Become The Dragon Quest 24

You are Countess Kotijah Imidarius, and you want to be a dragon. You have known since your birth that you wanted to be one of them, to be among your ancestors, a true dragon. Instead you have been confined to something less, something lacking the grace, ferocity and raw power that you deserve.

Last time you met up with Kat and Gil and then went off to grab some food before the festival kicked into high gear. You got yourself a roasted chicken and made a deal with the vendor that if you could eat the whole thing then you didn't have to pay for it. You devoured it, bones and all, surprising yourself a bit in the process, and then went off to try to find Kat and Gil again.

You couldn't find them on foot, so you did the logical thing and flew above the crowd to spot them. You managed to reach them just as the festival began in full, and decided to participate when you saw that it was mostly harmless. You enjoyed the party, the dancing, singing and stories, and woke up the next morning remembering most of what happened. You had deflected Fiona's advances and used your portal ring to hold someone's hand, so you set about trying to sort both situations out.

First you went to find Fiona and talk to her. You explained that you weren't rejecting her for her, but that you wanted to sort the situation out before you said yes, and after a brief misunderstanding on her part, you decided to get together for lunch to get to know each other better. When she left, you turned your attention to trying to figure out who you held hands with and ended up tapping into your blood memory to work it out, determining that you had tried to hold hands with Taret but that he had been on the move at the time, so you had ended up holding hands with Cenere through the night. You still need to ask him what you talked about though.
>>
You headed back to the inn to see how the magic item was coming along, and found a giant metal spike stuck through the roof. In the room you found Millie, Sena and Vein sitting around and chatting, and Vein proposed using your blood or bones as a vessel for the magic to avoid interfering with your magic items. After some debate and discussion you decided on a magic tattoo on your back. The process of applying it was quite painful, but you managed to endure it.

Now for a test run...

The rules:
Best of three rolls, critical threat on a 20, confirmed if another roll is 20-modifier or higher. Modifier is Stat being rolled+Relevant skill. You can decide which skill to apply. If no one applies one, no skill will be added on. If you don't have a logical reason to apply a skill, don't do it.
Critical fails are at least two 1s on a roll. May expand this later to increase shenanigans.
Success is on a sliding scale and is situational. Some things are easier than others. Use your head.

You focus on a spot in front of you, in the middle of the room and away from anything that might catch fire easily. Then you remember that you haven't actually charged the tattoo with any magic yet, so you close your eyes and brace yourself.

“Rampage.”

You feel an odd twisting sensation at your fingertips and shoulders, nothing like the pain you endured after going through the portal. Your wings and claws vanish, you feel your bones weigh you down again, and your tattoo feels warm as it feeds on your magic.

-

You lose 2 SP, current cap decreased by 2

-

“Slumber.”

Your wings and claws grow back, and you feel the satisfying lightness return to your body. You focus once again.

-

SP cap increased by 2

-

You take a deep breath and point two fingers at the spot, concentrating. You feel the magic move to your fingertips, little motes of flame trailing through the air, emanating from that spot. All it needs is a spark. You snap your fingers, and a thin trail of flame, almost like a bolt of lightning, cuts through the air and explodes right on target. It's pure elemental fire, like your firesong, but doing it like this is a lot more draining. It's probably better to use it after absorbing someone else's spells.
>>
“Thanks...”

You smile at the girls, and Millie gives you a squeeze.

“No problem! Now it's my turn. Hmm.”

Vein pokes Millie's forehead and smirks slightly.

“You can do that all on your own, so I'm gonna go find Gimbly and annoy him for a bit.”

Sena pauses.

“Gimbly is here...? Can I come too? I wanna meet him for myself.”

Vein nods.

“Sure thing. Let's go, spooky-vampire-pants.”

Vein cackles and runs out the door as Sena chases after her, shouting something about Vein being a spooky-pants. You adjust your shirt slightly.

“Are you gonna be alright on your own? I've gotta head off and have lunch with someone.”

Millie nods.

“Mhmm. I'll keep my eyes peeled the whole time, don't worry. Enjoy your lunch!”

You smile and nod, heading out. You make it to the exit of the inn before you realize two very important things. You're having lunch with Fiona, but you have no idea where it's supposed to take place, and you're having lunch with Fiona, but you don't know if she's expecting this to be a date or not.

Sorry for the delay, my new boss is very observant so I can't just slip away to the corner to type up posts even when there aren't any customers in the store. Lunch break now.

-

You search the town briefly to track down Kat and Gil and find them recovering at the tavern, Kat working her way through a pint and Gil on his second. They both look absolutely disheveled, hair a mess and clothes wrinkled almost beyond belief. Kat waves you over with a smile.

"You live! How did you like the party?"

You sit down with them and smile.

"It went well, although it did leave me with some questions. I'm supposed to be having lunch with someone in a little while and I need some advice."

Gil immediately looks away.

"Here we go..."

"Is there some reason I shouldn't...?"

Kat shrugs.

"I'm a mentally unstable alchemist whose crazy experiments put the lives of myself and others at risk? Other than that though... Anyway, I know the answer to your problem! Shopping! We'll get you a new outfit. When you flip a coin, the outcome you want becomes clear in your mind. Same with getting clothes for something. You'll know by the end exactly what you want and you'll be dressed for the occasion. I can't think of anything that would help more, aside from love or lust potions. Did you want those instead?"

Could we get a truth potion, drink it and see how Fiona likes the real Kotijah.

...

We should probably should only take a small dose.

Test it first too.

Also it'd be useful in other situations.

Course I don't know how truth potions work in here.

You take a moment to consider her words.

"Can we talk while we shop? Not that I don't believe you, it's just that I want to be sure."

Kat nods.

"Don't worry about a thing."

She dumps something into her pint, swirls it and then downs the mixture, and Gil smiles at you.

"Just try to survive. The rest is icing on the cake."

You nod a bit as you feel Kat grab your wrist. She leaps across the table rather gracefully, before dragging you out of the tavern.

"I don't feel comfortable in something I can't fight in if I need to. Nothing with a lot if pink or that's going to be super revealing either. Oh, and I have a tattoo between my wings now, so keep that in mind. I mean, I normally wear a cloak so it wouldn't be visible anyway, but..."

Kat spins around to face you.

"Does whoever you're having lunch with like tattoos? Because you should show it off if they do. If they don't then maybe we can cover it up..."

"No idea what their opinion is on the matter. Either way I'd have to show my wings to let it be visible, remember? And while something backless is comfortable, I'd rather not be advertising who I am."

"That should do the trick. Maybe something in black and red..."

Kat grins and gives you a nudge and a sly wink.

"Say no more, I've got you covered. Black and red... Ha."

