Hello and welcome (back) to the Minotaur Civilization Quest! If you remember last thread, you’ll recall we:

>A)
Attempted to diplomacy with the Dark Elves. This took up half the thread as we soon found out they were apparently a race of dicks. This led to us, among other things, decapitating numerous guards, pissing off the two sisters in charge of the place, and meeting a giant named Uthgard Rritov. He seemed like a nice fellow.

>B)
Discovered we lived at the North Pole, which explains quite a lot actually.

>C)
Sent out William to go fuck the Queen Bee again to keep the agreement up. During this time we made a giant lava lake around the capital to keep out the Dark Elves, since they didn’t have enough of a reason to hate us. Well, that and the rampant drug problem.

>D)
Still have not dealt with that zombie Minotaur. This could come back to bite us in the ass soon.

Upon further investigation, Sleepite is found to induce weight loss and increased libido. These two are not mutually exclusive, and leads to some bone-thin Minotaurs and humans running ass-naked down the street and yelling for someone, ANYONE, to just hurry up and fuck them. It's honestly quite hilarious.

>A2: Arts
>58: Average!

Higher thoughts, like arts, have been somewhat elusive to your people. For the longest time life was pragmatic. Wake up, eat, fuck, do work, come home, fuck, sleep, repeat. There was little time for enjoyment or refined entertainment. As of late this has changed.

Some of the more...gifted, tauren have started to draw up figures on stone walls. Some are etched, some are plastered on. Their quality varies. Some are stick figures, others are masterworks.

The Minotaur who decided it would be a good idea to eat some random weed he found growing on the side of his house walks into the Sleep labs. His presence goes largely unnoticed, as he had been a researcher for quite some time. As casually as possible, he drops a bit of Sleep dust onto a few leaves, and then has quick nom.

The tauren's eyes go wide, then shut. Then they begin to blink rapidly as the poor being is assaulted with massive sensory overload. Colors become tasteful, hearing is impossible because of how bright it is. All in all, fun times. A few hours later, after stumbling around, the man comes too, surrounded by yellow snow.

>A3: Hydromancy that shit.
>89: Great success!

The smell of cooked flesh and smoke quickly wakes up any who were sleeping, and soon people are running outside screaming for help as their entire lives (and your civilization) go up in flames. Their cries for help soon reach the ears of the Mage's Guild, as well as Catherine. Leading the relatively small force out into the streets, they set to work.

The beginning was relatively easy. The fires were restricted primarily to the western bit of Drozen, and were quickly contained with massive walls of water and quickly melted ice. Actually fighting the blaze was the hard part. You see, the fires had spread to a massive storage of Sleep, which as you know is highly flammable. The end result is numerous large craters, piles of bits of bodies, and more fires in general. At some point, Catherine gets fed up with this shit (hooray pregnancy) and decides to just flood the place. Miraculously, no one was inside. The fires are soon quelled and the walls are lowered. Everyone receives a free bath and reconstruction begins.

>59: Average!

As people begin to sift through the smoldering ashes of their homes, tears begin to fall. Soon this escalates into fountains, then waterfalls, and if they eight hundred were still here there would be a goddamn flood. The idea of "making up for the losses" is spoken of, but only in hushed tones. Too much has been lost, and the Awaken in particular seem deeply upset with this. Love didn't survive this, but her sister Sorrow came and broke the hearts of all who went near the ruins.

The Armless One takes a long walk through Drozen. The streets he has known all his life have changed, and many familiar faces are gone or turned to various shades of withered grey. As well as those who turned to ash. He returns back to his fields, tending to the sheep as he always has.

Then, something goes off in his head.

>”We take up space that the tauren and humans could use, yet we don’t eat, drink, or even sleep.”

>”Are we a burden to them?”

>”Perhaps we should leave…”

The next morning, he ventures over to the Royal Palace and asks for an audience with King Brakla.

>”Pardon the interruption sir, but I speak for many of my brethren when I say:”

>”We are leaving. We take up far too much space in the cities, and wish to give you more freedom to live. We thank you for your help, and will be establishing a settlement of our own to the west. Have a nice day.”

