Rolled 94Welcome to Millicent Fauxly Quest.>Before Millicent arrived at Hogwarts she was a prized daughter in a pureblood wizarding family. >Hogwarts has changed Millicent in ways she didn’t expect. She thought she was going to be a Slytherin like her bitter rival (who has become a friend) and older sister, Maud. Instead she was placed in Ravenclaw house, something which has disgraced Millicent and her family in their pureblood social circles. >The best easiest way to roleplay Millicent is ‘Raven’ from Teen Titans, this was purely by the actions of those in the quest (and a happy one at that). >Millicent likes to be left alone to her own devices, she has a competitive streak but also a yearning for the contact and approval of others despite what she may tell herself. She likes to be centre of attention when she has earned it through being the best at something, not out of fame or through an embarrassing incident. Major Character Traits:>Millicent seeks approval from her father above most things>She has a fear of large bodies of water>She is best friends and can tell Olivia anythingNew comers are more than welcome. Rolled 64>>24189163IM HERE FIRST.
Rolled 75Rolled 13Despite your run in and almost death whilst riding a broom in Bergle’s lesson, which you have come to believe was the cause of his tampering, you have decided, as of right now on the spot, to join the Ravenclaw team for the new term. “I think I might join too” you say as you idly hold Tara’s paws as she plays with you. “Great” says Harriet “I figured cheerleading was a little dull compared to actually taking part, I look forward to besting you” she says in a tongue-in-cheek manner. After another ten minutes of chatting with your friends you stand and let the others know that you’re going for a walk. You wander off with Tara on your shoulder before she jumps off in hopes of catching an enchanted paper bird Joel as cast for her. You watch Tara dip and dive as she tries to claw it, you take out your own wand and keep it afloat as you cross the castle grounds to the tree. You can see Robert sitting alone by the tree with a book in his hands. He’s looking out into the lake as he eats a biscuit. You stand motionless and watch the ripple of the lake which reflects the sun like glass, causing the forbidden forest to be flipped upside from the right perspective. When you’re close by Robert looks up from his book he’s writing in and gives a haphazard smile. “Hey, Millicent” he says “You look well”>I got your note>Thank you>What you up to?>other

Rolled 80“I got your note, thanks for that” You say, sitting on a root beside him. Robert closes his book and puts away his feather pen which magically dives into his schoolbag. “It’s great to see you’re doing okay” he says looking to your and smiling. A comfortable silence follows as you watch the lake and consider what must lie at the bottom of its depths; Murpeople most likely. “Does Slytherin know about what happened in the Headmaster’s study?” you say. “Everyone does, Millicent” he says as Tara hops onto his lap, sniffing and pawing at his robes. “I’m afraid to see you’re becoming a bit of an enigma at the school what with the whole deal with your parents and professor Bergle”>What should I do?>How do people even know about my family troubles? Tara playfully jumps on it and the two skitter after one another along the bank of the lake and around the tree. “I guess its just gossip” says Robert “Though I’m sure it has a source. Question to OP:Does the tri-wizard tournament exist in this version of the universe or has it been shut down? If it was to take place next year we would be able to take part in the one after it in our seventh year... pipe dreams. Granted if they dont have the age restriction we could toss our name in in any year...Would Millie even -want- to take part in a triwizard tourney? On a more related note, can we swing past the point tracking hour glasses sometime? Would be cool to know how the inter-house cup is going.

