You command the Third Attack Wing, a mixed unit of fast hard hitting Cruisers, Frigates and Corvettes.Last time you, along with Mike's 6th Squadron, finished up the diplomatic mission to the Free Planets League. Ambassador Chide Dlam'ard chose to stay behind and assist with upcoming talks while you returned to base. On the way back you found out Commander Winifred was more than prepared should the mission have failed, having deployed both Attack Wings along with Light Cruisers and Battlecruisers to support her newly repaired command ship. With the attack called off all but a few ships were ordered to return to base. Training of the Wing has resumed with the hope of having all new pilots ready for combat before the planned upcoming offensive. Following some combat sims against 1st Wing (in which the bulk of your Wing kicked ass) Captain Saputo confided in you his plan to search for the long missing TCS Vieona. A Legendary ship last seen in the Faction Wars four centuries ago, it crew were rumored to be immune to the effects of radiation poisoning caused by Veckron weaponry. With Commander Winifred's plan to steal weapons of that type captured by the Warlords Captain Saputo wants an ace card that will increase the survivability of the troops if they succeed.

Using the publicly available charts from the navigators guild you had Linda combine them with Kavarian sensor logs of the region acquired through Information brokers on Tourta. The two sources weren't enough however as due to heavy fighting in the wars the Kavarians had lost contact with many of their sensor stations. Turning to an alternate source you used a some of your rather large favour with the Rovinar to acquire copies of their charts and sensor logs of the region throughout history. With the now completed data Linda was able to determine a possible location of the missing ship. While the area of space is recovering from the subspace disturbances caused by the Terran super weapons in the war it isn't there yet. Bringing in too many ships could potentially reverse this recovery or worse, tear a rift between reality and subspace. Taking in only one ship, your Wing's Blackbird, the crew were able to locate what they believe to be the Vieona. Unfortunately you lacked the means of reaching the ship buried as it was in an inaccessible layer of subspace. You are now attempting to recover another of the many ghost ships that have begun appearing in recent years. A sleeper ship left by the Factions Alliance supposedly to help deal with external threats. Captain Saputo believes they may have been left to keep watch for the Vieona and some day recover it but admits it may be merely speculation.
You get suited up an head to the launch bay. You have no idea how but Saputo has made it there ahead of you, already wearing his own set of power armor."I'll hang back with a team and let you do some sneaking around. Odds are any internal sensors would detect my suit long before we could reach an important section."The Blackbird parks near the Light Cruiser giving the shuttles a shorter flight."We're going in through the Parade bridge." You tell the shuttle pilots who change course, coming in to dock with the bow of the ship. There's visually little difference between this Light Cruiser and those used by most Houses, except there is far less in the way of hull paint and it lacks any ornamentation around the parade bridge."Are we sure that this is a Terran built model?""Definitely." Confirms Saputo. "The modular armor system is different around the cannons. It's harder to crack open Dominion ones with Torpedoes but the Terrans is slightly faster to swap out. Or it used to be, the repair technology has reached the point where it makes little difference these days."The Marines activate the hull cutters and within seconds have bored through a section of the protective blast shutters in front of the viewports. Once that's done they pull back the metal core and create an atmospheric soft seal around the hole before cutting through the viewport. Depressurizing the parade bridge would likely cause just as much of an alarm as opening one of the airlock doors."We're through." reports one of the engineers.
You have 2 spare holographic camouflage emitters capable of concealing a soldier, one of which is of lower quality. The lower quality device can only remain active for 3 hours. You do not have sound dampening systems to go with either of your spare camo emitters. Your bodyguard Valeri is currently wearing power cell armour, while Sergeant Major Ecord is in his usual suit of Jump Jet armor. The remainder of your heavy strike team are all available as are the rest of your regular Marines. Captain Saputo is waiting aboard another shuttle wearing his own suit of armor with another team of Marines. His team will come aboard once you're certain the security system wont be triggered accidentally.Who will be accompanying you aboard?
>>23771849Take our bodyguard and Ecord, along with our heavy strike team.
>>23771849I'd say we get an Intrusion specialist and a Medic [do we have power-cell ones?] equipped with the holo cam. They can follow behind us while the proper recon armor scouts ahead. It will cover us if we need to disable anything or if we need to revive crew. [or if the captain revives when we're detected]Intrusion may be a bad idea, though. It could activate defenses or something...
>>23772010>[do we have power-cell ones?]Yes. >Intrusion may be a bad idea, though. It could activate defenses or something...I suppose you could intentionally try to wake up the crew. A few people wanted to "try and get aboard without setting off the alarm."
>>23772105We aren't doing anything illegal are we? Why would we be afraid of that?
>>23772158The Terrans not giving us their ship? Losing more time than we can afford?
