The parade began, as all parades do, with a bellowing of trumpets and horns, every loudspeaker set up in the last four hours thundering triumphantly as your men assembled in their battle dress. The feudal peasants, standing in large crowds to the edges of the street, stared in awe and no small amount of fear as your vehicles rolled past them. Your mighty tank in particular drew awe, and several reached out to try and touch it, only to be held back by the soldiers standing at attention, holding the crowd in order.Your ring translates their words of awe, which serve to inflate your ego. You are Oberst Hans Landa, civil engineer and Oberst of the Third Reich, sent forth by means of a magical gate into a land of magic and monsters. A land of apparent fantasy, but the violence and depravity of which has assured you it is very, very real. You stand now atop your command vehicle, the armored truck rolling along in the extensive convoy towards the front gate of the keep, where Knight Commander Beregen stands with several of his fellow paladins. Paladins of the various gods, apparently, at least according to Siegfried. The nobles and aristocracy stand off to the side, surrounded by two squads of your men, the soldiers standing vigil over the various merchants and aristocrats that now stand silent, not daring to murmur as your exotic melody sweeps across the city with near-deafening power. The banners of the Reich flutter freely, the flags flowing in the breeze as the skies overhead begin to show the first signs of impending snowfall. Your men have discovered a number of tailors and similar clothing stockpiles that could be improvised into winter gear, albeit mismatching winter gear. The clothing looks almost Russian in nature, but that's hardly an immediate concern. For you have arrived at the quickly erected stage, your officer's sword in hand as one of the men, equipped with your third translation ring, speaks into the microphone.
Find the Magi Arthur and bite him, bite him to death.
>>23997552>Please pardon outdated image due to LAPTOP OBERST"And this, new citizens of the Reich, is the exchanging of swords." He states, "Signifying the mutual bond of arms our people shall share in!" His voice booms across the gathered crowds, thousands of people staring at you as you draw your sword, presenting it hilt-first to Knight Commander Beregen. The man returns the gesture with his own mithril sword. You both clasp the other's sword in one smooth gesture, the man's sword, while much less elegant, almost as light as a feather. And just like that, to the applause of your men (and stares of the crowd), the ceremony is complete.Leaving you simply to ascend the keep, and take a seat within the throne therein. As you return swords, the nobles and merchants seem more restless than ever with each step you take towards the keep. Gunther is currently on a break, enjoying some fine wine liberated from the keep's cellar, but is keeping an eye on both you and the nobles, his men presenting a solid protective detail between the two.Redding will soon be entirely under your thumb. However, as you approach the keep's entrance, you see Siegfried emerge from the tower, a rather awed look on his face. "Oberst!" He manages to hiss, as your procession continues to the heavy wooden front doors."A machine-- a massive machine! I've found details to it within the laboratory the former Magi were based out of." He murmurs, speaking in hurried tones. "Something massive-- something grand. Incomplete, but grand indeed, sir."Gunther speaks up as well, "Some of the locals are going to want to talk to you soon, sir. After you take that throne, of course." He adds, shooting a glare back at the crowd of nobles and merchants barely contained out in front of the gates.

>>23997584The machine clearly needs our immediate attention. SHINY THING!!!!The petitioners should be seen in the order that they arrived in. Notably, NOT in order of rank. Efficiency will be rewarded. Let's Vetinari this up a little and let them sweat for a few minutes.
>>23997626Yeah it's on suptg.
All right, in this order - speak with Sigfried, then with nobles, then with merchants/artisans. Finally with the Knight Commander, on where he and his paladins stand. I mean we know about the Town Watch - but not about them
>>23997643I sort of agree, allow them to organize themselves. Simply allow them to send forth themselves in whatever order they prefer. Will probably be quicker, and without messing to many egomaniac feathers up.I do agree with your point on the shiny machine. Dispatch engineers to check it out, with Siegfried ofcourse.
>>23997643The machine is not going anywhere, lets have a word with the nobles/merchants to get a hold on the political situation, we should look for collaborators. Then we will turn our full attention to the Wündermaschine!
>>23997720Again, let them sweat for a few minutes - THEY see us at OUR convenience. And there's a shiny thing! One thing that is important is making sure we stay on Gunther's good side: the man is an irreplaceable asset and his squad DID have to slog through shit. If any nobles proved less than cooperative and had to be put down, which is the case, they should at least get some spoils.
>>23997584the machine is nice, but first we need to firmly establish control in the region, they may be plotting against us as we speak
>>23997775Oh, so if we ask them immediately "Are you plotting against us by any chance?" They will say anything except No sir, not at all. They can wait a bit.
>>23997792no they can't.put the gestapo and einsatzgruppen to work (if we can)
>>23997757We had our 150 kg killing machine break into their dwellings, rounding them up and listen to some strange foreign music, while seeing somebody in strange clothes take over the city they live in.I think they have a good idea about who´s in charge.
>>23997841Well, changes in management tended to leave the nobility and city fathers alone. We need to make sure that this isn't just "You pay taxes to Lord Hitler instead of Lord Fancypants now, other than that business as usual"
>>23997757>spoilsGive them medals, soldiers will fight long and hard for a bit of ribbon. But anyway we need to increase our resource production, the Reich needs rare-metals, iron, oil, food and valuables to trade.
>>23997915Sending back some magic items and some mithril is paramount. HQ will wet their pants if that stuff is any good back home. If not, we should call this an oil operation.Actually, one thing to do would be grabbing a random peasant and chucking them across the Gate.
>>23997894Perhaps starting a school would be nice, the children of the land could be of more use when indoctrinated and further trained to be a skilled workforce instead of using the plow
>>23997915Do we have the authority to? At the very least they should get first pick of any spoils from the nobles who resisted. The rest should be sent back up the chain of command, at the very least, it's foreign art with a completely unknown style and someone high up will appreciate it.
>>23997915We can not give him a medal for this. All he did for capturing Redding was scouting, waiting in the sewers and then rounding the nobles up. If we give him a medal for this, we will start like the commies, pic related. I believe that lauding his efforts instead is better.
>>23997974Absolutely. Just as well, there is much we do not know.At the very least, people will have to learn German as the language of technology.
>>23997626>Yes.>>23997561Magi Arthur is currently absent, and likely within his tower. If you wish to take a bite out of a magical nuisance, however, you could likely bite many, many other persons of an arcane nature first.>>23997643>>23997667>>23997711>>23997757>>23997779>>23997792>>23997801>>23997720You speak with Siegfried as you enter the Keep doors. The interior of the Keep is lavish, not as lavish as Magi Arthur's tower, but lavish enough that your feet walk across silken red carpets, the banners of the old Baron still hanging proudly. Your men will set to work in removing those soon enough.A large granite statue, depicting a man in his mid-fifties, stands proudly in the center of the keep's atrium. Stairwells spiral up around the statue, which serves as a fountain as well, the man's crown having several small holes from which the water cascades down his short-cropped head of hair. The detail on the statue is rather impeccable, and you notice a faint resemblance to the youthful looks of Baron Farnsworth. There's no plaques on the statue, however, so you move onward. The nobles are escorted in your wake as you ascend the stairs, your thoughts darting about as Siegfried speaks with you."It's some sort of machine-- I am not certain," He remarks, "It doesn't appear to be complete, but its elements are strewn across the facility in question, alongside what I believe to be incomplete blueprints. They were attempting to develop some sort of..." He gesticulates animatedly, "Guardian! A protector... But made of stone and metal. Magic. I am uncertain," He remarks, "But it seems they were close to fruition."
>>23997991And this is worth a lot. We can make sure that everyone who is able to read our blueprints is indoctrinated enough that he will hardly rebel. And without those guys, technology will fail sooner or later.
>>23998009You simply nod as you arrive to where your men told you to go ahead of time: A main hallway, secured by two portcullises that were now opened, that led directly to a massive throne. The painted tiles of the floor were a trenchgun blast of colors, and your feet squeak quietly across the immaculate tile. Servants flee into the various side rooms at your approach, the nobles and merchants getting more and more unruly as you near the wood-paneled, velvet-cushioned seat."You can't do that!" One noble calls out, "You're not of royal blood!""He's a foreigner! He can't just--""... What will it mean if he does?"You catch something out of the corner of your eye: What look to be twins of some sort, dressed in demure dress attire, something not entirely unfit for what you might see back on Earth, but clearly of a local merchant styling. A male and a female, both with brown hair and green eyes. They seem to be conversing candidly, oblivious of your soon-to-be-seating upon the throne. The merchants and nobles increase the fervor of their words, "We're next in line for the throne! How can he so blatantly trod on lines of succession?""... He'll nullify our trade agreements if he sits on the throne!"So on and so forth do they carry on, right as you sit on the verge of, well, sitting.>>23997991>>23998010>>23997974A school could be established, provided you attain sufficient mastery of the local language, or at least manage to procure more translation rings in some fashion or another.

>>23998009it's a golema jewish-born myth about a wizard building a man of clay and giving him life with magic to protect the jewish people.we should destory it, or put it in our service.and seek out the zionism in this world
>>23998043Magical golems were already discussed. This one however, is obviously on a huge scale. We will keep it.
>>23998030We can because good or bad we're the guy with the gun. However, we should ask the twins what they are going on about.>>23998043And it will protect the Reich instead.
>>23998043It would be a valuable asset, and even if golems are of jewish origin, the HQ will hardly want us to throw something this important away.
we should make it look like hitler
>>23998043A wonderful idea! We should complete this golem and have it serve the Reich! That should rustle some Jewish jimmies right proper. Also, these people don't seem to understand what being conquered is all about. Have a seat while we explain it to them? They are subjects of Das Fuhrer now.
>>23998086They are citizens of the Third Reich. This empire will last a thousand years, the Fuhrer will not. It's important to get it across that the Idea is greater than the Man.
>>23998099And by that I mean that feudalism is over. Communism is an abomination, Democracy is decadent, Fascist Meritocracy across the multiverse! (Would you like to know more?)
>>23998075Some propagandist back home will probably flavor it as "Where is your Golem now? Yours is a legend, ours is STOMPING DOWN LONDON".

>>23998156The point is that feudalism was, for the most part, about loyalty to a sovereign or to a bloodline. We want to make it clear that while nobles are welcome to keep their fancy titles on their calling cards, the worth of any new citizen of the Reich is essentially proportional to what they do for the fatherland. Once we're estabilished, we should make it clear that the lowest peasant can rise to command a brigade or a factory if they are smart and tough enough.

I will require many minds beyond my own to investigate it properly. Once the science staff arrive... though Hans appears to have ideas of his own." He adds. The twins, in the background, look towards you at your inquiry."Diplomacy." The woman remarks."Lines of succession." The man adds."Succession, or secession?" She remarks to her counterpart."Could be both." Why the fuck do people think that those twins spoke german?
When do we set up concentration camps to cleanse these lands?
Actually fuck it - sit on the damn throne.
>>23998534No real point, unless we use carefully timed mass execution to fuel the gate as shown in the battle
Is it possible to change the opinion Siegfried and Gunther, or any of the other staff, have towards you?
>>23998534When we rule it, if it's worth bothering at that point.>>23998495Just a hunch.
I think we have to sit on the throne to seal the deal. These people care a lot about these rituals and disregarding them totally will be a disservice.
>>23998573That is a deep symbolic act that in a magical world may have physical consequences. We can do that at any time, specifically, we can do that AFTER we analyze the possibility of that.
>>23998609True, but at the same time, they have to understand that this is not an ordinary change in management; this is a chance in management STRUCTURE.To ask the Knight Commander or another sage about what sitting on the throne -means-, in public, looks like weakness/ignorance; we can find out in private. And refusing a throne for a comfy chair and desk also sends a message: we're not here to rule in idleness, we're here to kick ass through hard work.

