It's been a rollercoaster of a ride for you, getting to this point in your life.

First, there was the mission that got you to this point. From a very, very shitty start involving your medic eating it in the first few seconds and the rest of the team buying the gods-damned farm after you all left the lab, it's been nothing but a downhill drop of depression and destruction. Then there's the events that led to you having your own team, which involved some blue-skinned assholes tossing you in gravver jail, taking all your shit, and basically treating you like a dog. Then you got pulled right out of jail, shoved into a transport convoy, and - fuck, that first battle was such a shit fest that you don't want to think about it.

And then the REAL rollercoaster ride began. You got into a side mission that went great, since the rest of your team wasn't involved, then you almost got killed in the second fucking match of your life because you got faced against the one motherfucker that murdered your two previous squad's MIA teammates, and then you got told that you had to work with him. Yeah, no, that wasn't a very pleasant surprise. You're just lucky that last night involved a lot of heavy drinking and alcohol-boarding, or you would have shot the bastard.

Which brings you to today, where you woke up, found out about Myl's involvement with some weird shit called 'metatron', and decided to get into a disarming fight with your whole team. They went a little overboard on you, smashing up most of your wanzer in the process, but you also went overboard on them, taking all of them out by the rules.

By your calculations, it's just around noon. Already, you need a fucking drink.

You had all dismounted your wanzers after a few minutes of catching your breath, and were now standing in front of the warehouse. They had sensed that it would be appropriate to line up in front of you, and there was a rather sullen mood in the group. No one wanted to look at anyone. No one wanted to talk to anyone. Even Myl, who was about to come up, had chosen to just step back inside of the warehouse. She was still there, her head just poking out of the front door and into the edge of your peripherals, but the mechanic seemed to want to give this situation a very wide berth.

They're waiting for you to say something.

In light of the situation at hand, there's really only one thing you can do. You tilt your head back and place both hands on your hips, letting out a weary sigh. Without looking at the team, you say, "Well...no one's dead. Beyond all the shit that just happened, none of us killed anyone, and that's an achievement in and of itself, in TITAN Training." This helps the more nervous people of your team to relax.

"That said, you all failed. At the very start of the exercise, Roy, I was able to disarm you without any fuss. You're holding your gun as if it's a dildo instead of your lifeline. Sofia, it's good that you're playing to your strengths, but if you just show the enemy your position like that, you're going to get creamed nine out of ten times. Deks, Ass - Gaius, both of you almost trashed my wanzer, when the only requirement was to get my revolver out of my hand. Definitely not pleased about that one. And Nahn, you're a grown woman. I'm not expecting you to make gold for me, here, but you need to stop panicking. I swear, if you keep on doing this shit, you're going to endanger the lives of the rest of the team." You tilt your head back down to look at them. Nobody's pleased to hear you say what you said, but the fact that you weren't yelling at them was a big relief.

Maybe too big. Gaius took a step forward, his one arm folded behind his back. "Ma'am. I have my own thoughts on the situation, if you don't mind me sharing them."

>...fuck it. Sure, Gaius.
>Permission denied. Get back in line.
>Permission denied, fucker. I've got punishments for the lot of you.

Your high is wearing off, replaced by the second strongest fatigue you've faced in your entire career as a pilot. You just wave your hand in a vaguely approving manner, stepping to one side to let Gaius take over.

He doesn't seem to move from his spot. "Ma'am, your piloting skills are top-notch stuff. There are few pilots who could even come close to matching your skill in a wanzer. As much of an equalizer as it should have been to set the five of us against you, putting an inexperienced team together and forcing them to try and take a single target down with co-ordination isn't going to work very well. While I tried to take command of the situation, initial panic had been enough to take out two of our squad from the very beginning, and inexperience had taken out the formic. He was a very important piece in regards to our mobile turret strategy, and his loss had spelled loss for us all. Compiling that with the panic, as you had mentioned, along with our underestimation of your skills... well, it wouldn't work out very well for all of us."

