Dragons are truly marvelous creatures, natural wells of magic and physically one of the most amazing beasts on the planet. Combined together with their intelligence and long life spans, they can truly be forces of destruction or forces of justice. Of course it shows a true balance between the ten main species of Dragons, how they shape the world around them with their tyranny or their assistances with their magic...what will happen with the life of a young Chromatic Dragon?

But when a Dragon becomes old enough to leave it’s Clutch of it’s parents to go out on its own, then it truly starts to shape the world around it...

But what Color is our Young Dragon who may shape the fate of the World around it?

A: Red: The Chromatic Dragons who are most well known for their Fire Breath and their general aptitude for everything Draconic.
B: Blue: Desert Dwelling Dragons who breath Lightning from their mouths and focus more on the control of their Desert homes.
C: Green Dragons: Forest Dwelling creatures most adept in their Noxious Poison Gas natural defense and their powers stemming from their deeper magical connection to Nature that they could twist as they desire for whatever purpose they need.
D: Black Dragon: One of the smaller Dragons due to their life within Swamps, Marshes, and other such areas that seem to fit well with their Acidic Spits.
E: White Dragons: Ah the Savage Ice Dragons of the north lands with their breath as cold as the winter’s blizzards on the highest slopes of their homes. These are surprisingly large, though their skills are weaker due to their slightly below average Draconic intelligence.

B is the Victor!
-
In the Desert of Caliman there were few Blue Dragons, most of the center of it being ruled by a pair of mated Blues that drove off all other compition and with their own clutch barely surviving an attack of adventurers their youngest Cyanisha is the time where it leaves the nest and goes to a preappointed place to the far north reaches where the mother and father 'gifted' the worst bit of the land to the daughter.

Flying off, the Dragon dipped against the sand and flew high with the clouds remembering the years focused on the developing it's...

A: Innate Magical Prowess
B: It's powerful hunting instincts
C: It's skill in stealth
D: The power of Diplomacy with lesser beings

Your skill in diplomacy stemmed from the act of taking the place of a young woman in a small city not far from your parent's roost. Doing the transformation was easy enough and the small sack of platinum coins did show that it was worth more than just the lessons of life of a lesser creature.

Landing on the Mesa over looking the desert and slowly watching it transform into savannah a lay down on the warm stone gave you a few options. You could easily find a cave and continue to act in your meager bit of ''land' that your parents so graciously gave you...or going further would land you into unknown territory though slightly unaccustomed land to your species. Or even a nearby town that you could take over by force or by your wealth to basically buy it from it's current ruler if they were smart.

A: Go to the Savannah, Exploring the lands to see if there is a more suitable place.
B: Stay in your home, your parents don't expect you to go far and may pop in now and again to check on you.
C: Go to the town in full Dragon Form, taking over by force.
D: Go to the town as a lesser being of some kind and attempt to take control the more peaceful way.

The act of the transformation was strange, and no dragon lasted long with it without extreme care. Their strength was much greater then their frail bodies could contain and too much strength scratching an inch could shred the skin and begin to unravel the illusion.

Flying a circle down the Mesa and loping along on four legs until reaching a roughly mile away from the town the transformation began. The form normally taken was a young woman with sandy blonde hair and blue robes as if to simulate that of a young mage. Unassuming and yet interesting at the same time considering the amount of adventurers wandering the world.

Walking to the town wasn't too tricky, clawed feet transformed after reaching the outer walls was nothing to get rid of in a little snap and looking about with a satchel over her shoulder, Cyan as her human persona, looked about wondering where she might make her first true move...

A: The local tavern, so close to the savannah it would have more exotic foods and perhaps interesting patrons.
B: The local general store, they always have a few odds and ends an adventurer might have hawked for a few coins.
C: The town hall, always a good way to start to meet the local rulers.

Walking into the Town hall, a small group of men dressed as guards wander out, holding small satchels of gold on their way to the tavern. Seems it's pay day at the moment.

Walking inside there are few others, the town is small, a few small streets with barely enough people to call it more than a village on the road toward the larger cities near the rich Oasis in the center. A Godly gift some claimed...really it was a bit helped by it's draconic rulers with their magic to help the trade flowing into the city and into their hordes...

