What is a raindrop compared to the storm? What is a thought compared to the mind? Our unity is full of...TG QUEST!Last thread: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/20391827/Day: 14Current Objectives: Contain the Orz IncursionFleet Location:Elysium Harbor/ High Orbit over Fallout World.Inventory: http://pastebin.com/HGsJUZZbDescriptions: http://pastebin.com/UpKiRZnhWhen last we left our befuddled avatars, they were attempting to puzzle out a solution to the Orz threat after creating a demiplane to act as a safe haven for research and repairs named "Elysium." After a week of work, the Creation Engine has been updated, several new things crafted, and your science team has drawn up plans for an Orz Psi Emitter. Also, there is a priority message for you on the Meta-Comm Array from Admiral Holmstead.
>>20431827Let's check that message from the Admiral.
>>20431852>>20431827Yeah read that freaking message
>>20431827We know that the TSAB Dimensional Ward spell is an arcane spell. We need to know the specifics of it, so that we can determine if our Abjurers can cast it at all, and if they can, if we can use it to protect our fighter squadrons as well as our capital ships.
>>20431852"This is Admiral Dane Holmstead. My teams have finished analyzing the data you sent me, and I believe you have a strong case to not only clear your names, but to prove that the Black Operations branch has not been acting in good faith with the rest of the Guard. Between your evidence and scattered incident reports from other teams across the board and what they contributed, there might be a shadow at work there. An emergency meeting of the Command Council is scheduled for later today. I'd like for you to be present via your communications array to give your testimony. Once we root out this weed, we have a chance at restoring order in the ranks and dealing with the crises popping up everywhere."
>>20432012I don't think we can afford to miss this meeting.MetaOP, according to Holtz's notes, and with our improved deployment time, how long will it take the Quarantine Frame to be fully deployed and activated? We may need to put the plan to trap the Orz on hold until this meeting is concluded.
rolled 4, 2 + 56 = 62>>20432012Head to that meeting, we don't want to labeled as outlaws
>>20431998Your Abjurers can rig up a lesser version of the spell to memorize as Level 6. It has a duration of a day. The normal version is Level 7 and lasts for weeks, but can be made permanent with Permanency.>>20432048It will take about twenty minutes to place, then about another 4 hours while it unpacks, and it will go live about 6 hours from the time you push the button.Keep in mind you are being asked to attend via the communications array. You don't actually have to show up in person, and it'd probably be best if you didn't given they specified attendance via comm.
>>20432172We won't be attending in person, but having our attention diverted by attacking Orz and the containment operation probably won't go over well either. How close are teh Abjurers to another level up and access to 7th level spells?
>>20432217You are unsure.
>>20432291Do we know what school the Dimensional Ward falls into?If it's Abjuration, for some reason, the Abjurers could get an extra slot for it.Also, the Admiral said that the meeting was later in the day.How many hours do we have until then?Once we begin placing the Quarantine Frame, will it be detectable as it unpacks?
So can we do the plan where, instead of sending in more securitrons, we just use our teleporters to beam up Big MT in chunks?
>>20432346It will be detectable, yes.The meeting is in about seven hours.
>>20432291Could we ask them how much XP they have, or is that too meta?
>>20432349If we postpone the Orz containment operation, then maybe. However, I don't know if we should hold off on containing the Orz for that long. Is the Mk 5 firmware upgrade for the Securitrons really that important? And that much teleportation activity might be detected by the Orz.
>>20432451The Securitron MK II from the NV strip have 175 hit points. Their Melee attack does 20 damage. Their laser does 15 damage. Their missiles do 10 damage (splash). The Grenade Launcher does 10, and the submachine does 19.The Securitron MK VI from Big MT have 675 health. Same on weapons, but better targetting and more health.
>>20432540I can't remember, is that confirmed in game as a firmware upgrade? I chalked it up to improved chassis.
>>20432571You get a massive upgrade going from MK I to MK II using just the poker chip.It might be a combination of them though. I just figured the reason House didn't use those firmware is because he hated the guys who made it.Your call. If need be, we can just have Cossack upgrade the main design later.
>>20432614I think such a massive increase in durability needs to be justified with hardware upgrades, though I don't doubt it had a few programming tweaks.Waiting on a decision for your next move.
>>20432614That sounds like a great upgrade, but yeah, we need to know if it's a firmware upgrade we can get, or if it's an entire process. "ANON, running an analysis on Fallout: New Vegas, is the upgrade for the Securitrons a firmware upgrade we could possibly get from the Big MT?"
>>20432172Geez, 6 hours until it unpacks? AND it's detectable during that time?If we don't get swamped by Orz, they're all going to die there by the time it's finished setting up. I don't suppose we can request an Ur-Quan slave-shielding device? If we can attract the Orz to the Fallout Earth and then slave-shield it, that should be able to contain the Orz until the frame deploys. But at any rate, the testimony we have to give will probably be very important. We should attend and give our full attention to this.
>>20432717How is it detectable? Using sensors? Infrared? Sight? If we know how it can be detected, we can possibly hide it.
>>20432760http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/o/obscure-objectFound a spell that might make undetectable. It'd make it a hell of a lot harder for the Orz to find it.
It might be better to put the Orz Psi Emitter on a ship, rather than a static location. That will make it harder for the Orz to attack it.
>>20432799Might work, but it'll depend on how heavy the Quarantine Frame is, and how many parts. Also, if it will interfere with its operation.Otherwise sounds like a good thing to do.Also, are we taking the entire task force? With the limited amount of dimensional wards we can put up, that might not be a good idea.I think we should just go with the Storm, the Guardian, a pair of Al'Kesh, the TIE-D squadron, and the Gunstar. All with Dimensional Wards placed on them.
>>20432724>>20432760The Frame is detectable by the massive space-time distortions it gives off, and by energy discharges in all spectra as it constructs the quarantine wall. It's funny you mention the Ur-Quan Slave Shield. The Frame was partially based on that technology.Anyway, your base is messed up and Requisitions is down, so no, you can't request more gear.
>>20432990So, there's no way to hide it.Looks like we'll have to defend it then.
>>20432990Do we have enough Lesser Dimensional Ward spells available that we could protect:The Oncoming StormGuardian2x Al'KeshTIE-D Squadron (9/12)GunstarOrz Psi Emitter
>>20432824The ship has to be fairly quick. Either execute tons of microjumps to keep the Orz chasing it, or fast enough to keep dodging Howitzer blasts and Orz marines speeding toward it. OP, do the Orz merely have to stay in the same canon as the Quarantine Frame for it to work? Or do they have to be in the same solar system? If it's the former, we could just warp around with the decoy ship for a while and lead them on a wild goose chase. Even if the Orz travel through Quasispace, if we lead them far enough away, they may not be able to react in time to affect the Quarantine Frame.
>>20433091They just have to be in the same dimension.
Now I know this isn't a requisition thread, and we're not supposed to discuss this, but I don't wanna forget this for next time. Do you think it would be possible to hop over to Creation and steal/purchase/negotiate a shard of exaltation? That would be very useful for us.
>>20433125The only ships that I can think of that have a fast enough FTL drive are the RVF-25, and the Oncoming Storm itself. MetaOP, would the Orz Psi Emitter fit on the RVF-25?
>>20433165No.>>20433146It would be... possible, yeah.
>>20433204What is the smallest ship we have that the Psi Emitter can fit in?
>>20433204Excellent.Let's grab ourselves an Infernal exaltation, have our science boys figure out how to copy it, then have our chosen champion go Devil Tiger. Bam, we have our own sapient universe to counter Eldritch Abomination the Orz with.
>>20433204But using the Oncoming Storm isn't so great, since we need to be defending the nodes.MetaOP, with the upgrades that came with being inducted into TG service, have the Star Destroyers been equipped with navigational computers that will allow them to navigate hyperspace without being confined to pre-determined hyperspace routes?
>>20433235An Al'Kesh.>>20433261Yes, as evidenced by the microjumps and the fact that they can enter hyperspace in worlds without mapped routes (IE, every one you've visited.)
We may want to bring ships for the Orz containment mission that have teleportation interdiction. While the wards will ensure that nothing gets pulled from the ships, that's no guarantee that Orz will star appearing within.
>>20433246He said it was possible, not that it would be easy, or cheap, or that it wouldn't cause an even greater problem than the one we're already facing.>>20433353An Al'Kesh has shields and cloaking, but that's not enough. The shields are very weak, and the cloaking is negated by the fact that the Orz will be homing in on the Psi Emitter.
>>20433385Would the Indefatigable be better? It's tougher, has teleportation interdiction, and is fairly maneuverable for a ship its size. It also has cloaking and other starfleet gadgets.
>>20433404It's scheduled to return later today, though. They're still picking up their items from Drozana Station.
>>20433246Yeah, there's not a chance in hell we'd be able to get that in time for this.>>20433404I don't know. I'm willing to lose an Al'kesh.I'm not willing to let the Indie get broken again.
The next available ship up from an Al'Kesh would be the Relentless. We could make some transport inhibitors to protect it, and a Dimensional Ward. It has a hyperdrive, and the weapons to help fend off any Orz ships that try to get close. It's shields are tougher than an Al'Kesh, but since it's a capital ship, it's not as maneuverable. But, if something goes wrong, the Al'Kesh is much less of a loss than a whole Star Destroyer. All things considered, I think we'll have to go with the Al'Kesh as the Bait. Have it be manned by YVH Droids and Securitrons, and protected by transport inhibitors just in case.http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Transport_inhibitorWe should be able to quickly replicate them and set them up.
Getting back to earlier, are you putting the Orz Op on hold for the meeting then? I want confirmation 'afore I begin.
>>20433601I'm voting no. We need the Orz contained as quickly as possible. The longer they're around, the worse things will get.
>>20433601Yes, we will postpone it for the meeting.Unless we're allowed to do the meeting during the operation.