He leaves, with a shocked Brakla and Catherine behind him. The Awaken file out in a semi-orderly manner, to the dry-eyed stares of the remaining citizens.

>24: Below average failure!

A loud banging is heard inside the Mages Guild's halls. This is not unusual, as mages have certain desires they need fulfilled as well. However, this is different. It has no rthymn, it's much more sporadic and primal. This is soon followed by scratching as people draw near, as well as audible groans that send shivers up the spines of those nearby. One young Minotaur with balls of Highland Steel decides to open the door, as he needs to study up on his Aeromancy.

He finds a decrepit corpse, with mottled green skin, sunken eyes, strips of flesh hanging off, and maw wide open. It reaches out to him, grasping onto his shoulder with an unholy grip. Before he can pull away the creature bites down on his muzzle, tearing massive chunks of meat off. Then bone. It is forced off, dripping fresh blood. It's skull is soon smashed by a small boulder summoned as the Minotaur screeched in agony. He soon passes out, and many bury him preemptively.

>R4: Prosthetic limbs
>15+5+5+5=30: Failure!

Some of the more inventive members of your civilization offer to help out the burn victims with artificial limbs. They interpret this as "we'll fix up your limbs." What they actually mean is they will chop off the body parts and replace them with constructs. Needless to say, this was not very popular with many people, and led to the deaths of the workers at the hands of an angry mob.

Brakla's had a long (day, week, we don't have a calender so I can't really say). First the city lights on fire, then Catherine gets pissy, then she floods a tenth of the city, then the Awaken leave. And now people are lobbing off limbs! He lets out a disgruntled sigh as he goes to check on the heir, and finds the little baby pleasantly sleeping. The only strange thing about her would be the abundant amount of plant life growing. Nothing major mind you, just abnormal amounts of moss and the like.

News soon spreads to Cuth of the Great Fire of Drozen. This is met with much the same reaction as those in the city, as many had relatives who lived inside the affected area. However, the desire to leave is nonexistant, and many glaring looks are given to the people by Milomir.

>A2: Mountain Fort
>25: Below average failure!
What does take hold is the idea of making an unassailable mountain-top fortress. Unfortunately for many people involved, the ground in Cuth is very shaky, and the Dwarves collectively say:

>"Leave ze mountains to us. Zhey are, er, vere, our home."

>R: Dwarf happiness
>55+5+5+5=70: Above average success!

Before they return to moping about the underground of Cuth, Milomir has a few questions to ask. Deciding it would be best to speak with their leader, he pays a visit to the female dwarf from before. She looks up to him, apparently trying to drown her sorrows in barrels of ale.

>"To put it zimply, ve like beer, fighting, vatching fights, and mining. Kind of like ze humans."

Milomir takes this into deep thought, and he and Tsunami dig out a massive pit, line it with stone, and open up an arena directly linked to the Dwarf homes! This has a noticeable affect on the little buggers, leading to them having more than one emotion!

>1: Critical. Fucking. Failure.

William leaves a teary eyed Sophie with Brakla at the Royal Palace, then sets out for the Hive. Along the way, he hears the drone carrying him mutter to herself about some "darkies," and he soon makes the connection. This leads to the drone having a few crushed fingers and William fuming to himself. As he the desert sun beats down on him, he sees several tents set up outside the golden yellow Hive. After the drone sets him down, he gets a closer look and sees that these are...These are Dark Elves.

William makes his way through the camp towards the entrance with his blade at the ready. He feels the numerous pairs of eyes staring right at him, as well as the Guard Captain's. She begrudgingly lets him in, and he soon finds his way to the throne room. Inside he sees the heavily armored guard from before, as well as what appears to be Dai' Ly. The muffled voice of the guard speaks.

>"And that, your majesty, is why we require your assistance in eliminating the Minotaurs."

The Queen looks rather bored, but instantly perks up upon seeing William, and gives him a friendly wave. The two turn around to see him, and the guard goes for their weapon.