>>23998634This is something that the merchants should appreciate, too.>>23998642Exactly, we are not Lord Landa or Baron Landa or even King Landa. We are Commander Landa of the glorious Wehrmacht and by refusing to throw their lives away when faced with SUPERIOR TEUTONIC MIGHT these people have joined the Reich.Much like with the Romans (Don't forget that the Third Reich claimed Rome as the First) allies will be treated as well as enemies will be treated mercilessly and conquered peoples treated as a resource.

"We do not. So! You had best be getting used to the changes." You state, several servants hurrying out with a rather nice-looking desk. Apparently it once belong to the city's bursar. Not anymore! The lacquered oak desk, with its dedicated inkpot and numerous drawers, plus the rather comfortable high-backed cherry wood chair, are now firmly situated in front of the throne that sits empty."I am commander Landa of the glorious Wehrmacht-- and by refusing to throw away your lives when faced by our superior teutonic might, you have joined our Reich! Much like the Romans, our ancestors, allies will be treated well-- enemies, mercilessly. Those conquered shall be treated as a resource." You announce. The room is silent for a split second. It is then that the most enterprising individuals speak up, lesser nobles that see a chance for higher status when they know it."House Londo shall ally with the Reich!""House Winterhold will ally with the Reich!""The Guild of Artificers shall gladly join the Reich!"And slowly, the support trickles in. First we will determine what factions are against us, then we will see which people are against us and then search within those factions who will ally with us and jump to the occasion of taking over the factions. Also, we will subdue them economically till they relent, clearly showing that whoever allies with us will see prosperity and those who not will only decline.>>23999423Holy shit, will you shut the fuck up with your retarded fetishes, you dumb fucking shit
>>23999384thiswe just said we would be merciless.
>>23999440>This is not hearts and minds at all you two.this is just one fucker who keeps spamming this shit
>>23999422This x1000We don't need to rush things and force something small like this little dispute to get out of hand.
>>23999452Merciless to our enemies. They are not our enemies, they are surrendered. Treat them as you would want to be treated, with respect and the honors of war, and the empire will hear of our merit. It will give us a better chance at convincing other towns to surrender and diplomacy with the empire as we buy time for more weapons and resources.
Look, now while I like us being semi Cartoon Nazis - you know - goose march, turning a castle into our HQ, conducting weird nazi SUPASCIENCE and all, I don't like to see us turn into Nazi cartoon villains. No rape and other shit. Let them be, even if they stay or they leave. They are LESS dangerous than the ones who openly displayed loyalty in a matter of seconds - same people could change sides again tomorrow. Now if we can turn in time the people of conviction...our rule will be solid
>>23999348Ask them how much such thing really matters, would they follow incompetent leaders who send their children into certain death, fated to lie in a shallow mass grave as dogs. Would it be worth to sacrifice loyal servants to a cause that only views you as pawns, to be sacrificed when it is convenient? Ask them what the empire could possibly offer that would be worth to march into oblivion.Because we cannot possibly conceive anything like that, other than insanity. We ourselves would be glad to give our lives for the Reich should that moment come, but it is not something we are looking forward too, and neither would the Reich see a reason to throw away a loyal and competent asset for a lost cause.
>>23999440It leaves an example. Fill their hearts with fear, their minds with images of what happens when you try to sabotage the Reich's mission. We need to contrast the generosity with which we treat those who work with us against those who work against us.Do you want to be Americans fucking up in Iraq for years, or do you want to be Germans who occupied France in a matter of days and still managed to win a war against the rest of the world for years?
>>23999481>no rape and other shitThese are nazi ideals mate, not even cartoon ones, it's part of their code of honor. To refrain from that is the merits Nazism. If you want to rape and pillage everything in sight, then you'd be a communist.
>>23999092I said "Should we decide to secede". If in a year or five the Bolsheviks are at the gate, and we cannot unleash our might, then the Third Reich will live on in this land! And then when Sarah Palin becomes President we can invade them again.

>>23999506I don't want to throw them out. i'm simply saying those who wish to leave, leave. Those who wish to be a part of our Glorious Reich, stay.

>>23999543>>23999552Take a look at what they demand:>national loyalty>ethical fortitude>pride in the own nationThose are exactly the guys we are looking for. They are just at the wrong side. It will take a bit of work to get them to follow us, but then they will be our most loyal followers.

>>23999668Only because they considered Western Europeans more human. We're already concluding the scale of the ethnic cleansing we're going to committing on Fantasyland. We do not consider these peoples as anything close to the Aryan ideal. We are most certainly NOT Rommel.
>>23999668I think the issue is the great difference in morality. Yeah you had Nazi's like Rommel, like a chivalrous knight, and you had monsters like Josef Mengele.Which are we?
>>23999661Oh, you poor, misguided fools. You think what few forces we have is all the military might we have at our disposal? That our expansion will stop here? You haven't even seen a drop of the true might of the Reich.
Rolled 13>>23999733Closer to Rommel, but not quite there.
>>23999661I say we try and reason with them, what is the main currency in this world? We should promise them greater shares than the Empire could ever imagine. Or make an example of our SS commandos and note that they pretty much held off the baron's army without any major injuries.
>>23999712We're not talking about the Soviets, we're talking about the Nazis. If it makes you feel better, we'll make sure to tally down these women we take as official prostitutes for the Reich and keep it organized.