The current Mayor of the town was an old man, frail beyond his years it seemed from sickness or injury sustained and he looked up after Cyan had convinced the guard at the door to let her through.

"Yes yes, what do you want young lady I am very busy working out deals and guard duties at the moment." He said, of course you were probably twenty years his senior.

A: Ask what the issue is, and offer your personal aid.
B: Ask how much it would cost to buy or build a home for yourself within the town.

"You can handle all of this?!" He laughs leaning back for a few moments, before stopping and wheezing out a few more coughing soon after...a bit of blood showing up in his hand that he wipes on a small bit of cloth that he produced from his pocket.

"We've got bandits on the roads demanding tolls from the merchants so they take other roads to the other cities, we've got a band of kobolds living nearby that come in and steal things from the town and our Head Guard is missing after going to deal with something in the desert..." He moaned leaning back with a snicker. "How do you intend to deal with that?"

He then blinks, "As for a home...depends on the lot you want. Building a home for a small family would be two hundred gold." Something you have easily on hand in platinum, "Or if you want something very large that'll go to the near thousand range," Which would leave you destitute and poor as a mortal...barely enough to get dinner for a week from a tavern. You could hunt yes but that would be an odd sight to see a young woman dragging a camel back into her back lot...

A: Offer to go handle the Bandits at the moment to prove it.
B: Ask more information about the Kobolds. Perhaps they can be of some use.
C: Finding the captain will be easy enough...getting him back might be different.

Why can't we just find a nice mountain or desert dungeon to settle in, and just appear in human form every once in a while?
A home in the city means people can watch us, and if people watch us then they can attack us, and if they can attack us then they can expose us.
If someone finds a blue Dragon in the desert it's a blue Dragon in the desert.
>>
>>43374854
C and B. We would first want C dealt with because that one is most likely time related, and with him, the town that you wish to take control over would become more secure. Afterwords, B should be done to grow our power base.
>>
>>43374854
D. Bow your head and make some promisses. A simple lie of being owed a favors from your travels can solve all these problems. Take care of the bandits your self. Recruit the kobolds! A fake alliance with them and the town will allow the to freely guard your lands and apply your own taxes. As for the lost captain? What else can prove the kobolds loyalty to such a deal then retrieving the lost captain!
>>
>>43374854
>B: Ask more information about the Kobolds. Perhaps they can be of some use.

The kobolts could be used to deal with the bandits.

QM is it possible to take all three os then? In exchange we get a house or something else maybe a seat in the town council or something.

We will anon but for now we only have a small portion of area besides we can't build dungeons out of nothing and there will be other places to visit the human town is more to know about the area. "Where might these Kobolds be located?" Cyan asked with a smile, such darling little creatures Kobolds were. Not very tasty but plenty useful as tinkerers and adventurer fodder...good for digging up gemstones or gold to add to a horde for little pay except for the occasional pat on the head or word of praise.

"North of town..." He grumbled leaning back, "Look for a small circle of out cropping of stone about...ten miles out or so? They've made their little lair their...have a habit of stealing camels and other things from the villagers or the travellers coming by." He said waving you off.

Cyan walked out and looked Northward, the heat haze making most things unrecognizable at that distance for human eyes...the edge of the tips of the stones were barely in view for your keen vision...hmm...

A: Walk there in human form to greet them in that form.
B: Go out of town and fly their to greet your new 'minions'.
C: Go try to run there as a Dragon, loping across the desert can be fun.
D: Go out and try to find that bandit camp, on your own it couldn't be too hard with flight.

You forget that there are two things that can provide growth. one is, as you said, resources, which are either created, transported, or gathered in a location. There is another factor in growth, time. Seeing how long dragons are capable of living, we would be able to profit as much from time as we could from resources.

Jogging out behind a sand dune roughly a mile outside the city was easy, and breaking through the transformation into a hard sprint across the desert was something you enjoyed doing.

It was good exercise, and the speed you were going at kicked up a small sand storm behind oyu shielding your passage from anyone trying to spy closely on you. You could have simply been a very fast horse to them.

