Recently: You battled General Harris of Team Imperium and his twisted mutant Pokemon to buy time while your friends got away. You tried to escape yourself, but things didn't go as planned.

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.

Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear vote winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just three 1d100s. Sometimes you can get a modifier from circumstances, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever! This is not a video game. Weak moves tend to be quicker.

Call me out on a mistake and receive an apology butt or suggestive picture.

Good morning Gobble.

Sleep well?
>>
Yeah, baby!
>>
Oh boy, with the last thread I'm expecting one of three things.

>The cavalry arrives and surrounds the Imperium grunts.

>That guy makes us finish the battle.

>Straight to Hornbeam's lair. Not good since our current team is weakened by the events of the previous threads.
>>
Oh boy, time to Gobble.
>>
[Before we get started. I know that some people aren't happy with the current arc. What I've put for an update is pretty close to how I was planning on presenting things before emotions ran a little high last night. I hope it doesn't come off too much as railroading or copping out, because I honestly feel like it makes sense given everything that's happened in the quest. I probably sound a bit rambling right now, so I'll just go ahead and post it and we'll take it from there.

I'm super tired and this probably won't be a very long thread. Sorry.]
>>
>>48800164
Look at pokemon on us and Not in party.

I think at the least, we're in transit to Hornbeam's lair.
>>
>>48800203
Really hoping for that cavalry/rescue then.
>>
>>48800200
Fair enough.

And take this as a compliment:

You've made Team Imperium into pokemon's equivalent of the Nazis and your players are genuinely scared of being captured by them.

That's quite an achievement, even if it means you've done your job a little too well with them.
>>
>>48800240
Aren't we all?
>>
>>48800200
Don't worry Gobble, anons can deal. I'm sure it'll be good!

Go! Go! You and your Pokemon push for everything you have. Somehow, some way, you make it into the cabin. The escape tunnel is plain to see. Dan, with you riding, rushes into it. Devon keeps a few feet behind to Roar at the doorway. You have your chance and you all go into the tunnel. Robin and a few others are deep in there, waiting to collapse it behind you. You encourage your Pokemon to move as fast as they can.

You’re jerked back. Robin’s face turns to panic as you see an almost instant distance between you and Dan and Devon. Dan tries to slow and turn. Devon does an about face after seeing you no longer on Dan. But it’s too late. The tunnel collapses in front of you. The last thing you see is Robin’s dimly lit face as others pull her back and the entrance is collapsed.

You’re captured.

The rest feels like a dream. Fighting to hold onto your Pokeballs. Being put into a cage and taken to Mount Harmony. There’s even a show trial to try to delegitimize you and your allies. All the time you wait for when Hornbeam crushes your mind.

But it never comes. Maybe he’s busy. Maybe he thought it would be too obvious in the show trials. You spend your time in a cell with other trouble makers. Violet is there. She doesn’t talk much. She just sits in her corner. Thinking. She hasn’t seen her Pokemon since she was caught.

You stop thinking of the future. What’s the point? Why even worry? You can’t do anything.

Then the notes start coming. They’re snuck in with your food.

The first one is the most important. “Your Pokemon are safe. Don’t give up.”

There’s a picture of a banana with it. It has to be one of the Team Imperium members that you and your friends rescued in the ruins. Quinn and his Tropius, Zoe, and the others. For the first time since being captured, you break down and cry. But it’s the best cry of your life.

More notes come in every day. It paints a picture. The show trial just riled people up. From the time you spent helping trainers at the league, to the many trainers you’ve given help to on your journey, to the karaoke cafe robbery you stopped, the hotel you helped with their ‘haunting’ problem, the cruise ship you defended against the Gyarados attack, and everything else, people are on your side. You’ve become something of a symbol.

Hornbeam has been cutting himself off from the problems popping up everywhere. He’s grown isolated, consumed in his work. Apparently he’s close to having something that will solve all the problems.

The note you’ve been waiting for comes with breakfast. “Tonight.”

There’s some very tiny writing on the back and some maps. It details the plan. They’ll cut power and open the doors for your group to get in. The Elite Four and gym leaders, along with the good members of Team Imperium, will stop Hornbeam. It’s almost over.

They search the prisoners every day before bedtime. There’s no way to smuggle anything. But today is different. The person smuggling notes can get you something small. The Pokeballs for Raistlin, Aria, Destiny, and Levi are hidden somewhere in the base.

You’ve been thinking about Dialga. As far as you know, summoning it for help can be done by playing it’s song on that ancient flute. So that might be an option.

If all goes well, you might be able to grab the rest of your stuff at some point, but what you start with might make all the difference.