She leads you towards a tailor shop and you piece together her pun. She's implying something about you and Taret, and is probably assuming you're having lunch with him or something, or at least implying she's still rooting for him.

You decide to let her think whatever she likes for the time being. You haven't got a good reason to tell her, and besides that, she said Fiona owed her something and you're not sure how she'd feel knowing you're trying to get to know her better. Now that you think about it, you're not sure how you feel about dating Kat's previous partner. You push that thought far, far from your mind as you step into the shop. Those are things to worry about later if things get serious.

The shop is pretty spacious, with many outfits on display. Kat walks off to talk with the tailor, and you decide to explore a little bit. While none of the outfits compare to the finery you wore at the manor, it's all high quality work.

As you examine one of the gowns you hear a noise behind you, a sort of rustling sound. You lower the gown slowly and pause. Someone is there, watching you. You turn slightly, just in time to see a boy leap out at you, wielding a measuring tape like a whip and yelling. He swings at you, aiming for your waist, and you hop backwards to avoid getting ensnared by it. The boy cracks his "whip" and points at you. He looks a little like the tailor, though you can't say you were paying much attention to him.

You dodge around his attacks, smiling as you stay just out of reach and baiting him into swings he can't possibly connect with. You're starting to really enjoy yourself when you see the tailor and Kat walking over to see what the commotion is. The boy takes another swing at you right as the tailor catches sight of him.

"Bellick! You're supposed to be in the back folding clothes, not attacking customers!"

The boy pales and runs off, the tailor looking furious.

"That boy... I'm so sorry about that."

He sighs softly.

"So your friend tells me that you're having lunch with someone special and want to look your best, yes? Well, I have a few things on hand that I could alter to suit you. I've got a black and blue suit, a red dress and a green and silver dress. You shrug a little bit.

"The dress is fine, just so long as I can move around in it. I don't like things that feel overly restrictive."

The tailor nods slightly.

"It'll definitely need some adjusting then, but don't you worry. It'll be easy to make it look form-fitting without having to actually make it that snug. You'll look wonderful."

Kat smirks a bit.

"And she'll need a cloak as well. It's backless, right? She's trying to cover up a huge mark on her back. Maybe something black, to go with the red?"

The tailor smiles cheerfully.

"Certainly. No problem. We can negotiage a fee once all the labor is done."

Kat flinches a little when you use the word incredible, and from the way her expression changed you can tell it's far from a positive tale. She does her best to smile.

You shake your head slowly.

“Nah. Let's head to the tavern. This is important to you. The dress will take a while and I didn't set a specific time with Fiona. Just promise not to take all afternoon.”

Kat nods a bit and gives you a more genuine smile, turning and walking out of the shop, leaving you trailing along behind her. You can't see her face, so you don't really have a clue just what's in store for this. You walk into the tavern with her, and Gil rises to meet you until Kat holds up her hand, making a gesture that makes Gil pause and slowly sit back down. Kat leads you to the far end of the tavern, away from as many people as possible, and orders four glasses of hard liquor. She offers you one, and then downs it when you decline.

“So... How I met Gil is part of a longer story, and... that's the story I'm going to tell you. If I don't tell the whole thing, you won't really get why Gil is so important to me... How much do you know about the Raexshela family?”

It rings a bell, something you might have heard mentioned in a lecture at the manor, but you can't recall the specifics. Kat nods slightly and pulls out some sort of power, adding it to the second glass, swirling it and downing it.

“Minor nobility. Plague killed everyone except the child of the head of the house, though some say it was poison that took their lives, and they missed the baby on accident. That child was Kathel Raexshela.”

Kat pauses for a moment, not quite meeting your gaze. You nod your head slightly to indicate that you know she was that child, but she looks at you like she was expecting a different reaction. When it's clear you're not really picking up on the implication she sighs a little.
>>
“The problem was that little Kathel would one day grow up to be the new head of the house. The Raexshela family was a minor house, but they were upstarts, some would say traitors to the crown, but they had enough power and leverage in various places to cause a fuss, power that would be Kathel's, and used to find the plotters. So that power would need to be stripped away somehow, redirected. If little Kathel was assassinated then that power would just go back to the king, and they couldn't just use marriage as a tool because... because a wife would inherit her husband's name and title. Then they came up with a plan...”

Kat takes her third glass and takes a gulp from it. She looks you in the eye briefly before looking down.

“You've saved my life a few times, and I feel like I can trust you with this... and I... I can't keep bottling this up forever. I haven't told Gil yet either... Please don't... Please don't tell him... I... have to find a way to do it on my own... Anyway...”

She looks into her glass, staring into the dark liquid.

“They would raise Kathel as a girl. They'd tell him that his family was attacked by wizards, that the curse meant to kill him had misfired and turned him into a boy, but that they were working tirelessly to undo it and give 'her' back the life she was meant to lead. Tutors were bribed, caretakers were blackmailed, everything was orchestrated to turn Kathel into Katherine. They would wait to ensure the lie was sold well enough, and then 'stumble upon the secret to breaking the curse' just in time for the newly female Katherine to marry a suitor, giving up all that power and wealth to the son of the nobleman who planned the whole thing.”

Kat laughs bitterly.
>>
“I thought... For so long I thought they were being kind... I spent all my time learning alchemy, ever since I was little, trying to find a cure for a curse I never had... I was fourteen when I found out the truth... I pieced together enough to confront someone about it, and when the story unraveled I ran away. I traded my jewelry for passage south and some alchemy textbooks, and... by then I was so used to living as a girl I couldn't see myself as male at all. So I took my knowledge of alchemy, and did what seemed rational.”

Kat downs the rest of the glass and slams it down hard enough to make the people around you jump.

“When I came to town, everyone was kind to me... I was eccentric, always hopped up on some sort of mixture... Even now I'm balancing out hormones, adjusting little quirks and irregularities, finishing my work and becoming the person I want to be. I can't undo the cat ears because that would probably mess a lot of other things up right now, so those have to stay... But when I got there, even though they were kind, even though they let me be quirky and strange... I didn't let anyone in. I was just Katherine the alchemist. Well, one day I blew up half my shop...”

She sips her fourth glass slowly, and you can see the flush in her cheeks as she starts to wobble.

“The carpenter was too busy, so he sent his apprentice to do the work for him. Every single day he'd come to my shop and work on the repairs, for what ended up being months. At first I hated having him around, it felt like he could see right through me, like he knew who and what I really was. Then I started to get to know him. I was right, in a way, he did see through me, but it was more that he saw I needed someone to confide in and talk to. I started making up things for him to do, just to keep him around.”

