the mid-term objectives "learn obliviate spells to pacify muggles"
>>24353793it is illegal to use magic outside of hogwarts before your 7th year
>>24353923that is one fine argument. I stand defeated. What if we Lawyer our way into becoming emancipated, thus superseding the trace? Also, we know that in a wizard dwelling the trace cannot distinguish between adults and minors, so we could just be always "around an adult" (Maud) and still cast TERRIBLE MAGICKS.Or we could use some fangled muggle contramption, but i dunno..
>>24353961seeing as any magic use while the trace is active results in expulsion followed by a hearing to see if you can be un-expelled i don't think we should risk it. really the point of the no underaged magic is to make sure you are mature enough to not get caught or fucking kill everyone by accident. so there are legit reasons for us not to fuck the police.its all about the bullwhip hat and pistol
>>24354016Oh god I'm so happy that rule is in place.
>>24354026What're everyone's surnames, or has Millie by some miracle managed to avoid learning them even when teachers probably use them during classes? I MUST KNOW BECAUSE OF REASONS.Also I hope we're getting some birthday fun in the future. How far along are we in the school year, anyhow? October or November? Talk about an intensive beginning.
>>24354106Millicent Fauxly, Robert Huxley, Olivia Borchard, Nigel Greenwater, Sam Stableton, Harriet Dorothy Rainsworth, Charles MouglishMissing any?
>>24354151Fuck Joel, did I give him a surname? I think it might be in the archives.
>>24354158Nah, you haven't. The only people with last names are Millie and Joel.
>>24354190I'm a terrible Quest runner but I can't remember Joel's surname.
>>24354190Fuck, I meant Robert, not Joel.Goddamnit Joel.
>>24354213Joel Parish I think it was, but I can't be sure, that's what it is if it isn't anything else. Also, talk to me people!
>>24354016i propose investing our last galleons in an hat and a whip. The whip must be modified to permit the handle to contain our wand.
>>24354226I'm currently plotting all seven year story arcs so if there's anything vital you want to see in the story now is a good time to say.
>>24354241hrrm. It would be boss for you to introduce the subject skipped over in canon. I'm not totally on board with the whole quidditch thing, but I'm not totally against it either. It would be cool to see more of Soup. someone already said it in another thread, but having other school partecipate in a possible triwiz tournament would be nice - on that point, yay triwiz tournament.Maybe some field trips? Shits gets whaky at the hot springs, yo.i really think you should base a teacher on Charles Dance.
>>24354277the subjectS. Arhitmancy, Ancient Runes, etc. I'm sorry today i can't type.
>>24354235haha if this was a less serious quest then i would be down for that. >>24354241my advice/request is this Do what you are doing now but slow it down space everything out more. we can wait a little while for main story plot points. give us more slice of life at hogwarts stuff and give us some time to free roam. We all want to learn new stuff about the HPQ universe. With hogwarts castle you can literally show us anything you want just by having take a wrong turn in the castle. I'd really like to see some stuff inbetween the school years at the beginning and end of each book as well as breaks. stick with is an ignore the haters you have a fanbase that wont leave you that is big enough to warrant continuation no matter how many faggots say they are dropping it. If we want to ride this thing for 7 years (i figured that at our current pace its gonna take over two years to finish) we can't make a habit of derailing threads.anon and the trips need to trust in you to move the story and not bitch every time a plot twist shows up. If we start freaking out it should be your policy to just keep trucking. You are running one of the best quests i've been in and I look forward to it every day. Also dawg you don't need to run them every single day we would understand and support you taking time off when ever you need or want to. Right now you are a fricken machine, most quests of this quality are once a week. Basically keep up the good work. quidditchmaybe dueling club or somethingmore characters with diverse personalitymore in depth exploration of the main characters hidden references are niceand damn it man let me love olivia!
>>24354277charles dance in what movie?Charles dance for Practical defensea 7th year class supplemental DADA that teaches the actual use of spells to defend yourself.
>>24354316I have pretty bad insomnia which has resulted in long nights and mornings filled with questing. I appreciate your advice and will take it on board, though I'll definitely think things through a bit more and have less tweeests and just more cool shit happening. I think my run with year one is almost up though, I'll do a bit of slice of life stuff but I'm really looking forward to the fresh start of year two, which I see as the real beginning now we know who are characters are.
