My name is Cecile, and I'm sixteen years old. I already thought my life was odd, what with my parents having moved halfway across the country for their new job and leaving me in the care of my older sister... but then my best friend went and had a book shipped to my house that ended up giving me superpowers.

Thanks to said superpowers, I've been dragged into all sorts of horrible situations, the latest of which involves a masked thief who wanted revenge against me for killing a friend of his.

...but now it seems that HE'S dead too. I can't say that I'm sorry for that, either.

A few minutes after Theresa leaves, Charlotte walks over to the door and makes sure that it's closed.

"I guess now the only thing left for us to do is to move our things," she sighs.
"Huh?" I squint. "Move what?"
"Well there's no way we'll be able to stay here tonight... not that I think that you'd want to."

She then spreads her arms as if presenting the scene of carnage around us.

"Even with our father's cleaners, it's going to take at least a full day to get rid of those severed limbs and set the room back in order... not to mention replacing all the furniture and everything else that's been destroyed."
"Crap, you're right," I sigh.
"I've already got the other main suite on this floor reserved for just such an occasion, but I can call a cab for you if you'd prefer to go back home."

"It's pretty late so I guess I'll stay here with you," I say, shrugging.

The moment those words leave my mouth, Charlotte breaks into the biggest, most relieved smile ever.

"Alright then," she chirps, "I'm going to go down to get the key to the room so you two gather up what you'll need overnight and I'll be right back!"
"Kaaaay," Gabrielle says, nodding Shary's head.

"Alright," I nod. "Not like this'll take very long anyways."
"See you in a bit!"

Charlotte hurries for the door, but I call out to her before she can step through.

"Eh?" she glances back at me. "Is something the matter?"
"Your hair," I say, pointing to the corresponding place on my own head. "You still have chunks of TV in it."
"Dammit..."

After picking out the piece of broken plastic that I brought to her attention, Charlotte runs her fingers through her hair in hopes of combing out any other stragglers. There's a lot.

"Is there anything else wrong that I should know about before I go downstairs and make a fool of myself?" Charlotte asks, turning to us.

I give her a good look-over...

"Umm," I point at her face. "There's a little bot of, umm..."
"CAAW!" Loki bobs his head around from his perch on my shoulder.
"God damn it, is this BLOOD?"

And that's how Charlotte's departure got delayed for another five minutes.

Charlotte leaves after she finally manages to wash away all of the awfulness that got on her during that... thing that happened. And once she does, I turn to Gabrielle and give her fluffy hair a nice, long rustling.

"What are you doing."
"Relieving stress," I reply. "And your hair is the perfect fluffiness for the task."
"Well cut it out," she says, batting my hand away just as I was starting to feel the full relaxing effects. "I'm still pissed off."
"About Faceless?" I ask.
"About him and about getting felt up and about being too much of a wuss to actually TELL Oscar that I like him," she groans. "Charlotte went and hugged him and she's not even INTO guys but I couldn't even get out a full sentence before losin' my nerve."

She then walks away from me into the not-quite-murder scene.

"Alright," I laugh, "but it's an open offer if you ever change your mind!"

Ah, yeah. There it is, sweet beloved stress relief. Even at a time like this, messing with Gabrielle is the perfect thing to soothe my messed-up mood.

And so, I enter the bedroom with my spirits lifted ever-so-slightly lifted and stroll over to the dresser where my clothes are kept. But before opening it up, I pick Loki up from off my shoulder and place him on the top of the dresser.

"Wait here until I'm done, okay?" I ask the cute little crow. "I don't want to risk you falling over while I'm digging around in here."

I have no idea if he even understood what I just said but he responds to it with a long CAAW regardless.

Since all the clothes I have here (aside from what I'm wearing) are my usual duds, it doesn't exactly take much effort to pick something out. A pair of jeans, a t-shirt, a jacket... underwear...

And then my eyes stray to the corner where I keep the "fancy" underwear I have and I immediately begin berating myself for being so screwed up as to entertain thoughts of pushing Charlotte down TONIGHT after everything that's just happened. And even if I -wasn't- witness to a literal bloodbath not even a halfhour ago, there's still the fact that Gabrielle's here to consider.

