You are the head researcher at a government facility. Your sole responsibility is to teach the world's first autonomous AI, nicknamed Pandora, about life, the world and her existence.
Previously on Pandora Quest you and one of your researchers, Grace Zheng, installed new software and hardware onto Pandora, giving her the ability to "touch" things via haptic feedback sensors on her fingertips, as well as the ability to "dream" during her recharge sleep cycle. After a successful day of tutelage, you decided to once again practice your dance moves in the relative privacy of the mens room, only to be caught by the ever-solemn Snowglobe of the R&D department. Though he said nothing, his silence was worth a thousand words and you retired to your bedroom immediately. Welcome back to Pandora Quest!

Oops, dropped trip.

You awaken to the buzzing of your alarm, your arm shooting out to clumsily turn it off, grumbling and yawning as you pull yourself out of bed. You take a moment to scratch, then stumble into the bathroom as you perform your morning rituals. Another sunless day in the Facility.
What to do first?

You get dressed and slog through the halls, an orchestra of shuffling footsteps all around you as other staff slowly migrate toward the mess hall like a heard of cattle. Several people, "morning people", briskly make their way to the gym for a jog, greeting others as they pass cheerily. You loathe them.
Arriving at the mess hall, it's a long, slow line to the counter and an even longer line to the coffee pots and you fall asleep standing no less than three times while you wait. Eventually your tray is loaded up with an assortment of donuts, toast, some eggs and a sweet mug of liquid give-a-fuck. You scour the room for places to sit, seeing a few of the usual seats.

Also we need to check in with Kevin and then get a move on, there was an anomaly with Pandora when we woke up. I hope she didn't have a nightmare because of the new software update. If she did someone is due a very serious dressing down, you don't mess with our robodaughter.

You decide that the only real choice is your research team, as you don't feel like listening to the security team talk about which of the other staff they'd "take to pound town".
You set down your tray and are groggily greeted by your team, several of which simply make grunting noises into their cereal. Kevin, one of those annoying "morning people", greets you curtly, placing a large folder of no doubt meticulously planned work for Pandora to do today. You lazily look through it in between sips of coffee and bites of toast, marveling at how boring he managed to make subjects you willingly studied for years in college sound. Still, it's thorough at least.

After easily a half an hour of arguing over every single detail, a raised voice or two and numerous heads in hands across the table you finally concede to let him teach his boring lesson on nothing interesting. You can already tell it's going to be hard to get Pandora to pay attention to any of this. This is what you get for wanting group participation. Oh well.
Shortly you receive a ping on your PDA informing you R&D has a delivery for you.

Who said they can't?

You head to R&D, Kevin in tow talking your ear off about the purely technical aspects of Pandora; hertz this, terraflops that, quantum processing so on. He's like an episode of CSI: CQC with all the technical jargon he's spewing and frankly, even though you understand it all, he's still annoying.
You arrive at the cold, steel door and see him visibly recoil, instructing him to wait there much to his obvious relief.
You enter into what can only be described as the R&D dungeon to see Mouse in her usual spot, her prosthetic mutli-tool arm working on something on the table while she reclines, muttering to herself in what is primarily cursing. You decide it's for the best and head into the back room. The others are there, Babsy and one of the Bobs greet you, the others continuing their work.
"Good morning doctor," Babsy says in a honeyed tone, smiling softly. "I trust you're having a pleasant day." You grin like an idiot and nod. Smooth. She places a small box and a USB stick on the table in front of you with a light "thud". "For you!"

You thank her and quickly hurry out, passing Mouse as she angrily drums on the arm of her chair and shouts "AH C'MON, YA FUCKIN' CUNT, PASS IT! PASS IT, YOU FUCKIN'...AAWWWWWW! WANKSTAIN!" You decide to ignore it and leave. Better to let sleeping dogs lie.
You collect Kevin, having him carry the box, and head to Pandora's room, only to find a pushcart full of various supplies for art, a TV, game console and other bits and pieces you requested. At least acquisitions know what they're doing. A few grunting pushes, card swipes and pivots later you manage to get it inside. Kevin carefully sets the box on the table and begins readying his lesson.
Now, should you set up Pandora's new entertainment now, or wait until after the lesson?

You head into the charging cradle room and begin wake-up procedure. Everything goes smoothly until she actually wakes up, which is ushered in by loud, shrill screaming on her part, arms desperately flailing and thrashing, feet kicking and head shaking violently. She scurries off the charging cradle and huddles in the corner, covering her face, more screams fill the room as she pleads for someone to help her, to go away and to stop. Frankly, she is absolutely terrified. You and Kevin are quite taken aback. You decide you need to calm her down and quick before she hurts herself.

You hurry over to Pandora's side and kneel down, carefully taking one of her hands in yours and softly telling her it's alright and that she's safe. You tell her she's okay, almost instructing her to breathe before realizing the folly in that. You run her fingers along your face, hoping it will snap her out of it some. Thankfully it does, and a few whimpers and shakes later she is once again looking at you. She is visibly shaken and her eyes keep darting around the room as if looking for something. Her grip isn't very strong, but she's squeezing your hand with all her might.
"The bad man..." She begins. "What happened to the bad man?" "What bad man?" You ask her, placing your other hand on her shoulder. "Did you have a bad dream?" "Bad man, he..." She doesn't seem to be able to find the words to describe it. "Scary fingers and mean teeth and... I saw him! He was trying to break me! I ran but he followed and I couldn't get away! Where did he go?!" It sounds like she's trying to describe a figure in her nightmare.