Gaius continued on, ignoring some of the worried glances that he was getting. "You had said before that you would punish us if we all had failed. I would like to take the failure on my own shoulders, ma'am. With the most combat and leadership experience under my belt, I should have led the squad more efficiently. It's clear that I haven't. Whatever you may have in store as punishment, I will take the brunt of it." His speech was almost moving, in a sleazy sort of way. Roy and Nahn seemed to be moved by it, anyway. Deks and Sofia - whoa, Sofia's really glaring at the both of you. That's weird.

"That's pretty fucking gallant of you, Gay-ass. If I was just a little more naive, I'd think you were doing it out of the kindness of your heart. But everyone's doing the Suicide Push, today - even me. Twenty push ups, twenty sit ups, twenty squats, a lap around the edge of the open field, twenty jumping jacks, and another lap around the field doing nothing but squat-jumps. If you've got time to complain, you've got time for me to kick your ass and force you to do it all, anyway. Get to it, people, COME ON!" You scream out that last bit, snapping everyone to action and getting them all to move.

The more military-oriented of the crew takes to the tasks like fish to water. Sofia, in particular, is almost elegant in how she exercises. She's slower than Nahn and Gaius, who try to push through the exercise stoically, but her movements use up little energy. Speaking of Gaius, that one-armed bit is giving him more trouble than the rest, but he seems to be strong enough to power through the exercises without complaint.

The only people that were worrying you were the two civvies. Deks could be excused, probably, since his unique, insectoid frame didn't really give to exercises very well. Roy, however... "COME ON, YOU LARD-ASS! KICK THE LEAD OUT OF YOUR COLON AND GIVE ME A FUCKING PUSH-UP!" You scream. Managing the both of them has taken up most of your time, so far.

>>
>>39678549
Roy's not exactly doing bad, but he's definitely struggling. All that weight is in the way, causing the chubby lopine to puff and wheeze after the tenth sit-up. Deks... well, at least he's thinking about exercises that he can do. You won't get too hard on him, just yet.

Everyone's getting into their own rhythm. It's high time you caught up to the team.

You dive headlong into the exercise, ignoring the sudden aches and pains that were burning in your muscles. The extent of your fatigue was starting to show, as it took no small amount of effort to get through the first twenty push-ups. Still, you bit back the bile building up at the back of your throat and soldiered on. It'll get easier once you get into it, probably.

Twenty push ups, twenty sit ups, twenty squats. Seeing everyone do better than him gives Roy a sudden jolt of adrenaline, which you helped along by glaring at him angrily. Deks is trying his best to translate some of the exercises that the rest of you are doing into things that he can do, but that huge sac at the bottom of his person was not helping in the slightest.

One lap around the field, then twenty jumping jacks, then a few squat jumps. It takes a lot of mental fortitude to pilot a wanzer, but people tend to forget about the physical aspects of it all. Constant limb movement, physical endurance against pain, no rest in the middle of the battlefield; it's almost like anaerobic exercises. Right now, the whole of Red Pack (excluding Myl) was suffering.

You complete one rotation feeling only a little more winded than before. Nahn, Sofia, and Gaius seemed to be faring just as well as you were, but Roy and Deks were almost dead.

You can't give up just yet. You've got to push through. Gritting your teeth, you pick yourself back up and get back to the middle of the field, going right back down on the ground to start again. The second time is much easier than the first, since the pain is already dulling itself. Twenty push ups? No sweat. Twenty crunches and sit ups? Easy! You could do this in your sleep!

Everyone else was not faring so good. Roy was crawling on all fours just to try and meet up with you. Whatever burst of energy Nahn had in the beginning seemed to have left her, and she just flopped down face-first into the dry dirt. She was still alive, judging by the breathing, but the poor soldier wasn't going to get up any time soon. Gaius wasn't faring any better, but Deks and Sofia seemed to keep on trucking. In fact, the formic had finally figured out the exercise equivalents that his body could do!

All too soon, you complete another circuit. Half of the team can barely stand, with one soldier already face down in the dirt. Continuing now would be cruel, but if you let up...

