What happened last thread:
>You're David Whiteman
>New Monsterology Graduate
>Work experience: Burgerguy, Dungeon Squire, Private Tutor
>"Otherworld" portals, to demonic dungeons, appear in the outskirts of town.
>You've applied to be the new Squire for the Dungeoneering Guild of the University of Hometown.
>You're also good in Otherworld Fauna/Flora and Survival
>You're also good at first aid

You're home again, after having aten at the uni canteen and met Professor Darling (Loli succubus), Bearington (bearman) and Mary (cowgal).

Seated on the sofa, you were staring at your television screen, pondering about that damned call. It has been itching at you ever since you made the application.

Then, the phone rang.

"Mr. Whiteman?" someone said through it. "I'm from the university DG. We're interested in interviewing you! When could it be of your convenience?"

You cough, and straighted your voice. "Uhm, how about later today?"

You didn't have much to do either, aside perhaps watching those new anime episodes or leveling your mook to level 100.

"Sure!" the voice said. "We'll expect you at the Guild's building then, at five?"

"Ok." you reply, stiffly.

>Go to the interview in business casual attire.
>Go to the interview in squire adventuring gear
>Chicken out and don't go. You're too nervous. Maybe call them and try to appoint it for later, as awkward as that may be.

Need to tap that professor.

Since the guy didn't say to bring anything in particular, we can probably assume that it's just a regular interview.

You go to the interview in casual buisness attire after having aten some nice microwave ramen. You arrive back at the university, finding it to be as busy as usual, and you approach the DG section as you found before, finding a man at the doorway. He was a large Draconian of some sort, you really couldn't pinpoint the species though.

"Hello chap!" he said, in quite a chipper tone, opening the door for you to come with him. "You're Whiteman, yes? Come with me. I'm interview guy, Mr. Stone"

You nod, and follow him through, reaching the main guild hall, bustling with people walking from one place to another, bringing parchments, equipment, and all sorts of dungeoneering gear, along massive crystals and other thing you couldn't really tell what they where, but they looked mineral, and magic.

You were lead to an office, and to sit in front of his table, were he placed himself.

"So, Mr.Whiteman. What brings you here to work with us - what is your motivation to become a dungeon squire?"

>"I need the money. I'm broke."

Don't JUST say that we're broke, because that leaves a bad impression.

Yes. Consistently.
Saying those there because you need money is a reason NOT to hire you. It means you won't be dedicated to the job, because it's just a job
>>
"Well, I always had a passion for the Otherworld and excitement. I like hands-on research." you say.

Mr. Stone chuckles. "Alright." he says, apparently satisfied with just that. "You seem like a pretty adequate guy so far then."

He then wrote something down on his papers, and looked back at you with a grin. "Previous experience... Ah, you've already been a squire from what I can read here. How did that go?"

You shrug. "Well, it was with a few loose people. Not guild-based, just a rather freelance incursion in the more safer areas. I handled mostly navigation and stuff. One of them also got a sprained ankle when we got attacked by a hoard of implings, and I took care of that too. I'm good at field medicine. First-aid and such."

"I see. You seem like a pretty practical person - that's good. You could go to places, however, Mr.Whiteman. Where do you see yourself in five years?"

"Well..." you ponder. You really hadn't though too much about that.

>Working as a Dungeon Expedition Leader, eventually, by raising in hierarchy.
>Working as a Researcher, and get further academic qualification along the way as you work here.

Who the fuck shows up to an interview with a big-ass sword?

"I'm currently trying to keep an open mind in regards to future opportunities as they present themselves, while still pursuing my interests" you claim. He looks at you with a smile, and chuckles.

"I see." he says, and writes down some more. You want to try to peer over and see what he is writing, but you don't want to seem like a creep, so you don't.

"Mr. Whiteman, I believe this has been quite a successful interview, and I hope to see you in the future with us. You may expect an email with a confirmation about your application's status." the guy tells you, and stuffs the papers into his suitcase. That was it? Pretty short, but then again, he did seem to be quite skilled at this.

"Alright." you reply, standing up. "Thank you for your time."

"The same, Mr. Whiteman." he responded.

