Welcome back to Cell Evolution Quest last time you were here you decided to deal with some pesky microscopic mosquitos! The whole thing went better than expected but you still have a small problem. There is a shortage of floaty things in the area and you must now hunt the wiggle things.

1. Try to find an area with more floaty things
2. Float about and try to lure prey towards you
3. other- find your own solution

Time for some seduction as you and your posse begin to secrete pheromones to attract prey too you pickings are slim and the few that you manage to lure are cautious of you. It doesn't save them from your fellows that attack from there blind spots. Taking turns you all manage to eat your fill.

you guys are in control of one cell and its evolution I mostly make and deal with the other things you see but if you have ideas for other cells or creatures go ahead and post them.

The Quest has two parts the evolution stage where you spend your evo points to add, make, or improve parts. Those parts give you stats but the stats aren't something you have to pay much mind too. The next stage is the Quest stage where I roll a 1d10 to determine what happens, at the end you roll for survival. depending on how well you rolled and how well you did in the quest gives you successes which are used as Evolution points for the Evolution phase. Anything you would like me to elaborate on
>>
>>45015861
Oh. I figured this would be more EVO-style where the thread actively directs the evolution of a number of organisms who compete and interact.
This here's a little less my style. Think I'll drop out.

You swiftly move after your prey wiggling madly after the small moat, it's fast faster than you but you're able to track it with your light spots. The chase is short and ends with a full belly. There is one small problem you've noticed your numbers have dwindled with is strange you're pretty sure you the biggest cell in the tide pool nothing could really threaten you right? What do you want to do?
1. Try and find where everyone's gone
2. Hunt you're sure it's no big deal
3. Float around filter feed
4. Make a something out of Silica (what)

You've never felt so along well that’s not true you just didn't know you were lonely before. Of course you aren't entirely alone the Darting things as always float around you using you for protection. You fallow pheromone trails looking for others but the use of pheromones have become increasingly common and you aren't entirely sure why as you travel you notice the occasional burst of energy that singles the grey globs but instead they come from some wiggle things. The most interesting ting you see is a large mass of carbon small cells move with in it there flagella moving the mas forward any cracks that the carbon nest suffers is quickly fixed by the small cells. You still haven't found others of your spices what do you do?
1. Continue on
2. Investigate the carbon nest
3. Make something with silica (what)
4. Other- any ideas?

Your curiosity causes you to moves towards the small mass of carbon as you do you see the flagella pull in to the nest as it starts to vibrate. Suddenly one of your light spots is blinded as a barrage of carbon spears are fired by the cells in side the nest there's a small pause as the cells in side reorient them selves the nest vibrates again as the flagella reemerge and it starts to move rapidly away.
1. Chase it
2. Live and let live
3. Find your others
4. What was that shadow?

That’s no shadow is the only thought you have as the massive beast moves past. You can't even take in the entirety of the creature its flagella are wider than you are long and move faster than you could hope to dream. The wake of its movement sends you hurtling, mass amounts of debris is torn from the ground as it searches for food. One of its flagella hits the carbon nest and in an instant it moves even faster as its whole body pulses. You're thrown far as its form descends on the nest. The cells within cower at its center, this offers no protection against the god as its straw like mouth descends on the nest with a single motion the helpless cells are sucked into the beast's stomach. Discarding the now empty nest it continues on its path.

Besides the loss of evolution points it changes the table, instead of being a relevant creature. You get left behind. For now think of sharks or snacks trillions of years spent as the same thing no innovation. In game terms it changes the 1d10 table I roll on.
>>
>>45019328
the first stage of life. Creatures alive at his time were soft slow and had only simple nervous systems to keep them together while you missed out on making the jump from simple cell to simple animal you did make an important contribution to life's development namely communication while on earth the first major evolutionary explosion was caused by the development of eyes here it was communication that drives competition.
Three styles of communication have evolved so far.
1.Pheromone communication- Stinky things- Shut up were pretty!!
2.Bio Electric impulse- Grey globs
3.Motion/vibration communication- Darting things

The world has changed in more ways than one were once befor you moved with pride and certainty as the strongest cell in the tide pool you are now but an ant among gods. The massive forms of the filter feeders envelope the land and have not been kind to your numbers you're on the edge of extinction but this is not the change you meant. You meant the world has changed literally the world has, well what you think of the world, changed all the creatures that you knew are gone replaced by others. The once spacious floor of the tide pool as been replaced with the cramped and confusing maze of the kelp forest well that's what your calling the huge interwoven mass of floaty things. the number of filter feeders are few but who knows what creatures stalk in the reeds?
1. Explore you new home
2. feed on the floating things you have jaws that's what they're there for.
3. Hunt you will reclaim your lost honor
4. Other- any plans?

Let's get an understanding of the environment first this time
>>
>>45020437
>Explore you new home
>>
>>45020437
As you begin to explore your new home you come to the realization that it's dark. Your simple light spots while able to tell where light is doesn't help you here in the perpetual dusk of the reeds. Worse yet the once strong currents that once added you in moving are gone the world is still, constrictive, and ominous it drives home the fact that you are alone in a strange and alien place. How do you proced ?
1. Cautiously- this place is strange take your time.
2. Boldly - you are great you have nothing to fear in this place.
3. Time to find food
4. Other- what are your plans?
what ever you're choice roll 1d100

Rolled 88 (1d100)

>Other- what are your plans?
Remember when those little wigglers were parasitising us? We should improve our mobility and do the same now that we're no longer the biggest thing in the pool.
>>
>>45021487
fortunately you rolled changed environment so the Darting things aren't here anymore
>>
>>45020948
In the dim light of the forest you look around trying to find the ever pesky Darting things. Only to find them missing this does nothing to help you, but you do have some sense of relief knowing that the annoying things aren't around any more. Not to long after you come to the conclusion that the forest isn't as populated as you feared. that or its much easier to hid in the reeds than you thought. The few wiggle things that you see aren't much more advanced than you but that doesn't mean that you have it easy as finding prey in this dark place is difficult and the lack of light makes using your chloroplast difficult. you need to find food what do you do?
1. Hunt the wiggle things- tried and true
2. float around and lure prey- the classic
3. Find a brighter area to photosynthesise
4. Try nibbling the reeds- that's what the jaws are for.
5.Other- whats your strategy?

Anyway I vote
>4. Try nibbling the reeds- that's what the jaws are for.
>>
>>45022178
you try nibbling at the reeds there are strong cells with thick membranes in covering them but once you peel a few away your able to eat the softer cells within it a pretty easy feast all things considered. The only alarming thing that happened was a cell that jumped away from you it seems that some of the wiggle things in this area try and pretend to be part of the reeds your not sure why.