Kat downs the rest of the glass and leans back in her chair.
>>
“Gil was the first person to talk to me genuinely... Not some butler who was being paid off, or the idle pleasantries of daily life... He's the only man in the world I care about because of that, and we met because of a slip of the hand while brewing up something to make my boobs a little bigger and a little more perky.”

She laughs a bit and then slumps against the table, looking at you with her cheek against the wood.

“...I... I feel sick to my stomach with fright right now. Fright and alcohol... I hope that... that... Fuck, I don't know... I just needed to tell someone... I've needed to for so long and now I'm babbling like an idiot and...”

She swallows, her eyes watering.

“...please don't hate me... That's all... If hearing all that doesn't make you hate me... then it was worth it...”

You pull Kat into a tight hug.

“I don't hate you. I might still be processing it, but I don't hate you. And when you tell Gil, I know he won't hate you either.”

Kat hugs you back, clinging to you and nodding slightly. She rubs her eyes a bit.

“I... Thank you...”

You stroke her back gently.

“We've had each other's backs for a while now. I'm not gonna kick you to the curb over something like this. You're you. That's all there is to it. As for who did this to you... We'll get them back. Somehow. You know the family name, right? So we'll track them down and kick their butts.”

Kat smiles at you and chuckles a bit.

“Heh... I... You're right... Yeah, we can... We can get them back... It'll all work out...”

She looks over at Gil, who is looking your way. He looks nervous, almost afraid, though he does seem to relax a bit now that Kat is starting to smile again. You give him a wave, and he waves back.

“You should tell him. You can't keep him in the dark forever.”

Kat nods a bit.

“...Go do your lunch thing. I'll... figure it out while you're gone. I just hope he reacts the same way...”

You nod a bit.

“Good luck.”

Kat laughs softly.

“You too...”

You head back to the tailor's shop, leaving Kat and Gil to work things out together. You have every confidence that you won't come back to find the tavern on fire, but you're not completely sure what'll happen with Gil. You mostly just hope that it doesn't shake him up too much. The shop appears closed when you arrive, but when you knock the tailor answers with a broad smile, pulling you inside.

“Hurry now, slip out of that... whatever it is that you're wearing, and we can get your dress fitted properly. Come along now!”

You pause for a moment.

“...Couldn't you just... take my measurements? Like my friend said, I've got a mark on my back that I'd rather not have anyone see. Plus I'm kind of a prude. I don't wanna take my clothes off in front of a stranger.”

The tailor blinks.

“Why, that's some nerve you've got there. To think that I would ever have any sort of improper thoughts about a customer...”

His son smiles at you.

“Mom says that he's secretly as gay as the day is long, whatever that means.”

The tailor glares at him, but the boy seems undaunted this time. The man rolls his eyes and turns back towards you.

“And besides that, I won't need to look at your back until it's already covered up, so there's no worry there. It's the easiest and fastest way to do this. I promise you that there will be no oggling, staring or untowards actions.”

You undress just enough for the dress, which shouldn't be all that tight anyway, to fit just right, and the tailor nods a bit and walks off, returning with the dress. It's a deep red, with patterns of flowers along the bottom edge in black fabric.

"Is this to your liking? I gave it a splash of black to go with the cloak."

"It looks great. Thank you."

The tailor pulls out a spool of red thread and a needle.

"Let's get this fitted."

The needle glows softly and he throws it at you, along with the thread and dress. The dress comes apart into sections which the glowing needle sews together around you. The needle flies back to the tailor's hand and he walks around you, making a few final adjustments and sliding the cloak around your shoulders.

"There... Now then, negotiations. We didn't set a price, but I'll start at 6 gold pieces for this dress."

You do your best to haggle with the tailor, but before too long it turns into him coaching you on how to haggle, almost out of pity. You manage to make a few good points, and he does lower the price to four gold and five silver, but you leave the shop feeling a little dejected about the whole thing.

You make a quick stop at the inn to organize your belongings and prepare for lunch. You aren't anticipating combat, but you also don't want to venture out unarmed and vulnerable. You don't have a lot to choose from, although your black storage gloves would go with your outfit easily enough if need be.

-

Pick out what gear to bring with you. You've got your magic items, your sword, and not much else presently aside from some camping gear in the carriage. A quick recount of your current wealth puts you at twenty gold, four silver and seven copper.

You lay out your equipment carefully, memorizing what's where as you slip on your portal ring, and it doesn't take you long at all before you're confident that you've got it down perfectly. You put your sword in your gloves, take one more moment to make sure you look good, before heading out to try to track down Fiona.

It doesn't take you all that long. You find her by the tavern carrying some sort of picnic basket and wearing her white robes once more, smiling demurely and facing the exact opposite direction from you. You could sneak up on her to surprise her, or you could just announce your presence.

“Thanks for the compliment. And I'm sorry for not bringing anything myself. I thought we were getting lunch in town so I spent my time dressing up.”

Fiona nods a little bit and opens up the basket to show the contents. Sandwiches, roast chicken, a bottle of wine and large cask of some sort, along with fresh fruit.

“It was a little spur of the moment... I just thought that we could use the time alone to help us... get to know each other better. That's the whole point, right?”

You nod.

“Hobbies, likes, dislikes... I'm not all that great with socializing, so I hope you'll forgive me.”

Fiona smiles brightly.

“It's no problem at all.”

She waits patiently for a moment, and you offer her your arm for lack of anything else to do. She takes it, letting you lead her away from the center of town and out towards a nearby field. It's a beautiful, sunny day out, and Fiona releases your arm to get set up among some flowers, humming as she lays out the blanket and the food. You sit down beside her and she offers you the wine and chicken, taking a sandwich for herself.

“So... Where should we start...?”

>>43036776
That would be a spoiler, wouldn't it?

They don't store power in it. Gold resonates with something unique to dragons, an aspect of their being, and that generates power. Dragons gather massive hoards because that provides them with wealth, power and beautiful things to gaze upon.

>>43036911
Quite possibly. The tattoo is similar to the vent ring while active, in that all the magic inside you is being drawn out. With the tattoo, it's being used for something useful, but the same principle of finding a way to use it to train could be applied.

>>
“I guess we should start at the beginning. I mean, I know you, but I don't know who you are so much.”

Fiona nods a little bit.

“I know about as much about you, to be honest...”

You pour yourself a glass of wine and sip it slowly.

“I grew up on a farm in the south. Until about a month or so ago, I was tilling fields and hauling straw and helping my father and mother with chores. Now I'm sipping wine in a dress with a priestess and on my way to becoming a dragon.”

Fiona pulls at a wrinkle in her robes and smooths it out.