>>23772158because we are doing something illegal? The terrans won't exactly be happy if we manage to abscond with their superweapon.
>>23772158I am concerned that the crew might not be cooperative if we just ask them to help us undermine what we suspect is their primary mission, for which they've been in stasis for centuries.I guess we could ask one of them and see what kind of reaction we get before we defrost them all.
>>23772158Technically speaking according to treaty if there is still a crew on board the ship you can't claim it as salvage. It belongs to the previous owners or the crew aboard. Less reputable salvage companies will sometimes space remaining crew so they can take the ship.>Trying to secure a ship once belonging to a multi-Faction Alliance in the hopes of using it to get hold of one of the most powerful starships in recorded history. I don't think legality is the part you need to be worried about.
Was hoping to at least make it onto the ship before needing a survey. How big of a team are you taking aboard?http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/K8HMXVD

Rolled 57The engineers slowly and carefully retract the section of armored viewport they've cut through. Normally they would have just tossed it aside and allowed the marines to blast through to storm the interior but that's not the objective here. One of the marines hands you a hacking module then a small datapad."Sir, the hacking modules have been reconfigured to work better on ships of this type but they may take a bit longer than you're used to. Just get to the bridge controls. This other datapad has been modified to plug into the controls for ship interior doors. It will lock them out of the ship's security system and fool it with a repeating data loop so you can open them.""Good to know."You have one of the intrusion experts take one of the backup sets of camo and Ecord takes the other."My first aid is good enough sir, besides I'd rather not have the medics so far out front where they'll risk taking fire, camo or no."You reluctantly agree and tell everyone to stay behind you, taking point to check for anything dangerous. On entering the parade bridge you notice that the atmospheric controls must be set at a lower temperature because its nearly freezing. That or it's set to conserve power. Looking around your suit immediately detects the location of some old style motion trackers. Both your teammates enter the bridge without being detected by them and soon sensors are disabled. "Our suits will give off heat slowly but it will be measurable if we sit here too long. I'll have to make a conscious effort to keep the thrusters on my suit cold." States Ecord. "It's a cheap but effective method for adding a layer of security."You test out the door opener and head into the ship, the others staying a good distance behind you, but close enough to be reached in an emergency.Roll 1d100 for random encounter.

Rolled 33http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0x9YlsfpmYWalking through the ship you make your way towards the mid sections where the main bridge should be. Far enough ahead of the engines that an explosion wouldn't damage it but as deep within the hull as possible. You're glad this ship isn't one of those weird versions where the forward section is actually a Frigate that can detach once the drives have been hit. Bypassing the lifts to get down to the level you need is easy enough, but takes times as some of the vertical shafts have been sealed. It's more than an hour before you start getting close to the main bridge where you begin to encounter more sealed doors."This is not looking good. We'll be wandering around in a maze at the rate we're going." Says Ecord. The intrusion expert checks more of the doors and finds that there's no way to force them. "We'll just have to keep looking sir."You begin to pass by stasis cylinders built into the walls. The crew seems to be from each of the major Factions like on the Endeavour but not like on Cascading Fury where it was largely Hune. Names stenciled on the casings can be made out some of them but you don't recognise any. Wait. You back up, and find a Norune in one of them. You hadn't encountered any of them on the other ships. You call up the intrusion expert wanting to make sure entering the bridge is done right. It takes a minute and you all stand clear of the doors. A rush of warmer air rolls into the corridor."Shit." You charge through and do a quick sweep of the bridge, spotting a stasis cylinder off to the side with a red blinking light on it."Alert, temperature and pressure change detected." announces the ships computer. You set your phase rifle to stun and take aim as the cylinder opens. Out of it steps what appears to be a human male with large grey patches covering much of the face and forehead. You agree with some minor modifications to the planned crew allotment and soon you give the Heavy strike team the all clear to board the ship. You want them near the bridge in case the entire situation goes to hell. It takes four hours to revive the crew, do a check of the ship systems and set course for Cascading Fury. The much larger ship meets you in deep space and begins to send shuttles over.Kavos, Linda and the bulk of the marines transfer over to the Light Cruiser while some of the Factions Alliance crew disembark. An older man wearing the duty uniform of a Terran Marines Colonel walks into the bridge."This is my first officer Colonel Azevedo." Says the Captain to you. "He's a skilled helmsman among other things.""Recon armor." The Colonel nods approvingly at your attire. "Glad they finally got them into mass production. We were lucky if we could get hold of one set for every battlegroup. Don't get me wrong, the jumpjet suits were nice but the boosters were always too bulky.""Good to meet you." You turn back to the Captain. "You never did tell me your name." "You wouldn't be able to comprehend it unfortunately. My cover name was that of another Captain from Rio colony. That of the Colonel's former commanding officer Captain Murilo."Azevedo makes his displeasure evident. "The old man was twenty years older than I am now when he passed, you look even younger than I do. It was a bad cover story.""But still a plausible one since his identity was protected due to his history with special forces.">When did they enter statis, what did he before that happened, and where was he stationed?"January 3622 by your calendar. Their city ships are protected by vast long range cloaking shields within their territory. In many cases they shape the fields to give the appearance of beautiful cloudscapes and nebulae, stretching for millions of kilometers. Then one of your ships dissapears within and is never seen again."The captain lowers his voice and leans closer. "Perhaps I shouldn't tell you this but it's said... they can read minds."You take a step back."Please stop scaring the officers with ghost stories." Says Azevedo as though he's had to say it one hundred times before. "Even if they're not our officers. Its bad for crew morale."You hear a ghostly sound coming from the operations console but your suit systems detect that its just the captain throwing his voice."Sir." >>23780815The plan was to give them the coordinates of the K-Type so they'd start firing up their drives to head in that direction, then shoot them in the back.