William follows much the same routine he did with his rescue of Sophie. Crack the neck, draw your weapon, look psycho. This has the intended effect, causing Dai' Ly to start dripping sweat and Queenie to blush.

>"Alrright. I t'ought we've been o'er this you cunts. Don' touch mah friends. Don' touch mah family. Now tell me."

He gets right up in the guard's face, staring through the eye-holes to see two dark hazel eyes.

The guard is unfazed, while Dai' Ly seems to be backing up slowly and reaching for her own weapon.

>"Simple. Pest control. They are impure, and need to be eliminated so that the civilized races like the Elves and other humanoids can thrive"

Queen Cloa sees where this is going and steps between the two.

>A: Knock it the fuck off.

William matches the Queen's glare with his own, speaking a bit louder now. Whether or not this is to be intimidating or if he's getting pissed is unclear.

>"Well ahm sorrry, but yer favorrite fuck toys are apparrently deservin' extinction!"

The Queen retracts, surprised at his suddenly hostile tone. Taking a deep breath, William continues.

>"Look, ahm sorrry fer yellin', but t'ese bitches don't know wha' tah fook they're talking about. Please 'elp me ou' here."

Cloa sits back down on her throne, hand on her chin as she thinks this over. Suddenly the guard interjects.

>"Your majesty, I am sorry but this man is clearly out of his mind. He murdered innocent guards to try and keep a mongrel alive, and he defends genocidal beasts that surround their cities with lava! I do believe we are the ones in the right here."

William, fed up with bullshit, draws his weapon and mutters.

If looks could kill, the guard would be vaporized. Little inklings of black begin to fill William's pale blue eyes as he glacially turns towards the guard. He begins to walk towards them, dragging his sword along the ground.

>"Mongrrel? SHE'S MY FOOKIN' DAUGHTER!"

He's picking up speed now, almost in an all out sprint (holy fuck this throne room is big).

>"Innocent? YOU TRRIED TO KILL A LI'LE GIRL!"

>"Honey, would ya be so kin' as to arrrest t'ese stuckup, inbred, low down, vile, repulsive, child-beatin', shit eatin', cock sucking, ass-fucking, mindless, and all around dumbass bitches?"

The Queen is repulsed by these words, knowing full well something's up with William. Dai' Ly herself has been reduced to tears, and her weapon lies to the ground besides her.

>"G-guards? GUARDS!"

The familiar sound of clanking metal and thumping boots fills the room, and William grunts out:

>"Call 'em off. T'is is between us."

The guard mumbles to herself about how she was right, then lunges for William, broadsword in hand.

Now, that block, angular armor is bound to make a hell of a lot of noise when moving. Before the guard could even get off the ground William's sword was in position to riposte the attack. When the two swords made contact, he was able to quickly force the guard back and onto the floor. Scurrying to get up, the two soon met with their swords interlocked just above the guard's neck.

>"Get off me now or I will gut you and make your innards into a fine meal."

William leans in closer, pressing his forehead against the cold metallic helm, and replies:

>"It's called haggis you li'le bitch."

With that, William is able to force his sword in a way that knocks of the guard's helmet. Well, knock off is a very loose term. It was pretty much cut open with the blade, but didn't hit the guard's head. He is swiftly kicked off, accidentally (or intentionally slicing open the breastplate, as well as his own jacket. As he gets up, he sees vibrant green skin, black hair, and tusks. And boobs. Can't forget the boobs. The guard soon follows, cheeks flushed pink but still pretty damn angry.

A look of confusion crosses the woman's face as she tries to interpret whatever gibberish just came out of this human's mouth. This is met with a wild charge by William, battering her sword to the side and unintentionally his own.

>"Fook, needed t'at...Ah well!"

The Orc makes a mad grab for the man, knocking him to the ground and wrestling about. During the struggle, William manages to force himself on top of her.

>"Heh, 'pure rrace' mah left bullock! You go' fookin' tusks growing out yer mouth, and ya say t'at the tauren are beasties? Ya need a bit o' sense knocked into you. And I'm happy to oblige!"