>>20433601Since we're doing the meeting by Holo, can't we have one dude talk and shit while the rest of us go on with the Orz operation? I mean we have a decent sized bridge crew.Unless the Orz can track by Holo, which would put our friendly admiral at risk, in which case we should probably do the meeting before he gets assassinated by Black Ops. Though we REALLY need to do the Orz too.
>>20433672The Orz shouldn't be able to, no. I need to know which to resolve first, the meeting or the Orz.
>>20433545Just keep in mind that Al'kesh are *very* fragile. A single Orz marine boarding it or a few Howitzer shots from an Orz Nemesis would wreak havoc on it.
>>20433751Votes seem to favor putting the Orz operation on hold and dealing with the meeting first.Since we're putting the Orz operation on hold, can we reinforce the Bait Al'Kesh with things like extra deflector shield generators (from the Creation Engine), extra armor plating, transport inhibitors, and maybe an extra micro-fusion reactor?
I think we should postpone the meeting. Orz Marine boarding Al'kesh = game over. Al'kesh getting hit by 5 or more Howitzer shots = game over. The Indef, on the other hand, is much more suited for operations such as these and is very tough for its size. It's returning later in the day anyhow. We want to get this right the first time. While containing the Orz quickly is good, doing the operation with an Al'kesh is doing it with a razor-thin margin of error. An uncontained Orz entity is disastrous, but a pissed-off Orz entity running amok with no quarantine frame in easy reach is even worse.
>>20433869Erk. I mean postpone the operation, not postpone the meeting.
Alright, majority seems to be to deal with the meeting with the Command Council first.Let's make sure that we've got all of our evidence ready, and TG regulations on everyone's PADDs. I suppose the Command Crew should show up in their dress uniforms, and use a secure conference room.
MetaOP, are you writing? Or waiting on us for something?
>>20433850You can.>>20434204The Command Crew gathers in dress uniform at the appropriate time as the Comm Array is fine-tuned to the proper secure channel, bursts of static and chatter from other channels emitting from the room's access display as the techs work on it.*chhhhk*"EMPEROR EMPEROR EMPEROR EMPEROR! EM-""HERESY! HERESY! HERESY! HERESY! HERESY! HE-"*chhhhhk*"..is stupid. Who even orders stuff like this?""Just load it on the damn ship."*chhhhhk*"...doesn't even work, I bet. Put it away, Xiaomu."*chhhhhk*"YOUR SONG IS NOT OOOOURS!"*chhhhhk*"ANOTHER anomaly? What the hell is happening out the-"*chhhhhk*At long last, the display resolves into a group of six men and women in military uniform, seated around a "U" shaped table. In the curve of the "U" stands Admiral Holmstead. He nods as your holo-representations flicker to life before him. You recognize the heads of Logistics, Defense, Research, Exploration, Medical/Aid, and Intelligence, the Black Ops wing."Glad you could join us," Admiral Holmstead says. "I've already presented your evidence, and the Council stands ready to examine you. Before we do that, you may address the Council if you like, and give your own testimony."
>>20434516YOU ARE ALL INCOMPETANT AND SHOULD BE SHOT, DIE YOU FUCKERS.
>>20434553Um. I'll take care of that dumbass./drags to airlock. Throws him out.
>>20434516>>...doesn't even work, I bet. Put it away, Xiaomu."Namco x Capcom/Endless Frontier coming our way in Meta Quest.
>>20434516"We understand the need for a Black Ops unit. All of us here understand history and politics enough to know that it is necessary. "But that doesn't mean that we can accept or condone actions by members of Black Ops that directly endangers the security of an entire sector, the lives of Transpace Guard personnel, and the safety of Earth."
>>20434553Let's pretend that didn't happen."As you've no doubt seen, high ranking elements of the Black Ops division have delved into powers better left alone, and become corrupted; in body, mind and duty. Given the fact that such a large body of BLOPS fleet assets were involved, we can only assume that this corruption, this fanaticism for destruction, stretches to the highest levels of that department. Their willingness to destroy Guard assets and co-opt Guard facilities, as well as their association with darker powers, clearly shows that they can no longer be trusted to uphold their duty. With this evidence, I can only conclude that the Black Ops division, in its near entirety, has betrayed the Transpace Guard."Actually, that's more of a closing statement. Why don't we just leave this off until they ask us for a final statement? Or you can use it if you like it anyways.
>>20434516The events that transpired at the station are as follows:Task Force 38 was sent to stabilize the Vault base in the Shadowrun canon against the Orz by installing dimensional stabilizers sent by this sector's HQ. Upon the successful installation of the stabilizers, all communications with HQ were lost. We returned to find that the station was surrounded by the remnants of the Black Ops fleet sent to deal with the moving reality distortion. We hailed sector HQ, and got no immediate response; however, one of the comm stations on the command section of sector HQ responded to our hails. What we saw on the comm station screen was as follows:>roll footage of the altercation between Holtz, Yurgus, and Colonel EvaAs you can see, Yurgus was attempting to forcefully gain control of the base with an incomplete clearance code. When denied by Sector Manager Holtz, who outranked him, he shot both Colonel Eva and Holtz. Not long after this happened, elements of the Black Ops fleet approached our Task Force, and demanded that we power down our weapons and defenses. We asked for a complete clearance code, of which they could only provide one half of.
>>20434648After that, we showed them the footage of Yurgus shooting Colonel Eva and Section Manager Holtz, but they did not relent in their demands. After consulting ANON for proper protocols for classifying rogue elements, we asked several times for their surrender or else we would be forced to consider them a rogue force. Their reply was to send a malicious virus, designated "Vol Opt" to take control of the Oncoming Storm and fire a token aggression shot at one of their vessels, and attempt to erase the data contained within the recorder on the Oncoming Storm. This virus then attempted to hijack many vital systems, and resulted in the destruction of one of our ships. The computer logs and other data evidence of this can be seen here:>(present pertinent/relevant data)After this was done, the Black Ops fleet began to attack in earnest. As these Black Ops forces were classified as rogue elements, we defended ourselves. There was a pitched battle aboard the Storm and many of our capital ships to repel the numerous Black Ops boarders, as well as significant losses taken to our fleet and to the Protoss fleet which was accompanying us due to our battle with the rogue Black Ops starships. The details of this space battle can be seen in the damage reports/summaries, and in the following footage:>(send the relevant reports, and roll relevant footage of the battles against the boarders and the Black Ops fleet)
>>20434553>INCOMPETANT>Incompetent?>Irony.>>20434590The head of Intelligence is Walter Page, a thin-boned man with dark circles under his eyes, and regulation-short black hair. He leans over the table towards your virtual avatars."If you understand that need, then you should understand the reasons we can't account for everything we do, and the necessity of obedience without understanding when we give orders," he says in a soft, quiet tone. "Whether or not Yurgus acted as you say he did, you still disobeyed direct orders to depart a Black Operation."Malcolm Resch, the head of Defense growls at this. An older man still physically fit, he leans over the table towards Page."You expected them to just leave with all that going on? They didn't even get a full passcode!" he states, cracking his knuckles on the table. Page looks at him impassively."I expected them to go through the proper channels. Instead of barging in, they should have attempted to reach someone higher up in the chain of command for confirmation, or contacted our IA unit. Instead, they acted like their boss, the late Sector Manger Holtz. We all know his record, do we not?" Page says."This is not about Holtz's actions, this is about evidence being put forward that Yurgus... and indeed several more of your units have gone rogue, and little is being done to stop them," Holmstead states."Er, and also, about Task Force 38 acting in accordance with the General Conduct Code," the head of Research says, pushing his glasses back on his nose.
>>20434795>general conduct codeWhats that? And is this for or against us?
>>20434795...Mr. Page (I'm not really sure what formal rank to address you by) who told you Commander Holtz was dead?
>>Walter PageThat name has come up in a cartoon or a comic before. I am thinking it's from one of those cartoons where Jeff Kline was an executive producer....
>>20434845This is a strike against the ass who stands against us. Drop the hammer.
>>20434795Sir. Not to be rude, but Sector Manager Holtz isn't dead yet. He's just in medical and almost dead. He's alive, but in very poor shape, although stable. Also, we were unable to contact anyone of higher rank. Our communications were jammed and we were prevented from leaving by them attacking us for asking for the rest of the code.
>>20434771After securing our ships and neutralizing all of the Black Ops boarders, a small detachment of heavy freighters attached to the Black Ops fleet warped out, apparently having prepared an emergency warp. We then began the process of retaking this sector's HQ. What we found there was disturbing, to say the least.>Roll footage of mutated Black Ops soldiers, devastated battle areas, Black Ops mutants attacking non-mutated Black Ops soldiers, Black Ops mutants stacking corpses to merge into miniature-Profound Darknesses, and finally the fight where Yurgus and Dark Force (speech included)As you can see, the Black Ops forces sent to subjugate this sector's HQ were mutated by an evil force. We have testimony from a captured Black Ops trooper that outright states that these mutations were brought about by a peculiar combat ability-enhancing drug passed out by the higher-ups within this Black Ops force. But these were no alien mutations; aside from the mutated troopers being immensely hostile toward their unmutated brethren, and were observed to stack corpses to create an entity that strongly resembles one of the forms of the Profound Darkness. Furthermore, Yurgus outright admitted to the use of D-Cells to "control" the evil entity known as "Dark Force" to further his own objectives. While we were able to stop Yurgus and Dark Force, the damage to HQ was immense, and Section Manager Holtz was injured by the Black Energy Wave during the fight with Yurgus and Dark Force.
While I do understand the necessity of Black Ops, and even more clear on the importance of Internal Affairs, I'm a bit unclear on the wisdom of making them both be the same department.
Guys I think Page is in on it too. We should watch him so we can warn people when he goes for a gun or some shit.>>20434845This.>>20434771>>20434648Also these, and any future ones, spaced as appropriate.