>>23780309no we cannotHow'd those guys pick up the signal? did any of the ships we have near the edges of the Vorped (Vieona Dwarf Galaxy)space pick that up? Speaking of which, how far are we from those ships?>Crew transfers finished the now three ships head back out into deep space, you and Linda direct the Light cruiser towards the edge of the dwarf galaxy where Vieona is located.
>How'd those guys pick up the signal?Your Blackbird used an active deep sensor scan with its systems cranked up well beyond safe levels. >did any of the ships we have near the edges of the Vorped (Vieona Dwarf Galaxy)space pick that up?Yes, though at longer distances you would need to be looking for it.>Was another close vote. You give the coordinates and vector of the outbound K-Type to the coms officer to transmit."I'm inclined to shoot them in the back once they're far enough away... but they might have time to come about and fire torpedoes of their own." You tell the Captain. The Krath admits to similar feelings. "If they make the wrong move in the slightest I would order them destroyed but it would appear that's unnecessary."Sure enough the ship begins to move off. Everyone watches for any sign the ship is about to turn back but it keeps on the move.
The coms officer speaks up again. "Sir, we're receiving a priority transmission. It's being routed to us via Captain Reynard's Blackbird at the edge of the hazard zone."You use a screen at one of the other stations on the bridge to take the call. "This is Reynard, go ahead.""Reynard, is this channel secure?" Asks Commander Winifred. You give the code word that no it isn't and you plug your suit into one of the consoles. Switching the transmission over to encrypted mode the signal will still be routed through the ship but it might buy you a few hours before they can decrypt it. Your suit already has the decryption algorithms."Go ahead sir.""TCS Trident departed from the local nav station fourty five minutes ago. They were last sighted headed towards the position of Cascading Fury at maximum jump speed. It is believed she just took aboard a new shipment of SP torpedoes. >>23784937Seems like we'll have to sneak away in subspace :D
>>23784937Was this a Wat Do?
>>23784937Welp, seems our plan to pull Vieona out and keep it in the same place while we bargain for a price on her location is not going to work with Terrans sniffing around. They will probably shoot us if they see her.So we need either to haul it quickly somewhere( is it possible?). Or leave it in subspace, hide the sleeper ship and it's crew and lay low until Terrans leave. But i guess we don't have time for that. Also what are we going to do with the sleeper ship crew once they see Vieona? Give them a share?
>>23785491>Give them a share?I think we can afford to be generous.
>>23784937Damn, we should probably have asked Cascading Fury to keep quiet about this.
>>23785491Unfortunately, I'm starting to think we're just going to have to declare it to -everyone- that we've found Vieona, or risk the Terrans trying to gunboat us.We have the Blackbird prepare the message saying we've found it, crediting Saputo as the main claimant, with Sonia, Linda, Ekard and the Sleeper ship's command crew as secondaries, plus everyone with us. "and crew".That way everyone gets some credit, but most will be named specifically later [possibly protecting them for the time being], and when the Blackbird transmits it, they transmit it to -every- Faction. Commander Winnifred, fellow Houses, Ruling House, Cascading Fury, Rovinar, Terrans, Krath. If we try to keep it a secret, we give the Terrans the option to jam our communications and ghost us in a V-torp rift. Blow the story wide open and get it out that the Terrans are at the very least in our debt and that we first sent rescue teams over? They can't touch us for now.The most important part is that we need to have the Blackbird ready to send that as soon as we pop the ship out of subspace. If it isn't Vieona? They don't send it and we rescue a sleeper. If we do? Shine a spotlight so bright their blackops have their camo systems overloaded.and bump
>>23788586Commander Winifred should be main claimant, or even a House of Jerik-Dremine, i don't think Vieona claim is a bit that we can chew. Also broadcasting that to every faction like that could still be dangerous, some could try to take it by force still.