With this, he socks the girl right in the jaw, sending her (and himself) sliding across the floor. The Orc spits out a jagged tooth, a bit of blood, and begrudgingly says:

>A: Punishment
>76: Above average success!

William cranes his head around, naked sans for his trademark kilt. His eyes are their familiar and comforting blue, with no traces of black except for his pupils. His smile is wide and warm, and he speaks in a friendly tone.

>"Yer majesty, t'ese two, er atleast t'is one, has proven that they're a bunch o' fooking hypocrites. What's the punishment?"

He then realizes the Cloa is not there, and instead hiding behind the throne, shaking to her very bones. She pokes her head out nervously.

>"A-are you William?"

A confused look similar to the Orc's appears on William's face, but is soon dismissed by a toothy grin.

>"Ah t'ink it's me, might need you to verify."

He winks at the last bit, eliciting a quiet giggle from Dai' Ly and a groan from the Orc. The Queen steps out, then brushes herself off. Clearing her throat, she speaks.

>"I will have to consult with my advisers. This is a rather unique situation..."

She disappears into the hall, leaving the three alone.

The trio had been pissing about waiting for her to return, and her voice made them jump. Well, except for the Orc. She was still splattered across the floor. William's smile is still as wide as it was before, and Dai' Ly seems to have stopped crying.

>"Orc. You are to spend time with the Drones and open your mind. Following this, you will return to Drozen with my husband and learn the ways of the tauren. Hopefully this will prevent further incident."

She turns to Dai' Ly, who seems to have started crying again, specifically when she said "husband."

>"As for you, you are to return to your capital and inform your sister I won't exterminate those I consider friends. To compensate for your foolishness, you are to supply my friend with your most valuable resource, as with me."

Dai' Ly gets up, watching as the Orc is dragged away. She gives a nod and begins to walk out towards the entrance of the Hive. William turns to Queenie and is met with a hard SMACK.

This has led some of the more kind hearted members of your community to establish homes specifically for those who face addiction or other mental health problems. Current treatments are primarily restricted to locking the person in question in a room and hoping they recover.

It's been a good time in Drozen. Reconstruction is coming along nicely, the people are happy, the tournament's brought in enough people to sustain an economy all on it's own, and in general things seem to be looking up. This is reflected in the music, as between fights people are invited to come out onto the arena floor and play for all to hear. This leads to some rather impressive groups forming and becoming popular. Of note, this includes King, the Scarabs, and others. People take this opportunity to have a little "fun" if you catch my drift.

>A8: Roundtable
>79: Above average success!

Brakla has been thinking to himself recently. Running a kingdom is not easy, as shown by the fact he almost looks like an elder when he's really only (early 30's ish). He has a stroke of genius as he decides on a course of action. All the important people in his realm, regardless of race, will be part of an order to protect and guide the fledgling kingdom. Of course, his word will still overrule an action he deems extreme, but hey, it's better than nothing. He dubs this order, "The Golden Horns."

Roldana has one turn remaining to be fully healed. You can choose to save this roll or receive a +10 bonus to a future Cuth action/tech.

>62+5+5+5=77: Above average success!

The quiet of the jungle is discomforting to the people of Cuth. Normally there are the sounds of birds and other animals doing whatever it is they do that can be heard all throughout the canopy. However, they seem to have stopped. Patrols are sent out to try and find out if this has something to do with the Fungals. They wander about for a bit, and soon find the ruins that were left from your air raid. Among the rubble, they find a tauren corpse with something written in blood across it's chest.

>R: Prosthetic limbs
>76: Above average success!

While the current limbs you have are fine and dandy, they lack the ability to channel magical energy like natural limbs do. They also have a tendency to randomly fall of or be rejected by the body. This has led to some of the more creative soldiers and mages to try and fix this issue. The end result is a hard tropical wood carved into the limb in question, along with all the functioning parts and moving bits. This is then inlaid with copper and sleep so as to allow the use of magic, and they also give full feeling sensations to those who use them!