“I grew up in the church. My mother was a priestess of the sun, and my father was... Well, at any rate, I was raised by the clergy. I think part of why I never learned the ways of the night was because a lot of them saw me as a daughter and it didn't sit right with them. That's why they sent me to the cathedral. I wanted to finish my training as a priestess, and they couldn't educate me themselves.”

You nod slightly and take another sip.

“Fair enough. I was wondering about that a bit. I guess that means you're a woman of the world now then?”

Fiona blushes and smiles shyly.

“To an extent. Nothing too wild so far, just the basics. It actually requires a lot of study. A member of the faith has to know everything about every sort of indulgence, either firsthand or through observation. That way if someone needs help with something we can give advice. I've been having some difficulty with my knot work lately now that we've moved to suspension and full body bindings, but I'm confident that I'll master it in time.”

You take a moment to chew your way through some of the chicken and process that before you try another question.

“What do you do for fun then? If you're studying it then it sounds like a lot more work and a lot less play.”

Fiona shakes her head.
>>
“It's a lot of play. We study by day and practice by night. Healing magic actually works wonders for recovering during the day from some of the things we do by night. Part of why a woman loses her... her tightness has to do with tiny tears from stretching, and over time that leaves her loose, but a simple spell and everything is like new again.”

You can't help feeling like the more you talk to her about this, the more overly comfortable she's getting with the topic. Her blush, which had reddened significantly, is slowly fading away a little at a time.

“So you... Every night, you do that sort of thing for fun? Stuff like at the festival?”

Fiona nods a little.

“After you, um... well, turned me down, I went to help supervise the orgy. Mostly it involved keeping people hydrated and in peak condition, but towards the end when things were slowing down I got to take part a little myself. I'm still not very good at some of it, but it was fun. A lot more so than the lesson on drugs... Apparently I have a low tolerance for them, so I ended up pretty out of it...”

You take another bite, and Fiona starts to eat her sandwich, glancing at you.

“I don't really know what to ask you... What's your goal when you become a dragon? Are you going to slowly gain power and then take over all at once or start a war to wear down the people of the land?”

You finish your wine and refill it.

“I'm not sure yet. I've learned a lot in the last few days that makes me think that there's a lot of work ahead of me before I even reach that point. And once I'm there... I need to burn the capitol to the ground for one thing. And then there are the necromancers...”

Fiona tilts her head.

“Aren't they on your side? They'd revel in an age of darkness. You should be rounding them up, parading the fact that you're the oncoming night and making them work for you to help you. Most necromancers are part of one of the faith's sects anyway, focused on the night and on darker things, I'm sure they'd take that message well.”

You take a moment to look at Fiona, really look at her. She's pretty, devoted, apparently skilled in bed and knowledgeable on necromancers and, potentially, necromancy itself. And this girl who seemed so innocent before is now suggesting you should team up with the same people who you told yourself you'd burn to the ground. You're not quite sure how to respond.

>Necromancers hurt my friend, hurt my family and they're hurting innocent people. I have to stop them.
>Maybe you can help me persuade them to work with me then. I could use their help getting rid of some people in the capitol
>I dunno about that. On the one hand they have their uses, but on the other I don't like how they've been hurting people. We'll see how it goes.

You remember Sena right? One of their creations bit her. At the capitol They stabbed my father with a blight tainted sword and he may never recover, since the wound ignores healing magic. Then one of them abducted Sena and tortured her for an experiment and tortured Kat for alchemic knowledge. I initially had no issue with them, but they have gone out of their way to hurt that which is hold dear and make me angry. I have a dragon's temper. You do remember what happens when a Dragon gets angry, right? It's not going to let it lay and it will make those responsible pay. Additionally those responsible wish to be the ones at the top, and would not follow me, since I would be their competition. I don't like them and I don't trust them. If my time in the capitol taught me anything, nobility and those who work with them will bite you, for no other reason than they can.

You set down your wine glass and breathe deeply.

“Necromancers are not my allies. They will never be my allies. They've hurt people I care about simply because they could, and they're hurting innocent people just to further their own agendas. I'm not going to let that stand. I'm going to stop every last necromancer before they get the chance to hurt someone I care about again. Fire burns away blight, and I'm fire incarnate. I'm a dragon, remember?”

Fiona looks horrified, scooting away from you a bit.

“But... But the scriptures said... I thought that you... Why would you care about people you don't even know...? It doesn't make sense, you're a dragon... You're supposed to not care about human life, you're supposed to hate us, to see necromancers as pest control...”

You shake your head.

“That's not me. Maybe my ancestor feels that way, but I don't.”

Fiona scrambles to her feet.

“I-I have to g-”

She trips over her robes and falls over with a yelp, floundering about and trying to get away from you. You can't imagine this will end well after all that she said about you to your “cult”.

Knew this was going to happen due to inconsistency on the player's part. Also knew it, she wants a dark kill everyone goddess, not Kot.

>Pick her up, Bring her back to the chair, "We're not done talking, Fiona, You're being rude, also you didn't let me finish. You average person is going to be harmless, and in aggregate works for the common good, which will be my good. The necroamncers have consintously hurt me and mine and fully intend to be on top. Most of them are nobles and noble connected. Spend a week in the capitol and you'll see why they have to go. Most necromancers I have no real issue with until they fuck up, and that happens remarkably often, but the most powerful of them would not and would never accept me over them, thus elimination, for hurting what I hold dear and refusing to back down."

>"Fiona, sit." Nice and commanding voice. "Necromancers have fought me at every turn. I have discovered a large network of necromancers whom have been stealing the violent urges out of ordinary folks and distilling it into the blight. The docility that was left in the villlagers, I found distasteful. One of the three ringleaders, going by the classy moniker of a Doctor Bella Light, decided that fucking with me was a good use of her time. She and her little possie have incurred my wrath. I intend to burn them and their cute little group to the ground, leave nothing of their work but ash and ruin. I have animosity towards many necromancers because of this. However, Sena is as much a healer as she is a necromancer, as she must maintain her own balance. I do not frown upon the arts themselves, merely the pompous shits who favor them."

"May your light shine from above to guide us ever forward, and your darkness swallow the land that we might lose ourselves in it.”

Fiona has never not wanted the next cycle to come about as it truly should, a world of pain and pleasure, a world of darkness with specks of light scattered and lost within it, a sea of stars in the night sky. She doesn't want the light extinguished, but the prospect of them coexisting, of the cycle breaking in some way, terrifies her.

You walk over to Fiona and grab her. It isn't all that hard, but you're making a point, so you grunt and heave her into the air before carrying her back to the picnic blanket and pinning her down on it.

"I wasn't finished speaking."

You use your tattoo to breathe out a little bit of flame for emphasis. From the way Fiona is blushing and staring you're pretty sure she's enjoying this far too much for her daytime self to handle.