>>24354316>Do what you are doing now but slow it down space everything out more. we can wait a little while for main story plot points. give us more slice of life at hogwarts stuff and give us some time to free roam. We all want to learn new stuff about the HPQ universe. With hogwarts castle you can literally show us anything you want just by having take a wrong turn in the castle. I'd really like to see some stuff inbetween the school years at the beginning and end of each book as well as breaks.I agree with this most of all. I think this problem will be sorted out once the first year is done with, though. I'm interested to see how we'll end up spending the summer.Got my tablet to work again, working on Indiana Millie.
>>24354277>other schoolssalem would be dope if involved in someway because its canon. >being in the triwizdo we really want to be that main character?im fine with doing it tho>hot springsawww shit we do need to go to hogsmead and not get kicked out,
>>24354346>which I see as the real beginning now we know who are characters are.think of it this way, you are writing a book on the spot. Not many authors could do that and not have a shaky start.
>>24354354>working on Indiana Millie.thank you based doodlefag.what is it with tablets, i have never met or talked to anyone who hadn't had a problem with theirs at somepoint. mine is fucked beyond all repair... and i suck at using it.
>>24354316oh yes, you're right, especially:> give us more slice of life at hogwarts stuff and give us some time to free roam. We all want to learn new stuff about the HPQ universe. With hogwarts castle you can literally show us anything you want just by having take a wrong turn in the castle. I'd really like to see some stuff inbetween the school years at the beginning and end of each book as well as breaks. This doesn't necessearly mean living day by day, but maybe have a big overarching plot (like you did for this year) and then many small one/completely unrelated objectives. I think the rule of thumb here should be "at some point you'll have to decide what you need to do and put something on the backseat". Like how we knew harry was overwhelmed by homework, DA meetings, quidditch, and still people griefed him for not being able to beat voldemort by sneezing.>>24354337Charles Dance as himself. Charles Dance as Vetinari. He would be so cool as headmaster, but Black Dynamite seems extremely on the cool side, what with his two teacher buddies.>>24354356We can send joel on. I mean, if you where the headmaster you'd choose the genius kid over the little girl with the demons of the nether inside.>>24354375Tablets are evil. My girlfriend works as an illustrator and hates them. then she bought a Cintiq. she drools now.
>>24354396Yeah it got to a point where I couldn't see the forest past the trees.
>>24354416at least you didn't go innawoods with out an sksMETAPHORS.JPG
another humble request: please put Millicent in the subject or every first post even on continuations threads so the filters work. its a lot easier to have it pinned to the top.
>>24354452ALSO! You should change the introductory text every once in a while. After 40 thread i think you can safely assume that anon knows what's going on. Maybe have a single intro post, followed by a "Previously in Hogwarts" with a point-list of what happened ("Obtained Crystal Ball. Killed Headmaster. Met House Elf (free).").then again, I guess what you're doing with repeating the last post works too. oh! maybe you should add in the incipit what kind of roll mechanic you use. I know it's 1d100, the lower the better, But I have no idea how you choose what roll to take (first, first three, dubs, trips, quads, quintets). Also, I know someone has all the drawings done for millicent; can It be uploaded somewher plez
>>24354504>the intro texti think it was neccessary because people were arguing about who millicent was and how to play her>the rolls1d100 lower the better , first post counts. HPQ usually sets thresholds for pass fail.>drawingsI have them, but they are all on the suptg archive. I guess its to much work to go through them so let me upload them somewhere and post it in the next thread. ill go through and make sure i get them all. but from now on just save them in to a folder man.
>>24354536You are a god amongst men. My problem is that I sometime can follow the threads at home, bust mostly during glorious night shift at work. So I can't save shit on the work pc, because of (obvious) reasons.
>>24354563ah i see, atleast you job is chill enough to browse 4chan.
>>24354570it is on nights :) honestly if I hadn't free access to the internet i would probably have died long ago.
>drawingsIf you search 'millicent fauxly' on tumblr you should be able to find all of my crap easily.
>>24354684Many thanks. Now do Magical Lawyer Millicent!
>>24354716She's like a barbie doll.
>>24354684checked out the tumblr. Showed my mum the artwork, she couldn't believe the likeness one of the characters I'm based on!
>>24354716I put it on my to-do list.>>24354745>mfwIT'S PROFESSOR TRIB INNIT
>>24354764Jokes aside though, it's nice to know I've been able to make a recognisable resemblance to reality based on vague descriptions alone.