>>24189959Then how could we possible fail?
Rolled 16You think back to saying goodbye to your father at platform nine and three quarters, back when Elise was tucked beneath your arm as your soul companion. The last time you saw your father there was a glean in his eye, a look that told you he believed in you and after his little speech that he knew you could continue the greatness of the Fauxly name. His loving smile, his smell of shoe polish and the prickle of his neatly trimmed beard captured in your mind like many of the moving portraits in the castle. That was the last time you saw him in person. You’ve yet to see the disappointment and shame in his eyes that you’ll be seeing someday soon. “I received a letter from my parents by owl telling me to not contact them whilst at Hogwarts, so I haven’t””They didn’t even visit you in the medical wing?”“That’s right”“Then they don’t have the right to call themselves your parents”You feel its best to change the subject to something a little lighter. “How have you been?”“Huh?” says Robert with a wry grin “First time you’ve asked that”You say nothing as mixed feelings fill you. “Well I’m doing pretty good in class, my parents are telling me its best I stay at Hogwarts for the term break, and I’ve started writing a book”>Why do they want you to stay?>You’re writing a book?>other
>>24189959With Joel at our side we can't.
>>24189959Previous tournaments were open to all ages. An age restriction of 17+ was put into place during the tourny in the novel due to deaths of champions. The goblet didn't judge by age which is how Harry ended up in the tournament. Depending on how OP is formulating his universe there would either have to be a tournament in our second year for us to be old enough to take part in the one in our seventh, since they are held every 5 years, or if there was no age restriction we could take part in one any year. Granted, if we put our name in in our third year we probably wouldnt get picked...

Rolled 33“You’re writing a book?” you say, intrigued. For the first time you can see Robert getting a little bashful. “Well, it isn’t much right now but I’m working on a book about my own ambitions” he says “It’s a little complicated, I’m researching and looking for unusual magical artefacts, why they exist, how they come to be, and how to properly use them”“So you’re like a treasure hunter?”“Pretty much”“Found anything interesting?”“Not yet, but I’m reading up on just about everything related to the field and seeing if I can form my own theories on where lost artifacts may be dwelling”>What makes you want to look for magical artefacts?>What research have you done?>Are there many magical artefacts still lost? >other

Rolled 10You think of the Trident. “….have you done much research on lost artefacts at Hogwarts?”Robert turns and positively beams with excitement. You can tell he doesn’t get to talk about his passion all that much with others. “Well there’s the Amulet of Helga Hufflepuff which was found by Arthur Macy a hundred or so years ago…” he begins, counting them off with his fingers. “…then there’s the sword of Godric Gryiffindor which is held in gringotts bank, there was rumours that Salazar had built a Chamber in the castle but that was debunked, and…and…damn I’m forgetting something”>The Trident>I’m sure you’ll think of it soon>other

>>24190428>>24190484>>24190509BFQ has an interesting setting, good writing, and one of the best "Actions Have Consequences" with a lot of player freedom of action.Of course, that leads to the problems of attempting to get consensus, and player in-fighting when consequences come back to bite the PC for stupid or ill-conceived actions. Aside from its ERP roots, it's an example of the pitfalls of implementing "full player freedom" with "actions have consequences".

Rolled 8There is an awkward beat as you stand and nod, consider going in for a hug and then promptly turn on your heels and walk away. You can hear Robert whistling casually to himself as he goes one way and you another. Tara hops onto your shoulder, gives a mew, and licks your cheek. You return to your friends and finish the picnic with them, when the bell rings and you head off to Defence Against the Dark arts with Professor Olivier. The lesson is pretty dull which is only spiced up at the end with a frankly embarrassing dance number by the students who had committed themselves into the play. However you do find a certain entertainment in watching Olivia happily dancing at the back with the puppet as a groovy blues number plays from the record player at the back of the class. Lesson over you head back to your dorm as you feel dozens of eyes burning into the back of your skull. You catch students of all houses whispering and following you down hallways until you manage to lose them at the changing stairs. It's a power struggle, and we are beleiving her lies. She may have planted the young slytherin Robert to distract us from our objective - after all, most slytherin are close. Rolled 40“Want an autograph?” you say as you and your friends stop by the door. “Lets talk in private” says Maud, putting a comforting arm round your shoulder as you wave a ‘see-ya-in-abit’ gesture to your friends. Maud leads you down the changing stairs, noticing the looks that the students are giving you, and then turns down a dimly lit corridor with scary gothic statues. She sits on a bench with you beneath a torch and says. “You really are quite the celebrity round here” she says “Though whether you’re infamous is yet to be seen”Maud asks you about Bergle and the whole affair and you give her the run down you gave Trib instead of the real version of events. She listens intently and rubs your back as you go through the ghastly details. “That’s terrible” she says, giving you a hug “Oh Millie you must be more careful”You almost forgot about your suspicions toward your sister as to whether she is really a contestant. You want to talk to her about it, you trust her, but the fact she hasn’t told you first stops you. There’s always a chance, however unlikely, she is playing you for a dopey little sister. “Mum and Dad got in contact again” she says “I have to go back for the term break and…” she goes quiet, knowing how much this is effecting you “…they don’t want you to come back just yet. I don’t think they’re ready”>That’s fine. I was going to stay with my friend anyway. >I’m really past caring. As long as we stick together Mum and Dad can take a hike. >You don’t want to stay? staying back is fine, but we shouldn't tell her we wanted to stay back anyway because we have stuff to do. We can say that we are behind with our studies, what with one bergle and another.she propably has made the connection that we're in the contest; the fact that she's willing to take a break from school shows that she's certain we won't be able to attain anything. >>24192067I'd say she definitely knows, or she's a complete idiot. We came as close as we could to telling her without actually spitting it out. Check this quote:> "I'm doing it for an extra curricular project" you say, detailing how the intended effect is to trap ghosts and other spirits inside.>"Sounds like a random spell to be using" Maud says, furrowing her brown and chewing her tongue "but hey, that's Hogwarts for you.">>24192118Once again, I'm for outright asking her if it's about making Nathaniel a body. >>24192118>other"Wait, you're...do you know a ghost named Nathaniel?"Thinking on it, if Maud became a Friendly Rival, taking away the Trident that she's worked years to get may make her into a Spiteful Rival again. Better to tell her and cooperate and share the glory than take it from her.