You lead yourself outside, and then wandered to the bus stop to get back home. But along the way, you got a call. You took it, and immediately, someone started to yell into it.

"Mr.Whiteman!" you heard Stone say. "Are you availble to start your job - HNG - right now?"

Some kind of warping sound could be heard in the background. An otherworld portal. Here? Well, you weren't officially under contract yet, so you could spare your behind and not go to whatever he is asking you to go to - you already knew that they have had some casualties already. Or, you could kiss ass, and go.

>Don't go there. Home safe. Tell him some excuse and return to your animes.

I got hazard pay working on a climbing tower at a summer camp.

"I'm in." you say, snapping closed your phone and running back to the university, dashing through the halls, trying to get to the guild annex as fast as you could. Along the way, you noticed that the healer cowgirl you met earlier was bouncing as quick as she could towards the same location as well, carrying an oversized white staff and a large metal box under a shoulder. Mary, was it?

"Mary!" you say, as you put a hand on a wall to turn a corner, then continue running along her. "Going to the guild?"

"Huff-Huff, Yes! Huff" she replied, as she held down her ridiculous front with one arm.

You reached the guild door, and you could see several magical seals spinning on the surface of the walls and floor of that area of the building. It was magic designed to keep the building intact. You pulled the door open, and a gust of warm air invaded your senses. There, in the middle of the guild's main room, was a S-class Fire Behemoth, being rained down by barrage after barrage of spells. You knew what it was - you have studied these kind of fuckers in Monsterology. He wouldn't last too long outside of the Otherworld, here in Realworld, but what was incredible was how the fuck did he get here, if there are only Otherworld portals in the outskirts of town?

Mary laid down her metal box, and opened it to extract several sheets which she laid on the floor. She was going to treat the people harmed right there. You had to do something.

Some human came in through the door, with a gnome on his arms. "Mary!" he said. The cowgirl nodded back, and let the guy leave the midget on the sheets. Immediately, she pulled out bandages with one hand from her box, as she held a glowing hand over her patient with the other.

>Look for Mr.Stone, who called you here, and ask him for instructions.
>Go and pull wounded from the guild main room to the hall outside, for Mary to treat. It's risky though, the Fire Behemoth is there.

We've studied behemoths. Even if our physical abilities are such that we can't do it ourselves, we're best equipped to lead here.

"I'm going in." you say, and you barge through the door, entering the desert-like heat of the guild's main room. You immediately take off your shirt to sustain the intense temperature, and you look around for people who are in a bad condition. In the middle, a circle of caster were spamming all kinds of spells you didn't understand. They looked like shields and chains - they were trying to wait out the Behemoth - they must know that it can't exist here for too long. There - you saw an orc, limping against the ground, trying to get outside. You grabbed his hand, trying to her his arm over your shoulder, and bearing part of his weight, you pulled him outside, to Mary. She seemed to be very occupied, multi-tasking several people at the same time. She wasn't trying to heal them, you could see, just keeping them alive until more healing assistance could arrive.

"Stay here" you tell the orc, and you go back inside. The demon's presence had become more intense, a stench of sulfur started to permeate the air. Then there, at the back, you could see Mr.Stone, apparently conjuring forth spells to attack the demon with the rest - he looked occupied. You then looked around, and found a lamia-man, and pulled him outside with the rest in same way. You were sweating a flood, your skin ached, and you went back in. Then there, you could see the Behemoth slowly crumble out of existence. His time was starting to run out - but that made him even more desperate to escape the resistance the group of scholars were casting upon him.

He was surely going to gradually, but quickly increase the heat even more as last resort self-defense - if he can't move due to the spells, this was his final option to fight back. But there was more people in there - what would you do in his final bout?

Roll 100 regardless of choice, best of first three, most picked choice goes.
>Try to get even more people out, despite the increase in danger. DC:60 (Huge failure of DC:20 is not reached)
>Run out of the guild main room, to the relative safety of the hall. DC: 35
>Attack the behemoth with whatever you can find - there are spare weapons (magic javelins, guns) of the people who have fought on the floor. DC: 70

Thread length is absolutely too short, 4 hours is the normal minimum. Other than that, you did a good job.