Coming up closer to the stones you slow down, having followed the road and smiled as a few Kobolds atop the stones scrambled down screaming in their own brutish dialect of Draconic. You knew it of course but it was still rather crude compaired to your own.

"Well what do we have here? Little Kobolds about?" Cyan said as she walked into the circle of stones, spying a few of the holes Kobolds were crawling out of to gaze at her, blue of course. Desert Kobolds were always blue unless they were slaves and then they were normally Red or Green depending where they were captured.

The chief kobold, at least by the many bone necklaces and fancy golden crown sitting on it's head came forward bowing, "Oh Great blue one, we have waited long to find another Blue to serve. Please allow us to serve you as we have no where to go since we were cast out of our last master, The Dreaded Turqanda, when he was slain..." That was your brother's name that died a few years back...good little fuckers survived some how.

Rooting through a few things and pulling a few things apart shows a large golden chest. Grinning a little picking it up and opening it with a claw shows a bounty of at least ten thousand gold pieces...not a bad haul at all. Hehe...

A: Go back to town
B: Head back to the kobold's location.
C: Hang out around here, making a small base.
D: Write in.

Oh look the guy who rolled well didn't mention Tiamat.
Seriously though Tiamat is a bitch,
we're the only goddess these people have to worry about .

>A: Go back to town
Change back to human form and have the kobolds haul the stuff.

Ok then. It may need some improvements.
Book of Tiamat
1. Birth of God
In the beginning, there was nothing. The land was an endless void, that would go on forever, there was no light in this world for there was nothing to create it. All there was, was an egg. The egg had every color that has ever existed or ever will exist upon it's shell large enough for all of dragonkind to live upon it. Eventually, like all dragons, it began to hatch. The tail impaled through the bottom of the egg, and a head shattered the top of it, but that is where the similarities end. Around the central head, four more heads broke through the sides, the location of which becoming the four cardinal directions of our world. Quickly, the egg was nothing more than shards, and Tiamat was born.
2. Genisis
For a little while, Tiamat was content, for she was never truly alone. Quickly though, she grew board. Tiamat therefore endeavored to creation. The Fire head, fiery in passion as the planets core, created the sun and brought light to the world. The Black head, firm as the caves we call home, created the ground on which we stand. The White head, as beautiful as the snow capping the mountain, created the water that flows through the world. The Blue head, with it's creativity, created the skies above. The Green head, with it's love, created all that lives, from the most base of plants, to the mortal races. She observed her creation, and saw it was good, but she feared that it would decay, and our world wasn't her only creation, so she couldn't constantly watch it. Tiamat therefore took some of her shed scales and dispersed them across her creation. From the scales of her Crimson scales came the Red dragonflight, inheriting the flames of their sire. From the cerulean scales came the Blue dragonflight, the masters of the air. From the obsidian scales came the Black dragonflight, stone bending to their will. From the viridian scales came the Green Dragonflight,

>Dragon flight
WoW crap, dropped.

Also none of that is true, the D&D gods didn't even create the world, and Tiamat isn't even the first dragon goddess.

nature embracing them as greatly as they embraced nature. and from the scales as pure as diamond came the White dragonflight, able to chill to the core all who opposed Tiamat's will. These, the Five dragonflights, were appointed as caretakers of the world, and messangers between Tiamat, and her mortal creations. They were treated as they should be by the mortal races, as the children of the Creator. Creation was a paradise, and it remained so for a while, until HE destroyed it.

If you're talking about Bahamut, Tiamat actually wants him... so yeah.

They were born from the actual creators gods death.
>>
>>43377984
This is the mythology of the Chromatic dragons, Tiamat may not be the only god, but she is the only god acknowledged by the Chromatic dragons, as for WoW, It didn't really make an impact, more that calling them merely dragons felt a bit impersonal, and the word isn't very charging emotionally, compared to dragonflight. Think of it as Chromatic propaganda, one they themselves believe in.