>>20434648>>20434771"Again, you have a TDM-class communications array. Why did you not inform the proper channels before embarking on your little vigilante action?" Page asks. "Perhaps you weren't cleared to know the full code.""That kind of idiotic secrecy is part of the problem! What's the point of a clearance code if you're not cleared to hand it out!" the head of Logistics thunders. A heavy set man with a lit cigarette dangling limply from his mouth, Julius Gerraccio shakes his head vigorously. "Do you have any idea what you're doing, Page? It's hard enough to keep up with all the equipment requests and supply drops, but trying to do it all while navigating the increasingly maze-like web of nonsensical rules your precious 'Black Ops' are surrounded in is driving me mad!""Gentlemen, please!" the head of Medical, Kara Moroianu, says. A middle aged woman with graying hair that was once red, she sighs. "The charges here are serious enough, Julius. Please stick to the matter at hand.""Now you are saying that the Vol Opt program erased your flight recorder. Where then did you get the footage used in this hearing?" the head of Research asks.
>>20434919...Huh. How were we able to do that?
>>20434919We have a skilled array of Shadowrunners and UNIT troopers assigned to our Task Force. With their expertise, we managed to recover the data that was erased from Vol Opt's malicious attack.
>>20434919This is what we have from AFTER we removed said "Virus." We also were able to recover some of the deleted data, although it wasn't much.
>>20434935We assigned our entire Electronic Warfare division to recovering the data that was erased by Vol Opt. Elaine helped too.
>>20434919"Sir, we were able to reconstruct the data from the tertiary backups that we had prepared as part of a security update we had embarked upon. Also, supporting evidence is derived from the flight recorders of other ships from our task force and the communication and sensor logs of the Sector HQ."
>>20434939Should we mention that Vol Opt did delete all evidence of it ever being there?Like even if it hurts our case, I don't doubt Page would be able to bring it up, so it's better they hear it from us,
>>20434950I forget, does Holtz have some internal recording devices as well?
>>20434891>>20434891As can be seen in the footage, Yurgus is using magic to combat our forces. While there is nothing inherently wrong in magic, it is important to note that he is using an attack pattern identical to the dark magician known as "Zio", from the Phantasy Star canon. From this mastery of the Black Energy Wave, as well as his other offensive options, it can be inferred that he was either drawing power directly from Dark Force OR from the Profound Darkness. One of our UNIT combat troopers was injured and killed by such an energy wave from one of the smaller Protoform Profound Darknesses, and would not respond to regular magical healing or raising. In fact, one of our white mage staff was also hit by this attack, and would not respond to magical healing until a Miracle was performed by a cleric of Desna in our employ. Section Manager Holtz was also hit by this attack, and only through the concentrated and amplified efforts of our most powerful white mages were we able to purge the dark energies that pervaded his body.
>>20434900There is an IA unit attached to each department. Nominally, they act independently. Nominally.>>20434845Director Page doesn't miss a beat. "It seemed fairly obvious, isn't it? He was shot several times at close range by a trained killer.">>20434866"Ah. I see. Good to hear he is still alive, then. But... here's the funny thing," Page taps a few keys on his datapad. "According to the lists I have, no ship was fielded there capable of jamming your class of communications array. Can you account for that?""I'd also like to know why the number of prisoners was so low," the Head of Research, Director Isaac Mav asks. "If you were engaging in a Guard internal police action as you claim, er, self defense, well, why are the casualties so high? Didn't you attempt to take your comrades alive?">>20434891"Unfortunate. If it was a combat enhancement drug, couldn't it be acting in an unforeseen way? Or perhaps field testing gone horribly wrong?" Page asks, turning to Director Mav. The Research head winces, fumbling for one of his datapads."I'll... I'll check my files..."
>>20435117>You explain about the data recovery."I see. Who is this 'Elaine'?" Page asks."I'd like to have some of our interrogators talk to the few prisoners you DID take," First Scout Horace Hunt says, tapping his hand on the table. "I'm surprised they haven't been delivered to a safe location already.""That's precisely why," Holmstead states. "If there IS some conspiracy within Bl- within Intelligence, then there aren't many places key witnesses can go that won't put them at risk. The safest place for them right now is where they are.""I don't think that's a decision for you to make, Admiral," Resch says, looking intently at the other military man. "They should've been handed over with the other information."
>>20435117Did we ever pinpoint which vessel was causing the jamming during the battle? If ANON was able to pick it out, display the craft data to the inquiry.Otherwise show off the sensor logs available.
>>20435117To be honest, the Black Ops soldiers were better trained and had better equipment than our own forces. It took everything we had to defeat them with lethal force. In addition, we demanded their surrender numerous times, only to be almost unilaterally refused.
>>20435117Sir. While we do have an array of detectors in our fleet, there was not nearly enough time to spread them out to scout out all of the star system. It may be entirely possible that there were cloaked ships that were jamming our systems. The Sector HQ was also completely taken over by Black Ops forces save for a scattered pockets of resistance of Transspace Guardsmen; it is possible that they were using HQ's systems in such a way to jam our communications. >Head of Research and Prisoners TakenWe did issue several pleas for surrender. However, we were met with no replies, or replies that only served to thin more of our crew.>roll footage of Black Ops troopers refusing surrender, and of the resulting possessions in R&D (along with the ensuing battle). After that incident, we did not think that the rest of the Black Ops boarders would be amenable to surrendering. As for the Black Ops operatives on the station, the vast majority of them were either dead or mutated. We did manage to save one squad of non-mutated Black Ops soldiers, from whom we gathered our testimony. But some of them reacted... rather oddly.>roll footage of the Black Ops squad we rescued getting assailed by mutants, and then that one guy getting all throat-punchy and zealous.
>>20435117Because when we tried to capture them, the ones that were still free kept killing the others agents. Our ships has had many upgrades. Theirs have likely had many as well. Maybe they had an unauthorized upgrade to jam signals? And sir, how do you know exactly what ships attacked our base?Elaine is a White Mage from Final Fantasy Tactics. She specializes in healing mechanical units as well as organic. Also, based on what ANON could tell, the "enhancement drug" was turning them into a creature from the Phantasy Star canon. Considering that they captured the Dark Force from the same universe, it is unlikely they didn't know what the serum did.
>>20435117>>20435129"We had 2 minutes from the initiation of communications with the Black Ops task force, and when they initiated an electronic attack on our computer systems and AI. Once Vol Opt was in our network, we were locked out of our systems and were barely able to keep life support."As for attempting to take prisoners, we tried. However, the armor that Black Ops personnel wore deflected phasers set to anything below Setting XV, making stunning impossible. Also, they carried portable transport inhibitors, preventing us from being able to beam them to a holding cell, and their environmental protection meant that stun gas was ineffective."
>>20435129"Elaine" is one of the white mages we recruited. Throughout our operations in this sector, she has served with exemplary dedication and wisdom. I am woefully unfamiliar with the ways of white magic, but she has managed to master healing on a level akin to the higher-level Clerics from Faerun or similar canons. Her white magic has been shown to be able to mend machinery and other inanimate objects, not dissimilar to how powerful Clerics can use their divine magic to mend broken objects.
>>20435117Director Page, what do you mean by 'there'?Do you mean the HQ, or the mobile distortion?Because it was our understanding that Yurgus's forces were merely the survivors of the fleet that attacked said distortion.Did he issue any reports to you after he retreated?
>>20435276I don't think we should be so forward with information regarding Elaine, unless asked. We're going to need to up security around her; Black Ops is going to be coming after her most likely.
The Orz wear the suits wherever they go.They actually end up walking with them in the Earth Starbase, once allied with Humans."Jumping *peppers*!! This is smiley time! You are *campers* after all!!We will start *alliance* *parties* for better enjoyment!"
>>20435117>>20435129I am admittedly unfamiliar with the infinitely numerous performance-enhancing drugs that exist amongst the canons. However, the mutated Black Ops troopers did bear a strong resemblance to this creature: a "Hakenleft", one of the creatures known to "serve under" Dark Force. Consulting with ANON on the subject revealed that these mutants had several different mutations, but the similarities between them were far too numerous to be a coincidence.
>>20435240Instead of saying what class Elaine is, what if we just say that "Elaine is one of our recovery specialists" and leave it at that. He's an Intel spook, he should know enough already.
>>20435276>>20435295Oh. Alright. Although we did already mention Elaine helping out on the data recovery. How should we explain her contribution, then?
>>20435320It baring a resemblance to the Hakenleft means they could have been transforming into one of four similar monsters: Ripper, Piercer, Bladeright, and Hakenleft. However the one we encountered that fused was most likely a Bladeright and Hakenleft fused into a Twinarms.
>>20435339>>20435343Alright. We'll go with the "recovery specialist" and then only provide details if he presses us and isn't overruled by the other board members.
>>20435279"At your headquarters of course," Page says. "No, I received no reports from him."Commander Resch narrows his eyes at this response.>>20435230"Look, right there! That sort of zeal, that sort of disregard for discipline has no place in a professional army!" Resch declares. "He looks more like a religious zealot than a soldier!""We can't account for every soldier we recruit, you should know that," Page says, smoothly."But it's more than this isolated incident, Director," Surgeon-General Moroianu says. "Admiral Holmstead has presented several other incidents that show a rising trend of... I hesitate to call it fanaticism in your ranks.""Fanaticism can be a useful tool in war," Director Page quietly states. Commander Resch looks at him aghast."I can't believe I just heard that from another Council member," he states, shaking his head."Now, now," Director Mav says, shuffling the hill of datapads around in front of him. "Pragmatism is one of the virtues foremost in our organization.""It's not pragmatic to put what amount to cultists in powered armor and give them plasma rifles, it's stupid!" First Scout Hunt says, with a sigh."Gentlemen, please!" Moroianu says again.
>>20435346>>20435320"Well, according to the information I have, that is one of the possible mutations arising from the infection of a human body with D-cells, yes..." Director Mav says, tapping on one of his many datapads."Wait. What's a D-cell?" Commander Resch asks."A... erm, specific cell type from a being known as Dark Falz," Isaac says."And Yurgus was issuing injections to his men of that stuff?" Commander Resch asks, eyebrows raised. "For what possible reason?""I thought injecting soldiers with tiny little bits of ancient alien gods went out with Jenova," First Scout Hunt complains from his chair.