>>23999779Can I say really quickly how fucking creepy that shit is that you guys made?
>>23999783But they're not subhuman. If they look anything like western european, that's a definite. What do these people look like anyway?
>>23999783I don't want to lose the loyalty of the other nobles/merchants. Though, I guess political murder wasn't that uncommon in Nazi Germany.
>>23999748That would undermine our authority. We are assuming that these people had no choice other than the Empire, and made the right choice once presented with one. They refuse to switch loyalty? We can respect that: pack what of your shit you can carry and leave. Those who fought us died. Those who surrendered to us leave in shame. Those who joined us will prosper.
>>23999795I guess it's what you do when you play nazi's, get in character.
>>23999779Except noone but your idiotic ass even agreed with that, AND we're not the cackling Nazi racist ubermensch you think we are, you cumguzzling thundercunt.
>>23999767And we're still drawing up plans for ethnic cleansing. What occupation we have doesn't erase what we've decided in this thread before.
>>23999661So they just follow power? Give them the choice to leave or stay. If power is what they respect, they will join us in time.
>>23999783They're civilians. Under international law we can't execute them unless they become combatants, and even then that only works if they're fighting. The most we can do seize any war materiel they have in our territory as they leave.
>>23999814I have never seen any agreement for anything like that in any thread, so, yeah, proof or GTFO you trolling fucknozzle.
>>23999811SS Reichkommisar made this on the suggestions of multiple anon and officers.Of course, I'd expect you are probably new to this thread so your idiocy and use of swearing as an argument is excusable.
>>23999805The surrendered have no rights. If you must spare them, strip them naked, let them leave with nothing that we can use. We can use their clothes for keeping warm good soldiers, and the new loyal citizens of the reich.
>>23999661To the nobles in that order1 "That is probably correct - I shall not boast, proclaiming our superiority, but rather let action speak for itself. Empires rise and fall. However, we did not came here seeking conflict - conflict was visited upon us in the shape of the Baron's army forcing us to retaliate. Hostilities need not continue. 2. What you say is true - especially for the reasons you said. This is why I'm not having you executed, exiled or worse. You are men of with pride, belief and conviction - the ideals that we seek ourselves. 3. Risk is part of a trader's life. True, you may lose your fleet, you may lose many of your holdings, yet you may be among the first to reach a market that has never heard of your WHOLE world. Consider the gains - to be one of the privileged few, to that of being one of the many.To allI cannot force in you a change of heart. If you wish to leave this city, you are free to do so. I only ask that you speak only the truth of what has happened here and nothing more.
>>23999825We're not on Earth, and there's no Red Cross here.
>>23999834>>23999811I see only one troll, and it's the guy who insults everyone with random swear words.
>>23999661"Soon enough, we will take Swordhenge too, again proving the power of the German Reich. Keep in mind that you have not yet truly seen what powers we wield, and what progress our rule brings. How many of you died through diseases, hunger, bandids, and battles? What could you possibly reach in your lifes, if you continue to serve the Empire? In the next weeks, we will bring our glory to this town, and then you will understand that under our guidance, this world will flourish like it never did before."
>>23999834You're the kind of guy that wishes /s4s/ was real, huh?
>>23999835Uh, no, fuckface, I've been here since thread one, and I haven't seen any actual support for cackling Nazism, since every actual decision we've made has been Rommel-level in terms of reasonability and ethics. So no, ethnic cleansing is not in character.Go back to daycare, you useless troll.
>>23999661Look at the third party "You will be glad to know that Swordhedge is next on our list. Wouldn't it be glorious if the takeover would go as smoothly there as it did in Redding? No losses, no burned fleets and businesses?"To the second, "I do not seek to undermine your way of life. I already promised Herr Knight Commander Beregen that as long as the people do not violently oppose me, we will not touch the nobles, the guildhouses and the temples. Rest assured, whatever your business in this city is, it can only strive and prosper when allied with the Reich and it will be mutually beneficial alliance. Please, just see what we can offer you before you make harsh judgements."To the third. Smile more viciously right now. "The power you saw, the incredible golems you saw, the amazing weapons and disciplined soldiers you saw? An amazing sight, right? A grand, incredible army?Well.... I would like you know that what you saw is such an insignificant part of the entire Reich's might, that if my force were completely eliminated, it wouldn't even put a dent in the entire German force. Your empire might be grand, but the Reich is grander, better equipped and trained and has far more devastating weapons that you can not even dream of.Join us and you will not lose."
>>23999661Laugh. "I thought that this ring would translate things for me, yet all I hear is inchoate whining of untermenschen. Fortunately, I know what language will pierce your thick heads."Nod to Siegfried. He'll know how to make an example of them.
>>23999854Telling them that we're going to assault Swordhenge is a gross violation of operational security that we cannot afford at this point in time. We don't want to lose more soldiers because they knew we were coming.
>>23999864This is "Nazis in Fantasyland" dude. How was it NOT going to end in ethnic cleansing?
>>23999864This. I suspect these are just more sophisticated trolls compared to the idiot sage-bombers we saw in the first threads. It is obvious that these "hurr duur, rape and cleansing" kids just want to see this whole thing burn
>>23999864What fucking character? On the one side we've got Rommel and the white knights who want to spare everyone with Nazi code of honor and justiceOn the other we've got the iron hearted "rape, murder torture them all and cleanse the gene pool" guys who were also part of the Nazi thing.(and that is literally how diverse the nazi's character were, save that the distinction was east and west).
>>23999892Agreed.I'd still say that everyone has a choice.Join us and prosper.Surrender to us and survive.Fight us and die.Whether we let them go naked or with a horse and a change of clothing is just semantics, really.
>>23999661Kill them, take the womenfolk, etcetera.
>>23999892THIS. I don't want us to lose a single man more than necessary just because we decided to stroke our own eager for the sake of a few nobles.
>>23999905East and West, jews did not fare well.
>>23999893Because we're ethical, Rommel-like officers of the Heer, not a goose-stepping SS kommandant? We're going to take over this planet with the glorious army of the Reich and it's efficiency, and then the higher ups can decide what's best for the locals.
>>23999892>>23999907>>23999916It is obvious that it will be the next on our list, and openly stating our strategy is a demonstration of strength. This will also help to convince the merchant. I believe we should give them a few days to realize that our rule will bring them prosperity.
>>23999933And the higher ups say, "Good work, more lebensraum, kill them all."
>>23999916We've made it clear that the nobles won't be harmed or lose their status -- they can keep calling themseves nobles. Either way, they work for us and they'll have to prove their worth, the whole hereditary nobility thing will eventually either disappear or be an incentive for noble scions to remain worthy of the name.>>23999902I am personally neutral on this, other than humans clearly belong on top of the totem pole. But, like everything else, we do because we are obectively better and can prove it.That said, if dwarfs are the Tolkien sort, they are an example of what a German worker should be.
>>23999902We don't want to see this whole thing burn.We don't want rape.We want cleasning yes.But we want PASSIVE cleansing of the bloodlines, peaceful laws on breeding, that in the long run sheds off the parasites and ascends into the greater reich without bloodshed.>>23999933Yes, to argue about this is pointless. They'll get to it even if we don't.
>>23999876I like this
>>23999902Agreed. Alas, we can't force everyone to name fag.1 vote for letting them be. Also - the IRC group is in favour of proper behaviour as well.
>>23999661Oh, thats simple. whip out a map and a few battlefield propaganda films and explain that to call our current forces a fraction of German might is a laughable understatement. Heck we slaughter the barons forces near effortlessly while outnumbered, since then we have been heavily reinforced and we shall only grow more numerous and powerful. Were the full might of Germany directed against the empire it would be conquered or rendered a wasteland within the year. We,(gesture to the men) are merely here to explore a curiosity. Were we an army of conquest we would be half way to the capital on a road paved of shattered armies. To the merchaint, explain that if his investments in Swordhenge are so vital he should wait a month or two and rethink his stance. An empire is built by armies but it is the merchants that hold it together and Germany knows this well.
>>23999962No breaking opsec, please, we're smarter than that.
>>23999950A race of midgets? That's objectively inferior.
>>23999967We should show one big parade on some large bedsheets in a piazza at some point. And battleships. If there's something awe-inspiring to someone who has seen what a tank can do, is something that is obviously the same concept, at sea, five hundred times the size.
>>23999975They are manly as fuck, work insane hours because they WANT to, are master metalworkers and hold their drink better than most anyone.
>>23999975A race of midgets alone yes. If the dwarves were just some dirt in a hole dwellers certainly.A race of intelligent, hardworking midgets, stronger than their size, who build monoliths and forge great works and marvels of industry?Inferior by blood, but not by merit. They are honorary Aryans.
For the recalcitrant nobles, they're civilians, we can't stop them from leaving, but they should know any attempt to combat us will put them in the "enemy combatant" column and be dealt with accordingly. Should they wish to leave, per our laws of conflict, they'll be required to surrender all war materiel besides that required for immediate self-defense and any military personnel with them will become prisoners of war.In other news, I made thing for what I hope will be our force strength in the months after Swordhenge, any questions about it?
>>23999902We should put efficiency before racial politics. If it interferes with our interests, ignore it.
>>23999661Ask them to go get armored and dressed for battle, and then have a single soldier with a gun. See who wins.
>>24000001I agree. Work now, cleanup later.
Rolled 14>>24000001Real close.>>24000008I like this.
>>23999984I mean get a video of battleship of course. If we need an ironclad we can probably build one when we need it (or at least an armored barge to put a tank on).Basically, when we get propaganda material, we should recommend "Easy on the speeches, plenty of Albert Speer buildings and marching warriors".No flying things yet though, let's keep that in reserve. This gives us an irreplaceable chance of a second culture shock when they've gotten used to tanks and artillery.
>>23999997>>23999996They are basically Jews. Jews are plenty industrious, but that's not a good thing. The dwarves are a bunch of big nosed midgets that would backstab us at the quickest opportunity.
>>23999984>>24000025They could just call it an illusion on whatever we call a crystall ball.Nah, just ask them to stay for a month. By then we'll easily convince them with a better standard of livining.Show them the luxuries they can afford with their wealth, that will pacify them.
>>23999998This, those who leave, leave empty handed. However, we do not want people to say "They didn't want to kill them so they left them to the wolves", there's no loss on our part to leave them mount and blade. What are they going to do, charge at us?
>>24000025Hey, that's an awesome idea.We have the propaganda team set up a screen and a projector right in this room and show them the latest Wochenschau. This should do the trick.
>>23999938There's a difference between "they're going to attack this city" and "if they are going to continue their conquest, this city will be next". If the enemy is unsure of your intentions, they must split their resources more broadly in case of the unexpected.Hell, we might not even want Swordhenge yet. We might decide we want to sit and build up for a few months before doing anything. Remember, our goal here in Fantasyland is to provide resources for the Reich in its war on Earth, not conquest. Don't overextend.
>>24000044That's possible. But they stay as prisoners, of course. They'll get two/three meals a day and a cot, but no more.
So, is this like Nazi fanfiction?
>>24000058It's a twist on the Connecticut Yankee / 1632 thing in which the modern folks are Nazis and we're invading Not Middle Earth instead of Not The Middle Ages.
I for once say its smarter to try to win on our side folks who have some sense of loyalty, instead of the ones who immediately switched sides.
>>24000039The most hardworking Jews and Jews in HQ were already granted honorary aryanship. It was the non industrious ones, the beggars and the poor, who were cleansed. But all the dwarves here are hardworking, and not poor. Can we just stop talking about it until after we defeat the Empire?
Rolled 3>>24000058This is a quest thread. So basically yes.
>>24000025I support this. It is both intimidating, and leaves something in reserve.
>>24000079Probably not true, but that's what a Wermacht officer would tell himself, at least in 1939.
>>24000058It depends on who you ask. Some are here for the strategic planning or a cool story, others for ethic cleansing or being "cartoon nazis". Today, there are more of the two latter than before.
>>24000044I like this plan. Offer them luxuries and things many of us at home take for granted, but have them pay for it with money. Then we can buy even more labor from the town.
>>24000079>Jews granted honorary aryanshiplol wut
>>24000108I semi-agree. That just means that they'll betray when someone makes a better offer. We want to build loyalty. We promised a fair but stern treatment. How about we leave them a choice -- leave with your pockets full, or remain as prisoners for a month, with the understanding that then you will be released and allowed to work to regain your position.Much as I still think the tripartite choice should be in force.>>24000103I like the story and the civil engineering aspect. I suspect that NPC cartoon nazis will show up soon anyway and we'll have to handle them.
>>24000155>>24000103So I'm guessing "cartoon" nazi's mean the irl nazis who wanted to cleans and master race and whatnot?
>>24000072>>24000082>>24000103...Why nazis though? That comes with a whole lot of Stormfront baggage of ethnic cleansing, institutionalized racism, the Holocaust, and working for one of the most evil organizations in history. I mean, seriously. Nazis. What the fuck man.
>>24000175That's one side of the coin.On the other is the honor, duty, loyalty to the state and people, the promise of a better world that will last a 1000 years. The shining glory and hope of a better future. Also not being too advanced to just steamroll over this place.
>>24000175theres noone else cool enough to have armies wearing hugo boss, i mean thats some serious high class bullshit
>>24000175Because nazis have a certain mythical aura. The superweapons, the clothing, the fascination with legends, the prestigeus projects, thousands marching in perfect order.
>>24000175Yeah, why not? Also, Indiana Jones.>>24000172Not necessarily. There were a number of Nazis and Fascists who were regarded as honorable combatants afterwards. Rommel has been cited multiple times, I'd like to add Gabriele D'Annunzio on the Italian side.>>24000205Also this. If you want an example of a "good" fantasy Nazi, how about Renate Richter from Iron Sky?>>24000216And the hats.
>>24000172In this case "Cartoon" means the ones that are more like SS Camp Kommandants instead of joe-blow Heer troops or officer, like Landa or Rommel.
>>24000175>ethnic cleansing, institutionalized racism, the holocaust, most evil organization in historyThat is the entire reason this is occuring
>>24000175Why not? It comes with that stuff only for retards. We want it to come with Blitzkrieg, armored spearheads, goose stepping marches, GERMAN EFFICIENCY! Nazi SUPERSCIENCE! Occult dabbling! BF 109s dogfighting with dragons and all the awesome shit we can come up with. Only idiots and trolls advocate the whole cleanse purge kill rape and pillage stuff.
>>24000235And it's fun to play the villian
>>24000245Or at the very least the blue-and-orange-morality knight templar.
>>24000245But why play the villain when none of us want to play the villainous aspect. We might as well have played Britain and the whole going into the portal King Arthur came from.

>>24000190Well, because you're making it sound like you're glorifying the aforementioned, and white washing its crimes with a chorus of "Rommel Rommel Rommel," while simultaneously drawing up an ethnicity cleansing scale.>>24000205Two sides of a coin there may be, but no matter the sides, a coin's a coin, and the nazis are nazis. >>24000258Because, we have the power, so we can lulz around doing whatever we want, being legitimately okay conquerers, and if shit hits the fan, execute everyone.
>>24000276Janurary 1940 to be precise, the month isn't out yet.

It shall prosper vastly, and beyond any other city. Our sciences will revolutionize what is had here-- and while we will be fair in trading our goods for your coin, we will not tolerate a derisive presence within our walls."Your words ring final, "I cannot expect to sway your loyalty instantly, but I will not allow you to undermine the Reich's rule. If you insist on doing so, then you shall be exiled, left with naught but a mount and sword to carry you where you shall go. You will leave this city empty-handed." He barks out, heading towards the door, clearly intent upon leaving the city.Your rule of this city has been solidified. >>24000354Because so far, being a villain will be totally counter productive. Not all nazis higher up were sociopathic dicks, especially in 1940.
>>24000392"That is a man of his word and we shall respect ours. He shall leave undisturbed today as sure as he shall regret having done so on his deathbed! Now, to business."

