It’s been a week, and you’re bored as all hell. Between not-quite-drifting into lifeboats because your engines are toasted, taking inventory of all the semi-ruined things you didn’t need to pitch, and making a crude fishing net out of broken fishing nets, you were busy enough to always have something to do and not busy enough to not think.
>SHIP INVENORY
>FUEL: 2
>FOOD: 4

>GEAR: Fishing Rig (Poor), Toolkit (+2RP), map (North Atlantic), Solar Still (Poor)
Unfortunately, you’re stuck in a needs versus wants situation here. You NEED to get a means of getting fresh water faster than your solar still made it. You WANTED to get moving, find more lifeboats, and try to find people and loot and maybe a boat that was less shit. With the radio toasted, you were reduced to watching out from the flying bridge like some moron of old. At least you had finally started to tan- your Middle-Eastern soup heritage would certainly help in that respect, although you planned on working really hard to avoid getting Terrorist Hair. You were not going to deal with the Terrorist Ali jokes again, especially since the last round of “Fuck Euros, Draw Aggro” from ISIS before things went to shit.
You sincerely hoped those fuckers had become zombies and ate each other to death. Serves them right. Now you had to get to work and pick between the engines and the stills…

Build stills, basics of survival must be guaranteed, we can't guarantee that we can find a better ship in time.

Shouldn't be too complex to just distill seawater. We can even use the resulting sea salt to flavor some of the fish we catch, or cure extra fish if we get a good haul for a day.

Well, time to make sure your pants are firmly on your ass and not your head and get to work. Survival always comes first, so the order of operations here is fairly set. Make sure you can not die, then soup up this shit-cruiser into something worthy of carrying your black ass around in style. Until that point, though, it was time to Build Things

As far as pieces of equipment go, condenser stills are fairly easy to build in theory.
In practice, when you have jack shit to build them with, the mater becomes a lot dodgier. After “cleaning” out a five gallon bucket and using your miniscule supply of saran-wrap and dust tape. After filling it with seawater and hooking up a catch-cup from an old Styrofoam take-out bin, you set it out on the back deck to do its God-given magic.
Which was fairly good, considering the fact that a lifeboat was bumping up against your prow. Grabbing Ol’ Flailey, you went forward to deal with the issue. After jumping across and into the thing, you searched around before you found the noise, and God help your immortal soul for what you saw.
In the corner of the cabin, a zombie was tied to a bulkhead, held down by a loose series of knots on it’s hands and feet. Opposite it, a small girl was yelling in what sounded like it might be French, maybe. Now, when you said small, you meant SMALL. This was a girl on the scale of “pick up with one arm, carry out.” Of course, that was secondary to the ravening zombie across from her, whom you proceded to smile at.
It was not a nice smile, mind.
Whirring up your flail, you got a few clean shots in, enough to break it’s neck. Looking at the girl, you think, hard. Decisions, decisions. On one hand, she could help you and she was young enough to be very impressionable, and thus teachable. On the other, she wa increased water and food expenditure who could stab you in the back.

>Take Girl, Loot Liferaft
It was time to get to work, you decided. Step one, rescue girl. This was easily accomplished with a kitchen knife cutting through her bonds, and then slingning her over your shoulder. Going out, you got her on your Mighty Ship, and then proceded to tie off and get to work. No matter how sparse the acomidations were on these blow-up rafts, you could still get some decent loot off them. Steak knives, some booze, glorious bedsheets, pillows, more booze, and most importantly a piece- what looked like an old Luger, with four clips of ammo. You were really raking it in here, although there was some rather… disturbing… pornography you made sure went over the side as soon as possible. It would explain why the girl couldn’t get loose, after all. Morons.
Getting back, you took your loot to the cabin and laid it out carefully.

Once you had cut loose, you took one of the booze bottles and made it a Molotov cocktail, lighting and throwing it with an arm practiced with baseball with the guys. As the raft burned and sank, you saw the girl.
“Hello. What’s your name?” you asked quietly. She just sighed, and ran over and hugged you. “Well, that wasn’t as planned…”
She just mumbled, and held you tighter. Great. Just great.

How long does an infected person take to turn? If it's variable or days...check her for bites or other wounds. Can't have a timebomb on the ship.
And uh, take care of her if she's not bit.
Take "care" of her, with a bullet, if she is.

This, checking for bites is always priority with other survivors. Show her that we have no botes, and make sure she knows to check for bites on anyone else she comes across. Do charades about it if we have to bypass language barriers.

RP-34
FS- 36
Both Passed

You were a cop. This was a good thing, in that you knew how to fight zombies, but much less advantagus when it came to the nitty-gritty things in life.