And just to clarify, OP, the reply in >>20434948 was not intended to be a verbal response to the assembled TG officials. I was just telling the other anon how we recovered the data.
>>20435505Regardless of your interpretation on Black Ops policy, can we at least agree that Yurgus, in his invocation of the Profound Darkness and possibly possession of the enigmatic and incredibly dangerous substance known as Ω Energy are not in line with Transpace Guard policy, and Yurgus can be classified as a rogue agent.
>>20435517From what we can tell, it was so that people they murdered stayed permanently dead.We lost several of our soldiers and they are unable to be raised using any known method.
>>20435517According to the Black Ops soldier whom we questioned, it was an injection that was said to greatly enhance the standard soldier's strength and resistance to damage. If combat got too fierce for standard protocols, they were to take these drugs via syringe. While there was no mention about the mutation part, their strength and damage resistance was indeed greatly enhanced. These drugs also appeared to conferred some necromorphic properties to them, as shown in the video clip where many of these mutate soldiers are stacking up corpses, which then morph into a many-eyed abomination.
>>20435505>>20435517"Sir, I think that we've had enough of fanatics since the whole debacle in the Mid East. And fanatics didn't do Imperial Japan any favors when they got them embroiled in World War 2, or committed all those atrocities."And at least one other person here has played Final Fantasy VII. None of that ended well, did it? Or in Advent Children."
>>20435517Oh, that's what the D-Cells are?I was under the impression that they were from the webcomic canon 'Captain SNES', specifically the Ω-Energy-filled batteries of the protagonist's super scope, capable of permanently killing anyone it hits.My mistake.
>>20435614Don't tell them that. Then Black Ops will run to get their hands on as much Omega Energy as possible.
>>20435635You think they might not know about its existence? To be honest, I'm hoping that Captain SNES counts as a fanfiction and thus isn't actually a canon. Also I'm not really sure how Dark Force and its thralls could permakill our forces without any Ω Energy, given I don't recall seeing any mages around.
>>20435663I'd rather take the chance that they don't know about it's existance and keep on our toes in case they do, instead of them not knowing about it's existance and us telling them it does.
>>20435663I mean it's not like the souls or whatever of our troops were destroyed, it just was unable to reunite with the body. Not really sure what could do that.
>>20435663The Black Energy Wave from PSIV was shown to injure people with no response to healing spells or items. Although the protagonists of the game manage to overcome the effects of the Black Energy Wave, it could be attributed to the fact that they were heroes of prophecy native to that canon. Or some sort of weakening effect of the Psycho-Wand on Zio's magic.
>>20435716But I thought some of our troops permadied just fighting the Hakenleft?Or am I confused?
>>20435737Dark Falz cells. that'd do it.
>>20435737No, you are correct. Though it wasn't really a Hakenleft by that point. Not really sure what it was, but it definitely had access to Omega Energy.
>>20435762So its official designation is Dark Falz instead of Dark Force?...spoony bards.
>>20435773different names for the same thing.
>>20435737Not the Hakenleft/Black Ops mutants. The unfortunate unraisable UNIT trooper got blasted directly in the chest by an energy wave that one of the corpse-formed mini-Profound Darknesses barfed out. Our healers arrived while he was still alive, but he expired since he did not respond to healing or raising. It's a bit harder to tell why Yurgus' Black Wave was so devastating compared to Zio's. That could be attributed to OP cranking up the difficulty (GAEMPLAI MEKANIKCS) or because Yurgus was already a powerful dark magic-user before he Zio'd himself up. Zio in PSIV was essentially a regular person who got infused with Dark Force's power.
>>20435773It's official designation depends on what game you're playing. But Dark Falz is usually accepted as a mistranslation/corruption of Dark Force, either is usually acceptable unless you're a hardcore grognard.
>>20435801Oh right, that's what did it.My bad.
>>20435802>>20435773In one of the Phantasy Star game, Dark Force was hilariously mistranslated into Dark Phallus. This carried over into PSIV, where you could encounter a nascent form of Dark Force in the last dungeon, named "Prophallus."DICKS. DICKS EVERYWHERE.
>>20435802Dark Force generally refers to the original, while Dark Falz generally refers to the entity in PSO.
>>20435889Dark Falz also doesn't look nearly as intimidating or menacing as Dark Force. Oversized holy-using dimenian vs. horrible organic-machine thing/spider-horror/bone-armored walking abomination that can disguise itself as a human. What the holy hell is a falz anyway?
>>20435905I agree, Red Ring Rico was pretty hot.
>>20435609"You are out of line, soldier," Page says, narrowing his eyes."For saying what we're all thinking? Get your damn men in line, Page!" Commander Resch says, leaning back in his chair. "We have enough problems with your damn Firemen acting like the Guard is their personal platform for spreading their twisted views.""Does anyone have any more questions for the assembled?" the Surgeon-General asks, tiredly."Ah... one more thing," Director Mav asks. "There have been several accusations of being compromised by outside forces being thrown around... but my records indicate you had several SUEs stored at the base, and were researching them."Commander Resch and Director Gerroccio exchange worried looks."Can you give us a guarantee you were not compromised?"
>>20436090"We can give our sworn testimony that we are not compromised, but I doubt that's enough. "We can submit to a full neurological scan, if that's what it takes. None of our sensors or scans have shown any members of the task force to be compromised. A mana scan can also be arranged."
>>20436090Actually, we had only done research on one SUE. She was an artificial SUE created by a Wesker SUE and a Wizard from Ravenloft in a Horror crossover that was "created" by Ebon Night, a primordial god from Exalted. We had hoped to cure her but we never got the chance. The other SUES were to be sent to HQ as soon as possible, but we were attacked before we got the chance. We have also sent in to HQ a SUE based on Alucard.
>>20436090Actually we hadn't gotten around to doing any actual research on them yet, as they were all placed under suspended animation under a concentrated array of reality emitters. And besides that, I believe the current plan was to send them to central HQ, as our task force lacks the resources to effectively commit science upon them. Also I can confirm that we are neither emitting nor causing reality distortions, and most of the SUEs were unconscious when we took them into custody, and I don't believe they ever had a chance to regain consciousness until the Black Ops soldiers took them....I'm not really sure why they took the neutralized SUEs, instead of simply destroying them.
>>20436090"You can scan us with reality sensors if you'd like, however if we were SUEs, we would have been able to flawlessly and single handedly turned back the black ops fleet as well as having everyone fawning over us with no doubt in your mind that we were innocent, right and true, while we stroked obscenely colored hair."
>>20436133"Why not recall them to base, give their unit a full examination?" Director Mav asks his fellows. There are murmurs."We'll see," Commander Resch says. "Do you have anything else to add, Task Force 38?">I'll pick this up tomorrow, but it'll be late. You have that time to enter any final arguments.
>>20436172Good night, MetaOp.
>>20436172Would it be possible to have a small amount of leeway before reporting to central command, just so we can complete our current mission? Also, who would be delivering this examination?
>>20436172>Pardon my late arrival, but I figured there's a key point we haven't coveredMake to sure to mention that black Ops abducted/stole the corpses of several base personnel, including Colonel Eva, for unknown purposes.OOC:So, Black Ops is made of Firemen. marvellous. Also, I'm repeating my suggestion we obtain some of the Robot Army from TF2. Of course, that will be a talll order (although the Engineer may have had some hand in them, so he might help us produce our own, home-grown, variants).
>>20436172Closing Statements:"The Black Ops task force that attacked us endangered the entire sector with their actions."Instead of informing us of what happened when they made contact with the moving reality distortion, they attacked us and the base personnel, killing scores of TG personnel, many beyond our ability to revive. Instead of warning us of the fast approaching, and now assuredly hostile, battlefleet, they damaged our Task Force and Sector HQ to the point where we've had to route sector operations through a branch office, and delayed an important quarantine operation. "Finally, Director Page, you say that we were reckless in not contacting Main HQ. Are you then saying that the entire operation, including its abject failure, WAS authorized by Intelligence?"
>>20439414Do you think we should also show them the footage of the corpses of Colonel Eva and some other assorted TG staff being carted away by Yurgus/Black Ops on stealthed transports? I'm not sure if we can really act on the information right now, and it might serve to cast more suspicions on Black Ops.
>>20442456Yes, I think we should. Page won't tell us what they're doing, of course, but if he was in contact with Yurgus when the Sector HQ takeover happened, as was implied, and then he could be in contact with the Black Ops transports that were able to escape.

Its a pity I wasn't here for the salvage operations. It looked like the courier was going the indepentent route and we could have salvaged the Yes Man A.I.I am not sure what how he could help us.
>>20445086We tried. Vegas Strip is still heavily guarded. We were unable to acquire anything from there.
MetaOP, during the time spent inside Elysium, Vitun was able to True Resurrect Falco, and Slippy refused to come back. Could we also True Resurrect Gaunt, or do we have to go to the Dark Matter Canon before we can attempt it?
>>20446635Wait, what? When did this happen? All I remember is MetaOp ignoring me whenever I asked him to contact them.
>>20447179http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/20391827/#p20421981>Falco is successfully resurrected, but Slippy is not willing to return to life. Apparently Falco's rage at being shot down before he got to his Arwing was enough to drive him to revive, but Slippy just wants to move on at this point. His planet is gone, his friends are pretty much all dead, he wants rest.About two nights ago that happened.
>>20447201Damn. How the hell are we going to reunite Star Fox now?
>>20447219We can't.Slippy prefers being dead and Fox and Peppy do too.Falco's the only one who actually wanted to come back, and that's just because he's pissed he died without being able to defend himself.
>>20447261Whelp, we all know what this means. We're going to go recruit three more Falco and start Star Falco.