>>23788586Let's prepare to send a message in 10 hours, and see what state the ship is in, and if we can manage to enter the ship before that.
>>23789234Sorry, I was specifying a "Finder's" claim. If there are living crew on the ship, we can't put a salvage claim on it, if I understand TSTG correctly. We may get something out of a claim of discovery, though clearly not the ship itself. As for other factions attempting to take it, there is a damned 'Terran' sleeper ship in the area. They will certainly detect the ship when we pop it out of subspace, and we're certain to awaken any crew left on the ship when we board it.
I can't wait til we find the holy grail of ghost ships with all kinds of rare and valuable technology and tell everyone that we were just sort of worried about our marines getting cooked by Veckron radiation and we heard they might have a solution. It's like searching for the city of Atlantis because you heard they have really cool pottery or something.
>>23789635>protection from Veckron radiation compared to really cool potteryVeckron torps have two downsides, the subspace damage they cause and the radiation that kills the crews. if you can fire the torps without killing your crews, you're more likely to consider using limited numbers of them, as you've eliminated one of their downsides.
>>23789766Right but we have no intention of possessing or launching them ourselves and we are from the Dominion where crews are expendable.
You contact the Blackbird and have them prepare a message that will be transmitted to Commander Winifred, Cascading Fury, the Terrans, the Rovinar and possibly the Ruling House. All you have to do is give the signal when or if the Vieona returns to real space. The crew of the light cruiser meanwhile have been quite busy replacing burned out parts and preparing to head into subspace after the Ghost ship you know must be here. It takes two hours, over the course of which the Red Star Attack Cruiser has moved off to a safe distance, well beyond effective weapons range. Murilo makes the announcement to the crew once everything is ready. "All hands prepare for subspace dive."All non essential systems are shut down and the modified drives systems are powered up. Down in engineering the crew activate the remainging systems that will drop the ship into a layer of subspace. With luck its the same region that the Vieona is in. All sensors go offline leaving you blind when it comes to ships in realspace. You wont be able to track the progress of the other ship.It takes several minutes to adjust the long range sensors to pick up other objects in this layer of reality. A contact shows up where predicted and the Colonel brings the ship in closer."We're almost there." Reports the operations officer.
>>23789258>>23789234>>23788586I would not do that.Seriously, If the Terrans want to keep that thing out of someone hands they will blow us up regardless, and simply tank that PR hit. Its not like they are famed for playing hardball or anything, when tech is in question.
As you draw closer sensors detects another faint signal."New contact... I think it's that attack cruiser! They're more than three AU away and it'll take them some time to get here." "How are we even moving?" You ask."We can put minimal power to the drive plates to move slowly. Space here operates differently. It's far more difficult to move.""Attempting to match fields to the target ship." announces the ship's navigator while Linda watches. The ghost ship begins to resolve into a more solid shape as the fields megin to match up. You can make out the outline of the ship which has a minimal side and forward profile, but is slightly wider than most other Terran Medium cruisers. The gently sloped armor sections remind you of the repulsor drives on the prototype Rovinar ship you fought back before the Smugglers Run.The ship's shape isn't lost on the others on the bridge."Th- that's the Vieona!" exclaims Colonel Azevedo.Captain Saputo chooses that moment to make an appearance. Striding onto the bridge in full armor, carrying a phase rifle in one hand and a Shallan Fusion gun in the other."Any House personnel not in power armor clear the bridge." he orders. Linda scrambles out of the chair she was sitting in and sprints for the doors while Kavos calmly but quickly walks out.The bridge crew raise their hands from the controls."That's a really big gun. Compensating sir knight?" mutters the Colonel. "I cant help but notice this seems familiar." Murilo says while turning to you.[ ] Stun them[ ] "You can have Vieona later. You apologize for having to put them at gunpoint again. "I'd hoped to be a bit more polite than the Terrans generally are with such situations. Obviously with a Krath shape shifter and others from special forces my superior wanted to take precautions. We're not taking Vieona. We need a look at something because of what the Pirates have.""And the Pirates have?" "Veckron torpedoes. Ask the Rovinar later, it was their screw up. Can we agree that no one needs to be harmed? If you feel obliged to do something stupid or have men you feel will, we'd prefer to stun them for the good of all."The sensors officer looks at her display screens. "Increased drive flare from the attack cruiser. They're trying to close on us faster."Murilo does a passable impression of a sigh of annoyance. "We don't have time for this nonsense it would seem. Colonel, once we're docked go with their Marine force and assist with getting aboard the ship. I will accompany the Knights. If that's satisfactory?""Better with us than elsewhere." You tell Saputo over the helmet com."True, but I don't want him to slow us down." The other Knight tells you. "We leave some Marines to guard him at the first sign of him giving us trouble."
