Vampire:Look like this (should anyway)
>>20513861you from last night or new? Just curiously.
>>20513840hey spriggan, this is that anon from last night, I think you did well for your first time, and I'd like to take the barred door and research some better tech if we can
The small Army approaches the door. Varien Commands the acid tearers to melt the door. The process takes a while to erode the metal, but eventually the ghouls are able to tear it off. Once inside, the lich examines the surroundings. A long wallway extends in front of them, and they follow it west for a short while. Suddenly, The Corridor Comes to a spiral Staircase. Strange clicking sounds can be heard from the depths, while the upper levels have a grim silence to them. What shall we do?
>>20513963go down, get us some scorpion undead!
>>20513909Thanks for name fagging yourself, and welcome back. I'll also be trying to give faster responses while in adventure mode.
Go down the stairs
>>20513984thanks alot for that, you aren't slow, but we're all just impatient assholes.
The small army descends the steps, Making an aweful lot of sound as the ghouls and horrors clack and stomp on the sandstone steps. The darkness seems to go on forever, but finally the stairwell is reached. The Careved halls abruptly turn into cave walls. The clacking sounnd grows louder, and faint chanting can be heard. How shall we procede? ( battle formations, strategies. etc.)
We should send are stealthy ghouls out and silently scout whats ahead and report back what they saw
>>20514039put the skeletal horrors up front to use as shock troops, put the ghouls on the sides to form a wedge shape. Have our lich in the middle, popping off as many spells as possible, and use the acid tearers to fill in gaps with liquid hate.
>>20514051or use ghouls to scout, we can do that too
Varien silently points out their formation. The archers form the rear, surrounded by a troop of kobolds. The ghouls form a tight wedge in front and beside the lich, while acid tearers are placed throughout the mass of undeath. A small scout troop consisting of 6 kobolds is sent ahead of the force as they cautiously make their way deeper into the cave. They follow the chanting noises. Varien signals his minions to halt, and they wait in silence for 4 minutes. 4 kobolds come rushing out of the blackness, causing the archers to nearly fire upon them. When they are questioned, They speak of a Ceremony in the blackness. Many voices could be heard, and the kobolds found the source of the clicks. A mechanism was being breached in an un-assuming section of the cavern. They were not able to get a good look at it though. Another piece of strange news is that they felt another scent in the cave... Something odd. How do we proceed?
>>20514171investigate the mechanism maybe so that we could see if they were releasing something evil, if we cannot investigate without conflict, kill them all and investigate their corpses
one archer should tie a touch to his arrow fire down the passage to illuminate the proceeding path
Varien grabs a torch being held by a ghoul. The dark lord lights an archers' arrow. The flaming projectile is then fired down one of the branching tunnels... It hits the ground and dowses itself. Another arrow is loosed down a differnet tunnel. 4 arrows yield few results before the fifth is fired. It whistles down a perpendicular tunnel and smacks into the back of a pale beings head. The creature lets out a cry of pain before slumping to the ground. The chanting ends, and white shapes begin pouring through the cave mouth. What shall we do?
>>20514339stay in formation and try to paralyze them with magic and take them all out, raise their corpses, and ask them what it is they were doing
>>20514368sam went to get food, so i'll write this one based on your stuff until he gets back. FEEL THE PRESSURE!
>>20514392oh my teeegeezus!!
How do you know how to run a game like this? Could you link me to the rules or something...?
>>20514392hey spriggan, I forgot to mention how I liked that you kind of moved the story forward when we were going to stagnate, not really railroading, but it was still a good feeling to have a direction.