If this team was as solid as Bullseye Squad, you could push them to the limit and not have to worry about people dying on you or having the business end of a knife in your back. As it stands, it's probably for the best if you send them in. "Sofia, Deks, and Roy - take Nahn and Gay-ass in and hit the showers. Tell Myl we did a number on all of our weapons and my wanzer. I've got a set to finish." You bark out, suppressing your labored breathing.

The trio is more than happy to comply. Deks, being the least worn-out of the team, takes it upon himself to carry Gaius in alone. Sofia tries to get Roy to help her, but she is eventually forced to drag both him and Nahn in on her own. In the meantime, you work on finishing up your final set. This time, you put all your strength into finishing quickly, fighting through the compounded pain until that very last squat jump.

After that...fuck, you just slump down to your hands and knees, letting your hair and sweat cascade to the ground.

1/?

Fifteen minutes pass before you enter the commons room once more. The team is sitting around the eating table with sullen looks all around, with the exception of Nahn. The poor girl was so tuckered out that she couldn't even lift her head. None of your squad mates rose up to greet you, but Deks and Sofia did bow their heads in respect.

Myl was in the kitchen, cooking up a storm. When she saw you come in, her face scrunched up in anger. "Now, captain, I know y'all are tough an' whatnot, but these folks're regular folks! They ain't used t' all that hardship that yer used to. Ya gotta go easy on 'em! Also, y'all only up and wrecked all our new babies! Also, the Prallat punched us in the cunt, last match - Gaius has to come in, and if he dies, we all get killed. I made a snap decision and got his ass a new arm, so that he can at least work at full capacity. We're going to be - "

Myl stops you before you can get any further. "Calm down, there, Slick. Ah'm not really mad. Sure, ah'm a li'l peaked, but that's just 'cuz ya took out one o' mah babies. What you do with yer squad is yer business, and even if I don't agree none, we made you th' captain. Now, there is just a few things that I got t' talk to ya about, but ah thought it could wait until after we eat. How 'bout it? Ah made real sirloin steak, and it's bugger friendly!"

Your stomach heartily agrees. It's been almost a day since you last ate.

You and Myl set up the table, sit down in your respective spots, and begin to eat. The steak is delicious, and it goes great with that weird fruit that you had bought, last time you went into the city.

The only thing that was ruining this lunch for you was everyone else. There was still this aura of depression in the group...

You can't eat like this. And they definitely won't eat like that. Placing your fork down, you lean back in your chair. "Alright, assholes, I get it. You're pissed. But I've got a good reason for the shit that I did. Back in my old squad, our CO put us through the same training. TITAN Trials, he called it. He'd get in his wanzer and challenge me and my three other squadmates to a fight, but he made it so that it was just to tear off flags from his cock...pit. I thought I could show off to the team, since I was the youngest person there and I was the new kid, but I fucked up. I couldn't control my wanzer in space as well as I thought I could, and I tripped over every fucking obstacle that you can imagine. Needless to say, I got KO'd. Because I couldn't keep my shit together, the CO made me scrub down every gods-damned room in the whole ship. It took me months to get that shit done."

While they didn't laugh at your story, at least they didn't sand-bag it; at the end of your tale, everyone was eating together, drinking and regaining lost energy. There wasn't as gloomy an atmosphere as before, you think.

---

After your meal, everyone took the chance to get some rest. They all split up to the most comfortable parts of the room, the menfolk lounging around near the TV while the womenfolk laid in their cots. Before you could go and get some much-deserved shower time, Myl tapped you on the shoulder. "Psst. Captain. Ah got news."
>>
>>39680901
"Awrighty, so. Ah was thinkin' that we all needed a li'l playtime ta offset the hard workin' that y'all did, t'night. We also need money, so ah was thinkin' we could...y'know, get everybody over t' the Underdeck. Ah could take people in th' jeep, and ah even rustled up a motorbike with a sidecar for ya, if y'all wanted. Oh, ah also got a few ideas fer gettin' some cash, if'n ya want, along with some info on yer next match. But couldja please consider lettin' the team go ta town, t'night? Y'all could drink or go an' get a massage or two..." Something about how Myl was smiling made you think that this was less about the team and more about just wanting to party...