The Vieona is a nice looking ship but it's clear she's had better days. Her drive plates have been blown off and there is serious hull damage. A mark across her ventral hull is about the right length for an attack cruiser to have rammed her. It was enough to penetrate the armor but still doesn't appear to have reached the core of the ship. Some of the damage seems to have been partially repaired.Finding a place to dock the two ships together is difficult both because of the damage and the unfamiliar layout."Couldn't we use a shuttle? We're still inside the bubble shared by both ships.""The radiation is still heavy. Not all sections of a shuttle might survive it." Points out the sensors officer.Once docked everyone suits up and heads to the connection point. Murilo tries to open the doors but fails."Access denied." responds the computer."It must have scanned me and realised I wasn't human. Colonel?"The human officer is able to open the doors into the ship interior and you head aboard. "First time having that security clearance actually payed off. Most of the time I'm being told I'm overqualified and should transfer to a dark corner of special forces."The corridor you find yourself in is braced with impressive amounts of structural reinforcement and is large and wide enough to easily move spare parts around the ship with small support vehicles. Atmospheric levels are minimal but the Krath doesn't appear to mind wearing little more than a duty uniform.
>>23792676Krath seem like pretty cool guys.
"I thought you guys still needed air?" You ask, but he largely ignores the comment, directing the group towards a side coridor with an alcove. Azevedo is able to call up a map of the ship showing where you are and the location of some systems. Blocks of the ship are lit up in red indicating damaged or depressurized sections."We'll need to decided on what is the priority." declares the shape shifter. "Returning the ship to real space, waking the crew, getting the defensive systems operational, or your mystery objective. I doubt the crew would appreciate you being here to steal equipment. I suspect you'll want to acquire it before they're rivived. Then again that attack ship is closing on our position and the Vieona is not small. It will take time to search. Obviously I support waking the crew.""I only have the location of main engineering with my clearance." Says the Colonel. "I can't confirm where the bridge is, or even where the launchers are, though even front line troops in my day knew where those were." Saputo opens a private channel to you, his Marine sergeant and Ecord. "What we're looking for is most likely in one of the medical bays, near the launchers or the main torpedo magazine if there is one. If you see anything that could be a likely candidate steal anything not nailed down.">Have wonderful model of the ship made up. >Can never find it when needed. I think we should split into two teams to accomplish both objectives simultaneously, with us searching for the quest item. After one or both objectives are accomplished, we can see about returning to realspace. If necessary, we may wake the crew for assistance, but I hope we won't need to.For party, I think we should only take a couple of marines with us.
>>23793928I forgot to mention I suggest going to the medical bays first.
>>23793779The crew can likely get the weapons and shields going faster than we can.First priority is Quest item and I think the most likely location is the Medical bays. After that we can wake the crew and they can help us get weapons and shields online and back into realspace.
>>23793779Time to split the party.I'm going to say 4 groups: Sonia's, Saputo's, Saputo's Sgt, Ecord.Sonia, the Krath Captain, Bodyguard, and a medic should seek the ship's bridge. We'll need it to defend the ship if that Attack Cruiser is hostile, and we may have to revive the ship's captain anyway.Saputo and his Sgt's teams should go for the Primary magazine and Medical bays, respectively.Ecord's group should seek Engineering. Our first goals are the Quest item and being able to fend off that attack cruiser, if it is hostile. Reverting to realspace is a bad idea, as it will allow that incoming Terran cruiser to interact with us.[x] "Colonel, what are the chances of that attack cruiser being pirate controlled as opposed to a Terran black ops ship that will want to kill everyone to preserve this ship's existence?"

Huh. People wanting to wake up the crew. Surprised.>Duct-tape some torpedo drives to the light cruiser for a one-shot dodge maneuver. That's essentially what early emergency thrusters were. The Newport fleet systems guys ripped some thrusters out of a failed heavy torpedo production line and modded them to expend nearly all of their fuel in one burst.

I'm really sorry guys I have to step out for a bit.