The melee troops in front of Varien stand their ground as the waves of pale sprinters approach. When they ar in range, Varien calls for them to crouch. A volley of bone arrows flies into the enemy. The wounded creatures fall to the sides as their healthy brothers continue the charge. The acid teares sob and wail while Varien casts a banshee scream. All but a few of the front lines of attackers falls, demoralized. The skeletal horrors lead a counter charge of their own. The result is a bloodied pulp of bone and flesh. Nearly half of the pale creatures retreat to the mechanism, which is now in torchlight. The survivors seem to be gathered around a shaman of sorts. These creature stand shorter than a man, but taller than a kobold. They carry scythes and sickles, and wear armor of a light amber plate. The have two joints of their knees, large ears, long nose... but curiously. They do not seem to posess eyesight. The shaman has a crudely drawn eye on his forhead, far above where a normal eye would be. What are your commands?(I will go back to posting resources once we're out of adventure mode)
>>20514492There are no standard rules. Though you could look at some peoples personal rules. Like Angrydorf's
>>20514528Paralyzing the shaman of the first eye, and have the rest of the troops make a big noise while the quiet ghouls try to sneak up on the ratmen from the side in order to try to get a surprise attack, provided they don't smell them first, of course
Man ive been waitin for this thread to be posted :DIf this shaman/s have no eyesight there other senses must be higher than normal
>>20514509Thanks for the compliment. If I start doing something you find tedious or boring, just let me know. Then we might get around to those dancing colossal sea cucumbers.
>>20514578haha, those would be amazing to play, especially because I have a "slightly" underhanded plan to allow them to all get on land in a hurry
rolled 4, 3 = 7>>20514574Welcome back, me hardy! are you ready for some anal circumference rolls!?
rolled 3, 3 = 6>>20514585the more underhanded the better. If you guys can find some loophole in a trap i set, i'm not going to say that you walked right into another one i've conjured. Makes things more rewarding i find.
>>20514586I dunno, i may lurk they thread. Im also new to /tg/ and may lurk around
>>20514602I want to play some sort of rpg with you as GM, wait I am!
rolled 6, 6 = 12>>20514612You're welcome to vote and you're welcome to lurk. >Now can we get some Decisions on a course of action? They're not mindless slaves yet.
>>20514612well, you're welcome to play along, party on anon!
>>20514635try to kill off that shaman first, and then have the archers bombard, followed by having the army charging, have our lich kill the shaman first, and then go to rezzing the bodies, and interrogating them
>>20514528Use the necromancer scream if the shaman can't see then that should mess him up.
>>20514635The shaman is the prime target, i say used the ranged troops to try to take him/it out
rolled 2, 2 = 4The lines of undead reform, the pale ones make their final stand around the mechanism. Varien launches a Shadow bolt into one of the cowards chests. The being goes into a frenzy, hacking at his friends. Before he is felled, the sickle bearing pale one arcs his weapon into the shamans' neck. He gropes his next, before coughing up his lifeblood and crashing to the ground. The battle ends quickly. Barrages of arrows and an onslaught of kobolds make quick work of the weakened groups that remain. When the Battle is done, Varien Consumes the souls of the fallen. they rise before him and bow their mutilated bodies. The final army count after the battle is.... LOSSES: 5 skeletal horrors, 11 ghouls, and a single acid tearer .... GAINS: 37 pale zombies, bloodlet shaman.
rolled 2, 6 = 8(updated stats)population: 161(78 kobold zombies, 1 lich, 1 necromancer, 19 skeletal horrors, 15 blood archers, 12 acid teared hornmen, 16 ghouls, 1 sky reavers, 4 skeletal horses, 37 pale zombies, 1 bloodlet shaman.) >>20514706>>20514635>>20514641Well imma change my name, i may stay for a while, until i get tierd
examination of the mechanism would be ideal
>>20514781let's see about that mechanism and try to find a good use for those pale ones, right now, I'd task them with getting more food, with those sickles and all
>>20514781Just and idea, maybe the archers and or infrantry can mount the horses like mounted archers and knights
>>20514847sounds like a good idea, but I'd prefer to save them for our lich, necromancer, and new shaman, seeing as they are far less disposable that those other undead, though with more horses this becomes a sound idea.