So it seems that most now favor revealing ourselves to Maud and trying for a Fauxley victory, for the following reasons:1. Don't want Maud to slip back to Spiteful from Friendly Rival2. Efficiency in getting the Trident3. More interesting/drama-filled choiceI would also say that it ensures that if there is still another person out there going for the Trident (Trib, that squib thief) we will have additional backup.

>>24193922ok, I'm gonna have to call it quits for tonight, I probably shouldn't have stayed up to 2:30 anyway... Thanks for the quest man, keep up the good work!
>>24193944Have a good one, paranoid-bro!
Rolled 1>>24193944You know I think I'll call it a day too. Better that or the writing will suffer.
>>24193922And this calls for a very much needed restroom break.
>>24193965Well, see you until next time then. lol
>>24193715Nigel's a Slytherin right?Because I still want to interrogate the fuck out of that portrait. What has Maud been doing that would cause that dude to worry about her?
>>24193958I'm paranoid bro and I'm here for another 4 and a half hours. Or until next thread, that's fine too.
>>24193965Alrighty then, later hpQuest, sleep properly k?
>>24192926>>24193371>>24193640So, it really does look like we're getting motherfucking disowned.
>>24193992How am I sure that you are paranoid bro? ...I'm on to you!
>>24194007Disowned?I think we'd be lucky if that's all we're being.Like we might not know just how much power a freed house elf has, but Pester certainly does. For her to send Soup to protect us... I fear our troubles are just beginning.
>>24194016maybe we all are. Next time I'll trip for our convenience. Even if this is not a secure channel.
>>24193986No, Nigel is a Ravenclaw like us.
So unless Maud is secretly Loki, god of lies, it seems unlikely that she really is involved with the Trident after all.That... really complicates things.
>>24194069Damn. We missed the chance to ask Robert to give us his robes.
Well, I'm not gonna lie but I feel uneasy now that Maud knows what's up. Funny how she's relieve to hear of the trident, despite the fact that we don't have it yet.
>>24193965>wake up>blow nothing but blood out of nose>get one computer>Open HPQuest>its over >nothing but blood
This just hit me late, as usual, but who the fuck is the Slytherin contestant?
>>24195618Let's choke it out of Nathaniel.
>>24195436Sorry to hear about that, man. Sounds like the start of a crappy day.
>>24195643How do I choke a ghost?
>>24195679Guess we'll have to do some research first. If we offer professor Trib the chance to get her hands around his neck as well, she might even help.
>>24195679make him a bitching body then throttle it or like fenton ghost gloves