>>24000392We need to get some knowlege. What interesting spots are close to Redding? Are there legendary alloys, even more powerful than mithril? Send Siegfried to research the golem while wait for the report from Swordhenge and the construction we have scheduled for Redding. You got the list, right?
>>24000392Alright, first things first. Since this is the fuedal age, I assume a large portion of the people here are farmers or agriculural related.Next shipment, get some tractors and expert farmers to drastically reduce the need for them. Then pay these now unemployed farmers to work at building our forts and factories, and working the factories.
>>24000437It was counterproductive to devote a ridiculous amount of resources to kill 12 million people, but somehow Nazi Germany kept it up until the end of the war.
>>24000437no but you guys are pretending as if they werent nazis just regular soldiers in snazzy uniforms with some modern tech, but most of the wehrmarcht was nazis.
>>24000437Not all Nazis were Rommel either.
>>24000437Very much this. In the 60s and 70s there was a serious academic current that stated that Hitler would have won the war if he didn't waste time with concentration camps and similar things. That's easy to prove wrong (at the time just what sort of investment Russia had to make to beat the Germans on their front wasn't clear to Western historians) but there was serious discussion about it. Maybe we can take it as a what-if.
>>24000392I want our bests linguists to come in next shipment, give them a ring and have them try to decipher the language. We need to be able to loosely speak to these people without having them gather around loudspeakers
>>24000397The Fatherland doesn't have to worry about hacking off an entire empire with only a Company or so's worth of men. We do. So far we're only at the "annoyance" level, and it might be wise to keep it that way.>>24000392Well, as far as the senior aristocrat, have Gunther have his men grab him, strip him, and find a hackneyed nag and rusted sword for him to take with him.
>>24000461If we're going to do that, we should probably bring in more engineers and other science people.
>>24000450Imagine the following:We start imposing racial doctrines upon everyone starting now. Some are taken away and killed. Thay have friends and family prone to rebel, which are also deported by the Gestapo. We lose approval and our foces will be backstabbed. Then, we are just a burden for the HQ and will be recalled, mission failed.
>>24000509You're ignoring that fact that first we have to demonize the untermensch, until they themselves want them removed. Our propaganda experts will need to work on it first.Just like what happened in Germany, it was the people who turned them in not soldiers.why are we still talking about this, get back to the quest dammit we can do this later
>>24000461Fertilizer factory. That alone will quickly become a miracle.
>>24000509Agreed, if we can take over this empire, then we can use them to do that to another empire. No need to use fatherland troops to fight here when the locals will do just fine in the end.
>>24000509Divide and conquer, fool. If we never get started it'll never happen.
>>24000397Yeah, there are a lot of myths about WWII, like how america won by its own or the outrageous myths concerning certain people that are to be said to be killed by gassing by the millions. Lets agree that not everything you hear about those times was true and leave it, okay?>>24000392OP, you take so long with updates that i don't even remember what we were going to do.Lets see, we must expand and upgrade our barracks back at the camp (hot showers and such)We must set up garrison in the keep, upgrade it to modern standards.Determine what assets we have, speak with each guild and faction leaders to see how best we can work together.Set up administrative bureau, our officers will have a lot of workHave Siegfried search for anything magic related in the city including the magicians. Have him purchase interesting stuff we might need, recruit the magicians, set up an order. Then he should study the magic contraption and find a way to re-purpose it to power the gate.Send out our engineers and civil workers (with escort) around the town with translation rings to determine where we should start upgrading the town.
>>24000472You do know that the leaders on the frontline weren't exactly in the known of the Holocaust right? >>24000482We have taken our frist step into a NEW world and made otu first conquest, I don't know about you, but I'm pretty damn sure even High Command has no damn idea how to properly deal with what we got here, going ahead and massacring people with a token force is absolutely stupid.
>>24000544Which is whyA. Get linguists to decipher the languageB. Assimilate them into German culture slowlyC. Indoctrinate and educate the youth D. Raise these youths to be the next gen of soldiers, under auxilliary corporal Farnsworth (after graduating from Hitler Jugend)
>>24000509Basically.I will admit that I've been thinking more like a Roman Tribune than a Wermacht Officer: build infrastructure, civilize the locals that want to be civilized, annihilate the ones who don't. >>24000568Oh God, please don't tell me you're a holocaust denier.
>>24000579>going ahead and massacring people with a token force is absolutely stupid. That's it right there. We won't start doing that with a COMPANY of men. We'll need to wait until we've fully conquered and industrialized the place.
>>24000494No. He respected us by informing us of his true intent, knowing(probably expecting) we might do just as you described. Let's show that we are true to our word.

>>24000601What would you do if we are? Cry for mommy? Cut the shit already, we are trying to have a quest here and by god we will.
>>24000579Who's saying "Bwarrr kill 'em all." We're just saying that this namby pamby touchy feely "forgive our enemies bwwoooo" shit is annoying.
>>24000585>>24000492Translating the language is good.We can't rely on 3 rings to suffice an empire conquest.
>>24000601Like i said, there are a lot of lies and myths concerning the WWII so lets not demonize every single german just because of the things you heard in history lessons and on the tv.
>>24000392train line to the portal, as well as buried phone wires. Also see about a overhaul of the sewers and water supply. Don't forget the simple lifesaving secrets such as wash your hands and boil water. Hell, we should have loud speakers going sunrise to sunset explaining this stuff. How to be clean and why it matters, various farming techniques all sorts of stuff useful to the population For the most part, once things are in order upgrade fucking everything. Hand out blueprints and designs and all that juicy technical understanding our people have
>>24000644Welp, that explains so much of this Quest and its fanbase.
>>24000392SCIENCE! INDUSTRY! At least that fertilizer factory. As a civil engineer we shall personally inspect the mine and see how it can be made more productive and safer; that is something that can be done quickly, and will impress at least the merchants as much as our firepower.Less visibly (never imply weakness!), we shall deal with the magic gap and start doing science to that. Also, if there's a giant robot that's sitting there half-finished, GIANT ROBOT. Even if it has a jewish blueprint.
>>24000670hell man i know the nazi's were evil im just here because i want to play a bad guy. and this was one i figured would let me
Alright, let's make a list.>Next shipment, Farming equipment and engineers. Followed by training paying the townsmen to build factors and work in them.>Also linguists and teachers for planning schools for the youthAdd onto it guys.
Right now we need to talk to the Wizards, get them to charge the gate in exchange for some materiel on the next opening (Bring through, what, 1/2 ton of quartz as wizard-paying material and pay them a couple pounds per opening accelerated?)As for actual slots, we'll need to figure that out once we get back to base and HQ can tell us just what they can spare.