>>20514781spriggan, we actually have 186 people and you're missing a sky reaver, unless we lost him due to other reasons
rolled 3, 5 = 8The Shaman is interrogated. It is hard to get the questions through becuase of his nearly deafened ears, but soon enough he gives the details on what transpired here before you arrived to cleanse him of life. "We were opening the tomb...To get.....our master... no,no,no. You're the master now! All hail!" The shaman is delerious from the effects of the dark magic, but he is still able to remember how to use the mechanism. It stands about 12 feet tall. A dark grey cylinder, with spiraling cogs going up it's sides in a double helix. Their chanting was the keyword to open this vualt of mystery, and even the shaman did not remember what was buried inside by his ancestors. The chant was "Valar morghulus."(that feel when you delete when you mean to copy and have to go back later and rewrite it.)
>>20514885Yeah that sounds better :D. I say we send out a small scout party to look for possiable caravans and other creatures we can turn to the side of the undead
rolled 6, 6 = 12>>20514913OH GAWD, mah maths! Thanks for telling me, idk how i messed that up.
>>20514922Are we still in adventure mode is so just dimiss my post >>20514921 l we are out of adventure mode
>>20514921that sucks to have to rewrite brotha, but let's see about getting bigger reinforcements from base camp, and then popping open that big ol' door, maybe have extra light in hopes of blindind the thing when it comes out
>>20514940you're managing a lot of stuff, it's no big deal really, addition's a bitch
rolled 3, 6 = 9>>20514963Ya, i just like to post the new unit numbers after and engagement, because undead have to track lost and gained units from every battle.
>>20514963And i switched the numbers around, BRAIN WHY U DO THIS. >>20514940 also try using the pale guys to be used in this Chant.
rolled 1, 3 = 4Varien floats back to the chasm, accompanied by a guard of ghouls. They return later with Tyrell, and an additional troop of kobolds. The necromancers apprentice has been busy on the surface it would seem. He has noticed scouts from nazzi scouring the desert. (the hornman city from last part) and the reavers have also a group of naga, slithering into the red wastes, They were seen to be carrying all their posessions and large glass bulbs of water. They are not in the direct path of the Chasm however. The winds are rising, and food is becoming an issue. A large crop of dusk wheat was planted in and around the chasm. These issues can wait though, as the undead begin the chant to open the vault.... The undead join in with the pale zombies, and the gears turn more rapidly. No progress shows immediatley, but after a few minutes of exertion the cylinder slides into the floor. A sarcophagus is in the chamber, a green scroll is lying atop it's cover. How shall we investigate? (civ mode resumes when we go back to the surface.)
>>20515122have the ghouls pick up the scroll and give it to the lich to read
Rape PILLAGE MURDER the nearest settlement
Have one of the kobolds grab the scroll. Once we know that it's trapped(it will be) we can get the scroll and GTFO of there
>>20515122ooo naga's. On the issue of the scroll , I say be cautious it could be a trap, send one of your loyal undead zambi to retreve the scroll.
rolled 3, 1 = 4A kobold is sent to take the scroll. as soon as he lays his little hand on it, the parchment explodes into a flury of mosquitos. They cover the kobold and attempt to feed. Tyrell steps forward and lights his minion aflame, Taking the mosquito swarm with it. A dark green posion seeps from the insects bodies, but they are attracted into the flame and die before causing further harm. The sarcophagus remains still. What now?
On the nagas, what kind of snake are they? Do they have different races like cobra and pythons?
>>20515249send another disposable kobold snack to knock on and then open the sarcophagus, and have everyone else brace for a fight with this "master"
Oh hey, Im back.Give me a second to get caught up.
>>20515249That doesnt sound good, what ever sealed this being up doesnt want it to be let out again. I say wait and try to learn of this sarcophagus and its background.
rolled 1, 3 = 4>>20515265The scouts could not identify, and these were a fairly small troop. Future sightings ill provide you with an answer.
rolled 4, 6 = 10>>20515273cool beans, i'll get started on the next segment.
rolled 3, 2 = 5Another kopbold zombie is sent forth to tap on the lid. There is only silence, and The necromancer and Lich watch with growing impatience. Two ghouls are ordered to unseal the sarcophagus. What formation should we take around the coffin? (the ghouls and kobolds indicate that there are no more traps outside the coffin.)