You're pretty sure that a large part of you wants to let your hair down, too. Hell, you still have your hair tied up in a foxtail. "Ah, sure. They've earned it. Hey, team! We're going to all relax in town for a bit! I'll let you get only a little fucked up, but not too much!" You yell out, to the relieved sighs of everyone else. With that done, you turn back to Myl and continue with, "Okay, money first, then match. Go."

"Awrighty. So, first thing's first - our jailers don't really cover us fer much. They got the clothes on our backs and th' power up over our heads, but th' wanzer management is up to us. We'd hafta put in requisitions fer new wanzers, and they'll give us F-Rank shit. Y'all remember F-Rank shit, don'tcha? Ah mean, yer F-Rank parts are still in storage, near th' back, so if'n ya wanna save money, that's one way. If ya want more'n that, though, we could always go int' town fer bettin' on shit. There's a lot of shit t' bet on all th' time, so we can make a real nice haul outta that shit. Worst comes t' worst, there's a place ah know fer bounties an' shit. Y'got a nice iron on ya, so if'n ya want, that's an option. It's higher risk than bettin', since ya lose yer life if'n y'all mess up, but it pays out better."

Myl clears her throat. "Don't worry none, ah won't pressure ya for it now. Ah'll do it later, once we get inta town. B'fore that, lemme tell ya about the next match. It's a week from now, so's y'all got some time t' train up. The short version o' this is that it's basically like one o' them fancy Em-oh-bee-ayy thingies that them inner-ring folks like, with the robit spawners an' hero things an'..." "...awright, don't gimme that death look, Sparky. Here's th' longer version. It's a three-way contest o' domination, right, but there's more to it than that. Y'see, th' field's divided up inta nine points spread out uneven-like around the Ruined City. That's not includin' yer base, which ya gotta protect at all costs. Now, all o'er the field on these nine points are these facilities known as auto-fact'ries. They got a hell of a lotta inactive drones inside 'em, jus' waitin' fer some juice. Ya power the thing up by goin' inside the fact'ry an' fixin' the breakers, then it makes some drones ta go an' fight for ya...once ya program it. Th' fact'ry is a tiny li'l thang, only fittin' a few people inside th' control room in the back, so ya gotta dismount from yer wanzer an' get that shit done quick."

"So ya got that, right? Then there's th' bases, which makes fer the real problem. See, them bases are yer lifeline. It's basically just a hell of a lot o' resources, like food an' wanzer parts an' stuff. At th' end o' the match, the team that still has their resources in their base wins, and they get t' keep their take! Now, y'all can try to go in there willy nilly an' steal th' other team's stuff, but that won't really do ya good. They got more folks. So they even up the score by lettin' ya have man-sized drones ta go an' bust the other teams' supplies up! If ya do steal resources, though, ya get their shit along with yer own! So ya get t'keep even more!"

Pausing only to take a breath, Myl concludes her explanation by pulling out her datapad. "Here ya go. This should help ya with th' rules!"

1 - Everyone's got supplies! If you lose all your supplies, you're out!
2 - There's auto factories that make automated units scattered around the Ruined City! Activate them for extra help!
3 - Stealing supplies is risky, but allowed! If you steal supplies, you get more at the end of the game!
4 - If your team dies, you're out by virtue of being dead!

Well, that's clear enough for you. Putting away the datapad, Myl points out toward the front of the warehouse. "So, Sparky... ready t'head inta town? Or didja wanna save that fer later? Ah'd rather take care of it now, but if ya don't wanna stress out th' team, it's probably fer the best..."

Refreshed and ready for the drive to town, everyone files out of the commons room with a renewed vigor. While the team may still be a little peeved and a little bit afraid of you, they're at least willing to include you in the crowd while they talk and walk.

"Wow, I haven't gone for drinks with people in a long time!"
"Ah, wheat and barley. If all else fails, it's a diplomat's best friend. Especially since they have genetically modified brews that cater to every sophont in the quadrant."
"I've never been invited drinking, before...I'm so excited!"

Captain. I wish to speak with you, when you have time.