>>24000656You have got to be kidding me.First things first, no one is demonizing the modern German. Nazis were in government, nazis are out of government, end of story. Secondly though, calling it a myth is insulting and ignorant to a ridiculous degree. We're playing a quest here where we pretend to be a Nazi in the mold of Rommel, but please do not pretend that Nazi Germany did not do this for your own delusion. We have to acknowledge the facts here people, and I personally hope for Landa to come back from fantasy land to kick some ass for justice.
>>24000723No farming equipment for now, we're an engineer and can design simple, better equipment from memory. We need those slots for the Swordhenge Kampfgruppe.
>>24000723Yes, work on the quest.I swear anyone who wants to talk about eugenics right now will get shot.
>>24000670Go back to shitredditsays
This is a slightly adapted list of actions that should be done now.1) Secure Redding (i.e. transform the Keep into a local garrison, co-op local nobles and guilds, and begin some minor hearts and minds improvements) And finish the survey of local materials and buildings.2) Build a Fertilizer factory3) Locate and expand mining operations with our technology. Dirt roads with outposts leading between the city, the gate base, and the mines (if they don't already exist)4) Expand magical capacity. Investigate if magic works the same on our Earth. Research methods to keep the gate more stable and open for a longer time frame.5) Begin the indoctrination of local children by building a school to teach them German and the glory of National Socialism. Work with the local mages if possible, promising them positions of importance should they prove competent.6) Potentially send a military force to Swordhenge to rescue Eric and secure the town.7) Next supply cycle8) Build railways from the Mines to Redding to our Gate Base to allow for a movement of labour and resources9) Build up our local industrial capacity to make us slightly self-sufficient (Coal power plant, ore smelter, steel mill, chemical factory, munitions factory)10) Complete the star fort
>>24000701Sure, play the bad guy, but don't ignore history.
>>24000742whoa whoa half a ton of quartz seems a bit extreme. we might could have them charge the gate for much less. hell we could possibly charge the gate with the quartz alone.
>>24000767I wonder if there's an Afrika in this fantasy world? Would Fantasy blacks be below Jews?
>>24000670I'm not going into details but let me go OOC here for a moment:I had two grandfathers on opposite sides of WW2. They got along much better with each other than they did with younger people who did not see the sheer scale of horror than they did. Was one side the bad guys? Yes. Was the other side forced to be almost as brutal to win? Yes. Were there good men on either side? Yes. Let's be happy that it's 70 years later and we are far removed from this stuff enough that we can write silly fiction about it.>>24000650Agreed. We shall be just. Justice preempts mercy.>>24000723It's coming winter, so farming tools won't be very useful for a while. But we should definitely have combine harvesters ready for next year.>>24000767If you shoot all the people who talk about eugenic before they can reproduce... Wait a minute.>>24000774Looks good to me. Also, on the Volkswaffen front, we should find a Girandoni air rifle and copy it. This will give a good weapon to our local troops that cannot be used to reverse engineer the rest of our stuff.
>>24000775Agreed. I hope most of us here can diff between roleplay and fantasy.
>>24000775im not the fucking holocaust denier im>>24000450
>>24000775but we have to a little or the thread derails into huge arguments on why or why not to impose racial policies>>24000793IRL, blacks were treated above Jews in most occasions, and kept citizenship
>>24000774We can't secure Swordhenge with even ALL our current forces, much less a detached group. We'll need at LEAST a month's supply if we're lucky, and if not 2, and we're also waiting on the Jager recon to get back.As for the industry, good idea, but we'll also need to trickle in civilian managers and instructors for the factories over the next couple months. We'll also want to see about getting a pioneer squadron through, with an attached geomatics troop for mapping. That way we'll hopefully have 4 troops of engineers available, plus 1 mapping the area.
>>24000774what about turning the castle into a real modern day fortress? flak turrets LE.FH 18s mounted in it pillboxes electricity? lights, a command center.
>>24000774It does nothing tactically, but finding out whether magic items work on Earth is of paramount strategic importance.Imagine an army whose medics can cast even Cure Light Wounds.Even if it takes a portable generator to provide enough electricity for a wand of CLW to work...
>>24000788The 1/2 ton is a currency STOCKPILE, for the Redding and Swordhenge wizards to be paid with until they decide to work with us out of loyalty. I suspect we'll have to give away less than 100 pounds as payment.Maybe pay them by the ounce?
>>24000492You can request a team of linguists to be dispatched as either half, or for two teams to be dispatched as a whole science team selection.>>24000501>>24000542More engineers certainly never hurt, but you already have farmers on-hand well familiar with the soil. By improving current production techniques, you could likely achieve the same effects without withdrawing expert hands from Earth.A fertilizer factory is also doable. Depending on if you enlist local labor, it could even be done in a very rapid timeframe.>>24000568You currently have hot showers at your barracks back at camp, but you can improve capacity in it.A garrison in the keep, up to modern standards, would work best with specifications. Are you looking for a full range of medical facilities, fortifications, an operating theater, internal electricity/plumbing, and housing?Determining your assets will take some time, as various leaders and organizations collaborate to meet with you and your men. The arrival of the Gestapo, though not fluent in local tongue, should slowly speed things up a bit once translation is handled.Where do you wish for this bureau to be established? In the city, in the keep? Back at your main outpost?Siegfried will collect the local mages, as well as investigate all magical leads feasible. He'll also continue study on the contraption, though he has informed you it lacks a power source, and appears to be disassembled. It may be able to be completed and powered, if you wish to dedicate resources.Your engineers can take one of the translation rings, but you currently only have three on-hand. Siegfried has one, you have one, and Gunther has one. How do you wish to redistribute them?
>>24000175This quest is based on a thread on /tg/ from like 3 - 4 years ago or something, under the premise of "Dude, what if like... nazis invaded a fantasy world?" which then escalated. Why be upset? Honestly, is war and killing ever justified whether it's nazis, americans, nigerians or your level 10 hobomancer?I mean seriously, how many games on /tg/ aren't about or includes killing people? Not that many it would seem
>>240007741) Secure Redding (i.e. transform the Keep into a local garrison, co-op local nobles and guilds, and begin some minor hearts and minds improvements) And finish the survey of local materials and buildings.2) Build a Fertilizer factory3) Locate and expand mining operations with our technology. Dirt roads with outposts leading between the city, the gate base, and the mines (if they don't already exist)>can we make paved roads? we have concrete and tar and such4) Expand magical capacity. Investigate if magic works the same on our Earth. Research methods to keep the gate more stable and open for a longer time frame.>don't forget the lighting rod tests5) Begin the indoctrination of local children by building a school to teach them German and the glory of National Socialism. >we still need to decipher the language, and build schools, and make sure the kids aren't needed at home to workWork with the local mages if possible, promising them positions of importance should they prove competent.6) Potentially send a military force to Swordhenge to rescue Eric and secure the town.7) Next supply cycle8) Build railways from the Mines to Redding to our Gate Base to allow for a movement of labour and resources>We need locomotive, but we can build the rails now9) Build up our local industrial capacity to make us slightly self-sufficient (Coal power plant, ore smelter, steel mill, chemical factory, munitions factory)>right10) Complete the star fort
>>24000853While we wait for the reports on industry, food, and magic to collated by the watch commander and Siegfried, we should take a quick walk around of the castle to determine how long it would take to bring it up to modern standard (Running water, power, heating, sanitation, proper kitchen facilities, garage area, supply dumps, maintenance area, etc), and whether just building a new garrison elsewhere would be easier.
>>24000853>>24000669Train lines will require extensive resource investments, as well as manpower. Do you wish to draw from the city's reserves? Phone lines can be established in four days, however, if you dedicate your unoccupied men and a team of engineers (with equipment) to the task.>>24000681You can visit the mines in person if you desire: A quick inquiry has you notified that they're only a day's travel in the northern directions, near a particularly rich yet small range of mountains.>>24000774A number of these activities depend on whether or not you include the local populace into a conscripted or paid labor force for your projects, before appropriate estimates can be made. Materials are also required, which can be procured from local warehouses under similar methods.>>24000841Entirely doable, though it may prove tricky to build the necessary crane to get your flak weaponry atop the keep.>>24000851You may store your precious materials in the keep's vault if you desire, but some of your men are currently trying to figure out how to access it. The current thoughts seem split between blasting it open and rebuilding it, and attempting to have some mechanical engineers try to figure out the locking mechanism.
>>24000853>A garrison in the keep, up to modern standards, would work best with specifications. Are you looking for a full range of medical facilities, fortifications, an operating theater, internal electricity/plumbing, and housing?Y-yes?>Where do you wish for this bureau to be established? In the city, in the keep? Back at your main outpost?Somewhere in the noble district.>Your engineers can take one of the translation rings, but you currently only have three on-hand. Siegfried has one, you have one, and Gunther has one. How do you wish to redistribute them?Take the one that Gunther has and give it to the engineers (with escort). Gunther is now on a break. Also, we should talk to Siegfried about the weird twins we saw. Probably magicians.
>>24000853We are head engineer, so we should go with the engi team.A fertilizer factory would be fantastic but it will not pay off for months if it's November. If we are to prove our peacetime superiority the mines come first as those operate year round. Our original base is better defended; if we set up our bureau there, it has tactical advantages. But then there's an ant-line of people going back and forth... Best to set up "court" such as it is, in town, I think.>>24000894I'd like to vote against train lines for now. Maybe a line between mine and town; historically that was the first use of rails anyway.>>24000894It's winter, there probably are a lot of semi-idle farmers.
>>24000894oh and one thing we should order next supply round is specialized artillery and mortar ammunition (napalm, mustard gas, airburst.
>>24000795I would prefer them to have high-quality medieval gear. The air rifle should only be handed out to our most loyal servants to keep the shock and awe effect.>>24000841Stationing the artillery and flak here will make them immobile. A few MGs are okay, but we will need the other weapons for future conquests.>>24000851We should have Siegfried go to the mages guild, and report back after looking around and asking some questions that don't expose our utter lack of knowledge. Stuff like "How is the supply with magic materials going?".>>24000880Paved roads should be doable, especially since we will be able to request the town's workforce.>>24000894They will be paid from the stuff of the dead nobles. Again, find out what stuff is worth.
>>24000945>Dead noblesYou mean evicted nobles
>>24000894>A number of these activities depend on whether or not you include the local populace into a conscripted or paid labor force for your projects, before appropriate estimates can be made. Materials are also required, which can be procured from local warehouses under similar methods.Yes. We will include local paid workforce. Hopefully we can teach them stuff on the work site though it will be hard due to the language barrier.>The current thoughts seem split between blasting it open and rebuilding it, and attempting to have some mechanical engineers try to figure out the locking mechanism.Lets not blast it yet.Heck, lets just ask around. Herr Beren comes to mind first.
>>24000945yeah but we can order in more equipment. just a suggestion which will probably be shot down instantly
>>24000945That's why I recommended the Windbuchse - it's basically a technological dead end. In addition, it needs either a long time to hand-pump or pneumatic recharging stations that we can keep control of. And its bullets are (1) completely different than firearm bullets (2) very easy to make as they're basically just lead pellets.
>>24000894We'll have to lay phone lines as we build the rail line. We can being a survey along the road when we leave, using one of the engineer sections. For the locals, ask the watch commander how many are generally used as day labor and how they're paid, we'll likely need many men and possible even women to work building our transportation and manufacturing centers. They will, of course, be paid, but we do not know what currency the world uses and we doubt Reichmarks would work.
What's the statues on Siegfried and the ghost twins? And can someone please make an update on Farnsworths trainingI want more story aspect as well.
Fools we neither have the manpower nor the time and knowledge to start anything overtly hostile. They need further convincing? Fine. Why don't we ask that little kid with his army what happens with people who opose us? Ask Gunther to bring that brat in. They are either afraid of Gunther or have to pick a little kid over a conqueror. If they need further convincing fine. Everyone of them not with us will be imprisoned (house arrest). As soon as we take swordhenge they will get a frontseat to see our weapons in action. Then they will have to make a choice. Be allowed to go free or work with us.Remind them that their estates and funds stay however. Yes even a noble is just a pompous guy without money. if they stay or ally with us they keep what they have. We are interested in manpower and resources not taxes at the moment. I'll guess the Baron can't beat that. Especially in wartime a Baron wants his nobles to deliver troops not to beg for food.If they decide to leave, fine. Nothing better to spread terror into enemies then survivors.Another Idea. That paladin tried to see if we where bluffing as we where first meeting him. Ask him if detects now any form of subterfuge/lie.
>>24000987We're already at war, but we are understrength, we don't have the men to do anything now but fortify our positions, build infrastructure with local assistance, and wait for reinforcements. Right now, we're at an operation pause while we build up the troops needed to take Swordhenge (Hopefully a battalion, if not, it'll be a while.
>>24000956If I remember correctly the SS shot some who did not want to come peacefully.>>24000962I think we should use our supplies for more important stuff at the moment. Also, I forgot to send small groups of the locals out with a little town guard escort to visit the neighboring town and recruit mages for us, mainly for powering the gate.
>>24000987We should start subtly devaluing the meaning of hereditary nobilty -- those who do not sign up wholeheartedly get to keep their title and nothing else. We will be unfailingly polite with words, and ignore them in fact.Enough of that and in a generation Shift Foreman will command more respect than Count.
>>24000963Ahem for auxiliary troops, I believe we agreed on bringing as much information(books, designs) on medieval arms and armour+ if possible an expert. We still get an advantage for our supporters, while maintaining same technological gap.
>>24001040Agreed, but at some point it will be expedient to have "trade guns" around. Tech will eventually leak out; we can choose which, so let's.
>>24001051I'd rather face a "reverse engineered" army with windbuchse and Halman projectors than with actual artillery -- the pneumatic stuff does not scale up well.
>>24001040If anything, local auxiliaries would be trained as infanterie, assuming HQ approves it, since any territory we recruit from would be part of Germany. Why? Because it fosters the image that we're in this together, we're equals, and that they aren't beneath us.(Although whether we could actually train these people into proper troopers is another question)
>>24000987We didn't manage to convince only one person..... which we let go with a horse, which was a bad idea, imo. We should have put him under house arrest and had our officers work through him for a month, letting him see our way.As now it stands, he is going to inform the empire about us and we'll lose our great advantage..... Unless we intercept him and kill him on the road, making it look like bandits got him!Yes! No one will know! I suggest we do this as soon as possible, we cannot let Empire retaliate yet!
>>24001051Guns are worthless without ammo, and they will hardly find out how to reverse engineer it. The windbüchse can be manufactured by an able blacksmith.
We should send gunther to kill the aristocrat who left, once he leaves the city, and to bury his body. We should not let him alert the Empire to our presence so earlier.I also advocate building phone lines between redding and our HQ as well as laying down the foundation of the star fort and expanding the barracks.
>>24001075He's a civilian, we have no legal standing on detaining him. We're ethical soldiers, and news would get out anyways, because doubtless someone sent a messenger already and/or some locals fled the night we came.
>>24000986Farnsworth?Well, if you insist. When came to he was indeed quiet as other reports had said, something akin to shell shock or trauma, I'm not too familiar with that branch of medicine. He never said a word for weeks.Anyway, out of some sense of fear or self preservation he did his duties quickly and quietly, whether it was cleaning latrines or sweeping the floors. He seems to be getting a basic grasps of German, or at least gruff commands, and almost likes being ordered around.I suspect that a strong parental figures was something he lacked, and wanted. He also takes a great liking to newsreels, especially of other hitler youth and the Fuhrer. I think that's the political officers intent.I'll gladly continue to monitor his situation.
>>24001051So what if it does? Dude even if they capture a tank, no one can reverse engineer it. The gap is too big. There is no tech to leak out. They'll need years just to understand the principles, then even many more to advance the industrial base to the level where it can produce the tools needed to build the tools to actually make a crude copy. Now making some techno-magical contraption? Yeah thats more like it - they can try to copy us this way even without looking at the internal workings, just the effect.
>>24001089That's a point - the Empire doubtlessly has agents keeping an eye on the local nobles and at least one ran off, we can't surround an entire city. But we don't have to.Actually, as our first diplomatic opening, we should negotiate for Eric's release.
>>24001075What will happen if the Emperor or some Count is angry at us? Right, he'll send an army. This will take some time, and with the planes we've gotten until then it will be easy to spot and destroy them with bombs and artillery.
>>24001108True, but "firearm" is a fairly simple concept. The windbuchse would be something effective for a rifle, nigh-useless for a field gun if it was scaled up, and a way to DELAY reverse engineering due to misdirection.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jezail Do not underestimate weaponsmiths.
So, for the Swordhenge attack, I've highlighted the troops I believe we'll need, at minimum, to secure the city either via peaceful occupation or by storm, any thoughts? (It's 3 companies of infantry, 1 of mechanised infantry, 1 panzer platoon, and 1 artillery battery)As for tasks to be done now, I suggest the following:1) Finish a survey of Redding's industrial, food production, and magical capacities.2) Survey the keep for a timeframe on a proper conversion3) Hire the local mages to help charge the gate and make more translation rings (Pay with Quartz, probably by the ounce)4) Bring in the engineer truppe to help build the new factories in the town, and survey the road for the future rail line5) Get back to base with the troops and await the recce to report back6) Begin building rail stock and other necessary parts using local industry
>>24001111>Actually, as our first diplomatic opening, we should negotiate for Eric's releaseMan, who cares about that guy? It's like a waifu obsession from other quests but he's a guy. There is nothing remarkable about him.
>>24001080Its too late - the Empire was alerted to our presence the moment we released Eric. We will achieve little, but we could lose our reputation if we are discovered. Bad idea.
>>24001096>I'll gladly continue to monitor his situation. Please Herr Doktor, do so.
>>24001141And focus what's left on the starfort. We need a final, impenetrable fortress when all else fails.
>>24001108If you can grok a rifle, you can grok scaling it up and making a cannon -- those are more of a concern in the long run. Pneumatic rifles just don't scale up past a certain point, because physics. The best smiths in the enemy camp will spend thousands of man-hours building oversize potato throwers instead of proper cannon.
>>24001148Indeed! FOR SCIENCE!
>>24001111What if you are overestimating the Empire? Anyway, I'm in favour of removing that aristocrat, it was a mistake to offer free leave now we have to rectify it.Like you said, it wont be possible to keep this from leaking but a word from an aristocrat carries more weight than from travelers and traders. Besides, there is a huge difference between people talking about us favorably and not.
>>24001171If we are forced to hand out rifles, it should be those, but at the moment I see neither a need nor benefits from it.
>>24001187Because you always assume the worst in ANY military situation.ALWAYS assume the enemy has intel.