Rolled 3>Apparently "a bit" is forever and a half. The group splits up. The bulk of the force will try to wake the crew and will be lead by the Colonel. Ecord will be keeping an eye on him as will a good number of the marines. You, Captain Saputo, and Murilo will go with the remainder to check the medbays. The Krath were not on the most stable of terms with the Terran Alliance at the time of the Wars, despite normally having a solid alliance with the Rovinar. The last thing anyone wants is for the first few people to be revived figuring out there's a Krath onboard. The nearest medbay isn't that far. There's a few stasis cylinders inside with medical staff that have been put under. An indicator on a display lights up as you step near it, showing that the spare stasis systems normally reserved for use in the attached morgue are being used for the storage of wounded. "Interesting." Murilo pulls up some data from the medical systems. "I've found a short log entry that damage was too severe to be repaired with the resources on hand without risking life support failure. They were crippled in a skirmish and as more ships began searching for them, could have been discovered had they not hidden it in subspace as they did.""The Vieona was already a legend within weeks of her completion." States the older knight. "What was she hit by?"The Krath points to the tube with the highest ranking medical officer inside. "He thinks a torpedo detonated early when they were performing a close pass and the blast disabled them. That or the K-Types trying to ram them succeeded." You state. One of the Marine specialists moves up and sets the stasis cylinder revive its occupant. A human looking to be in his early forties wakes and is soon on his feet holding his head. "You know, they need a warning on these contraptions that you need to give a hangover cure time to kick in before you go to sleep."He looks up at the mismatched sets of power armor and Murilo in his duty uniform. Rolled 4 + 2You move out while the Captain orders a pair of Marines to wait behind and keep an eye on the doctor. Heading forward through the ship your group starts to head closer to the deeper central sections that should get you to the bow faster. The outer sections being riddled with holes in the armor it would take too long to navigate the sealed off sections. Its fairly easy to tell when you've entered the higher security areas as a sentry gun drops down from the ceiling and opens fire. "Cover!" Everyone dives down side corridors or takes cover in doorways. Some of the heavy marines take minor hits to their armor before they can get out of the way. You do a weapons check and prepare to activate you camo when a Marine asks for squadmates to cover him. Two of them draw fire by shooting around corners with phase rifles long enough for the first to step out and nail the turret with an launched grenade."Those turrets are likely to impede our progress." states Murilo as everyone steps back into the hallway. He pulls out a communicator "Colonel, when could you convince any crew you've revived to shut down parts of the security system?""It would have to be done from the bridge. We're concentrating on reviving enough of the engineering crew that they can wake up everyone else on the ship from here. Give us an hour.""Or I can take care of it." You state, pulling out your pistol before activating the camo.Charging ahead you keep moving as fast as the hallways will allow. Some of the powerful active sensors on the turrets are capable of penetrating your cloak but by the time they lock on you've already fired off a shot from your plasma pistol. Those that lacking sensors upgrades you destroy or disable with your HF blade. By the time you've made it to the sealed off forward section you've blown through sixteen turrets. Seventeen total if counting the Marine's kill.
>>23798277>Some of the powerful active sensors on the turrets are capable of penetrating your cloakI assume that these aren't commonly available even now, 400 years after this ship slipped away. Could we find an intact sensor module and take it with us?
You have 5 shots remaining for your plasma pistol. While it's a bit bulky and heavy compared to most pistol class weapons with its front power cell and the fuel cell on the back, its still works much better as a one handed weapon than the Fusion Gun.With the way cleared -as evidenced by the line of destroyed turrets- it doesn't take long for the others to catch up. >Could we find an intact sensor module and take it with us?Opening the small padded equipment satchel you brought along for hauling loot you put in one of the sensors from a turret you cut open with your melee weapon. You hope it doesn't get damaged by the sturdy bottle sitting next to it. When the others arrive the specialist on hand works to get the door open to the next area. It proves easy enough thankfully due to the Factions Alliance personnel with you having some older codes. "This is a highest level security area." Warns the Krath Captain."What was the area we just passed through?" Inquires Saputo, keeping his weapon at the ready."That was merely restricted."Finding the closest medbay with it doors locked down hard, the Marines cut through. Saputo draws and fires his phase rifle, striking the larger barrel on the turret several times, and knocking it out of alignment long enough for you to plug it with shot from your pistol. The turret erupts in a much larger fireball than the others did, pelting both of you with shrapnel but its nothing your suits cant handle. Both of you carefully step through the doorway checking for more traps or defenses. The interior of the bay didn't take the damage quite as well as your armor did. Fire suppression systems get things under control quickly enough but much of the smaller medical equipment is damaged. You're certain it can all be fixed though."Five medics and one doctor in stasis." Reports a specialist after doing a check of the bay. One thing this place also has are an odd set of tubes. "Oh wow, pneumatic tubes!" exclaims one of the Medics.Opening the delivery container he pulls out an injector. It looks like an average jet injector hypospray just not built in a gun configuration. The entire thing is marked with hazard and warning symbols and a quick sensor scan reveals odd readings."Whatever is in here is bouncing back as much energy as the scan is putting into it." Says one of the specialists worriedly. "I think we hit the jackpot Reynard. We'll have to find out if there's a catch to using them though."Six injectors in total have survived the blaze while a few others have been fused shut."This delivery tube system could lead back to a storage area providing it hasn't been damaged elsewhere." One thing we should remember, is to get to the torp launch room and launch some vectron torps without turning on their engines, just dumping them in real space, so that a shuttle of ours can pick them up.Seriously, getting two of them for R&D some 10 years in the future would be another godsent for our ascent to great house, and our design to become the armoury of the Dominion.