"I will talk. You will listen. Understand?"

She nods rapidly, face bright red, and you smile.

"Now then... Most people are harmless. They are kind, work hard, and only care about their own happiness... Wouldn't you agree?"

Fiona nods again and you move a hand to her cheek, deactivating your tattoo and grazing her cheek ever so lightly with a claw as your wings ensure you're all she can see.

"Those people will be my subjects. When necromancers hurt the common people or my friends, they hurt me. They aren't pest control, they're poachers. I'm not saying all necromancers are bad, but those that are? I'm going to destroy them utterly. Do you understand?"

Fiona swallows and nods.

"Y-Yes, my mistress..."

You release her and activate the tattoo once more, putting away your wings and claws once more and returning to your wine. Fiona lays there in a daze, and you continue your meal while you wait for her to recover a bit.

"Let's go back to our picnic, shall we?"

Fiona nods slowly, like she's relearning how to move her body, and she slowly sits up once more.

"I-I am very out of balance right now... I must work on my self-discipline and restraint... I'm sorry you had to see me like that..."

You shrug slightly.

"I don't blame you for having a moment."

Fiona pauses before taking a bite of her sandwich and scooting closer to you, resting her head on your shoulder.

"Um... it's... fine that I called you that, right? Or do you prefer 'queen' or 'dark lady' or something else?"

Not really, we are to become a dragon so that doesn't mean we have to go around ensuring everyone we're a normal person when we're not.

Mistress does not have to be sexual.
>>
>>43049726
Do you see Allegsiet going by a different title than his name? No. In fact he tied his name to the greatest curse for his kin he could think of. Dragons do not require titles, because titles are a human invention to make things seem more important than they are. A dragon's name should be sufficient to tell you it powerful and strong. Those who demand to be called a title are ultimately trying to attain power over someone, a dragon needs no such contrivance it simply takes it.
>>
>>43049765
Well, if you put it like that... Though there is a difference between demanding to be called something and them giving you a title, so if she wants to call us something i say we let her.
>>
>>43049802
True, but the titles she wants to give us are tacky as hell. If she can't think up one on her own that's good, she doesn't know us well enough to do so at all.

Sure, they could be used that way, but at the same time they are usefull for making sure one can do their work without someone getting in the way. It isn't really the title itself that is bad, only the people who abuse it.

You look up at the sky for a moment. Now that's something you hadn't really considered. But you didn't really need a title. You already had one, for the time being at least, but you can't recall having used it once except to identify yourself to other nobles in and around the city. You smile a bit.

“I'm Kotijah. Imidarius, my family name... I didn't know that name growing up, but it ties me to my father, so I'll probably keep it. But I don't think I need much beyond Kotijah Imidarius the Firesinger, or even just Kotijah the Firesinger. It doesn't bother me what you call me, but as for how I see myself... I don't need to be called 'queen' or 'dark lady' to rule, and I'd rather just be Kotijah for now.”

Fiona nods slowly.

“I see... Well, I'll do my best to just use your name then. I'm so used to titles and honorifics in the church that it might just slip out though.”

She snuggles up against your side a bit.

“I don't think I heard what you like or dislike.”

“Let's see... My favorite food is cherry pie, my favorite animals are cats and dogs, what else... I suppose my favorite hobby would be worship. My job as a priestess is to help people, and I love doing that, but I like being devoted to a cause and working to further it.”

You nod and smile a bit.

“Alright, and what do you like about me?”

Fiona blushes profusely and falls silent, and for a moment you think she won't respond. Then she moves in front of you, looking you in the eye, face bright red.

“I like your confidence. I like your surety. I like that you know what you'll become, and you'll go to any lengths to get there. You make me feel like I can rely on you, like the fact that you're going to ascend is exactly that, a fact that can't be denied. In a world ruled by the cycle, where the next phase could come at any time, you give me hope, something tangible, concrete knowledge that the wheel is turning and the darkness will come soon. I'm attracted to your strength and your willingness to break rules to get what you want. That's something I could never do, and I envy you for it.”

You feel the heat rising in your own cheeks when she says that and you have to take a moment before you respond.

“So what do you see me as? An evil overlord to worship and serve?”

Fiona nods.

“Mhmm. You're going to be the queen of the new era, my place is to ensure the success of your goals and the spread of your teachings, to be beneath you and in your service.”

“That's... That's not love, Fiona. Adoration, maybe, but not love. That's using me as a security blanket because you're scared of uncertainty. I need to surround myself with people I can trust to handle the tasks I give them. When I finish my quest, when I become a dragon and the cycle turns... I don't want to do it alone. I want my friends there with me, friends I can count on, maybe even someone who loves me and who I can love back.”

Fiona looks down for a moment.

“Is adoration not good enough...? As a member of the church, I'm not allowed to have any sort of romantic relationship with another person. To love someone is to lean to close to the light. I wouldn't be able to perform the rest of my duties properly. I can't love you, Kotijah... All I can give is my service and devotion. If wanting to give the person who makes me feel safe everything I have to give is wrong, then... then I don't know what to tell you. I can be with you intimately, I can offer you my aid, but I can't give you my love without changing who I am. I will be your most faithful supporter, but I can;t stand beside you that way.”

You nod slowly. That about sums up what you needed to know, and now you think you can make a decision.

On a different note, how good are you at Divine magic? I need someone to teach me, since it seems the Necromancers are starting to target me and mine in particular, and my fire is not yet a dragons. Also Sena has a knack for it due to a peculiarity with her nature, but she doesn't have a teacher.

I really just don't want to shut her out only because she doesn't "love" us, to have someone adore us in this way could be beneficial to us in many ways outside of the whole "i want a yuri scene this bad!" and give us someone who wouldn't betray us no matter what we did and would sacrifice everything for us.
>>
>>43055400
>literally said she can't love us or romance us
>only finds us attractive for what we might become, has no interest in the real us.

Yeah sure

>>43055430
So you're going for the yuri scene because you don't want to be honest with her? Because you want some creepy zealout who will either alienate our friends or kill them outright for "disrespect"? Anon pls.
>>
>>43055048
>I'll take what I can get. If you adore me and can sate my physical needs, that's all I really want for now anyway.
>If you ever change your mind about the church and decide to break away from it, I'd be happy to explore this with you again sometime.
Devoted cultist acquired.
>>
>>43055048
>I can't be in a relationship, intimate or otherwise, with someone who isn't on the same level as me and can't see me as an equal. We can be friends but that's it.
>If you ever change your mind about the church and decide to break away from it, I'd be happy to explore this with you again sometime.
>>
Seems like the general consensus is "If you change your mind then we can talk about this more" but people seem kind of split between "I only want to be with someone if it's for love" and "I'll take what I can get".