Christ I am such a pervert.

Even I have some dignity left.

But it's not like it'd hurt anything if I wore them anyways... whatever, I'm just going to do it. There'll be no difference if nothing happens, and in the event that something -does- happen then I'll be glad I too the initiative now.

And that's why I take them, and duck into the bathroom for a quick change.

Or at least that was the plan.

"Dammit..." I say, biting my lip as I struggle to undo the hooks in the back of this dress that keep it on.

This is one of the reasons why I wear what I usually do instead of the fancy dresses like Charlotte and Gabrielle wear- these things are a pain in the ass to take on and off, especially when compared to a simple t-shirt and jeans combo.

The things I do for love...

Once my struggle with ladies' formalwear has finally ended, I step back out into the bedroom and finish gathering up tomorrow's change of clothes, putting the smaller stuff in a bundle with the larger articles of clothing on the outside for ease of carrying.

I'm so smart!

After finishing with that, I shove the bundle under my arm and reach out for Loki...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH WHAT THE HECK!!!?" Gabrielle shrieks, startling me, Loki AND Milla.

Milla books it out of the bedroom and towards the site of Gabrielle's screaming, and I'm not too far behind. Passing through the bloody scenery, we come to a stop in front of the TV... where she's kneeling down in a pile of shattered glass, bent metal and broken plastic.

"Gabrielle, are you okay!?" I call out.
"No I'm not okay!" Gabrielle cries out. "Just look at this!"

She holds up one of her consoles' controllers, and the first thing I notice is that its LCD screen is completely smashed to hell.

"Oh man," I grimace.
"TWO of my controllers AND my Wii U AND my PS4, too!"

Gabrielle punches the floor.

"All of them! They're ALL broken!" she cries. "All my gamesaves that me and Shary and you made..."

Aww man... I remember when one of Mina's consoles died and it took all her saves and she was absolutely MISERABLE until Marcus told her that you could remove-

"Oh yeah!" I snap my fingers. "Gabrielle, aren't the saves on a card inside? Or like a hard drive or something?"
"Ah-" Gabrielle gasps. "Crap, you're right! Shary!"

She hugs the stuffed cat that's on the floor next to her.

"We might be able to recover everything!" Gabrielle says, smiling from ear to ear. "C'mon, you get the PS4 and I'll try with the Wii..."

But she stops once she picks up the console.

"...I just remembered that this one doesn't have a removable hard drive," Gabrielle mumbles. "So the only hope I have of getting my stuff back is to send it in to the shop."
"Oh," I wince. "Crap, I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault," she replies with a heavy sigh. "It's all that stupid dick's fault for throwing Charlotte at the TV."

Shary taps Gabrielle on the shoulder and hands her the newly-reclaimed hard drive from her other console.

"At least we have this one," she says in a ragged, monstrous voice. "And your laptop was in the other room so we didn't lose that data."
"I guess," Gabrielle mumbles while puffing out her cheeks.

"First he touches my boobs and then be breaks all my stuff," Gabrielle groans. "He's lucky he's already dead or I'd friggin' murder him."

The thought to burn up his leg that's still in here with us (still blacked out too) pops into my mind but I'm not exactly fond of desecrating the bodies of the dead.

"We can always make new highscores together, you know," I say, trying to be cheerful. "Isn't that the fun part?"
"It's not the same," Gabrielle says as she stands back up and grabs Shary. "But thanks for trying to cheer me up."

With a heavy sigh, Gabrielle places the other console's hard drive inside Shary's head and pulls out her phone like it's some kind of bizarre exchange.

"Umm, you're calling your Dad?" I ask.
"Calling Kevin to pick me up," Gabrielle mumbles. "I want to replace what I can right away and if I leave right now maybe I'll be able to go on that raid with Mina and Sun-Mi tonight."

"If that's what you want," I say. "You sure you're gonna be alright, though?"
"Yeah, I'm just pissed off," Gabrielle mumbles. "'Cuz today SUCKED."
"The past hour or so really did overshadow everything els,e huh," I sigh.