>>20447201MetaOp, while the crew is putting up the Dimensional Field/At the meeting I'd like to have someone pull Falco aside and see if he is up for one more attempt at convincing Star Fox to come back. I have a crazy idea, that just might work.
>>20446635You have to be within the same world to attempt a True Resurrection here, so yeah, you'd have to take a trip there.>>20447179I am sorry if I kept missing your stuff, keeping track of everything in this quest is getting a little daunting.>>20447669Depending on your idea, he might be willing to give it a go.
>>20447935I understand man, no worries. It's just kind of BwaHuh, when I miss what I've been asking to see done. I'm just glad you still have the drive to run the quest, we're catching up to Zeonquest's record really fucking fast.
>>20447935Okay, back to work.Closing statements to the Command Council here >>20439414 with a note that 1. the Black Ops transports took the bodies of some high-ranking personnel from the station, preventing their resurrection, and 2. that any testing will have to wait until we have successfully finished our Containment Operation.
>>20439414Also, add on that the SUEs that were captured were notably absent from any reality distortion scans that were ran on the station. They may have been carted away from the station during/before the battle, or otherwise destroyed.Do you other guys think we should toss in the information gleaned from interrogating that Black Ops guy regarding what happened when Black Ops attempted to confront the reality distortion fleet?
>>20447935Well, the idea goes as follows: We're going to get Vitun and Tosh together to contact them, alongside Falco. Then we're going to give them the one thing no hero can ignore, an impassioned FRIENDSHIP SPEECH! as follows."Fox, Peppy, Slippy, the thing about Star Fox, the thing that made you the greatest pilots in your world was the fact that you stuck together and watched each other's backs. Even when you split up, the universe conspired to reunite Star Fox as soon as they were needed once more. THIS is one of those times, and WE need Star Fox. The Star Fox I was told stories of was inseparable, you'd always have each other's back, you'd always be there when one of you needed help, but after this only Falco is willing to come back and help those who need it? Death is no excuse, Fox how many times has James appeared to help you since he died? Whenever you needed him, he was there, no matter if it was leading you out of Andross before he exploded or when you assaulted Venom to destroy the Angular Emperor and he didn't even have the benefit of coming back to life to do it! THAT'S WHAT THE BONDS OF STAR FOX MEAN! EVEN DEATH IS NOT ENOUGH TO KEEP YOU FROM WHERE YOU'RE NEEDED!We understand you want your rest, we understand you've earned it so many times over. But we need the help of Star Fox more then ever, and Falco can't shoulder the entire weight of that himself. And if you still can't help us, maybe James will be willing to."
>>20448122>when Black Ops attempted to confront the reality distortion fleetThat would have been part of the evidence that we had send to the Admiral.
Ah, MetaOP, the Capital Wasteland Brotherhood of Steel and the Outcasts use T-45d Power Armor, not the T-44d. I'll update the records accordingly when we receive them. Also, by Enclave Hellfire Pack, do you mean 1 squad's worth of Hellfire Power Armor, or 1 suit?
>>20448033Also add in that there might be potentially ominous implications to having dead bodies shipped around. While preventing resurrection in a safe place is the most obvious application, we have to remember that the modified D-cells add necromorphic capabilities. This may potentially mean that those bodies could spawn a Protoform-Profound Darkness. Or possibly act as a shell for Dark Force, who has been observed to masquerade as a human and not be detected unless strong good-aligned dispelling measures are used.
>>20447935I want Vitun to run a test.I would like him to cast True Ressurection on Lt. Eva. It would let us know whether the Black Ops agents were using Soul Gems or other methods to prevent ressurection.
rolled 95 = 95>>20439414"No, Yurgus' action was not," Page states. "And I don't know what those transports were doing.""Except that it was, and I can prove it," Holmstead says, pressing a button on his datapad. An audio recording plays, one of the voices Yurgus'."...going smoothly.""What about the base near there?""It's Holtz's. He isn't sympathetic to our cause. Remove him by whatever means. If necessary, false-flag it.""Understood.""Make the most of this. If it comes to force, test our new weapons. See how effective they are against fellow Guardsmen. The data might be crucial in the near future. This comes from the top."The meeting immediately dissolves into chaos, everyone shouting at once.>>20448131Rolling for success.>>20448374My mistake. One squad's of Hellfire Power Armor and related gear (Heavy Incinerators, Plasma Rifles), yes.
>>20448849Aw shit, looks like the TG Civil War is going to break out in full force. What's going to happen to Earth? Are the Firemen fanatical enough to bring the fight to Earth? The nations on Earth won't stand for the TG endangering their security because of an ideological conflict.
>>20448849To the surprise of everyone, it works, and Vitun manages to resurrect the Star-Fox team in its entirety... and James, too.-----"That is clearly an engineered fabrication," Page says, tone cold, but eyes burning. "Clearly I would ne-""Feel free to have any analyst not affiliated with the Firemen or Intelligence go over it, I assure you it's genuine." Holmstead says, smiling."But I gave no such order. They're safely docked in one of your high-security ports, with codes corresponding to the highest levels of command."Page narrows his eyes. "Very well. I will be direct then."Page raises a hand and the sleeve of his uniform melts into gray goo, flowing into his hand in the space of a second to reform into a sleek pistol. "I am in command now.""A nanite g-" Gerraccio breathes before Page shoots him in the chest. Resch leaps over the table towards Page as he fires again and the feed goes dead.
>>20448937Dammit, now we have to choose between containing the Orz, or trying to fight in the TG Civil War."ANON, did you record that entire incident?"We're going to have to transmit this to every single Messiah and Moderate before the Firemen can attack.
>>20448937Well fuck. We're recording this right? As procedure with all black ops shit? Looks like we freelance now, better inform Holtz. Also: React in shock at James being there, because holy shit I DID NOT expect him to be all "Hi guys, I'm going to help you kick ass." As well inform them that with the Great Fox's destruction and to keep something like them getting exploded before being able to launch from happening again, they're being housed in the AUH. Aside from that, introduce Star Fox to the crew and get them all a drink.
>>20449024Prepare to send that video, especially the last segment where Page pretty much initiated a coup in the Command Council, to every single listed Moderate and Messiah on the list that Holtz gave us, as well as transmitting to every Sector HQ we have on file on a high-priority channel. Also include all Branch Bases."This is Task Force 38. As of 17:45 GMT-EARTH today, Black Ops and the Intelligence Branch have illegally initiated a takeover of Earth and all TG assets. Be advised that Black Ops and the Firemen will likely attack any and all TG personnel who resist their takeover."
>>20449024Make copious backups of the footage. Use any form of compatible storage, even some ancient ones like VHS or shaky cellphone camera feeds. Can we get into contact with the rest of the main HQ? Can we get a sitrep of what is happening over there? Hopefully they can get Page subdued, but I have a feeling that Black Ops is now rampaging across the sectors, now.
>>20448849Crit success. I'm crying tears of joy. The dice god like you Anon >>20448131
>>20448937Damnit, are you telling me that the entire council isn't prepared for an assassination attempt?Where are the personal force-fields and teleportation devices?
>>20449125"Roger that, commander. We'll start relaying the recordings and warning right away," your comm-officer says.>>20449175Theoretically most defenses are unneeded in a meeting whose sole occupants are highly trusted and ranking TG officers, though you'd imagine they have personal items. You won't know for sure what, since the feed is down.
>>20449334Status on >>20448743and enchanting by Abjurers?
>>20449334We need to immediately get ahold of Main HQ Security and have a security team go to that conference room. Also, contact the TG battlefleet defending Earth and let them know of this betrayal.ANON, can we contact the UN or the State Departments for the nations of Earth? Earth Space is going to turn into a warzone if they don't clamp down on this insurrection. And someone wake up Holtz and tell him what happened.
>>20449369The spell fails. What enchanting?>>20449374Your Meta-Comm can only handle so much traffic. For the time being, you're sending out warnings and the recordings to everyone on the list. The main defense fleet can be added to the top of the queue, but your array will be busy with warning for quite some time.Holtz blinks as you give him the news."....shiiiiiiit!" he snarls. "All right. All right, what are you doing right now?"
>>20449502http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/20391827/#p20421009http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/20391827/#p20421441Basically, we wanted the Abjurers enchanting weapons during that week we were looting and stuff.
>>20449502Right now, we're sending warnings to the moderates and messiahs that you listed on the datapad that you gave us. We're also going to try to warn Earth of Black Ops' betrayal.More immediately, though? We're preparing to attempt to contain the Orz while we may still have a chance. We've got a tentative plan hammered out, but it will still take about a half a day to execute.
>>20449502Currently warning everyone who is likely to see this for the treachery it is.Also, did the training manual for Black Ops somehow get switched with that for cliched villains? At this point I'm expected Director Page to turn into a giant snake when we confront him.
>>20449502But the defense fleet at the top of the queue. As for Holtz, inform him of the warnings we're sending out, and right now we need to decide if we're going to continue with the Orz containment plan.
Would it be possible to contact the TSAB so they can help nip this in the bud before it spreads to their sector?Given the disposition of the Firemen, they can't not declare war on the TSAB eventually, so better to fight them now to prevent the possibility of the Firemen assuming command over the entire Guard.
>>20449609It'll only take approximately six hours to do, and we can't let the Orz run free. The worst case scenario on continuing our containment plan is that we are attacked by Firemen during the operation.
>>20449556Those enchantments were performed successfully.>>20449574>>20449575"Good. Good. Listen. Warning everyone else is a good idea, but we have GOT to get our sector under control. There's a lot of Moderates and Messiahs willing to take on the Firemen, but we're the only game in town here, and if we don't check..." Holtz coughs violently for a few seconds. "If we don't check the insanity running rampant here, it won't matter what happens back home. Not saying to ignore Page's betrayal, but you're going to have to prioritize."Holtz coughs again. "It... It is strange though. You're right in that some of this seems cliche. Some of the moves Black Ops have been making... don't seem to make much sense."