You have some mining equipment amongst your construction gear, which you can dedicate towards the mines, though nothing particularly dedicated in that area.Dirt roads are feasible, and interlinking all of those areas with dirt roads will take a week and a half. Three weeks for paved roads, as you need to extract the tar in question and incorporate it into the mixture utilized. The lightning rod test and research should prove simple enough, especially with Magi Arthur's ritual having been captured for future research purposes. You will be unable to test until the Gate opens again, however.5) Indoctrination will require language to be breached, but your Gestapo and other political officers can begin on the youngest children. Dedicated teaching staff may prove more efficient, however.Working with the local mages may pan out, though motivating them may prove tricky, considering that you have need of them, but no apparent vice-versa.The building itself can be brought up to running order with little difficulty: Perhaps a week, two weeks in order to establish running water, power, heating, and all the amenities of a full fortress. Having fuel on-hand for the power and heating and food preparation may prove a bit of a vulnerability, but you could amend that with either fuel storage on-site or a pipeline.
>>24001096Hey, if we don't get those linguists he'd make a great translator pretty soon.See if we can get him to tell us more about the Empire, he'd probably know the being the Baron and all.

For that to happen, the central bureaucracy must have some sort of observer network independent from the local ruler, if nothing else cursores that report as they carry messages.
>>24001250Seize the dead and exiled noble's assets, we'll use them to pay the local workforce. While we can't force the homeless or vagrant to work, offer 4 silver per day for 8 hour shifts building. We'll renovate the keep for now, and build the factory with a waste pipeline to a swamp. We should also begin a survey for a future rail-line to and from the gate.

how about taxes?Should we lower them to boost economy and production or keep them as they are?
We should find a way to educate grown ups as well. That way we get better work force, language understanding and ideological indoctrination.Since we have a fuck ton of money as said in >>24001330, we can pay everyone a single silver for attending those lectures.
>>24001431Oh believe me, they will work all right. Ofc if in 300 years we get brown elves who refuse to work and keep shouting that the White aryan Man is keeping them down, don't say I did not warn you!

>>24001444Lower, most definitely. We don't really need their taxes that much, and its another detail in our favour. Besides. We have "inherited" a very significant amount of money.
>>24001472Actually a bit of propaganda in that sense would help. "Work and rise: don't and starve" and the like.On average, how many of the locals can read?
>>24001376We could have the loudspeakers announce that starting tomorrow at sunrise, the workers should assemble in front of the town to be told what they should do for the rest of the day. We should give the commander of the engineers a translator ring, so he can brief the skilled workers, which will command the homeless and vagrants."In the German Reich, everyone has a right to work so he can pay for his living costs, but also, every adult should work at his best capabilities. We offer 4 silver coins a day to the skilled craftsmen, and 2 coins and food to those who are not."
>>24001483True, but that's a one-time windfall. I vote we leave it alone for now.If you are being taxed 50% but take home 8 coins out of 16 instead of 7 out of 14 because SUPERIOR TEUTONIC SCIENCE has given you better tools, you're still better off.
Oh, by the way, no german soldier or any other personnel is to go through the city without a small squad. Soldiers should always move with at least 4 people and other personnel should always have an escort. We don't want anyone to be killed in a dark alley and our weapons ans shit stolen.

I propose that we build an orphanage/home for street urchins, and turn it into combined home/school/propaganda house. This will certainly backfire on us if we don't.OP, what is the name of the Gestapo officer? And could we also arrange a private meeting with the three Redding factions who supported us first?
>>24001791>Out of 1200 people, a few who are quick on the uptake will start learning German and find that they are put in charge of small work gangs and spend a bit of time translating and less time breaking their backs. And better pay too.

>>24001812Not Gunther since he is on break but other SS Commandoes should be able to handle it.
>>24001800Don't forget improving the mines>>24001812I do not agree. Our honor is more important than this.
>>24001803Just remember you're going to encounter the same shit we did.Depending on your group you're might encounter people who want to be holocaust realistic Nazi's, Noble Idyllic Nazi's, and "I just want to look like a Nazi" Nazi's.
>>24001838Don't forget roading the quarry to the concrete plant, and the concrete plant to the starfort foundations.
>>24001812>And could we also arrange a private meeting with the three Redding factions who supported us first?when you are making such suggestions, could you immediately tell us why? It has happened numerous times in other quests where some anon wants to meet someone or go someone and when we finally do and OP asks "now what?", no one has any idea because the person who initially suggested it is gone and never told why he wanted to.
>>24001812Second that. That shit is like conservation of ninjutsu: 100 dissenters leaving is a nuisance but a single one leaving may very well become the BBEG of our campaing.
>>24001848Second on both.We can literally do a miracle with fertilizer and modern harvesting equipment, but that only happens next fall. Mine production and miner safety can be improved NOW and be visible to all.On that note, we should find out if our crops have higher yield than theirs, or even if they grow on this soil. Set up a grow room with lamps and have some specimen grains brought in?
>>24001733Fortifications, civil improvements, irrigation, sanitation, farming ,mining, damn near everything. If it makes the city better, go for it.

Our honour is not worth the potential soldiers we will lose because the Empire army came much earlier AND better prepared since they would have some knowledge what they are facing.
>>24001848Indeed, the mines are of a high priority in my mind. For as it has been said, a fertilizer wont show its results until next harvest, a long time away.making the mines produce 10 times as much goods in a matter of days/weeks...Yea, thats going to be a HUGE propaganda victory (and, you know, metals)
>>24001867I typically stay the length of the entire thread but I digress; to reward them for being brave enough to step forward and be the first ones to embrace the Reich of course.
>>24001875Potatoes, if they dont have them. They give FAR larger harvest then bread-wheats per m2. It might be slightly difficult to convince the locals that its good for them, but by then we should have a massive reputation for being awesome fuckers with awesome shit that they happily share.
>>24001904Also, this is a medium-sized (yes, 15K is medium size) medieval town. People talk. If people can be made to talk about how their third cousin Justus, who works in the mine, no longer has to worry about firedamp because of the new lamps AND is making twice the money because the mine is ten times as productive, that's worth as much as scaring the shit out of the populace with our heavy artillery. We shall walk as ubermensch and we shall teach the worthy that they too can be.

>>24001900>>24001965My plan to deal with a major Imperial army has always been that, if we can't stop them using diplomacy, we crush it using all the heavy weapons in our arsenal. I mean bombers, artillery, tanks, mayber even chemical weapons. Thus, I don't actually fear them since we will destroy them with long-range weaponry before they pose a threat.
>>24001800I'd rather keep the Keep to military matters and simply bulldoze one of the noble houses to make room for our admin centre. Then we can make it out of concrete with glorious pillars and inbuilt swastikas; something that'll impress the locals.
>>24001965You're missing the point that there's probably already locals on the way, and given the Baron's army I doubt the empire can spare that many.Plus, we now have artillery. We can engage in a mobile defense using our panzer and half-tracks, with artillery bombarding for hours every day, whittling them down on the march to contact.PLUS, by the time they get any army on the way, we'll have, hopefully, at least a battalion of infantry, at least a platoon of panzers, if not a company, and at least a company of mechanized infantry, in addition to our artillery, which is currently 1.5 batteries in strength.
>>24001985Of course, this is something we will be telling our grandchildren for generations. The men are proud to have been a part of it.I'm sure our Fuhrer will be overjoyed to hear our sucess.Heil Hitler!
>>24002004That wastes time and resources. We're an engineer. We HATE wasting time and resources.

>>24002004Agreed. A concrete building will be a sight to behold for them, ESPECIALLY if they see it go up as fast as it will with no magical help. Let's demolish the ugliest house and build on top of it.Matter of fact, this gives us a fairly nice opportunity for a controlled demolition demonstration. Have it at the end of a work shift, everyone is invited, and allow C.M.O.T. Dibbler to set up shop nearby.
>>24001827Yes. We need to show them that they can progress with hard work.
>>24002024Hardly, it efficiently separates the military/ political spheres of control into two assets, meaning that our power base is not solely situated in one location! As to the lone noble, it seems like the consensus opinion is that the locals have already informed th Imperial representative and that killing thi guy proves nothing; so if this is the case, let's get started fortifying this town and finishing our star fort!
>>24002007locals =/= aristocratHis word carries more weight than 100 locals. >>24002024Besides, we can sell it for tons of money. >>24002039This x1000.>>24001998I'd still keep it a secret that we have aircraft. We might show newsreels of battleships because it's not a leap to go from "tank" to "ship built out of tank", but ixnay on the Uftwaffe-lay.