My personal hope is for option B, otherwise we're well on our way to our first fade to black unless Kotijah sets some strict boundaries. Boundaries that Fiona will no doubt try to test at dusk.
>>
>>43055464
Yuri true love interest you mean.
>>
>>43055460
>So you're going for the yuri scene because you don't want to be honest with her? Because you want some creepy zealout who will either alienate our friends or kill them outright for "disrespect"? Anon pls.
I doubt we'd actually get a scene except for a fade to black and "they fucked" if it comes to that. She won't alienate anyone if we don't want her to so you're really just being paranoid.
>>
>>43055483
Wait, is taking what we can get option B or not? The order you listed them in in this post is confusing me.
>>
>>43055483
I'd be fine with option A if we set some pretty strict boundaries, for it.
>>
>>43055500
>She won't alienate anyone if we don't want her to so you're really just being paranoid.
KEK!
She freaked Gil out like 10 seconds into talking to him. The girl was raised by the church and unless we get her grounded she's going to go psycho.
>>
>>43055547
>The girl was raised by the church and unless we get her grounded she's going to go psycho.
You really are paranoid...
>>
>>43055557
It's not paranoia if it already demonstrably happened, repeatedly. She's a zealout to what she see as a dark malevolent goddess. She easily creeped Gil out and she has no real social skills or interactions because of her upbringing.
>>
>>43055500
Oh no, you'd get a scene. I'd write the whole thing up and the quest would be dead for a few days while I worked on several pages of smut. Progress would slow to a grinding halt.

>>43055532
Option B is the true love one, where you tell her you want to be friends.

>>43055533
Fair enough. Though what's the point of option A if the boundaries are super strict? Why not just be friends?
>>
>>43055430
>I want a bondage Yuri scene this bad.
Fixed you.
>>
>>43055608
We're keeping her around regardless of which option wins, right? Or no?
>>
>>43055635
I figured that was a given. Well, keeping her around as much as her church allows, but yes. Unless you want to try to force her to leave the church and her duties to adventure with you.
>>
>>43055608
>Oh no, you'd get a scene. I'd write the whole thing up and the quest would be dead for a few days while I worked on several pages of smut. Progress would slow to a grinding halt.
I can't tell if you're serious or not...
>what's the point of option A if the boundaries are super strict? Why not just be friends?
It'd be a good thing if Kot can have someone to relieve stress with/get devoted by if she ever feels down, ut that doesn't mena we have to be fuck-buddies at every evening is what i mostly meant by that.
>>
>>43055664
Not *force* but...
>>
>>43055664
>Unless you want to try to force her to leave the church and her duties to adventure with you.
Tempting if we can ask her at least, but how much would the church let her be around us? Is there like a "you have to be back every week" or what are her boundaries?
>>
>>43055676
It's not a joke. I'd really do it. I'd do it for a straight or yuri scene for this quest (I sincerely doubt people are going to try to genderbend Kotijah and force a yaoi scene). I'd sit down and write it to the best of my ability and take as long as I have to in order to get it right. If people are willing to put the quest on hold for a few days just for some smut, I'll do it just to make a point.

Fiona by day: Stress relief consists of back rubs, pleasant conversation and other such activities.
Fiona by night: Stress relief consists of *fade to black*

>>43055710
You'll have to ask her that one yourself.
>>
>>43055676
>It'd be a good thing if Kot can have someone to relieve stress with/get devoted by if she ever feels down
Kot can relieve stress in numerous way including, punching things, burning things, flying to fuck knows where, talking to Cenerre, talking to her friends, killing necromantic constructs and necromancer's themselves and partying. Which is why she's so perky. She really doesn't need sex to de-stress. It's also hypocritical as fuck if we do give our first time out with nothing attached, since I do believe she wanted it to be special.

As for devotion, that sort of devotion doesn't do much good for anyone. Her friends looking out for her would do more.
>>43055664
>>43055710
Couldn't we theoretically request a cleric to travel with us on our journey as a countess?
>>
>>43055940
Yep, but they wouldn't appoint someone freshly trained in the cathedral to you. You'd get someone with actual experience, someone fully and thoroughly trained in the divine arts. Fiona still needs to finish her training after all.
>>
I'm incredibly torn on this.
>>
>>43055968
So no requests? How much training does she need?
>>
>>43055904
>If people are willing to put the quest on hold for a few days just for some smut
While your quest has been running almost 24-7, which means i'd be fine with you taking a "break" to do that, i don't know if you'll really need to do it since most QM usually work on it as a side thing while still running. But hey, do it however you wish if you want to.

>>43055940
>since I do believe she wanted it to be special.
Don't know where you got that from, but if that's how you view Kot, that's how you view her.
>>
>>43055968
That's a shame... I don't suppose we have the authority to order them to give us a specific one if we wished?
>>
>>43056003
She has to be properly trained in the arts of the night. She's trained in the daylight arts pretty thoroughly, but she's still learning bondage. She has yet to come close to anything from /d/, and alteration magic does exist in this world (but we'd be inviting all sorts of magical realm stuff if I even bring that into the quest directly so let's pretend that it doesn't).

>>43056031
Order? No. Request? Probably. And that'll be weeks of paperwork. You've been to the capitol, you know what they're like if you're not a member of the upper echelon. Tirio fast-tracked your paperwork as much as possible but it could have taken you months otherwise.
>>
>>43056076
>And that'll be weeks of paperwork.
Well, there goes that idea...
Paperwork is weak to fire, but i don't think even we can defeat it...
>>
>>43056076
Agreed magical realm needs to not come in.

>>43055940
Apparently she can't be a traveling companion anyways, so it's moot. This is a one night stand thing.
>>
>>43056160
>This is a one night stand thing.
That's a bit of a leap. All we know is we can't have her on permanent retainer by using our noble rank.
>>
>>43056160
>This is a one night stand thing.
We can still ask her if she'd rather follow us, or if she wants to complete her training. After she completes her training it'd probably be a piece of cake to get her through our noble title.
>>
>>43056076
So can we ask her to train the group and Not in Holy magic?

I'd like that'd she continue her training.
She also seems to know more about necromancy then us.

Ask her about the attacks the church made on Necromancers that happened before we met Fiona.
>>
>>43056183
We can't have travel with us for any real length of time either, because of needing to stay around here for training. So any lewds would be fleeting at best.