Testing?...2 of you rolled a pair of d100's instead of a single one. Still you'll be getting that 75.>>23800143>One thing we should remember, is to get to the torp launch room and launch some vectron torps without turning on their engines, just dumping them in real space, so that a shuttle of ours can pick them up.Assuming there are no safety systems preventing you from doing this you would need to first need to get the ship back into real space before launching. You dont know if tossing items outside the drive field would bring them back to realspace or just expose them to whatever is in this layer of reality.>You might not need eyes etc>Also, attempt to search any computers in the medbay for data on administering the substance/side effects if there is an identifying name. The computer interface is damaged but can be repaired. >>23804869>The computer interface is damaged but can be repaired. It will take close to a half hour though. Or you can try waking up and interrogating one of the medical personnel.why not both? though we must trust the computer more.
>>23807079Yeah, i'd support that. Also, send two of our own marines with the substance we have back to the ship. In case we take too long and the crew of the ship makes trouble we would have at least something.
>>23807126>send two of our own marines with the substance we have back to the ship.A pair of the Marines get ready for a run back to the ship, making sure the injectors are secured for transport.Meanwhile the tech specialists get to work on the damaged console, pulling apart and cutting away damaged sections. In the time it will take them to fix it and check the available data you might be able to get some information out of one of the doctors. Even as the highest ranked one is being brought out of it Saputo is skeptical about the information you'll be able to retrieve. "We don't have time for a full interrogation and none of my marines are well versed enough to chemically induce them to be cooperative."Murilo speaks up. "I have a suggestion.""Go ahead?""If the doctor fails to cooperate within your time limit I'm reasonably confident I could... extract the information. It may cause brain damage however. I'm not against the Krath getting the info, and we should share the tech with his people regardless. It will be some measure of an apology for our actions.
Rolled 35, 84 = 119>>23809736Let's not have the Krath do the mind-meld thingy. Now be sure to stress the importance of the pirate capture of the Vecktron Torpedoes. >>23810447I agree, the Krath seem like pretty cool guys all around.
Rolled 6You start by asking the doctor some simple questions, name rank, what was happening before the crew went into stasis. She identifies herself as Gail Chapman and the rest matches up with what you've heard from the others. Then you get to the real question about the injectors. "That's classified. I have to be given permission by the ship's Captain in order to brief anyone.">Make sure to explain the pirates have V-Torps now as well."Then shouldn't you be helping us get the ship operational as fast as you can rather than wasting time questioning me?""Reynard, we're running out of time. >>23810487Good cop, I guess.
>>23810487Good copThe thing is... we'll help the bad cop if she wants to do it the hard way. Our people are worth more than she is, despite our desire to see everyone make it through this.Stasis can go horribly wrong, I hear.

You have information that will likely save the lives of men and women under my command, and I've had enough encounters with Terrans to know that your command won't give the information. The way things are now, I can get the information from you and no one needs to know I didn't steal it.My desire to see everyone here safely through this does not win over my desire to ensure the soldiers under my command aren't sent on a suicide mission if the Pirates decide to fire V-torps while we try to secure them. "We're running out of time, there's a pirate vessel closing the distance now. You'll find my reasons are slightly less altruistic than Captain Reynard's and I'm prepared to use any methods."He turns towards Murilo. "Like a Krath neural probe.""That's an urban ledgend." states the Doctor, frowning at the other two like they were school children trying to get away with a lie.The Krath captain raises a fingertip which splits into thousands of impossibly thin strands.Dr Chapman goes pales and swallows hard."Okay, stop, that's not going to be necessary." You tell the others.Eventually the Doctor tells you that certain chemicals are needed to help quickly spread the contents of the injector through the bloodstream of a human. The downside is that they're rather poisonous but can still be safely countered if constantly monitored by a medical system.
>>23811840>The Krath captain raises a fingertip which splits into thousands of impossibly thin strands. The Krath must have won some sort of biological lottery. Either that, or they were engineered/have engineered themselves.
>>23811840If possible we really need to keep in contact with Captain Murilo after this as I'm starting to like these Krath fellows.
>>23811840We're going to need some of those chemicals. And one of those medical systems.Either way time to shift priorities to getting ready to kill some pirates.

>>23812143Or we could just like apologize and move on with our list of objectives.

>>23812227Thirded.It's pretty bad practice to treat people who cooperate that way.