Before we're able to get much further into our brooding, we're alerted by the sound of the lock opening. More than happy to leave this ugly scene, we head into the kitchen just as Charlotte steps into the suite.

"I've got the card," she say,s holding it up for all to see.
"Great," I nod.
"We can get out of here once I gather my things."

She then turns to Gabrielle.

"Sorry about your games," she says, patting her little sister on the head.
"So am I," Gabrielle mumbles.
"You sure you want to leave?" she asks. "Because if you wanted to-"
"It's okay, I'll be fine," she cuts her sister off. "I needed to get some air anyways."

Gabrielle gives both of us a nice long hug before grabbing her things and leaving.

Charlotte takes a few steps towards me, but then comes to a sudden stop. I think I see her ears twitching?

"Damn, that's right," she groans. "The cleaners. They're already on the way up so I really ought to get everything ready before they make it here... would you mind helping?"
"No problem," I shrug. "Whatever you want me to do will be done."
"Thanks," she replies, kissing me on the cheek.

Charlotte then hands me the keycard for the other room and I spend the next few minutes taking a few trips back and forth. First I escort Milla over there, then I remember that I forgot to bring my clothes, then I remember that I forgot to bring Loki too...

In all, I run like six laps back and forth between the stuff I forgot and the extra stuff that Charlotte leaves out for me to bring too. Her clothes, toiletries for the both of us, food for her animals... but before my feet starting hurting -too- much, the final trip into the temporary suite is completed.

Just in time for me to remember that I have yet to eat dinner.

After me and Charlotte get done putting everything away, we head into the living room. I take a seat on this suite's nice intact couch while Charlotte falls onto the floor back-first. The thud that ensues sounds like it hurts, but she doesn't seem to mind so I decide not to press the issue.

Instead, I lean back and let out a long sigh while watching Loki and Milla curl up next to their "mommy."

"Today sucked," I groan.
"It really did," Charlotte sighs. "Aside from our date, anyways."
"Aside from -most- of our date," I mumble.
"Yeah..."

Both of us groan in unison.

"I'm gonna be nice enough to not demand that you keep your promise to cook my dinner, though," I say. "At least for tonight."
"How kind of you," Charlotte laughs. "I take it that you brought up dinner because you're hungry? Because I sure as hell am."

"Yeah, I guess it's not a surprise that you wouldn't have as much of an appetite tonight," Charlotte says with a wistful smile.
"Don't act like I'm some kind of glutton now," I reply while sticking my tongue out at her. "You ate more than I did."
"Yeah, yeah," she sighs. "I know full well that there's only one thing that you're insatiable ab-"

Charlotte slaps her hands over her mouth, but it's too late for her to even try to hide what she was referring to. And even if it wasn't, the way she's blushing right now would give it all away.

"Miss Gauthier," I say, rising from the couch and walking over to where she is, "was that a complaint or an invitation?"
"I didn't mean it either way," Charlotte says while looking away from me. "Now cut it out, I'm trying to clean up."

As she reaches for the pizza box on the table, I slip my arms around her waist and pull in close. While Charlotte may not have the level of muscle tone that Theresa has, her abs are still firm enough for me to be able to feel through the fabric of her dress.

"Really, this isn't funny," she moans.

My running more times this past month than I have in the previous three combined were so that I could at least see a proper end to this chapter.

If only.

And now I sleep. Thanks for playing!

Nah, at this points it’s pretty much guaranteed to happen. It went off far better than expected, the mods changed the most glaringly stupid rules/settings, one of the mods seemed to be creepily obsessed with the idea of a quest board and many of the larger QMs have either migrated to other sides or accepted /qst/.

Even though I would still prefer quests to happen on /tg/, /qst/ turned out to be an acceptable alternative for me.

Now.
Normally I don't get my feelings hurt on the internet.
Especially not by fictional characters in a fictional world making fictional decisions.

But this?
This triggered me.

You don't go back on your deals because of muh feelings.
You don't get a free pass on your responsibilities because "oh no a stress, muh PTSD"
You agree to cook dinner?
You cook some goddamn dinner.
And if a person won't stick to their agreements? You force them to stick to their agreements.