Wait, that last one - oh, right. Sofia. The blueberry shoots a careful glance in your direction, but doesn't seem to say anything more. You all get out to the front of the warehouse, being led by Myl into a makeshift vehicle shed. Inside was the jeep as you knew it, sitting right beside a tarp. Myl walked over to the tarp, which covered what was clearly a motorbike. She yanked it off with a flourish, revealing... "Ta-daaaa! Meet th' new hog! Ah modeled it after them Smith an' Wesson types - y'know, them low riders where ya sit like a cool guy? Anyway, it's got a V-10 engine, but it runs on a wanzer pack ah scrabbled t'gether, so ya don't even need ta gas this baby up! An' th' best part? It's got a sidecar, fer if ya don't wanna be all clingy in th' bucket seat!" The mechanic stood proudly in front of her construction.

You've got to admit - it looks way better than her usual machines. That said, there isn't really much purpose for it when you've got a jeep. "Myl, we can all fit in the fucking jeep. I mean, I like this thing, but it's got a shitty-ass side car. I was born on a space ship, so I think all these gravver vehicles look like my vaginal discharge anyway, but even I know that the sidecar makes it look like double-ass."

"Okay, Sparky? Yer killin' me. Also, th' jeep only seats five, if'n ya want seatbelts an' shit. Th' back's open, but ah'd rather not put someone in there, y'know? Also, ah got a feelin' that we might need two vehicles, t'day, dependin' on what ya wanna do." replied Myl, tipping her hat in your direction. "So. Well, if worst comes to worst, it'd be better if you were the one driving the possible death trap than anyone else. "Myl, you're riding side-car with me. It's not too long of a trip. Uh...anyone here know how to drive, other than me and Myl? I was kinda winging it, before, but it's not too hard." You ask.

Roy tentatively raises his hand. "I've got practice from when I was in the High - "

"Yeah, whatever. Saddle up, Buck Teeth, because you're driving the rest of the team. Just meet up with us at the car park that everyone seems to go to in the Underdeck. Worst comes to worst, just head back to the warehouse. Got it?" You ask, to which the lopine nods. With that settled, the team splits up, and all the people currently in trouble climb into the jeep. Deks was a bit of a problem, but they just had to slide him into the back of the jeep, in the storage container area. Once everyone was settled, the big vehicle rumbled to life.

You sit down in the bucket seat of the motorbike, and Myl hops into the side car. Before you can figure out how to start up the damn thing, however, she grabs onto your wrist. "Hey, Hotshot. Let 'em go ahead, first. Ah got some shit t' talk with ya about concernin' this morning. Ah know now ain't the best time, but...well, ah saw how y'all act with alcohol in ya, so maybe now's the best time."

Damn it all. You signal for Roy to bring the Jeep out, yelling, "Go on ahead! I gotta make sure I know how to drive this piece of shit safely before I go out on the road!" The Jeep starts to rumble forward for a bit before zooming out of the compound, driving down the unpaved road and toward the city.

Well, now that they're out of the way, you look over to Myl and begin to lower your foxtail. "Alright, Myl. I promised you that I'd talk to you, so now I'll talk to you. Look, I know I'm a piece of shit a lot of the time. I say 'fuck' and 'shit' and 'gods-damn' a lot because...fuck, I don't know. I guess I've always been like that."

Myl doesn't respond. Instead, she starts to take out the side car by loosening the bolts on the Bulldog. "Ah cain't tell you how many folks I've met what got a big ol' chip on their shoulders, Sparky. Ah can tell ya that most o' their shit comes from not talkin' to people or openin' up their shit. Hell, girl, I know more about th' 'tau than I do you, b'cause she's got a planet and skills ah got t' go off of. Y'all haven't even said yer first name t'me! All ah got is yer last name, an' that's from yer jailers when they handed yer toned butt over t'me!"

Fuuuuuck. You don't really want to get into the whole 'name' business right now. It's a stupid story that doesn't really need to see the light of day, and it's also a professional line that you'd rather not cross with anyone ever again. Myl pulls the side car away from the bike with a solid yank before patting your shoulder. "Scoot back, Hotshot - ah'll ride in front o' ya."