>>23812227>>23812199The idea is to hide how we got the information, in the event the Terrans don't want to share. Better to have evidence that we stole it than that someone gave it to us. Keep up the image that we don't have our goal, hiding that we do in fact have it.
>>23812281I'd rather the Terrans know that we were after this stuff instead of them suspecting that we were after something more sensitive/dangerous
Captain Saputo still doesn't seem satisfied and wants proof."My power armor has a built in medical system. Administer it. Provided I survive you'll receive a good deal more than just an apology from me for your treatment." The Doctor gets the medbay's equipment operational again and prepares the first injection needed. The Captain takes back one of the hypos from the Marines before they depart."You know this will likely render you sterile right?" She warns him."Thank you for the concern doctor but I already have more than enough heirs." he replies. "What you may not have known is that some of your samples survived the war off of your ship, just no one knew how to produce them.""I was told the other stockpiles were destroyed before we evacuated the Centri cluster.""I assumed they were. The Kavarians sold one of the worlds they were on to a Dominion House in return for mercenaries. Salvage teams managed to find... something intact there and decided to test it."The doctor administers both injections a few seconds apart."The humans they used it on lived to the age of two hundred." Shock is evident on the Doctors face. "We knew there would be long term side effects but are you sure?" "Very. Enough that this ship became a Holy Grail Legend."
>>23812683......and we just hit the jackpot
>>23812683"Congratulations doctor, I think you've just become a very rich woman. Have you ever thought about lending your talent to a new, young, and enterprising company?"
While you've been busy one of the marines has taken communicator, stuffed it inside one of the now empty containers and placed it in the pneumatic tube for a return trip."I've set it to act as a transmitter sirs." Says the specialist before sending it on its way.The marines outside begin to report main power coming back online then the ship's intercom activates. "This is Chief Engineer Emir Llorenç to all hands, we are attempting to revive as much of the crew as possible. Priority is to help revive your fellow crewmen and to bring weapons and shields online. Please be advised that there are personnel from some of the other Factions on board trying to assist us. Encourage them to leave high security areas if possible. Restricted are fine for them at this point. If anyone near the bridge is awake get there as soon as you can. We need a sensor uplink established with the Light Cruiser docked with us."Not good."We need to find that storage area." Says your CO, and you both rush for the door. "Lets move! The internal radiation shielding might be heavy enough to block that transmitter if its far enough away. We need to find it fast."Some of the Marines stay behind at the medical bay both to guard the awake crew members and to finish repairs to the medical database for confirmation. You and the others lead a much reduced force aft. Following the delivery tubes proves quite easy as there is little change in their direction or location within the ceiling. You find the transmitter trapped in a mini airlock that passes through a transverse bulkhead. Metal and structural supports in the section on the other side of the bulkhead have suffered damage in battle but doesn't seem severe. While an annoyance it isn't too hard to figure out where the tube must have been headed. It does add more time though as the search has to be that much more thorough.
>>23812683"You've been holding out on me, Saputo."
>>23813061"You needed more incentive to find this ship? Besides we don't know if the Doctor was telling the truth or not yet. Pulling out additional gear a few of the others help ground the panel before begging the hack for real. "Talk about countermeasures. This is some of the heaviest encryption I've ever seen.""Can you breach it?" you ask. "Yeah our equipment was just upgraded."A metallic "ping" noise sounds from the door then it slides open revealing an large airlock. There's equipment racks lining the walls but they're easily overlooked with two suits of power armor present. One of the soldiers is just finishing locking down their helmet, the other is ready and takes aim with a large grenade launcher of a type you're not familiar with. A sentry gun with a twin Vulcan setup is also ready to add fire if or when needed."You're in the wrong neighborhood mothafucka." states the one armed with the grenade launcher.>Your orders?>Calling it here for tonight. It's likely they spotted our forces and saw how we "don't belong" then made their way here. The threat/insult is probably more of a reaction gauge.this was originally a very long post, until I realized most of it was superfluous - may not be as clear as I think it is now that I cut it down.
>>23813970Personally I think plunging our knife into his faceplate without warning and then activating camo would be much cooler.

Welcome...to the world of tomorrow!
>>23813849I think it would be best if we tried to avoid killing the crew members on the ship we are currently occupying otherwise I would just say cloak and stab them.We should try to negotiate before the open fire maybe open up with "I tryed to knock, but didn't get an answer"
>>23813849>>23820703"Look, we are about to head into a situation where the use of Veckron Torpedos might be nessisary to protect not only this ship and mine as well. Or something along those lines, though we should maybe get into cover while we tell them this.

Attacking before negotiating is a bad idea. They must of heard Chief Engineer announcement that there is other Factions friendlies on board, so the only reason they are aiming at is that we hacked the door. Though i hardly see them letting us into armory ether way, so it's a tricky situation.