3 Paradise Lost
No one is sure where it was that he came from, some believe that he was Tiamat's first creation and her lover attempting to steal creation from her, some believe that he was born of the void, and is alien to creation, but while we don't know for certain his origin, we do know his name, Bahamut, the deceiver. He offered gifts to our forefathers, wealth of such a magnitude that the hoards that we have today is less than the amount that fell off what he offered. Those who were in direct communication with the Goddess told their fellow dragons that such wealth was false compared to the grace of the goddess and what they have acquired through their own efforts. This deterred some of the dragons who roosted within the earth, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough. A third of dragonkind, blinded by their greed, took Bahamut up on his offer. It was only when their bodies were slumbering upon the wealth did the trap strike. The treasure began oozing around the dragons, twisting and distorting their form. Their scales changed, becoming the very metal that the dragons laid upon. When they awoke the next morning, they were no longer the dragons who they were before, their mind was twisted, believing that Bahamut was their sire instead of the Divine Tiamat, and that the lesser species were the equal of Draconic kind. He then sent our former brethren to slay us, and with honeyed words, turned the mortal races against their creator and her children. It was only those mortals blessed by Tiamat that were able to see though Bahamut's lies.

Welp looks like Tia-fag scared off our op...

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what else to write, for the war between the Chromatics and the Metallics still continues, seemingly without end, so I think that unless anyone else has any ideas on Chromatic mythology, there is nothing more that can be written.

For fuck sake OP if you have to leave say something.

You lead the kobolds back to town, they're fairly good at hauling things.

It takes almost an hour to walk back, but the trip is pleasant, the sun high in the sky, and the sand brushing against your skin.

How do you plan to introduce the Kobolds to the town
>A They work for you know, they've agreed to sop raiding, say nothing more.
>B They wish to live in the town in exchange for not raiding in the future.
>C They are your slaves.

How do you enter town
>A On your own, let the mayor know about the kobolds first.
>B Just march right in there.

>What sort of house do you plan on buying.
>A Small 100 gold (2 bedrooms 1 floor)
>B large 500 gold (4 bedrooms 2 floors)
>C Very large 1000 gold (2 floors with basement, garden, same rooms as large, but generally more luxurious and spacious.)
>D Mansion 5000 gold. (Walled 5 bedrooms (10 for servants) Large garden, watch towers on walls, can build a large room for your hoard for an extra 500 gold.)

Current funds 11247 gold.

>Don't; They will remain out of town until we formulate a plan.
>C; Alone in human form

Thanks for doing this DragonQM

On the kobolds:
>A

Enter town:
>A

House you plan on buying:
>D, Mansion. We're a fucking dragon, our ego refuses to aknowledge anything but the best, and if this small hut they call a mansion is exactly that, it will have to do.
>>

>A
>D plus the hoard room

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, we obviously need that large room for my hoard.

Tell them it will be our recreational room if they ask what it's for.
>>
>>43381284
The option for entering the town sort of assumed you would be human, since I don't think you guys plan on revealing yourself quite yet.
>>
>>43381211
>They work for you know

Welp time for sudoku.

You enter the town on your own, the people don't pay much attention, that will change soon.

Entering the Mayors office you see the same frail old man sitting behind the desk.

"Did you need something, perhaps more information."
You shake your head.
"It's done, the bandits are dead and the kobolds work for me now."

The Mayor nearly falls out of his chair at that.

"But, you've only been gone few hours."
A smile stretches across your face.
"Yes, and the jobs are done"

"Very well then... do you have any proof of this?"

>How do you prove this.
>The kobolds are nearly a mile outside of town, with most of your loot.
>>
>>43381910
"Is my word not proof enough? If so you may lead a party to both locations and confirm it yourself."
>>
>>43381910
Offer to bring the kobolds into the town with the loot.

Say you want to purchase a mansion.
>>
>>43381910
I can take you to the destroyed bandit camp and I can show you the Kobolds if my word is not enough.

"Is my word not proof enough? If so you may lead a party to both locations and confirm it yourself, The kobolds are a mile away, I can lead your men there."
After an hour or so things are sorted outthe Mayor is rather confused over why you need such a large house, but the gold shuts him up quickly enough.

You come to realize you need staff... the kobolds might... be enthusiastic, but you doubt they would care for keeping your home clean.

Maybe a maid or two, oh and a cook, not that you need one, but it would look strange not to have one.
>A kobolds for guards, humans for everything else
>B All kobolds.
>C Screw it hire some human guards too.