Well, obviously.
Hornbeam is way to big a problem to have grudges come into play here, and she probably hates the horrible pokemon experiments done to make the mutants. She just needs to get her hand on *a* pokemon and our chances automatically double too.

Is it weird that I think she's one of the better choices for rehabilitating the mutants?

>>

No, she is probably the best choice, just might want to have the League watch her so we don't have the opposite of Team Imperium to deal with.

As epic as the Yellow arc in the manga was, I don't think we particularly want to be dealing that shit when Violet is at least somewhat in Mewtwo's 'good' graces.
>>
You ask for Aria’s Pokeball. She’s powerful, but small. Perfect for sneaking or fighting your way through.

You mediated and bonded with Violet for most of your time.

Being locked in a cell with someone gives you a lot of time to talk. Violet spent the first while not saying or doing much. When she first saw you though, she temporarily perked up and hugged you. You guess a familiar face, even to someone like her, was a welcome sight.

When she hugged you, you...

>Hugged back, hard

Violet hugged you hard. You gave a few polites on her back and let her decide when to break it off.

She thought that maybe you had a way out, or at least news about her Pokemon. She looks crushed when you don’t. She retreats into her little corner, saying little.

She didn’t ask about Robin or Robert.

When the notes started coming in, you...

>Didn’t tell her. She’ll never change
>Didn’t tell her how you know, but assured her you’d both get out of here and stop this

There was a small fight when you asked her about her family. She tells you that it’s none of your business. You say she’s acting like it’s none of hers. You were willing to walk away, but she pushed you. You pushed back.

Guards broke you up. You both paid for it with some hard hits from batons, but you’re both tough. After. You sat down and talked. She explained that there were two possibilities. First, if something happened with Robin or Robert you would have said something. Second, if something did happen, she wouldn’t want to know. She couldn’t handle that and losing her Pokemon at the same time.

It’s not the best logic, and you don’t know if you believe that, but at the same time, if she wanted to really manipulate you she’s usually good enough not to miss a detail like asking about her family.

You decided to reach out and assure her that things are going to be okay. You don’t tell her how you know, but you assured her you’re not just talking out of your butt.

“I’ve been working on an escape plan” She confided in you after. “But I’ll need your help.”

She produced a small card key. She got it off of the guard when they broke up your fight. Classic move.

The plan didn’t work, of course. But...

>But you tried to take all the blame to spare her from punishment
>But you helped her find out where her Pokemon were
>You tried to talk her out of it. It was a dumb plan. After that though, she began letting you call the shots

You thought you had a shot to get out, but you stopped for only a minute to check on what happened to her Pokemon. For a long time you thought it turned out to be a minute you didn’t have, but after the notes revealed more of the floor plans you realized the escape plan was doomed from the start anyway. In a way that made you feel better about failing.

Her Mewtwo is in Hornbeam’s inner lab. There’s no news about it other than that.

But you did learn where her other Pokemon are. They’re in a much less guarded lab where they’re working on mega-evolution. The experiments are attempts to evoke emotions from them to trigger it and also to see how they differ from other Pokemon. It’s mostly benign.

Mostly.

She’s very relieved to hear that. She appreciates you finding that out.

Violet did end up finding her own way to get information. You’re not sure how, but her insistence that she’s a divorced and single women gives a clue. She lets you know what she knows. A lot of it is info you’re already privy too, but there’s some info about what Hornbeam is up to that chills you to the bone. He thinks he has a way to capture legendary Pokemon and use it to change reality itself. That sounds far fetched, but at this point, you’re willing to believe anything.

As the time goes on, you both spend time talking a lot about Robin. She tells you embarrassing stories about her childhood and you laugh, feeling a little guilty sometimes. The one where she lost a spelling bee because the judges mistook her stutter for a spelling mistake was heart wrenching, but Robin’s reaction when she called the judge a f-f-f-fucker makes you burst into laughter. Robin was mortified after and never swore again until she met you.

It’s easy to run out of things to talk about with so much time together and nothing to do, though. You spend a long time meditating. You share food, small secrets, and inside jokes.

But with your time in prison coming to an end, you know that things can change.

From what you can tell, Violet is being genuine in bonding with you. She’d have to be the world’s most dedicated psychopath to be faking it at all hours of the day, right? She’s only human.

If you sum up how you felt about her now, you would say...

>You trust her for the most part, but you wouldn’t test that too much
>You trust her completely. You’ve bonded for life
>She’s faking everything, but you’re letting her think you’ve fallen for it
>She’s an ally against Hornbeam, but an enemy otherwise

This seems the most reasonable option.

Violet is still Violet, still have a plan just in case. She could also be mind controlled.

I figured her craziness was a result of Mewtwo since the moment we heard she'd gonna out looking for it, but that's no guarantee that him being out of her hands (or vise versa) means she's totally nice again.