>>20515338How many troops do we have?
>>20515338Archers in the center, with a ring of horrors on the outside. Fill the gaps in the horrors with Kobolds, and have acid tears between the two rings. Zombies stand in front of everybody, closest to the coffin.
rolled 3, 1 = 4population: 185(77 kobold zombies, 1 lich, 1 necromancer, 19 skeletal horrors, 15 blood archers, 12 acid teared hornmen, 16 ghouls, 2 sky reavers, 4 skeletal horses, 37 pale zombies, 1 bloodlet shaman.) (I always forget to modify this, so yell at me if I do.)Food: Scarce (stable)Architecture: fine stone dwellings.Weapons&Armor: iron swords, iron armor, stingerstaff, black scale chestpiece, bone bows, bone arrows, steel spears, Shields.Tech: acid traps, bone traps.Defenses: spiked trident barrierNotable Individuals: Varien, Tyrell>>20515356There you go, me bucko! stats galore.
>>20515370And Shaman and Lich are with the Archers
>>20515338have the archers draw their bows back fully, make the bigger troops make a wall, but leave room for the necromancers to make some magic happen
Trying to be patient.
rolled 5, 6 = 11A perimeter is formed. Ghouls and skeletal horrors line the front, pressed closely around the coffin. Kobolds mass underfoot, while the archers and pale zombies are in the rear with the lich and shaman. Tyrells stands before the coffin, and he presses an iron sword in between the lid and the seal. A hissing noise escapes into the chamber. When the lid is pried open, a thick haze envelops the room. A voice comes from the darkness. It's tone is calm, but it echoes across the walls and comes scross as icily menacing. "Who has freed me from my own prison?" Tyrell is the first to answer, speaking into the dark fog. "It is I, old one. I give you two options. Serve the dark lord Varien or die and be risen." A harsh laugh echoes through the Cavern. "My, oh my.... Mortals are certainly less chilvalrous than i remember. I refuse your offer, whelp... But i do owe you Gift for freeing me." Suddenly, a dark shape lunges from the fog, clamping its teecth around Tyrells throat. He cries out, but soon his yelling is muffled. Varien Shouts a battle cry, his vile words of necromancy spreading the gas between him and his apprentice. He glimpses the pale ones master, just as he lowers Tyrelll to the ground. A torch is flung by a kobold standing at his feet, and the Smoky being is encased in flame. Maniacal laughter eminates from this vile tmb best, and he flies up to the roof of the cave, allowing himself to be seen. "CAN YOU BEST ME, PETTY DEATH DEALER?" (Time to prove what your made of guys, but dont worry. There'll be dice chanced loots afterwards!) ...should you survive.
rolled 2, 2 = 4>>20515537Sorry about that. i needed to make it sufficiently challenging.
>>20515537Lets hope he didnt fall asleep on his computer XD I kid, he is proballary writing the next thing and epic battle or maybe wating
>>20515592Oh boy, and so it is.Hmm. Perhaps use the skeletal horrors as a sort of mobile fortification. They have holes in them, so arrows can probably pass through them. Therefore, have archers use them as a barrier between themselves and the dark lord. Kobolds can just act as bait, running around in front, and bottling the acid from the guys in the back.. Lich stands in back with the acid guys, screaming if he gets too close. As the bottles fill with acid, pass them out to the kobolds to use if he swoops down.Or something like that.
>>20515570well, tyrell is obviously to be a vampire, I would have our lich cast a paralyzing gaze, have the archers fire, and focus on getting that shaman to invoke some sort of power that may kill this dark lord, other than that, Id have the ghouls work to surround him, while having the skeletal horrors clobber him
>>20515637I agree with Shaman working on something to kill him, but I like what I said.
rolled 1, 1 = 2>>20515627>>20515637>>20515650mmmmkay, i'll get to typefagging that up.
Are we a very fresh female lich that just became a lich a few seconds ago?