Like fixing engines. To be honest, you were never much of a repairman- you mostly sent shit in to the shop or your brother, both of whom could rebuild cars in the time it took you to smeeze. Add in the family discounts, amd it wasn't worth dirtying your hands over.

This was about as useful as a RPG on a speedboat versus the US Navy right now, though. Through a combimation of yelling, howling, and hitting, you got the twin engime set that powered your dipliated boat to cough into life, spewing black smoke and death from their infernal exhaust.

Less than a week, and you already hated this boat. Not a good sign.

Still, it gave you somrthing to do which wasn't worry about the girl. She barely ate, almost never slept, and was constantly on the corner of your vision. This was good when you were making dinner- not so much if you were trying to take a dump off the fantail. But you digressed.

It took a few days to get her to speak. When she did, it was in halting French, always with sparkling eyes. She hated to talk- it was her one anathema. Even when you had to check her for bites and lice, she held still as you got an uncomfertably close look at her naked while you bathed her off with seawater. Bites, no. Bruises, welts, and cuts however, were all yeses. Frowning, you just dressed her and thanked God you had uccsessfully stayed as flacid as you ever got. Lolicon with what appeared to be a. nine-year-old was NOT on your list of acceptable behaviors.

After tooling around for a few more days, you spotted another lifeboat. This one, however, was far diffrent from the others- it had people! Or, at least, you assumed zombies didn't wave and hold out signe to attract bait. Never could know.

Did you have a plan?

Roll 20. DC failed.

Motoring towards the liferaft, you pray to the dark ocean gods everything goes well. You've trimmed your hair, you've kept the knives to a minimum, and you have the Luger safed in your waistband. What could possibly go wrong?

Answer: Ramming the liferaft.

After deciding you could puah the engines a little, something had de-fucked somewhere, and you shot forward. Pulling your hand off the throtle, it stayed locked forward until you clawed it to a stop. By that point, though, you had your bow clean through their everythimg, and their lifeboat was sinking.

"Get onboard!" You yelled, watching the co-ed group board. Damn, looks like you got the better part of a sorority and fraternity on that thing!

Wait. And they were now on your boat. Eating your food, and drinking your booze. Fuck.

As they milled about on your foredeck, you blew a whistle you had found to get their atention.

"Listen up!" You bellowed, "Unfortunatly, you have not been rescued by the Coasties or Navy. You have been rescued by me."

"I didn't know Somalis spoke Emglish!" One of the frats cracked, making your eye twitch. Resisting the urge to pop a cap in him or the air, you tweeted again.

"Can that shit! You want loot and booze and pussie, or a rag and a black eye?!"

The frat shut up.

"As that fine young asshole just demonstrated, I am in fact a pirate. Fortunatly for you, I am in need of crew. Work with me, and in less than a year we're going to be sitting in some old billionaires yacht sipping champagne and smoking cigars."

You almost felt the mood improve.

"Until then, we're on this piece of shit! So crew, who here does not want to join in this merry little escapade?"

One man raised his hand.

"I love voulenteers!" You cried, grinning. "Pin him to the deck."

It took a minute, but after drawing your Luger and cocking it, they got the message, gently pinning him down.

"Now, I'm American. I belive in forgivness, and second chances. Would you like to change your mind?"

"Fuck you."

"I'll take that as a No. Gentlemen, there are ropes by the bowsprit. While I will not make this moron walk the plank, he will get to stay on lookout until he finds us something. Bind him to the bowsprit, please."

As they did so, you smiled and sighed.

"Very good. Very, very good. Now, if you will break into three groups for me? One for those studying mechanics, one for the sports, and one for everything else."

As the groups formed, you smiled. Basic psychology was once again proving very helpful. Go you!

"Those in the mechanics group will go inside the engine department and inspect amd atempt to repair the engine. I expect it to be in bad shape, so don't sugar-coat it. The sports will stay on the foredeck and practice hand to hand combat. When we find something to board, you will be first over the side, and receive twice the normal shares of reward if the ship is inoperable. If the techies can fix it, however, then they get the boosted shares as well. Everyone else gets half shares until they learn a trade or contribute. By the way- shares include rations."

Signalling them to get started, you sigh. Good to be King. As you got ready, though, the lookout started yelling.

"Ship, on the right! A big one!"

Damnit. There went your break.

I will generally give you opertunities for about enough resources. However, the safe path is damn slow, population release methodes are a shit, and you're going to have to get gutsy.

For example, at some point you're going to have to colonize land. Which is going to be dangerous as all hell, or at best a break even investment.

Realistic. Yes, there's going to be some bad stuff, but there's also going to be honor among brethren and some sort of culture. Eventually. Probably after you clear a cruise ship and make it your floating bitch-ass palace.

Because that is an option.