Myl's small enough to just slide in the big bucket seat without any trouble, leaning her shoulderblades into your chest before whipping out a set of keys. "This ol' thing runs on an ignition. Helps keep the everything simple. Anyway, let's have a nice, gentle pow-wow, Sparky, an' talk about feelin's and shit. Here, ah'll start ya off easy. What d'you feel comfy talkin' about?"

>What DO you feel comfy talking about? (This is a full Write-In choice, but the following are some suggestions to help make choices.)
>Divulge first and last name.
>Divulge the reason why you drink a lot.
>Discuss anger issues.
>Shelve this conversation, for now. It's still too soon.

Gonna close up shop, soon.

Looks like alcoholism and anger issues win out. The name is suggested, but a counter-suggestion cancels it out. Sorry, anon.

Writing.
>>
>>39683608
You don't like this. You hate it, in fact. A part of you just wants to get off of the bike, get back into the kitchen, grab a bottle of scotch, and start drinking while masturbating furiously in the shower. But that's not an option available, now, is it? Instead, you just lean back into the bucket seat and start brushing a hand through your hair.

"...I'll start with my alcoholism, I guess. I didn't really have parents to tell me to stop drinking, so I just kinda started doing it along with the other people on the Iscar. All the cool kids were doing it, and it kinda helped me forget that my life was so shit, before now. Before I knew it, I became an alcoholic. I haven't stopped drinking since I was...what, thirteen? Fourteen? Fuck, I can't remember anymore. I'm just lucky that they made beer that doesn't kill your fucking brain cells, or I'd be a retard right now. I like the strong shit, since it gets me drunker quicker, but I also like the tasty shit. Honestly, I just want to be drunk. Once we get into town, I'm definitely gonna fuck myself up."

The words are flowing out of you, now. You couldn't stop yourself if you tried. "As for my anger issues...well, you've been drunk, Myl. You know what it's like. Doesn't help that people keep acting like dumbasses around me, and I've got to bash their heads in. I'm not saying that I know better than other people. I'm as much of a fuck up as anyone else, okay? But when I go around and see people like Nahn just drop their shit at the first sign of trouble, or Roy - FUCKING ROY, GODS DAMN IT! He's worse than I used to be when I was a fucking rookie, drunk off my ass all the time! I wanna go easy on the team, but at the same time, I see what I can do, and it just...it just gets me mad. Same goes for when I'm out just doing gods-know-what. If I see someone acting out of step, I'll kick their ass until they get back in line. It's how the CO did it, and it's how I'll do it."

Myl spins the keys around her finger slowly, thinking quietly to herself. After a time, she turns her head back and looks right into your shades. "Well...ah cain't say I'm all too happy about hearin' all that, but ah ain't mad. Actually, ah'm kinda glad ya opened up to me, even if it's just fer a little bit. First things first, though - yer an alcoholic. Doctor Myl's got a prescription fer that shit, and it's called 'weanin' ya down t' normal levels'. No goin' overboard. Promise me." She says, a serious furrow in her brow.

"Second off - ah hear what yer really sayin' when ya say shit like that. Y'all cain't just take on the whole quadrant's problems by yerself, Sparky. Ah know yer all about makin' people strong an' junk 'cuz yer ol' boss did it, but yer not yer boss. Ya gotta git that through yer thick skull, ya stubborn mule. An' don't go comparin' people t'yerself in terms o' what they can and cain't do. Have ya ever looked in a mirror? Shoot, girl, y'all take th' cake when it comes t' tons o' cool stuff. Ain't nobody got as much talent in one pinky like you do! So don't go an' put people on yer own durned level, awright? Just let 'em be. Go easy on 'em. An' let 'em fall, fer Pete's sake!"

Myl's words echo in the small vehicle shed, giving each letter extra weight. She locks eyes with you for a moment, smiling warmly, before placing the keys into your hand.

"C'mon, Slick - let's hit th' town."