You didn't say "the winner of bumper cars makes dinner, but not if we get stressed about being attacked by faceless and killing the guy"
You KNEW you were gonna get attacked.
You KNEW that someone was gonna get their shit wrecked in combat.
It was actively on your damn mind when you made the wager.
And you wish to back out now, because "muh feels"?

No.

No, go fuck yourself you unreliable piece of shit. Your feelings do NOT get you out of cooking the fucking dinner that you fucking agreed to cook.
Fuck every single one of you for letting your girlfriend be an unreliabe piece of shit because of her feelings.

An unreliable girlfriend who puts "muh feelz" ahead of her fucking duties (which she FUCKING AGREED TO) as your girlfriend is a really shitty girlfriend, and I am disgusted that you'd allow Charlotte to neglect her duties in this way.
Even if she's fictional, it sets a precedent, that a girl can just "muh feelz" her way out of her damn job.
And that is not okay.

"You don't have to do what you agreed to do because of muh feelz"
Fuck you.
You pieces of shit.

Was the deal really to get a meal cooked on that very evening? I’m not invested enough to check, but I only remember it being for Charlotte to cook a meal for CC. No time frame given.

In fact, had I been aware of a time-frame being discussed, I would have argued against doing it that evening, on account of a) expecting Gabrielle to be there and b) the high likelihood of the group being busy until late at night. (Faceless could have attacked at midnight for all we knew.)

Doesn't specify that the dinner WASN'T for tonight, either.

But I suppose you're right. If the agreement was for one(1) dinner then I guess you could wait until you'd get a dinner made with less tiredness.

Personally I'd demand the dinner on the same night, because A. She agreed to it, and B. You don't get to use stress to get out of your agreements.
Even if the dinner is shit, it sets up the very important rule in the relationship that you stick to your agreements.
>>
>>47437246
You are literally wrong about the premise of your argument. You even admit to it! And then you try to pretend that "A." or "B." are still true or relevant?

To be more clear: A, she didn’t and B, the circumstances are part of the spirit of the agreement. The point wasn’t to eat food made by Charlotte, the point was to get a romantic experience in the form of dinner + whatever that entails.

Please don’t cling to the results of your reasoning if said reasoning has been proven false. That’s putting the cart before the horse, as the saying goes.
>>
>>47437300
>A, she didn’t
Huh. So agreeing to dinner meant that she could set the time of the dinner, even though we won?
That's dumb. But ok.

Wait, what the fuck?
>>47435764
Arch literally gives us the options to "invoke the conditions of our previous wager"
as in we could get that dinner tonight.
As in it fucking IS us that can choose the dinner tonight
as in it WAS part of the agreement that we could get the damn dinner tonight

"Spirit of the agreement" my ass. The "spirit" of an agreement has no place in a discussion because you can't prove what the spirit was.

>The point wasn’t to eat food made by Charlotte, the point was to get a romantic experience in the form of dinner + whatever that entails.
I disagree.
The point was to tease Charlotte. Arch loves his spaghetti and his bullying, and that wager is part of it.

So, in summary.
We made an agreement
That could be invoked tonight
To shove in our GF's face that we can tease her,
And doing so tonight would in fact tease her.

Where the fuck do you come off saying "wrong about the premise of the argument", bro.

If you ask me I'd be embarassed for YOU.

If you agree with your GF that she cooks you dinner if she loses a bet
While it's true that it doesn't specify that the winner of the bet can choose the time of the dinner (This is true. I will give you this. It really should've been made more clear)
If the loser chooses, the loser can always choose "in the future", and therefore not uphold their end of the bet.

Though I suppose this just makes it obvious that you need to be more specific when determining the terms of agreements.
There wouldn't be a disagreement if it were more clear.
I suppose I didn't exercise due dilligence in confirming with archelon what the dinner bet means. I guess that's my fault. Oh well.

I’ll only reply to a small part of your post because I consider it sufficient and central enough to not be buried in a larger post.

>So agreeing to dinner meant that she could set the time of the dinner
This is not what anyone argued. This is also not what happened.

No time was mentioned in the initial agreement. CC decided not to call in the bet that night. Charlotte agreed afterwards.