>>20515676Correction... Can I roleplay namefag as that concept?
rolled 1, 5 = 6>>20515676We've had a lich for about 15 months in game time....And it's a man with a penis. ENJOI!
rolled 4, 2 = 6>>20515691mmmmmmmmmno thanks, i don't want my nipples getting too hard.
>>20515699But two liches the merrier, right? You can't have enough liches. Especially with the rare female lich.
>>20515706Ill make your nipples hard regardless of how others act.
>>20515706when we get outta this, we better still have that shaman, I've got plans for him
>>20515822Do those plans involve nipples?
rolled 1, 3 = 4Varien calls his skeletal horrors back, and uses them to form cover for his arches. The "old master" Descends, wreathed in terrible flames. He begins to attack the pale ones who were once his minions. Varien grabs the shaman and commands him to attack. Together, they are able to wither down the old beings armor. It is mostly bone and ashe, with Giant spiked canine teeth. They are soaked in Tyrells blood, which is steaming off from the heat. The monsterous fire-lord turns its attention to the necromancer. Sensing the danger, Varien floats past his minions and hoists up the lid from the sarcophagus. the Flames stop just before the metal. The overlord of the underdark screeches in disgust. "Clever rat herder, aren't you?" The onslaught from the army is showing little effect. A ghoul rushes to his masters defense, only to be seared. Another comes up from behind and grabs hold of the lid. The ghoul marches forward and begins to slap the flame being's legs. The creature scrambled to grab onto the lid of his former prison. His skeletal hands seared on the surface, even though the lid was cool. A skeletal horror leaps onto the fire lords back, and a second and third join it. A loud clang echoes through the chamber as the ghastly skull falls into the sercophagus case. A horrible waling escapes before a molten puddle of bonemeal is all that remains... (i'll post the stats next) and then Civ mode RETURNS!
>>20515848yay time for loots, but for the civ mode I would like for the shaman to use his powers to create a large cover over the chasm, further shrouding it in darkness, and making it very hard to detect (i hope) this will stop the dust from blowing around, mucking up the place. I would like for the rest to work on improving weapons in preperations for attacking those nagas
rolled 6, 2 = 8LOSSES: 30 kobolds, 3 horrors, 2 archers, 6 ghouls, 15 pale zombies. GAINS: ( a bound chest is found on the bottom of the sarcophagus, inside a red helm is found. There is also a scroll of "Weapon enchant: lifesteal" usable multiple times. The last item to be found is a crystal of energy, capable of siphoning heat and light when it is light on fire. Dice roles for the helms affect will be chosen when someone puts it on.
>>20515899Have Shaman put you it on.

rolled 4, 2 = 6I'm probably doing to go to bed within the hour, so would you rather continue on for a bit and cut off or end now and start the next bit at 20 4chan time tomorrow? i'm fine with either. I find it funny that this was part two of a civ thread, but it was almost entirely in adventure mode. :P
>>20515990I was thinking of heading out soon as well, so if you leave, that would give me a perfect excuse.
>>20515990 I say stop for now and strart up tomarrow, i gotta sleep soon. I love this civ thread, cant wait for more!
rolled 5, 3 = 8k, i'll just post one more thing, then archive it and post the same post at the start of the next one tomorrow,
>>20515990sounds good bro, 20 it is
rolled 1, 2 = 3The dark lord found out that the shaman they rose was a journeyman geomancer. They used his prowess to begin construction of a project to conceal the chasm. It will take 2 turns to complete. Tyrell has awoken, and found that the sun causes him extreme pain and steam lifts off of his flesh. He knows from his study of the night creatures that he has contracted hemoplague. (vampirism, because i'm generic as fuck.) The winds rise again, but the shaman is able to keep the sand at bay. He shapes it, and uses it to pack an arched ceiling on his new masters home. The pale ones are put to work planting additional duskwheat, and forming a second ring of spiked tridents once they knock holes in the inner ring. the naga are not sight where they were expected to be... but the tracks seem to veer dead north, into the lushlands. Hornman caravens are patroling the roads once again, and Varien is itching to expand his ranks of the undead.