Danks for running!
>>
>>39684034
Hmm. I probably should have stretched out that ending a bit, but I felt that saying too much on the situation would be kinda...I dunno, too much? Overbearing, for a couple of relatively new friends? It's a weird situation that I don't exactly know how to write about.

Also, that ending song is kinda lame, but I like it. Fuck you.

In any case...

The whole squad has gained training! When piloting their wanzers, fighting, or otherwise put under physical stress, the team gets a small bonus! (+3)
Myl's S-Link - RANKU APPU!
Gained Vehicle - The Bulldog!
Your wanzer is temporarily out of commission. Beware!

As usual, if you've got the questions, I've got the time! Please ask now or forever wait until the next thread!

>>39684106
Thanks for stopping by!
>>
>>39684119
so will we have enough time to fix the wanzers by the time the next match starts? Also we never got that info Myl was supposed to get us.
>>
>>39684159
The info was the full details of the match, but you are right in that she didn't get EXTRA info. Give her time, anon - it's only been a few hours.

You've got a week. Flare and Myl have both shown that they can fully tune up a wanzer in a matter of hours. Trust me, you'll have time.
>>
>>39684183
A week, huh? That's plenty of time to make a lot of stuff, but we are severely lacking in the money and materials to do it.

Can we convert those F-parts, particularly the generators, into a mini furnace to make special ammo?
>>
>>39684183
so....when do we get our team pet...will it be a....VAMPIRE BAT!?
>>
>>39684238
Special ammo, you say...

Well, you don't have any extra facilities, yet. So far, you've got the hangar, the vehicle shed, and the commons room, which is currently serving as the sleeping quarters, the kitchen, the mission room, and the rec room all on its own. Getting the team to work on construction for a few days might help with that.

Don't worry - I made sure to give you guys time to play around with some new ideas I came up with, and to see what does and doesn't work. It'll all be in montage form, and it'll kinda work like those Civ Quests. Or not. I'll still think about it.

>>39684241
Do you guys want to get a pet? I mean, I don't usually put it in as a selection thing or anything because I thought it might not be appreciated read - I didn't think about it but if you want it, just let me know. I leave the write-in selection there for a reason, but I'm not exactly all too good with railroading. I'm actually quite bad at it, and I'm working to better myself.
>>
>>39684282
>Do you guys want to get a pet?
ehh, we'll do it to either inspire or celebrate Roy's competence.
>>
>>39684282
Sure but have it be a thing at the town that we can vote on from a few things, like dog or cat or telepathic snake or wereshar/falcon fusion.
>>
>>39684316
Hidoi, anon-sama.

>>39684325
Those last few things sound like tumblrshit. No thank you, anon.
But I'll think of something. No matter what, you guys will at least get a chance to get pet.
>>
>>39684383
it's not like we can expect Flare to take care of it.

Nahn and Roy seem like the best candidates for taking care of the pet, and if Roy is able to use this as inspiration....why not?
>>
>>39684419
Oh, that's what you meant. I mean, if you don't want a sick-ass dog fighting by your side in a beast mech, that's fine, too.

Seriously, though, if it does come up, I'll try to make it important to everyone in some way. I need to work on the group's inter-personal relationships.
>>
>>39684441
...oh. You thought-

....well that really WOULD be mean. Pretty sure getting a vicious pet that only Flare and Sophia can keep down would drive the team further apart, though.
>>
>>39684475
I want to make every character be a real person. It's hard, man. I'm not good enough as a writer to make them all live and breathe in the way that they do in my head.

It's like...it's like having a small apartment and filling it with a lot of characters. There's the people who would get along well, like the nervous chick and the incompetent guy that means well. Then there's people who wouldn't get along so well, like the incompetent guy and the stoic girl. It works fine in my head...

But I just can't put it to paper very well.
>>
>>39684514
that you're able to vocalize(write) the problem like this is already a step forward, keep at it.
>>
>>39684539
It's a grind, man, it's a grind.

But yeah, pet will be a possible thing. Right now, you guys should worry about things like what to do next.

In any case, starting later seems to work out well for everyone. Maybe I should start at around 8:00 CST...