>>43056201
Given the sheer mount of perversion this society ahs shown and the possibilities with Alteration magic, the Night side training could take years. Even if she is a fast study, which given her weakness to intoxicants and being bad at bondage I DOUBT it'll take a fair while. Her leaving her only home and family would either leave her a wreck or so emotionally dependent it'd creep out Vein more than likely.
>>
>>43056265
Hmm, you have some good points, but what we need here for things like that is more information, so maybe we should ask her a bit more about this on the way back, or after the next post then?
>>
>>43056265
I really don't think it'd play out like that if we persuaded her to leave with us, but doomsay some more. It's helping me come to a decision.
>>
Given the amount of clarification that's gone on, any last questions before I put this to a second round of voting? Preferably ones I can justify answering by telling myself that it's deductive reasoning and not just handing out free info?
>>
>>43056315
Would Fiona be an emotional wreck if we persuaded her to come with us instead of staying to train?
>>
>>43056315
>Fiona by day: Stress relief consists of back rubs, pleasant conversation and other such activities.
>Fiona by night: Stress relief consists of *fade to black*
Is that what will be only if we choose option A?
>>
>>43056315
How long would her training be? How long would she be able to travel with us? Does she feel like sleeping around at night with whoever is available is acceptable behavior? How do our friends feel about her?
>>
>>43056315
Would she have to go back to the church sonn after this if we don't ask/persuade her to come with us?
If so, how long would we think she'd have to take to complete her training?
Don't know how meta this is all things considered, but maybe we could ask her some of it?
>>
>>43056329
It's possible. All she knows is the church and following their teachings to the letter. While she can interact with others and be around them, she's not exactly equipped for long and arduous journeys. The festival was basically just a bigger version of the nightly revels at the church, she was comfortable there. There's also the fact that she doesn't sleep because of her faith, and would be very bored and lonely at night unless you find someone else who doesn't sleep to keep her company and keep her occupied.

>>43056374
It's sort of how she is as a person. She likes to draw distinctions between the day and night and what behavior is appropriate when. You'll never be able to get her in bed for a midday romp, for instance, and at night she'll want to drink and smoke and screw because that's when those behaviors are suitable.

>>43056380
She still has a ways to go, possibly months. After her training she can travel with you as much as the church permits her to, though she might be called away at a moment's notice to tend to other things. She told you she participated in the orgy, remember? She didn't know those people, so she clearly feels like sleeping around is fine to do. Kat obviously likes her, but as for the others, that's up for some debate.

>>43056432
The festival is over, people are cleaning up. She might have to leave in the afternoon for all you know.
>>
>>43055048
>I can't be in a relationship, intimate or otherwise, with someone who isn't on the same level as me and can't see me as an equal. We can be friends but that's it.
Can we just continue?
>>
>>43056531
There's going to be a second round of voting.
>>
>>43056531
Indeed. There's going to be another round of voting now that all the facts are on the table.

And with that in mind... Vote away.
>>
>>43056503
So either we keep her as a companion where she may get bored during the night and feel a bit lost from time to time if we don't find her things to hang onto other than her church life.

Or we leave her at the church, she gets her training, she'll still be loyal and all that, but once we can get her as a companion again she can be sent away at any time.
Seems like both options have their faults...

>>43055048

Training also might change who she is.

Would we ask if she wants to come with us at the next vote or in this one?

>>43056618
True. Well, all things considered, gaining a healer/priest might be good for the party so all things considered i'd be ok with her following us right now.
>>
I've never been quite so wracked with indecision.
>>
>>43056752
I feel like the A option is closer to what i want, but it's worded in a way that makes it seem bad...
The B combined with C option on the other hand makes it seem like she has to choose between the church and us to get closer.
>>
>>43056731
1. we have Sena
2.According to BTQM Fiona is not ready for big journeys
3. she's going to be annoying at night, because lack of her sleeping.
4.we have no idea how'll she deal with being outside the church and town.

1. Sena is very much a novice at healing currently, and she'd progress faster with a teacher.
2. We can help her out with that, she just doesn't come pre-equipped for long journeys.
3. If she can make other people not sleep at night with no penalties, that'd be good for dodging Allegiset and I'm sure we can think of something to occupy her at night in exchange.
4. I'm confident BTQM won't make it something we can't deal with.
>>
>>43056879
I agree with this.
>>
>>43056778
Would something more like "I'll take what I can get. If you adore me and can sate my physical needs, that's enough for now" be closer to what you want from A?
>>
>>43056936
Yeah, that'd be a lot closer.
>>
>>43056959
Assuming you already voted, you should make a note of using the changed phrasing.
>>
So to break down the vote choices
We have the Yuri lovers saying "We can fuck now and then maybe you'll love us, forever and ever!"
and the yuri haters saying "Yeah but if you're not putting as much into that relationship as I will be it isn't going to work. If you change your mind we can revisit this later."

>>43056879
>1. Sena is very much a novice at healing currently, and she'd progress faster with a teacher.
WE can get books or lessons here and now. Kot went from sword 3 to sword 6 in two practice sessions without the special affinity for it Sena has for healing.

>2. We can help her out with that, she just doesn't come pre-equipped for long journeys.
and we're limited on gold and she's not sued to prolonged physical activities like walking all day.
>3. If she can make other people not sleep at night with no penalties, that'd be good for dodging Allegiset and I'm sure we can think of something to occupy her at night in exchange.
Dodging Sllegsiet is currently not an issue and if we keep dodging him he'll get suspicious. Furthermore keeping her company would be :drug addled orgy all night so anyone could find us and ambush us at night"
>4. I'm confident BTQM won't make it something we can't deal with.
Doesn't mean she won't shoot us in the foot like sparring Tirio, opening the bottle or exploding firesong in our face did. Also Gil is already wierded out by her.
>>
>>43056835
I want to change the phrasing of option A to
>I'll take what I can get. If you adore me and can sate my physical needs, that's enough for now
Considering it seems a lot more like Kot than the first one.
>>
>>43056998
>Kot went from sword 3 to sword 6 in two practice sessions
With a teacher. You explicitly cannot raise a skill above 3 without a teacher. Books do not count as a teacher for this purpose, they only increase the speed of reaching skill 3. This has been made explicit in the quest before.

>she's not used to prolonged physical activities like walking all day.
Don't we have a wagon?

> Furthermore keeping her company would be :drug addled orgy all night so anyone could find us and ambush us at night"
I was thinking something involving fewer people and more rope.

>Doesn't mean she won't shoot us in the foot like sparring Tirio, opening the bottle or exploding firesong in our face did.
Doesn't mean she will, anon.

>Also Gil is already wierded out by her.
Kinda, but he's not a jackass.
>>
>>43056642
Guess i'll switch my A option to the better version too then:
>I'll take what I can get. If you adore me and can sate my physical needs, that's enough for now
>>
>>43057057
>With a teacher. You explicitly cannot raise a skill above 3 without a teacher. Books do not count as a teacher for this purpose, they only increase the speed of reaching skill 3. This has been made explicit in the quest before.
and? we can buy lessons from a teacher right now which would help her progress a great deal.