>>20449673We do need to stop putting it off and get those Orz contained. And we have to worry about that massive fleet that raped the hell out of Black Ops. Right now though, deal with the Orz.
>>20449673It could be rampant stupidity that comes only with a great amount of power and arrogance. But it seems unlikely that anyone would rise that high without some help. Perhaps there's someone behind the curtains who is placing these people at the heads of Black Ops?
>>20449609Keep up with the messaging, we need to get a more indepth plan about the Orz, so organize a meeting with our top science staff and tactical minds.Throw a party for The Great Fox Reunion party and inform them while we dont have any Arwings we have several other models of very effective fighters. Show Them, the Vertitech Fighters.
>>20449673Hamfistedly forcing things to be simplified into black and white, no matter how little sense it makes, sounds like SUE work to me....I just had a horrible thought. ANON, what is the possibility that the command crew have become SUEs, and as the Black Ops are our 'antagonists' they've been simplified to cartoon villains?Because if that is true I swear to god I will burn the meta down.
>>20449745Before the mystery fleet, we also need to settle things between New Chaos and the Void Engineers, before they can find and detonate another STOB.But yeah, Orz first.
>>20449805It wouldn't hurt to run a reality distortion scan on our ships anyhow. We probably need to do that more often.
>>20449805ANON: "Possibility 2.11462%.">>20449799Let me know when everything is finalized.
>>20449856When is the Indefatigable expected to arrive?
>>20449856...I can live with those odds.Better put Holtz back into whatever healing thing he has going on for him....Is there a chance that the BLU Engineer can fix his robotic body up?I mean he did modernize the life-extending machines for the Mann brothers.
>>20449856How many weapons were we able to successfully enchant?
>>20449799We should see if we can get ahold of some Arwing II plans. But until then, Fox, Falco and James are pretty damn good on food, Slippy is a damn good mechanic, and Peppy is good as a Tactical Strategist. So they can take up temporary positions there until we find a fighter they all like.
>>20450006We have some. We just can't craft it yet.
rolled 69 = 69>>20449971Ah right, I forgot. You have to make rolls for that in PF.>>20449883His cybernetic parts are fine, it's the organic stuff that's giving him trouble.>>20449870At the end of today.
>>20450019You manage to get the TG Squad and the MI's weapons enchanted.
>>20450019I'd like to have Vitun and Elaine go to Holtz.Elaine shall try ESUNA and other status clearing spells.Vitun shall attempt REMOVE CURSE.http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/r/remove-curse
>>20450093They've already tried them. No dice.
>>20450019Do we have a plan yet for attracting the Orz to where we're locking them in? Also, are we going to try and ask them for blueprints for their Orz Ships and Armor before we piss them off forever?
>>20450093Perhaps we should send Lyla and the Avatar as well; one of Lyla's abilities makes her Esuna spells more potent, and the Avatar can read the flow of mana within Holtz to see if there's a specific and effective way that we should go about curing him (along with the amplification bit).
>>20450151Could we have the Abjurers attempt to move the curse to an object. It seems to prevent healing magic, but magic to move it elsewhere may work.
>>20450159The plan thus far is to have Vitun summon a Couatl to use the Orz Emitter. The Orz Emitter will be located on a swift ship that can warp or execute microjumps very quickly, leading the Orz far far away from wherever the quarantine frame needs to be anchored and set (this might be Earth). If the ship carrying the Orz Emitter can lead on the Orz long enough, then we may be able to set up the Quarantine Frame uninterrupted for a fairly long amount of time. However, there was some conflict as to whether we should use a reinforced Al'kesh to carry it, or to use the Indefatigable. We may also want to sort out which capital ships we'll be using to guard the Quarantine Frame and hit those ships up with the dimensional protection wards. For the Abjurers, these spells count as level 6 wizard spells, so we need to be sure to make them count.
>>20450151Alright. So once the Indefatigable arrives, we summon a Coatl, and we get the Psi-Shield and the Orz Psi Emitter ready. We have the Abjurers cast Dimensional Wards on the Storm, the Indefatigable, and the VF-25's.We transit to the Fallout Canon, and the Indefatigable activates its transphase cloak and moves away.We contact the Orz, get the schematics for their ships and marine armor, and then leave for open space. We then have the Orz Psi Emitter activate, while the Quarantine Frame is deployed. The VF-25's protect the nodes as needed while the Storm protects the anchor node. The Indefatigable leads the Orz on a chase, and stays in warp as much as it can.
>>20450217Why exactly are we considering the Al'Kesh even getting hit?It can stay in hyperspace for days, when we only need 6 hours. The Orz don't have, or haven't used, any kind of hyperspace interdiction, and their travel in hyperspace looks to be completely mundane. As long as we stay in hyperspace the Orz can't shoot the Al'Kesh.
We may also want to set up teleportation interdictors on the ships we are using, if they do not already have them. When the Orz wise up to our plan and they find that they can't pull us, they will likely send tons of Orz Nemesis ships to try to overwhelm us and destroy the frame. Orz Nemesis ships are fairly fast and maneuverable, and their only armament in a single turreted heavy energy cannon (known as a Howitzer). Nemesis ships are fairly large (maybe a bit smaller than frigates), but are nimble ships. They can also launch power-armored Orz to board enemy ships and wreak havoc inside.
>>20450326Worst case scenario. They might have some method we don't know about. We also don't know if the Psi-emitter will work while in hyperspace.
>>20450326I'm sure someone would inform you that is incorrect. EVERYONE in Star Control 2 has an interdictor. If two ships meet in hyperspace, either can force the other out and confront them, though you can run away again.
>>20450400How much damage could a up-armored Al'Kesh take? In relation to the Indefatigable. We've seen the Orz Nemesis ships in action before, and presumably have sensor logs of their energy discharge.
>>20450350>>20450326In addition, we can assume that the Orz entity's influence is strong enough in these canons so that it may be able to send more and more Orz to the canon from *below*. If this is the case then we will probably need a ship that is capable of tanking more than a few hits, repelling power-armored borders, and can run away fairly well.
>>20450455Two shots from the primary weapon, you'd estimate. It would have to focus on evasion.
>>20450400MetaOP, we've got nearly 20 Portable Holo-Emitters.Could they be used throughout the Indefatigable to take the place of the crew? They're photonics, and so may not be vulnerable to the Orz *pulling* attacks.
>>20450481And the Indefatigable?
>>20450481I wish to cast these spells on the Al'kesh.http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/n/nine-livesTo give the pilot luck.http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/r/refugeTo bring it back to us right before we leave.http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/r/rapid-repairTo keep it completely repaired. If possible, can we put a scarab into it to keep using nanobots to repair it.
>>20450487I don't know about fully replacing, but you can use them for 90% of the crew complement at least.>>20450542You're not certain, but at least a good ten to twenty hits before the shields go. You think.
>>20450604. . . Damn it. I'd rather not chance losing the Indie, but it'll last a hell of a lot longer than an Al'kesh, especially with those buff spells I said.MetaOp. Would the Rapid Repair spell keep the shields at full as well as the hull?
>>20450604MetaOP, could we:1. Use these spells on the Indefatigable >>204506002. Put a Repair Scarab in one of the cargo bays after we remove the tracks, armor-plating, and essentially just leave the nanite repair module, control system, and power source.3. If we can replace 90% of the crew, we don't need the medical personnel since it'll be an all photonic crew for this mission. We may need to ask for Science and Tactical volunteers so that they can lend their experience to the holograms.
>>20450674No, but it would bring them back online quicker once failed as the shield systems would be subject to the repair effect.>>20450697Yes to all.
>>20450837Make it so.
>>20450837Okay.So, have the Hercules construct a Repair Scarab, and then have some engineers make the modifications.Have our science team map out the locations of where the Quarantine Frame nodes will be placed once deployed, so that the fighter pilots will be able to fly combat patrols. Also, assuming that we cast Dimensional Ward on the Storm, the Inde, and the Gunstar, will we have enough casts left to do the entire VF-25 squadron? Or will it have to be the TIE-D squadron? Finally, since the entire operation will require 6 hours, the Abjurers, once they cast their spells, can get Gated to Elysium for 6 hours Real-Time, then provide another set of Dimensional Wards to send reinforcements to the Storm at the last hour.Hour 1:Buff all ships in the first wave. Abjurers are Gated to Elysium.Hour 2:Ships transit to Fallout Canon, make contact with Orz, attempt to get their technology.Hour 3:Activate the Psi Emitter and deploy the Quarantine Frame.Hour 6:An entire day has passed in Elysium. Abjurers cast Dimensional Ward on AUH, Guardian, Valiance, VF-25 squadron, TIE-D Squadron, or remaining Squadrons. Ships then transit to reinforce the Storm.Hour 9:Quarantine Frame deployment complete.
>>20450933The Indefatigable, when acting as bait, will run as much as it can.If it needs to hide, it will activate its transphase cloak, deactivate the Psi Emitter, and activate the Psi-Shield.The crew is photonic, and the Psi Emitter and Coatl would be protected by the Psi-Shield. It should be an empty patch of space to the Orz's technological sensors, and to their psionic senses.
>>20450933We have about 18 casts so we can get about two sets of ships.
>>20450992First Wave:Oncoming Storm, Indefatigable, Gunstar, VF-25 (12), RVF-25, Gaia Gear, BrastaSecond Wave:All Under Heaven, Guardian, Valiance, Relentless, TIE-D Squadron (9), R-9C War-Heads (3), Galaga, Hyaku Shiki
>>20451102Actually, if we time that right, we may be able to do it so they cast the spells, go sleep a night in Elysium, then come back. That'd be about an hour wait instead of 6 hours.
>>204511362 hours. Damn I'm tired.