>>24002338True. But that is the attitude we want to cultivate in our new fellow citizens, so we should respect it in an enemy.

>>24002268>>24002274Fertilizer factory first off. Get the roads to the mines up, have the engineers look to see if a rail route is useful too.Convert the keep to have power, plumbing, heating, proper sanitation, hygienic dining and food prep facilities, a proper garage and maintenance area, secure storage for munitions, supply areas, proper living space, etc.The Steel mill and smeltery need not be massive, only enough to work with the projected output of the mines we have after modernisation with a little extra, so they aren't working all-out all the time. We'll use the keep as a bureau for now, once we have enough troops to warrant a separate garrison the keep can be given to full-time admin duty.
>>24002268First things first, let's upgrade the keep to military standards, build an underground pipeline here from our refinery and construct that admin office in the noble quarter after destroying an evicted house.
>>24002377You can't beat Nazi's for charisma
>>24002385Undeground pipeline would take too long, as would a fuel pipeline. We'll have to rely on weekly convoys for now, it won't be too much of an issue anyways, and eventually rail transport.

For the language barrier, would it be feasible to assign a ring to our linguist, hire a literate local, and tell them to write down specific words? That way you could create a sort of German-to-Whateverthelocallanguageis handbook. It wouldn't do much good with ordering illiterates, but it could be a base to learning to translate any books we capture. They could also tell the local we hire to read the word if we point at it with the ring off, and then write what they say as a pronunciation guide.