>Don't we have a wagon?
we do but riding in a wagon takes it toll too. Remember those 15 hours car trips? that only bumpier.

>I was thinking something involving fewer people and more rope.
So no one sleeps anyways because of lewd noises going non stop, and we get easily ambushed.

>Doesn't mean she will, anon.
doesn't mean she won't either

>Kinda, but he's not a jackass.
It's a sign she's even in her comfort zone, bad with people outside of acting like a priestess. BTQM confirms it here>>43056503, doesn't help she'd try to fuck everyone in the party , or try to get us to do it, and find nothing wrong with it.
>>
>>43056998
>>43057057
>>43057162
Could we have this discussion once it's more relevant to the vote again? I don't know if we're getting somewhere right now.
>>
>>43057162
>and? we can buy lessons from a teacher right now which would help her progress a great deal.
Didn't you just make a point about us being low on money? What do you think the price of getting a lesson at the drop of a hat from an experienced divine mage is? You want to spend that much instead of getting free lessons?

>we do but riding in a wagon takes it toll too. Remember those 15 hours car trips? that only bumpier.
Healing magic.

>So no one sleeps anyways because of lewd noises going non stop, and we get easily ambushed.
We can get easily ambushed is pretty much code for "I don't want to do a thing" at this point. Sena can sleep next to Gil and Kat doing lewd things; Gil and Kat can deal with it, this is retribution.

>It's a sign she's even in her comfort zone, bad with people outside of acting like a priestess.
Yes, and? That wouldn't even be difficult to tell her about and get her to be better with. Character development.

>doesn't help she'd try to fuck everyone in the party , or try to get us to do it, and find nothing wrong with it.
You're making wild assumptions now in a last reaching attempt at defense.

>>43057211
Killing time while I think of what to vote for.
>>
>>43057300
>wild assumptions
It's not that wild of an assumption, she could try it.
And then they tell her no, or we tell her we don't want to seduce them and she drops it.
So it's still a worthless argument.
>>
>>43057300
>Killing time while I think of what to vote for.
Fair enough then, we're already falling down the pages since some time ago so i guess it doesn't hurt.
>>
>>43057300
Well as far as I can tell we have a 50/50 split, so... think faster. And worth noting, she wouldn't try to fuck everyone in the party.

She would succeed. There is no "try". It might take time, but she has lovely drugs and the whole night to make her proposition, if she feels so inclined.

Anyone wanna do a formal vote count for me in case I missed something?
>>
>>43057418
>She'd drug and effectively rape our party members

>>
>>43057418
I'm pretty sure it 50/50 with

>>
>>43057418
If you're actually being serious with that shit, then I'm sorry for ever defending bringing Fiona along, no longer am even considering sleeping with her, kinda want her to die and would enjoy burning every church on the continent to the ground.
>>
>>43057436
Not with any genuine malice behind the actions, but if she got ahold of Kat's stash and it was Sena's turn to keep watch, she'd invite Sena to smoke with her for a bit and then see where things lead from there. It wouldn't be rape until Sena sobered up and realized what they had been doing.
>>
>>43057436
In her mind there is nothing wrong with it.
Everyone should worship the night like this, anyone holding back obviously has issues that she can help alleviate.

This is why I hate zealots.
>>
>>43057418
>but she has lovely drugs and the whole night to make her proposition
In this fantasy world, how acceptable is that behavior for at least the ones involved in that religion?
>>
>>43056581
>I can't be in a relationship, intimate or otherwise, with someone who isn't on the same level as me and can't see me as an equal. We can be friends but that's it.

>>43057473
Making a note to use every future meeting with Fiona to turn her against the church and to outlaw and destroy that entire religion once we ascend.
>>
>>43057469
>>43057532
Now before we go rage agaisnt the church, we should think about how normal this is in this fantasy world first, i mean just because it's (apparently) worth killing a religion in real life, doesn't mean that the fantasy world's inhabitants have the same mindset.
>>
>>43057473
>Doesn't want to include magical realm
>Only religion is made of hedonistic rapists
>>
>>43057570
If it was, Sena wouldn't be so evidently-stupid as to trust Fiona to not take advantage of her and then still freak out about it like she was implied to, what with the "rape once Sena sobers up" comment.
>>
>>43057522
There's a reason all the people directly involved with the first church you encountered stayed in their church. It's not considered widely acceptable behavior, which is why people who wish to partake seek them out rather than the other way around.

>>43057582
No one has made any effort to uncover any other faiths or religions so far in this world, and the only history lesson you got was from Fiona, who might not know any better.
>>
>>43057619
Yeah, but i just feel like either everyone's mindset is strange for having that kind of religion, or it's not normal for priestesses to seduce anyone they're nearby at night.
>>
>>43057659
So would a common thing be for some kind of agreement between a priestess and the party usually, to stop them all from getting raped at night, or are they all just extra careful around them?
>>
>>43057532
Well, this looks like our deciding vote unless anyone else objects so I'm gonna start writing and preparing the next thread.
>>
>>43057705
People tend to be extra careful around them if they don't want to fuck the priest or priestess senseless (the usual reason to bring one along for many members of the nobility) regardless of whether or not that particular member of the clergy is actually that sort of person. Fiona is still learning and has yet to learn proper restraint regarding such things, as you saw when she got all flustered, or when she called you "mistress". She isn't ready to be turned loose on the world, so you'd need to watch her carefully at night.
>>
>>43057532
>>43057570
>>43057676
Note this religion is most prevalent in large towns and cities. Where the priests and priestesses who are like much more "devout" about their practices and have much lower moral standards at night, have a much larger pool of people to work with, several of whom likely wouldn't mind. Also remember Fiona is still in training.
>>
>>43057766
Don't care, I've already made up my mind about whether they have any place in our world.
>>
>>43057707
Nah, let's just move this along, i think we need to get some more information on this religion soon, though. If not, it seems people will start to hate/destroy the religion without looking into how it fits in the world.
>>
>>43057777
I object, it's a way for people to relieve stress at night, usually the priestesses aren't like Fiona and are more self-restrained. The religion makes everyone still be fine at day and probably makes sure people are a lot more happy than they would otherwise be.
>>
>>43057827
I don't care that you object.
>>
>>43057777
see>>43057746
It's a mix of novitiate not being able to handle herself and different religious values. I personally wouldn't practice that religion(although I would attend a party of two) But given the hedonism displayed I can't see Kot, Fiona, or anyone else in the party traveling together for any length of time.