>>20451191So, new thrend tomorrow? No one has archived this,
>>20453397Fine. I'll get it then
>>20450933Additional:Have the Hercules create up to 50 Repair Scarabs additional with only 10 being Soulchipped. The 10 Soulchipped Scarabs will be networked to 4 sub-Scarabs, creating 5 Scarab Repair Teams of 5.1 Scarab Repair Team will be loaded on to each capital ship of each wave, and will us their nanite repair modules to repair damage done to the ships' hulls. They will be loaded onto the Oncoming Storm, All Under Heaven, Guardian, Valiance, and Relentless. In addition to repairing the capital ships, they can be used to repair the fighters and Mobile Suits when they are damaged.
Anybody archive this? When we going tomorrow?
>>20458372It's been archived already.MetaOP generally starts around 20:00-21:00 Server Time.Though he may start a new thread instead of continuing this one.
>>20458511Sometimes I surprise people and start early, though.Sometimes.
>>20459873Yep. It's a good thing certain people don't have this thread open in a window with an autoupdater.
>>20450933In Star Control 2, any race's ships required some captains of that race to pilot it. I'm not sure if such a requirement would adhere to us, but the portrait of the Orz shows a very alien interior, which seems to be filled with a fluid that the crew float in along with organic control panels. Also, all of the Orz's technology was conceived of and built by an eldritch abomination; it may be possible that all Orz Nemesis ships carry a little bit of the Orz entity within them, even if built by humans.
>>20460672It's not the ships we want. it's the power armor.
>>20460672So assume that their technology is compromised, that the design of the technology itself will call upon the Orz entity, like a computer worm spreading through nano-assemblers via infected RFID chips of People using the assemblers to back up their state vectors in a post-Singularity sci-fi book?Probable, given what we know about how Lovecraftian entities and technology work. So it's probably too dangerous to replicate their technology.
>>20460804Yes well, if we get the designs for them, we can have Egon, who is an expert in that sort of thing, go over them and make them not lovecraftian connected.
>>20460775We already have Starfleet technology and materials at our disposal, and a foundation for very strong battle armor from all the Clan technology blueprints that we have stored away. It's possible that we could home-grow a vacuum-sealed power armor that can be ferried on mobile suits and/or starfighters and then detach to bore holes in starship armor and then start wrecking the crew inside. But armored with Starfleet-grade materials and lugging around phaser arrays instead of lasers. Although it would take a research project or two for this to come to life. It'd also probably be easier to see if we can snag some plans for a ship that is intended for boarding actions.
Really, we don't need to mess with Orz tech. It's not to our benefit, and would take far too long to make useful for our purposes. Let's focus on doing what we need to do.Get our preparations done and everyone informed and ready to go; then let's get the Orz problem dealt with. We're on another timer, I think.>mfw Black Ops openly committing treason ON CAMERA
>>20461055Actually, it would probably be better to take the Mobile Infantry Marauder power armor, upgrade it with an E-115 power reactor and anti-grav flight system, and load it up with deflector shields, phaser arrays, a holo-emitter capable of hard-light holograms, a self-contained nanite repair system, and if we want to get really nasty, shoulder-mounted Mass Rifles (the Dark Matter Canon blackhole kind) and a Mass-Production Transpace Lance of Longinus. We have most of the parts already.
Well our priority is to contain the Orz, not to scavenge their tech. The only interest the Orz power armour could have for us is it's space flight capabilities. However I feel that getting boarding shuttles will be better then attempting to reverse engineer Orz tech
>>20461344Especially since the Marauder Power Armor, X-COM Flying Armor, and the Knight Inductor Space Marine Armor are all vacuum-sealed, and the X-COM Flying Armor has its own gravity drive system, that if we research Synthetic Elerium-115, we could make ourselves.
Okay, so, I'm seeing quite a bit of opposition to acquiring Orz technology. Are we removing that from our schedule?
>>20461430might as well. It'll let us do this quicker.
I need a .gif of Sonic tapping his foot impatiently.
>>20461396I can see it now:Marauder frame with X-com flight system, personal shield systems, Harjel sealing system, integrated BLU team dispenser, atmospheric sealing, a mass rifle on shoulder mount, exographic AP gauss rifle with melted-down Transspace Lance rounds, integrated phasers, battle-armor scale TSM, teleportation interdictior, magnetic clamps/treads, mini-nukes, and (C) ER Fuzzy Dice attachment.

>>20461799They don't need to wait a whole day for Wave 2. They just need to sleep. This will allow Wave 2 to be enchanted anywhere from 2 to 3 hours later instead of 6. That will reinforce our ships faster and protect us from loss.
>>20461787That's horrible, and I'm pretty sure she'll bonk you over the head with her official White Mage caster staff. And I'll laugh at you.But seriously.Get our prep done, and let's do this. It's time to tie up their *fingers*. And we shall never speak of them again! Ahhahahahaahhaa...
>>20461821Alright, if MetaOP will allow that, then we can have the Abjurers do that so that the Second Wave transits to the Storm's aid at Hour 4.Also, I forgot to note >>20461799 that we're using the 20 Portable Holo-Emitters we made for the Sector HQ, and any Mobile Emitters we can replicate when the Indefatigable arrives, to be the photonic crew of the Indefatigable.
>>20461763I've been sitting here since I posted "Sometimes I surprise you."I guess it's a taste of my own medicine, though.
>>20461938Right. MetaOp, we're nuking Canada. That'll take care of the Orz.
>>20461938Hey. I've been here. You could have BSed in IRC with me.
>>20461938You know that plan's been posted there since last night. And the only modifications we've made are not contacting the Orz, which you could have given us a final yes/no about when it was about to come up, and moving up the Abjurers from Hour 6 to Hour 4.You know this, right?
>>20461938Well, then let's get on with it.We've got a plan, so let's make it happen.
>>20461976I thought you guys were still making modifications.>>20461799Your preparations are made and the Couatl summoned. He is uneasy at first, but after Vitun explains the dire nature of the situation, the celestial cannot help but agree to aid you.The Indefatigable, and the Oncoming Storm, with the Gunstar, VF-25 (12), RVF-25, Gaia Gear, and Brasta safe in its hangar bays, transit to orbit over the deserted post-apocalyptic Earth. The Coautl activates the Orz Emitter as the Storm deploys the Quarantine Frame, the large satellite ejecting from its cargo bay accompanied by your engineering team for the initial set up.
rolled 27 = 27>>20462105A few moments after the Orz Emitter is activated, a strange sense of foreboding begins to settle in the pit of everyone's stomach. A feeling that grows steadily in intensity.
>>20462118A 27?Welp.Everyone, brace for a boss fight. Psionic shielding everywhere, please. Defend the Quarantine Frame! If possible, prepare to bullshit like we've never bullshitted before!
>>20462105>>20462118Have the Gunstar, the VF-25 Squadron, the RVF-25, Quattro and Crowe launch and take up defensive formation around the Quarantine Frame.Have the Indefatigable go to warp, heading away from us on a random heading. They are to use the planned hiding technique, to make the Orz believe that they are attempting to evade attention by Them.Have the Storm go to Red Alert, all weapons charged and ready.
rolled 40 = 40Space begins to contort, twist, and almost hemorrhage, as Orz ships begin to shimmer into existence all round the planet, a silvery flood. The Indefatigable begins to move away from the Storm as ships from the Orz fleet begin to give chase, looking almost like a tendril from a cloud made of ships. The other ships begin to fan out, moving erratically as ships stop arriving. A large area of space still shivers and pulses where they exited.
>>20462207Just to make sure, have the Psi-Shields on the Storm go up. It'll blind Cheryl, the Farseers, and the Psions, but it's a small price to pay for their safety from the Orz.
>>20462225Actually, the Psi-Shields should have been already up.
rolled 65, 97 = 162>>20462207Approximately half the Orz ships end up pursuing the Indefatigable as it leaves, the others slowly moving around the planet. An hour passes before they begin to move towards the Storm, and the satellite it defends.
>>20462285>>20461799ANON, what is the estimated amount of Orz Nemesis breaking off to engage us?

>>20462396Hail them and say "Hello. How have you been lately?"

>>20462485I was thinking we bluff them. They probably have no clue what this thing is.We'll just claim it makes *candy* and in ten hours, it'll be set up.

>>20462662Looks like the jig is up. They know that the Quarantine Frame is causing space-time distortions, and they recognize that it's making this space inhospitable to them.Looks like they also don't like the Orz Psi Emitter. We can try and bluff that we're trying to make *candy* with this machine, but I doubt that they'll believe it. We can still try though. And ask what they mean about the *clawscream* to keep them talking. We need to bring the Quarantine Frame Anchor Node into the Storm's protective fire envelope, while Crowe and Quattro get ready to intercept Orz Marines and the VF-25's get ready to take on the Nemesis ships.
>>20462662Clawscream is prodding you? What if somehow using his SUE powers and Immortal Spark, Starscream TOOK CONTROL OF THE ORZ!Should we see if we can help the Orz kill Starscream?
"The "travelable" space is becoming "tied up"! The "essence" we "took from the people we pulled" might not be enough "to let us leave"! There is "Psi-emitter" prodding us! That machine is not "Psi-emitter" but is "tieing up" space from "meta-barrier". Space will be "tied up" with "quarantine frame"!"Best translation I can get.
>>20462725Odd. One would think that the Orz entity would be able to quash SUEs like one would crush a bug. But SUEs have been shown to be able to strongly influence Chaos, even if they can't purify it. Perhaps the Orz entity's *fingers* are vulnerable to SUEs since it has to exist by the laws of RealSpace while not *below*.
>>20462662I vote for complete bullshitting. Codeki's line that amounts to "We're making *candy*." or whatever makes them happy might work.Under no circumstances do we confirm that we're deliberately doing this.Stall for as long as possible!

>>20462936"We're making candy for you, smooth candy!" Vitun says. There is a pause."You want to make us *smooth candy*? You are *squeezing* the *juice*!" the Orz reply."Yes! Exactly!" Vitun nods. "We want to be happy campers, so we're squeezing lots of juice with this machine for you.""*Jumping peppers!*" the Orz reply, speeding up. "You want to *squeeze the juice?* Orz also want to *squeeze the juice!* This is a fun time! It is *DANCING!*"

>>20462980Aw fuck. I think we just challenged them to a "friendly" battle between ships. *Squeeze* the *juice* is what they say when they want to kill something.