Current plan of action:1) Secure Redding (i.e. transform the Keep into a local garrison, reward loyal followers, and begin some minor hearts and minds improvements)2) Send a recon force to watch over Swordhenge3) Expand mining operations with our technology. >>24003077Exactly.>>24003085Again, let's start with balloons/airships.>>24003093Point
>>24003087Well, we can have them send us a copy of their nots as they progress. We can learn vocab via bookreading, at the very least.
>>24003092But that's a soviet abomination, unworthy of the name Zeppelin
>>24003100I'd hold off on the munition factory.
>>24003074>>24003077are you gentlemen seriously suggesting that we should not further develop and evolve the glorious zeppelin into a terrifying world conquering dirigible, and merely use them as bait?
>>24003100>10) Begin the indoctrination of local children by building a school to teach them German*with the help of Gabrielle and HJ warrant officer Farnsworth>and the glory of National Socialism. Work with the local mages if possible, promising them positions of importance should they prove competent.
>>24003122Let's build a basic industrial base and secure the portal position with a star fort before we start making Nazi superweapons.
>>24003087while that makes sense, it means that we are not in close proximity to all that sexy science
>>24003108So we make a better one!>>24003034> undead... you know, if this turns into Army of Darkness, I will be very happy.Actually, how expensive are skeletons? Can we make a skeleputer?
>>24003122I'm suggesting that it can be used as a terrifying world conquering weapon, but be quickly downgraded to "bait" if the need arises. If they come at us with dragon riders, we lose ONE battle and then come back with fucking rocket fighters.>>24003139I am surprised that the good burghers haven't sent us their comeliest hunk/wench to cement the alliance yet.
>>24003128>warrant officerThat seems a bit much, he's still freshly recruited. But yeah I can see that being a title for him later.
>>24003141Undead skeletons usually can shoot bows, right? It wouldn't be farfetched to have them shoot rifles.>Have an unstoppable army of undead soldiers back on Earth. Victory is assured!
>>24003100Voting against locomotive and the educators and SS politicos. We have gestapo and we can get a few linguists and teachers to hop on to the blitzes, that slot is better spent on panzers or leg infantry.
>>24003128The last time we heard from him he was still mouthing off to his guards and needed a good beating to shut up; so I think he's quite a while off being the perfect model of a German soldier. Maybe we should send him back to Germany to learn military and statecraft at an SS Officers Academy...
>>24003187How do we know some wizard won't just corrupt them and turn them against us?And sure, great big army of the undead, that will look good for our public image after we win.
>>24003169We are not fucking using Farnsworth as anything besides perhaps a bargaining chip in negotiations. He's a PoW, we can't trust him with anything.
>>24003187...That is a thing. As long as we have an expanded, living armourer corps to maintain their bolt-action rifles, this could be a thing. Bonus points if they're given Totenkopf uniformsOh god we're turning into castle wolfenstein.
>>24003100No locomotives. We don't need them yet and dragging them out of the portals in time would be a bitch, even disassembled. Boilers are big.
>>24003199I'm getting conflicting messages. Some people say he's quiet and shocked but learning and growing fond of the Reich.Other's that he's still a brat.I'm inclined to the first
>>24003208>Public image after we winHistory is written by the victors.
>>24003197We have a squad of 20 Gestapo/ politicos for not only our Expeditionary force, but for Riverside (50 people) and for Redding (1,500 people). More political control and education is a must. If we must replace anything, it can be the locomotives, we can get them next resupply.
>>24003210What part of "test to see if we can indoctrinate a boy before we even try hardened men and women/hitler youth rolemodel" are you not getting?
>>24003234We don't NEED that many right now, we can get a proper psyops troop once we have enough military strength to hold on to our captured territory, meaning we need at least the forces in this pic.Maybe not as many panzers but it's so we don't need more later when we might not be able to get them.
Holy fuck this thread is nearing 600 posts!
>>24003229I am too. I liked the story the one anon wrote about him just needing a strong father figure. And who's a better father than the Fatherland (and a few good political officers). But yeah, sending him to a HJ academy back home (and possibly having Hitler promoted him) would seal the deal and his loyalty.
>>24003074They allready have counter measures. They are called dragons.
>>24003263We don't even need Panzers yet. Just more infantry to secure our growing sphere of operations.
>>24003208Ideally, we use tech here and magic on Earth.
>>24003290We need panzers for direct fire support, psychological factors and because they're self-propelled. Our artillery isn't and until we can get some Wespes and 251/2s, we'll need them and their heavier guns on the line and for mobile operations.
>>24003277We have no idea if those can even stand up to a pissy Machinegun yet, let alone FlaK cannons.Odds are Dragons will be a nonissue. Compared to Spitfires or Mustangs.
>>24003263The company-sized detachment isn't /just/ Gestapo and Politicos. Its more like 60% linguists, educators and various academics, and 40% Gestapo and Politicos. >6 Opel Blitz light trucks carrying food, ammunition, railways and medical supplies.>Mechanized Company of Wehrmacht Soldiers riding in Sd.Kfz. 251s>A company-sized detachment of SS political officers, linguists and German educators (including a history and medieval weapons/armour professor) + Left-over Nazi statues and flags.>Infantry company of Wehrmacht SoldiersBetter?>>24003264That's nothing new for this Quest.
>>24003290mechanised infantry and armored cars anyone? best of both worlds, all the manpower and still mobile
>>24003213Doom zeppelins and zombies. Now we're talkin'.
>>24003277That is an interesting question. Are there dragons living with humans, or secluded. Do they posess superior knowledge that may be worth accessing?
>>24003275He'd treat the Fuhrer like a god at that point, so yeah that sounds good to seal his loyalty.
>>24003228A farm tractor with a rail boogie instead of wheels can be done very quickly. It doesn't have to be fast, just have lots of torque.
>>24003312Wespes won't exist for another three, four years yet. Standard towed leFH18s will work just fine.Alternately, s10cm K18 guns for when we really need to reach out and touch someone over the horizon.
>>24003326The good armored cares don't exist yet, and you'll note that my org also has mech infantry, but we'll want both. Why? Because who knows what the fuck is out there, I mean, they had a giant mobile machine-thing being built, who knows what else is out there.
>>24003336and are they attractive?brb thinking about blond haired blue eyed aryan dragons
>>24003228The portal is big enough to let planes fly through it dude.Just haul it on a very large semi-truck.
>>24003348I'm saying we should wait until we actually have rails to put the things on, first.
>>24003358Actually they'll exist by the end of the year. And we can probably get them earlier if we go "Hey HQ, we need our LeFHs to be more mobile. Think you could stick them on a tank or something?"
>>24003365Pumas, no.But the current Sd.Kfz 221 and 222 models are excellent for our needs.
>>24003371As a reminder, a truck chassis CAN be used to pull mine carts if the track is reasonably flat. We can just take a truck and convert it to rail at some point, when it's expedient.
>>24003387As long as we modify the tops to be covered and protect from arrows as well.
>>24003387At this stage I'd be more interested in something like a Unimog truck that can be fitted with a modular cargo box for various duties. Riot-quelling steam sprayer, mobile pillbox, flak cannon, mortar platform, cargo. None of this stuff has to be built to WW2 standards either, civilian trucks would do.
>>24003389I guess most of our trucks are expedient. We should do it as soon as we finish the tracks.
>>24003378It is November 1939.The Wespe did not happen until 1943.And the idea of chopping up PzII chassis, in 1939 when they compose the majority of our nation's armoured forces would be ludicrous to HQ.Towed guns are fine for our needs.
>>24003389We do have an abundance of trucks, 30 Opels and 10 Protze's.
>>24003424>Towed guns are fine for our needs.Any obsolete equipment that is just sitting there in the Fatherland is worth gold to us. Even a WW1 style tank (with newer engines maybe) can make for a useful thing -- it can look conspicuous and distract from more lethal vehicles, be impressive as a command car when we drive it up to a city, be used as a tractor...
>>24003450I think making METAL BAWKSES for them that infantry can fire out of wouldn't be bad. Shit, against arrow they can just be thick wood.
>>24003456>Any obsolete equipment that is just sitting there in the FatherlandThing is, there *isn't*. All of Germany's kit got scrapped post-WW1 and we were forbidden from developing new shit until we threw that out with the treaty in '33.Excluding a few old SCW-use aircraft, and Panzer I tanks, everything is brand new.
>>24003465As a short-term solution, this isn't too bad.Moving on, how do we wish to reward the three brave factions of Redding who stood forward first to support the Reich, Herr Citizens?
>>24003509Brave or opportunistic?Well, a few nobles just DID renounce their estates... we won't have time to do the day to day running of them.
>>24003509Find out what they do, what holdings they have, and if competent appoint them as capitalists-esque owner/managers in those fields?I dunno. see what they've got first.
>>24003424It's January 1940 bro.
>>24003509I would think: High ranking administrative/status jobs for the Nobles. the Guild is likely outside of that system altogether.Landed titles, a classic but it works.Making up new fancy sounding honorifics, always a crowd pleaser. But really, the easiest way is education.Allow them the chance to become one of us, assimilate and absorb them. A great honour for them, a great oppertunity for us.Teach them german, give them clothing akin to ours.Allow them to leave behind what they were, and take up the mantle of men of the Reich.
>>24003527>>24003529I like the sound of both of these; but we do need more information about what they have first.I do like the idea of giving them preferential treatment, as its in line with what the Party did with big business conglomerates in Germany proper.
>>24003539Last thread it was Nov '39. It hasn't taken that long to give a speech.Irrelevant either way, since the Wespe is still 3 years off.>>24003527Better to integrate agricultural or manufacturing holdings with the other crown lands we just seized.Physical estates like houses, keep on hand to either liquidate for cash later or convert into admin or public facilities, like libraries, schools or hospitals.
>>24003509The Artificer guild can get some new tools. About the both houses, I dunno.
>>24003484Heh, point there. That said, even farm tractors would be very useful. Especially if they run on wood gas.
>>24003574>>24003539Ther are two different dates mentioned this thread and last thread, we need OP to clarify.
>>24003575This is imperative.1) Find out if they are still making screws by hand.2) If they are, offer them all the screws they want.Just this will be a mini-revolution of the same scope as fertilizer.
>>24003574>House stuffThis. Also keeping what are probably nice examples of local architecture and culture is probably going to be appreciated by posterity later, and anyone with taste now.
>>24003604Just simple wood screws. If they are being made by hand, machine-made screws would change EVERYTHING for most skilled trades.
>>24003604You are a damn genius.
>>24003604Depending on if they are using magic or not (likely).Platinum, quartz, marble.Promises of more platinum quartz and marble.Looking like you are horrifyingly and incredibly rich is always a good thing in a feudal society.Naturally, we offer the same to the magicians, but more as a business model then the reward the guild is given.
>>24003604Be casual about it: ask the metalworking guild master if we can see some fine work, and mention screws. If he sees them as something to that takes a long time to do, ideally, have a camera on hand when we tell him that we can make the things by the thousands.
>>24003604*clap* *clap* *clap'Good idea. Very good.
>>24003588Last few threads mentioned Warsaw surrendered and Poland is ours along with the soviets.I'd think it's 1940.
>>24003654...don't just tell the guy, though
>>24003604that's going to screw over some specialised artificiers, but is probably worth it.
>>24003654What if.... what if they don't use screws at all?
>>24003672Which is still '39. Poland fell by late September.
>>24003677Just get a box thereof out of a spare parts bin and let him examine them. Remind him that no magic was involved.>>24003693That's possible: in that case just call one of our workers over and have him demonstrate how much easier it is than doweling and how much stronger than nails.Shit, just machine-made nails would do it I bet.
>>24003693Then they're screwed, mechanically speaking.
>>24003672pretty sure it's first or second week of november 1939
>>24003702>>24003672Also the Admiral Graf Spee sinking the exeter. the ajax, and the achilles.Really, I'm nuetrual to something as insignificant as a four month difference.
>>24003733Yeah, it's not that big a deal. late 1939/early 1940. If you want to be anal about it, ask OP when he gets back.
>>240037334 months could make all the difference in the world.Imagine the difference in the Battle of Britain if there's 4 extra months worth of mithril-armoured fighter/bomber production smashing up Pom airfields and planes?
>>24003742We should know about potatos and grains before planting season is in.Once the next harvest is in, if we play our cards right we can go from having 80% of our population work the fields to, say, 30%. Everyone else can goosestep all over the known world.>>24003753Agreed. Or, mithril-hulled zeppelins. Of doom. With extra doom sprinkles.
>>24003771>zeppelins as a world war 2 weapon on earthSpace Core, please.
>>24003808How about the Saenger Antipodal Bomber then? Mithril hulls would make it a feasible design.
>>24003771>Agreed. Or, mithril-hulled zeppelins. Of doom. With extra doom sprinkles.Um. I know that's intentionally a touch facetious, but Zeppelins don't work that way. Or have Hulls, as such.Good humour is cool and all, but there are dickheads in these thread who'd take that as gospel.
>>24003808On earth yeah that's just silly. Here, not so much. How flame/claw retardant is mithril against dragons?
>>24003854...Let's concentrate on actually winning the war, preferably in '41-'42 like we need to, first.
>>24003854We're still in the infancy of rocketeering and jets. V1's are a good four years away.
>>24003866It's metal. The operative problem is that metal hulls on an airship's skin really don't work.
>>24003899http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N38oSFwlYhE The design is from 1935.
>>24003894>.Let's concentrate on actually winning the war, preferably in '41-'42In west europe and africa. Possibly then helping our Japanese allies in China, or seeing if their oriental fantasy gate is going well
>>24003753Mining mithril and sending the raw stuff back to Germany should be our number 1 priority right now! >Assuming mithril works in our world like it does in fantasiland.
>>24003935Send a sample back ASAP. Also, weak magic items of various types.
>>24003894>>24003911Let's hope it goes that way, we win England and Europe is in our grasp. Japan focuses on winning China and we help them. Then we can both target the true red menace together. and unite the eastern hemisphere (more or less).
>>24003911http://www.mayofamily.com/RLM/txt_Clarke_Superiority.html A quick reminder, to myself as well as to my fellow questers, to not go Wunderwaffen crazy.
>>24003971Agreed, once we know how valuable some fantasyland stuff is, we can go about exploiting the land for what we need.
>>24003971I support this plan of action, we need to know what works in our world before we drive towards it in fantasiland. Also, this thread has been archived, vote it up Herr Reich Citizens!
>>24003981We've got a lot more to do if we want to win England and Afirca. We'll need to carry out operation Felix and control Gibraltar, subsequently help the Italians take and hold the mediteranean.Thankfully, the Italians are somewhat competent in this timeline.
>>24004067>Thankfully, the Italians are somewhat competent in this timeline. What have they done that we know about? I forget.
>>24004044One thing is crucial: We do not have penicillin/antibiotics. IRL this was a big advantage the Allies had.We must find Wands of Cure Wounds, and make them work on Earth, if it takes strapping a generator to them! Our medics will be unstoppable!>>24004080I'm italian.
>>24004080We've yet to hear bad news, and that's more than proof.
>>24004044I've done my part.Heil Hitler!
>>24004100It's possible that for morale reasons we may not be told everything.
>>24004121Please, about the italians, it'd be a waste of potential morale for us not to laugh at their monumental failures.
>>24004100umm, IRL Italy remained a non-belligerent until June 1940
>>24004205True. The problem we (italians) had in WW2 is that we were horribly unDERPrepared and Mussolini was being told what people thought he wanted to hear, rather than what was there, so we did a lot of strategically idiotic things.
>>24004080>>24004205I guess we'll have to wait and see then. Let's just hope Mithril or magic gives us the extra oomph in the war for now.
>>24004224If not, we still have a land to conquer -- it just means this new front will have to provide the Fatherland with oil and grain instead of shiny things.
>>24004224Who knows, we might be able to get Paris a few months before June of next year.
>>24003753>>24003742>>24003702>>24003672The OP of the previous thread put the date at 1939. November 5th. 7 AM. So yeah.
>>24004296So for now what's the plan?>>24004409Excellent. We can get a lot of stuff done before planting season.
>>24004432Set up mining, organise the workforce, Find out if Mithril does what we want it to, begin EFFICIENT GERMAN ENGINEERING.
>>24004432>>24003100This is the plan yes?Along with>getting Gabriel and Farnsworth to make that dictionary, and linguicists and teachers to perpare a school>Figure out how to reward (or if) to reward the loyal nobles>Send mithril back home to experiment>Still need the lighting rod test>Have a plan for aircraft>generally help however we can the Fatherland's blitz to paris and dunkirkI think that sums up everything in between then
>>24004480Sounds good to me.The loyal nobles are rewarded with being allowed to keep their stuff and partake in the prosperity which we will bring. Our strategy depends on mithril and magic items working on Earth a lot.jokes aside, if magic items can be imported on earth and there's mithril to be dug here in decent quantities, we should fortify this area and become a trading power for a while. I suspect making this foothold into a city-state will be just as hard as BLITZKRIEG.Of course, the Reich needs a seaport in these lands. Let's see where we can go get one.
>>24004528Aircraft can for now, we need more troops.
>>24004480you forgot flirting with Gabriel
>>24004555>you forgot flirting with Gabriellayes this is an important part of learning the local languages, we must be able to flirt in their tongue
>>24004580Wait, isn't Gabriella one of our scientists?I forget.
>>24004580We must learn their language. But all the new construction, development, technology, chemistry -- shall be in German. In a generation even our enemies will have to speak our language if they are to compete economically.
>>24004599She is.And I'd be more interested in playing the local field....In seriousness, we must talk to the local madams/pimps.
you know, having us(our little chunk of germany) has a lot of strategic implications. If the main army falters and the allys look to be winning the best and brightest of germanys might can retreat to the fantasy world and consolidate their strength. Then provided the ally's remain ignorant of the gate germany can prepare a devastating counter offensive at their whim provided the gate is properly powered.
>>24004641Gate doesn't have enough bandwidth for a realistic strategic retreat, unfortunately.
>>24004641Relax, the war against the allies goes well and I don't expect an easy defeat if at all. We're winning the atlantic, which is a good sign. And we're going to conquer europe before fucking with Russia, just like the Japs are going to finish China first.
>>24004641http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9znvFMfJBU It has the bandwidth for a followup Nazis FROM fantasyland quest later though.
>>24004675Not to mention we're going to help them win China after europe and africa.Maybe push into the middle east and meet them somewhere in the middle like anon said earlier. Or realistically just send them supplies.
>>24004657OP says provided enough power it can run indeffinately.Killing a heap of people near by can power it. If say a death camp were relocated to sufficiently close to the gate then the slaughter could allow for mass transit.
>>24004738It wasn't really killing more than it was Siegfried absorbing the lighting attack of the two mages.
>>24004738Meep. This... worryingly... makes wholesale POW slaughter have a valid pragmatic reason.
Remember how each OP post was a month and now a whole day took two threads?
>>24004760We won't have to slaughter POW's, they'll join the penal forces.Untermensch on the otherhand are in endless supply, here and on earth. But yeah that probably wasn't the reason, it was electricity >>24004753
>>24004767This was a VERY busy day. Also, it took as awhile to agree that we hold of the eugenics program for now.
>>24004721Germany in China is going to be weird as fuck. We're going to need a bigger gebirgsjager corps.Or tell Hitler to stop being a cocknob and allow large-scale Fallschirmjager drops again. And make the HG Fallschirmpanzerdivision an actual Airdroppable panzer division. Glider-deployed PzIIIs anyone?
>>24004782>>24004806I still say that just wands of Cure Light Wounds, or equivalent, would revolutionize infantry warfare.>>24004821http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_A-40 ? or a normal glider?
>>24004806For now...On the matter if death camps though, when the Holocaust gets underway in Germany proper, we should tell them to locate the camps near the portal. We never did work out if it was mass killing or the electrify trick that worked wonders on the portal.
>>24004883Agreed.Like others have said now is not the time, but we will need to cleanse this land of life unworthy of life eventually.
>>24004883It was the death, not the electricity. the juice was adsorbed via platinum.
>>24004883We should experiment with that. And by experiment I mean that the next asshole who gets a deserved death sentence will get it near the portal, not that we're killing some random person.
>>24004837I meant more like the Tetrarch Light tanks the British deployed via Hamilcar Glider. But instead of a questionably-useful 7t tank, we deploy very useful PzIII Ns via Me321 Gigant gliders.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Me_321
>>24004935No, siegfried absorbed it remember?
>>24004937It'll take more than one person probably. After the next battle we have, we should 'liberate' the prisoners of their earthly worries near the portal and see what happens.
>>24004959yes, and he used a platinum chain to do so. Thats what I was refering to.