What if Hornbeam is dumb and crazy enough to splice himself with Mewtwo cells like he did that one guy we caught?
>>
>>48802684
He'll wind up like Blaine in the manga, but probably won't do nearly as well.

Likely, he'd corrupt and devolve into a Ditto.
>>
>>48802684
Would NOT be surprised if that was actually what he was doing.
>>
>>48802684
Then we go into the mind with psychic bullshit because their personalities are so different.
>>
>>48802684
I don't know, Imperium's shtick is that humans are.superior to Pokemon isn't it? Merging with one doesn't seem to stick with that ideology. For that matter, Pokemon superiority is Mewtwo's deal too so it wouldn't take that kind of plan very well either I should think.
>>
>>48800282
Maybe it's cause I only just finished reading the last thread a couple of hours ago, but this post killed my enthusiasm hard. Not sure what I was expecting/hoping for, but this isn't it. I'll read it in the morning, but I want to say thanks Gobble for doing your best.
>>
>>48802854
That and Mewtwo is scary strong.

He gets the chance, he's going to vaporise Hornbeam.
>>
>>48802899
Speaking of Mewtwo, he is basically the apotheosis of genetically engineered pokemon already. I don't think he would take any of this well at all.

You’re willing to trust her here and now, and you think she has the potential to reform, but you know she’s still crazy and has a long way to go. You trust her and her intentions for the most part, but not her craziness.

You know, there’s something bugging you as you think back about that so called escape plan of hers. It wouldn’t have led out, but you would have gone right to Hornbeam’s secret projects lab. Considering what you knew at the time, it seemed like a reasonable path, but if she knew something you didn’t, she might have been trying to get in there instead of outside instead.

You could also just be getting paranoid.

Your food comes in and there’s a Pokeball inside. You casually pocket it. The temptation to take Aria out right now is killing you, but you have to wait until the power goes out.

It’s almost time.

You glance to Violet. You haven’t told her about the plan yet.

>Fill her in and have her come along with you
>You’ll lock her in the cell as soon as you’re out. She’s a wild card
>Let her do what she wants when you break out

No.

The First Movie is going to be small fry compared to how unrelentingly pissed Mewtwo is going to be after this.

Next step is get her pokemon and ours, whichever are closest first.

If there's a PC, now is the time to either swap around or fuck the rule of six.

You decide to fill her in. It’s hard not to spill it all at once, but you have to be careful by parsing it out in small bits between times when the guards walk by or when you’re talking too long and they get suspicious.

She’s giddy.

“It’s really time.”

You nod. It’s hard not to get excited.

The lights flicker out. This is it.

There are two guards. One in the hallway right outside the cell, and one in the security room at the end of the hall. The guards that have been helping you are busy letting your allies in right now. These two are real enemies.

They’ve rigged the door system so that instead of locking when the power goes out, they’ll be open. You should be able to just walk out.

>Throw out Aria and have her attack the two guards as quickly as she can
>Try to grab and subdue the first guard in the dark. They won’t expect you being able to get out

[Hey everyone. I'm sorry to do this but I have to leave a bit early. I won't be posting another update in this thread, but I'll be reading it later and counting the votes for the next thread.

If you have requests suggestions for the next lewdbin, let me know. I know there are a lot of different ideas that I haven't gotten to yet and sometimes I get forgetful, so sorry if I'm making you repeat any.

As always, please don't be shy with general quest suggestions, criticism, notes, and anything else as well. There will either be a lewdbin or another thread between now and next weekend. I wish I could be more specific but my work schedule isn't clear. I won't be free on Monday, Tuesday or Friday, but Wednesday or Thursday or strong possibilities. I'll update twitter when I know for sure.

Thanks again for coming and have a wonderful night!]

Night Gobble! Can't say this current arc's my cup of tea, but your writing still makes it fun!

Night Gobble.

And not a lewdbin, but something diabetes sweet with just hanging out with our team after this is all over would be great.

I know. I just mean the post-tournament arc as a whole though. Gives me flashbacks to the shitshow that was RWBY, even though this one was well-written and properly foreshadowed
>>
>>48803520
Thanks for running, Gobble. I actually think this is a big improvement over the last few threads.

>lewdbin

I've made the suggestion before, but maybe some more giddy, shy exhibitionism stuff with Robin? That one was by far my favorite lewdbin, and I would love to see something where Robin has to streak or she just winds up getting exposed in a more public setting, then has to scamper back to her hotel room just in time for Kat to take advantage of her and tease her some more.

If I can have that, I will be very happy.

Lewdbin suggestion: more Kat/Robin/Clair diabetes

Honestly, Imperium would be worse than that if we don't succeed.

Thanks for running Gobble!