>>20462980Wow Orz. Your ships are so awesome! Can you show us how you make them?We know Campers to dance with. We will show you them. We shall dance together and squeeze their juice.

They like having their *juice* *squeezed* by *happy campers*. If you'll sit tight right there, we're gonna look around and see if we can find these *silly cows*. It may take a while though. You should check the planet there again just in case; they like to sneak around when you're not looking!"Or something like that. Make them really interested in hunting down the Grays instead of hanging out around here.
>>20462980Also be sure to tell them that the Greys look a LOT like some other race that they're familiar with. Ones with a penchant for *jumping in front* with flying saucers.
>>20463064double roll for bullshitting them on that too.FOR BULLSHIT!
We may still want our ships to be battle-ready in case this next bluff doesn't work so well. Or if the Orz are already intent on fighting us.

>>20463270Prepare to launch a full salvo from all weapons, a full spread of anti-matter missiles.Make sure that the the firing arcs are called out so that our fighters will be able to avoid fire from the Oncoming Storm. We need to try to delay the Orz as much as we can. Try to bullshit them more by asking about the Taalo, and if they've found them.
I can't think of any ways to bullshit them any longer.Should we "dance" with them guys?
>>20463349"Some *time* but not yet."Your talk isn't really slowing the Orz, they are communicating as they close the distance.
>>20463482Dammit, I wish we had mined this entire region with self-replicating stealth space mines from DS9.I think it's time to *dance*. Send a message to the Indefatigable that we've engaged the Orz.Make sure that the anti-teleporation fields are up, THEN fire all weapons into the main mass of the Orz ships.
>>20463482Have First Wave prepare for combat.Have all people inside prepared to repel boarders.Should Vitun or the other D&D casters see an Orz, they are to cast dismissal on them. It should send them "back."
Perfect time to LAUNCH MECHAGODZILLA!
>>20463482"So, what's been going on in the other *pretty space* that you guys were in? You know, the one with the New Alliance of Free Stars and all them ornery green caterpillars and black caterpillars?"
>>20463560Or not.>>20463482Orz. We like your toys. Will you share your toys with us?
>>20463560No, we're not launching Mechagodzilla. He doesn't have a dimensional ward, nor does he have the close-in point defenses needed to fight off Orz Marines.>>20463482Wait, let's ask them about the Alliance. While we get ready to shoot them.Come to think of it; how close are they? Are they close enough to launch Marines? If so, ignore talking and just fire.
>>20463605The Orz have almost closed to Marine range."Yes! We will *share* our technology!"
>>20463625"Thank you Orz. Please send us the plans then."Right before Marine Range, start attacking with Wave 1.
>>20463625>The Orz have almost closed to Marine range.Shit, all this time we thought WE were buying time, the Orz were actually buying time to get their Marines in range!Fire everything!
>>20463643Alright, we'll agree to them giving us the technology. But as soon as they close to Marine range we shoot them with everything we have.Macross Missile Massacre them with the VF-25's.
rolled 75 = 75>>20463648Pretty much.>>20463643"We will *share* our *toys* with you now!"Then the Howitzers on the first wave of Orz ships open fire just as your own weapons come to life...
>>20463695>75Hopefully that's enough to avoid casualties in the first hour of 6.We're now in for 6 Hours of Hell.
rolled 62 = 62>>20463695The Singularity Lasers on the Storm slice apart a pair of Nemeses as several Howitzer rounds slam into its shields, draining them dangerously. The missile bays aboard the Transpace Cruiser launch a salvo of anti-matter warheads that detonate in a widespread, ripping apart another six, and damaging four more.Your VF-25s fire a virtual storm of their anti-capital ship missiles, managing to match the missile bays of the Storm for damage as explosions blossom in the void of space. The two remaining Orz ships in the Vanguard group, heavily damaged as they are, are finished off by the Brasta and Gaia Gear just as they limp to close range. Following close behind them however, is the second wave, arranged in three "V" formations of 12 ships each. They are almost to Howitzer range.Orz in current wave: 36Orz remaining: 182
>>20463856>Orz in current wave: 36>Orz remaining: 182>remaining: 182Aw fuck. Singularity Lasers and Anti-matter missiles on time-on-target to incoming wave of Orz.Hellbore Cannon Turrets, Long-Range Laser Batteries, Railguns, and Plasma Batteries, fire at will.RVF-25, keep a look out for any attempts by the Orz to encircle us.Fighters and MS try to stay at stand-off range and engage with long-range weapons if you have them.
>>20463856Get the R-Types to a safe position, to fire in rotating sequence instead of volley-by-volley.
>>20463918R-Types are part of the Second Wave, which isn't here yet. We've still got to hold out for 2 more hours at least.
>>20463856Our direct-energy weapons, when they hit, do they penetrate? If so, direct fire control priority to enemy ships lined up so the turret can hit multiple targets. We need every advantage we can get. Our hangars are capable of through-deck resupply and refuel, right? If we have the creation engine, have it just start fabbing up armor pack missile launchers and fart them into space with a fire control uplink so we can just start spamming.
>>20463856Make sure Vitun "Lucks" all our rolls. he has 15 left today.
>>20463959The Creation Engine is specific to the Hercules, which we couldn't bring along because we didn't have enough Dimensional Ward spells ready.
>>20463993Then we're all retards for not bringing something that could have filled the entire battlespace with a shitton of essentially free, easily replaced and risk-free force multipliers.
rolled 8, 59 = 67>>20463959Some of them do, most notably the singularity lasers.>>20463902The singularity lasers slice through another pair of Nemeses to cut into a pair behind them, destroying four ships total as the missile bays fire another salvo that tosses around one of the incoming "V" formations like tennis balls in a tornado. Six are destroyed, and the rest damaged, as your Messiahs finish off the crippled vessels with long range missiles. The agile fighters are easily able to avoid the heavy railgun shots from the Orz.With its long range sniping mode, the Brasta manages to dispatch another Nemesis, but the Gaia Gear only manages to damage one with repeated beam gun strikes. The pinnacle Gundam darts in, out and around the ship, wearing it down as the frigate futilely attempts to get a lock on the mecha. A missile strike from the Gunstar as it roars past is what finally finishes it off.The remaining Orz continue to close range, the "V" formation still at full strength firing repeatedly at the Storm as the damaged one veers to attempt to intercept the VF-25s. The helmsman manages to engage the capital ship in evasive manuevers precise enough that one or two shots are avoided, but the sheer size of the Storm ensures that nearly all of them hit. Electricity sparks over the hull as the shields go down and the ship's armor takes damage, though it is swiftly repaired by the Scarabs set up for that purpose.Orz in current wave: 18Orz remaining: 166
>>20464354That should be 164, my bad.
>>20464354How long is each wave lasting?
Do you guys think we should take evasive action with the Storm while Vitun casts "Rapid Repair" on the Storm? Is the shield generators easily accessible by people? If so, would dispatching Elaine and white mages/Avatar/Lyla to the shield generators to amplify Elaine's healing spells make the shields go online faster, or actually restore shield strength?
>>20464354Attempt to get the shields back online as quickly as possible. Continue weapons fire, and don't forget to employ the point-defense lasers.>>20464018The Creation Engine and the Hercules cannot be separated, they weren't protected by the Dimensional Wards, and none of the Soulchip-compatible designs for vehicles is a space craft, and no space craft are currently in the Creation Engine Database. All of the missiles currently in the database are air-breathers and can't function in space. Finally, the Creation Engine is NOT unlimited in resources because it DOES need to collect raw materials for its Creation Engine.
I think we should have Vitun cast "Rapid Repair" on the ship while transporting Engineer to help get the shields back online. Rapid repair may help out with regenerating armor on the Storm, and it will also help with getting shields back online.
>>20464414 It'll get the shields up quicker, but not regenerate the shields.Anyways, the nano-bots from the Scarab do the same thing, but I suppose it couldn't hurt.
>>20464382Seconding both of these, probably a good idea.
>>20464374It's been about thirty minutes so far.Elaine and her cohorts hustle down to the shield generator room to attempt what aid they can as the Storm's weapons tear apart another 6 Nemeses. The remaining six continue to hammer the Storm, heavy railgun rounds punching through the ship's armor in several places. The magical spells and Scarabs are just managing to make up for the ship's utterly basic armor.Between the Brasta and the Gaia Gear, another two ships go up as the VFs conserve their missiles by closing and strafing. Two ships detonate despite, or perhaps because of their launch of Marines to attempt to board the fast-moving fighters.Orz in current wave: 8Orz in next turn's wave: 42Orz remaining: 156TO BE CONTINUED
>>20464578>attempt to board the fast-moving fighters. The VF-25 comes equipped with its own fold-space FTL drive. It can do a micro-fold jump if an Orz Marine gets too close, or use its Pin-Point Barrier to burn up the Marine. When's the next session going to be, MetaOP?
>>20464603Not sure, tomorrow maybe. I want to get this thing done.
>>20464578At the rate this is going, we may want to have the Storm duck back to provide long-range fire support while the AUH and the other star destroyers move up in the line to soak up hits and unleash devastating close-range firepower.
>>20464603>>The VF-25 comes equipped with its own fold-space FTL drive.>>It can do a micro-fold jump if an Orz Marine gets too closeNo it can't. The FTL drive is an externally-mounted booster. It has to open a window and then move through the window.
>>20464834>>20464898Our VF-25's should have Fold Boosters equipped. We've been using the Fold Booster on the RVF-25 for a while now.Regardless, the Pin Point Barrier should still be able to prevent Orz Marines from latching on, or dislodge them if they do latch onto the fighter.
>>20465041Armor and Tornado Packs are not compatible with the fold booster unless you sacrifice wing pylon space for one.
